Dila jengah dan segera membereskan barang-barangnya. Satu jam kemudian Dila dan Bara turun ke bawah disambut tangis Lusi, Iqbal dan Naura.
"Bunda mohon kalian jangan pergi dari rumah ini," rengek Lusi pilu.
"Maaf bunda, kami harus pergi. Suatu saat kami akan kembali lagi," kata Dila tegar.
"Bara jangan bawa anak bunda satu-satunya. Jangan rebut Dila dari bunda," pinta Lusi memohon.
"Aku tidak pernah merebut Dila. Dia istriku bunda, jadi aku lebih berhak atas Dila. Kami sudah diusir dari rumah ini. Kami ingin mandiri. Bunda boleh datang ke rumah kami bahkan tidur di rumah. Aku tidak akan menghalangi kalian," kata Bara memberi pengertian.
"Bunda sudah bunda," kata Naura menenangkan Lusi.
"Bagaimana bunda bisa tenang jika mereka meninggalkan rumah ini. Bunda tidak rela."
"Semua akan baik-baik saja bunda," balas Dila.
"Kalian jangan masukkan perkataan ayah dalam hati. Beliau hanya emosi sesaat," ujar Lusi lagi.
"Bunda kami berangkat," kata Dila mendorong koper. Mereka keluar rumah membawa tiga koper besar. Satu koper di dorong Dila dan dua koper lagi di dorong oleh Bara. 
Lusi menangis terisak-isak melihat kepergian anak dan menantunya. Rumah besar ini akan terasa sepi tak ada Dila atau Bara. Lusi sangat tersentuh dan terhibur melihat kedekatan Aina dan Bara. Sayangnya ia tak akan melihat kedekatan itu lagi. Bara dan Dila sudah pindah.
Iqbal membantu Lusi untuk duduk. Napasnya sesak melepas kepergian Dila dan Bara. Sementara itu Naura mengikuti Bara dan Dila ke mobil. Setelah melihat keadaan sekitar dan memastikan tak ada ART dan pengasuh lalu lalang, Naura menendang kaki Bara.
"Naura apa yang kau lakukan?" Bara mengaduh kesakitan. Bisa-bisanya Naura menendangnya ketika ia sedang mengangkat koper dalam bagasi.
"Aku menendangmu. Gara-gara kamu, Dila harus angkat kaki dari rumah ini. Sikap sok membela kamu telah menendang Dila dari rumah ini. Kamu memperburuk keadaan."
"Apa salah aku membela istriku? Apa aku harus membiarkan ayah menamparnya? Lalu apa fungsiku sebagai suami?"
"Tapi tak seharusnya kau bilang akan tinggal di rumahmu. Ayah hanya emosi sesaat."
"Suka-suka aku. Dila istriku."
"Dunia juga tahu jika Dila istrimu, tapi kau bukan suami yang sesungguhnya."
"Kau pikir aku tidak tahu kau siapa?" Geram Naura menatap Bara sinis.
"Apa maksudmu?"
"Uni," tegur Dila agar Naura tak banyak bicara.
"Biarkan uni bicara Dila. Tak akan aku biarkan dia menyakiti kamu lagi. Dengarkan aku Bara jika kamu berani menyakiti Dila lagi, aku tak segan menghabisi kamu dan membongkar identitas kamu yang sebenarnya."
"Apa maksud kamu?"
"Kau  GAY," kata Naura tegas.
Bara kaget dan wajahnya pias. Ia tak dapat menyembunyikan keterkejutannya. Satu persatu orang mengetahui identitasnya.
"Kalian?" Bara melirik Dila dan Naura bergantian.
"Kami berdua sudah tahu siapa kau Bara," ujar Dila melankolis. 
"Medical Check Up kemaren untuk memastikan kesehatanmu, aku tidak ingin tertular penyakit kelamin darimu. Kau bersih dan sehat. Cuma aku juga harus tetap waspada. Hubunganmu dengan Egi sudah terlalu jauh. Kau dan Egi pasti pernah berhubungan intim. Aku dan uni Naura yang merencanakan semua."
Bara tergelak tawa. Seorang Aldebaran bisa juga tertipu. Tak menyangka dua orang wanita di depannya telah melakukan gencatan senjata.
"Ternyata aku di kelilingi dua ekor ular betina," sarkas Bara menatap Dila dan Naura dengan aura membunuh.
"Kau pikir aku takut dengan tatapanmu?" Kata Naura lagi.
"Jangan pernah mengancam aku Naura. Kau tidak tahu siapa aku?" balas Bara sengit.
"Sedikit saja kamu berani menyakiti aku, jangan harap aku akan diam. Apa aku harus menggunakan mamamu sebagai tameng? Apa perlu tante Ranti tahu siapa putranya? Apa kata beliau tahu putra satu-satunya sang pewaris tahta menyimpang dari kodrat?"
"Naura jaga batasanmu," kata Bara tegas dengan suara berat.
"Aku peringatkan kamu jangan pernah menyakiti Dila."
"Jangaan ikut campur. Kau sendiri marah urusan rumah tanggamu diusik. Jaga batasanmu. Aku dan Dila, kau tak bisa ikut campur."
"Uni sudah," kata Dila melerai pertengkaran Naura dan Bara. Dila paham kenapa Naura bersikap seperti itu padanya karena ingin melindunginya.
"Dila masuk!" titah Bara memerintahkan Dila masuk mobil. Dila menuruti perkataan sang suami.
"Uni pamit. Nanti kita bicara lagi."
Bara pergi menatap Naura dengan aura permusuhan. Lawannya kali ini tidak mudah, kakak iparnya sendiri. 
"Sejak kapan Naura tahu jika aku gay?" Bara memulai pembicaraan di dalam mobil.
"Sejak aku kembali ke Jakarta."
"Kau menceritakan semuanya pada Naura?"
"Uni orang terdekat dalam hidupku. Dia tak sekedar kakak ipar bagiku. Dia melebihi saudara kandung. Jika kau ingin sembuh dan kembali ke kodrat. Uni bisa membantumu. Uni dokter VCT sekaligus konselor. Kamu bisa konseling dengannya."
"Apa hakmu memerintahkan aku konseling dengan Naura?" Bara berang, ia membawa mobil dengan kecepatan tinggi.
"Bara pelan-pelan bawa mobil!" kata Dila tersulut emosi.
"Biar kita mati sekalian?"
"Kau pikir ketika mati semua sudah selesai? Semuanya akan dimulai ketika kematian datang Bara. Seberapa banyak amalmu sehingga kamu mau mati sekarang? Sudahkah kamu bertobat? Kamu sudah melanggar perintah Tuhan Bara. Kau menyimpang! Kau bagian dari kaum  sodom yang  telah di azab Tuhan. Alquran sudah menegaskan LGBT perbuatan dilaknat Tuhan dan hukuman untuk kaum LGBT dilempar dari ketinggian hingga mati. Masih mau mati sebelum bertaubat?" 
Bara menghentikan mobilnya. Ucapan Dila bak voltase listrik tegangan tinggi. Hati Bara tersentrum mendengar perkataan Dila.
Bara menatap Dila lekat-lekat. Dila berhasil menyetil hatinya dan meremas jantungnya. Bara berpikir, apakah Dila yang akan membantunya kembali ke kodrat?
Bara mencium bibir Dila dengan rakus. Dila tak sempat menghindar. Bara mencium dan menggigit bibirnya. Bara melepaskan emosinya dengan mencium Dila dalam-dalam. Ia tak melepaskan bibir manis yang telah menjadi candu baginya. Dalam hati Bara bertanya-tanya. Ada apa dengannya?

