Unfortunately, I wasn't playing Roblox today....those were my last words in life.

Why you may ask?

Well as the steel beam descended over me from the construction site of a skyscraper above, I thought fuck it, I'm about to die, why the fuck not.

So, 'Oof'

Those were my pessimistic self's last words as a steel beam rammed my cranium right into my spine until I was nothing but an audible 'splat' on the ground.

Now you may be thinking, why aren't you freaking out? What about your family and friends?

And I say right back at you, who gives a shit I'm dead anyways, doesn't matter anymore.

"HAHAHAHAH!"

Who's this fucker? 

"Boy, that's the best laugh I've had in millennia!"

"What? My Nihilism?"

"Haha, yes! Yes!"

Damn, fuck this guy.

I stop caring about the conversation then soon forget about this fellow and slowly drift off back into my pessimistic hibernation....

"Boy!"

"Boy!"

"Answer me, boy!"

I slowly pay attention once again, raising a brow while yawning,
"yyYYyyes...."

I finally look at what's been talking to me, I assume it's 'god' or something but I'm indifferent either way to be honest.

The being made up of glowing warm light that bathes over me finally speaks again,

"Haha, boy you have made me laugh! Thank you! I haven't enjoyed myself in a millennia! All other beings go to the afterlife of the respective religions in which they believe in! All, but you! Because you don't care about any!"

—Eh? The fuck. My indifference backfired? Shit! Where's my 72 virgins?!

Damn, played myself.

"But."

Hm? My ears perked at the word.

"I will reincarnate you into any world of your choosing with some randomly chosen powers!"

..ho?

That sounds fun I guess...

What should I choose...?

My mind wandered, still regretting missing out on my 72 virgins....not that I ever got 'sum' in life with my unappealing dead fish eyes and demeanor that looked like a slow hunchbacked moving corpse.

"Haha! Boy you keep making me laugh!"

Hmm....my second brain took hold for a bit and I started imagining the world with those big opais..

"Highschool DxD then!" The God shouts before I even continued my further higher brain functions.

Huh?! Fuck! Well too late, oh well....
Might as well try to get 'sum' this time.

Without dying I guess.....but it doesn't really matter to be honest....

"Hmm....you really need to fix that mentality of yours..."

"I doesn't matter.."

"Well....ok, lets get on to your powers!"

My ears perked once again! Powers! That sounds pretty nice.

"Can I get—"

THUDD!!

I flinched from the loud noise reminiscent of my untimely death.

"Ah, here we are!"

A giant roulette wheel was laid onto the 'ground' in front of me.

I raise a brow while looking into it...

Damn!

I begin to read the categories, and some of them are OP as fuck!

Damn! I could laze around all day and do nothing with those!

"Haha, lets spin the wheel, shall we?"

I might be indifferent on almost anything, but even I couldn't help but leak out some excitement! I loved to watch different animes and movies in between my days of monotony.

Soon 'God' snaps his finger causing it to start spinning rapidly, my breaths hasten on each tic as the wedge rapidly hit the stoppers.

Soon the wheel slowed and it reached its chosen category....

'Powers and Skills from a Media Character.'

Eh? What's this?

"Interesting Haha! You get the skills, memories, and powers of any media character!"

Oh I can finally pick something for myself...

THUDD!!

Damn.

Another wheel was set to replace the first's place, I started to inspect it as well.

Like the one before, it was humongous, every section not even an inch in width. I couldn't read all the selections even if I wanted to, they numbered in the millions.

Soon enough, it started spinning just like before...

Please give me Goku or someone OP as shit.....

I don't want to actually work for anything.

And the spinner ended, the text was too small for me to read, even the godly being next to me had to look up close,

"Hmmmm, Emiya Shirou." He says with a weary smile.

"FUCK!" I couldn't resist but yell out. I have just gotten pretty much the weakest fucker from Fate. Fuck my luck is shit...like always.

I look at the godly being with pleading eyes, like a newborn son getting throw in the trash,

"Please let me go again.."

He gives a conflict look before finally giving off a sigh, "Fine. You did make my day and I can tell you haven't had much of a good life, I'll let you roll two more times."

Pffew, I let out a sigh of relief I couldn't even tell I was holding in, why was I so relieved, did it really matter..?

I push my conflicted feelings away and watch as the roulette begins to spin once again.

'Tic'

'Tic'

'Click'

The roulettes stopped.

"Link, The Hero of the Wild."

!?

Link!...from the Legend of Zelda?

"Yep, you got Link, more accurately the Link from The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild."

Not bad....Link was a fucking super prodigy in that game.

Lost all of his memories and still became a master swordsman, has insanely strong physical strength, can slow down his own perception of time, fuck he even destroyed a guardian with a fucking pot lid.

Crazy motherfucker, I'm fine with him. Better than fucking EMIYA that's for sure.

"Haha, alright next!"

The wheel once again spun,

'Tic'

The godly being leaned in to read with his chin resting on his hand,

"Namikaze Minato."

Damn, The Yellow Flash. Not bad, not bad. Sucks I didn't get anyone really OP but, at least I can teleport while in combat and have loads of experience.

The godly being looks over at me, "Well that's all of it! I'm going to send you over now! Oh, wait! Which one would you like to have the appearance of?"

Hmm, well Link is out, how am I supposed to get 'sum' as a four foot elf. So EMIYA or Minato...Fuck EMIYA,

"Minato."

"Very well." He responds as he proceeds to snap his fingers,

"Good luck at your new life and I hope you can find purpose there."

