Heero departed to Morabaka City in high spirits and expectation. As Saint's disciple, he was confident in his strength. Even though he never experienced the outside words, his seven fairy mothers always told him everything about the outside world. Moreover, in his Master's library, there was a history of humanity and important event was also recorded in a book.

He wanted to be a Legendary Hero. To be a Legendary Hero, he needed to defeat God. Whether it was God Beast or God Specter, he needed to defeat one of them to be a Legendary Hero.

However, for now, Heero realized that to defeat a god with his current was unrealistic. For now, he planned to raise his rank slowly.

For now, his rank was an apprentice hero, the lowest one. Above Apprentice Hero was Intermediate Hero and Advance Hero. People usually called Intermediate Hero as lower-level Beginner Hero and upper-level Beginner Hero when one reached Advance Hero.

Above Beginner Hero, it was Master and Grand Master. Above Master and Grandmaster was King, King of Heroes. This rank was only for Hero who had defeated King or Emperor Specter/Beast.

However, Heero did not want to be just King, he wanted to be a Legend. He wanted to be what his Grandfather yearned for.

"I will be a Legend!" Heero clenched his palm into a fist and aimed to the sky.

"But before that, I will have to reach Morabaka City first!" Heero put his hand down and went to sleep.

Currently, he was staying in the wilderness. His Master said it would take a month trip to reach Morabaka from Nebraska. Heero was still halfway to reach Morabaka.

The next morning, Heero continued his journey to Morabaka. His journey to Morabaka was smooth, he encountered no Specter and Beast at all.

Fifteen days passed by and finally, Heero got to see Morabaka's metal wall. As one of the five biggest cities, Morabaka had another name, Unbreachable Fortress.

The black metal wall left Heero in amazement. When one just looked at the metal wall, it would leave an oppressive feeling. Heero rushed to the gate.

He wanted to enter the city directly, he was eager to see what Morabaka City looked like. However, before he could enter, there were two guards blocked him with their spears.

"Kid, you have to pay if you want to enter the city!" A guard full of beard said to Randy.

Heero realized his mistake. If one wanted to enter the city, they had to pay and it applied to the normal citizen, merchants, etc. However, if it was Hero, they did not need to pay as long as you showed Hero Identity Card.

Heero did not wear plate armor or leather armor like a normal hero would wear, but casual clothes. So the guards mistook him as a normal citizen.

"Oh, I am sorry Uncle. I am a Hero!" Heero apologized and showed his identity card as a Hero proudly.

The guard surprised when they saw the identity card. They thought Heero was just a normal netizen who just back from the other city.

The guard did not directly let Heero in. A guard with full of beard took the identity cars. He wanted to check it. When he saw who approved and made the identity card, the bearded-guard surprised.

Archief Priest Salomon Arkshain, one of twelve Archief Priests. The guard immediately gave the id card back to Heero. With a smile, the bearded guard let Heero in.

"Good Luck, Boy!"

Getting one card approved by Archief Priest meant Heero was a real deal.

Heero took back the id card and thanked the guard, "Thank you, Uncle!"

When he was inside the city, Heero was not surprised anymore. It because Morabaka City was completely ordinary compared to Nebraska City.

"Hmm, let's just head to Hero Guild!" Heero did not have the interest to walk around of Morabaka City.

If Nebraska Temple was a place where he could become a Hero, then Hero Guild was a place where Hero working. Hero Guild would provide the mission and Hero Guild was also the one who determined the hero rank.

Even though Morabaka City was a foreign place for Heero, but he did not have a problem to find where Hero Guild was. He only needed to ask a passerby. When it came about Hero, even you were stranger, they would gladly help.

Hero Guild was located at the north of Morabaka City. The biggest building in the north was Hero Guild. It was easy to find.

Heero entered Hero Guild and went directly to the counter.

"Hello, my name is Heero. I am here reporting that I will work here from now on!"

Heero gulped a glass beer in one gulp and released out a sigh. It's been a year since he arrived at Morabaka City to start his career as Heero.

He started his career pretty good and caused controversy as he advanced to Beginner-Intermediate Hero just in one month. It was not that the fastest, but it was exceptional.

However, even though Heero advanced to Beginner-Intermediate Hero in one month, he was still stuck in Beginner-Advance Hero after a year. He took a month to advance to Intermediate Hero, but it took him 11 months to raise his rank to Advance Hero.

Of course, the problem was not with him, but the mission. One could advance to Intermediate Hero by completing 3 lower-level Beginner Missions or killing a thousand undead.

Undead was rank 1 specter, people usually called rank 1 specter undead because they did not have intelligence. Specter was an undead who gained intelligence.

Heero advanced to Intermediate Hero by killing a thousand undead. It was an easy feat. However, in order to raise his rank to Advance Hero, Heero needed to kill a hundred thousand undead or complete 20 Beginner Missions.

The problem was, Hero Guild hardly came up with a mission. Most missions were for a high-rank Hero and Heero could not take that mission because of his low-rank Hero. Even Hero Guild issued a Beginner Mission, there would be many Beginner Heroes would fight over it, first come first serve. It was the rule.

Wiping out undead was the easy choice. However, the problem was hard to find a hundred thousand undead. Heero managed to kill seventy thousand undead and finish 6 Beginner Missions in 11 months to raise his rank to Advance Hero.

Now, to raise his rank to Master Rank Hero, he had to kill ten million undead or a million rank 2 Specter (low-level Specter Knight) or a hundred thousand rank 3 specter (Intermediate-level Specter Knight).

The problem was they could only find rank 2 Specter or rank 3 Specter when war broke. Heero now stuck at Advance Rank Hero, he had a headache to raise his rank.

"Oya boy, do you have a problem? If you want to solve your virginity problem, then I will gladly help you!" A woman behind the counter approached Heero.

This woman was the owner of this bar. Heero was regular in this bar and he was familiar with the Boss, Marie Arossia. She was a hot woman, mature face, hot body, and her long legs had charmed many youths. There was another name for the Boss, Virgin Killer.

