• 1 large fish head (approximately 800 gm.-1 kg). like Tuna/Emperor, or a couple of smaller ones
• 4 tbsp. cooking oil
• 1tsp. mustard seeds or rai
• 1 1/2 inch piece of ginger, finely grated or ground
• 2 stalks of curry leaves (about 20 individual leaves)
• 2 large onions (500 gm. approximately), peeled and chopped roughly
• 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped (optional)
• 1 tbsp. coarse, made mustard
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp. turmeric
• 2 tsp. coriander powder
• 1/2-1 tsp. chili powder, adjust to taste
• 1-2 whole red chilies
• 2 large tomatoes, chopped into small pieces or use tinned/pureed tomatoes
• 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice, adjust to taste
• 1 1/2 liter hot water
• 1 can (250 ml.) coconut milk (optional)
Instructions
1. Chop onion, ginger, and garlic finely or process in an electric processor.
2. Heat oil in a wok or frying pan. Add mustard seeds.
3. When seeds splutter, add onions, ginger (and garlic if used) and curry leaves, fry until onions are browned.
4. Add turmeric, coriander powder, whole chilies, chili powder, coarse made-mustard, and salt. Mix and fry for 1 minute.
5. Add tomatoes and vinegar. Mix in and fry for a couple of minutes, until it looks shiny and oils separate.
6. Add water, bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Add coconut milk here, if used.
7. Add the fish head, bring to boil and simmer gently, spooning the curry sauce over the head frequently. After 15 minutes, turn the fish head over gently, without breaking it.
8. Simmer for a further 15 minutes or so. The oil floats at the top of the gravy when it is ready.
9. Serve hot with Boiled Rice or Plain Pulao Rice.
After giving the recipe, I excuse myself from the kitchen and leave to take a bath. Before leaving I add some instruction to prepare another dish that they already learn for dinner as well like wakame salad and birds nest soup. I also want to cook the lobster I bring from the beach, but I will cook them personally since the amount of lobster is limited and no time for experimenting yet. Later when I can secure supply line from the beach to castle maybe I can teach the cooks here about lobster dishes.

The morning quickly arrived, John quickly told his parents that he is now going to school. Breeze National High School is just ten minutes away from their home.

John knew it and shook his head with a sad smile and realized that the ceremony has already ended.

After reaching his classroom he sat in his respective seat and his dull look once appeared again making his classmates stared at him with a funny look. However, John didn't care at them because he is busy thinking about his rewards.

John felt pissed that he had to spend money again, and he had just bought snacks worth of PHP20 earlier so he only has PHP30 left in his pocket. 

John looked at the teacher on the front who is discussing and then he raises his hand and the teacher called him and he said, "Sir, can I go to CR?"

The teacher stared at John with a stern expression for stopping his discussion and said, "Go."

John thank the teacher and left the classroom under the eyes of his classmates and goes to the canteen not far away. 

After arriving in the canteen, he bought all his money and got 30 candies inside the plastic bag.

"So what's the next step, system?" John asked the system.

"Ding! Do you wish to convert the x30 candy into [Golden Candy]?" 

John look left and right and saw that there were no students coming to the canteen because it's still class hours so he did not hesitate and said, "Convert!"

The Candies in the plastic bag glows with a red color and all the candies disappeared. After ten seconds, the plastic bag glows in a red color again and new candies appeared which looks shiny like gold and naturally it is the [Golden Candy].

John took one candy and stared at it for a while and a hint of expectation appeared in his eyes. After removing the cover, he slowly put the candy in his mouth and his taste buds exploded into something that he cannot explain.

It was simply too delicious, this is the most delicious candy he had ever eaten. The taste seems sweet but not so sweet and there seems to be an unknown ingredient that he himself thought it didn't exist on Earth!

"As expected of the candy made in a high tier planet. I believe just this candy can already make me become a rich man in just a few years." John said to himself while a smile appeared on his face.

John glance at the canteen owner who is sitting inside his shop while listening radio and he thought, 'Maybe he will like this candy and order for more.'

John left the canteen first in order not to look suspicious and goes to CR then came back to the canteen after five minutes. Then he said to the canteen owner, "Boss Sho, are you interested in buying new candies that will make students go mad just to buy it?"

Boss Sho opened his eyes and glance at the young man and remembered this was the kid who bought candies earlier but he still asked, "What candy is that?"

John smiled at Boss Sho and took out two Golden Candy from his pocket and gave it to him.

"I believe you will surely like it," John said to Boss Sho while waiting for him to eat it.

Boss Sho stared at him with doubt and took the candy and stared at it. The cover was already different so does the candy inside.

'Is this really not the candy he bought from me?' Sho thought suspiciously but shook his head and started removing the candy.

