''She had an allergic reaction and that triggered her condition,'' the nurse, Denise Porter informs me. I used to visit the nurse' office all the time just so I'd skip class back when I was in Linkdale. It hasn't changed one bit: the twin beds are still at the left corner of the room, the cabinets filled with drugs are still placed on top of a sign post that says 'Linkdale High' in bold letters, and the fridge is still pretty much the same.
''Allergic reaction?'' Sophie is allergic to nuts and I packed her lunch this morning. There were no nuts in there, that's for sure.
''Her file says she's allergic to nuts, right?'' I nod. ''Her friend, Ria, brought her in and didn't say exactly what was wrong with her or how she had access to nuts.'' I glance at Sophie who is sleeping on the white bed; her face is slightly red and puffy and her hair is sprawled on the pillow.
''Ria also gave us her bag so we were able to find her medications and administered it to her. Thank you, Ria. I will advise you take her to see your family doctor, just in case there's something I'm missing.'' She says with a frown, her forehead creasing with worry.
You don't have to tell me twice.
''My mum's a nurse at St John's so I'd be taking her there immediately.'' Denise nods and hands me a piece of paper. ''Remember to show the doctor and your mum this paper. It basically sums up my observations and the drugs administered.''
''Thank you, Mrs Denise.''
''Anytime.''

Sophie will be fine.
At least that's what Dr Carlos, our family doctor at St John's hospital says. He gave her an extra layer of medication along with a very strong warning to be mindful of what she puts in her mouth. I'm still wondering how she had access to nuts in the first place but I guess I have to ask her later.
Mum almost had a panic attack when I called and told her that Sophie had allergies again. At least this time isn't too bad. The last time she had an allergic reaction was when she was 6 and was hospitalized for weeks. I was 9 at the time and I remember it being probably one of the scariest moments for our family, considering we were still trying to navigate our way through Sophie's diagnosis of Type A Sephiligitis. Sadly, there's no cure yet but there are medications she has to use for the rest of her life in order to lessen the symptoms.
''Mel, do you want me to order pizza or Chinese?'' Mum asks from the kitchen. She got off work early after the whole Sophie fiasco and I'm guessing she doesn't want to cook anything.
''Chinese please.''
''Coming right up.''
I face the TV with a frown on my face. I really should be reading right now considering our test is next week but I can't bring myself to actually focus. There's a lot of things going on in my head right now: Jason, Sophie, most especially Sophie and then Jason.
Why did he try to kiss me that night?
''What's on your mind, sweetie?'' Mum joins me on the couch wearing her night robe with a cup of green tea in her hands. How she can even stomach that drink or 'detox water' as she calls it is beyond me. I've only tasted it once and I almost puked in my mouth-it has no flavour whatsoever and tastes like…herbs.
I'd just stick to my Pepsi and Lemonade.
''Nothing much,'' I deflect. ''Just school stuff.'' And Jason. ''Tests are coming up real soon and I need to start studying.''
''Ah, I see,'' she nods in understanding and takes a sip of her tea. ''Don't worry, you'll be fine. You're a hard worker so I know you'll pull through.'' She searches my face. ''Are you sure that's all that's bothering you? I'm your mum so you know you can tell me anything.''
I smile a little. ''I'm fine mum, don't worry.'' Liar.
''You know you've never been the best of liars, Melody Lianna Jones.'' Uh Oh, she pulls out the full name. ''I birthed you so I know you better than you know yourself. If it's your sister's issue that's bothering you, then stop worrying. Like Dr Carlos said, Sophie will be fine and just needs to be mindful of what she eats.''
I nod. ''Speaking of mindful, how did she get nuts in the first place? We don't keep nuts in the house.'' Ever since Sophie had her first allergic reaction that got her hospitalized, Mum's had this 'war against nuts' thing going on. Peanut butter, Chocolates with nuts in it, you name any 'nutty' product, we don't have it around the house. 
''I packed her lunch this morning so I don't know how she got it and the nurse didn't say much, only that her friend, Ria brought her to the nurse's office.''
''Hmm. I'll ask her about it later.'' The doorbell rings and mum jumps a bit. ''Must be the delivery man. See if you can get your sister to come down for dinner, yea?''
''Roger that.''
I trudge up the stairs and make a left for Sophie's bedroom. Knocking slightly, I enter and see that her lights are on, but she's still asleep. As usual, the purple covers are off her body and lying haphazardly on the floor while she's sleeping in a horizontal position with her pajamas on. I giggle slightly and pick up the covers. Folding it neatly, and placing it on her reading chair, I proceed to arrange her slightly messy room. I'm a neat freak, don't judge me. A couple of her fountain pens on her reading desk are knocked down to the ground, along with her school books which so happen to be scattered on the floor at the foot of her bed.
''What are you doing?'' I turn my head to an already awake Sophie who is yawning. Luckily her face is no longer swollen and has regained that brown sugar glow that she rocks effortlessly.
''Cleaning.'' I pick up the books from the floor and place them on her brown coloured desk. ''Since you don't want to.''
She narrows her eyes. ''Mum ordered Chinese for dinner so it's time to eat.''
''She jumps out of the bed and combs her hair with her hands, a bright smile prominent on her face. ''It's been so long since we actually had take out food.''
''Yea. I'm pretty shocked that Mum actually suggested it.'' Mum's been on this Keto diet or something for a while now, and when she's on a diet, Sophie and I are on a diet as well which means no take out food, no pizza and no junk food. If you check our freezer, you'd only see vegetables and fruits, and the occasional Maltesers and Kit Kat bars. Newsflash, the only reason why Sophie and I are even allowed to have those is because we promised to do house chores for a week.
It's been a tough time in the Jones' household.
''Speaking of food, I wanted to ask you something before Mum beats me to it,'' I start. ''How did you have access to nuts?''
She hangs her head low on the ground, the tiles seeming to be more interesting than my question. ''Well?'' I ask impatiently. ''Mum's waiting downstairs.''
''RiagaveittomeandIateit,'' she mumbles.
''Excuse you?''
She finally raises her head and looks at me with guilt in her eyes. ''Ria gave it to me and I ate it. It was a chocolate bar and I didn't read the label so I didn't know if it had nuts in it. It's not Ria's fault too because she didn't know that I had an allergic reaction. I'm sorry Mel and please don't tell Mum.'' she pleads.
''Apology accepted and you had Mum and I super worried because God knows what could've happened. Remember to thank your friend, Ria?'' she nods. ''Right, Ria, for me and please be careful of what you put in your mouth. For your sake.''
''Yea, because I have Type A Sephiligitis, I know,'' she says sadly. ''You know, this disease sucks and I wonder what I ever did to God to make him hate me.''
''Hey,'' I warn lightly. ''God doesn't hate you, Soph. How could he ever hate you? You're one of the sweetest people I know.'' We're not really religious or anything, but when I was younger, we used to go to church every Sunday. However everything changed once...

