And as one day while everything was going well suddenly the space station was attacked by a cluster of asteroids because of which the space station gets totally destroyed, he ends up getting on an alien planet which is alike to planet Earth & is known as "Zarthix".

Rita's assistant and crew heard her loud remarks; they all turned to look at her directions.  One by one they raised their hand and gestures with their thumb up indicating approval, they all agreed with Rita's statement, it's a match made in heaven.

Ninoy International Airport was in full alert.   First, it was due to Claudia and Megan's escape being broadcasted all over the media; they want to ensure that the two has no way out of the Country.   Wanted posters were shown all over the news, and big rewards were offered for the captured of Claudia and Megan.

Secondly, it was for the wedding of the year that's everyone's anticipating since the day it was broadcasted a while back.  The masses knew that many famous personalities and only the cream of the crops were invited.  

Mega World Intl. Group of Company P.R. Department had invested all their resources with the promotion of the wedding.  It's a once in a lifetime event for the Group and as per Chairman Go and CEO Jeff Go order, that the event must have a Bang-Bang or they would all be dead.

The guest from all over the globes started arriving at Ninoy International Airport.  In history ever since NIA was built, they had never encountered a situation like they are having now.  Traffic jammed in the air; many incoming flights were getting diverted to another Airport to give priority for the arriving private planes.  

A couple of the airplanes almost collided in the air when one of the pilots made maneuvering error, which created a scare to the passengers of both planes.   A family member from below inside the Airport received a text message and posted it in social media.  

The caption read : [ Airplane almost collided in-the-air due to traffic congestion.  The root of the cause, wedding of the year.]  In a matter of minutes, it went viral.  Some people were upset but mostly blaming the pilot and not the couple that's about the get married.

The news of the situation at the Ninoy International Airport was broadcasted left and right.  The two top television station in the Country sent all their best of the best reporters to cover the event.  Everyone was fighting to go and cover the news, even their top newscaster who usually only stays inside the studio and report news on air.  Now wanted to go out at the field to be part of the main event.

In the meantime at the mansion with Jeff and Ann, they were discussing how they would be able to accommodate all the guest that had arrived and arriving still.  All of the hotels owned by Mega World Intl. Group of Company were utilized already along with many of their properties. Even their  Business competitors where banking money from the overflow guest and other business took the opportunity to make money from the event.

The PR and Marketing Department teamed up to create a massive advertisement for the event. Many souvenirs were being produced and sold at a high cost.  Designers after designers wanted a part of the big event and started competing who could create the best selling designs for wedding souvenirs.

One criterion for the design was a symbol with their initial must be printed to all of the models.  All the designers agreed in a heartbeat, it's a chance in a lifetime, and they would not miss this for the world.

Once all the souvenirs went on sale, Mega World Mall was fully packed.  Day in and day out, all the leading stores have something to sell that about the wedding. The economy of the Country boosted high up in the sky along with the shares of Mega World Intl. Group of Company.

The significant rise in the economy catches the attention of the President of the Country; he wanted to know who were these people that were creating a hype.  Anything or anyone that's helping the Country grows and prospers, the President always thank them personally.

While having breakfast, he read a newspaper to see what's the hype was all about.  He was stunned to see the picture of his good friend on a front page.  Grandfather Go is one of his longtime supporters, anytime he needed someone to help to raise funds for a good cause, the old man never turns his head away.

'So, the young lad is getting married, and that's what this is all about,  I wonder if the old man remembers to invite me?"  The President was thinking while enjoying his simple breakfast.

Mr. President called for his assistant to check...  A couple of minutes later, the assistant was hesitant to utter a word.  He slowly walked toward the President while tip-toe-ing, once he reaches his destination, he stands still rooted to the ground with a sullen face.

"M-Mr. P-P-President, I have bad news."  The assistant said in a shallow tone of voice, barely audible, afraid for Mr. President to hear.

Mr. President looks up from what he's doing, stared at the assistant who's sweating bullets at the moment.  "Speak up, I couldn't hear a word you're saying."

"Sir?"  The assistant acting dumb in order not to repeat what he had just said.

"I SAID...REPEAT WHAT YOU JUST SAID, I DID NOT HEAR YOU!"  Mr. President is now standing still while glaring at him with his nostril blowing fire.  "SPEAK! OR...."

The assistant rapidly informs him once again, "M-Mr. P-P-President, I have a piece of bad news.  You did not receive an invitation..."  

The president was about to say something, then he put himself into their shoes and realize that they must have a valid reason for not inviting him.  "It's fine, I understand.  You may go back to your duty."

The assistant was more than glad to leave; he wanted to see if he could obtain an invitation for the President.  The assistant could see from the eyes of the President's eyes that he wanted to attend, but he's not invited.  He would contact Chairman Go; he's a close friend of the President, it's probably only an oversight.

After the assistant left, Mr. President personally called someone equally essential to check if he received an invitation to the wedding out of curiosity.

In a Recon Space Station located near Saturn's moon, Titan. The facility was made out of your usual metal, however, it was built to withstand impacts from debris and to a limited degree projectile fire. Onboard the station was living quarters and your everyday needs such as showers and a kitchen.

This was due to the fact that some military personnel could spend as long as a few years aboard these Recon Space Stations per tour of duty.

A Federation officer with light brown hair sat at a metal desk. Upon the table was an assortment of equipment such as motion sensors, communications system and radars. He feet were sprawled out upon a clear part of the desk whilst he enthusiastically dug into his sandwich of meat and salad.

To his left, at first, he wasn't aware of the slow ping showing up on the motion sensor system. After a few seconds, he noticed it then quickly moved his seat closer to the screen.

He quickly wiped all the crumbs off of his uniform as he took a closer look at the screen before him. His expression clearly showing that he was confused by the sudden phantom ping showing up on the motion sensor.

"The hell?" he quietly spoke to himself.

The silence in the room was broken when the door behind suddenly opened up revealing to be his work colleague who's hair was an unusual dark red. The former ushered him closer to the desk so he could show him the motion sensor screen.

The dark red haired man walked over towards the main desk.

"What is it now? You better not be looking for a budget holiday whilst on work" he grunted.

"No take a look at this" his colleague pointed to the motion sensor screen. The formers expression also depicted that of confusion at what they were seeing on the screen.

"I must be some debris" he concluded.

"I don't think it is sir,"

The dark red-haired man looked towards his colleague, "Have you ran a scan yet?"

"No"

"Then do it, what are you waiting for!"

The man sat at the seat put the system through a scan once completed it showed the ping, however, this time it had changed its course to Titan itself. The whole situation was giving off bad vibes to both of the men. The dark red-haired man instantly reached for comms headset.

"Titan Federation Command this is the Titan Recon Space Station, we have picked up an unusual ping on the motion sensor system be advised"

A few seconds of static went by before someone responded on the other end.

"Negative, our sensors are clear check your source"

"We've already done that, copy over"

Another few seconds went by before he got a response on his end of the comms headset.

