"Did you hear about the new game created by Exotic Pear Gaming?"
 "There's a new game? What is it called? What is it about? Has it been released yet? Hurry and tell! Tell me! TELL ME! TELL ME!"
 "Dude chill, I just heard about it today, apparently it's supposed to be the best new game of the decade! It's called Imperium it's an mmorpg that has a xianxia theme. Registration will be open on Saturday at noon."
 "What the hell?! Why noon? That's such an inconvenient timing. I'll have to miss class if I want to register."
 "It's not my fault, who told you to have extra classes on Saturday."
 "Hmph, if it wasn't for my old man do you think I would go to these stupid classes?"

 Huang Hualing was currently eavesdro- ahem- I mean overhearing a conversation between two of her classmates, Xiao Chonglin and Long Fan, two infamous gaming nerds at her school. After hearing the word "game", Hualing's ears immediately perked up as she intently listened to their private conversation. 'Hmm a new game huh?' she thought to herself, 'maybe I'll just have to give this one a try'. 
 As a bonafide gaming addict, Hualing was constantly searching for new and addicting games to pass her free time with. She was average in all aspects regarding academics, however, she is known as the queen of tech within her friend group. No matter the issue, as long as it had to do with tech in some aspect, Hualing was the person to look for. Sadly, she was completely clueless in every other aspect of life, leaving her to be rather ignorant.
 Born into a wealthy family, Hualing didn't particularly care for her grades or academics in general, but ever since she was able to walk and express her thoughts, she has been addicted to all technological devices. At a tender age of four, she was introduced to gaming by her indolent brother, Huang Yong Rui; ever since, she cared about nothing else. Other than learning some skills dealing with tech, she didn't bother with any subjects at school. Regarding this, her parents were rather exasperated, as they already had a lazy son to deal with, they truly hoped to have a hardworking daughter. However, the heavens are unkind and gave them two slothlike entities who only knew how to laze about and play games. 
Sadly, they could never truly get mad at these two seemingly hopeless children, as they both were geniuses in some aspect. Their son, had a gift for business, making investments on what seems like a whim, yet earning millions after the projects were highly successful. He was already named the heir to the family's large luxury hotel chain at the age of 19.
Their daughter on the other hand was an abnormal genius at programming; even winning several national programming competitions and coming in third in a world wide competition at the age of 15. After learning that she couldn't access her games at school, Hualing even decided to learn some basic hacking skills which allowed her to hack into her schools mainframe and unblocking the games. However, she wasn't particularly skillful in that department and a couple days later she was discovered. Consequently she got suspended for a week leading her parents to become exasperated and helpless. 
 Not only that, because she was so addicted to games, she took it upon herself to learn several language, English, French, Korean, and Taiwanese. This led her to become fluent in English and Korean, while being able to read and write sufficiently in Korean and Taiwanese. How does this correlate with gaming? Well of course it's because this lazy gamer was bored with her current server and wanted a change in scenery, leading her to learn these languages in order to communicate with people in the other servers across the world. At only 17 years old, she has already become this unreasonable. Truly, this girl is a hopeless maniac when it comes to gaming.

A new game called Imperium has been released and as a bonafide gaming addict Huang Hualing decides to try it out. 

Huang Hualing is a lazy good for nothing who would've been disowned if she wasn't a genius in tech. As a sloth like entity Hualing spends her days lying about and playing games to satisfy her addiction.

"Leave him alone!"

With thundering footsteps, Subin rushed to the shorter boy's side with a threatening glare. She waved her bag about as she tried to swat the pair of taller boys who were preying on her friend. "I said, 'leave him alone'!" she shouted once more, her voice shrill and raucous. "Are you guys deaf?"

The pair of taller boys sniggered at her as they backed away from the shorter boy who was covering his head with his bag. "Look, it's the bin girl!" one of them taunted as he pointed at Subin. He smirked as he leered at the shorter boy who ran and cowered behind her, "You're lucky you got a tough girlfriend, though no one knows why she'd ever want to stick with a pathetic wimp like you."

"Yeah," the other boy agreed. "But I guess it's a match made in heaven: Bin girl and Junkpoop!"

Subin narrowed her eyes at them both. "He's not my boyfriend," she said through gritted teeth. "And if I catch you picking on him again I'll-" Subin approached the pair who started backing away.

"Chill!" one of the boys said. "Geez, you're like friggin' Amazon woman."

"Yeah," the other boy agreed once more. "We were just having fun-"

"You call that fun?" she retorted. "Get outta here before I get my brother on you!"

Upon hearing those words, the pair started slinking away but not before addressing the short boy who was using Subin as a shield. "This ain't over. We'll be back for you tomorrow, Junkpoop."

The other boy snickered, "Yeah, Junkpoop!"

