Zhao Ying nodded with a blush and said, "After I graduated from teacher-training, I worked as a math teacher for three years… Then, I enrolled in postgraduate..."
"Hehe, no wonder. The teacher will never know the little tricks of the students." Sun Jie smiled.
Xiao Qing didn't notice that two bad students were discussing the relationship between the teacher and the student. However, even if she knew, she couldn't do anything to Sun Jie. As long as Sun Jie didn't make fun of Xiao Qing, she was already considered as extremely lucky.

5 years had passed since that encountered happen. I am in the veranda of my small home holding a cup of my tea while watching those small kids pedaled their bikes for one last round before going back home. While Chiara who is near on my feet, is looking for the diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon. The stillness we both feel somehow reminds us we have a home we can call our own. After that incident that made them trap under our control, their lives had changed. The club that once been their "one good time moment", now becomes been manage as an art and music show. Henry who I put a mark, is actually the owner of the building – even before it became known as The Club. Just in a year, he changes the atmosphere of it. He became hands-on for the reconstruction of the building that it took 6 months to finish it. He even invites us to its ribbon cutting event that we never think twice to come. The Club before is now called as The Gallery Show. A lot of its guests were those been under our spells. Everyone had now their own activities to be busy at, whenever they come in to the building aside from their jobs to the companies they are part of. Some were into music enthusiast where they give opportunity to the aspiring singers to compose, record, and take a music video. There building is located on the 6th and 7th floor. Those who are bookish, they take time to have a library alongside of it is they will accept some books, own written novels, poems and comics from those who would like to be an author, poet and illustrator one day. Their building is located on the 4th and 5th floor. And those who take impart in the world of art, there building is located on the 3rd and 2nd floor where a lot of visitors take photos to the rare, impressive, and unique styles of the eager beaver artist. Also, the visitors can even get the chance to have their own art too. Each will take home their own art paintings as well as they will give the other copy of their arts to the art gallery room.
The 1st floor becomes the one and stop food shop of the building, where the visitors can take their time to have their food shopping. The 8th floor becomes our meeting room, where we will gather from time to time and try to see the progress of the company.
	Oscar who become the right-hand of Henry for its management, urges me to become the President of their new starting company. But I refused to their appeals. I told them that there are still things I need to do with as pretending myself being a human. During the ribbon cutting event all who are under our spells know our identity. Good thing is that no one opposes us and no one answer back to let them live the way they were before. The company after 5 years of its operation becomes a successful one-stop educational station just in the heart of the metropolitan where each individual is given the chance to discover their own choice of talents to be well-develop or to see their other sides, aside from the usual intellectual hobby they have.
	Through their financial supports, I graduated a foreign language degree. But I end up to my hobby: I act myself as an agriculturist. Where even I'm away from my farm mansion, I planted and develop my skills in cultivating fruit-bearing trees, vegetables and flowers. Through the encouragement of my new formed family, I build now my own farm business. Every guest who come and visit my 5-hectare farm, will have the opportunity to take part in planting: depending on their own choice. 
             Back in the scene, this day was really a tiring time for us Clara. A certain college student from a nearby institution visit my farm asking my permission and approval to conduct their internship experience. Since it's only me and Clara alone who work and nurture it, I signed their internship paper for them to start by the next week. I told them the daily working activities inside the farm as while as their time schedules. It's close down to 18.00 when Clara stood up and urge me that it's time for us to enter inside the home and prepare our supper. "Ready for your new workmates tomorrow, Clara?", telling Clara who keeps on nodding to the students earlier. "I'm tired looking on their faces. Putting a heavy make-up? Oh! Do they think that they are working as a farmer? Or they think like they are a hotel receptionist?". I laugh on her words that I almost cry on laughing. "You know? have you ever forget to be a teenager at least?". She raised one of her eyebrows and say to me, "And who else here forgets her mission?". I paused for a while then I remember we only have 45 years left starting from now before the big doom comes to us. "Let's get inside now. I will prepare our favorite Valenciana food". Clara's expression turns to frown. "You can't simply change the subject just because you're hungry. And FYI, I'm not in the mood of Valenciana. I prefer to eat stewed meat. And don't forget to add my favorite refreshments". 
	As I prepare our food in the kitchen, Clara is right. It's such a waste of time for us if we continue our relationship with the humans. I pick up my phone then I saw the missed calls of Oscar. While I'm preparing our food, I called him and he said about the upcoming meeting that I need to attend. "Will it be fine if I can't attend to it? Actually, we really have an important appointment to do with Clara. Tomorrow will be going somewhere far. And I'm not sure if we take days or more than that". Oscar on the other line becomes neutral. "Really? Well, this guy who ask me to see you wants to buy some of your products. He came in just this morning and saw one of your photos here in the shop. What do you think? Are you willing to sell your products or no?". I was about to refuse the offer when I notice Clara is behind me waiting for my response. "I guess…" "What Chiara? What's your final decision?". I put my phone on the table and press the speaker on. "It will be best if he will come and visit my farm by the next week". "Okay, that's great! I will leave him the message anyway". "Thanks, and bye Chiara!". I ended up our call. I waited for Clara to speak up, yet she looks at me with suspensions. "A number of intern students and now a buyer?!". I stroke lightly her head and cheeks and say to her, "We will do our mission. Don't worry I can handle that. Right now, we need to eat our supper. For sure you're hungry for your stewed meat".