"Understood we're looking into it keep tracking the bogey"

The dark red-haired man sighed sounding more irritated than relieved he started to walk over towards the desk before the Recon Space Station vibrated ever so slightly and then suddenly stopped.

"Find out what that was!" he shouted to his colleagued at the desk. Who immediately started going through the various surveillance drones situated around Titan. A few moments later images of mushroom clouds emanating upon the surface of Titan filled their screen.

The looks on the men's faces were that of complete shock. Without warning, they heard the gentle rumble of what sounded like engines around as the looked out through the viewing glass before them they could see a cluster of black and green ships. Their design was alien in nature taking on unusual shapes and angles, unlike human manufactured ships.

"Holy shit," the brown-haired man muttered, "that's Terra forces how the hell did they get through!"

"I have no idea," the other man looked on clearly frightened with sweat pouring down his face "but they're here now"

"Isn't the battle group stationed at Xeres Cluster suppose to stop shit like this!" the former whined fear gradually taking over him.

The latter grabbed his colleagued by the scruff of his uniform, "It doesn't matter now! Get on the comms to Federation High Command! You understand?!"

The brown-haired man nodded vigorously instantly getting to work on securing a link between them and Federation High Command. They were interrupted by the sounds of bloodcurdling screeching and clanging upon the outer shell of the Recon Space Station.

The dark red-haired man rushed to a set of lockers situated in the corner of the room retrieving an assault rifle from the locker. He turned back toward his colleague giving a serious stern look.

"No matter what you send that message!" he ordered. Without pause, he walked towards the door before he could open it he stopped by his colleague calling out to him.

"Where the hell are you going?"

"To buy you some time" and at that, he opened the sliding door once through he locked it behind him then crushing the access key in his hand.

As for his colleague inside the room he immediately returned to what he was doing albeit his hands were shaking uncontrollably at this point. Each second that was wasted meant more lives were in the balance depending on how fast he could send this message.

As each second went by all he could do was constantly repeat to himself mentally to calm down and breath. However, as the sounds of gunfire could be heard on the other side of the door this made his heart beat tenfold as he desperately tried to complete the task he was given.

Pegasus galaxy, Wraith stronghold

It had taken weeks to reach their destination. Finally though, the Hive had arrived. The end destination was one long held in Wraith hands. During the Ancient/Wraith war, this world at the outer edge of the Pegasus galaxy had served as a fallback position while the Ancient fleet had advanced deeper into Wraith territory. Again this distant world served that very purpose once again.

The planet itself was barren, almost totally devoid of life. Life did exist here though, in some form. Lacking zpm's to power a growth facility like the one destroyed several years ago by the Atlantis expedition, a series of smaller scale facilities existed. While unable to produce new Wraith in numbers equaling larger facilities, the number of soldiers produced was still impressive. Neighboring these facilities on the cold and rocky terrain, Hives and cruisers were being grown to carry these new soldiers out into the stars.

In orbit above the planet stood an impressive sight; a mega space station of sorts. Like Wraith vessels, this station too was alive. Composed of organic biopolymers, the internal layout of the station was identical to that found onboard a Hive ship. This station however branched out in a star like pattern, allowing for up to twenty Hive's to dock simultaneously.

As the seat of power for the Wraith nation, it was here that the Queen known as The First kept her throne. As a nation in retreat, the remaining Queens maintained their presence here at the command of The First. In the throne room of the facility, cast in an eerie light through the dimly lit fog blanketing the cavernous throne rooms floor, sat The First. The assorted Queens and commanders who served her felt the gamut of emotions that surged through her mind. The reason for this was the moments before arrived commander and soldier that stood with bowed head before First.

"You expect me to believe that my followers are now being culled by the humans?" First demanded furiously.

"What the soldier beside me witnessed leaves no doubt that the Lantean's are doing that very thing my Queen." The replicator infected commander replied.

"Ridiculous." First spat with anger.

"That was my first thought as well my Queen." The commander offered.

"If the humans are in fact doing as you say, then what is the purpose of such an affront?" First inquired carefully.

"I do not know my Queen." The commander replied.

"Then tell me what you do know!" First thundered.

"Not long after our departure from the site of the culling, the humans attempted to finish what they started. In the ensuing battle both of my cruisers were lost." The commander admitted.

Moving from her throne to the commander's position with frightening speed First seized the commander by the throat. With a strength that belied her diminutive size, the Queen tightened her grasp on the commander's throat, dropping him to his knees. Relishing his discomfort, First felt the warmth of contentment as she exacted a physical toll on the subject who had failed to answer the questions she demanded. Had she been aware of the single nanite that transferred from the commander's epidermis to her feeding hand, she would have felt a range of slightly different emotions.

Standing in the operations center of the city ship, Colonel Reynolds looked down into the gate room and saw the expected device arrive through the wormhole originating in the depths of the SGC. The device resembled a lava lamp like he'd had in his room in college, the Colonel thought. Like a lava lamp, this device too would provide viewing enjoyment for whatever audience it might find. The effects of viewing a similar device was something SG-1 had once become intimately familiar, much to their chagrin.

It was technically known as a Goa'uld Light Matrix Hologram Generator. When activated, this device would fill a room with beautiful and undulating waves of shimmering violet colored light. That people were drawn to this light like a narcotic was not due to its beauty, but more to the resonating frequency pulsations that emanated from its base. After exposure to these pulsations, an effect akin to drug addiction took hold in the viewers. Leaving the devices immediate vicinity and the limited range of the pulsations resulted in withdrawal symptoms that had once resulted in the suicide of an SG team member.

In the base of the device was a system not found in the original design. Integral to the lower framework of the device stand were a series of localized sensor transceivers, and a location plotting booster. It's often said that every device no matter how big or small had a destiny. This device certainly had a particular destiny mapped out for it from its time of construction. Minutes earlier a text formatted message had been sent to Rel'dar requesting precise coordinates to deliver a gift meant to thank the Jaffa for the alliance they believed cemented with a fictitious people. The message had been very clear though that all Jaffa leaders and the captured Tauri serviceman must be in attendance when the gift arrived.

"Any word yet Bill?" Colonel Reynolds asked.

"It's coming in now. Everyone we requested be there is confirmed to attend. We also have exact coordinates to beam the device Colonel." Dr. Lee replied.

"Then let's not keep them waiting. As soon as we have confirmation that everyone is in place on their side and ours, beam the device to their location." Reynolds ordered.

