In the surrounding cordoned off area of our birthing place we have Dragons, Gorillas, Harpies, Panthers etc... 

The Harpies... are rather cruel, conducting the winds like torturers, creating vacuums at levels of space where other species would otherwise be resting or standing vigil. Forcing the decision whether to watch, fight or survive on lesser evolved existances. 

The Gorillas pay no heed to the lives lost during this event. 

The Dragons are amused its laughable that the majority of the species present are non insectoid with the way their calculating profit and loss, there's no way they really believe that their getting even a single resource this strange object will likely award, with the way it manipulated the Mana in the atmosphere. 


The Panthers, they just skulk around waiting for an oppertunity to catch prey when their guard is down, whatever fallen star this object turns out to be doesn't matter its new, there's no way to predict whether it'll actually help in ones way to increase strength. It's a gamble their not willing to get in on so they lye and wait.

All living beings have a cap on the amount of mana they can store within themselves and control, this individual cap can be manipulated from birth to the end of life span but it requires the mixing and matching of genes and enviroment.

Humans/humanoid species have organically produced an organ/s that collects, stores and splices mana, this splicing directly effects how the humanoid develops many miscellaneous passive metaphysical powers in the form of abilities, any and all abilities gained while splicing can be developed and bred into a singular or branching path that can be explored to the peak by one self or to those a path me be passed onto. The truest essence of the system is to pave a grander path for transformation of the soul. mental will increases the amount of abilities that can be used at any given time while also increasing the duration in which they can be used also the cap is a baseline for intellectual and philosophical prowess, the more a human delves into information pertaining to relavent abilities the higher the affinity with their mental will, while also giving a less heavily will needed expence with every action executed by affinity familiar abilities.

Beasts: Beasts mutate and gain the physical enhancements of those they choose to hunt, kill and consume, the more they consume of a particular species of which enhancements they desire all other meats they consume to satiate hunger will only fill mana reserves but also make the instict of the desired enchantment decline while those with a similar enhancement will increase the instinct of said physical augmentation and becomes a true physical limb controlled with instinct instead of mental will. The beasts have an inner world inside their bodies that produces a kind of personal space conducive to their current genes and help in giving the beast a place in which to rest and sleep off the timer until a new physical limb is controlled by instinct instead of mental will but mostly just until their genes have completely adapted to the foreign DNA and new DNA can be introduced to continue the cycle the process of integration while also giving a natrual mana spring in which to restore perosnal mana reserves usually the amount of time until a beasts DNA adapts to foreign DNA is dependant on how long it last mutated and until a limb becomes instinct not will everytime DNA is introduced the next time a beasts genes will be able to mute would be 5x the amount of time taken to master a new enhancement so if they don't want this process to take millennia until their next mutation the only way to avoid decreasing the amount of instinct is to feast upon humanoid life, each humanoid life extinguished would give a very negligible increase to instinct of any enhancement but also satiate hunger without a loss to any instinct, in order to materialize an enhancement a beast would have to consume mana.

A magical adventure filled with deadly, terrifying, cunning monsters who greedily seek out power. Shredding limbs, crushing bone and drinking the blood of those who would stand before them.

After we managed to clean the last of worms, I took a peep out of the cave. The views of the lake were quite impressive. I could see the surface full of light and green with the river moving the waters where it met the lake. 

I was 12 or 15 meters below the surface, so the pressure should be slightly over two times that of the surface. Darwin had been monitoring it and told me our body could adapt to support extreme situations, and this amount of pressure is no issue at all, luckily. 

After a few minutes, my eyes adapted to the lower light, and I decided to send a small force of few collectors to the walls and rocks nearby to gather algae and some other plants that we finally found outside the cave. Samples!

I also had two fighters monitoring the situation and guarding the gathering operation while I remained in the cave, hidden.

After a couple of hours, we cleared a radius of 5 to 6 meters in all directions, but there were a few rocks filled with life and many fascinating little animals near the top of the lake that intrigued me. 

The transport unit had gone a few times to the surface to supply us with air to breathe, and I was dying to go there to collect biomass. 

Despite the promise of new DNA strands, I could feel danger with all the open areas where I had not much control or visibility. 

"I think it's time to upgrade the sensors. This aquatic medium has messed with my perception too much." 

* "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, hit it!"

I suddenly felt a painful sensation erupting. "Argh! Damn, my eyes!!" 

After ten painful minutes of upgrading my eyes and sensors, I finally recovered and started to pick new readings. I could see heat and cold areas and had weak sonar-like echolocation too. 

I swam towards the lake again, and now I can sense the rocky areas, like a small oasis in the vast lake, filled with life. 

There were some readings at the bottom area that I can't fully translate into a clear image. But they were big. "Darwin, keep an eye at any movement from the bottom of the lake."

These new senses showed me that there was indeed movement beyond my sight. And that meant risk. I could try to create more units, but that might void my actual psychic link with the transporters back at the base. Nevertheless, I don't feel such connections being as stable as before.

I was too far from the base for a long time, so they might have turned feral, as Darwin said it would happen. 

When Tyranids are too far from a psychic link, they regress to a more feral state, even fighting one another in extreme cases. 

I have not found a solution yet, but I was certainly worried about having a constant necessity to control and micromanage every unit steps.

"Well… that leaves me with potentially eight units." 

Then I will go with four fighters, and the rest will be collectors. Hmmm, for the fighters composition, two quick ones for damage, one scout and a heavy unit with chitin and pincers to lock down enemies.

