This will be a book of one-shots that I think of I won't be following an update schedule because of school so I will only be writing when I have time or when I feel like writing.

"Uhmnnn s-sure." she said and he reaches the pendant that was on the middle of her t-shirt covered breast. 

He took it and started to examine it. Then his face suddenly changes into shock and disbelief.

"Grampa what is wrong? You look as if you know something about that necklace." the lady asked her grandfather.
     
The old man rubs his jaw and played his long beard as he looks at Annelia. 

"Lily would you mind bringing me that box down from my last drawer." He said as he looks at his granddaughter that he just called Lily. 

"Is it the one with a lock?" the old man nod and Leny head back to the door where they both saw her grandfather walk in. 

"By the way my name is Benzamine III Conjar and my granddaughter is Leny Mae. You can call me Ben." 

"You can also call me Leny." They all turn to see the lady coming out of the door holding a padlocked box in top of her both hands. She laid the box on his grandfather's lap and took his cane as she put it on the side of the chair a few meters away from them. 

"M-my name is Regie and she is Annelia." Regie answered when Annelia was so silent. 

"Come sit beside me and let us discuss about that necklace. But first tell me how you come in ownership of that in the first palace." Mr. Benzamine said as the two seats in front him and Leny seat beside her grandfather. 

"Uhmnnn I accidentally meet this man in my classroom he just gave it to me and uhmnn he then left." Annelia said omitting the part where she was harassed by that crazy stranger. 

"Sorry I cannot do anything to help you get rid of that necklace. But I can tell you how you can get it off." 

"H-how?" Annelia said as she and Regie both look at him. 

"That necklace can be taken off... only by the one who has placed it on your neck." 

"Y-you mean I cannot take this off my whole life if he won't appear!?" Annelia burst upon hearing what Mr. Benzamine said. 

"Yes but frit not, I know you will meet him again, SOON. (He unlocked the box and took an old ancient looking book) Here, read this Miss Annelia it might help you when the time comes." 

"T-thank you b-but what is this for. I-I mean what is in this book?" she asked in confusion. 

"You will know, read it at home to find out. If you have any question about it just come and we will talk about it. It's nice knowing you, FINALLY." He said that Annelia get more confused. 

They both rise to head out when Regie turned. 

"Si-sir can I… can I ask something? (The old man smiled and nod) Is that real or not?" Regie asked and Annelia also look at him questioningly. 

"Ah! You ask if it's real or fake. That necklace is beyond real. The price of that necklace is beyond what you can see. As the OWNER of that, YOU can own not just the land but the whole world…. but most specially the SEA itself. If we give price to it here, it will cost million...no.....billions. Ahhhhh one more thing Miss Annelia, I advise you to hide that under your t-shirt. Don't go on telling to people that the necklace is worth dying for OR your life will be in danger.  This world is full of---violence; people kill each other for money and fame. You can't even know which one you can trust and which one you have to be cautious with. Miss Annelia I warn you be very…very careful." Mr. Benzamine said as they both said their thanks and left. Annelia even got confused by Mr. Benzamine's words. What does he mean by the worth of that necklace can own the whole world and the sea?


Annelia was thinking about what Mr. Benzamine have said as she lies on her bed. She remembers the old book the old man gave her so she got up and took the old book on her backpack and starts to scan it. She then found out that the books content is a story. And a family chart with name and picture... a weird family chart of some people who lived in a kingdom called Asheville. 

"A fantasy story, how can this solve my problem about this necklace? And why did Mr. Benzamine give it to me?" she said in confusion. 

After an hour of reading that thick old book she finally closes it and places it beside her pillow. She gets up and went to the kitchen to drink some water.

"SO…. you finally ended reading that silly book. It is a mystery to me as to where and how did you came in position to that stupid book.  It's about time." she twists in shock upon hearing a voice behind her. 

Luthan is there, currently sitting on the chair just beside the door of her room and is holding a notebook, and she turned red upon seeing that it was the novel she is writing... sort of writing. 

"My God!! How the heck did you enter here? And who give you permission to read that, give me that this instant. W-WAIT (she turns to look at the door) h-how on earth did you get in…. I locked the door!" she said as look at him in shock seeing the door still lock inside. 

"For a beginner your story is fascinating, I hope I can read the continuation." He stands and closes the notebook he was reading and laid it on the chair, he was wearing a formal suit and he looks like a normal handsome business man to her who normally appears in drama and movies. 

"ANSWER, how the hell did you enter here?! And WHO are you?" he step closer to her as she step back. 

"I believe you already know who I am... ah let me correct, who I was. That silly book is more than enough." he said as he looks at her with his dark green powerful eyes.

"Huh! REALLY but the thing is, I DON'T believe in the content of that book. Mermaids are just part of one's imaginations and that book is like the fantasy books I have been reading since childhood. Vampires, wolves and monsters don't even exist, what made you think that I will believe in the existence of sea nymphs." Annelia said in deep frustration as she slowly steps back until her back hit the chair and lost her balance. 

"You are one clumsy little girl are you." she opens her eyes to see him holding her so close in her waist and that she is basically bent down while his strong arm in her waist supported her so she won't fall. 

"People said that the mouth is the gate of misfortune. I guess I made a mistake mocking you with that kiss. It turns out I lost on the turn and it back fire on me." he said as he looks at her face then to her lips. 

"It is a pity though; our path has been bound to diverge. One of this days, (he seems to think for a second) no that is inevitable I'm afraid (he looks into her eyes) you have some lovely eyes. It was said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, mine is a difference or shall I say the opposite …but-." he slowly closed his eyes then kissed her deeply and longer.  
      
When her senses are back, Annelia pushes him hard that they separated before she steps away from him covering her mouth using the back of her hand. 

"W-what d-do you think you are doing? H-how on earth did you get in here! Leave right now or I will shout for help! Oh! And by the way TAKE THIS NECKLACE OFF RIGHT NOW!! AND LEAVE!!!!!" she screams in pure rage before she start to walk towards the door to open it wide indicating him to leave. 

"NOW!" she shouted at him as he smiled and walk towards her. 

He raises her chin using his fingers and put his other arm on her waist as he slowly kiss her, this time it is longer and passionate. Annelia got lost and she didn't notice how and when she closed the door as her arm went to his back then wrap into his neck. When he finally let go of her, Annelia just look at him as he draws some thread of her hairs away from her face and put it behind her ear. 

"The necklace found its rightful place I see. You deserve to have it (he touched the pendant of the necklace that hangs in her cleavage, then his expression changes as if he is sad) what am I doing? I shouldn't have done this; things will be too hard from now on."

 Luthan looks at her as he plays the pendant in his fingers. Annelia look at his eyes to see it was the color of the deep sea which is light green; he suddenly turned away from her. Annelia just look at his back as he looks out to through the window. 

"I just wish we were born in the same world and that I am a simple man worthy of you. It's funny right, I detest you the first time we meet and yet you are winning the game I started. This must be the power the prophesy is talking about." He looks at her and his eyes brighten as he looks into her face. 

