The next few hours weren't pleasant. At some point whilst I was out cold, id been carried home, changed into pyjamas and placed in my bed.  Two healers got to work expelling the water from my lungs and purifying my blood due to the herbs and essential oils id inhaled. I basically spent the next two hours throwing up. This was followed by an appearance from Taavi.  He approached my bed with a steaming mug in hand. I couldn't identify its contents through smell but there was defiantly an array of herbs included in the mix. "No more herbs please, if I never see an herb again it would be too soon". I weakly groaned. Taavi chuckled; he sat the mug down on the bedside table next to me. He placed a hand under my upper arm and pulled me, helping me to take an upright sitting position.
"This is broth, trust me, you want to drink it." He smiled encouragingly and handed me the mug. I looked into its depths. It was a golden colour with various herbs floating around. I could identify a few of them such as thyme and rosemary but I was unsure of the rest.
"One more thing, drink it all at once." Taavi added before leaving the room. I contemplated the liquid for a few seconds before placing the mug to my lips. I began to drink; it had the most peculiar taste. It tasted like the day I first mastered a protection spell, like the joy I feel when I see a sunflower. It tasted like my favourite book and the first time I was allowed to take part in a ritual. I gulped it down in seconds, realising I was hungry. I was sad to have finished it. The broth had warmed my bones. My limbs tingled with energy, my stomach was satisfied and I suddenly felt as if id slept for weeks. Taavi's head popped round the door.
"Just checking in, you finished?"
"That was amazing! What's in it?" I questioned, hoping for the recipe.
"Ahh, trade secret." He winked at me. "You should be fine to move about now; everyone's waiting for you in the living room." He trotted off again.
I pulled back the sheets and turned my body so my legs dangled off the side of the bed. I slowly leant forward, carefully putting weight on to my feet, convinced my legs would just buckle. To my surprise they didn't and they were just as strong as ever. I placed my slippers on my feet and glided out my room and down the hallway towards the living room.
The living room was once on my favourite rooms in the house and I shuffled through the doorway I scanned the room. The tall walls were painted cream. House plants were hung intermittently and fairy lights danced off the picture rail that meandered around the room.  At the far end of the room, a grand coal burning fireplace rested. Flames licked up the chimney and cackled as they ate their way through the lumps of coal. An elegant, spherical, overmantle mirror, daintily hung above the fire. A bookcase was hidden in the alcove to the right of the room.
Just like in the temple, we'd decided to have large, green comfy pillows dotted around the hard wooden floor. Most pillows were currently occupied. The two healers were sat with Taavi on the pillows next to the warm fire. On the pillows nearest the bookcase, Haniyya and Kaden sat, my cat happily nestled between the two. On the pillows closest to the door my parents were sat. I took the last remaining pillow next to my friends. Everyone looked at me expectedly and I took that as my cue to begin explaining the visions that had ruined my birthday celebrations. The faces of the adults around the room as I shared what I saw, were cause for concern. Not a single face displayed surprise or shock.
As I finished, silence descended on the room. It felt like forever before my mum said "I think it's time you learn a little more about our past and what has been kept from you."

The Citadel of Fahnzel, sits high and mighty on top of a hill, as it oversees the city below its feet. The sun has shone through the castle walls as it reflected against the castle chandeliers and its luxurious fixtures. The Great hall even has a majestic fireplace that warms up the atmosphere of the hall. It was amazingly large enough to walk and stand inside it. The Halls also has an elaborate overmantle with stone or wood carvings, coats of arms, heraldic mottoes, caryatids, and other adornments that can be seen inside. 

Inside this Majestic hall sits the King, Edward MoSanchez along with his Chief Minister Louis. The Young, yellow-haired King, is swirling his glass of red wine as he listens to His Chief Minister's report.

"Your Majesty, It seems a town was sieged last night by a Horde of Goblins," said Chief Minister Louis. 

"What town? and how accurate is this report? I have patrol guards stationed at the borders! There are no reports of Goblin hordes intruding our perimeters!" said Edward as he stopped swirling his glass. 

"Last night, a traveling peddler going to Tenrocks city witnessed the marching horde as he was passing by Yellowleaf. He was frightened upon seeing the marching Goblins, and fled immediately!" said the Chief Minister.

"Yellowleaf has already served its purpose. I couldn't care less for that pigsty of a village! Find out how those damn Goblins have entered my domain!" said Edward as he threw his Wine glass on the floor. 

"I will send some people to Yellowleaf to investigate the situation as soon as possible!" said Louis.

As soon as the Chief Minister was about to head out, the castle doors opened. A castle guard stepped in and gave a salute to the king.

"My lord! Someone wishes to speak with you!" said the castle guard.

"What now? Who is our uncultured guest that wish to intrude our castle walls." asked Edward.

"Your Majesty! His name is Ben Durnham. He is accompanied by his son and daughter! Should I send them away?" asked the castle guard.

"Let them in. I grant them an audience to meet with their beloved King." said Edward as he grinned maliciously.

As the castle guard went out to fetch the family, Edward asked his Chief Minister for the identity of their guests.

"Your Majesty, His name is Ben Durnham. He runs a charitable private institution within the city." answered Chief Minister Louis. 

