I have vague memories on how I died. I recall that morning I was once more running late to catch the bus. Those extra minutes I spent combing my hair to make it look just right, cost me. In all honesty, flexing in front of the mirror after my shower didn't help. At 6'2" I cut an impressive figure. In my early teens, sports helped me lose the remaining baby fat. I always managed to avoid fighting due to my size. My friends knew I was the nicest guy around and had nothing to fear from me. I was a nerd who happened to inhabit a tall and muscular body, but as the idiom goes "Mess with the bull, you get the horns".

As I turned the corner around the block I saw the bus off in the distance. The next one would be another 40 minutes. I hated waiting at the stop for too long. It was always the same with the winos asking me for money and the drug dealers trying to sell me shit. My high school was an hour and a half away by bus. All those stops on two bus lines added up. It's my fault for refusing to leave my friends when we moved across town. I wasn't a social butterfly by any stretch of the imagination, but I was well known. Those true friendships I had made, meant a lot for me to give up.

I always looked forward to getting my license. I was so happy when I did. I just forgot the small matter of buying a car. My mother raised my sister and I on her own, like many others in the neighborhood. Whatever I made slangin burgers went to her. I didn't mind much, we always had food. As I'm waiting for the next bus, I take my very old 4th generation iPod touch out of my bag and select the old Ice Cube album Death Certificate. 'Cube was really angry back then' I thought listening to a few of the tracks. I still couldn't believe it was the same guy from those movies. Time passes on I guess.

My memory becomes hazy after that. I remember noticing two guys in a car pulling up to the stop. They call out and the dude selling drugs approaches them. They talk for a while. Half of the song No Vaseline had passed when I heard loud bangs through my headphones. That's it. 16 years old and that was my life.

Now I'm stuck in a new body. I became someone I'd never imagined existed. Harry Potter. Maybe I should rewind a bit.

I awoke in front of a man wearing a suit. He was a thin older man. He had short brown hair and brown eyes with a hooked nose. He was a couple of inches shorter than I was.

"Sit down" he said to me pointing to a table.

I looked around the room. It looked like a typical pizzeria. I looked back at the table and I saw the man begin to eat a pizza I hadn't seen earlier.

"Who are you?" I asked. "Where am I?".

The man kept chewing for a few seconds and said "Here try this" pushing a plate with a slice close to me.

I felt nervous as to why I was here. Even then, I wasn't going to say no to pizza. 'Who can?'. I joined the man to eat. It was very delicious. I always wondered about Chicago style pizza. As I finished my slice I waited for him to be done. Feeling very thirsty a beer appeared next to me.

'Really?' I thought. I stared at it longingly. I looked at the man.

"Go ahead" he said gesturing with his right hand holding a knife. I noticed a ring on his hand.

I of course had drank beer before, but not in a restaurant or with an adult present. I picked it up and sipped it. It was an IPA from a local brewery that began canning their beer. I took small sips while the man put his pizza away. I couldn't believe he finished the whole thing. He then brought out what appeared to be pickle chips and ate a few.

"Now" he said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin. "You want to know why you're here?".

"Yes" I said taking another sip.

"It's simple. You're dead".

"What!" I said choking and making a mess.

"You're dead". He clarified.

"How? Why? The last thing I remember….".

"You were shot" he said.

"What?"

"Shot. The drug dealer at your bus stop liked to mix baby laxative with his cocaine. His customers who were understandably angry, demanded to get their money back. The man refused and he was shot. You were behind him and took one to the head".

I reached up to touch my forehead then felt around my head. I couldn't find anything.

"You're not going to find anything. You've left the physical world behind".

I brought my hands down and asked "Who are you?".

"You haven't figured it out?" he said.

"Death" I muttered and waited silently.

Death smiled, unnerving me a bit. He ate a few more chips.

"As I said you're dead, but I have an interesting opportunity for you".

"What?" I asked.

"I don't particularly enjoy reaping children, but you were reaped out of necessity. One of my servants reaped one important soul. He felt that the individual would pose a threat to me".

"Who?" I dared to ask.

"Harry Potter" he responded.

"WHO?" I asked believing I misheard him.

"Harry Potter".

"Harry Potter, from the books?" I asked.

"Yes" he said. "What you know as books here in this universe are in fact someone else's life in another".

