Kurata Seiji is an English teacher. He has taught many students. But he has never taught elves. Until now. 

Kurata-sensei is summoned (read: kidnapped) to another world by Elisa. Why? Because she and other elves want to learn English. Why? Because they discovered a magical thing called Netflicks. 

He is tasked with teaching a class of elves. And he discovers that every elf has become hopelessly addicted to the Internet, Netflicks and video games. These elves need much more than just an A in their exams. They need some basic life lessons. 

Can Kurata-sensei go above and beyond the call of duty?

This is my first ever work and I'm just writing this for fun. If there's anything illogical to the story, don't be surprised. I'm just a newbie. Anyways, enjoy reading!

James Lee is a Korean-born American teacher who is currently teaching in a Korean high school as per his friend's recommendation after gaining teaching experience from America. He is assigned to be the adviser of Freshmen Class A. 

Students start to like their new teacher, but little do they know that he's not just some good-looking charismatic teacher.

Given Qiu Chenxi's soft approach, the students would not treat her seriously and would not listen to her instructions. 
"Ah?" Miao Jing was stunned. "Isn't it just a lesson? Is it so complicated? Is it not too much of an exaggeration to compare it to the training of soldiers and deployment of strategies?"
Zhai Yaohui shook his head. "In this world, if you really want to do something well, then you can't treat things too lightly."
"Then, what should we do with the situation now? There's still more than an hour of lesson. Isn't it a waste of everyone's time if Qiu Chenxi stands on the stage without doing anything?" Miao Jing was displeased.
Zhai Yaohui shot a look at the political commissar. The political commissar quickly stood up and said, "It is rare that Comrade Qiu is willing to give us lessons. She is a college graduate from the university in the capital. Everyone should seize this opportunity to learn from her. I hope everyone can cooperate with Qiu Chenxi and learn as much as you can."
If not for the sake of the Qiu family, the political commissar felt like asking Qiu Chenxi to get off the stage and let Qiao Nan conduct the lesson. 
If she was incapable, she should not have volunteered to do the teaching. She was asking for trouble for herself.
"Okay, since everyone is shy, I will not force all of you. As a part of this army and from your response yesterday, I know that all of you are very enthusiastic toward English. All of you were busy practicing yesterday. It's just that I didn't expect that all of you would be unwilling to come up to demonstrate what you have learned." Qiu Chenxi took a deep breath and tried once again to get the soldiers to focus on the class and to control the rhythm of the class. "Everyone must have known by heart what you have learned yesterday. We shall move on to today's lesson."
The political commissar felt relieved and sat down when Qiu Chenxi began to start her lessons.
Qiu Chenxi relaxed slightly when the political commissar sat down. But faced with the blackboard, she was so helpless that she stood still, staring at it. 
Qiu Chenxi quickly calmed herself down and sorted out her thoughts. She glanced at her lesson plan before she took the chalk and started to write a few English words on the board. 
Qiu Chenxi's handwriting was pretty neat, especially when it was written on the paper. However, for those who were used to writing on the paper wrote on the blackboard without any practice, their handwriting on the paper and on the blackboard would seem as if they were from two different people.
As a result, the blackboard was a huge obstacle for Qiu Chenxi.
Qiu Chenxi had already taken other circumstances into consideration except for the blackboard, which was beyond her expectations. 
When she first started to write on the blackboard, her face turned red from the laughter behind her. She used the fastest speed to erase the English letters on the blackboard and prepared to rewrite it.
Unfortunately, in the two times that she tried writing on the blackboard, her handwriting was not as she expected.
"…"
Qian Yanyan was dumbfounded. How could this be? 
Qiu Chenxi was an adult, yet her handwriting was not as beautiful as the little teacher? Was she joking with her?
Qian Yanyan was not the only one who had such thought. The rest of the soldiers could not believe that Qiu Chenxi's handwriting on the blackboard would be this terrible. "Comrade Qiu is a college graduate. I heard that Teacher Xiao Qiao is only a high school student. Could it be that as she has graduated for a long time, her handwriting has also deteriorated? Her handwriting on the blackboard cannot be compared to Teacher Xiao Qiao's handwriting."
One could easily tell who the better teacher was from the discussions among the soldiers.
One was a comrade, while the other was a teacher. From the form of address, Qiu Chenxi had already lost to Qiao Nan.
Lin Yuankang had a look of pride on his face. He leaned toward Qiao Nan. "Little disciple, what's your thought on this? Do you care to share it with me? It's so boring to have the joke to yourself. You should share it with me."
"Interesting?" Qiao Nan shook her head. "I don't think it is interesting. I only want to say that Qiu Chenxi missed the right time." After another ten years, probably around 2010, the whole country would be using Information Technology. Almost every household would have one or several computers. Almost all of the classrooms, from elementary to university levels, would be equipped with a controller. As long as it was connected to the laptop, the contents could be projected using a projector and one could run a PPT.
By then, it would not matter whether Qiu Chenxi had good handwriting on the blackboard or not. As long as one used the computer, the fonts and typesetting would be done beautifully. Nobody would face such an awkward situation anymore. 
"The right time? When is the right time?" Lin Yuankang knitted his eyebrows, feeling perplexed. 
"I mean, China is advancing and developing rapidly. I think in a few years' time, teachers may not need to write on the blackboard. There may be a machine that can project the words. As a result, it will reduce the time wasted in the class and the students will have a happy and easy time having their lessons."
"Will there be such a day?" Lin Yuankang wondered. "It's without a doubt that China will develop and advance, but is what you said possible?"
Would teachers use such advanced technology in their lessons? 
"Definitely." In less than ten years, or probably two more years, when it was the 21st century, the universities would adopt such a teaching method. 
"Nan Nan, do you want to be an English teacher in the future?" He hoped that his little disciple would follow in his footsteps. 
"No, I am just talking about the future development of China. I am not interested in being a teacher. If you did not drag me here with you, would I have accepted this task?" Qiao Nan denied immediately. She already had a lot on her mind given her family situation. If she was a teacher, she would have a lot more to worry about. 
If possible, she would avoid taking on jobs that would require her to dedicate a lot of her time and effort, especially those that needed her to labor and toil with her mind and body. For instance, jobs like teaching that would have a huge impact on future generations. 
"That's good." Lin Yuankang was relieved.
"What's good about that?" Qiao Nan did not understand.
"Nothing. You should focus on the lesson. It's very rude of us to talk within ourselves while others are conducting the lessons. Nan Nan, as your teacher, I must correct you. You can't do this in the future." Lin Yuankang put on a stern expression and looked toward the blackboard, checking out the words that Qiu Chenxi wrote. 
Qiao Nan, who was criticized for no apparent reason by Lin Yuankang, was dumbfounded. 
It was her master who started the conversation. What she did was to reply to his question. Why did she end up as being rude and disrespectful to others? 
Qiu Chenxi finally managed to write a few words on the board. She relaxed slightly. However, she shot a sideways glance at Qiao Nan. Qiao Nan must have done it on purpose!


