"I know right. It's rather insulting for Helena for you all to not have confidence in her work." Tayaw says. 
Helena, hearing Tayaw's comment, almost feels insulted again, misinterpreting Tayaw's compliment for sarcasm. 
"I don't need you feeling sorry?.." Helena says, annoyed. 
"Psh. I'm not feeling sorry, you don't need it. Your book is a refreshing read. Yours and Grimmauld's books are the only interesting reads this year." Tayaw shrugs.
 "Did you really read it?" Helena asks, her annoyance waned.
 "Yeah. Exploring human nature. Why people do what they do when they are forced in a situation where they are the closest to their primal instincts. I especially liked the part where that one guy who hallucinated after being stung by that poisonous plant. Your book explores human psychology and experience too." Tayaw says. 
"T-thanks..." Helena is overwhelmed with flattery in contrast to her expectation.  
"Hm. We need more books like yours. Not those romance crap. They're disease to society. It's great that you guys are adapting her novel to film." Tayaw says casually but with disdain.
 Claire and Helena in contrast to Tayaw's casual remark, are taken aback by Tayaw's surprisingly harsh assessment for the genre. Gary and Xiao Song, despite knowing about Tayaw's lack of love for romance stories, are still surprised by the disdain.  
"Hm? Why d'you hate romance books? Not only books, I've seen your interview, and it looks like you don't like romance movies either." Claire quickly asks, subtly defending her love for the genre.
 "I just don't like how unrealistic they are. They make ladies have unreasonable expectations, and they get depressed when their expectations aren't met. They make men act unrealistically to meet the ladies' expectations. When they no longer can keep up with the charade, they feel inadequate and depressed that they can't make their women happy." Tayaw shrugs.
 "Uhuh… really?" Claire asks while side-eyeing Gary and Xiao Song. To her surprise, the two men nod.  
"Claire. Remind me again why your mom and I divorced?" Gary asks suddenly. 
"She said that you don't love each other anymore." Claire says. 
Claire has no problem exposing the topic to Tayaw and others as it was a huge deal in show business at the time and she got used to other people talking about it.
 "Mm. I took care of you your mom very well as much as I could when we were married. But I guess being there isn't just enough. In fact, I didn't want a divorce." Gary says. 
"This is the first time you're telling me this? But… If you didn't want it, why?" Claire asks.  
"There is a bit of truth in what she said, though. 'We don't love each other anymore'. She didn't love me anymore but where she's wrong though is that I still love her. She just didn't feel it." Gary says.
 "But, why didn't you fight for it?" Claire asks. 
"It wasn't worth it. I'd rather not be with a woman who doesn't love me as much as I love her. I was satisfied with her just being there while she wasn't satisfied by what I've shown. 
"Your mother, she said I should do this, she said I should do that, and the more I did them, the more she expected. I got exhausted and I didn't want to live the rest of my life with her like that. 
"I admit, I became selfish, so I told her that if she really loves me, she wouldn't have to make me go through hoops to prove what I feel." Gary says with a bit of a wince in his eyes. 
"Ooff." Claire hears Xiao Song interject. She looked at him and she saw him close his eyes and nods in sympathy.  
"We got divorced when you were 11? 12? How many divorces has your mom had since then? I realize now that it's more her fault than mine." Gary continues. 
Claire becomes somber at the story. 
"Anyway, it's in the past now. The reason why I spilled it out here is because I was triggered by Isaac's opinion. Wanna hear what your mom told me that I still remember?" Gary asks rhetorically.
