After an nonstop three day baking binge, Benedictus Agnes, finds himself transported to another world. Unlike other heroes, he is suddenly sent to the Backend, a small town overlooking the sea. 
Dropped in the middle of nowhere, our hero only has one plan: get cooking!

Two or three days later, he was there in the classroom during the interval and was called to give his introduction. He introduced himself and as a task which each of us has to perform he was asked to give the recipe for Rajma( Famous North Indian dish) in his local dialect. I listened to him intently and he gave the recipe perfectly, I was impressed. 
I don't know if he happened to notice me . Things didn't escalate right then. Being the kind of person I am , conversation between us would never have been initiated. So the first semester passed by smoothly. Did I have feelings for him at that time, I don't know. Did we ever talk ? I don't think so . Because a simple Hi from my side would require a lot of efforts. 
I am shy. He is bold. I'm not tall and he's really tall. He's popular but not many people know me. So did I like him on the very day of introduction, too soon to say Yes. But I began to notice him from then. Sneaking actually. Not stalking. But that was not love . I wanted to gain his attention .... that's it . Teenage curiosity I believe. But I was already an adult so situation remained largely under my control. Then came our second semester.
We didn't talk right away. Being the studious kind I used to lend notes to everybody. He was also one of the recipients but still not a reason enough to start talking. I got a friend request from him on Facebook one day when I came back from University. I was elated and accepted it at once. So after six months we did become fb friends. But we didn't exchange messages not even a single Hi !!.

While he was savoring the taste of tea, he was hearing the rumors and chats of locals around.

"Have you heard that Hirosha went to the valley yesterday to gather some medicine for his sick mother, and is missing after that."

"FOOL!!! Who told him to go there? That valley is cursed, now he must have become a sheep or goat by now."

"He is a nice and courageous man in my eyes, at least he risked his life to save his mother. He had no other relative so he was living only for his mother, and only way to save his mother was to gather those herbs or pay huge sum to modern doctors. He can't afford the fees of such doctors and thus he had only one way left and that was to step in that cursed valley."

"Hey!!...Isn't he Master Stonexia Yrrah?"

"What? Where?"

Stonexia immediately left the restaurant with his super speed and activated invisible mode. He had already left a bundle of cash on the table before leaving for payment of his tea.
"Whew!! Rich people can't even eat at peace in restaurants nowadays." complained Stonexia.

Stonexia didn't know whether he should laugh or cry. Stonexia waited for the man who praised Hirosha earlier and followed him in invisible mode, and when he was alone then he showed himself and asked the man about Hirosha by handing over a stack of money in his hands. Then the man who was very happy with his free earning, brought him towards the hut of Hirosha where an old woman was lying on the floor and seemed unconscious over a ragged cloth. It was an hut made of mud and grass. Stonexia checked her nerves and found that she was still alive. He immediately called helpline number of Ambulance and within 10 minutes ambulance arrived, then he hurriedly picked her up without caring about getting himself dirty from the poor and low class clothes of the woman, and respectfully put her body on the stretcher and instructed ambulance staff to get her treated in the best hospital nearby and all bill is to be paid by Yrrah's Endless Supplies branch of Assam. He informed his dad about this as well and he happily arranged best doctors to visit the hospital where the woman was admitted. Travelling Expenses of air tickets for doctors was also paid by Mr. Yrrah. Now his dad didn't responded in his earlier tone of being a scrooge, because after seeing system he also believes that he is nothing but a frog in a well in the enormous universe. 

After arranging for Hirosha's mother, he teleported to the valley and immediately started running at his super speed in invisible mode. His speed is so fast currently that he can travel whole India in half an hour at his normal speed and even faster at full speed. And it didn't took long for him to locate herd of goats and sheep and it was the same herd that he saw earlier as well when he teleported at news location. He scouted them using OPS, and found that people are really being converted to goats and sheep here. He has also located the Hirosha among those sheeps who was crying for being unable to help his mother. Stonexia used OPS Communication to tell him not to worry as he has taken care of his mother and sent her to the best hospital of Assam for her treatment. Hirosha was just eighteen years old and didn't suspected a stranger so he easily believed Stonexia and started licking the feet of Stonexia in his sheep's form to show his respect after hearing this. For him nothing was more important than his mother that's why he risked even his life without giving a second thought to find a herb in this cursed valley. But Stonexia hurriedly moved away his feet and felt really awkward after getting his foot licked. Later Stonexia brought him away from the herd of sheep and goats. 

Stonexia asked him how he got converted to sheep? Then he told about a witch staying in a hut towards north. She chanted some magic in front of him to convert him into sheep. Stonexia contacted System to ask a cure for this magic. 

**Host is annoying system too much, it's an minor issue which host can resolve himself, please let the system sleep. Zzzzz....**

Stonexia as usual was dropping his jaws on haughtiness of the system. But he realized that he was relying on system too much so he decided to start investigating himself first and ask for system's help only after reaching a dead end. 