''We may not go to church anymore, but I know He loves you so much and that's why you're alive today. Think about the almost death experiences you've had, but here you are, talking to me.''

She gives me a hug and I hug her back. ''I love you Melly Mel.''

As is often the case, badge wearers are not very reliable. While this policeman is holding the wheel with his left hand and stroking my thigh with his right hand, I remember this Tuesday in May, the day I lost my virginity.

It's sad, but at the time, I was almost as stupid as my sister.

Yes, that day... I was 11 years old and I was returning from Middle School where my reputation had already reached the highest possible heights. It was really hot on that Spring afternoon, so to get some air, I had stuck my little summer dress in my panties.

Anyway, I was jogging happily on the sidewalk I used to take in the morning and evening, when a car stopped near me.

I knew this kind of car well and even though the two men on board were strangers to me, the fact that that they were police officers, made me feel close to them.

However, what exactly did they want from me? Amazed, I put my index finger on my pretty lips and tilted my head to the side. My long curved eyelashes flickered several times, but far from being a shy girl, I trotted to the police car.

"Hello, Mr. police officers, do you need any information to find your way back?"

As, my social worker always said: "Princess, you have to be nice to the gentlemen in police cars because they're no better than thugs."

Well, I was nice to those bastards.

Every time I crossed paths with these men in uniform, I waved my little hand to leave them a good impression of me and every time their backs were turned, I hid to insult them.

"Little girl, I can see that you really like beautiful summer dresses. You know, I have a lot of very pretty girl dresses at home, but unfortunately, I don't have anyone to give them to. Would you like to come with us to my house so I can give them to you as a gift?"

This policeman wants to give me a nice gift? That's what I told myself before I rushed into the back of the patrol car.

"I want them! I want them all! No time to lose, let's go, driver!"

The journey toward the place of my covetousness of the day was not long. In any case, it did not exceed five minutes.

The house of the one that naively I thought of as a generous policeman was not strictly speaking the house in which I would have liked to live. With its garbage-crowded garden and poorly maintained lawn, in my opinion, no sensible person would have wanted to enter it unless they were eager for pretty little summer dresses.

We walked through the front door to the sound of laughter of the police officers hitting each other on the shoulder.

[Are they so happy to fill a young girl like me with happiness?]

That's what I tell myself as I run through the house with questionable hygiene.

"Where are the pretty summer dresses, cop-man?"

He certainly didn't have a child, because he felt embarrassed when he replied, "You're very pretty, you know. Would you like to pose in front of a camera, like a real supermodel?"

Yes, it was also my first try as a model. Well, if I may say so. [How nice he is!!!!! I said to myself, applauding this very generous proposal.]

[Yeah, I was far to being a light.]

After discovering the beauty that I am, they also gave me the opportunity to make my debut in the world of fashion? In any case, that's what I thought, when the men invited me to their private studio, which looked in every respect to a bedroom.

Against all odds, my dreadful father, so so brutal with me usually, consoled me for some unknown reason.

[Finally, today, I understand the reason why.]

Without me understanding why, he grabbed his keys from the coffee table and rushed outside. I heard the car start and my scary dad didn't come back until much later in the evening.

I was already asleep when he came home. Having a beautiful complexion and pretty skin requires a good night's sleep, everyone knows that.

[I said, I was a bitch and even poor, a little bitch will do anything to be as beautiful as she can.]

However, when my horrible father opened the door to my room and disturbed my sleep, he was not alone, three policemen accompanied him.

I was really asleep. However, the questions followed one another and I had no other option but to answer them. I was still very angry with these two policemen who had not given me my pretty summer dresses, so whether asleep or not, I concentrated my little brain on trying for trace the events accurately.

The next morning, against all odds, I didn't go to school. After a gynaecological examination in the local hospital, my social worker took me to the police station where, after concentrating my brain again, I showed, the two liars who had not given me the summer dresses they had promised me.

Later, my social worker told me that what these two policemen had done was not right. That it was even really very bad. Yes, I agree, I thought. Lying to a young girl is unforgivable and I hope they will be severely punished for it.

The newspapers picked up the crazy story of dirty police officers abusing trust of naive children. One day while reading the article, I was looking at Emie: "These kids are far from being smart."

If today I understand a little more the seriousness of the situation that the naive little girl I that I was has experienced, my anger towards these two perverted liars has not diminished.

It's quite normal, I never got my little summer dresses.

"Miss, we are in front of the place where a fashion show takes place today. Is it possible that I could pick you up tonight?"

A caress on the thigh against a private driver is not very expensive.