Qiao Nan: Crap! I am your biological daughter, yet I am treated as if I was picked up from the streets. In fact, you treat me worse than that!

Mother Qiao: Qiao Nan, you are not as pretty or smart as your elder sister. You are not as blessed as her. You have no right to study, marry, or to have your happiness!

Qiao Nan: Why am I not allowed to study, marry, or to seek my happiness? I will find a man right now and marry him!

Qiao Nan is dumbstruck upon discovering that the man right beside her is a powerful figure in the quad—the person who has the most promising prospects to be the future Chief.

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"

The men stayed to work and live at the clinic. It had taken the locals almost a month to warm to them.
As soon as they realized the men were giving them good medical attention and were nice people; it wasn't long before all the women were attempting to match-make them with their daughters. Especially Eiji who was appealing in their eyes and held a stoicism and intelligence that oozed of a rich-man's son. This made Eiji groan as he was starting to run out of excuses. He was willing to put up with as much as he could to be able to learn more of the war from them.
He had also learned more of his teacher's life after his time at school.
Ohno-sensei had lost his job when their school was bombed in the Tokyo air raids. He had been unable to secure a teaching job at another school for the months following.
When he was finally given a teaching job at a Saka high school, he had arrived to his new school being closed down. The government had repurposed it as a training barrack for navy recruits.
Many schools around the area had also been closed or weren't taking in new students or teachers. So he enlisted in the navy as a means to support his family and bring honor.
This fact made Eiji sad. He felt it was his duty to work hard for the people of Saka in his teacher's honor.
Eiji and Kei had reverted to playing nurse and lackeys for their part at the makeshift clinic. Gathering supplies and ingredients from the area or neighboring towns for treatment. They were becoming known to the area. Fortunately, they weren't suspected by the Tonarigumi or local authorities. Yet.
A lot of the kids had grown fond of Eiji. He treated them cordially and gave archery lessons during their down times. This made a lot of the teenage girls and young women swoon with adoration. He was a pleasant distraction for their dreary days working in the factories.  
Girls shyly found an excuse to chat or give him flowers. A few mothers and old ladies had also warmed to him as well. Especially when he was willing to listen to their stories.
This had also earned him a friendship with Ren, who was a renowned champion for the prefecture.  The two spent some occasions challenging each other at practices. As well as getting to know each other within cautionary limits. 
Kei, on the other hand, was treated with distrust. Sean chuckled at the way kids would run from the man despite his wiry frame and clean cut four-eyes image. On first appearances he came across as a bank worker until you saw his "keep back" stare. His presence entertained kids with dare games and to see who was the bravest to handle his aggressive cussing.
"F'cking brats!" Kei grumbled as he unloaded a crate of tin goods on shelves in the clinic's small pantry room adjoined to the large kitchen.
A few kids had taunted him down the street with cheeky slurs to bait a reaction from him.  Of course, he had fallen for their bait and chased them angrily back towards the clinic, where they trailed off onto paths towards the sea.  He wasn't bothered to chase them down.
He slammed the tins of dry bread to the pantry's wall shelves with frustration.  
"Kei! Don't damage the goods!" Eiji scolded him as he unpacked his load meticulously on the shelves below his.
"Why'd those brats pick on me? They're all sweet to you!" Kei snapped to Eiji. 
Eiji chuckled. "Cause you give them a look that provokes them." 
Kei glowered at Eiji who laughed and confirmed that his current expression was the reason.
"Tsk." Kei dropped the subject and focused on stocking the shelves. 
In the connected hall, Tyne was cordially attending to patients.
The clinic was originally built to be an elementary school before the air raids had occurred. The town's mayor turned it into a clinic when a lot of people were injured in the first raids. 
Its two classrooms were repurposed as wards. What should've been a canteen hall and kitchen to support one hundred students, had been cleansed and cleared to contain two rows of free-standing medical beds, bassinets and cots that could be wheeled about.  A lot of them had been locally made with a mismatch of parts or donations from the training barracks.
A metal bench and glass cabinet (containing surgical utensils and medical apparatuses) were propped against the back wall near a row of sinks. Next to them was a teacher's writing desk and a 6-tier bookshelf containing various medical journals. No doubt from the late doctor's personal library and expenditure.
Tyne spent most of his time in there. Stitching, bandaging and diagnosing ailments to the locals. He realized most wounds were caused by work accidents. More accurately to say, work mistreatment. Likely as a form of punishment by some of the factory's bosses.  
Naturally,  a lot of the elderly were cautious and slightly reluctant for his treatment. They soon warmed to him when they realized he was fluent with their language and customs.   
Where Tyne was working the surgery. Sean was making house calls and tending to the injured that way.
Similar to Tyne, it took a while for doors to open up to him. When word had spread that his treatment had seen to the speedy recovery of others, and coupled with his presentable looks and good manners. He was welcomed in as a respected doctor.
People stopped thinking that Tyne and Sean were Germans (or of any other race).  The men were easing into being a firm part of Saka's community.