The station was busy as usual. You could hear the clanking of officers, stormtroopers and maintenance staff walking somewhat stressful through the tight corridors of the central command section. I had been tasked of taking care of a few anomalies that had occurred in one of our subsectors, and I hadn't gotten much information on the subject except a few generalizations. I looked across the corridor to find the office I had been granted. Two-hundred and fifty-five, two-hundred and fifty-six, two-hundred and fifty-seven, aha, there it was, office two-hundred and fifty-eight. I walked up to the door and pulled out the keycard from my pocket, sliding it through the terminal and a green light flashed.
The door swung open and revealed my small cramped office. There was a desk, two chairs, a data terminal and a window of transparisteel through which you could see the asteroid field surrounding the station. I turned on the terminal and checked through the data-folders. "Incident 1098 Report" I clicked it and started skimming through the information. It was hard to get a solid picture of what had happened, it seemed that a Durasteel mine in the outer belts had suffered a major malfunction or possibly an attack. Pirates maybe? This wasn't really my department. I worked with the department for hyperspace anomalies, and this seemed to be a strictly Imperial navy type issue. I read further. "One of the surviving miners claim that the incident was caused by a major hyperspace anomaly" This piqued my interest, "He claims that it 'broke space itself', it is unclear what he is referring too" Maybe this is was my kind of work after all. It seemed like the subject had been in a state of shock after the incident had occurred, and the interrogators had gotten only a small amount of fractured data. The only way to get conclusive answers would be too find the miner and question him myself. There wasn't a name anywhere but I could rewrite the code into the main station archives to get the names of all involved.
I scanned the codes into the machine, and a robotic arm worked its way through the data-shards searching for the one with my referral number. The machine found it and handed it to me. I hurried back to my office to read the data into my machine. It showed a variety of names, mostly of miners and other workers in the asteroid mine. CAMDIL HASPEN: DECEASED, MARRONA GERWATE: DECEASED, the list went on with about twenty names of workers who died in the accident. JOSEGIAN PINHELL: SURVIVED, that must have been the miner that the navy questioned. He resided on the planet Xarsara in the Ansion system, only a few light-years from here.
Xarsara was a bleak world, its surface covered in steppes and little vegetation. It had a few forests of short pines and strange horse-like creatures who lived of the grass growing on the large steppes. Josegian lived in the planet's second-largest city, Yubruwei, a large, old, run-down mining city, a perfect getaway for a former miner who wanted to close himself off from the galaxy. Large rusted spires rose from old refineries since long abandoned. Large silos had turned into homes for some of the impoverished populace. But there were also high rise apartment buildings with power lines hanging between windows.
My shuttle was cleared for landing on one of the pads in the local space-port. The large shuttle gracefully locked its wings as it closed on the ground level. A puff of gas and steam shot out as the landing ramp was extended. I could sense that the planet rarely got Imperial attention, the space-port staff seemed stressed over my arrival. I was escorted by the planetary police to a hovercraft that had been waiting for me. The streets smelled of coal dust and chemicals, and the smog made it hard to see the tops of some buildings, but the stores and shops on ground levels lit up the first floors of the skyscrapers in all kinds of colours.
"Take me to the west city hab-blocks," I told the driver. As we flew through the city, I noticed that we were the only ones flying a hovercraft. "Why are we the only ones flying a speeder?" I asked the pilot who sat in front of me. "Nobody can afford such luxury here anymore, especially not now when Durallium Corp closed down. You're flying the planetary governor's speeder, it's the only one we have for-" He paused "-Imperial business". "Is that so?". As I suspected, I didn't get an answer.
The Smog grew thicker as we made our way to the western parts of the city. Here some parts of the machinery were still active and worked by the last competent miners who didn't live on the streets. "This is it, right here," I said as we flew by some large apartment blocks. The speeder landed on the street in front of the building were Josegian supposedly lived.
The Building seemed mostly abandoned. Many of the apartments were darkened and showed no signs of any inhabitants. The corridors had a yellowish eroded colour, and in some places, it was gone completely and uncovered the aluminium coating that laid under.
"Josegian Pinhell". That was the door. I knocked. Nobody answered. I knocked harder. This time a vague, weak voice answered, "Who is it? I don't want any trouble".
"I am Leodar Tritim, Imperial navy, the section for Hyperspace Anomalies, and if you don't want any trouble, I recommend you open up immediately." The door opened and I looked down on the troubled face of an older man. He was short and compactly built, had pasty long grey hair and brown eyes. He missed two fingers on his left hand and in the other, he held a cup of some heated drink. "Please, come in an officer, have a seat." I walked through one of the doors and hanged of my large grey officer's coat on a hook conveniently placed in the walkway.
"Do you want anything to drink? Will you be in town for long?" Josegian asked he seemed a rather wholesome man, living a decently comfortable existence in this forgotten part of the Empire. "No, I don't need anything. I'm just here to ask a few questions". What questions, am I in trouble? are my sons in any bad business?" The short man answered concerned. "No, I can assure you that nobody is in any danger, I'm here to talk about the incident". "Oh yes, the incident of course." "Now please sit down Josegian"
We sat down at one of the tables. To the left of me was a large window, viewing an old Industry area, filled with pipes, tubes and other machines. "Now Josegian, what can you recall of the day of the incident?" "Oh, it was a long day, I was very tired, hadn't slept properly for days, but my cleaning work was done as usual". "What events can you remember leading up to the failure". "I have told you many times! It wasn't a 'failure' it was a deliberate attack!". "Yes I know, of course, it was an attack Josegian, but what happened before it occurred?". "I… I remember I suddenly felt very uneasy. Like there was something wrong, and then, oh god… there was a light, a strange light, it wasn't nothing natural you see, it was…" Josegian looked out of the window, seemingly disconnected from the dialogue. "Yes Josegian, what light" I noted important keywords into my data-terminal. Josegian snapped out of it. "There were colours of all sorts, the station was covered in it. I remember I ran to one of the windows to see what all the fuss was about, and that's when I saw it". He was remembering it very vividly I could see, his face changing as he was rushed by emotion "Go on" I said eagerly.
"It was like a hole had been torn in space itself… Like a gate had been opened to hyperspace. It felt very unnatural. And from this hole, this rift, that's were all the light came from. And that's when I first saw it. Something monstrous came out of the tear, it resembled a ship in some ways, but it rather had the size of a station. It was unfathomable, covered in ornamental spikes and arches, and there were statues of men with blades engraved into the hull. It looked like some sort of religious temple rather than a starship. And the engines, oh, they roared and shot flames of chrome. They burned and screamed and it seemed to shake us even on the mining station. And when it came all the way through the rift, it closed behind it. Now it was cloaked in the shadows of space. You could only see those enormous engines burning and glittering. That's... that's when I decided to flee, you see, I was scared Leodar, I was so scared". The man started sobbing uncontrollably. "Collect yourself Josegian". He looked up at me, tears running down his wrinkled cheeks. "Collect yourself". "I… I left them there… With that… abomination… to die".

This story follows the journey of an aspiring officer of the Imperial Navy as he pursues the case of the lost mining station.

