Now, Chen Jin was eyeing tech giants such as Hua Yao and Ali Corporation, persuading them to join the ranks within the Tech Cities. He believed that these companies would accept his invitation and gather around Xing Hai Technologies.
Many wondered about Chen Jin's motives, and discussed their ideas online.
It is obviously for the sake of advanced technology.
No matter how high land values are, in the face of technology and the truth itself, they will always seem worthless.
Truth is priceless. With enough truth at hand, one can acquire an infinite amount of resources.
Once humans have stepped out of Earth and hover towards the sea of stars, unfathomable land and wealth will be presented before us all.
But if one cashed in a house in a first-tier city, they won't have to dream about the sea of stars any longer. They should just keep on earning their honest pennies.
A house, a family and similar things could easily become the killers of dreams that make us tumble into the mire of reality.
It is too easy for one to indulge in the prosperous life within bustling cities with a million temptations. One would have long forgotten the starry sky above their heads as they would have settled down in their current state over time.
Someone must lead the dream. Someone must blow the trumpet and someone must unfold the curtains of the dawn of a massive era.
Without a doubt, such a leader would naturally be Xing Hai Technologies, but their strength alone was not enough. They would need teammates and helpers. Another ulterior motive was to lay down the foundation for development over on Planet Haierfa.
According to AI Nuwa's calculations, with the development speed over on Earth, Earth's overall technological level would be almost at a similar level to that of planet Haierfa in approximately 30 years. By that time, as Earth continued to advance, its path would be equivalent to the one Planet Haierfa would have taken had their civilization not been destroyed. Earth would be embracing a bright future. Until then, Earth could nurture planet Haierfa, which had completed an environmental transformation and been freed from destruction.
This would bring forth massive benefits for both worlds.
Once most of the local high-tech enterprises surrounded Xing Hai Technologies, they would be tantamount to the most advanced scientific and technological achievements. We have conducted simulations with supercomputers. Even with Hua Yao's annual revenue of nearly 2 trillion dollars, if we encounter a major crisis, it would only take us three to five years before we possibly vanished into thin air and became history."
Yu Dazhui's voice was steady.
"Even if our development is stable, as long as our revenue capacity remains stagnated or increases meagerly by a one or two percentage points, Hua Yao will still fall into crisis in 10 years. The inflation, in many aspects driven by rising house prices, is nearly 10% every year and it is hard for our revenue growth to reach that amount."
As he continued, Yu Dazhui's voice grew more optimistic.
"Moving to the Tech Cities in the desert is a very good alternative. After the transfer is completed in its entirety, we will save almost 200 billion dollars a year. All that money could be used in research and development. Hua Yao's competitiveness will never weaken. We can last for fifty or even a hundred years without declining! Mr. Chen, we hope for you to hasten things at your end. Hua Yao intends to shift to the Tech Cities as soon as possible."
Chen Jin was instantly struck by delight.
"No problem, I'll ask my men over at Tech City No. 2 to prepare things for you."

Hua Yao stuck their heads in the desert, following Xing Hai Technologies's footsteps. After the news had spread, the topic was hotly debated by the public. Netizens began to rant.
Even our Hua Yao has gone into the desert. Can first-tier cities truly not retain any outstanding enterprises?
Could it be that we will have to go the deserts thousands of miles away for a good high-income job? Who'd be willing to go work at a place so far out?

Through a mysterious portal, Chen Jin arrived at this strange place - a post-apocalyptic world where civilization had been destroyed.

When the two met each other in Lin's guest room, they made the same surprised sound.
"Eh? You two know each other?" 
Lin, who wore her protective tech gear as always, was standing on one side with a weird look on her face. Behind her black-bordered tech glasses, her eyes scanned past Feng Luo and Digital Cat.
"Since you two know each other, this will work even better!"
Lin turned to Feng Luo and pointed at Digital Cat, who was about the same height as her. "This is the Chip Master that I helped pick from the profession guild. Though she is an adventurer, when it comes to control programs and mecha combat weapons, her understanding is very impressive. She's enough to help you build a T-750."
Then she put both hands in her pockets, turned around, and walked towards the lab's exit.
"Since you know each other, mingle. I'm going to prepare the new potion. Oh, that's right. Feng, remember to leave 100 ml of your blood sample. I'm going to try creating a new number nine perfect Enhancement Potion!"
"Alright." Hearing that, Feng Luo gave a bitter smile.
If he extracted too much blood within 15 days in the game, his max HP would drop. However, it was a good thing that 100ml wouldn't make much difference; it was just a decrease of 100 HP. It did not really affect his total, which exceeded 6,500.
However, at that moment, Digital Cat looked as if she had just remembered something.

"If we create it based on the complete replication process in the chip, it'll take 15 days, at most, to create prototypes that can be experimented on. But if I follow your requirements to remove and redesign the undecipherable parts in the chip programming, due to the level restrictions of my Chip and Mecha Mastery, I'll need more than a month."
Digital Cat looked very serious, and a professional gaze similar to Lin's came from behind the silver tech glasses.
"Level restrictions? What's your level now?" Feng Luo frowned.
The T-750 should only be Excellent or Rare Grade. I'm sure an Expert Level Chip Master could create it. Is Digital Cat's life profession not yet at the Expert Level?