 "'Gary, why can't you just show me what you show in your movies?' I knew the difference between fantasy and reality. My fault lies in forcing her to realize that I'm just not my film characters. That not any man in real life can be as romantic as what's in fantasy." Gary concludes.  
"It's so ingrained in your culture that I can't believe it." Tayaw gets back in the conversation.  
"I'm not married, but from what I've seen in my country, successful marriage and relationships are not a fairy tale. It's about two people, deciding to live life together, through suffering and in health, finding happiness together. But if one side, whether it's the man or the woman, cannot provide happiness to their partners after doing the best they can do, then there's a problem with that. I'm not saying that Romance entertainment is the only problem that causes 50% divorce rates here in America, but it contributes substantially to the culture that causes it." Tayaw says.  
"… I have to agree with Tayaw. Regarding marriage lives of Americans, at least. Us British are maybe as … Pragmatic as Teungebians. Still, we love a good romance film." Helena says. 
"So do Teungebians but we love action and sports movies more. We do have unrealistic movies about martial arts and combat sports, but at least it doesn't do nearly as much damage as romantic films in culture. Thank goodness for that." Tayaw chuckles.  
"I guess that's why gay couples are happier…" Xiao Song comments, which made Gary almost spit his coffee. 
"Hah! Good one!" Gary is amused. 
"True. There are not that many gay movies, are there? And the few that are out there, the gay community hate them for being caricatures or being unrealistic. Good for them." Tayaw chuckles.
 "Good for the gay people. Us lesbians couples are miserable." Helena jokes. This gives another round of laughter at the table. 
Despite the jokes of her companions that closed the subject, Claire is not laughing. Her father's words, Tayaw's exaggerated but probable take, and Xiao Song's silent agreement, gets her thinking deeply about the genre.
"Oh. By the way, are you considering casting anyone now?" Tayaw asks the two directors. 
"Oh. I'm a sure cast. I've studied the acting in your film and I think I can do it." Claire says confidently. 
Tayaw nods. Claire after all is not only a good actress, in the traditional acting sense, she is also the daughter of one of Hollywood's best directors. 
"Don't be so sure, dear. You're the number one on the list for now because I haven't seen others' take on your character yet." Gary chuckles. 
Claire's confident smile quickly crumbles at the comment. 
"Wow…" Tayaw meanwhile, cannot believe that Gary will not easily cast even his own daughter. 
"Come on dad. I get why you didn't cast me in any of your films before, but you've seen what I can do. You saw me practice!" Claire says, indignant. 
"Alright. Alright. I was just joking." Gary says. 
"Don't take him seriously. He just wants you to work for free." Xiao Song suddenly says. 
"What?! IS that true?" Claire cannot believe it. 
"Now. Why would you say that?" Gary is dumbfounded at Xiao Song's lie. 
"Heh. Payback for that game of pool." Xiao Song smugly smiles. Claire and Gary both sigh in relief.  
"About the casting. How'd you do it for September Ninth? You're the first one who made use of the acting style. How'd you even find the actors?" Gary asks. 
Xiao Song also has the same curiosity.
"I thought you saw my interview on TV? I explained it there." Tayaw replies. 
"Well. Comedic actors. Yeah. But I thought you were just messing around." Xiao Song asks.
"I wasn't. They're sketch comedy actors, to be exact." Tayaw says. 
"Huh… Why them?" Gary asks.
 "Because they are experienced performers and their acting requirements are not strict, as long as they can make the crowd laugh and immersed at the sketch." Tayaw starts. 
"At first, I actually wanted to hire regular people but they have no experience memorizing scripts and other actor stuff, so I had no time to train them." Tayaw says. 