"Harry Potter. He exists then?".

"Yes I've been telling you" Death said losing his patience.

"Sorry. It's just hard to believe. How can he exist? He's just a fictional character".

"There are infinite universes. It stands to reason that what is fiction in one can be reality in another".

"But how did JKR write those books?".

"Simply said she's a kind of seer. She saw flashes of a young boy's life being played out and that's how the books were born".

"Wow" was all I could say. I of course liked the books, but loved many of the fan fictions online. Harry Crow was my introduction to the world of fan fiction.

"Yes, getting back to business, as I said Harry Potter's soul was reaped by one of my own. I can of course send him back, but he chose to pass in my absence. His body is a husk containing a fragment of Voldemort's soul".



"Wow it all really is real then huh?".

"Yes please let me finish".

I nodded my head and mouthed the word "Sorry".

"Yes, he chose to pass on after discussing his options with a reaper. That shouldn't have happened. That universe needs balance. Without Harry Potter there, Voldemort will evade even me. I won't allow that. So I'm giving you a second chance. Say yes and you'll wake in Harry Potter's body. You will for all intents and purposes be Harry Potter. You will carry his blood in your veins. You will look and sound like him. Say no and you move on, while I ask someone else".

'Cool'. I always wanted to travel. Then the chance to actually see Hogwarts in person excited me.

"What do I have to do?" I asked.

"Play a role" he said. "You've read the books, I need you to lead events to Voldemort's death".

"So to clarify I just let the same things happen like in the books?" I asked. I hated how Sirius died. I hated who Harry ended up with. I just hated everything about how the books ended. I didn't want to live that life. I asked again to clarify "Do I have to make the same life choices as Harry. Do I have to marry Ginny?".

"No. I don't give a damn about your love life. What I need you to do is ensure Voldemort dies. I'm just suggesting using you're knowledge from the books to help you along. If you screw the timeline, it'll be on you to kill him".

I began to think.

"If I agree and you shove me in Harry Potter's body, when and where will I wake up?" I asked unsure. 'He hasn't told me how Harry died'.

"Harry lost his soul to the Dementor that attacked him and his cousin. The aforementioned reaper ensured he was unable to fight back" he said. "He will be punished" he added in a whisper.

Suddenly it clicked to me.

"So he ensured Harry died to avoid him collecting all three Hallows, thus becoming master of death?".

"Yes, the fool wished to be in my good graces, and killed him".

"So does one really become your master if they unite the Hallows?" I asked nervously.

"No" he said as if insulted. "Don't be absurd. Like I said, balance is needed and I want that soul".

"Okay so if I agree what happens?". Will I remember everything? You mentioned my knowledge of the books would help so I'm assuming yes".

"You'll remember everything until you died".

"Will events in the mundane world of that universe occur as they have here?" I asked hoping to have at least some knowledge.

"Yes as long as you don't screw up and let Voldemort win, the mundane world will march forward and events will lead up to resemble this one".

'Time travel'. I remembered the Harry Potter books took place during the 90's. I'll be able to use the knowledge to my benefit. Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, not to mention any of the cryptocurrencies that emerge. Even just with one of these, if one invested wisely, they'd never want for anything. Then thoughts of my mom and sister entered my head. 'How would this affect them?'. I felt horrible getting excited and forgetting them.

"What of my mom?" I asked. "She needs me".

Seeing the look on my face Death said "They'll be okay. Your mom is a strong woman. They'll take care of each other. Your sister will grow up to become a travel photographer like she always dreamed of.

I of course was relieved and at the same time sad i wouldn't see them again.

'One less mouth to feed I guess'.

I once again felt I had to clarify everything and listed my concerns:

"Will I awake in Harry Potter's body with a Dementor next to me?".

"Yes. I'll give you a chance by restraining the Dementors for a few seconds. I'll also return Dudley's soul"

I nodded. 'Who cares about Dudley?'.

"I'll obviously have to use the Patronus to fight it off like in the books, will I be able to use magic?".

"Yes you'll remember Harry's life as well as your own. All his knowledge of his world. Like I said you'll be Harry Potter".

"Okay" I responded.

"I can save Sirius if I want?".

Death nodded.

"I can also begin to destroy the horcruxes early if I choose".

Death silently nodded.

