Murakami: And they're left with a bunch of abstract and vague advice that they have no idea how to implement.

Reili: If they don't enjoy it, the feedback won't be as insightful.

Zenith: They can learn from their mistakes from reading their own works.

Zenith: If possible, from platforms.

Murakami: If they knew how to do that they'd fix it and publish it.

Reili: It would make the process easier if someone who enjoys the book to give them better feedback.

Zenith: It's called rewriting from scratch, and it takes a tonne of time if the author feels more interested in some other idea of his, he would do that.

Reili: I suppose so since the author being inspired will bring his book along.

VKBoy: If the ones giving review are professional editors, then they don't necessarily have to have read your work with immersion because their suggestions will still likely cover the basic flaws that amateurish writers usually make.

Reili: Point taken.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: @VKBoy if they spot those errors they'll put down the manuscript after the first page

Reili: Then again, its a little bit like movie critics. They may hate the movie, but fans love it.

Zenith: Professionals in the said field prefer not taking risks. Especially in movies, but books, you can keep trying.

Author's Notes

I'm sure you've read this a few times in the previous chapters, but I had been reading MTL chapters for the past few years. I usually read "Completed" stories, and most of them are around 2-4k chapters each. Of course, I read the translated chapters first. After I reach the latest translated chapter, I will immediately jump to *cough* Google Translate.

Yeah~ I know. Reading chapters through Google Translate was the most…epic mistake I did in the past. I've finished World Defying Dan God, Battle Through the Heavens uhh…and a few more novels using Google Translate.

In the later years, I discovered lnmtl.com, which gave me a better translation (at least the names of the characters are not written like Cloud Che instead of Yun Che (Against the Gods). 

To be perfectly honest, If I didn't start writing, I would have continued to read these machine translated chapters even now. Reading MTL works if English is not your first language.

This is something that those with English as their main language will scoff at. However, for those who just want to read. As in reading something without worrying about anything else, then they won't care even if it's a machine translated chapter. As long as they will be able to read the NEXT chapter, then it's all good.

This is also the reason why I admire translators. If not for them, these stories that we are not aware of will not be able to grace us with their presence. I would like to thank the translators of my favorite novels like Lord of Mysteries, Release that Witch, Against the Gods, Cultivation Chatgroup, Second Coming of Avarice, and so many other titles that I won't be able to list here.

To my beloved readers, if there will come a time when you feel like writing a story of your own and you're reading machine translated chapters, please stop now. I'm saying this for your own good. 

I understand how you feel. Believe me I do, but for the sake of the story you're going to write in the future, heed my advice. Stop now, while you still have the chance. Learning how to write from scratch with broken English is a painful process.

Then again, if you find an editor who is a masochist, consider yourself lucky. Let them clean up your mess for you, so you can focus on writing your story, and learn the art of writing while you write.

Some argue that various works by authors that do not meet the requirement of fine grammar and spelling are rubbish. Here, each person has his own opinion, and let him stick to it and impose his opinion on others as the ultimate truth, it speaks only of ignorance of life. It is diverse.

I didn't read Dostoevsky, I didn't like him. But Azek Azimov, Ursuda Le Guin, Tolkien, Kipling, Conandoyle, Louis Besenar and others I read with pleasure. Li Bo, the poetry is gorgeous. Novels of feudal and late feudal China, Japan, Korea. Novels and novels by Chinese prose writers of the early 20s and 80-90s of the 20th century.

In general, I read about 10,000 books. Fiction, fantasy, poetry, historical novels, ballads, myths and legends.

After that I became interested in reading historical documentaries - about the history of the Silk Road, Archeology, History, Ethnography, Etymology, the Big Game, the story of the confrontation of imperial intelligence in the vast regions of the Silk Road.

I read about 550 books, from the 16th to the beginning of the 21st century.

I have some kind of base for evaluating short stories and novels.

Sometimes works written flawlessly in terms of grammar, alas ... they are completely devoid of meaning, they are not interesting, they do not have fascinating stories, conclusions, experience, thoughts. But work with poor grammar, on the contrary, have unique information. Of course, not all works, but there are some.

I am the author myself. But not a professional writer, but a techie. I don't know much about composition, about the intricacies of writing good text. But I have a very interesting content. Is my story garbage? I do not think so? Do I respect the reader? Sure. But writing is better so far I can't. Nevertheless, I have my own circle - readers who are interested in my work. There are not hundreds or thousands of people, but a couple of dozen will be typed.