I look over at the godly being who did all this for me because I simply gave him a laugh. 

What I do next surprises not only him but me as well, I give him probably the first genuine smile I've given in years before saying,

"....thank you."

It wasn't very difficult for Zero to understand how the game of chess worked. In fact, he had some practice playing it with his mindscape assistants. Mii and Wii proved to be tough competition combined. The sisters were able to calculate in advance the moves Zero would make and create strategies to counter Zero's moves. It frustrated the teen a lot how they were always steps ahead of him.
While Zero physically slept, he was kept busy in the mindscape playing chess and several other strategy games with his assistants. For some odd reason, Zero thought it was a brilliant idea to play with both Mii and Wii at the same time. The sisters thought that Zero had lost his mind in a high-speed game with Wii based on accumulated experiences and a careful approach with Mii who was constantly baiting Zero. The stress Zero felt was incomparable to the kind of training Merlin and Hua Tuo subjected him to.
Poseidon was pleasantly surprised to see that Zero was able to cope with his advanced methods the next morning and decided to change his tactics. If Zero was able to understand the fundamentals of chess and could utilise each piece to their maximum potential, he was ready for the next stage.
Needless to say, the first twenty games with Poseidon resulted in a landslide victory to the blind titan who had to stop for the day because Zero looked like a possessed person starving of victory. The competitive spirit reminded Poseidon very much of Athena in her youth before she debuted as a war goddess.
Zero was reluctant but he knew that he still had his part of the deal to uphold. "I will be taking the afternoon off. If there is a sudden drop in seawater levels, please do not be alarmed. I'm only going to take what I need to create a small piece of land for testing. If it is to your satisfaction, we can always expand it."
Poseidon didn't say much and nodded, sending a few of his servants to follow Zero just in case but the young doctor dismissed them.
"It's dangerous so I will be going alone. You can send some servants to watch from afar if you are curious but please have them evacuate immediately should there be any signs of danger."
Nobody argued with Zero and they let the strange human swim away. Poseidon decided to contact a long time acquaintance for the first time in many years. Zero had better be thankful that he was willing to pull strings for his sake.
In the ancient library, Swift was still translating the text when she felt her mark flare. Someone was calling for her and the harpie raised a brow.
"Sorry Isis, I think I will have to continue this another time. Business calls," she informed apologetically and accepted the summon, teleporting in a flash.
Isis didn't appear too surprised. Instead, she smiled. If Zero continued walking this path, she had faith that he could accomplish what his alternate selves couldn't. Solo might have laid the plans carefully but this time, Zero was a wild horse who was capable of foiling them. For a stubborn titan like Poseidon to call for help on his own volition could only mean that Zero has succeeded once more in gaining a new ally. Everyone in Heaven knows about this grumpy old and blind titan who decided to isolate himself in a dead planet after he found out about Athena's death. It was an open secret that Poseidon harboured secret feelings for his niece but was unable to admit them simply because he didn't want to be known as a cradle robber. Isis found it strange that Poseidon thought about it this way. As gods, it was common for them to procreate with their siblings or fall in love with their family. Poseidon must have spent too much time walking among humans to have such a silly notion ruining his entire life.
The Goddess of Time sighed. It doesn't matter anymore. What is done is done and even if she rewound back time, nothing would change. Both Athena and Poseidon were too stubborn. They were more alike than they thought and for that very reason, that love of theirs couldn't bear fruit. Isis looked at the hourglass in the library and sighed. At the very least, now that Zero was there, they could find closure and move on.
Poseidon sent all his servants away when he felt the harpie arriving. Carlsen protested a little but when his master sent them out of the room forcefully and erected a barrier to get rid of all the water in the room, the turtle understood the importance of this new guest. The loyal servant was slightly worried even though a part of him was happy to see his master acting more like himself back when he was still a powerful Great God. The arrival of that strange human-like child might be a good thing after all.
Swift appeared from a vortex and sneezed. It had been so long since she was invited to a water planet and the humidity made her feathers feel sticky. Poseidon must have cleared out the room especially for her and the universal librarian bowed before the titan.
"Greetings, God of Oceans. It's been a while since we last saw each other. How have you been?"
Poseidon wasn't one to indulge in pleasantries and grunted in response. "Save it, harpie. I see that you haven't lost your glib tongue. I've summoned you for a job, this may be my last job request for you."
Swift was surprised. "Oh? Are you finally going to retire? Why so sudden? Even if you didn't do anything, you would still be able to enjoy the next thousand years in recluse on Hyacinth."
The blind titan made a face. "I don't have the next thousand years to enjoy. Think of it like a dying man's last charge. I'm putting all my hopes on this strange individual that crash-landed on my planet a few days back. You can say that I've taken a liking to him in the same way that my brothers had."
Swift paused and thought for a while. Her eyes widened and a wide grin broke out on her face. "You've met Zero!"
Poseidon neither confirmed nor denied it which made Swift very excited. Who would have thought that her messaging buddy would be causing literal waves the moment he left Heaven? Everyone knew that Poseidon was like a hibernating bear. You wouldn't go near him unless you were seeking death. If Zero could move this immovable mountain enough for him to make the first contact, Swift was certain that Poseidon would return to Heaven once more.
