I felt uneasy as this stranger pulled me out of the subway station and we're back to see the main road once again. My eyes would shift on his hand, then on his broad back facing me now, then back to his hand again. I am still holding my trolley back on my other hand.
What is actually happening around here? What does he need from me anyway? Could it be that he's a member of that famous syndicate who sells girls abroad? Or is he a part of a black organization and would want me to be a part of their sketchy group?
There is no freaking way I would involve myself in those kinds of illegal activities.
Gathering all my courage and willpower altogether, I suddenly decided to bite his hand which caused him to let go of me easily and waved it off.
"Why did you do that for--- hey! Come back here!"
I heard him scream from behind as soon as I started running away from him again with this stupid heavy trolley bag right behind me. Knowing that he still chases after me, I ran as fast as I can until I reached the marketplace of Citadel.
Tears started rolling down my cheeks as I was thinking of all the unfortunate things that happened to me this day. First I was unable to find a cheap place to rent, then I got robbed, and then this?
Could this day get even worse?!
Geez, I know I shouldn't have stolen my mom's savings and ran away! All of the things happening to me right now are a product of karma!
I unconsciously turned my head to my right and found a dark alley with wooden boxes piled together and where there are no people lurking. As soon as I made sure that the guy is now out of sight behind me, I went for a right turn and swiftly ran my way towards this dark alley. Just to make sure, I've hidden behind these wooden boxes.
Beads of sweat started to emerge from my forehead but I managed to wipe it off with my free hand. I took my time to catch my breath first before heaving out a sigh that I've been holding on for hours now.
"There you are!"
What the--?!
I suddenly let out a shriek when I saw that same stranger earlier now standing in front of me... like he just magically appeared out of nowhere.
Is he a wizard too?
Well, okay enough of that stupid thought. I need to think of a way to outrun this suspicious stranger.
"Do you really think you could run away from me?" I heard him say.
Wahhhh... I suddenly remembered that evil villain I saw on tv back home. He does look and sound like that, minus the evil laugh.
What to do... what to do...what to do--
AHA!
I tried to concentrate and tried to remember the very first and only spell that I've learned from my father's wizard book, which I stole by the way and is placed now inside my backpack. If I could just succeed with this spell, I could get out of this mess and be teleported to whatever place just to be away from here.
And now... I shut my eyes and tried to chant the said spell.
"Transportium Nextorbitorium!"
The moment I opened my eyes once again, I saw the stranger now out of sight. My eyes went round and my hands flew over to my mouth as I jumped up and down like a retarded kid.
"Oh my gosh, I did it! That guy is now out of my sight! Haha!" I happily said.
"Says who?"
My forehead creased as I heard that familiar husky voice of the stranger right behind me. And that's when I realized that I just teleported a few inches away from him, but I'm still in this same dark alley which I chose to hide earlier. I facepalmed myself for that stupid mistake I did.
I was just about to run away from him again when I heard him chant a spell.
"Prohibere  Obstupefacio!"
In an instant, I felt my body froze all of a sudden. I tried to move even just my right hand, but I can't. What the heck, is this a freezing spell he used on me? Why you little son---
"Geez. I'm all tired of that running you made me do earlier, so might as well freeze you to your place," he says before I could feel his strong arms scooping me from my place and carrying me just like how you carry a sack of rice!
I wanted to shout for help so that other people around this market would be aware that I am now being kidnapped by this stranger. Yet even if I wanted to, my mouth was frozen as well, thus preventing me from opening it.
Where does he think he would be taking me to?!
In the end, I can't do anything else but to accept my defeat. I mentally heaved out a sigh and said my farewell in advance.
Mom... dad... sorry if I failed you and didn't become a wizard like I was hoping to become. I'm sorry mom for stealing your savings, I'm sorry onii-chan for stealing your home-made melon bread earlier. I'm sorry family... for running away from home. See you soon, dad... I guess... but I hope not too soon.
"We're here!"
While I was busy uttering my farewells to each of my family, I heard again that same voice of my kidnapper. Only my eyeballs could move after he struck me with his freezing spell earlier, so when I looked up to know where that 'here' he's referring to, I was quite stunned to see a beautiful castle standing majestically in front of us.