Ben Durnham has stepped in the Grand Hall along with his son, Falkes and his daughter, Alice.
Six Castle Guards are accompanying them as they enter the Grand Hall.

"Your Majesty. I thank you, for willing to grant this humble servant an audience." said Ben as he kneeled in front of the King. His son and daughter followed after their father and kneeled down on one leg as well.

"Oi! What is wrong with your daughter?!" asked Edward.

Alice was holding on to his brother Falkes, because his sister Alice is blind. As soon as she heard the King ask about her, she shivered in fear. She is well aware of the atrocities of their current ruler.

"My Apologies your highness, As you have noticed, my daughter is blind. She needs someone assisting her at all times." said Ben.

"My name is Falkes Durnham, your highness. I am simply supporting my sister. Sadly, she..."

"SMACK!"

Ben and Alice were shocked, as the King stepped down from his throne and bashed Falkes face with his golden cane and then proceeded to break his leg.

"How dare you speak in front of your king, when you are not being asked to!" shouted Edward as he bashed away at Falkes leg.

"Go ahead and speak, Mister Ben! I do not have all day!" said Edward to the dismayed Father.

"Y...Your majesty, I h..humbly ask to lower taxes on our institution. W..we simply cannot afford to purchase food and medicine for the Sick and the disabled." said Ben as he shakes from anger and fear. He can only kneel as he watches his Son writhe in pain.

"Brother.. hic hic!" muttered Alice as he caressed his brother. 

"Sigh. I really don't understand my foolish father. Why would he help these filthy paupers! Even the Gods themselves have punished them for being Sinful. Alas, here we are wasting the kingdom's resources for these sinful ingrates! Be glad that I haven't purged your institution to the ground. If it weren't for my father's orders, I would've banished you and everyone else who is afflicted, from the kingdom!" said Edward as he sat back down on his throne. 

In the world of Circa, the people believed that disability was aligned with their sins and their punishment. The City's Medieval priests and scholars even believed that a body would be corrupted by sin and therefore divine punishment took the form of physical illnesses. But in actuality, due to the City's intensive labor that constituted agriculture, many peasants and serfs have been found with extensive spinal and limb injuries, as well as stunted growth, malnutrition, and general deformity.

"Bow down with your head on the floor, and thank your Great King for hitting your son on the face! Then I will think about lowering your taxes." said the grinning Edward.

"Father! you mustn't!" whispered Alice. 

"Don't stop me Alice!" muttered Ben as he bowed his head on the floor with anger and hatred in his heart.

"T...thank you... your. Majesty for.. hitting my... Son... in his face..." said Ben as he bit his lips till it bled.

"Hahaha! You may go. Chief Minister Louis, reduce their taxes for three months. You have entertained me well!" said the malevolent King Edward.,

"O..of.. course your majesty! Right Away!" answered the Chief Minister. He writes down the King's words as he himself is afraid to incur the King's anger.

Ben stood up and assisted his son Falkes, who is unable to walk because of his broken leg. Alice forced herself to cease her sobbing, so she can help her father assist her injured brother out the castle. As The Broken Durnham family has reached the Doors of the hall, a fearful command was heard.

"Leave your Daughter here." said Edward.

The Durnham Family was quickly blocked by the castle guards. Ben shivered with fear and Falkes clenched his fists with anger.

"Mister Ben, You are already burdened by assisting your son with his broken leg due to an unfortunate accident. Since no one is able to assist your beautiful daughter, I myself will gladly assist her instead! We have many apothecaries stationed in the castle to check her eyesight, so you should be thanking me for being such a compassionate king!" said Edward.

"Your Majesty... you cant...." said Ben.

"Father... Just GO! Please... just go! hic... hic!" said Alice as she cried with fear and sadness. She wanted her family to leave the castle before things get any worse.

Ben Durnham helplessly left the castle with his injured Son. They both cried for the innocent Alice who was left behind. They can't simply imagine, what the Ruthless King can do to her.

Edward has ordered his maid servants to take Alice away to bathe and feed her for the time being. Although Alice has a beautiful face, her body's constitution is lanky from malnutrition. Edward has decided to make her constitution better before making his way with the innocent Alice. He can't help but be excited to prepare her as if she was a grand offering to appease an angry God. 

Edward and Louis are left in the hall, along with a few castle guards.

"Your Majesty, don't you think that's a bit too much?" said Chief Minister Louis.

"As my father's right hand man and the one who knows me the most. You clearly have misunderstood the situation. These peasants have forgotten to fear me, so I simply reminded them why they should! Mark my words, Louis. All it takes is a spark of Hope for these peasants to create chaos. I will not allow chaos within my rule! This is how you keep these animals in check. Dogs will be dogs, Kings will be Kings!" said Edward as he ordered his servant to fetch another glass of wine.   

Edward MoSanchez has certainly earned his title of being a Ruthless and heinous King. Many Nobles under his domain have attempted to assassinate him. Even the previous top ministers have tried to stage a coup against the King. Every single one of them has utterly failed miserably. Edward hanged their tortured corpses in the city square, as a reminder to those who would go against him. Everyone in the city has lived in fear ever since.

Hi guys! Author here! I am new to writing, So pls. be gentle :p i just want to share my passion of cooking in writing format. As a fan of webnovels, its my dream to make one of my own.

