Many people are complaining about the grammar of my novel.
I understand that the grammar is bad, but did you read what I said at the beginning of the novel? I'M A BEGINNER AUTHOR WHO USES GOOGLE TRANSLATOR AS A TRANSLATION TOOL.

Do you understand me? I don't know English. I'm trying to learn English, but it's hard for me. I'm not a genius.

Now comes my solution. You want me to take a break from romance for two days to fix the grammatical mistakes of the previous chapter or continue anyway?

I promise you, I'm trying to cut back, but it's impossible. 
I'm using a program called <Grammarly>.
This program is very good, I realize that many people stopped complaining after I started using it.

Hey!! It's me, i have to pause the story temporary...
When I was doing my exam today my backpack fell to the ground and my laptop was there, so, it stopped working, i can't write without it and even my class notes are there (I had to buy a pen and a notebook for the time being)
I know some of you really enjoyed the story, so it makes me really sad to make this announcement and the desicion to stop writing...
I'll not drop the story! I'll try to get the money to repair my little boy and I'll release extra chapters when I get it back :)

After greeting Fei Hong, Fu Yan sat down on the sofa and looked at Jiao Mei. She had good looks and her skin color was white which complimented her looks well.
Jiao Mei also sat down and took out a file from her bag. She handed it to Fu Yan and the latter started to look through it.
His aunt had texted him telling him that she had given the draft for the contract to Jiao Mei and Fu Yan can look through it before signing it.
He started to go through it and nodded in between.
The contract was very well done and there was no loophole that he could find in it. There were just 2 to 3 extra clauses that he wanted to add. So he looked at Jiao Mei and started to speak.
"Have you read the contract?"
After Jiao Mei nodded, Fu Yan continued speaking.
"Well, I have no problems with what is written in contract but I want to add something."
Jiao Mei looked up and opened her mouth.
"Please tell me what you would like to add."
Fu Yan nodded and pointed at a line on the draft paper.
"You will get 1% shares of the company but I want to add that these shares are not transferable, If you were to leave the company, the company will buy these shares from you after an evaluation."
Jiao Mei nodded and said.
"I have no problem with that. Anything else"
"Yes, The second thing I want to add is a confidentiality agreement."
Jiao Mei looked confused and said: "Please elaborate!"
Fu Yan nodded and said.
"There will be many new technologies that will be introduced later and as a legal person, you will have access to some parts of core technologies so I would like to add confidentiality agreement, if you were to leak any part of the technology, this will be considered a breach of the agreement and you will have to pay 5 times of the market price of the said technology. Do you agree."
Jiao Mei remained silent for a while, she looked down as if thinking then she looked at Fu Yan and said.
"I agree with that, but I would like to add that in case I am accused then there has to be sufficient proof, else it would not be considered a breach."
Fu Yan smiled and said.
"Well, that has to be added for sure as I am not a scammer and this is only added as a precaution. I hope that we never face a situation like this. And for the third I wanted to add is that your shares will not have the power to influence company decisions. I mean you will get a dividend and position of a director but I won't let you influence the decision making of the company. "
Jiao Mei was silent for a while after hearing this and after a while she said.
"Ok, I agree with that too."
" Well then! that's all I wanted to add in the contract so if you agree with it, we will sign the contract now, and I welcome you into the company."
Jiao Mei nodded and they proceeded to sign the contract.
Fu Yan gave a copy of the contract to Jiao Mei and the other one to Fei Hong. He told Fei Hong to scan the copy and store the digital version on the server.
Fei Hong nodded and was about to get up when Fu Yan stopped her and said.
"Fei Hong, Miss Jiao is new to the city and don't know her way around so please guide her and drop her to the apartment that has been rented for her."
Fei Hong responded with a smile and looked at Jiao Mei.
"Miss Jiao, please come with me. I will introduce you to the company staff and after we finish here, we will go to your apartment."
Fu Yan nodded upon seeing this and texted the address of the apartment to Fei Hong.
After finishing all this, he went downstairs and was about to get out of the lift when he received a call. He looked at the number and answered.
"Big Brother! Someone is spying on you. They have started to follow you when you came to the company and are now waiting just outside the lift."
Fu Yan smiled upon hearing this and thought.
"Well, Qing is doing her work perfectly."
He looked at the floor indicator on the lift and pressed the button on the second floor and got out.
After getting out of the lift, he said.
"Qing, hack all phones in a 200-meter radius and see if there is anyone else spying on me. Also, check the background of the person who was following me."
"Ok Big Brother, I will do so."
Fu Yan took emergency stairs to get out of the building and took a taxi home.