"WH-who are you, really?" she said softly as she looks at him. 

She was still shaken by that kiss he gives her and that her thoughts are raveling. He smiles and went closer to her; he acts as if he is going to touch her face but stops midway and his hand drops to his side. 

"You already KNOW who I am. You are just UNWILLING to admit it." Luthan said in his cold tone as she looks into his lovely cold green eyes.

"That is nonsense- I mean if you are the one I think you are- it's not possible."

This was the first time he had seen Wang Ling's writing and it was a whole book of it. For people with OCD, these golden letters were a blessing – except for the title, every character and every rune was roughly the same size; no matter how complex the strokes were, they were all perfectly square.
Anyone who received this type of exercise book wouldn't be able to help hoarding it. Even just opening it and smelling the ink was enough to make you feel very, very close to Heavenly Dao.

Ji Bei Hou nodded his head before sinking into silence for sometime. He then asked, “Is he Free Cloud Sect’s man?”
 
“Yes!”
 
“Then are we able to rope this man in? Or even rope the entire Free Cloud Sect into our ploys?”
 
“To rope this person in is going to be difficult. Roping the entire Free Cloud sect, I’m afraid is impossible.” Shen Zhi replied. He then paused before explaining, “Free Cloud Sect’s history can not be considered ancient, and yet their existence has stretched two dynasties. They are already established.”
 
“The Paradise of these sects rely heavily on Pure Qi. Although Pure Qi flows naturally, there is a way to break it. As long as the imperial dynasty passes an imperial decree, even the biggest mountains or the longest rivers can be shifted or obstructed. Doing this can block the flow of the Qi.”

Hearing these words, Ji Bei Hou sniggered and said, “With the leader of Holy Jail Sect on board with me, why should I fear failure?”

The book merchant wiped the sweat of his forehead as he stood waiting outside Fu Mansion. After some time, someone came out and led him within the mansion. The book merchant carried several books with him and followed the servant in.
 
Shen Zhi was holding a quill and practicing his calligraphy strokes. When the book merchant came in, Shen Zhi did not stop. 
 
The merchant bowed deeply, “Sir, your servant has found some books written personally by famed experts.”
 
He then handed the books to the servant, who passed it on to Mister Shen. Mister Shen took a look and realized that they were all written personally and matched third young master’s criteria, "Not bad, you managed to find all these within such a short amount of time. Not bad indeed!”


“Your household is a noble house, whenever people heard that Hou Mansion was buying books, very few people rejected me.” The book merchant laughed nervously as he replied.
 
“Regardless, you were diligent.” Shen Zhi drank a cup of tea and arranged for the butler to retrieve another 100 taels of silver. This was the final payment. These volumes seemed pretty good.
 
Shen Zi took these seven books and walked over to Wei Ang’s courtyard. When he entered, he noticed that Wei Ang was brewing tea. A finished painting was on the table beside him.
 
Shen Zhi stepped forward, “Third young master, I’ve managed to acquire the books you were looking for.”
 
He then handed the books over to Wei Ang, who started flipping through them immediately, "These books are indeed good books written by renowned experts. Huang Li, you are my personal maid, take these books over to Pei Zi Yun.”
 
“Yes master.” Huang Li replied and took the books over. She then walked over to the entrance where an ox-cart was idling. Boarding the ox-cart, she then headed towards Fu Mansion.
 
When the ox-cart reached Fu Mansion, Huang Li got off and knocked on the door. Before long, the guard asked, “Miss, who are you looking for?”
 
Huang Li then replied, “I am a maid from Ji Bei Hou’s house, under the instructions of my third young master. I am here to pass some books to High Scholar Pei.”
 
The guard then opened the door and said, “Please wait here miss. I shall go and report to High Scholar Pei.”
 
After some time, the guard then came out, "Please enter miss.”
 
The guard then turned around and started leading the way, with Huang Li following close behind.
 
Pei Zi Yun was in his room writing essays. When Huang Li entered, she saw an entire room filled with books. Books were sprawled all over the table, and many pieces of papers with writings were strewn across the room as well, ‘He’s not inclined to paintings like my own master, but is proficient in writing. Based on the way he writes, he’s really befitting of the Top Scorer status.’
 
As she was thinking, she stepped forward and handed the books over.
 
Pei Zi Yun stood up, and looked at the maid. He had seen her around before at Hou Mansion. She had bright eyes and white teeth. Although her features were plain and not what one would regard as pretty, she had a certain simplicity about her look that made her stand out. Pei Zi Yun then smiled, “Thank you master for me.”
 
He then received the book and felt a certain sensation across his entire body, and was overjoyed, "These books are not bad at all. Huang Li, a few days later I shall pay a visit.’
 
“Young master Pei, I shall return to my chores. Farewell.” Huang Li then hurriedly left the room and headed back. She was not allowed to be out for too long. 
 
Pei Zi Yun looked at the books. From the seven books, he pulled out three and threw the other four aside, "Among these seven books, three of them contain legacies.”
 
“The older generation of writers really poured their blood sweat and tears into writing books. A single book could take decades of hard work to complete.”

Pei Zi Yun turned into his bedroom and placed the first book under his pillow. Within seconds, he fell into a dream.
 
A few moments after Pei Zi Yun had fallen asleep, there was a knock on the door before it sprang open, "Junior Brother, Junior Brother. The weather is so nice today. Let’s go and fly some kites.”
 
The little girl Chu Xia was carrying a kite and entered the room. She looked around and found Pei Zi Yun sleeping, deep in his dreams. She then walked nearer to him and shouted loudly, “Junior Brother, Junior Brother. Wake up. Come and fly some kites with me.”


Pei Zi Yun slept soundly and did not stir at all. Seeing him so unresponsive, Chu Xia stormed out in anger.
 
When he had finished dreaming the first, he entered a second, and a third dream. He had absorbed all three books in quick succession. When he finally woke up, he felt his entire world spinning around him. He stood up and took a few steps forward in confusion. Extending a hand out, he reached to grab the bed to catch his breath.
 
“Even though the Plum Blossom second petal formed, absorbing three legacies at once was slightly too much to bear.” Pei Zi Yun regained his composure. Although the limit of the Plum Blossom wasn’t very high, Pei Zi Yun have yet to meet its ceiling. However, as with all things, it has to be taken in moderation. Absorbing legacies too must be a gradual process with sufficient rest.”
 
Not only does his head hurt immensely, but his train of thought was disrupted as well. This was an instance where his state of mind had been subjected to severe over exertion. Pei Zi Yun forced a laugh, and placed the books away from his pillow. He then fell onto the bed and went back to sleep.
 
When he woke up, he felt somewhat rejuvenated. His head was still throbbing, but at least he could walk without feeling dizzy. There were several dishes on the table, although they had turned cold. Beneath the bowl was a note. When he took it up to read, he realized that it was from his teacher. He felt a certain warmness envelop his heart.
 
