"Hahahah! Didn't you puny humans claimed that power was everything and such trickery was a sign of weakness?!" Kiva could already feel his body parts slowing down a little, and that was enough for Wolte's gun systems to place a shot at him, making Kiva fall to the ground.
Gan Yang's suicide attack was to ensure he petrified Kiva so that he could stop dodging their attack. Since the Ravenous Lord had yet to acclimate himself to his new body, it was relatively easy for Gan Yang to get onto him without Kiva noticing.
The rest of Gan Yang's crew decidedly tried to finish up their Captain's job after Wolte had pierced Kiva's wings. They were sure they could 'avenge' their captain as Gan Yang's petrification poison was working its way through Kiva's entire body.
However, the short laughter Kiva let out caused Wolte to have some unsuspecting concerns. True enough, like any type of evolved boss, Kiva was not done yet. The petrification poison had worked initially but as they soon found out Kiva merely shed off the affected part of the abomination body and grew an entirely new one. The petrified pieces of his previous body became the protection it needed to counter against the deadly poisonous strikes of the Royal Snake soldiers.
After which, he brandished his Mantis Blades and cut off the Royal Snake soldiers while shaking the rest of the petrified body parts away, revealing a brand new body. How were they supposed to know that as long as he had his 'bag of tricks' on him, he could indefinitely summon new chimaeras to replace his body, allowing him to become pseudo immortal.
Kiva took the chance to take flight and was once more fast enough to make Wolte's guns appear as nothing but decoration. The Ravenous Lord sheathed the Mantis Blades and revealed a massive spinning drill by putting both of his arms together, allowing it to merge as one.
With a bit of chanting, he imbued his large drill and did a flyover before aiming at the ship's stern. "Traitor Wolte! Accept your undeniable fate! I do not know where you are hiding in this ship but may this be the last time we meet!" Kiva yelled as he pushed all his strength into his insectoid wings and hoped to pierce the entire ship. 
His once timid demeanour seemed to have disappeared with the ascension of his new powers as he attempted to destroy the most powerful weapon in Moloch's disposal.
"Nope, you don't!" Wolte replied and in an instant like a bubble that had burst, the ship disappeared into thin air, leaving only the dead and injured bodies of the Royal Snake Army floating in the sea. Wolte had reverted into his slug form and his buddy Mr Derpy provided him with a magical foam that allowed him to breathe underwater.
Seeing that the ship suddenly disappeared, Kiva was unsure what to do for a moment. Then he looked back to the scientists who were still at the front for the safe zone. To his surprise, no Royal Guards or demon soldiers were keeping them occupied.
It was as if they were all friends and foes watching what was happening to King Baal and Jin. Apparently, the human and Moloch were somehow still able to hold their weight against King Baal, keeping him a little entertained.
"Tsk! And here I thought I was making a brilliant show for them to watch! Damn it! Baal, even if you succeed… Just you wait till the Agents from the Church of the Afterlife come for you!" Kiva grumbled to himself as he flew back at top speed planning to ambush the researchers that had made him into a laughing stock previously.
"Oh, here he comes," Weslie said as the System had alerted them of his incoming assault and Ayse casually looked back.
"He's really grown to become a nuisance. Not only did he remove one of our (surprisingly) greatest assets on the battlefield, but now he wants to take revenge against us? He should deserve punishment and learn his place." Ayse commented.
"Ah, but you cannot deny his art in transmutation. I believe Derek would love to have a discussion about that with him. Who knows, perhaps it might lead to some improvement in our giant monster's ability to grow more crops."
"That is true. If Derek learns how to effectively fuse animals with non-living stuff like metal, it might be possible he could help Rei create the organic robot cockpit interface which we've talked about." Ayse agreed as she prepared a bolt of lightning to shoot at Kiva.
"You cannot be serious!" Weslie was shocked but kept her pneumatic rifle and brought out a steampunk tower shield.
"Why not? If that stupid bat could assist Derek and Rei to make the cockpit, it would be akin to moving our bodies in a clunky metal body easily. Without all those stupid controls. It will be pretty helpful against an armada of space robots and ships to get that Titan Brain. -Huh, I wonder if we can also modify the Stalingrad into a spaceship…" Ayse immediately lost herself in thought, and Weslie quickly moved to her front and blocked the incoming dive assault from Kiva.
The tower shield immediately ledged itself to the ground and an energy battery activated the energy shield to protect the two researchers. It was using the very same shield generator concept they had used for the protection of the anti air companies just that it was a smaller build. In fact, this was the first prototype Ayse had created with Weslie only that this steampunk tower shield had lived through many iterations. 
Abomination Kiva tried to break the defence of the tower shield, but hot air was sprayed out against the assaulter, scalding his face and arms. 
A function which was slightly unconventional since the air exhaust pipes were meant solely to cool down the heat emitted from the shield generator.
Weslie had only thought of the pipes to face upwards, but one of Ayse's comments during the creation process had led to it facing the enemies. "If you can scald them or even distract them from your shield, it will allow you to attack. Then it will actually serve the purpose of defending oneself too." 
It was effective. 
Kiva stopped the attack and flew backwards because the hot air had gotten not only on his face but also in his mouth, throat and lungs as he tried to breathe. 
"Now!" Weslie called as she unhinged the tower shield and kicked it at the bottom right corner, causing it to topple backwards. Weslie kneeled down to support the rest of the tower shield's weight. With a weight differentiation sensor, the tower shield immediately popped up two hinges from the middle edges of the shield and in turn, assisted Weslie from bearing the full weight of the shield.
At the same time, the falling of the tower shield revealed to Kiva that Ayse was preparing a fully charged arc lance with the thunderbolt she had cast on her hand previously. "With pleasure!" Ayse shouted as she already pushed the trigger on her arc induction lance rifle towards the distracted abomination.
"Oh Shit!"