It seemed that Digital Cat was also a genius, much like Lin. Moreover, she had the suitable Chip Master and Mechanist life professions (Mechanists and Doctors were all half life and half combat professions)!
In War, leveling life professions was a lot different than in other games. The traditional way of gathering experience through production was completely useless!
Players needed to learn, memorize, test, and really understand and gain the ability to control and produce, and once mastery reached a certain level, one's profession level could be increased!

Although Valencia knew she got her period before most of her friends, she never paid much attention to it. "So you've been, already growing up before you came." 

They went back to the group. Because James wants for Valencia to know people she needs, to leave happily. So he made other lower rich men come for her birthday party. And plus, he wanted to show her off to the others. 

Because of the party she had to get dressed. So her mom helped her, because she had cunning beauty and strict eye but at the same time calm and cute. Her dark blue hair also gave her, her power. so her mother put her in a light blue dress. 

"Aww! It looks so good on you?" Elise started to tear up. So she started to fan her self. At that moment James came in, the door was behind Valencia. So she turned around, James saw how cunning his daughter is. "That dress suits you very well, I probably cancel the party so no one come and see you" James took out his phone to make a call. But before that Valencia hold down his hand that has the phone. "Father you don't have to, this is the most someone celebrated my birthday". James put his hand down and hugged her "you deserve everything after what happened to you in the past." 

Juliu, was dressed in a little tuxedo. Because he couldn't walk, Valencia carried him. James wore a black tuxedo, while Luke wore a blue tuxedo. And Elise was wearing a high low dress blue, while Valencia wore a dark blue cape dress. 

The party was ocean theme, so almost every this was a type of blue. They came in together, Valencia was in the middle holding Juliu in her arms. James on her right, Luke on her left, and her mother next to Luke. 

Everyone saw them in the entrance, they all came at once. The announcer, motioned his hand towards the entrance, saying "everyone, can you put your attention on the birthday girl's family. 

Everyone took a glance and noticed that she looked exactly like James Zaph. Almost every single area looked like James. 

The entrance was high up, so the family walked down a few steps. After taking 5 steps there was a glow under their feet. The blue glow, transformed into a platform under them. Then the platform started to move with them on. Every single one of them had their own one, except Juliu, Valencia was holding him. 

Their table was the same height they were at so they went across the room, towards their table. All of a sudden the guests understood, why there was no stairs up towards the table. 

They started the dinner, the announcer, announced some things. Then it was time for James to talk. "Thank you all for coming, on my daughter's birthday, I hope this will be her best life with us. And I'll start by announcing a new invention we mad the past week. This was made by the help of my daughter, Valencia. She is the smarts of this invention. She did all the tech. And did almost all the work. If it weren't for her these won't be a thing. So I'll hand it to her to explain all the details" James handed down the mic to her. She then talked about high tech stuff only 'genius' can understand. But there were some people in the crowd like that.

After she finished her speech, it went dead silent until someone broke it. "She's a genius, she's only 13, but still knows these things!"

A young lad abandoned on the streets with no one to care about that person. With nothing to care about, this young lad decided to do something quite insane. 

It seemed that everything was going to turn out bad from there, but by some luck. This story started to take a good turn. 

Let's see what this young lad will do, will it stay as peaceful from now on?