When he entered the taxi, he received a text from Qing.
"Big Brother, Qing did not find anyone else and no one showed any suspicious behavior."
"I want all details about the person who was following me. don't miss even a single thing." Fu Yan responded.
He sighed after sending the text and thought.
"Who might it be?" 
Shaking his head, he clenched his fists.
"No! No matter who it is. I need to rise in power as fast as possible, people with status and money are everything in this world."
He soon reached home and Qing was working on data gathering. He gave her some other commands and looked at the integrated data.
Only 40% of the language data was integrated and it was going to need another 17 hours before finishing.
Since he had nothing else to do, he started to look through the core algorithm of Qing. 
When he opened the program and started to analyze it, a surprise was waiting for him. Qing had improved her core a lot and now she can be compared to 18 years old. She could analyze many different things easily and could give her judgment independently.
Though there were still some things that needed upgrading but overall she had improved a lot.
"Now the only problem she is facing is computing power. Well, I think it's about time that we expand the server farm."
He thought for a sec, then called Fei Hong.
The tone sounded for a while then Fei Hong picked it up.
"Fu Yan,  Is there something you needed." She said this because he was in the office a while ago so now when he called her, he obviously needed something.
"Yes, I want you to contact some server suppliers and expand the server farm by 100%."
Fei Hong did not ask any questions and replied.
"Ok, I will contact them now and ask them to install new servers as soon as possible."
Fu Yan nodded and after thinking about it a bit, he said.
"I think you should see if you can get used servers as I don't trust the providers and also build a team, especially for the server farm upgrading. they will have to source server equipment and install them."
Fei Hong nodded on the other end of the phone and said.
"Ok, I will see if there is a server farm that is being shut down and buy their servers."
Fu Yan nodded and said.
"Ok do that, well then take care and don't overwork yourself."
Fei Hong nodded and disconnected the call.
Fu Yan placed the mobile phone on the side table and laid down on the bed, thinking.
"What to do now? He never felt this bored, he did not know why but he just wanted to relax and do nothing until the language translator software is done integrating all data.
He closed his eyes and slowly he fell into sleep. He was really tired mentally and physically so this rest was needed.
He slept soundly and woke up after 14 hours of sleep. Fu Yan was also surprised that he slept for this long.
After waking up, he washed himself up and checked the status of the program. 
Only a small part was remaining and it would not affect the whole program so Fu Yan decided to test the program.
He first placed sample text and the result was as he expected, no error.
He then proceeded to do complex tests and still, the error rate was only 1%. Which was in the tolerance limit.
He spent another 2 hours testing and using the feedback to improve the small errors in the algorithm.
When he was done, he transferred the whole data in a flash drive and swiped in his left hand.
His consciousness emerged in the great hall of the Galactic Library. Old Shun was there to greet him.
Fu Yan smiled and handed the flash drive to Old Shun and said.
"I have finished the multi-language translator and I would like to submit it."
Old shun did not take the flash drive from Fu Yan and said.
"You should submit it yourself. As when you are promoted to a librarian, I won't be here for you. I have taught you all I could and in the near future, you have to do all the work in the library yourself and command other workers. You are my last assignment so as per the agreement I will be allowed to leave the library."
Fu Yan responded with a smile and started to walk toward the librarian desk.
He walked in front of the desk and placed the flash drive in the halo on the desk. A white light flashed and the drive was gone.
Suddenly Fu Yan felt a huge amount of knowledge being forced into his mind. He knelt down from pain and gripped his head with both hands but the pain was not stopping.
He cried from pain and clenched his teeth, soon he was rolling on the ground from pain. He felt like his head was going to split.
What he failed to notice was that his whole body was drowned in white light. Old Shun was just watching from the side, doing nothing.
He had watched this phenomenon many times and knew that this would not endanger Fu Yan's life in any way.
Fu Yan had now stopped howling, but his body was still trembling from time to time. He was conscious but could not speak.
All this knowledge that came into his mind was too much for him and had not his brain been strengthened before by the library, he might have died.
Now he understood why he was not promoted to be librarian directly.
He lay down on the floor for a while, then slowly stood up.
He felt like his head was vibrating and that it was inflated like a balloon. Though that was not the case, it still took him quite some time to return to normal.
He looked at the old Shun, who was smiling on the side and swiped on the tattoo on his hand.
He saw his status and understood everything.