"All right, driver! Be careful not to be late, be here at 05:00pm or I will not use your services in the future."

I was still feeling tired after the nap, but at some point I needed to start my day. I had questions but I wanted a break from the madness I now viewed the world as. I asked him to leave for a while, so I could run some errands I needed to do.
   I walked to my closet and searched for a good running errands outfit. Something cute but casual and comfy. I chose the typical jeans and sweater; it was the beginning of fall and the air was starting to get crisp. I walked downstairs and saw my little sister sitting at the dining table eating a snack. 
    "You finally decided to get out of bed sleeping beauty. You missed school today, you feeling okay? You never miss school after missing so much of it last year." She looked concerned.
   "I'm okay, I just wanted a break today. Classes were getting a little crazy."
   "I'm sure you're excited to be done, only a month more and you're out of here, going off to college and leaving this life behind."
   The topic of me leaving always made her upset. We don't have much here anymore after losing our parents to the fire a year back. It scares me too, the thought of leaving her here with our uncle. 
   "Ari, you know I would never go further than a short drive away. I'll be here every weekend at least. Focus on getting your license and maybe I'll invite you to a few parties!", I joked.
   "Where are you going? Can I come with? I don't want to be stuck alone with crazy Uncle Alec."
   I rolled my eyes, "He's not that bad, he just has his weird quirks."
    The town considers my uncle a hot nutcase to be brief. He always taking about weird voodoo, and stuff. With my sudden realization of the truth behind beings I thought were fictional, I started to wonder if he was crazy after all. I mean, if vampires exist I wouldn't be surprised what else was lurking in the dark. I reminded myself to have a conversation with him later about it. Maybe he would have some answers for me.
   "So can I join? Please Evie", she begged. 
   "I'm sorry Ari, but this is a personal errand. I won't be gone for too long I promise. When I get back we can watch your favorite show together." 
    "Well that's a deal that's hard to pass up on." She was trying to hide her excitement at the new deal she had been given. "See ya in a bit sis!"
   I grabbed my keys and walked to my car. I was headed to Cara's house for the typical Monday study session. This time, we were focusing on our upcoming history test on the Roman Empire, a subject I found interesting given my newfound knowledge. Did armies use vampires as soldiers during war? They're almost a super soldier; any side that had them definitely would have won hands down.
    While studying with Cara I found myself drifting off, thinking about the subject I just couldn't get off my mind.
    "Evelyn, I've asked you same question three times? Are you even paying attention? What is on your mind right now that's more important than this history exam we have in four days? Our college careers are on the line here." She was always the type to exaggerate the little things.
    "Sorry, I just have a lot in my mind right now and got distracted by my own thoughts."
   "What's wrong? Are you okay? Is it your parents again?"
    Whenever I spaced out people always brushed it off as me getting distracted thinking about what happened to my parents a year ago. Normally they're right, but this time it was different.
   "Yeah, sorry I was drifting off again wasn't I? I need to stop doing that or else people are going to think I'm crazy like my uncle", I said jokingly.
   "We've been friends since first grade. You know you can always talk to me. I think that's enough studying for today anyways. We've been going at it for an hour now." She seemed concerned as always about my mental well-being after it all happened. 
   "Yeah, I told my sister I wouldn't be gone too long since she's stuck with crazy Uncle Alec."
    "I mean at least he's hot, it makes the crazy a bit more bearable." She laughed.
   "This is my uncle we're talking about, that's just weird!" We both laughed at the thought.
   "Speaking of hot, how are you and Ian? You haven't talked about him every second possible like usual."
    "We're good, I guess there hasn't been anything new to tell." I was really hoping the subject wouldn't come up, I should of known better than to think I could avoid it. "I've got to go; text me our plans for tomorrow! I'm hoping you, Hailey, and I are still going shopping!"
    Her eyes lit up when I said the word 'shopping'. "You got it girl! See you later!" Her voice was just as cheery as her bubbly blond personality.
    When I got back to the house I saw Uncle Alec sitting in the living room, reading another one of his voodoo books. I decided now was as good a time as ever to ask him what he knew about vampires.
   "Hey Alec, what are you reading today?"
    He whipped his head around, surprised at the sudden voice behind him. "Oh, hey Evelyn. I'm just reading about the history of the Salem witches. Did you know that they never successfully burned a real witch, they were all tricked into believing they had." 
   "No, I didn't know that. Just out of curiosity, were you ever interested in vampires?"
   The question clearly threw him off guard. I wasn't the type to ever express interest in his hobbies. "Well yes, they're one of the most fascinating creations of nature. Why do you ask?"
    I tried to think of a reason I would ask such an odd question. "There was some talk about it in history class today, and how fear of them led to control over early civilizations." I hoped that was a convincing enough reason.
   "Well of course people were scared, and based of lore they should be", he said.
    "What do you know about them?"
    "This is the first time I've seen you express an interest in my hobbies! Well there's the stereotypical lore such as their need for blood and their ability to cheat death. However, legends tell different stories about them in each culture. Some say they look like the undead, others say you could never tell a vampire from a human. But, all the legends agree on one thing, their blood lust is what drives them, they're monsters who feed to kill and don't care about who or what they destroy along the way."
    "What do you believe?", I asked.
    "Well if they are real, they must have to blend in with us. So I would speculate they are undistinguishable from humans, hiding in the shadows. Waiting to attack their unknowing victims."
     I nodded my head, acknowledging his statement. "Well I promised Ari I'd watch her favorite show with her when I got back. I don't want to keep her waiting. As usual, yell if you need anything."
    Alec nodded and I started to walk up the stairs to watch 'Pretty Little Liars' for the hundredth time. Ian didn't seem like the monster that the myths described. Was that the trick? Is that how they have been hidden for hundreds of years without detection? Either way, they're real and what I believed was myths and lore is reality. I needed to know more about them, but for now, it was time for some quality sister time.

