Designers were pursuing their dreams in New York, which was a paradise in their eyes. Even a studio on Grace Building was enough for them.
 Qin Guan's status as a student protected him well. He was not interested in looking for an agent there.
 Many Chinese models had agents, while others worked independently.
 They got a little tired when they attended auditions, but they were able to avoid lots of trouble. It was a good choice for Qin Guan at the time.
 Besides, there was no model union in New York, like the actor union on Broadway or Hollywood. There was only one in the UK.
 The brave Asian boy jumped into the melting pot.
 It was Xu Xiaoxiao, and not his girlfriend, who was interested in the auditions the most.
 Clinging to the notion that Qin Guan didn’t have a car, he offered to be his temporary driver while Qin Guan was looking for a part-time job.

 He tried his best to fix his eyes on the steering wheel, afraid that he would get dizzy and cause an accident on the busy street.
 After a long time, Xu came back to his senses. He bought a cup of iced coffee to calm himself down.

 Xu was feeling confident about Qin Guan's audition, as he had seen four girls on the street look surprised by Qin Guan's appearance. Everyone knew that New Yorkers didn’t care about strangers. As a result, Xu was very confident about Qin Guan’s interview.
 Times Square, where the top 10 brands from all over the world gathered, was Qin Guan’s first destination. The studios and agencies were in the building behind the mansion.
 Qin Guan followed the crowd into the elevator, looking carefully at the map of the studios John had given him. He would make good use of his time.
 Armani was his first destination. Their traditional formal wear style fit Qin Guan’s personality.

 The Armani offices were simple and plain, like any other office in the universe. There was nothing on the white walls except the designer’s logo.
 The lobby was as quiet as a fantasy world.
 The girl in black at the reception looked busy. She was arranging files. After they were sorted, they would be sent to different departments.
 Suddenly, she turned around and saw the visitor. She knew what he wanted right away.

Since the script was set and the crew confirmed, all that was left was the actors.

"Sure!" Li Tai nodded, "I know a few celebrities. I'll contact them for you. We might as well start recruiting some supporting actors here too while we're at it."
All set. Li Tai then had his men spread the word on his hiring.

All they saw was a man dyed with brown hair wearing a white jacket coming down from the car. As he did, a group of people crowded around him trying to get on his good side.
It was already night time, yet someone sheltered him with an umbrella. There were even people opening a path for him, kicking pebbles out of the way.
"Straighten your umbrella quickly! Don't let the moonlight ruin Young Master Wu's complexion!"
"You there, make sure the road is clear. Don't let the pebbles trip Young Master Wu!"
"Young Master Wu, you must be careful. Last time you suffered a half-inch cut across your finger due to a movie shoot! That was too scary! Why did you accept a martial arts movie? This is too dangerous!"
Next to Wu Han, a short and fat guy was sucking up to him.

''Could Huo Yuanjia's coffin cover hold him in[1]?'

"What actors are in your movie? Don't bother with the small fries, only those A-list actors!" Before Wu Han could say anything, the fatty beside him demanded arrogantly.

This was the Williams' residence second-floor bedroom, the blazing summer sun rays were streaming unhindered through the south balcony's French doors. It was already August and you could feel Los Angeles' warmth way before noon.
 
It's been half a month since his rebirth, and Eric had been busy with all sorts of things. He hadn't even had the time to act as a tourist before jumping into the Hollywood circle.
 
He laid back down and looked around him.
 
The bedroom was large, more than thirty square meters. Even if you included his bed, wardrobe, desk and some random antiques, it still felt empty.
 
Ralph had wanted to divide it into two separate rooms but refrained since only their father and son duo lived there. Until death, he had never attempted to remarry either.
 
Eric wondered if all drinking addicts were the same, burdened by similar heart-rending pasts.
 
When he got down from the second floor, it took him half an hour to tidy up the mess in the living room from yesterday's party, and after taking his breakfast, he drove out.
 
He spent several hours visiting music shops and finally settled on a Strauss piano. He left behind his address to have it delivered and purchased a thick stack of books on music arrangements from the bookstore nearby.
 
It wasn't done on a whim or because Eric wanted to become a singer, it was to prepare for future movies' soundtracks. He had so many classic movies in mind, and if he wanted to replicate them to perfection, he couldn't neglect that point. He had to at least understand arrangements to some degree or he'd be a laughing stock among those music professionals.
 