Then he started moving towards the hut in invisible mode, he didn't mind Hirosha seeing him becoming invisble. First of all Hirosha has already seen magic by his current condition, and second he was not even eighteen years old and had a really kind and courageous heart. That's why Stonexia has decided to make him system's disciple later after solving his current crisis. 

Stonexia peeped through the window of the hut to see a beautiful fairy like girl brewing some sort of potion on a huge pot. She was constantly throwing wool and milk from sheep and goat while brewing the potion and was chanting some incantations from an old book in her hand. He scouted the level of the witch and found it to be only at Level 3. 

**Level 3 (fake)**

He overlooked (fake) word and Overestimating himself he foolishly undid the invisibility and appeared in front of witch and asked, "Who are you? What are you doing? Why are you converting innocent people into sheep and goats?"

Witch got alert at once and immediately murmured some incantations to summon a massive golem, which unearthed itself by digging out an hole from underground and punched towards Stonexia, which sent him flying outside the house. After coughing out some blood, he scouted the Golem to find its level at 20.3. Another punch was coming towards Stonexia, but this time he was prepared and switched to live mode and used inventory and unsheathed 'Overpowered Sword' and chopped the limbs first, and then chopped neck of the golem after dodging the punch, and system notifications rang in his head signifying that he had defeated the Golem. And due to live mode experience points were massive as well which immediately leveled him up. This was his first ever kill in the live mode.

**Congratulations for reaching Level 20.....**

Not repeating his foolishness, without wasting even a second, Stonexia became a blur and appeared behind witch and used inventory to bring out bandages and gagged the witch to prevent her from speaking her incantations. Stonexia then used OPS Communication to talk with her via thoughts...

"If you don't want to die, then tell about yourself and speak up the reason for converting people into cattle? Also what are you brewing? How did you obtain that book?"

She was straightforward and didn't intended to hide anything already. Moreover, she got scared seeing the strength and speed of this man and spilled out the beans immediately.

"My name is Maya Witch. I was an orphan, and was raised by an alien golem named Zingalu Sungla. Earlier the golem you fought was magical intent of him only, which he left for my protection. I inherited this book and knowledge from my master only, who claimed to be from planet Dorra three solar systems away from ours at 323880998098, -33929302342034 coordinates of our universe. He left Earth 3 years ago to go back to his planet to check on the status of his planet as there was some imminent danger to his race on his planet, but he didn't returned which probably means he is either captured or dead."

"In fact, he arrived on Earth 20 years ago during his search of life in other planets, only to pass on his inheritance to someone before his race being wiped out from the face of the universe. I am under his care from past 17 years since I was born. He assigned me task to brew this potion for 4 years. The potion i am brewing is to be used on his planet for resurrection of their race, as per the instructions in this book. I am brewing this potion from past three years already. Now this potion will be completed after one year, and until then i have to pour large quantities of wool and milk in it as per its recipe in the book. And I can't use real cattle's milk and wool for this and only magically converted cattle can be used to brew this potion as per the book."

Stonexia scouted on Maya and found that she spoke the truth. Now he really can't blame this woman for doing something evil as well, and found that it's reasonable for her to do so. He also found out that Maya is not a human but belongs to alien species named as Faeria from Planet Nibiru which is supposed to be in our own solar system only, maybe it's still undiscovered. This race has innate magical talents. After becoming adult they will grow up a pair of wings as well to fly. And they are capable of raising and suppressing their strength.  That's why earlier scouting revealed her level to be at 3. But now reading all details, Stonexia asked from system the actual level of Maya and found it to be at 16. 

He was also surprised to know that just intent of an alien Golem was at Level 20.3, so how strong he must be himself? And there's someone who is threatening even their race, then how strong that existence would be? Frog in a well, that's so true for him even after reaching Level 20.

Suddenly Stonexia remembered about the outer space teleportation node under the Indian Ocean as reported by World News of OPS earlier. Maybe that was the node linking the two solar systems, and Dorra used that node to arrive on Earth 20 years ago and he used the same for leaving the earth 3 years ago.

Stonexia Yrrah who was an poor simpleton loved reading novels with op characters and playing games. Rest of his social life was totally dull. He rarely stepped out of his house. Even his neighbors don't know about his existence. Of course the reasons for this is  society itself which used to bully him when he was kid. When he became adult he was bullied by college mates. Being poor even his parents couldn't support him or protect him from his bullies. After college, which he barely passed by minimum grade he had hard time finding a job to earn money. Even in job he was bullied by seniors and once he was forced to resign as well by a senior who wanted to use him as a stepping stone. After losing job, he has nowhere to go, nowhere to live, he was afraid to do suicide as well being a coward, so he simply pleaded to lord and asked for the reason of his existence? He just demanded one thing if their is no reason for his existence then simply provide him a painless death.