"I can date anyone besides Ginny?".

I once again waited for confirmation. This was an important aspect to me. I really hated the last books.

"I have to die at Voldemort's feet before I can kill him".

"Yes said Death. "I'll pay close attention to ensure none of my reapers take unwanted initiative once more. So have you decided?".

I recalled my life. 'Fuck it'.

"Sure" I said. "Let's do it".

"Excellent" said Death. "One thing, to ensure you acclimate to Harry's life I've erased knowledge of your name".

"What?" I shouted. Then I began to think of my name. I couldn't remember it. I panicked.

"Names are important" he continued. "They carry our sense of selves. By removing it from your memory it'll help you become Harry Potter".

I calmed down and thought it over. 'It makes sense. I imagine it would've taken me a while to get used to being called Harry instead of…instead of?'.

"Damn it".

"Ready to go then?" asked Death.

"Yes" I said after hesitating a bit. "I'm ready".





My version of the Harry Potter fan traveling to HP universe cliche, where he inhabits Harry's body after Harry dies. Fan is a Mexican-American teen who will bring his perspective to the story. Hopefully the story will be as funny as I think it will be. No planned pairings. No Ginny pairing for sure.

The rays of the morning sun slowly approaching the sleeping figure of a young child, nestled in a blanket as he face furrowed. Perspiration's heavy as he turned when suddenly "AAAH!!" His scream reverberated through the house.

 His breathing as quick as his head snapping to take in every corner of his surrounding, slowly his breathing calmed down 'its just a dream, it's just a dream'. Words he repeated in his mind as he remembered the last moments of his previous life. 

 Tears threatened to pour down his face as he remembers all that he left behind, the wife that he doesn't remember, the parents and friends all but blurry faces, nameless.

 Hurried footsteps could be heard as Matthew cane rushing down the stairs "what's wrong?!", blazing into the lounge with a cricket bat he scanned his surroundings looking for a threat. Clearly just woken up as his bed hair and pyjamas were scruffy, and seeing no further threats he focuses on the child in front of him "are you ok?", Harry nods "it was just a nightmare... a realistic nightmare" his voice sounding tired, with a weight way too much for one his age.

 "Do you want to talk about it?" Matthew asks, genuine concern in his voice but Harry declines "it's alright, I'll be fine". Matthew finally sits down in the same seat he took the previous night, "seems like you've woken up the entire neighbourhood you did" a chuckle escapes him, this proved slightly infectious as Harry scoffs but a trace of a smile on his lips. 

 "They were up anyway" "it's 6:30am, not sure who's up at this time" but Harry shrugs and lays back down with an arm over his eyes. "If you want to talk about anything I'm here" Matthew turns back towards the stairs barely catching the nod of the child.

The hours roll by as we find both individuals sat by the kitchen table eating a traditional English breakfast, "don't you have work or something?" Harry asks as it's already passed 9:00am. A yawn was his reply as Matthew drinks his juice "I'm a lecturer, and today being Thursday I don't have to be in till 1:00pm as I've only got 2 seminars" 

 Harry nods then focuses on his meal again, "what are you going to do today?" The question causes Harry to pause, while he's like to go to Diagon Alley he also felt like there was no need to rush "do you think I could stay in for a while? Just so I can think a bit more" the last part said in barely a whisper that Matthew barely caught. 

 "Hmm I'll have work in a bit and there's not much for you to do around here, I don't have any children's books for.." "I don't need children's books!" Harry snapped slightly irked by Matthews comment. Matthew stared wide eyed for a bit "oookaaay, kids these days, what are you going to do? Watch tv all day?" 

 Harry calms down a bit "sorry about that, but no I plan on reading a bit" "hmm I don't think I have any books for your level in this house, maybe some novels?" Harry shrugs "don't worry about it, I'll find something to keep me preoccupied" then the duo carried on with their meal, the occasional light topics here and there.

 Hours went by and as it was time for Matthew to head to the university, "there's food in the fridge, can you cook?" Harry nods but mutters "what type of adult asks a 6 year old to cook for himself, at least cook something and leave it in the fridge for me to eat later" but Matthew couldn't hear him as he was heading to his car. "I'll see you around 6:00pm, don't burn the house down" "don't worry I won't", he watched as Matthew drove off.