"Regular people huh.. Why?" Xiao Song asks. 
"Because they have no habits that I do not prefer. But after consideration, I decided that sketch comedy actors are a better bet." Tayaw says. 
"What habits?" Claire asks, becoming self-conscious. 
"You know actors, they have that actor 'flair'. That actor 'stance'. I don't like it." Tayaw says. 
Claire listening to Tayaw's explanation is a bit offended especially because Tayaw seems unreasonable and is not clarifying more. 
"What flair? What stance?" She asks. 
"You know. The way they deliver their lines all dramatic and sh*t. The way they stand all with their back straight looking like they have sticks up their asses. Or, they stand in that stance, like they're gonna fight." Tayaw says. 
"PUhahahaha!" Gary bursts out in laughter. 
"Yeah! After studying your film, I think I know what you're talking about! Hahaha!" Xiao Song also loses it.  
"What are you guys talking about?" Helena asks, not following the conversation. This settles down Gary and Xiao Song. 
"It's like this." Tayaw begins, taking the attention of his new acquaintances. 
"Claire, you said you practiced and read on it, right?" Tayaw asks. 
"Yeah?" 
"Act out your favorite line in the book. In the style of 'September Ninth', if you will, please?" Tayaw orders.
 "Okay." Claire stands up from her chair, not minding the other people in the coffee shop. Being an actress, she already flushed out her shame long ago as long as it involves acting.  
"/I'm Sorry! This mess has been all my own fault. I was bringing to Ronny to somewhere that I shouldn't have. I brought him to that cave thinking: he must be feeling the same? I've bared all! Tenderness, affection, personal intercourse. I admit, it was entitlement on my part to expect what I wanted... It's not your fault, Ronny./" 
Claire delivers the line perfectly, had she been on a stage play. The clear articulation, the confident body language, they are very attractive to listen to and look at. Tayaw however shakes his head. While Tayaw is pleasantly surprised at the surprisingly grounded interpretation of the character from a traditional actress, it still wasn't enough for Tayaw.  
The part that Claire acted out is from a courtroom setting.  
 Claire's character falsely accused another character of sexual misconduct. Because of her character's weak mental state from the trauma of the Australian wild, she was convinced by her friends to sue Ronny, the male character, for his fortune. Ronny, being also traumatized adding to his indignation, is looking very vulnerable during the legal proceeding. His pitiful appearance in the court pulled out every single shred of guilt out of Claire's character, leading her to confess.  
The reason why Tayaw is not impressed is because he did not see enough guilt in Claire's display that her character should be feeling. She also did not address the male character properly. Claire also addressed more the audience, and did not spare some attention on an imaginary Ronny.  
Claire, after delivering her lines smoothly, smiles that she nailed it. She looks at Tayaw for feedback.
 "Was it…" Claire then notices Tayaw's unimpressed expression. "Not good, huh?" Claire says in confusion, her confidence quickly evaporating. 
Tayaw shakes his head. 
"It was good. For the conventional film. But if you want to act in the film you guys want, you have to take a different approach." Tayaw says.  
"How do I do that?" Claire asks. 
"A more… grounded emotional investment to your character." Tayaw tries to articulate. 
"Huh?" Claire's mind spins. 
"I don't have time to try and explain to you right now…" Tayaw says, to the disappointment of Claire, Gary and Xiao Song. 
"But, I can show you a bit of what I would have wanted. I wouldn't be showing you this, but now that I'm investing, let me help a bit with the acting." Tayaw says, which gets the actress and the two directors excited again.