Chapter 1316 – Steampunk Era

 "Thank you, your majesty. I'll do everything I can to thank you for your kindness."

 Di Chen bowed solemnly with tears building up at the corner of his eyes. The feeling of being trusted was simply too precious.

 From this day on, Di Chen's path would be a bright one.

 Ouyang Shuo smiled and said, "Do not forget that we are all children of China; we are one family."

 "Right, one family!"

 Di Chen was filled with emotion. At this moment, he finally placed down the burden in his heart and fully committed to his role.

 Once mortal enemies, the two now exchanged smiles.

 Ouyang Shuo paid attention to Beiyuan, Xijiang, Xikang, and Australia's four construction formations the most.

 After a year of hard work, the four construction formations had reclaimed close to 10 million mu of farm, forest, and animal husbandry land. Many half militarized farms sprung up from the ground, bringing new life to the cold borders of the wilderness.

 They were slowly starting to fill the newly built granaries.

 "We must think of a win-win solution."

 The Persia King muttered as his eyes shone with a pondering light.

 As the 10th month arrived, the Great Xia Imperial Court's large-scale House removal operation finally came to an end.

 The huge storm finally settled, allowing them to exert even more power.

 The most obvious effect was the 20% decrease in crime rate.

 In conclusion, the strategies that the Imperial Court had set at the start of the year were reaching completion.

 To Great Xia, the 8th year had been a year of great harvest. Although it was not that apparent, their strength had reached a new level, and everyone looked at them differently.

 10th month, 20th day, Great Xia's first power plant was built on the west outskirts of the imperial capital and was officially put into use. The imperial capital had lights for the first time.

 This was an era crossing moment for Great Xia.

 Ouyang Shuo even personally attended the ceremony, lightning up the first light in the imperial city.

 The era of electricity had arrived.

 To Ouyang Shuo and the other players, these scenes were familiar yet foreign.

 In the real world, incandescent light bulbs had been eliminated. For it to appear in the game world, a place where martial arts and technology coexisted, felt a little weird.

 Ouyang Shuo thought of a way to describe this current situation - a steampunk era.

 An era that contained both modern technologies and mysterious powers. 

 To the players, this should be the best era. They could enjoy the convenience brought to them by technology while walking further on the path of individual evolution.

 Humans and technology worked together as one.

 Unlike in the real world, where humans devolved as technology improved.

 At 9am, the Empire Olympics began.

 Ouyang Shuo personally attended the opening ceremony and gave a fervent speech. He advocated for the entire country to be active for the first time, listing health as one of the highest priorities of the Empire.

 Following which, the emperor troupe, emperor artist group, and other art groups performed a brilliant opening ceremony for the tens of thousands of spectators.

 They showed off the essence of Chinese civilization perfectly.

 In the next half a month, the imperial capital would be in a state of happiness and excitement due to this event. Thousands of athletes would give it their all to chase for the top.

 The first athletics records of the Empire were also set and recorded in history.

 Outside of Great Xia, the chaos stopped and a resting period began due to the due to the arrival of winter. The battlefields slowly fell silent.
The involved parties used this precious time to rest up and accumulate more grain and resources. For example, the Ottoman Dynasty needed to make use of this winter to recruit more troops.

 The current peace was merely the calm before yet another storm.

 Ouyang Shuo predicted that the 9th year of Gaia would still have war as the main topic. Once this round of wars ended, the global landscape would be renewed, and maybe they would have peace then.

 A short period of peace.

 In Gaia's mind, the game world would not truly have peace unless a super empire unified the world.

 However, such a matter was really difficult to accomplish.

 Even someone as confident as Ouyang Shuo did not think that Great Xia had the ability.

 In the last week before winter, the other three dynasties replied to the Pacific Ocean trading rules proposed by Great Xia.

 The four-party discussion would begin.

 In the next few months, representatives from all four sides would have round after round of discussions. It would take so long because the four sides did not trust one another.

 This was destined to be a negotiation path filled with holes and hurdles.

 Ouyang Shuo sent Di Chen as the team leader of this negotiation team; he would be fully in charge of this matter.

