Anyway, the current society was just like this, there were bound to be good and bad people and in order to stay out of trouble, you had to be quick-witted. 
It was undeniable that… Metahumans quickly adapted to the society and this was mankind's unique ability: to adapt. 
If humans could not adapt, mankind would not have been on top of the animal chain. 
Of course, there were people who questioned: would metahumans disrupt social stability?
There weren't only good comments about metahumans on the forums. Someone revealed that in South America, there were already cases of metahumans committing crimes. And so were cases in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Australia which were widely broadcasted by their local media.

Wow! Lu Shu had a sudden flashback. He had read some novels before and some plots were really disgusting. Maybe he could… use writing novels as a way to earn distress points?! 
However… Lu Shu was troubled. Even though his grades were always good and even topped the class in the previous exam, his essays were consistently poor and never excelled in that area! 
Damn it! Lu Shu felt like he had just discovered a mountain of treasure but just could not retrieve it, how frustrating! He should have read more novels! 
Most writers had read large numbers of books. Perhaps the imagination part relied on talent but the writing required a long time to develop. 
What was meant by writing? Was it the use of bombastic and pretty terms? No. 
Writing was the ability to pen down the world, characters and the storyline inside your mind. This looked simple but it was actually not. 
Even though Lu Shu had read a few novels, these ten years, others were busy living their lives while he was busy trying to make ends meet, so where to find the energy to read that much?
A student who also worked odd jobs until 2 am, where could he find that much leisure time to read novels?
What he read the most were news. The habit to read the news was because he wanted to be updated as sooner or later, he had to go into the society and find a job to feed his family. 
At that point in time, he had to do whatever he could with his fragile body so as to fight for a living for him and Lu Xiaoyu. Instead of reading a novel, he would rather have some sleep. 
Lu Shu did not have options in life since he lacked the basic material foundation. 
The rule of this world was that everything was controlled by destiny and everything was already decided. His living standards already decided that even if Lu Shu were to write a novel, no one might even read it; or if written too poorly, no one would. 
Things like distress points relied on the people and if no one read, there would not be any distress points. 
But Lu Shu's life wasn't that bad… He still had his adorable classmates. 
This afternoon, Lu Shu did not bring his stinky tofu to the canteen but instead, he took a public bus to a second-hand phone market that was 5km away. He wanted to buy a new SIM card to use for the Golden Foundation forum. 
The second-hand phone market was located in the heart of Luo City city which used to be bustling with activity but had later on been reduced to a low-class business district. 
A few years ago there were still people carrying a bag and asking around, "Anyone wants movies, imported ones? There are all sorts- Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Korean!"
But such people were no longer seen and a new business took its place: Second-hand phones, selling lost identification cards, phone SIM cards, etc. 
This place had no regulations or control and it was a mess. 
But Lu Shu liked this kind of messy environment. Wearing his hoodie and walking on the streets, he casually found a portable stall and managed to buy a SIM card with just 70 dollars. 
The phone he was using was also a second-hand one and now, his SIM card was also bought using someone else's identification. With the tens of thousands of users on the Golden Foundation forum, it was almost impossible to find out his real identification. 
On the way back in the bus, Lu Shu was scrolling through the forums and came upon a new post. The original poster seemed familiar, it was the one selling chives! 
The post said: Not only were the chives sold out, even his house was sold at a high price. 
Lu Shu was stunned and continued reading. Apparently, after the buyer bought the chives, he was not satisfied and decided to offer a price that was 30% higher than the market rate to buy the house that the seller lived in, claiming that he needed to grow his own chives to achieve the effects…
Lu Shu looked at the post in disbelief. Why were some people so weird, buying a house to grow chives to eat? Did this guy not care about his money?
That's not right… Lu Shu had suddenly thought of another possibility. 
If the idea that different places in the world had different Feng Shui was right, then could it be that the house that those special chives grew in was richer in magical energy? 
Thinking about it, Lu Shu understood what happened. The buyer had bought this place to carry out his training! 
Daoyuan class had resumed at night and Xi Fei started off with checking everyone's progress. 
Liu Li's hopes to complete two cycles were destroyed as those who tried practicing in the day realized that the speed of training was much faster at home. 
At this moment, Xi Fei asked Jiang Shuyi for his progress and he calmly replied, "Progress, 2 cycles completed."