 "Alright I can't be sulking anymore, let's see what books I can find around here!" He started exploring the house, and while Matthew doesn't have a study he does have a section where he stirs his books and other random junk. "Let's see what we have here hmmm 'The Nature of Mathematics and the Mathematics of Nature', forgot he was a maths lecturer urgh, flaws" there was a vibration however this was only in his mind.

[Flaw 1. Description of biophysics using the mathematical formula x4....] a list of 59 flaws appeared in his mind "yeahhh I'm not looking through all that". For the next hour 'flaws' could be hear repeatedly throughout the house as Harry went through every room he could an every book he could find that had a book in it, most of it was mathematical based theories. 

"Hmm he doesn't have as many books as I thought he would, but beggars can't be choosers." A sigh escapes him as he closes his eyes, once again stepping into the library he notices the books floating around the dome. 'Compile' suddenly all of the books rushed into the dome and after a few seconds a single book materialises from the dome towards him. 'Flaws' following that a list of 9 flaws appear, "still not enough enough books at create a perfect mathematical book, and the other books are on random topics. Aah and I don't even have a change of clothes to go out with" 

He was frustrated as there wasn't much he could think of to do at the moment, "maybe I could work on my Occlumency" like that hours passed as he tried and failed to clear his mind, with references from fiction not helping so he just gave up as sitting still wasn't that good for his body.

 In a moment of inspiration he suddenly remembered something he could try, "is there any free house elves that would like to bond with me?!" His clear voice said into the air, he waited in anticipation but after a minute nothing happened, he tried it again for the next 5 minutes but yet again, nothing. 

 "Am I doing something wrong?" He then had an idea, closing his eyes he focused on the feeling of his energy, trying hard to direct it towards his mouth as his entire concentration was required for it. After a few minutes of trying he managed to direct a bit of it to his lips and he repeated his question "is there any free house elves that would like to bond with me?!" 

 Suddenly he heard 2 pops that startled him before he turned around and saw 2 creatures 'ok they do look ugly in person' but he brushed that thought away as they looked at him with wide eyes. The one on the left was the first to speak "did yous call for us free elves?" Harry nodded "yes I did, I was looking for free elves to bond with me, what are your names?" They eyes widened as they heard what he said then suddenly became energetic "this ones Tuny" "and this ones Twinky".

 "Great my name is Harry Potter and..." he didn't get to finish his sentence as he was interrupted "Aaah the great Harry Potter has called Tuny/Twinky, is an honour sir!" They went on for a minute rambling about how it was an honour while he watched getting annoyed "thank you!" Cutting then off from their shouting "yes I'm Harry Potter, I'm looking for a house elf to bond with, will I be able to with one of you?" "YES!" 

 A sigh escaped him "so how do we go about this?"  "All yous needs is to put your hand on our head and think of bonding, we'll do the rest" the smiles on their face could have made the Joker proud, "rightttt and thinking of bonding entails?" "Ooh something like I want you to be my house elf, see easy", not sure if it was that easy he tried it on Twinky. 

 While concentrating he feels a connection with her? Opening his eyes she greets him "Twinky greets the great young master Harry Potter", he repeats the process with Tuny and as previously he felt a connection with the house elves. 

 "Now that that's sorted, I need you to get me some clothes, I don't care where you get it from, just make sure it fits me." As soon as he said that the both popped away, not even a minute later there was an assortment of garments on his floor as his 2 eager house elves waited for his next order.

A soul following a fatal accident awakens in the fictional world of Harry Potter, with no recollection of his identity or familiar faces, how will he overcome the trials and tribulations he is to face while wearing the body of a recently deceased Harry Potter.

Harry stood there, and stared with his mouth open at the family vault. He had so many questions he didn't know where to start.
From just outside the door of the vault, Professor McGonagall watched him, seeming to lean casually against the wall, but her eyes intent. Well, that made sense. Being plopped in front of a giant heap of gold coins was a test of character so pure it was archetypal.

