Chapter 4

The Raiders

"How dare he?" Harry muttered to himself

He was running down a deserted muggle street. He had decided that he would never return to his godfather. He would just survive off the money his parents had left in his Gringot's vault.

But how could Sirius have done such a thing? Harry thought that he loved him. He never expected someone as sweet and nice as him to hit him and yell at him that way, he thought it was impossible. The moment Sirius' hand touched him, his whole world went crashing downwards. Everything that had ever happened to them disappeared like magic.

"Hey you!" a voice called out

Harry spun around and found himself facing a street gang of five tough looking boys.

"Me?" Harry asked.

"Yeah you! Who are you?"

"I'm Harry Potter"

"What are you doing here?" asked the same boy

"I ran away from home"

"So you're a runaway?"

"Yeah, I guess. Who are you guys?"

"I'm Daniel Kockel. This is George Plant, John McCartney, Richard Vogel, and Dhani Harrison. We've been sharing a trailer together for about 5 years."

"What happened to your parents?"

"Some of our are dead and some of our kicked us out of the house. My parents used to drink a lot so I ran away. Anyway, as you can tell we are a street gang. We call ourselves the Raiders"

Harry had heard about the Raiders before. He had seen them on the muggle news before when they had vandalized someone's house. They were very well known for causing loads of trouble.

"Say Harry, would you like to stay with us while we are on the run?" asked John.

"Yeah, sure"

The Raider led him to a small trailer behind the abandoned ice cream parlour. The went inside and sat down on the mismatched chairs in the small living room.

Harry looked around at his five new friends. Two of them were smoking and the other three were drinking.

"You want a cigarette Harry?" asked Richard

Harry stared at him for a moment. He had never smoked before; he knew that it would ruin his life. Then again, he needed to fit into his new group.

"Um...Yeah, sure"

Richard handed him the cigarette. He took a puff. It was marvellous! (A/N: Please don't smoke peoples, it's really stupid!) It was a feeling that he had never felt before, so different, so pleasant. But he knew that someday it would ruin his life.

"So, why did you run away for?" asked George

"My godfather got mad when I got home late tonight, well, yesterday night seeing that it's almost three."

"And..."

"He hit me. He had never hit me before, he was always so nice"

"Damn, that's tough. But don't worry you'll get used to being without him, we all have"

They all talked about themselves until they got really tired and decided to sleep. Harry followed them into another room with five camp beds and a couch.

"You can sleep on the couch" said Dhani

Harry plopped down onto the couch, closed his eyes and fell asleep. He would never see Sirius again and couldn't be any happier.

My Butler dropped me off at King's Cross Station and i found my way to Platform. It was easy to find the platform, if you had a sharp eye you would see people suddenly disappearing while running, though i was sure there were Ministry issued Oblivator nearby so as to handle any unforseen circumstance of a muggle noticing this.
You can easily differentiate between Muggles and Wizard by their different activities and way of clothing, i am pretty sure i spotted quite a number of Aurors, probably keeping watch for Sirius Black. How big of an idiot they were, like an escape convict will strike at the very place he is expected to.
I knew that Black was innocent or something along that line, i remembered that he dies in one of the later films i think the fifth or sixth one and people were mourning about his death online, so he must have been innocent or atleast on the side of Harry. 
I am in 3rd Year so this is the Prisoner of Azkaban, well what do i remember about this year, hmmmmm, i remember that they had a good new teacher this time, sirius black escapes, werewolf something which was in the trailer of the movie and dementors ohh yeah dementors, they will come to Hogwarts. I had researched about Dementors in the holidays. The thing is not much is known about them. History book just say they were there one day. They need to feed thats why they stay at Azkaban, its a sort of compromise they have with the Ministry. Ministry gives them prisoner to torment and feed themselves on while they remain at Azkaban and don't bother normal folks.
Only way to defend against them was the Patronus charm, the incantation and wand moment of which were easy but the spell itself was difficult mainly because it required happy memory, a memory which will put a smile on your face the very second you recollect it, the memory must be pure too, you can't have memory in which you are taking revenge against someone be used for making Patronus. Thus the reason that not many people are able to master it. But i figured out a theoretical way to make patronus, nowhere does it say that the memory has to be real, why can't you use the memory of your favorite dream or make up memory. Making up memory is easy, especially if you came from the 21st century where people used to fake their lifestyle on social media, you know how to make things look a certain way so that you can have others be jealous of it as well as show off and satisfy your own vanity, Instagram influencers were the prime example of it. I still need to test my theory though, can't quite cast charm like patronus wandlessly and with wand the trace would have come to effect.

Holding onto my Walkman listening to music i made my way through the Hogwarts Express looking for some empty compartment. Finally found one with a man lying probably sleeping. He had covered himself with a shawl. Placing my stuff i looked around to get a glimpse at the person's name, Remus Lupin, which was written on a suitcase.
Must be the new professor, atleast i know that he is capable as far as i remember most of the teaceher in Hogwarts were abysmall at there jobs especially the DADA post which had new professor everywhere. 