Lu Mingshu answered, "Can you give me a rough description of the content?"
"Eh," the other party was startled for a moment. "So it's a little sister. Of course."
The focus of the book on Basic Alchemy was in the word 'basic'. Starting from the herbs, it detailedly introduced the reader to the basics of the alchemical world.
"Which is to say, there isn't a pill recipe?" The recipes were undoubtedly the most precious part of alchemy.
The other party paused for a moment before replying, "There is only one pill recipe, which is the Congeal Constituent Pill …"
Lu Mingshu hesitated once she heard that. With two different worlds came two different types of Spirit Medicine. Would it not be a waste if that one Pill Recipe required an ingredient that was unavailable in my current world? Entering and leaving the Heavenly Wheel involved the consumption of a large portion of the item's mystic force, which didn't make for a worthwhile exchange for either party.
"Fellow Daoist," The youth continued, "I needn't speak anymore of how useful alchemy is, but it is also not easy to find such a detailed book on the introduction of alchemy."
Lu Mingshu was aware of this, but something still bothered her …
When she spoke of her concerns, the youth immediately replied cheerfully, "There's no need to be worried about this, as the Congeal Constitution Pill is the most basic pill over here. Anyone with a bit of skill in pill refining will be able to refine this pill. This same recipe has myriad variations. Not only does each sect have its own unique recipe, but every alchemist would also have their own secret recipe too. Basically, you could refine this pill by throwing any kind of substitute in. Although my Congeal Constituent Pill only consists of a single pill recipe, it contains more than ten kinds of combinations to mix and match the components. There should definitely be a version you can refine – otherwise, you can just refine based on its principle."
This is okay too?
Lu Mingshu was a little dumbfounded.
"Rest assured, you would not be at a loss if you trade!" the youth said. "I am anxious too. I have to go on a training expedition in ten days and need to make a whole body of protective leather. Were that not the case, I could have exchanged for a finished product right away if I were to take my time and bargain for a better price."
Lu Mingshu believed this point. A book on alchemy was a scarce resource, whereas the hide and claws of a demonic beast were not. The two had similar worth, but the book on alchemy still sold better.
"Well, okay." Lu Mingshu paused for a moment of thought. "Right, can I ask how the mystic ores in your world are generally used?"
"Mystic ore?" The youth quickly understood, "Oh. My world should call it spirit ore? It depends on what kind of ore it is. It is generally used to refine a Device Array, as the simplest use for it is to extract spiritual energy for cultivation …"
Lu Mingshu noted it down seriously. The two then opened a special channel to carry out the trade.
After the trade, Lu Mingshu left the Heavenly Wheel.
She carefully opened the semi-old book adorned with lines.
This one look and she was unable to stop.
After Lu Mingshu read the whole book on Basic Alchemy in one go, she let out a long breath and rubbed her dizzy head.
No wonder Brother Six had told her that the alchemy of the world of Xianxia was the most miraculous, given their excellent medical knowledge, unlike the magic world where people were restricted by rules and regulations.
That youth had not lied to her. The Congeal Constituent Pill recorded in the book could be said to have no known limit in derivatives for the ingredients. As long as she grasped the key, the pill recipe was irrelevant. It would at most result in her refining a pill of lower efficacy.
She put away the book and confidently began practising her sword technique.
After the fight with the demonic wolf, her internal mystic force had increased and her strength had improved vastly.
When dinner was over, Liu Jizhen suddenly said, "Go and play at Willow Woods tomorrow."
Lu Mingshu was stunned for a moment, nodding, "Mhmm …"
On the second day after breakfast, Lu Mingshu left for Willow Woods.
Willow Woods was a little distance away from Green Jade Valley. Without any means of transportation, she had reached Willow Woods by foot when the sun already stood at its zenith and glared down at her.
Willow Woods did not inhabit a single willow tree despite the name, and the topography in the area consisted of one large, gentle slope. The Willow Woods residence itself was built on a gigantic rock on the other side of the said gentle slope.
At this moment, the Willow Woods residence was very quiet with no signs of life insight. Lu Mingshu felt a little helpless as she stood underneath the gigantic rock.
How am I to climb up such a high rock without anything in my surroundings that could assist me in climbing up?
Without a choice, she could only call out, "Gao Xiang! Gao Xiang, are you around?"
After she had called out three times, someone ran out from Willow Woods.
Gao Xiang waved excitedly towards her when he spotted her below, "Lu Mingshu, it's you! I am around!"
With that, he jumped down from a – not sure where he got it – rattan rope and dropped down in front of her. "You finally came, I thought you had forgotten!"
If not for her Master's reminder, Lu Mingshu would have truly forgotten. She was a busy girl, spending a majority of her time reading books in order to understand the various worlds described in the Heavenly Wheel. That included books from Heavenly Ascension Pavilion as well as the books from the other worlds that she had acquired through various exchanges. She still had to practice her techniques and even do chores – she couldn't always let Master cook his meals, right?
"Come, let us go up!"
Gao Xiang grabbed the rattan rope, climbing up with a whoosh! like a monkey.
Lu Mingshu pulled on the rope, and after finding it solid, she followed behind him with a pattern.
"Walk this way." Once she entered the Willow Woods residence, Lu Mingshu discovered a different view in the back. Past the residence itself, the sight of a large flat grassland, a small meandering stream, and the shade under the leafy canopy of a green willow tree entered one's vision.
Tables and chairs were arranged under the willow tree with someone seated on the chair.
With hair as white as snow and the appearance of a young man, this someone was Zhuo Jiangui.
Lu Mingshu went over to bow, "Martial Granduncle Zhuo."
Zhuo Jiangui, who had his eyes closed, slowly opened his eyes when he heard the sound. He looked towards her and nodded once.
The sensations of a cold intent enshrouding her in mist struck her again. This greatly alarmed her. What kind of art does this Martial Granduncle Zhuo actually train in?