Devastated with the fact that Hikaru has to transfer to Mikisoru High School, he tries to make the best of his situation. However, this in turn creates this sort of introverted life style since he has to start off fresh. Back at his old high school, he left behinds one who keeps him close to his heart. Though Hikaru leaves behind Shiro, he's determined to have him back into his loving arms no matter what.  At this new school Hikaru will meet the one that will guide him out of his anti-social life and eventually come out and make sure he feels accepted at this new school.

Bisexuality: the quality or characteristics of being sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender. It's a definition for people that feel romantically or sexual attracted to men and women.
In my country you would never heard of gay people; we just had trans people. And it was mostly men, they grew out their hair and act more womanly. And somehow it was normal, I got used to see them and live with it.
The thought of my family knowing that I like girls was a nightmare. My sisters are more open-minded but my mom, she's a different story.
When we're watching movies or series on tv and a homosexual scene comes up, she talks, bad talk. The awkwardness of listen to her comments about why people choose to do something different, and it's not because I identify myself as one now but they're doing nothing wrong; they're being humans and that's all.
M: Fucking disgusting, how can the tv channels show something like this. What if the children see it? They're corrupting their minds and making them think that this is normal! That's why we're so damn, people doing this makes God angry! Don't you think so?

You know what the worst part is? she has a gay friend, and we spend a lot of time together, he became a part of our family now. But as soon as he get out the door she starts talking bad about gay people, maybe she had forgotten that he is one.
I kept looking for someone through the app but no luck; most girls I didn't felt attracted to them, for a moment I thought of giving up, that maybe I didn't like girls at all. Until she appeared before my eyes.
She was 2 years older than me, curly black hair, a little bit taller than me, and slim. I like her at the moment I saw her pictures, Kai. Even her name got sweet feeling when it left my mouth. I swiped right (meaning I like her) and to my surprise it was a match (meaning she liked me too!).
I was so excited; I was kept looking at her pictures and wonder what she'd be like. A few minutes after that I got a message from her!
K: I like your hair!
Y: Hi! Thank you.
K: Hi! You're welcome. What bring you to Minder?
Y: I..ahh..this is..I want to make friends and meet new people!
K: Just friends?
Y: I mean anything can happen with time. What about you?
K: Friends would be good but I was looking for something more..you know?
Y: yeah, yeah. So tell me about you? Do you work or are you in school?
K: I just graduated this year and I'm currently working
Y: Oh wow where do you work?
K: I work with cars, I'm a mechanic
Y: Really? that's amazing!
K: You think so?
Y: Yeah! You don't? It's not often to see a girl working with cars. I think it's really cool!
K: Ohh thanks! What about you?
Y: I'm still in high school but I have a part-time job
That's how it all started. I was excited to discover this new side of me, and probably the world. I was going to meet new people and read them. Kai and me kept on texting for days, and weeks. Until she asked me out!
K: Do you want to go to the movies this saturday?
Y: What? Mmm..Yeah!
K: You sure?
Y: Yes! What time?
K: 8 p.m. Sounds good?
Y: yes! What are we going to watch?
K: you can decide, I'm not really into movies
Y: Ohh okay, We can do or go anywhere else, so we both would have a good time
K: No that's okay, I'll be good
Y: okay then
I was daydreaming at school, daydreaming about her, and what we would do, what was I supposed to say? or do? What if she didn't like once she see me? My clumsiness would take out the best of me.!
Saturday: I was excited and terrified at the same time. Just on my way home I realized that I haven't think of something to wear, I suck at this and it just got worst. I run home, take a shower, and think, put something on and take it off, over and over again.
Almost 8 p.m.!
I barely made it on time! The parking lot it's full. I fix my hair and check my make up; all good! I start walking and stay near the front entrance. The place is crowded as usual, I'm looking at my phone and realized she's late. I never thought of her not being the person she said she is. I didn't thought of this being a trap but she wouldn't ask to meet me at the movies, or maybe it'll happen after the movies.
Somebody touches my shoulders and it startle me. I turned around and it was a guy; in minutes I regretted every choice I've made until this moment. I felt betrayed and humiliated; I wanted to run, and scream but I breath.
Y: Yes? How can I help you?
My bad, I didn't mean to startle you; I saw you lonely standing here looking for somebody that clearly it's not coming
Y: what do you mean?
You've here for a while now so, he's not coming.
He did have a point, maybe she look at me from afar and wasn't interested. I walk away from him; I was trying my best not to cry and humiliate myself a little bit more.
Somebody touche my shoulder again.
Y: I told you I'm not going with you!
K: I know I'm late but I didn't thought it was going to be a big deal
Y: What? Ohh...I'm sorry I just thought that you were...that..guy.
K: That's okay. I'm sorry I was late and you're apologizing, everything okay?

K: Should we go now?
Y: yes! have you thought of something? like the movie?
K: you can choose I'm not really into that

I ended up choosing a romance-comedy movie, she paid for the tickets and the food. It was so awkward the whole time; on the phone she seemed funny and use to talk about herself but in person I was doing most of the talking. Every question I asked she responded with just yes or no, and got quiet again. I felt like running away but I really like her and I wasn't going to give up.

We rushed to her room as soon as we heard her crying.

"What's wrong Cindy?" I asked panting. 
She looked at me with teary eyes, 

"Anthon cheated on me." 

Alright, how do I explain this. 

Basically, since it was a Sunday Cindy called us over so we could watch movies together. 

Me and Zach didn't have anything better to do so we came over. 

Her parents weren't home, so we invited ourselves in with the spare key. I knew where it was because I've been coming here for the past 7 years. 

As soon as we entered we could hear her.