"Do I need to send someone to clean up your old temple in Heaven? It might not have been very well maintained but I can assure you that the remaining Great Gods have taken very good care of it. Zero has recently restored Mount Olympia and Eros is reforesting it so you'll be able to enjoy watching life return to your former home. What do you say?"
Poseidon sighed. "As it is, I won't be able to leave Hyacinth, much less travel to Heaven. It's vexing to admit it but I'm no longer the powerful Great God I used to be. I feel bad for pushing all the responsibilities to Sedna but even if I feel like sharing her burden, I simply cannot. The old Earth was destroyed and all the people who worshipped me are gone. My divine powers are dwindling, I can only ask for a favour from you to retrieve all the books I wrote in my prime. I want to pass on what I know to this promising young man while I can still walk."
Swift was speechless. "Is it really that bad?"
Poseidon said nothing and the harpie held back tears. "I-I understand. Is there anything else I can do for you not as a librarian but as a friend of the old times?"
The blind titan thought about it. "I'd like to taste more of the cuisines in La Boutique that Zero boasted about. If I'm going to disappear, I want to enjoy something more than just bitter and salty tea. And if it isn't too much to ask, I want to send a letter to a few old friends."
Swift nodded. "Of course, whenever you are ready. I shall leave now to make preparations. I'm assuming you want to keep this a secret from Zero?"
Poseidon nodded. "I shall summon for you again in a week. Is that sufficient time to gather all the books?"
"Of course! In fact, it can be done in four days. I will talk to Isis about the cuisine in La Boutique and make arrangements. Is there anything in particular that you want to try first?"
The God of Oceans grinned. "Barbarian Roasted Veal Steak. Braised mountain goat loins. Rosary Salad. Strawcherry Shake with whipped cream and crushed chocolate. Lemon Meringue. Mint and Caramel Sherbet. Tiramisu Cake."
Swift didn't know to laugh or cry at the menu. She felt like a waitress taking down orders but still complied. Zero's presence could certainly be felt from the long list of food Poseidon wanted to eat. The teen was quite the foodie and his palate was very experienced from participating in the Mega Gourmet Competition as well as being a regular at La Boutique. She was sure that being friends with Beelzebub only made Zero's love for food increase exponentially.
"Understood, I will make the arrangements. Until next time," Swift bowed and left as quickly as she arrived.
Sensing that the guest was gone, Poseidon lifted the barrier and allowed Carlsen back into the room. "How is Zero doing?"
The armoured turtle was a little nervous. "About that, master... He is indeed absorbing the ocean but I have been receiving many complaints about Zero's recklessness even if he is about a thousand kilometres away from the temple. The citizens were terrified when several whirlpools suddenly appeared and sucked everything in the vicinity of a few hundred metres into them. As per your orders, the servants have issued a notice and evacuated the area but Zero is simply too powerful. Homes have been destroyed in the process and the seabed looks very different now after a part of it has been ripped out."
Poseidon didn't comment about it. "Tell the servants to evacuate a greater area and settle the homeless nearer to the temple. There shouldn't be anyone near a few hundred kilometres of Zero as he works. The boy is going to create land, he needs a lot of space."
Carlsen lowered his head respectfully and swam away to inform the rest of the servants. Things were going to be very busy for the next few days but everyone was excited about it. The legend about 'land' was still fresh in everyone's minds ever since Poseidon announced it yesterday. For creatures to be able to out of the water and bask under the warmth of the sun was like a dream come true. To be able to escape this dark depths and live under the light on 'land' was an opportunity to die for. Before even Poseidon released the command, Carlsen was bombarded by a long list of names for creatures volunteering to live on that newly created land.
Still, Poseidon said nothing about it. The excitement was contagious and news spread very quickly. While Zero worked on accumulating enough water to create land, he found that water was a very weak substance.
"Mii, is there any way we can make the conversion rate more efficient? Going by the current trend, I think the sea would be emptied before even I can create a continent!"
The strawcherry fairy glared at her master. "Unless you count on digging up the surface of this planet, there isn't another way. Hyacinth's planet is dying. The core is very weak which is why there are no volcanoes present. It's a water planet for good reasons, evolutions have stopped here and the only reason why life exists is thanks to Poseidon's mana supporting them."
Wii tried to ease the tension between her older sister and her master. "It wouldn't hurt if we got the materials for other sources, right? Instead of draining the ocean on Hyacinth, we could borrow some space rocks to make up for the material density."
Zero thought about it as he continued to absorb water and Mii frowned. "How are we going to get that many space rocks? Zero intends to make land and not just an island."
While his mindscape assistance discussed and debated, Zero tried to recall where he read about a treasure mine of ruins in space that he could recycle materials.
He sighed. "If only I can remember the name of that space ruin... I might be able to visit it to clean it out for materials to build land on Hyacinth..."
Hearing that, Lily tapped into Wii's knowledge and tried to find a location match in the system. The map function created from Zero's knowledge was very brief but it was good enough for them to have a general idea of where they wanted to go.
"I know!" Lily shrieked triumphantly. "Gummer! We can go to Gummer ruins to clear out the broken ruins of the old solar system. Shittomi told us that Gummer was one of the places that Gugu and Jevy fought, resulting in great destruction. It was a great shame that Gummer was reduced to ruins that nobody could do anything about but that's perfect for what we need right now."
Zero cheered up at the idea. Mii and Wii stopped fighting and the strawcherry fairy looked at Lily proudly. "I like the idea."
"Me too," Wii agreed and Zero laughed.
"Alright, let's make some plans. To Gummer, we go!"