 From this moment on, Di Chen was fully accepted by Great Xia.

Well, that just happened. First, me and two friends die and appear in a pitch-black void standard stuff of an isekai novel right. I mention that to my friends reminding Dryad of the tropes since she seems weirdly out of it claiming to see colours but looking around again, yeah this place is empty as all hell. But damn, her voice sounded weird for a second. What was it she said?
"What are you two talking about, can't you two see the ć̴͇͙ò̴̩̆ḷ̸̃̀o̶͖͍͝u̴͉͆̀ṛ̷̗̑s̵͎̿ in the distance"
Then god appears threatening to kill us what an asshole. Then another guy appears killing god claiming to be the devil.
I now feel him looking at me "I do not claim to be the devil child. I am the devil."
Well fuck, guess the devil can read minds.
"Yes I can, and it is rude to think about someone while in telepathy distance."
The devil clears his throat for a seconds before putting on what I can only describe as a customer service smile and voice.
"You three young souls, caused an apocalypse yes? That results in a lot of harmful Karma more so because the world wasn't meant to end yet meaning you three somehow destroyed fate and destiny within your world that is quite an achievement. After all, it means that as your world ended so did every single possible parallel timeline truly a masterpiece of destruction."
Wiping a fake tear from its eye the devil continues. "Now, as a fellow world ender, I can respect new people joining the craft as such I have taken it upon myself to introduce myself and give you two options."
I begin to feel hope rising in my chest. Is this it? could it be my chance for a bullshit multiverse wish fulfilment journey. I see both the devil and my friends looking at me funny. Did I say that outloud?

Mr gunslinger gives a dead-eyed expression and states "No, but you are vibrating so much it's easy to tell what you're thinking."
The devil clears his throat with a faint look of amusement. "Now Option the first, I eat you, this will spare you from the torment that your negative karma will ensure you face in the afterlife. Side benefit, I get to eat. Option the second, I using my phenomenal cosmic power, convert that negative karma into boons for your next life in a world of your choosing. A side benefit I get entertainment and you get the chance to end a second world. I'll give you some time to converse."
---The Artist's POV---
"I say we take it." Of course he does, he basically demanded a dnd campaign from dryad about exactly this. Speaking of, she seems to be staring somewhere far off looking at colours that I can't seem to see. Sighing, I turn to the overactive puppy in orb form. 

"You do recall he is The Devil right? No guarantee anything he's saying is real. Being eaten may actually be preferable to whatever he has planned." Of course, I don't actually believe this, how could I, I helped him convince dryad into planning that campaign, still it's easier if I pretend to disagree if only to prompt a debate about it. Who knows, maybe a third being will appear and kill The Devil. 
I'll pretend I didn't just hear It snort. 
"It is." This comes from dryad who seems to be focused on us now.
"What?"
"It is real."
"How could you possibly know that?"
"̶͖̔T̶͔̾h̸͇͑e̸̬̐̎ ̶̨̓͜͝c̸͇͐̉ō̴̡̤l̷̼̐ͅo̴̡͈̎͂ȕ̶͚r̵̙̣̍͘s̴͍̒͠ ̴̮͋t̵̻̄ọ̷̏l̵̀̍ͅd̵͒ͅ ̴̝̼̚m̶̭̳̓e̷͇̐ͅ.̸̱̙̎̈́"̷͙̣̓͝
I look at the puppy "Okay not gonna question that, so two against one right, so we take the deal."
They both give the best nod possible for a disembodied orb in an empty nothing. The puppy nods a lot more enthusiastically. 
I turn to the Devil "I guess we take the deal then."
He gives a brief childish clap in excitement. "Wonderful, it would be such a shame to eat such wonderful potential world enders. Now then let me display the karma that each of you has accrued."
---The Writer's POV---
With a snap 3 glowing grey orbs appear in front of each of us. In front of Marine is an orb only slightly large than himself. In front of Steampunk, an orb that is slightly larger than Marine's and in front of me one slightly larger than Steampunk's. 
"Ah but it must be annoying to be just orbs, and we wouldn't want that to disrupt your decision making." With another snap all 3 of us are in blank humanoid forms like mannequins. "So what will you be having."
Again I hear that voice that is not a voice whisper. w̷̗̰̽i̶̥̖̒͘s̷͆͜h̸̳͍́̿ and that prompts something.