At its peak, the Roman Empire territories were big enough to make the Mediterranean Sea a continental sea. After ancient Rome fell, until the Earth's disappearance, Europe has never come under unified rule again."
"The Roman Empire fell in the fifth century."
"Yes, in fact, Rome was already splintering in the fourth century. During the invasion by barbarians, the Roman Empire collapsed under the hands of the Germanic people, the Xiongnu, and the Goths. That was the first large-scale human migration in history." Tomcat placed the bottles on the floor as it continued. "Rome never recovered from that, and Europe plunged into a thousand years of war. Citizens became farming slaves, and the Church controlled the thoughts of the people, forbidding the discussion of philosophy and the arts."
"Is that considered a retrogression?" Mai Dong asked.
"History moves upward in a spiral of negations." Tomcat paused. "Miss Mai Dong, humans can take the wrong path at times, but they will not do so all the time. In engineering, this is called negative feedback control."
"Isn't the Middle Ages the Dark Ages?" Tang Yue's voice sounded over the comms. "The Church waged wars against enemies of the faith and declared all of them heretics. They were then burned at the stake, isn't that so? I recall my primary school textbook mentioning Bruno and Copernicus."
"In that case, you should learn to stop viewing problems from the angle of a primary school textbook."
"Anyway, those cheats didn't have a good reputation," Tang Yue quipped. "As a Chinese who follows materialism, I'm innately born with a buff to criticize religion."
"The way the school textbooks framed it, makes you view it as a conflict between religion and science, but that's a very superficial take on matters," Tomcat explained. "The Church wasn't viewing science with animosity most of the time; in fact, it was the opposite. Many of the members of the Church were proficient in both mathematics and astronomy. The most famous and great physicist, Isaac Newton was a theologian himself. Newton spent twenty years working on mathematics, but he spent his entire life studying theology. He deeply believed in the existence of God.
"But in that era, few scholars could be free from the Church's influence because the schools they attended were established by the Church," Tomcat continued. "Even in the Middle Ages with wars waging constantly in Europe, the commoners received very low levels of education. From an objective perspective, religious organizations took on the responsibility of spreading and proliferating culture… even though they could teach how many angels could dance on the head of a pin."
"What use is teaching that kind of stuff?"
"From the Middle Ages to more modern Europe, there wasn't anything like the 'Strategy of Invigorating China Through Science and Education' or how development is the cardinal principle." Tomcat got up. "Philosophy and science were only the hobbies of the rich. Apart from helping the king calculate the angle of his garden's fountain or estimating the trajectory of a cannon, do you think mathematics and physics can be used on potatoes?"
"Ignorant Europeans." Tang Yue shook his head.
"Asians of the same era were busy studying, hoping to take the imperial examinations. Towards the end of the Qing dynasty, the Empress Dowager even dabbled with horse-drawn railways. Superficially, she's the earliest Marxist Leninist in China," Tomcat said indifferently. "How much better was that?"
Tang Yue dragged out the solar panels from the garage, while the Mars Wanderer was parked inside for charging.
It had fallen into a hole the last time Tomcat had driven the Wanderer out to seek the Chelomey, causing it to suffer major damage. The front of the vehicle had warped, and all the glass had shattered. Now, the Wanderer was like an open car. All that was left of the driving compartment was a frame. Sitting in the driver's seat gave a good view, but it was open air.
Every day, Mai Dong would discuss history and humanities with Tomcat. They would go from Macedonia to ancient Rome to Carthage. Tang Yue rarely had a chance to interject; after all, he was terrible at history and was only able to applaud to liven things up.
With Tomcat around, crudely recording history wasn't a very difficult task.
However, once things developed deeper, even Tomcat didn't have an answer. Most of the outstanding questions in history remained unsolved, and Tomcat wasn't a historian. All it could do was regurgitate the research findings of others.
It was very easy to stump Tomcat. For instance, Tang Yue would often ask such questions: 
"Was Jianwen Emperor burnt to death?
"What really happened with the conspiracy story 'shadows by the candle and sounds from an ax?' Was Emperor Taizu murdered by his brother?
"If the peasants didn't revolt, would the Manchus still be in power?"
Tomcat would be left dumbfounded.
Documents consisting of hundreds of thousands of words had been digitized and broadcast by the space station's antenna. Digitally encoded information couldn't contain as much information as text, so the broadcast time spanned an even longer amount of time.
As for the automatic interpretation system, it was equivalent to a cipher book that allowed decoding. Just like the Rosetta Stone, beings that received the information could use it to decode the original text. The broadcast information would contain the automatic interpretation system within the content itself. Back when they were designing the automatic interpretation system, Tomcat had considered whether to use Chinese or English. As Chinese had a huge word bank, and logograms made it difficult to divide, to attempt an easy conversion from numbers to Chinese characters with a simple automatic interpretation system was just too difficult. Therefore, Tomcat eventually used the English alphabetical system.
This also meant that intelligent lifeforms who received the signal could restore the content in English.
After Earth's disappearance, the final language transmitted into the cosmos was ultimately English.
However, the documents stored on the hard disks were in Chinese. Tang Yue and Mai Dong had written the epitaph for the human civilization using Chinese.

"Miss Mai Dong, do you have any free time over the next two days?"
At noon, Tang Yue and Tomcat were resting inside Kunlun Station. The former was having his meal, and as usual, it was compressed biscuits mixed with some sugar-pickled tomatoes with a cup of water. Mai Dong was also eating. She had a piece of bread.
"Oh? Time? How long?"
"At least four hours," Tomcat answered. "We need you to head out to check the Eagle's Ascent Vehicle's heat-resistant tiles."
Tomcat had accepted Tang Yue's suggestion. The Eagle was the only vessel that wouldn't disintegrate during the atmospheric entry. In this desperate situation, it was the only hope. However, they needed to guarantee that nothing was wrong with the heat-resistant tiles on the lander. Therefore, inspecting them was the first step.
It was impossible to do the inspection indoors, so Mai Dong needed to head out.
Forced by circumstances, Tomcat was actually going to use a condemned spacecraft.
"Check the Eagle?" Mai Dong was surprised before she slowly nodded. "Head out? Sure. I'm free to do so anytime. It just so happens that the space station's S1 solar panel's revolving mechanism has some problems. It's not rotating very smoothly, so I'll be able to solve it at the same time."
"There's something wrong with the solar panel?" Tang Yue looked up with biscuit crumbs in his mouth as he appeared nervous.
"It's a common malfunction. The computer has done a self-check. It says that a sensor was disconnected. Changing a wire should do the trick." Mai Dong was also eating biscuits. After taking a bite of the compressed biscuits, she sucked the water blob that was floating in front of her. "It's a usual case of wear and tear of the wiring. There's no need to worry."
The Mars United Space Station had been in operation for years. There weren't any major problems, but there was no end to the minor ones. Usually, the astronauts would fix it, heading out to switch out components and materials. It was considered a daily mission.
"Then, you should have a good rest later. Ensure you have enough stamina," Tomcat instructed. "We will begin twelve hours from now. When the time comes, I'll give you detailed instructions."
Mai Dong nodded.
"Alright, got it."


Payload specialist, Tang Yue, who is a mechanical and electrical engineer by training, is left stranded on Mars when he receives news from his AI robot assistant, Tomcat, that Earth has exploded. He believes himself to be the last human in the Universe.
Turns out, he is only the last man in the Universe. Botanist, Mai Dong, had been left on the United Space Station (USS) orbiting Mars, to await Tang Yue's ascent to the USS before they make their journey back to Earth. But now, it's impossible.
Join the trio's quest for survival as they attempt to unravel the mystery of Earth's disappearance.