The rumble of his tummy could be heard as Pei Zi Yun pushed open the door. He wanted to ask a servant to warm his food up for him. He noticed that they sky was dark, with over a few stars overhead. Pei Zi Yun then realized he had slept all the way till midnight.
 
A gust of wind blew over, and Pei Zi Yun felt somewhat chilly. The servants were all asleep. After thinking for sometime, Pei Zi Yun returned to his room and closed the door. He then ignited the stove where a pot sat in his room. After a short while, the pot started steaming. He then placed the dishes inside, filling his entire room with a delicious aroma. When the preparation was done, he started eating.
 
Although the food was still somewhat cold, the flavor was still there. When he finished eating, he placed the bowls aside and started writing, endless streams of thoughts gushed into his mind, inspiring him.
 
The original book that Pei Zi Yun had written was only seven chapters long. After he was done editing and reworking it, he realized that he had reviewed and edited it a total of 11 times. Although it was still not the most perfect work ever done, it had certain standards. 
 
After gaining the knowledge of these three great experts, he did a complete makeover of his seven chapters, gaining insights he could never imagine. When he was done, he placed his hands on the table. He didn’t feel like sleeping yet. He started thinking about his Dao Arts, and realized that he didn’t need to practice due to the fact that he possessed the original owner’s memories. However, he needed to accumulate spiritual strength still.
 
In the blink of an eye, seven days went past. Pei Zi Yun had been writing every single day, and improving his work. He would then proofread the entire thing and made more changes.  Whenever he took breaks, he was practicing the Hundred Beast Movements in order to accumulate spiritual strength. At the end of the seven days, he smiled to himself, "It’s done”
 
He then shouted, “Men, prepare an ox-cart. I shall go to Hou Mansion.”
 
At that time High Scholar Fu and Yu Yun Jun were bringing someone to a room. The room was locked and the corridor was exceptionally quiet. Both of them had looks that were mixed with sorrow and happiness. When they pushed open the door, they saw that several old books were on the shelves, and the curtains had been drawn. A teacup and pot were on the table. Everything was the way it once was. 
 
“Ai, Mistress Cloud and I are here to see you again. I’ve wronged you……” High Scholar Fu said gently. There were three candles burning beside the incense burner. High Scholar Fu then whispered, “But you were in Paradise, and had no worries. It’s just that I’ve been suffering while yearning for you. I guess this is how I should make up for what happened.”
 
Yu Yun Jun was silent. If it weren’t for her, High Scholar Fu wouldn’t have entered the Dao as well. This was all fate. 
 
When they backed away, High Scholar Fu paused for several seconds, his face changing color as he tried to speak. Yu Yun Jun abruptly waved her hands to stop him, as her expression changed, “Eh?”

Fernando 'Ando' Diaz was the name of the old man who's now assuming himself as the cheaply gained grandpa of both Hana and Leyte. 

The day before today, Leyte explained to him the reason why they want to go to the city and he perfectly understood it. The old man decided to go with them since he was thinking that as the oldest, it would be his responsibility to guide the two youngsters. And actually, like a normal person would, he also wishes to see how his own family and loved ones were faring.

Yesterday was when the new family of three arrived in Manila City.

However, as of now, Fernando the old man was the only one left inside their newly bought house. The two youngsters went out and he's aware that they were either causing mischief since that was a trend among young people, or trying to take a glimpse of the families they left behind. 

Now, back to the newly bought house, the five-bedroom bungalow styled house was bought using Leyte's money that Leyte had just recently claimed from his bank accounts. Thankfully the young man's family didn't withdraw the savings from there even though the young man died quite some time ago. Well, Hana said he's been dead for more than a year, but it seemed that Leyte's family still couldn't move on from this and didn't want to meddle with his belongings and money. 

Leyte was thankful in this part because he didn't have the heart to sell the house given to them by the goddess. Even if he wants to sell that, the house is located within the Second Layer; no wealthy man lived there. In short, it was impossible to sell the house. 

Thankfully he had enough money to buy a bungalow which was located at one of the rather peaceful villages within Manila City. They had to use fake credentials though but it didn't matter. At least, they have a house now. 

Grandpa Fernando was quite feeling lonely inside the house as the two had yet to go home. He was accompanied by the maids. Julia and the other personal maids followed them to the city. However, right now, he's still feeling melancholic.

Agatha, the maid assigned to him, held out a glass of juice which the old man promptly accepted. "Thanks."

The old man immediately smiled when he heard the chime from the main door ringing. He stood up from his seat in the living room and turned to the direction of the main door. When he saw who came, his eyes lit up. "Hana! Welcome back, little girl. How's the trip outside? And where is our shy kiddo Ley?" The old man's neck turned a bit to the right, and he acted like he was peeking from the sides. However, there's not even a shadow of the young man behind Hana.

The girl threw him a weird gaze. Why is he always calling that guy kiddo? 

Lucia and the other maids welcomed her return to which she just merely brushed off with a nod. She replied to the oldest person in the room, "Grandpa Ando, Big Brother Leyte is still outside. He'll probably return late."

"What is he doing? Did he meet someone he knows? Ay, my forgetful head, I forgot we're not supposed to appear before our past acquaintances. So, Little Missy, where did he go and what is he doing?"

The girl strode toward a single-seater sofa and sat on it. "He's probably trying to gain a follower. His ability is quite unique so he really has to put effort into it."

The old man nodded and then went silent for a moment. 

Hana continued. "Grandpa Ando, you should try to go out as well and search for people you can turn into your followers. We are quite tight on time. However, the two of us will have it easier because our abilities are much more useful to others than Leyte's."

Grandpa Ando laughed, "Don't worry about me. I already have plans for myself. Tomorrow, I will join a touring caravan and go to the City of Pines. It will certainly be worthwhile because the place is nice."
"Please bring Agatha with you." Hana reminded.

"Okay. Haha. Since it's my new granddaughter who requested, this old man will follow." Then the old man laughed before drinking the juice his assistant made for him. Hana fell into deep thoughts. She tried to imagine what Leyte would do but decided it's pointless so she just went to bed, saying to herself that she'll try to think of a plan for herself tomorrow.

Leyte Baler didn't knock on the door and introduce himself to Nathaniel Garcia as his neighbor. No, he had yet to picture himself doing something like that. Instead, like a ghost, he passed directly through the walls and then ta-dan! He's already inside and was even greeted by the sight of a hanged male ghost writhing in the air. 

But, when it saw, scratch that, when the ghost felt the oppressive atmosphere coming from his direction, the ghost immediately freaked out and hurriedly escaped the room. It was like a thief fearing the sudden appearance of a cop armed with a gun and beautiful handcuffs. As normal as it could be, its instinct was to run and to never come close.

Leyte was quite shocked though. Just like what that girl said, he actually could see ghosts now, and the ghost he saw for the very first time got scared away by him. Never in his wildest imagination did he expect something like this from happening. 