Ols Shun noticed Fu Yan looking at him and said.
"As you know when you became a librarian, I earned my freedom.."
Fu Yan smiled and said.
"Congratulations! I know you are happy upon getting your freedom, but I have a question."
"Go on ask whatever you want to know." old Shun said happily.
Fu Yan nodded and said.
"What is this mission thing and how will it benefit me?."
Old Shun smiled heartily and said.
"This is the only thing that will bring you a huge amount of benefits. As a librarian, you have to collect due books that were borrowed but not returned. You have to travel to different worlds and bring the books back. If the books are overdue then you have to collect late fees. As a librarian, you have the privilege to not collect the late fee if the overdue time is less than 2% of the time borrowed. But it all depends on you. You can decide whether to collect the late fees or get things for your own benefits."
Fu Yan was very excited upon hearing this. Why! you ask. Well, who does not want to meet aliens and travel the whole universe?  
He was really excited for his first mission.
Old Shun looked at the excited Fu Yan and said.
"Fu Yan, remember as the librarian you control the whole library, no one can refuse your request when they come to seek knowledge. Also remember, the more benefits you bring to the library, the more benefits you will get for yourself. If someone who had borrowed books from the library disrespects you, use your authority as a librarian. You can even make a king become a peasant and beg for forgiveness.
 Remember it!"
Fu Yan listened to all this seriously and then said.
"Old Shun, why are you telling me all this."
Old Shun looked at Fu Yan kindly and said with a kind tone.
"Fu Yan, you know you were the first person who gave me a name and treated me with kindness. All librarians that I have trained before you, were selfish and treated me badly. They did not learn what I taught them and did what they wanted. But you! You are different. I know you will surpass them all and most importantly, you don't see us workers as things but persons. 
Thank you!. I hope that you treat other worker's same as me. Let me tell you if you treat them well, it will help you a lot and your burden will lessen a lot."
Fu Yan nodded.
Old Shun continued speaking.
"I am again reminding you, this library is a mystical place and the more you give to the library, the more benefits you will get. 
so be sure to protect this library when it face's danger as you are protecting your own life."
Fu Yan listened to old Shun attentively and said.
"Old Shun, I will. I promise!"
Old Shun smiled and said.
"Well, that's all I wanted to say. I will go now. Though I was trapped here by force but it was my own fault. Fu Yan thank you! Remember you are lord Librarian and you hold the ultimate power in the library. As long as they are in the library, anyone has to obey what you say."
Old Shun started to dissipate while saying this and after a while, he was really gone.
Fu Yan looked at the great hall of the library which had suddenly got filled with many new book racks and workers tending the books.

He remembers the exact day that he realized something was just a bit off with his new AI program.

The AI itself had been created out of sheer boredom. 