Sho felt surprised seeing such beautiful candy. The golden candy while twinkling is truly beautiful to look at and Boss Sho opened his mouth and started to savor the taste.

Sho widens his eyes and a hint of shock and intoxication could be seen in his eyes while still tasting the candy. It was only after a moment that Sho woke up from his intoxication.

"Kid, tell me how much is this?! Where do you get this? Tell me, I'll give you money!" Boss Sho said excitedly while looking at John.

John smiled inside with happiness but gave Boss Sho with a mysterious smile and replied, "I got this from my uncle and this is their new product but it will not be launch yet. But because I lack money, I decided to sell this to you. You can sell this golden candy php5 per piece."

Boss Sho thought for a while and said, "Okay, I'll buy yours at php3 per piece. How many do you have?"

John shook his head and gave him a dissatisfied look and said, "4 per piece and lets deal or else I will offer it to the other canteen."

When Boss Sho heard it, he stared at John's immature baby face and wanted to give him a slap while thinking how come such an innocent-looking kid is too greedy.

"Fine fine, but promise me that you will never sell it outside only the canteen here in our school." Boss Sho said because he knew that once this will appear outside the school, it will no longer be that rare.

When John heard it, happiness surge in his heart because that's what he truly wants. His candy didn't even have a certificate that it is safe, and although he believes that the system wouldn't harm unfortunately he cannot say it.

"Sure, I'll give you ten candies first since I've already eaten fifteen candies I brought today," John said without blushing spouting his lies and gave the ten candies.

Boss Sho twitch face twitch when he heard it and then gave John PHP40. John knew that he already stayed outside for more than twenty minutes and he is absolutely sure that his teacher is already angry.

"Boss Sho, remember do not disclose that we made a deal or they might no longer come to your canteen and instead will come to me," John said to Boss Sho and bid goodbye before going back to his classroom.

Boss Sho shook his head and grab the golden candy in his hand while staring at it intently. The cover was different, so does the candy. 

'Did that kid really bought candies from me which means trying to make a subtle hint? After all, how could he have bought candies from me if he has already candies?' Boss Sho thought to himself and while looking at the candies on his canteen,  he felt seeing a pile of shit.

But what he didn't know was that John didn't give him any subtle hint. He just wanted to use his candies and convert it into Golden Candy!

"Go forth!"
The Skeleton Warrior lightly touched the place he was hit, then walked into the cave.
As he watched the Skeleton Warrior go in, Hyrkan had a solemn expression.
'I'll finish this in one go.'
The Rising Star title wasn't something that could be so easily obtained. Most players would fail even if they were given the chance.
The reason?
One had to clear what would normally be at least a level 20 quest at level 15. The quest difficulty was just too high. But that's why it was called the Rising Star title. It was for someone who could do at level 15 what others could at level 20. Only someone of such caliber would be worthy of being called a Rising Star.
Plus, a 3-man party was the standard in Warlord. Quest difficulties were set with 3-man party being the standard. In other words, Hyrkan had to do alone what a 3-man party would find hard to do.
It was in no way easy.
'If I can't do this at level 15, it just means it's too difficult for me to do.'
That's why he got to level 15. Though everything would come to waste if he leveled up during the quest, it was a risk he had to take. As he didn't have the capital to plaster himself with unique-rank items, this was the best he could do.
Hyrkan pulled his sword out in advance, and lowered his stance. Concentrating on everything around himself and his Skeleton Warrior, he followed behind it. His concentration was now sharper than ever.
'Throw whatever you want at me.'
The smile beneath his hahoe mask was as frightening as a serial killer's. It demonstrated his confidence to catch whatever that's thrown at him.
But after just 10 minutes, his smile shattered.
With a snap of his finger, he yelled.
"End Camera!"
Then, irritated, he scratched his head.
"Garrggh!"
'Why isn't there a single monster?'
For 10 minutes, Hyrkan remained tense, as if he was walking on a mine field. But nothing came out to greet Hyrkan. There wasn't even a single split path, which was common in a cave like this. He had been walking through the same, long path continuously.
'My whole body's itching.'
These 10 minutes have been mentally taxing. Hyrkan wasn't just walking; he was walking while maintaining peak concentration and tension. Furthermore, the limited vision from the darkness, the one way path, the unchanging scenery, and the enclosed space all caused more stress. It was like staring at a clock on the wall in a white room.
Hyrkan hopped in spot and slashed in sword in thin air. It wasn't to warm-up his body, but rather his mind. Only after did the knot in his mind unravel. Hyrkan then reassessed his situation.
'Looks like there's something huge ahead.'
Hunting grounds had their own styles as well.
Even at the same difficulty, some were difficult because of the sheer amount of monsters, while some were difficult because there monsters were more-powerful in place of being fewer in number.
Anyone could tell that it was currently the latter.
'It's not so bad…'
Hyrkan thought it was better to fight against a few than multiple. This also lowered the chance of leveling up.
'But it's not necessarily good either…'
Even so, it was hard to find comfort in this situation. In the end, he would have to face a strong monster.
After organizing his thoughts, Hyrkan held his watch to his mouth.
"Start Camera."
He began walking.

