This first card isn't actually a original card but an existing card I have changed slightly for the story, that I want to record. Number S39 Utopia Prime.

So long as your life points are 1000 or less you can detach 3 Overlay Units from this card and pay LP so that you only have 10 left; destroy as many Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls as possible, and if you do, banish them, then inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each monster banished.

If you do this cards level becomes the same level as the monster you banished and it becomes a dragon type monster until end of turn, when this card is summoned this way and leaves play banish it.

[Description: A mallet made of the rare yellow wood in the Forest Monster territory, which contains a mysterious power. It is said that anything struck by it will break, but no one knows how to really draw out this force!]

"It's true. The Forest Monster territory has objects that contain part of the Transcendent power!"
Ji Ye studied the mallet in his hand. It was not much longer than 30cm, the color looked timeworn to the point of looking shaggy, and it didn't weigh much either. 
But this yellow mallet was actually very powerful.
Although Lu Zhishen's Frost Metal Meditation Staff was forged by the blacksmith of the clan, because of the material, it was still a piece of Extraordinary equipment, not to mention its great weight. However, when the mallet smashed into it in the battle, almost one-quarter of the staff was shattered.
And like the Totem Wolf Skin of the Human race, this mysterious mallet hadn't been able to exert all its Transcendent power.
Needless to say, this yellow mallet was a rare exotic treasure. If one could use it well, it would be no less valuable than the Totem Wolf Skin.

Because the green and red trees weren't the only trees in that land. There were also the purple trees, which were of an even higher grade.
Before, the pair of purple wooden sticks in the Forest Monster King's hands were evolved from the red wood.
Apart from the "self-healing" property, it also had the ability to "transform" when the extraordinary power in it was activated.
Other than that, its extraordinary power was more powerful than the red wood. It could store the kinetic energy in the battle and suddenly release it when activated, greatly increasing the power of the attack!
Before, in the battle with the Forest Monster King, Ji Ye had mistaken the ability for a weight gain after the transformation.
However, come to think of it, this was the right explanation.
Moreover, the pair of purple wooden sticks of the Forest Monster King was ranked as high as Extraordinary Rank-5. After the king was killed, they both became offerings of the Superior grade!

After thinking for a while, Ji Ye's expression suddenly changed.
There was a cooldown time of nearly 10 days after he fused the Legendary bloodline, but now, he could finally use the Fusion talent again.
"So, let's do this!"
Without hesitation, Ji Ye picked up the bigger and smaller Mirage Dragon teeth, which seemed to be enshrouded by mist.

As expected, it was Perfect.
However, the property was a little surprising. After the Fusion, the Mirage Dragon's Tooth didn't have a specific rarity!
Judging by the description, the situation had occurred because the extraordinary power in the entire Mirage Dragon's Tooth was in two parts. One part was the power injected by the Mirage clan when they refined, and the other part was the remainder power of the Mirage Dragon itself!

Hello Guys, this is not a chapter, but contains information about YuGiOh itself, just some basic knowledge to understand it better, I recommend reading it if you have not played yugioh at all or very little, since it explains the mechanics of some cards.

First off all, I am doing this for my personal enjoyment and as a hobby, so I will write when I have the time to, i have to still make a living outside the web. 

Let's get right to it.

Yu-Gi-Oh is a card game, if you are not aware of it, do some simple searching of it on the web. In this novel, there will be at these cards available.

Normal Monster Cards

XYZ-Monster Cards
Spell Cards(and variants, ritual spells, quick spells, continuous spells, field spells and etc)
Trap Cards (and variants)

The reason I don't want to include Pendulum a d whatever came afterwards is because I stopped playing less after pendulum and when the new mechanic was introduced later, i stopped playing, the game was just not the same as it was before. It became harder to understand than League of Legends and Dota combined. 

Not to mention that you need to know all relevant cards effects and there were just too many new cards to keep up with as a working man.

Before we go to explain the cards; the game mechanics that will be relevant to the story and not the game, obviously the game is different, for example you can draw 1 card every turn and normal summon 1 monster every turn unless a card specifies otherwise, so we will not include all game rules.

Let's start:

-Every monster card has a level. 
Lv 1/4: they can be summoned to the field during the normal summon
Lv 5/6: Need to tribute 1 monster card to summon it
Lv 7+: Requires to tribute 2 monsters unless specified otherwise(Like the 3 Egyptian god cards that require 3 tributes.)

