After the invasion on Earth, AD 2948, many children and adults lost their lives of got injured. A young girl, Hazel, and her friends decided to take revenge for the many lives of Earth and to banish Saturn from returning. The fictional tale includes sci - fi, possibly romance, and a lot of fantasy. How would they take back Earth? Would they get caught? How are they going to survive? There are loads of questions to ask but, most books have a happy ending? Will this one have one too?

In a time when the Divine Prefectures of the East Sea were in great disarray, Emperor Ye Qing and Donghuang the Great appeared to save the day. Under their rule, the prefectures united and all nations as well as  their kings have been controlled. However, the legend of these two great heroes becomes altered when Emperor Ye Qing's name is wiped from the history books after his sudden death. All statues and images of him were destroyed and his name a taboo. Only the legend of Donghuang the Great shall live on.                            

Fifteen years later, a young man by the name of Ye Futian begins his journey in search for his true identity. The legend of Futian was going to be one for the history books.

As Alex discovered right then, the university had at least one other gate besides the central one, and it was right across the outdoor sports complex that included a football pitch, running tracks, bleachers, and several magic ranges.
Alex had never used the latter. As a rule, he, just like all the other prohibited black wizards, tested and practiced his new spells at the city dump.
That made his magic dirty in addition to being dark.
Three yellow buses, looking almost exactly like their counterparts for school children, stood by the road. Not all the groups riding them were as small as just five people—if that had been the case, the freshmen would have been accompanied by at least twenty-five adults.
But there were just three there.
Excluding Doom.
Two middle-aged women and one elderly man.
"Are you—"
"Yeah," Alex interrupted with a brusque wave as he got onto the bus ahead of his group. Greeting the driver by lifting his hat slightly, he glanced over at the young prodigies who instantly fell silent.
The faces were all ones he'd already seen at the first lecture. At least, he seemed to remember them. That blood magic trick had drained so much of his strength that the meditation he'd started to restore it gradually turned into a sound and healthy sleep.
Stepping past the students sitting there, Alex stopped in front of a group of youngsters occupying the wide seat at the back.
"Our apologies, Professor."
"Please, Professor, sit down."
"We'll find somewhere else."
The seven students looked stunned out of the merry hubbub they'd been making a moment before. Sitting down in the corner, Alex put his feet on top of the seat in front of him, opened the window, and pulled out a cigarette.
That brought instant relief.
"Can we go now?" The disgruntled driver, who was dressed very plainly, looked as if he'd just woken up from a quick nap grabbed after a night shift at some factory. In fact, it was quite possible that that was what had happened.
"Just a moment," one of the ladies replied a bit nervously. "We're waiting for one more colleague."
Alex almost choked on his smoke and cast a reproachful glance at the five padawans taking their seats at the opposite end of the back row. They kept pretending, rather realistically, that they hadn't woken him up a long time before they'd actually needed to.
"Excuse me, sir." The old man in a tweed suit was holding a brown leather briefcase with the demeanor of someone long married to his books, his gaze shifting back and forth between Alex and the driver. "Didn't you tell us smoking is prohibited inside the bus?"
"I did," the driver replied with a nod.
"Then why is Professor… er… What's your last name, young man?"
Purple fire flashed around Doom's fingers, but he subdued it.
Old habits die hard.
The scholar couldn't be expected to know the ways of High Garden.
But, hell, old habits die so hard.
"He didn't ask," the driver snickered.
Keeping his seat, Alex lifted his arms into the air and clapped. That time, it was the driver who tipped his hat to him.
"Oh, please forgive me," a thin, melodious voice came from outside. "I beg your pardon, everyone. So much to do… I lost track of time and—"
"We would be amazed, Miss Perriot," the older woman said in a tone more appropriate for reprimanding a subordinate than talking to a colleague, "if you managed to keep even a single appointment. Your group will have to ride this bus. With the new black magic teacher's group."
"Oh, that's fantastic! Thank you so much for your help."
Alex couldn't see the other woman, but her voice was pleasant. Too pleasant, even. Nice and bell-like.
Judging by the clatter of high heels, Miss Perriot, if that was her name, was already climbing onto the bus when she was stopped by the old man. Alex could see dry fingers holding a thin, slightly tanned wrist. Good skin she had. Smooth, apparently young, and well-groomed.
"Miss Perriot, may I ride with you?" The old man was speaking softly, but Alex put his lip-reading skills to good use. "That dark wizard… I don't like him. Dean Lebenstein had some very negative things to say about him."
"Dean Lebenstein has negative things to say about everyone lower than him," the girl replied in a suddenly loud, even abrupt voice. That did it—Alex was sure she was a young girl, and not just someone else born before 2050. "It looks like they're waiting for you in your bus, Professor Camil."
That said, Perriot deftly (which betrayed her skill) released her wrist from his grasp and flew onto the bus, bringing with her the aroma of young spring. Like a breeze coming from a well-kept garden, it scattered the stiff smells of old leather, textile, and rubber that filled the inside of the bus.
"Good afternoon, Miss Perriot!"
"Thanks for your lecture, Miss Perriot!"
"Please sit here."
"Could I ask you for some coaching?"
"You, idiot? Why? You don't need Magic History for your exams."
"As if you need it."
"Miss Perriot!" The pretty blonde suddenly jumped up. What was her name?