Evelyn, your typical high school girl, finds out about the monsters hidden in the shadows. Death, love, fear and adventure is where this new discovery is taking her. Will she be able to handle it?

Max made it in after talking with Takamichi for a bit. Just basic catch up and how things were going. Entering the dean's office was interesting enough. 

Several protection spells were in place. Some really weak, some powerful enough to do some damage. Mac pinpointed the weakness of the most dangerous first. The old Dean looking at him the entire time.

'Hoho what powerful magic. This is not disguise either. Did he speed up his own growth perhaps?' The Dean walked over and gave him another look over. 

"Headmaster, please tell me this is a joke." Asuna said depressed. "This has to be a mistake."

"If you wish, but it would be a lying child." He turned back to Max, "your teaching post will be quite the challenge in your training."

"If they are willing to learn, I am willing to teach." Max said calmly. He made no other statement.

"Very well. You will student teach until March.." seeing his grandaughter fidget a little he thought the wrong thing. "If you are looking for a girlfriend, my grandaughter is available."

*Whack!* Konoka hit him over the head with what looked to be a small gavel.

"Thanks loads grandpa., but he is to old."

"Yeah, and she is way to young and gay." Max shook his head at the nonsense. The dean may know him to be 10 but Max would not act that way in the least. As for ousting the girl, the old man somewhat new. he would not participate in covering her shit up. "I am pretty sure most of her class suspects. So better to approve of them before they get hurt."

"Ehhh." Asuna looked back and forth at the tense atmosphere. To break the tension she spoke up rashly. "Headmaster, he is a perv and.."

"Smack!* Max hit her in front of the dean. 

"I warned you brat. Next time, I am busting that lip. Accusations do not go un punish." Mas said sternly. His eyes, however, were on one of the magical protections. It started to activate when he hit her. "Humph!"

*Bzzt!* With a snort, it was disabled. He ripped apart the magic inside taking it for his own.

"Ehem, that is not for you to decide Asuna. And you should stay your hand,. You are now a teacher of this academy." The Dean said clearing his throat. "Negi, if you fail your training no second chances. is that clear?"

"Crystal."

"Ha, we'll start you off today. Your advisor will be little Shizuna." The dean said affectionately. " little Shizuna are you there?"

"Yes sir." A lovely voice came from outside in the hall. She came in holding a portfolio. "Hello, you must be the famed Negi. A lot taller than they said you would be."

"People get things wrong all the time." Max extended his hand for a shake. She took it gently with a small squeeze. "Pleasure to meet you."

"Any questions?" Max shook no. "I think you will need better arrangements for sleeping however."

"Yes.. originally due to short space, you would have bunked with Asuna and Kodoka. That is extremely inappropriate now that I think about it." The dean said embarrassed.

"Yeah.. would have been appropriate no matter what. I can take care of my own housing do not worry about it." Max waved them off as he left the office. 

"Only place for a creep like that would have been the couch." Asuna barked. she stomped off dragging Kodoka with her.

"Bit of a little bitch, defintely that attitude of a shitty princess." Max shook his head side to side. "She keeps it up and she will die early like the rest of her family did." The dean shook a little at that. Max reached back closing the door. "Later dean."

"You will get use to her. We all did." Shizuna said. She was slightly uncomfortable about what Max said. But tucked it away for later. She put the portfolio in his hand. "This is your student list. From the way you act, I doubt you are worried about your class."

"Nope. They are a bunch of preteens. No matter what they will change over time. If not, well that is for their parents to deal with and the people who are forced to deal with them." Max opened the door to the mayhem. An eraser landed in front of him. "Oh boy, and they say girls are easier to rear than boys. I call horseshit."

The young teens were all over the classroom. Some eating some planning pranks. A girl was showing the inner works of a camera. Three were reading books. One was meditating with a sword on her shoulder.

Max flipped through the portfolio reading the name's over. A total of 33 girls. Some normal some freaking just eh. Such a shame that had to deal with the craziness. 

"Alright, who ever put this up come and clean it up. If you do not, well everyone gets punished." Max stepped over it and moved to the desk. Completely missing the traps in place. "Clean all the defacement to school property to."

"Is that guy really our teacher?" Makie Sasaki asked. She was part of the gymnastics club and a very friendly girl.

"Alright everyone, you heard him. Clean this up." Shizuna said. Two girls who were almost identical got up. The only difference was the hair styles. The older sister Fuka Narutaki was part of the go-home club. The younger sister Fumika Narutaki was a part of that club and School Decor Club.

Max wrote on the board his name. But his put Max in the front and underlined it three times. This confused the lot of them. Once the area was cleaned and the traps removed he sat on top of the desk facing them.

"Alright, I will be your English Professor Instructor for the third Semester, I look forward to watching you learn what I teach you." Max said calmly. He hiked his thumb over his shoulder. "Call me Max or Maxmillion. Negi Springfield just sounds stuffy. You can call me Mr.Max if that makes you feel better. The reason is because in the real world, not everyone goes around shouting teacher this and teacher that. You are on the path to adulthood.   Consider this the first time someone is treating you like adults. If only in the classroom. I have no control on what you do out there."

"That is.. well I guess you are right. It is your class." Shizuna said.

"We can do introductions or.. start class. You do not have to say anything if you do not want to. I know your names already and a small amount about you from the way you all acted before class started." Max roamed over a few students. He stopped on the ghost, the robot, then the vampire. "Haa such weirdness in the class." His smile made a few of the older girls blush. "I like a lot of things, ranging from guns, swords, old books, new books, photography, scenery, food, agriculture, various forms of martial arts, and various forms of action."

