A legendary swordsman called by many names, by many people, tested his mettle against a Dragon God because he felt that he had reached the peak of swordsmanship and at the end of their battle to the death, the Dragon God granted him a wish.

NOTE: This is a Highschool DXD fanfic hence the timing will probably not be accurate and there many be plot holes. I don't own DXD itself only my MC and maybe some other made up characters.

This is a really short, overall description of the new world, 'Atarashii'. You can read the auxiliary chapters to get more information, or skip it since I'll describe the story as we go along with the main character. Albeit less detailed than the auxiliary chapters.

If you noticed, the new world name is just 'A New' translated into Japanese, 'Atarashii'. Most names WILL be just pronunciations of translation of Japanese stuff, like names, items, elements, etc. I'm lazy, sue me.

Atarashii is a world of magic that's mixed with cultivation. 

People use magic, but they also have to cultivate by absorbing energy, or mana, to get their core to a higher level. In short, people cultivate their magic core to be able to use better magic spells, have more mana, longer lives, etc. One's magic core level depends on the color.

How fast on cultivates is based on their Magic Roots. Magic roots are born along with the magic core. How many elements one's roots have determines one's speed.

Atarashii was created by the 3 Ancient Gods, Meirei, the Goddess of Creation and Order, Hakai, the God of Destruction and Chaos, and Shi, the God of Life, Death, and Reincarnation.

Atarashii has 5 realms, which are the Mortal, God, Spirit, Angelic, and Demonic Realm.

Meirei created the Angelic Realm and all angels.

Hakai created the Demonic Realm and all demons.

Shi created everything else, life, realms, etc.

The Mortal Realm is where the 24 Races live. This is the most populated realm. This is where mortals cultivate to become immortals. This is also the battlefield for angels and demons.

The Mortal Realm has one huge land for a continent. It's separated into 5 parts. The part that the story will take place in is the Central Plains. The Central Plains is where most humans live.

In the Central Plains, there is a school called Sukuru. Sukuru is the best school for one to learn magic. This is the school to learn and fight against demons and undead.

The God Realm is where immortals and gods reside. To become a god, one has to follow their Godhood. Not one Godhood is the same as others.

The Spirit Realm is where spirits reside.

The Angelic Realm is where Angels resides.

The Demonic Realm is where Demons reside.

The Angelic Realm and the Demonic Realm is fighting against each other. Because they can't enter each other's realm, they fight in the Mortal Realm. 

The Spirit Realm is not in the war. The Spirit Realm is only focused on saving lives. They focus most on humans because they are the weakest race. The Spirit Realm helped the humans by creating the Spirit Contract.

Spirit Contracts are like a second Magic Root, but a lot more. The spirits can transform into weapons or armors through the contract.

A story where a young man gets reincarnated to another world, but by another person's request. That person wants the MC to star in their novel. To star in a world full of magic mixed with cultivation. The MC agrees and then the other person follows the MC like a system. Watch as the MC becomes a god and rule over the world, in about 12 chapters...