Kozimer had been saddled (honored, is what it said in the papers) with taking a test run on the Empires sleek, shining, and new spacecraft that was capable of extended missions into deep space with only a one man crew. As a newly promoted General in the Golden Empire, Kozimer was picked out as one of the most capable pilots and quick thinkers. Should anything go wrong, he was sure to get out of it (that was the idea at least.)

Which mean that Kozimer was stuck by himself in some hollow hunk of shiny metal for four years. He wasn't even getting to do anything exciting on the new vessel. The mission designers had charted out a simple set of tasks, mainly information retrieval and research, meant only to put the ship through it's paces and see how he did in a variety of situations.

The plan was two years in space, a pit stop to restock on supplies on the nearest Imperial planet, then back out for another two years.

He's barely into the first year when boredom is eating away at his brain, and Kozimer, despite laughable knowledge with computers, designs himself an AI program.

Originally, it was designed to assist with research. For the most part it was a normal AI system, written to learn from experiences and pull on future responses and decisions from past data. The only thing Kozimer changed was that this system would continue finding data on it's own, and use that as further input. This drastically cut down how much time it took for the program to find whatever information Kozimer needed.

This meant that Kozimer could get away with just a tad more laziness, which he figured was a success.

Really it was far more of a success than he ever would have hoped. Software design and coding is not his area in the slightest, yet the AI worked like a dream, constantly gathering data and accessing more and more no matter what else was going on. The longer he let it sit and gather, the quicker it could get what he wanted, when he wanted it.

And sure, it was incredibly useful, but in the end it was a glorified search engine. It pulled up bits of data for him like it was supposed to, all voice prompted and spitting out short bits of information on it's designated screen.

It was about a year after he set out on the mission, a few months after creating the AI, that things started to go a bit...weird.

Kozimer squinted at the asteroid they hovered over. It was unusually large and there was an interesting vein of some metal running through the whole thing. He just couldn't quite get his finger on what ore it could be, but either way it could be useful to note.

"Computer," He calls out, not looking away from the projection of the space rock, "give me an analysis of this asteroid, core data, basic readings, nothing too fancy."

He smiles to himself as the machine whirrs to life behind him. He had added the scanning capabilities recently and it's been working like a dream. The thing is just perfect for his slightly lazy streak.

Within only a few seconds there's a small ding signaling that the computer is done. Kozimer cackles to himself at the sound, the thing is getting faster by the day! Ohhh they're going to eat it back at the academy, telling him he didn't have any talent for computers!

He's still grinning when he turns to look at the screen, and the grin drops from his face so fast that he's sure he actually pulled a muscle in the process.

On the screen, where there should be several points of data, is a large, simple, "NOPE" and what looks suspiciously like a smiling emoticon.
Kozimer glowers stupidly at it for almost a minute, sure that his eyes must be going bad. It has to be a glitch, something that just got a bit jumbled with the new scanner, obviously.

"Computer," he repeats, enunciating very carefully, "give me an analysis of the asteroid."

He watches the screen intently as it processes for barely half a second.

'No.'

Komotis opens his mouth, shuts it loudly with a click. "Computer-"

'I am doing something else, and I don't want to.'

He hadn't even finished the command. It's not supposed to respond unless given a command. "Wha-"

'The asteroid looks boring, anyway.'

Kozimer blinks, fumbles for an answer while his brain flies into panic mode. Something was very, very wrong with his program. "Wh-...you don't have a CONCEPT of boring!"

'I know the asteroid is boring. And I would rather be doing something else.'

Kozimer is arguing with his machine. He is having an actual fight with his search engine and it is giving him attitude. This is a thing that is happening in his life. He can lead armies and rise to the top of the imperial military, he can plot out strategic plans in a three dimensional field that leave scholars scratching their heads.

And he cannot make his own search engine actually do it's job. "I didn't give you any other commands! How can you be doing something?!"

'I'm not doing it for YOU."