When Chiara Katerina's parents were both died on the battle, she and her half-soul wolf Clara decided to take revenge and to take fight the evil vampire-wolf,Victor. What does school actually mean to most of us...? Have we ever thought? School means a place where we are educated by knowledge through syllabus books to most of us. But no really it is not so, school is a holy place where all of us should learn the virtues and vices in our life, shouldn't we?
      If you are an intelligent student then U can experience the pressure of expectations of Ur parents, relatives and others. They expect U to be an engineer, doctor, or pilot and may be what not, don't they? But, feeling sad to say no body cares what U want to be and what are Ur expectations. So for such type of students I must say 'Suno sabki Karo manki'. It means listen to all, whatever they may say; but do only what U love to do. Actually this was not only for the toppers but also for average students.
         Most(90-92%) of the people in the world
connect success with intillect. Nooo...., never                       has  it  been  that  every  intellectual  was successful or every successful person was an intelligent personality. There are many such examples round the whole world which make my words as true as 24 carat gold. Parents must know that with education other values such as leadership, confidence, behavior, daring, physical and mental fitness, etc are to be introduced and then induced into the students mind for his bright future.
          Students should be allowed to handle responsibilities from the very small age, this is what gonna make them responsible citizen ahead. Students need practical support to whatever they learn. But to to our misfortune only handful of schools are able to make the students practically firm.

Chapter 3. Essay competition (1)

"We are going to be have a essay competition in our school next week."

When Shiki sensei announced that, the students started murmuring among themselves.

"I haven't wrote a essay for years."

"I wonder if there would be some sort of prize."

"I hope it isn't mandatory to enter. I really suck at essays."

"Can't we have a video game competition or something?"

As the students were murmuring, Shiki sensei sighed and said.

"Listen to the whole announcement, first. The contest will be mandatory for all and there would be one winner for every class and the winner for every class will compete against each other for the prize money."

"I wonder how much is the prize money?"

"It's going to be a hassle if you want to win."

"Yeah, the winner would be probably from a literature club or a book club."

"Do those kind of clubs even exist?"

"Silent!!"

With Shiki sensei shout, the students again fell into a silence. Shiki sensei again sighed heavily and said.

"I am not finished yet. The competition will be held on Friday next week and there would be no classes that day. So, you could leave after submitting your essay."

With that the students all burst into excitement. They were all troubled by the pressure of exams and hearing that, they can leave early flushed them with excitement. 

There were many students who were already making plans like going to karaoke or a movie. The essay competition had given them a opportunity to relax for a bit.

As Ren was watching the class filled with excitement, Kei tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey, Ren what do you think about that?"

"About what?"

"Of course, the essay competition. Do you also want to finish early and hang out like them?"

Kei said as he pointed towards the group of kids happily making plans. 

"I don't know. What about you?"

"I will probably write it till the end."

"Huh, you aren't the type to write till the end. Instead of writing, you will probably read a light novel or something."

Ren said as he stared at Kei confusingly. He knew that Kei wasn't the type to take things seriously. The only things he take seriously are light novels, mangas and anime.

"Well, I thought I will give writing a chance."

"You. Writing?"

"Yeah, it's seems fun. I thought I will take something seriously for once."

"You wanted to take something seriously and you choosed writing."

"Yeah."

Ren didn't knew what to think of it. Kei was taking interest in writing suddenly. He was confused by this but he didn't try to ask him the reason behind this. Ren knew that everyone has their own secrets.

"You are acting weirdly these days."

When Ren heard Kei's words, he was somewhat startled. The last thing he want was anyone finding about his identity.

"....You think so?"

Kei nodded his head at Ren's words and said.

"Yeah, you have been slightly weird these days. It's like you got somewhat mature suddenly."

"Maybe, it's just your imagination."

Kei shook his head at Ren's words and said.

"No, it isn't my imagination. You are suddenly taking interest in books. Previously, you only read some light novels but now, I see you reading those literature books everytime. You even had a smiling expression reading those."

"I have just taken a sudden interest in books."

"I think it's more than just a sudden interest. Are you thinking of going to a literary college or something."

"Literary college?"

Hearing the word literary college, Ren suddenly thought of the time when he used to study in the literary college.