What was going on? Zhao Fu had never expected that he would not be among the eight Legatees. He almost couldn't believe this, and he went to the Exchange Stone Stele.
The names of the eight Legatees had all been displayed, and the eight eggs had all been taken away. Zhao Fu's heart sank, and he felt as if he had plunged into ice water. His entire body felt incredibly cold, and he stared at the names on the Exchange Stone Stele silently.
The eight Legatees would have the source energy of the world and would determine the fate of the human world in the future. If there were invasions from other worlds, their power would have a key effect, and they would become the saviors of the human world.
He had not obtained such an important position – could it be that he really was inferior to others? Or was there some sort of reason for this? Zhao Fu started to think about his two trials.
The first was the Corpse Soul Region – could it be that he had not killed enough Corpse Soldiers? Or did he have to clear out all of the villages? Or was there something hidden that he had not discovered?
In the second Great Tang Region, had he died too many times? Or had he missed something? Or was it because he had had relations with women? Or was it because he had not had enough relations with women? Or was it because of Wu Zetian? Did she know something?
When he thought of this, Zhao Fu turned to look at Wu Zetian, who was also scanning through the Exchange Stone Stele with interest, not noticing Zhao Fu's gaze.
After looking at her, Zhao Fu felt that it was not because of her. But just where had he gone wrong?
However, since he was not one of the eight Legatees, there was nothing he could do about it. He could only sigh and try to put this matter behind him.
Zhao Fu once again looked at the eight names – they would become the brightest stars in the human world and would protect the fate of the world.
The first was Arthur Pendragon's descendant, Tina Pendragon. After entering the Heaven Awaken World, this woman's performance had been exceptional. She had performed incredibly well in all of the events and could be said to be a legend. She was the most resplendent and famous woman in the west.
Many people could guess that she would be among the eight Legatees, and they were only surprised that she would be the top-ranked out of all of them. She had already taken away the Sky Desolation Azure Dragon egg.
The second was ancient Egypt's Akhenaten. He was also quite famous, and his name was also usually seen during events. Many people had also expected him to be one of the eight Legatees.
The fact that Akhenaten had placed second shocked many people. It was said that he not only controlled a Nation Armament but also Egypt's Clan Armament, and he had taken the Divine Sun Fire Bird.
The third was China's Si Ji. As the Legatee of China's first Dynasty, Si Ji was quite famous, especially within China. He had a close relationship with the Ancient Clans, and it was not too surprising that he was one of the eight Legatees.
It was just that many foreigners were quite surprised that he had placed third. They had thought that Si Ji did not have that strength, and the Chinese side felt quite disappointed, as they felt that China should have placed first. Si Ji had already claimed the Sovereign Emperor White Whale egg.
The fourth was Geoffrey, an American. Countless people were shocked that he would make it into the eight Legatees. After all, Americans had not performed very well in the Heaven Awaken World and had not done anything big, so everyone had underestimated them.
This time, they had completely shocked everyone. As a modern nation, America did not have any legacies, but Geoffrey had appeared as a member of the Vatican. He took the Nine Celestial Enchanting Deer egg.
The fifth was Babilon, the legatee of ancient Babylon. He had a Clan Armament but no Nation Armament. His identity was quite mysterious, as he had suddenly appeared. Otherwise, everyone would not even have known that he existed.
Ancient Babylon was one of the four Great Civilizations, but it had perished long before the other three. No one knew how much of it was left, and he had taken the Primal Chaos egg.
The sixth could be said to be an enemy of China, Russia's Legatee, Oleg. He was the one who had led a large number of Russian players to invade China last time.
After being forced back by China, he had become one of the eight Legatees, making everyone feel quite surprised.
Now that Oleg had become one of the eight Legatees, he had become even more arrogant and started to provoke China, saying all sorts of prideful things. He had taken the Fenrir egg.
The seventh was Masanori Hano, the Japanese girl who had performed well during the Divine Fish Festival. It was said that she had obtained the Shuten-Douji bloodline and looked incredibly bewitching. She was loved by countless Japanese people, and many people were shocked to find that she was one of the eight Legatees.
For a small country like Japan to produce a Legatee, countless people felt admiration and envy. The Japanese people knew how terrifying her power was. Now, she had taken the Yamata no Orochi, which was quite a coincidence, as the Yamata no Orochi was from a Japanese legend.
The eighth was Ramis from the Inca Empire. The Inca Empire was the first Southern American country, and Ramis was extremely famous there but not anywhere else. The Inca Empire was relatively weak compared to other countries.
After hearing about Ramis being one of the eight Legatees, everyone felt that South America did not have anyone strong, but they had to have a Legatee from there as it was a major continent. That was why he had been chosen. He had already taken the Garuda egg.
In actuality, if Shama hadn't lost to Zhao Fu and had his Nation Armament and Clan Armament taken away, he definitely would have been one of the eight Legatees.
This was because India was one of the four Great Civilizations, and the Maurya Dynasty was one of the most powerful Dynasties. Shama had a Nation Armament and Clan Armament, and it was almost impossible for someone like him not to be one of the eight Legatees.
It was a pity that Shama had been defeated by Great Qin, making countless Indian people feel grieved. If they had known this would happen, they would not have invaded China and would have peacefully waited for this day. With a Legatee protecting them, their nation would have been much safer.
After looking through the information in the Exchange Stone Stele, Zhao Fu felt quite complicated. He had thought that he would be number 1 and be able to take the Sky Desolation Azure Dragon. He knew the Sky Desolation Azure Dragon's power, so he wanted an egg with that bloodline.
However, reality was cruel, and he had been too confident. Not only had he not been able to take first place, but he had not been able to enter the top eight, making him feel quite sad.
As such, he felt some admiration towards Tina Pendragon, who had obtained the Sky Desolation Azure Dragon egg.
Zhao Fu looked down and looked at his Earth Realm Mark. He didn't know how to feel – it had helped him during the trials, but it could not help him become a Legatee.
There was still one final day, and he had no idea what would happen. Countless people were shocked that Great Qin's Legatee had not made it into the eight Legatees and started to discuss this.


