Honey Ito ran as if the devil was chasing her. She clutched her workbag, careful not to spill it. She evaded the people in her way like an Olympic runner in an obstacle course.  The people around her were either staring at her like a lunatic or whispering harsh words about her.
Honey did not care what these people were thinking. All that was in her mind was her goal- THE NEWLY OPENED BOOKSTORE!
Seeing the large new modern building, Honey's fast stride became comically insane. As one man exited the shiny new door of her destination, Honey shouted, "Hold the door!"
The man jumped in surprise before he froze with his arms opening the handle. With a blur, Honey entered the building, passing the man and bumping him into the door, while panting like a hyena. 
Honey mentally congratulating herself for reaching the bookstore before closing hours! 
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but we are closing," a kind-looking woman wearing a pretty white blouse and black skirt with a nametag said. 
Honey wilted, her world crumbling. Her back hunched, her eyes lowered at the ground, and her hands tightened the grip of her bag. 
"Can I just see the newly released section?" Honey begged. She silently cursed her boss for making her work overtime. Honey noted to herself to buy a voodoo doll so she can put her boss into the same misery as she is feeling right now.

If only this lady will let her buy even just one book! She had no new books left to read in her apartment! Some have even been reread a couple of times. Honey was desperate to have another baby to read for the night! She had been looking forward to acquiring a new book for weeks now! 

"I am sorry, ma'am. Why don't you come back tomorrow? We still have the same discount as today, so there is no worry."
Honey felt all hope drain from her soul. She almost let out a sob.
She was about to beg again when suddenly she heard a loud chuckle behind her.
Honey turned in curiosity, why was this man laughing? She was desperate here! Can't he be a bit considerate to a woman in need?!
When her eyes saw the man, her body felt like it became stone. Her eyes widen the biggest it can possibly be. 

NO WAY!
"Watanabe Senpai?" <span style="font-size: calc(var(--rem) * 1px * 1.0625); letter-spacing: 0px;">She almost choked on her saliva when she opened her mouth to speak.</span>
Kai Watanabe still had his hand on the door handle. His lips tilted up as he nodded to her direction in acknowledgment. He gestured for Honey to go out of the store with him. 
The hesitation in Honey's body language was very obvious. His mirth grew. 
Kai raised the brown paper bag in his hands and shook it in front of Honey's face as he said, "I have a lot of books. I am willing to part ways with one." 
Kai's smile grew wider as Honey did not hesitate to nod. He felt as if he was dangling a treat in front of a dog. She never changed after all these years, huh? Still such a bookworm. 