I had just settled when i noticed the compartment door being opened, I saw Hermoine, Ron and Harry,The Golden Trio. Should i be close to them or stay away i had no idea, i had not decieded what to do so lets just go with the flow here.
Hermoine's mouth moved and i realised that i still had my headphones on, silly me.
"Hey, sorry i was listening to music" i replied.
"I was saying, can we sit here Blake, everywhere else seems to be full." asked Hermoine.
"Sure no problem." I replied.
"Hermione, who's he?" asked Ron.
"I think its proper manner to introduce oneself before asking others for introduction." I spoke looking at Ron.
Hermoine jumped in and pointing towards me said, "He is Blake Rivers, a muggleborn like me and Syltherin. We have been exchanging letters and notes since the end of last term" then turning said" The red haired boy is Ronald Weasley, and the boy with glasses is Harry Potter."
"Hermoine, He's a Syltherin how can you be friends with him? all of them are prats"Ron exclaimed with horror.
"Ouch,Weasley, Judgemental enough? I can say that this quality of judging people before even knowing them is kinda Slytherin like." I spoke with a smug smile.
Color drained out of his face for a second and then i turned towards Harry
"Thanks for dealing with the little snake problem we had last year."
"Thanks, i didn't do it alone, i had help especially from Hermoine." he replied.
"Well i am going to go back to listening music, so don't worry Weasley i wont be disturbing you." saying so i put my headphones back on.

After some time, Hermoine tapped on my shoulder.
"Yes, Hermoine?" i asked
"Why are you taking the walkman with you? you know that electrical devices don't work at Hogwarts?"she said.
"What?????" I shouted.
"Yeah,mate. Nothing electrical works at Hogwarts. You didnt knew?We were told that in the first year" Harry said while clearly amused at my outburst.
"I lost my memory after the "Snakey Incident" last year." I told him while clearly drowning in my pain of going through the hard work of recording tapes of all my favorite 80's song.
"Oh, Sorry."replied Harry.
"No need mate, it was actually a good thing, losing those memories gave birth to Blake 2.0, and let me tell you this Blake is better and badder." I told him while standing up doing a 360 round circle and shouting "BE BAD!".(A/N:I was listening it at the time of writing this so i just added it here.)
Harry and Hermoine laughed clearly understanding my reference while Ron sat there thinking that we had clearly gone mental.
Suddenly i felt cold.
"Um, guys do you feel cold?" I asked.
The train stopped, the temperature dropped becoming cold,droplets of water condensed on the windows
"Oh shit its the Dementors" i shouted.
There was a collective gasp by Hermoine and Ron who clearly understood the danger. Whereas Harry sat there completely oblivious.
"What is a Dementor?"asked Harry.
"Something that you don't want to be near of."replied Hermoine.
Suddenly the temperature dropped even more and the door of compartment shot open. A black clothed figure/skeleton made its way in.
I think anyone who sees it for a first time will be frighten but i was fascinated, how did they live, did they have organs, brain, were they sentient or just lived by instinct like animal.
The Dementor seemed to have taken a liking to Harry as it was moving towards him.
Instinctively or reflexively i am not sure, i reached for my pocket and grabbed my wand and shouted,"EXPECTO PATRONUM", while focusing on a number of fake memories i had made.
White Mist came out from my wand enough to distract the Dementor but not corporal enought to completely take it out.
Suddenly Lupin jerked awake and performed Patronus to drive away the Dementor.
I collapsed as soon as Lupin drove it away, Magical Exhaustion is real guys.
Remus took out chocolate from his coat and handed it to Harry and Me.
"Great display of magic over there MR?"
"Rivers sir, Blake Rivers." I replied while munching on the chocolate, it tasted like the best thing i ever had.
"Eat slowly, Blake, chocolate helps in dealing with Magical Exhaustion and Mr. Potter you too" turning towards Hermoine  he said,"Can you look after them both while i go and have a talk with the driver?"Saying so he left.
"Mate that was something you did there." Ron said looking at me clearly with awe.
"Why do they even have Dementor here on the train?" asked Hermoine.
"For Harry."i replied while munching on my chocolate bar and ready to kill anyone who wants to take it from me.
"ME??Why?"asked Harry clearly surprised.
"Well, (A) He was a death eater whose master was killed by you, (B)Hogwarts Express is the only place he can attack you at, the wards at Hogwarts make it almost impossible for him to even enter so this is the only place he can attack you." I replied while not even looking at their reaction.
"Can't i spend atleast one peaceful year at Hogwarts without people trying to kill me." I heard Harry whine.

During the 4 yrs. Vanessa got discovered by a modelling agency while they we're interviewing the olympic hopefuls.


Vanessa look exactly like Kristina Pimenova with a 6 pack abs. They got mesmerized by her looks and eyes.


At first, Vanessa thought they were stalkers. She had a lot of secret admirers that sent shivers down her spine. But soon contacted her mother. The gig today was for Stark Industry child safety seat fir the company. And Tony Stark will be with her for the commercial. If he ever get there.