Subin had a threatening stance which made the dumber of the pair jolt. When they were finally out of sight, Subin turned to Jungkook who looked like he was about to burst into tears.

"Thanks, Subin-noona," he said to her meekly in Korean. He pushed his round glasses further up his nose bridge as they started slipping down.

Subin sighed, "I've told you before, don't call me that."

He looked taken aback. "I'm sorry, Subin" he apologised once more. His brows furrowed as he tried to mentally remind himself time and time again how Subin hated being referred to as 'noona'.

"When are you ever going to learn to defend yourself, Jun?" She asked as she gestured for both of them to start making their way to the parking lot. "It's been three months since you transferred to our school and you still haven't made any friends in your class."

Jungkook stared at her timidly. "I'm sorry..." he replied in Korean again.

This irritated Subin. "Jun, you can't keep speaking in Korean. You're in London now. You have to try and speak English if you want to adjust faster."

Jungkook peered at her with an uncertain expression. "But, it's so hard, noo-"

Subin gave him a warning stare.

"I mean, Subin" he finished. "Can't I just speak Korean when I'm with you?"

"But that's the thing" she replied exasperatedly, "You always hang out with me so you won't improve your speaking because I can understand you."

Jungkook looked at her innocently. "But I can understand English better now! My listening has improved. Listening to you speak English has helped me a lot."

"That's great and all but practising your speaking is more important" she replied. "What's the point of you being able to understand everyone but not being able to express yourself?" Subin shook her head in dismay at Jungkook. "Sometimes, I wonder how you'll be able to cope once I leave school."

Jungkook looked at her anxiously. "You're not going to our school's sixth form?"

Subin shook her head. "Nope. I'm planning to go to college instead. Or maybe move to a better one near central."

A worried expression graced Jungkook's boyish features. "But... that means I won't see you anymore."

Subin glanced at his direction and saw that he looked like he was about to cry. She sighed, "Jun, you can't expect me to stick around forever. It's my final year in this crappy secondary school. You think I wanna stick around with all these arseholes for another two years? Hell no!"

Jungkook looked at her pleadingly and then sighed in resignation. "You're right" he murmured. "I know you hate our school a lot." He looked up at the grey sky, "Why couldn't we be in the same year? Then we could leave this school together."

Subin was about to reply when the sound of a car horn honking caught her attention. Both she and Jungkook turned and saw that Subin's older brother had finally arrived to pick them up.

"Get a move on!" he shouted as he leaned out his car window. "I still got a report to write!"

Subin and Jungkook rushed to the beaten up red car. Once they were inside, Subin couldn't help noticing the putrid scent of her brother's car that immediately triggered her car sickness. "Bloody hell," she complained as she climbed into the front passenger's seat. "When was the last time you cleaned this thing?"

"Quit your complaining and get on" he grumbled. He turned to Jungkook, who was sitting at the back, and gave him a friendly smile as he spoke to him in Korean. "You alright there, Jungkook?"

Jungkook smiled back politely. "I'm good, Yoongi-hyung."

Once their seatbelts were buckled, the car spluttered back to life and they started driving away.

Subin had a sly smile as she glanced at her brother, who she knew was dying to ask Jungkook the usual question whenever he was in the car with them. Inconspicuously, she started counting down the seconds to when he'd ask the question.

...Eight, seven, six, five-

"How's your sister, Jungkook?"

Damn it, Subin thought. Missed out by five.

"She's okay" Jungkook replied, oblivious to Yoongi's true intentions. "She's just started her dissertation now so she's been very stressed."

"I can imagine" Yoongi answered a little too keenly. Subin giggled under her breath at her brother's so-obvious behaviour. "Does she need any help with the citations or anything? I have some good references."

"I think Noona's almost done with it" Jungkook replied. "But she did say that the hardest part was writing the methodology-"

"Oh, if she needs help with that, I'm also writing mine so..."

Subin smirked at the sight of her brother trying so hard. Why couldn't he just be straightforward about it and ask her out on a date or something?

"Hey, Yoongi, is dad back home now?" Subin asked, to clear the awkwardness in the car when Jungkook failed to respond to Yoongi's indirect proposal.

Yoongi grunted, "Yeah, he arrived this morning." But then, he frowned at her. "Why can't you be like Jungkook and refer to me as 'oppa'? I'm your elder, you know."

Jungkook seemed to have snapped out of his daydream as he added, "Subin doesn't like it when I call her 'noona' either."

"Dad doesn't mind it" Subin replied dismissively. "And we're in the UK, it feels weird when I call you 'oppa' in public. I feel like a koreaboo."

Once they had dropped Jungkook off at his house, Yoongi and Subin continued their conversation.

"Why are you looking for dad?" he asked her. "You better not be asking for more money again."