Hinata longed for his Eiji to return from war. Alone in the idyllic countryside whilst other areas of Japan were torn asunder. One day, he receives a letter from his lover filled with the scent of sunflowers and his undying love for him. Followed by official news of his presumed death at Iwo Jima. Heartbroken. Yet determined to honor his promise to Eiji; to live the life they were unable to live together.

Eiji fought honorably for Japan at Iwo Jima. He fell injured in a banzai charge to be classified as dead. He recovered with the aid of an American lieutenant, who escorted him back into the mainland for espionage work. His one chance and hope of return to Hinata's side.

"Today, what I'm about to announce is your next exam that's going to start tomorrow. However, you will be given a one week time frame to complete your first ever practical exam in the third district." Daniel announced to the class.

'Did God finally hear my prayers for the first time? It looks like he's actually doing his job for once!' I sighed with relief.

It was hard to try to cram all the class materials to avoid being busted by Luke during the past week. I went to the library every day, but what was impossible from the start was deemed to be impossible even though I put in all my effort in.

Luke's eyes flickered with suspicion when he glanced at my cheap meals. The extravagant meals he ordered for the first few days instantly stopped as he copied my cheap meals.

"You will be going to schools in the third district to teach one subject to the students in your grade for one week. Those who have students who score higher than other classes will get more points, but it can also go the opposite way. Good luck everybody! Details will be given tomorrow and you'll get time to get ready today." Daniel picked up his stuff and left.  

I hoped that I didn't look too excited. Teaching people in grade six with the level that is similar from my past life was way easier than writing exams in elementary school. This was the easiest exam I ever had in this life!

I had to prevent myself from smiling as I tried to think of sad things (which was mostly studying in this hell-like school). 

"Let's go to our room to prepare for tomorrow's exam Rika," Luke grabbed my hand to pull me towards our room.

'Why not? This was an easy way to earn points anyways,' I shrugged.

"Sure."

I found some items from the third district already placed in nice new packages on our desks. A flat screen smartphone, a special school uniform, pencil case and the other typical stuff.

Was this even needed?

I observed my surroundings inside the limo to see the typical middle school like my past life. The students wore a nicely tailored uniform that consisted a blazer, plaid cotton skirt or pants with a white shirt. 

It was a great contrast to what I was wearing, which was a silk white blouse with a plaid pink and white ribbon around my neck. My soft baby pink pleated skirt that swayed along the middle of my upper thigh glittered from the sunlight as it was made out of lace and silk. 

My shoes weren't any better as they were shiny pink dress shoes that had small heels. It was like I was going to a banquet rather than going to teach at a typical middle school.

However, Luke's uniform was not much better. He wore a fancy pale blue tuxedo made out of silk that matched his ocean blue eyes. 

Since we were both coming out of a car that resembled a limo from the third district (but was actually a self-driving car from the second district), we were gathering a great amount of attention from our surroundings. 

I wondered what the teachers at our school were thinking to send us in these eye-catching uniforms.

"I thought the school would send us a typical middle school uniform from the third district," I voiced my thoughts out loud. 

Luke's forehead creased with his usual frowns that accompanied it, "Of course the school can't send us in those kinds of clothes! We're supposed to be representing the most prestigious school in the first district!"

'Of course. We were supposed to be one of those 'typical first class elites' who had to 'maintain' their reputations. At this rate, this was similar to the whole family name thing that Luke was over conscious about.' I nodded my head.

A teacher from the school came to greet us at in front of the school gate while I was absorbed in my thoughts. We were escorted into the principal's office as the teacher soon excused himself to prepare for his first class. 

When I was about to sit down on the couch where the principle sat, Luke dragged me toward the other couch that was facing the principle instead. I tried to keep myself from staring at the snacks and tea in principle's beautiful teacups as I sat down where Luke gestured me to sit.

When everyone was settled in, Luke started to speak while lightly hitting my hand that started to reach out to some delicious looking butter cookies on the wooden table.

"Pleased to meet you, my name is Luke Roselia and this is my partner Rika Shane."

"I'm your point regulator for the next week, you can call me Ms. Tachamichi for the time being." The principle studied our faces.
 
"We were told that you would give us further details about our practical exam." Luke plastered a fake, polite smile on his face.

"How much do you know?" Ms. Tachamichi raised a brow like she was testing us. 

Luke beamed as he confidently replied, "We know that we are each supposed to be teaching one subject in one classroom for one week and get out points based on our student's averages."