"Ouch! Ouch! Pain pain pain!" Heero complained as he tried to release the hand from his ear.

Marie released her hand and asked seriously, "Let me ask you, why do you want to raise your rank quickly? What's your purpose?"

"Heh, I want to be a Legendary Hero as soon as possible. I want everyone knows my name, I want to be Legend just like Hero Mikail and it will be like this: Xing Heero, the Legendary Hero from Xing Village!" Heero declared proudly.

"Then, how soon? How soon do you want to be a Legend?" Marie asked again.

"Fi…" Heero stopped. He wanted to reply in five years, he would be a legend in five years, but he knew he would get another scold if answered like that.

"Ten years, maybe?" Heero answered in a small voice.

Marie instantly flicked Randy forehead as soon as she heard the answer. And surprisingly, it was more painful than his ear being pulled.

"Ten years and you want to be a legend like Hero Mikail!?" Marie seemed to be agitated, but Heero still nodded his head.

Heero received another flick from Marie. However, instead of scolding Heero, Marie was taking a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

After a while, Marie calmed down and looked at Heero seriously.

"Let me ask you, how long it is before Hero Mikail could become a legend?"

"302 years!" Heero answered instantly and firmly. The history of Legend, Randy remembered it completely.

"Then what about Hero Garam?"

"341 years!" Heero answered in confusion. He did not get why did Marie ask him about this.

"Hero Virgil?"

"278 years!" Here, Heero realized why did Marie ask this.

"Hero Guan?"

"190 years!" Here, Heero's voice getting smaller as he realized his mistake.

Marie kept asking another three legends and Heero answered it truthfully. However, his voice was getting smaller and smaller as he answered Marie's question.

"Do you understand, right?" Marie said it in an annoyed tone.

Randy nodded his head meekly. He did not dare to meet his eyes with Marie's.

Amongst the seven legends recorded in a book, Hero Guan was the fastest to be a Legendary Hero. He slew God Specter 190 years after his debut as hero.

Here, He was so cocky declaring he would be a Legend in ten years. Heero was so ashamed for his declaration.

"I am sorry!" Heero apologized for his cockiness.

Marie waved her hand, "It's good if you realize it. Also, It's good if you want to be a legend as soon as possible, but Hero mattered not only rank, you know? Hero Guild set the rank not merely for you to show off, but for your own good. With rank, you will know your limit. So you know which one you can fight and which one you can't! With rank, Hero Guild can reduce the Hero casualties, do you understand?"

It was rare for Marie to talk about this serious. She seemed to care a lot about Heero.

Heero nodded his head, "I know! Thank you, Lady Boss!"

"It's good you understand! By the way, why do you want to be a Legend as soon as possible? I am curious!" Marie was truly curious.

Heero told the truth, about his village got attacked by specter and his family which also died during that event. He told Marie why he wanted to be a Legend. Of course, he did not tell Marie about Saint and his hellish training.

"Hmm, " Marie held her chin as she nodded her head.

"In that case, I will help you…" Marie got closer to Heero and whispered something.

The more Heero heard it, his eyes became brighter and brighter.

Lucius paced back and forth in the 2nd hut he had in the woods to the west.

He was thinking.

Thinking about what to do with Sam's situation, and how to keep the townspeople from crying out to burn both of them at the stake for the crime of witchcraft. Despite the fields of curse magic, body alteration magic and life magic being established schools of practice, the general populace were still fearful and vindictive towards what they perceived as the perversion of nature and life.

Having nearly a hundred years of experience, being a devotee to the expansion of knowledge, and being the top borrower at all the libraries on the central and east continent [returning the books every few years or so], he had fancied himself as somewhat of a muse. But now he was stumped.

Spells or potions that sped up growth, or ones that expanded the body did exist. However, these functioned all at a permanent cost to the user's future potential and vitality. He cracked his head, but didn't know of any spell, condition or power that would grow a person's body like this; where the body's development and aging were not affected, and the individual's vitality was even more exuberant than before.

No matter how long he thought or from which angle he approached it from, all he drew were blanks. Even if Sam were not his own flesh and blood and a through and through human, there weren't even any races exhibiting these growth patterns.

Sighing, Lucius stopped his pacing and stepped outside for fresh air - and to watch Sam training.

The girl was moving according to the footwork he had just taught her, familiarizing herself with her "new" body. She was at one moment lunging forward in a low stance, and in the next moment soaring through the air in a twisting 1080° somersault, before performing a low spin with her arms and legs and whole body nearly perpendicular to the ground.

Lucius nodded in approval - the girl had always shown talent for physical aspects. It was just her mana affinity that left him helpless... He sighed again.

He could only help her to sharpen the weapons she already had, and ceaselessly search for a solution for her mana denying body.

Walking over to the clearing where the girl was still training, he called out to her, "Good movements! If I didn't know better, I'd think you've been training for years!" He smiled in approval; eliciting a happy smile from the girl, elated to receive his praises.

She came over to meet him halfway as he was walking, then asked, "That was fun! What's next, grandpa?"

Lucius couldn't help but to stop and admire the person who was the very image of her father - handsome, tall, dashing, gentle eyes, broad shoulders and a lean well-muscled body.

Problem was - Sam wasn't supposed to look like a teenage girl's heart-throb...

Sighing, he said, "Alright! Get cleaned up. I'll set out some new clothes for you now that you're bigger."

As the girl hopped and skipped away, Lucius sighed again - at least she hadn't developed her womanly characteristics yet - he could still make this work. For now.

Stella and Marie were best friends.

They had grown up as neighbours, and had played together for many years before entering the temple of Uro. Theirs was a life-long bond that had went through thick and thin - at least as far as challenges go for 14 year olds.

But today they were enemies.

"Do you really think Reeve would like someone so low-breed like a swine farmer's daughter? Pah! You must be dreaming! You swine farmers should stick together and give us your blessing!" Marie was fuming at Stella's bragging, as she stood by her workdesk where she was supposed to be doing the accounts for the temple.

