A year later.....

It's late December, I took 2 weeks off to visit Tiere at Jakarta, staying at her apartment. Tiere told me she loves her job and she made a lot of money. I'm so happy that I let her chase her dreams. And I, I finally got to work at my dream game company, was accepted right after a month dating Tiere. She's like a lucky charm to me.

The sun shining through the open curtain, I woke up before the alarm start beeping. I turned it off once it rang cause it's Sunday, I leaned forward looking at the peaceful looks of Tiere while she's sleeping, drooling on her pillow, greasy hair, and her messy waterproof makeup, did she forget to wash her face or? I use my thumb to wipe her eye –shadow but I didn't make it, for me she's always beautiful, my lips lifted upward I feel warm in my heart as it beats faster cause I realize how much I love her. Somehow it's so calming and my heart is melting. I leaned my head forward again, kiss her lips once and she pouted. "I want to sleeeppppp" she said, tossing her body to the other side. I laid back on the bed, hug her from behind. 

"Good morning, my dear" I whispered. I heard her sniffing smiles. Then my phone ruined my Sunday.

I sit up to catch my phone, my mom's picture popped up. DAMN! SHE IS VIDEO CALLING ME RIGHT NOW? I LIED TO HER! But it's okay, I am 24 years old. BUT NO, JUST PRETEND I'M IN THE HOTEL.

I click the green button soon as my mom's face close up-ly appeared. I was kind of shock, my heart start pumping fast, throbbing behind my ribs, it's going to crack soon.

"Hii.. Mom" my jaw turns rigid. 

"Hey, so, you're at Jakarta?" my mom asked, still smiling.  

I nod my head, "Yes"

"Huh.. it's so hard to ask you to come to Miami, but when it is about Tiere, you arrived soon as she asked" 

I told my mom about Tiere and my mom was so happy about it. I don't know she used to ship me with Tiere since grade –school. I don't understand my mom sometimes. 

"Mom..." I rolled my eyes. 

"So where's she?"

"She is beside me..ups" I covered my mouth, DAMN! MY MOM PURPOSELY SHIFT MY CONCENTRATION.

Her smile disappeared, her face turned scary. THIS IS THE END OF MY LIFE!

"HAA!! YOU!!! Bastard! You slept with TIERE?? YOU DARE LIED TO ME?? YOU WANNA GET MARRIED SOON, HUH?" 

"Momm.. mom... listen" like usually....

Then, how about Caroline and the flowers?

Back to that time.

Once I've done my confessions towards Tiere, I walked back to my car light –heartedly. I feel happy and relieved at the same time.

It's Caroline. Oh, I really forgot about her! I was kinda shock.

"Ryan.. where the hell are you?"

"Caroline.. I'm so sorry to say this. But, I think I'd like to stay with Tiere cause I love her" I said as I scratched my forehead, I know I sound like a total jerk but this is for the best.

"What???" she moaned and hung up the phone, before I even explain. 

Then the florist got to call me. 

"Hello, Giany's florist here. Am I talking with Mr.Valerian?"
 "Hello, miss florist. The bouquet and the chocolate box, sorry.. my girlfriend just left the town, so I'm giving that package for you. Thankyou!"

It turned her speechless, maybe I sound pathetic but not too pathetic that makes her confused. Ah, not a big deal.

She has a dark past during her school time, students like to judge her, but since graduated from high school she did some improvements of her both appearance and her image that makes her prettier in the present time. But nah, in the past time, she is kind of retarded. Her family isn't that rich, but her mom's new husband and her dad's new wife are billionaires. But Tiere won't take a cent from them. She is tough. 

Caroline : she is one of the queen bees gang in their school. But she is the most normal among the others, I mean.. she is kinda study a lot rather than hanging out and shopping, even though she does a lot of shopping too. She is from a very rich family, that's why people like to cling into her. Nowadays people.

Calvin : Tiere's ex –boyfriend. Son of a famous cosmetic company. Calvin and Tiere were not in the same school. They met in the pub where Tiere worked at. That time, Calvin has a crush on her, and get to know her better. Tiere doesn't change because of Calvin, so don't get her wrong. She changed because she feel kinda ashamed of her past life during her school time.