"I'm not" Subin huffed. "I have this essay I need to write for my coursework so it's really important. It's about our family history and stuff and I figured dad will be able to help since he just came back from South Korea." Subin frowned. "It sucks to be Asian. Everyone else in class has it easy because they're all either part Irish or Scottish or Welsh or something."

Yoongi was disinterested. "A family history essay? Sounds boring as fuck."

"Better than some crappy report you gotta write" she retorted. Subin thought for a moment. "Maybe I should've just asked Jun. He's really into all that Korean stuff."

"Yah, that 'Korean stuff' you're referring to is actually our culture" Yoongi reminded her pointedly.

Subin hmphed. "Whatever. But anyway, how's dad? Did you talk to him yet?"

Yoongi grunted. "He's doing okay. It's not like he's the type to cry anyway."

Subin silently agreed with her older brother's statement. It had been two weeks since she had last seen her father after he had left unexpectedly for South Korea to attend her grandmother's funeral. As the plane fares were too expensive for all three of them, their father had decided to go alone leaving Yoongi, who was a university student, in charge of the house while he was gone.

When Subin found out that her maternal grandmother had passed away, she didn't feel anything inside. It wasn't like she was very close to her anyway. She had only met her a few times when she was younger. Naturally, she was closer to her paternal grandparents as her father kept in touch with them and so she and Yoongi did too.

"Hey, Yoongi. What was my mom like?"

Yoongi glanced at her briefly before fixating his eyes back on the road. "Why are you asking about her all of a sudden?"

"Nothing much. It's just that I have to write about my family history and dad doesn't like talking about her." Subin continued to stare out the front car window. "And with my grandma gone, you're pretty much the only person I can talk to about her."

Yoongi was silent for a moment. "She was a nice lady" he eventually answered. "She was a lot nicer than my mom, I can tell you that."

Subin smiled slightly. "Really?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I remember her giving me loads of chocolates when I was a kid. And she was quite a good cook too." His eyes softened as he spoke about her. He peered at Subin briefly again and mentioned, "You kinda resemble her, you know. You have the same kinda hair and the same kinda eyes."

Subin inspected her features in the rear-view mirror. "I wish I could have met her" she whispered wistfully.

Yoongi was silent.

"You should talk to your mom too. Invite her to your graduation next year."

Yoongi's lips thinned at the idea. "She's not worth the plane ticket" he muttered disdainfully. "Let's not talk about her anymore," he said as he parked their car outside their apartment building. "Talking about her just brings back bad memories."

Transported to an unknown era, Subin, a teenage girl raised with western values, wakes up in the body of a serf. In this unknown land, she encounters the aristocratic Kim brothers and finds herself entangled in the webs of deceit; woven by rivalry, politics and hunger for power.

Gun-Ho received a book from Jae-Sik Moon.
"Hmm. Finally, Professor Jien Wang's book has been published. It's thick."
Gun-Ho opened the book. On the other side of the cover page, Professor Jien Wang's profile was listed. It said that he obtained his Ph.D. from Yale University and taught at Yale. He is currently teaching at Zhejiang University in China. There was a brief profile about the translator who translated this book into Korean too. He was an instructor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
 
Gun-Ho turned the first page over. There, he could see the name of the publishing company and publisher, etc. The publishing company was GH Media, and the publisher was Jeong-Sook Shin; the chief editor was Jae-Sik Moon. The name of the design team's leader—Jeong-Sook Oh was shown there too. The price of the book was 15,000 won. Maybe given the thickness of the book, it was priced high.
"Let me see if there is any book review on this book in a newspaper."
Gun-Ho searched the Internet. The three major newspapers: Chosun, Joongang, and Donga Ilbo were making an issue of the book. Even a small newspaper in a province was talking about the book. Maybe because the author was a college professor in China, who used to teach at Yale University. Moreover, the economy prospect in China for the 21st century as the book title indicated is closely related to people in Korea.
"I hope it sells very well."
Gun-Ho opened the book while saying that. There were many charts and diagrams, it certainly looked not a fun book, unlike a novel.
 
Gun-Ho asked for the general affairs manager.
"How many workers do we have, who is above team leader?"
"We have 62, sir."
"Then, please buy this book, 62 of them from online and hand it to all of them."
"It's Economy Trend in China for the 21st Century."
"Tell them to read it and make a book report. The one who submits the best book report will be awarded."
"Yes, sir."
The general affairs manager made a note about the name and the publisher of the book while standing in front of Gun-Ho."
"GH Media? It's one of our companies?"
The general affairs manager seemed to be delighted.
 