Before either of my friends can speak I cut in because I can see Marine about to ask for a system. "A question first, If each of us were to exchange all of our karma for wishes how many would we each receive."
I can feel both Marine and Steampunk looking at me. 
The devil gives a slight grin. "Based on your contributions to the end of your world you may receive 5 wishes."
Points to Steampunk "4 Wishes."
Points to Marine "3 Wishes."
Before I respond I hear the not a voice whisper V̸̘̑̔o̶̻͚̓͘i̴̿͜d̸͍̝̏ ̸̤͑r̶̰̳͌u̴̲̤̅̀l̸̼̠̓̂e̴͙͊̍s̴̟̽͝
"I'll accept that trade then, I will exchange all of my Karma for 5 wishes according to the void rules."
Steampunk seems to have caught on "I too will exchange all of my Karma for 4 wishes according to the void rules."
Marine looks between us before shrugging. "Fuck it, I will exchange all of my Karma for 3 wishes according to the void rules."
The devil seems taken aback before a huge grin spreads across his face as he looks at me. "I don't know how you know about those rules but this just became a lot more entertaining. So what will you wish for there are limits naturally though they are fairly intuitive no wishing for anything excessive for instance but according to void rules you all receive one 'grand wish' which is just a way of saying you get to negotiate the specifics of the wish."
Steampunk looks at me. "Soul, Mind, Body and 3 for the group."
Realising what he is suggesting I Nod. I look over at Marine and am surprised to see he seems to get it as well. Did death make him smarter?
I look up at the devil "For the first wish, I would like all 3 of us to receive a class-based auxilliary system with no AI, that has the restriction of only granting passive skills but can also enable us to travel the multiverse after completing a specific mission within the world we are in. I would also like for that to be the only type of mission that the system can grant."
The Devil gives a little nod. "Lucky you used the word auxilliary and added that restriction otherwise it would have cost an extra wish but yeah that's reasonable. You will not be able to spread it to anyone else though as it will not have a party system."
Squaring my now plastic shoulders I speak again "For my second wish, I would like all 3 of us to have the option of selecting 3 races or bloodlines each all of which will be fully manifested as though they were our initial race with all of their upsides and none of the downsides. The 3 bloodlines will not fuse together and should in our travel we receive an additional bloodline through some method it will only be able to fuse with one of our 3 bloodlines."
The devil thinks "That will work, although some of the more extreme benefits possible may be reduced as a result."
"That's Fine."
The devil now turns to look at Steampunk as Marine whispers to me. "Why only passive skills."
I whisper back as Steampunk makes his wish. "Easy to train as any action will affect every passive skill attached to it with no need to activate anything. It will make it easier for a smooth brain like yours."
Steampunk speaks clearly and succinctly "I would like all 3 of us to receive a permanent 2X multiplier to all aspects relating to our growth, such that any form of exercise or training will have twice the results."
Steampunk then looks over at Marine "It's only 2X because it will allow us to always be seen as talented in anything we do in any world that we travel to without being seen as an overwhelming prodigy as that can draw the wrong kind of attention."
The Devil claps drawing our attention to the fact that it has split into 3 different bodies all identical. "So from what you discussed earlier you will no all be making 3 wishes, for my own amusement I will be separating you as you make these wishes, but I will also allow you to customise your appearance while separate so you can shock each other. But before that, what world would you like to go to." 
Both Steampunk and I look at Marine to let him pick since we got extra wishes. 
He doesn't even hesitate "A world that directly follows the main canon of Danmachi appearing a year before canon begins in a version without any other transmigrator or reincarnation fuckery."
Even the devil look shocked at how quickly he gave that answer but agrees anyway.

Once upon a time 3 idiots made a fake news story. 4 months later they died in the 1st nuclear strike that would start the end of the world. What will these 3 idiotic dnd playing nerds do now in their next life.

So yeah uhhh, that's the thing, I want a good steampunk apocalypse book, and guess what? Steampunk Apocalypse (mind the capitalization, it's an actual webnovel, read it, not a suggestion or something, DO IT) got dropped, don't know what happened, don't know why, it's been like two years, fuck you snoozy I love you WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME anyway... what was I saying? Ok, let's stop with the bullshittery and start with the true synopsis, we're in a post apocalyptic world, most technology is lost, (you'll know how if you continue reading... eventually), the planet has no name for it was lost during the various wars, more or less you can be whatever you want, male, female, lakitu, pick your poison, and you can fuck whatever you want, you know, people can't judge if you have super powers that can obliterate half planet, that's what happened, some sicko that likes to fuck cacti becomes god? well, let's extend that LGBTQ+ list once more i guess. Apart from that, I don't wanna ruin the fun, so, for more lore, keep reading :)