"Ok, let's start. Darwin, I'll let you the scout to investigate, and I'll move with the tank and fighters."

- "Understood."

We then swam quickly to the first rocky area, which was full of corals, algae, and some fishes, most of which I had never seen or heard.  

The collectors started to devour a bit of everything while the two agile fighters hunt the fish, the scout was warding with Darwin paying attention to it for any surprises. 

As the operation was going on quite smoothly, I swam to the surface for a quick view of the forest. And I didn't like what I saw. Not at all.

I saw a weird scenery, much different from the verdant forest from a few days ago. 

A white fog covered half of the forest. 

Yet as I paid more attention, I saw dozens of trees covered in spider webs, while the other half of the forest, as well as the meadows, were decorated with colorful and innocent-looking flowers. 

That innocence was lost when I saw that most of them were growing on the dead and dried corpses of the rabbits and several other animals, including spiders.  

"Oh, fuck! I removed the bomb units throwing acid at the door. The spiders might have gotten into the biome in the last hours."

I am astonished by the amount of ground they managed to cover in such a short time. 

- "Host, we have now a huge disadvantage if we go back to the surface. We will need to fight against both enemies."

"But at least it seems those two are not working together. At least not that I can see." 

I hold my breath, trying not to attract any attention towards my position near the lake. 

- "There has been a shift in the equilibrium of those creatures." 

"Yeah, and I probably caused much of this damage all by myself, provoking both sides with my actions."

Some birds and lizards were living on rocky walls that the flowers or spiders had not yet colonized. But except for them, the biome is ruined.

While inspecting the area and waiting for any movements or fights, I failed to notice a few leaves floating inconspicuously at the lake's surface. There was a water lily flower on top of one of the leaves.

At first, it didn't pick my attention, but when I saw it moving towards my direction without an ounce of wind, it made me weary. 

My enhanced eyes started to pick minute movement in the leaf's base, and I soon began to feel a minute heat source. "Huh, so they are a hybrid between animal and plant?"

What mattered now was how to avoid it, or even capture it without causing a ruckus. 

I submerged and then looked for its roots, only finding some tail-like tentacles. "Can't you bunch of monsters decide what you are? Why does it resemble a jellyfish now?"

I called for the fighters and heavy unit but kept the scout near the cave rocks to notify us of any movement. I then went down and proceeded to gather all the collectors' biomass and DNA accumulated by them. 

After being ready, I sent a mental order for the units to engage the lily pad as silently as possible. 

They attacked at the same time from 3 areas, tearing the fragile leaf apart and pulling it down to the rocky area where we start devouring it in little time. 

It tried to fight back and then used its tentacles to protect itself. 

It managed to cause some injuries and pressed into the weakest part of the chitin shell from one mite, but all in all, it's three vs. one, so the match ended quickly with the flower being killed by us. 

After we kept biting at it tried to latch itself to one of my units, and even managed to introduce some of its tentacles through the eyes to touch some nerve tissue.

I then felt a mental attack trying to rob the unit from my control. 

* "Hey! No touching!"

It seems that Norn felt that too because she jumped like crazy. 

* "KAAI, do something! Kill that thing!!" 

"You attacked my brood, molest my Queen, and try to hurt me, Huh?! Do you think I will allow it!?"

My eyes started burning purple for a fraction of a second, and I launched a psychic attack that burned its nerve system entirely in a mere second. 

"Trying to turn my brood against me!! Disrespectful bastard!! That's not gonna happen!" 

The creature started to tremble and shake violently while my attack kept consuming its very soul. Then, just like that, it dropped dead. There was nothing more to burn.

"Fuck!!" I overdid it again. I can't explode like that. What did happen?

"Norn?! Did you just triggered me to attack the flower?!"

* "Yes? I was desperate, ok?!" 

"That was very weird. And you called by my name again. You called me Kai. Is that my real name?"

* "It's the name that keeps appearing on your memories…"

I calmed myself and check my units; they are fine. I eat the rest of the creature while pondering about that name. 

"We have to talk, Norn. My mind is not your playfield to do as you please. I want you to-"

Just then, I noticed some vibrations and noises on the surface of the lake. The scout sends an alert shortly after too.

"We have company." 

The surface of the lake began to get full of different plants and creatures floating, converging near the point where we attacked the lily pad. "So it did not go unnoticed, uh?"

Small krill-like creatures were being released from the different plants, converging and morphing into new aquatic plants with animal features. 

"Damned corruption, they can get the best from both worlds." 

- "We have to retreat. We need to get out of this area. There are more creatures than we can take care of."

As we swam to the cave, I picked some more readings from the bottom of the lake; a couple of huge fish-like animals appear. One was similar to a shark with more fins, and the other is a weird octopus with a shell skull; it looked quite similar to the one the worms were eating, just bigger. 

When we reached the cave's entrance, I noticed that unlike the other creature, the octopus focused on us and started chasing my units. 

We got into the cave, but the creature entered behind us and managed to devour the scout and a fighter. It then moved its tentacles further ahead and caught both me and the other fighter.

I slash at it with my maw and pincers, but its skin is rubber-like, protecting it from most of the damage. 

The tentacles caught my claw and started pulling and crushing it with utmost strength. As it devoured the fighter, it then focused on me. It began to move me closer to its mouth, little by little. "FUCK!"

With limited options, I activated the spores, creating a cloud of poisonous and toxic aura around me while consuming energy. But this fucker skin is making the poison damage null.