Kimura Kazuki grinned at the sight of this. He did retain their contact information when he was their home tutor.
Soon, the four people received the mail.
Although Akino sounded unimpressed, being an amateur of Anime, Comic, and Games (ACG), although she hasn't written any of her own light novels yet, she read novels regularly. It was her spiritual food, her whole body would feel uncomfortable if she did not flip through a few pages in a single day.
However… her mouth twitched involuntarily when she saw the book titled Loading File Of Tokyo.

While teasing about it, Akino downloaded the novel and began reading raptly. Kimura Kazuki was just sitting right in front of her. If he could just find an excuse to bully her on the pretext of her reckless reading... 
The four sisters read quickly as there was only one chapter. If there was anyone else who wanted them to review a novel with only one chapter, they would probably refuse and despised it while they were at it. Especially Furuhashi Akino, she would even scold a few words.
Natsui was the first to finish the novel, she raised her head slightly and took a glance at the others, her eyes met Harunaka's in an instant.
"How was it? Good? "
"How do I know...I have never read a novel before. If I tell you that this is my first time reading a light novel, would you believe it?"
"Yes. This is my first time reading a novel, too, but I find it quite interesting."
"It is not bad, there is a lot of suspense. But… to know whether it is good enough, we still have to ask Akino and Fuyuno."

Of course, Fuyuno had always wanted to become a voice actor. She had also taken up light novels and animated shows. Speaking about the understanding of light novels and animated shows, she was much more professional than Akino.
Harunaka and Natsui made eye contact again, realizing that the eyesight of Kimura Kazuki was turning toward them, they were frightened and put an act on reading the novel.
Obviously, they were afraid that the other side would ask them questions, they really had no idea on how to answer questions regarding novels. They had a pretty good impression of this single chapter novel before them, but they were worried if this was an illusion coming from their first experience of light novel reading.
After all, Akino had mentioned that it was normal for a person to be immediately fascinated when they first read a novel. On the first read, no matter how bad the writing skill, plot, and storyline were, people would be able to tolerate and accept. Only when more novels were read, then one could differentiate the good and bad of a book. As such, both of them dared not comment.
Shortly after, Akino and Fuyuno finished their readings as well.