"Hmmph!" Stella was irked despite holding the advantage in their competition for the boy. She shifted on the bench she was sitting on to face Marie. "You're just jealous that he asked *me* for help and not you! Why, he must have been waiting all this while for a chance to talk to me!" Stella put on a dreamy look, then shot a glance at Marie as if to say "so-there".

"Y-you? Waiting all this while to talk to you?" Marie sputtered in mock amazement, "Do you think any boy would like a rough and tough broad like you? Anyone who remembers just how manly your mother was would--"

"Marie!" Stella snapped, her eyes glistening. Marie knew she had touched on an area she shouldn't have.

"You... You..." tears were welling up in the girl's eyes as she scrunched up her face in hurt - the memories of her mother's death were still raw in the heart of the teenage girl.

Her mother, as one of the town guard captains, lost her life when Stella was only 11, during a beastman and barbarian raid. It was a young and courageous Reeve who protected her and her younger siblings when they thought they would be goners for sure.

Marie - as the antagonist in this spat - was filled with remorse - best friends shouldn't be arguing like this, should they...? Especially not until the shedding of tears and until their friendship was at risk of falling apart.

"Stella... I'm, I'm sorry... I was just jealous of how you're the only girl that training freak has spoken to in the past weeks. Apart from his little sister and that demon girl of course." Marie sat down beside Stella, drawing close to comfort her. "I know you've always liked him since their family moved here. And especially when he became your knight in shining armour."

Stella, wiping away her tears, turned to look at Marie. "Do you know how much I wish I were beautiful and graceful like you...?" She revealed her insecurities and deepest fears, "What you said... Isn't it true? How could someone so coarse and unrefined like me get Reeve? I'm just dreaming..."

By now Marie was sniffling too. "At least he talked to you... The last time he spoke to me was... Well, never." She smiled with a tinge of amusement and self-pity, "I'm sure we're not the only girls tearing their hair out wondering who Reeve will choose..."

Stella couldn't help but giggle when she thought of how the other girls must be agonising over the same thing. Then she smiled. "Thanks for being here, Marie."

Marie returned her smile. "Best friends?"

"Best friends."

Then they saw him.

If Reeve were the image of masculinity, intense as a raging fire and solid as the earth they stood on, "he" would be like the refreshing summer breeze that swept away one's fatigue, or the waters that calmed one's heart even of the deepest worries.

Simultaneously and in an instant, the girl's gazes locked onto him and they flashed a look at one another.

Then they began quarelling again, this time over who would get to serve the new prince charming.

"Welcome to the temple of Uro! Our goddess is magnanimous and kind, always ready to bestow her grace upon the ailing people! I'm Stella, apprentice priestess--"

"And I'm Marie, *ahem* her senior... apprentice priestess. How may our lady bless your life today...?"

Lucius was surprised. Normally the temple was so busy they would have to wait an hour, and even then they would only have 1 priest or priestess to serve them. He looked around and was confused as he saw many unattended penitents. Then he saw the two girls preening and trying to draw the clueless girl's [Sam's] attention. His face froze over.

The boy/ girl had already caused a commotion all the way from the shrine to the temple on the other side of town, with many murmurs of "Is he a prince...?" or, "Who's that man...? Is he a model...?" 

Sam was dressed in a simple but smart looking set of Lucius' old clothes - a dark grey shirt with matching pants, and black leather boots. As they were made of high grade mana-infused cloth and leather, it looked relatively new despite accompanying him for more than 20 years. 

She looked like a kind hearted, noble and athletic pretty boy...

Lucius nearly face-palmed himself - what trouble was Sam going to be causing with his... *Ahem*, her gender bending good looks...?

"This is my granddaught- I mean, grandson, Sam, Samuel. She... He's been traveling since he's young, and his parents just left him with me yesterday. He's just turned 15, but he, he hasn't had an affinity, talent or capability test before. Yes, that, that's how it is." Lucius struggled to get the words out, his face was pale as he intermittently coughed while telling his prepared story.

The two girls were swooning too much to notice the various inconsistencies and irregularities in his explanation, so they scrambled closer to "Samuel" to grab his arm and lead him to the testing area. They shot each other daggers with their stares, then settled for one arm each.

"So, Samuel. To help our test, could you tell us what your innate talent is...?" it was Marie's turn to speak; giving him her best smile with sparkling eyes.

Samuel replied without thinking, "Getting lucky." He didn't notice the two girls turning beet red as they blushed, misunderstanding that he would be so open and direct about his promiscuity... Though neiether of them would mind if it were them and he brought them away from this little town after that.

"W-w-what do you mean by luc--" Marie overcame her embarrassment to ask, only to be cut off by a harsh cough by Stella, who flashed her venomous looks as if to tell her to keep to her turn.

"Ahem, since it's my turn to speak," Stella began. "W-w-whaf do you mean by being lu-lu-lu-lucky...?" She was blushing furiously as she wondered if he meant *that* kind of lucky.

The two's legs grew weak and they had to lean heavily on Sam's arm to prevent themselves from fainting in shock when they heard his answer: "Oh, well, a Mr Handsome fell from a tree, so I took him home to my bed... I was very lucky that day, he's very good to me and even gave me..." Sam pointed to his metallic hair ornament, "...this as a gift before he left. He said he'll come back to play with me again."

"P-p-p-play?!?"

*thump*

The sounds of three bodies slumping to the floor could be heard.

Sam helped the two girls up, even as they were pallid and seemed to suddenly turn extremely awkward towards her.

Then the trio looked back to see Lucius dusting himself off, as if he had just gotten up but didn't want anyone to know.

"Ahem. Nothing happened. Carry on."

The trio shrugged and continued on, the girls shaken. Sam continued on, her 10 year old mind oblivious to the bombshell she had unknowingly dropped. The two girls looked listless and stumbled every now and then as they numbly walked to the testing area. They were completely silent and no longer held Sam's arms; unable to accept what they had just heard.