At the border of the wilderness plain.
Sugar Ruins City.
In a wide and bright dome-shaped classroom.
"Student Gurney, what do you think is the most important thing for a mage?"
On the podium of the large domed classroom currently holding a supernatural lecture, the female lecturer Hillary Potter, a tall and proud figure with pale skin and curly blond hair, called out Gurney and asked.
Sixteen-year-old Gurney Lawrence, who had short black hair, black pupils, and was wearing a black turtleneck shirt, stood up and answered in a calm, composed manner, "I think that a mage needs to learn to be tanky. Only then can he hold his ground and be able to unleash his spells properly."
Once he had said that, the fifty Apprentice Mage students in the classroom went into a daze for a moment before someone erupted with chuckles.
Followed by someone's laughter, and finally, everyone's uncontrollable and hysterical laughter.
The entire classroom was filled with laughter.
Senior Mage Hillary Potter was also unable to hold back as she laughed along.
It was nothing but common sense; as a magic-focused Transcendent, the most important thing was to be proficient in all of the powerful spells that you knew, as well as all sorts of supernatural knowledge.
As for the idea that this student Gurney thought of — for mages to be tanky — it was way too absurd.
"Can you describe your viewpoint concisely?" Hillary Potter did not rebuke Gurney's words.
Because these students of Sugar Ruins City Academy were still young boys and girls who had yet to step into the adult world.
When they truly experienced the "blood" and "terror" of this mysterious supernatural world, they would give up on those "immature" ideas.
They would walk on the path of a mage that countless pioneering elites and genius Transcendents had created before them.
Facing his classmates' mockery, Gurney showed no changes in his expression. He did not feel ashamed because of their response; he was simply calm and composed.
After a short silence, he continued to explain, "As we all know, mages have very powerful long-range offensive methods and the extremely high power output capable of targeting a large area. These are traits that other supernatural classes cannot match."
"But in terms of defense against physical and magic attacks, we are relatively weaker, or rather, our bodies are as thin as paper. We get torn apart instantly with just one hit.
"The result is that many powerful and outstanding supernatural mages die in the hands of skilled assassins. Sneak attackers with peculiar or unique abilities might also get into close range and kill the mage in an extremely unfair manner.
"From what I know, in the history of Oasia North Continent, there had been several incidents where high-ranking Spellcasters were sneak-attacked and had their defenses broken through, causing their bodies to be torn to shreds. This was what resulted in the Black Crane incident, which led several important events to go down an unpredictable path.
"If a mage is willing to spend time and effort to train their body, to allow their body to gain greater endurance against attacks, they would still be able to survive in complex situations even if they lost their shield. They will also then be able to counterattack their enemies."
"A good viewpoint." Hillary Potter nodded slightly. "But the problem is, mages are weak in physical strength and defense, to begin with.
"Don't you think that spending that time and effort on researching spell knowledge would have far greater efficiency than raising your endurance?
"Furthermore, as your supernatural knowledge becomes deeper, you will be able to explore the Ancient Ruins, the Fog Wilderness Plain, as well as board the recently popular Steampunk Steel Ship. You will be able to survive these sea explorations and deserted island excavations, gaining more supernatural resources for yourself.
"With enough resources, you will become an even stronger mage. You will not have to worry about your own defense and vitality, instead of ending up as a weaker mage that has some sort of defensive capability."
Hillary Potter easily rebuked Gurney's words.
Next, she waved her hand to indicate that he should sit down; she did not give him a chance to argue.
As for Gurney, he was not like other teenagers who would be anxious to defend and explain their view to the lecturer either.
He sat down calmly with a tranquil expression.
It was as if the discussion earlier could not raise any emotions in his heart.
I get the logic, but as a fragile mage, survival is still the most important. Wanting to pursue greater firepower but not survivability, this sort of extreme path is not safe! Gurney who had sat down sighed internally.
There was also a reason why Gurney Lawrence pointed out that "mages should be tanky" and "stability is key".
Mainly because he was a transmigrator, one who had a careful nature from birth.
Half a year ago, on a stormy night.
In Summoner's Canyon, Gurney's tanky-mage character, Wanderer, beat the opponent's fragile Mage with a 9 to 0 score.
During his excitement, Gurney knocked over a bottle and caused a short circuit. He was electrocuted. But after that shock, he received another: he had transmigrated to an alternate world.
It was a mysterious steampunk world.
When he first arrived, Gurney felt fear, uneasiness, and a sense of loss. However, after a while, Gurney started to feel excited that he was an orphan[1] here; it was a good sign.
After half a year.
Gurney was finally able to accept and had adapted to his new identity — he was an adopted orphan with a decent talent as a mage.
After learning about this world's terror and danger while knowing that he was a fragile mage, Gurney, who was a careful person, naturally chose to walk on the path of the tanky mage, which suited him best.
Even though his tanky mage theory was rebuked by his lecturer, Gurney did not feel any dejectedness.
The concept of a tanky mage existed in the world of Magecraft; Gurney was not the person who came up with it.
However, in this world, the mainstream path for a mage was to learn spell knowledge to gain control of stronger spells. The idea of a tanky mage was too unorthodox.
It was impossible for him to try and change the ideal of supreme spellcasting that the students in the class held with just some words.
But for Gurney, the tankiness (or rather, the lack of) of other people was their own problem.
Gurney himself was careful to the limit. Naturally.
In this supernatural steampunk world, the reason why Gurney wanted to walk the path of a tanky mage was, first of all, that he had a cautious nature and loved the survivability of a strong body.
The second reason was that the idea of a tanky mage was completely feasible in his situation…
On the podium.
Hillary Potter was teaching the Apprentice Mages about various techniques and rules, among which were stories of explorations in the Steam Ruins.
Many students were listening attentively to her words.
And Gurney, who already had more avenues to this information compared to other people, knew even more supernatural information than that.
The details regarding the various mysterious ruin explorations that Gurney knew were far bloodier and crueler than what Hillary Potter was describing.
Thus, he lacked interest in the lecturer's words.
His gaze went toward the hazy window. The first thing that he focused on was the unique style of Sugar Ruins City, its color and appearance heavily resembling Byzantine architecture.
The style of this city's architecture was only similar to the Byzantine era. For the finer details, the supernatural steampunk style covered the city with beautiful mechanical lines and curves.
Large and small houses, along with high-rises and bungalows, extended to the outskirts like scales on a body.
Next, looking further, large steel-framed steampunk-styled steam factories, with their huge steel chimneys spewing dense black smoke, occupied the periphery of Sugar Ruins City.
Looking even further, one could see the supernatural steam trains on the outskirts of the city.
At this moment, a steam train was emitting a loud noise as it burned the newly excavated black iron ores and gradually traveled far away.
This was the world that Gurney was in — the Supernatural Steampunk World.
It was the steampunk era that had the supernatural steam engine as the heart, the huge steel frames as the skeleton, and the supernatural knowledge of the mystical as the flesh and blood — all progressing towards prosperity and breaking through hurdles to discover the unknown territories of the world.
Thankfully, Gurney who had transmigrated to this mysterious world was not alone: a very powerful "Passive Farming System" had come along with him.
The location of this Sugar Ruins City that Gurney resided in was the intersection point of this world's steampunk civilization and the mysterious supernatural wilderness; it was the "City of Riches" that was filled with both danger and opportunities.
As for the currently weak Gurney, he was still carefully living in this dangerous city by the fringe, quietly farming away passively.