I crossed the blocky entrance and climbed the stone spiraling steps to the next level of the pyramid. Once we passed the threshold, we came to a dark room lit only by self-illuminated mirrors. There were thirteen six-foot tall mirrors arranged in a circle. I stepped into the center very carefully, looking around me to see if there were any darts or weird traps like in the movies. I breathed out a long breath when nothing came flying out to attack me.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Remi asked behind me.
I waved my hand at him. "Hush. Let me figure this out."
In the mirrors, I saw the next threshold. I looked around at the rest of the dark room. Remi was walking around the backs of the mirrors.
"Do you see anything else?" I asked.
I couldn't see him in the darkness but his deep voice growled a negative response.
So, it had to be the mirrors. I stepped forward to the first one to the right. I saw myself. As I looked around at the other mirrors, I saw a few that showed the correct angles for the location, but some showed my back and other my front. My eyebrow's furrowed. It looked like light was not reflecting correctly here.
My finger reached out and touched the surface of the mirror. My finger squeaked slightly as it connected with the surface. I looked over my shoulder and picked a different mirror, one that had shown my front instead of an angle on my back. Remi came up behind me as I stared at it. Both he and I reflected in the mirror. I looked back over my shoulder. A few of the mirrors were also not showing the correct image. I slid my finger down the front but this time my finger sunk through the surface like it was water. I pulled it back quickly. The liquid surface solidified again reflecting my dark form.
"Did you see that?" I whispered. 
I saw Remi's head nod in the reflection.
I stuck my finger through its surface again then pushed my hand in.
"Should you be doing that?" He asked.
"I don't think we have much choice." I pushed my shoulder through and then my head. As my head poked to the other side, I saw a group of five mirrors around the circle. Some of which showed my backside instead of my front. I stepped through the rest of the way. I spun around the circle. The room was similar, but with less mirrors, and still no threshold. Remi followed, stepping in behind me. Some of the mirrors showed the right angles of us and a few had a threshold behind us in the image. I touched each of the surfaces of the mirrors. Three of the five were liquid. I chose one and stepped through.
The next room held three mirrors. I wasn't sure if that was good or bad. I picked another, with Remi still on my heel. This one held seven. I picked three more. The first room had three mirrors, the second eleven, and the third held five again.
"Do you know what you are doing?" Remi asked.
I shook my head. "I'm just guessing."
"Well, I can do that." He disappeared through another mirror. I watched him walked through three more through the images in the mirrors. In some, it was like he was right next to me. In one, I was alone. In another he was alone. I picked a different path. We wound a maze through the paths of mirror. After about twenty I stopped. I watched his image walk through multiple mirrors of the thirteen that surrounded me.
"I wish we could see that path..." I murmured. 
That gave me an idea. I fumbled through my bag and found the keychain flashlight, which wasn't going to be helpful, but the other side was a laser pointer. I pointed it towards a threshold in a mirror. As the light left the flashlight, the red beam became visible. It wasn't just a spot like in our world, instead, it was a path of light.
"Whoa," I whispered. Then louder, I asked, "Can you see that?"
Remi's image looked left and right following the red beam in front of him. "Yes! Let me follow it."
After the first one, he stopped and looked around. "It looks like it bounces off the solid mirrors and points to the next one."
His image jumped through six more mirrors until he stood looking at the next doorway. "I'm here."
I jumped through the mirror. When I met with the next seven mirrors I stopped. There were several thresholds in the images. I didn't know which one my laser pointer would be sending me to.
"Great. Now how am I going to get there?" I said as I pointed the beam around the images.
"Can't you just point it at the door?"
"Which one? There are three." I pointed the light at the first one to my right. The laser light disappeared into it and then bounced as a red light across other images. I turned and pointed the laser straight ahead towards the next mirror. That mirror reflected it to another and then back to one at my left.
"Ah ha!" I followed the beam through to the next mirror.
"I take it, you figured it out?"
I pointed the beam straight in front of me again from the mirror I was climbing through. This one reflected off of three different mirrors before it sank into the mirror on my right. I climbed through that one.
"Yep. I'll be there soon, just hang on." I jumped through the next mirror and then three more.
"What am I supposed to hang on to?" He asked sarcastically while his dark figure leaned against the doorway.
I stepped through the last single mirror and into the last room.
"Well, that was exciting."
I couldn't see Remi's face, but he seemed annoyed.
"I wonder what's next," I said.
"How come you sound almost chipper about this?" He asked.
"Why shouldn't I? It's physics. Something I'm actually good at. None of this magic mumbo jumbo shit. I know the rules. I know how to play.
"Well, I sure don't. Come on Miss Physics, let's get a move on." He ushered me up the spiral staircase.
I couldn't help it. I was actually kind of excited for the last puzzle.