 "AGHH!! Let me go!" My Hp keeps descending. 18, 16, 13, 8… 

I was desperate, and the beast did not release me. I summoned more fighters that got entangled in close combat, briefly distracting it. 

Just as the creature had me near his face, it opened its mouth, and I quickly launched a couple of bombs, dropping them inside its mouth. 

It ate the bombs and then.

* Boom! BOOM!

It started screaming in pain and confusion, blood pouring out of its damaged mouth, dirtying the waters with acid, poison, and blood. 

I used that distraction to get free and swam quickly into the cave's tunnels. It roared as I escaped.

I sent a first and then a second wave of fighter to stall the creature while I desperately dug with my split maw and half-broken claws, destroying the tunnel and causing a cave-in that blocked the corridor. 

* Vrrooaoaaaammm!!!! 

Rocks keep falling for more than 20 seconds, and finally, I dropped myself on the ground.

Once I was more or less ok, I was about to leave, but the tunnel started vibrating. I opened and closed my claws, preparing myself for the worst.

When another vibration happened, I saw a tentacle moving towards me and almost capturing me again. 

The fucking octopus was trying to open a path. 

"Norn, Darwin!! What can we do to stop it?! It almost killed me back there."

- "Call back the transport with the worms!! I'll help you here."

I summoned more fighters, depleting my reserves, and let Darwin control them to slow the beast.

"Understood!!"

I called the transporter with the worms, and after swimming back a few tunnels, the link reactivated. 

As I got near it, I injected some biomass, activating the deadly load inside it. "C'mon! Now we go back, and you do your thing!"

The worms started to multiply, and when we reach the caved-in corridor, I pushed the transported to let the tentacle grab it. The beast did not doubt and moved it towards the other side of the fallen rocks. 

I concentrated and gave a psychic order to the transporter to start releasing as much of the newly born worms as it could, effectively creating a barrier of red goo that managed to stop the creature's advances, at least for now.

I went close to the mass of red blood worms and managed to catch a small and half-devoured piece of a tentacle, still moving and trying to grab some food.

I look at it and then eat it without further hesitation. "I hope this is worth something good, Norn!"

With that biomass, I created another new transport and ordered it to catch a few more worms and seal them into a semi-sleep by depriving them of food. 

As my units were devoured, the transporter managed to stop the creature's advance with the red worms acid goo. At least, it stopped advancing for now.

I felt shame, anger, and yet, some satisfaction from the gains of DNA. 

Those might not seem huge gains, but in the long run, they were the game changers, the keys to new strands of units, new and better biomorphs, and endless possibilities. 

I swam with the only two units left, a transporter filled with air and one with the worm specimens, back to the cave. 

It was a lonely and silent trip through the labyrinth of darkness until we arrived at the cave 10 minutes after. 

There, I found the transporters in a lethargic state, so I hurried to link my mind with them again and create what Norn called a Synapse. It was a telepathic link that allows me to control the units and sent them orders while receiving inputs from them. 

It could be tiring, but it allowed me to coordinate with them to unbelievable levels of precision. 

Once that was done, it felt like some limbs got reattached to my body. It was quite a weird sensation, like missing something you didn't know you were lacking.
 
But, as Norn said, these units were more similar to cells or organs than to individuals with their own minds. 

As I gave it a thought, philosophical and inhuman concepts of what was life, freedom, free will, or desires opened here; but I was not going to start diving in such obtuse concepts.

I entered the cave and fell on a piece of ground, thinking out loud my worries.  

"I need them, and there is little more to think. The Tyranids' sole purpose is to follow the Queen's command. And as I am currently living in her body, my will. 

Yet this body cannot even be considered female, nor male, those are human concepts. It's more like a DNA splicing lab or a nightmare fuel factory?"

- "My Queen, he's lost with this weird rambling again… Yes, I did try to shut him off and on again. I also asked him to get food. It's not working."

"Because, if I do leave this body, would part of my mind be kept here? Could Norn, start pumping clones of myself? Do Tyranids even have souls?"

* "Aghhhh, he doesn't shut up! Darwin, do something! I want food." 

"Could I read somebody's memories and learn about their life's experiences? Would that mean I could replicate their soul too?" 

- "Host?"

"Uh? What is it, Darwin?"

- "Queen Norn told me that the next evolution would be available in a few hours. You shall prepare the cave defenses." 

"What?! Ah, yes, the level up! Ok, let's do it!"

Cody "Codon Ten" Pendragon Tennyson

Known Mutations/Abilities and Training:
- 'Unbreakable Bones': A mutation of the LRP5 gene that gives Codon bone density 8 times that of a regular human. He can fall from a tall building or get hit by a car without breaking bones.

-RhNull Blood Type: A rare blood type that allows him to donate blood to any human, as well as certain aliens. One of Codon's mutations not granted by the Omnimatrix.

-Photographic Memory with Perfect Recall Detail: Detailed to the point of being capable of drawing a cityscape with microscopic details after a single overhead viewing. Can remember every moment of his life to minuscule detail.  Not granted by the omnitrix.

-Myostatin Inactivity: A MSTN Gene Mutation reducing the myostatin protein, which regulates muscle growth. This allows his muscles to grow twice as much as others his age. Developed a lean 4-pack 2 weeks after obtaining.

-Darwin's Tubercule: Affects his physical earlobe in appearance slightly. Is better at sensing voice tonality and high-frequency sounds, as well as being able to identify particular sounds in noisy places.