He noticed that both Harunaka and Natsui had finished their readings just now, but they were dodging his eyes as if it was hard for them to speak out. He thought that the novel was dull… looking at how their eyes were shining with anticipation now that Akino and Fuyuno had spoken, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
One novel could not be in favor of everyone. He was very clear of this, moreover, now there was only one chapter completed for Loading File Of Tokyo.
Akino was no longer eating. A while ago, she thought that this novel was a life resetting love story. It was out of her expectation that this was crime fiction. Instead, something came up to her mind in a second, "Is this novel going to participate in the crime fiction section of 'Let's Be A Light Novelist'?"
"Yes," Kimura Kazuki nodded.
Akino and Fuyuno appeared to understand, they had obviously heard about this essay competition.
Upon hearing this, Harunaka seemed to think of something, she spoke with a strange look, "Senior… are you the author of this novel?"
Before they got in contact, Kimura Kazuki told her that he had found a job. His emotions were tense because of the comments on this novel. He even claimed that this was the work of his friend. She was quite sure that this was the work of Kimura Kazuki himself. 
"No… it really is my friend's work," Having spoken these words, he became speechless when he noticed that all of them seemed not to trust him.
"This novel shouldn't be the work of senior," Fuyuno continued to flip through the novel, she spoke with certainty, "The writing style is very similar to a novel which I have read, named Record Book of Matsuzawa Hospital."
Kimura Kazuki looked at Fuyuno in shock, he then nodded his head, "Yes, it was written by that person, you can see it just from the writing style?"
"I recently revised the Record Book of Matsuzawa Hospital again," Fuyuno grinned embarrassedly, "I just like the writing style of Gentera, the words under the tip of his or her pen could easily stir up the emotions of others."
Kimura Kazuki did not fully understand what she said, he was unsure what was the feeling of 'words under the tip of his or her pen could stir up the emotions of others.' But he was still happy since Fuyuno considered it to be good. 
After all, this light novel was going to participate in the essay competition, if it was written well… it would be adapted into comic books or animations, as long as these two were done, it would surely gain the acknowledgment from readers. By that time, Yuriko's obsession could naturally be fulfilled.
"In fact, there's usually nothing much to see from the first chapter of light novels," Akino spoke suddenly, her interest was aroused, "However in this novel… the suspicion and strength of the protagonist were tossed out in the air since the first chapter, that's why I am very interested. "Wait…senior, you actually knew teacher Gentera?" Akino was still arguing with Natsui, while Fuyuno suddenly came to a realization after having two spoons of rice. Fuyuno, who was always calm and cold, cried out softly, she laid her eyes on Kimura Kazuki with astonishment, "Both of you are friends in real life?"
Usually, after the beginning of a new novel was completed, it would be first handed to the editor. But there was only one chapter now, perhaps the editor would not bother to have a look.
"You're right."
"So, is teacher Gentera a male or female?"
Kimura Kazuki took a curious glance at Furuhashi Fuyuno, he answered honestly, "Female."
"Sure enough… I knew it." Fuyuno could barely hide her smile, she explained with slight awkwardness when she realized that Kimura Kazuki was giving her a weird stare. "Fuyuno… since when did you make new friends? Your old friend, Komuro Jun, hasn't him been transferred to another school?"
The Furuhashi sisters stared at Fuyuno inquisitively. Fuyuno had no choice but to answer, "Although I said she was a friend, she is actually a senior from the voice actor sector. Her name is Yukito Hirata, you guys should be able to recall that I had registered for a voice actor school during my junior high summer holiday, right?"
"Oh..."Akino's mind clicked in an instant, "Isn't the Hirata Performer School founded by Hirata Performer Management Company? I heard that they closed down a few months ago."
Fuyuno coughed lightly, gave Akino a stern glare, and did not say another word.