Season 2
Kepergian Dila menorehkan luka dalam di hati Bara. Waktu pun bergulir hingga tiga tahun telah terlewati. Bara dan Dila tak sengaja bertemu di suatu negara dalam suasana dan kondisi yang berbeda. Dila heran karena Bara tak mengenalinya lagi, malah terkesan judes dan cuek padanya. Apakah yang terjadi pada Bara hingga tak mengenali Dila sama sekali?

Season 1

Dila (30 tahun ) seorang pegawai bank yang sukses dalam karier tapi belum menikah karena menunggu laki-laki pujaannya yang bersekolah di Mesir. Desakan menikah dari keluarga membuat Dila menerima perjodohan yang di atur kedua orang tuanya.

Bara seorang pengusaha sukses belum juga menikah di usianya yang ke 35 tahun. Orang tuanya memaksanya menikah dengan Dila.

Bagaimanakah pernikahan mereka ketika Dila mengetahui Bara seorang gay. Apakah Dila akan mundur atau berusaha membantu Bara kembali ke kodratnya? 

Apakah pasangan gay Bara akan membiarkannya bahagia dengan pernikahannya?

TLDR: 2nd half of Year 2 + summer arc up, expect 1st half of Year 3 by end of April/May. Sorry for the delay. 
My computer broke around early January and I had to buy a new one. (It's still not here, actually; I just have temporary access to a laptop.) Thankfully, all my writing is done on my phone. (Seriously, I've got 100wpm on these thumbs.)
Anyway, I finished Year 2 and the new arc 12.5: HAIR VS HAIR. Excellent arc. Overall, terrific year; I think there are still some issues such as un-rewritten moments and me easing in to my newish prose style, but overall quite good. 
[BEST FRIENDS]
My old computer had my analysis of this arc, unfortunately, but the quick: The biggest change is Mia's grief is much shortened: she has a bad day for a bit and is still distraught, but nowhere near what it was before where she PTSDs out for days. Jeanne & Nuiko are Mia's colleagues/distant friends, so it's realistic enough there. There's a very funny argument in the chapter where Jeanne & Nuiko die, I think -- it's a bit before that. That's about all.
[SEASONS DON'T FEAR THE REAPER]
I said there would be more Rochelle & Tiffany, and indeed there is: but their characters have been somewhat changed.
Rochelle has a terrific introduction that goes over her mentorship of Tiffany, her friendship with Mia, the minor celebrity she has accrued (undesirably) around herself, and we finally get the scene where she was shot by a cop. Her race is not yet mentioned here, but she is righteously pissed, looks behind her to see the cop - and also a magazine with a cover she recognizes.
Her *white* mentor (which reveals her race) comes out and yells at the guy, forcing Rochelle to calm him down & apologize to the cop. It'd be an excellent scene in an anime, for we learn later that Rochelle was on the cover of said magazine, and why she hides her anger upon seeing it -- and she is Urasaria's highest-ranked **Black** student.
As for why she suddenly calms? The same reason as she gave in Arc 24 - because just as she is, fortunately, the Black representative of Urasaria, she also knows she is, unfortunately, the Black representative of Urasaria. Through her friendship with Mia and conversations with Tiffany (who is vapid, shallow), she's shown as someone of depth who both recognizes the importance of her celebrity, socially, yet despises it -- not only for the good ending in which she is recognized in public, but in that she knows it is essentially all shallow bullshit, and questions if it is truly progressive for black people to have gotten in to the system when their own media ecosystems are still the vapid makeup influencers, the food gurus, and the scam artists who litter the magazines of whites.
Obviously, I would agree with the same points re: the LGBT+ community myself, and of course would immediately reverse all opinions the minute I achieved a modicum of success for my work.
Furthermore, her relationship with Tiffany is now grim, even as it is initially described happily & deliberately cliched. There's no exploring of the ethical qualms of their mentor/protege relationship (like a lesser writer might, because all that can be said is: yes, the principle is unethical even if the specific relationship is not), but Rochelle has issues with sexual addiction and sees Tiffany primarily as a prime cut of ass & tits. 