“Ding! Soulbinding has been successfully completed; you will now head to the Heaven Awaken World.” After hearing this, Zhao Fu’s vision darkened as he fell to the ground.

With bleak prospects in the real world, Zhao Fu’s life is turned around when countless crystals fell from the sky one night, which people could use to enter an alternate, game-like world. After obtaining an ancient Chinese empire’s legacy, Zhao Fu uses his intellect and resourcefulness to develop his own empire from a tiny village. However, with enemies both in the real world and in the Heaven Awaken World, he must make brilliant decisions and use creative schemes to survive.

"Ahem!" 

Sinha cleared his throat to catch the student's attention.

"Everyone, may I have your attention? As you all know, the point of this trip is to test whether or not you are qualified to become an adventurer, and to prove it, everyone must gather inside the city's arena, at 4 pm, until then you can do whatever you please. That is all!"

That's right, we went to the capital to test how much we have learned these past years, we will have to fight each other in a tournament kind of style, and based on our performance, we might not be able to graduate, and become an adventurer.

"Hopefully we don't have to fight each other" 

Tero blurted something that is bound to trigger a flag.

"Hmph, unlike you guys, we of the student council have a privilege, so we don't have to participate in this proc-" 

Before Aldo could finish, he was interrupted by a member of the student council.

"Aldo! Stop idling around! We need to make preparations for the test, ASAP!" 

"Y-yes, be there in a second!" 

Aldo stuttered, and ran off to the arena.

"Sure is tough being a member of the student council..." 

I said in a worried tone.

After Aldo left, Orfia remove her mask, and said:

"I'm hungry" 

"Yeah, me too" 

After hearing the two of them I suddenly felt hungry too.

"Well for starters, let's go to a bar and order a meal" 

After saying that, I went straight to the bar as Orfia and Tero followed behind me.

After almost getting there, we saw a group of people walking out of the bar.

One who seems to be the leader, had a bright red hair that almost reached his shoulder, with white clothes that looks like it cost a fortune, and was carrying a sword on his back.

The other two that was following him worse the same outfit, one of them had a dragon like tattoo that covers half of his face, and neck, and had a short brown hair, while carrying a big sword on his back, and a large steel shield on his hip.

The other one appears to be a kid that is wearing a mask similar to Orfia's, he had short green hair, and was carrying a bow, and a quiver on his back.

We stare at them silently, until one of them made eye contact with us.

"What are you kids doing here?" 

The tattooed one questioned us. 

"Hmm? Those uniforms... Are you from Cytus academy?" 

It seems that the red haired one was more informative.

"Y-yes we are currently on Filia to test our skills in combat"

I answered in a hurry, and nervously.

"I knew it, we have a friend that's working there, my name is Mikael, this one is Arma, and the one wearing a mask is Aska" 

It seems that Tero, and Orfia's body stuttered a bit after hearing their name, so I had no choice, but to be the one that introduce ourselves to them.

"Ah, my name is Chrono, this is Tero, and Orfia, it's very nice to meet you" 

Mikael stared at us, while holding his chin, and scrutinize.

He suddenly smiled, and said:

"What an interesting bunch. Oh? it's already this late! Well then, it's nice to meet you guys, but we're on a tight schedule so we must go now, may you be gifted with endless blessing from God. Bye!" 

The three of them suddenly vanished. 

Was that teleportation?

"Who were they?" 

"I don't know, but their names are similar to that of the 'immortal heroes'" 

I look at Tero with a 'What's that?' face.

"You don't know about the story of the immortal heroes?" 