Lu Mingshu had never believed in fate.
She hadn’t believed in it when her father had remarried and caused her family to break into pieces, nor had she believed in it when she’d been thrown into a valley to perish.
She hadn’t believed in it when she didn’t have any resources to cultivate with, nor had she believed in it when she’d been condemned by everyone.
She climbed up little by little from dust, while her reign soared into the sky, which caused the world to look on in fear!
If justice doesn’t come, I’ll personally obtain it.
If fate disregards me, I‘ll open up a way to survive.
No matter what fate throws at me, I will surely become a phoenix!
“What a ruthless woman. I’m willing to risk my life and limbs for you, willing to be calculative for you – I’m even willing to be an enemy of the entire world for you. Aren’t you moved even a little?”
“That’s right, since I‘m such a ruthless woman, what exactly is it that you like about me?"

Aditya had a little puzzled expression on his face as he roasted the spices before grinding them. When Anupama came out, and Qaima greeted her, Aditya was under the impression that Qaima would meet him before leaving even if she did not eat here.

 But Qaima gave the same curt nod to him from a distance and went away before he could ask her to stay a little. What was her problem? They were at least acquaintances if not friends. What would Qaima lose if she chatted a little with him?

  Well, anyway, there was not anything that Aditya could do about it. He remembered that Maahi had asked him to be nice to her, but Qaima did not even give him the chance to be anything. Aditya shrugged and mixed the spices in the chicken dish while increasing the flame.

Aditya removed the baking tray from the oven which was steaming hot. Kumari's mouth started salivating when she saw the small golden brown baby potato pieces. She couldn't wait to grab a bit, but when Kumari was about to act on her impulse, Aditya pulled the tray away as the dish was not completed yet. He took a bowl of finely chopped parsley and sprinkled the pieces around the dish and mixed it up. Aditya portioned a part of the meal onto a porcelain plate and offered it to Kumari along with the chicken dish.

The chicken dish was a south Indian item called 'Chettinad Pepper Chicken' while the potato one was the continental dish 'Lemon Parsley Potatoes'. Kumari took a silver fork and ate a piece from the potato dish. Her eyes closed in ecstasy as she savoured the flavour. The potato was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The taste was evenly distributed, and everything was perfect. Kumari knew that Aditya never had a talent in cooking when he was young. She did not care about the reason behind this sudden upsurge of skill. It was fine as long as Kumari knew that she got a free skilled cook who could keep the glutton in her happy. 

 This dish was quite simple, with no dose of spices like your general Indian dishes. But still, it was enough to get Kumari started. As for the chicken dish, it was a 100% Indian dish with loads of spices like cumin seeds, coriander seeds, dry red chillies, whole black pepper, cinnamon and cardamom pods. It was a succulent Tamilian recipe famous for its spiciness.  

 As there was no Indian bread like naan available, Aditya took a few pieces of pita-bread as a substitute for Kumari to eat alongside the chicken dish. Both naan and pita bread are similar but a little different (Pita bread is a little tougher and drier). But it will do.

"Enjoying all by yourself, ah?" Kavya teased as she took a seat next to Kumari. Bhadra and Jatin joined as well. Bhadra had finished socialising with acquaintances and business affiliates. Jatin had the odour of wine around him, but he only drank a little.  

 Kumari raised her head and said something while her mouth was stuffed with bread and chicken.  No one could understand her. Aditya felt that Kumari's current words could almost be matched with her calligraphy.

"It's fine, Kumari. Eat first, and we can talk later," Kavya said with a smile. Kumari foolishly grinned as she continued to eat.

"Oy chef, one 'Pasta Carbonara Florentine' for me," Jatin ordered as if Aditya was a street vendor on a busy street. Kumari raised her head in confusion as she did not know this item. Aditya, who was preparing to make a dessert, raised his head to tell Jatin to get lost. But before he could do so...

"One Bhaigan Bharta for me," Kavya also said in the same ordering tone. Aditya could not scold Kavya as he would do to Jatin. So he was about to look at Bhadra for help but...

"Chicken Tikka for me. Make it double spicy for me," Bhadra said as he looked at Aditya with a grinning face.  Aditya wanted to throw the frying pan at these fellows. Clearly, these idiots loved the french cuisine and yet they ganged up to make things difficult to him. 

"Bhadra, Jatin, can't you see that Aditya is injured? How could you make him cook when he is like this? Kumari, Kavya, if you want something, then I will get it for you. Also, I have asked the manager to call a few chefs. So you can order anything you want. Don't bother Adi, is it clear?" Anupama joined them and said in a stern but soft tone. 