The lady that stopped Honey waved goodbye and closed the main door as they went out of the bookstore. Honey followed after Kai like a dog to his owner with its eyes on the prize, in Honey's case, on the brown paper bag filled with books.
Kai's grip on the paper bag tightened. He never dreamt that this day would come. Another chance was given to him, and this time he will not fail to meet expectations. 
Honey only stopped when Kai began to open the door of the passenger's side of his black automobile. She stared at the matte car with open mouth wonder. Back at College, Kai had been only a scholarship student with multiple part-time jobs to support himself. 
Honey felt a bit insecure at herself. She was just an ordinary office worker with an average wage, and in this city, she couldn't even afford to buy a car. 
Kai tapped her shoulder and said, "Come now, I don't bite."
Honey rolled her eyes, "Senpai, you promised me one book."
Kai chuckled, "Dinner first."
"But I-"
"Do you still like Italian food? I know a place that you'd like in Ginza. You wanted to eat in a Michelin Restaurant, didn't you? My treat!" Kai smiled, his hands continued to gesture for her to go inside the car.
Honey realized how hungry she was after all that running she had done before, but her hesitation left her standing on the spot unmoving. Her eyes meet with his, "Why?"
"You used to treat me to snacks in University. I still haven't repaid you for that." Kai quipped, cheerily gesturing for her to go inside the car again.
"Senpai, I wasn't trying to buy food for you. I just couldn't finish the cafeteria food, their portions are large, and I needed to diet at that time." She blushed at her admission. 
Honey was very chubby when she was in Uni, so she had to watch what she was eating. It just so happen that when Honey was with Kai, after their common class together, he was always ready to eat what she couldn't finish. 
"It was still something that I was thankful for you," Kai said.
After a few moments of hesitation, Kai took his hands off the door handle and got one blue hardcover book. Honey's eyes followed the book. She hungered to get her hands on that book for months now. Honey had once debated to purchase it online, but she had always loved shopping for books, so she had waited.
"They have new English released books..." Honey murmured in admiration.  It was hard to find English books in Japan; most of them are often only available online!
Hands reaching out for the book, Honey thirsted for that book. With annoying precision, Kai held the book above his head while his other hand gestured for her to go inside the car.
"Dinner first," Kai said.
Honey pouted.
"I'll give you the book, feed you expensive food, and even send you home," Kai added more to his offer.
Honey's pout worsened, "Senpai, if I don't know you, that sounded as if you have ulterior motives."
Kai stilled, but he just smiled at her while gesturing towards the inside of his car. 
FOR THE BOOK! 
Honey slowly climbed into the passenger seat. As she turned to the driver's side, watching Kai buckle his seatbelt, Honey's mind was occupied with thoughts of the book that he had baited her with.
Reaching for the passenger seatbelt, Kai made her cheeks reddened as he strapped her without hesitation. Without hesitation, Kai laid the book she wanted in her lap, as gentle as the way he smiled at her while doing so. 
In University, he was always kind to her. 
Honey placed her clenched hands beside her in awkwardness, trying to calm her frantic heart.
Now, he was still just as kind. If not more, probably.
Honey watched as they passed the front of the bookstore; she never thought that they'd meet again and at a bookstore too.

They had also first met in a bookstore twelve years ago too. 
What a coincidence.

He saw the way her unmanaged hair covered her face, and although she was not the conventional beauty, Kai found her beautiful. The way she opened the book carefully as if it was as fragile as glass, the way her eyes sparkle as she read, the way her emotions are easily seen as she goes through the plot, These things added more to her beauty. 
Kai stood up and ran his fingers in her hair to push her bangs away. He froze, surprised by his bold actions. 
Honey looked up with wide eyes, her mouth open as her expression morphed into horror.
Kai's lips twitched in amusement. Slowly, his laughter escaped his lips.
Honey's horrified face morphed into confusion.
Kai merely ruffled her already unkempt hair and said, "You are too cute."
Once again, Honey's expression changed as her cheeks tinted pink, and the tip of her ears looked like Cherry Blossom petals.
Kai chuckled. Her blush is a delight to his eyes. 
"You are too cruel. Stop teasing me," Honey murmured, burying her face into her book, trying to hide from the constant stare of the man in front of her. 
"Do you know the saying about boys pulling girl's pigtails?" Kai asked, deciding to close his book to focus on her.
Honey momentarily put her book down and peeked at Kai. Seeing his eyes still drilled into hers, she immediately covered her face again. The tip of her ears turning tomato red. 
"Do you like me?" Her voice came out as a squeak, and, in her opinion, it was definitely not attractive.
"Ever since college."

Surrounding us on all sides were Avocado Trees. I suppose that Knowledge's interest in them grew along with the Avocado Orchard. And to think it all started when I dropped a raw egg on her head. Good times.

"Isn't it 'past the avocado orchard'?" Games asked confused.

 "You can't go past the avocado orchard if you're surrounded by it, now can you?"

Looking at the dense concentration of the trees, he can't help but say, "True."

The doors were pushed (slammed) open and a girl hurriedly ran inside and shouted, "Get your hands off my books, Air!"

Startled, many of the Gods browsing through their books released a yelp and dropped their books. Bending down to pick them up, they sent a glare at the seemingly uneducated girl. 

One scholar was enraged enough to respond with, "The laws of this place dictate that shouting is not allowed."