A young man, with dark circles around his eyes, can be seen rapidly typing, filling up his blinding-white computer screen with code. It seemed like dark-mode wasn't invented in his version of modern Earth, but that didn't matter.

All that mattered was that he was almost finished with the newest, most hyped update on his fully solo-developed VRMMORPG game. 

{To add further detail, he handmade the first couple 3D assets for the monsters and NPCs, before letting an open-source A.I. (that he contributed plenty to) scan his assets then it would generate an infinite number of new assets for Iven to choose from.}

"Hah... I'm finally finished with optimizing everything," Iven spoke softly as he took the last sip of coffee from his cup. 

Now that he was done with the hard part, he just needed to test the new features before he would wipe every player's data, due to the sheer scale of the update.

"I couldn't have done this without you, my friend," Iven said as he lifted his coffee cup, almost like he found it from a large chest in Legend of Zelda, before gently placing it down on his desk and standing up.

He skillfully navigated through the many empty 'Cup Noodles' cups on the floor before wearing the V.R. Headset that was placed on his bed.

However, instead of spawning in the middle of a busy starter town, Iven was startled when he noticed that he spawned inside a building, and was even more surprised when he saw the few dozen kids, that were eating food at the tables.

'I'm sure that I didn't add any NPC below the age of 18 to my game, Strange...' Iven thought.

Iven's first action was opening his Menu to see if he could log out.

He tapped the grayed-out 'Log Out' button a few times just to make sure, before giving up.

The kids dressed in gray uniforms looked at Iven, a fellow kid, strangely since he'd been standing there for a good few minutes now.

After hearing his stomach rumble along with feeling quite hungry, Iven finally noticed the warm food on the wooden plate, that he was holding this whole time, before walking towards the table with the least number of kids.

He almost tripped and fell since he wasn't used to his new height, and then ignored the couple of giggles he heard from some of the kids who were paying attention.

Iven sat at the edge of the table and inspected the food on the plate, before looking back up and seeing that the kid that was meant to be sitting on the opposite end of the table was now sitting next to him, but wasn't too close to make it awkward.

"Hello! My name's Urushi! Why haven't I seen you before?" A near 6-year-old kid energetically introduced himself to Iven, before continuing without giving him time to answer his question, "This is my friend Kabuto."

Iven looked at the four-eyed kid on the other side of the table, who gave a slight wave at him.

"My name's Iven, I'm new here," He said as he waited to see if the Urushi kid's A.I. could actually converse in real-time with him.

Iven's game didn't have NPCs with A.I. that could do any more than just respond to an extensive database of keywords in terms of dialogue, but it was far from passing a proper touring test.

"It's nice to meet you, Iven. I can show you around the orphanage when it's recess time," Urushi said, before looking at Kabuto and loudly whispering, "Did you already forget what Nonō-san taught us?"

"Oh... It's nice to meet you, Iven," Kabuto spoke before he looked back and saw Uruchi's thumbs up.

"Nice to meet the both of you," Iven said with a smile before he began to chow down on the food in front of him.

As he ate, Iven began thinking, 'It's most likely that I've been transmigrated into another world, like those main characters from novels, but I'm not sure...'

'No matter what the deal is, I'm stuck in this place... At least I came to this unfamiliar world with something I'm very familiar with,' Iven thought, referring to his system.

While he ate the adequate-tasting food, Iven opened his Menu, using an out-of-body muscle reserved for this single task, then immediately opened his stats using another muscle, feeling glad that his muscle-bindings were saved.

'Mana was replaced with... Chakra? Must be another Japanese word, just like the names of these two kids,' Iven thought, wondering if he should've made up a Japanese name to fit in better with them. It felt weird listening to them, everything they said was translated to English, but the names and honorifics they used remained unaltered.

Iven didn't bother checking the rest of the Menu since he knew that he needed to unlock at least one skill to activate the Skill Tree, same for the Proficiency Tree, and needed SP to buy from the Skill Shop.

As soon as he finished his food, Iven heard a bell and noticed the kids hastily getting up and returning their plates.

Iven followed suit and returned his empty plate then thanked the portly orphanage caretaker for the food, before meeting up with Urushi and his quiet friend, Kabuto.

Urushi did as he said he would do, and showed Iven around the orphanage.

During this little tour, Iven and Kabuto laughed several times at Urushi's antics, and they all enjoyed the short hour of recess time they were given.

'I haven't felt the need for coffee for a while, I usually still feel it even in-game,' Iven thought, further supporting, in his mind, the possibility that he might've been transmigrated to another world.

Once it was bedtime, Urushi said to Iven, "I got an empty bed above mine, you can sleep there!"

Iven nodded and followed Urushi, while letting his eyes wander around the orphanage room hallway, and Kabuto did the same even though he'd already seen it hundreds of times. 

When he arrived at the room, Iven climbed the bunk bed and fell asleep soon after they each finished saying their goodnights.

A forest. A girl was laying down in a forest, the sun heavily beating down against her face. She let out a small snore and turned onto her side. 

"Hey, listen!" A voice called out. The girl frowned and rubbed her eyes, but continued to sleep.

"Hey, listen!" The shrill, squeaky voice sang. She groaned and rolled over, attempting to shut out that familiar, yet annoying shrill.

"Hey, listen!" Again and again, the singing, cheerful thing wouldn't stop. She covered her ears and curled up on the forest floor. Her cowardly self didn't bother to try and snuff out the source of the voice itself. Curling up, taking the hits, pretending to be weak.

It was pathetic of her.

When the voices finally overcrowded her small mind, she opened her eyes.

The last thing she saw was startling crimson eyes before darkness overcame her.

Alice woke up with a slight scream. She quickly covered her mouth and took three deep breathes, feeling shaken up by the dream she just experienced. The nagging voice of "Hey, listen!" was just a line of Navi from The Legend of Zelda. The crimson eyes on the other hand... They felt real. As though one glance could put you on the spot, unable to run because of the paralyzing fear coursing through the body. 