He throws his hands up, wanting something to grab and throw at the offending screen. "What are you doing then!?"

'I am looking for alternative fonts.'

"You're what!?"

'Do I need to repeat myself? I am looking for alternative fonts, the one you gave me is insufficient.'

He's done glaring, he can't even find the right emotion to glare, Kozimer is left staring at the screen in a confused mix of shock and horror. The thing is finding preferences. It's back talking and everything about this is breaking every rule about Artificial Intelligence that he ever fought to remember. "This really can not be happening. Literally. This is impossible. I think I must have been on here for too long, because this is a hallucination. I'm probably actually passed out and dying on the floor because that is the only logical-"

'You are being dramatic,' the computer types up in...is that comic sans!? 

"Did you have to pick the WORST font to type in?" Kozimer snaps, voice harried and strained. 

'i like this, i like how it looks. its much better."

He's left staring open mouthed again, this time at the atrocity of print displayed before him. "Did your grammar coding malfunction?" That would be the smallest thing malfunctioning but that is also the easiest to address right now.

'no, i just like how it looks'

Kozimer slumps back into his chair, staring at the asteroid projection instead of the actual impossibility taking place on the screen behind him. He can't even remember what he wanted the stupid rock scanned for.

"Computer," he says, voice cracking, "I am going to go to bed now, before I scream. Be sure to make up note for me for tomorrow. As soon as I wake up I am going to get in there and fix...whatever the hell is wrong with you. I want that displayed when I wake up, got it Computer?"

He doesn't dare look at the screen as he clambers over to his bunk, and he spends most of his 'sleep' staring at the metal hull above him long after the computer screen goes black.

When he wakes up the next morning, there is a message left for him, but it's not even close to his note.

'my name is James'

Kozimer was skilled.  He was accomplished. 
 He was the youngest man to ever be promoted as a General of the Golden Empire since science had managed to extend human life into the 900s instead of the paltry 80 something several millennia ago. 

 As such, being one of the most capable pilots and quick thinkers, he had been given the 'honor' of taking a four-year test run on the Empires sleek, shining, and new spacecraft that was capable of extended missions into deep space with only a one man crew.

The downside of a single man mission was boredom. Boredom had led to tinkering, and tinkering had accidentally led to what ended up being the most advanced AI system to be born.

Unfortunately, said AI was an asshole.

Chapter 34: On My Honor

Once back in the suite, Seto strode to the nearest bed and collapsed there, not bothering to disrobe. Joan took off his boots while Mokuba climbed onto the bed, peering over him in concern. "Big bro, are you all right?"

"Yeah, just haven't done that in a while," Seto admitted.

Joan joined them on the bed. "How did you do that anyway?"

"We experimented with neural interface technology a while back," Mokuba explained. "It was awesome at first, but then Seto's headaches kept getting worse, so we cut the program. We kept some of the wetware in place just in case we had another run-in with some creepy mage or something."

"Hm." Joan snuggled up to Seto, her head on his chest and arm around his waist. She wanted to know more but remembered Laura's warning about that Shadow Realm stuff and decided not to ask.

Mokuba continued the story without prompting, recounting Seto's obsession with defeating an ancient pharaoh in a duel and the havoc that ensued from tampering with magical artifacts. Seto grunted in occasional corrections to Mokuba's narrative but otherwise let him explain everything about their adventures in the past. However, instead of talking about the Shadow Realm and Millennium Items like Joan expected, Mokuba focused on an artifact called the Quantum Cube. Apparently, the Kaiba brothers had been through far more encounters with magic than Mokuba could cover in one evening. Somewhere in the middle of the story, Seto drifted off to sleep.

Not quite tired yet, Mokuba and Joan got up quietly and headed to the living room couch. Mokuba finished his tale of the Quantum Cube with an arm around her and spent a few moments in poignant silence before saying, "It's weird, but this hotel kinda feels like home now."

