The stars in the sky are thought to hold some sort of higher purpose. A beacon to guide lost souls back onto the correct path. A way to identify people and their personalities. A map of the endless universe. I never saw it that way.

Stars are just stupid rocks floating far out of humanities reach. An object humanity is far from obtaining. So why the fuck is one hurdling towards me at this moment. Thoughts like ‘I had a good run’ and ‘I hope that Peanut Butter will be ok’ flew through my mind as it approached.

Closer and closer it flew. An object of destruction greater than I could comprehend. Fire tore the sky behind the Armageddon as a roar louder than thunder pervaded my skull and rattled my teeth. Yet I didn’t scream... because I didn’t feel afraid.

What is about to happen? Hmm... I wonder (^_^)

NOTICE: This story has multiple characters who can be considered as main characters and multiple stories which fuse together and branch apart from one another. There may be some mature elements in the novel but I refuse to give it a restriction, therefore I would advise you to read at your own discretion. Thank you for giving me a chance. Jane (20th) adalah seorang putri mahkota, putri tunggal dari seorang raja yang tidak memiliki seorang istri dari kerajaan bernama kerajaan Slebia yaitu kerajaan dipingir laut dengan kastil istana yang menjulang tinggi ditebing dan rakyat yang sangat makmur dan damai. Suatu hari ayah Jane memutuskan untuk menikahi pengasuhnya dan Jane yang sangat polos sangat senang dengan keputusan ayahnya untuk menikah lagi tapi semenjak ayahnya menikah kondisi kesehatannya perlahan memburuk hingga akhirnya meninggal dunia. Jane harus menjadi ratu tapi ia belum menikah san tidak siap dengan tanggung jawabnya menjaga kerajaannya. 

Jane meminta ibu tirinya untuk menggantikannya sementara sampai ia cukup  siap tapi kemudian setelah penobatan, sikap lembut Riana ibu tirinya berubah menjadi kasar. Jane dikurung dan disiksa hingga Riana meminta anaknya Ruben untuk membunuh Jane agar ia tidak mengganggu kedudukannya ditahta.

Ruben yang sejak lama memendam perasaan pada Jane meminta Jane untuk bersembunyi dan menjadi istrinya diam-diam tapi Jane menolak membuat amarah Ruben meledak dan memaksa Jane untuk memenuhi hasratnya tapi Jane berhasil kabur dengan sisa tenaganya ia melarikan diri.

Dengan sisa tenaga Jane berlari hingga ketepi tebing dan akhirnya jatuh kelaut.

Disisa kesadarannya yang mulsi memudar Jane, melihat seorang pria tampan engan ekor seperti ikan mendekat dan berenang memutarinya.

"Aku akan melakkukan apapun untukmu tapi selamatkanlah aku.." Jane hanya dapat berucap dalam hatinya sebelum ia kehilangan kesadarannya.

Dan saat Jane terbangun ia berada tepat ditempat tidurnya, ia kembali pada masalalu dan Pria yang memiliki ekor ikan itu telah berubah menjadi pria yang akan melamarnya..

Akankah Jane dapat menemukan jawaban dari kebingungannya dan menemukan cintanya yang sejati?

As I sat down on my Literature Class, my all eyes and ears ate focused infront. Lecturing about a novel entitled 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen. All must say, she is very talented, isn't she. A masterpiece I guess.

"so class, Pride and Prejudice is set primarily in the county of Hertfordshire, about 50 miles outside of London. The story centers on the the Bennet family, particularly Elizabeth. The novel opens at Longbourn, the Bennet family's estate. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet have five children: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. The family engages in a conversation about Mr. Bingley, "a single man of large fortune" who will be renting the nearby estate of Netherfield Park. Mrs. Bennet sees Mr. Bingley as a potential suitor for one of her daughters. The Bennets first meet Mr. Bingley and his companions at the Meryton Ball. The townspeople conclude that Mr. Bingley is perfectly amiable and agreeable. Meanwhile, Mr. Bingley takes an immediate liking to Jane Bennet. Mr. Bingley's friend Mr. Darcy, however, snubs Elizabeth. The community decides that Darcy is proud and disagreeable because of his reserve and his refusal to dance. Jane finds Bingley's sisters - Caroline and Mrs. Hurst - to be amiable, but Elizabeth sees them as arrogant."

My classmates are very focused infront, because like me, they are interested about the novel. Literature course, is such a suitable for me. I son't know but this one is so very refreshing. But my bubble imagination popped when my professor call me. 

