"Hmm~♫ Hmm~♫" Xiu Mei hummed as she listened to her current favorite music in her headphones. Her eyes trailed on the words on the book she was currently read while holding a glass of champagne in her other hand. The little lamp was the sole light that lit her place as she read the book. Around her was probably the sleeping passengers since their seats are mostly dimmed. 
Unbeknownst to Xiu Mei, this peace and quiet she was having wouldn't last for too long.
An hour later, the plane she was on finally landed on City A. Gathering her bag on her hand, she followed behind the other first-class passengers getting off the plane. She calmly made her way to the carousel where her bag would be dropped off. On her way, she felt the trailing gazes of other people on her. Xiu Mei's grip on her shoulder bag tightened as she suddenly felt anxious. 
Did something happen? Was something on her face?
Her mind already conjectured a lot of possibilities. Her mind finally remembered her phone. Pulling out her turned off phone, she used her phonescreen as a mirror. She saw nothing out of place except a few hairs slipping out of her bun.
She looked up and checked whether their luggages have been dropped off but there were no bags coming out behind the black curtains so she continued to look down on her phone as she turned it on.
Xiu Mei was almost freaked out when she received a bombard of messages on her phone as it didn't stop firing to life due to the amount of texts she was receiving. She was even barely able to click on anything as the messages kept popping out in the middle of the screen. 
Confused, she opened the messages inbox and read a couple of texts. It was from some of the employees she had exchanged numbers before and some friends she would sometimes hangout with. They were all congratulating her and wishing her the best. Xiu Mei got even more confused.
She scratched her head as she continued on reading the messages, hoping to get enlightenment about the truth of the matter. 
Then came the messages from some of her cousins. As she read through the long messages she got from them, she finally understood what was happening.
"What the hell?!" Xiu Mei almost dropped her phone to the ground due to shock. Her eyes widened as she kept repeating in reading the text from her cousin. She was hoping that by the end of her message, she would see a word 'Just kidding!' or 'It was just a joke!'. Anything along those lines were what she was wishing to see however, her cousin utterly failed her and instead, what she saw was more congratulations and for her to have a baby soon.
What the fudging hell?
Xiu Mei became even more tempted to throw her phone onto the nearest trash bin. 
She just cut off communications with everyone in just a few hours and suddenly, everything had changed. It's weird!
Exiting from her inbox, she quickly opened her phone's browser and opened the news channel.

Xiu Mei immediately shrugged off the weird headline and focused on the main topic. She read that headline once again before she finally had an idea of what was currently happening.
"The president and I? Married?" She whispered as she asked herself. 
Even though she didn't remember saying 'yes' to Lu Chen's proposal before, she still panicked inside. She thought hard to remember if she had carelessly forgotten that maybe she had agreed to his proposal. She even thought back whether she called Lu Chen after getting drunk in some dinner parties with the team. But no, nothing came up in her mind.
Heck, she even forgot that Lu Chen's proposal is only known by her, Lu Chen, and Lu Shao. Her? Was she that stupid to even leak such a thing that could potentially start a big issue? Lu Chen? Hah. "How do you feel about getting married to your superior, Lu Chen?"

Xiu Mei hadn't even taken more than 10 steps after passing the doors before she was welcomed by the lunging reporters who were trying to get a word from her. Finally reaching her car which she had parked on the parking lot, she dropped off her luggage on the trunk before she sat on the driver's seat.

Xiu Mei's thoughts were suddenly blank, still too dumbfounded with the scene awhile ago.

His gaze hardened as the both of them stared at each other. Slowly, he rose from his seat and held her chin.

"You won't be able to escape. You're mine." 

She slapped his hand away and stood up.

"We'll see about that." She made her way to the door and left the room.

It was a hot Saturday afternoon in Melbourne. The sunlight shone bright and scorching hot, it was 42C outside, one of the hottest day in the summer. Tan Lixia currently sitting on a Belgian roll arm sofa, sipping her iced peach tea while reading her favourite webnovel.

He immediately booked a ticket to Dhangadi and two tickets from Dhangadi to Kathmandu. His flight was going to leave at 3:00 PM. The ticket to Dhangadi was $40 and the two return tickets were $100. He first of all went to the nearest mall, and bought a super thick and comfy couch for $60. He decided to place it in the computer room. The couch was good it had enough space for him to sleep in that room.

' Both of us can fit on the couch if we cuddle ' ,he thought while smiling foolishly. He then ordered it to be delivered at his place. It was already 12:30 when he had placed the couch in the computer room.