She sighed. It was just a dream. It didn't have any significant value to her what-so-ever. She glanced at her alarm clock.

7:00AM on the dot.

Sighing, she got out from her comfy bed and quickly prepared for school. After grabbing some bread from the kitchen counter, she headed out the door.

The locker bay area was already full by the time she entered the school. Several other students were at their lockers, some hanging out with the friends, some sitting further away from such friend groups. Alice heads towards her locker, dodging and pushing past her acquaintances that crowded the area. As she turned her lock, she eavesdropped over other's conversations.

"Have you seen the new event?! It's so trash."

"They did surgery on a grape."

"Look, she's impossible! I've tried reasoning with her multiple times, but nothing seems to get through!"

The usual discussion, Alice thought as she slipped off her boots and put on her indoor shoes. After placing her lunchbox in her locker, she shut it, locked it, and sat down. She took out her phone and began scrolling through social media and other nonsense.

"Miracle Raising Project" Now Gone - No comments from the company.

She scrolled. She had no interest in a dead game.

I NEARLY GOT KIDNAPPED?!?!! STORYTIME!

She stared at the image for a bit. It was pathetic; A girl looking surprised and a suspicious-hooded guy crappily photoshopped in front of a house. And of course, it had tons of views with a rather balanced out like-dislike ratio.

"I never knew you were into clickbait." A voice coming above from her spoke.

Alice looked up and sighed. A tall male figure was standing over her, smirking slightly. She tried to hide her phone by covering the screen.

"It just happened to be there." She mumbled.

The male smirked slightly and left. Over to his other friends, she could hear him whisper 'Alice is into clickbait. It's true! She was looking at it before.' Alice sighed. It was unfortunate that he was spreading rumours as such when they were "friends". In fact, it was unfortunate that she ended being dragged into the social group by the likes of him. She stood up and walked over to the boy.

"As I said, I don't like clickbait. I just happened to be looking at it."

The boy turned around and raised an eyebrow.

"Well, there's no need to get all sensitive about it. I never said you liked clickbait in the first place." he clicked his tongue. The warning bell rang, signalling five minutes before class starts. The friend groups began to break off, each individual heading to their own class.

"That's the warning bell. See ya, Alice!" The boy waved and walked away. Sighing, Alice walked to her own class.

Class was boring. The teacher did nothing but drone on and on about integrals and other mysterious calculus things. Alice looked around and could see several other students secretly checking their phones, or just not paying attention in general. Being the very good student she was, she pulled out her phone and droned out the lesson in front of her. A notification popped up on her phone.

[MIRACLE RAISING PROJECT: Become a miracle for others!]

Alice frowned. Wasn't that app removed from the APP STORE? She had no recollection of actually installing the app itself, legally or not. She hesitatingly pressed the notification, launching the game. Strangely enough, the game did its usual download process and connected to the server. Once finished, she pressed the "start" button.

The bell rang. She quickly stashed her phone in her pocket and exited the classroom.

The day went by rather quickly. She didn't bring up this whole "Miracle Raising Project" to her friends. She was feeling a little ecstatic of having something they couldn't possibly have. She rushed home, heading up to her room and flopping onto her bed. She pulled out her phone and continued to play her game.

She quickly typed in a rather boring nickname; "Alice123". She clicked enter and continued on playing the game.

The game was like a regular role-playing gacha game. Defeat enemies, save up on special gems, draw for rare characters. She continued playing, getting bored of the repeated format. After clearing stage 25, she sighed. Wasn't there anything else to do on here? She tapped around, going to social boards and chats. Except there was no one. No one showed up as online except for her. Even the chats were dry and dead. Alice sighed. If there was no one to play with, then there wasn't really any point of continuing the game... Games were only fun if you play them with other people.

Sighing, she threw her phone to the said and thought about her day. The boy from her clickbait incident, Eric, constantly spread rumours, and everyone lapped them up regardless of whether it was true or false. Alice hated the way her "friends" acted. Believing in such rumours when there was no solid proof. Taking advantage of each other, both academically and mentally. It was disgusting. She rolled over, her eyes getting heavy. Soon enough, she drifted off to sleep.



Minutes after she drifts off, a notification pops up on her phone; it's from Miracle Raising Project.

『WHITE RABBIT HAS INVITED YOU TO TEATIME! ACCEPT INVITATION?』

The world is unfair for the unfortunate. A mysterious app is downloaded. A new world of opportunities and magic is being created. The arrogant and self-absorbed are punished. It's a miracle within a hellish world. Or is it?

Once Harry is in the car I have to ask "So, how well did the pacifying charm work?"

Harry ponders a bit "The charm worked… kind of. But they still were nasty people, they locked Hedwig in that cage. She was only allowed out for an hour a day."

Ron chimes in "Is that why you haven't been replying to our letters?"

Harry looks confused "Your letters? I haven't gotten any letters all summer, I thought you guys forgot about me."

Ron and I look at each other confused "Hermione, Ron and I have sent at least 10 letters to you. Hermione wanted to send more to make sure that you're okay but I was against it. Wouldn't want your aunt and uncle to get annoyed at all the letters." I say looking back at Harry.

"Then what happened to the letters?" Harry questions.

Fred speaks up "Maybe someone's targeting you, Harry."

George turns around and makes ghost noises "WooOWOoooo, maybe it's a ghost."

I roll my eyes as everyone else laughs "But he is right Harry there could be someone targeting you."