"Are these coins the pure metal?" Harry said finally.
"What?" hissed the goblin Griphook, who was waiting near the door. "Are you questioning the integrity of Gringotts, Mr. Potter-Evans-Verres?"
"No," said Harry absently, "not at all, sorry if that came out wrong, sir. I just have no idea at all how your financial system works. I'm asking if Galleons in general are made of pure gold."
"Of course," said Griphook.
"And can anyone coin them, or are they issued by a monopoly that thereby collects seigniorage?"
"What?" said Professor McGonagall.
Griphook grinned, showing sharp teeth. "Only a fool would trust any but goblin coin!"
"In other words," Harry said, "the coins aren't supposed to be worth any more than the metal making them up?"
Griphook stared at Harry. Professor McGonagall looked bemused.
"I mean, suppose I came in here with a ton of silver. Could I get a ton of Sickles made from it?"
"For a fee, Mr. Potter-Evans-Verres." The goblin watched him with glittering eyes. "For a certain fee. Where would you find a ton of silver, I wonder?"
"I was speaking hypothetically," Harry said. For now, at any rate. "So... how much would you charge in fees, as a fraction of the whole weight?"

Griphook's eyes were intent. "I would have to consult my superiors..."
"Give me a wild guess. I won't hold Gringotts to it."
"A twentieth part of the metal would well pay for the coining."
Harry nodded. "Thank you very much, Mr. Griphook."
So not only is the wizarding economy almost completely decoupled from the Muggle economy, no one here has ever heard of arbitrage. The larger Muggle economy had a fluctuating trading range of gold to silver, so every time the Muggle gold-to-silver ratio got more than 5% away from the weight of seventeen Sickles to one Galleon, either gold or silver should have drained from the wizarding economy until it became impossible to maintain the exchange rate. Bring in a ton of silver, change to Sickles (and pay 5%), change the Sickles for Galleons, take the gold to the Muggle world, exchange it for more silver than you started with, and repeat.
Wasn't the Muggle gold to silver ratio somewhere around fifty to one? Harry didn't think it was seventeen, anyway. And it looked like the silver coins were actually smaller than the gold coins.
Then again, Harry was standing in a bank that literally stored your money in vaults full of gold coins guarded by dragons, where you had to go in and take coins out of your vault whenever you wanted to spend money. The finer points of arbitraging away market inefficiencies might well be lost on them. He'd been tempted to make snide remarks about the crudity of their financial system...

But the sad thing is, their way is probably better.
On the other hand, one competent hedge fundie could probably own the whole wizarding world within a week. Harry filed away this notion in case he ever ran out of money, or had a week free.
Meanwhile, the giant heaps of gold coins within the Potter vault ought to suit his near-term requirements.
Harry stumped forward, and began picking up gold coins with one hand and dumping them into the other.
When he had reached twenty, Professor McGonagall coughed. "I think that will be more than enough to pay for your school supplies, Mr. Potter."
"Hm?" Harry said, his mind elsewhere. "Hold on, I'm doing a Fermi calculation."
"A what?" said Professor McGonagall, sounding somewhat alarmed.
"It's a mathematical thing. Named after Enrico Fermi. A way of getting rough numbers quickly in your head..."
Twenty gold Galleons weighed a tenth of a kilogram, maybe? And gold was, what, ten thousand British pounds a kilogram? So a Galleon would be worth about fifty pounds... The mounds of gold coins looked to be about sixty coins high and twenty coins wide in either dimension of the base, and a mound was pyramidal, so it would be around one-third of the cube. Eight thousand Galleons per mound, roughly, and there were around five mounds of that size, so forty thousand Galleons or 2 million pounds sterling.
Not bad. Harry smiled with a certain grim satisfaction. It was too bad that he was right in the middle of discovering the amazing new world of magic, and couldn't take time out to explore the amazing new world of being rich, which a quick Fermi estimate said was roughly a billion times less interesting.
Still, that's the last time I ever mow a lawn for one lousy pound.
Harry wheeled from the giant heap of money. "Pardon me for asking, Professor McGonagall, but I understand that my parents were in their twenties when they died. Logically, it would make just as much sense to buy it now instead of later, and get the use of it right away. It's the same money either way, right? I mean, I would want a good one, with lots of room inside, good enough that I wouldn't have to just get a better one later..." Harry trailed off hopefully.
Professor McGonagall's gaze didn't waver. "And just what would you keep in a trunk like that, Mr. Potter -"
"Books."
"Of course," sighed Professor McGonagall.
"You should have told me much earlier that sort of magic item existed! And that I could afford one! Now my father and I are going to have to spend the next two days frantically hitting up all the secondhand bookshops for old textbooks, so I can have a decent science library with me at Hogwarts - and maybe a small science fiction collection, if I can assemble something decent out of the bargain bins. Or better yet, I'll make the deal a little sweeter for you, okay? Just let me buy -"
"Mr. Potter! You think you can bribe me?"
"What? No! Not like that! I'm saying, Hogwarts can keep some of the books I bring, if you think that any of them would make good additions to the library. I'm going to be getting them cheap, and I just want to have them around somewhere or other. It's okay to bribe people with books, right? That's a -"