The girl who was looking around threw him an uninterested look and simply said, "I am the law here."

"Arrogant."

"She doesn't know anything, ignore her."

"Who does she think she is, the Goddess of Knowledge?"

The girl ignored them and continued on her way, checking each row for any damaged books. Finishing the first floor, she flew up to the second one. 

(The Archives consist of 3 towers. The space in the middle of each tower is hollow while there are different levels jutting out from the walls. There is a staircase that spirals around and leads to all the floors. 

There are also 5 cylindrical platforms situated on the ground floor that levitate slightly off the marvel floor. They can be used as an elevator to quickly access different floors instead of climbing up all those stairs. Only those with a high enough level of magic power can control them, the rest must use the stairs. Flying is highly forbidden here.)


Seeing her fly, the Gods blinked their eyes in disbelief. Did she have a death wish? The last person who got impatient with the stairs and broke that rule was 'kindly offered' a vacation in the underworld. When he got back, he was bedridden and some say that he is still there to this day. Lying in eternal pain, not being able to move at all. Truly a fate worse than death. 

The Goddess of Knowledge even said that whoever broke the rule next would face a fate ten times worse. What was that fate? No one was daring enough to find out. Until she came along.

This girl who couldn't be older than 25 now had to face the wrath of a High God. 

"She must have gone crazy!"

"Poor child. She must be a newly inaugurated Low God who has yet to hear the rumors going around."

"For her sake, let's hope that Lady Archia does not come here today."

"She has not been here for centuries, why would today be any different. Lord Ibis will probably report this to her, " an old man with a long white beard said. He was one of the survivors of the war long ago and had a high ranking among the Low Gods.

"Senior is right but Lord Ibis will probably come up with harsher punishment for her."

"Indeed, but why do I feel that I have seen her before, " said the old man.

"Senior has most likely seen her at the portals."

"Yes, yes, that should be it, " he replied absentmindedly while trying to think of all the people he had come across. Not many had bright green hair like her and he certainly had not met someone like that, but why was she so familiar?

Welcome to the world created by the 1st almighty, a Sithe, a being of immense power.

There was once a battle between seven families, a massive war that took place across decades. That war resulted in many casualties. Lots of lives were taken by selfish yet strong humans that wanted to take over the country. It is crazy to think that the whole thing started because of politics. In Japan, there was seven noble families and one of those noble families would get elected every ten years to become the new royal family and take over Japan. Think of it as being the president. The way they were chosen was very simple, you would have to be the strongest clan or family to take over. The person who gets to take over would be the head of the family. But this all changed on the 35th election when the family that was chosen to be the new royal family was the Kozaki family which was and still is the one of the strongest family in the world. The head of the Fukusaburu family decided to turn the rest of the noble families on the Kozaki family and extinguish them all since he wanted to become the king himself. Which resulted in the widely known as the great royal war. 

The entire war ended in nine months when the head of the Fukusaburu family released the five mythical beasts that were imprisoned to beat the Kozaki family and take the throne for himself. Little did he know that the five mythical beasts hated taking orders. 

The five mythical beasts were imprisoned because they were a massive threat to humanity, and it took humanity's greatest soldiers to imprison them in the first place. The beasts decided to not take any order from a monster such as the head of the Fukusaburu family and released a massive energy outburst that nearly put on an end to the earth. The Fukusaburu head was lucky that they destroyed themselves causing that explosion and it also annihilated many of the Kozaki family members along with a lot of strong individuals that could have been a threat to him. He took the throne and evoked the authority of the Kozaki clan and took away their status as being one of the seven noble families. 

What remained of the Kozaki family were the elders and the kids that were unable to fight, they almost became extinct until Mishima Kozaki and his wife Megomi Kozake gave birth to Watanabe Kozaki deep in the forests of Japan. In a place where no man nor beast would ever dare to set foot in. 