Gun-Ho went on a business trip to China. He was carrying the book that Professor Wang authored. He was carrying several Korean versions of the book. Once a book was published, the publisher usually sent the book to the author by mail. Gun-Ho wanted to bring it to Professor Wang himself.
Once he arrived in China, he didn't go to Suzhou City where Min-Hyeok was, but he went to Hangzhou Jien Wang was living in.
Gun-Ho was thinking of calling Jien Wang and asking him to come to the hotel where he was staying, but he decided to visit him to his workplace instead, which was his research office at Zhejiang University.
"Professor Wang? It's me, Gun-Ho Goo. I just arrived in China and I am on my way to your research office."
"What? You are coming to my office? I am in the office by myself and writing a paper. I will be here waiting for you."
 
When Gun-Ho and Jien Wang met, they hugged each other.
"It has been a while."
"Guess what? I brought you the book you wrote. It's a Korean version that has just been published in Korea. The publishing company will send it to you soon by mail, but I wanted to give it to you myself. I brought two of them."
"You could just send them by mail. It is kind of heavy to carry."
Jien Wang looked delighted, he was smiling.
"The Korean language is so beautiful. It is a phonetic language. I am envious of it."
"The Chinese language contains profound meaning."
"The Chinese characters are not easy to use on the Internet, and it is hard to write a foreign language in Chinese. If we want to write a foreign name such as Obama or Trump, we have to make it with Chinese characters. That's difficult."
"We have 24 letters in the Korean language."
"Exactly. I am so jealous. It's so easy to learn. You know what? There are three things that Chinese people will never know in their entire lives."
"What are they?"
"First, since the land of China is so big that they won't be able to visit them all before they die."
"That makes sense."
"Secondly, we have so many different cuisines in each province that they won't be able to taste them all before they die."
"Hahaha. Really?"
"Can you guess the third one?"
"I don't know."
"Chinese people die without knowing all of the Chinese characters. Even I sometimes encounter a Chinese character that I don't recognize because it is rarely used."
"Hmm. That's a bit sad."
"Well, I have my good friend here who came all the way from Korea. I will have to have a drink. I will buy you a drink today. I received a royalty from GH Media."
"That was already several months ago."
"Well, I at least want to buy you a drink, President Goo. You helped me to publish my book in Korea. Let's go and have Shaoxing wine."
 
Professor Jien Wang took Gun-Ho to a shabby bar at Hubin Lu.
"I come to this bar sometimes after work. I enjoy drinking by myself. My favorite menu here is a bottle of Shaoxing wine with a seasoned eggplant."
"This seasoned eggplant and water parsley taste similar to a Korean dish. I like them."
Gun-Ho ate a lot because he really liked those seasoned vegetables. They sautéed the vegetables with a little bit of oil, and they were really good. A pork dish came out.
"This pork dish is a special order for you, my friend. You eat pork, right?"
"Sure. It's good."
The port was sautéed with sliced onions.
 
Gun-Ho thought that the bar was a type of bars where a professor with not much money would come just like Jien Wang.
"I once wrote something while I was drinking at this bar. I sent it to a newspaper. The title is 'thinking of my friend.'"
Jien Wang took out a newspaper from his bag, it looked a bit dated. Jien Wang's writing was in the newspaper.
Gun-Ho started reading it. In the writing, Jien Wang talked about his Korean friend—Gun-Ho as well. It talked about how he met Gun-Ho for the first time, and how Gun-Ho was developed into a successful businessman. He also talked about how kind Gun-Ho was to him when he attended a conference in Korea along with Korean people's sense of public order and cleanliness.
"Thank you, my friend. You talked good about me."
"I really meant it."
Gun-Ho truly appreciated it.
"Let's keep our friendship forever."
"Sure. We will be friends until we die."
Gun-Ho was feeling good and enjoyed his drink with Jien Wang that night.
 
Gun-Ho headed to Suzhou City to see Min-Hyeok. Min-Hyeok seemed to gain some weight.
"You gained some weight. Maybe because Chinese food here is a bit oily."
"I think that's because I ate too many dish when I drink with customers as part of my sales activities. My fiancée already nagged me."
"What did she say?"
"She said I need to lose weight. She even gave me some kind of pills that would help me lose weight."
Min-Hyeok showed a bottle of pills to Gun-Ho, which said Jianfei.
 
The factory in China was doing great, it was vibrant. Min-Hyeok gave a brief report to Gun-Ho on the company's current loss and profit status. Gun-Ho could see how hard Min-Hyeok had been working because of the stock option.
"You have been working so hard."
"Yeah. I actually need some extra money, so I worked as much as I could. I am expecting to get some extra income from the stock option at the end of this year."
"Is it because of your wedding?"
"I will have to find a place to live with my fiancée. The rent is too high, so I am thinking to buy a home in Suzhou City. I will live with my wife right after we marry next spring."
"Do you think you would get a good dividend this year?"
"If things go well as expected, the ordinary income will be 2 billion Korean Won. My stock option is 5% of it, so I will receive an extra 100 million won. There is a condo complex in Suzhou City and it is called Cui Yuan Huayuan. It is close to our factory. I think I can buy a 25 pyung condo there with a loan. It costs 150 million won."
"The price of the condo will increase in the future?"
"I think so."
"Did your fiancée see that condo already?"
"No, she hasn't yet. Her name is Dingding. She will quit her job at school in Shanghai once we marry."
"Dingding? The teaching job in Shanghai International School is hard to get, isn't it?"
"Since she studied in the U.S., she can easily find another job here too. She was already offered a position from Suzhou International School."
"Really? That's great."
Gun-Ho thought Min-Hyeok was doing really good with his life.