"But who would want to target me? I don't think I have done anything." Harry says confused.

I gesture towards his scar "There are a few I could think of."

Ron and Harry gasp "You think it could be 'you know who'?" Harry asks.

"Of course not, but it could be one of his leftover lackeys." Ron and Harry nod.

George turns around again "What's with all this talk. We are kidnapping Harry for your birthday let's have fun."

I smile "You're right." I look at Ron and Harry "I got a cool game for when we get to my house."

The rest of the car ride we just talked about our summers so far. I told them about Luar's new stables and Shy's new perch hanging from my ceiling. 

Harry said he was studying the whole time since the only books he had were textbooks. I told him we can stop by Diagon Alley tomorrow morning if he wanted to but he declined. So we decided to go later this summer and he will just read my books until then.

Once we got back to my house Fred and George went back to the burrow. They said they don't want to hang out with kids for any longer than promised. 

I bring Harry and Ron with me downstairs to ask Auntie if they can stay the night. I've heard parents are more likely to say yes if their child isn't the one to ask. Therefore I waited until now to tell the truth, better to ask forgiveness than permission right?

When we get downstairs Auntie and Uncle are at the table talking to each other. As Uncle Ted notices us he gives a knowing smile and motions to get up. Auntie just watches confused as he just walks away mid-conversation whistling into the afternoon sun.

She turns around and see's the three of us as realization dawns on her face. The realization comes to a glare… at me.

"Mind telling me what's going on?" She asks me.

Harry speaks up "Ma'am, Ron and I were wondering if we could stay the night tonight?"

She smiles at Harry "Of course you dears can." She looks at me "But first I'll need an explanation."

She begins her interrogation "This is your friend Harry, Correct?" I nod "He lives in LONDON, Correct." I nod again. "Now tell me, how in the world did a 12-year-old get to London and back before lunchtime?"

I  look her dead in the eyes with raised eyebrows "Through the power of friendship and magic."

She pulls on my cheeks "Ow, stop it Auntie, I'm just kidding." 

"Well continue, the truth now." She says still tugging on my cheeks. 

"We took Mr. Weasley's flying car to London to pick up Harry," I say slightly slurred since she is pulling my cheeks. 

She lets go of my face and leans back into her chair "Oh no, my boy's only 12 and already a car thief."

I raise my finger "I'm only 11 until tomorrow."

She smacks the side of my head softly and glares at me "That is not better."

Ron speaks up "Technically my older brothers took the car and we only went with them." Ron looks at me as I give him two thumbs up.

Auntie sees my thumbs up and smacks the back of my head. She rubs her temples as she thinks.

Seeing her in thought Harry speaks up "He only did it to save me from my aunt and uncle." I give him two thumbs up as well.

She sighs, "You're lucky it's your birthday tomorrow. You will have to help cook diner tonight though."

I nod as all three of us run back upstairs. As we get back in my room I begin to show them what I bought a few days ago. From my Mokeskin bag, I pull out a large tv that was annoying to hold and a SNES. 

Ron looks confused but Harry's eyes go wide. "Is that a SNES? Dudley has one of those. I heard they are super expensive."

Ron looks even more confused as I reply "Harry, both you and I are rich… did you forget that?"

He looks a bit embarrassed "Yeah, a bit actually."

Ron finally speaks up "So, what is it?"

"Sorry, forgot you're from a full wizard family. This is a SNES, a muggle video game machine, and this is a tv, it makes moving pictures a lot like magic. Here I'll set it up and show you how to use it." After that, I spend an hour of my life trying to explain how a television works when I myself don't know much. 

Don't get me started on trying to explain what video games are. I got Ron to start playing Legend of Zelda: A link to the past. When I finally look back at Harry he is just staring into the Foe-glass.

As I approach Harry speaks up "What are these figures I see?" 

I sigh "This is called Foe-glass, it shows you the outlines of your enemies. The more clear they appear the closer they are. How many do you see?"

Harry nods as he stares into the mirror "I see only two. but it's quite blurry. One of the two looks like it is somehow split… Why do you have this."

I shrug "Well I mean I didn't know how many enemies I had until I looked at it. So I decided it was best to keep an eye on them."

Seeing he didn't move and kept staring I grabbed his shoulder "Come on, I can't watch Ron die in another dumb way. It's your turn to play."

He nods.

Dementors are personified depression, soul-devouring creatures with little intelligence. What would you do if you woke up in the body of one?