Hollywood was different from China. In China, directors would often just find a musician, listen to his works, and if they liked something, they'd shake hands and be done with it.
 
But in Hollywood, original soundtracks were an integral part of movies. Not just the background music, but even the theme songs were enough to become classics. Like "Unchained Melody" from Ghost, "New Divide" from Transformers, "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, "Young and Beautiful" from The Great Gatsby, "Let it Go" from Frozen, as well as Juno's entire album.
 
He returned home with his new books. The delivery men soon arrived and the piano was set up in the study at the west side of the living room. Well, although it was called a study, there wasn't a single bookshelf there, just a large desk and other miscellaneous stuff. It used to be Ralph's, and he never had a reading habit, so all of Eric's books were in his room upstairs.
 
After the piano was in place, he had to tune it. As Eric sat on the bench and placed his fingers on the keys, the delivery men didn't try to hide the ridicule in their eyes. He ignored them and started playing "Happy Birthday". After playing for a while, he glanced at the amazed delivery men. Even in his past life, Eric's piano skills could be considered great.
 
As revenge for their contempt, he cut their tips in half. The several delivery men didn't notice that and the tall white one muttered to himself once they were in the car: "Strauss, ah, Strauss! That's worth at least 20,000 US dollars." His voice was heartbreakingly wistful. If Eric had heard it, he would've probably felt ashamed at his earlier gesture.

"Audition? What audition ?" Eric asked in puzzlement: "Penny, hasn't my role already been decided ?"
 
For a few days, Eric studied music every day and practiced basketball. Three days after he had gotten used to this routine, he received a phone call from Penny Marshall.
 
"Of course, Eric. What I meant was for you to be present during the auditions of other roles. After all, you're the writer, you could offer some advice, right ?"
 
Eric knew he would only be able to give his opinion and that the final decision wouldn't be his, but he still readily agreed to Penny's offer, this was a good way to earn some experience.
 
Driving to the Fox studios, he saw Penny and James. The casting was a really important part, so of course, the director and producer had to be present. There were also several other staff members, but Eric was the youngest.
 
It was still a good ten minutes before the beginning of the auditions, so Penny Marshall took the initiative to chat with Eric about some 17 Again matters.
 
"With BIG's success, the Twentieth Century Fox has high hopes for this movie, they've given us a budget of 20 million US dollars. They'd like to release it by Thanksgiving, so we have two weeks to make all our necessary preparations and finish the filming before the end of the school holidays."

Alex's original appearance was that of a weak and feeble guy, and Eric remembered thinking how it was hard to believe that someone like him could suddenly mysteriously shine on the court.
 
He reckoned that the only reason they chose a skinny boy instead of a tall and handsome male, was because they were worried that Zac Efron would be outshined with his 1m75 stature, as it was somewhat short for a caucasian male.
 
Brad Pitt was 25 years old right now but he could pass as a high-school student without a problem. Eric pictured his tall and strong stature getting bullied, then owning everyone on the basketball court; it was at least less far-fetched than the original. Besides, Eric was convinced that his performance would not be outshined by Brad Pitt.
 
When the latter would become famous, people would still talk about how he played Eric Williams' son, how awesome was that?
 
While his lips curled into a smile, he studied the remaining list and tried to spot celebrities from his previous life.
 
He looked at the list which contained more than a dozen actresses' personal information and stopped at the first name on the list, and his chin almost fell off. Angelina Jolie! Ah, it looked like the whole family was in attendance today!
 
He remembered that Jolie should have just graduated from a performing arts school and that she would start her modeling career next year, he had no idea what she was doing on Maggie's auditions' list.
 
Caucasian women mature very early, and Jolie's profile picture was that of a thirteen-year-old slim blonde-haired girl with iconic lips, who exuded a type of wild aura. Eric wasn't looking forward to her performance as she was seriously too young, she probably only got to audition thanks to her father, Jon Voight.
 
While he kept searching, Eric found a very interesting girl.
 
"Hey, Penny," Eric turned around and asked: "What's up with Drew Barrymore? You know, after how she's been behaving for the past couple of years… I don't think she's suitable for a campus comedy ?"

Ray wondered if he is being trolled by Marvel Studios, could Marvel have made the plot different so Doctor Strange did not end up being a thief that stole the eye of Agamotto ? And now that Ray is in the real Marvel Universe, the plot of the movie did not follow the real Marvel world. Ray just mumbled "Marvel you are a fucking troll.", every time he thought of this. To Ray, Marvel was a bastard and a troll.