It was also the time when his first book was released. He had suddenly gotten famous in the campus and everyone had started recognising him.

Professors had started giving him attention and they always looked at him with smiles. He had also gotten popular among the girls.

His popularity was so high that the campus queen had confessed to him and they had started dating. Of course, the relationship between them didn't last long and they broke up after a year but it was a time of his life that Ren can't forget.

It was the start of his fame and his destruction. How could he forget about that.

"Ren, Ren, are you even listening to me?"

"Ha, sorry, I was just thinking about something."

Ren quickly broke out of his stupor when he heard Kei's voice.

"Do you want to visit the bookstore later? I wanted to buy a book on essays."

"Ah, sure, I wanted to buy some books too."

Ren answered with a smile on his face. He don't know why but he was now looking forward to the essay competition.

In the staff room of teachers, Shiki sensei sighed as he soon as he sat down in his seat.

"Are you worried about something? Shiki sensei."

Shiki sensei turned his head towards the voice and noticed that the one who asked the question was Hinata sensei who was a chemistry teacher.

"It's nothing. I am just worried about that kids nowadays are more interested in video games than books."

"Hahaha, Isn't that obvious. Teenagers nowadays are more interested in games and movies than books."

Hinata sensei said with a laugh. She was a young female teacher who was still in her 20s. So, she could better understand the students mentality.

"Is it about the essay competition?"

Another teacher asked and Shiki sensei just nodded at that.

"Times are really degrading. When I announced in my class that there will be a essay competition, all the students were just happy about the fact that there would be no classes. No one seems to care about the competition."

This time it was Sato sensei who spoke. He was the oldest teacher in the school and was nearing his 50s. 

"It was the same in my class."

"Me too. They really don't care about the essay competition."

"They are just happy that they will be able to leave school early."

Hearing the conversation several teachers shared their grievances and sighed. They were upset that students were more interested in leaving school early than the essay competition.

"Nakai sensei must be feeling bad."

Hinata sensei said as she looked at Nakai sensei who was silently reading a book in the corner.

Hearing her words, all the teachers looked at Nakai sensei but he didn't say anything and just continued to read his book.

For him reading a book was more interesting than a conversation.

"Yeah, Nakai sensei, you even pushed for the essay competition. Aren't you feeling bad that students aren't interested in it?"

A teacher asked him but Nakai sensei still didn't answered. He was still focusing on his book.

All the teachers just sighed seeing his behaviour. They all know that Nakai sensei wasn't the talkative type.

He was the literature teacher and it's been five years since he had started teaching in this school and his behaviour and attitude hadn't changed at all.

Although his attitude had pissed some of the teachers but they do not do anything as he teaches well and do his work diligently. It was just that he was more interested in reading books.

After sometime, Nakai sensei finally put down his book and smiled while looking out of the window.

"I wish there can be someone who can surprise me in this competition."

He muttered under his breath and continued to smile while looking outside the window.

Fame, wealth, prestige, genius, destruction, despair, loss and failure.

Those are the eight words which describes Ren's life completely.

He was hailed as a genius but his arrogance led him to despair. From a genius, he became a failure.

He was just struggling with his life when fate gave him a second chance.

Now, what will he do after he found himself waking up in another world.

John didn't explain any further. They would know everything soon enough in class.
After passing several buildings, Qin Guan and Cong Nianwei finally reached their favorite place: the library. The building was of a solemn, ancient style, unlike the rest of New York, which was very fancy. Human knowledge was stored there.
The library of the University of Columbia had the fifth largest collection of books in America. There were thousands of ancient books there. The floor and the chairs were made of brown wood, and there were also private, independent chambers. Students there had many choices.
Their class was a vocation course, yet half the seats were already taken. They made a quick visit to the library and then left.
"The library is open 23 hours a day. The staff arranges the returned books during that one hour. You can study here anytime."
"The bad news is, although the library can hold hundreds of students, it’s usually impossible to find a spare seat on weekdays."
"This university is very academic. You’ll see when you get to your first class."
Words couldn’t do justice to the reality of the situation. Most Chinese students, who were the most diligent guys in Asia, would not listen to the seniors’ stories. As a result, they would cry later in class.
 At the end of their tour, they saw a strange iron gate.
It was black with European characteristics, so it stood out in the university. Qin Guan and Cong Nianwei looked at John curiously, waiting for his explanation.
John shrugged helplessly. "It’s Barnard College."
"It’s an independent girls-only college inside our university. The girls can apply for a degree from Columbia University after their graduation. We do not recognize their diplomas though. All their professors and staff are independent from our university. We call their college a younger sister. If you are not clever enough, you could apply to this college."
Suddenly, he looked up proudly. I’m a proud student of Columbia University!
Qin Guan saw some freshmen going out. They were wearing purple summer uniforms with a bear symbol on them. Interesting. It was different from the lion of Columbia University.
It was just like a small college in Peking University. The students shared all the resources on campus, including the library and the gym.
Suddenly, John told Qin Guan in secret, "The girls there all engage in art. They are the most beautiful girls in the US, and they like to date students from our university. Understand?"
I understand nothing. My girlfriend is here, and I don't want to die.
They walked out of the gate with their shoulders touching, fighting playfully. Outside was Broadway Street.
The setting sun cast an orange light on the street, which was quiet during peak time.
 They unconsciously headed west. Unlike most universities in the US, Columbia University had fences. That was because there was a river by the side gate.
Purple flowers decorated the bank. On the other side of the river was the noisy urban area.
"Thank you for showing us around. See you in class!"
They said goodbye on the path along the river. This was the splendid paradise they would be striving in in the future.
Qin Guan and Cong Nianwei decided to walk along the river towards Broadway Street before concluding their trip.
There were simple restaurants all along the street. Cheap fast food, like hamburgers and fries, was popular among the students. Breakfast there cost only 1.99 dollars.