-Short Sleep: After reading that part of Batman's training was making it so he only needed two to three hours of sleep, Cody discovered this was an actual training that worked in real life. Works by reprogramming the brain to immediately go into REM sleep as soon as you lose consciousness. Is called the Uberman Sleep Schedule.

-Super Sprint: ACTN3 Gene variant found most commonly in West Africa. Muscles can operate at a higher flexing rate, allowing him to run his arms and muscles faster.

-Super Lungs/ "Super Athlete Gene": EPAS1 specific to Tibetans. Living around 11000 feet above sea level, Tibetans have evolved a specific gene allowing them to survive with ~40% less oxygen without trouble breathing- otherwise they'd die from heart and brain diseases relating to oxygen deficiency. This allows them to be involved in much more strenuous activity. Codon notes that this power would have been completely impossible for him as he has no Tibetan ancestry.

-Endurance: Erythoporetin Receptor gene mutation allows the blood to carry 50% more oxygen.

-Super Flexibility/Morfan Syndrome: Mutation in the Fibrillan-1 protein, affecting the body's connective tissue. Tendons and ligaments are incredibly elastic, allowing Codon to dislocate his arms and legs with ease as well as turning his torso 180 degrees. Good for dodging. Good for stealth missions, as he can stuff himself into a box or locker. The Omnitrix negates any possible issues with the heart, skeleton, and nervous system.

-Arsenic Immunity: Another area-specific gene, the 6000+ population of San Antonio de los Cobres, Argentina, has grown highly resistant to the naturally-occuring arsenic in their water supply, being able to consume nearly 80 times the normal lethal dose of arsenic(20-180 mg). Some residents are known to consume large amounts of the poisonous element for fun, without so much as a stomachache. 

-Tumo Meditation Technique: Can control his body temperature(cold insensitivity) and temporarily reduce the oxygen required. Can slip into a small coma to preserve energy. Can reduce his metabolism by 64%.( The body's metabolism only slows by 10-15% when sleeping.)

-Echolocation Training: Codon has been trained to rely on sound in fighting even in his less hearing-savvy forms. Blindfold fighting and tongue-clicking galore.

-Super Vision: Vison is 20 times better than the average person's, allowing him to see in high detail up to a mile away.


- Mixed Martial Arts- Fast-forming muscle allowed Codon to quickly learn several martial arts, which he combines with his Morfan Flexibility in a fighting technique he calls Stretch Kwon Do.
      Example: Turning his torso 180 degrees, placing his hands on the ground, and twisting his legs in a fast moving kick that sends enemies flying. 

- Technopath- Utilizing the Technopath gene, while he is not able to make machinery fly and reform, he has trained himself to be able to communicate with and control technology around him. Examples include turning high-powered mechs on and off and hacking into computers relatively easily, as he can simply learn passwords. Is harder with unencountered or higher-leveled tech.

Shockproof- Utilizing a modified form of Slavisa Pajkic's 'Battery Man' mutation, Codon is capable of withstanding 30000 volts of electricity. By comparison, most humans would be severely injured by 50 volts. This allows him to surprise electricity-based alien criminals. Unlike Battery Man, he is not capable of holding it in his body.

High Disease Resistance- A compilation of several genes, giving him nigh-immunity to many diseases. Note that this is not perfect, as Cody still gets a cold in the 2006 summer like Ben did, although he did leave money for the ice cream and get some for Gwen and Max.

Omnimatrix
Codon's Omnimatrix is different from the canon matrix. The main difference is that the DNA Donor is simply the primary DNA Azmuth collected to get the project going. Azmuth, under advice from Nigredo(Albedo's sister in this AU), programmed his mosquito-scanner-bots to examine traits from the entirety of the species (they are much smaller in this timeline). This goes into new function of transforming the user into the Prime of the species by utilizing gene-replication and gene-splicing technology invented by Albedo and Nigredo. This is the reason for Codon having so many mutations, as these are naturally occuring mutations that prove advantageous to his survival. The genes mixed are of the physical state, not the mental. Unfortunately, the Omnimatrix can only utilize already existing genes, so no one is going to be using Codon's blood as a cure for cancer anythime soon. The Omnimatrix's energy can negate the negative consequences of the genes utilized if their are any.
Due to his high curiosity, he does fiddle with the Omnimatrix like Ben. When he unlocks the Master Control, he uses his brain to discover new functions with the Voice Command. Many of these new functions were implemented by the genius duo of Albedo and Nigredo.
Omnipendium- Coined by Codon, this is a function allowing the Wielder to learn about the various species, planets, and cultures of the forms unlocked. It's essentially an Ambassador's Library.
Situational Activation- This is a function that automatically transforms him based on situational danger. This is similar to canon, except he does not need to activate the Matrix.

So, the Omnitrix in this story is meant to be different from canon. Here's a small list of the powerups.

Prime Specimen/ Ambassador Survival Protocol- Azmuth originally created the Omnitrix so the wielder would be able to bring peace through the knowledge of the different species' behavior and instincts. A sort of Ultimate Ambassador. The problem? Extremist groups have been known to kill Ambassadors. The Ambassador need something to increase their chances of survival, even if they don't fight.
This works with special gene-replication and gene-splicing technology made by Albedo and [REDACTED]. Why only change DNA when transformed? This alters the DNA of both the user's original form and transformations to add advantageous genes and rare mutations, allowing them to be far less than helpless even when they aren't a trained fighter. The User's true form shall be alterred over time, not instantaneously - that would be dangerous. Only pre-existing genes will register as able to be added. The Omnitrix will not be able to create new genetics(Mechrobe is an anomaly made by the Ultimatrix's somewhat buggy nature and the adaptation abilities of the chips). Azmuth has a special version of the mosquito-drones - redesigned by [REDACTED] - orbitting invisibly near each planet to scan the DNA of the species for new mutated genetics, allowing the DNA to be updated(Possible cheat: time travel to the future with mosquito-drone, scan the species, then bring it back. Have kids and jumpstart your species evolution a bit.)
Example:
    Tetramand Rockskin- Similar to the scales of a shark, punching a Rockskinner the wrong way will cut into even a fellow Tetramand's skin. Slightly incresed durability.
     Tayden Bones - A Tetramand's bones are twice as durable as before.