Aditya turned to smile at Anupama who had come into the kitchen station as well. A couple of chefs followed her. Anupama also smiled back at Aditya as her eyes glittered. She came near Aditya and whispered so that only Aditya could hear, "Adi, I liked the gift that you have given very much. Thank you so much. It means a lot to me."

Anupama had gone away in the middle of the party as she was somewhat curious about the gifts given by her friends. Especially she wanted to find out Aditya's gift. This longing was unreasonable but insatiable. So, Anupama excused herself on the pretext of going to the restroom to check the gifts. As expected, Aditya's gift almost melted her heart. It was like Aditya knew who she was in her heart. It was by far the best gift she had ever received.

Aditya smiled when he saw that Anupama was happy with his gift. As her best friend for more than a decade in the dreamworld, Aditya precisely knew what would hit the right place. He shook his head with a smile as he patted Anupama's hand and said with limpid eyes, "you look gorgeous tonight. Anu, remember that only those who do not wish to see the real truth can be deceived. Be careful. No matter what happens in the future, don't forget that you have a friend in me to rely on." 

Anupama smiled as a small crimson shade spread across her cheeks when she heard the first sentence. But after hearing the latter half, Anupama was a little puzzled, but Aditya did not explain further, and she could only take it as general advice. Aditya did not expect Anupama to understand the hidden caution in his words, but it was fine as long as she could remember these words.   

Anupama's face glowed in a way which was never seen before. Aditya knew that it was because of her father's 'confession'. Her smile, voice and demeanour exuded a graceful charm like a blossoming flower. Aditya knew the kind of pain that Anupama felt because of her parents. Even though he was sure that her father had not changed, Aditya wished to see Anupama remain like she was now. He did not want to see Anupama suffering again.

 But Aditya was a little helpless, he could save her from physical harm, but Aditya did not know the way to protect Anupama's heart. Because the moment she knew that her father had not changed and all of his act was just because she was somewhat 'useful', Anupama was sure to break down again. It may be even more severe as V.V. Acharya did not make Anupama hopeful, in the dream world, like he was doing now.  

The others could only give up teasing Aditya when they saw that Anupama had come to his rescue. In fact, they had already finished their dinner and had no plans of eating anymore. Kumari wanted to fume when she saw Aditya and Anupama being 'too' close to each other. But in the end, the foodie in her won, and she went back to eating the mouthwatering chicken.

Aditya, a 16-year-old teenager dreaming of becoming a professional Formula racer, currently studying in an international school is dealing with the biggest crisis of his life. He had been informed by the police that his parents have gone missing leaving no clue behind. 

To add on to his misery, Aditya has been sleeping 14 hrs a day due to an unknown reason for the past two weeks. He had been dreaming an alternate world where the 'other' Aditya lives the exact same life as him. 

But, things became more intriguing when the events in his dream started diverging from his real-life events. For one, his parents did not go missing in his dreams. They were safe and sound. Later in his dream life, Aditya went on to continue his studies in Europe and later became an F1 racer just like he aimed for while in real life, he got himself expelled from his school and started working in a garage as a mechanic. A world of difference.

Accompany Aditya on a journey filled with many impossibilities as he comes in contact with many hidden truths the world is unaware of, in his quest of rescuing his parents.

14. Don't yell at Life 
 
Listen: Any addiction you carry, whether it is alcohol, smoking, or even an addiction to worrying, shows clearly that you don't have respect for your life. Any incompletion you carry shows that you don't have respect for Life! And many times, because you don't have respect for Life, Life responds the same way towards you. 
I have a story: A shy guy goes into a bar. He sees a beautiful woman sitting at the bar. After an hour, gathering up his courage this guy must be an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) newly gone to the West from an Indian village - he finally goes over to her and asks, 'Do you mind if I chat with you for a while?' The woman responds by yelling at the top of her lungs, 'WHAT? What do you mean? No. I won't sleep with you tonight!' 
The guy is shocked. Everyone in the bar is now staring at them. Naturally, the guy is now hopelessly and completely embarrassed. He just slinks back to his table. He sits quietly, putting his head down. 
After a few minutes, the woman walks over to him and apologizes. She smiles at him and says. 'I am sorry if I embarrassed you. I am a journalist and I have an assignment to study how people respond to embarrassing situations. So I was studying how you would respond.' Suddenly, this guy raises his head and shouts at the top of his lungs. 'WHAT? What do you mean you need two hundred dollars?' 
Understand when you yell at life, life yells at you. When you try to embarrass life, life embarrasses you. When you don't respect life, life will not respect you. And don't imagine that you continuously respect life. If you are spending your time in worrying, you don't have respect for life! If you are spending your time in incompletion, you are embarrassing life. If you are not looking into your life. you are disrespecting life. Please understand if you yell at  Life, naturally Life will be waiting to yell at you.