The next morning was just as beautiful. Taking their student cards with them, they walked in different directions, starting off the new semester.
Following his timetable, Qin Guan went to his first classroom. He saw a Chinese cup, a clean handkerchief and a vintage cigar case on the professor’s desk.
What kind of person is our professor? He sure has a strange style!
When most students had taken their seats, Professor Martin entered the classroom leisurely. Those things on the desk must have been arranged by Kuhn. Martin cast a favorable glance at the first row, where a young man with blonde hair and blue eyes was sitting. He was grinning at Martin.
Martin sighed at him helplessly. Then he saw a boy with thick glasses. Xu Xiaoxiao, Kuhn’s friend, also passed the postgraduate exams. Good boy!
Where is my Chinese boy? Is he late for his first class?
Martin couldn’t find Qin Guan. Forget it. I’ll call names first.
"Kuhn?"
"Here!"

Fin and Eva went to their assigned city. It was recently built .There were more then 100,000 people in the city .City magistrate reported to Fin and Eva . "Welcome lords".

Fin was  found it amusing to be called  lords by a middle aged man .He knew it was all arranged by the school and his respect was not for him but for the mysterious force behind him. 
Fin asked "Give me the details of the city".

The middle aged man complied "There are 80% literates and 60% graduates. But most of them are unemployed .City's income is completely dependent on the agriculture. Till now new infrastructure construction gave the youth the required jobs but now they don't know what to do."

Fin found the situation rather tragic .He could suggest some ideas related to entrepreneurship but the city didn't have any capital .For next 2 days he observed the city and started getting general idea. Eva was relaxed ,she would sometime give valuable suggestions but most of the time behaved like its a holiday trip.

Fin came with an idea after some serious thought. He needed concrete plan to get the city's financial system to make sustainable in the long run otherwise he won't get many points for this mission. Fortunately he had the mysterious crystal in his brain .It made lot of simulations whenever Fin tried to come up with an idea.

He called up a meeting and gathered city's officials and his team .He sat on a central position and everyone expectantly looked at him .Gathered people were much older than Fin but none of them underestimated him ,rather they believed in the mysterious force behind him .They thought every student in that  school was heaven defying genius who could solve any problem in the world with a flick of their hand.

"Hello everyone ,let me introduce myself for those who don't know me .My name is Fin and this is Eva my friend .We are assigned to come up with a solution for the city and after giving some serious thoughts ,we have decided on something .Please give us valuable feedback after hearing it."

Everyone was curious ,they thought in their mind  'What sort of idea can a 10 years old could give?'

Fin continued "Instead of creating a money based society lets create idea based society . There is a lot of difference between an Idea and a patent. To get a patent we all know how much time it takes. To get a patent you should scientifically prove your theory or practically demonstrate it. On top of it ,you have to pay handsomely to get your product out but there is no guarantee that your idea will be a successful or not.

We are going to build a company where Ideas are currency. We are going to act as buffer between people and the government and other private companies . Suppose a company needs new ideas to  develop a new technology or new ideas to increase its product's market value or new ideas to  increase its profits ,they may consult our company. 

We will display there needs in the form of advertisements in our server without mentioning their company name. So when a common man see the server he would get a clear idea in which fields he needs to think and give ideas.

 Suppose a common man comes up with an idea our experts will calculate its worth . If the idea is outdated or unworthy we will filter it out. If the idea is good it will pass on to our next division where its practicality is verified. If that idea passes through the initial checks there will be our final technical division where the idea is applied practically. 

If the idea clears first 2 division then we will credit a certain sum to his account and its present and future worth in normal currency. If so many ideas came for a single advertisement we will select the best from them and recommend it to the company which asked an idea from us. It is up to that company to go for that idea.

If the company likes the idea then they will buy it and as a compensation they will  give some shares or anything that is worthy of that idea .This amount will go to our main account of our  company from there we will distribute it to the people who gave us idea depending upon their contribution.