I write in the genre - a documentary historical fiction, there are many interesting facts about the Silk Road with which I wanted to share. If I were waiting for the moment when I could write well in terms of English grammar ... I would not be able to share it now ... maybe in a couple of years ... and still I would not be able to write like this they write - people from English-speaking countries. This is a favorite topic of native speakers to reproach those who learn this language in their ignorance of the intricacies of the language they learn, grammar and spelling errors ... As we say, the dog barks, the caravan goes on. That happens.

English is the world language of communication. Moreover, for me it is the third language. I speak English well, but my grammar is lame. I admit it. Yes, I need to teach her, but I don't think I can write in perfect English.

Thank you so so so much for reading my first English novel. I've been writing since I was 12, like decades ago (yeah... I'm old) and never got anything published since I was a perfectionist and my works needed research and I didn't have the means to do it back then.
I mean, how could you write about life in other countries when you never go there? I felt like a fake - that's why the only people I allowed reading my novels were my sister and a few friends whom I know would still love me no matter how weird I am in their eyes... hehehe.
Before you #coughcough Google... Well, Google and the internet weren't a thing back then (when I started writing), I didn't even have a computer. I wrote in any piece of paper I could get my hands into.
Sadly, out of maybe 100 titles I wrote for almost 20 years, 95% are gone now because my mom thought they were trash (literally) and threw them together with my old school books. It was heartbreaking because I really wanted to be a writer.
When I was young, the future seemed bleak for this poor aspiring writer from a third-world country, especially because I wrote fantasy which didn't sell well compared to contemporary. Anyway... my dream to become a writer had to take a backseat as life happened and I had to focus on making ends meet.
I have a decent job now, working as a freelancer, but I still dream to make it as a professional writer someday. I want to be able to wake up every morning and just decide that I want to write and write, and not having to think about how to put food on the table.
I am so happy to find a platform like Webnovel that allows me to publish my works, reach an audience that relates to my stories, and make some money. I am not hoping to get rich from my books, but if it could give me enough to quit my day job and focus on writing, it would mean the world to me.

No chapter today was not felling it because of the hate I got but I will try to make one Tomorrow and the reason I'm losing my drive to write is because what people don't understand is that I'm 16 years old and I'm in school so first of al I don't have a lot of time for writing but when I do make some time to write i try my best to write a good chapter but it won't turn out the best because first English is not my fist language or my second it my third so I don't know al the rules on how to write so my grammar is bad.

I'm by no means a professional writer I started writing because I saw it as a fun thing and when I dropped my first chapter and saw people liking it and commenting on it I wanted to drop more chapters for you guys but enough of my rambling I hope you have a good day and I hope you will read the chapter that is coming tomorrow.

Gun-Ho received a letter from Lymondell Dyeon in Seattle, U.S.A.
"Shoot. This is all written in English."
Gun-Ho decided to bring the letter to Attorney Young-Jin Kim who studied in America. He called Attorney Kim to check if he was available to meet.
"Attorney Kim? It's me. I will come to Seoul soon to see you. Will you be available this afternoon?"
"Yes, I will be in the office. What's up?"
"I submitted my application to participate in a joint venture with Lymondell Dyeon, and I just received a letter from them. I think I'd better discuss it with an attorney."
"Really? So you are going to do a joint venture with them."
"GH Mobile will soon move to a new location, and I will keep the current factory in Asan City. I want to start Dyeon Korea there."
"Okay. Come quick. I am really curious about what the letter says."
 
Gun-Ho took a KTX train heading to Seoul and went to Kim & Jeong Law Office located in the Gwanghwa Gate area.

Gun-Ho handed the letter which was sent by Dyeon to Attorney Kim, and Attorney Kim thoroughly read the letter.
"Well, they said your company's financial statements report that you sent to them was not quite satisfactory to their qualification requirements."
"Really? I lowered the company's debt ratio a lot, but still, it is not sufficient for them?"
"However, they said, they highly recognize the president's drive, work experience, and character, so they decided to invite you for an interview."
"Haha, really?"
"You can come for an interview in the first week of next month. And they said, before you come, they want you to contact their personnel—Angelina Rein—to arrange the specific date for the interview."
"Angelina Rein? Is it a lady?"
"Yes, it's a female name. They gave you her phone number as well."
"They said that you need to bring some photos of the factory's exterior and interior. Also, if you could bring some product samples that your factory manufactured, that would be great."