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

With a wave of tremble, the Wuling Hong Guang drove up to the sidewalk and stopped in front of the pet shop.
The door opened and Zhang Zian got off the car.　　
The chic ladies glanced at him while they passed by, then covered their noses in disgust and kept a distance from his car.　　
Despite the fact that he didn't specialize in the seafood business, he drove to the beach each day, and often took rare marine creatures, such as fish, shrimp, and crabs, back. He could not wash the containers in the car everyday, so after some time, the car inevitably smelled like fish.　　
Wang Qian and Li Kun greeted him, and carried the new marine creatures into the aquarium. They sorted them and put them into different quarantine tanks so that they could adapt to the new environment.　　
Zhang Zian walked into the shop. The cleaning job was almost done, so he didn't have much to do. He took the underwater loudspeaker battery upstairs to charge.　　
He met Old Time Tea on the stairs. He hinted Old Time Tea and asked gently, "How is it?"　　
Old Time Tea smiled gently. "Everything is under your expectations."　　
The man and the cat looked at each other and smiled.　　
"Quack! What are you talking about in secret? What are you hiding from me?" Richard had sharply sensed the unusual atmosphere while it flew by. 　　
"Right. We are discussing you behind your back––specifically plucking your feather and making you into a stew," Zhang Zian threatened. "After you become stew, the world will be quiet."　　
"Quack! My meat is old and dry––it wouldn't taste good in a stew. I suggest you pick another bird!" Richard flew away quickly.　　
Old Time Tea walked downstairs slowly for the television, while Zhang Zian headed upstairs to wash his hands. They carried a fishy smell after they were soaked in the sea. He could still feel some fine, sea salt granules after his hands were dry. 　　
As soon as he entered the bathroom, he saw Sihwa hide something in a hurry.　　
He pretended not to see it. After turning on the tap, he asked, "Why aren't you broadcasting today?"　　
Sihwa was angry and humiliated after hearing his question. "Today… I'm not in the mood today! I don't want to broadcast!"　　
"Okay. It's nice to take a day off sometimes." Zhang Zian wiped his hands, then left the bathroom.　　
"Wait a moment!" Sihwa shouted behind him.　　
"What is it?" Zhang Zian stopped.　　
"Emm… This… Emm… That…" she stuttered. Her pale face turned red because she needed his help. After stammering for a long time, she took out a book from under a towel. "I can't read. What can I do?" she asked, troubled. "I know a few Korean words, but not any Chinese words…"　　
She could play with the phone, as the phone functions were simple––as long as she remembered the icons. She could make guesses on others, or ask Zhang Zian if it was too hard to guess. However, reading a book full of Chinese characters was mission impossible to her.　　
In fact, she had learned a few Chinese words since she had arrived in China. But she had learned them mechanically; she didn't have any formal, systemic teaching.
"You must be laughing at me, aren't you? You absolutely are!" She pointed at his face in fury before Zhang Zian had even said anything. She was almost embarrassed to tears.
"I'm not laughing at you. It's normal to be illiterate. Nobody is born literate." Zhang Zian shrugged. "Otherwise, they'd be a freak."　　
After hearing his words, Sihwa's mood calmed down a little.　　
"Well… Is there anything you can do to make me literate?" she asked, lowering her head.　　
"Yes. Lend me your phone for a moment." Zhang Zian took her phone and downloaded a few early childhood education apps from the app store. They were all basic-level, but entertaining word learning apps nonetheless; he started with Pinyin, which had real people's voices. The apps were already quite developed, and the functions were complete.　　
He compared a few quickly, then left the most user-friendly one and deleted the rest.　
"Here you are. Follow this. You'll learn them soon." He gave the phone back to her.　　
"Wow! So childish!" She complained as soon as she saw the interface for young kids. "Are there any long-legged Oppas or big-boobed girls teaching the lessons?"　　
"Save it. I'd love to learn if these teachings existed!" Zhang Zian took up her book and flipped through it. The book from Old Time Tea was not suitable.　　
He returned the book to Pi, then found a few fairy tale books with pictures from his childhood book collection. Each character was marked with a Pinyin illustration.　　
"After you learn Pinyin, you can read these books. Just learn the words while reading the stories." He piled the books on the bathroom closet. "Oh, right––books are not waterproof. Dry your hands before you read them. These are books from my childhood. Most of them can't even be found these days."　　
"Books from your childhood?" Sihwa seemed skeptical. "Could there be… Any dirty content in them?"　　
"These are all fairy tales, okay?" Zhang Zian said with frustration. "What kind of person do you think I am? These are the books I read at the age of five or six. What kind of dirty content can there be?"　　
"Fairy tale books? I'm not interested… too childish." She shook her hands. "Let's get something dirty!"　　
Did this fish get contaminated by that bird? What was in her head all day?　　
"You are wrong. In fact, fairy tales are not necessarily childish," Zhang Zian said. "Even adults could interpret content differently sometimes."　　
"What do you mean? I don't understand." Sihwa grew slightly interested.　　
Zhang Zian thought about it, then made an example she could understand. "In fairy tales, you often read stories of Cinderella meeting the prince…"　　
"I know this! It happens a lot in Korean dramas, too!" Sihwa suddenly turned excited, as if she finally found someone with the same interests as her.　　
"Yes, right. That's why people often call Korean dramas 'fairy tales for adults.'" Zhang Zian suddenly changed his tone. "But have you ever given thought to the fact that, in the end of fairy tales and Korean dramas, the story stops where Cinderella marries the prince?"　　
She nodded in agreement.　　
"What about the story after?" Zhang Zian continued to ask.　　
"What story after? It's over!" She didn't understand.