  Apart from that we are going to build our own products . People can give ideas when we display what we need on the screen. Rich people who don't want to think so much can just invest their money in different products. When the product gets into market our company will share the profit with the people who contributed ideas.

This will support higher studies and build intellectual competition among people. There are thousands of people who have great innovative ideas but they don't find right opportunity . Now people are investing money in Gold, real-estate etc. but then people would start to invest in new ideas and buy ideas from us for their requirement .

 We can invest on agricultural lands where we and farmers work together. Farmers look after their crops and we introduce new technologies depending on the soil condition and climate pattern of that region to increase the yield. This applies not only to agriculture but to other fields also. 
Every one will realize how important education is .

Our literacy rate will increase and a new era of ideas and creativity will emerge. People who seek knowledge are respected instead of people who seek money .It will certainly create intellectual revolution which creates jobs and improves financial health of the country like a snow ball effect.
Knowledge needs to be valued and used for a livelihood otherwise people don't bother sending their children to schools and collage .

An average man would send his son to  do work rather than school because knowledge of his son won't be helpful in the short run .His family needs money to survive more than knowledge.With our company ,schools would rack their brain to come up with classes which could improve creativity and imagination of the child rather than filling  them with useless knowledge.

Schools itself then will turn out as nerve centers of ideas ,they could sell their students ideas to our company and we will make valuable products out of it and share profit with that school. That school will in return share their profit with the children .Not only schools  but collages and higher technical institutes also would become nerve centers of the ideas .

Our city will become the brain of the world in the long run .In the entire world our city will be the first hub of knowledge and ideas .What do you think about this revolution ?Do you think it is possible?"

There was pin drop silence in the meeting room .Everyone for a moment went into the future .Many didn't know what to say .Its true that the idea was good but its practicality was the main problem .People should be motivated to come up with an idea otherwise why would they do it .They could simply leave the city look for a an ordinary job ,why bother revolution and all?

Many wanted to criticize but didn't voice their concern for the fear of offending the mysterious power. One of the team members said "Sir ,its a good idea let us try and implement it ."

The institute didn't bother about the people ,all it cared about nurturing its students .It had bought an entire city to just give an experience to its students and the team members were told to try to implement whatever ideas the students come up with .

In total the city was just like a playground for the students .They can do whatever they want .The Institute believed that when a student freely exercised his ideas , he would learn faster and his confidence would increase. That was the foundation they wanted to create for the future scientists  .

Ordinary students would  never get that chance as they would be cautious to not not waste any resources ,they would restrain their creativity to the confines of the resources whereas students of the Markel institute didn't have to bother with that at all.

If they fail in their mission at most they would loose a chance .Many students try for higher gates if they have accumulated more than one chance to exercise their brain and get some real experience in innovation or leadership etc.

For the next 20 days team members implemented Fin's ideas .A company was formed and its workings were advertised .Many investors started to invest in the company because of its uniqueness. 

Students ,graduates ,working people , housewives were all started pouring crazy ideas when then got to know about it .They wanted to make quick money .They soon realized 90 % of the ideas were rejected just because it was already existed in the internet.

Competition gradually increased and people started forming small groups and visited libraries for the first time to gain as much information as they could .Demand for library books increased and dust filled libraries were started to attract people like a hive that attracts bees. As a result demand for books increased .People started taking jobs of authors , journalists like hot cakes .Many small scale bushiness started making profits after they got ideas from the new company.

Schools and collages changed the pattern of their syllabus and made it according to the new trend .Many children who were unable to go to the school because of the income constraint were given scholarships and recruited by schools . 

Schools also wanted to earn money ,so they carefully nurtured children like precious treasures. Earlier teachers were not giving a damn whether a student learnt a concept or not but now they would sit with students like they were real friend who was worried about their future.

Students were finding the whole situation unbelievable .They were previously treated like beggars during afternoon meals but now teachers would personally cook for the children and sit with them to have lunch .Some teachers even started discussing about life which made students open their mouth wide open where one could fill an entire chicken inside .  

Agriculture was made into technical job because those who followed innovative ideas like agro-forestry ,inter cropping ,hybrid seeds , started making profits. Farmers were surprised by the amount of money they were making .

But everything was not a sunny side .

Many started dark markets where authors of technical books got kidnapped ,competition between schools turned into war , neighboring cities started imitating the trend and increased the competition to a dangerous level .Initially 10 out of 100 ideas had success rate ,then it increased to 10 out of 1000. The institute team handled those problems which Fin need not to worry.

Over all , the idea was a success . Fin and Eva became happy and quickly went to the institute to collect their mission points .They knew they would  get huge points for an  S rank mission but they didn't know how much.