"Sino yan?" Tinanong ni Cas habang papalakad papunta sakin

"Si Ken." Sagot ko

"Ken? KEN SUSON?!" Tanong niya shookt na shookt ang aking kaibigan

"Bat kailangan mabigla?" Tanong ko sakanya

"Wala lang O.A lang talaga ako minsan." Sabi niya

"Halata nga." Sabi ko

"Ansabe?" Tanong niya binabasa ko naman yung messege niya.

"Hello! Good Morning. Di ako mahilig sa interview eh pwede bang iba nalang?" Binasa ko nadismaya ako

"Sayang naman effort mo te, ayaw pa interview." Sabi ni Cas

"Oo nga nag english pamo ako." Sabi ko tas nagfocus ako sa isang lugar nagiisip anong sasabihin.

"Uhm, Pwede bang kahit ngayon lang Mr. Suson? para sa grades ko? Please?" Pakiusap ko sakanya jusko sana pumayag, myghad nagseen na siya at typing na.

"Di ko kase alam anong gagawin dyan para san ba yan?" Tanong niya

"Uhm, Para po sa school newspaper." Sagot ko.

"Tignan ko yung sched ko." Sabi niya wow very busy ka kuya? bakasyon uy!

"Sige po update ko lang po si Mr. Perez about dito." Sabi ko

"Mr. Sam Perez?" Tanong niya

"Opo." Sagot ko clueless ako bat niya kilala si Mr. Perez?

"Sige papainterview nako." Natulala ako sa answer niya totoo ba to? walang halong joke?

"Kain na tayo." Aya ko tas tumayo na siya

"So anong sabi ni Ken?" Tanong niya

"Ayun, Hindi pumayag." Sabi ko

"Hala for real?" Tinignan niya ako with those malalaking mata shookt na shookt

"Kanina, pero okay na." Tas napabugtong hininga

"Ambaho ah." Sabi ko sabay takip ng ilong ng pabiro

"Nakikiamoy ka na lang maarte kapa." Sabi niya tas tumawa ako

"Kain na tayo." Aya ko

"Kailan naka sched interview mo sakanya?" Tanong niya

"Well, May pupuntahan na tayo ngayon." Sabi ko ng nakangiti

"Luh, Ngayon din yung kay Leslie." Sabi niya

"Osige, kita nalang tayo sa SM north after ng mga interview?" Tanong ko

Natapos na kaming kumain, niligpit namin yung pinagkainan tas naghugas nadin ako ng plato si Cas naman naligo na matagal maligo yun eh kaya pinauna ko na, tas katapos kong naghugas pumunta ako sa taas ni ready ko na yung isusuot ko pati mga gagamitin ko nilagay ko na sa mini backpack ko, katapos maligo ni Cas ako na sumunod, katapos ko nag-ayos lang ako ng konti tas bumaba na kami nilock ko yung bahay namin tas naglakad na kami papunta sa may daanan.

"Magkaiba ba tayo ng taxi niyan?' Tanong ko

"Yes, Sa may Quezon city circle na daw kami magkita." Sabi niya tas tumango ako

"Ayan na taxi una ka na sige." Tas tumango siya

"Bye Tep. Ingat ka." Kaway niya sakin tas kumaway din ako at nag abang ako ng taxi buti naman agad may taxi kaya sumakay ako agad.

"Daan muna po tayong Techno hub." Sabi ko puntahan ko muna si mama para meron naman akong pera kahit papaano.

Naglagay ako ng earphones at shinuffle play ko medyo traffic ngayon ewan ko ba bakit, Tinext ko na din si mama na lumabas nalang sa office nila para di na ako bababa after siguro ng 20 minutes andun na kami sa may harap ng building nina mama nakita ko din siya.

Naglakad na ako papunta sa sala ulit para iligpit yung gamit ko samantala namang niligpit niya yung pinagkainan ko shemay laking bahay bat wala silang katulong? kung ako lilinisin ko to araw araw? siguro tatamarin nako jusko ang laki banaman, natapos din ako sa pag-aayos ng gamit sinuot ko nadin yung mini backpack ko.