Realizing it was lunch time, he went to a nearby cafe. He also invited the delivery guy and his helper for lunch. It was only 1:30 right now. He then went to a gym which was nearby his house. He paid $300 for  membership, one month's gym fees and hired a trainer.

That gym was 10 minutes walk from his rented apartment so he thought that he would be going to the gym every evening or so. It had been about 17 days since he had gotten money transferred to his bank account.

He checked the time and noticed that it was 2:00 already. He withdrew $100 at the nearby ATM. He immediately booked a taxi and went to the airport. He paid the fare of $2 and went inside the airport.

He showed his identification card and went to the board the plane. He was pretty late and the plane had already started boarding passengers. He was one of the last ones to board the plane. The seat beside was empty. He put his mobile in airplane mode. He put on his headphones and closed his eyes.

When he opened his eyes, he noticed that it was one of the air hostess's that had woke him up, it was already 4:20 PM. The plane had just landed. He thanked the lady for waking him up. He went down and immediately called Pallavi.

Pallavi picked up her phone.

" I am at the airport. Where are you ? "

" It will take about 20-30 minutes before I reach the airport. "

" Our flight will start boarding at 5:00, so hurry. Don't be late, okay ? "

"Mhmm..", she said and hung up.

He walked to the entrance of the airport and sat in a cafe there. He didn't like coffee or tea. He just ordered cold drinks and sat there while reading novels. At 4:45, he got a call from Pallavi.

" I am at the entrance. Where are you ? "

" I am at a cafe nearby. Wait, I will come fetch you. " Shuvam hurriedly got up, paid his bills and went to the entrance.

They quickly boarded the plane. The plane he got on was the same one he had come here in. The air hostesses were surprised to see a 16 - 17 year old boy travelling to and fro in an airplane, just to pick up his girlfriend.

But when they looked at the girl beside him, they thought maybe it was worth it for him act like this. ' Rich people sure can do anything ', they thought and wished that some rich boy would pursue them too.

Pallavi and Shuvam held hands and talked about stuff. After about 45-50 minutes of talking, they stopped talking and Pallavi started to enjoy the view outside. Shuvam just looked at Pallavi and smiled.

He was usually shy but he didn't know what happened, he immediately turned her face in a way that he could see her and french-kissed her. One of the air hostess and the neighbouring passengers noticed this young couples indecent acts and giggled while looking away.

Pallavi had a tinge of redness in her cheeks. She immediately acted angry and pouted while looking away. She then stood up from her seat and proceeded to the washroom after murmuring something. After a while, Shuvam stood up from his seat with a sly smile remembering whet he had just heard and proceeded to the washroom. The passengers noticed this and giggled again. The air hostesses were also giggling and blushing while thinking how daring this couple was.

He went to the washroom and knocked three times. The door opened and a jade-white hand pulled him in. The air hostesses naturally saw what happened and blushed even more.

Inside the washroom, both of them all over each other. They were kissing and were in each other's embrace. After 10 more minutes of intense ' session ', they finally got ahold of their emotions and stopped.

Shuvam went back to his seat first. His slightly disheveled clothere were surely noticed by the people. After a few minutes, Pallavi came out and sat on her seat. She so wanted to dig a hole and hide inside it. She noticed the glances of the air hostess and the passengers and was blushing hard. Her ears were also red from blushing.

She looked at her man at her side. He was sitting in her original seat, enjoying the view outside, completely oblivious to what was happening inside. She got even angrier when he told her to look at a certain cloud outside and how it looked like a tree. She had thought that he was acting to avoid the people's gazes but it seemed he really was enjoying the view.

She pinched him in the waist. " OUCH !! Why did you do that ? ", he said in a rather loud voice.

Everyone looked at his direction and he felt rather awkward. The ones who had noticed the earlier acts  this couple naturally knew what was happening and started chuckling while avoiding Shuvam's gaze.

Shuvam and Pallavi left the airport in a hurried manner. They got a taxi and went to Shuvam's apartment. His cousin was already home. He had called her saying Pallavi would be coming over today.

Supriya was surprised at first but handled it well and wanted to use this opportunity to test whether the girl was worthy of his cousin or not. She also wanted to check her personality.

They arrived home at 7:00 PM. It was already dark. Supriya had already prepared dinner. They chatted happily and went to sleep after talking till 10:30.