Mages should focus on learning more spells and magic? There is no time to invest in body strengthening? Mages are defenseless when they run out of mana? Welcome to the Supernatural Steampunk Era!

Going back to my house that day was strange, not only because I killed seven terrorists, but also because I saved everyone on the bus, it felt rather nice helping everyone even if I was not thinking about them when I did it, it may sound kinda cruel but I genuinely don't care about any them.
I mean I am not some emotionless psychopath, it's just that I would choose myself and my family first before any of them, so is really that bad that I think like it? I guess it is something fairly normal even for someone as bizarre as me.
Reaching home I set to do my things and cultivate for the night, soon I will reach the [Second Step] of my Ki training and would have to start doing some physical exercises while I cycle my technique.
The night passed relatively fast, I even decided to stop cultivating a bit and sleep for some time, in the end, the strength for the mind is just as important as my Ki, and after the things, I did today some sleep could undoubtedly be a good idea.

The sleep was indeed a good idea, I woke up feeling a whole lot better. Did I felt more light? I guess, also that's range pressure I had at the back fo my eyes disappeared, Guess it was just a build-up of exhaustion due to using [Sharingan] too much whiteout resting properly, But that is also a good sign, it means that my eyes and nerves are getting more used to the [Sharingan].
But after the whole terrorist ordeal from yesterday, I just want a calm and peaceful day today, maybe I can enter soccer practice in the PE classes. Soccer sure brings me some good memories with my father... I guess it's nice that my first thoughts about him aren't as depressing anymore and just some genuine good memories...
Smiling remembering some good times, I went to the kitchen to make a good and hefty breakfast, today I will be a bit lavish with myself and eat some things that are absolutely delicious and are almost certainly bad for my health.
The good news is that there was a bus for me to ride to the school, I thought after yesterday incident they would be closed or something, but either the murim alliance is extremely good at hiding their shit, or the CEO of the bus company is a complete Chad and said "fuck it" to the terrorists. Is it wise? most certainly not. Does it sound absolutely cool in my head? heck yeah.