"This is getting boring."
I could see the number of readers falling away. Now I understood why nobody wanted to write a story regarding sci-fi RTS. Everyone wanted to write about MOBAs or fantasy RPGs, and clearly the vote results don't lie. It made me feel stupid for deciding to play Spacecraft. Nobody wanted to read about Real Time Strategy mechanics, build orders, unit descriptions, and war. They wanted overpowered protagonists crushing newbies and dominating the game with "cheat" skills, while reading about leveling up, collecting crazy loot and all that BS.
"Whatever."
Who cares about those stupid MOBAs and MMORPGs? I had better things to worry about. Now that I had sort of familiarized myself with the Terran versus Demon matchup, I decided to run a game against the psychic race, Psidorks.
As usual, the game threw me straight into mining with Engineers, and I quickly constructed a few defenses. Unlike the Demons, the Psidorks were a lot stronger, individual unit wise. They were best described as the spellcaster race. According to the lore, Psidorks were an advanced, psychic alien race who relied on sophisticated technology and precision to take out enemy units. They did not have the high health and overwhelming fire of the mechanical, armored units of the Terran race, or the tenacity and countless numbers of the Demon swarm, but they relied more on psychic powers and superior technology to prevail.
The visual style about them was…flying saucers and ducks. You heard me right. Most of their vehicles were flying saucers, and even their basic infantry rode on a hovering disc.
It wasn't long before the first basic unit, the Disciples, came knocking on the front door. There were only three of them, but they were more than enough to take down my marines…if I hadn't erected a small bunker to hide themselves in. the Disciples were melee units that generated psionic claws, and riding atop their spinning discs, they sailed through the space at pretty intense speed and began slashing and hacking away at the bunker.
The marines inside fired upon the Disciples, but their personal shielding protected them, shimmering as the projectiles slammed against them. However, as with most other game units, the shields had a fixed amount of HP – in simple terms, they collapsed if they take too much punishment, and the moment they went dry and the bullets punched their way through the Disciples' golden armor, wounding the aliens beneath, they swiftly retreated.
I studied them with an amused grin. The Psidorks looked like ducks on flying saucers. Their yellow armor made them look chubby, and they had webbed feet that allowed them to stick to the top of their saucers. Above their gleaming armor was a fat head with large, droopy eyes, and a beak, plus a strange topknot that resembled three strands of hair. When idle, the Disciples would often hold their heads, as if they were in pain. I suspected they suffered from perpetual headaches because of their burgeoning psychic powers. According to the fluff, the best way for them to release that massive buildup of psychic power to ease their pain was to convert them into psionic blades, which was why they looked a lot happier when fighting.
Otherwise they resembled giant ducks in armor that rode flying discs. Pretty cool idea for an advanced psychic alien race, but also thoroughly amusing.
"They'll be back," I muttered to myself. Even though I was tempted to rush to my Factory and start pumping out Salamanders and Panzer tanks, I knew the AI was probably going to probe my base with heavier units – units that my marines wouldn't be able to deal with, even with their bunker and medic support.
So I added a Dreadnought. Dressed in much heavier armor than the marine, Dreadnoughts were super-heavy infantry capable of unleashing salvos of razor rockets from their gauntlet-mounted launchers. Marines were an all-rounder, a very versatile infantry unit that could take on almost every role, but their main weaknesses were their low health, fragility and low damage. The Dreadnoughts had a lot more health – over twice the health of the marine – and did three times the damage against armored units. I built just two to support four marines and two medics, and then I switched to full Factory production.
No sooner did I do that than the Psidorks arrived with new units. Just one new walker unit, called the Dragoon. Four golden mechanical limbs allowed it to traverse any terrain, and situated on top of the suit was a single phase disruptor cannon. Inside the chassis was the ruined body of a fallen Disciple, salvaged and put on life support. The Psidorks were zealous warriors, intent on fighting for their cause to their very last breaths. They weren't going to let something as trivial as disabilities and fatal injuries prevent them from continuing the fight.
However, they were heavily armored and possessed heavy firepower. A bombardment from its turret wrecked the bunker where I had my marines hide in. The infantry spilled out, only for the Disciples to descend upon them. The marines quickly opened fire, but at least two of them fell to the psionic claws of the zealous aliens, despite the medic's best efforts. The Dragoon continued stalking toward my base, only for mini-missiles to streak downward and slam into its armored chassis. Explosions engulfed the four-limbed mechanical walker, its shields shimmering and fading fast from the tremendous impacts, and it staggered.