On their way back to the shuttle bay, they encountered several dangerous situations. Most of the time, Ves and his group only reached the aftermath of a violent incident. People as well-armed as them gunned down the pirates that were stupid enough to get in their way.
Different gangs clashed against each other over when one gang revealed they supported the Hellvoice. Fights between these gangs lasted the longest and led to the most frigid butchering.
Overworked cleaning bots worked overtime to haul away the bodies and clean up the blood. It didn't help that their programming malfunctioned a few times due to the sheer amount of bodies in the way.
Sometimes, the larger cleaning bots mistook living people as corpses, brutally grabbing onto their bodies with razor-sharp pincers and lifting them off in the air as their very living bodies floundered in pain!
The smaller bots on the other hand swarmed by the dozens! They converged at the ankles of people who had waded through the pools of blood and aggressively wiped or sucked away the traces, not even caring if their cleaning routines penetrated straight through the clothes and broke through human skin!
Something very horrendous ensued at that point. The wounds inevitably started to bleed, which put the stupid bots into a supercharged cleaning mode. They intensified their cleaning routines and practically bore through the ankles until the hapless victims couldn't stand any longer!
Upon falling, the bots kept chewing away at their unprotected flesh, their simple artificial minds only fixated on cleaning blood, no matter if it came from a dead or living source!
"What the hell?!" Ketis stammered as her armored foot kicked a pair of small cleaning bots down the corridor. Her sights firmly fixated on the runaway bots and their misguided attempt to clean the space station by cleaning the blood-soaked humans that polluted the the place. "This.. someone should shut them off!"
"It won't work." Nolsen said. "I've already ran my military-grade automatic hacking module on them. Though they look rather cheap, their security suites are impenetrable to me. My guess is that the Boseys were tired of script kiddies hacking the bots to change their programming so they can pull off a prank. They invested heavily in upgrading their software security."
"This doesn't look like a normal malfunction." Ves observed with suspicion. "Any manufacturer of cleaning bots will program their products to ignore living humans. In fact, they should go out of their way to avoid them in the first place to prevent any harm!"
"Well, unless I'm mistaken, these bots have become man eaters now. Look at how they're dissolving that poor guy in highly-acidic cleaning solution!"
Unless a skilled professional hacker was around, these bots would continue to follow their faulty programming!
Ves truly had no clue what was going on. Did some malfunction cause the bots to get stuck in a faulty logic loop, or had some nefarious super hacker twist the programming of the bots as a deliberate attempt at sabotage?
Personally, he leaned towards a case of vandalism gone deadly. Perhaps some juvenile trickster had introduced a tiny error in their programming regarding their treatment of living humans and kept it buried there for some time.
Whatever the case, they needed to be destroyed before they could do more damage! The horrified screams of hapless station visitors already seared his mind with nightmares.
"Nolsen, take down the bots if you can! If we can't hack them, we can kill them instead!"
The security officers didn't argue and immediately opened fire. They mainly fired penetrative kinetic rounds in order to pierce through the tough exterior that protected the bots from kicking and other acts of vandalism.
Sometimes, the projectiles overpenetrated the bots and hit the humans cowering behind, but the Vandals took little mind of these slip ups. They already did their best trying to minimize the collateral damage.
Half a minute later, their weapons ceased firing. Around forty bots lay prone and steaming with several new holes decorating their shells.
They conveniently ignored the dying and the wounded. In any case, it was up to the Boseys to provide medical help.
"There are no more obstacles in the way. Let's continue moving."
They stepped past the dead, dying and wounded as if it didn't concern them at all. Ves had long lost his empathy for random strangers, let alone the folk who frequented the Independent Harbor.
Anyone willing to visit a hive of scum and villainy was either a scum or a villain!
A part of him felt bad for generalizing the entire population of the space station this way, but Ves really couldn't bring himself to care. His mind had already been doused in the blood of the frontier, changing his perspective closer to the standard of the frontier.
Amidst the untamed stars, there wasn't any distinguishment between the guilty and the innocent! The only difference that mattered was whether someone was strong or weak!
As they stepped past hordes of bots that ran out of control, the Vandals destroyed them all with extreme prejudice. Ves and Ketis didn't even have the opportunity to bring their own weapons to bear, as the exoskeleton soldiers proved to be brutally efficient at wiping out the erratic bots.
As they rounded the corner of another street, they inadvertently stumbled upon a pacification attempt by the Boseys!
Armed with exoskeleton armor that was just as deadly as those worn by the Vandal security officers, they fired off their electrorods with casual disregard, as if they didn't care if their electric weapons misfired and arced towards a bystander to the side!
Their rifles and wrist-mounted gun barrels blasted the rioting crowd of pirates with a variety of ballistic projectiles and laser beams. One powerful laser cannon raked half of the crowd with a saber-like beam!
The weapon immediately overheated, but the shock it gave to the survivors had been enough to break their drunken and drug-fueled courage!
"Run! The Boseys are gonna kill us all!"
"Ravienne will hear about this, Bosey dogs! She'll come down on your stupid space station like the wrath of a battleship!"
None of the wailings of the pirates mattered. By now, the only people on the street consisted of trouble makers aiming to force the Boseys into reversing their gambling losses. After losing their entire savings, they pretty much had nothing to lose!
The saner and more careful pirates as well as the treasure hunters and the other visitors all scurried off into one of the many shops and venues before they all barricaded up their entrances.
Naturally, Ves and his escorts formed the exception, because they really needed to return to their shuttle. Whatever the case, the odds were high that the Boseys might paint everyone on the streets with the same brush.
Ves cursed again. "Damnit, let's back off before they shoot us! We can't get into a fight against the entire Bosey Clan!"
They hustled out of the place before the trigger-happy Boseys could direct their weapons in the direction of the Vandals. Ves figured the heavily-armored Boseys already spotted them, but let them go because they were a tough bone to chew.
"Let's follow an alternate route!"
They took a small detour, only to run head-long into a bot apocalypse. They entered a former market plaza centering around a fountain and a sculpture of some self-important Bosey elder.
Such an idyllic location was usually the favorite of romantics and young adults. Now, the entire plaza along with the fountain had been drenched with endless amounts of blood and body parts. More than a hundred bots both large and small performed gruesome butchery on the helpless populace!
"Uh oh, the bots noticed us!"
A quarter of the bots immediately diverted from their dead or screaming prey and moved towards the blood-soaked newcomers. Somehow, the blood splattered on their armor was more enticing to these bots than the fresh blood pouring from the wounds of their helpless victims!
"Don't open fire yet, Nolsen! And you, Ketis, hold your horses and don't swing that sword!"
They could handle a hundred bots, but how many more did they have to destroy? Their ammunition stores only lasted up to a point, and killing these bots was futile as Ves estimated that Mancroft may be hosting up to a hundred-thousand of these machines!
Ves had been so engulfed by the massacres perpetrated by the bots that he almost forgot that they were dealing with bots!
What was a bot? It was an automated machine that ran on pre-programmed instructions. They were often built as cheaply as possible as they broke down fairly often for some inane reason or another. A place like the Mancroft Independent Harbor had no reason to commission high-quality, durable and expensive bots because their own visitors would steal them if that was the case!
Thus, the only threat they faced were cheap, mass-produced bots assembled out of the cheapest parts possible. The only part of value to these bots was their sturdy, vandalism-proof outer shell.
Ves retrieved one of his newly fabricated tools from his toolbelt. The jamming device he fashioned out of his own two hands was a far cry to the one demonstrated by Calabast back at Harkensen I, but it should still do the job at a given range.
"I've got a jamming device that should work effectively against these bots. Their programming might be airtight, but their crappy sensors shouldn't be that good considering they bump into people's feet all the time. Gather within four meters around me if possible."
This proved to be rather difficult as the huge exoskeleton suits really didn't leave much margin for error. Still, they squeezed tightly enough for all of them to be within effective range.
"Alright, I'm about to activate the jamming device! Make sure your suits are hardened against jamming interference and you don't have any fancy systems active! Make sure you switch your visor viewing mode from electronic to optical!"
It wouldn't do to blind his own guards, though Ves doubted the ECM-hardened exoskeleton armor could be affected by a handheld jammer. That was also one of the reasons why he urgently sought to upgrade its power supply with an ultracompact battery!
"Three, two, one, get ready!"
A nauseating field of what felt like supercharged static electricity came into being around the jamming device. The little thing hummed and vibrated even as it emitted an invisible field of electronic mud and fog.
"Will this even work, teacher?"
"Be patient! Don't attack yet!"
The bots that hovered within range neared the four-meter mark. Even before they crossed the line, several already veered off like drunken pirates! The closer they approached, the higher the odds of them going blind!
"It works! The jamming device messes with their sensors and other unhardened systems!"
Everyone breathed a little easier, though Ves noted that the pitiful standard battery of his device wouldn't last very long. He activated a function on his light combat armor, which caused its palm to heat up slightly.
If the tiny battery couldn't supply enough power, then Ves just had to supplement it with his suit power!
"Ignore the bots and pass through them. We don't have to address those dumb machines anymore!"
With the jamming device working its magic, their progress sped up at least threefold. The prevalent amount of bots scouring for blood managed to sniff out the solidifying blood that splattered their armor suits, but whenever they got near, they turned into complete idiots!
One of the downsides was that their cargo bot completely malfunctioned as well! The jamming field was simply too strong for the simple and basic floating bot. Ves heartlessly abandoned the useless bot and dug up his lockbox guarding his exotics from the pile of nutrient packs.
"Let's go!"
They ran through a field of blind and confused cleaning bots. The Vandal security officers managed to kick all of the bots out of the way before Ketis could use her legs to good effect!
"We've almost reached the right pier! The shuttle bay is just ahead!"
The health checkpoint that usually barred the way to visitors bearing infectious diseases had been completely blasted open. The group ran past the destroyed barriers and obstructions. If some kind of infectious disease was spreading around, well, at least their airtight suits of armor kept them safe!
They finally reached the end of the station proper. At this point, they passed beyond the main body of the space station and stepped into one of the exterior modules extending at a perpendicular angle from the surface of the station.
Bosey custom officers already secured the area here. They gunned down rioting pirates and rioting bots alike. The defensive forces formed a defense cordon that enabled each visitor to run back to their shuttles without worrying about being shot at by random thugs or chomped at their legs by rampaging bots.
"We're here!"
Ves could finally turn off his jamming device before it drained his entire suit battery.


Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop that his father painstakingly built with a mountain of debt, Ves somehow needs to make ends meet with the bank breathing down his neck.

In the midst of his despair, he found salvation from another legacy his father had left.

"Welcome to the Mech Designer System. Please design your new mech."

Gregory pulled hard backwards, flipping his jet body to be vertical, the wind hitting him hard. Hammy hesitated as he watched him zip by from above. Gregory flipped his jet, making his nose fall back downwards, pointing directly at Hammy. 

"Goodbye..."

A single missile exploded from underneath his nose, directly going toward where Hammy would be. He knew there was no slowly down at that speed. Hammy let go of his steering handles as the missile hit the back of his fin. 

Gregory did not smile as he watched the fire consume Hammy's jet. He was quickly zooming toward his team leader. 

Sky winced as he saw the notification that Hammy was out for the count. It was now two on one, the advantage would still be in his favor for thirty more seconds. Rotary made a wide turn as he guessed Sky would follow him, he did with a second thought. Gregory fell in line behind Sky, sandwiching him between them. 

Rotary laughed, "No where to go now Talisman, and no dirty tricks."

Sky bit his lip as he locked on to Rotary. The thought of seeing his enemy explode brought him relief but the chance of Gregory firing right after made him dispose of it. It was now whoever shot first but for Sky, it was whoever shot last.

Sky tried to turn but Gregory was already aligned to stop him. He was out, no way for him to best his opponents. 

Gregory clicked his comm, "Do I fire?"

Rotary smiled as he passed by the viewing window, a wave at the High Emblem spectators, "Blow him away."

Sky held his breathe as he heard the sound of activating a missile. He gripped his helmet as he searched for a way out, a way to win. Then, time slowed as a single thought crossed his mind. 

"Fuck Sky, you are a crazy mother fucker!"  
He yelled at himself before gripping a red handle to his left. Sky pulled it with all his might, the parachute for his jet deploying. Sky braced himself as his jet was ripped away from where he was. The parachute yanking him with devastating force. The missile Gregory fired, barley missed his back engine. All went silent as a grin formed on Sky's face. He cut the chute by flipping another small switch, his jet recorrecting behind Gregory. Rotary screamed as the same missile that missed Sky hit the back engine, his jet exploding. The joy of it bringing Sky to his senses, the g-force he felt shaken away. 

Gregory lost his deep low voice as he said one more line before he was locked on too.

"Fuck you Sky Talisman." 

His ship was dispersed, debris falling like fireworks.

Amari felt her heart flutter as the the fire died out and cheers filled the viewing room. The High Emblem spectators clapped professionally while the students jumped up and down.

"That was so cool!"

"I knew Yellow team would win!"

"Better hand over the money."

Grace sighed as she leaned on her hip, "I guess I can't always be right."

Amari was silent as she watched the last standing jet circle back around to a loading area. Her heart was still racing from the action. 

"I think you understand why piloting is so amazing, it isn't just who flys the best but who can outsmart their enemy."

Amari smiled at Grace, "That was something to witness, I feel so exhausted just from watching."

Grace also grinned, "Imagine how the pilot feel, that guy must be toast."

The robotic guide spoke over the cheers, "Now take a left to view the hangers."

Amari and Grace fell back in with their class, "Now we have the boring part of the trip." Grace said, her shoulder slouching over.

"Holy shit Sky, that was some flying."
Hammy raced over to Sky. His brown hair exploded out as he removed his helmet, 

"I'm sooooo tired Hammy."

Sky almost tripped as he entered the building, Marcus sitting on a bench a few feet away. The glass doors slid shut as Hammy followed. 

"What did I tell you rookie, full proof plan."
Sky said as he set his helmet down on the silver bench. 