It would be too much of a hassle. Plus, there wouldn't be too many restrictions on her. A bonus would be that one of her favourite boy groups in kpop BIGBANG would be present there. She admires the group as the were not hesitant to share how they feel and break through the orthodox methods.

Her dance lessons were going well. She was now able to choreograph her steps on her own and she felt exhilarated when she was dancing. She was able to clear her mind while feeling the music within her. Her dance teacher was really impressed with her and wanted her to compete. She was considering it but when she thought about it for a while she declined. She did not want to be apart from her family so early. She wanted to be together with them at least until she debuted.

She had already learnt how to play the guitar so it was easy for her to learn keyboard. She had started trying to compose songs. The first few tries turned out sound like nursery rhymes. But, this did not let her down. She put in more effort into the music and tried to pour out her heart. The results were great! Though it would not make a hit song, she was getting somewhere. She realised that making music was not just about which key she should play in or what notes would sound good, it was about emotions. All her scars and wounds are exposed out in the open. It was a liberating experience.

It took her weeks of practice, but she came up with some decent pieces of music. She started writing the lyrics to her songs. Much to her delight, the songs turned out great. She just needed some software to help her record, edit and produce her songs. 

'Sigh, I don't think I will be able to convince mom and dad to get me the hardware for my music. My body is only 6 years old for heavens sake! Plus the market does not have good technology yet. It will take a few more years for the high-tech stuff to come out. '

So-Young had a lot to do. She had no choice but to record her music after signing with an agency. And she would have to convince her parents to let her become an idol. Though her parents were broad-minded, she knew they worried about her. It would take a few years of cajoling to convince them.

Choi Han let out a gasp. Raon continued to speak.

"You most disrespectful moron in the world! Hey idiot, you were tricked! You can't read this, right? I, the great and mighty Raon Miru, will soon learn Korean and be able to read and write it! You idiot!"

"That's right! Strong Choi Han!"

Choi Han started to chuckle. The White Star would definitely come looking for him with that paper, asking if he could read Korean and demanding that he read it and decipher it for him.

He knew that Koreans had a certain amount of pride over their e-sports skills. If others threatened their title as number one in the e-sports world, small sparks like that could start uncontrollable wildfires of rage!

This "backup team" had even managed to make it into the S International League, beating out many other teams during the group stage and almost making their way into the global Top 8.
Team Vic were the true kings of e-sports in Korea, and on the highest ranks of the Korean server, you couldn't go two games without seeing a challenger player with the "Vic" ID tag hanging over their heads!
In the world of Korean e-sports, you would only be recognized as a truly strong player if you queued against Team Vic during ranked games.
In Luocheng's video of his one-sided game against the Koreans, not a single Team Vic member had shown up. Luocheng's original video had been edited by JX, he hadn't intentionally bad-mouthed the Koreans in any way, only prefacing his games with the fact that he was on the Korean server. It was the netizens that had stirred up all the unnecessary drama.
But VVV didn't hold back, commenting in his video on how the overall professional e-sports community in China was severely lacking in all aspects, going on to say how the Ionian Challengers would only be able to make it to Diamond II or III in Korea. As for all the other servers, VVV arrogantly claimed that even most Platinum players from Korea could make it to Challenger in China.
Netizens protested loudly, wanting the conceited VVV to take the video down, but they only got this response from him: I'll give you Chinese pro-players 200 games, if a single player from China makes it into the top 50 of Korea, I'll delete the video and make a full public apology, bowing to show my sincerity. Shallow Dream had previously mentioned this to Luocheng, but back then, Team Skycrown was in the midst of training for competitions, they hadn't had any spare time to deal with it. Plus, Luocheng wasn't going to help fix someone else's problems.
Of course, he couldn't possibly have known that his impact on Korea never really dissipated, he couldn't have known that the Korean e-sports community created a team of the top 50 pro-players to all queue against him while he was streaming!
Oh, you wanted to stream?
You wanted to play three games?