"Thank you Ken Suson sa pagpayag na mainterview kita." Pasasalamat ko tas tumango siya

"Okay lang yun." Sagot niya

"Alis nako." Sabi ko tas sinamahan niyako sa may pinto

"San ka pala pupunta?" Tanong niya

"Ah sa SM North lang." Sabi ko tas tumango siya

"Hatid na kita." Sabi niya nagulat ako sa sinabi niya Hatid? sino? Ako? hala.

The second morning at the institute starts identically to the previous day. Before long I find myself in my comfy corner of the classroom debating on what to accomplish after class. There are still two months before the start of the original story, so there's no rush to absorb all the books in the institute's library. 

Making 7,000 demon spirit coins will be a bit more difficult. Selling inscriptions still seems like a solid plan, but I've not come across the inscription section in the library yet.

Now that I reasonably think about it, physical exercise should be the number two priority on my list. I'll naturally need sufficient strength, speed, and endurance when it's time to eliminate any possible enemies. Plus, it's mandatory to possess a strong body to absorb the powers of law. Not exploding is also on my priority list.

Genuinely having no interest in the propaganda sermon about to commence, I grab some on my writing supplies to test a theory. The Library of Heaven's Path can correctly show the flaws to nearly anything I can touch. What about literary works that I create myself? 

With teacher Xia's distinctive voice in the background, I title a page 'My Profound Thoughts' and begin to write down every famous saying, quote, and controversial theories from Earth that I can think of. Inspirational and infamous movie and book lines are added next. Nothing is spared. 

My frenzied scribbles only cease once I've used my last sheet of parchment. I impatiently wait for the ink on the last few handwritten pages to dry before a carefully gather all the sheets into an orderly stack. 

With a pounding heart, I tentatively place my hand on the cover of the recently created word vomit and think 'Flaws!'

Jumping into the Library of Heaven's Path, I find myself standing before an unassuming hardbound book titled 'My Profound Thoughts'. Eagerly grasping the book and thinking about its flaws, my vision is blocked by another sheet of parchment.

A sigh escapes me due to my welcome relief. Over two hundred flaws may be a lot, but I must have written down over 400 individual quotes and theories! I'll be able to use the advance technology from Earth for creating a potential pathway for several powers of law! This is huge! 

I reluctantly return to the classroom with the intent to use the Library of Heaven's Path to create a workout plan based on Earth's modern technology, only to be halted in my tracks. I only brought a few sheets of paper today, and those are now all used. Crap.

The last few hours of class drag by. Even reading 'Heaven's Path of Human Meridians' doesn't help much due to the time dilation of the Library of Heaven's Path. Although my confidence in the study of meridians is greatly boosted after the ninth reading. Soon I'll be able to recite the entire book.

Once teacher Xia releases us for the day, I hurriedly make my way to the dining hall. The faster I get back to the writing supplies, the faster I can test out modern exercise efficiency.

My enthusiasm to get back to my dorm room nearly causes me to run into a dark-haired girl exiting another classroom. I'm able to stop before I physically run into her, but we're well within the others' personal space.

Quickly jumping back before she can react, I cup my fist and slightly bow towards her. "Forgive me. I was not paying attention. You have my deepest apologies."

Without waiting respectfully for her acknowledgment, I straiten my bent back and begin to move around her. It was then that I was able to see her full face. She was beautiful and young. Her midnight black hair framed her sculpted and young face. The cold indifference in her fierce eyes did little to age your young face.

My movement around her is only slightly paused as I instantly recognize her. Before anything or anyone can disrupt me, I'm swiftly moving down the hallway, forcibly suppressing the urge to throw-up in my mouth!

Without a doubt, I'm convinced that was Xiao Ning'er, and I'm equally convinced that Nie Li is inevitably a pedophile! Yes, I heartily agree that Ning'er is perhaps the most beautiful girl I've ever met, but she's a very young girl! Even if you squint your eyes and tilt your head, she would still look young, and that's coming from someone that was in their early twenties! Nie Li lived for over 100 years! That's not counting at least another 100 odd years spent inside the Temporal Demon Spirit Book! 

Yup. It's decided. I'm punching that pedophile square in the dick.

I change directions and head up to my dorm room. I've lost my appetite.

Once I'm sitting safely at my dorm desk, I take a moment to purge the last ten minutes from my memory. With a final shiver, I'm ready to create an exercise manual.