Whether Rochelle even realizes this is uncertain, but there is a scene -- perhaps too obvious -- where Rochelle makes the points about celebrity from earlier to Tiffany, who is completely clueless to the depth of Rochelle's queries and gives a vapid response: to which Rochelle grimaces. 
Rochelle now, as best as I can do it in prose (since it works far better in film), is a sex addict, as mentioned earlier. The reason this was difficult to do in prose is because 1) it feels awkward describing sex, and 2) there's a visceralness to it that images convey better, and given how ridiculously horny online LGBT+ Zoomers are, images also ensure they get it whereas text -- anyway. Regardless, I did this through Rochelle smacking Tiffany's ass, groping her breasts, teasing her, and having sex with her in front of the Contagion'd guy they're escorting.
Don't worry, it says Contagion's victims essentially are unconscious when controlled, so it is just very bizarre rather than entirely unethical; after all, they had to Contagion him anyway. It should at least trigger the type of "this is weird" reaction to make an impression even to readers who have grown up on vore & tentacles.
This characterization I primarily owe to the great film Shame by Steve McQueen, a character study of a businessman who suffers from sexual addiction: except, just as his other great film 12 Years A Slave was not only about slavery but about power & how humans wield it, Shame is not only about sexual addiction but loneliness, of which sexual addiction is a symptom & not a cause. 
And Rochelle is lonely, make no doubt about that. Intellectual loneliness is really rough.
Overall, along with the conversations between Mia & Serena, a truly excellent arc. Lastly, I will also say, on the lesbian side of things, to any future fanfic writers -- out of the non-canon ships, I could see Rochelle/Mia very easily had Aimee never approached her. Rochelle is stated as having had a crush on Mia (as we all should...).
[30 DAYS A REVENANT]
Not much changed here. Matoi's speech is purposefully cliched & anodyne to lead to a great scene in Y3's introduction, and the ending is better/funnier. Revenant kill numbers were also tripled to make everybody look better.
[HAIR VS HAIR]
Firstly, note the name, I haven't done arc names in a while, hopefully I still possess that skill. Then again, anything's better than "EVERYBODY'S A CRITIC", an arc title so bland it's the one arc it takes me a second to recall any of it. Perhaps that's due for a change...
So, reasoning. HAIR VS HAIR is a hair reference because it's Kate-arc, the final villain has some hair of interest. Hair vs Hair is also a type of pro wrestling match where the loser shaves their hair, and the aggressive title fits the more Spillane-esque pace of the arc, which sees some good host on civilian violence. These matches are also done historically to humiliate an opponent, and act as a form of both mental & physical sadism. The final villain loses their hair after being caught by Kate, fulfilling both counts, and lastly, the title also ties in to the struggles she has against civilian police in-arc.
I realize I indulge cop hate very often, but it really is so ripe. The new opening scene of ARC 14: I REALLY THINK SO has a nice quote about how artists are always attracted to that which elicits the best art, which does naturally bias, because pathologies/hatreds/complex characters/morally-grey ones are more interesting. I suppose, at least, every character who hates cops has their own original reason for it. (Besides, it's the default position of the online, young LGBT+ community, so it's real in that regard.)
Regardless, onward I go to rewrite Year 3. The summer arc is already done, although it needs a slight rewrite, and there's so, so much to rewrite. ALL DRESSED UP was similarly already rewritten yet not posted, as has been SWIM LIKE AN EEL & I REALLY THINK SO; the former is still the worst arc, but a pretty good one now. The latter is the best arc thus far.
But, there's also FILL IN THE BLANK, HERE'S THE WEATHER, KAMON, and... God, so much.
But, sorry for the delay, and I shall (hopefully) see you again by the end of April/May for the 1st half of Y3.