When he was still a puny human trying to play the role of a daredevil urging many classmates to do some ghost hunting, he became easily scared when a slight touch of wind came in contact with his skin. He was young back then and was easily misled to thinking that all passing chilly breeze could be signs of a ghost's arrival. 

The experience was truly novel and it was a sharp contrast to his actual first encounter with a ghost. 

Discontented by its reaction, Leyte looked at his body closely with a frown in his face. Just what part of them, Anitos, could frighten ghostly beings so much?

Is it another ability of a being like him that he just had uncovered?

For the sake of closing the case, he assumed that was the case.

"Hmm, the haunted guy is not here. Is he inside the restroom, or already retiring to bed?"

The apartment is not that large but based on the layout, it was at least complete - with a bedroom, mini-kitchen plus dining area, bathroom, and a living room. 

Leyte was at the living room, and a few steps before him was a small round table where the remote control for the TV was left on top. A pocketbook settled near the remote control and Leyte curiously picked it up. And then the moment he flipped the first page, an uncomfortable feeling rose from his heart.

"Is this a cursed book?" His brows furrowed.

From within the room which Leyte speculated to be the bathroom, a scream suddenly broke out which made him dashed towards it, the book was still in his hands. After a few steps, he saw a man shrouded with black aura fainting on the cold wet floor. This guy should be the one named Nathaniel Garcia, a horror writer, and the current owner of the cursed book. A headless ghost in priest attire was next to the unconscious guy but like the hanged ghost, it immediately roared and ran off at the sight of Leyte. 

Leyte blinked, then lowered down his eyes to the guy. "So he fainted due to that headless ghost?"
He frowned because he initially planned to talk with this ghostwriter but since he was already forced to sleep by that ghost, he could do nothing but watch the ghostwriter like this. 

With a sigh, he willed an open pathway towards the bedroom to be created and then made the man float onto it. He couldn't care anymore if the man's clothes were wet. It was already a great kindness in his part to chase all the evil beings inside the house. From what he could observe, the guy had already been sleepless for so long, so it's already nice that no ghost would awaken him from his sleep this time.

'That headless priest sure looked scary. But at least, it's not heartless, even allowing this guy who obviously lacked sleep to get some rest.'

Leyte went back to the living room to read the book. The font was neither English nor Filipino alphabet. It seemed to be Baybayin, writing system of ancient Filipinos. To mortals, only the owner would be able to read the book. He didn't know who created this thing and why the creator set up a condition like that, but since Leyte was an Anito, the restriction did not take effect. He not only could read it, but he could also even see a trace of black aura connecting the book and the owner. 

"Before, I don't even know how to read other writing systems, but now, it seems all knowledge in this world is not out of reach. I don't know the extent of my own abilities. So far, it seems levitation, psychokinesis, innate ghost warding and enhanced physical and mental abilities are the basics. Then there's the individual gift. Hana can heal people. That old man, I think, can talk to animals, especially birds. And I can create roads or pathways..." 

When he thought about his own ability, he felt weird. However, this was precisely his ability, and he had just demonstrated one of its basic functions – creating pathways and shortening distance.

In the future, he might become an Anito of the Road. And honestly, he didn't want to think about it.

Curiosity is an innate trait of all living beings. Since he was really curious, he started reading the book with relish and even generously praised the stories inside. Now he knew why this guy named Nathaniel could become a successful horror writer. Given the book's conditions and stories, even if Nathan doesn't want to become one, he would still end up like that due to the ghosts attached to the book.

Ley Baler died. 
However, he later discovered that he has nowhere to go because a war of goddesses erupted in the world of the deceased and destroyed the kingdom of the dead! 

Poor him and his fellow souls!

Thankfully, he got saved by another beautiful goddess and was even turned into a Skyworld dweller. However, since he is not a natural-born Anito, one of the lowest ranking races of the Skyworld, he would have to create followers and believers on earth. Otherwise, his weak spirit will slowly wane till it reduces to not even a speck of dust in the great wide universe.

The challenge though is that his powers have nothing to do with healing or anything useful. So how would he gather followers? What should he do with his abilities that are more suited for construction sites?!!!

After wandering around the school, Zac studied some of the art and writing pieces proudly hung on bulletin boards outside of the many classrooms. He also looked at the auditorium and large gymnasium inside the school. He didn't want to bother the reunited couple and respected their privacy so he didn't go back to the music room. Instead, after he was done touring the school, he decided to go outside and make a call. 

Outside of the school, Zac sat on the steps, sipping on his mug of hot chocolate. He pulled out his phone and dialed Naomi's number. She had to know about this! He gently placed his phone to his ear as it rang. When Naomi picked up, he heard some people talking in the background before Naomi answered with, "Hello?" Zac cleared his throat before speaking. "Naomi, did you already know Kaia was here?" he asked, crossing his free arm around the front of his torso as he looked out across the school yard.

Naomi was walking around the company getting some rookies situated in their cubicles. She excused herself and let the other employee with her handle the rookies as she walked off to a quieter area to speak with Zac. When she heard Zac's question she slowed down her walking pace. She pursed her lips before frowning and sucking in a deep breath, "Yes, I knew she was there…" 

She walked into a small and empty meeting room and closed the door behind her so she could talk in privacy. She sat down in one of the office chairs, crossing her legs. "I'm sorry I kept it a secret. With everything that happened and Kaia's dad threatening her, she was worried about the consequences of remaining in the city. At the moment we're still collecting evidence on him and we're getting closer to nailing him down." 

Zac froze hearing all of Naomi's mumbling. He blinked, abruptly standing up from the steps and walking away from the school building to the side of the schoolyard. The questions he had came spewing out. "Naomi, what are you talking about? Being threatened? Wait, is that why she faked her death?" Naomi frowned putting her head in her hand. She said too much! "Ugh, Kaia didn't tell you guys anything yet?" she asked with a small groan. 

Zac frowned, clenching his phone tightly. "Alex and Kaia just met, they're talking now. I—" Zac stopped speaking for a moment as he cautiously looked around before letting out a sigh. "Is there anything I can help with?" he asked, his facial expression growing more and more serious. 

Naomi was beating herself up on the inside for blabbing out something so secretive. She should've confirmed things before she spoke! She really couldn't trust herself to keep any more secrets at this point. She was so busy cursing in her head and regretting everything she said that she didn't even notice the door to the room creak open. 

Naomi sighed. "It's fine Zac. We have a specialized team already in action. Just keep an eye on things over there in the countryside. Also, don't let Alex bully Kaia too much! She didn't do it because she wanted to. And please, for the sake for the many years we've already known each other, if she doesn't tell him about any of this, then don't say a thing!" She sighed, absentmindedly tapping her fingers nervously on the table. She hoped that Zac would comply with her plea and wouldn't tell Alex anything unless Kaia was ready to tell him of her own accord.