While Fin and Eva was busy collecting their points ,Fairy had a bad feeling that something would happen soon. Her intuition was telling her to leave immediately .

However, Pampas had not given up.
Everyone was stunned. One would know that when a mech was in silent mode, it would mean that its power output would be very small. Yet, the Heaven's Wrath was climbing to the rooftop step by step. At this moment, the Sentry type V was still carefully heading towards this direction. Clearly, Pampas past performance had always made people cautious that he would be hiding in some sinister place. Bass was being cautious and careful.
If one would say that the strongest and most unfathomable person at present was Wang Zheng, then the smartest person had to be Pampas.
Unknowingly, those people who liked the people of Aslan, all felt that they should give Pampas a chance.

When Saruman Snake battle team appeared at the top by winning all 3 matches, the whole crowd exploded with deafening clapping. They were the super dark horse that had gone against all expectations and remained undefeated. Before the competition, this was a team that was ranked last in strength. Who would have thought that after 3 rounds, it would be the only team that won every round and surprisingly be standing at the peak and looking down at all the strong teams!
The students of the Ares College had already gone completely berserk. This was equivalent to saying that there were students standing at the top of the Milky Way Galaxy that had suddenly come from a lower grade Military school. Moreover, it wasn't just one person but a team. The difficulty of this was off the roof.

As the translator, I've enjoyed translating this novel and I hope to bring the essence of what the author has tried to portray into the chapters you will read.
To sum it up in 3 words: Mechs! Explosions! Science!
To be perfectly honest, this novel is about your typically overpowered protagonist who does get looked down from time to time but always overcomes the odds with his own special power. He's abit more mature having grown up on his own and just a littttttttle bit dense.
Although it always ends up with him winning, it always happens in an interesting (subjective) and fun way that makes me enjoy reading this.
The novel has elements of lighthearted comedy from time to time and I do chuckle at how direct the humor is.
It's not as smart as say WMW nor does it weave an intricate story much like Ergen's novels. More importantly, its fun and it doesn't try to hide it.


Ava Wesley  was in the library to get her text books for the assignment .The deadline for  the submission   was next  week but Ava never liked to keep things for the last moment. 
Wesley's were one of the prominent families in the city. Her father is an Industrialist and her mother was a former famous model. But after her mother got married she quit modeling and concentrated on her children .
But even to this day her mother has not lost her charm and she is recognized widely in the society. Her elder sister Sara is a famous model who is quite opposite to Ava in terms of both looks and personality. 
Ava has a lot of pressure to live up to her family standards. Sure being the youngest they pampered her a lot and gave her the best things. But in few things she has to listen to her family. 
The economics professor is very strict and his assignments were sometimes out of syllabus. They could not answer the entire questions by reading one particular text book. They have to refer multiple books and then only they will be able to answer the question. 
The professor used to check in detail each assignment so they were not able to copy also. So students usually were very quick to take the reference text books from the library. She went and searched the whole shelf but did not get the book which she wanted.  
Two books were already taken by her roommates so they can share it. She just needed one more book and she thought she may be late and other students have already taken it.
Then she saw a person who had her back towards her and   was holding the book which she wanted.
"Excuse me ", Ava said but he did not respond.
"Can I talk to you for a second ", Ava asked a little bit loudly to get his attention.
Hardin turned around and saw a beautiful girl and he was distracted for a second .Her face was of heart shaded with a very fair skin tone. She was thin and tall. When wind blew few strands of her black jet hair covered her face. She was just like a porcelain doll.
Hardin is good looking and the most popular guy in the college. He was intelligent and student council president. He is very arrogant as he thought he is better than everyone else .
So people always flocked around him and sometimes it irritated him as there was no privacy for him .Whether it was boys or girls they wanted to be in his good books.  He had come to library to return his books and thought of checking out other books. 
Actually he heard the first time she called but pretended not to hear.  He thought it may be some girl who wanted to flirt with him.
"Ya ", Hardin thought if he knew she was so beautiful he could have responded before only.
"Do you need the book which you are holding in your hand ", Ava asked him politely.
He was stunned for a moment and thought she is using the excuse of books to talk to him.          
"Well I do not need ", Hardin stated.
"Then can you give me the book, I needed it to complete my assignment ", Ava pleaded.
Seeing her serious expression he got to know that she really wanted the book.
 When Ava came forward to take the book from his hand, Hardin lifted the book up in the air and Ava could not reach it.
"But I need it after two days ", Hardin said with a smirk.
"No problem I will give it to you as soon as possible ", Ava said as she extended her hand to receive the book.
"Tell me your name and class so that I will only come and collet it ", Hardin said as he gave her the book
Seeing Ava speak so softly, Hardin thought how he could have missed such a beauty in the college. Hardin never bothered to know anyone, usually people used to follow him.
Although Ava is a brilliant student she used to keep a low profile in college so not many know of her.
Ava told her details and went to dorm as she was in a hurry.
Hardin smiled and thought that he did not need that book back but he wanted another chance to talk with her. So he lied. She seemed so innocent and when he talked with her he got to know that she genuinely needed that book. 
He could not take off his eyes from her and wanted to be in her presence. But he knows there will still be chances in future for him to be near her. There were many girls in college who were crazy about him and did anything to get his attention. But Hardin for the first time in his life was smitten by someone and that it Ava.
 "Are you going somewhere ", Ava's roommate asked her, seeing Ava pack her bag.
" Ya to my parents' house ", Ava replied  as she put her mac laptop and a reference textbook into her channel bag.
 "But it is not the weekend and we have a test in two days ", Ava's roommate said.
" Ya but it's an important event which my mom is forcing me to attend . Do not worry I have taken the textbook, I will be able to study for the test ", Ava checked her bag whether she needed anything else. 
Her mother called her and told Ava to come   home as she missed her daughter and in the meanwhile she can attend the wedding also.  After Ava started staying in college dorm, her mother always with one or the other reason called her home.
Ava's parents did not want their little princess to live in dorm. But Ava wanted to live her college life like any other student and she promised that she will visit them every weekend.  With her Gucci sunglasses in one hand and Channel handbag in another she went down to go to her home. 
Well today was not weekend but there was a marriage in one of the aristocratic family. All the influential people will attend the function toady. People who were invited thought it was their honor. 
Many thought that attending the Aristocratic functions means they have a chance of business or marriage partnership in the future. By the time she went down her father has sent the car to take her home.