If they had looked back again, they would have seen an old man with a pale face, reeling from a blow heavier than that of any god he had faced.

How was he going to salvage this situation...?

His mind raced as he could already hear tomorrows news: Lucius' grandson sleeping around with every handsome man who drops by.

Systems? Transmigrators? Gods?
No problem! All will crumble under my fists!
Smashing dragons, devils and heros into meat patties!
Still, she has a dream - "When will I have a boyfriend...?"

Entering the class, a young boy was quickly surrounded by a small group of girls.

"Where were you yesterday?"
"Did something happen?"
"We heard you were sick!"

A barrage of questions followed him to which he simply replied with a smile saying, "I am alright now…" The crowd parted and a beautiful girl dressed in an elegant black dress walked forward. Her emerald eyes staring at the man in front of him. Nobody said anything anymore as the duo walked up to their seat.

It was only now that Wei Jin noticed someone new in the classroom.

("Shen Yue?")

"Hey, Jin, Have you heard… we have a new teacher today. I heard that the new teacher, Shen Xiu, is one of the Sacred Family's 3-star Silver rank Demon Spiritualists!"

"Is that so?"

Suddenly, the room quieted down and the door opened. It was rare to see a demon spiritualist come teach in a mere 'fighter' apprentice class.

The attention of the students was focused on the teacher. She had a tall figure, was wearing a lavender dress that wrapped tightly against her body, giving an emphasis on her perky chest. She had a pair of slender, white legs, and wore exquisite make-up that made her look beautiful and elegant. Her eyes were full of pride and arrogance. The Sacred Family is one of the three Major families of Glory City. Because she is of noble birth, and a 3-star Silver rank Demon Spiritualist, she naturally has the capital to be prideful.

As a 3-star Silver rank Demon Spiritualist, she wouldn't normally come here to teach. She only agreed to do so because her nephew is in this class.

"Demon Spiritualists and Fighters have five different ranks, which are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black Gold, and Legend rank. Each rank is then divided into five levels, from 1-star to 5-star.

"A Demon Spiritualist is above a Fighter. We are a truly noble existence. A Demon Spiritualist can form a soul realm within their dantian. They have the ability to integrate a captured demon into their soul realm and then merge with the demon in combat. This allows them to possess matchless strength, which is far above the strength Fighters could compete with." Shen Xiu raised her chin and spoke arrogantly, "Just like me, my demon is a Scarlet Flame Fox."

Suddenly, Shen Xiu's face and hands underwent drastic changes. Her facial shape became sharper, her teeth and nails also became sharper. Finally, a scarlet tail emerged from her back.

Shun began undressing his upper body then follows Cassandra toward the closet. He put his arms around her waist and kisses her right shoulder blade.

"Mister, what are you doing?" she asked him.

"Nothing. . . Seducing you, maybe?" Shun muttered behind her ear.

"I'm sorry for crying again ... I promise, this is the last time. Thank you for staying with me for the past few days. I'm indebted to you forever," Marie whispered.
When Nicolae heard how Marie repeatedly mentioned the word debt, he felt uncomfortable. Nicolae did not like that Marie kept thinking she was now indebted to him. For him, what he did was just common decency.
However, he held back and said nothing. At present, he thought words were not important and are of no use. He only wanted Marie to be able to vent all remaining sadness so that the girl was relieved.
It was night when they both returned to the land. For a moment, Marie and Nicolae stood awkwardly. They had accomplished their goals today. Mrs. Lu had been cremated, and her ashes had been scattered into the sea. Now, they no longer had anything to do with each other.
"What can I do for you now?" Nicolae asked softly, staring at Marie, who was sitting pensively on the passenger seat of his car.
His voice was soothing, and his eyes gave Marie comfort. For a moment, she was dazed when their eyes met.
"I need a drink. Today was especially really hard," Marie said quietly.
"Fine. We can stop by the Sky Bar if you want," Nicolae said.
"Yes, please." Marie nodded.
From the harbor, Nicolae then drove his car toward the Continental Building.
He agreed with Marie. Today was a pretty hard day. He had not been in such a situation so intense for the past three days.
Because he was driving, Nicolae knew that he could not drink much. He had to make sure that the two of them could go home safely to their apartment on Robertson Road.
When they arrived at Sky Bar, Nicolae asked for a table hidden in a corner so they could get privacy. He actually didn't like women who drink a lot, but he knew tonight was an exception because Marie just lost her only parent.
Nicolae will allow the grieving girl to vent her sadness by drinking wine or cocktails to calm down. After all, he would make sure Marie would stay safe.
"You don't want to drink?" Marie asked when she saw Nicolae only ordering juice.
Nicolae shook his head, "No, I'm driving."
"How about just one glass?" Marie offered. "It sucks drinking alone. If we stay here and drink for an hour or two, when we go home later, the effects of the alcohol you drink would wear off."
Nicolae wanted to refuse, but seeing tears dripped her cheeks, finally, he relented. The girl was right, he thought. Drinking one small glass now won't have much effect on him when they went home later. And if he was uncomfortable driving, he could always activate the driverless mode in his car.
"Come on, I promise I won't ask you to drink more... just one glass so we could toast," Marie said, squeezing Nicolae's hand with a pleading expression.
The man finally nodded. He relented and ordered a scotch on the rock. Marie ordered Bloody Mary. As soon as their drinks arrived, Marie quickly downed her glass and ordered a second drink. The second one, a Singapore Sling was also downed quickly and the girl ordered a third, fourth, and so on. Nicolae only took a slow sip of his Scotch while watching the girl.
Apparently, Marie is the type of girl who talked a lot when she was drinking. While enjoying her drink, Marie told Nicolae about her childhood, about her lonely life, about how she had to take care of herself after her mother was hospitalized.
Nicolae only listened attentively. He already knew a little about Marie's past when he met Mrs. Lu in the hospital. At that time, he was impressed by this girl.
However, now when he heard in more detail how Marie had practically raised herself and took care of her mother while still be able to live well, Nicolae's admiration for her grew even more.
He even thought to himself, maybe if his broken heart had healed and he met Marie in a few dozens or a hundred years, he would be able to fall in love with this girl. Marie was a smart, charming, and very pleasant girl. However, unfortunately, the man knew himself well enough to know that at this moment, he still could not open his heart to new love.
Marie Lu was the right woman at the wrong time, Nicolae thought sadly.
Nicolae only hoped that after Marie annulled their marriage, the girl would be able to overcome her sadness and meet a nice man and fall in love with him. Then, they would get married for real and live happily ever after. After everything she had been through, this girl deserved happiness.
Nicolae looked at Marie's beautiful face with freckled cheeks and full red lips. The girl sitting beside him was stunning. He watched her attentively as Marie continued blabbering about her childhood and how much she loved the geese in the lotus pond in the hospital garden every time she and her mother sat there to enjoy the sunshine.
Marie's face flushed red because she drank too much. The sad expression had left the girl, and now a big smile was plastered on her face as she told Nicolae how she named all her household objects just so she didn't feel lonely.
"Well ... my washing machine's name is Lilith, my favorite chair to sit at is Edgar ... my very loyal computer is Petra ..."
Nicolae could only smile at the silly and absurd words that came out of the girl's lips. Her words became more absurd and funnier the more she talked. After Mary downed her fifth glass, Nicolae felt that it was time to go home.
"That's enough, okay..." the man said to Marie, who was about to raise her hand and sign the waiter to give her another drink.
Marie just blinked her eyes and looked at Nicolae with a funny expression.
"Hey, who are you? Gosh ... you're so handsome!" blurted the girl shamelessly. Her hands framed Nicolae's face, and she stared at the man with a look of admiration. "I like your eyes ... I also like your long hair. I like your smiling lips ..."
Nicolae was stunned to hear the girl's blunt words. Marie was drunk and no longer cared about what other people would think of her. The man slowly lowered Marie's hand from his face.
"Thank you. Now, let's go home .." He repeated his words and tapped Marie's shoulder several times. "You drank too much."