" So, Ms. El Henry, please give is some of your reactions about this novel of Jane Austen". 

As I stood up, all of my classmates focused on me, waitung for my reaction about the novel. 

"Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is such a very impression and wonderful masterpiece and timeless. Like Darcy comes to love Elizabeth sincerely by the end of the novel therefore because she is one of the only women to stand up to him and to teach him a lesson that leads to true development in his character. This builds on his earlier favourable impressions of Elizabeth to form a solid, lasting regard and love towards her."

" So you're sating effort is one the mixture of the lasting regard and love to the people like the characters situation in the Novel? " My professor ask. 

" Yes, Prof. "I agreed

" Why can you say? Support your side" 

"Lasting love has to be built on mutual regard and respect. It is about seeing the other person or other people. I am very interested in relationships and, when I watch couples,observing people sometimes in their simple eye contacts will saw the effortless love that they have. the ideal state of romantic love and without a whole lot of rational thoughts you typically attempt to secure the object of your passion by putting their wants and needs ahead of your own. It's as though you're saying to yourself: "So I can make you mine, I'll make fulfilling your desires even more important than my own." It called a selfless love. You do all of your best to fulfill the love for your partner or to other people." I feel the intensity amd more focused on my classmates because of my words. Same as my professor that nodding while I'm saying all I want to say. As I continue what I'm saying, I saw Andrei outside of our classroom but it isn't time yet. He's eyes widened and all eyes and ears on me too. I continue speaking. 

"And whether or not you're aware of it, the "deal" you're making to maximize the odds that the one who's endeared themselves to you will return this endearment involves a considerable amount of manipulation. That is, your efforts could hardly be described as disinterested. As generous in spirit as your "giving" relational stance might appear, it yet includes a crucial contingency clause. Hopeful about enamoring yourself to your beloved, you're essentially proposing a this-for-that, give-to-get, exchange. So even though to an outside observer your behavior might seem selfless or self-sacrificing, it's actually an intuitive, and quite clever, way of "captivating" someone whose value you're assessing as, well, invaluable. That's all Ma'am, Thank you" As I finished my recitation, my classmates clap their hands and gave me a thumbs up because, I don't know, jabe a point? "

" That's very impressive Ms. El Henry, but I have a last question. "my professor said. 

"What is it Ma'am?"

"Are you inlove?" 

My classmates tease me because of it and blush at the same time.

"I think, it's yes" after I answer that, my eyes flew in Andrei, waiting outside. As he saw me eyeing him, he smiled back at me. 

After that our class dismissed but my classmate started to tease me and curious about who's the lucky guy.

Nikkola El Henry is a Business Administration student who was a bully victim in her past school years. It’s because she is always been quiet and anti-social kind of person. But the truth is, she is a sweet little brat that his only one best friend knew, Andrei Del Fierro. They're always been attached only the two of us and they are okay on it, to be satisfied as be a best friend who will be by their side to be partner in crime and a guide to each other. But the truth is, Nikkola El Henrey slowly falling inlove in Andrei. 

But one time Nikkola meet her transferee classmate, Lucas. She knew that nothing's gonna happen if Nikkola tell to Andrei about her feelings so she grab the opportunity and give her attention to Lucas. 

But the time is out and the accident came. 

"Now that the breaking dawn is now infront of me, in exactly where we started are journey, may you remind my heart that you'd loved me once. Even it's only one time, I must say... I love you as you can imagined" - Nikola El Henry

Lucas is a Filipino-American boy who has feeling in Nikkola and he tried to be close in Nikkola. Because Nikkola is a girl who don’t have many friends, she grab it. They are transformed to be a close friends. They attache to each other and Nikkola's time for Andrei is slowly fading but not her love for him. Thus, she already fall inlove to him. 

But the time is out and the accident came.

J felt all her blood crept up to her face. She looked at the dishes that Madam Kelly prepared. It consists mainly of leafy vegetables, legumes, fish, meat and eggs. These foods boost fertility, Madam Kelly sure knows her thing. J thought.

After they had their lunch, Madam Kelly and Chairman John went up to their bedroom to take an afternoon nap. J was left in the family room.

 After a couple of minutes, Jacob walked in the family room with a couple of books in his hands. 

"I noticed that you liked reading classic novels. I got a couple here from the library, but I am not sure if you have read any of this. You should take a look. If you have already read them, I'll find another one for you." Jacob said with a smile standing in front of her.

J was sitting on the sofa so she has to tilt her head upwards to look at Jacob. Her face becomes gentle realizing how Jacob take his time to notice her habit of reading and what kind of books she prefers to read. She reached for the books before saying 'Thank you' to Jacob.