At the School of the Afterlife, mirrors had a special meaning; each mirror represented a person and hid a memory. The scene before him shocked Chen Ge. He had been at the school for so long and had not seen much mirrors. It turned out that all of them had been hidden there. "Mirrors represent memories, and memories hide one's secrets. The door pusher has been spying on everyone's past."
The door had the same color as the wall; they practically were one and the same. With the reports covering the outer wall, after the death of the door pusher, no one would expect such a room to exist behind the wall of shame.
"This door pusher had a unique hobby. The despair behind the door twisted him, or he gave up on himself and opened his arms to embrace the abyss." Chen Ge was curious about every door pusher, and the School of the Afterlife's door pusher was the only dead door pusher, so he was worth studying.
"Keep close to me." Chen Ge dragged Xu Yin into the hidden room.
"I'm not lying to you. This is the headmaster's office that you wished to come to. The door pusher is the school's owner, and this room is the most hidden room in the school." The doll argued for his innocence, but Chen Ge's attention was distracted by the things inside the room. He did not notice the doll's change. The room was not big. It had no windows, and the only point of connection to the outside world was the door.
"This is the most suffocating room I've ever been in." Bai Qiulin carried the mirror, but he did not follow Chen Ge. He only took a glance and shook his head. "Trapping oneself inside a room filled with mirrors, looking at one's reflection always, even a Specter would rarely decide to do something like that."
"Don't underestimate these mirrors." Chen Ge picked up the broken mirrors on the ground carefully. He held the piece before his eyes, but the reflection was not his own. The mirror was empty; it looked strange and rather pitiful. "The School of the Afterlife is different from other scenarios, and one of the reasons is the existence of these mirrors. Regardless, the secret behind them should be found in this room."
There was barely anywhere to stand in the room; the mirrors and their pieces overlapped over each other, reflecting one another. It was like the school's consciousness above their head, everyone's memory and consciousness overlapping together.
"I've led you to the headmaster's office, so that should prove to you my sincerity." The doll pulled on Chen Ge's clothes to have Chen Ge look at him.
"Hmm." That was Chen Ge's only reply. He was attracted by one of the mirrors in the corner of the room. Most of the mirrors in the room were broken, with irregular edges and blood or stain on their surfaces, but the mirror at the edge was perfectly preserved. It gave off a faded red light, and blood streamed down its surface like something was trying to come out.
"Whose mirror could this be? From the appearance, it looks like a girl's mirror. Could it be Chang Wenyu's?" Chen Ge was suddenly reminded of a problem. If there was a mirror that corresponded to every student in the school, was it possible that Zhang Ya's mirror was there as well?
Shaking his head, Chen Ge pushed this thought out of his mind. Zhang Ya had already killed the door pusher, so why would she leave her mirror behind? With that in mind, Chen Ge's curiosity grew. "Xu Yin, go and get that mirror."
Chen Ge caught the doll, afraid that this was part of his conspiracy. So, to be careful, he would not have the doll have any contact with anything in the room. Listening to Chen Ge's order, Xu Yin walked to the corner, but once he stepped on the mirrors on the ground, all the mirrors started to bleed. Cracks formed, and the mirrors were like mouths that opened up to consume Xu Yin.
"Come back!" Chen Ge yelled. Once Xu Yin stopped, the mirrors in the room slowly returned to normal. Chen Ge felt a tug on his shirt, he turned back to see a new line had appeared on the doll.
"Once you touch the mirrors, the school's consciousness will target you. What happened earlier was a warning."
"I can only look at them but not touch them?"
"Not really. The warning should only work on Red Specters. If it's just a normal lingering spirit, the reaction won't be so intense."
"What if it's a living person?" Chen Ge returned the doll to Xu Yin. "The door pusher and the school's consciousness would not have expected a living person to enter this room. When I picked up a broken mirror earlier, it did not react at all."
"I have no clue…"
Chen Ge stopped asking for the doll's opinion. With a careful step, he moved into the room. Like he expected, nothing changed.
"Xu Yin, guard right there, and don't move."
Moving slowly forward, Chen Ge was stepping on the pile of broken mirrors. "Sorry for the offense." Every mirror held a memory, so Chen Ge apologized in advance to make himself feel better. Lowering his head to look, this place was like a mirror cemetery.
"Only the mirror in the corner has blood flowing on its surface. Whose mirror could it be?" Chen Ge already possessed the painter's mirror, but that information came from a non-smiler, so it could not be trusted fully. Chen Ge could trip easily from the pieces underneath his feet. Being injured was a small thing; Chen Ge did not wish to break the mirrors. He slowly moved his body, and it took him a minute to reach the corner. He squatted down to study the mirror before him. This mirror was different from the others. When he saw the mirror, more blood appeared on the surface like this was not a mirror but a beating heart.
"There is something inside the mirror." Chen Ge used his Yin Yang Vision and realized that the mirror covered in blood was reflecting the room that he was in. Inside the enclosed place littered with broken mirrors, a man in a red shirt was squatting in the corner looking at a girl's mirror with extreme focus.
"Wait a minute! This scene is similar to what…" Chen Ge prepared to retreat when the man in the corner suddenly turned around. The man looked eighty percent like Chen Ge, and the scary thing was that his facial features were still changing, becoming more and more like Chen Ge's.
"A scapegoat?" Chen Ge was still moving back when the man in the mirror screamed. He pulled madly at his face, until he dug pieces of flesh out like the face represented extreme tragedy.
As the man in the mirror went mad, a loud voice came from outside the corridor. Then Chen Ge heard the old headmaster. "Chen Ge! Something is wrong with the school's consciousness! The eye is bleeding!"