"That is correct, I was told to tell you that you will be in charge of teaching chemistry while your partner is in charge of math."

Math was one of my stronger subjects since kindergarten so I wasn't feeling that nervous anyone as I started to reach out towards the table to grab a cookie again.

Unfortunately, Luke flicked my hand again while I sulked that Ms. Tachamichi's goodwill would go to waste. 

Maybe Luke wouldn't be stringy about drinking some tea. I started to reach out to my teacup as Luke shot me a threatening glare. 

I gave up on eating those delicious looking tea and snacks as two teachers came into the office.

"This is the homeroom teacher of year one class five: Mrs. Hilda who teaches chemistry. The other teacher beside Mrs. Hilda is Mr. Suzuki who teaches math and is the homeroom teacher of year one class two. They will escort you to introduce yourselves to their classes and you'll start teaching after lunch."

Mr. Suzuki walked towards me, "Shall we get going?"

Drops of rain landed on my face while I dashed towards the cathedral as if my life depended on it. The building was quite a mystery with its white brick exterior and dazzling stained glass that reflected the particles of water.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

The grand sound of the church bell resounded against my heart to reaffirm my purpose of why I came here in the first place.

I quickly tried to pry open the deteriorating entrance as to my relief wasn't locked. 

When I looked around the interior of the building, I found the place was empty with its typical wooden glazed benches and cross near the front behind the statue.

The pure white statue was big enough to cover my eleven-year-old body. I decided to hide behind the statue as I prayed for my fragile life. 

Bang!

A lovely girl slammed the door open with sounds of holding a long scythe trailing onto the floor. Its sharp metal blade left a scar on the floor as she brilliantly laughed.

The girl was someone that I knew. She known as a person who attracted many people who wanted to spend their time together with her just to see her smile.

She had a great sense of justice and unwavering sets of beliefs that gave her an unbelievable amount of charisma. It was like nature made this beautiful doll that was to be put on the pedestal for admiration.

Unfortunately, no matter how much human beings tried to deny it, every person had some kind of fault laid underneath the masks that they wore when interacting with other people.

The girl with murderous eyes had put her mask off to reveal a hideous smile and more laughter to accompany it.

"Rika! Where are you~?"

"Rika~ I know that you're here so you can come out now." She impatiently tapped her foot. 

"Come on Rika!" She screamed.

I covered my mouth with my trembling hands to keep myself from screaming. My whole body started to sweat unstoppably while shivering in terror.

I regretted hiding behind the statue as it was an obvious place to look while she slowly walked towards me. I should've hid in one of those benches! 

When I carefully took another peek to see how close she was from killing me, I suddenly couldn't see her anywhere.

"Ri-ka~" A voice whispered inside my ear.

I was captured and put onto a stake to be lit on fire as part of the ongoing witch hunt conducted throughout the land. I had to do something. But, this life really sucked. 

This all started when I was accidentally killed by God. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you. It was just that I was overworked lately by my superior and I just wanted some time to relax and vent my stress out," he confessed.

"So, while I was snacking, I accidently dropped one potato chip into the human realm where the child tripped over the potato chip onto a den of steep stairs." God guilty admitted.

So I reincarnated into the most adorable girl with the largest orange-speckled eyes that contrasted her pale white skin void of any imperfections.

'How could someone look this pretty?' I thought as I admired my new appearance.

I was nowhere close to this pretty in my previous life. Did God put me into this new vessel as an apology?

But some things were too good to be true.

"We can do this the nice way or the hard way," My fiancé’s brother started off.
"The nice way is where you willingly come with us back to the first district and the hard way is where we forcibly take you back, which would be hard for all of us," Lucius gave me a warning.
Why was my life so depressing? He practically meant I didn’t have a choice!

Few months later, I was at a party that I planned to escape from my fiancé’s family.
"I still get to continue with my naps on the weekends?" I tried to confirm with them.
No one answered as I almost cried from giving up my rare nap times from the mess I got involved with. This life was too bothersome!

'Foundational Chinese Medicine'
This introduction to Chinese medicine, written according to the Encyclopedia, was a writing of basic theories. The first chapter was the preface but Lin Fan added slightly more, an overview of the origin of Chinese medicine and its developments in the past thousands of years. Anyone who studied Chinese medicine needed to know its history. If one didn't know the history, how would that person learn Chinese medicine?
Hence, before the first chapter, Lin Fan added in the history of Chinese medicine.
He buried his head in it and wrote furiously, occasionally stopping not because he didn't know what to write next but because he felt that his writing was too good, so he needed to stop for a moment and admire his own masterpiece.
The first segment, second segment...Second chapter, first segment: The Theory of Yin and Yang.
The Encyclopedia only included a word description and didn't have any images. If he added an image, it could add some vividness to the book.
The Earth consists of Yin, Yang, and the five elements and the human body was the same. Hence, using the human body to explain the five elements was not a bad choice.

The sound of pen against paper emanated inside the shop.
Fraud Tian and the rest were a little startled, wondering what Lin Fan was doing.
Lin Fan seemed to be very different that day and Wu You Lan was a little worried. "Brother Lin, what are you doing?"
Lin Fan didn't even look up. He smiled and replied, "Ming Qing asked me to write new basic teaching materials for the students."
"Er!"
At that point, everyone in the shop knew that Lin Fan's medical abilities were extraordinary, so they didn't doubt him. However, they had never thought that he would be writing teaching materials. That was rather shocking.
Chinese medicine was a large field of knowledge. Those who were able to write teaching materials were basically all expert professors aged seventy or even eighty-plus. As of now, Lin Fan was only twenty-something. For him to be writing Chinese medicine teaching materials, it really was shocking.