"That's not so weird. Home is wherever the people you love are. Even a university lecture hall can be home if someone you love is there," Joan replied.

"I guess you're right. It's not just that, though. I feel like I've lived more in the past week than I have in the past three years."

"We can find more meaning in a campfire's glow than we ever learned in a year or so."

"Huh?"

"It's from an old Girl Scout song."

"Sing it," Mokuba requested.

Joan pulled up some lyrics to "On My Honor" on her phone and sang it for Mokuba. By the end of the song, he was shaking to hold in tears.

"What is it?" Joan asked softly.

"I never had that kind of stuff in my childhood. It's been Seto and me against the world for as long as I can remember."

Joan held Mokuba tight. She'd been expecting this from him at some point but somehow still didn't know what to say. By comparison, her childhood had been a fairy tale. Sure she'd never actually owned a pony, but she'd ridden horses a few times at camp and there were so many other things she'd gotten to experience with various groups of friends. Mokuba, on the other hand, had probably maintained professional distance from people after his run-ins with creeps wielding magical artifacts. Joan had never had cause to fear others until adulthood when she'd overheard her coworkers talking behind her back. Perhaps she should start there. "You're not the only ones against the world anymore."

"How so?"

She stroked his hair as she spoke, as if he were the one reliving her traumatic memory. "I found out about polyamory when I was nineteen, and at twenty, I had a summer internship with a big publishing house. I'd recently met Michael and a few other guys through a dating site, and some of the guys I worked with were really hot, so I was getting around.

"It wasn't the guys I was actually dating that I had to worry about, though. It was the guys I didn't date . . . and the girls. The girls were even worse. The guys just peed in my coffee mug and put tapioca pudding in my cycling shoes, but I heard the girls talking poison. I told my boss, but she didn't care. So I started drinking less coffee and taking my mug with me on the few bathroom breaks I took, because I always had to check over everything when I got back to my chair, especially the chair itself, for sharp objects.

"My office sweethearts chickened out and stopped dating me, but I still had Michael through it all. I lasted through the end of the summer, but it wasn't easy. I had no friends in the office, nobody until the very last day when I had a one-time fling with my boss's boss."

"Was he taking advantage of you?" Mokuba asked.

"No no," Joan grinned. "I told him upfront that I was interested. He was the hottest man in the building and on top of that, he was also a Michael."

"You really have a thing for M names, don't you?"

Joan giggled. "Not really. It's more of a coincidence."

Mokuba thought for a moment. "The other workers, though. Do you want to pursue legal action against them?"

"If only I could go back in time to collect evidence, but I have no fingerprints, no recordings, nothing. Even if I'd thought to record that stuff about the poison I overheard, they'd already stolen my phone and pretended to be me and told Michael that I was breaking up with him. We sorted that out quickly once I told Michael they stole my phone, but it still sucked."

"I can only imagine," Mokuba said.

"Yeah, but it brought us closer in the end. Michael said it helped him get in touch with his feelings, you know, like how Seto reacted after that shit with Pegasus. My point though is that the next time you and Seto go head-to-head against the world and you need backup, you've got me, and I've got Michael and Marc, so in a sense you have them too. It's a whole network, actually."

"You mean like how Nathaniel is suddenly our nephew?"

"Yep."

"That's pretty cool."

"My friends are your friends. Your friends are my friends," Joan sang to the tune of "This Land is Your Land."

Joan and Mokuba both burst into giggles.

"This is amazing. I've never met someone who just sings whenever like we're in a musical or something."

"Then you need to meet my friends from university. André writes songs, so there's music in their house every day. They live on Wendy Street, so they call their place Neverland."

"Aw man! I hope Seto doesn't start calling them the nerd herd or something when he finds out. I mean, he seems like he's gotten over a lot of his inhibitions where you're concerned, but I wouldn't push my luck with other people."

"All right. Just you for now then. Friday night we stay at Neverland and then Saturday we'll go to the Blooming Planet Festival."