"N-no... I don't" 

At that moment Tero remembered that I wasn't from this world, and explained to me what these immortal heroes are.

Basically, they were a group of people that had extraordinary skills. Mikael have 'Angel's Light', Arma have 'Scale of the Dragon', and Aska have 'Wind of Aelous'. 
Mikael's skill symbolize Angel, Arma symbolize Dragon, and Aska symbolize Aelous, a creature said to be the source of the wind.

It is said that the three got their skills from their respective master.

Together they defeated a calamity lord, and was granted eternal life by God.

"Hmm... I'm surprised you know the story so well, considering you're an idiot" 

I teased him a bit to lower the tension.

"What did you just say!" 

At that moment, Orfia wasted no time, and went inside the bar. 

"Let's go eat, what do you want Tero?" 

"Don't ignore me!" 

We take a seat in the corner, and the waitress gave us the menu, I ordered a beef steak with vegetables on the side, Orfia ordered fried rice with octopus, and as for Tero... He ordered everything on the menu.

And after a surprisingly long wait, our food finally arrived.

"Sorry for the wait, here's the meals that you have ordered" 

The waitress had a worried look on her face so I asked if everything was okay.

"Yes, it's just that, someone ordered alot of food, and we ran out of stamina potions, so our chef passed out after using too much fire magic, then we had to go get a stamina potions from a nearby magic shop" 

Sounds tough...

"A-anyways it's just trivial matters so please don't worry about it, and enjoy your meals"

The waitress opened the kitchen door, and I peeked inside a little... 

Living in a world without electricity sure is tough.

That was the only thought that came to my mind after seeing the situation in the kitchen. 

"What's wrong Chrono? Not gonna eat?" 

Tero asked me as he puts in food after food in his mouth.

"No, I'll eat, Itadakimasu" 

I said the traditional Japanese words before eating in a quiet tone, and grab a knife and fork.

"I've been meaning to ask, what's this phrase that you always speak of before eating?" 

Orfia queried. 

"Ah, it's what the people of my old world always said before eating, it is used as a way to thank the one that cooked this meal with hard work" 

"Hmm.... Your old world sounds rather interesting, I'd like to go there someday" 

Orfia's words make me remember my past life.

"What's wrong?" 

"It's... Nothing" 

I eat the meal that I ordered, and looks at Tero... Hmm? Where did the meals he ordered go? Did the waitress forgot to bring his food? I only saw empty, and clean plates infront of him... Oh well, he looks full already, guess the garlic bread that's already served on the table was enough.

A boy who have been given nothing, but pain by God finds a cat in an alley, the boy who was searching, for food in the trash helps the stray cat by giving him a portion of the foods he found. Astonished by the boy's kindness, the cat repays him with a reward that will change his life for the better.

This is not a theology lesson so take what i say about any religion related stuff in real life with grain of salt. Do your own research if you are interested in any theological topic.

So lets begin.
TITLE.
The title of this chapter is "In The Beginning" which is actually the original title used to refer to the book of genesis of the Hebrew Bible. In Hebrew Bible, the book of genesis is refered as "Bereshyt" which is the first word in the book of genesis meaning "in the beginning" (maybe?) just like this chapter.

STORY.
This is of course a generic creation story that just so happen to be inspired by the real life Holy Bible. or was it? (yeah it is). This chapter tells a story of the creation of gods which is actually takes that all the gods as a hypocrite in some sense. lets begin, ehmm ehmm. Aku gave the lands he created to Anu yet he wanted to destroy it after he gave it albeit in deceit. Anu, well he deceived his brother to give him all the lands he created while he basically became the most venerated that even his name shall not be used in vain. El is even worse as he abused his father name to take his brothers land and enslave some of them in an eternity of servetitude as Ang-El. It is messed up.

NAMES.
Aku.
Aku comes from a japanese word (yes i'm a weabs) "aku" or pronounced "ah-koo", the word has several meaning to it (as i know it). Aku in japanese means "to open" e.g. "to open a story", so the character Aku is used to open the story as he was the first one mentioned BY NAME in the story. The word aku in japanese also means "evil" which considering the author of this story of creation is the worshipper of Anui-El which has Anu's name on it which is the opposite diety of Aku. Interestingly, since this book is written by whorsipper of El, Aku might not be the real name of this diety but rather was invented by the author of this book to make a point that this diety is not to be venerated or exalted. but i digress. 