"Are you here for a business plan?"
"Yes, we are. The most important thing in writing a business plan is to grasp the gist of it. We will start by having a tour of the factory."
Gun-Ho asked for the plant manager, but he was out of the office for the moment. Gun-Ho instead asked for Jong-Suk.
"These gentlemen came here to help us write a business plan. Please guide them to the factory tour."
"Yes, sir."
Gun-Ho introduced the sales director to those people and told them that the sales director was the best person to ask about the company if they had any questions. Gun-Ho then made a call to Min-Hyeok in China.
"Min-Hyeok? It's me, Gun-Ho. We will send two gentlemen to your factory. They are from a company called Moore Investment. Please take care of them. They will need a tour of the factory."
"What is it regards to?"
"I am trying to do a joint venture with Lymondell Dyeon, and we need a business plan for it. So I asked a company to do the job. These two gentlemen are professionals from that company. Please show them around."
"Oh, I see. Sure, I will take care of it."
"If we successfully start a joint venture with Lymondell Dyeon, we will sell the Dyeon's products that would be produced from the factory here to China's market."
"Don't they want to produce it at a factory in China?"
"It seems that they don't want to have a factory in China."
"Really? Then the base camp for sales will be here, huh?"
"I think so. I will give you a stock option for those sales as well."

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

Just a heads up, I will delete all my chapters from Webnovel at the end of this month.  So hopefully, everyone who wanted to read the ending of "Change" has had a chance.  I didn't have an editor for Volume 3, so it may be choppy.

Also, I have given up on translating.  It's not that I can't write in Japanese nor English.  In fact, when I compose in both languages, I have no problems.  The biggest problem is expressing the words from one language to another.  It's an entirely different skill.

For instance, "Dakishimetai" is often translated as "want to hold" or "want to hug" in English, but in fact this Japanese word carries more meaning to it.  What is often untranslated is that it also means to "want to hold someone and protect them from their own pain, self-doubt and suffering."  Or it can attach the meaning of "wanting to hug someone and not wanting to let go."

This is why translating is so difficult.  And then the tone, the language and the way characters express themselves don't come through too well.  I know Yuki (former editor) constantly complained about Jingshu's character, where Jingshu was very whiny, while acting cute.  This was very difficult for me to translate into English.

Although, I won't translate my own work anymore, but it was certainly a learning experience.  :)  

Just also wanted to say that some things were left untranslated as I didn't know or have the word choice in English to explain it.

For clarification, Zhang Jun gave up on his promise to his father because he was shocked by Zhang Hua's revelations, which made him realize how insane his father was by the things his father did in order to continue the Zoubek bloodline.  Also, Zhang Jun rescued his sister (can't remember if I translated that part) but she and Min Beizheng end up together.  So the bloodline could directly pass down through her.

And if you haven't figured it out, Jun became a god and spent the rest of his life fulfilling Jinying's wish to be a goddess.  

People also felt Yangning's character was controversial.  On one side, there were fans who liked his character.  On the other side, were fans who hated him.  But I think the monsters in this world are not born, they are made.  And I hope I explained his story well.

Also, my transmigration story should be ready to go.  I will be posting chapter 1 on the other website.  As to why I don't post the website name here is because I don't want "that person" to steal my new story.  In all honesty, I'm not a professional writer.  And my dream isn't to become a writer.  In fact, I hate to write.

I started writing because at that time a friend of mine had broken up with her boyfriend.  She was heartbroken.  In order to fulfill her wish for a happy ending, I wrote a story about her and that exboyfriend.  As she read the development of the plot, she realized she didn't love that boy and was able to let go.  Through the story, she was able to overcome her heartbreak.

Because of that, I had always wanted to heal someone else through my stories.

The story "Change" was written for a male fan of mine, who had been cheated on by his girlfriend.  It was also the first time I wrote a story directed towards male audiences.  Usually, I write for women.

I know some fans want to know why Jingshu was raped.  The answer is because at that time I asked the male fan, "If your girlfriend hadn't cheated on purpose, but she was raped, would you have remained angry with her?"

He didn't have an answer for me.
 
As "Change" progressed, he came to see his own faults.  Everyone asked why the story characters aren't wholly good nor bad and the reason is because no one is perfectly good in real life.

That male fan of mine worked on his relationship with his girlfriend and ended up marrying her.  It has been a year since I've asked him about his relationship.  I often wonder if they are happy now?  That's why I think love, true love is forgiveness, and forgiveness is humanity's pinnacle of compassion.

I have promised myself to stop writing stories to heal others.  Instead, I want to write stories for my own enjoyment.  I guess this is because of 西瓜JUN.  Even when his fans weren't kind and yelled at him for singing certain songs, he still did what he wanted.  When I think about how strong he is, I also want to become that strong.

But I'm still very much a coward.  Someday, when I am brave, I will post on his Weibo account directly and tell him to stay strong, because if not for him my life would not be as happy today.  In other words, 西瓜JUN is the rainbow at the end of a terribly frightening thunderstorm.