The massive energy outburst that the five mythical beasts gave off was divided into five pillars of light that quickly disappeared into the bodies of five random humans that were present at the explosion sight, and were never seen for thousand of years. The newly elected king made a weapon's factory that used small energy shards that were scattered all over Japan to make powerful weapons that would give him the edge against any enemy he might face. 

This was all that I found in my grandfather's diary. I should ask father for more of his books and notes since they are very entertaining to read. But he would never give me any of them since I am still a little kid. He used to tell me bed stories about my grandfather and uncles who are heros that saved many people. He doesn't tell them to me anymore, he only tells them to my little sister Eve. 

I am going to try and sneak into my father's study and steal more books for now. 

Sui... 

Thousands of years ago, there was a massive war between seven noble families that wanted to steal the throne and rule Japan. That war is what shaped the earth into what it is now. The Kozaki family got kicked out of the seven noble families and their authority got evoked by the Fukusaburu family who's the current royal family. Filled with a sense of revenge, Watanabe Kozaki decides on turning his entire family into a family of mercenaries with two goals, stay alive and destroy the royal family. 

This story follows one of the five children of Watanabe Kozaki, Hirako Kozaki, and his adventure to regain back his family's place at the top of the world.

"Hohoho..." the old man smiled like it was no one's business and with a single knock of his staff, released waves of qi everywhere. It revealed his true appearance: that of a sagely old man. Although very old, his eyes carried a tint of vibrancy and his body exuded a strange feeling of vitality...

But Tang Ling didn't have the time to admire the virility of such man; his front head full of sweat. The qi released by a single tap of his staff released a pressure that made him immobilized for a few seconds. Blood inside of him was burning, it felt like it could explode any second! Thankfully, it was only a single release of power, if there were a second, a third... He wouldn't be in this world anymore.

The supervisor stoned his face, although he knew it could be considered be an attack, it wasn't intended. It was simply the pressure of 'existence' of higher-level masters, the suppression of a higher lifeforms towards inferior ones! At that level, no amount of men could kill this man because as long as he willed, anyone would self-explode in a fifty meters radius!

Thankfully, the Manor Lord hurriedly suppressed his aura to accommodate the people in this inn. But also because if he didn't, a something called 'Itinerant Peace' would probably determine he was causing trouble...

"This is your newly recruited disciples? Not bad. There are a few worthy seeds here, what a waste. With your sect's teachings, they aren't valued enough." Wu Wutian observed the group of disciples who had their heads down with sweat and evaluated them whimsically. In a single breath, he threw at Master Gu Ze a stack of notes. "Give everyone here this as my apology. It should be enough, right ?"
At the next moment, the lord thought a new idea: "How about this? I shall give you all this as an apology, isn't it a bargain ?" And in a single breath, he threw a stack of note in the air and it divided to fly towards everyone present, landing before their hands.

On it, the paper which seemed to be banknotes, had only three words. Martial Imperial Repository. In bronze.
"What... Is this ?" Tang Ling was confused.

"T-this is the Imperial Repository Bronze Level Pass !!!" someone exclaimed.

"Heavens! This was my younger days dream !"

"God! Thank you Manor Lord !!!" The commotions made from excitement started to make the entire establishment tremble. But it soon calmed, when the crowd noticed that he disappeared.

"Huff..." Tang Ling let a sigh out of relief. So this is the power level of this world? It is comparable to Orderers in his world! Of course, he couldn't directly compare these two because first, the power systems were different and two, in either case, he didn't have enough knowledge to comprehend the deep power that made these two great. All he knew were common knowledge about them; the former taught in school and the latter learned in the conversation between comrades.

'But this is some crazy power right here! Even the army of Gargoyles invading the city didn't seem as scary as him !'

But then, a strange voice which seemed to appear from nowhere, shocked him. It was from the alleged disappeared lord! It whispered two sentences :
"You're quite good; having a solid foundation. When you'll go to your martial library, go and learn Soul Blade and Aspect of A Leopard."