Reaching school I finally took some time to appreciate what a nice and beautiful day is today, with all the things I have to deal with in my life, I guess just appreciating a simply nice day fell short somewhat. When was the time I last saw the sunrise? I... simply can't remember. Something so trivial and that we take for granted like sunrise, it's so beautiful and we simply don't take 20 seconds to look and appreciate it, sad but true, and I can't complain much because I am the same.
I just can't simply imagine not having the sun every day there, it simply doesn't register in my mind how it could NOT be there you know. The same as space... The universe should be infinite right? but it is also in constant expansion too, how can something be infinite and be in constant expansion at the same time, doesn't you need clear boundaries to "expand"?
Talking about expansion I should try to examine my mother before her disease does it, I may not have the sheer experience and dedication of a normal doctor but maybe a fresh outlook can give me a lead to a cure? Worth checking it out. I can also try to research things on my own, but the fact that I don't own a laboratory and neither I am close to one is a pretty bummer on this plan, maybe the [Sahringan] can help? it can see at a cellular level so maybe I can analyze her cells? I know I am grasping for straws right now, but a man can dream, right?
But I guess I shouldn't fill my head with my usual thoughts, my objective today is to enjoy my day and relax a bit. Sadly my overactive mind just looked at the sun and made all sorts of weird connections and philosophical thoughts, sadly I can't decide if that is a good or a bad thing.
Entering my classroom I simply sat on my desk, getting comfortable on my desk I finally took note of the letter on my desk, it looked strangely like some love letter, the paper was colored pink and there was a heart-shaped sticker on it, and if this isn't a love letter i don't know hat it is.
Opening the letter I start to read, there was actually a lot of thought into it, whatever who wrote this really did put a lot of effort into writing this, heck there was even a handmade poem. Sadly it didn't have any names written on it, it only said to meet me close to the school field after classes.
I honestly don't know how to react to that, but I guess I should at least met this person, principally after whatever had all this work on making this letter. It just feels kinda strange for it to not have any names or things of the sort, but maybe the girl who wrote it is just shy?
The class soon started and right now the Sociology teacher is passing a group assignment to us, he basically separated us into groups of four and asked for us to choose a genre of media we like and talk/convince the class to search for it. We would have some time between the group to decide the kinks and details of the presentation, but the objective here is not to make something spectacular. It's just an activity to incentivize the students at reading books and maybe found something they could like.
Joining four desks I looked at my group, a red-haired glasses-wearing girl named Chung-Ae, she is quite a good student by what I was able to tell, close to her is a blonde black-eyed girl with sharp features named Bo-Bae, and at my side is the soccer team captain Bong Chin, he has fairly broad shoulders and his hair is cut very short, he eyes are black and possessing an intensity fo someone who truly loves what he does. I guess introducing myself to them would be a good and polite start.
"Hello people, My name is Yang Jin. I hope we can work together nicely."(Jin).
"Hello, my name is Chung-Ae."(Ae).
"Sup, my name is Bo-Bae and I just want to finish this assignment soon."(Bae).
"Hah, my name is Bong Chin and I am sure we will fucking rock this assignment."(Bong).
"So... Have any of you thought of a preferred genre you want to present?"(Jin).
"I would like a mystery or something, they are always my favorites. But I guess I could set for a romance, maybe one of the classics could be an example?"(Ae).
"Nah, that is too boring... We need some action here, we could even expand to something crazy like steampunk or cyberpunk, they are my favorites."(Bong).
"I don't have any preferences, for anything you all decided I can work with. As long as it not stupid of course."(Bae).
"I like fantasy the most, so as long as it isn't those normal boring things I could probably accept anything."(Jin).
"Hah that's not fair... This basically excludes everything that I like."(Ae).
"Not necessarily, there is a lot of those elements you like in both the cyberpunk and fantasy genre, it's not the focus sometimes but you surely could find some works with them, sometimes even both."(Jin).
"That... I guess it makes sense? I never thought by this angle to be honest."(Ae).
"Hah, that is normal. I also always hated both cyberpunk and steampunk before get to know them, I would always look at those weird things and avoid them, but when I really did decide to read them I became a huge fan."(Bong).
"You got me a little curious, to be honest. Is it really that good?"(Bae).
"I won't lie to you and say it all good, like every genre there is the bad and the incredible in there if you want I can recommend some works of it for you, it's definitely worth a shot."(Bong).
"Yeah, and there is also a bunch of RPG games centered around the theme."(Jin).
"Games? Like those you play on a Playstation or something?"(Bae).
"Nah, tabletop RPG is called Role Playing Game, It basically a game where you interpret, act, and play as a character. There is also the DM who controls and guides the history, it's pretty interesting and totally with a shot."(Jin).
"Wow, you learn something new every day."(Bae).
"... something got me curious. Why are you in a hurry for this Bae?"(Bong).
"It that I already passed in sociology, so I just wanted to play on my phone until the classes end. But I never thought it could lead to something so interesting here."(Bae)
"Hah, that is one of the beautiful things about life, it's always changing and always full of surprises."(Jin).
"That is indeed true. But for me the biggest surprise was you Jin."(Bae).
"Me? Why?"(Jin).
"Wait you don't know?"(Bae/Ae/Bong).
"Know what? I don't have some dirt on my face, right?"(Jin).
"No, it's not that. It's because you are super duper scary."(Bae).