Ji Chen almost choked hearing The System!

"What? Why should I recruit such a twat? She was the one that aggroed me! How could I, the one that was wronged, admit defeat to a little girl like her?"

He wanted to choke The System to death if that was even possible. 

[Beep!]

[The System doesn't need to answer the host, but it shall grant the host one]

The System's response only made Ji Chen angrier. 

[The System has decided that Marie Rox has enough talent to be the first disciple of your Sect. She is also around the same age as the host, so he is also 'little']

And that was it. It didn't give Ji Chen any more information than that. Ji Chen's eyebrow was twitching hearing The System. Of course, he could see that she was talented at first glance! But the problem was her personality! He had already heard from Mu Lu about how vicious The System was, and how it made the host do its Ultimatum. He didn't really want to think about it, leaving it to the future.

"How am I even supposed to recruit her? She already hates me!"

Ji Chen tried to evade the quest. He really didn't want to experience that pain again. He shivered every time thinking of that. He, instead, tried to convince The System that it was impossible. 

[Beep!]

[The System thinks that the host is not smart enough to do the quest himself, The System will suggest for the host to try reading the {The Profound Knowledge of True Edge}]

Ji Chen just remembered about {The Profound Knowlege of True Edge} and instantly started to open it. Last time, he was just starting at the book cover for too long. But this time, he opened the book whole. 

A white light started to radiate around the book. 

"The heck? What just happened?"

Even with the knowledge that Ji Chen had, he still didn't understand what had just happened. 

Dead souls of ghouls had started to surround the book. It seemed much more than Ji Chen had ever seen, his eyes were glowing. 

A spirit had started to form from all the dead souls of ghouls! Ji Chen could only draw a cold breath. He couldn't sense the spirit at all! That meant it was beyond him!

"Who has summoned me!?"

The spirit that had just formed seemed like a millennium-year-old demon. The demon had antiques on its body, it made him seem grand and royal, but that wasn't what made Ji Chen draw a cold breath. It was how cool he looked! He could only show admiration in his eyes!

"Answer me, peasant!"

The spirit pointed at Ji Chen. It was as if it was commanding Ji Chen to tell him. Ji Chen didn't mind. He simply told him straight up:

"Old man, it was me!"

Ji Chen said with sparkling eyes. He looked like a little kid when he saw the spirit. 

"You dare summon me? I shall show you true hell!"

The spirit started to charge up a cool looking beam, it seemed as if it could instantly destroy planets and galaxies! Ji Chen didn't mind the spirit talking to him like that. After all, he was fascinated by the epic move that he was charging up!

"Old man, don't! This is only the Thirty-Third Heaven! It would probably destroy a lot of it if you fired that!"

Ji Chen advised. He was sure that this spirit was a true master!

But the spirit didn't stop, it still fired. It seemed terrifying close up, even Ji Chen had to nod his head at how much the depth of the attack was! Ji Chen tried using Qi to surround his hands and tried to block his attack. 

The spirit could sense Ji Chen's realm as Human, it had thought that Ji Chen was weaker than itself, so it went for the offensive. 

Ji Chen closed his eyes as if he was preparing to get hit by a megaton of impact. But it was then...

Ji Chen realised that he couldn't even feel the tiniest bit of pain on his hands. He opened his eyes, only to see that the attack couldn't even get an inch further than the Qi radiating from his hands. 

"What? Impossible! How can a mere Human Realm block an attack from my glorious Gold Realm!"

Ji Chen tried to clean his ears with his finger. Did he hear wrong? Gold Realm? So weak? 

"How..."

The spirit tried to speak, but he was prodded by Ji Chen before he could finish:

"Gold Realm? So weak?"

The spirit stared dumbfoundedly looking at the youngster. His arrogant and domineering transformed into a kind and cheerful one, it seemed as if he was about ass lick the heck out of Ji Chen:

"Young master, why have you summoned such a low being like myself?"