In that one year, Ray had spent time ingratiating himself towards the Ancient One and Mordo. Ray had also heard the name of Kaecilius, one of students here in Kamar Taj. Ray had not met Kaecilius yet. But knowing that the villain of the Doctor Strange movie was here with him did not make him feel better. Ray decided to meet with the Ancient One and Baron Karl Mordo to plan his scheme to get access to the eye of Agamotto or better known as the time stone.

"I have a plan father to add a layer of protection to the Earth against foreign invaders by using the eye of Agamotto and a spell I just created.", Ray said in his girlish voice as he smiled sweetly.

"Let's have a look at that spell.", the Ancient One spoke out first as both the Ancient One and Baron Karl Mordo extended out their hands.

"Here...", Ray said in his girlish voice as he handed out two stacks of paper to the Ancient One and Baron Karl Mordo.

Both the Ancient One and Baron Karl Mordo looked at it and scanned through every detail of the spell.

"It's too risky Ray. I don't agree to this plan. I forbid it.", Baron Karl Mordo said grimly.

"But...", Ray cried out in his girlish voice.

"No. I don't approve of this spell, it adds just another layer of protection. But the risk is we don't know what effect it would have on the eye of Agamotto. The treasure bestowed upon us by the first sorcerer supreme of Earth.", Baron Karl Mordo said as he left the papers he was holding behind and left the room.

Ray looked depressed but he had hope as he saw that the Ancient One has not said anything yet and was still in the room.

"Mother...", Ray said in a girlish voice.

"Ray my son, I think I could allow you to try this spell but no one must ever know about this. I could arrange a gap in the protection time of the eye of Agamotto  so you could approach the eye of Agamotto and perform your spell.", the Ancient One said with a smile.

The reason the Ancient One had agreed for Ray to try his spell is because a few decades ago before Ray was even born, all the infinity stones in the universe including the time stone suddenly weakened slightly. It was followed by the disappearance of the Dark Dimension and Dormammu. This has caused the Ancient One to be unable to absorb the energy of the Dark Dimension and has rapidly shortened her lifespan. Now that she was dying and would soon no longer to be here to protect the Earth, she thought that an extra layer of protection to the Earth would not be a bad idea. Since there was something dangerous out there that had caused the disappearance of Dormammu and the Dark Dimension.

The Ancient One had talked to Ray for a while more and told him, she would tell him the time to approach the eye of Agamotto.

It was a few days later and the Ancient One had arranged a gap in the security for the eye of Agamotto. Ray had been informed before hand and was ecstatic that he would be able to get access to the eye of Agamotto or the time stone soon.

Ray soon approached the eye of Agamotto alone, he didn't even set up the candles for the magic spell. All Ray wanted to do was grasp the eye of Agamotto and find a way to absorb its powers and get stronger. Touching the eye of Agamotto, Ray's hand shuddered in excitement, he could see the energy flow of the time stone as the eye of Agamotto opened to reveal the time stone. Suddenly a ray of light rushed out of the time stone in the eye of Agamotto and hit Ray causing him to lose his consciousness. Ray slumped down on the floor and a wave of energy worked its way around his body making changes. Ray's appearance seems to become younger and more feminine.

An hour later.

"Ray ! Ray ! What happened to you ?", the Ancient One said as she grasped Ray's shoulder carefully and lifted him up.

"Huh ! Where am I ? Oh ! Yes, something happened.", Ray said in a girlish and disoriented voice.

"Yes, I can see that the candles are set up and the spell lines are drawn on the floor. What happened ? Did the spell fail ?", the Ancient One asked curiously.

"Huh ?! The candles are set up and the spell line has been drawn ?!", Ray said in shock as he knew he did not set up the candle or draw the spell line since the spell he proposed did not work in the first place.

"I don't know Master !", Ray said in a loud girlish voice. Ray was surrounded by Baron Karl Mordo and many magicians and master magicians from Kamar Taj. Baron Karl Mordo look disappointed at Ray.

"Something has happened to you Ray, let me check you first.", the Ancient One said seriously.