The Skeleton Warrior suddenly stopped on his feet.
"Hm? Walk! Go forward! Why'd you stop?"

Complete darkness blocked his sight, and not even the light on the Skeleton Warrior's head could shine light through it. Rather than darkness, it was as if there was a barrier made of darkness blocking their path.
Hyrkan reached his hands out into this darkness.
[Would you like to enter the stage?]
Immediately, he heard an alert.
'As I thought, an instance dungeon.'
The darkness came from an instance dungeon.
In Warlord, instance dungeons weren't too important. In fact, instance dungeons were often tied to quest. Once the quest was cleared, the instance dungeon would often disappear. This was why instance dungeons weren't too important. They couldn't be recycled.
"Hm."
Instance dungeons had their pros and cons.
The pro was that they were isolated from the outside. This prevented others from interfering and messing with whoever was inside. This was why guilds welcomed instance dungeons. They could do everything according to their plan. Furthermore, as instance dungeons required success on the first try, it served as a good symbol of achievement.
But it was not without flaws.
'I can't run…'
Though players were free to enter, they weren't free to leave.
If it was a field, Hyrkan could simply run if he went up against something he could not handle. It wouldn't be wrong to say that an all-strength necromancer like him was built to escape. If it came down to it, he could use his Skeleton Warrior as bait and run. But this didn't work in instance dungeons. He couldn't leave before killing the monsters inside. He didn't know what was inside. He couldn't escape either. He had no reinforcements. It was kill or be killed. With this in mind, the darkness in front of him was truly full of unfavorable conditions.

Year 2035. The Virtual reality game, Warlord, changed the world. An Jaehyun was one of the many who wished to change his life through the game. After dedicating his life to the game, he was met with a betrayal. A betrayal by his comrades. As a result, he lost everything. But a chance was given to him. A chance to redo everything again! "I won't play with others again. Whatever the outcome, I'll show that I can do it alone." Others rolled a dice to split the spoils of victory. An Jaehyun ate it all by himself. It was the start of An Jaehyun's solo game life.

After cooking her last dish, Asha darted to school. She would graduate this school year from her second higher education. She could have graduated a year ago but her situation was dire after her father's death.

She could hardly understand the teacher's words because her mind was full of the things she would do for the competition tomorrow. After class, she ran home, anxious for her clam and excited about her preparations.

When she opened the door of her house, the bowl and the clam were on the wet floor. A crow was pecking the clam while a red-orange light flowed at the object and the attacker from a half-opened window.

She shooed the crow away. "Oh, my clam." She picked it up and found there was a crack on top. "Oh my, this won't last tomorrow. What I'm going to do?"

She laid it back on the bowl and filled it water. She stared at it while thinking the best means to preserve it.

Her thoughts went back to the freezing cold river water. She cringed. "Oh, I must cook it, no other choice." 

She reread the recipe to make sure she won't regret what she'll do. It said that the oyster must be boiled but the stock must be used to cook the fish.

"Ahhh, what a mess. Why was I careless? Why didn't I cover the bowl?" She pulled her hair in annoyance. She sat on her bed, feeling exhausted. Her fears dictated to give up but her gaze went to the sole photo of her father and mother. "No, I won't give up."

She stood up and paced back and forth. "Think, think, Asha, what is the best thing to do?" 

She opened the window, sat on the bench as she watched the mangrove trees outside. Asha remembered her father doing this when he had a problem. "Baba, if you were me, what are you going to do?" 
 
Asha wished with all her heart that she could receive an answer or sign from her father in some way but none came. "Why was I thinking to get an answer from Baba? I better cook it."

She boiled the clam, brought it to the restaurant, and placed it in the chiller. She made sure to write a note on the container to prevent anyone from touching it.

She restrained herself from asking Mukti or the head chef for her other ingredients, of which surely they would give, but shame won over her good sense. They already helped her more than she could ask for, she thought. 

That night, she went around her neighbors. 

An old woman extended a small cloth bag. "Here's the ginger and the garlic. I hope this will help you tomorrow."

"Thanks, Thakurma. I hope I can repay you someday." Asha took the bag and placed it in her basket.

She held Asha's hands and looked at her with worried eyes. "No need to repay me. I wish I could help you more. I'm really sorry about what happened to your Baba. Will you be fine?" 