Holy cow! I was actually imagining earlier to be brought in an abandoned building, or something like that. But what are we freaking doing in a castle right now?!
"You're heavy, from someone who's small as you." I heard him comment before walking once again.
That's because of my bags, you idiot! If I can just only move now, I would have swung this trolley bag right at your face!
As soon as the guards opened up the enormous doors of the castle, this kidnapper of mine hurriedly went inside it. After that, the doors were closed once again.
I marveled in awe to see the expensive-looking furniture placed at the grand lobby of the castle, with a luxurious-looking chandelier made of silver with several branches stretching forth from its body which holds several bulbs in it, giving light to the whole lobby.
However, I wasn't able to completely scrutinize the whole place when this guy quickly passed through it and brought me into a spacious room where a long, rectangular wooden table stood in the middle of the room, with several chairs placed on the sides.
At last, this stranger placed me back on my feet and cast a spell to let me move once again. As soon as I was able to move, I accusingly pointed my right index finger at him and shouted at the top of my lungs.
"Why did you kidnap me for? My family is not that rich to pay you the ransom you'll be asking, nor they even know that I am here! I'm supposed to be finding a place to stay before school starts tomorrow. And what are we doing in a CASTLE by the way?!" I shouted in one breath.
"You're annoying. Would you like to be frozen once again?" This guy arched one eyebrow as he looked at me.
"Why you little son of a b--"
I was about to curse this moron when we heard the loud creaking of the door behind us, which caused us to automatically turn around to see who it was. My forehead instantly creased upon seeing two unfamiliar personas entering this room.
One is a tall looking lad as well with long wavy hair dyed in a yellowish-gold color but has manly features in his face and body and a captivating aqua blue almond-shaped eyes.
The other one is also a teenage boy that I think is about my age, who's also quite tall, has curly undercut ebony black hair with a round face, strong and well-defined jaw, hooded hazel brown eyes, and red lips which are now pressed together.
"Alex! What's with all this fuss going around here?" I heard the tall guy with long wavy hair speak for the very first time.
"And I thought you've already gone for your meeting with the chief of Citrus Town?" The other teenage boy added.
"Well, as you can see, I've run into something... unexpected." the kidnapper said and scratched the back of his neck.
That's the time that both of these new faces looked at me at the same time. The moment they laid their eyes on me, I've seen both of their reactions turned into a bewildered one, just like what I saw from my kidnapper earlier.
"Alex... where did you find this girl?" asked the long wavy-haired guy again.
"Down on the subway station." he immediately replied.
My forehead creased as I noticed all three of them started to speak in hushed voices. Well, hello? I'm still here! And I still don't have any single clue as to why I'm here in the first place!
Later on, the long wavy-haired guy turned to me once again with a smile plastered on his face, emitting some friendly aura within him.
"Forgive us for what our friend here may have done to you. I am Lancelott, the archbishop of Citadel," he said. Then I saw his hands pointing at the guy who brought me here. "Then this is Alex, the captain of the magic army... and this is Lucas, one of the royal high counselors." And finally, his hands pointed at this curly guy in front of me who waved at me in return.
W-w-wait, aren't these guys the same age as mine? Or maybe one to two years older than me? How come they have such high responsibilities... for their age?
"The whole kingdom of Gilead is experiencing a crisis right now upon the disappearance of our prince and master wizard Prince Arthur Spellman. I'm afraid that without his presence in the kingdom, our enemies would take that opportunity to invade Gilead."
My hands flew over to my mouth as I heard that. I just got here for heaven's sake! I can't afford to let the kingdom fall in its enemies' hands!
"Thus we will be asking for your help, miss...?" The guy paused for a moment and waited for me to introduce myself.
"Krisella," I replied.
"Miss Krisella. We will be asking for your help in order for us to solve this crisis...by pretending to be Gilead's prince and master wizard." the guy continued.
I gave them a questioning look. What the heck did I just hear?
"Wait, what? What are you all saying?! I can't pretend to be someone I'm not!" I said in disbelief.
"To simplify things here..." that curly-haired guy named Lucas decided to chime in. "In other words to what Lancelott here is saying..."
His hooded eyes stared at me for a split second before he continued.
"...we will need your face."