Ye Yuwei was stunned at what Gu Juexi said. Her eyes began to burn as she fought back tears. 
Gu Juexi might have said it casually, but the truth was that he had read every single novel that Ye Yuwei had read, though he had no idea if she was ever going to come back to him. 
"And you read all of them even though they were stupid," Ye Yuwei scoffed, lowering her gaze to hide her emotions from Gu Juexi. 
Gu Juexi gave the driver an address and pulled up the divider in the car for more privacy. He had never been into public display of affections after all. 
Gu Juexi pulled Ye Yuwei into his arms and said, "Xiao Yaojing gave me more than a hundred of them. I didn't know you like those kinds of novels, turns out you actually have a dirty mind." 
"Yaojing gave novels to you? What did she give you?" asked Ye Yuwei in shock as Gu Juexi hugged her tightly. Ye Yuwei recalled the kind of novels that she liked and the kind that Xiao Yaojing liked and became uneasy. 
Gu Juexi lifted Ye Yuwei's chin and murmured, "I really wouldn't have expected you to like novels like that. When you read them alone, do you..." 
"Oh be quiet!" Ye Yuwei reached out to cover Gu Juexi's mouth quickly, her face turning red. 
Why would Xiao Yaojing sabotage her like this? 
Gu Juexi looked at Ye Yuwei blushing and felt his mood lift. 
He had put what he learned from the novels to good use after all. 
"Where are we going?" Ye Yuwei looked at Gu Juexi and asked quickly. She would die of embarrassment if they continued their conversation about the novels. 
Gu Juexi gave Ye Yuwei a knowing look for trying to avoid the conversation but let her be. 
"We are going to see Ma Zhong," Gu Juexi answered. 
Ye Yuwei wasn't surprised. A man like Gu Juexi would never sit on what he thought needed to be done. 
"I would very much be doing charity if I do this. It would cost me a lot and I think you ought to know," said Gu Juexi seriously. 
Ye Yuwei continued to lie in his arms and scoffed when she heard what he said. "Would you not do it just because I said so? And it is not like you don't have the money." 
Gu Juexi chuckled and patted Ye Yuwei's shoulder gently while she snuggled in his arms. Who else would know him so well? 
Ma Zhong lived in a village near the resort.
Gu Juexi made the driver stop near the village so that he and Ye Yuwei could walk to Ma Zhong's house. 
Ye Yuwei knew that Gu Juexi was trying not to stress Ma Zhong out. 
Ma Zhong was watering the plants in his farm when Gu Juexi and Ye Yuwei finally found him. He was quite immobile and could barely lift the buckets, so all he did was water the plants while his sister Ma Mei lifted the buckets. 
"Mr. Gu, Mrs. Gu," Ma Mei called out the moment she saw them. She quickly put down the buckets and looked at Ma Zhong who was watering the plants. 
"Mr. Gu is here, brother." 


He was the powerful and influencing heir of B City, the merciless head of the commercial world, but the divorce papers made him lose his cool. 
“Sign the divorce papers, daddy,” said the 5-year-old boy. 
This man had the divorce papers thrown in his face by his wife six years ago, and was now being pushed by his own son to sign the papers. 
“That would make you a single-parent child,” said Gu Juexi coldly. 
“Mommy said unicorns don’t exist but men like you do,” the boy leered at his father and said. 
Gu Juexi’s face fell. ‘That damned woman.’
“You haven’t signed the papers,” the boy reminded as the man left. As usual, the door shut in his face. 
Good lord… Dad and mom are not getting a divorce and are giving him a baby brother? How worrying!

This message no longer seems relevant given how old this novel is, but I will say it nonetheless. A few years ago I fell into the slippery slope of Japanese fiction, I started with innocent anime like One Piece, Dragonball, and Naruto, but then I started to read manga, and eventually that lead into light novels. Of course that path would eventually lead to this website, where you and myself most likely have found our source of entertainment. In the beginning when I joined this community and would indulge myself in the vast repository that this website has, most of the novels followed a basic structure of power growth that typically started from a weak point and eventually becoming one of the strongest. This was changed however with new implementations in this website that fostered fan-fictions and with it came a genre that I believe essentially removed a year of my social life: wish fulfillment. I often see these new fan-fictions or even originals sometimes that literally have the main character given whatever they want. I presume these stories are largely self-inserts and based off of what the author themselves want. I would like to emphasize this before I continue: ---->I am not speaking from a place of authority and thus do not believe that reading these are bad for everyone<----, but in my experience ever since I have started reading these wish fulfillment stories I realize that, in a snowball effect, I have become essentially addicted to these writings. I would go hours on end looking for a new novel that would feed my need for an "overpowered character".  Often I found myself ashamed to show people what I was reading on my phone, and this cemented the idea even further that I should not continue to be a part of this "community". I am sure there are some good parts of this website, many have good stories and character development, but right now this website is not built to incentive that, and thus these crappy yet addicting SI fan-fictions run rampant. I wrote this just in the off likely chance that someone sees this and they found themselves in a similar situation that there are other people just like you. After I am finished writing this I will delete everything from the library and maybe I'll read a book with genuine literary merit. Also, I understand people might hate this and feel free to vent in the comments. This message will be posted on all my other shitty novels that I wrote when I had a bad idea for a book.