Zac frowned. He paused slightly and considered what Naomi was telling him to do. He was hesitant to reply but he finally made his decision. "Ok…I'll go check on them now…" With that he hung up.

Mi Sung, who was eavesdropping on Naomi pushed the door wide open with a bang. She glared at Naomi, crossing her arms. "Out of the country, huh?"

Naomi flinched when the door banged open. As soon as she heard and saw Mi Sung, she groaned. She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes at Mi Sung because she looked extremely pissed. A black storm cloud was practically hovering over her head as Mi Sung stood at the doorway with a glowering look.

Naomi decided to ignore Mi Sung. She stood up and grabbed the small folder containing the agenda for the day to leave. As soon as she was at the door and ready to brush past Mi Sung, Mi Sung grabbed her arm with a scowl. "Alex and I are going get married in a few days, where the hell is he? Oh, I know. He's out in the country, right? Since he's in the country, then I'll be heading there as well. Book me a flight! NOW!" she demanded with a cold and fierce glare.
Naomi's face grew cold as she jerked her arm away from her. She wanted to tell her off but she didn't want to make trouble for the company. So instead of bitch slapping Mi Sung, she could only settle for a more subtle way of showing her dislike. She gave Mi Sung a sarcastic smirk as she replied, "Okay…I'll book you a flight Ms. Park, but I'm afraid you'll need to pay for your own flight because you're not part of our company. Please wait a bit while I look over the flight schedules…" 

Mi Sung was practically fuming with rage at this point. She was already pissed that Alex wasn't there when the wedding day was already approaching. Now some assistant had the nerve to not only forcefully jerk their arm out of her grip but say something so rude and ignorant towards her. 'We'll see if I'm a part of your company very soon,' she thought with a dangerous glint flashing through her eyes. She let out a dissatisfied "hmph" as she strolled inside the living room and carefully sat down on a chair.

Naomi walked out of the meeting room and went to her office. She sat at her desk and opened her laptop. There was no way she was letting Mi Sung go and ruin their happy reunion. She wanted to let out a maniacal and evil laugh so badly but bit her bottom lip slightly to suppress the urge to do so. She surfed the internet and looked through some of the "nicest" places for Mi Sung to go. Her eyes lit up when she found the perfect place, then she hurried to book the most expensive flight for Mi Sung. The "wonderful" place was merely a few (a.k.a 10) hours away in the opposite direction of where Alex was.

The day finally came. Maya couldn't sleep the night before. The entire family and their extended guest list have flown down to the Carribeans. On a private island, Lucas and Maya decided to have their exclusive beach wedding. 

Food flown in from all parts of the world, a seafood bonanza with alaskan king crabs, oysters, caviar, king prawns and calamari. Free flowing Moet champagne from a fountain. The wedding party being serenaded by Adele and Ed Sheeran. 

A platform was erected on the beach for the aisle, ending in a wooden sculptured gazebo strewn with flowers and twinkle lights. White rose petals covered the aisle. Chairs for guests were lined on either side of the aisle. 

Maya and Lucas had decided on a medium sized crowd consisting of family, friends and well wishers. No paparazzi or media personnel were allowed on the island. No one knew the location of the beautiful island of the coast of Barbados. 

The wedding was to take place at dusk with a panoramic sunset as the backdrop. Maya was being dressed by professionals in her own cabana. Lucas had not seen Maya since the day before. It was bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. Lucas frowned upon that notion but had no choice than to abide by the rules. 

Maya wore light make up which accentuated her natural youthful glow. She had her hair up in a messy bun with strands falling along the side of her face. The messy bun was surrounded by a thin coronet of blue sapphires. It was a present from Irene. Her something new and something blue. 

Maya's something borrowed were teardrop sapphire earrings which she borrowed from Samantha to match her coronet. She was dressed in an off shoulder white lace gown with a long train. She wore a lacy veil that matched her dress. 

On the other end of the island, Lucas was getting ready to marry the love of his life. He wore a three piece ivory suit and matched it with blue sapphire cufflinks. He looked every bit the rugged man spotting at 5 o'clock shadow. He decided not to shave again as Maya liked how he looked. He oozed raw sex appeal. 

As the guests started filling the aisles, Lucas walked in accompanied by his step mother. Eventhough they had an unpleasant past, he decided that giving her a shot would only improve his family dynamics. 

Lucas stood at the entrance of the gazebo with his groomsmen. They were a mixture of his friends and Maya's brothers. As the wedding music started playing, the bridesmaids walked in one by one. Samantha was her maid of honour. 

The guests rose to await the arrival of the bride. Ed Sheeran sang Perfect as she walked down the aisle, accompanied by her parents. Maya was too nervous to look up as she had the biggest fear she would trip. Her grip on her bouquet of white roses and her parents' arms were strong. Irene whispered into Maya's ears, " You would want to look up my dear." 

Maya took a deep breath and looked up. The minute she did, she locked eyes with the most beautiful human being in the world. The man waiting for her at the end of the aisle. He was beautiful because he was staring at her with unabashed adoration and love. His eyes were expressing all the love he felt for his beautiful bride and how much he adored her. She could see his eyes glistening with unshed tears. 

The backdrop of the sun setting against the Carribean islands were breathtaking. Lucas standing against the sunset gave him an ethereal appearance. She couldnt wait to marry the man who stole her heart from the first glance many months ago. 

Lucas awaited the entry of his bride. As she walked down the aisle, he was overwhelmed. He had never felt such a strong tug in his heart as the moment he laid eyes on her. She was the epitome of perfection. Her nervous blush, her deep breaths. Everything drew him to her. He could not peel his eyes off her and the moment he locked eyes with her, he felt complete. 

She was the one. The person meant to complete his world. She brought light into his life. Her slow steps towards him were agonising. He couldn't wait to have her in his arms. She smiled at him and he felt his heart stop. He held her hands in his as they faced each other. 

Maya was the first to recite her vows. She spoke softly but confidently, she knew that there were no doubt nor uncertainties in her choices. She looked into his eyes and saw his soul. " I promise to love you more every single day of my life. I promise to never leave your side till death do we part. I will cherish the love you give me everyday and I promise to grow old in your arms," she promised him. 

Lucas looked at his soulmate and vowed, " The only time I would kneel before another would be the day I tie our daughter's shoelace. I promise to give you the world. What is mine shall be yours as I am yours forever. My love for you shall last till I breathe my last breath and shall continue on as I pass on. I vow to uphold all my promises and to not be the cause of any tears from your eyes. I will be the pillar you lean on." 

Maya smiled as she wiped away tears from her eyes. She stood up on tip toes and kissed the man she promised herself to. She poured all her unsaid confessions through that kiss. She promised to show him her love through actions rather than words. 

Lucas hugged her and slipped on the wedding band on her finger. It was a gold flat band with tiny diamonds forming an eternal sign. On the inner surface of the ring were his initials and the rhythm of his heartbeat engraved. Her initials and her heartbeat were engraved onto his plain gold band. 