A youth, looking like someone who is not even older than 15-16 can be seen doing some push-ups in a small and shabby room.

He was bare-chested and was full of sweat. Trickling on his forehead, slightly blocking his view. Though it didn't stop him from continuing his push-up.

"... 98, 99, 100." The youth finally stopped doing some push-ups when his count reached a hundred. He then sat on the floor and leaned his back on the small bed behind him.

He sighed while he wipes his sweats, "It is already so bright outside. I should start preparing for class."

From the outside, the sun's light had invaded his darkroom, brightly illuminating it. The coldness of dawn had also already disappeared and the warmth of the sun was starting to permeate in the surroundings.

Resting for about a few minutes, the boy stood up. Directly heading towards the tiny bathroom and then cleaning his body until he washed off the sweats from his body. Satisfied, he left the bathroom after drying himself.

He then changes to his robes, given by the school. It was just a simple designed yellow robe, with an image of a phoenix under a small cloud. After that, he went out of his room, welcoming the warm heat of the sun.

"Another day, another me." He said and then proceeding to walk.

On his way, he encounters many other students wearing the same robes. He even saw others wearing blue and red robes, which signifies that they are of a higher grade than him.

The path walk he was treading was made of a special type of material called the Soft Rock. It is a type of material that is greatly used in making roads and is one of the most common material at the first-tier of Gamma grade.

The academy, using such material on their path walks just shows how financially stable and powerful they are. Though almost all of the existing academies in this kingdom are of the same, the Cloud Phoenix Academy reigns at the top.

Founded by the Cloud Mage, famous for controlling the clouds like the back of his hand and seemingly controlling the weather. The academy is really well-known for having a solid foundation thus, it is built at the capital of the kingdom.

"There will be only one class today. I should continue figuring out if that game is real or not." The boy said to himself, not bothering about the few students who are pointing and laughing at him.

"Look over there! Isn't that Khein, who is known for being unable to cast even a level-1 Mortal rank spell!"

"Is that so? I also heard that he scored 0 at the Monthly Exam and was scolded by Teacher Joseph."

"You guys are all outdated. Haven't you all heard that he had actually tried courting Orianna?"

"What?! He actually dared to court the most beautiful girl in the academy?! Isn't he afraid of Garry?!"

"Who knows…"

The boy named Khein had actually heard what they were talking about, it's only that he didn't bother since it was not a big deal.

If those people find out what he was thinking, they would surely spit blood due to frustration.

Not being able to cast a level-1 Mortal rank spell is not a big deal? The Sophomores should already be able to cast at least a level-9 Mortal rank spell.

Scoring zero at the Monthly Exam is not a big deal? Even just scoring a little close to the half of the total score is already scary enough for a student.

Courting Orianna is not a big deal? She's the proclaimed number one beauty in the academy and her genius admirers could line up for hundreds of meters.

All of these things and Khein did not even have the slightest bit change in his expression. He was like someone who was not even afraid of the consequences and was not bothered by such 'small matters'.

Though in actuality, Khein had also no idea that a great part of him had already changed without him knowing. If he had just stopped and thought of it clearly, it was not normal for him to act so calmly after the mention of those things.

"Where should I try out that reward? That mission was really unreasonable, the reward should be worth it." Khein said. Remembering the thing that he had to endure doing just to finish a certain mission.

Heading towards his classroom, Khein was unaware that what he had done yesterday had caused a very large uproar. News of someone openly courting the academy's number one beauty had already spread throughout the campus.