She nowadays give advises to the olympic hopefuls. They took her to become assistant coach to John Geddert. The coach that will represent 2012 olympics.


No matter what the olympic participants do, they can't beat her perfect performance.


John: "Urgh! If only your 6 or 4 years older. We'll get gold for sure."


Vanessa: "Well, I'm also good in track and swimming hehehe."


Olympic hopefuls: "Don't rub it in!"


After the morning routine, she went to track and field. She broke every record set and it seems she gets faster everyday. The people tested her if she is taking drugs or a mutant. Everything came back negative.


After training, she showered and head to the front gates waiting for her modelling agency to pick her up to her gig.


Sometime later they arrived and was surprised that Mr. Starks was there early or even appeared.


Vanessa: "Good morning Mr. Starks! My name is Vanessa Parker. I'm very happy to be working with you today!"


Tony: "My my, your even cuter than the pictures. You know what, you won me over, since on the script it says that you call me Uncle Tony. Why not call me Uncle Tony Vanessa. Since i know your mom too. Coulson introduced us. Sorry about your dad squirt."


Vanessa: "Don't worry about it. Sure I miss him, but he's watching over me now. Ah~ Uncle Tony."


Tony: "Haha I like you squirt. Call me for anything. I will be your godfather soon. Cause I owe your dad one. So it's only natural to pay it back. Right miss Potts."


Pepper: "Got it Tony, I'll make arrangements."


Vanessa: "Arrangements? For What?"


Pepper: "Well honey, you we're on the news 5 yrs ago. That's when your dad met Tony here. They talked about scholarships but you didn't want until your 16. Since then, we've been keeping an eye on you. Your dad even named Tony as your Godfather since they were friends. He didn't get to make it official since your father died and it was hectic in the company."



Vanessa: "Did I get this gig because Uncle Tony is my godfather?"


Tony: "Yes and no. I approved it because of your looks then remembered who you are. We'll your gonna be a hot babe like you mom when you grow up. Too bad she's completely loyal to your dad."


Vanessa: "Thanks I guess? Well time for the shoot uncle Tony. Race ya to the car!"


Pepper: "Ohhhh~ that's too cute. I should have recorded that on the phone!"


Tony: "Yup, that kid can steal anyone's heart. I think this commercial will be a hit."


The commercial was a hit. Stark Industry's stock rose up steadily and the commercial was the most watch commercial in the world.


Vanessa now had a lot of stalkers and fans. The SHIELD agents in the apartment complex had their hands full with people trying to break in or getting a picture of her. The movie deals came also.


Vanessa: "Oh man, if I take this. I won't have any time to train. The Avengers will happen in 6 years. I'm only in the beginning stages. What should I do.... maybe I can get a separate trailer for meditation and ask for weight and gym equipments. And the studio can be a good practice for my parkour skills. Maybe I can do this. I'll also upgrade my musical talent and get a voice coach. Since I'm in the entertainment business now."


Vanessa: "I got cast in Harry Potter as (Hermione) so sorry Emma Watson. I don't even have an english accent dammit."


So her mom took a month of her work and flew to England with me. She did the movie, voice lessons and parkour like she originally planned. After a month of shooting, her mom went back home and go back to work. The person watching her now is het handler from the modelling agency. 


After finishing the movie, she then did voice editing then did advertising by showing up in a lot of tv shows promoting the movie. Her fan base exploded that day. Movie offers keep coming. The next movie she will star is in the Twilight movie Breaking dawn as Bella's daughter.


She will be busy for a while. especially Harry Potter will go for 4 to 5 more movies. She was only 10 but is the most famous 10 yr old in the world. 



The following year, her mom retired fro. her job to focus managing her daughter's career. Lily even got offer to model and star on the movie because she looked just like her daughter. 


So now, they both got hit by the entertainment bug. But Vanessa still maintain her other job as assistant coach to John.

Lily: "Maybe we should get your measurements here and order everything online."


Vanessa: "I think your right."


A few months later, her movies were a hit and she was also filming the next part of the movie. She also got confessed by every boy cast in the movie including the people who played Ron and Harry. She politely let them down easy so there is no hard feelings."

Vanessa: "Oh yuck! Pfft pfft. I have to brush my teeth like a lot. Shit! Maybe put chlorine and extra soap. What the fuck! Why did the director add a kissing scene. It was supposed to be a hug. I'm freaking a 10 yr old kid goddammit. Freaking loli perverts. Pffft pffft! Uuurgh! I have to throw up that saliva dog shit out of me. Ueghh!"


That day, she had nightmares.


Her pictures where everywhere. Billboards, commercials and magazines.


She even did a Pepsi commercial which piss off coke that they didn't get her first.


Each passing day, she saw her breast developing. By the time she hits 11 years old. Her size was an A.


She also adjusted her fighting style since there are now moves that are sensitively affecting her. She also circulate her chi better and faster each day. She also is efficient with her katana sword style, and shuriken throwing.


She is now a bonafide ninja. Eat that Naruto...