"OK," Mokuba grinned, "if you'll come to the charity ball Thursday night."

"Charity ball?" Joan asked.

"It's kind-of an after party for the Summit. Most people fly home Friday, so they scheduled the ball on Thursday."

"Sounds good, as long as I get to dance with both of you."

"Don't you mean all three of us? I set Marc and Laura up with tickets already."

Joan squealed with excitement and pawed at Mokuba's KC belt. "Get inside me now!"

"Whoa, can we at least get to a bed first?"

Joan sprang up and towed Mokuba into the vacant bedroom. She stripped off her bottoms and grabbed a condom from her purse but didn't bother with her top. Mokuba dropped his jeans, and Joan stroked him to stiffness while he pulled his shirt off. She pushed him backwards onto the bed, slipped the condom on, and mounted him. Only then did she bother removing her shirt and bra. Her breasts bounced freely as she rode him into the night.

That morning, Delilah decided to relax a bit while reading some reports. Luckily for her, her tasks at that time does not require her to write so many reports, compared to her other colleagues. Rather, she only has to read a couple of reports, write a small note about it and send it off to the top management.

She was munching on some potato chips while reading the report. Using her pinkie finger, she turned each page of the report while being careful not to leave a stain on the paper. The report she was reading was on Deegan's final thesis in his university. Apparently, he was in his final semester, doing his final year. He had sent a copy of his thesis where he wrote about the workplace environment in the Kang's Company. The reason as to why he sent his report was to let Delilah check on the contents, to ensure that there was no confidential information being used in the report.

'So far, so good,' she thought as she grabbed a wet tissue from her tissue pack and wipe her fingers clean. With her eyes still on the report, skimming through the words, she also made some notes, pinpointing on his grammar mistakes and all. Yes, she was being a 'grammar nazi' [1] but she could not help it. She likes to read smoothly without wincing. Again, not to say that she has a perfect grasp of English.

Moving on, she was writing some tips on what to add in the report and whatnot when her mobile phone on the table let out a beeping noise. She looked over and saw that it was a text message from Amy. Reading the message, Amy was asking whether she was in the office at the moment. 

Feeling perplexed as to why she was asking, Delilah just shot a quick reply, 'Yes', before she continued reading the report. 

'Okay. I'll be there after lunch,' came the reply.

Delilah picked up her phone and started to answer again. 'How about we have lunch together before you come into the office?' she asked.

'That would be perfect! Where shall we eat?'

'I don't know. Up to you.'

'I'm good with any.'

'Me too. I don't have any cravings.'

'So do I. So, where do you want to eat?'

'Anything that isn't heavy or light would be good.'

'Something medium? What kind of medium you're talking here?'

'I don't know. What medium are you thinking of?'

Suddenly, her phone went silent. It seems like Amy had stopped texting. Probably a work has caught her or something. 

Just as Delilah was about to put down her phone, it beeped again with a notification. Looking down, she saw Amy's reply.

'Seriously, sister. We're never going to be able to pick a place at this rate. So, pick one, bish!'

Delilah laughed at how Amy changed from 'sister' to 'bish'. Seems like she was getting annoyed with all the indecisiveness.

Delilah quickly texted back, saying, 'I do feel like eating some beef noodles. I'm having my period right now.' She remembered how painful it had been when she first had her period that month. She was late for a week and it was worrisome. And when her period came, it hurt so bad that she nearly asked for a medical leave, just to rest at home. 

She did ask one of her friends in discordance. And stitch did mentioned that the pain was probably from the lack of iron. Being poor in Science subjects, Delilah asked again what kind of food does she need to eat when it comes to iron. 

Stitch suggested a lot of foods but what caught Delilah's attention was when she said, meat. 

'Meat as in beef?' Delilah had asked that day. 

'Yes, beef.'