The turret atop the Dragoon traversed and it let loose a volley of shots. The first phase disruptor blast knocked over one of my Dreadnoughts, cracking his armor and sending him stumbling over. A medic rushed over and began repairing the damage. Don't ask me how her healing abilities repaired the cracks on his armor and just assume it was the gaming mechanics somehow. The other one continued to fire a relentless volley of rockets, the projectiles crashing against the Dragoon. The light blue shields failed, and one of the limbs were sheared off from the explosion. The next couple of shots slaughtered the Dreadnought in retaliation, his head disintegrating from the energy blast.
The other Dreadnought righted himself after receiving emergency treatment from the medic and let loose a punishing volley. The chassis split apart, revealing the wrecked body of the doomed Psidork within, and then a stray rocket spiraled in somehow and blew the poor thing apart. Golden metal rained down on the terrain, slowing rolling down the slope before they faded away. The new physics engine and updated graphics certainly did wonders for all these trivial details, making the game more immersive than before.
By now, the two remaining marines had been slaughtered by the remaining Disciples, two of whom had fallen to their weight of fire. The final Disciple pursued the screaming medic, who held no weapon of her own (unrealistic, yes, but the developers didn't give her a sidearm because of "balance"). The Dreadnought whirled around and blew the Disciple up with a single missile, splatting the poor alien's remains over the ground.
I had survived. For now.
Wiping the perspiration from my brow, I proceeded to set up my infrastructure and rebuilt whatever combat forces I could. Right now was the moment I felt most vulnerable, when I was investing resources into tech and upgrades rather than building an army. If the enemy chose to attack in force now, then I would be screwed.
"My life for Aiyah!"
I raised an eyebrow when I heard the familiar cry of the Disciples. They were back, along with several more Dragoons. A bigger army this time. Not as numerous as the Demon hordes, but still a very threatening army. Their danger lay not in quantity but quality.
Within a few shots from the Dragoons, the lone surviving Dreadnought was obliterated, along with the medics desperately trying to heal him. They forced their way past my first defensive line, with my point defense turrets that I had set up along a trench completely blown apart by the sheer firepower of the Dragoons. The Disciples swooped onto my now exposed base, free to slaughter my Engineers and hack my buildings apart…
…only to run into an impassable wall of Teflon-coated titanium and hellfire. My Salamanders had transformed into their battle armor mode, and were holding up their shields as their carapace-mounted flamethrower unleashed a torrent of superheated fire to incinerate the approaching Disciples. Even their personal shield generators couldn't withstand such intense temperatures, and the shrieking aliens melted atop their scorched discs, the tiny flying saucers swerving away and crashing down on the ground. The Dragoons tracked the Salamanders, and their phase disruptors blew huge holes in the line of bipedal walkers, the heat-resistant armor unable to endure the punishing anti-armor energy blasts from the heavy quad-legged alien walkers.
Then they were blasted apart by tanks.
Behind the row of Salamander battle armor, three Panzer tanks had anchored themselves to the ground, their massive cannons elevated and firing arcs of devastating artillery shells down upon the advancing Dragoons. Even their hardened shields couldn't stand up against such awesome firepower. The blue-tinted barriers flashed and went down in sparks after the first bombardment, and then the second hail of high explosives struck, throwing the metallic parts of the golden armored walkers high into the air. A limb spinning through the air here, a broken turret spiraling downward and rolling helplessly on the ground before being reduced to yet more pieces, the corpse of a handicapped Psidork blown out of his life support systems and his armor…
"This is the power of mech!" I cheered.
I was aware of the arguments against mech when matched up against Psidorks. Most Spacecraft players agreed that mech was at a huge disadvantage against Psidorks, because of the counters that the hi-tech race could bring against us. Right now, they had only been fielding their basic units, the ones that they teleported through their Gateway.
I didn't want to know what would happen once they started bringing out their titanic walkers from their Robotics Facility…and that wasn't even saying anything about their golden armada. Another name for their navy of flying saucers, which ranged from the tiny air superiority fighters that darted about with amazing agility and fire short-ranged lasers, to the massive Mother of all Flying Saucers that spat out an enormous death ray from its center to devastate all ground units, and still packed a lot of anti-air point defense turrets along its circumference.
Sort of like that movie, Independence Day, if I thought about it, as well as one of my favorite Real Time Strategy games of all time…Ultimate Commander.
"I need to prepare for that…"