"I'll be fine. Don't worry, Thakurma. This surely would help me tomorrow." She bent down and placed her hand on the old lady's feet as respect and stood back up.

A young lady approached Asha. "Asha, here's the lemongrass, cilantro, and coconut. You better bring this to the market and let someone separate the coconut meat."

"Thank you, Mashi. I'm indebted to you." She placed the objects to her basket.

"Asha, is there more I can help?" Suddenly, the lady hugged her. "I really feel bad for what happened to your family. Your Ma died and now your Baba." She let go and continued while lifting her fist in anger. "That pompous judge is surely being paid. He pronounced your father guilty and made the sentence in a hurry. They didn't give him a way to prove himself or let a government lawyer assist and defend him."

"I agree." Another lady came out from her house. She extended a bag to Asha. "I don't believe your father poisoned the official. The more I couldn't believe that food poisoning was the real reason for his death." She squinted her eyes as she looked at Asha. "Can food poisoning kill a person? I remember my Ma was sick and the doctor said she was food poisoned for eating stale food, but she didn't die. She only took medicine and she was okay again."

"I don't know, Mashi Moriom. I want to know, too." Asha replied with more questions in her mind based on what the lady said.

The other Mashi raised her hands with her every muscle tensed and added. "The law is nothing but written statements for rich men to exploit the poor and the judges are imperious men that wish nothing but endowment from those wealthy families." She finished feeling satisfied with her words.

Thakurma gave a dismissive wave of her hand and spoke. "It was tragic. Yet, life in our village is such. We can do nothing for being poor. Actually, deaths no longer hold too much emotional pain to some here for life is not easy. We see a neighbor die every month or even within a week." The old lady shook her head as she walked in her small straw house.

"Good night, Thakurma, and thank you," Asha said. The old lady nodded and closed the door.

The other ladies waved their hands and left Asha on her own musings. She looked around.

Right now, winter would cause more deaths due to their unprotected and unheated house. Most of the houses in this place were made of GI-sheet roofs and walls. Some were made of Nipa roof and wood or straw walls. A few bricked houses stood near the city district. Life was hard in the village of Mangpur which was alongside the contrasting beautiful tourist spot Mangrove Forest in Panibon.

"Tragic indeed," Asha said to herself and went home.

Inside her house, she checked her list. She made sure all of the ingredients were in her basket. 

Sleep eluded her either due to the biting cold or because of the excitement. Nonetheless, the dreamland received her after an hour of reading a book with an oil lamp.

Asha woke up with the first straw of light that came through the holes of her wooden walls. She rechecked all of her ingredients making sure all were there. She thought that was all then remembered something.

"Yes, the fish, I almost forgot." She wore a coat, carried the basket, and her other things then ran out. Fortunately, a fisherman was still sitting beside the river trying to sell his last fish. Asha bought it with a little bargain and a smile. The man knew her so he gave in and handed the fish for a few Rupees.

She headed to work. The competition would commence at ten in the morning and near her workplace. She was ready, she thought, with a fraction of apprehension inside.

As she arrived at an intersection, a car stopped next to her. The driver opened the window and asked, "Little girl, do you know the place called Pranabanta restaurant."

She heard the hated 'little girl' again, and bluntly answered with her hands on her hips, "I'm not a little girl, don't call me that or I won't answer you."  

The man recognized that voice behind the veiled face. He couldn't forget it after what happened yesterday. "Oh, Miss, glad to meet you again. Sorry again for mistaking you as a little girl."

"Who are you? I've never met you." Her annoyance flared.

"Actually, we met yesterday at Panibon."

Her black eyes narrowed at him and, without warning, pointed a shaking finger at him. "You? Again?" 

"Yes, me again and sorry again." He felt awkward to be stared by her. In their place, women never stare at men, though men could. Nonetheless, he believed he was a modern guy and dismissed the thought, most of all those eyes were attractive. He said with a charming smile."Can you please tell me where is Pranabanta restaurant?"

"Humph, I won't answer you." She looked away and attempted to walk.

He bowed and palms stuck together above his head. "Please."

"Fine, go straight and at the corner is the place." Her finger pointed to her right.

"Thank you, thank you." He kept bowing and drove away.

"I hope you're lost and won't see you again, bye, bye," whispered Asha giggling.

She headed to her left, to Pranabanta Restaurant, her workplace.

Asha cooked the last batch of Chicken Torkari. She began the batch of her Baba's special Bapa Pitha. This sweet rice cake was a traditional delicacy cooked during winter time. However, her father's recipe was special compared to the common one that made a hit for their restaurant. 