Shanghai's First Chinese Medical Academy.
Zhao Ming Qing was also working on this matter. He had already given the word that the First Chinese Medical Academy's foundational teaching materials will all be replaced with new teaching materials in future.
This news spread like a tornado within the academy. Everyone was in disbelief.
The current teaching materials were written by several old Chinese doctors decades ago and had been used until now. Now that he said they would be replaced, the students felt that it was inconceivable. After all, there were basically no teaching materials on the market right now that could compare to those they were using.
Some of the meddlesome students started to protest.
Of course, they didn't protest openly but they posted complaints on the Internet, expressing their unhappiness.
A student from a certain dormitory was furious and he immediately wrote a post and posted it on the Internet.
"Ever since Shanghai's First Chinese Medical Academy's Director Zhao Ming Qing discovered the medicine for anorexia, he has started to go crazy. Now, he wants to completely replace the teaching materials that we have been using for decades…"
The post was very long. The first part was normal. It just expressed his discontentment and puzzlement at the decision. But the later part consisted of his personal thoughts about the downfall of Chinese medicine and blamed it all on these old Chinese doctors.
They were unprofessional, constantly changing and thus, causing unceasing unrest in Chinese medicine, causing it to be unable to steadily develop like Western medicine.
This matter didn't attract much attention in the beginning. But after some people added fuel to the fire, this post was brought to Weibo and even became trending.
The next day!
When Zhao Ming Qing saw the post on the Internet, his heart shifted. He was a little angry. After reading the post, he could only say that this was abandoning oneself and not forging ahead for Chinese medicine.
Reporters gathered around the entrance of Shanghai's First Chinese Medical Academy.
When Zhao Ming Qing appeared, the reporters surrounded him.
The reporters didn't understand this kind of situation but they just felt that it was a big piece of news. When there are people protesting, that means there is definitely an issue. Hence, they wanted to find out more.
"Director Zhao, do you have any comments regarding that post on the Internet?"
"Is the Chinese Medical Academy going to abolish the current teaching materials and introduce new ones? According to our knowledge, the Chinese medicine teaching materials that still remain now are not many and the ones that are used now are the best there are."
"The various Chinese Medical Academies around the country have all expressed unhappiness towards your decision to abolish the old teaching materials. They feel that it is against the regulations."
The reporters kept asking questions, one after another.
The surrounding students spectated the scene. They knew that this was an eventful period for the academy and they also knew about the replacement of the old teaching materials.
To outsiders, this may not have been a significant thing but to them, this was incomparably significant.
Nowadays, the Chinese Medical Universities' teaching materials were all chosen by the Education Department and they weren't allowed to be changed without instructions being given.
Otherwise, it would be difficult to manage. If all the schools were in disarray in terms of teaching material, that would not be a good thing.

If one thing made Guang Lingdao satisfied, it was those cube shaped devices present on the walls. The other half of it jutting out as exhaust. Each room had an airconditioner and all the kids were well behaved.

For now atleast.

Guang Lingdao can see the dozens of eyes glinting in weird lights. Girls looked at him in interest and boys had provocative smiles with flaming eyes.

They wanted to beat him up solely based on his cute looks and initial poppularity.

'Give me a break...' Guang Lingdao prayed in his heart.

He could easily take on a hundred kids. Hell even throw in the other grades and the rest of the campus he would be able to beat them all up.

His hazel eyes darted to the cute teacher wearing glasses draped in a grey formal wear resembling a suit.

Even the teachers. He can even beat them up as the strongest he had seen so far was a rank fourty one soul ancestor. The school was purely for kids, an elementary protected by the sun moon federation. strength wasn't needed too much to keep it running. Just proper teaching methods and little resources.

The the tuition was expensive.

He was that confident in his strength. But the problem for him is their sheer numbers.

Kids always wanted to have fun and are very competitive. Not wanting to be outdone by their peers. Not to mention them being more stubborn than a fearless calf.

There was a good seventy percent chance that he would be challenged to a fight today after classes.

He had better things to do than smack some sense into entitled kids unless they had enough potential and were willing to follow him.

"Good morning Little Ling. You're just on time! I was just about to call for you." The teacher wearing glasses curtly called out to him in excitement.

It can't be helped.

'HE'S TOO CUTE!' The teacher giggled and turned her back to everyone to wipe her lips using a handkerchief. She had subconsciously drooled upon seeing such a cute child stop shyly at the door while looking at his soon to be classmates.

Her desires were soon calmed. She told herself that there would be plenty of chances to cuddle and spoil the kid on a later date.

'Call me biased or call him the teachers pet I will do my best to spoil and protect him!' She reaffirmed while nodding before turning to smile at the new kid.

If only she knew that the new kid could easily kill off the whole school if something made him tick. Who knows what she would think then.

Lingdao frowned lightly seeing the predatory glint on the teacher's eyes. She was fair looking.

Big bust. Thick thighs, long, black silky hair and clear light brown skin. Those glasses of hers served to compliment her look further. 
A woman in her early thirties. That's what she gave off.

Somehow, he felt threatened by the woman. As if, if he stayed near her he would be one day devoured.

He put it at the back of his mind again. Nodding at the teacher's words as a response.

The teacher fixed her glasses and cleared her throat. The soft melody of her voice prompting the students to listen in full attention.