The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. 
At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. "Landlord, is this what you meant by 'the house can be a little crowded at night'‽"

If anyone had said this to Xu Xun at any other time, she would definitely have treated them as a retard. However, she could only think the monk was indeed amazing when she heard it now… She was then startled to her senses. One Finger Monastery's abbot? Wasn't that the monk Ma Yuan had been talking about?

The ghost chuckled. "Punk, you committed plenty of misdeeds in the mortal world and used various means to hide them. Later, they were exposed and you hid everywhere and concealed your identity. Did you think you were so skilled that no one could do a thing to you? Did you not know that the gods were watching? In this Hell of Mirrors of Retribution, no matter what powerful means you have, your past deeds will be revealed clearly for all to see. Only then will your future path be decided."
With that said, the ghost threw Zheng Yuan through the door of the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution. It then laughed. "I forgot to mention. The Hell of Mirrors of Retribution is also a punishment. Enjoy yourself!"
Fangzheng grinned and mumbled. "How pitiful. The ones before you were directly sent to the corresponding hells to suffer punishment, but you have to make a detour to the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution first."
Perhaps many people would imagine that the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution was just a part of a verification process, but Fangzheng knew very well that there were a few ways of entering hell.
One of them was to directly enter hell and suffer the corresponding hell's punishment.
Another was to be judged by an official before being sentenced to the corresponding hell.
The last type was to be judged via the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution before being sentenced to the corresponding hell.
The latter two didn't sound very different, but Fangzheng knew that the difference between them was huge.
Hell had eighteen levels, and many people imagined the eighteen levels to be equivalent to eighteen stories that went from a lower to a higher level, or vice-versa. However, that wasn't the case!
The levels of hell weren't simply differentiated by space and type of punishment, but also by time and type of punishment! Most important of all was time.
If one directly entered hell, the punishment they received was the lightest. Time inside and outside was the same. 365 days also made up a year, and the punishment period had its face value.
As for being placed in different levels of hell, it just meant different kinds of punishment. There was no difference in time.
However, to be judged by an official before entering hell was different. If that was the case, time was counted in a different manner. The first level had 3,750 years for every day in the mortal world! If the official's hand trembled, and he sentenced you to ten days, don't be too happy. That didn't mean you would be staying in hell for ten days but 37,500 years!
The second level of hell's calculation was twice that of the first level of hell⁠—7,000 years counted as a day!
It continued the same way beyond the third level. As for the final level of hell, the punishment length was twice that of the penultimate level.
If one was thrown into the eighteenth level of hell, it meant that a day's length of punishment had exponentially increased all the way to that level! There was basically no reprieve at that point.
And the levels mentioned didn't simply refer to the levels of hell, but to the levels of punishment! So if the official sentenced you to the eighteenth level of hell, he wouldn't simply be throwing you to the eighteenth level's Hell of Sawing, but he would be doing so for the time which corresponds to the eighteenth level. As for the punishment, it was determined based on the kind of sins committed.
Similarly, passing through the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution to enter the other hells had an effect on the time of the punishment. People that went through this course were even more pathetic. Just as the ghost said, the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution was also a hell of punishment. Entering this hell didn't just mean that one would learn what one's deserved punishment was. One would also have to enjoy the punishment feast from the fourth level's Hell of Mirrors of Retribution! Only after the hell itself was satiated would the official punishment begin!
As such, people who were made to enter the Hell of Mirrors of Retribution from the very beginning to suffer punishment were extremely pitiful existences.
With this in mind, Fangzheng couldn't help but press his palms together and silently say, "Nicely done!"

He stood in place as though he had fallen into a kaleidoscope. When the mirrors reflected him, the reflections were also reflected in the other mirrors. This repeated incessantly, forming a world of countless mirrors! Every world had another mirror reflecting him…
Standing there, Zheng Yuan couldn't figure out his bearings or where he was.
"Is this hell? It's just this and nothing more." Zheng Yuan thought as he mumbled. "I thought there would be mountains of knives and fiery seas…"
Just as he said that, he heard a thud as the mirrors around him shattered.
Zheng Yuan was stunned as he laughed. "No way? Such poor quality? They shattered all at once? You call this hell?"
But when the glass fell to the ground, he could no longer laugh.
The glass that fell to the ground suddenly ignited and burned!
"Ah!" Zheng Yuan's feet instantly became scorching hot as boils were produced before even they were burnt into a char. Following that, the smell of roasted flesh wafted right after the smell of charred flesh.
Zheng Yuan cried out in pain as he tumbled to the ground. But when he did, he realized that the ground had countless knives!
The knives began to rise up. He clearly saw that the entire world was made of knives. These knives rose into the air to become huge mountains of knives!
Below the mountain of knives was a fiery inferno…
At that instant, a thought flashed in Zheng Yuan's mind. Mountains of knives and fiery seas?
He felt his hand hurt as his fingers were sliced off. He cried in pain as he fell down the mountain of knives, tumbling along the way as his flesh was sliced open, splattering blood all over. As his flesh was mangled, his limbs were sliced off.
By the time he arrived at the bottom of the mountain, Zheng Yuan had been reduced into a mangled mess of flesh.
Following that, an inferno swept over him and instantly reduced Zheng Yuan into a ball of fire. He cried out incessantly.
Zheng Yuan didn't know how long the fire lasted. Perhaps a year or a decade, but he felt like he'd rather die than suffer for even a moment longer! Unfortunately, he just couldn't die, and the pain increased multifold.
As Zheng Yuan was crying out in pain, the surroundings changed once more. The flames and mountains of knives flew up again and transformed back into mirrors.