Anu.
Anu is in real life a mythological supreme god and ancestor to all diety of mesopotamian religion(?). Anu in the story reflects his real life counterpart as the supreme god and the father of all gods. Even his name carries power with it (we will talk about concept of name) as even El is afraid to use it. Anu in the story relinquish his power to his children especially El which he gave his name. The interesting part about Anu and El is that they are believed to be the same being (maybe?) but El is the Canaanite version of Anu so in the story they did become one as Anui-El.

El
El is in real life the Canaanite version on Anu. The name "el" in Hebrew means "god" as god in general sense but sometimes as specific diety El or Elohim or El Shaddai (in the Holy Bible). El was a god specific to northern kingdom of israel (maybe?) but later syncretisized YHWH, a god from souther kingdom of judah (maybe?). El in the story has a role as the supreme diety of all including his own brothers children of Anu as he is the one to wield Anu's (once again, not a dirty word) name as Anui-El.

Anui-El
Anui-El is El wielding his father's name alongside him. This form of El is the most powerful being in existence in the story. However his power is so great that El himself is afraid of using it. Interestingly Anui-El is (was?) one of the diety in my favorite game The Elder Scroll V : Skyrim. He is the father of Auri-El (Akatosh?). So yeah play Skyrim.

Ang-El
Ang-El is obviously the play of word "angel". Now, the original meaning of word "angel" doesn't hold any meaningful relation to El even though angel is the servant of El both in the story and real life Holy Bible (maybe?). Angel came from the greek word "angelos" which means "messanger" which is translation of hebrew word "malakh". So lets say in this story that Ang-El means well "Messanger of El" (please? i can use Abdi-El instead but it doesn't have the same punch so not as cool).

El-Shaddoll.
This is obviously a play word from the name of god " El Shaddai", or was it (yes it is). It is actually name taken from a (children?) card game yu-gi-oh (which got its own anime, yes im a weabs) which i used to play. In fact El-Shaddoll was my favorite archetype. anyway, El Shaddai usually translate to "god almighty" and El-Shaddoll is a play of El Shaddai and doll. Doll is a thing which has to be controlled by something in order to move so El-Shaddoll can mean "god almighty that controls everything" (yes it is ridiculous).

CONCEPT.
___.
The mark of the beginning of which even nothingness didn't exist. The "___" are made up from 3 letters of "_" which signifies cycle of life and death that is The Creation, The Preservation and The Destruction. This concepts borrows from hinduism concept of trimurti in ehich Brahma, Vishnu, and Syiva mirror this concept of beginning as it foretold the future.

The Being.
In the story, there was a being who created nothingness out of ___ but disappear afterward. This unammed and unknown being  is the godhead of the story or basically the author of this Bible which is me (this foretold what i'm about to do to this book. ha i'm joking. am i?).

The Lands and 70.
This is an interesting thing taken from the real life Holy Bible. In the book of deuteronomy 32:8 tells a strange story of Most High (El Elyon) dividing mankind into 70 nations and giving each land to each of his children which is the gods? (wait what?) which is a bizzare story found in monotheistic setting of the Holy Bible. So weird in fact that some translation just straight up weird and confusing.

The Name and The Gift of El.
The Name in the story refers to the name "Anu". In this universe, name is imbued with power or magic behind it (In fact there will be a story (no spoiler please!!) about a man who forcefullu gather names for himself). The Name or Anu is the most powerful name ever existed that even El is afraid of using it. The Gift of El of course refer to Anu's (damnit) gift to El which is his Name.

The Oath.
Holy or un-Holy oath or just any oath in this world or specifically the Land of El is damning for its breaker as punishment is severe and will be discussed in further chapter.

The Holy Bible of El-Ven is collection of story from a fantasy world El-Den telling its creation, gods and people. The book is written with inspiration from The Old Testament in a more fantasy point of view. 

This book is not meant to mock any religion as the writer is religious himself, it is however to provide enjoyable experience or just for fun. This book is written in a style thar the people of the story are supposed to be the one authoring the book not the writer.