"Pill Recipe?" The appraiser looked at Mo Xie up and down before sighing: "Sure, just give it to me to be appraised."
Seeing this person's attitude, Mo Xie sighed: "You must have been working very hard, I need to talk to any of your highest managing people."
The appraiser frowns: "Do you think your useless recipe couldn't be appraised by someone like me?! Hmmp! You're thinking too much of your item, our Auction Hall's elders has no time for it, if you don't want it appraised, then, you can just go away and sell it to other people instead!"
The tone of the arrogant, something Mo Xie didn't want to use nor to hear. Mo Xie's lips crept up as he looked at the appraiser: "I will be selling Ancient Pill Recipe, a complete recipe of hundreds of thousands of years ago, here, appraise it for me, if you can't..."
Mo Xie didn't continue his words, he merely smiled at the appraiser.
The appraiser looked at Mo Xie and trembled as his eyes met his. The pure black pupils of Mo Xie sent shivers run down his spine before he gulps down a mouthful of saliva before trying to calm himself.
"Hmmp, what kind of barbarian can get their hands on an Ancient Pill Recipe!" The appraiser chuckles as he picked up the paper and started reading it.
Pill Recipe appraising can only be done by pill concoction experts because one needs to combine the properties of the medicine inside their head to conclude the effects of such a pill.
And if a stupid idiot does appraise it, well...
At first, the Appraiser's face looked smug but then, as he read the description, sweat started to appear all over his body.
"Well? Do you even understand a quarter of it? How about a tenth?" Mo Xie looked at the appraiser as he chuckles.
The appraiser looked at Mo Xie, yes, he couldn't even understand a tenth of it, he stood up before kneeling on the ground: "Deepest apologies, I couldn't see mt.t-"
Before he could even finish his generic words, Mo Xie cut him off: "Just call your supervisor, I need to talk to him now."
"Y-yes!" The appraiser spoke trembling, he then added: "Y-young expert, about the matter earlier..."
Mo Xie nods his head: "Yes, yes, you have a sick mother, you have children to feed, you have a wife waiting for you at home, now get your supervisor."
The appraiser nodded repeatedly and immediately entered the room, after a while, a person started to walk out in a rushed yet calm manner.
"Young expert, are you the one that brought the ancient pill recipe?"
Mo Xie nods his head, he placed the recipe again and let the newly arrived appraiser check up on the recipe.
The Appraiser's expression slowly stiffens as he froze on the spot, his gaze moves from the recipe and to Mo Xie: "This... young expert, where did you get this?"
"Oh? The Alchemist Association Auction Hall probes into other people's private business?" Mo Xie smirked, based on the library within the Alchemy Association that has knowledge of even the higher plain, all of Mo Xie's pill recipes had been long gone extinct and had been swallowed up by the passage of time.
Mo Xie immediately held a lot of plans for his knowledge, and right now, the Alchemy Association is part of it.
The Elderly Appraiser frowns, his greed can be seen within his eyes, but the recipe lacks three vital ingredients, if he forced someone out of it, he'll definitely receive the ire of the upper management.
He maintained his composure and replied: "Young expert, It is not that I wish to keep this recipe, I was merely startled by it. How about instead of selling it to the auction house, I purchase it directly?"
Mo Xie chuckles, he has at least 1,000 mortal recipes on his mind, he only regrets that he didn't get many more to sell in the low-level plains.
Mo Xie smiled and replied: "No, I want it auctioned instead."
The Elderly Appraiser's frown deepens: "Think about it for a moment, if you sell this item to me, you will get a favor from me, but if you don't... The consequences will be hard for you to imagine, young expert."
Mo Xie chuckles: "Are you threatening me?"
The Elderly Appraiser chuckles: "You aren't worth me making some troubles for you, with a mere flick of my fingers, I can let a whole kingdom hunt you to the end."
"Now young expert, why not sell it to me instead? I will give you a hundred gold taels for it." 
"A hundred gold taels." Mo Xie couldn't help but chuckle: "How about this, I will give you three seconds to piss off and call someone higher than you."
Mo Xie isn't really that worried about the pill recipe, but what he hates the most is others having malicious intentions over him or something of his.
The Elderly Appraiser chuckles, he crumbled the piece of paper before burning it to smithereens before he started to walk inside the room again: "Good, good, get out of my Alchemy Association now, you aren't welcome here anymore, not now, and not in the future."
Mo Xie sneered: "Your words represent the Alchemy Association?"
The Appraiser chuckles: "If I say so, then that is the rule you must adhere to."
"Is that right." Mo Xie smiled, although it's not his style, he immediately walked out of the Auction hall and made his way to another room.
The Elderly Appraiser sneered: "Bumpkin."
He then looked at his subordinate: "Bring two of my subordinates and kill that fool as soon as he leaves the Alchemy Association's territory, loot everything he has and bring it back to me!"
The lowly appraiser shuddered, he could see the clear greed within the Elderly Appraiser's eyes, he couldn't reject the order and replied: "Yes, it will be done!"
Mo Xie, on the other hand, has no plans to leave right now, his Mo Family does not have enough power to contend against the Alchemy Association's power, but that doesn't mean he has no measures to counter it.
But then again, his only feud is against an elder from the Alchemist Association, not the organization itself.
Mo Xie made his way towards the mission board, there are seven levels in the mission board, from the lowest F grade to the highest S grade. But there are usually two more hidden levels, SS grade, and SSS grade.
Mo Xie asked an attendant: "Is there a mission higher than the S grade?"
The attendant that Mo Xie asked was shocked, she didn't think that Mo Xie would request such a thing, but then again, the head of their association specified that if someone asked for it, they will bring it out.
But why? Because only a few that handled or had given something like that will know the existence of the SS and SSS grade, they are people that dealt with S grade ranked board missions and completed it.
Mo Xie's words caused the surrounding people to be shocked as they looked at Mo Xie, a youth not older than 20 years old is actually requesting such a thing? They couldn't help but sneer at such a thought.
"What's that kid even thinking? Higher than S grade? Does he even know how hard an S grade mission is? And he's even asking for something harder?!" A mercenary scowled loudly, clearly not hiding his mocking tone.
Of course, the others didn't forget to insult as well.
"An S rank mission usually gets completed once or twice every year, sometimes, there would be a whole decade that it wouldn't even be done, now, a brat that still smells of his mother's milk is asking for something higher?"
"Hahaha!"
The others jeered and added more and more insult as they laughed. These people aren't ones that complete any high-risk missions, they merely choose to do some low-level ones like gathering herbs, hunting demonic beasts for their cores, sometimes, there will be an escort mission to escort a disciple out of the Alchemist Association to a place to gather some resources.
These mercenaries live their way through the mission board, the weakest are Earth ranked cultivators while the strongest is at the Heaven Encompassing rank.
Mo Xie sighed and ignored them, the attendant smiled wryly as she looked at the clueless people, she then took out three books: "Young expert, these are three books containing SS grade missions, you can take your pick."
Hearing the attendant's words, everyone became silent, the jeering noises and the commotion they had caused immediately died down. But what gave them something to fret about is Mo Xie's following words.
Mo Xie shook his head: "Something higher."
Now, even the attendant became speechless, still, she woke up from her daze and took out another book, this time, the book only has half of it filled.
"These are requests from the Grand Elders, Supreme Elders, and the Association Master of our Alchemy Association, there are even requests from the higher plains. This is the highest grade of the mission our group possesses."
Mo Xie nods his head, he took the book and immediately looked at all the details, there are at least 18 missions from the Alchemy Association, and there's even a mission from a place called "Myriad Earth Abyss".
Mo Xie smiled, he looked at the attendant and spoke: "I'll take this book now."
"T-that, you mean that you'll take all of the missions?" The attendant spoke with an ashen face.
Mo Xie smiled: "Yes, don't worry, I`ll bring it back once I'm done."
The attendant shook her head: "No, no, it's just a book, we have a hundred copies of that around our Alchemy Association."
Mo Xie smiled as he nods his head: "Then I'll be taking my leave."
The attendant bowed her head deeply as she spoke: "I hope that you'll be successful in your grand endeavor great expert."
Mo Xie smiled and made his way out. As soon as he did, the mercenaries started to gather at the attendant: "Miss, what's that all about an SS and SSS grade mission?"
The attendant looked at them with a smirk: "You guys..."
Seeing her smirk and her fierce eyes, the mercenaries felt fearful, just the two words she uttered sent them completely terrified of what's to follow.