She can even dunk a basket ball, jumping from the free throw line. They reserved her name for the 2016 olympics since she will only be 12 in 2012 olympics. 


At 11 yrs old, she got her first period.

Vanessa: "I hate you puberty!"

Her mom Lily started teaching her how to clean herself or she will smell like pee every month. The bleeding part was gross on her. She had to carry a bag to put her cleaning stuff and tampons and an extra pair of panties.


Vanessa: "What a dragggg..."


Then came the mood swings. You think she swears a lot right now. Wait till you see her swear like a sailor in the Navy. Every word was a bad word. She tries so hard to watch what she say outside her home since she is a public figure now.


Of course, if she have fans. She got anti-fans. There were cyber bullies too, but she hacked their accounts and bankrupt them. Her AI is named JESSICA, which was a little better than JARVIS. She was afraid that Ultron might hack her. So she put more security features and back up memory in case she has to deep six her affected program. She put backup after back up.


At that time Danny Rand was found alive and was fixing his company. The stocks started to increase steadily. Also a new vigilante started appearing along with daredevil. He is called Iron Fist. The Doom Enterprises also took a dive following Victor Von Doom's Space Station accident. The rise of the Fantastic 4 has come.

I'm just bored during this corona virus crisis. The story of a guy. And this guy did that and that. In the end he did that. So if you wanna know, then read

- stay at home order has been lifted. Going to hold on updates until stay at home is again issued.

I have a life you know. Since O only get bad reviews, I'm even thinking of stopping all together. until the star tate go at least 3.0 i will not go on the story. I have a lot of ideas on how to continue the story. So toughfy.

taking in his surroundings Harry couldn't help but gasp a little at seeing the real wizarding world.

getting his bearings back together he walked straight to the biggest white building in the alley Gringotts. As he got closer he saw the goblin guards stationed outside the doors. 

'damn those are some of the ugliest things I have ever seen' Harry thought to himself as he entered the bank and waited in line for a free teller.

a few minutes later 

"yes" a goblin said from a desk motioning for Harry to go up to it.

"hello my name is Harry Potter, I was told if I needed to get money to come here?" Harry said with respect 

"you are told correct young wizard, but you will need your vault key to be allowed in" the goblin replied with what looked like a happy grin

"I don't have one, is there a different way for me to do so?"  Harry replied 

"yes, follow me" the goblin finished saying as it got down from his chair and motioned for Harry to follow him.

walking down a few halls and entering a private room with a work desk and a few chairs.

"you may sit down young wizard, as I still need to grab the feel documents for the inheritance test." the goblin said

the goblin reaching inside the desk drawer he pulled out a parchment and a old knife 

"now all you have to do is cut yourself in your thumb and let a few drops of your blood fall into the paper."

just before he reached for the knife. 

'blair give me the blood and status of head of house to the most riches vaults'

'okay'

feeling a slight warmth sensation go through out his body he picked up the knife, and gently cut his thumb to release some blood.

but what surprised him was that the blood looked to be black in color and when the blood touched the parchment it sizzled. then it disappeared being absorbed into the paper.

"no problem" the goblin said as he reached into the drawer with a new set of papers and snapping his fingers as another set of documents appeared but a much thicker set then the previous.

"first I will need another three drops of blood for the new key" 

Harry hearing this again went through the whole process just as he finished a new set of keys with their vault number ingraved In them.

"make sure to keep those keys safe Mr. Potter" 

nodding Harry put the keys inside his pocket 'blair can you put the keys into my inventory' 

'sure' Blair replied

" now these are your bank statements" the goblin said handing over the documents to Harry.

going over the whole thing Harry saw somethings that were making him mad 'that conniving old fool' Harry seethed 
unknown to Harry he was releasing some of his magic causing the ground and all of the magical alley to tremble.

Harry still reading the documents heard some shuffling so he looked up from the bank statements and saw a platoon of guards with Spears pointing at him.

"is there a problem" harry asked with a hiss still mad at what he just read.

"no Mr. Potter you were releasing some of your magic and was causing some trouble" the goblin said

"ohh I'm sorry, but there is a problem with my bank account" Harry said again with anger

the teller and the guards seeing that he is angry began to sweat no matter how young and how much the goblins loved war they couldn't help but feel they were in the presence of an predator.

"what is the problem?" asked the teller

"well, it seems a Mr. Dumbledore has been stealing from my vaults and has taken some of my heirlooms as I don't know him. I want everything back with interest also a miss Moll prewett, Ronald Weasley and Guinevere Molly Weasley are taking payments out of my accounts. I want my shit taking care of and I would like to see my account manager and ask him personally why is he allowing this things to occur." Harry asked releasing magic but also causing some electric Sparks to appear around him.

the teller hearing the demand ran out the room and a few minutes later another goblin entered but this one was accompanied by other guards in fancier armor.