Reestablishing my defense line with a fresh row of point defense turrets, I built a few more Factories inside my base and began pumping out as many tanks and Titans as possible. I was going to need more Salamanders because the Psidorks usually accompanied their robotic units with waves of Disciples, each infantry unit being more than willing to sacrifice his life for Aiyah – the homeworld of the Psidorks. Don't ask me why they had such a weird name. Just imagine the duck-shaped Psidorks holding their heads in a grimace, tilting it to the side and murmuring, "Aiyah!" and you'll probably get the picture. Taking a third base near a cache of resources, I stabilized my economy and went into full production of mechanical units.
"If I'm not mistaken, they will also go for the mechanical route," I muttered to myself as I glanced at the mini-map. Just like Terrans, there were two routes that the Psidorks could take. Against Terran players who chose the biological route, they would choose the spellcaster route, building Cathedrals and Shrines to give then access to High Priests. These High Priests could cast devastating psychic spells such as Maelstrom, which covered an entire area with lightning. Biological infantry, with their low health and relatively thinner armor, would be massacred by Maelstrom, but the area of effect spell was less effective against the high health and thick armor of Terran mechanical units. That wasn't to say High Priests and spellcasters were completely ineffective against mechanical units – they still had other spells in place, such as Illusions, which confused the sensors of enemy units and gave them a 50% reduction in accuracy – but given the splash damage of the Panzer tanks in artillery mode, that lack of accuracy wasn't very helpful.
That was why I was confident that they would go the mechanical route instead.
Of course, there was always the third route, which was the air route, also known as the Skydork route. Much like the Skyterran route, it involved building a fleet of flying saucers, which was an equally devastating strategy in its own right. I could do that, and Terran did have the advantage in that we had shared upgrades between mechanical units with our vehicle armor plating covering both ground and air units (different from infantry armor, which I never bothered with), but my Broadsword heavy gunships would be shot out of the sky by their flying saucers, which was why I didn't bother with them this time. I did start production of Raiders, the Terran counterpart of air superiority fighters, just in case. As the sleek forms of the jet fighters left the airports, I had them transform into their ground assault mode. In this version, they resembled my Salamander battle armor, being bipedal walkers that sported heavy chainguns and a pair of carapace-mounted rocket launchers for anti-air, which were normally placed on their wings when they transformed back to their aerial fighter modes.
I had one Raider remain in air fighter mode, though, and I sent him streaking across the map for reconnaissance, to gather information regarding my opponent. In Spacecraft, intelligence was everything. If you knew what army composition your opponent was building toward, you would know how to counter accordingly.
As it turned out, I was partially right. The AI had chosen the mechanical route upon seeing my tanks and Salamanders, and had built a couple of Robotics Facilities. Loyalist bipedal walkers, armed with Electromagnetic Pulse cannons, were marching in ranks, accompanied by two massive Dorklords – massive, spider-shaped walkers reminiscent of the four-legged Dragoons I had faced earlier. Except that they were huge – towering over even my Titans – and sporting a single gigantic laser turret as its head. One of them was slowly lumbering away from the Robotics Facility that had manufactured it. Disciples, Dragoons and Loyalists scrambled to move out of its way to ensure they didn't get crushed by its four massive mechanical limbs.
"They are really bringing out the big guns, eh?" I muttered. The Dorklord was even bigger than the terrifying Mastodons of the Demons, but of course the Demons could produce a lot more Mastodons than the Psidorks' manufacture of Dorklords. Case in point – they had two of those giant spiderbots while I easily had twelve Titans.
"I had best move out and crush them before they can produce more," I muttered. Dorklords, while extremely expensive and requiring a very long time to build, were tremendously powerful, each one capable of turning the tide of small skirmishes by itself. Having to face three or more of these things…I couldn't even imagine how horrifying that would be. Especially when I didn't have any aerial support. Honestly, the best counters to Dorklords were my Broadsword heavy gunships, but I didn't build them because my other worry had materialized in the form of the other structures in the AI's base.
Stargates. The Psidork was already beginning to warp in flying saucers to accompany the two Dorklords. They would tear my poor Broadsword gunships apart if I sent them in to take out the Dorklords.
The game was about rock, paper and scissors. While deceivingly complex, if you were well-versed in unit interactions and composition matchups, you could secure an overwhelming advantage over your opponent. In any case, I couldn't allow the AI to have any more tech advantage over me. I had to destroy those Dorklords and do as much damage to its infrastructure as possible.
Rapidly clicking over my army and assigning them to different control groups, I had them begin their slow, implacable march across the map and toward the enemy base.