Pallavi was sleeping in Shuvam's room whereas Shuvam was going to sleep in his couch he had just bought.

After making sure his cousin had went to sleep. Shuvam got up and proceeded towards his room where pallavi was sleeping. He slowly crept inside the room.

a notification emerges from the streams screen, clearly signifying that this viewer was a VIP since only persons with special previlages can enjoy such features but when xu ling, feng shuang and the other viewers clicked at the link for the picture, their hairs couldn't help but stand on its own!
in the picture, feng shuang was smiling so brightly that it can lighten someones modd but there is a very strange thing that was also in the image!
15 miles away from xu ling and feng shuang's location, a bat was staring at hem with its shining red eyes while hanging at a branch!

As dawn broke, a moderate-sized aircraft landed in a nondescript Tennessee airport. From it descended about ten solemn-looking soldiers. Sticking out like a sore thumb amongst them was a conspicuously groomed, uncontrollably fidgeting teen.
The leader of the small company appeared to be a man of twenty-seven or twenty-eight, and he was focusing intently on reading the intricate device in his hands. After a long while, the man said, "We should be near by now. If we continue moving eastwards, in about two days' time, we should be there. Can someone hand me a map?"
A map was quickly unfolded and set on the floor. The rest congregated around it, spending quite some time charting their path before refolding it and putting it away. Then they stood up and prepared to move out.
"So, according to the map, there's a small town that we could stop at that's right outside of our destination, but the important thing now is to locate a serviceable car, because if it's possible, I’d like to reach our objective in under two days. Any extra time we save is useful because we have no information on the place; it might be a camp, or it could be a fortress, or anything in between." At that, the leader waved the group out of the airport to go search for cars.
The ragtag bunch of people was indeed the Black Star Unit, and the leader was naturally Yao Yuan. They had just spent one full day up in the air, or to be more precise, that and a short pit stop in Hawaii. The plane they were on was not strong enough to last the full trip over the Atlantic, so they picked Hawaii to stop for gas and maintenance.
Hawaii, like every other place in the world, was in a state of pandemonium, but luckily, the airport they landed in was far enough away from the general populace that it was still relatively functional. They even managed to procure additional fuel. However, because of that detour, they were a bit behind schedule in arriving at Tennessee.
Nevertheless, they managed to land successfully on Tennessean soil. As they left the airport, along the driveways were already a bunch of stranded cars ripe for picking. As luck would have it, the airport they came out of was in the middle of downtown. There were even still surviving American families bunkering in neighboring buildings. The Tennesseans, though, knew trouble when they spotted it. Yao Yuan's team was too heavily equipped and too proficient in their movement to be mistaken as your run-of-the-mill army soldiers. Even armed, the Tennesseans knew that this was a group that wouldn't be taken advantage of and thus opted for flight instead of fight.
And just like that, Yao Yuan's team hitched a ride out of town without much of a fuss. As they went on the freeway, their speed picked up considerably because the roads became much broader and thus the number of vehicles blocking their way become fewer in between. The result was that they came upon the town that bordered their destination earlier than previously calculated.
It was the quintessence of a pioneer's home-front; a small dwelling for a similarly small population. What was weird about the place though was that there wasn't any sign of human beings, not even those of the dead that they'd come to expect. It was as if the whole town was preserved in time, minus the populace. There was no sign of destruction nor of chaos; it was an incongruously idyllic hamlet compared to the devastation they had witnessed along the way. The effect was… unsettling, to say the least.
Yao Yuan sensed that something was wrong, so he immediately went into action. As he leapt down from his seat, he signaled his commands. The rest quickly fell into action. Yao Yuan led two other agents into the town to scout, Ying and his partner scrambled up to the roof of the car to set up their scopes, while everyone else spread out to secure the perimeter.
There was a pair though that had remained still among the flurry of activities, and that was Zhang Heng and his caretaker, Guang Zhen. Surveying the peaceful scene around them, Zhang Heng couldn't fathom the need for all these security measures. Finally, he asked Guang Zhen, "What's wrong with everybody? We finally found a town that's intact, so we should immediately drive in and go look for food first, right? Don't you people ever go hungry?"
Without turning his head away from the spot Yao Yuan had disappeared to, Guang Zhen replied, "There's something very odd about this town. There shall be no hasty movements before Ol' Cap'n Yao returns with his scouting report."
Guang Zhen's answer befuddled Zhang Heng, and so he quizzed, "Odd? What's so odd about this place? It looks so peaceful here. Open cemeteries aren't odd for you people but this place is…? Maybe the people have simply packed up and left. Have you guys thought about that?"
Guang Zhen whipped his head around and stared sternly at Zhang Heng for his folly, his displeasure with the kid's ridiculous hair further fueling his irritation. The sudden burst of ire had a shrinking effect on Zhang Heng, who stumbled a few steps back before wobbling to the ground. Seeing as the kid almost burst into tears, Guang Zhen reined in his exasperation and condescendingly said, "Everything's not as simple as you think, kid. The fact that the world's ending in eight months is public knowledge now. Facing certain death without assurance from the government who had long ago forsaken everyone, how many percent of the public do you think can maintain their sanity? My guess, and I'm guessing yours too, would be only a small percentage right? This town has at least a minimum of, let's say, 10000 people… what do you think are the chances that those 10000 people are all a part of that small percentage?