Her cries were loud enough to be heard downstairs.

I was confused, since she sounded so happy when she had called us like 20 minutes ago.

"Anthon cheated on me."

"Wait how could he cheat on you? He's your damn dog Cindy." Zach said sighing.

"Well when I-" 

Zach cut her off. 

"She's on her period, what did we expect?" 

"Hey! What does me being on my period have to do with anything?" 

"Chill Cindy. Zach got us snacks, let's watch some movies and eat, yeah?" 

"....thanks."

And yeah! This is my friend group. Great first impression huh? Whatever I love them anyway. 

After watching movies for a while, I had work so I had to leave and Zach decided to return home. 

"Thanks for coming guys, and thanks for the food Zach." 

"Bye Cind, try not to eat the house okay?"

"Shut up Zach." She said walking to the fridge. 

I chuckled as we put the spare key back under the flower pot and headed to the car. 

"I don't understand why you work. Doesn't your dad send you money?" 

"He does but I don't wanna rely on him. Besides I get free coffee this way." 

I paused for a bit. 

"Actually it's just because I get free coffee." I said making Zach laugh. I reached his house slowing down the car. 

"Well, up to you man. Thanks for driving me." He waved at me and left.

I headed to work. I work Monday, Wednesday and the weekends.

Sometimes I take sundays off but I don't really mind working on the weekends other than the fact that it's stupid busy. 

Well I don't have a life anyway. 

I don't have a girlfriend, or a boyfriend for that matter. The only romance I've had in my life has been random dudes hitting on me at work. 

Make no mistakes, I'm not gay. But If I like the person I don't really care about the gender to be honest. 

Besides most people in our city are pretty open minded. I haven't seen people get bullied for being gay, well, in my school atleast. 

Arriving at work, I sighed. It was extra busy today. 

I walked in, waving at Tanya, my coworker and quickly getting to work. 

After 3 grueling hours of continuously faking smiles at people, saying I was tired was an understatement. 

But hey, atleast I was almost done right? 

Almost towards the end of my shift, I saw a group of guys come in. One of them came over to the counter to order, clearly much stronger and taller than me. 

"Hi, what can I get you?" 

"Um one sec." 

He looked down at his phone, back up at me and then down again. 

He then proceeded to give me a long ass order while I looked at him, my mouth slightly falling open. Seriously? I was almost done with my shift, darn it. 

"Hey are you listening?" My head snapped up to find a slightly annoyed, but honestly gorgeous face staring back at me.(I'm not creepy I promise :p)

"Y-yeah. Do you mind repeating that? It's quite the long order." I said a little intimidated. 

"Nevermind just look at everything in my notes. It's a lot but please make it quick."

I feel so stupid, I hate myself. I don't know how I would face mom if I got a chance. It feels so embarrassing.
I heard someone knocks on my door. I did not answer it as I know she will eventually enter my room. And yes, she really enters, holding a large size chips and some drinks with her two hands and arms.