Omnipendium - A feature unlocked by the first Master Control activation. Term coined by Cody. Teaches the history, biology, and culture of the species and their planet. Will make it a bit easier to figure out abilities.

Situational Activation - The Omnitrix will activate on its own to give the user the form most suited to handle a situation as to survive. Similar to canon, but without pushing the button.

General ideas on a fanfic I want to make. Would love feedback and ideas.

Braxden's breath stopped, and his thoughts vanished. Pressing his body against the tree roots, he prayed for the best. The shorter girl wrapped a tight hand around the small animal's snout. Angling her head, the taller girl glared at the pirates. The tall girl's fingers stretched and recoiled across Braxden's stomach. He thought about moving her hand away, but decided not to. She lengthened her neck further out, pressing deeper into his stomach.
Two pirates appeared. With flickering, semitransparent bodies they stepped into the path. While they appeared like normal soldiers, their clothes were tattered and they actually held laser rifles in their hands. A small metallic orb blinked from inside their chests.
Braxden considered Cindy, the artificial intelligence simulation system on the farm. She could only go about two hundred yards away from her home base. Somehow that orb allowed the pirate holograms a way to explore the world like a normal human would.
"I saw something over this way," one of the pirates growled.
"We don't need the boy. We need clues to find the girls. They are the ones he wants," the other said.
The tall girl's head twisted around. Noticing her hand, she yanked it toward her chest. Braxden lifted his eyebrows and forced a smile.
"I'm not going back to the Captain without makin' sure he's dead."
"He'll be dead soon enough. The crops are burned and this moon is not on any system's charts."
"I'd rather have his head in a sling or at least an ear, something to show the Cap'n."
The thought of them cutting off his perfect ears sent shockwaves through Braxden. He gasped. The tall girl rotated her head around toward him and gave him the stink eye.
"What was that?" the first pirate asked.
"I didn't hear anything."
"It came from over there by that tree."
Heart blasting against his chest, he searched the nearby woods for a place he thought they could run. By the time Braxden turned back around, the tall girl had pulled off a tiny piece of bark. She held it at chest level. With a flick of her fingers, she thumped it into the woods. It bounced off a few leaves and settled.
"Over there," the second pirate said.
The pirates sped off into the woods.
Once they were out of earshot, the tall girl crawled over Braxden. "Nice going, noodle head." Placing a firm hand against his shoulder, she pushed him into the roots. "C'mon Bria, let's go."
"But—"
"We don't need boys, especially ones that are idiots."
"Hey, I'm not an idiot," Braxden said in the loudest whisper possible. "They were just talking about cutting off my ears. I happen to like my ears."
"I'd cut one off and give it to the pirates if I thought it'd make them go away."
Everything inside Braxden stopped, and he placed his hands over his ears. She spun around with a smirk and shook her head.
The short girl and the animal glanced at him as the taller girl led them away. His mind whirled. He didn't have a home to go back to, and his uncle was dead. He wasn't even sure he could make it to Ms. Sloan's before the pirates found him. The tall girl wanted to kill him, but she hadn't thus far. Sooner or later, however, he might really lose an ear or a bit of his nose or something.
He sighed away the last of his pride. These two girls and their pet were his only hope.
After a long blink, he set off to find the girls.
In less than five minutes, he reached them. 
The shorter one looked back and grinned. "Look, your best friend is back."
The taller one glanced back at him and rolled her eyes. "What do you want, boy? I'm still okay with cutting off your ears, ya know."
He grabbed his ears again. "Look, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. You stole from my family, and you think I hate you or something. But my Uncle Duncan always said to forgive and forget. So no worries—none at all."
The tall girl didn't even look at him. She glanced at the other girl and snickered. "That's because his farm is on fire."