"I hear you are an Oxford educated Genius." The class representative said. Her name was Ayaka Yukihiro. Part of the Horse club, and Flower arrangement club. "It surely makes him well qualified to teach us. Unlike what someone said, he seems nice enough."

"It is better to draw opinions for yourself." Max said stopping Asuna from lashing out. "Your eyes and ears are the best at judging. Word of mouth always contains a little grain of truth."

"If their is nothing else, I guess we should skip introductions for a later date or when the students have time." Shizuna advised. Max hopped off the desk at face the students.

"Alright from where you left off before break." Max looked over the portfolio again shaking his head. He started speaking about the previous content to freshen their memories. Slowly he wrote about the current chapter that corresponded with that to link them.

"That is it for today. Class dismissed. be careful on whatever you are doing when getting out of class. Patience goes a long way." Max said. A few students around coying things from off the board. "Hmm?"

Takamichi came over to check things out. 

"How went your first class Negi?"

"So so, and call me Max. The name Negi sounds eh. Consider it a nickname of sorts." Max finished writing a few more things on the board based on the student's murmurs. Asuna already turned to talk with Takamichi. The man looked a little out of sorts. "You, come here." He was pointing to the ghost. Sayo Aizaka.

"Yes." She asked timidly.

"You look a little peckish." Max grabbed her wrist channeling a little mana into her. His eyes never left her own. "Try these exercises to increase your blood flow. We can not have you acting like a little ghost now can we?"

"Right!" Sayo said happily. Feeling her self turn solid was a new old experience. "Thank you."

"Make sure you eat and come to class tomorrow with the correct uniform. I am lenient but not that lenient. Go and talk to the dean for better accommodations." Max moved away. A few students in the know thought it weird she never acted that way before. "Hmm." Max felt one of the students was in danger. A small spell took care of that.

"The student Zazie Rainyd, would like to speak with you." The tan-skinned girl introduced herself. The teardrop tribal tattoo? was something else Max thought. Her light hair did wonders for her complexion.

A lot of the students cleared the classroom. Takimichi was still held up by Asuna.

"You wish to know magic I take it?" Max said lowly. He would not pretend with the child of course. "I have strict rules that must be followed. I suggest you think things over." She gave a nod understanding some things. Zazie left in a hurry to inform her partner. "Oh, waking up little half ninja?" 

"I do not know what you mean Teacher?" Kaede Nagase asked. Her eyes were in slits almost closed. She was a very tall girl but also kind. Which was weird since she wanted to be a ninja. She was part of the Walking Home Club. 

"I dislike liars. But acting coy is a different matter I suppose." Max focused his killing intent directly on the girl. Just a little bit though. "Child of the  Koga-ryū  clan, I can show you ninja techniques that would make you clan shiver."

"Ughhh!" Kaede groaned. Cold sweat running down her body. "I do.. not know.. what you are talking about." she struggled before Max removed his intent. "Haaa!"

"You ok Kaede?" Mana Tatsumiya asked. She was another tall girl but a mix of Japanese-Puerto Rican. Her magic comes from her half-demon blood and another source. She received a small shake and walked to the front of the class. "You are something else."

"So are you.. Arkana. When you are done with the uncertain missions as a merc, I have a long term one for you." The girl nodded and left the classroom. 'Ah, no bites so far. What an interesting class."

"Ok, now that is settled, care to go out for a bit?" Takimichi asked.

"No. Going to get place. You should have a walk with what is her name.. Shizuna. You would make a good couple." Max walked out hands in his pocket. Takimichi stood there mouth agape. 'Hmm, where to go? An apartment or a large place close to the academy?'

Not to far away, a robot was looking at him. Following his moves closely through the building. It was Chachamaru Rakuso. She was part of the Tea ceremony club and Go Home club. Very easily pointed out by the attachment to her face. Receivers for all sorts of things.

In the dean's office, he just finish talking to the Magus about the change in Negi when his door opened.

"Hmm?" He turned to see Sayo Aizaka. Hearing her out of breath shocked him. "You are alive!?" 

"Yes!" Sayo said catching her breath.

His death is never the end. For he is an Eternal Reincarnator. Sentence to continue move on no matter what.

The next World he ended up in, however, has a few things he will not deal with. What is he to do?

Nothing. Mind his own business while he tries to salvage what he can and protect a few things. But a slight problem as he was not given a new place in history as normal.

This time he reincarnates as a main character.
Family means nothing as he does not know them himself. If they leave him be, he will leave them be as he recovers to leave. Memory serves that Earth itself has small problems from foolish organizations. 

For these mages carry a very large threat, he will kill them and destroy their souls no matter what the others think.

Hailey's P.O.V
       It was Friday which meant the weekend and no school for two days...yeah. 
       "Sweetie, are you sure you don't wanna come with us?" My dad asked, sitting his and my mother's bags at the front door.
       "Honestly, daddy, I will be okay here. You and mom work hard. You both deserve this break. Layla is going to come and stay with me." I smiled at him.
       I was always such a daddy's girl. I have been since I was a little girl still in diapers.
       "Well, when we get back, the three of us can go grab some dinner and a movie or something." He said, hugging me.
       "Sounds good. You two have fun, not too much fun though." I laughed hugging him back.
        My mom soon came down, and we said our goodbyes too.
       "I have put money in your account in case you need it. I love you." My mom said, hugging me.
       "Love you both too, now go. I will be fine. I will call you both tomorrow." I said.
       They laughed, giving me one last hug before getting on the road. My parents were heading out of town for a couple of days. I could have gone with them, but I decided to let them have some time to themselves. Layla and I had planned a girls' night. No guys allowed since we had been spending a lot of time with Avery and Mason in the last couple of days. They had other plans tonight anyway which meant we would get peace from them. I headed into the kitchen to make myself a snack to keep me going until dinner. As I was doing this, my phone beeped, telling me I had a text. I grabbed my phone, looking at it and smiling when I see it was from Avery.