Some of these students are not even a stranger to the name Khein, as this name had repeatedly appeared from time to time. And in each time causing a large disturbance in the academy that made him quite unforgettable.

Duw wondered as she walked to the healing hall why it was even in existence, surely if everyone could heal what was the use of it? as she approached she could see the large building it had two white double doors one an entrance and one an exit, the walls were white and bland like everywhere else however inside was another story one area had children of her age all resting on large beanbags or something similar, it was obvious they were hurt as one had her leg bent at an odd angle, one had a large discoloration most likely a bruise, and the area was colorful and had lots of pictures, the adult area had lots of large comfy chairs and adults with complex looking injuries as well, an older lady with long silver hair waved her over and introduced herself as Elder healer Silvia, Duw posed the question to her immediately to which she laughed,

"Your a sharp little one ain't ya? most are here a while before they think of that, well hon you know that you and all kids your age can use light magic, but it's not permanent, after about age 14 unless your core has developed and awoken you'll lose that power, it's a gift for the young from Divine lady Hoggan," she replied smiling,

Duw remembered from history that Divine Lady Frances Hoggan was one of the first to use magic and eventually ascended to become a god with the four others, Samtan the lord of flame, Fforind the master of waves, Ghast the ruler of the skies, and Gerian the grounded.

Elder Silvia cleared up the misconception Duw had held for a long time, not everyone could use healing magic, thinking back she realized that everyone she had seen using healing magic who wasn't a child had signs of core awakening such as the white skin on the fingers ect. looking now she saw with more clarity, such as the children in the corner were too young to use strong healing magic and so their injuries were too serious for them to heal, but Duw was excited, this is what she really wanted to do, she learned fast, using spells correctly and also learning how to use just enough magic so she didn't exhaust herself, she followed along behind Silvia and other staff for hours, eventually she started healing under supervision and impressed the staff with her understanding, control, and her much bigger than normal magic reserve.

It wasn't until she was almost home that the excitement wore off and she realized she had stood out again, she began cursing her young excitable body and it's inability to think properly.

But she soon discovered it was not easy to lay low, in the next few months her performance at school, her outstanding healing at the hall (she couldn't hold back at all), and her skyrocketing grades made her well known in town, mostly everyone knew about her from the healing hall.

It was one innocuous day when she was getting a few things from town for her mother when a stranger called her into a shop saying they needed help, although she was a bit cautious there were many people crowded round, so she went in, there were two uniformed officers there with a angry looking man sat between them cuffed and collared, the collar prevented the use of magic and was only held by law enforcement officers, one officer walked over to her,

"sorry to ask you young lady, but we are worried that he won't last, you are staff at the healing hall so we were hoping you could help?" and he led her to a man on the floor, he was covered in blood and had a knife in his side, although she hadn't seen someone in such a bad way she was confident she could help, as the officer thought she wasn't coping and began to apologize she bent down put a hand oh his head then his mouth, felt his neck, she then pulled the knife out, pressed her hand onto the wound and began to cast.

Born into a new life, she has to find her place in this world, but a lurking corruption stands in her way.