But now, the focus was not food which was already prepared. Instead, it was on Zed's words after everyone learned what Launcelot and Carmen were presently doing in their room...
Zed's words of kindness have affected most, if not at all. Sure, the prejudice still remained, but nevertheless, they were impressed by his conduct. They knew they were incapable of matching his attitude.
In this world, just how many people can show such pure kindness towards those with antagonistic tendencies?
Everyone knew the answer especially in the present era where selfishness has corroded every soul.
"They say kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give... but this is the first time I'm seeing such purity in actions," Aileen thought.
She has lived for more than four decades and seen every type of person. Meeting a person like Zed was her first. 
Even when her young miss almost punched him, instead of being angry or trying to retaliate, he ensured she was fine by providing first aid.
Now, the circumstances have changed and the subjects have actually tried to harm him, and yet, Zed's stand didn't change. 
Earlier, a part of Aileen thought he forgived Sophia for her mistake because he wanted to get closer to her, given her beauty and status. Now she no longer thought of such a thing. 
She chided herself for doubting the intentions of such a sagely man...
While the onlookers analyzed his selfless actions, Zed has finally helped Jenina recover from her emotional state. 
"Thank you," Jenina said.
Her face was flushed from her the crying, and also because she made a show of herself in front of so many.
"No need to thank me," Zed replied with a smile. "I'm glad you are fine and moved on." 
Jenina didn't respond and glanced at the white handkerchief he was holding. It was stained with her tears and mascara. 
She recalled the way he consoled her.
The close hug, patting her back, wiping her tears... standing for her while everyone was gloating over her misery. 
This made her eyes misty with emotions. 
As a twenty-six years old, she has a bit of experience in love though none of them turned serious, and even the one with Launcelot wasn't consummated.
In all her relationships, she has never met a man like Zed. She wasn't referring to his kindness or his handsome facial features.
No, it was about his conduct.
She knew how men try to take advantage of a woman in her emotional state. In the end, all they want is consoling to turn into sexual. Even during consoling, they would 'mistakenly' grope or touch inappropriately, hoping the woman wouldn't mind due to her emotional state.
But Zed did no such thing. 
Even though he took her in a close hug, he didn't try to press his chest against hers, nor there were inappropriate movements.
He was a perfect gentleman! He was a refreshing change from all the perverted-minded males who were always hungry for lust!
Jenina chewed her lips and took a deep breath. Without saying anything to him, she turned around, and walked to Sophia. 
"Huh?" Sophia was startled.
She hasn't taken pleasure in her misery but she didn't try to console her either. And why would she when Jenina tried to insult her when they meet in the afternoon? If not for Zed's intervention, she would have really felt bad for being wrongly accused as a pervert by Jenina. 
Much to Sophia's amazement, Jenina took her hands into her palms, and said, "I'm really sorry. Please forgive me for what I did." 
The entire camp house turned silent. Onur and others were stunned by her apology as they knew her personality. She wasn't the type to apologize for her actions even when she was wrong.
Sophia was dumbfounded and didn't know how to react. From the corner of her eyes, she eyed Zed and thought of things he has achieved in less than a day. His kindness has brought so many positive changes.
"And then there is that shameless villain who robbed the auction house! He is a living example of anarchy and chaos! Next time I meet him, I would teach him positive values! Maybe if he stays in touch with Zed, he can even change for better!!"
Sophia internally decided before accepting Jenina's apology. 
A few minutes later, the dinner finally started. Everyone pretended to not care about the occasional sounds that came from Launcelot's room.
In the open space, the retinues of Sophia served the food. Zed, Ashlyn, Sophia, Aileen, and even Jenina were sitting on the same table. 
The dinner was rather light with meat and soup. Zed didn't mind and he thanked the servants for delicious food.
"Is Guardian Spirit Village your final destination? Or you are visiting the core region?" Jenina enquired. 
Zed thought for a moment. He wanted to separate from Ashlyn and others, and this was the final night Zed was going to be in the forest. Tomorrow, he would look for an opportunity so that Kiba can come back.
As such, given his plans for Zed, he said, "I'm only here to roam around with no interest in the core region."
"Oh!" Sophia was disappointed.
She actually enjoyed his presence and his well-mannered attitude, something her mother always said was a must in any person for her to consider worthy of being a friend. 
Now, she felt sad to not have any chances of meeting him in the core region. But she suppressed her disappointment and recalled her objective.
Ashlyn was surprised by his answer. She thought he would be going to the core region along with his elder brother.
Jenina was in the middle of making a reply when she heard stepping sounds. Startled, she turned her head and noticed two males.
Carmen and Lancelot. 