Two hours later, I admit defeat. While I was able to create a flawless routine to improve flexibility, I can't create a flawless routine for superior strength or speed. I'm throwing in the towel for tonight. 

Stretching my back after uncomfortable hours of sitting feels amazing. Prudently deciding that today will not be a waste, I promptly begin going through my recently created flexibility routine. I intend to merge it once I create a flawless body manual, so I see no point in naming it.

With nothing to distract me, while I'm awkwardly holding each pose, my mind starts to wonder about Xiao Ning'er's situation. There's no possible way I'm going to allow her to willingly give herself to that ancient pedophile. At the same time, I can't replicate what happened in the story for fear of Ning'er directing her feelings towards me. This undoubtedly requires a bit more thought and I'll have to tread lightly when it's time to act. 

Putting that landmine to the side, for now, I try focusing on improving my flexibility. 

The rest of the first week of school finishes with the same daily routine. I rise promptly with the morning bells and dutifully go through my flexibility routine, followed by cleaning myself up before breakfast. Once I'm in my classroom, I typically split my time between listening to teacher Xia and reading 'Heaven's Path of Human Meridians'. After dozens of extensive readings, it's now possible for me to recite most of the mystical book while correctly pointing out the indicated meridian or pathway. After class is dinner, followed by a dull night in the institute's library absorbing books. Once I return to my dorm, I'll typically go through the flexibility routine again before taking a bath and going to sleep.

My first week turned very redundant, but I've already absorbed nearly a third of the books in the library. A side bonus, I can do the splits now. Get to channel my inner Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Today will be a bit different than normal. After six straight days of class, we get a free day. After my morning routine, I make my way off-campus for the first time in a week.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my exit. A dozen other students also make their way into the central district. Moving within disorderly crowds is a great way to hide in plain view. As Joseph Heller said: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you."

Unfortunately, my little security blanket is slowly dispersed before I arrive at my intended destination. I debated with myself for many hours on intentionally delaying my visit, but I'm really craving a bit of scenery change from the institute's library. 

Not really sure how visiting another library would be much of a change.

Taking in the welcome sight of my destination, I'm a bit disappointed. The grounds are large but the buildings seem to be old and ill cared for. The open courtyard is spacious but appears to be on the verge of being unkempt. 

Determined to see this through, I stoically pass through the entry gates uncontested, making my way to a comely looking woman wearing a grey robe. A 20 year old fan of fanfiction is transmigrated into an orphaned teen in the middle of Glory City. Follow him as he's forced to deal with hidden dangers, evil villains, and the dreaded puberty. 

This is my first novel, so expect some mistakes. I'll try to make corrections when seen. Reworked the first six chapters.

I'm doing this for my own personal pleasure. I have a family and a job that requires me to work most weekends. I hope to produce two chapters a week, provided life allows.

We've all felt at one point in our life that we were going to die. We've imagined it accepted it but then we open our eyes and realise that we weren't dead yet. 


Inspirational quotes will tell you that you live to fulfil God's wishes in your life, maybe it is true, maybe it is a lie. Maybe we have our time of death just as we have our time of life and until our time of death reaches we cannot die. I best believe that.

I opened my eyes to see that I was Still alive and it shocked me. Mario Jose sat on the bed not caring if I died or lived and I suddenly felt rage.

"Why do you hate me so much?" I asked crying. I struggled to breath while my lungs burnt.

"You ask why, is that answer not obvious to you. You think you can buy me with your wealth just because you are the senators daughter you think everyone will bow to you?" He yelled looking up at me with more rage than is allowed for one man.

"You agreed to marry me I didn't force you to neither did my father," he sprung up from the bed with a murderous look on his face like he was going to murder me. And maybe he was. He moved to where I stood so swiftly I could have missed him walking. He held my hands tightly and stared at me boring into my soul.

"Do not give me that crap, Monica. You didn't force me but you left me no choice. no choice." he screamed at my face and I shivered in fear. Fear of the unknown. This him I did not know but wished to know. I wanted to know all of him the sides he hid from the world and the sides he let the world see.

"I love you Mario don't you see that, I love you more than I've ever loved anyone more than I love my self more than I love anything," I cried. Trying to reason with a rage filled man is as useless as reasoning with a woman in love but I didn't care. I needed him to know that I loved him very much. That was all that mattered to me at the point.