"Everyone this is the new transfer student Guang Lingdao. Guang Lingdao step up front, write your name and tell us something about you. And oh! I nearly forgot. My name is Yu Yan. Class A's homeroom teacher!" She giggled after ending her words. Guang Lingdao finding it uncomfortable being stared at so intently by Yu Yan.

After writing his name, he cleared his throat and stared down at everyone in the class. 

"My name is Guang Lingdao. Six years old. Rank twenty three Soul Grandmaster with two yellow rings. My martial soul is this thing..." Guang Lingdao ended his words in hesitation.

His martial soul was black mouldable clay but now that it became a saber he didn't know what to call it anymore. He can still make loads of clay but the fact that his martial soul changed leaves a lot to question.

Just what soul skills would he get next after getting more spirit rings?

That was a question that he could only chalk up to fate. His mind was wealthy with knowledge but this particular subject was an unknown topic.

The kids went into an uproar upon seeing two yellow rings floating around Guang Lingdao. Yu Yan's smile stiffened and she took of her glassess. Wiped them with a fabric and wore them again.

'I really am not seeing things...' She bitterly smiled. Her lips twitching. 

'Thirty years.... And this kid...' Yu Yan felt her heart grow heavy and her breath taken away. She had spent thirty years after awakening her martial soul to cultivate bitterly up to her current rank fourty one soul ancestor level. 

The heavens are not fair! Six years old and this kid already has basically half of her cultivation!

Her legs softened and she fainted on the spot. Guang Lingdao retracted the floating sabre from his right arm and looked to his right.

Two mountain peaks quickly met his terrified face.

The two fell to the ground. Guang Lingdao being crushed underneath Yu Yan who found it difficult to breath.

'I'm suffocating!' The crisis of running out of air to breathe alarmed the kid. He tapped the ground repeatedly, his calm countenance replaced by an overly anxious one and clay started forming under him, turning into hands that shoved the mass thick flesh that Yu Yan was off him.

The clay hands set her down on the teacher's seat, rolling into a ball and jumping out the window. Meanwhile, Guang Lingdao was recoiling from the earlier encounter.

Soft... It was too soft.

He shook his head. 

Noticing the deadly glares directed at him by male students while the girls were a blushing mess.

One student who was far taller than his peers by a head roared out loud and brazenly shouted at him.

"LINGDAO! YOU, ME, BEHIND THE DORM ROOMS AT LUNCH!" The kid roared out a challenged. Face flushed red in anger.

Guang Lingdao was a late student. It was already two months since elementary classes started and a lot of kids had already developed a huge crush on their teacher Yu Yan.

Seeing someone else revel in a sensation that none of them would be able to experience from their goddess, jealousy burned in their hearts as their brain was overloaded with testosterone.

The only requirement to be a mecha designer was creativity, diligence and an open mind while understanding how mecha components worked.

They had to draw and design components of a mecha that fit together snugly like puzzle pices of one whole picture. Naturally they need to be able to draw well or else people would laugh at their design.

The designs had to take in consideration of materials, form, use, effect, and how soul circuits sould be carved on the components.

It wasn't easy. It was like mechanical engineering but ten times harder. If one thing goes wrong in the blueprint it would either result in two things.

Your mecha would have a defect.

Or you will explode. Simple as that.

Mecha Makers on the other hand needed to be able to understand the designs provided by Mecha Designers.

And it was up to them to carve soul circuits on the mecha components. 

If one were to put what Mecha Makers did in layman's terms. It is just like buying a motherboard for your expensive gaming pc.

Except it was you who had to make the motherboard and line it with electrical circuits.

Mechanics had to understand both Mecha Making and Mecha Designing. They were like hybrids that focused on repairing damaged mechas and sometimes assembling them.

The three branches of Mecha Crafting had one thing in common.

The Zi Luo Branch was located in a big building and only a part of the building belonged to the academy. Although the internal structure was also very equipped and was enough to satisfy daily teaching needs, there was a huge distinction between them.
The Heaven Luo Academy had a gigantic entrance, tall walls that surrounded both of its sides and it almost seemed like a dam. The tall buildings could be seen from afar, it was simply a complex of buildings and it was way bigger than the Zi Luo Branch.
"We're here. Xuanyu, this is where you'll be studying in the future and it could be called your second home." Mu Zhongtian smiled. He arrived at Lan Xuanyu's house early in the morning and especially accompanied him to the academy.
Obviously, ordinary students didn't have this treatment but Lan Xuanyu's case was unique and in order for the school to express their appreciation and the guilt in Mu Zhongtian's heart, he came down specially to bring Lan Xuanyu to report to school for the first time. With his guidance, everything was naturally much smoother.
"As there are elementary, intermediate and advanced districts in the school, it is indeed very big. Just the floor area and the number of teaching staff alone, we are the biggest in Heaven Luo Planet," Mu Zhongtian said.
"The school is divided into three levels. We will be going through the school gate soon and the one right in front is the elementary academy. All of the teaching, accommodation, and learning are done here. It is separated from the elementary and advanced academy. Following the elementary academy would be the intermediate academy which is twice its size because it has some subjects that need a bigger space. The one at the back is the advanced academy and it is the largest. It was ten times as big as the other academies combined as it includes a mecha faculty, a battleship command faculty, and other various important disciplines. It needs a lot of space."
Mu Zhongtian explained in detail not only for Lan Xuanyu but also for Lan Xiao, subtly hinting to Lan Xiao that allowing his child to study here was the right choice.
The Soul Guidance car entered the school gate and stopped in front of the teaching building. 
"This is the furthest I can allow the car to drive Mr. Lan, please be rest assured that I will definitely take good care of Xuanyu and the same problem will not happen again," Mu Zhongtian said.
Lan Xiao nodded. "I'll have to trouble you, then. Xuanyu, Daddy will fetch you home during the weekends."
"Alright. Daddy, if I miss you guys, can I call the both of you?" Lan Xuanyu asked pitifully. In Heaven Luo Academy, every student would have to live on campus, no matter the level and it was more so for the Elite Junior Class. They were allowed to go home for a day during the weekends, but they also might not be allowed to during training periods.
"Of course you can." Lan Xiao touched his son's head.
After Lan Xuanyu alighted, he lifted his head and looked at the gigantic teaching building. The white walls outside weren't excessively decorated and it gave one a solemn feeling. After Lan Xuanyu bid Lan Xiao farewell, he followed Mu Zhongtian into the building.
Report and registration. 
With Mu Zhongtian, everything went smoothly. After collecting his purple and white school uniform, Mu Zhongtian walked him through the main teaching building.
"The dormitory buildings are at the back and are separated by boys and girls dorms. Your classmates should be in class by now, so I'll bring you to your dormitory first and you'll begin lessons officially from this afternoon onwards. All the equipment in the Elite Junior Class is top-notch."
The interior of the dormitory building had clean white walls but they weren't ordinary materials, they were metal plates that were sprayed white. It looked clean and even brought about a tinge of seriousness and iciness.
"This level belongs to the Elite Junior Class and you are assigned to this room. Usually, a room would hold six people but for the Elite Junior Class, only three people would share it. So, again, this is your room, number 333."