The common recipe was ground rice combined with shredded coconut and steamed with molasses fillings. Her Baba's recipe had ground nuts, dried dates mixed with molasses. She prepared the fillings every night to give time for the nuts and dates to absorb the sweetness of the molasses and to produce the pasty texture. 

She was busy steaming the Bapa Pitha when the car, which stopped her earlier, parked outside the restaurant. The man got out, brushed his coat with his hands, and looked at the signage. "Man, I've been fooled big time. I hope I won't see her again."

Asha is now on the brink of helplessness and despair. Would she let despair to chase her for the rest of her life? Thus, she faces the man who wanted her dead and to stand as a woman in the world of chefs. 

She will create her own dishes and make his father's recipes alive again. Her adventures lead to clues of the real killer of his father and get entangles with love. 

Somehow, when she is face to face with the murderer, will she forgive or not? The Recipe of Love will show her the right decision to make.

This is a story of a girl in her journey to become a lady chef while in life-threatening situations and falls in love. So, don't expect a fast pace cooking battles. It is Asha's journey.

The setting of the story is India before its Independence in 1947. The exact timeline is 1945. However, in the first part of the story, I didn't use during the British occupation since the places/villages I mentioned do not exist in the present country. I used Bangla words since the culture is more on present Bangladesh. 

This is absolutely a fiction story.

If you have questions about the culture, please ask me in the comment and I'll try to explain things to you. I can't write the culture within the story for that will bore you to death. Most are written in the Author's Thoughts.

Why did he say she was cute? Because the one who entered the room was the little sister of the main character of this story. 

Kurome.

Even though some people had said the main character of the story was Tatsumi, the name of the story was Akame Ga Kill. 

Of course, the main character of this story is Akame. 

Haru looked at Kurome who was expressionless and sat down on the side of Bols while taking out a sack of candy. He frowned and knew that it was a drug to enhance her physical ability. 

If this drug was harmless then it was alright, but that drug would decrease her age and it would also make her into an addiction.

Haru didn't intend to say anything at this moment and kept maintaining his cold image since he wanted to hide his nervous feeling at this moment. 

Wave seemed quite interested in Kurome and said, "Hello, my name is Wave!" He introduced himself since they would be in the same squad. 

Kurome looked at Wave for a while before hugging her candy. "I won't give you anything!" 

"Who wants that?!" Wave said unconsciously and thought that this girl was quite weird. He scratched his head and decided to sit back next to Haru since he felt that Haru was the only normal person in this room.

Haru looked at Kurome and thought that this scene was quite funny. 

Kurome noticed Haru's gaze and hugged her candy tighter showing that she wouldn't share her candy with anyone. 

"..."

Haru was speechless and thought for a while. He took out the bread that he had baked in his original world. He had kept this bread inside his dimensional storage that was opened by his zipper power. 

The bread which had just come out from the dimensional storage was quite warm and it released a very delicious aroma. 

Bols, Wave, Kurome, Coro, and even Seryu who had been sleeping seemed to wake up from the aroma of the bread.

"Chief, where did you get that bread?" Seryu asked. 

"I have baked it before," Haru said. He tore part of the bread and started to eat it. 

Gulp!

They gulped at the same time when they saw him eating. 

"I want one too," Seryu said while holding Haru's uniform. 

"You have eaten one before, right?" Haru asked. 

"Well, I want one again," Seryu said. 

Kurome who heard Seryu couldn't help but feel jealous at this moment. She had been staring at the bread at Haru's hand and couldn't look away at this moment. 

Bols and Wave also wanted to try, but it was quite hard to ask when the person who had brought it was someone that they had only met for the first time.

Haru took out five pieces of bread out of nowhere and threw it at the five of them. 

They caught it unconsciously while looking at him. 

"Eat," Haru said. 

They nodded without hesitation. The warm bread on their hands made their mouths salivated and decided to eat the bread right away. They took a bite at the bread and felt like they had eaten a cloud. They started to have an imagination and they had become an angel laying lazily on the cloud. 

Kurome ate the bread very fast and kept looking at Haru with a hopeful expression. 

"I don't have anymore," Haru said while shaking his head. 

Kurome became disappointed at this moment. 

"That bread might be the most delicious thing that I have ever eaten," Wave said with a sigh and felt quite regretful to eat the bread as soon as possible. 

"Yeah...." Bols nodded and asked, "Can I ask for the recipe?" 

Then the door suddenly opened once again. This time the one who entered was a middle-aged man with a very feminine gesture while wearing a lab coat looking at them around. "Stylish!" His gaze became very excited when he saw Haru who was sitting there. 

Haru shuddered and became disgusted when he saw this man. 

It was lucky that Seryu didn't meet this guy and didn't have a modification on her body. 

"Hello, my name is Dr. Stylish. Nice to meet you, Chief Haru," Stylish said with a smile. 