Jacob sits beside her and grab for the remote control of the flat-screen TV and turned it on. Madam Kelly already insisted on them to stay overnight and they complied.  Without anything to do this afternoon, Jacob decided to watch a movie while he searched for books for J to read.

J looked at the books that Jacob brought her. Jacob was right, they were all classic novels from Jane Austen, Emily Bronte, Alexander Dumas, Leo Tolstoy, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Bram Stoker. She has already read all these books that Jacob brought her. But to avoid disturbing Jacob from watching, she didn't tell him. Instead, she chose Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, which she has read a couple of times.  Jane Austen is her favorite author and she has a collection of all of her six books. Among them, Pride and Prejudice is her favorite. It is a romantic novel about two lovers whom before had their happy ending have to conquer their pride and prejudices against each other.

J had even memorized the authors opening line, 'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.' Thou she finds it ironic, as these days those man with a good fortune would rather stay single to enjoy their liberty. Just like how Jacob and J were before they met.

After half an hour reading with her back leaning on the backrest of the sofa and her feet on her front closed to each other, J felt a little bit stiff so she stretched her back and neck. 

"If you're feeling a little stiff you can change your position. How about you raise your feet on the sofa?" Jacob said with a worried look.

When he receives no response, Jacob got off his seat and kneel in front of J.

"What are you doing?" J asked with a surprised look.

Jacob didn't answer her instead, he took off her slippers and raised her feet on the sofa with her knees pointing on one side. Then he returned to sit beside her.

Due to her position, her body is now leaning to Jacob's body and her knees were now touching Jacob's hips. J gazed at him. "Feels better, right?" Jacob said smiling when he caught her gazing at him.

At the age of 10, J's parents died in an ambush leaving her in the care of her grandfather who years later sent her away along with her best friend to hide her and her identity from those who would try to kill her after her parents.

20 years past, a lot of things had already happened. Her dearest grandfather died, she came back to Lotus City, and was secretly married!

She was married off by her grandfather to his best friend's grandson before he died and she was oblivious about it.

Do this secret marriage has to do with her secret identity?

Sometimes life is not what you expect it to be. Kids grow up thinking it is easy to live in this world, but once they grow up, they wish they would be young again.

Some people grow up expecting to live life the way they want to, but they end up living life the way they are supposed to. Day by day, not realizing how time passes by with life slipping away. 

Did you ever think of the phrase "Why can't this be me?" I'm sure you did. Everyone does. But because of what surrounds you, you can't always do what you want.

I am one of those people who asks 
this question every single day. 

I look up to Jane Austen, Walt Disney, J.K.Rowling, Nicholas Sparks and all of those who achieved amazing things in life.

My name is Edeline, I know it sounds so old fashioned, but i love it.

My mother used to love Jane Austen and she's the one who made me fall in love with her books.

She loved old fashioned stuff and that's where my name came from.

When my parents got married, my mother re-decorated her room just to make her writing desk set in front of the window. 

She kept all of her Jane Austen books on that desk.
She always told me if anything happened to her, I would keep the books. 
I never understood her love for the books, but when I grew up reading them, I knew.

Jane's life was not easy. Everyone around her wanted her to marry the man her parents told her to marry, and Jane always wanted to be an independent woman, and she achieved that by writing books.

My mother's life was similar to that.
My grandparents made her marry my father, while she was in love with another man.

Another man that never stopped loving her, but had to let her go.

They always say, "if you love them, let them go", I've always had curiosity of how he looked like, but my mom burned the pictures because they held her back, she said.

I could never tell if what's between mom and dad is true love or not. Maybe they just have to love each other. I guess that's how marriage works?!!

Everytime I asked my dad, he would say, "your mother was young and she did not know what's best for her".

My mom decided to leave to North Carolina to sell my grandparents house. I didn't know why. It was a beautiful house that had a huge garden and a small lake out front.

My dad didn't want her to go by herself, because he was so overprotective. 
I hate that about him...

But she was stubborn and decided to leave anyway.

She left and never came back...