"greetings Mr. Potter I am Ragnok leader of the goblin nation and director of Gringotts. I have heard of the things that have happened and we are currently doing a investigation and the Potter account manager is being questioned at the moment." Ragnok said as he took a seat 

"Hello Director Ragnok I am sorry for all the commotion, but I wasn't expecting some of the issues I came across." Harry said

"yes, I would be unhappy as well" Ragnok said as a goblin walked in and whispered into Ragnoks ears and left some paperwork with him

"okay, Mr Potter from now on I will be in charge of your accounts and the previous Potter manager has been delt with. as for the stolen money's they will be taken back from the accounts of Dumbledore and prewett vaults with interest. as for the heirlooms they shall be in your vaults within the hour." Ragnok said
hearing this Harry finally calmed down 

"now for other business, since you are the last Potter, and last heir of Merlin,Le Fay, and Pendragon you are magically emancipated and will be able to claim your rings of head of house. will you like to do so at this time."

a dude died by some stupid reason let's say the Almighty truck kun did the deed. when he wakes up later on he is in front of a god which gives him some wishes which make him Op and later on he does whatever he wants In his life

CHAPTER SIX:

"Thank you, Albus," Harry said as the old man left him in the living room of his new quarters. They were situated in Gryffindor territory - just down the hall from Gryffindor tower, in fact, and Harry knew from his brief time as Hogwarts Headmaster that the portrait that guarded his new rooms was fiercely loyal to Dumbledore. Harry tried to block out the memories of those terrible few months – when they had all but lived in the Room of Requirements – when upon Minerva's death the care of the school had fallen to him. Shaking his head, Harry walked around the rooms one more time, casting spells on the portraits to make them think they only saw him do innocuous things. No need to have spies watching his every move, after all. That done, he sat on his new couch and called for a certain house elf.

"Mr. Harry Potter sir?" the house elf gaped when he appeared before him.

"Hi Dobby," Harry said, grinning as he leaned forward to be on the same height as the diminutive elf. "I've come from the future to make sure that this time Voldemort doesn't win."

Dobby gaped for another full minute, then drew himself up to his full height. "How can Dobby be helping Mr. Harry Potter sir?"

"I was wondering if you would like to work for me, Dobby," Harry said, looking fondly at his small friend. "Last time we agreed on payment of one galleon a week and a day off a month – does that sound good to you?"

"The great Mr. Harry Potter sir is wanting Dobby to work for him?" Harry almost laughed at the wide-eyed look the house elf wore, but managed to keep it to a grin as he nodded. Dobby drew himself up again and squeaked, "Dobby would be honored to serve Mr. Harry Potter sir!"

"Wonderful!" Harry said, slipping from the couch onto one knee. Holding out his hand to Dobby, it took but a heartbeat before it was grabbed. "I, Harry James Potter-Black, take Dobby the house elf into my care. May you serve me long and well." A flare of blue light enveloped the two figures, and Harry felt a soft awareness of his friend settle into his magic once more. It felt familiar, and comforting.

Dobby however was in tears of happiness, reminding Harry of the other time they had bonded. Just as he had then, he reached out his free hand to tip up the house elf's chin, speaking to him gently.

"Dobby of the House of Potter, I welcome your help and advice, and will care for you to the best of my abilities. What I have is yours, my friend. I invite you to call me Master Harry," he had learned that it was the house elf way to add a word before anyone's name – among elves, Dobby would now be known as 'Potter Dobby', "and to call me 'Master Potter' only when in formal company. Welcome to the Potter family," he finished with a soft smile. Dobby threw himself into his arms with a loud sob, and Harry hugged him with a big smile. It was good to know that this friend, at least, was still his friend in the new timeline.

"I have several tasks for you, Dobby," he said once the elf had gotten himself under control again. Fishing a small chain out from under the robes he wore – the Room of Requirement had supplied him with a basic set of black robes – he slipped it over his head and held it out to Dobby. "These are the keys to my vaults," he said, "and I need you to access this one," he separated one key from the rest and handed the chain to Dobby, "and bring me the red wood chest. Then access this vault," he pointed out a silver key, "and bring me the suitcase made of Welsh Green dragonhide. Please inform the goblins that I will be by as soon as possible to discuss business."

"Yes Master Harry!" Dobby cried, standing to attention. "Dobby will do his best!"

"Thank you, my friend," Harry said softly just before Dobby popped away.

Standing and crossing to the desk, Harry settled down to organize his next actions. With Dobby's help, the first step – a wardrobe – was already underway. Harry had only jotted down a few points when suddenly a chest materialized with a loud pop, and Harry found a wide-eyed elf at the end of his wand before he even realized that he had moved.

"Dobby!" he exclaimed, hurriedly lowering his wand. "I'm sorry – the pop was so loud, my reactions just kicked in, I didn't realize-"

"Master Harry," Dobby interrupted his rambling, "You is not needing to apologize. Dobby will return now with green suitcase." With that, the elf popped away, leaving behind a bemused wizard. Dobby had never been that firm in the other timeline.

Before he could dwell on it longer Dobby reappeared, a large suitcase next to him. "Can Dobby be doing anything else for Master Harry?"