"You don't know what love is. You don't!" He yelled. "Why are you here? " he asked pushing me against the door again. He bent down so his eyes could meet mine and at that point I forgot how to speak "

"We are married now Jose__I___"

"That doesn't answer by damn question bitch!" he said. Before I could speak again he hit me across the face and I fell sideways falling on my knees. 


He dragged my hair pulling me up so I could face him. "Answer the damn question or you will regret it?" He shouted menacingly. Looking into his eyes I've never seen such rage. I felt scared and turned on at the same time. I don't know what came over me but my inner demons took over and I kissed him.

If only he could love me, if only. I'll be the happiest person in the world. I do not mind walking on fire as long as he will love me, if only he will. But he hates me, my husband hates me. He has a lover.

Similar to the height of Renaissance in Europe, the newspaper had already been invented and exerted a particular amount of influence on the upper class society. However, for various reasons, the press was a niche market amongst the people; the commoners barely had the habit of reading the news.

Benjamin did not plan to push their newspaper to the people, so this did not affect him.

As it was before, the newspaper was basically a business for only the government, but as time passed, the right to this business had opened up to the people. There were two or three press companies in Ferelden; the production chain was not too developed yet but there was already some professional employees. From typography, printing until distribution, there was an easier working model for them to emulate.

Although Benjamin did not know anyone in the business, but… Someone did!

"Mage Vinci, we are preparing to start a newspaper publication, I believe you know some professionals in the business. Could you introduce us to them?"

The day after dispersing, Benjamin used secret codes to get in touch with mage Vinci and met in a secret building. He wanted to ask for help.

Mage Vinci’s expression was, however, one of devastation.

"...What are you up to this time? I’ve let you off on the whole Declaration of the Freedom of Magic issue, I had helped you absorb so much of the pressure for that thing to be distributed successfully. You’re really something. It hasn’t even been two days and now you want to make some newspaper? What on earth are you up to?"

Benjamin scratched his head, laughing in embarrassment: "That… Don’t you worry, I won’t trouble you this time. I just need you to pull some strings for me, we’ll deal with everything after that."

Hearing that, Mage Vinci asked doubtfully, "Really?"

"Of course!"

"...Alright then." There was still some reservation in Mage Vinci’s demeanor, but as it was all to rebel against the Church, he still nodded, and even advised, "Oh right, you had better be careful. The Church has been suspiciously quiet lately, and there seems to be some undercurrent."     

"Don’t worry. We will be very careful."

Regardless of what the situation was now in the City of Snow, they would definitely not get involved. In last night’s meeting, they had discussed and determined the stronghold cities; these were all middle sized cities in Ferelden that were quite a distance away from the City of Snow, and could probably put an end to the influence the Church had on them.

Ever since the serial assassination, the Church had quiet down and been up to god-knows-what. Concerning this, Benjamin of course subconsciously felt that they were holding on to some trump card; therefore he was on high alert and went about his business very carefully.

The situation so far had been good. He could not let the Church use the element of surprise and destroy everything.

Thus, after Mage Vinci had agreed, he quickly put Benjamin in contact with a publication house. However, it was surprising to him that this publication house was not from within Ferelden, but from Carretas.                

"Ferelden’s publication houses have inextricable links to the government officials. So to be on the safe side, you’d best look to them for help." Mage Vinci explained.

Although Benjamin knew Ferelden had links with the Church, but at least… The enemy nearest to them now was the Church’s influence on Ferelden. Carretas was further off, the influence might not be effective.

He had no choice. Although they had published the Declaration of the Freedom of Magic before, that was slightly different from publishing a newspaper. A booklet could be written in a more casual method; as long as there was enough magic knowledge and inspirational quotes, it was good enough. But for a newspaper, they needed professional journalists and artists, in addition to the great necessity of paper and printing.

Because of that, he nodded and did not protest.

"We need articles on these topics, and suitable illustrations. Set the print quota on thirty thousand copies. You have specialized printing presses over in Carrestas. So you should be able to get it done?"

A few days later, in a little city on the borders of Ferelden, Benjamin met up with a representative from the publication house.