After winning his first esports trophy in the legendary Real Time Strategy Game Spacecraft, Jiu Wei - gaming name: Admech, also known as the Mech Emperor, announces his retirement from the professional gaming scene to serve two years of mandatory military service for his country. Upon completion of military service, he returns to esports, only to find that the meta has changed completely since the two years when he was in the military. The strategies and build orders that he mastered on his way to his only championship are now rendered obsolete by new players and unfamiliar mechanics.

However, Jiu Wei refuses to give up. Even though he is older and his movements have gotten slower, he is still a veteran with years of experience, a seasoned player of focus, commitment and sheer f-ing will.

The Mech Emperor will rise again, and reign anew over the RTS esports scene.

Chapter 28
Jing Yang had just woken up when he felt that his muscles were extremely sore. He judged that this body might have just done some severe exercise.

He sat up and looked around at the ultra-modern design of the room and guessed that this might be a world of the future? Or else this body's original owner was a high tech enthusiast?

Pinching his arm muscles a bit, it was obviously pulled. Jing Yang lay back down again and activated the system. He decided to repair the body's damage first and eliminate the painful feeling.

He started the memory inheritance function, and Jing Yang finally knew that originally this time the world he came to was an interstellar space-time.

He was sent to the hospital for critical care, and his life was saved, but he could only be paralyzed on the bed, relying on medical instruments to preserve his life.

The reason for Milton's accident was because Kedi had tampered with his parachute bag, his methods were quite brilliant, actually being able to dodge all of the cameras without leaving a bit of evidence.

Kedi had received the first place in the competition, and was awarded a large amount of prize money. He even came to the hospital to visit Milton, showing off his success to him.

At that time Milton had been lying on the hospital bed, unable to move even a little bit, he wasn't even able to say a word, only his eyes were able to move around. Kedi live streamed the process of his visit to Milton, expressing his regret to the camera.

Hey, Friendly Neighborhood Author here, I'd like to talk about the various races we'll meet in this story. Make sure to read the Author's Note. I'll try to keep this Aux Chapter short by saying a very short introduction of each race. So we'll start off with the most basic race: Humans

Humans are, as you guessed, like us. With the highest population, they are the most technologically advanced. At least as far as medieval tech can get, anyways. They are also one of the two races who can have affinities with almost every magic branch. (I'll talk about magic in another chapter) Approximate Lifespan: 100 Years

Next up are the various kinds of Elves, starting with your average everyday Fantasy Elves. This kind of Elf goes by a couple names: Wood Elves, Wild Elves, Forest Elves, or just Elves. Possessing long lifespans and high compatibility with mana, they are capable spell-casters. Wood Elves are also the only race able to learn and use Life Magic. Approximate Lifespan: 70,000 Years

High Elves are the nobility of the Elven races, at least that's what they'd have you believe. This brand of elf is generally very rarely seen outside their home Capital. They posses even longer lifespans than either Elves or Dark Elves, with staggering amounts of mana. High affinities towards the Arcane Branch. Approximate Lifespan: 800,000 Years

Dark Elves, said to be corrupted by dark magics, are known by another name, Drow. Diametrically opposed to both Elves and High Elves, they have grey or black skin, snow white hair, and red or silver eyes. Drow are easily burned by sunlight and prefer the dark over anything else. Their magic affinities lie in the Taboo Magics. Approximate Lifespan: 90,000 Years

Vampires are a distant form of Elf, and are the result of a small gene-pool. This caused them to develop severe anemia, low body temperatures, and deathly pale skin. The way they evolved to deal with the lack of blood was to consume more of it. Vampires only have affinities with Blood Magic. Approximate Lifespan: 120,000 Years (If fed Blood regularly)

After Elves, we have the standard Fantasy Dwarves. They are supreme craftsmen, making the most powerful pieces of equipment known to the land. Sturdy and stout, a dwarf can easily carry what an average human can't. Most Dwarves have an affinity with the Elemental Magics. Approximate Lifespan: 375 Years