For children and parents on Veru, Veru being the name of the planet I've reincarnated on which I learned from the books in my chest, is the most important day for parents expecting great magic from their children. Once a child reaches age two, their body's magical network usually fully develops. In cases such as genius children, mana networks have been seen being developed as early as eight-months-old. However, in every child no matter the latent talent or abilities, their networks will be completed at age two. So, in essence, I've been casting with a handicap for the last year and a half!
I learned all of this within the months leading up to my birthday, since for about six to eight hours a day, sometimes even longer, I'm left completely unsupervised, as my parents need to do quests, train and work out together, keep the house in order, etc. So, once I'm left unsupervised, I either meditate and train within that state, or open my chest and continue to read.
 At this point, I can move around freely within my meditative stance, I think I'm gonna call this state a trance from now on, however it comes with a few burdens. First of all, I cannot cast any spells, as I'm focusing on spreading my mana throughout my body, as well as absorbing mana from the surrounding area. Second of all, it is a huge mental burden to keep doing. As an example, try to count to one thousand in your mind whilst reading a book out loud, eventually, you can do it, but it requires much more focus. This is how it feels to keep the mana balanced and spread throughout my body, as well as work and move and pay attention effectively. 
Of course, the benefits highly outweigh the drawbacks, as I can hear noticeably better, see noticeably farther, and I feel overall stronger and more agile. Of course, there's no way to prove how much stronger yet, but I have a good idea. I used my training dagger and thrust it as hard as possible at my dummy, and it left a small indent on its chest. I then tried the same thing however this time I was in my Trance state, and it made a very small cut. So, the boost given might not be much, but it does exist. 
Outside of developments with my Trance state, I've been able to read two of the books completely. I know I know, in eight months I should have been able to finish all three, but I wanted to test and learn and absorb all the information from the first two before I moved onto the third.
 After I finished reading "Intro to Magic" I decided to move on to reading "Playing With Affinities", skipping over custom spells until I knew my affinities and what I would need later on. Besides, I've been wondering something ever since I thought Gary was an intruder, and the book "Playing with Affinities" answered a large section of that. When I demonstrated my dome to my father, he called it "upper-tier". If a simple dome was upper tiered, then was I naturally suited to barrier magic, or were barriers seriously under-developed? The answer I got, a little bit of both. 
Only about one out of every three people are born with a shred of latent magical talent, and that chance only gets lower and lower the more affinities a person has. An affinity is a certain predisposition to being able to cast certain magic, a person with a fire-magic affinity will find it easier to ignite their mana, and have fire-based spells consume less mana for the effect. The average person has only one affinity, and the most powerful mage the world had ever seen, known as the Mad Sage within the book, had affinities with seven types of magic.
Any person with magical talent can cast any spell, but they'll be limited by the insane mana cost of some spells if they don't have an affinity for that certain element. I should probably mention, through both books I've been able to find out every branch of magic. In order of most common magics to have affinities with to the rarest, we have Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Illusion, Enhancement, Lightning, Space, Light, and Barrier. 
The small orbs I found also are used to further indicate affinities, the glow and amount of light given off indicating if you have the affinities and to what extent. So, with that, I was able to find out generally my affinities. My strongest affinity is to Barrier magic, followed by Enhancement and  Lightning magic, then finally Space and Wind magic, which is interesting. Although I've been practicing nothing but Barrier and Wind magic, Wind magic is my lowest quality affinity. Even stranger, of course, is although lightning is supposed to be one of my best, I've yet to be able to even attempt to try it. 
Now, where was I? Oh yeah, my birthday. Anyhow, this year is not much different from last year, a few more forgettable faces came by, I got some neat new things, such as a learning tool to "learn" how to read and write, even though the letters and language in this world are basically just English with extra dots, dashes, and different pronunciations. Yeah, compared to last year's gifts of a mysterious magical ring and a pair of training daggers, this year of new clothes and stuff to have me learn to read and write seem pretty meh in comparison, still, it's nice to be appreciated by people. 
After my uncle and aunt left, and after a small visit from Gary and two other unnoteworthy people, it was about mid-day and my parents seemed excited about something. 
"Are ya ready to go Aero? We're headed to the temple today! There they can determine what, besides barriers obviously, you're good at! Aren't you at all excited."
Well, I would be, if I didn't already know what affinities I had. Man, this is why spoilers are so bad. It completely ruins the excitement of not knowing! Whatever, I guess I need to try and seem excited, it's not like I don't know what's coming, right? 
The ride to the temple took about two hours, as I got to learn what type of transportation there is in this world. Apparently, this world still relies on carts and enclosed carriages/buggies. However, they're "powered" by a magical crystal placed on the back of the carriage, propelling it forward, and the output of said crystal being controlled by the driver feeding it more or less mana. The cart wasn't slow by any means, moving at speeds easily over forty miles per hour, but it just feels slow compared to the cars of Earth.