Asha couldn't forget the last letter her father left her before they hung him. This was the letter,

I will die soon and I couldn't accept this fate, but I was not given a chance to ask any outside help. I believe they manipulated the judge and gave me an early death. Please believe me. I didn't kill the good magistrate. I don't know where you are right now, but I hope you're safe. Hoping this letter reaches you. I still want to be with you but I don't have any other way to prove my innocence. Thus, I'll face this bravely. Don't ever think your father is a coward. 

I know life would be hard for you, but I don't want you to think you're alone. Get my secret recipe book within the tree that clung at the wall of our house. There's a big root that entered our house and you'll find a hole in the lower part of the root. Inside, you can find the book and some cash I stash away as your university fund. Use that money and start a new life. Believe in yourself, you're a good cook and better than me. With my recipe book, I'm with you always.

I love you more than anything else in this world.

The day he died was November 19, 1943.
. . . . . 

In the month of December 1945, the rooster was still fast asleep, yet Asha was soaking wet from her toes to her chest. The chilly air combined with the freezing water made her steps stiff. She wished to leave the river but she needed a clam living under the mangrove which only came out when the sun was still down. This was the last ingredient she needed for the recipe she was going to cook for tomorrow's competition.

"I must find this thing. Oh, Baba and Ma, guide me."

She walked from one mangrove tree to the next. Her clothes were muddy and her palms and feet were pale. Her body shook due to the winter weather. Unexpectedly, she stepped on a hole and her whole body submerged. She held her breath underwater as she tried to find her footing. 