In the rural northeastern mountainous regions stands a tiny Buddhist temple, named One Finger Temple. It isn't a large one but it is extremely miraculous.

The temple has rice that emanates an aromatic fragrance.

The temple has sweet and refreshing water that rivals ambrosia.

The temple has Buddhas that grant wishes to the sincere.

The temple isn't large but it has everything. The temple isn't large but it has flourishing incense offerings that far exceed all temples. The temple isn't large but it attracts both citizens and foreigners that line up overnight…

The temple has a bald but handsome monk. Every day, he would bawl, "I want to renounce asceticism! I want to marry a chick that's not too pretty, have a cute baby, and lead a stable life!"

This book is a casual novel that introduces various Chinese traditional customs, as well as Buddhist ones. It strives to be a positive book, allowing people to reflect on how they should live their lives and treat others.

"Say, brother—friend! Are you from a higher race?" Lao Zhuoma was going to call Han Sen "brother," but it wasn't appropriate. So, he called him "friend."
Lao Zhuoma thought Han Sen was from a higher race, because normal Barons should never reach that sort of level. It didn't matter how much they practiced, they just couldn't.
"On the form, didn't I tell you I was human?" Han Sen acted like he didn't understand what he was being asked.
"Yes, you did." Lao Zhuoma felt disheartened, as he had never heard of a human before. And he knew there was no higher race called that.
Lao Zhuoma still felt depressed, and without saying much, he told Han Sen, "Dollar, you will have to wait a few days on this airship. But going to Seven Mirrors won't take long, once we depart."
"That's okay. I greatly enjoy traveling," Han Sen said.
Lao Zhuoma gave Han Sen a room to live in, but without anything to do, Han Sen found himself going up on deck. Many refugees wished to board the airship and go to Seven Mirrors. Going to an underdeveloped planet was better than remaining in a warzone, or so they felt.
But Seven Mirrors wasn't willing to take just anybody. The Nobles were always favored, which made it difficult for commoners to be accepted.
Seven Mirrors was not a charity, and they were only going to take those who could prove themselves useful. The old, sick, or injured weren't allowed on board.
"What race do you belong to? You don't look like you're from Planet Kate," a Baron Kate asked. He had come forward to check Han Sen out.
"Human," Han Sen answered.
"I have never heard of them, so I can only assume they are even smaller than the Kate." The Baron wasn't insulting Han Sen; he was mocking himself, more than anything.
Han Sen looked at him and asked, "What can I do for you?"
"I am Mike." The Baron introduced himself, and then said, "So, we've been recruited by Seven Mirrors and we're headed to an underdeveloped planet for work? If you want, why don't we go to the same place and partner up?"
"I still haven't decided if I want to go yet." Han Sen did not reply.
Mike shook his head. "When the fighting starts, it's not only the common folk that will be in grave danger. The Barons will be, too. Land reclamation is hard, but it is still better than war. So, why the hesitation?"
"We'll see." Han Sen didn't much care for what he was being told.
Han Sen had spoken to Qiao, and he was able to confirm that war had not yet reached Gran City. Qiao and Lan Se were thinking of ways they could escape and where they could go, but they had so far been unable to reach a decision.
Han Sen told them about Seven Mirrors recruiting, and they told him they might consider it. They'd talk about it in greater depth once they were all together again.
The Third Master had evacuated from Planet Kate with Mister Tiger, and they extended an invite for Han Sen to join them at another headquarters of the Black Gold Group. It was an offer Han Sen quickly rejected, though.
Mike wished to say something more to Han Sen, but something occurred down below.
They both looked down and saw a legion of centaurs in front of the airship. They surrounded the people who were waiting for a chance to conduct the test in the hopes of boarding the airship.
Lao Zhuoma quickly went down to meet the centaurs, though. He smiled and said, "Taurus, please do not misunderstand. We are from Seven Mirrors, and we are friends, not enemies."
After that, Lao Zhuoma pointed at the Seven Mirrors emblem on the ship.
The leading centaur recognized it; in fact, it was the reason that the centaurs had taken action.
The centaur, seeing the Seven Mirrors symbol, looked at Lao Zhuoma and coldly said, "We don't care about Seven Mirrors. Kill all these Kate."
The centaur warriors lifted their spears to kill the Kate that had been lining up. Lao Zhuoma looked horrified at the wrath of the centaurs. He had joined Seven Mirrors, yes, but he was Kate. It hurt to see his own people get slaughtered.
"Can you show mercy? Seven Mirrors will be accepting these Kate. We were going to take them to help develop an empty planet. Please?" Lao Zhuoma gritted his teeth.
Although many people would fail the test, Lao Zhuoma was a Kate himself. He couldn't just watch them die.
Mike looked just as angry, too. He said. "The low lives of Taurus happily licked the boots of the Feathers when they were in control, but now that they have fallen, these scumbags have aligned themselves with the enemies of the Feathers. This is f*cking horrible!"
"Which race did they sign up with?" Han Sen asked curiously.
"I think they are called Demons. They looked similar to the Kate, but they have horns on their heads," Mike said.
Han Sen wished to say something, but the leader of the centaurs shouted, "What a load of crap! Only the people currently onboard the ship count as Seven Mirrors. Just kill the rest of them."
After that, he commanded his warriors to attack the people.
"Stop!" Lao Zhuoma shouted.
The leader centaur coldly laughed and said, "What? Would you like to fight us, as a representative of Seven Mirrors?"
"No. We are merely recruiting. Please be nice and let us take these people. Seven Mirrors has bought their services," Lao Zhuoma said politely.
Seven Mirrors was not weak, but they weren't the sorts to engage in conflict. This time, when they came to Planet Kate, the supervisor had informed them not to come into contact with any Demons.
"Okay. Let's make this simple; from now on, if they are on the airship they are yours. If they cannot get on board, then I am sorry." After the centaur leader said that, he gestured with his hands for his soldiers to rush forward.
Lao Zhuoma didn't fight. He just shouted at the people, saying, "Get on the ship! Hurry!"
"Animal!" Mike shouted down from atop the ship.
"Why are they killing them? Don't they need people to develop Planet Kate, too?" Han Sen asked with a frown.
Mike coldly said, "Taurus is a race that takes pleasure in killing. They have a grudge with the Kate, due to the Kate beating them once before. Now they've got a clear chance, they aren't so willing to let us leave."
There was some crying heard from the crowds, as people tried to rush forward and get aboard the barge. The entryway was narrow, though, and if many more people boarded, it would overload the airship.
The centaur warriors thundered into the crowds, butchering merrily. The Kate were all just commoners, and so they had no chance of killing the centaur warriors. They were not trained for anything of the sort.
In moments, a dozen of the Kate had been killed.
Lao Zhuoma called for everyone to hurry, but there was not enough room for everyone to get on.