"As long as you can meet our fees, anything can be done." The representative rubbed his hands, answering with a grin.

Benjamin nodded.

After learning he standard procedures for the publication of a newspaper from him, he handed over the relevant materials to the representative and paid the deposit. After agreeing on the time for the next meeting, they left the place cautiously.

The name of the newspaper had been determined. It was going to be ‘The Free Mage’.

The influence of the Declaration of the Freedom of Magic still existed amongst the mages. To ride on the trend and cause the mages to feel that this was a continuation of the booklet, he had to continue on this intellectual property and work diligently on making this business a brand of his own.

Benjamin’s first requirement for the articles in the newspaper was that they had to be entertaining enough to attract the mages to continue reading. However, he did not hand over the responsibility for the most important piece of news on the headlines to the publication house’s journalists; he was going to handle that himself.

In the past, Mage Vinci had mentioned to him that, when the Church’s ban had been lifted, there were mages that had gone to the palace to petition the Queen, and subsequently disappeared without a trace. Benjamin had obtained the names and information on all the mages for such a time as this, to be the first list of victims used to criticize the Church.

And so, returning to the City of Rayleigh, Benjamin made arrangements, for his men to move about to begin building the secret strongholds and newspaper channels in every city. On the surface, they seemed to be a newly established publication house. Underground, however, were the secret rooms, tunnels, offices… These were constructed, bit by bit.

In twos and threes, the mages and the mercenaries entered a total of seventeen mid-sized cities, and began their organization’s foundation building.  

As for Benjamin himself, he sat in the hotel looking at the bundles of information next to his hand. He took a deep breath and, on a crisp new piece of paper, wrote the title of his article.

Dipped into ink, in Benjamin’s hand, the tip of the feather pen moved lightly, at a rapid speed, laying line upon line of words on the white paper.

"A true warrior who dared to face a dismal life, brave…"

"...I have never refrained from assuming the worst when judging the Church, however I had never expected…"

In his mind, his consciousness unwillingly repeated in his memory, the text he had learnt back in High School. And he was now editing these words, translating… Finally wrapping it up into an entirely new analytical piece on current affairs.

This was definitely a good opportunity. He was aware of his limited penmanship, he could not reach the level necessary, so he could only borrow the wisdom of his predecessors. He did not intend to profit this way, and did not want to depend on this to copy his way to literary fame. He only wished to borrow these classical discourses and inspire more of the mages’ rebellion. 

He believed that, in the nether world, the masters six feet under would not blame him for this.   






Kubei was just an ordinary pencil and button pusher working a day job, hating his boss and making horrible speeches when one day he fell asleep after pushing an all-nighter. When he woke up, he was bound to a chair, facing three creepy robed women and in a body way too young and way too weak to be his own. As he slowly came to, he realized that he was no longer in the same universe as he was before. He had teleported to the Kingdom of Helius, where an all-powerful church rules its lands and wages war against the elusive group known only as Mages. Armed with an incredibly cocky neural interface that just won’t shut up and his own sheer wit, our MC will find himself not just fighting to survive, but maybe even something bigger than himself.

"You have a nice house." Lee Changhyuk remarked as he was studying the milk girl. The private butler from the previous hotel just dropped his luggage to Shizu's place. It did not take that long for the luggage to come since he deliberately chose a hotel that was close to her neighborhood. And yes he only had one luggage.

Shizu nodded, she did say that he could stay and was beyond happy that the tenant finally did show up. However as soon as she came to the actual realization that the long-stay tenant was verily THE Lee Changhyuk himself- she was losing her mind. Shizu ran to the storage room to get slippers and bathroom amenities. Her mind went blank for awhile, she suddenly forgot her own floor plan and could not find a single thing that she was looking for. 

Changhyuk just watched as Shizu was panicking around the house to look for the amenities. His eyes were sticked to Shizu as he was amused to see the panic milk girl. He would turn his head to the right when shizu went to the right, and he would look to the left when shizu ran to the left. In her head, she was chanting all kind of mantras to keep herself calm. But as you could see... the mantras didn't work.

"Do you need help?" He asked.
"No!!"