Before Team Skycrown had taken on the title of the LPL champion, there wasn't much of a point for Korea to attack Luocheng like this, but now that he wasn't just the leader of some team from China, he represented the entire Chinese e-sports community, if he were to get slaughtered three games in a row, he would be a cultural disgrace!
Quite obviously, for news from China to get to Korea, there was definitely a middle-man pulling the strings.
That person was none other than Bin Bin from Xuhui district's Team Sunlight.
After their run-in with the media, stream viewership for Team Sunlight was decreasing by the day. Their income took a huge hit, and they had no other choice but to change their ID's and go stream some lower level games on the Korean server.
They were nothing if not good businessmen, getting the contacts of a Chinese exchange student in Korea who played LoL. Bin Bin got him to help write out a post sharing all the details about Luocheng's schedule to the man that hated him the most, Park Yisheng.
Once Yisheng got wind of it, it didn't take long for the entire Korean e-sports community to get up to date too.
It was the weekend so everyone was planning on playing some ranked games either way. Even some more out of the loop Korean players joined in the fun once they knew they were going to stop the leader of China's champion team.
Thus, the Korean resistance amassed an army of 50 people in no time.
That being said, LoL wasn't an MMORPG or anything, how could they continuously kill a single player?
Actually, it wasn't as hard as you'd expect. There were only so many high-ranked players, most of them had to queue for quite a while before they could finally play a game with a full set of 10 people.
Luocheng's Korean account was Diamond I, almost Challenger, it wouldn't be easy for him to queue into a game. So, all they needed to do was have all 50 people at the ready, wait until they got news from China that this champion leader was queuing up, and all start queuing as well. The likelihood that they would get into the same game was extremely high…
Among the 50 people, the more notable ones included Team STG's Park Yisheng, a world-class player, Team Stg's Xue He, also a globally recognized powerhouse, Vic Team S' Li Jingsiong, as well as Team Bok's Li Jinai.
STG, Vic-S, and Bok were all in Korea's OGN's top 8 LoL teams; more than half of the 50 people were also pro-players in Korea's top 16 teams. That meant that on Saturday, once the clock struck 7 pm in Beijing, a war amongst pro-players was going to break out in Korea with their main target being the insolent Chinese champion team leader who dared mock their power, Yu Luocheng!
News of the stream spread around Korea on Saturday around four or five in the evening, and many Korean players were tuning in to many of these pro-players' streams, hoping to be able to finally exact revenge on the player from China. They were certainly in for a treat.

Over in China, the Chinese e-sports community didn't have a care in the world, completely oblivious to the Koreans waiting for this champion leader to fall into their trap. All they knew was that Luocheng was going to be streaming on the Korean server tonight, it wasn't everyday that they had the chance to watch something like that…
Viewership far exceeded Luocheng's expectations, even a hundred thousand would've been a huge milestone for the Thunder Club, but even before Luocheng had even gone live, the QT channel already had 80,000 viewers waiting.
You should know, the viewer count usually doubled after the streamer officially went live, that meant that their stream could quite possibly break over 160,000 online viewers!
Even his personal streams could reach such incredible numbers, almost rivaling Hades' record of 200,000!

"Holy crap, I'm telling you man, if you retired from competitions and went into streaming, you'd be living the good life!" Lin Dong looked at the viewer count and raised his eyebrows high.
"That's a lot of f*cking people. Hopefully you won't get some horrible feeding teammates, it'll be pretty embarrassing if you lose," Da Luo teased.
Luocheng let out a small laugh. "Of course I came prepared."
The two boys looked at the smirk Luocheng had on his face, understanding in an instant that the guy had gotten Shallow Dream to duo with him!
With her, there was no freaking way Luocheng could lose!