And as you can see before you, there are no blissfully carefree townsfolk mulling about; they've disappeared without a trace it would seem. Why do you think that's so?"
As color returned to his face, Zhang Heng subconsciously echoed, "Why?"
"Wipeout, massacre, migration, or… most possibly, we have a trap before us!"
At that response, all of the color that had previously returned to Zhang Heng slowly seeped away. Wipeout… Massacre… Trap… none of these were terms were part of his everyday vocabulary, much less his everyday life. To have landed in such possibilities as a normal teen, a mere nobody, he… was stunned into speechlessness.
Luckily, reality wasn't as bad as Guang Zhen thought. Not long after, Yao Yuan returned with everyone else. There weren't traps in town nor were there signs of bioterrorism or radiation. There were no literal skeletons hiding in the closet. The fact was that their search didn’t even turn up one dead body. However, Yao Yuan did manage to solve the mystery of the curated town. The answer came to him when his exploration came upon a fast-food restaurant. After his investigating it, he knew that the town was considerably safe, so he finally relaxed.
Based on the degree of decomposition of the food in the restaurant, it had been at least two months since the town had had human contact. In other words, the townspeople most likely were evacuated around then. Yao Yuan's deduction was that the evacuation was carried out due to the town's proximity to the secret base. To safeguard the secrecy of the spacecraft and its operations, the townspeople had to be moved.
"Or at least that's my speculation," explained Yao Yuan, between bites of canned food that they had retrieved from around town. "Of course, this is not to exclude the possibility of a secret wipeout. In any case, it's all in the past, so it doesn't concern us. Let's finish our meal and get to that base immediately. I've had a bad taste in my mouth all day. It feels like the biggest hurdle has yet to come."
And so, the team wrapped up their quick dinner and moved on their expedient way towards the locale pinpointed by the coordinates. After a few more hours on the freeway, they veered into a side lane that was attached to an outpost. Naturally, it was deserted. As they carried on, they passed through more outposts that were similarly empty. Finally, at around three in the early morning, they arrived at the spot where their map had painted as a mountainous, barren wasteland. Imagine their surprise and consternation when in reality they had driven into a secluded mountain valley.
As the team passed through the final outpost, the scene that greeted them put everyone on edge. The concrete floor before them was pockmarked with explosive shrapnel and bullet holes, and equally disheartening was the presence of a few dead bodies and what would appear to be spherical parts from some mechanical remains. The bodies were fresh kills; they had fallen only yesterday or the day before that.
"Be on alert! Ying, prepare to snipe; Lee, you're with me; Wong, take the rest and secure the perimeter! Ebon1, cover us!"
Right after he issued the commands, Yao Yuan slipped out through the car window and dashed to the nearest cadaver. He felt the inert body before taking a whiff of its blood to help procure a rudimentary reading of the situation. A few seconds later, as his team fell in place, he started to take careful steps toward the spherical object.
As Yao Yuan investigated the strange machinery, Lee and one other scout moved ahead for further exploration. Within 30 seconds, a shrill eagle's call came from the pair, which gave everyone a millisecond-long daze before they trained weapons at the call's direction. However, the call quickly transformed into a more mellifluous quail's birdsong, and without hesitation, Yao Yuan instantly headed its way.
A few hundred meters’ jog later, Yao Yuan spotted a bloody figure grasping for breath up against one of the fortress walls. As he moved closer, he confirmed that the figure was a heavily-built man with bushy brows and large eyes. Despite preliminary bandage work, a copious amount of blood was free-flowing from his chest and stomach. It didn't take long for him to lose consciousness, either from passing out… or from death.
Upon closer examination, recognition dawned on Yao Yuan. The man was his old nemesis, the leader of the Dragon Prosper squad. Yao Yuan promptly retrieved bottled water from his backpack and poured it down the man's throat. As the man coughed up the liquid, he hazily opened his eyes. Quite some time passed before he could get them to focus on Yao Yuan's face.
"Yao… Yao Yuan? How can you be there? This is Tenne…" asked the man in shock, but before long, that shock turned into a booming howl. "Of course, I should have known that those bastards would have tipped you off on this place as well. Yes, it's true, there's indeed a spacecraft locked behind these walls, the very last one. But alas, it's so close yet so far. This thing here is impenetrable; it's on complete lockdown and the passwords they gave us were all false! They initiated the automated defense protocol. It's a bloody trap and my squad walked right into it!" At this point, the gravitas that had appeared moments before from seeing his nemesis had run its course, and as his breath slowed, the man lamented, in a dwindling voice, "To think of the unspeakable things that we've done for them… and this is how they repay us… How typical… But fear not… Yao Yuan… I shall reserve some seats for the Black Star Unit down below… I'll see you then…" As he uttered those words, the man bled out.
After paying his final respects to his once formidable opponent, Yao Yuan collected himself. As he stood up, he addressed the gathered group. "Alright, team, it's going to be a harsh battle ahead. I want everyone to be ready with their weapons and ammo. And prep Zhang Heng with the laptop and hacking equipment. We're going to storm this base… And remember, as the Black Star Unit, we are not given the choice to fail!"
"FOR GLORY!"
"OR FOR DEATH!" rallied the group before charging into the ominously dark entrance of the base with Yao Yuan leading the way. That is… other than Zhang Heng, who was still unfamiliar with the group's dynamic. He fell behind after stumbling a few paces.