Shizu stopped for awhile as she watched Lee Changhyuk quietly nodded like an obedient kid. Feeling bad for refusing him in a harsh tone- she quit moving back and forth aimlessly and took a deep breath to clear her head.

She then fixed her gaze on him. She really didn't mean to be rude. 'You can do this Shizu! He's just another RoomBnB guest! Except he's just THE super VIP guest that always got the first class service and private butler.'

SLAPPED

Yes, she was slapping her cheek real hard in her mind. She was going crazy! She wondered where did all of her calmness go. Aaaaargh maybe she should have just told him to leave. But it's too late already, right? That naughty boy instantly turned into a happy puppy as soon as she told him that he could stay. She felt that the deities would punish her if she ever changed her mind! Now all she had to do was to act cool in front of THE Lee Changhyuk so he wouldn't think of her as another-annoying-GreenEast fan!

Little did she know that she was obviously far from cool.

On the other hand, Changhyuk was trying so hard to hide the amusement from his face as Shizu was staring intensely at him without blinking nor saying anything. He could tell that the milk Girl was having an endless monologue inside her head and only God knows, how much he wanted to wink at her and asked what she was thinking. But nope! Not yet! He still didn't want her to throw him out on the street just yet! The milk girl was still not opening up to him. The robotic attitude that she showed when something was bothering her head... Oh milk girl, why did you have to be so cute?

"Just rest and I'll call you when everything's ready. On this floor we have 2 regular bedrooms next to the dining room and upstairs you have the biggest room." She finally explained.

"Then I'll take the biggest room?" Changhyuk shot his brows up like a kid asking for permission from his elder sister. 

Well, instead of negotiating he did pay a handsome amount of money upfront, for the three rooms. And with that puppy eyes... YES. He could sleep in any room that he wanted. He could even sleep in one room, exercise in another room and put his clothes in the big room. If he was an amoeba she wouldn't mind if he divided himself and slept in all three rooms at the same time. Shizu nodded her head firmly as an answer and gestured him to go upstairs.

"Shitsurei shimasu. (1)" Changhyuk excused himself.

He took his big luggage and climbed the stairs. Shizu could hear hisfoot step as he climbed up then came back to where she left off. Looking for the slippers! Tokyo Katagiri Cordial Residence was definitely not a 5 star hotel but it always received a minimum 8/10 rating from the guests! Now that Lee Changhyuk's in his room she could prepare everything flawlessly and maintain her reputation as the super host! 

"Whoaa you have all of our albums! Even the Mandarin one!?" She could hear him yelling happily from the second floor.

Shizu stopped her movement for a while as she tried to digest what Lee Changhyuk just said. What did he just say? There's no GreenEast album in the Big Room. Unless.....

She ran for her life for the very first time. She swore to all deities that she had never put that much effort in running. Shizu went to her room and panted like crazy as she was desperately gasping for more air to clear her head.

She could see Lee Changhyuk leaning one hand to the wall and resting the other hand inside of his pocket. Upon her arrival, he turned his head towards Shizu and she could spot there was a pen between his natural wet lips. 

Changhyuk turned his head back to study the 'scrap corner' where Shizu sticked all of her personal collections which consisted of: GreenEast posters and some inspirational quotes. His white-pearl-teeth slightly gritted as he removed the cap from the barrel. Still holding the cap between that pouty lips, he put the ballpoint tip on top of a picture of himself and started to move his hand to draw a beautiful signature.

Shizu's cheeks were fuming red in embarassment.
"LEE CHANGHYUUUUK!!!!"

Nung natapos kong hulugan ang binili kong bahay, pakiramdam ko nabunutan ako ng tinik. Siyempre, nawalan ka na ng kargo't may maipagmamalaki ka nang pinagpaguran mo matapos ang matagal na pagtatrabaho. Pero di ko maiwasang maramdamang parang kadena 'tong bahay sa akin, considering kung ano ang plano ko dito noon – hindi, plano pala naming dalawa na di rin naman natuloy.

Tatlong oras ang biyahe mula sa bahay ng parents ko papunta sa Bulacan. Corner lot sa socialized housing lang naman iyon pero hindi birong hulugan kung wala kang matinong sweldo. Kahit ilang beses kong sinabing sila na ang tumira roon ayaw nila, lalo na ang nanay ko dahil di daw niya mabibisita mga amiga niya.