Professor McGonagall's body seemed to slump, the shoulders lowering within her black robes. "I cannot deny the sense of your words, though I much wish I could. I will allow you to withdraw an additional hundred Galleons, Mr. Potter." She sighed again. "I know that I shall regret this, and I am doing it anyway."
"That's the spirit! And does a 'mokeskin pouch' do what I think it does?"
"It can't do as much as a trunk," the witch said with visible reluctance, "but... a mokeskin pouch with a Retrieval Charm and Undetectable Extension Charm can hold a number of items until they are called forth by the one who emplaced them -"
"Yes! I definitely need one of those too! It would be like the super beltpack of ultimate awesomeness! Batman's utility belt of holding! Never mind my swiss army knife, I could carry a whole tool set in there! Or books! I could have the top three books I was reading on me at all times, and just pull one out anywhere! "But oh, Professor McGonagall, why rain on my parade? Surely this is a happy day, when I discover all things wizarding for the first time! Why act the part of the grumpy grownup when instead you could smile and remember your own innocent childhood, watching the look of delight upon my young face as I buy a few toys using an insignificant fraction of the wealth that I earned by defeating the most terrible wizard Britain has ever known, not that I'm accusing you of being ungrateful or anything, but still, what are a few toys compared to that?"
"You," growled Professor McGonagall. There was a look on her face so fearsome and terrible that Harry squeaked and stepped back, knocking over a pile of gold coins with a great jingling noise and sprawling backwards into a heap of money. Griphook sighed and put a palm over his face. "I would be doing a great service to wizarding Britain, Mr. Potter, if I locked you in this vault and left you here."
And they left without any more trouble.

How they go about approaching people and how they all have the halo of all going according to the plan. Rarely they have any issue with plot holes, like how can a baby defeat the power dark lord or how Defence Against The Dark Arts potion is Curse and no one was able to break it. There are multiple plot issue that was never talked by Rowling and it was taken up by fan-fiction society to manipulate as they want.
'Wait am a Main Character?' I sat up again with frown on my face. In the last 50+ year life I have all way like as I wanted and worked hard to get what I wanted. Money, Fame, lovers..husbands.
Should I just live it like that, or should I be like Lily even is going to be (according to the books or fan fiction). Goodie two shoes, know it all, good at charms, wife of Potter and mother to Harry Potter? Was there more to Lily Potter I mean Evens than that?

IF I was Lily Evans then first, I need to remove the status of muggle born from me. This is trick and will make smarts and money but this NEED to be done. Second, I must decide should I connect with Severus Snape or not? I need to stay neutral in this war. 
'Should I leave British Isles?' No, I need to qualify as full grow witch and then I can do what I want.
Potter and Black, I know lot about them due to books and fan-fiction, what is true and what real that is what I need to figure out.
With all these thought I went to sleep having a weird nightmare of running while getting chased by dogs with knife in their mouths and running with ravens by my side.

Next morning my mother or Lily mother came in and start fussing over me. I just rolled my eyes and did what she told while thinking about my home situation. Helen and harry Evans are good and normal (eye roll and yes, I said that about Lily's) parents. Her sister on the other had is a stuck-up, stupid girl who things she is the best and deserve the best, Petunia Evans.
Normal, easy and muggle life. This is what Lily's I mean my life is.
I don't think Lily has met Severus Snape as they just moved into this house 2 days ago and Lily in all her hyper running got hit in her head by the door and fainted.
All TADA I appear in her body all 53 year back on time. Fuck.
'OK, calm down' I murmured starting hard at my breakfast.

Wait do I even have magic. I screamed initially and standing up straight. All Evans started at me and I just stood there thinking hard. This body has no collection of magic or anything she has ever done.