       Avery: Hey kitten, you missing me yet? ;)
       Hailey: Not in the slightest. I have seen you enough for the last five days to do me a lifetime.
       Avery: Well, you are gonna be extremely disappointed then, aren't you?
       Hailey: How do you work that one out? 
       Avery: You will have to wait and see. See you soon, baby girl.

       What is he up too? I decided to ignore him, sitting my phone down. Layla was soon to walk in, duffle bag in hand to do her over the weekend while she was staying with me. 
       "Hey! I am making snacks, you want anything?" I asked.
       "Hey. No, I am fine. I ate before I came here." She smiled, dumping her bag down and helping herself to a drink from the fridge, the same way she always has done. She is allowed and is considered part of the family.
       I was looking forward to some girl time, some girl talk. We have not had much of it since the guys are always hanging around which we do not mind, but sometimes you need a little space from people. I grabbed my snack and a drink. The two of us heading into the living room to binge-watch Pretty Little Liars. I was not sure what was going on with Layla and Mason, so I thought this would be an excellent time to ask and find out.
       "Layla, what is going on with you and Mason?" I asked, looking at her.
       As soon as I mentioned it, she blushed, getting a little giddy. I think my best friend may be smitten with him.
       "Not exactly sure. We have been hanging out as you know, texting and talking on the phone until stupid times in the morning. Nothing has been made official, but I like him, and he said he likes me too, time will tell I guess." She smiled.
       "Aw, how cute," I said, clapping my hands excited for her.

       Layla has never dated or had a boyfriend. She only ever kissed one person. Well, two now including Mason so I was happy for her. I was hoping she does not end up with her heartbroken or Mason will have no manhood left because I will cut it right off if he hurts her or pressures her into anything, she is not ready to do.
       "Shut up." She blushed, pushing me and making me laugh. "Put the show on." She added laughing.
       "Fine! Fine! You still wanna go to the party tomorrow?" I asked, hitting the play button on the remote.
       "Yes, I am still up for it. Are you?" Layla asked.
       "I guess, a little nervous. I know what Avery and his friends can be like, I don't wanna get into trouble." I said shrugging. 
       "I am nervous about it too. We are sensible girls; I'm sure we will be alright." She said, smiling.
       I was hoping she was right. I do not know how much we would fit in with everyone at the party. As long as Avery and Mason stay close by then, hopefully, it will be okay.
       "You and Avery, still "friends?" She smirked at me.
       "Yes, that is all we are and probably ever will be. That is okay though." I smiled.
       "You sure about that? Hailey, I know you like him, even if you will never admit it especially to him." She giggled.
       "Do not." I huffed.
       "Do too. You know I can see right through you Hailey." She said smugly.
       She was right; I could never lie to her because she can see right through me. I stuck my tongue out at her, turning back to the TV and not saying another word about it. Thankfully, she left it there, for now anyway.

       It was eleven pm, Layla and I were now in our pajamas, eating ice cream and still watching Pretty Little Liars. It has been a good night, chatting, laughing, and eating everything wrong for us. Both were relaxed, enjoying the night.
       "HI! DID YOU, MISS US?" We heard someone shout, making us jump.
       Avery and Mason appeared in the living room, smirking at us, and walking straight into my house. Why did I not lock the front door? 
       "What are you two doing here? I thought we had peace for the night." I glared at them.
       "I did tell you I would see you soon, kitten, didn't I?" Avery winked, coming over to us and Mason behind him.
       I thought they had plans tonight. Mason went straight over to Layla, kissing her sweetly.
       "Hey, cupcake." He winked at her, making her full face turn red, Avery chuckling.
       "Hi." She whispered out which then made me laugh.
       I turned my attention back to Avery, who was now only a couple of inches away from me. A smug look on his face. I wanted to lean in and slap the smug look off his face.
       "I thought you two had plans. Why did you come here ruining our girls' night?" I pouted.
       "Because I missed you kitten." He winked at me, heading over, and throwing himself on the sofa next to Layla and Mason.
       I shook my head, laughing before making my way over too. As soon as I was close enough, he grabbed me, pulling me onto his lap, making me squeal a little. Everyone finding it funny. I turned to him, going to be mad at him but failed when I saw him with the dorkiest smile playing on his lips. I shook my head, slapping his chest, giggling.
       "You seriously watch some crap Hailey, do you know that?" He said, staring at me.
       "Pretty Little Liars is awesome, shut up." I huffed at him.
       "You are such a girl. You two want a drink?" He asked, pointing to a bag at the front door.
       "No thanks." I said, shaking my head.
       "Do you mind if we do?" Avery asked.
       "No, that is fine, you can both drink if you like." I said shrugging.
       I do not mind as long as they do not make a mess or steal any drink from my parents. Avery grabbed the bag, pulling a liter bottle of vodka out of the bag, smirking. Does he honestly need that much? I shook my head, chuckling at him.
       "Glasses?" He asked.
       "Kitchen. I will get you some." I smiled, climbing off his lap.
       "I will have one please." I heard Layla call from behind me.
       "What? Since when do you drink?" I asked, raising my brow.
       "One can't do any harm." She giggled.
       I laughed, heading into the kitchen, Avery following behind me.
       "Come on, have a drink with us." He teased as I grabbed some glasses.
       One drink could not do any harm, could it? I decided to go for it, got to try everything once after all. I reached in grabbing a fourth glass for myself, I turned around, Avery standing looking at me proudly.
       "That's a girl." He winked, making me giggle.
       I went to head back into the living room. Avery soon stopped me. He grabbed the glasses from my hand, sitting them down on the table before reaching over for me, pulling me into him. His hands were moving down to my ass.
       "Can I help you?" I asked, raising my brow.
       "Yes, I want a kiss. I have not had one from you in a couple of days. I've missed those lips." He said, brushing my lips with his, making me swallow hard.
       He was right, though; we have not kissed in a couple of days. I was kind of missing his lips too, but he doesn't need to know that.
       "Who said I want a kiss from you?" I smirked.
       "You don't need to say Hailey. I know you want a kiss from me." He said smugly. 
       I went to protest, but before I could his lips pressed against mine. I instantly kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck, whimpering into his lips. He smirked into the kiss. His hands then trailed over my backside, moving downwards, gripping onto my thighs. I soon felt my feet coming off the floor as he lifted me up, gripping my thighs firmly, holding me steady. He propped me up on the kitchen counter, standing between my legs not breaking the kiss once. I let my hands trail down his back, grabbing his ass and pulling his body tight against mine. I moaned loudly as my heart started racing as his fingertips traced over my thighs. I was beginning to get a little breathless, stupid hormones.
       Both of us pulled apart, needing to catch our breath. His lips moved from mine, going now to the skin of my neck. His lips was soft trailing over my neck. I moaned loudly, my head falling back. What am I doing? I was not thinking straight; that is one thing I was certain about. I wrapped my fingers in his hair as he went on with exploring my neck, nipping on it from time to time. After a few minutes, he pulled away, seeming a little breathless himself.
       "Yes, I need to stop, I think." He growled out, "because if I don't, then I will end up pushing my luck with you." He said, looking at me.
       I nodded, breathing heavily. He helped me down from the counter, and we made our way back to the living room, Avery giving my ass a quick slap as I walked by, making my yelp. I turned to glare at him. He winked at me like always.
       "Time to get wasted." He said, sitting the glasses down on the table, putting some vodka in them. 
       Mason and Avery were drinking it like it was water. I was a little hesitant. Layla too but she closed her eyes, downing the glass like the guys did, screwing her face up for a moment. The three of them looked at me, brows raised. I rolled my eyes at them, picking my glass up and doing the same. I felt a burn in my throat as it slid down. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, but I still found myself screwing up my face at the new taste.
       "Another?" Mason asked.
       I stupidly nodded, so did Layla. Oh dear, this night could end in disaster after all.