Haru only nodded and didn't say anything. 

"Hmm... very shy aren't you? But I like it," Stylish said with a smile before sitting down between Bols and Kurome. 

If there was a chance Haru had thought to assassinate this person since this person was cancer to the Empire and had done a lot of cruel things to everyone in the Empire. 

"Wan! Wan!" Coro stood up in front of Haru tried while looking at Stylish with a hostile expression.

"What a bad dog," Stylish said with a frown.

Seryu didn't say anything, but she looked at Stylish with a wary expression. She didn't like it when Haru was being gazed at as if delicious meat by someone. 

The atmosphere became strange once again when Stylish entered this room.

Then another person also entered the room and looked at everyone. 

"Hello," this man greeted all of them while smiling. 

Wave who saw this person felt that this person was good since this person gave a normal aura. 

"My name is Wave!" Wave said excitedly. 

"My name is Run. I'm looking forward to working with all of you," Run said then looked at the people who were staying in this room. He could feel the strange atmosphere in this room. 

Bols stood up and tried to ease the atmosphere inside the room, but suddenly there was another person who entered the room. 

This person had a mask on their face and made them quite wary. 

"Who are you?" Wave frowned. 

The person with a mask walked toward them and shouted, "I don't recognize you seven! What are you doing here!" 

"Whoa, whoa, we're here because...." Wave wanted to say, but he was suddenly being attacked by the masked person. 

The masked person thought that his attack could attack Wave, but Wave had been pulled by someone who escaped from his attack. He put his attention toward this person and became interested. "Hooo?"

"Jiang Liu! Jiang Liu make the fire smaller now! You'll burn the syrup!" Wei Yi Yi snatch his sleeves and shake him hard.


"I can't control them! And can you even burn sugar?!" Jiang Liu tried to remove Wei Yi Yi's claws from his robe.


"An idiot can! Now do something or I'll make your portraits fuel to the fire!"


"Noooooo!!! How could you keep on threatening your brother?! Don't you feel compassion? Or empathy? Are you a heartless monkey?! Also, stop shaking. This brother brain will turn to mush!"


"Stop being noisy! At least reduce the firewood!"


At the side, Xiao Wang Xi ask, "Ummm... Do we separate them?"

"Close your eyes and pretend not to see them." Xiao Yuan Xi answered him tearfully. It's better for servants to remain as background decoration.

She watch as the child cautiously put it down and stare at it as the fruits cool down and crystallize. Wei Yi Yi laugh at how serious Jiang Chen on guarding them.


Turning around to Jiang Liu, she said, in a very contrasting tone, "Hurry up and coat them. If the syrup cools down, it'll be sticky."


"The steam is hot! Even crocodiles would run from this!" Jiang Liu even raise his hand to show her its reddening.


"Crocodile...??" Wei Yi Yi finally cannot follow.

After the five busied themselves in the kitchen, their tanghulu is finally done. Of course, all of this are not possible without making a disaster in the kitchen.

'I know how to cook! Not just with this!' Wei Yi Yi gave comfort to her own self.


Xiao Yuan Xi temporarily excused himself to call for the other servants. When he lead them to a now unrecognisable kitchen, he can only hide his face on his palm as the servants drop their jaws in shock.

There are firewood everywhere; ashes are even on the table; so much sticky substance on the counter!

What did the empress and the sixth prince even did?!

Ah, but the group is no longer here as they proceed to the imperial lake to feast. And even if their are, the servants still need to do their job without complaining.


"They're so pretty!" With astonishment clearly written on Jiang Chen's face, he picked one and raise it to his aunt to see.


Wei Yi Yi carried Jiang Chen and sat him on the swing. Xiao Wang Xi put a blanket on the ground for the empress and sixth prince to sit. 

Not caring for Jiang Liu's opinion, Wei Yi Yi grab the young eunuch to sit with them. This brother-in-law, although he always blabber and commenting on every single thing, he seems one to not mind the so called 'traditions'.

Wei Yi Yi never heard him fuss about how improper she treat the people around her.

But then Wei Yi Yi suddenly remember how he gave her an earful about how unlady like she is!

"Hmp!" Wei Yi Yi.

"???" Jiang Liu.

The sixth prince was momentarily lost on where that came from.


Wei Yi Yi let Jiang Chen pick first what he like and also pick up for Xiao Wang Xi. There was no care left for Jiang Liu.

Holding their own tanghulu, they took one bite each.


"Bleh! So sweet!" Xiao Wang Xi accidentally blurt out.


"Delicious!" "Yum!" The two royalty exclaim in unison. The young eunuch could only look at them doubtfully.


Taking another bite, they make fun of the 'crunch, crunch' sounds that are being produced with each chew. The two either crack the coating, chew it slow then fast, or bite hard; making different sound with each different action. 