Suddenly, her feet felt a rough surface on the muddy riverbed. She reached down and slowly felt it with her hand and pulled the thing before it started digging under. She stood right away feeling victorious.

"Alas, the clam. Hahaha, thank you, Baba and Ma for your guidance." Asha lifted the thing high on her head and saw the pinkish white shell. She cleansed the palm size object and covered it with a cloth then placed it in her bosom for safety.

It took for shivering Asha ten minutes to cross five meters before she was on dry land. She went straight to a small store owned by a friend named Jibon, who lent her the bathroom.

She took a hot bath, thanks to her friend, who prepared the hot water for her. A hearty breakfast of Chapati and chili egg waited at the table when she came out. Jibon offered to hang her wet clothes. She didn't hesitate and sat to eat.

"Asha, are you sure you can redeem your father's name after this trouble or you're just looking for problems?" Jibon sat opposite her.

She shoveled food to her mouth fast enough that her face was bulging and she couldn't say a word. She drank water and swallowed all the food in one gulp.

"Probably," she shrugged, "but honestly, I have no idea if it'll work or not." 

Jibon flicked her forehead. "Silly girl, don't you think such kind of reasoning is so lame?"

"Ish! That hurts." She rubbed her forehead and pouted. "Probably, but I couldn't think of a better way than this. At least, I'll try.  Anyway, thanks for the food and the bath. I'll pay you later." She waved her hand as she covered her head and face, then headed out. 

"Just cook for me. I'll be glad to eat your delicious food." He added as he watched her back. He sighed and whispered. "I hope you'll be fine."

Asha walked to her hanging clothes on the tree branch and tried to reach them. A man came near, a foot and a half taller than her and pulled the clothes. 

Asha shied for her four feet and half height. "Thank you, kind Sir."

"Little girl, you should eat more vegetables and drink more milk so you'll grow fast."

Jibon laughed when he heard the man's statement.

"Hmph, I'm not a little girl. I'm a woman of 18 years." She walked fast hugging her clothes. It was an insult for her.

"Ah, oh my, sorry miss. Didn't know." The man felt reprimanded when the men near them laughed hard. "I don't mean to be rude, your ladyship." The man shouted at her back, laughing.

She continued to walk, annoyed. "I don't care if I'm short but I hate people calling me little girl."

As she reached her house, she went straight to the kitchen and placed the clam in a bowl of water. "This will keep you safe until tomorrow."

Asha opened his father's recipe book then read the recipe she chose for tomorrow's competition for the thirtieth time. According to the recipe, she needed a fish, turmeric, dried chili, fresh cilantro, coconut milk, ginger, garlic, onion, lemon grass, and the hard one to find, the clam.

This was the same recipe that made her father won as the best chef in their village. Unfortunately, the same dish accused him of food poisoning the magistrate. 

Asha believed that by letting the judges eat the same food and saw themselves unharmed, she could ask them as witnesses to the court to make her father be deemed innocent. She thought this could help clear her father's name even though he was already dead and stop certain people from naming her as the murderer's child. Unfortunately, she was too ignorant to realize it won't be that easy.

She looked at her cash for her university. Just enough to keep her alive for a year. "Oh, Baba, what must I do? I still need to go to university but some people are bad mouthing you and me. I must join the competition tomorrow. I'm sorry if you don't agree, and please, help me." 

Her heart was heavy as she reminisced those days when her father was alive. "God, why did you take my father away? Why bad people are still alive?" Tears gushed out and her body convulsed for quite some time. "Baba, Ma, I missed you." 

She breathed deep and wiped her face. "I have to move on."

She put the cash back in its hiding place, a hole under her bed covered by a large rag. A big chest of clothes settled on top of it.

"I can't spend much. I better ask my neighbors for the lacking spices." She looked up with her wet eyes. "Baba, help me to win tomorrow." A tear fell unhindered. She brushed it off with the back of her hand. "No time for crying more. Better head to work or else Mukti will get angry at me."

She pulled a bag from her bed and left in a dash, forgetting she left the bowl uncovered.

Asha is now on the brink of helplessness and despair. Would she let despair to chase her for the rest of her life? Thus, she faces the man who wanted her dead and to stand as a woman in the world of chefs. 

She will create her own dishes and make his father's recipes alive again. Her adventures lead to clues of the real killer of his father and get entangles with love. 

Somehow, when she is face to face with the murderer, will she forgive or not? The Recipe of Love will show her the right decision to make.

This is a story of a girl in her journey to become a lady chef while in life-threatening situations and falls in love. So, don't expect a fast pace cooking battles. It is Asha's journey.

The setting of the story is India before its Independence in 1947. The exact timeline is 1945. However, in the first part of the story, I didn't use during the British occupation since the places/villages I mentioned do not exist in the present country. I used Bangla words since the culture is more on present Bangladesh. 

This is absolutely a fiction story.

If you have questions about the culture, please ask me in the comment and I'll try to explain things to you. I can't write the culture within the story for that will bore you to death. Most are written in the Author's Thoughts.