Ji Chen's face transformed to admiration to disgust.

"How could someone like you look so arrogant and domineering?"

That was the first question that came to Ji Chen's mind. The depth of that attack seemed bottomless, yet it was so weak that it couldn't even reach his hands!

"Your majesty, my real body had created a Profound Knowledge called {The Profound Knowledge of True Edge}! It contained knowledge that would make even the weakest of attacks look domineering! Sadly, the book was lost and I was forever sealed in there forever!"

Ji Chen started to nod. He understood how such a weak move looked so domineering! He then looked at the spirit. 

"What about those cool effects that made it seem like your spirit was forming from the souls of ghouls?"

The spirit seemed to have cold sweat running down his face. He looked to be very afraid that Ji Chen would destroy it any second! So it replied to Ji Chen's sentence instantly. 

"It was made from Qi!"

Ji Chen asked everything that looked powerful and depthless, but the answer was the same, it was all an illusion. He had an agitated face. He couldn't believe that such domineering looking techniques were so weak!

The spirit was trying to cover its face. Trying to protect it in case Ji Chen went full berserk, but Ji Chen didn't. He asked another question instead:

"What's your name?"

The spirit instantly went from having a hunched back to a straight and noble position:

"The master of Domineering, Kane Ryne!"

Ji Chen was the first to correct it in his mind:

-The master of showing-off, Kane Ryne.

This is going to be my second novel, first being Heavenly Immortal Disciple. I will give this novel an update every 2 days. The two novels will have one chap at one day and then switch the next.

The MC will be very OP in this novel. He will try to lay low. If you hate lay low novels, then this may not be the novel for you. There will be the occasional people who do know of the MC's strength.

The novel will include a Harem. I will try not to make it too big.

I took a deep breath and turned the corner. It slopped down at a sharp angle and disappeared under the water.

"Great, the passage is flooded." I spoke up.

"I can take care of this, unless you want to try your fire on it and turn it into steam. I don't know if it's water or not. Also we could try swimming through it and hope we don't drown or have to fight underwater." Kuro said to me.

"Do not be a smart ass, you are better then that I think. Go ahead and clear the path if you can." I replied.

Kuro nodded and started to Hoover, as he approached the water you could see the koi swimming in the water. I put my sword in the same hand as my shield and focused on my hand creating fire. The fire was so bright that it seemed like the sun came out in the cave. I tried to lower down the brightness and I managed to get it to almost appear black with a red core. I didn't know it could look that way. My house name being called The black flame made more sense now.

"Are you sure you aren't human?" Asked Bolggor. " Only humans skiled in magic can create fireballs in their hand like that and certainty no noob could do what you are doing."

Sighing I replied, "I am very sure of my race. My house is called The Black Flame for a reason."

I tried to sound quite confident and assured in what I was saying to them. I missed how they both instantly turned to me with shocked expressions on their face. Apparently that meant something to them not that I was aware of.

"Ummm, Shi when we get done here I need to speak with you it will be important to your future." Bolggor spoke up.

Kuro made eye contact with me and nodded. He started moving his hands and I was watching the water refers when all of the sudden one of the fish turned and went after Kuro. I knew Bolggor was watching our backs so I moved up near Kuro and shot flame put at the Koi. I watched the flame fly out of my hand and then it went out right as it got closed to the Koi. Apparently I was too far away to use my fire. I was hoping for a stream of flame like a flame thrower not a small ball of flame. So I moved partially in front of Kuro and put my shield up. I couldnt hold back the Koi and grab my sword so again I made a flame and this time I managed to shove it into its mouth as it moved to lunge from the water again. I felt its teeth graze the palm of my hand as I pulled back from the flame.

Time seemed to stand still for a min or two when in fact maybe 10 secs had gone by. The koi started shrinking in out itself and the next thing I knew the Koi exploded and dried guts went all over the place. It looked like chunks of dried or jerkied fish was raining everywhere. Thank god it wasn't slimy and wet my flame dried it and cooked it from the inside out.

*Chime* New recipe has been made. The party can now make dried fish chunks at a camp. *Chime*

We all started laughing at that. Strangely that was just what we needed. The next 20 mins was strangely uneventful. Kuro moved the water out of the way, we avoided puddles and kept moving forward.

Finally we got to an area that had no water at all. I walked in first and lit up the room with my shield. 

"How are you doing on time? This room looks like it could take some time here." Kuro asked me.

"That's right you have a time limit before you get your role and we need to sit down and talk after this. Here friend request me in case we can't talk after this." Bolggor said.

I checked my time and was shocked.

"I have 19 hours left. We have taken 4 hours so far. It feels like maybe an hour and half."

We all walked around the room, I noticed some symbols in the room on each of the walls. It has to be a hint or maybe a puzzle. I looked back at the tunnel we just came thru and noticed the watet filled right back in but something was keeping the water out of this room. I saw Koi swimming around in the water but when they approached the opening they quickly fled from it. I moved closer to the entrance and noticed runes of magic around the door frame.

"None of this makes sense to me, Bolggor have you seen anything like this room before?" Asked Kuro.

"I think this is a riddle room where we have to unlock the sequence in the proper order in order to move past this room. I don't know what anything says. We need someone adept at reading foreign languages. I didnt think it would have this layer of puzzle in a noob area such as beginner town." Replied Bolggor.

"Well then its a good thing that we have someone who can read this writing. Isn't that right Kuro?" I spoke up.

"You can read thus writing Kuro! That's great, wait you said this doesnt make any sense to you. Why wpuld you lie?" Bolggor asked while filled with confusion.

I started laughing.

"I didnt mean Kuro can read it, I am the one with the skill. He was just there when I got the skill. If it wouldn't of been for him, I wouldn't have this quest or the skill needed for this quest. He pretended not to understand English when I first met him and it convinced me to get the writing and language skill so I could understand him." I said while looking at Kuro.