Harry shook himself, crouching to be on his friend's eye level. "If you could go ask Professor Snape if he could join me in," he checked the time, "an hour, that would be great. Ask him to call for you when he's ready to come - I don't want anyone in the castle knowing that he is with me. Alright?"

"Yes Master Harry sir," Dobby said, popping away. Harry shook his head with a smile before levitating the chest and suitcase into his bedroom and setting them down beside the wardrobe. He had already checked all items in his new quarters for spells, and removed the spells on the desk to duplicate anything he wrote, the spells on the bed to notify Dumbledore who slept in it, the spells on the wardrobe to catalog the contents... There had been a lot of spells around the suite.

Opening the chest, he smiled crookedly at the items within. Carefully shaking out each piece as he removed it, he began filling the wardrobe with James Potter's clothing. By the time he had finished, the wardrobe had a wealth of clothing in wizarding style. Reds and golds abounded, interspersed with black, brown and white clothing, as well as the occasional blue. There wasn't a single green item.

Knowing that there would be an Order meeting that evening, Harry carefully went through the clothing to put together an outfit to convey the impression he wanted to. A deep red shirt with golden buttons, black slacks, socks and shoes, and a warm golden robe that hung to his knees; shrinking charms were liberally used, for James Potter had been taller than his son. Once Harry had changed into the selected outfit, he opened the suitcase and soon pulled out a black chain with a pendant bearing the Black crest. Slipping it over his head, he also picked up the long chain with his keys and put it on, letting it fall underneath his shirt so that only the golden chain was visible. Rummaging around in the suitcase a little longer, Harry found a watch that he slipped onto his left wrist, taking a moment to wind it. It was an old mechanic watch, but continued to look brand new. The gunmetal casing looked nearly black, and the golden gears were visible in the skeleton casing.

That done, Harry turned back to the suitcase once more. It was filled with assorted items, ranging from jewelry to scrolls, and while he searched for a specific item he set aside other things that he felt would be useful, including an old scroll on a forgotten potion that Severus had been in awe over. This time the man would have the time and equipment to go over the potion properly, Harry would make sure of it.

Eventually he straightened with a satisfied smile, a small box in his hand, and opened it without further ado, sliding the two rings contained within on a pointer finger on each hand. A brief wince as the rings pricked his fingers to sample his blood, then a warm feeling as he felt them extend their protection to him. In the other timeline he had taken them off when he showered; a mistake he would not make this time around.

Closing the suitcase, Harry slid it under the wardrobe and hid it with a little ward Bill had taught him. He was ready for the Order.

Harry's life consisted of a series of unlikely events. Faced with basilisks, Dark Lords, and killing curses, the only certainty to be had was that he would never be normal. So while Harry had dared to hope that once Voldemort was defeated, peace would follow, it was inevitable that the opposite turned out to be the case.

The idea of Pureblood Superiority did not die alongside Voldemort. The Death Eaters remained in control of the Ministry and, in the chaos following the Dark Lord's defeat, managed to free those who had been captured during the battle at Hogwarts. They quickly made their power felt, passing dozens of laws supporting purebloods and suppressing Muggle rights. The Death Eater regime met with little resistance from the public; their bigoted beliefs were popular and had gained legitimacy over the previous year. Those who would have protested had already been silenced. Only a handful of witches and wizards joined the Order in fighting back, but those who did were vilified, hunted down and even killed by the Ministry.

Harry, his friends, the DA, and the Order found themselves alone in their fight against an entire society. There was simply no way for them to win; for three years after Voldemort's death they continued their futile struggle, losing too many good people with nothing to show for it. The Death Eaters' control over the Ministry was unshakeable, Hogwarts was a school for the Dark Arts, and there were only a handful of Muggleborns in Britain left alive.

After the capture and execution of eleven Order members, among them Neville Longbottom and George Weasley, the small group of survivors finally admitted to themselves what had been obvious for years - they had lost the war. The remaining Order and DA members, along with their families, decided to leave Britain and restart their lives far away from the memories of death and bloodshed. They scattered across the globe, no more than a handful going to any one place as a precaution against their locations being discovered. Seamus, Dean and Ginny picked Canada; Andromeda took Teddy and moved to Romania with Charlie Weasley (a pairing which raised a few eyebrows); and Arthur and Molly decided to travel to Brazil for a second honeymoon and to recover from losing yet another of their sons. Eventually Harry, Hermione and Ron were the only ones left on British soil.

"Sure you don't want to come with us, mate?" Ron asked again. "Maybe you and Ginny could-"

"No, Ron." Harry shook his head. His relationship with Ginny was over for good and while he would miss Ron and Hermione, he was firm on not going to Australia with them to join the search for Hermione's parents.

"I just don't get why not," Ron said.

"It's not too late to change your mind, you know," Hermione added.

Harry sighed. "I told you. The Death Eaters won't stop hunting me and I don't want my presence putting you two in danger." That wasn't his only reason, but it was the one he thought they'd accept.

"Oh Harry!" Hermione lunged forward and smothered him in a hug. "You never change, do you?"