It dazed for a moment and Tang Ling then turned his head to see if it was real or a piece of his imagination. Three other disciples also heard, namely Feng Ci, Feng Cai and Nangong Xinyue. Perhaps they were the good seeds that Wu Wutian talked?

Tang Ling saw the supervisor nodding, expressing clearly that they should listen to what the old man said.

After much difficulty, the group left the inn and went to the martial library on the other side of the mountain. It was quiet with a few people meditating on couches and reading manuals standing.

"These people with a badge or any sign with a wind symbol are your senior brothers and sisters. There are also strangers, they've earned the right to enter the library. Promising and adventurous men we all have in the library." Gu Ze said as he showed the way. "The right side contains martial skills, the left movement skills and the center, defensive skills. At the end, you can find mental mantras. If you want to search for miscellaneous stuff, there's no real classification but it's besides the walls. "

Tang Ling observed the private library that the Wandering Sect had in its disposition. It was quite small with only a few bookshelves that really contained what everyone wanted and was comparable to the public library in Bao Feng City. It didn't say much because although Tang Ling would call the library small, he would know that knowledge is priceless and it's a lot of work and money for someone to collect this many books. And martial arts weren't cabbages sold on the street, they weren't bulls*** books that the officials bought to fill the book count and let the establishment feel more impressive than it should.
With only one look, Tang Ling was sure that the books here were pretty legit. The name of each skills seemed weird but the wear from constant use demonstrated its legitimacy.

There were six other variations of palm techniques, but it wasn't something that Tang Ling sought for.

Hidden under this seemingly prosperous modern world is a desolate and broken civilization, recovering from a deep wound. In this resource-poor world, natural resources are scarce and people compensate with strange alloys made of energy called 'Flux'.  What's more, looming over this peaceful scenery is these strange invasions of mutated creatures, capable of destroying buildings in a split second.

No one knows what life was before the Great Destruction, survivors from this era picked up some knowledge before rebuilding civilization creating this weird world where some fields are extremely advanced while others lag behind by three hundred years. Monarchy and Religion prevails in this seemingly modern world and powerful beings called 'Orderers' who protects the land that humanity has claimed are so powerful and their status so respected that it seems that they were simply a higher species than the common man. Inequality is so huge but nothing can be done, in front of those evolved humans, number is meaningless. Because they are stronger, capable of wiping out entire armies, they are respected and feared

Let us see what the main character can do in this chaotic era disguised as an orderly one, where mutated beasts run amok and human figures scheming against each other for more power and benefits, where unethical laws are put as well-intentioned ones and when it seems that God has abandoned this world for good! 

Chapter Update: Inconsistent, averaging 1 chap/month. This story has started a long time ago when my writing was a little bit immature so bear with it. The writing should be getting better as I get a clearer view of the world I want to create and build.

Shen Yanxiao was almost about to leave the lounge when she heard the word "Phoenix," her footsteps immediately stopped.

She truly didn't know what to think about this situation. Xiu had just told her that the Inflammation Grass was growing in the Phoenix's nest. And this night, she actually heard about some news about a Phoenix? In order to obtain the Inflammation Grass, Shen Yanxiao immediately decided to first listen to the young man's words, then she could make a plan later.

However…

Rank eight Phoenix?

According to what Xiu had said, Phoenixes would already be in the rank eight to nine when they were born. Then, could it be that the employer's goal was a newly born cub?

 

Shen Yanxiao slightly frowned, she felt something was wrong.

I grab my bag while scanning through today's schedule. "I've got a few good classes, at least. I just hope there isn't any exams today."

Locking the door, I take out my bicycle. Now, I just hope that there won't be much traffic this early in the morning, otherwise, I'll be late to class—which I definitely don't need, at least not today.