Lucas kissed her again as they were pronounced Man and Wife. He ended the kiss and whispered into her ears, " To happily ever after my love."

The moment you awakened this Spirit Shin, you have sealed your destiny. The only true cultivation technique that you can practice, is the Celestial Water Mantra."

Saying that the Chief Librarian handed the box over to Shin.

"Train well child… Once you master your Spirit, you will become a valuable asset to the Frie Clan."

"Senior… Thank you..."

Seeing that the old woman in front of him was so helpful to him, Shin felt grateful. In fact, right now he recalled everything members of the Frie Clan did for him. From the previous Clan Master who had saved them from their parentless lives to the First Elder, who guided him every step of the way. Shin felt genuinely indebted to the Frie Clan. Mentally, he swore to become stronger for the Clan's sake.

"Hoho seems like my efforts will not go to waste."

Before, when the Chief Librarian saw Shin, she was unsure of whether passing on the Celestial Water Mantra to the boy was a good idea. But now, seeing the determination and gratitude in Shin's eyes, the old woman affirmed that her choice was the correct one.

"Now try to memorise as much as you can today. You can use any of the tables on the third floor for your studies. The manuals can never leave the Athenaeum. So anytime you wish to read the manual, you can find me here."

Hearing that, Shin despaired as he recollected the arduous route he had to take to reach the Athenaeum. Realising that every time he wanted to learn the Celestial Water Mantra he had to repeat the painful climb back here, Shin's face blackened.

"Hohoho, just treat it as training child. The path to the Athenaeum is undoubtedly hard, but there is always a price for learning."

"..."

Unwilling to agree with the Chief Librarian, Shin remained silent.

"Hoho, since I have finished what I came to do, I should return before some meddlesome juniors of mine come looking for me. Lou, you had better train them well!"

"Hmph! There's no need for you to tell me that! Shin, Ella and Emma are my students. Needless to say, I will give them the best treatment!"

The Instructor solemnly responded to his mom's warning.

"Hahahaha! Now that's my boy!"

Satisfied with her son's words, the Chief Librarian headed towards the lift and disappeared to a higher floor.

"Instructor, is that senior truly your mother?"

Now that the old woman had left, Shin asked the Instructor. It was inappropriate to ask such a question before, but now that only the Instructor remained, Shin, inquired.

"Unfortunately, yes. She is currently serving as Chief Librarian of the Athenaeum, the highest position in this place. Even the Clan Master would not have much control over her if it concerns the Athenaeum."

All decisions about the Athenaeum were handled by the scholars and librarians who frequented the place. The regular members of the Frie Clan had very little influence over what happens in the Athenaeum. It's as if this sanctum of learning is its own governing body. No matter what happens to the Frie Clan, the Athenaeum must live on.

Hence, having the Chief Librarian openly support the First Elder by providing the Celestial Water Mantra to Shin is a much bigger deal than it seems.

"Okay, enough about her, we should start reading the cultivation technique she handed you."

Pointing towards the golden box in Shin's hands, the Instructor suggested that Shin should start studying.

"Fine…"

The golden box was reasonably easy to open. All Shin had to do was remove the clips and lift the lid. An azure coloured book lay in the box. Heavy foxing could be observed as the paper had started browning and showed signs of stain spots. Evidently, the manual was extremely old and even delicate preservation methods could not stop it from ageing.

"Is this the original book?!"

Thinking that the manual in the golden box was the original copy of the Celestial Water Mantra due to its age, Shin questioned the Instructor.

"Of course not! Virtually every writing that records the Celestial Water Mantra is a copy. The original manual has long decayed out of existence. There is no way a book can last for over a million years."

Laughing at Shin's preposterous query, the Instructor replied.

"So why is the manual here so old?"

"The majority of them are like that. The only organisation that prints issues of the Celestial Water Mantra is the Lantis Republic in the east and they usually sell it once every century. Adding to the fact that there are only nine Spirits that can cultivate this technique, it is a miracle that the Frie Clan even had a copy."

"Oh..."

"Well, once you're done with your questions, it's time to begin studying, I will assist you along the way. Look, Ella and Emma are already pulling far ahead."

While Shin was listening attentively to the Chief Librarian's lecture, the twins were busy learning their cultivation technique. They were already beginning to memorise the fundamentals.

"Now Shin, listen carefully. The Celestial Water Mantra teaches you in four key areas. Gathering of spiritual energy, converting that spiritual energy into mana, using mana to cultivate your Spirit and utilising your Spirit. These four steps seem simple, but there is ancient wisdom in the texts. If you are unable to understand something while reading the manual, feel free to voice your doubts. Also, there is no rush. You can always come back another day."

"Fine, I get it..."

Hours go by as Shin, and the twins started studying their cultivation manuals. Many other ten-year-olds who had awakened their Spirits yesterday came later in the day to find cultivation techniques suited for them. Ariel and Tobias came an hour after the Chief Librarian left while children from the Second Elder's division arrived fifteen minutes after them.

Noticing the orphans, the children sneered but did not dare make a scene in the Athenaeum. Their Instructors, on the other hand, were wide-eyed when they saw the manual that Shin was reading. One of them hastily retreated, presumingly to tell the news to the Second Elder.

Meanwhile, Ariel's Instructor picked out the perfect cultivation technique for her. What truly infuriated Shin was the name of the technique that Ariel was going to cultivate. The Annihilation Hammer Mantra. A cultivation technique that focuses on preparing the Spirit User for the decimation of their enemy.

It looks like Shin must not only become strong for the sake of the Frie Clan, but also for his own well-being...

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. Eventually, even start wars. Thousands upon thousands of years past and one day, one human did the impossible. He transcended his mortality and ascended to the realm above.  

In the present day, the Frie Clan was once a great clan of the Himmel empire. However, a devastating battle ten years ago crippled the clan and their numbers dwindled. To make up for their loss, the upper echelons decided to adopt young orphans and nurture them to become a future pillar of the weakened clan. Shin was one of those orphans. 

Although picked up by the Frie Clan, not all is smooth sailing for Shin and the other orphans...

"Caroline?" his voice catches in his throat, Cullen stumbling into the steps. Without a second's pause, she swoops around him, guiding him into place. Just as she always had when they were children.

"Hello Lord Rutherford," she begins, but he grimaces.

"Please, Cullen." They place their palms together, Cullen staring down into her face. He remembers far too well the young child of the Earl who would insist he fetch her an apple from the highest branch the tree. Then, when he inevitably fell, cushion his head in her lap.

It was decided she was to be his wife before his tenth birthday, neither child thrilled with the prospect. But as time passed, and the fear of girls faded, Cullen found himself warming to the thought. He certainly didn't suspect he could do better. She seemed excited about the idea of being a Duchess in her own right.

"Your husband...?" Cullen stutters, glancing away from the shine of her beauty to the older men clogged together in puffs of smoke. One of the more aging ones is the Count that Caroline pledged herself to. A second wife, no less, with stepchildren older than herself. "He does not care that we are dancing?"