Ten thousand years later, ice has melted. The Soul Federation Scientific Exploration team found an egg with a gold and silver pattern on it in the far north of the land, and after examining it with an apparatus, they found out that there were vital signs inside. They hurriedly brought it back to the institute for hatching.
The egg hatched, but it was a baby, a baby exactly the same as a human - a baby born out of an egg.

Winter break was only a few days away now, and this knowledge, coupled with the thought that everyone would be moving up a grade, increased the excitement in the classroom. The children were excited for the start of another break, while teachers dreaded the soon-to-come increase in paperwork. Diligent teachers would have already finished editing last year's student records and writing up student evaluations and progress reports, but most usually ended up procrastinating until the end of the year, resulting in a mountain of paperwork that now included everything that normally came with, well, the end of the year. Student records, after all, pertained to every student in the school, and there was even more paperwork involved for students graduating or moving up a grade. The decreased number of students meant that more experienced teachers made quick work of their papers, freeing enough time for them to plan out their break, but the others were left to slave away day and night trying to balance lesson plans and paperwork.

The teacher in charge of Class 1-3 was no different, and dark circles had settled under her eyes for quite a few days now. Nevertheless, she had still spend last evening sitting in her living room to watch TV, disregarding her pile of laundry and increasing paperwork, all because one of her own students, the school's celebrity and her own little pain in the neck, was making an appearance, all thanks to her tip to the broadcasting station. She felt almost obligated to watch, and honestly, she relished the opportunity to rest her tired mind and body. Even more honestly, she felt much too lazy to do anything.

Still, sitting there in front of the TV, waiting for the program to start, she felt a bit like some sort of mastermind, and she felt good knowing that this was her student. Perhaps all her colleagues or even parents would come to her tomorrow to ask all sorts of questions about her teaching methods, about how she taught a prodigy, or how prodigies studied. Maybe they'll even ask about what it's like to deal with a prodigies and all the pros and cons.

The program lasted 50 minutes, with Lucid appearing in a twenty minute clip. And yet, the more Hee Yeon watched, the more confused she felt. This wasn't the child she knew. The whole time, she mumbled to herself, "He's not like that. He's much more..." and scratched her head. The Lucid she knew was much more vibrant, more clever, and asked questions that she could never have imagined. He displayed a genius that had baffled her, and yet onscreen, he appeared to be no different from any smart kid on the block. After being introduced as a first grader with a keen interest in physics, he had passed a preliminary test with flying colors, which was amazing, yes. But then the IQ test results were revealed, and he had scored lower than most other children who were labeled as prodigies. Then they cut to a science high school teacher explaining some theories, and then went on to show Lucid being excited about an experiment. Hee Yeon knew that he was excited over the precise numbers and calculations, but the audience had no way of knowing that, and simply thought the experiment must have looked cool to a child his age. All in all, the program had done nothing to convey just how amazing and extraordinary Lucid was.

The science teacher had gone on to end the interview with a rather puzzled look.

"It's normal for elementary school children to be curious about their surroundings and and to want to learn more about science." he had said.

But it wasn't normal at all! He was the only one in Hee Yeon's class to even care about anything like that!

"But it's wonderful to see this curiosity being taken to the next level, to the point that he would take on more advanced topics in an effort to lean more about what he wants to know. That's not that common. The fact that he's still in elementary school is really quite a surprise." The interview continued.

But he wasn't just any elementary schooler! He's in first grade! He only started receiving education last year!

"Given his passion and willingness to learn, I'm sure we can expect great things from him. I, for one, am rooting for him."

Why won't they just admit that he's a genius? That he was amazing, a true marvel, and that everyone as a society should help him prosper??

Hee Yeon quickly grew bored. Perhaps her expectations had been too high, or perhaps she had mistakenly thought that she knew more about him that she actually did. The program ended like that, on a very, very boring note, and Hee Yeon found herself browsing through the program's forums, eager to see if others thought the same way.