Within Ulder live several species of Beast-Folk which include; Wolves, Bears, Cats, and Birds. All of these species have the ability to take on more bestial form. The Cat and Bird Folk have various sub-species which include other similar real-life counterparts. Their affinities lie with Elemental Magic. Approximate Lifespan: 200 Years

Giants are separated into two groups, the aggressive Val'tiir Giants and the benevolent Nas'ver Giants.  The Val'tiir are classified as monsters while the Nas'ver are a race. The Nas'ver use magic to compress their large stature in order to trade with and befriend the other races. Magical affinities lie with the Arcane Branch. Approximate Lifespan: 180 Years

Finally, We arrive at the apex of the races: Dragons. These are Western-style Dragons with a twist. They are completely immortal, lifespan-wise, and their scales and bones are almost indestructible. The price they have to pay for such immortality is at certain intervals of age, they must suffer through a tribulation. Not like heavenly lightning, but an intense agony that comes from their very body and soul. If they either pass out or give up, they are destroyed. If they succeed, they increase in strength. They also physically mature all at once instead of steadily like us. Dragons can freely choose what type of magic they practice.

A washed-up novelist is sent to the world of his unwritten novel. There he gains the family he had lost, and the love he longed for.

This is my first ever public work, so I probably won't be amazing at first. Just give me some time and I know I'll improve.

The Parlei Race was a level 2 civilization that defied lightning and thunder. To be more specific, they were at the peak of level 2 civilization and only needed a small catalyst to push them into becoming a real level 3 space civilization. Furthermore, their civilization had a middle-aged cosmic adapter that had inherited 6 generations of adaptation, so they could at least survive for another 200 years or two to three generations. Before then, the Parlei Race had a great chance of becoming level 3 space civilization, so they were a lot more powerful than those that were already on the decline.
About two years ago, the third fleet of the Parlei Race received a set of curious signal, and its origin was incredibly weird. It was sent using a technology beyond the Parlei Race's comprehension; it was similar to the legendary space communication technology. Since it involved the manipulation of space and time, it had to be related to a level 6 space civilization or above. This was a legendary space civilization.
However, in contrast to the super high tech communication technique, the content was written in the simplest 0s and 1s. This type of 2 dimensional content only existed for a civilization that hadn't left their home planet. Theoretically speaking, after a civilization became a level 2 space civilization, they would stop using this kind of electrical signal.
This anomaly of super high tech communication technique and almost prehistoric content was hard to understand. It was as if a chimp was operating a spaceship, it was impossible.
This third fleet was the Parlei Race's main battle fleet. It had 200 plus main battleships, 1,400 plus protection spaceships, and more than 5,000 combat spaceships. It was one of the Parlei Race's three biggest armies, the solid proof that Parlei Race was a level 2 space civilization.
After receiving this signal, the commander of this fleet, the Great Pap Pap Chief of the Parlei Race, immediately ordered the whole fleet to depart towards the location mentioned in the signal in the shortest notice!
The Great Pap Pap Chief guessed that this was a low level space civilization that had fortunately stumbled across a high level space civilization's ruins and had used its communication software. Alas, due to their lack of scientific knowledge, the signal didn't manage to reach their main race but had dispersed through the cosmos. Therefore, this was an open high level civilization ruin that was danger-free and would be the beginning of the Parlei Race's renaissance!
At the time, the Great Pap Pap Chief smoothed down the green furs that grew out of his impressive chest and his face split into a wide smile. This was the perfect opportunity for him to become the Parlei Race's Main Chief…
Therefore, after two years, the third fleet of the Parlei Race, who wasn't that far from their destination to begin with, arrived at the solar system. The first moment they did, they realized something was seriously wrong.
This solar system… housed the cursed planet!
"Cursed planet? What is that?"
In the Hope's fifth floor, right next to the Black Star Troopers' barracks, was an attached jail. This was the place with the highest security on the Hope because beside it housed plenty of Perceptors and Diviners. Even a fly couldn't leave this area unnoticed, much less a sentient being.
This was 10 days before the last controlled warp. 10 days from now, ZERO would help them warp one last time. This was the time when the Hope's army was at its busiest. The Black Star Troopers had heightened their training, so there was no chance for breaking out of this prison.
After idling for several months, these members from a civilization called the "Blue Race" had finally met Yao Yuan, Guang Zhen, Ren Tao, Xiao Niao, and other military officials in person.
"…Finally took down the creator's particle layer? You even stopped the three inspections that happened daily and finally confirmed we're not dangerous?" Blue 6 asked with resentment.
He was the Blue Race's Blue 6, the sixth heir to the level 3 space civilization, the Blue Race. The Blue Race was a large empire that had almost full control of a Shelter. He was going to inherit this civilization, he was a S-grade cosmic adapter, and he was cherished ever since he was a toddler, so when had he suffered such a humiliation like imprisonment before? No matter which civilization he had fallen into, barbaric civilizations like the Parlei Race aside, the other civilizations would treat him like a god! If anything, they wouldn't hesitate to give him part of their government control because he was Blue 6!
However, he was given such humiliation here. Of course, it wasn't that his captive was barbaric, at least they didn't pull out his brain and spine and then marinate him inside a nutrient case as a can of cosmic adapter like the Parlei Race would do.
Even though resentment was obvious in Blue 6's tone, his words were like gibberish to Yao Yuan's group. After computer translation, his heckling tone had completely disappeared. It just sounded like a normal enquiry.
Both parties studied each other through the separation of a thick, clear glass panel. Even though the air composition that was ideal to the Blue Race was almost identical to what was ideal to human beings, with the difference being a higher percentage of oxygen, due to fear of bacterial contamination, there was still the need for quarantine. After all, no one could be sure whether these Blue Race people carried some curious pathogens or not, so quarantine was the safest option for all parties.
When Blue 6 grumbled his complaint, he studied the group of human beings on the other side of the glass pane. Their looks… other than the non-blue hair, they looked just like normal Blue Race citizens. However, there was something that piqued Blue 6's interest, the leader of this race was obviously a black-haired man, but how come the people standing behind him had gold hair, brown hair, and even white hair? Could it be… that this wasn't a single-race spaceship but a conglomerate spaceship containing multiple races?
After Yao Yuan heard Blue 6's translated comments, he replied, "The few months of imprisonment, daily inspection, and creator's particle isolation was because we were uncertain of whether you people carried dangerous pathogens or not. I'm sure you will understand the necessity of all that. Since our technological level is much lower than the Blue Race's, we couldn't afford to be too careful."
Blue 6 pouted. He thought internally, "F*ck, you people have managed to warp so many lightyears away in the blink of an eye. That is obviously something only manageable by a level 6 space civilization or above. Stop kidding with me. If you want to humiliate us, come out with it directly. Why the need to go with such insinuations?"
"Today will be our first negotiation, and the contents are…" Yao Yuan picked up a piece of document and mumbled as he flipped through it.
Blue 6 gritted his teeth and interrupted him, "Just say how much compensation you want or how many years you want me to service your race. If it is until my death, then I only ask that you will allow my body to return to the Blue Race's spaceship. Fine, I understand this is not enough to compensate for your loss, but if you can spare my life, I can help get you some technologies that will enable your civilization to evolve to level 3. Blue 6 couldn't help but feel sorry for himself because of the lack of leverage in his hands. The chance of him being executed was still very high. On the other side, Yao Yuan's group was startled. They looked at each other curiously. The two and a half Thinker understood everything in a matter of minutes. Yao Yuan suddenly decided, "Please wait for a moment. The compensation you're proposing is too low, so we might not be able to agree to your terms. However, since you are still a cosmic adapter, please allow us to discuss this among ourselves first."
Yao Yun immediately led everyone away, leaving Blue 6's group behind in their seats.
"Your Highness, looks like this civilization has a civilized system similar to ours. It appears like we're dealing with a civilized race," one of the technicians whispered to Blue 6.