Tempat part timeku adalah sebuah toko buku kecil yang berada beberapa blok dari apartemenku. Yang dijual di tempat itu rata-rata hanya novel klasik dan buku-buku ketrampilan, serta beberapa alat tulis. Aku menyukai tempat ini karena interior antiknya. Phil, pria paruh baya pemilik toko buku ini, tidak mau menjual buku-buku modern seperti novel keluaran terbaru atau buku-buku yang mempunyai versi e-book. Phil ingin tokonya tetap menjual buku-buku langka yang tidak lekang oleh waktu. Seperti novel klasik Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Tom Hardy, dan sebagainya.
Aku mengagumi prinsip Phil, tapi di jaman yang modern seperti sekarang sulit juga bersaing dengan toko buku besar di kota ini yang jauh lebih lengkap dan maju.
"Hai, Phil!" sapaku dengan riang walaupun udara di luar sangat dingin. Hari ini aku akan berjaga sampai toko ini tutup pukul tujuh malam. Kulepas mantelku lalu melipatnya.
"Rosie," sapanya sambil tersenyum. Kedua mata abu-abunya menatapku dengan ramah di balik kacamatanya. "Apa kau sudah makan siang?" tanyanya sebelum melepaskan apron berwarna hijau tua yang memiliki emblem nama toko ini. Awalnya aku geli sendiri karena harus mengenakan apron di sebuah toko buku, tapi Phil bilang Ia tidak mampu membuat seragam untuk pekerja part time karena biasanya pekerja part time berganti setiap tahun jadi Ia merasa membeli seragam baru setiap tahun adalah pemborosan.
Well, masuk akal juga.
"Belum, tapi aku membawa roti isi untuk makan siang hari ini," balasku sambil menaruh tasku ke dalam satu-satunya loker di balik meja kasir lalu mengenakan apron hijau tuaku.
"Kalau begitu aku pulang dulu, hati-hati saat pulang nanti, okay?" balas Phil sambil melambai padaku. Aku tersenyum lalu melambai balik padanya. Phil tidak menikah dan hidup sendirian, tapi kudengar Ia memiliki kekasih yang seumuran dengannya. Ia menghabiskan sebagian besar hidupnya di toko buku ini, karena memiliki tempat ini adalah cita-citanya sejak kecil.
Aku merasa iri padanya. Hingga kini aku belum tahu apa yang akan kulakukan setelah lulus tahun depan. Elliot sudah pasti bisa bebas melakukan apa yang Ia inginkan. Sedangkan aku masih harus melewati izin Dad. Musim panas tahun depan aku dan beberapa teman berencana tur ke beberapa museum besar, karena itu aku berusaha mencari uang dari part time selama delapan bulan terakhir ini untuk bekal tur. Karena jika Dad tidak mengijinkanku pergi, aku tetap bisa berangkat dengan uangku sendiri.
Anggap saja saat ini adalah fase pemberontakanku yang terlambat, karena aku tidak pernah melewati fase itu saat remaja.
Kupangku wajahku dengan salah satu tanganku sambil menatap ke jalanan kota Cambridge di seberangku. Daun-daun pohon berwarna oranye cerah jatuh ke sekitar trotoar di depan toko buku ini. Sesekali orang-orang berlalu lalang di depan toko.
Biasanya hanya ada belasan pembeli yang datang ketika aku berjaga, jadi suasana sesepi ini bukan hal yang aneh bagiku. Tiba-tiba handphoneku bergetar dari saku jeansku, aku mengambilnya lalu melihat foto Dad muncul di layar. Aku tersenyum kecil sebelum mengangkat sambungan dan menyapanya.
"Hai, Dad, ada apa?"
"Rosie, jam berapa kelasmu berakhir besok?" Suara Dad yang familiar membuat hatiku terasa hangat. Walaupun protektif tapi bagiku Dad adalah tetaplah ayah terbaik.
Keningku berkerut karena berpikir. "Memangnya ada apa?"
Suara dentingan bel pintu toko buku berbunyi saat seseorang masuk.
"Dad, aku akan meneleponmu nanti, okay?" bisikku sebelum mendengar jawabannya, lalu aku memutus sambungan telepon kami. Phil mewanti-wantiku untuk tidak telepon atau mengirim pesan saat sedang ada customer, pegawai part timer yang sebelumnya harus dilepas karena Ia terlalu banyak bermain handphone saat bekerja. Kuselipkan handphoneku kembali ke saku jeansku lalu berbalik.