The age of cosmos exploration! 


Sarah and Aiden headed next morning to meet with their kids. 
As much as they wanted to stay in Los Angeles and find out what JoAnna recommends for Charlie's treatment, meeting kids took priority because they have a lot of newcomers. It's important to be there and make sure they know the rules and to set expectations from the start. They can't rely on their seven kids and house staff to do that for them. 
When they arrived in United States from Sierra Leone, Sarah and Aiden left all the kids (and Jesse) at their beach house in California, told them to rest and eat and that they will be back in two days. Staff in the house was instructed to take care of sleeping arrangements and clothes for the newcomers, and to make sure they get their meals on time. 
Well, this is the second day since their expanded family arrived in US, and Sarah and Aiden are going to meet with them. They have plans. First is to see how kids are doing health-wise, and they arranged for a mobile clinic to come to the property that day. Second is to gauge current knowledge of newcomers and based on that to plan for their education. Considering that in the last year their bodies suffered harsh treatment, Sarah and Aiden don't plan to start any physical trainings other than daily runs to increase their stamina gradually. Once a week, mobile clinic will come to check on them, and only when they get an OK from the doctor, kids can start more intense training. 
Sarah felt a bit less guilty for leaving Los Angeles while thinking that Jarred and Charlie said they will be in Los Angeles for a week, so they will have chance to meet with them later.
Sarah was happy that Jeff gave them his jet to use and was surprised when he mentioned that they can use it anytime. That is unusually generous of him. Sarah told Aiden that as long as Jeff is letting them use his jet, they don't need to buy one for themselves. Sarah does not know that with this 'act of generosity' Jeff is preventing them from buying a jet because he wants to gift them one for when they get married. And Jeff's plan is working flawlessly, so far.
Another good thing is that the runway on their property is done. There was no space for it previously, but since Aiden secured two neighboring lots, now the house is on a three-in-one massive piece of land, and they had no problems finding the location for a medium size runway. This saved them more than an hour in driving from the nearest airport and it will be less time consuming to move between houses.
Most of their ride to the airport, Sarah was on the phone with Sophia. When she ended the call, she updated Aiden: "Big sis and Felix are coming to Los Angeles in two days! They will stay with Jeff and Anna. They are considering moving to Los Angeles!"
Sarah saw that Aiden is smiling… probably because he finds her excitement entertaining, but she does not mind. She continued: "I hope they work out the company HQ move as well. Then it will be permanent. Sophia even mentioned that if this works out, she will discuss with Jeff possibilities for Orion Enterprise to merge with White corp. Can you believe that? If that works out, then all three Hill sisters will be working at White corp.!"
Aiden laughed. "I'm not sure if that is you three working at White corp. or taking over."
Sarah laughed with him. She likes the idea very much and hopes it will work out… all of them working together. Having Sophia and Felix close by and in the same company would be something amazing! Sarah could already imagine them meeting for lunch… six of them. Oh, and Steve and Bridgette as well! So, eight of them like one big family.
Aiden's question pulled her out of her thoughts: "What are Stella and Edward saying related to Sophia and Felix moving to Los Angeles?"
"I don't think they talked with them about it. I guess Sophia doesn't want to talk about it until they decide. I can assume that my parents will not be very thrilled if they end up moving away from Seattle." Sarah was so happy about the idea of Sophia coming to Los Angeles that she forgot to think how that will impact their parents. Even if they are sad that Sophia is moving away, they should be happy that their three daughters will be close by. Right?
During the flight, Aiden and Sarah discussed how to name this house. Their home is 'Cliffside villa', and they thought that this house should get a name as well because 'Beach house' somehow doesn't do it justice because it's not really on the beach (you need to descend stone steps to reach the beach), and there is a large training grounds, and a bat cave... After some time, they were still struggling with the name, and decided to keep it as a 'Beach house', for now.
Sarah frowned while reading one of her emails.
"What's bothering you?", Aiden never missed when her mood dropped.
"Emir is asking for hundredth time: When will we meet?" Sarah grumbled.
"Can you blame him? I remember that in June you promised them to meet in three months when we left early… it's September."
Sarah grimaced, showing her displeasure. "I know… and I feel guilty about this, trust me, I do. But this month is packed with events and I don't even know where we can meet! They can't come to US because they need visas, and we always kept our meetings low key without leaving traces about our identities. That means we need to meet in Europe, and we don't have a secure location to meet."
Aiden's eyes lit up, and he started typing on his laptop while talking: "About the location… After we met with Nick, I asked Toma to speed up the process with geologists about digging deeper at the island, and the results came negative. They don't recommend going deeper than what already is. Since then, I'm looking for something, and I think this might work..." Aiden turned his laptop so that Sarah can see the screen. 
Sarah stared at the screen and swallowed non-existent saliva.
"What do you think?" Aiden asked while trying to hold back laughter. Sarah's expression was comical.
Her eyes darted few times from the screen to his face and back to the screen before she answered: "It's a castle…"