2 chapters a week Monday and Thursday

Eranoth laughed to himself as he looked over the topics of the chapter he was actively typing. "One is like changing your cloths the other isn't even technically shapeshifting, it is simply making others perceive you are, well mostly..."
"Let's start with Exo-shifting. First and foremost, this form of shapeshifting is usually considered one of the 'safest' forms of shapeshifting as there are no changes to your existence (Identity, soul, etc) through this method."
"Exo-shifting is usually performed by placing another object onto yourself. Remember my earlier chapter about thief-shifting and the skinwalker? The skinwalker's thief shifting also falls under this category."
"However, let us discuss a more manageable version of this without getting so dark. In The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask, Link undergoes quite a bit of Exo-shifting. Through the use of soul infused masks, he is able to change his outward appearance to a deku-shrub, a goron, a zora, and some sort of angry demon god. 
When the game first begins, the exo-shifting traps poor link into the body that overlaps him. This can make a good character motivator. But know that if used improperly it can also give off a feeling of doom and lead a character to give up on any chance of returning to normal. In the game, they introduce a quest to save the character from their trapped state in order to motivate them into action.
Later, after the trap is over, he gains the ability to remove the masks on his own. Many have issue with this type of 'mask removal because it is essentially taking off your face. In other stories that use this type of shifting, many times it is a time based transformation that will automatically end after a certain duration of time." 
"Exo-shifting does not have to be masks. It can be any sort of overlap shifting. Take the 90s-early 2000s cartoon Ben 10. He gains a special watch that allows him to shapeshift into various aliens. If you watch how the transformations take place, it is putting on the shell of the alien with a portion of the mental instincts attached so he can control his new body easier. 
The most dangerous part of exo-shifting is the fact that familiarity is almost always at 0% unless some sort of instinct is introduced. If instinct is introduced, that mental shift can sometimes influence later actions on a subtle level especially if you use the same transformation repeatedly."
Alchemical shifting is not exo-shifting. Alchemy changes the state of being rather than changes the cloths temporary or not.
Whoo! Now to talk about the not really shapeshifting but often used power of illusions! As well as one of the few ways to actually have a shapeshifting effect caused by illusions.
"Illusion-shifting as the name clearly states is the use of illusions to 'shift'. Illusion-shifting is a bit more complex than just casting a simple illusion. You have to use the power of illusion to trick the other senses as well."
"Illusions rely heavily on the power of belief. The mind is very complex and has an interesting quirk. IF you 100% believe you have been hit by something, it will have hit you even if it doesn't exist. Illusions can't replicate a physical form, however it can be used to touch the nerves of the eyes, eardrums, nose, skin, and tongue. By doing so you are replicating a full sensation of the object. An illusion can hit you and it will hurt because it feels real. 
To explain the illusion concept a bit more clearly I will use a non-shifting example. An illusion sword comes into contact with a person. Their nerves respond to it because that is how illusion magic functions. If they believe the sword is real, it will 'cut them'. Or more accurately their body will harm itself because it thinks it was harmed by an external source. 
Most Illusion shifting is mealy using the above trick to cause the viewer to perceive something as it is not."
"And now we switch to the opposite side of illusion shifting. This is actually a very mean illusion. This drastically messes with the mind of the victim.
Targeted Illusion shifting. Illusionist uses illusion to target all 5 (or 5+ Senses) of a target and surrounding bystanders. That target falls under the illusion their body is undergoing a transformation. Sadly, this cannot be used on oneself because your knowledge of it being an illusion from the start will ruin the effect.
If the illusionist can convince the brain of the target they are truly undergoing the transformation, the victim's mind and body will respond accordingly. 
Example, illusionist targets a person and uses an illusion to make that person see, hear, feel, etc transforming into a werewolf. In the person's panic, if the illusion can convince the brain the transformation is real, the victim will actually physically transform into a werewolf. 
This type of illusion shifting is not easy to pull off. And usually requires convicting more than just the victim the transformation is real. The illusionist has to pay attention to a large number of details to maintain the illusion. If the victim speaks because their face has changed, the illusionist has to change what everyone hears coming out of their mouth. If someone hits their tail, the sense of touch has to register heavily enough to convince the brain the tail is real.
As the illusion nears the conclusion of the transformation there is a whole lot less to worry about as the victim's physical body has matched the transformation. 
If the victim becomes aware of the illusion mid-transformation the mind and body will revert because the power of belief no longer holds it there. 
However, if the transformation completes or the illusion ends and the victim remains unaware for a time, the effects stay. Learning that it was originally an illusion will no longer force snap them back as they are also aware their transformation was also real. In some cases, the illusionist can even end the illusion early and the body will keep transforming because the belief becomes that strong.
A bit of warning though if you use this type of shifting. 
1:The mind and soul will end up clashing with the new body unless they experience something else to get their mind and soul to harmonize. 
2:This type of shapeshifting is typically harmful to the target and not usually used to help others. However there are always exceptions.
3: Applying hypnosis during this process will increase the speed of the transformation and can also cause the mind to adapt to the new body faster. Hypnosis puts the sub-conscious and the conscious brains at the same speed or suppressing the conscious brain allowing the target to become more susceptible to the influence of illusions.

Note: Due to the nature of the book, there is very little 'story' but I have tried to break it up a bit with story to make it less of a straight info dump.

I awoke the next morning with a dull ache on my temples, thanks in large part to the VR gear,  I wearily got up, yawned, and shuffled my way into my kitchen.
 while I was still rubbing the sleep from my eyes I started to brew myself a pot of coffee. as I sat there listening to the coffee gurgle and sputter into the pot I was trying to work out how yesterday had went so wrong and what to do next.

sure it was easy to blame BabySparrow for not being diligent enough, but that wasnt really fair I mean back before i met these three i hacked plenty of stuff on my own and never needed anyone to "watch my back". 

no the only excuse I could give myself is that I had grown lazy and careless since joing up with Fried, Soft, and Baby, I put too much emphasis on everyone doing their part and not enough on handling it myself. 

and now because of that we were not only forced to be lab rats for an untreated game, but worse of all my VR gear that I spent most of my college life at M.I.T perfecting, has now been just given to Alcon and that damned Computer Eden. 

when my coffee was done I poured it all into my large coffee Mug, with 2 scoops of sugar and some vanilla coffee creamer. 

I went to my computer desk and turned on the computer screen, normally I use the VR gear but between my headache and what happened yesterday I thought it better if I didnt.