Avery Freeman, the new bad boy in school is your typical bad boy. He has trouble written all over him. With his dark eyes, dark facial expression, black clothing, I knew I should stay away from him but he had other ideas in store. From the day he started at my school he had his eye on me, he decided I was not getting away that easy. I should run, right? Wrong, he came at the right time. He appeared when everything else at school was falling apart.

Maybe it is true when they say never judge a book by its cover, I learned that when he showed up. Who knew when everyone else was making my life a living hell, the bad boy would be the one to protect me from it all?

Then again, life ain't ever that easy. He is the bad boy at the end of the day, and sometimes they just don’t change.

Oh my god, Marissa's lips are so soft! How could I have waited so long to do this? This is the girl is driving me crazy. She hasn't pushed me back that's how I know she's okay with this. She's even kissing me back. Her tongue isn't as strong as mine but I let her have access in my mouth. I let move her tongue around mine trying to gain dominance.

My hands were sliding down her PJ bottoms and I could already feel her warm smooth skin under my touch. She moaned in my mouth and moved an inch away to catch her breath. She was gorgeous with her pink blushed face. I wanted to kiss her again but then someone's coughing grabbed my attention.

"Uh well, that was interesting... Let's move on to the next thing. Ash?"

I now noticed the some shocked, some nervous looks on the girls' faces, even Alice looked like she was lost.

I can't believe this. I completely forgot about the girls and started making out with Marissa. How could I have been so blind? Christ. I'm trying to get the girl to warm up to me not begin horrible rumours and isolate her even more or even worst ruin my high school life. Any sane person would know not to make out with a girl in front of your friends.

I let out a nervous laugh and slid Marissa lightly next to me. I took a nervous gulp before putting on a fake smile I hoped the girls bought and stood up.

"So looks like Marissa's not all that bad at this game right? Heh."

Nervous laughs were brought on and an awkward silence was replaced instead. Okay, this definitely needs a change.

"Um let's watch a film now. I'm kinda tired."

Everyone seemed to agree with that. I was going to ask Marissa to go with me to the attic to get a film but Alice interrupted.

"Why don't you get the film? You already know where they are, we'll get ready here. Come on Marissa."

She grabbed Marissa's hand and went over to a large TV that was on wheels. I felt slightly jealous when Alice held her and but I had to remind myself not to feel this way. Moments ago I was making out with her and potentially outed myself. I really need to speak with her and the girls.

I really shouldn't have drunk so much, I'm still light-headed and I don't doubt myself on doing something more stupid.

I sighed and made my way to the attic taking one last look back at the girls and at Marissa. They didn't look like they were going to bomb hell with questions or anything so I guess I shouldn't worry. But what do you when you accidentally show your friend whom which are straight, that you are gay? I'm not ready to deal with that and I don't want to pull Marissa into something like that.

Looking through the DVDs I didn't find any film I wanted to watch but then I noticed there were TV series' here too. I even found Pretty Little Liars and I didn't know it was out on DVD. I really wanna watch this I wonder if the girls would mind. Oh, what the hell, doesn't matter they're kinda drunk anyways.

I went back into the room and found the girls chatting, nothing seemed out of the ordinary so I put the DVD on and went over to sit next to Marissa.

"Hey, Marissa I didn't know you had the Pretty Little Liars series on DVD."

Marissa didn't up at me but took a bowl of popcorn and leaned back under a blanket.

"Oh yeah, Dad's always getting stuff on DVD he wants me to watch. Apparently I'm missing a lot that girls are supposed to watch. I don't really get it. What's it about?"