This is the first time i wrote a book and i am not an english speaker but i enjoyed reading english materials and decided to write myself.
In this book the reader will find author's note littered within the book to give the reader help on understanding the story, its interpretation and interesting bits.



Warning : This story is fiction and the likeliness of character and name in this story in relation of real life is coincidence or satirically deliberate.

The carriage that I was sitting in was a slightly expensive carriage as it had 2 Gold Immortal demon beast pulling it. So you will know the expense of the carriage they are mostly decided by the beast pulling the carriage and the cultivation base with the carriage looks and materials being extra. As the beast are divided into a wild beast, demon beast, spiritual beast, divine beast, and finally sacred beast. 

Wild Beast are the weakest and are used to pull common carriages  as they have low intelligence and mostly only in mortal realm. Demon Beast is second with them being between immortal realm and mortal realm. They are somewhat smart with an equivalent being at maybe a 3 year old child when full grown and are around twice as strong as wild beast. Next is Spiritual Beast the beast are born with intelligence the same as an adult human when they grow and you will see them being having no specific cultivation base. Most of the time these beast can transform into human and will be in that form when they walk around unless fighting a dangerous battle. Finally is Divine Beast and Sacred Beast as they are almost the same thing for example dragons are considered Divine Beast, but only for common to Emperor as Ancestor and above are considered Sacred Beast. Similar to Spiritual Beast they will be mostly in human form with no set cultivation base. 

I was curious about how are beast divided into the categories and can only Spiritual Beast and above transform into a human, which Aeris answered me. She said that beast are divided by their bloodline strength and intelligence with them being able to transform into a human being the same. For example, wild beast only needs to break through to the immortal realm to transform into a human, and the same can be said for the spiritual beast as most can only transform when they reach immortal realm. This causes me to be more confused as she explains further. 

She said that the higher and stronger the bloodline is the harsher the requirement is to transform. There is only one requirement which is intelligence. The stronger the bloodline the more intelligence it needs to transform. This is why Divine and Sacred beats can transform almost as soon as they are born is because they have intelligence at an adult human at an early age thanks to bloodmarks. Spiritual beast takes a while longer to have the necessary intelligence to transform. 

The bloodlines are divided between higher and lower based on the energy the bloodline automatically uses and the bloodline limit. Wild Beast and Demon Beast use spiritual energy, Spiritual Beast uses a mix between Spiritual and Spacial energy, Divine Beast uses Spacial and Universal energy, and Sacred Beast will Universal and higher energy to cultivate. Bloodline limit are the limits to a bloodline an example is a cup that can hold liquid as, like a cup that can only hold so much water before overflows, bloodlines can only help to a certain point before the creature has to rely on itself. The limit is mostly based on the energy that the beast inhales and the bloodline itself and the intelligence it gives the creature.  

Bloodline can make creatures cultivate with no problem to a certain point without any effort. Bloodline can be known as a double-edged sword as it helps you reach a realm without any issues, but once you reach the capacity of the bloodline it will no longer help and this is where the problem comes in as the being having relied on bloodline strength they are not used to facing obstacles to break through a boundary causing them to almost never break through unless they managed to upgrade their bloodline or change their mental state. 

An example is Wild Beast bloodline limit is mortal realm as they can only absorb Spiritual energy, have low intelligence, and the bloodline only helps their bodies a little making it hard to reach higher realm. Demon Beast highest limit is Immortal Realm. The spiritual beast highest limit is god emperor stage as to break through this stage the person must transform .1% of their energy into universe energy. Divine Beast highest bloodline limit being Universe Realm. Finally Sacred Beast highest is World Realm, however, she added that even though they can reach world realm with their bloodline most still can not arrive at that realm after Universe Realm it becomes harder and harder to arrive higher as there are several requirements to break through each layer.      

Taking in the information I was intrigued a little with the information on the beast as Aeris told me for a while, before becoming bored after a day in the carriage so I look over at the maid to get a better look at her. After almost 2 years pass by with sometimes during these 2 years after careful consideration I decided to change my name from Kaizer Hazard, since I hate both my father and my family, well except for my beautiful mother and sister of course, and changed them to my former life first name Marcus with Dammin as my last name as I thought of the last name as it sounds good together with my first. I started to have bad dreams after 1 and a half when the milk was gone and just stayed up all night reading books or going through my memories.