Kuro just smiled at me. I was starting to wonder about him a bit. It was seeming odd that he got me the quest and the skill needed for the quest as well. Also he was the water user for this quest as well. It was like he was dropped into my lap for a reason that I cant figure out yet. When he was an NPC, I could see him having the purpose of giving out the quest and then accompaning us on the quest for the programmings sake but having him be an actual player changed things for me. Just who is Kuro and how did he know what I would need and what we have been facing so far. 

So I started looking around at each wall, I was starting to piece together the story. It was a story of a young woman and a wood cutter near a water fall.

I thought through my Japanese stories and remembered a story my mother read to me when I was really young. I couldnt remember it but I knew i had the book in my bookcase in my room.

"I need to log out a sec to check a book, this area is secure and protected. So I will be right back." I spoke up.

I shifted my location here to make sure i came back to this exact spot and then selected the log out option. As things were going dark I heard Bolggor say, "We need to talk to her about her house and sharing that kind of information. That house..."


I sat up and took the visor off my head... What I just heard from Bolggor seemed very important. He knew something about my house... something that saud I should keep my house a secret from people. I will find out what that is when I am done here. I turned to look at Sam and found him slumped over. At first I thought he fell asleep but as I shifted and put my legs off the bed he jumped up and looked at me. Quickly he covered his hands over his face and turned around so his back was to me. 

"Sam? Whats wrong Sam? Why were you or are you crying? Did something happen while I was in the game? Wait... where is Josh?" I asked concerned.

I looked under the bed but Josh wasn't there. I turned back to Sam.

"So you knew Josh was under your bed. He almost  scared the crap out of me. We had a fight I guess you can say. We didnt agree on some very impoetant things and when I went to tell him exactly how I was feeling and what I truly thought I turned around and he had already left the room. He went right ok the window and hasn't been back since. I don't know what to do. I want to go after him as he was expecting me too but I had to keep you safe too. Wait why are you back so soon?" Sam said in short few word sentences in between his sniffles. Tears were still sreaming down his face.

I went over and hugged him. He held on to me and hugged me pretty right.

"Sam go after him now, I need to find a book in my collection and re-read a story to help me solve a riddle in the game to get past a room."

"I dont want to be gone to long, so I will stay here with you and help you search." Sam said to me calmer then before but still clearly still upset.

"Get out Sam and come back in an hour."

I started pushing him towards the window and opened it.

"Dont make me push you the rest of the way out too. I mean it go... remember you only have an hour so you better rush to find him. Go make up, just remember it has to be a quickie."

Sam's face turned beet red and he fled from my room while I laughed pretty hard at his embarrassment. Now to find that book I thought to myself. I moved over to my bookcase and startsd skimming the covers. I looked through it 3 times but no book caught my eye. I decided to pull out a few of the possible books. Japan tourist information, Japanese folklore, Ways of the Edo period and many more Japanese books littered my floor when I was done. My parents always wanted to take me to Japan but sadly it never came to pass. I got comfortable innthe corner of my room on the floor and started to open them up to look for the story of the woman, waterfall and the wood cutter. After about 25 mins I finally found the promising story. It read:

The Jōren Falls of Izu

At the Jōren Falls of Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, allegedly lives the jorōgumo mistress of the waterfall. The local legend tells of a man who rested beside the waterfall basin when the jorōgumo tried to drag him into the waterfall by throwing webs around his leg. The man transferred the webbing around a tree stump, which was dragged into the falls instead of him.

After that, people of the village dared not venture close to the falls anymore. Then one day, a visiting woodcutter who was a stranger to this all tried to cut a tree and mistakenly dropped his favorite axe into the basin. As he tried to go down to fetch his axe back, a beautiful woman appeared and returned it to him. "You must never tell anyone what you saw here", she said. Initially he kept the secret, but as days went by, the need to spill the story burdened him. And finally at a banquet, while drunk, he told the whole story. Feeling unburdened and at peace, he went to sleep, but he never woke again. In another version, the woodcutter was pulled outside by an invisible string and his corpse was found floating the next day at the Jōren Falls.

In yet another version, the woodcutter fell in love with a woman he met at the waterfall. He visited her every day, but grew physically weaker each time. The oshō of a nearby temple suspected that the woodcutter was "taken in by the jorōgumo mistress of the waterfall", and accompanied him to chant a sutra. When a spider thread reached out to the woodcutter, the oshō let out a thunderous yell, and the thread disappeared. Now knowing that the woman was actually a jorōgumo, the woodcutter still persisted and tried to gain permission for marriage from the mountain's tengu. When the tengu denied him the woodcutter ran towards the waterfall, where he was entangled by spider threads and disappeared into the water never to be seen again.

Now what is the jorōgumo again. I pulled out the ancient beings of myth of Japan book and set upon trying to find out what the jorōgumo is exactly. 

"Come on please be in here, I feel that this answer is going to be very important to our success of this quest." I spoke out loud while turning the pages slowly so I don't miss the information. "Yes I found what I was looking for. I am so happy. I cant wait to tell them the story and what the creature is." 
The small section read:

Jorōgumo: It can shapeshift into a beautiful woman, it is depicted as a spider woman manipulating small fire-breathing spiders.

So I found what I was looking for and now know what the story could read though the different versions might mess me up. I decided to go back and re-read the story again to make sure I dont mess it up.

**Meanwhile while I am looking for my book Sam is running after Josh to try to find him after hours of him heading off whereever he went.**

"Josh are you here? Please be here!" Sam called out " I don't have much time to find you and we need to talk. Please if you are here dont play games with me."

Josh walked out of the barn and said, "I am here and I dont want to talk to you right now. You need to think things through. You just left Marie alone without protection to come after me. How long have you been gone from her side? What more danger are you going to put her at risk of? Did you know that man in black is here in this town. I saw him two hours ago heading towards the orphanage. Now go away and run back to Marie. I will come visit once I am ready to talk to you again. I need to be alone right now and think. You need to think as well about all of this. Now GO AWAY!!!"

I froze, that bad man was back in our town. 