The class was silent. After all, most of these students had thought they would just begin with an introduction to the course. They didn't realize that the class would already begin. No one had read the materials for them. Of course, there were exceptions. Xander had read the books for this class as well, and could answer it based on what he understood from the book, but that would put him to the limelight.

She hasn't decided which pseudo-spells to select for her seeds because her elements were giving her quite a problem; they were opposing elements of Ice and Fire. 

"Ok Maryann, so what is an element?" Amelia asked her. Maryann quickly responded, her voice even, and her speed not fast nor too slow.

"An element is a general representation existing anytime, everywhere. For example, the fire element. The fire element is produced through many ways using chemical and biological processes. One can say it is the combination of oxygen, fuel, and energy, which is the form of heat, one would produce fire."

At this point, another voice sounded in the classroom. 

"Maryann, according to your line of answer, the ice element is also a general representation. If ice element is a general representation, then the ice cubes we make at home by freezing water can be said to be a product of the ice element, and not necessarily the ice element itself. But the thing is, the ice element is not a reaction to something, it is something physical, unlike fire element which is classified as a reaction and considered intangible, like energy."

"What do you propose then?" Maryann wasn't flustered or angry, but curious at the perspective her classmate had.

"My name is James Corde, and I think an element is simply a particle that exists in a different dimension to ours. These particles, like the table of elements that we have, are the link to creating chemical, biological and physical reactions and processes. For example, the water element; although we have the chemical structure of water, is water simply just that, H2O? One can consider hydrochloric acid as a combination of 3 elements: Air, Corrosion, and water. Although their chemical structures are made up of molecules, these molecules exist in our dimension. I believe this idea holds some ground because there are numerous research papers published concerning the inter-relationship of the physical to the elemental domain." James said proudly, acting like an intellectual amongst a group of commoners.  

James was from the Corde family, who are renowned to be descendants of nobles. 

Before he could even revel, a snort interrupted him, followed by a feminine voice.

"James, your thinking is quite limiting to the term 'element'. Let's go back to your example, hydrochloric acid. if it is a combination of 3 elements, does that mean if I remove the air element in a hydrochloric acid solution, it would stop being hydrochloric acid? Does that mean it wouldn't evaporate? If I remove the corrosive element, does that mean it would be like normal water, not damaging you the slightest, making you able to drink it? Without the water element, it would become a corrosive gas? They had made a study relating to the removal of the element particles in a certain area where they made the acid. Do you know the results? They were still able to produce the acid! Mind you, this was done in an area forcefully devoid of elements. They did a similar study, this time, looking at one of the naturally devoid of elements, or deadspots, located at a hillside. They began doing chemical reactions, even biological processes such as cell replication in vivo, and they all succeeded." A girl who looked like she was 17 years of age spoke all this in rebuttal to what James just said, a bit scornful at his dumb response. 

Before James could even retort back, Amelia clapped her hands twice, causing everyone to stop and be silent. Amelia smiled at them again.

"Everyone, your ideas do hold some truth, but there are things these ideas fail to encapsulate. First, Maryann: general representation is true, yes, but that is generally only true for the element particles in the earth and air series. Second, James: the idea that elements are in another dimension is false, as it has been proven that they exist in the same dimension as ours. At the same time, it doesn't mean that if you mix these elemental particles, you would cause them to react and form into a compound; these aren't molecules that are reactive to one another, or even inert like our table of elements from chemistry. Those elements, like oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur, when you mix them in their purest states, they begin to react and produce products and precipitates, as well as energy lost. Can you notice the problem here?" She asked, looking around the class. 