"Was Hammy getting eliminated part of it?"

Hammy rolled his eyes and threw his helmet, Marcus barley catching it, "Shut up rookie, it was part of the plan!"

Marcus held up his hands defensively, "I was joking."

Sky plopped down on the bench, "Jesus, I can't wait to see Rotary's face."

Hammy also sat down, "I bet he can wait to see yours."

"Okay Leo, are you ready?" Proffesor Goodman watched carefully as his most intelligent and most dangerous student stood up from his desk. 

"I um, yes I am..."

Leo was just a short skinny kid with pale skin. He had crazy brown hair and blue eyes behind black rimmed glasses. Those same eyes that literally threatened the existence of Red Ace,for a science project. His mind was beyond most, but somehow he seemed so normal and shy, most unaware of his latent talent to create weapons of mass destruction. 


Each student also watched with unsure eyes, the last time he presented a project, the teacher disappearing into the Quantum realm. 

Professor Goodman scooted over from where he sat, finding himself on the edge of his silver desk. 

"Uh, hello everyone, my name is Leo Landrid, I am going to present.... my project for ridding space of trash."

The class clapped slowly as Leo awkwardly bowed before taking out a single slick object.

"Uh, this here is called the Be Gone, I came up with it myself." 

Goodman's serious face loosened for a little bit. Leo might have one of the most interesting minds, but naming was not his cup of tea, most of his inventions falling short in that category. 

"What is this invention, and why should it be mass produced for Space cleanup."

Leo pushed his glasses up, his sharp eyes searching around the room, 
"Um, well you see, the Be Gone is an invention that solves the trash epidemic in one fall swoop."

Leo walked over to Professor Goodman, who instinctively backed away. The boy reached for the silver trash can, "may I?"

Goodman nodded before fixing his tie.

"As you all see, we have here a waste bin..."

No one spoke or clapped, a slight cough in the back row.

"Well the Be Gone has three settings, you can make a small object disintegrate, a larger one, or multiple."

Everyone stopped listening, 
"Wait right there Mr. Landrid, did you say, disintegrate?"

Leo nodded before clicking a groove on the metal box he pulled out.  A chaotic red beam of energy shot out and hit the trash bin, a flash of white taking up the entire room. 

Every one flinched and dove for cover, Professor Goodman already behind his desk.

"And as you can see, the trash bin is gone."

Leo gestured to the black marks on the tile floor where the bin use to be, his invention working flawlessly.

Professor Goodman looked on in fear and awe, 
"M-M-Mr. Landrid, the project was to present a simple fix, not create the invention entirely..."

Leo slightly laughed, his eyes staring at the ground, "what is the point of just having a model, the real thing is way more engaging." 

The other students rose from their hiding places, unsure of how to react. 

"Well please remove that invention from existence, such a machine could be used for other means besides trash."

"I suppose that could be arranged..."
Leo kept his gaze away from the crowd as he walked, then suddenly his sneaker slipped on the black marks he created. The Be Gone hit the ground, the setting switching to multiple targets. Four red beams shot from the box, one heading for Professor Goodman. 

Goodman was barley able to pull a clipboard up in time, it evaporating in his hands. 
Three lasers connected with a book, a chair, and the entirety of an oval desk, the items crumbling to nothingness.

"Oh, it seems I may have acc-"

Professor Goodman pointed to the door, "Please get out and go talk to Captain Allen, I will inform him of the previous event."

Leo grimily smiled before picking up the Be Gone and placing it in his lab coat pocket, 

"I guess I'll see myself out."

The Galaxy known as Nowhere is one filled with space exploration, galactic battles, rising empires, and traversing planets with unknown dangers. However an unlikely group of six will have to journey through perils unknown to save the galaxy they so desperately want to explore someday from being completely destroyed.

Soon enough, everyone was gathered around Veronicas capsule. When her ship exploded her body had shot into space from the impact. Thankfully we were able to spot her and used Centurys collecting arm to grab her. However it didn't take a genius to figure out that underneath her suit she suffered multiple internal injuries. Her long black hair was neatly placed around her face and purple hyacinths surrounded her. A light scratch went from her chin, down her neck and disappeared underneath her suits collar. Trent gave a speech about how good of a friend she was to him and how thoughtful she was to to others. Sara talked about how great of a worker she was; always diligent and head strong. Dylan explained to us how they first met in school and had the same dreams. 

I wasn't the closest to Veronica but nevertheless her death still saddened me. We all had the same dream to continue humanity and we're all passionate about it. I don't believe in a higher being but I know that she did. I hope she found comfort after death.

A while passed before I was broken from my trance to initiate the fire sequence. Since we're the first Elders on the Century exploration, we get cremated to have our ashes displayed on a wall for future generations; a way for us to live on and be honored after colonization. I looked at everyone else in the room and when my head nodded we said in unison "Your journey is over, may we meet in your next life." My fingers pressed into the button and Veronicas body slowly went into the wall and was encapsulated with fire. Although we could only see the hyacinths through the viewing window, we stared at them burning to ash. When we were in training, we had to pick out our metal urns for when our time came. Veronicas urn was a light gold color with pictures of nature surrounding it. 

"I'll be putting her ashes into her urn in a few hours if anyone would like to be there." I stated as my friends cried. I've dealt with many deaths in my life so it got hard to cry over the years. I lead the way to the cafeteria for us to have some drinks and food. 

After about an hour I took my fourth and last shot. I don't normally drink but when I think about how I almost died how Veronica died, my anxiety over life becomes overwhelming and my work gets messy. I became a doctor to help people because if it was me, I wouldn't want to never see trees or butterflies or my friends again. Perhaps if there was an afterlife I believed in I'd be more hopeful, but what God would let the Earth that they created go to chaos and destruction. 

I sat in my spacious workroom, glancing at Veronicas chamber while filing and writing statements for her death for our colony and Centuries history. Sara walked in with furry little Kai in her arms; her black hijab matching perfectly to his color. "I thought you could use some company and cuddles.." Sara said as I received my new little baby boy into my arms. "You always know how to cheer me up." I replied with a little smile. Sara and Kristie were the only ones who know about my massive anxiety over dying. It's the reason I almost didn't get accepted into Century. Over years of training for space, I proved them time and time again that I'd give my life to save anothers. I motioned for Sara to sit and she happily obliged. "I don't think the others will be coming, they're far too drunk to leave the cafeteria." She giggled out as Kai jumped to the floor by my feet. Of course, because of her religion, she doesn't drink alcohol. Something I'd never be able to do. I walked to our safely packed urn storage and removed Veronicas eternal home. I opened up her capsule and carefully swept her ashes into the urn as Sara watched, a few feet away. I tightened up the lid and walked back to the storage to put her back safely. Sara hugged me before going back to her station to begin our journey. I walked to my room with Kai at my feet and a camera in my hands. At this time, Earth should be in view from my room and I wanted to get one last picture of it before takeoff.