"Yeah, you have all that serious, heavy, and unapproachable aura around you."(Ae).
"Besides you are fucking huge dude, and also ripped as hell, heck even I fear you a bit. How tall are you 2.00 meters?"(Bong).
"I am 1.95...*sigh* I didn't know I was so scary like that."(Jin)
"Do you know I first thought you worked for the mob, I mean... you literally got the body for it, liking it or not that is a huge intimidation factor."(Ae).
"Yeah and the fact that you scare absolutely everyone, heck you even scared Chang-Ho gang with just a look. IF that shit isn't scary I don't know what is."(Bae).
"I... don't know what to say, to be honest. I never had this problem in my previous school, or just simply didn't care enough to notice."(Jin).
"Hah, don't worry as scary as you may be, you are a pretty cool dude when someone's talks to you."(Bong).
"Yeah, that really surprised me, to be honest."(Bae).
"A pleasant surprise if I do say myself."(Ae).
You could almost see the tension in the air left, and it's quite funny that I simply grew used to such a thing that when it leaves its quite glaring what I was missing this whole time, I didn't think this group would turn out to be such a pleasant surprise. What a nice day indeed.
"...So I was thinking about his old RPG called Cyberpunk 2020, it's pretty old but the guy nailed some pretty cool elements on it, and it's definitely something worthy of talking about."(Bong).
"That could work, I also have something I like particularly very much. The Elder Scrolls series."(Jin).
"Isn't that about magic and stuff?"(Bong).
"Yeah, but it also has some steampunk elements on it, The Dwemer principally is based on these concepts, it may be a bit of a stretch, but I am a fan, so maybe we could just give it a mention, or as some kind of example how it permeated other genres?"(Jin).
"That sounds interesting... I will search for it a bit on my cellphone, just give me a minute."(Bong).
"So... It doesn't need to be specifically the genre itself?"(Ae).
"I guess you at least need to focus on your genre, but giving some nitpicks on other things with just some elements of steampunk and cyberpunk should be enough."(Jin).
"Does Sword Art Online counts as cyberpunk? Maybe Star Wars does?"(Ae).
"I don't know... those sound more like Sci-fi to me... Maybe cyberpunk is something more like Blade Runner or Metal Gear Rising."(Jin).
"I know Blade Runner, but the other one..."(Ae).
"Don't worry it's game, a quick google search and you could already get the gist of it."(Jin).
"Huh, At least the name sounds cool."(Ae).
"Well... I was looking at it on my phone and I never knew cyberpunk was such a huge thing. I mean, it literally millions of works that I didn't even know existed... It surprising."(Bae).
"I know how you feel, it was the same for me when I discovered the Lit-Rpg genre, I never thought such a huge community existed... It was extremely surprising, that just showed that sometimes the bubble where we live could also be a bad thing."(Jin).
"I guess you are right."(Bae).
After that, we discussed some more about our theme, with some incredibly enlightening searches on google and a lot of enthusiasm we were able to create quite a good presentation, and I had to admit that I had quite a good time with it, it was a fun and nice experience where I went and explored the tip of the iceberg of what cyberpunk genre is. Now I am diving into which part will present by which respective person.
"Can I make the introduction?"(Jin).
"Fien by me, but I want to make the conclusion."(Bong).
"I will talk about the body. "(Bae).
"An I will talk about the extras."(Ae).
"Let's do this."(Everyone).
We patiently waited for the teacher to start calling the groups for the presentation, we were fairly pumped up, even Bae who at the star didn't give it much thought, right now she seems pretty excited for the presentation, guess she ended up liking the genre more than I thought. But that is a good thing, maybe she can even become a writer in the future, who knows?
After two group presentations, it was finally our time, our group went to the front of the classroom. We had already told our time to the teacher so he simply looked at us and announced.
"Now for the third group, a presentation about Cyberpunk. Check this out."(Teacher).
"Good morning class, my name is Yang Jin and our presentation is like the teacher said about the cyberpunk genre. Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a dystopian futuristic setting that tends to focus on a "combination of low-life and high tech" featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order. Much of cyberpunk is rooted in the New Wave science fiction movement of the 1960s and 1970s-"(Jin).
I continued talking and making the introduction of our presentation, of course, the content is heavily simplified, we just made the presentation after all. But the group flowed pretty smoothly, all things considered, we were able to say our piece and I could easily tell there are some people interested in the crowd. Heck, even the teacher looks curious right now.
After Bong finished the conclusion there were some questions by the other students, so we stayed five more minutes to answer some curiosity they may have, and when it really ended the teacher said.
"Good, very good. I could clearly see that at least one of you is a huge fan of the genre. You most certainly got the maximum on my evaluation. And you bet I will check some of these books."(Teacher).
After that, we went back to our seats and waited for the last groups to finish their respective presentations, it was nice, as it also appears that we aren't the only ones who got pumped up doing the presentation, the teacher looks remarkably satisfied with the results. Sadly the class eventually ended.
 "So class, we are ending here for today. Be sure to not run on the hall towards your PE classes. See you all next week."(Teacher).
After that, the teacher exits the classroom making most of the students start busying themselves with getting ready for the PE class. When I was doing my things my group came towards me.
"So... We thought that even if you look kinda scary you are a pretty cool dude, so we decided to create a group chat for us. And you are of course invited."(Ae).
"Thanks, my number is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. See you guys in PE."(Jin).
"You are going to play Soccer right?"(Bong).
 "Sure, why not? It has been some time since I played any sports."(Jin).

Yang Jin reincarnated on what he thought was a simple normal life. After some traumatic events, he awakens his [Sharingan] and proceeds to explore his newfound powers and discover more mysteries about himself, like the strange yellow sparks that have been helping him, or the mysterious purple flame that only appears when he is truly angry.