"SHOULD I READ THIS?": 

This is a character-based story with a cast of primarily LGBT+ women. Expect a heavy focus on character development, how they & their relationships grow and change, with a secondary focus on entertaining superpowered fights and plots. I would compare it to the Sam Raimi trilogy of Spiderman films, with a little more philosophical drama.

For a more direct example, some arcs are road-trip arcs, where the primary plot is merely "go from one place to another, kill anyone who attacks you on the way": but what's important is what you learn about the characters on the trip, and their dialogue.

Each year is 120,000ish words / 400 pages.

SYNOPSIS:

During the Cold War, superpowers in the form of bacterial colonies growing on one's heart begin appearing around the world. A new class of law-enforcing "hosts" is established over the next decades, given legal immunity to deal with violent criminals however they choose.

In modern day, Mia Schultz is a young socially awkward lesbian. She's attacked by an unknown man and given the power to control a swarm of fire scarabs named Worldwide, and as she's forced to begin her new job at Urasaria Academy, she's pulled in to a mystery on Worldwide's true origins.

Have you ever needed a calm before the storm? Well, because June is already here once again and my 50th spotlight so close I can taste it I thought it would be a time to celebrate some LGBTQ comics that have been deserving of a spotlight for quite a while. To serve this purpose, I would very much like to introduce Small World by Wonsun Jin!


    Summary


Follow the daily adventures of Robin and Julien as they navigate their lives through their small world.


Characters


Robin: Sassy, lazy, and all kinds of selfish Robin is often the drama starter of the duo. Despite all this, though, Robin does have great love and respect for those close to him. And he loves Julien.


Julien: The calming wind to Robin's raging fire Julien is the far more sociable and friendly of the two. Despite this, he can be a bit of a dope. He does make up for it with his self-improving attitude and love for Robyn. Also, he is either the worst cook in the world or the best one for being able to bring his food to life.


    Overview


Small world is the living definition of a simple story, and there isn't anything wrong with that. In this complicated world of ours, I think that having a small comedic story is a breath of fresh air. The art style is very soft and has little background instead of relying on the jokes and characters to carry through. This doesn't this make Wonsun a bad artist though since he is talented, look him up on his youtube channel and Instagram. If my giant nerd boyfriend is a more realistic heartwarming story, then Small world thrives in its absurdity. The fourth wall breaks are frequent; the cartoonish nature is brought up very often, which leads to some pretty awesome wth jokes. Another great strength is that Small World has a small cast of characters that can lead to further fun interactions as time goes on as they do have a presence with the screen time they do have.


Epilogue


Small world has been a webtoon mainstay for years, and I think it's a great starting webtoon for both LGBT month and just new readers in general. So let's see where this rainbow-colored spotlight leads us next?

Just a simple person is trying to shine a little light on the beautiful world of webtoon. With a splash of sarcasm, narration, and spitfire along the way.  And who knows I might have other segments just for the hell of it.