If this was an oligarchy, autocracy, or tribalism, there would be no discussion since the leader's every word would be an order. If this was any of those societal systems, their lives would depend on the ruler's whims and not rational trades. That would introduce too many variables.
Therefore, this situation had proven that this civilization known as "humanity" was probably a civilization with democracy, a civilized race that could be reasoned with…
In that case, their lives most likely could be saved.

The sanctuary that Andaherr said turned out to be a hibernation chamber. He had been hearing the demon hunter talking about a magic realm, but what he saw now was a sci-fi-like, high-tech facility. He was a little surprised. But what surprised him, even more, was the name of the facility: Hibernation Freezer. It reminded him of the hibernation on a spacecraft.
Hao Ren was wondering if this underground facility was a part of a spaceship.
Lily peered through the window glass, her tail wagging in the air. "Whoa... look at that high-tech stuff."
Andaherr came before the metal door and clumsily fiddled on the control panel on the side of the door. "Why didn't you go in with them?" Hao Ren asked.
"This facility has been dormant for too long. According to Vogus, some equipment in the core had been shut down due to mechanical failure, and they did not manage to restart them in time. Without that equipment, which was the controller, they could only manually closed the door from the outside," Andaherr explained. She was not very familiar with Tannaean technology though she had learned a thing or two about technologies on Earth. "Someone had to stay back. That'd got to be me."
"Why you?" Vivian asked, looking at Andaherr suspiciously. "I do not doubt anything but just feeling that it made no sense."
Vivian's doubt was understandable especially when Andaherr was an elder of the demon hunters. It did not matter whether Andaherr volunteered it and how much the Ancattero family trusted her, the job should not be on her shoulder. It was even more puzzling when Andaherr had no clue how to operate the facility as they could see how she bungled now. It would only be more appropriate for the technician of the Ancattero family to do the job, Vivian so thought.
Andaherr sighed. "Because I could cast myself the Mind Shackle spell. At that time, the Shades of Chaos had almost overrun the realm and many people, including me, were affected. We fought the shadows back with our will, and we finally got to the sanctuary. We didn't know how long we could hold on. We had to make sure that the one person who stayed behind wouldn't lose his mind and screw up, such as cutting off the power supply to the life support system, before the door shut. I was the best candidate for the job."
Andaherr had left out many details, but one could guess why she made such a decision at that time. When possessed by the Shades of Chaos, thoughts, and loyalty were meaningless, the only person with the strongest mind would survive and whether that person was a demon hunter or an otherworldling was irrelevant. They had decided to choose Andaherr, who was still fully awake, to complete the job. After shutting the door to the hibernation chamber, Andaherr would cast herself the Mind Shackle spell to prevent the Shades of Chaos from possessing her, and if worse comes to worst, she could self-terminate anytime.
Andaherr fumbled with the control panel for a while before finally figuring out the way to open the door. As the heavy alloy door slid open slowly to both sides with a clonk, a gust of freezing air rushed out from the inside.
Lily felt the cold air hitting her on the face was refreshing. Perhaps she was thinking of her hometown.
They stepped into the hibernation chamber. Hao Ren and Vivian quickly went up to one of the nearest freezers, which was slender, oval in shape, with metal on the base and a transparent crystal and metal frame on the upper part forming an egg-shell-like structure. A cold mist was flowing out from the bottom of the freezer and spread out to the surroundings and under their feet.
Each freezer housed a Tannaean, eyes closed, and immersed in a jelly-like solution. They all looked like they were sleeping.
"The freezer is leaking." Hao Ren looked at the white, chilly mist under their feet, brows knitting together. To the layman, the low temperature in the hibernation chamber was normal because it was consistent with the 'atmosphere,' but Hao Ren thought otherwise; it was a system failure. The oval containers were the freezer. These freezers had to maintain a low enough temperature to keep the Tannaeans inside alive. Keeping the temperate low outside the freezers was a waste of energy, it was not part of the design. There was only one reason for the existence of cold air in the room: system malfunction.
"The cooling pipes are too old; they're leaking," the MDT said. It had found the source of the leakage. There were refrigerant liquids and jelly-like substances leaking out from the bases of the freezers. "Start the wake-up procedure immediately!" the MDT said.
Andaherr was already at it. Standing at the console at the end of the room, she pulled the level to initiate the freezer shut-down procedure. But thick ice was covering the surface of the console. Lily had to thaw the control panel first with her Flamejoy. The internal of the control panel was not affected though. Soon, the freezers opened as airlock valves released the pressure.
A hologram popped up on each of the freezer showing the current state of the system. Almost every hologram was flashing its alarm; life signals in many of the fridges were weak.
Vivian immediately lunged forwards, getting the Tannaeans slowly on the floor. Some were slipping out and falling. She called out to other demon hunters, "Hurry up, help them!"
The demon hunters could not care less about racial difference now. They quickly went up to help the Tannaeans. There were a few hundred Ancattero family members in the freezers when the freezers opened, they slid and fell out all at the same time. It was chaotic. Hao Ren and Vivian held a Tannaean out of the fridge. A strange jelly-like substance covered the Tannaean, and his body was cold. However, Vivian found the Tannaean still had pulses. "This one is still alive!"
Hao Ren looked up; there were just not enough hands. He reached into his dimensional pocket and took out his secret weapon. "All right, people, keep calm. We have some little helping hands here!"
A few curious demon hunters came up to see what Hao Ren was up to. Space cracks began to appear around Hao Ren before hordes of mechanical tentacles emerged from the inside. The silver metallic monsters were making a series of weird sounds and started picking up the frozen Tannaeans on the floor. At first glance, it was as if there was a squid lair in the room and Hao Ren was the lair itself.
The demon hunters almost jumped out of their skins. If not for Hao Ren had given them a heads-up, they would have drawn their weapon by now. "What are these things?" Andaherr asked in amazement.
"It's called technology!" the MDT hovered in the air and issued instructions to the tentacles using a blue light beam. "Lift them to the outside, where it's airier than the inside. Treat those I've marked first. Is anyone good at Fire Magic? We need you. White Flame, stop looking at others, I mean you! Any others who are good at giving out heat?"
Y'zaks and Y'lisabet each carried a huge lava ball and walked to the outside. Hao Ren quickly stopped them. "Wait a second! Y'zaks, your lava ball isn't suitable for this!"
Happily, Lily held up her Flamejoy. "What about mine?"
Hao Ren looked at the sharp claws in her hands and the zealousness on her face. "Maybe next time," he said.
Lily glared at him. "You don't trust my claws, do you?" she asked.
"I just don't trust your brain."
Lily's claws could not help it when the frozen Tannaeans needed more delicate handling. Other than barbecuing, Hao Ren would not let Lily roast anything else.
With the help of the autonomous robots, the rescue work went smoothly. The frozen Tannaeans had been transferred to the outside. Hasse had set up an enchanted barrier at the doorway to prevent the freezing air from leaking out to the outside. Although the hibernation freezer system had malfunctioned, the safety mechanism of these oval containers seemed to be working, as all Tannaeans were still alive.
The hall outside the hibernation chamber was filled with frozen Tannaeans. The demon hunters, Wayne, and Hao Ren were working together, helping each other. Vivian saw the scene and could not help but mumble, "Are you guys not friends now?"
Suddenly, Andaherr called out not far away, "Vogus is here! He is still alive!"