"Is that the library kid from social media? He's cute."
"Is he mixed? Look at his nose. Damn."
"His eye color looks really strange. Is it because of the lights? Or am I going crazy?"
"A child who's into physics? That's sorta boring as a topic, isn't it? And today's show seemed really forced. Stop pushing kids to fit your definition of a prodigy."
"Do elementary schoolers really not know linear equations? Like, is he really the only one?"

Hee Yeon hadn't thought of it before, since she had grown accustomed to it, but it seemed that people were more interested in Lucid's looks. Most of the posts were about how good-looking he was, and the few posts that discussed his intelligence all seemed to agree that he didn't qualify as a prodigy.

In actuality, there weren't that many posts to begin with. Had the show failed to attract people's attention? Hee Yeon regretted her decision to watch it in the first place. She could have gotten so much done. Like her laundry, for example. Sighing to herself, she sat at her desk, once again focusing on her paperwork.

"Come on, Jang. We have a lot more children lined up. Let's get ready for the next episode."
"We just have to make sure the next episode is better. Don't let it get to you, and don't be so disappointed."
"Views aren't everything. We did well to show the issues with today's education system. It's alright. Don't sweat it."

The last to visit him had been Nayeon, the youngest writer. She looked like she was about to cry, apologizing with a trembling voice. They had avoided hitting the lowest views since the birth of the program, "Looking for Prodigies," but when compared to last week's episode of a child figuring out car models simply from the sound of the brakes and helping the police identify stolen cars, the views had dropped by 4%.

"You have nothing to apologize for." said Jang reassuringly. "It's my fault for not capturing it right."

Of course, their program relied much more on the topic and story themselves than on presentation, but that didn't mean that he could blame Nayeon for the episode flopping. If they had focused on his looks in the first place, the views would have been much higher, so in the end, it really had been an issue of presentation. Jang knew this was a reach, and he felt angry at how unfair this all was, but he also knew that it couldn't be helped. With the end of the year approaching, he would have to move mountains to schedule another shoot, and it was difficult to clean this mess up, as no one had predicted this would happen. Because it had been so unexpected, though, Jang had been able to get out of this without so much as a reprimand from the higher ups. That didn't make him feel any better though, and he couldn't bring himself to leave the editing room.

"Sir, I got it."
"Good. So, this is the footage?"

A man, roughly in his early 50's, received a file and a USB from his secretary.

"Yes, sir. We stopped it from going on air, in exchange for an advertisement. It's taken care of." The secretary reported, pushing up his gold-framed glasses. Given the nature of their product, airing an advertisement during a time where their main demographic was busy was nothing short of throwing money in the wind. Still, it was a necessary cost in order to carry out more secret dealings with broadcasting stations. This time was no different. The footage in question would have seriously hurt the company's reputation, so buying it out was a great gain for them. For the station, they clipped out a less than satisfactory video in exchange for an ad, resulting in a great gain there, as well. That Jang wouldn't be penalized for the drop in views was just a bonus.

"Did you get it analyzed?"
"Yes, sir. We've already conducted the first round of testing, comparing that footage to the video we got from the high school."
"First round?" the man asked, looking up at his secretary from the pile of documents in the file.
"I mean, the report was baffling for us all, sir. It was a general consensus that one analysis wouldn't be enough to fully comprehend the situation."
"So?"
"We will conduct more in-depth analyses and experiments. Our research team is on it, sir."
"What happens if the footage is real?"
"The experiment was only conducted three times, so the validity of the results is dubious at best. But if we were to assume they are accurate... Then whatever they used is seven times more effective than our product, sir."
"Seven times..."
"If even a second of that footage had been broadcasted, it would have caused enough uproar to flip our entire industry around."
"That data, though... It can't possibly be real, can it?"
"No, sir. Even our researchers are doubting it. We tested all the products they used even before the episode aired, and it just isn't plausible that such results would pop up all of a sudden. But we can't dismiss it, either. We have a few people determined that the footage is unaltered and real."
"..."

The secretary cleared his throat and straightened up a bit.

"For now, we should leave it to our researchers. I will report their findings as soon as we get more information."
"Do they know?"
"The other company? No, sir. It's a stroke of luck that we found out about it in the first place. Remember Director Park's son? He was there during the experiment, and he contacted us as soon as he realized something was off."
"I'll have to meet up with him, have a drink or something." the man grumbled, tapping the USB against the desk as he thought. "Oh, and figure something out for a scholarship. And tell those researchers that I want results quick."

So many requests, and all over the place, too. The secretary bowed his head in understanding and left the room.

Winter break brought along another exciting event: Christmas. The institute was alight with decorations and fairy lights, having been set up as early as the beginning of December. The small, decorative trees were covered in lights, and the hallways inside were lined with paper flowers and garlands. All in all, Christmas was no different in the institute than in any other part of the city. The many volunteers and welfare facilities helped set up a wonderful Christmas spirit, and the children were also spending their days in a flurry of excitement and anticipation for their presents and other fun events.

Lucid was also enjoying himself. The TV program had renewed his interest in physics, and he was now looking forward to studying more in-depth about it. Still, the filming itself had been a dull affair. He found it much too inefficient, what with having to go from place to place and wait around for this and that. If only he had spent that time reading, then he could have at least learned new things.

But something even more exciting than all that had appeared at the institute.

"Whoa, look at that. So many!"
"Are there comic books here?"
"Ugh, only plaster face reads this stuff. Whatever."

A library opened inside the institute.