They were dressed in proper clothing but their faces were pale, and even their eyes were filled with threads of blood. When they walked, especially Lancelot, his legs were trembling, almost on verge of buckling.
Anyone who observed them for the first time would feel they have come out of a haunted house...
A few minutes ago, the effects of the cyan pills faded. When they regained clarity and looked at each other, joined as one in the worst possible way, they went berserk. They pushed each other and broke the bed in the process.
They were on the verge of screaming at losing their innocence, but they didn't dare shout! Both of them were afraid of making any sound which might be noticed by others and let their dirty secret out!
Even though they didn't know why they did what they did, the memory of their actions was fully clear in their minds.
In fact, the scene flashed in crystal-clear clarity before their eyes, making their skin crawl. They were on the verge of passing out!
Neither Launcelot nor Carmen could believe their present state.
Just some forty minutes ago, they were looking forward to the best time of their life... but just a few minutes later, they experienced the worst time of their lives!!
Both of them were sure that even hell wouldn't treat them with such scary moments!
For now, they tried their best to act normal and avoid scandal. 
Sophia, with a radiant smile, invited Carmen to a seat next to her. 
"?" Carmen was pleasantly surprised. She has never invited him nor any male except for Zed, but she was inviting him!
He wondered if this was the good that comes after bad! He was on the verge of crying at such a good fortune after the disaster.
Regardless, he rushed and took the seat. His lower body was paining when he sat down, but he suppressed it with the happiness he was feeling.
He glanced at Zed with a smirk, as if telling - see! I'm with this beauty! she invited me!!
Carmen's lips curled up further when he heard Sophia's next words. 
"Carmen, I think you are the only man I can trust!" Sophia said while offering him a bowl of soup. She added grilled meat pieces on a plate and placed it alongside.
Her actions were like fireworks in the darkest of night... bringing warm light in his life!
Carmen couldn't believe his luck. Not even in his sweetest dream did he dare expect such a favorable turn of situations. 
 "You are right! You can always trust me!" Carmen assured her while glancing at Zed. With the same smirk, he stuffed a meat piece in his mouth. 
Carmen decided to cancel the drug plan he has made with Launcelot. Not like they were in any condition to implement the plan, but still, there was no way he was going to let another man even gaze at her!
"Yeap," Sophia agreed with him. "Most movies I saw were telling me that Carmen is the man you can trust but I only realized it today."
"Umm..." Carmen looked at her in surprise while chewing the meat pieces.
Did she start loving me through movies?
Oh god! I would reward those movie directors with a fortune!!
"All those boring stupid romance movies mom made me watch weren't fully wrong! Every female's best friend is not a female, but a male... A male like you, a gay!" Sophia said happily. 
Her intention wasn't to insult him by calling him gay. In fact, it was to make him feel acceptable. 
But it did the opposite effect...
Her words were like a clap of thunder right below his ears.
Does she know?!
She considers me trustable because she thinks I'm....?! No!
Impossible!!
His pupils turned to the size of a needle, and he unconsciously gulped down the meat pieces, and choking in the process. 
"You are the best friend I was supposed to have," Sophia brought a spoon of soup to his lips. "Have some soup."
She even patted his back to help him from choking.
In ordinary times, such an act would make him scream in joy, but now, it horrified him. His entire body began dripping with cold sweat, and his soul cursed every movie director in existence.
"I'm not gay!" Carmen shouted and the pieces of meat sprayed out.
He was sure of it, and believed what happened with Launcelot was just a freak accident... a mistake! He was a proud straight man!!
And yet, Sophia was considering him as a gay?! She was aware of what happened between him and Launcelot?!
That couldn't be!
"Relax, bestie, there is no reason for you to be worried," Sophia said with a patient smile. She knew it was too much for him at his secret being leaked but so what? She was there for him!
Sophia remembered what Zed said about peer pressure and social acceptance. As such, she could understand why he was pretending to be not gay. 
She knew she has to help him get his confidence to face the world. Just till when can he hide his sexuality due to fear of others?
That wasn't living but merely being existing!
She didn't want this for Carmen just because he was different and a homosexual. No matter what, she wouldn't let there be any discrimination!
If she did, then how could she ever face her mother who said one shouldn't discriminate on how they were born!? 
She might be young and eighteen, but her passion to fight injustice was strong. She would be a fierce protector of Carmen!
"Everyone knows about you, but if anyone dares to mock you, they will face my fists."
Sophia raised her fists and they crackled with streams of energy. A single punch could destroy a metallic pillar to pieces!
Her words and action were supposed to relax him, but when they registered in his mind, they were like an explosion.
Does everyone know?!

Carmen refused to believe it.