Seeing no one raise their hands, she wanted to answer but then she saw someone raise his hands. Upon seeing who it was, her eyes twinkled as if seeing a gem.

"Yes, you. What's your name?"

Xander smiled and replied, "Xander Cloverfield. The main problem with the theory James had was that the physical elements in chemistry follows the law of energy conservation. From the materials + energy to the product + precipitate + energy loss, both sides must be equal in terms of energy. The problem with elemental particles is that they don't follow this law of energy conservation. Since we can say, for example, water element is on a higher series than the ice element series, meaning water element particles can actually produce ice element particles, where do they get the energy to produce the ice elements?"

Xander raised his hand, and showed a clump of water element particles transform into ice element particles. The class was astounded; even Amelia was a bit surprised. She knew what Xander just did, but she was surprised to see someone at the Elite class do it.

"Here, you can see the transformation water element particles to ice element particles. The energy of the water element particles is the same level as that of ice element particles. Now look at this next example."

Xander raised his other hand, and another clump of water element particles appeared, this time, bigger. On his other hand, now devoid of ice element particles, started forming them again. Xander earlier showed the quick transformation, but this time, what he was doing was forcing the water elements to propagate. Between his two hands, one could see 1 water element particle splitting into two, yet remaining the same size. one of the particles slowly turned into ice, while the other returned to the clump of water element particles. 

He began demonstrating the elemental propagation theory! Amelia shouted in her heart. She couldn't believe it; after all, years after the theory was proposed, no one was able to prove it in such a manner. 

He dispersed the elements on his hands and continued speaking in a leisurely manner.

"What I showed you all proved the elemental propagation theory; however, this doesn't resolve the issue of energy: Where do they get the energy to do the elemental replication? At the same time, look."

Xander this time controlled wind particles to appear on his hand, and raising his other hand, slowly, ice began to form not from the environment, but from the particles that came from the wind element. The students and Amelia could observe that they were rapidly transforming into another type of element, specifically, the ice element!

"Ele...elemental conversion! How can you even do such a thing! You're not even Legendary magician!" Amelia stuttered, her body frozen in shock. 

Xander merely looked at her puzzledly.

"Miss Amelia, you do realize, with your experience as a magician, that elements have hierarchies, correct? If you read the works of Fitzgerald, Simones, Mythesia, Romano, and Therault, understand their works, and combine your understanding by filling up the gaps of their theories, it can be said that they have been pointing to this idea of elemental conversion." Xander replied, his voice calm and sure of what he just said. 

Miss Amelia, on the other hand, froze harder upon hearing the names Xander mentioned. Even Maryann and the girl who rebutted James were stupefied.

Aren't they college students? Why are they hearing the names of ancient, well-known revolutionary researchers and philosophers of their fields? Aren't their works usually studied for post-graduate and even doctorate students? What do you mean about combining their theories? What do you mean understanding? How could you even completely comprehend what they were researching on, hey! 

No one spoke for a few seconds. However, Miss Amelia suddenly disappeared and appeared in front of Xander, her eyes mad with excitement.

"Do you mean, you managed to apply the elemental hierarchy: Suppression and supplementation theory that Therault, the latest revolutionary researcher and the one of those still alive, managed to formulate after studying the works of thousands of other element researchers??" Amelia asked, her voice quivering and filled with  joy. Therault managed to formulate the theory 4 years ago, causing an international furor in the elemental research field.

Xander nodded, quite puzzled by her reaction.

"Yup, uncle Therault often came to our house to talk to my dad, and he had these papers lying around in the table while they talked. I took a peek and saw his writings. Weirdly though, he had some misconceptions about the tiers so I pointed it out to him." he responded to Amelia.

Upon hearing this, Amelia didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the unfairness of the world. She, a woman of standing, someone praised to be a genius to reach Legendary Class before the age of 50, wasn't even able to understand even 10% of the theory Therault had posed.

Some of the students even checked the paper Therault published and was surprised to see Xander's name as one of the lead authors.

"Oh my god, it's true, he's one of the lead authors of the paper!"

"Wait, this was published 4 years ago, doesn't that mean Xander was just 3 years old?What the F*ck?"

"The heavens are truly unfair! How can we even compete with a genius??" one of them bemoaned, and all of them, even Amelia, agreed wholeheartedly.

Xander looked at the kid who shouted his age puzzledly.

"I was actually 4 years old at that time when he came visit. The website you visited probably inputted the date the paper was submitted for peer reading and revision, which was a year before he went to visit our house." Xander calmly said, focusing on that point.