Due to a few mistakes and stepping on a few too many toes, Keith Manowar, a career thief, and self-proclaimed "heist artist" is given a choice. die for good or be reborn in another world! However, he asks for one specific thing in this new world, magic.

"It's happening! Its finally time! Quick! Quick! We must get you to an Attunal Room! Oh this is so exciting! Haha!" A very excitable young woman was rushing through smooth stone halls, her hand clasped in the palm of a young and starry-eyed Stara Azelle.
They dashed through the halls recklessly, nearly overturning a sun-stone stand, a group of the elderly, and at least one odd minecart filled with flowers. Following closely behind them was a young man of thin stature, the model definition of a scholar. Complete with books and ancient robes, of which he was quite proud and would clean every night.
"Please slow down!" Liters legs got caught up in his robe. While very good at completing his scholarly image, they were not very good for running, apparently. "Isn't running like that bad for the child!?"
"Bah! What do you know" The young lady dragging Stara turned back and scoffed at the librarian. A teasing light could be seen in her eyes. 
Stara smiled sympathetically at Liter. Liter smiled wryly in return. They were both too familiar with this young lady to try to reason with her. However, the energetic woman was not out of line. In truth, the people of Tapestry could run a marathon while sick and labored without much extra effort.
Stara was towards the end of her pregnancy expecting her first child any day now, and though it wasn't exactly comfortable running around, it really did not pose any problems. Their physical dispositions have always been very sturdy.
As they passed, people who recognized them called out, asking about the child. When they heard it would be here soon congratulations would ring out in the halls.
For the humans of Tapestry, births were a rare thing. On average, the oldest that they could age was 500 years. As such, their birth rate was very low. Only a few children would be born a year. Just a couple years ago, a very strong fire-attuned child was born, to have another potentially strong powerhouse come so soon left the entire conclave excited.
There was endless talk about it. Guesses to the attunement and strength of the child. Some thought it would fall on the mother's side, others the father.
When seen, close family who recognized them began to join the run, following along, saying their greetings. It was a very heartwarming scene.
"Will someone go inform Elder Azelle to meet us in the attunal room?" Liter called out, his thin frame easily becoming lost in the growing stampede of family.  It had always been custom that an elder preside over a birth. 
"Already done!" a voice yelled out from the stampede, somehow managing to be heard over the patting of bare feet on stone.
They arrived in the halls of the attunal rooms after only a few minutes. The walls here were smooth and soft to the touch despite being carved from the same stone as the rest of Tapestry. A gentle breeze flowed through the halls, sun stones lined with ceiling providing a warm glow, on the breeze - a light mist carried pleasant outer world scents.
Because of the remote nature of Tapestry, built into the earth as it is, none of these things were natural. In a room above the attunal halls, people sat bringing the energy out from different elemental stones and dispersing it to make the area feel almost heavenly. Especially so for the people of Tapestry.
The closest friends and family of Stara went with her to a subdivided room as the rest waited in the courtyard, talking and catching up.
At this moment a small girl made her way to Stara, "Stara! Stara! Can I come too!" 
This small girl was Adria, the girl born 4 years ago with an astonishing fire affinity. True to her attunement, her entire being screamed unrestrained energy. She wasn't too pale, despite living in the cave city of Tapestry her whole life. She had a stack of bright red hair, and eyes that looked like a sea of flames. She practically glowed with fiery light.  
In fact, she really did glow red.
If there were a stranger in Tapestry, the first thing they would notice would be the people. 
The people of Tapestry are a race unique to themselves. Humans, but with skin tones the color of earth. Varying colors across the board, some are white or speckled like granite, brown like soil, or dark like stone. The men are all bald, while the women all have very full healthy hair, of all sorts of colors.
The second thing a stranger would notice would be that it was never truly dark as long as a citizen of Tapestry was around. Every person glowed. Along the bodies of everyone who is born in Tapestry, are lines of power. Like veins, glowing with light on the surface of the ski. It looked eerily similar to the lines in marble stone. These lines are colored depending on people's affinities, flowing with elemental and universal power.