-Spell cards can be used whenever and where ever, unlike the game, where normal spell cards are useless during opponents turn, here, it does not matter as long the spell cards has no specific conditions. (Yea you will hear that a lot, many cards need conditions to be used xd)

-Trap cards, unlike spell cards, they need to be placed first. Now, depending on the trap cards; it can be used like a spell card, while some can't.

A good example for these 2 is the Spell card "A messenger of Peace." Where it restricts cards above 1500ATK to attack, so it will require to be used in spots, where strong enemies can't fight unless they destroy the card, each card will have it's real counterpart in the real world that can be destroyed. That simple. Same goes with trap cards, it all depends on the traps.

There are some cards that are simply over powered in the game, Like Harpies Feather duster, or Monster Reborn. There is no ban list, so everything can be drawn( I am doing a total random draw for each card; I might change the type it will be, but the card itself is random, so it will be more like, choose your own adventure for me to draw. XD.)

-Special Monsters, can be normal summoned like normal monsters, but each of them has an effect, for example Mystic Tomato, upon its destruction(death) it can summon a dark type monster under 1500ATK. Most of the cards are unique with their effects, though some similar, never the 'same'.

-Fusion Monster Cards are, well Fusion cards. They can't be normal summoned since they reside in the extra deck(in the game) so pretty much always they will be special summoned.
Depending on the card, you need to have 2 or more cards fuse into them, most if the time with the help of the spell card 'Polymorization'

For example, Elemental HERO Flamewingman(that's it's real name) who needs Elemental Hero Avian and Elemental Hero Burstinatrix(these names tho). There are many fusion monsters available and some are straight up broken, but I will have to prey those broken ones don't come, or the story might change the tags fk OP MC instead.

-Ritual Monster Cards
Unlike fusion Monsters, they don't reside in the extra deck. These cards are blue in color and need a ritual spell card for the specific monster, afterwards, when the ritual spell card is used, monsters need to be sacrificed based on their levels, until the combined levels sacrificed is equal or more than the ritual monsters( Some ritual cards require an EXACT amount of levels, while others don't, it is all written on the cards. Personally I think most ritual cards suck, except for Nekroz, who were ruling at one point and some stand alone ritual cards that are banned because of how broken they are/were.)

- XYZ Monster Cards 
Just like fusion cards; these cards reside in the extra deck and can't be normal summoned, instead these cards require a specific condition or have to be special summoned from the extra deck by a card capable of doing it. 

It's normal summoning condition is always written on the card; but it requires 2 or more(most of the time, idk there might be exceptions) monster cards of the same level, stacked up on each other.... in other words, sacrificed 2 monsters of the same level to summon a XYZ monster of the same level.

For example A level 4 XYZ Monster Card( A generic one that does not require specific types, attributes or archtypes) needs 2 (or more, depending on the card... there is a lot of reading in Yu-Gi-Oh...) as sacrifices to summon it, in return you cab active its special effect equal to the number of sacrificed monsters. To compensate, most of these monsters have great effects, tho limited in number. My personal favourite card type; so expect to see it more(am gonna be a bit biased here)

I don't know if I forgot anything, but if I did; I will probably explain anything during the novel; just not so in dept. 

Now, some words before we start. 

I know I did not Synchro monsters even though the came out before XYZ.  The reason for that is simply because there will be too much for the casual reader that doesn't know yugioh much. Like, how you need a Tuner monster card, then a different monster card or more than 1 or a specific monster cards that requires their combined levels to be equal to the synchro monster(or more in some cases, idk, I might have forgotten some) then they get sacrificed for a synchro monster.

Who knows I might add them; Stardust Dragon was always one of my favourite cards.

Although I stated that the cards will be random, it obviously won't be 100% random. for example if I get a fusion monster card in the random draw, that needs Monster A and Monster B, I will OBVIOUSLY try to put those cards there, otherwise it will limit the story development. I want to have it a bit random, but still in control over its general directions.

An example would be go get a lv 4 monster card that is humanoid, or a lv 4 monster card that is a fish. Obviously each will have different uses, since; unlike the game, fishes can't fight outside water. 

Not gonna lie, I am still figuring some things out, but I am really excited to start writing and stop explaining. so bear with me here. And if anyone has any suggestions; please say. If there is a specific card that you think would be great for the story, write it In the comments and I'll see if i can fit it somewhere.

Hey! I'm your friendly neighborhood author, and since my computer broke writing isn't exactly easy... so I decided to make something that'd be less popular on my phone! Anyways, here are the things you need to know while reading:

Format:

During duels, each turn will end with character dialogue and the symbols/letters of:

[Character1: LifePoint/ Character2: LifePoint]

For example:

"Heh... I end my turn with a face down!"