"Until few weeks ago I would say that there is no such thing as destiny. That we are all masters of our lives and that everything depends on our actions, or lack of it. But I can't help but wonder: why did I not push you away? ... Why does it feel like everything will be OK as long as we are together? ... You are a piece of me that I never knew was missing. Is this destiny?" 
"Mmm... if that is destiny, then I approve it.", Aiden lightly kissed Sarah's shoulder and rested his chin on it.

"How did it happen?" asked Master Yao Lao.
"She was pricked by the hedgehog, and… and this happened," Ye Yuwei gibbered anxiously, her heart in her mouth.
Gu Juexi held her hand tightly and said, "Yuan Mo captured the hedgehog from the hill and Weiwei had disinfected it earlier so it should be no problem."
"Both of you, take her to the hospital for a blood test immediately. Xicheng, bring me the hedgehog," commanded Master Yao Lao, as sharp as a tack.
"Okay," Ye Xicheng said and left quickly.
Ye Yuwei and Gu Juexi brought Xixi to the nearest hospital for the blood test. Ye Yuwei was a bundle of nerves as she held Xixi in her arms.
Fortunately, the hospital was less crowded than the hospital in the big city, hence the blood test was completed in an instant and they received the results not long after.
"Mommy," whimpered Xixi softly, leaning into her mother's embrace. Ye Yuwei hugged her tightly. 
Gu Juexi stepped on the gas, his hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly his veins were popping out visibly.
"It's ok, it's alright, Mommy is here." Ye Yuwei had no idea if she was consoling Xixi or herself.
Master Yao Lao was sending off the last patient of the day and was waiting for the reports in her clinic.
Ye Yuwei and Gu Juexi brought Xixi back to the clinic. For Ye Yuwei, every second Master Yao Lao took to study the reports was torture.
Gu Juexi put his hand around Ye Yuwei's shoulder and was equally agitated waiting for the final reports from Master Yao Lao. On the contrary, Xixi was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, sharing the candies she pestered her mommy to buy with her brother.
Wen Jie stood beside Ye Yuwei and held her hand. "It's going to be alright."
Xixi's blood test reports were an ocean of worrying red. Ye Yuwei remembered the doctor's pale face clearly when he gave them the report.
How could she not worry?
Master Yao Lao's face turned more ashen after reading the reports.
"Xixi, can you tell Granny if there is any discomfort?" Master Yao Lao asked Xixi who was eating candies delightedly.
Xixi looked up at Master Yao Lao and blinked her large eyes innocently. "I feel fine, can I stop taking the bitter medicine, please?"
Her answer confused Master Yao Lao even more.
Her blood test results were disturbingly bad, but her pulse read was better than before and she even looked healthy and well. She had never seen anything like this before.
Ye Yuwei stared at Master Yao Lao anxiously, as though she was waiting for a death penalty verdict.
Finally, Master Yao Lao placed the reports down and commented, "There's nothing to worry about. Xixi is fine, it's nothing serious."
Upon hearing this, the millstone around Ye Yuwei's neck was finally removed, her back drenched in sweat. Gu Juexi was relieved as well.
"But her blood—" asked Ye Yuwei cautiously with bated breath.
Master Yao Lao patted Xixi's head and said, "Nothing critical for the time being."
For the time being?
Ye Yuwei looked at Gu Juexi and they exchanged worried glances.