Silje saw her adoptive father Frank's BMW arrive but she didn't leave the small empty area located in front of her house. She remained squatted on the ground. Despite the sharp coldness, Silje didn't want to return home.
The car door opened and she saw her adoptive father's chubby red cheeks. She watched him enter the house worriedly. Frank was going to hear about what happened at school today from Olga and he was going to be disappointed.
Silje imagined what had happened seventeen years ago to this conservative couple. What if Olga wasn't diagnosed with infertility at the time? What if Frank's co-worker didn't have an adoptive daughter from China? What if that co-worker didn't brag about how her adoptive daughter was so smart and got such good grades? 
If all these things didn't happen, would Frank still have thought of adoption as a solution for his unhappy wife? 
The result was that Silje was adopted by this couple from Korea. Her Korean name was Shinae Kim.  
Silje Kim Pettersen. This was the name her adoptive parents gave her. They came up with a Norwegian name that was as close to her Korean name as possible. Silje didn't know who her birth mother was, and she didn't dare to try to find her.
Korea, her birthplace, seemed so far away to Silje that it might as well have been on another planet. 
Korea was a small country in Asia. 
Silje always thought about her homeland and finally when she turned twelve, she was able to find a Korean lesson book. During her winter break, she tried to learn the language, but it was too difficult. The letters were completely different from Norwegian and the pronunciation was too finicky. After trying for a little while, she had to give up. A few sentences she tried to write were quickly forgotten.
"Hello?"
"Nice to meet you."
"How do I get to Gimpo International Airport?"

When she was still very young, Silje had a good relationship with her adoptive father Frank. His chubby cheeks would become red whenever he drank. Frank used to treat Silje kindly and with affection at first, but as she became older and started to experience bullying at school, he became distant and annoyed. When Silje refused to attend school, he became angry. It was a very tense period of her life both at school and at home.
In truth, Silje was an excellent student. She was at the top of her class. Other than geometry, her English and second language grades were outstanding. She was especially talented in the languages, but even her brilliant grades couldn't satisfy Frank.
Whenever she mentioned she was being bullied, Frank took it personally and angrily as if Silje was embarrassing him on purpose. 
At the time, Silje tried to understand Frank's fury and disappointment. For a conservative and quiet couple to adopt a foreign baby, it must've been a huge life changing event. But to find out that their adopted Asian daughter was a troublemaker at school? It must've been very hard for them to accept. 
For a while, Silje refused to attend school because of the intense racism and bullying, but she couldn't ask or expect her adoptive parents to be understanding. Even if she begged them, Silje knew they would've never been on her side anyway.
It was very difficult for her to watch her adoptive father become more and more distant, but she knew Frank had high expectations of her and she had let him down.
Silje continued to stand outside the house in the cold. 

In the end, her adoptive father Frank found out about what had happened at school that day. It was gloomy and tense at home.
Frank sighed and drank while Olga remained unhappy. 
The next morning, Silje quietly went to school with a heavy heart.
She usually went to the roof of the school building to spend her time alone there until class started. When she walked into the classroom, the kids were chatting amongst themselves. 
The classroom was arranged with practical yet elegant desks and chairs. The kids glanced at her but Silje ignored them and opened her textbook. She didn't have any friends. She never hung around with anyone.
Silje always ignored the other students. In fact, she didn't want any friends, because anyone who became her friends her would be bullied as well. She didn't want that either. 
After a while of attending the school as the only Asian student, her classmates started to see her with fear at some point. Silje didn't care. All she wanted was to graduate safely and escape this hellhole to be free.
After Silje returned home from school every day, she crossed off the days on her calendar with her pen. This was her only hope and joy. Every day she survived meant she was getting closer to leaving school.
And most of all, Silje was becoming stronger. Slowly but surely, she was gaining strength and someday, she was going to escape this place. 
Her home, her school, and Norway.
Soon.

The first bell rang, and class was about to start. Silje took out her notebook and listened to her teacher calmly.
The first class was physics. An elderly teacher was talking about the internal structure of the sun. Silje was still recovering from the shock of yesterday so she couldn't concentrate. It was a very strange situation where she fell off the building yesterday, yet she was sitting in the classroom as if nothing had happened. 
"Can anyone explain the theory by the Norwegian physician, Birkeland?"
Until the end of the class, Silje stared at her textbook and her teacher didn't say anything to her. The truth was, everyone at school knew Silje was being bullied very badly. This was a controversial issue among the teachers. Many considered it as racism, but the school was unable to do anything about it.
Only her adoptive parents believed Silje was delusional about being bullied. Or perhaps, they knew it but wanted to pretend nothing was happening. Silje had to fight for herself on a daily basis and it was a lonely life. Every day was like war for her.
During class, only one thing was on her mind.
'I hope nothing happens to me today. I hope the day passes by quickly.'
Because it was very quiet until the afternoon classes, Silje was starting to feel relieved.
Just then, someone from behind placed a razor blade against her neck. Silje felt her body become tense and she started getting goosebumps. It was Kail's gang member, Gunhild.
The sharpness of the blade was biting against her skin.
"Come to the storage room after school. Kail will be waiting for you."
Gunhild snickered and added, "He said he has something to say to you."