Little Adria had lines orange like lava that seemed to pulse on her skin. To have power that bright at such a young age was truly a unique and curious circumstance.
Stara looked at Adria with love, ever since Adria had found out that Stara was pregnant, she had visited often to check in on her. At times she even seemed to contest Stara in excitement for the child.
"Of course Adria," Stara rustled her hair, "I would love if you would be there for him." Adria beamed up at her. Everyone looking on was fond of the young girl and no one objected.
They made their way into a room specifically for nourishing a newborn, all at once people spread out to put items of special essences and elemental stones on the croppings in the wall. For a newborn, one of their most important aspects would be their affinity and attunement. As such friends and family would not be shy in filling the room with as much of the essences of attunement as they can.
There was a knock on the door, it cracked open and someone looked in. "I... Mi sorry, the elder won't be able to make it. There was an accident in the mine… the elder is there trying to help."
Some of the family in the room cast worried looks at each other, to not have an elder preside over the birth was for the most part unheard of. It was not that the elder was necessary for the birth though. As they all have very high resiliency, a simple birth poses no threat for them.
"It's okay, please tell the elder to expect a strong and healthy child." Stara felt no anxiety at all, she has been preparing for this day for almost a year. Elder or not she was determined to have an incredible child.
The door closed, and the room quieted down. All light within the room was that which pulsed out of every person's body. Especially Adria.
"Alright Everyone!" The librarian moved forward with a book and pencil in hand. "Please start suppressing your energies." The room immediately dimmed even further, darkening it into almost pure blackness.
Adria screwed up her face as she tried to suppress the raging energy within her small form. After a moment of concentration, she could only dim it halfway. She cast a worried glance towards the adults around her, who were now waiting. Before anyone had a chance to say anything, Stara took off her coat and laid it lightly over the girl's shoulders.
Adria smiled up at her, a bright and thankful smile.
In the first moment a child is born, their body glows with the attunement they will most likely inherit when they mature and it solidifies. This is considered a very important moment that will set the child in the right direction for their future. It is said that when Adria was born, it was so bright the people in the room were subsequently blinded for the minute after.
Time passed, and the tension rose. Many hours swept by in dark silence. They could tell it would be soon. A small gasp escaped from Stara. Her breath sped up by a touch.
"Adria?"
"Yes Stara?" She responded nervously. Though she was usually rambunctious, in this moment she was feeling very timid.
"Hold my hand."
"Mm."
A short time passed in the darkness with subtle breathing filling the chamber. 
Stara broke the Silence.
"It's coming."
Everyone focused on Stara, the room was tense. Stara's mother was there to swaddle the baby when it came.
Stara yelled out and gave a large push! Excitement shown on everyone's faces as they prepared for light of a newborn to flood the room... Stara's mother held the newborn child…
but…
There was no light.
There was no glow…
Stara immediately realized what occurred.
"No…" her whole body shook. "No…." Her soft and calm voice cracked as she whispered to herself, staring at her mother.
Adria did not fully understand but she knew something was wrong. Stara's mother swaddled up the boy. "Stara… I am so sorry." 
Everyone in the room broke through their shock and began rushing over to Stara to comfort her.
At this moment though, an unmistakable and unexpected cry rang out. This cry did not belong to Stara.
The cry of a newborn. 
For the second time the room froze.

"He's… Alive?!"
"I can't feel any energy off him!"
"Where's his light!"
"He's crying?! Out Loud!?"

To understand the degree of shock which filled the small room in Tapestry at this moment, there is a third thing a stranger would need to notice about the people of Tapestry. It was completely silent within the city. 
Since the dawn of time the people of Tapestry have never needed to speak out loud. Every person is telepathically linked with each other. Thus, even newborns never cry out loud. Until this day.