Feather's lost her normal voice. She sounds low, soft, and powerless, but she looks braver and firmer than she did at the beginning.
'The difficulty of games is irreversible. It would be always from easy to difficult no matter how many stars it has. Your next game is always harder than the previous game.'
'If we pick a low star game right now, it will not be easier than a high star game.'
'For example, if we picked the doll catcher machine, the king spider would have come out. Do you get it?'
Ro doesn't feel well about his throat either. He sounds low as well, and gentle.
'Sir, where shall we go then?'
'We have many 5 star games to be picked such as Adventure in the Corpse City, Mirror Maze, Desert Tomb, and Survival Island. Which one do you want?'
'What do you recommend for me to play?'
'In Adventure in the Corpse City, you need to find all the parts of the same person. If you don't have much knowledge about the human body, I don't suggest you to play this.'
'In Mirror Maze, you find the ghost mirror.'
'In Desert Tomb, you need to survive for 3 days.'
'In Survival Island, you need to kill six types of exotic animals or plants.'
'We don't have much time left.'
The sky is turning grey.
The Abyss Amusement Park has daytime as well. When daytime comes, everything will stop running and the living people here will be locked here forever.
Some people didn't manage to get out fast enough and couldn't leave. They had good survival abilities and could bribe the ghosts to get some food and water for them. They lived well here but they had a shorter lifespan.
Feather has parents and her own life. She cannot stay here.
'We will go to Mirror Maze.'
Feather speaks and finds Ro is amazed.
'I trust Mr. Clown.'
Ro gives her a smile in return.
They walk backward and stand in front of the Mirror Maze again.
They see a wall of black stones and there are some broken mirror pieces together forming the letters of Mirror Maze. It must be old, some mirrors are missing.
By looking outside into the door, there is nothing but darkness.
No wind. It is like a giant eye quietly peering at them.
'Sir, can you hold my hand?'
'No.'
Feather is a little scared to get lost in such a dark place.
Ro ties together the red threads on his hand and her hand.
Within a certain range, the thread is able to stretch and connect them.
Feather holds the red thread and follows after Ro.
Sound is forbidden here. Even if she talks, there will be no voice coming from her. Footsteps cannot be heard either.
She doesn't dare to let go of the red thread even though the thread will not fall from her wrist.
She is willing to hold Mr. Clown's limbs even if his body is cold. She misses his legs.
Yet, in a silent atmosphere like this, she hesitates to touch his hand and doesn't do anything except walking and holding the red thread.
Ro is not trying to avoid her, but he knows that everything in the Mirror Maze might be fake. Senses can be fooled as well.
If Feather thinks she is holding his hand, she could have loosened her hand unconsciously and goes on holding hands of other ghosts here, being caught into a deeper illusion.
This place does have some lights. There is a candle every once a while on the wall. Every candle is burning on its end. The guttering of the candles twists into human face features.
Ro has nothing in his mind, not even himself.
Maybe he has too much going on that the mirrors are unable to show them.
In Feather's eyes, every mirror here shows her and Mr. Clown. The reflections move as they move as if they are all normal mirrors.
The lights are dim. The mirrors reflect and amplify these dim lights so that she can see herself clearly in the mirrors.
She sees herself looking pale, and the cherry juice on her dress has dried. It looks like solidified blood stains.
The mirrors don't have her lower body. The candles aren't enough to light her all. Her lower body is in darkness and the path is not clear either.
The red thread is still there. Feather is not too flustered.
A cold wind comes from nowhere and she rubs her arms. While she is not paying attention, she stumbles on an unknown thing on the ground.
She screams and falls heavily on the ground.
As a result of the feature here, there is no sound being heard as if there was a giant monster that eats away all the sound.
It hurts. It probably broke her knee skin.
What scares her most is not the dimmer lights but the missing Mr. Clown.
Both paths ahead and behind have disappeared.
'Sir!'
Her voice is not heard by anyone including herself.
The red thread is still here, stretching to a dark void. She traces the red thread and touches a mirror in the darkness.
The red thread goes into the mirror.
She sees herself in the mirror, touching the end of the red thread.
Is he in the mirror?