Seseorang sedang melihat-lihat deretan buku di salah satu rak sambil menyentuh covernya sesekali. Rambut pirang gelapnya yang sedikit panjang dan diselipkan ke balik telinga kelihatan familiar, begitu juga hoodie merah tua dengan emblem Harvardnya. Ia adalah pria yang duduk di sebelahku saat seminar tadi.
"Apa kau butuh bantuanku?" tanyaku seramah yang kubisa. Kadang ucapanku masih terdengar terbata-bata ketika berbicara pada orang yang tidak kukenal, tapi untungnya setelah beberapa bulan bekerja sebagai penjaga toko buku aku jadi semakin terbiasa.
Ia menoleh padaku lalu tersenyum, kedua mata birunya lebih terang dariku. Dan kelihatannya Ia juga lebih muda dariku, kemungkinan mahasiswa tahun kedua. "Apa kalian punya novel Tolstoy?" Aksen asingnya terdengar sangat jelas.
"Leo Tolstoy ya," gumamku sambil berjalan mengitari meja kasir lalu menuju salah satu rak sementara Ia mengikutiku dari belakang. Aku berhenti di depan salah satu deretan rak lalu menoleh padanya lagi. "Buku apa yang kau butuhkan? War and Peace?" Akhir-akhir ini banyak mahasiswa sastra dan literatur yang mencari novel itu.
Ia menggeleng. "Aku sedang mencari novel Anna Karenina."
Kuambil buku yang dicarinya lalu menyodorkannya padanya. "Ini dia."
Ia masih tersenyum sambil memandangku ketika menerima buku itu. "Terima kasih."
Kuangkat kedua alisku sekilas. "Apa ada lagi buku yang ingin kau cari?"
Ia tidak menjawabku, tapi terus memandangiku. Aku berdeham untuk mengalihkan perhatiannya.
Ia berkedip beberapa kali lalu tersenyum semakin lebar. "Maaf, tapi wajahmu terlihat familiar, jadi aku berusaha mengingat di mana aku pernah melihatmu,"
Aku tertawa kecil saat mendengarnya. "Kau baru melihatku beberapa jam yang lalu. Kita bertemu di seminar yang sama," kataku sambil berjalan kembali ke belakang kasir.
Kini giliran pria itu yang tertawa, suaranya kedengaran menyenangkan. "Pantas saja wajahmu terbayang di dalam kepalaku," sahutnya. Ia berdiri di depan kasir lalu mengulurkan novel Anna Kareninanya kepadaku bersama dengan kartu kreditnya.
"Apa kau berasal dari jurusan sastra?" tanyanya saat aku membungkus bukunya.
Aku tersenyum lalu menggeleng kecil. "Aku dari jurusan sejarah."
"Oh, kupikir sastra... karena kau bekerja di sini."
Kukembalikan buku dan kartu kreditnya. "Terima kasih sudah datang," kataku, masih tersenyum. Tapi pria itu hanya berdiri di depan kasir dengan wajah ramahnya.
"Apa ada yang bisa kubantu lagi?"
"Kau belum bertanya apa jurusanku." Kedua mata birunya sedikit berkerlip seolah geli.
Aku tertawa kecil. "Okay... Apa jurusanmu?"
"Sastra."
Lama-lama aku bisa mengenali darimana aksen suaranya. "Apa kau dari Rusia? Aksenmu sangat... um, bagus."
Urgh, sebenarnya apa yang kukatakan? Aku benar-benar payah berbasa-basi. Kugigit bibirku lalu mendorong kacamataku yang sedikit merosot di hidungku. Aku bisa merasa wajahku yang memanas karena malu.
Sudut bibirnya berkedut geli lalu karena tidak tahan lagi Ia kembali tertawa, kali ini lebih panjang dari sebelumnya. "Ah, sudah lama sekali rasanya aku tidak tertawa seperti ini," gumamnya sambil mengusap salah satu sudut matanya. "Benar, aku berasal dari Rusia, St. Petersburg tepatnya."
"Oh," balasku dengan anggukan kecil.
Ia tersenyum lebar lalu mengangkat bukunya sekilas. "Kalau begitu terima kasih untuk bukunya," katanya sebelum berjalan keluar dari toko ini. Aku mengikuti punggungnya hingga Ia menghilang dari pandanganku.
Kupejamkan mataku sekilas lalu menghela nafasku. Semoga aku tidak bertemu dengannya lagi.

Volume I:
Eleanor Heather menyukai hidupnya yang biasa-biasa saja. Ia menikmati pekerjaannya sebagai akuntan sambil menyelesaikan cicilan pinjaman uang kuliah dan hidup berbagi apartemen bersama sahabatnya, Lana. Untuk yang kedua kalinya dalam hidupnya... wanita itu berhasil kabur darinya. Gregory Shaw tidak pernah berpikir Lana akan meninggalkannya lagi. Dan kali ini Ia akan memburu wanita itu, bahkan hingga ke ujung dunia sekalipun.
Bahkan jika hidup atau mati taruhannya.