I was excited to attend my first literature class of the semester, so I left the house earlier than ever to get there a bit too early. I guess I am a little more than a bit too early. When I go to open the door to the classroom, it's locked. I glance at the time; there's still thirty minutes before class! Great, this always happens to me. I'm either too early, or too late; never on time. The least I can do is use my time doing something productive and not stand idly. I turn on my data—or try to? Why won't it turn on? Fuck. My data is finished. Great. Now I just hope that I have my headphones in my bag. Upon finding them, I plug them in and turn my music on.

As someone pokes me, I take off my headphones. "Hi," he says when I turn to look at him.

"Umm…hi," I try to manage a smile.

"New student?" He asks smiling.

"No, I'm not, but I'm guessing you are, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am." He says, then comes the famous 'awkward silence' moment. I can't wait to get out of this situation.

After a moment of silence, I put my headphones on and start listening to music again. A few minutes later, Ms. Wardwell comes and soon the class starts. Although, to my disappointment, we discuss nothing about new books, we spend the whole time discussing the syllabus and routine, as well as getting introduced to the new students.

"The 'new Anna', only existed for one day, " Ben says, grinning and quoting 'the new Anna' with his fingers. 

"It's not funny, Ben. I had class." He opens his mouth to say something, but before he can, I cut him off. "Don't say anything now, please." He  makes a puppy face but leaves me alone. 

"New project alert!" Bennett says as coming out of Mr. Raines room. "Our beloved boss wants us to make the covers for this book and report to him tomorrow, " He says, putting a file in front of me.

"We have to complete all this, by tomorrow?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.

"Yes," Ben goes through the file. 

"This is a lot," I whine. "I had morning classes. Now I'm working here until six, then I have a shift at the bookstore until ten. I'm already tired."

"It's okay, kiddo," Ben gives me a side hug. "We can work together tonight. At least it can be a bit less stressful that way. Plus, we'll be able to help each other out."

"Good point…but I'll be until ten tonight."

"No worries, we can start at eleven."

"Done, eleven p.m. at my house." I smile. 

"Done,"

"I'm so tired, " I say while picking up my stuffs. 

"Want to grab a coffee?" He puts his stuff in his bag.

"I don't think I have the time; my shift starts soon." 

"It's fine, I'll see you tonight." He gives me a tight hug.

"See you tonight." I reply, hugging him back.

It takes me almost an hour to reach the bookstore. "Hello, Evylnn," I greet the owner of the bookstore who passes me with a warm smile. 

"Tonight, you'll arrange the shelves in the left corner. Try to finish you work on time, dear." She arranges a few copies of the newly released books on the counter. "We will close early tonight." I nod and get started with my work.

My shift didn't go too bad. While arranging the books, I made a list of a few new books that caught my attention. Now, I have to wait for next month so I can buy them; I'm too broke to get them this month. Despite how tired I am, I let out a small sigh; I still have to work on the book covers.

Once home, I go directly to the bathroom, ready for a long bath. I really need to let my nerves go if I am going to work for the rest of the night.

The shower is relaxing, but I still can't help feeling tired, so I make myself a mug of coffee and open my laptop to read about the details of the books I have to make covers for.