"Yeesh, touchy."
The shorter girl slowed her pace and drifted back beside him. "I'm Bria," she said. "And that's Sydney. And this is Nova." She rubbed the head of the four-tailed animal.
"Can I pet her?"
"Sure, I think she'll be okay now that you aren't strangling me."
Warmth spread over Braxden's neck and shoulders. He dropped his head. "Sorry about that."
Bria shrugged. "Eh, I've had worse."
"So Nova's a Yubbi weasel, right?" He reached out with his right hand and gently stroked Nova on the head.
"Yep. I found her on my planet before I joined up with the Wasure."
He winced as the word entered his brain. "The Wha-sue-ray?"
"It means forgotten." She leaned in. "'Cause last I checked, no one is looking for us."
"Where are your parents?"
"Taken by local raiders on my planet almost three years ago."
"What about her?" Braxden gestured toward Sydney.
Expression darkening, Bria shook her head.
His gaze fell on Sydney who was about his same height. He had thought he was the only one who was alone, but she was too. With a twist of Sydney's head, waves of frustration pounded into him from her one white eye. After glaring at Bria for a second, she rolled her eyes and turned away.
Braxden winced but placed his attention on Bria's friendly face. "Sydney must have lived on one of the new colonies before the space navy. I heard they had it the worst during the Universal War. Entire continents were wiped out. So she's a refugee, one of the lost children."
Bria nodded. "Yeah… something like that."
"By the way what were those space pirate things?"
"You mean the humans? They're space pirates."
"No, I mean the bluish ones that look like holograms."
"Oh, the holobots?"
"Holobots?" His eyebrows rose.
"Yeah, we just call them that because they are really just robots in holographic form. They can still hurt you, though."
The trees stopped, and the river bubbled across their path. It meandered slowly, sparkling in the midmorning sun, a huge difference from the raging waters by his house. The walls of the canyon stood in the distance with large yellow and red stone sparkling with cracks of glowing ore. Neverworld glowed pale blue in the pale sky. A few clouds drifted over the distant planet, barely visible from Rison.
A cargo ship sat on the far side of the river. It was shaped like a dune bug with two long metal appendages sticking out the front and folded wings on its side. Around the base, four girls carried large black containers from somewhere. With a shake of his head, Braxden realized they'd been stealing from all over Rison.
Stomping right up to the river's edge, Sydney continued into the water. She waded across without pause or hesitation as though the river was nothing more than blue wind.
"Ugh, how does she do that?" Bria asked no one in particular. "Up you go, Nova." She lifted the weasel to her shoulders and let it rest its paws on her head while she fumbled across.
Braxden waded in last but stayed close to Bria. As the cool water splashed against his hot skin, he cupped a few handfuls and swallowed the salty liquid down. After a minute or so, Braxden and Bria emerged on the other side, their pants soaked.
Four girls near the ship stopped and stared. As they held their loads, Braxden eyed the dozens of weapons on their waists, backs, and legs. Skin itching under the weight of their gaze, he turned his eyes toward the ground. Every few seconds, he'd glance in their direction, but he kept his gaze on Bria. With the skin along his neck and shoulders prickling, he took deep breaths to stay calm. The pirates were after these girls, and he had no idea why. However, they had to be special if the Maddox pirate said that he was searching for them.
A shadowy figure walked across the top of the ship and stole Braxden's gaze. The body appeared human, but the Orange Sun glinted off the ship into his eyes. Two objects folded out from the figure's back. Each stretched into what appeared to be two five-foot-wide wings that had an L shape.
The figure flashed away. Braxden searched the sky, but the figure whizzed around and disappeared. As darkness stretched over his face, something slammed into the ground in front of him. Braxden froze. His stomach knotted as the figure rose to its full height.
Swallowing hard, his spine curled into itself. Sydney had her knives. He wasn't sure what this person would have.
His gaze found the figure's eyes in the silhouette of the sun. The figure was not a girl like Sydney, at least not Sydney's age. This was a woman, at least twenty years old and just tall enough to stand over him. For some reason, his mashed brain told him she was at least ten times that height.
She had long, dark hair that had bright green, glowing stripes in it. It could be from DNA splicing or just some kind of weird effect. Her skin was pale, and he recognized her features from people living in the Asia realm of Earth or at least one of the Japanese-based planets in the Ginga system. Her monolids lifted and two dark, almost black eyes peered at him.
She levitated from her position. As she rose, her green and yellow wings shone. Each metal wing was made of dozens of sharp geometric shapes and fitted into a compartment that jutted out from some kind of jetpack. The jetpack was on the small side with two large jets aiming down and two smaller ones on rotators that pointed to the side. The huge metallic contraption was locked over her butt with five belts, and a distortion wave wiggled around the back of her thighs. Whatever technology she was using to fly wasn't far from his airboard.
He wasn't sure where the woman had found the airpack. He had never seen any made quite like it, and it was a bit more advanced that the ones he'd seen before.
The woman neared, but lingered four feet off the ground. Sydney sighed and glanced up at her.
After five seconds of silence, the woman asked, "Who is this?"
Sydney waved a defiant hand. "Mitsuko, this boy followed us."
Braxden glared at Sydney for a second as he etched the name into his mind—Mit-sue-ko.
Bria shook her head at Sydney and gestured toward him. "His name is Braxden."
Mitsuko narrowed her eyes. "I don't remember telling you to bring back any survivors. I just asked you to see how close the pirates were."
"They're still by the farm. Two tried to follow us but—" Sydney tucked her lips into her mouth.
"But what, Syd?"
Bria scowled at Sydney. "Braxden saved us."
Sydney shook her head. "He alerted us that we were being tracked."
Mitsuko circled Braxden, the mechanics of her airpack shifting and adjusting as she turned. "I thought you didn't like boys, Syd."
He craned his head to watch Mitsuko.
"I don't," Sydney barked.
"Yet, you bring one back with you. You know they're like dogs. If you feed one, then they keep coming back."
"So, can we keep him?" Bria asked with her eyes wide.
Mitsuko descended to the ground. Her wings collapsed into sheets and folded neatly into the airpack. With a glare, she spun around and walked to the ship. "No, he stays here." She turned toward the other girls. "Wasure, come. It's time to leave this rotten moon before we rot with it."
"Hey!" Braxden yelled. "Don't I get a say?"
Turning around, Mitsuko raised an eyebrow. "Oh? It speaks."
"Yeah, I can talk. Don't I get to say something, especially since you guys—er, girls—ladies have been stealing from my farm."
As her eyes widened, a laugh sprang from Mitsuko's throat. "I'll steal from whomever I like. The concept of stealing is that I don't owe you a favor. Now, if you want to take your supplies back, you're welcome to try."
His gaze fell on the four girls bringing other possible stolen items to the ship. Immediately, the girl in the front lowered a container. Reaching behind her, the girl's hand gripped something. As the sound of metal sliding against metal scratched across his ears, a blade rose above the girl. The weapon was long, at least four feet and about eighteen inches wide. The razor sharp edge glowed in the midday sun. With a grimace, the girl pointed the weapon at him.
Stomach twisting, Braxden put his hands into the air and took a few steps back. "You know, I always liked this moon."
Cracking a grin, Mitsuko turned away and nodded toward the ship. The razor girl put up her weapon as the other three girls behind her giggled. She picked up her container and continued loading the ship.
Smirking happily, Sydney turned around and followed Mitsuko. He sighed and took a step backward.
After walking over, Bria patted him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, Braxden. I hope you don't starve."
"I'll try my best." His best sarcastic grin spread over his lips.
He rubbed Nova across the head and under the chin. The other four girls disappeared up the ship's loading ramp.
As the engines of the ship roared to life, Braxden stood and watched. His insides burned, but there was nothing to say. There was no way he could fight his way onto a ship with sword fighting super-girls.
After everyone had boarded, Mitsuko grabbed the hydraulic rod to enter the ship. A red laser blast flashed over the grassy area. It whizzed a few inches from his shoulder, the heat leaving a soft burn on his skin. An area near the hydraulic rod exploded. As the boom echoed through the clearing, Mitsuko's body flew back, hit the loading ramp, and tumbled away from the ship.