In Ro's eyes, Feather stumbles on her own foot and falls. Then she touches the air as if she was doing a dumb show.
She is lost in the Mirror Maze but she didn't know.
She knows a way to test if the mirror has a solid core by putting a finger on it. If the finger tip perfectly matches the reflected one, then this mirror is empty inside and if there is someone behind the mirror, he can see Feather.
If the finger tips don't match perfectly, then this mirror has a solid core and the person behind the mirror cannot see Feather.
Feather points toward the mirror at the red thread.
The Feather in the mirror also points her finger toward Feather.
The mirror is extremely cold. Feather looks up and sees the reflected self giving her a charming but strange smile.
Feather is scared and retreats until she reaches a mirror on her back. The mirror on her back is not that cold.
Now, every mirror has a scared Feather on it as if the smile was just an illusion.
They look all the same.
She didn't get to test the mirror and has to try it again.
She doesn't know which one has the ghost that she decides to use the dumb way to see if there is a difference between these mirrors.
She has tried all mirrors. Every mirror has a solid core. Every reflection has a distance between it and Feather.
Which one is the ghost mirror?
The mirrors are moving toward Feather as if the reflections are besieging her. Finally the mirrors form together seamlessly into a decagon.
No matter where she looks, her limbs will come into contact with a mirror.
Sometimes she touches a mirror carelessly and it feels like touching a corpse.
The ground is still in darkness and leaking some unknown liquid out. Feather looks down and squats to figure out what it is. The reflection in front of her doesn't look down. It looks at Feather with a bizarre smile.
In Ro's eyes, Feather is surrounded by ten medium size mirrors. Her facial expressions switch between scared and calm like a caged bird being alarmed by a sudden change in the surroundings.
It is not the right time yet. Ro sits down and watches Feather circling in the mirrors.
The ghost can change its mirror. If Ro breaks one mirror, Feather will die.
They need to wait until the ghost is relaxed so that they can find it and break it.
In this game, Ro cannot help her as much. She needs to figure it out by herself.
It is normal for an ordinary teenage girl to be fooled by the mirror ghost. She just needs to wait until the ghost is overconfident.
He cannot tell this to Feather because the mirror ghost will know it easily from her.
Wind blows her ears from behind. She turns around and sees the reflection smiling at her vividly and blowing air at her. She looks like a normal girl.
Is this mirror the right one to break?
Feather doesn't dare to act.
Other mirrors are weird as well. She cannot decide which one to break.
'Why don't you act?' She looks at her reflection and figures out the lip language.
Suddenly, all the reflections paste to the mirror and their facial features are pressed and deformed. They all speak at Feather, 'Why don't you act!'
Feather is mad at them and the voices go into her head directly. She has a headache and wants to smash her own head on the ground.
Yet, she doesn't dare to break the mirrors.
A reflection's face skin is peeled off slowly. Another reflection's eyeballs are dug out. Her face looks miserable and twisted while the lip language is saying, 'Help me.'
Other mirrors are similar. There are sawed reflection, boiled reflection, chewed reflection, dismembered reflection... They are Feather's reflection dying in the mirrors.
If they were like a real horror movie, Feather could force herself and just endure watching it. However, the feelings of being killed also come to Feather. A synchronization of pain.
In a silent maze, Feather hears the sound of a chainsaw. From where the sound comes, she feels that part of her body is sawed, including her bones.
Skin peeling, chewing, boiling...
She treats this as a visual reality of 100% pain game and endures it.
If this was real, Mr. Clown would have saved me.
He didn't show up, so all these are unreal.
Feather thinks to comfort herself.
A cold hand raises her head. Someone blows at her ears.
'Girl, you are tough.'
Someone's soft long hair falls on Feather's neck. It has a mournful fragrance.
Feather is not horrified now. She looks back but sees nothing but her corpses in the mirrors.
'Who are you?' Feather hears her own voice resonating.
Quiet.
A puff of grey smoke comes from nowhere and covers the mirrors as if the corpses have grown white hairs.
Feather hypnotizes herself that these are all movie props.
Mr. Clown's words are always correct.
She will find the real ghost mirror.

Ro Ginger's quest to bring a girl out of the Abyss Amusement Park.