Gu Juexi patted her shoulder comfortingly and asked, "Yao Lao, what do you think about the integration of western and traditional Chinese treatment? Do you think it will work better?"
If it was a better alternative, he would spend all the money in the world to bring in the best doctor for Xixi's treatment.
However, this matter made Gu Juexi's already critical illness worse.
Master Yao Lao was at the end of her wits as well, so she agreed to Gu Juexi's suggestion.
Gu Juexi contacted Lu Qichuan quickly and instructed him to contact the doctor.
Lu Qichuan was currently at the airport in the States, waiting to board the plane to head back home. After he heard Gu Juexi's order, he interjected immediately, "If you do not return to B City right now, you will become the target of your enemies' attack."


He was the powerful and influencing heir of B City, the merciless head of the commercial world, but the divorce papers made him lose his cool. 
“Sign the divorce papers, daddy,” said the 5-year-old boy. 
This man had the divorce papers thrown in his face by his wife six years ago, and was now being pushed by his own son to sign the papers. 
“That would make you a single-parent child,” said Gu Juexi coldly. 
“Mommy said unicorns don’t exist but men like you do,” the boy leered at his father and said. 
Gu Juexi’s face fell. ‘That damned woman.’
“You haven’t signed the papers,” the boy reminded as the man left. As usual, the door shut in his face. 
Good lord… Dad and mom are not getting a divorce and are giving him a baby brother? How worrying!

It has been 2 days since marriage and things are already settling down. Guests and other people have already departed. Even Kripa who was supposed to stay, have already left due to some urgent call from home but he has promised Akash to visit sometime soon in Pune.

It is 5th July today. On the breakfast table, the whole family is sitting. The family of Varsha is informed that the boy's family will depart today and they are going to come in the afternoon to meet. Varsha is informed of this and she is anticipating to meet with them again before she goes to Pune.

Grandpa looked toward his granddaughter-in-law and asked "Dear! How do you want to go to Pune? Train or Plane?" 

Grandpa wanted to let Varsha feel one with family, so he asked for her opinion. Akash showed the wronged expression and said: "You did not ask us when we came from Pune."

Grandma looked at her grandson and said smiling "We wanted you to experience new things."

"Old man and woman both have excuses for everything. We ate unhygienic food, I was almost strangled by the crowd and harassed by transgenders. I better not experience these things my whole life." Akash muttered. 

Grandpa and grandma ignored the muttering of Akash but Varsha who is sitting beside him could not help but giggle. Akash looked at her daringly and she laughed harder which also made his sister Ira laugh. 

After this everyone kept eating breakfast. Grandpa continued reading the newspaper while eating. Grandma kept reprimanding old man for not concentrating on food while eating. 

Varsha understood that Akash does not wish to go by train, so she already decided to ask to go by Plane but she needs a reason to say that. She nudged Ira on her side and whispered in her ears "Ask me to go by plane." 

Ira looked at her sister-in-law questioningly and then it dawned at her while seeing the shy expression of Varsha. She really likes this caring sister-in-law of hers.

Ira coughed and to get everyone's attention and then asked loudly to her sister-in-law "Sister-in-law! You love me the most in our family, right?"