Akala ko isang ghost town ang lugar pagdating ko. Nag-iisa lang ang subdivision na iyon sa gitna ng talahiban, walang pinagbago ang paligid simula nang tinayo iyon 10 years ago. Karamihan sa mga bahay ay merong may-ari pero walang nakatira, madalas dahil nasa ibang bansa sila't pinapabayaran lang sa mga kamag-anak ang mga iyon.

"Nandyan ka na ba, anak?" Tanong ng nanay ko matapos sagutin ang biglang tawag niya. Tinitignan ko noon ang mga furniture na binili niya - lahat mukhang sosyal para sa isang hamak na row house, balot pa sa plastik at halatang walang gumalaw.

"Nandito na po ako." Magalang kong sagot. Masaya man akong maganda ang taste niya, di ko napigilang isiping di ata bagay sa personality ko yung mga gamit. Para bang...napaka-macho't boring. Kung nandito lang sana ako noon, kinulit ko mga kaibigan kong pinturahan ang mga pader ng inspirational quotes o kaya nagpagawa ako ng bookshelf abot kisame hanggang sahig, para bang kung paano namin inisip ang magiging itsura ng bahay na 'to noon.

Pero wala naman na siya kaya kaya kung anumang balak kong gawin sa bahay, sa akin na lang iyon.

"Ayan ha, di mo masasabing tinipid namin iyang bahay mo. Kumpleto lahat ng gamit diyan." Pagmamalaki niya habang binubuting-ting ko ang mga appliances sa kusina. Kung nandito lang siya, mapagluluto kaya niya ako habang sinasabay ang pagkanta gaya ng dati?

"Grabe naman ma, sana ginastos mo na lang sa bahay yung pinambili mo kaysa dito sa akin." Yung bahay niya sa Fairview ang tinutukoy ko. "Ayos lang naman sa aking simple, eh."

"Umiiral na naman pagka-kuripot mo! Nag-abroad ka pa kung titipirin mo sarili mo. Ayaw mo pang bumili ng kotse, wala ka namang anak. Saan mo balak ilagay pera mo niyan?"

"Hindi ko rin sigurado kung titira ako dito..." Magulong isip ko.

"Anak, ilang beses ko nang sinabi sa iyo, di ako interesadong lumipat diyan. Di ko maiwan 'tong negosyo." Yung sub-con ng mga garments ang tinutukoy niya, na pinondohan gamit ang remittances ko noon. "Saka sa iyo nakapangalan iyan, kaya ikaw ang may karapatang gumamit. Akala ko ba pinangako mo sa aking di ka na babalik abroad ngayong tapos na iyang bahay?"

"Sayang naman kasi ang opportunity, ma."

Alam kong pinangako ko sa kanya iyon, pero hindi ko matanggihan ang opportunity na mag-abroad ulit. Nakakahinayang ding iwan ko yung maganda ko nang trabaho abroad para lang magpalipat sa Pilipinas. Mukhang umaayos naman ang mga bagay-bagay sa bagong gobyerno pero kapag nasa gitna ka ng traffic, di mo pa rin maiwasang mawalan ng gana. Sa bagay, mas mahirap ang buhay sa ibang bansa kahit malaki ang sweldo. Imposibleng makabili ng bahay na wala pang isang milyon abroad.

"Puro na lang trabaho ang iniisip mo; wala ka bang balak mag-settle down? Mag-asawa, magka-anak, ganun?" Sabay tawa ng kausap ko sa kabilang linya. Alam kong biro lang iyon dahil simula nang makilala ko siya, alam ng nanay kong di niya ako mapipilit maghanap ng babae. O kahit sino siguro.

Heto nga, mukhang pinapamukha niya iyon sa akin dahil sa picture frame na nakalagay sa kusina. Picture naming dalawa, nung pumasa ako sa board exam dalawang taon matapos niya. Panahong di pa namin sigurado anong meron sa amin at ang alam lang ng nanay ko'y masyado lang kaming close.

"Nakita mo na ba yung kusina?"

"Ah, oo...maganda." Sabi ko tungkol sa mga appliances. O baka tungkol sa picture na iyon. "Dito siguro muna ako matutulog ngayon, ma."