"Well, I'm taller than when we first met," Harry joked as he hugged her back.

Ron snorted. "Not by much. You're still a midget compared to me."

The three friends grinned at each other. The nature of their friendship may have changed over the years - an inevitable result of fighting a war and Ron and Hermione starting a relationship - but some things stayed the same.

"Take care of yourself, Harry," Hermione said fretfully, no doubt picturing all the trouble Harry could get into if left to his own devices. "Oh dear, maybe we should stay…"

Ron groaned and rolled his eyes. "Here we go again."

"I'll be fine," Harry said. "You should go, Hermione. Find your parents, settle down, marry Ron and have a dozen red-haired children."

"Well if you insist…" Hermione gave him a wobbly smile and dried her eyes. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you, too," Harry said. "Good luck, both of you. Name your first son after me, yeah?"

Ron clapped Harry on the shoulder. "That's a promise, mate."

Moments later Ron and Hermione disapparated, leaving Harry standing alone in the entrance hall of the Order headquarters.

If he were brutally honest with himself, Harry knew there was nothing left for him here in Britain. Yet he couldn't bring himself to leave it all behind. How had it come to this? How had everything gone wrong? How had he fulfilled the Prophecy, but lost the war? He obsessed over every wrong decision and missed opportunity, trying to find answers.

Surely he or Dumbledore or someone could have chosen a different path and prevented such a terrible outcome. Surely there was something he could still do, some way to keep fighting, some strategy he'd overlooked. That was the real reason Harry had decided not to join his friends - for him the war wasn't over yet. He simply couldn't imagine happily living his life somewhere far away, complete with a wife, children and a white picket fence, while Voldemort's followers ruled Britain.

Instead he had decided to stay in Grimmauld Place and to wait for any chance of bringing down the Ministry. His self-imposed isolation was mostly spent practicing spells he found in the Black library and drinking too much – while always hearing Hermione's voice in his head nagging him to put down the firewhisky and sober up. The loneliness and sheer tedium were almost too much to take, but forays into the muggle world kept him sane and gave him a sense of purpose. That was one thing he could still do – save as many Muggleborns as possible.

He kept watch for any rumours of magic and occasionally managed to find young children who had yet to be identified and arrested by Snatchers for the ludicrous crime of 'stealing magic'. Harry visited the families and got them out of the country, either through honest persuasion or the use of compulsion spells. Each life saved renewed his determination to stay.

The news he managed to get from stolen copies of the Daily Prophet suggested that the Ministry had abandoned its search for the so-called criminal Order members. The bounty on Harry's head was cut in half and then halved again, with the Death Eaters seemingly deciding that he was no longer important. Harry even began entertaining the idea that he might manage to survive long enough to see Ron, Hermione and his other friends again one day.

Which was what made the attack, when it came, so very unexpected.

Harry didn't know who killed him. All he heard was a voice crying out "Avada Kedavra" while his back was turned, not giving him enough time to even draw the Elder Wand from his pocket. Nor did he have any idea how his attacker had found him as travelled in the crowded Muggle underground. The truth behind his murder would have to remain yet another unsolved mystery it seemed, as upon opening his eyes he found himself lying flat on his back in the middle of a ghostly Kings Cross Station. He was dead - again.

Harry scrambled to his feet and cautiously looked around. Thick fog swirled through the platform, making it hard to see anything, but after a while he spotted a small figure approaching through the white mist. It wasn't Dumbledore this time, perhaps because Harry - unfairly or otherwise - blamed most of the war's disastrous outcome on his old Headmaster. Instead he found himself faced with an over-excited House-Elf.

"Oh Harry Potter, sir! You has arrived!" Dobby exclaimed loudly, his voice echoing along the empty platform. "Dobby is so glad to be seeing the great and noble Harry Potter once again!"

"Er… hello, Dobby," Harry said, staring down at the small being he hadn't seen in over three years. The elf was just as he remembered him, wearing mismatched socks, a yellow and purple striped scarf around his neck, and a bright red tea-cosy as a hat. Overwhelmed with affection for the odd being, Harry knelt down on the hard tiled floor and hugged him. "Thanks, Dobby," Harry said. "Thank you so much for everything."

"No need to be thanking Dobby, Harry Potter sir!" The elf's ears flapped wildly as he bounced on his toes. "Dobby is proud of having protected sir and his Grangy and Wheezy."

Harry slowly stood back up. "You're a great friend, Dobby."

Death seemed to have calmed the elf somewhat, since Harry's words didn't cause him to burst into tears of happiness. His already manic smile became even wider and his bouncing more energetic, but he otherwise contained himself. "Dobby is not having much time, Harry Potter! Dobby must be giving you a message before you is leaving."

Harry frowned. "I suppose that means I'm still not completely dead then." It was ridiculous - he'd been hit by three killing curses in his short twenty-something years of life and not a one of them had worked. Not that Harry wanted to die, of course, but he didn't like there being yet another reason for him to be considered a freak. If this was the consequence of mastering all three Hallows, Harry wished he had destroyed the things while he'd had the chance.