Today was finally the day ! He had been in Paris for a week already and they were shooting the first episode of the TV show, the show was cut into a total of 10 to 12 episodes with the first 6 episodes being auditions, later came the semi final and all but he didn't care about that yet, he had to impress the judges today to make it to the next round.

It was already mid May and the weather had became hot, Sam dressed very lightly with a black t shirt and the same pair of ripped jeans he liked that much, he didn't put on his big boots and chose the lighter Nike's instead.

He parked the bike a kilometer away and started walking in the direction of the recording studios, he had seen it lots of times on TV already as this was the 12th or 13th season already, every year it would be on National television channel and almost every household in France watched it, if he wasn't mistaken it must  be one of the highest watched programs in French television.

After walking for 20 minutes he had to stay in a queue for another hour and finally he was brought inside, there were way too much participants. He was happy he had brought his earphones so that he could listen to the song he'd be singing today, singing in front of thousands of people wasn't the same as doing it on YouTube so he was starting to feel pressure, it has been a long time he didn't feel this kind of pressure as his life was being still but now he was advancing again and the fear of the unknown was something that thrilled him.

Sitting on a couch with hundreds of people around him he was listening to his music until finally the TV's around the hall all turned on and the first guy to pass in front of the judges was diffused to them, everything was happening live.

The guy took out a torch and drank something from a bottle, he spat on the torch and fire started flying high in the sky. In the end he got three yes and one no from the judges, the argument was that his show could only be done once. It was impossible to innovate with that talent, well that judge wasn't mistaken.

Sam our his earphones on again and started listening with his eyes closed, he wanted to watch the rest of the contestants but his heart was beating too fast when he wasn't training, he felt like every second of training was making his pressure decrease.

Time went by and contestants went on stage one after the other, they came in all ages, sexes, races; some had talents some came to spice up their lives, the most impressive today was a group of kid dancers, they had really made an impact on the judges but that was all, the rest of the contestants weren't anything impressing.

Finally after 3 hours of waiting and enduring the pressure someone came to call Sam.

"Hummm... mister Petit, it's your turn."

After all that his heart was beating even faster, while walking he remembered the system, why was he feeling the pressure when most of these people weren't ? He had the system, he didn't have to feel any pressure as the system could make him the best, slowly his heart beat slowed down and went back to an almost normal rhythm, it still beat a bit faster than normal but he couldn't do anything about it. 

He walked on stage under deafening applauses and stopped in front of a microphone in the middle of the stage, there were at least a thousand people in the public, some were clapping, other were whistling. Finally one of the judges spoke, he was a middle aged man dressed in a suit, when he spoke the room went back to silence. Sam wasn't very interested in the celebrities world so he didn't recognize him, beside him were 3 other judges : 1 man and 2 women.

"Hi, what's your name ?"

"Hello, my name is Sam Petit."

"Nice to meet you Sam, what is your talent ?"

"I have a few but I came here today to sing and rap."

"Hahaha are you confident in your skills ?"

"I am, I wouldn't have came here if I wasn't."

"Fine, why do you surprise us ?"

Sam looked at the MC on the side of the stage and nodded to him, the MC also nodded to someone and the beat came out, it was a slow piano rhythm that most people there recognized instantly, the song was released in 2002 by Eminem and it was called "lose yourself", it was also the soundtrack from the movie 8miles where Eminem was the lead actor. After changing the lyrics to his liking he felt like this was the best song to start with.

When the slow piano stopped and the guitar started ringing he spoke the intro :

By the time he was done most of the people that knew Eminem had their hairs standing, this guy in front of them could transmit such strong emotions through his voice, he was way to similar to the original on that.
The song kept going for a minute without a sound, in the waiting room everybody was just as surprised. After spending a long time there most of the people had looked at who was waiting with them and they had seen this guy with earphones in the ears and eyes closed, he didn't look at the TV and was just sleeping.

Now this sleepy dude was actually a genius rapper ? Back on stage Sam was done with his performance, he put so much of his soul into it that he was all sweaty by now. 

"Wow, I wasn't expecting this."

Said one of the female judges.

"I didn't understand most of it as I'm not proficient in English but I still had goosebumps..."

Said the other male judge that didn't speak until now.

"Let's not lose time as it's already late, I vote yes ! What about you guys ?"

Sam and his little sister live alone but his life is already hard enough trying to end his studies and give her the best life possible while facing bullies and financial issues. This is when he acquires the choice system which from time to time give him the choice between two skills or attributes.