"It's kind of a thriller. It's got the gossip, romance then there's the mystery. You'll love it."

"Oh, I know this. My little sister watches it. I only saw the first episode with her didn't have time to see the other episodes." Said Rachel.

The DVD was in and the girls were relaxed, me and Marissa included. I don't know about the make-out scene being forgotten but looks like we're safe for now. It's more calmer now.

I put my arm around Marissa's waist pulling her into me while we leaned back. She wouldn't look me in the face but I guess I don't blame her. I shouldn't even be holding her but I can't stop myself from being selfish.

After about 5 episodes it was getting late and I was feeling sleepy. I think some of the girls might have even fallen asleep. Marissa seemed like she might be out in any second but she still had her cute watery blue eyes open watching the screen.

I smiled and moved my head into her neck getting a whiff of her sweet scent.

"Do you like it?" I whispered in her neck feeling her shiver against my breath.

She finally looked me in the face with a shocked expression. After a few seconds, she answered.

"Oh the series, yeah it's not that bad. I think 'A' is more than one person if you ask me." She whispered back.

"Oh yeah? And why do you say that?"

"Because I'm smart."

I chuckled and leaned on her shoulder enjoying the warmth of her body. The girls didn't seem to be aware of us thankfully since we were whispering.

"I'm sorry about before. If I made you uncomfortable I-"

"It's okay it was my dare remember? Now shush I wanna finish watching this."

I smiled again and leaned into her getting comfortable. I pulled her legs on top of me letting her lean back on me as we both looked at the screen. It felt great being so close to her cuddling like this.

I guess I nearly forgot how great cuddling was.

Marie made sure i had sleepless nights from her terrific stories. She was a story legendary who had won many awards of parents gratitude on her focus. Focus is what she believed in and truly what she wanted she got. Though i, Mario did not have the interest. A day could pass, that truly we spent it pretty well with Marie and she could not dare terrify me. But when nights reached, the house was on fire as fear is all that banged my head. I had no options of resisting because if i resisted she being good in drama too could literally fear me up. This evening too was a no difference from the others and Marie was the same being i had known. Fiction took the better of me the whole night and sure it was a task that has no solution. Fighting between reality and fiction became a trouble and since i was all alone in the spacious bedroom, i had several nights in one night. Nightmares had always been my worst and it reminded me of when i was barely ten that i could sleep next to mommy when the nights became long. But i misused this opportunity by forging on all nights and as soon as mommy realized this, i was sent out of the bedroom and that's when i started learning on how to fight between my thoughts, emotions and truth. But barely had i resumed to well when this tormenting legendary Marie popped in. We were in two opposite bedrooms that were separated by a cardboard, that she could beat all night, make sure i scream to my loudest then tell me enjoy your night favourite sister. A sisterhood that i never knew either its origin or its end or its basis. Maybe it was forced by my mommy to give me company because sincerely bearing one kid in a many roomed house had gotten out of hand, and she had also become tired of my words that she became common to like"mommy a beast is after me, am scared of dark and when she opens the lights, mommy am terrified of lights. "Though in other days i just created a scene not to mean it. Talking of who i could punish best when given the opportunity to was Marie because that bitch had made my life real miserable and i hated miseries. She had made me loose interest in watching my likes like reality shows, Bollywood movies because she made fun of all this but what could i do? In case it was to be done to what capacity was i to make it? Though at some times she taught me ways on how to deal with the unfair world with herself being an example that the world had left behind. She always claimed that she learnt all by her own with none by her side at the same time claiming that she is a daughter to my mommy in short our first born, what a paradox! On asking she always said that yes she was but her habits made her move out of home, driving a point that her absentia was a punishment. But all that while? What i sweet lie i thought from mommy but time could tell all. Time tells and time counts in any situation that we pertake and the same time taught me that it discloses things, what i just added to it was patience. Thus reminding me of my grandpa who said that patience made him get a good wife that is my grandma though i really never saw it fruits but it was such a happy marriage. Looking at persons in their late sixty's handling themselves as if they were lovebirds in early teens. -Incredible! But again time turned all when grandpa turned to be a cheat at his late sixty's, socializing with women at late thirty's  and early forty's what i never thought of but life made me see this maybe with it's  own reasons. An habit that made grandma run away from our family trait. She cut off herself maybe still in the process of changing her surname , that to be left aside. But Marie's foundation is what troubled me, where she came from, at least if i knew her identity i could be good to understand all that were happening. Deep down some voice told me she was a fruit of my mommy then again deep down something told me that mommy had been very close to me and she could hide nothing from me. What a dilemma. I am 19 and Marie claims to be 21, two years ahead of mine but i cant guess what happened in her seventeen years because that is when she officially moved in with us but the most  interesting part is that i never heard mommy talk about her, maybe she kept it folded because i was a parrot, i could write and that could feature in my writings and sure the power of a pen, OMG. She could have gone viral in spans of some good time, but none loves shame. Marie was smarter than i Mario and for that she was such a superstar but its to be noted that i always act smart to people who are smarter than i think for sometime, i learn their tactics be smarter than them, and they become of past because they have to accept defeat and i have to give some thank you notes because i enjoyed their game that they never managed to up it up. Internet became a friend to me, and what i frequently googled was how to act smarter, catch liars and how to get truth from a cheat. I had been innocent for some long time and my innocence created a grave inside me and my burial was awaiting but now i was out full force to hell with the grave and burial because furthermore i was never destined to failures what i had justifications about. But in all my research what i did away with was power of the pen and cursed my hands never to write anything i could find out as true or false in the investigations of my mommy's and her "first born daughter-Marie", never was i to. But after all this, i had to summon  my mommy and at least nail her to know some little truth as a matter of fact