"Harry Potter's mind is being very much alive," Dobby told him, "but Harry Potter's body is most dead. The bad wizard is chanting nasty spells and burning it."

"Huh." Harry puzzled over Dobby's words. "They seem to have learned something from the last time, then. Does that mean I can't go back? Not that I'd be likely to live long, what with the bounty on my head and everything, but I'd like to spend more time with my friends…"

"Harry Potter cannot go back, but he cannot yet go on," Dobby said. "Harry Potter must go to a new world, where he can die properly!"

Harry was overwhelmed by what he was hearing, but understood enough to be angry at the injustice of it all. "What? Are you honestly telling me I have to be killed all over again! I've already died twice, isn't that enough?"

"Not killed!" Dobby's tennis-ball eyes grew even wider. "Never killed. Dobby is wanting Harry Potter to be safe and happy and wrinkled!"

"Wrinkled? You mean old?"

Dobby nodded enthusiastically. "Very wrinkled!"

"Well, dying of old age doesn't sound like such a bad plan," Harry said slowly, needing time to adjust to the idea. He had long ago been forced to give up such hopes, with his lightning bolt scar meaning he might as well have had a bulls-eye painted on his forehead. "But what's this about a new world? Sounds dodgy."

Dobby looked hesitant all of a sudden.

"Yes?" Harry prompted, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. Considering that Dobby's idea of a good plan involved Harry's near expulsion from Hogwarts and a fifty foot drop after being knocked off a broom, any hint of caution from the elf had to be a very bad sign.

"It is being another world, Harry Potter sir, one without the great Harry Potter in it!"

"Why, what happened to me?" Harry had heard Hermione debate the existence of alternate worlds on occasion, but he'd never believed there could actually be other versions of him running around. It was a disconcerting idea and one Harry wasn't too pleased to find out was true. It meant there could be countless Harrys in innumerable worlds - he wondered if they all suffered from the same bad luck as he did.

"Harry Potter is being killed in a car crash when he is being five years old, Harry Potter sir," Dobby informed him, a sad look on his pointy face. Then he brightened up considerably. "But no Harry Potter means that Harry Potter sir can join world and live there instead!"

Apparently the Potter luck really was inescapable. Harry found it tragically ironic that his counterpart had died from what he'd grown up thinking had killed his parents. "So I'm supposed to take the place of a young me?" Harry asked after working out who all the Harry Potters mentioned were.

"Oh no, only if sir is wishing it," Dobby said. "Time is moving slower there, so Harry Potter sir is being ten years old when he arrives – as old as Harry Potter is being if he had lived - and can become anybody he wishes. No one is suspecting sir, since other Harry Potter is dying many years before."

"So I'll be starting Hogwarts and everything, but I don't actually have to tell people I'm Harry Potter," Harry checked. Dobby nodded eagerly, clasping his bony hands together in delight. "Back to the year nineteen ninety one, a proper fresh start…" Harry couldn't help but be tempted by the prospect. "No more Boy-Who-Lived or Undesirable Number One…"

"Then Harry Potter is accepting?"

Harry frowned and held up a hand to stop Dobby saying anything more. "Hang on a moment. If I can accept, doesn't that mean I can decline?"

"If Harry Potter is saying no then he is staying as a ghost forever and ever and ever!" Dobby looked distraught at the very idea. "Harry Potter sir is never going Onwards, never going on his next great adventure!"

"Oh," Harry said. The thought of never joining all those who had died – his friends, family, Sirius – was a most unwelcome one. No matter how unsure he felt over travelling to a strange and unfamiliar world, he knew it had to be the better choice. "There has to be some catch, though. I mean, what's wrong with the world I'll be sent to? I'm sure there's something."

"It is being similar to sir's old world. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is still lurking and Professor Trelawney is still telling future, but Harry Potter will also be seeing many differences. Dobby is not allowed to tell, Dobby must be keeping secrets. Dobby is sorry!"

"That's all right," Harry said hurriedly, seeing that the elf was on the verge of busting into tears. He might not know exactly what mess he'd just got himself into, but he'd figure things out as he always did. "At least I know for sure it's not all going to be sunshine and roses. It'll give me a chance to prepare."

"So Harry Potter sir is saying yes?" Dobby nervously fiddled with the ends of his multi-coloured scarf. "Harry Potter must hurry, almost being no time left to decide."

"Well… all right, I suppose I'll accept," Harry said after a long pause. He'd wanted a chance to win the war and a new world would give him that – there was nothing left for him here. "So long as you promise me that the next time I die, I'll stay dead."

The elf nodded solemnly. "Dobby is promising."

"Well then, I suppose this is good bye for now." Harry smiled down at his small friend. "Take care of yourself, Dobby."

"Good bye, Harry Potter," Dobby said, and snapped his fingers. With a loud crack that echoed down the empty platform, Harry disappeared. His last thought was that Dumbledore had been right about one thing - death really was the next great adventure.