It was a prologue on Jiang Liu biting his tongue.

"Ooowww!"

Wei Yi Yi laugh so hard, she almost roll on the ground.

"Stop laughing! It really hurts! You have no heart for this brother at all. At least pretend to care. See? See?! It's this small eunuch that came immediately to my aid! And you call yourself my sister." Jiang Liu shoot off his mount but his hand is reaching for the plate of tanghulu. Wei Yi Yi only raise her brow for him as reply.

"This is tastier than the one on the market. Even though big sister did not follow the recipe." Jiang Liu talk again.


"Sixth brother, things like sweets cannot be dictate by the recipe! You measure that with your heart and desire." Wei Yi Yi replied with a pleased tone.


The group slowly take their time to eat. Xiao Yuan Xi join them after instructing people in the kitchen. He brought a whole pot of tea to Wei Yi Yi's delight. 


Jiang Liu talk about senseless things which become even senseless in their ears. He insists on talking while eating and so was left on his own.


With her peripheral vision, Wei Yi Yi observed Jiang Chen as he eat with small bites. Her one hand holding a tanghulu while the other hold the swing so it won't sway. In her heart, she silently count how many the child have already ate.


Later, Jiang Chen's adult teeth will grow and replace his baby tooth but it would hurt if he develop cavities. Wei Yi Yi does not want him crying in the middle of the night. But it's also not good to discourage a child's appetite.


"Ah Chen, if you have three stick of tanghulu and a stranger ask for one. How many more do you have after?" She asked to distract him.


"Ummm... Two?" Wei Yi Yi laugh when Jiang Chen adorably count with his fingers.


"Wrong! It should still be three. If you want to be nice to others,  there's no problem with that. But don't give anything to a stranger unconditionally." With her eyes smiling and full of mischief, the empress pretend to reprimand the small prince with a stern voice. 



"That's... You're not supposed to tell that to a kid right?" Jiang Liu interjects. His hand pause from reaching for another stick.


'Shouldn't she be saying, 'be generous', since imperial nephew is a prince of a nation?'


"Listen carefully Ah Chen. It's bad to interrupt someone when they are talking. But if it's your sixth uncle, it's a duty to interrupt him at all cost." 


Jiang Liu almost threw the tanghulu to Wei Yi Yi. "Don't teach the imperial nephew bad things!"

"An empress is employed! While the Imperial noble consort is the true love, ah!"

What's so bad being a subordinate? 

As long as you do your work properly, you'll be paid and still have time to play.

Responsibilities? we have our boss for that! if things go wrong they'll hold the sky for you. Don't want to? Ayaya, point your fingers to them and people will hold them responsible for you.

Once the pill had gained the stamp of approval from the Li Family of the Green Vines, the prospective buyers flocked toward Chen Fan like housewives in the farmers market would to a discount section. They held out their cash on display for Chen Fan while staring greedily at the boy.
the biggest challenge for a martial artist was lack of resources. Internal Force cultivation was very difficult and also had a high minimum requirement for the practitioner's talent. However, if you are willing to exchange those herbs with your Physic Refining Pill's recipe, we might be able to come to an agreement."
Chen Fan hesitated. He had handed over Physic Refining Pill's recipe to the military and therefore the contents had become classified information. If he gave the information off to the public, he might be opening a can of worms that he didn't want to deal with.
"I have already given the recipe to others." Chen Fan shook his head. 
"Well, that's… unfortunate." One-Needle-Li heaved a sigh. 
Although he was convinced that the Physic Refining Pill was a top grade elixir, he could tell that the ingredients used in the pill were readily available. Therefore, it was viable for mass production once they had gained the recipe. With their connections overseas, they might even be able to export these pills to the overseas martial arts communities, such as the sects that practiced Ancient Muay Thai. 
The potential for profit of this little pill was unimaginable by most people.
"Can I buy it with money?" Chen Fan furrowed his brows and asked.
"Hehe." One-Needle-Li smiled haughtily. "You might not have heard of our Lis Group. We control over ninety percent of the high-end herb market and thirty percent of the medicine production capacity in China. We manage over five publicly traded pharmaceutical companies. Those thousand year old herbs are a family treasure and only a family elder is able to use it. May I ask how many billions you are going to pay for them?"
Chen Fan kept his silence but lamented in his mind.
He was in the same boat as the Zhen Family of Hong Kong. The deal was grossly in favor of the seller and therefore the seller could set the price at will. Those thousand year old herbs were able to prolong people's lives and therefore the Li Family would never have to worry about the lack of buyers.
One-Needle-Li shook his head and was about to turn around and leave. Without the recipe, these pills were far from being able to satisfy the Li Family's expectations.
Suddenly, he heard Chen Fan speak up again.
"Although I can't sell you the recipe for the physique Refining Pill, I have other elixirs' recipes for sale."
So saying, Chen Fan fished out another white and blue china bottle and produced a green pill from within. A green pellet hit the display plate and made a crisp clink. Suddenly, the air around Chen Fan was infused with a strong aroma of spring, and life. 
"What is that?"
One-Needle-Li was shocked by the development, and the little pill also arrested the attention of the girl from the Medicine God Vally Sect. 
"This elixir is called Lesser Essence Enhancing Pill. It can help an ordinary mortal ward off all kinds of ailments and prolong their lives. If consumed by an Internal Force user, it can help to boost the user's Internal Energy and cultivation attainment significantly." Chen Fan explained slowly.
The best kind of elixirs he had refined so far was the Essence Gathering Pill. They were made from Lesser Spirit herbs and the supply was limited. 
The second best pills were Arcane Pills. They were made by refining the Yin Snake's flesh and bones. It was sold at the price of one hundred million per pill and it was as effective as a thousand year old ginseng.