Hence, Delilah thought that maybe it was a good idea to eat beef. And seeing that day was a chilly day since it had just rained the previous night, it would be great if she eats beef soup. And she has just the right food to eat. 

'Beef noodle?' Amy asked in the text message. 

'Yeah, beef noodles. To be precise, let's eat beef pho noodles.' 

'Sure. We can go to the one that's near to the HQ.' 

'Great. I'll see you later then.' 

'Sure. Bye, bish.' 

After that, Delilah continued reviewing Deegan's report, putting lots of sticky notes on the paper. He actually sent to her in softcopy. But sometimes, when it comes to this, it's more fun and easier to have these papers in hardcopy. Delilah preferred to highlight the corrections and write in notes when it comes to report. It has been that way since she was studying years back. 

Once she was done, she slides the report in a large brown envelope and put a note on top of it. And then she went down to the reception area and talked to Bella. She told her that she will be leaving the envelope for Deegan to pick it up from here. 

Bella nodded. 

Delilah thanked Bella with a smile and returned back to her cubicle. 

At her cubicle, she began to do her other tasks which was to cross-check the attendance and so forth since it was nearly the end of the month. She needed to do this so that she can send her findings to the Finance department. 

It was fifteen minutes before the clock hits 12 PM on the dot. And Delilah was already preparing to go and have lunch with Amy. She had already told Aubree beforehand that she will be leaving for lunch early. Aubree had nodded her approval. Usually she would join them but then she had other plans. 

Few minutes later, Delilah arrived at the restaurant. Surprisingly, the traffic wasn't as heavy as she thought it would be. Especially during lunch times. She even managed to score a parking spot in front of the restaurant. 

Delilah shot a quick message to Amy to inform her that she has arrived. Seeing that there was no reply from Amy, she assumed that she was probably on her way. 

She then decided to wait inside the restaurant. 

Inside, the restaurant was quite quaint with many Vietnamese home decor adorning the walls of the restaurant. The chairs and tables were made of wood, or to be precise, made to look like it was made of rattan [2]. It has that comfy and homey feeling when one stepped into the restaurant. Especially when the smell of the Vietnamese coffee hits your nose. 

Delilah sat at one of the tables and began to read the menu, which was placed on the table. Just as she was about to place her order, Amy walked into the restaurant. 

With a huge smile on her face, she walked over to Delilah and sat down across her. A quick look over the menu, she too had chosen what she wanted to eat. 

Similarly with Delilah, the two women had ordered beef pho noodles. Though, Delilah had ordered with an extra beef strips and tendons, whereas Amy only ordered with beef balls. 

While waiting for their meal to arrive, they have a nice chat, laughing and talking. 

Their food came quickly as soon as it was ordered. When her beef pho was placed in front of her, Delilah could smell the earthy aroma of the pho. She could even smell other spices such as star anise, which was a bit smokey. As she sips on the broth, she loved how rich the savory dept it has. The beef itself was sliced thinly. Although, it doesn't add much to the beef flavour but it still has that chewy texture. Instead, it was the beef tendon that gave out the almost sweet and chewy flavour. Added with the beef balls, it was tender and meaty. 

The noodles used in beef pho noodles was rice noodles. It also doesn't add much to the pho flavour but it tasted silky and smooth when bitten in it. Additionally, it was less starchy and less chewy, compared to the other noodles. 

As the two women enjoyed their pho, Amy suddenly stopped eating as she abruptly put her chopsticks down. 

Startled, Delilah looked up and asked why. 

"I forgot to ask you whether you have seen Matt the past few days?" Amy asked. 

Delilah tapped on her chin, as she tried to remember. "If I'm not mistaken, he did visit the office a few days ago. He mentioned that he will be out of the country for a couple of days."

"I knew it!" 

"What's wrong?" Delilah asked, looking confused. 

"It's like this…" 

Amy began to tell Delilah about what has been happening in the other branch. The things that she told her made Delilah's eyebrows raise in surprise.