Peter Pan meets Wonder Woman in an adventurous mix of fantasy and science fiction.

Lonely on a moon at the end of the galaxy, Braxden Pan wanted a few friends and a little adventure. However, the last six months of his life consisted of high pitched giggles, visions of winged girls, and mysterious crop circles in the corn field. With bushels of food and power cells disappearing from the farm, his family is desperate for an answer.
When an outlaw finds his moon and kills his uncle, Braxden remembers one major rule: “Live. You can fight back if you live.” After crawling through an escape tunnel, three robots chase him across the burning fields. When he finds safety, a girl appears form the darkness. Her face is taught with anger, her body movements are fluid, and her eyes are two different colors, one bright and green like the grass on a sunny day and the second cold and white like ice. Before he can ask for help, she kicks him across his face, knocking him out cold.
Braxden is taken to Neverworld where being a boy is a crime. Flying girls, with martial arts skills and the ability to control the elements, sentence him to death. To make things worse, the outlaw who killed his uncle finds the “Lost Girls” on the planet and promises to eliminate every last one of them. Caught in a tangle of misplaced hate and murderous intent, Braxden has to befriend two-hundred, boy-hating girls; clash against four hundred battle-ready skeletons; and stop the most notorious outlaw in the galaxy from killing all of them.

It is the year 2072 and science has officially ran out of hand. With rapid animal and human experimentation, within the years of 2042 and 2047, they profected Android soldiers and workers. Many cities were introduced to these workers and many police forces began to excel. 

Military men were replaced with androids and were able to retire. However the effects of endless war had set in so the government made sure that veterans and their families were well taken care of. Other fields were replaced to or had specific positions filled. Doctors gained android assistance while construction workers were replaced in total.

In the years after the perfection and distribution, to most countries that is, of androids, science went further. They stated experimenting with human and animal DNA to create hybrids. From 2050-2060, they worked tirelessly to raise successful hybrids. The first was a feline hybrid, and rapidly other animals were successful. After all species were successfully crossed, scientists bred these hybrids and cross bred different hybrid breeds. 

By the year 2068, science had turned almost all of humanity into hybrids. Then, they evolved into their final stages. Hybrids discovered that they could fully transform into their animal and human forms. The governments took full advantage thoughout the world of this new development. 

The androids were becoming independent and aware of their humanity and were beginning to rebel. All out World War 3 was finally upon the world and the plan was to use the hybrids as military now. Specific species were chosen for roles in the countries participating. Countries like Ireland stayed neutral and let their humans and hybrids live in peace. In the year 2069, 'monsters' were discovered as hybrids cross bred. It was mandatory for all hybrids to come into the multiple labs where this problem was resolved by an injection. This injection recoded a part of species DNA that simulated attraction and love interests found in human instinct. It made it to where only one species could be attracted to the other; it recoded the hybrids with animal attraction instinct instead. 

Now, with districts placed in all states of all countries, the year 2072 brings about an oddball development. In the district, Arkansas State District number 06 (Code AD06S), located in the United States, a young family of canines are about to experience the biggest shock of their lives.

A young girl finds herself in trouble when all wolf hybrids are called upon. What's worse, she is the only wolf in her district, marking her in documents as extremely important. A double y chromosome in males was a birth defect. Normal in males is a one y and one x while a female is double x's.
In mamals the y chromosome contains a gene, sry, that triggers embryonic developement as a male. Humans and other mammals contain other genes needed for normal sperm production.
He had a mixture of a venus flytrap plant and calf genes . Slowly mixing the newly created dna's of these to the bowl of Victors  he watched intently.
This is where the vampire Dna usually destroyed the human Dna.
To the doctors amazement instead, the mixture of animal and plant genes latched onto the vampire Dna and began to grow chains of new Dna. He couldn't believe his eyes. A cure for vampirism! Not just a temporay innoculation!
Was it possible? After all this time? The proof was right in front of his eyes! He had done it ! He had found a cure for the undead genome to make it normal human Dna once again!
He would have to make a lot more of course and test it to be sure , Rick and Victor would be glad to drag a fien here to try it out on . The doctor could barely contain his excitement and ran to the dining room where Sara was watching Jason eat lunch.