[Seto Kaiba: 3500/ Yugi Moto: 2000]

Cards will be formatted like this:

[Card Name/ Card Type/ ATK POINTS (if there are any) / DEF POINTS(if there are any)]

Effects will be explained via character dialogue.

All duels in this fanfic will be in separate chapters from the story, so if you don't wanna see them, you really don't have to! I do recommend reading through the major ones though, those will have quite a bit of story to them. Don't worry, I'll put [MAJOR] in duel titles if they are!

Next, please read the basics of the rules so as to gain an understanding of what's going on:
(If you already know the rules, just take note of the following:

Life points in this series will be set to 4000 upon duel start, characters cannot set monsters face down unless they have a flip effect, and this fanfic uses master rule 3.)

Each player gets 5 slots to play their monster cards. Each player gets 5 spell slots to play their spell and trap cards.

There are multiple types of summoning, this series will have:

Normal Summoning - Each person only gets one normal summon per turn, each monster below level 5 can be normal summoned, unless stated otherwise by the card.

Tribute Summoning - Another type of normal summoning, for level 5-12 monster cards. You must sacrifice/send monsters to the graveyard for this type of summon.
(Level 5-6 monsters require one sacrifice, 7-12 require two.)

Special Summoning - There are an infinite amount of special summons in one turn, normally special summons happen due to a spell or trap card effect, but monsters have effects that allow for special summoning too.

Fusion Summoning -  Another type of special summoning. Fusion monsters are contained in the "Extra Deck." You can summon a fusion monster by using a spell or trap that allows you to fuse two or more monsters listed on a fusion monster's card.
(Fusion material/ the monsters you sacrifice to fusion summon are sent to the graveyard unless specifically stated otherwise.)

Players start with 5 cards in hand and draw one card every turn.

Decks can have 40-60 cards.

Those are the bare bones basics, any extra info will be explained in duel chapters and/or in the classroom (story takes place in an academy.)

"Status – special skills," Ethan summoned his status.

"Ahahah, this is really great. Maybe I'm not unlucky after all," said Ethan while smiling. He gave out a big smile.

"Let's check the skill one by one. Fusion: Monsters - Fuse animals/monsters to create stronger animal/monster. This skill will be really useful for me. My tame skill is not related to any of my talent. Since I can't take any monsters until my tame skill's grade increase, I can tame normal animals, fuse them and create stronger animals. Nice~" 

"Fusion: Skills - Fuse skills of same elements or same categories or same skills. Huh? The description is vague. Will it create new skills if I fuse them? This skill needs some test but, skills are expensive. Sigh, I'm not a rich man."

There were many shops selling and buying skills. Since finding skills from monster drops were super rare, skills were sold at a really high price. If you're super lucky, sometimes the system will create a skill related to your talents. Either you take it or sold it and buy much better skills. The cheapest skill on the market was Cooking: Fried Egg which was 100 gold coins.

"Fusion: Equipment - Fuse equipment of the same type. This is good too but I need appraisal skills to see the equipment stats. Again, my problem is money," Ethan rubbed his forehead. Ethan continued "All these fusion skills are all great but they can only be used once per month. They didn't use MP but has limit. It doesn't have any grade too so I can't upgrade them. This is the difference between normal skills and special skills."

"Talents Absorb - Absorb anything that related to the talents and absorb it to increase the specific talents' affinity. So I can absorb anything related to my talents and increase it?" Ethan looked around. Ethan then went into the bathroom. There was a big barrel filled with water. Ethan dip both his hands into the water. He took a deep breath and said "Please work… Talents Absorb."

The water in the barrel shone and then disappear. 'Ting~ Talents, Water Element affinity increase from 1% to 2%.'

Ethan shocked not because his water element affinity increase but because the skill sucked all the water in the barrel but only increase the talents to 2%.

"Increasing my talents will take a long time. If it only increased my talents by 1% every time I use this skill, then it will take 99 months or almost 9 years to get my talents to 100%. It sounds like a long time but this is worth it. I can increase mine, so it's all good."

"That's right, I can increase my cooking and sewing talents too," Ethan went to the kitchen and took the kitchen knife and to his room and took the sewing needle.

"Talents Absorb"

'Ting~ Ting~ Talents, cooking and sewing both increase from 1% to 2%'

Ethan checked his next special skill. "Limit – Can't advance to the next level until all stats reach their limit... Why is this a special skill? Sigh, it will be hard for me to level up."