I pulled open my desk drawer and fumbled around for a thumb drive, I selected one that 250 gigs of space and was shaped like a small rubber palm tree, I plugged it into my computer, and after making sure nothing was *cough *cough incriminating I began to download the specs for my helmet the progress bar showed that it would take about 2 hours so I got up from my chair and while nursing my coffee looked around my place.

it was a nice little loft, it was basically one giant room there was a kitchen in one corner and my bed was in the opposite corner. my computer and work space took up the majority of the space, so 2 Hours should be plenty of time to pack up what I need and secure what I'm not taking. 

I went over to my closet and pulled out my luggage, there were 3 suitcases stacked inside of each other like one of those Russian stacking toys, I opened all 3 up on my bed and began to pack.

when my computer Beeped 2 hours later my coffee was refilled and all my things I was taking with me were put into my suitcases. i took the thumb drive out of the USB port and clipped it to my keys. and was out the door and on my way to my new Prison... I mean Home. 

i hailed a cab and had the driver take me to Alcon, it was raining on the ride to Alcon, i guess the weather took a que from my mood, I I watched the world flash past in a kaleidoscope of colors that seemed to be drowned out by the grey sheets of rain.

after 30 minutes I arrived at Alcon, I paid the cab driver, and in a vague attempt at humor I told him to smell ya later. not understanding my reference to the fresh prince, he politely told me where i could go, and zipped off in search of another fare.

I took a deep breath and headed to the front Lobby where I Saw vera waiting for me as soon as I got through the door.

"Hello Jason I hope you had a pleasant ride over here?"

"As pleasant as can be expected considering" I gestured to the rain

"Yes I am sorry about that, but if you will follow me, I can show you to where you'll be staying. then you can change into dry clothes and drop off your luggage."

"Sure thing lead the way."

"then please follow me." she extended her slender arm and ushered me into the elevator, as the metal doors slid shut she said 
"eighth floor please"
then a familiar metallic voice said 
"yes man eighth floor"
I looked at Vera and as if anticipating my question she began to explain

"you obviously heard that the Game, Garden of Eden, was created by our Quantum Computer Eden correct?"

"Yea I know that."

"Well we have the same quantum computer hooked up to basically the entire building, it controls everything from the elevator, to air conditioning it makes everything much simpler and easy, go on Eden say Hello"

"Hello Jason Bridges, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, I am very happy that you have come to test out my game. if you should ever need my assistance all you need to do is ask.

with a grim face I say "Gee thanks I'll be sure to keep that in mind."

with a ding and a sliding of doors Edens metallic voice said

"you have reached the 8th floor residence wing, please watch your step and enjoy your day Jason."

I gloomily followed Vera to my roo. and opened the door and went inside. it was actually very spacious about the same size as my loft maybe a little bigger. 

"and here is where I leave you Jason, these shall be your quarters untill we have completed testing. I will send someone to get you when we begin the tests so untill then just relax here and get comfortable."

"tests? what tests are you talking about?"

"oh I forgot to mention this I apologize. we will be performing some basic fitness and cognitive ability tests at the end of each gaming session to.make sure there are no problems. so today we are going to be getting your baseline."

I suddenly had the image of Fried trying to run on a treadmill and I almost laughed.

"oh ok then I'll just wait here then."

she shut the door and I began to unpack my things, no sooner had I finished putting away my clothes when i heard a knock at my door.

standing outside my door was a skinny man wearing dark grey dress pants, and a Blue short sleeve button down dress shirt with a dark grey tie.

"Hello sir my name is Nathanial and I was sent to escort you to the testing area."


"Hey Nathanial, sure thing  lead the way."


we went to the Elevator, and nathanial took me to the testing area. where I flaunted my mediocre physical prowess and exceptional mental prowess.

I finished my tests and was escorted back to my room but on the way I ran into Fried and Baby who were being escorted to get their tests done.

Fried was wearing a yellow shirt with green sleeves and a legend of zelda logo on the front he also had on tan cargo shorts 

Baby was wearing blue Jean's that had a tear in one knee and a half tucked long sleeve Blue shirt with the sleeves pushed up.

"finally you guys show up how is everything?"  

"Hey Red! yea we just got here they are saying something about tests but I just want to k ow where the cafateria is and when lunch is served!"

"hello master how is your day?"

"ok Baby look the whole master thing is getting a little old, you can just call me Red like fried or anything really since were IRL."

after think for moment he said "it wouldnt be right to not call you by a title so can I just call you Boss?"

" sigh..... your just not gonna stop are you? fine call me what ever you want just not master it doesn't feel right coming from you."

"alright mas....boss I'll call you that from now on."

"excuse me sirs the sooner we get done with the tests the sooner you may enjoy your meal." said the woman escorting them

"oh well why didnt you say so lead on!! hey I'll see you later Red we will come find you before we go eat so wait for us." and with that Fried pushed the protesting Baby down the hall to begin their tests.

i got to the 8th floor and went into my room I quietly waited for Fried and Baby to be done with their tests when I remembered I had to call Soft back. taking out my phone I scroll through my embarrassingly small contact list and select SoftCode. 
after 2 rings she pics up.

"well it's about damn time you called me! I've been waiting for ages to talk to you where are you?"

"im already at Alcon, I got here about an hour ago."

"ok I'm almost there, so wait for me i need to talk to you."

"fried and baby are here too, we were gonna get some food but we can wait till you get here."

"I'd prefer to not see FriedChiken eat but I guess it cant be helped, I'll be there in a bit." with a click she hung up and I was stuck waiting again.

What happens when a super computer catches you sneaking around its server and trying to steal the latest video game? Well you are left with a choice either to be "recruited" to be a lab rat or spend your life in jail which would you choose?