"No! No you didn't!" Overjoyed she jumped up and danced a jig with the doctor . A few minutes later exausted and filled with happiness she sat in a peaceful mood that she had once wondered would she ever feel again.
Later that evening the four of them after the twins had been told, had the best evening of celebrations Sara could ever remember having before in her entire life. She and Winnmire had a bottle of champaign  the doctor had stored away just in case he explained.
 The twins had their celebrations inside their own mental realm.
Good times, a calm before the storm. As they took turns dancing with Sara, the laughter filled the house for the first time in a long time. It all felt grand. Before the storm came anyway.

Three weeks later Winnmire had a blood bag from a calf  with a healthy dose of his new accidently found antidote ready to experiment on an unknown fien of the twins choosing. Since he didn't know how much it would take to turn a vamps Dna he had maybe went a little over board but with Matteo back in the area training up a large horde of his fellow ghouls there was no time for long drawn out experiments . But all and all he felt he had made a good guess on the quantity of the drug.
Rick and Victor had become so use to their shared mental realm it was much more comfortable than the outer realm and they could communicate with other , fight with weapons everything in unison like now as they had the mind of a newly turned vampire in tow bringing him to the farm,. A guinea pire. And at the same time sat with Sara and the doctor at the table engaging in conversation .
Sara was excited about the prospects of seeing an undead turned alive but had reservations. The doctor apprehensive with his thoughts centered on the antidote and the quantity of the drug.
"Someones walking across the field from the Mire mountian direction!" Sara said as she had gotten up and was looking out the window at the surrounding area .
"Thats our subject Rick answered."
The tall slim man who looked no more than nineteen or twenty to her made her heart feel constricted like her throat at his youth." He isn't much more than a kid."
The young fien entered the room deep in the trance put upon him by the twins and stopped in front of the doctors chair.
Winnmire handed the vamp the plastic ball of blood with the antidote , taking it and extending his fangs the young fein sucked the plastic ball dry and suddenly fell flat on the floor as if he had fainted or died.
The four of them sat too stunned to move for a second or two then they all jumped up at once to hover over the guenia fein.
The doctor checked his pulse and sighed with relief " Well didn't kill him he still has a good pulse." He went on to examine all the other vitals , blood pressure  heart rate,. breathing.
"Seems fine , lets give it an hour and see what the antidote is doing."
An hour went by with the young vamp unmoving . The doctor drew four large vials of blood and took them to the lab.
Over an hour later he returned." I checked and rechecked to be sure, It looks like fifty percent of his Dna is returning to normal and going by this I'd say within twenty four hours he should be back to normal. Completely human."
Sara felt relief flood through her that the man was still alive and healing.
Victor picked up the former bloodsucker and carried him out to an old silo they had turned into a temporary holding cell complete with a bed ,drinking water and commode, locking the door he returned to the house. " I'll keep an eye on him David let me know when you want to check on him as well and I'll go out with you."
Twice an hour they checked on the unconscious man who never budged from where they put him on the bed.
The next morning Sara went out to the silo thinking she had heard someone shouting " Hey!"
Looking through the narrow observation slats cut into the metal she saw the young fien sitting up looking from the bed at her .
" I am about to starve . Do you have anything to eat, please?"
" I'll get David and the twins ... she replied gently...Hang on a bit longer."

 Winnmire looked at the large round scared eyes of the young man..." How do you feel?"
"Like I could eat one of those cows fur an all."
Pleased the doctor smiled." No craving for blood?"
"No doctor . Ricks voice came from behind him as the twins joined them...He has no trace left of the frequency of undead fiens."
They unlocked the door and lead the young man back to the house where the smell of bacon and eggs filled the air with an aroma that made Winnmire  decide to join their new friend in his first meal being human again.
"Jimmy James ...he answered Sara ..my father lives over next to the lake ."
"How long ago were you turned..she continued..how much do you remember about ..uh..what you have been through?"
Jimmy visibly shuddered " All of it."
After Jimmy had finished eating  Winnmire examined him and drew some tubes of blood" I 'll have a look at these samples and if they look good , I'll take you to your family Jimmy. No need to keep you and no need for your people to worry."

The test had came back exellent and Jimmy had been returned home and it was time to discuss the next steps in the coming war with Matteo.
"Its obvious that Victor and I won't be able to take the antidote until we defeat Matteo."Rick said looking down at his hands.
"What do you three think about me turning long enough to help you in the fight?...Winnmire asked watching Sara's face as her eyes dropped to the table but said nothing..Would that not be best?"
"No Doctor , Too many things could go wrong. Victor and I both think it best you stay human. It would be better all way around." Rick said in a quiet level tone.
 Winnmire nodded.."Sara , you are going to have to kill Matteo when he comes for you in the basement lab. He won't trust any of the others with you because he feels you are the only hope for the new machine. I'll be busy with the mechinisms and traps we have set up and the twins will be covered up with ghouls so Matteo can get into the house."
 Sara nodded yes.." I don't see why not David. or at least give it my best shot." Gamely spoken.
" It's settled then..Victor spoke up..Nothing left but practice our defence and offensive strategy."
Over the next few days they did just that , nothing but plan and practice various defence and offence maneuvers  over and over again until they could do them almost in their sleep.