Caroline laughs, her chuckle golden and contained. When he was sixteen, he tickled her so she snorted hard and made him swear he'd never reveal that fact to anyone. Cullen kept his world. "Dear Count Worthington cares little what I do, or who I do it with." She whispers the last half into Cullen's ear, causing his body to shiver but a bitterness spreads across his tongue at the thought.

She is a social climber. He ignored the accusations of her family in his younger days, having more pressing concerns. But when he renounced his blood-earned title and enlisted, Cullen quickly learned how he should have listened to the rumors. Still, the reminder of days before tragedy blanketed his home brings a lightness to his step.

Glancing up to him through her lashes, she says, "I am sorry about Branson and your father. They were...good men."

"Yes," Cullen's head drops, his chin striking his cravat. Better than I.

"I will be in the county for the summer," Caroline throws off without a thought. As the song fades through the ballroom, she slips her hand from inside of his to grip his waist. "If you need to talk, I'm always there for you, Cullen."

Gwen slips into the library, her ears tuned to the muffled natterings of the peerage as they enjoy their dance. After lighting the lone candle upon the desk, she sits in the chair and dips into the ink. While the first three lines fly from her pen, she finds herself stumped upon the next. Her thoughts wander from the pastoral setting in her mind to man who usually resides where she sits. It smells of him, his oil mixture for the hair with a surprisingly fruity concoction curls off the headrest. A cologne of amber wafts from where her arms sit, and deep from the southern regions of her body a musk that speaks of men braving the oceans with naught but their courage by their side.

She sighs at the metaphorical trip her brain takes from a few scents. Foolish to even wonder. He is a Duke, lord of a manor house, tasked with wooing all the lovely women of wealthy and noble families right beyond those doors. The chances of him looking upon her were as high as Merlin emerging from his cave.

Chuckling to herself at such an idea, Gwen dives back into her writing when the knob to the library begins to turn. An amorous couple hoping to avoid public and scandal? She grabs onto her few papers knowing she has no leg to stand on to remain, when golden curls slip inside.

He closes the door quickly behind him, but walks no closer. With his back placed to the wood he tips his head up, eyes closed, and pulls in a cleansing breath. She saw a hint of his regalia for the night, while young Master Branson was put to bed. But so distracted, Gwen drinks in the perfect cut of his coat, navy blues in deference to his past. How the vest of a brocade silver is tailored tighter than most to his stomach, and the cravat already being unfurled by his fingers as if he cannot breathe.

Oh God. She should leave. She shouldn't be here. He clearly didn't anticipate...

Amber eyes land upon her, Duke Rutherford realizing that he is not alone. An undignified snort erupts from her nose, Gwen raising a shoulder. To her surprise and relief, he chuckles, his head dropping to his chest. "We meet again."

"Forgiveness, I..."

"Wanted to enjoy the garden?" he wafts his hand towards the closed window, the blooms waning by summer's heat.

"I'm afraid the flowers are all sleeping," Gwen sighs while hefting up the manuscript she should have worked on in her room.

He notices the stack in her arms and asks, "What were you doing? Candlelight is a strain to read by."

"One that I'd often suffer regardless," Gwen admits before wincing. His eyes, sharp as a lion's in the tall grass, won't leave her arms. "I'm...I'm writing a book. Trying to. It's nothing important. Frivolous nonsense, but..."

"A," Duke Rutherford raises his chin, his tongue ticking in thought, "a book? What is it about?"

Strings of the orchestral symphony slither through the cracks in the door, the rugged man's stern face softened by either the amber flare of candlelight or his childlike curiosity. Gwen, who'd been hiding her book's creation for years, opens her lips and let's slip, "Love."

"Hm," he snorts, no doubt dismissing the silly subject out of hand. "I'm afraid I don't have much advice on the subject."

"It's all well and good. I only, I..." she's trapped, the Duke remaining by the door so she cannot flee up to her room and bury her head in her pillow. Who tells a Duke that they're writing a book about love? Foolish girls with fluff for brains. "I thought with the party you'd be too busy to need your office and..."

"You write here?"

"When I can," she admits, Lord Rutherford finally moving free of the door towards his desk. Gwen can run for it, but suddenly she's curious to remain. "I cannot explain why, but it feels as if the shackles of writer's block lift when I sit at the desk. Your desk. Which I shouldn't do, I..."

He raises a hand, silencing her babble. "If I am not requiring it for all the bills of lading, you are free to make use of it. I'd never thought it a source of creativity before." Running a finger over the edge, he whispers, "To me, it was a yoke. But it's nice to know that it can be other things."

"My Lord?" There's pain in his voice, buried under protocol and politeness, but she can practically taste it in the air. How his eyes drift across the room, shuddering at edges that aren't right. The Duke raises his head, his wounded but shielded eyes meeting hers. "Are you well?" Her question bulges in the air, the man seeming to weigh it as if he should tell her, as if she knew a tonic to cure him of clear heartache.

"I could call the Steward?" Gwen throws out, scrambling to find her place.

Rutherford smirks with his scar, shaking his furrowed brow, "No need. May I ask you something though?" He barely pauses for her nod before beginning, "What is it in a woman's makeup that causes her to obsess about fixing a man? About ensuring that his wishes be ignored and trampled over because she knows best?"

This must be about his sister. The Lord certainly made no bones about his disapproval of the ball, or any of Lady Mia's other changes. But badmouthing one Rutherford to another seems unwise. "Sir, if I may...we are bred from the nursery to heal, to comfort and help in any way we can. While our strengths may be limited, and our approach seemingly unwanted by those we care for, it comes from a good place."

His mood lifts as a smile brightens upon his handsome face. Nodding, he says, "Thank you, Lady Trevelyan. You've given me a...helpful perspective I had not considered."

"Always happy to serve, my Lord," she crosses her legs and dips, her arms too full for a proper curtsy.

Knocking the door handle open with her elbow, Gwen prepares to leave when the Lord speaks once more. "I am glad that you answered the job."

She glances back, awash in the warm glow across his face. The smile stretches from his lips to his eyes, brightening the room against the darkness. "As am I, Sir."

Duke Rutherford never wanted this title, death forcing it upon him. He retires from public until the new mysterious Governess enters his life. Cullen is a recently-made Duke bachelor fresh from war, who’s sworn off interacting with the public in the wake of his father's death. He avoids all interactions outside his household until he has to take care of his young cousin and hires a beautiful governess to educate her. While he tries to relearn the rules to the game of peerage, he finds himself growing closer and closer to the mysterious governess.

Just two months had passed since me and my mom signed the deal, and now the release date of my first book was about to happen.

At the end I decided that 'The princess collection volumen one' will be formed by: 'Sleeping beauty', 'Cinderella', 'Aladdin', 'The princess and the frog' and 'Beauty and the beast'.