Anna's the girl having only one friend all thorough out her life. She is scared of letting people in her life. But one night after a wrong call, everything changes. In the 9th of September, only ten days after he finalized his book deal, Topaz called him on his phone to inform that the printing is already in process and also started their small marketing campaign for the book. After he finished his classes, he met up with Chala at the Northwestern's front gate. He found Chala sitting on the stairs of the entrance with a gift box next to him. "Good afternoon, Chala. You didn't come to my gigs this week. Looks like you've been busy with Ms. Lei." Tayaw greeted Chala in jest. "Oh. I barely made progress with Ms. Lei. I actually had to check in on my other clients, and my place is also quite far from here." Chala explained, not minding the jest about Ms. Lei. "They're my copies?"  Tayaw asked as he looked at the box next to Chala. "Yes. 5 copies each of the two versions, specially packed for you by the folks at Topaz." Chala said, picking up the box. "It's a beautiful box, how nice of them." Tayaw  said as he sat down next to Chala and received the box. 
He opened the box and took one copy out and examined the cover. The entire book cover has a predominantly black background dotted with stars throughout, portraying a dark starry night. The front of the cover is a small full body portrait of a child sitting cross-legged on the floor reading an open book on his lap. There is what appears to be golden smoke coming from the open book from the child's lap that spreads up to form the letters for title of his book "GRIMM'S FAIRY TALES FOR CHILDREN". Surrounding the letters of the title are connected silhouettes of various characters from his fairytales, also formed by golden smoke. At the bottom of the front cover is his pen name written in golden cursive letters. "T.L.D. Grimmauld" is the pen name he came up with based on his own initials and a name of a place he found in another work he received from the mysterious roulette, The Boy with a Lightning Scar. It was a beautiful cover giving a feeling of dream-like fantasy. 
He then took out a copy of the Adults version from the box. It was not much different with the cover of the children's version. In place of a child sitting, is a side view of an adult man sitting on a chair leaned down reading a book on his lap.  Instead of golden smoke, the title and silhouettes are formed by normal white smoke "GRIMM'S FAIRY TALES FOR ADULTS". At the bottom of the front cover is his pen name written in silver cursive letters.  This book despite of similar format with the children's version, is giving out a mysterious dream-like feeling. 
He and Chala then went to visit three of East Ouigab's biggest book stores to see the posters advertising his book. The poster is quite huge at approximately 2m x 4m horizontal orientation that occupies the bookstores' front wall. The poster's background is based on the appearance of a white marble, a huge contrast with the actual cover of his book but gives out a similar feeling. "GRIMM'S FAIRY TALES, T.L.D. Grimmauld. Short stories for our generation" Written in the poster, in classy black semi-cursive, is the title of his book, his pen name, and a simple catchphrase. Next to the text of the poster is a photo of a hardcover copy of the children's version of his book. Tayaw appreciated both the covers of his books and the posters and gave a silent thanks to whoever designed them. 
A week later, in time for Tayaw's 17th birthday, Grimm's Fairy Tales hit the shelves of bookstores in Ouigab and other cities in the country. Tayaw, who didn't get to sleep smoothly during the previous night, is currently taking a shower as he got ready for the day. While eating at the dorm's dining area, he received a text of Chala that simply says "Congratulations on your debut, author." Tayaw smiled at the text message and replied "Thank you." 
The lectures of the day are just as uneventful as usual and Tayaw just listened carefully when needed. After having lunch, Tayaw found and empty classroom and took out a copy of both the children's and adults' version and thought for a moment. He then flipped over to the title pages of each book and neatly wrote down "To Ms. Nelly Lei, the first person to acknowledge me as an author. Tayaw L. Dagem." and signed it with his newly made-up autograph. 
After his lectures were done, he went to the Writers' Guild office at West Ouigab. Entering the office, he immediately looked at Ms. Lei's table to see Ms. Lei flipping over sheets of paper. He walked over to Ms. Lei's table and waited for a good timing. "Good afternoon, Ms. Lei. " Tayaw greeted Ms. Lei after she finally looked up from her table. "Oh. Tayaw. What do I owe your visit?" Ms. Lei asked, surprised of Tayaw's appearance. "I'm here for my promise, remember?" Tayaw said smiling as he pulled out two books from his backpack and laid them side by side over Ms. Lei's paperwork. Ms. Lei was pleased at the gesture and examined the books on her table. 