In order to advance in level, it is necessary to at least has one stats reach the limit. However, to advance in Rank, 3 stats were needed to reach the limit.

"Next skill, drops 50% - Drop rates increase to 50%," Ethan smiled. "I love this skill. I will be able to save money faster with this skill."

Monsters will drop few things when killed. They will drop materials originated from their body for example meats, bones, pelt, eyes, tongue, nails and many more. Sometimes they drop random skills. The drop rate for material was 20% while drop rate for skills was 1%. The materials drop rate only applied inside a dungeon because monster inside a dungeon will instantly disappeared once killed.

"I need to save money and buy appraisal skills. I can't test the other special skills without appraisal. The most important things to do now is to increase my stats. With these stats I won't even survive for 1 second in the wild," Ethan checked how much money he had. "40 silver 80 copper coins," Ethan went out and carefully walking in the streets. After around an hour of walks, he reached an accessory store. He pushed the store's door with all his strength and enter the store.

"Hah, hah. That door is really heavy," Ethan gasped.

"Welcome, how may I help you, sir?" the shopkeeper looked at Ethan who was gasping for some air and asked, "Are you okay, sir?"

"Yes, I'm okay. I need accessory that can increase hp and strength," asked Ethan.

"What grade are you looking for?" asked the shopkeeper.

"Grade 10"

Just like skills, equipment also had their own grades. Grade 10 was the lowest followed by 9, 8, 7, 6 and so on. The highest grade is 1 but Grade 1 to 4 was impossible to find in a shop. If a ranker wanted them, they can only be found in auction.

The shopkeeper brought out 2 boxes filled with plain copper ring.

"This is all the Grade 10 accessories we have that can increase your hp and strength," said the shopkeeper while smiling.

"How much is the increase?" asked Ethan.

"All the hp ring in this box increase hp by 10 points and all the strength ring increase strength by 5 points. The hp ring is 2 silver per ring and the strength ring cost 4 silver per ring."

"I'll take 1 hp ring and 2 strength ring"

"The totals are 10 silver coins,"

Outside the accessory shop.

"I feel so much better now. Now, I need a weapon and armor"

Ethan then went to a weapon shop and bought a Grade 10 Iron dagger with +10 atk and Grade 10 Iron chest plate with +10 def both for a total of 20 silver coins.

"I want to register as an adventurer but I think I'm not capable yet to accept any quest."

Ethan decide to train a bit at the prairie outside the city. Only weak monster can be found there so it's not dangerous. Ethan walked towards the city gate and reach the prairie. To his surprise, there were a lot of people there. They were all just like him, teenagers who just awaken their power. 

"They are all training so hard. I need to work harder so I won't be left behind," Ethan got excited.
Ethan walked near the city wall to be safe. He was looking for a baby slime, the weakest monster that can be found in the prairie. Other than slime, horned rabbit, red magpie and boxing squirrel can be found in this prairie. 

The horned rabbit, as the name implied was a rabbit with horned. There were many types of horned rabbit but the most common one that be found in the prairie was the white horned rabbit. 

Red magpie is fast and can use fire magic. The most common fire magic they use were fire ball and fire spit. There was once a red magpie that can use inferno appeared but were killed soon after that.

Boxing squirrel is the most dangerous monster in the prairie. They cannot use magic but their nimbleness and strong attack can kill low level people easily.

 Although slime is considered the weakest monster in the prairie, there were actually a lot of really strong slime but they can't be found in the prairie. The one living in the prairie were all the most basic slime. They can't use magic, they only bouncing around and tackle their opponents.

Ethan tried his best to avoid the horned rabbit, red magpie and boxing squirrel and finally he found the target that he was looking for, the baby slime.

"I found you!"

The One is a title obtain during the awakening ceremony. Teens who obtains this title is considered genius as the 'The One' title will help them improve faster.

Ethan never once dreams of becoming an adventurer even if he becomes a Ranker. He wants to become a farmer just like his parents. However, an event cause him to becomes an adventurer. 

The awakening ceremony happen and he awakened his power. To his surprise... his stats, skills, and talents are a total mess and he also did not get 'The One' title.

The water blade that was emitting a strange light swept back and forth, cutting deep wounds on the sea monster's body.
The water blade continued to cut a few more times, cutting off the remaining two heads. However, the sea monster did not die. Instead, it struggled even more intensely.
The intense pain caused the monster to go crazy.
Its entire body rolled up and down, creating huge waves. Blue blood filled the entire sea area. It was a spectacular scene.
The people on the Lucas were stunned when they saw this scene.