This thing caught the attention of everyone at the table. The question of Ira made Varsha feel embarrassed again. Her this new sister is really creative with her ways. She looked shyly toward Akash and seeing his annoyed expression and tearing the bread like murdering someone made her almost laugh. Her shyness went away and she laughed and turned to Ira and said: "Of course."

Ira then held the arm of her sister-in-law and chirped happily "Then please tell Grandpa that we will go by plane. Okay? I have also not traveled by plane before and this is a good chance."

"Don't affect her decision. Let our granddaughter-in-law decide." Grandma scolded Ira.

Ira scoffed "Because she is my beloved sister-in-law and my new friend, so she will do what I like. Right sister-in-law?" Ira turned to Varsha and hugged her arm. 

Varsha smiled and told to Grandpa "Grandpa! Let us go by plane. This will also be my first time on the plane." Varsha lowered her head and said shyly "Although I have also never traveled by train, train travel experience we can get while visiting local places sometimes. So let us travel by plane first because such a chance will not come anytime soon."

Ira shouted while hugging the arm of Varsha "Sister-in-law is so great. I love you." Everyone including Varsha could not stop laughing on her declaration.

Akash looked at his sister and muttered "One traitor and a Peasant girl who did not even ride train before." And asked Varsha "Have you at least ridden bus before?"

Varsha stopped laughing and looked at Akash and understood his irritation and then said "Let me think" and suddenly made a gesture of thinking hard while scratching her head. This brought another wave of laughter on the table.

In his frustration, Akash dug up another spoonful of breakfast and put into his mouth and stopped talking. Varsha looked at everyone with her innocent eyes. 

Grandpa and Grandma smiled at her. "My daughter-in-law is so cute" Even mother of Akash could not stop saying which made Varsha also shut up due to embarrassment.

Soon after breakfast, Grandpa Patel called his travel agent to book everyone's ticket to Pune and within an hour tickets are received and the flight is in the evening from Banaras which is three hours ride by car from Singrauli city.

The family of Varsha and other village elders came to the city to see them off. Everyone is praising the good fortune of Akash. He came to see the bride and is going back after one month with the bride. His earnings are higher than anyone else. 

Akash does not know whether to laugh or cry when he heard people talking in such an exaggerated manner. Seeing his wife who is responding to all the compliments with a smile, He felt like donating all the earnings from this trip to charity. 

By the evening, the Patel family departed for nearest big city Banaras where the airport is.

He is a third generation heir of famous Patel family in Pune, India. His family has made a name for themselves in restaurant chain business. They have also many franchises in different cities of India.

He is proud, cold and highly intelligent. Everyone thinks in his big family that he can bring greater prosperity to the family after two generation of hard work.

He has just completed his masters in management from one of the most reputed universities in India. He is a dream husband for many girls and dream son-in-law for many business class families. The only flaw in his personality is that he is a person with a traditional cultured view about family and relationships. Well, it is flaw according to modern thinkers and the girls mostly.

His mother is afraid he will be taken advantage of because he is too emotional. And then the person who takes advantage of him is his grandmother, whom he loves and cares about the most in the family. She has promised a relative in the village that she will set up a marriage between their families and now her most favorite grandson has to do it for her.

His dream of a fairy tale love gets shattered just like that. 

She was a hard working girl in her family. She has passed 12th grade with first division from the government school in the village. When she was 10 years old she was told by her grandmother that her marriage was fixed in a family in the city. 

She has learned to cook food, have been extra attentive in her studies and also tried to learn English well because she wanted to make her husband proud. 

She completed her education of up to 12th grade at the age of 17. After that, she could not go to college because the city was far from her village and because of being everyone's darling in the family they did not wish to send her away. It was already decided that at the age of 20 she will be married and she will go to the city. So, everyone in the family said that she can do college at that time. 

So her last 3 years from the age of 17 to 20 in the village were gone while learning to cook food, doing vegetable gardening and serving her elders and dreaming of her husband. Will he look like one of those actors in movies? I should perfect myself in cooking and learn how to respect elders, what if I embarrassed him in front of his family and relatives? I should take care of myself and not get any wound or scars while doing garden work or cooking on the stove, what if he finds me ugly? 

In the summer of year when she turned 20, her family received a call that people of boy's family are coming to see the girl and fix the marriage date and the boy is also coming. 

She felt like her dream is going to come true. She felt shy, self-conscious and dazed all the time. 

Finally, her dream of fairy tale love and the valiant prince is going to come true.