What leaves: 'Mulan', 'The little mermaid', 'Moana', 'Rapunzel' and 'Frozen' for the second volume. Which release date will depend on how well does the first one. 

Those were all the 'Disney' princesses I could somehow remember, which made easier the decision to not doing more in the future. For the other two books, I planned to use 'DreamWorks' or 'Illumination' movies as a reference. What was clear, is that those books will not be compilations, I needed to start practicing writing longer books. And that's what I am doing lately, besides working on my comic with Hanna of course. 

"Girls I have a surprise for you" I said to the girls when we were on recess. 

"Thank you Sam!" the twins said when I gave them copies of my book. Each one gave me a tight hug and a quick kiss on the forehead. 

"Thank you!" Claire smiled cutely at me, and gave me a hug. Her hazel eyes are captivating, which always made me look at her for a slightly longer period of time. 

For someone as antisocial as me, I should count myself lucky to have three friends already. Although I couldn't really take any merit in my friendship with Claire, the twins were just too nice with everyone, so this kind of conclusion was an understanding. 

"The book will be on sale in about a week, so you better like it because I can't change anything now" I joked. 

"That's impossible" Emma replied quickly with a face that showed her conviction. 

"Ummmm. It'll depend if the stories are as good as the ones we have read before" Ellie smiled slyly at me. I think that her sense of humor has evolved thanks to me. I don't know if that's a good thing though. 

"That's why Emma is my favorite twin" I winked at Ellie, who pouted at me while I gave the clueless Emma a hug. 

"Me too" Said Claire, who played along and joined us. Ellie's face was hilarious, she looked at Claire as if she had committed the ultimate betrayal. 

"... Ok, I surrender. I will love it" Ellie finally said, and hugged us all while we all laughed. 

"Sammy, stop flirting with your girlfriends" It was my sister voice who interrupted us. The twins and Claire flinched at my sister words, and a blush appeared on their faces while they moved back a couple of steps. 

"Hehe, you are cute" My sister simply said to them before giving me a hug of her own. 

"Sis, how are you? Did something happen?" I asked in curiosity. I wanted to know why was she here, considering that we don't share the recess periods with the kids on her grade. 

"I'm fine... Sam, I came here to give you some good news, and also to ask for permission" She started with a tone showing a mix of emotions. 

It seemed that she was happy and guilty at the same time. I just looked at her eyes prompting her to continue, and that she did "... Do you remember my best friend?" She asked. 

I do. It's really hard to forget the only ginger on school, and one that adorable too. Besides, Hannah has already introduced us before. 

"Kate. Of course I remember her. You have even told me that today you'll be going to her house to a pijama party" 

"That's true... Well the thing is, her uncle works at this network that focus on making cartoons. And thanks to Kate, he got to know about our comic" She smiled widely. 

"'Power puff girls' will be on tv!" The twins and Claire said excitedly. They were even happier than me. 

That was great news. I would have preferred to somehow make the cartoon myself, so I could've own it. But I know that it was impossible for now.

"Yep. And he's currently at Kate's house, so I wanted to talk to him about it today... Unless you want to be there too?" 

So she's worried about that. It was cute from her, but like the minor she is my sister can't sign any deal, so there is no danger with her being alone.

"Oh, don't worry big sis. I know that you'll be fine on your own. I trust you" I encouraged her. 

"Sammy!" She simply said, before lifting me up and spinning around a couple of times. 

"Yeah Hannah, you'll do great" My friends said encouragingly. 

"Thanks girls" My sister said happily, "You are all so great. I would be happy with any of you being Sam' s girlfriend" she added playfully after a while. 

At that my friends just flushed and lowered their heads shyly. Which I just couldn't ignore. 

"But Hannah, the three of them are my girlfriends already" I said with innocence. 

It seems that I went too far, because the three of them just ran away before I could continue with my act. 

"You're cruel little brother" Hannah said with a smirk on her face when we realized that they wouldn't come back. 

"Hehe, I learned from the best" I replied with a little smile. 

Then we discussed about her 'meeting'. Basically I just told her to not worry that much for the money, and to just offer the TV rights for a limited amount of time. Maybe that would make Kate's uncle reconsider his idea to make the show to begin with, but for starters it was a good baseline. 

When the recess was over I said my goodbyes to Hannah, whom I'll not see until tomorrow. Then I reunited with my friends who acted like nothing happened, and because I didn't want to make things awkward I didn't say anything. 

In class, like I've doing lately, I focused in creating my 'own' comic universe. I wanted to have a continuous story line, with a lot of characters. And the timeline was what's making me work so hard on it. 

Until now, the characters I had that I wanted to do, and that were coherent with the world I planned, were: 'Batman', 'Spiderman', 'Powergirl', 'Hulk', 'Static', 'Black panther', 'Scarlett witch', 'Wonder woman', 'Aquaman', 'Guardians of the galaxy', 'Doctor strange', and mutants (in a certain degree). 

Dedicating myself to organize the comic world, my day passed quickly with no major incident. There was a math test, but it's not even worth mentioning. And like it was already planned, my father picked me up at the school gates. 

"How was your day?" I asked my father. I knew that he has been working on a game for this 'new' hand-held console, for about four months now. 

"Not that well to be honest. But that's to be expected considering that this is the first time we are doing a game for this new console" He said with his usual energetic nature. 

"Well, if you have any problem with the game, just remember that my offer is still in place" I joked. 

I wanted to make a certain game, especially for this time an age. But I wouldn't just hande it like that, I wanted to own it myself. 

"About that. In the past I may have talked about your proposal to my boss, and now with how I been talking about you, and the news of your book being a week away only... Let's say that it wouldn't be an impossibility in a couple of years" He said casually. 

"Are you saying that I'll be able to make my own game under the company you work for, and still conserve the rights to it?" I asked. I wanted to be excited, but it was just too good to be true. 

"Like I've said to you before. If you are willing to share the ownership of any game you do, I would be able to help you with getting published... But yes. The times are changing, and it wouldn't be impossible for it to be real. Especially if the games we'll develope are not well received.

Although there's things you need to learn first. I have teached you the basics, but there's much more to learn before you can even think on making your own game" He finished jokingly. He's aware of how good I really am, it wasn't just arrogance. 

In my past life I made a living making games, so letting my family know of my 'talent' in that regard, was one of my first priorities when I realized that this was not the world I once knew. Which turned out to be an easy job with my dad's profession. 

"Of course dad. You can teach me whenever you want" I simply said with a confident smile. I didn't even refer to the ownership topic, there was no way I would change my mind about it.

Samuel Bane, a guy who was just a normal 23 year old in another life, was living in a new world with his memory intact. 

The new world is almost exactly the same as the one he lived before, except that the period of time was similar to the mid 80's that he knew by the movies and tv shows he watched.

This story will focus on how Sam enters the entertainment business. Getting his works published and meeting new people on his way towards an unheard level of success. 

The concept of the story has inspiration in "I'm really a super star", but it's nothing alike.