Closing the door behind me, I walked to the screens on the wall that showed Earth, however, it looked a lot different than when we left it. The fires were worse, the atmosphere was mostly smoke and dust, the water was dark from pollution, the ice was barely visible, and there were no green spots left to be seen. I snapped a photo and tucked Kai into our bed. 

I changed into my official Century uniform and started my way to the bridge to begin our new life.

Muru's encounter had Hao Ren come to grips with the unusualness of the incident. The Umbral Realm he had been searching for all this time finally surfaced.
Muru received the distress signal from other guardians in meditation. However, this signal came from a place where it had theoretically fallen into the Umbral Realm with the Star of Creation. If the message was not forged, there was only one answer: the Umbral Realm and the main universe was connected again.
"I'm sure the signal is genuine," said Muru, dismissing Hao Ren's last bit of doubt. "Guardians have a special telepathic ability, designed by our mother. Unless another god was faking it, otherwise I was unlikely to have received a false signal."
Hao Ren looked serious. "Can you determine the coordinates of the source of the signal? Is the Gate of Solenne still in its place?"
"The position has changed, in a place that is unknown to me," Muru said as he took out a black metal device. "Maybe the big bang moved the Gate of Solenne to another part of the universe. It may also be that the galaxy is moving on its mysterious trajectory. The source of the signal is very unusual. I only recognized the keyword 'Solenne' from a ciphertext that only the guardian could read. It is the information I have recorded down, but I don't know if your device can convert it into a navigation signal."
"There's nothing that my equipment cannot decode. It's just a matter of time." Hao Ren nodded, motioning Lily to take over the recording device from Muru.
It was a device the giants used, just the size of the palm of Muru, but it was almost the size of a human. Lily took the recorder and held it on her head; it looked as if a coffin had grown a pair of legs when viewing from a distance.
This husky was obedient though.
Hao Ren and Lily sent the recorder to the CARS, connected it to the mainframe of the space station and started analyzing the data. He found that the coordinates contained in the recorder were very vague and had a peculiar mathematical structure. It was because there was an error in converting mental signals into machine-readable numerical coordinates. On the other hand, these giants used unique encoding method. The space station mainframe was capable of processing the data, but it took a bit of time.
When the mainframe began to process the data, Hao Ren returned to Muru. They stood on a hill on the west side of Alamanda and overlooked at the rolling land. Lily moved like an agile little monkey up Muru's stick and gazed into the distance. "Whoa! It's all built up. I remember the mountain over there was still a wasteland the last time I came."
Hao Ren didn't pay attention to what Lily was saying. He was instead wondering if cats would lose their advantage since dogs could climb a tree like a monkey now.
Afraid of the height after staying up on the stick for a while, Lily came back down. She then pulled Hao Ren's sleeve. "Mr. Landlord! I saw a city on the other side of the lake! The architectural style doesn't look like that of Tannagost!"
"That is a Zormian settlement. It is still not a city yet, but it is developing fast." The voice of Muru rumbling from above. "There are many such new towns around Alamanda, and people are recovering from the blood pool of the town every day. Do you want to take a look?"
Before Hao Ren could say anything, Y'lisabet jumped to her feet and said, "Yeah, let's go and take a look. Uncle Ren, shall we?"
"That's a good idea." Hao Ren nodded and smiled. "Maybe we would meet someone we know."
Muru brought them to the newly emerging town near the 'spring of life' and stayed outside the town because of his size while Hao Ren and the others ventured into the town by themselves. There were simple houses well-arranged on an open space. Some of these houses were built using the materials taken from the surrounding environment, and some were like industrially produced houses. As the settlement was still expanding, there were no walls and clear boundaries, but there was a watchtower-like operated platform at a regular interval along the edge of the town.
All the roads and grounds in the city were just flat muddy land; few places were paved with plastic-like synthetic materials. There were no advanced urban facilities. Road signs were painted wooden boards, and street lamps used wooden stakes with oil pots. Water supply came from drilled wells and open-air ditches. Everything seemed primitive and straightforward, but the system design was carried out with modern ideas in mind. It was the odd fusion of advanced and primitive civilizations, and the mixture of modern bungalows and stone cottages made this oddity even more profound. Hao Ren felt as if he had walked into a time-warped stage drama, but he thought that probably this was the scene of the recovery of civilization under certain circumstances.
A highly civilized race equipped with advanced technology had to rebuild everything from a primitive society.
The people of Zorm were lucky though. At least, they had the initial supplies of simple industrial products. Hao Ren recognized some of these things, which the factory that he left on the planet had produced. Many other things might be salvaged from the nearby ruins of Tannagost. For example, the pale gold synthetic cover on the outer wall of a dwelling, which was unique to the ruins of the Tannagost.
Residents in the town soon discovered the visiting guests. There were several men in rags walking towards Hao Ren. Seeing them from a distance, Hao Ren suddenly sighed. "To tell the truth, this is the first time I saw Zorm people in real life."
He then took the MDT out of his pocket and transferred Nolan's holographic image from the spacecraft before him. Nolan's figure appeared above the MDT, only one and a half size larger than Lil Pea. She was clueless as they why Hao Ren had summoned her here. "Hao Ren? Is there something? I am doing maintenance for my engines."
"Nolan, come and see your compatriots. It is the new town of Zorm. The people have entered the real world en masse."
Nolan looked around the town through the eyes of the MDT. After a long while, she said in an indifferent tone of voice, "I don't have feelings towards them; I'm just an AI. I have never lived in the real world. Am I their compatriot?"
The MDT scoffed, "You care?"
At this time, a few men in worker suits came before Hao Ren. They first were awed by the height of Y'zaks and the projection device beside Hao Ren, and then speculated on the identity of the visitors. "You are the lord?"
The planet of Tannagost-Zorm had become one of the bases of Hao Ren while the Zorm people who rebuilt their homes on this planet were naturally his people. In the old days when the social order collapsed utterly, and humans broke up and reorganized, those who woke up early had decided that they should accept the authority of the planet's master, and it was not just the decision of a few but also the will of the Zormian First Born.
The will of Zormian First Born carried weight as it had a significant influence on this civilization.
The Zorm people who had awakened from the virtual world already knew what happened to their home planet. Deep inside, they still could not understand and accept that the disaster had occurred. As painful as the reality was, they did not complain but chose the pragmatic way of rebuilding their society. Most people recognized hao Ren's authority on the planet although he did not seem to have very involved in the reconstruction effort. The AI ​​of CARS, MDT and the two guardians here were more than capable of handling everything here.
Hao Ren realized that he needed to at least say something. Hurriedly, he nodded and tried not to look stupid. "Yes, I am. I'm here to check out the situation."
As he spoke, he wondered what more he should say to these Zorm people. Apart from issuing a few remote commands to the AIs here, He was not personally involved in the reconstruction of the planet Tannagost, much lesser than he had in the planet Aerym.
Probably he was the planet lord who had the least sense of presence in the world. If he were the boss of a company, no one would have known him wherever he went; his company security personnel would probably bounce him out before he could enter the office.
The embarrassment did not last long though as there was a voice came from a side. "Hao Ren?"
"Nolan?" the voice called out again.