After bidding goodbye to Ms. Lei, he opened his phone and looked up for a nearby bookstore, only to give up on the idea and hailed a cab instead. He asked the driver to take him to the closest popular book store. The driver drove him to a strip mall that a branch of a nationwide stationery retail chain is located. He was pleased when he saw a small poster advertising his book is posted on the shop's store front. Even though the poster is only one of the many posted, he was satisfied of Topaz's marketing efforts.
 He walked past the stationery area to the book section in the back and found the shelf where his book is located. Despite the unassuming part of the store, there were some signs adorning the shelf that his books are on display. "24.99 BCG. 34.99 BGC." He read the price of the paperback and the hardcover versions respectively. There is also a woman in her 30s browsing the adults' version of his book. He pretended to browse the nearby books while secretly watching the reaction of to his books. After a few minutes, the woman returned the book to the shelf and moved on to her shopping. He was disappointed but stayed nonetheless for longer. A few minutes later, the woman browsing his book earlier returned to the shelf and took one copy of his book and put it in her shopping basket. It was just one sale but the satisfaction of watching someone buying the book gave Tayaw hope for his books to sell. 
He was distracted when somewhere on the corner of his vision, something was sparkling. "Oh! Tayaw, you dumb f*ck. How could you forget?"  He cursed himself. After adjusting the focus of his eyes, he was surprised by what he saw. 'View Points – 1279'. He was about to celebrate at the number but he suddenly realized that View Points does not mean sales, but the number of people who enjoyed reading at least a part of his book.  They did enjoy browsing the book, but were they intrigued enough to buy the whole book? Even if they bought his book, how many of the View Points are contributed by the children who listened at the adults who read them the stories in his book? 
He was interrupted from his thoughts when someone patted his shoulder by someone behind him. He turned around in confusion and looked at the person which turned out to be a clerk of the store judging from her uniform. "Is there anything you're looking for, sir?" The store clerk asked him. He realized he have must either appeared to be lost, or shoplifting. "Hello. Well, nothing in particular really. I'm just looking for stories I can tell the kids I'm tutoring in English." Tayaw replied. The shop clerk nodded and walked towards the shelf where his books are displayed and grabbed the reading copy of his book. "Here, sir. This is a compilation of fairy tales that are newly released. I have seen some of the stories and I think they're more special than the traditional fairy tales. I recommend you to buy this one." The clerk pitched his book to him, which made Tayaw feel funny. "I'll browse them first." Tayaw simply replied and the clerk left. 
While on his way back to East Ouigab, he was compulsively checking the 'View Points' in his vision. Since leaving the bookstore, the 'View Points' increased to 1322 from the previous 1279. He doesn't know how many cities Topaz decided to sell his books, but the view points surpassing a thousand in only eight hours since the book stores opened today is already impressive in his eyes.  Arriving at his station in East Ouigab, he headed straight to his dorm and picked up his guitar and continued his preparation of the songs he will perform later in the evening. His practice this day was unusually difficult for him and he could not even begin a single arrangement for the songs he planned to arrange. He simply could not concentrate as he is constantly checking the slowly increasing View Points. 
Arriving at ROH Factory at 4:45 PM, his stomach grumbled so he decided to go to a nearby snack stall to recharge his energy a little before heading in the bar. While walking back to the bar after his fill, he noticed that Chala's car was parked in front of the stationery store beside the bar. He knocked on the window by the front passenger's side to see if Chala is inside. A few seconds later, the window rolled down, to Tayaw's surprise, by a man with East Asian features who appears to be in his early 40s. "Hello." The man smiled at him as if he was familiar with Tayaw, to Tayaw's confusion. 
Chala leaned over from the driver seat. "Tayaw! It's still early! Get in the back seat!" Chala invited Tayaw inside the car. 
Laying his encased guitar and settling himself in the back seat, Tayaw is trying to remember if he ever met the man with Chala before. Judging by the man's appearance, he is either a Teungebian with East Asian features, or a foreigner. "Tayaw, meet Dae Ho Lee. Dae Ho, meet Chala." After Chala's introduction, he was reminded of the Korean name among the list of agents he e-mailed when he was looking for an agent. "Hello, Mr. Lee. It's a pleasure." Tayaw reached out his hand from the backseat, which Dae Ho firmly shook.

Tayaw is a talented musician who never got to fulfill his potential. After losing his purpose in an unfulfilled life full of regrets; he is given the chance to do everything over again. Along with a mysterious gift and an unclear mission, Tayaw starts a new life.