"Shit, I left her awake but against him she stands no chance. Josh come back with me to help me make sure she is okay, please come back. If she is ok you can go until you want to talk to me. I am asking for Marie here."

"Fine Sam I will come to check on her, lets go." Josh said and took off out of the barn at a full run.

I trailed behind a second before I caught up with him.

We started to get close to the orphanage when we both heard a bloodcurdling scream. Time seemed to freeze as we rushed towards her room. Please let us be in time, I, Sam prayed.

You get one character creation and can design how your avatar looks though their are rules: Men and women must be their respected genders, ages are your real age, and your character name is permanent and bound to everything that you do BOTH in game and out. You can pick between races which each come with their own set of rules/abilities. But the biggest thing of all is that all choices are final and forever. "What do you think you are doing?" yelled Shi, "Get down from there right now. You are going to break your neck of you fall from that roof." That little spoiled brat of a kid is going to get me punished again. I hated being the whipping boy (girl) for that noble. This was the life I was given in the game I play. Once your character is made you are stuck with it. But we can change our fate and choose our own if we can solve a hidden mystery...

Sea of Death, Great Kafra Desert—
The Great Kafra Desert was at the edge of the core region that belonged to the Crete Empire. It was also a border line between it and the legendary Batko Empire.
A hundred years ago, the existence of the Batko Empire was just a legend to the humans that were living in the southern and the western parts of the world. The desert empire in the legend was full of mysteries.
According to legend, people in the Batko Empire lived in the desert. Many people in the central province thought that, as they were living in such a poor and lifeless land, they had to have a special bloodline that enabled them to survive.
It was during this time that the talented and genius first emperor Yip Ima Batko had assimilated his tribe and clan into the surrounding smaller tribes, infusing them with power. Under Yip's command, they conquered and united the whole Batko area, then built this huge nation, which is now known as the current Batko Empire.
However, the Batko Empire had been decaying for over a century. This was no real surprise, as it was only natural that an empire that was maintained and controlled by tribes and bloodlines would decline as generations passed. As such, the emperor was no longer capable of holding the entire empire together.
During this time, many tribes had risen up and declared their independence and were starting to refuse to follow the king's orders. They even stopped paying taxes. Soon after this, the city of Fanse from the Tuten Dynasty invaded the Batko Empire.
The Tuten Dynasty was an alliance of cities, the city of Fanse being the most powerful of them all. In the 46th year of the San Calendar, an alliance was formed by the city of Fanse, which had been killing and robbing their way, pillaging all the way up to the political center of Batko, the city of Baber.
In a short period of time, they took over the city, officially marking the end of the Batko Empire. They burnt down the palace, killed the last emperor, and took everything from the city.
The death of Batko's royal family and the loss of the city of Baber had spelt the end of the dynasty of the desert empire. The Batko area had now returned to being governed by tribes and families.
The tribes constantly fought and killed each other, fighting over the limited sources of water and farmland. The chaos and conflict soon spread across the entire area.
Meanwhile, as The Church of Light had just started their own uprising, there were many other religions being formed. Since these newer religions were isolated and harshly suppressed by The Church of Light, the believers of these new religions had gradually escaped from the central province and the west, fleeing to the Batko area and other exotic nations in the south.
As for the Tuten Dynasty in the east, due to the way that the nation was being governed by the alliance of cities, their special religious and cultural structure made it very difficult for these religions to fit in. In the following dozen or so years, these religions were slowly integrated into the tribes and clans of the Batko area.
In fact, religion was the only thing that had seemed to bloom in this poor land, as people began to crave something to believe in even more when faced with suffering and disastrous conditions. As such, many temples were erected, which added an unique dynamic to the area.
Presently, Lu Zhiyu was riding on a camel, while Eve followed along behind him. Both of them were wearing cloaks and had cloths over their faces. The desert was not completely lifeless, as they would occasionally see cactus and shrubs appearing, some of which were actually special landmarks that the traveling merchants used for navigation.
Everyone in their group was spiritless. Back when they had just entered the desert, some of the people had found the surroundings new and refreshing and were be constantly asking questions. However, that newness had now faded, and the entire group was just moving forward like mindless drones now, having fallen into a dead silence.
As of now, Lu Zhiyu and the Rosa Bianca merchants had already been in the desert for a month. If Lu Zhiyu hadn't found an oasis with the special water finding method that he read from a book, they would surely have died of dehydration and exhaustion in the Sea of Death already! Fortunately, aside from encountering a magical sand snake beast that kept attacking them, plus a guard's being stung by a scorpion, they hadn't encountered any real dangers.
As for Lu Zhiyu and Eva, they had been treated with the utmost respect. In fact, many of the people from the group thought that this couple was as pretty as a painting.
However, as the journey progressed, everyone was reaching their limits. It also didn't help matters that all that they could see the whole day was just an endless amount of sand.
At first, one was drawn in by the unique beauty of the desert. Yet now, all they could feel was fear and terror.
Every step they took, their feet sunk down into the sand. Then, as they would try to extract their feet from the sand, the movement of lifting their feet up and down made their feelings of heaviness and lethargy even worse! Many of them soon drifted into daydreams of delusions and despair...
Where are we?
How long will it take before we can get out of this desert?
Why does this place feel so familiar? Are we walking in circles?
Everyone felt sweat trickling out of every pore in their bodies. They were so exhausted, anyone could pass out at any moment. In fact, a few of them were already showing symptoms of heat stroke.
However, at this moment, someone started screaming. This was because a strange noise had just been heard, coming from the rear of the flank.
They looked towards that direction, only to see that a yellow dust had covered the sky! What's more, it now rushed towards their direction, like a monster with an open mouth!
"What is that?" someone asked.
"Sandstorm!" someone else shouted in reply.


By accident, Lu Zhiyu found the entrance to a low-dimensional world, and thus began a totally different journey!

Free to control everything in the low-dimensional game, Lu Zhiyu felt like a gamemaster, and even God.