In less than half a year, these pills were able to help the old man recuperate his old injuries and significantly improve his cultivation. By then, the old man was only one small step away from reaching the peak of the Internal Force cultivation. 
As for the Body Tempering Pill, they were of the lowest grade and could be produced in large quantities at any given time. In addition, It had only one use: improving one's physical condition.
"Allow me to take a look please." One-Needle-Li carefully picked up the small green pill and brought it closer to his eyes. Suddenly, a rush of refreshing air wafted into his nose and it energized each and every cell in his body. He scratched the surface of the pill with a nail to produce some powder and tasted it. Afterward, surprise and shock were written all over his face. 
"This pill was filled to the brim the vital essence. It's of supreme-grade no doubt!"
The crowd boiled over as they heard One-Needle-Li's words.
The elixirs were classified into different grades. The low-grade elixirs were only a little better than run-of-the-mill herbal regimes that were readily available on the market. Medium grade elixirs were where elixirs started to differ from conventional medicines. The healing salves from the Ba Ji Sect, for example, were able to cure external wounds almost instantly.
Not a lot of people had ever heard of supreme-grade elixirs much less seen them.
"It really is supreme-grade. Young sir, are you willing to sell us the recipe? The Medicine God Vally Sect also had numerous thousand year old herbs for you to choose from." The girl wearing wooden beads spoke up. 
"Miss Jin Yi, we have a line up going on here. The Li Family had been talking to this young gentleman before you." One-Needle-Li rounded his eyes in displease.
Supreme-grade elixirs were so hard to come by that even the Li Family had only a few incomplete recipes of them.
Everyone looked to Chen Fan enviously.
Both Li Family and Medicine God Vally Sect had always been high on their horses due to their monopoly in the herbal medicine industry. However, there and then, they had to compete with each other to make a deal with a young boy. Second Lord Xin's eyes were green with envy. He had never imagined that Chen Fan had carried so many treasures on him.

One-Needle-Li and the others still had their doubts. However, Chen Fan carried himself with such a level of levity and assuredness that they were hard pressed to think he was a fraud. Nonetheless, they wagered that if the boy was an impostor, the pills were real and someone else, perhaps a powerful alchemist was behind this young man's confidence and was pulling the strings from a metaphorical backstage.
"Providing you have been truthful, the Li family is willing to pay a one thousand-year-old Ginseng and hire you as our house guest," One-Needle-Li said respectfully with a cupped fist.
"The Medicine God Vally Sect will offer the same, plus unlimited access to our medical library." Jin Yi announced. 
Everyone looked to Chen Fan expectantly. If Chen Fan could make his way into either one of these two powerful families, he could make a name for himself at a very young age.
Chen Fan remained silent. It appeared that he was not sure which offer to accept.
Suddenly, Lu Haixuan let out a burst of laughter. "Brother Chen, if you would accept to become one of the Lu Family's guest employees, we would offer five percent of the shares of the Lu's Group. In addition, we will promise to do you three favors in any matter of your choosing."
The crowd sizzled with excitement after they heard Lu Haixuan's words. 
The Lu family was located in Lin City. They were one of the richest families in the region and controlled countless companies. Their assets were in the tens of billions. Therefore five percent of their shares meant over one billion in wealth.
Plus, the last offer was even more appealing than money. 
The lord of the Lu family was a grandmaster in martial arts. His favor would carry much further than a billion yuan.
One-Needle-Li and Jin Yi wavered after hearing Lu Family's offer. Despite their monopoly in the medicine industry, their power was a far cry from the combined might of the Lu Family. Everyone looked toward Chen Fan and waited expectantly for his decision.