The worldwide web. Incredibly useful at times…
That was when Alex actually did choke on his smoke.
Somehow, a girl from the Wessex family was part of his group!
The house whose emblem was a leprecone.
In ancient times, those white whales were lucky enough to become trade mediators between the mortal world and magic races. The fortune they acquired put them on par with the elven families and human mega-corporations.
"Elie, guys, great to see you all." Smiling at everyone, Miss Perriot floated through the air to the back row.
Her hair was the color of a ripe peach, wavy and falling down a bit below her shoulders to her white leather jacket. A light blouse and a wide, ankle-long skirt made up the rest of her outfit. The plain clothes did little to hide her fit body or long, strong legs and curvy, springy hips worthy of the front cover of the magazine Alex habitually used to disguise everything he was reading.

And he read a lot.
A graceful waistline eased into high, firm breasts.
A round face. Dimples on rosy cheeks. A chiseled nose, slightly upturned. Narrow cheekbones. Bushy, but well-groomed and spreading eyebrows.
She could have been anywhere between 18 and 25.
And to Alex's great surprise, her hair wasn't dyed.
The peach color of her hair and eyes was natural.
Hell's bells. She's an esper. An esper working at the very heart of the magic world. Who let her in here? And why?
Of course, that fact lessened in shock value when compared to Alexander Dumsky becoming a professor.

Her eyes met Alex's. Knocking the ashes off, he pulled his feet off the seat back in front of him just to put them on the armrest of the empty seat next to him.
The girl with the princess name sat down and held out a hand.
"Leia Perriot, Magic History and Magic Law. Nice to meet you."
Alex looked down at her outstretched hand before glancing up at her. Smiling broadly, he puffed smoke right into her face.
"Professor Dumsky! What are you doing?"
"Professor!"
"Miss Perriot!"
The bus doors closed. The clamor inside not dying down, it followed the other buses in the direction of the next district over for the traditional museum tour.
Putting on his headphones demonstratively, Doom turned his music up.
He liked the girl.
Too much, in fact.
And that was why he needed her ready to call the cops every time he got close.

Alexander Dumsky, or Alex Doom, was a dark wizard. At the age of seventeen, he was convicted of a litany of crimes so long that even the seasoned investigators, judges, and prosecutors involved in the case could only shudder.
Not a single attorney could be found to defend him in court.
But four years later, Alex was released from prison to become the Professor of Dark Magic. They'd thrown him into the deepest hole they could find, one built for the sole purpose of holding wizards, and then they let him back out again...
Why him? Why then?

"Hey Reon, when will you publish this book? I like it. It'll be another hit if you ask me," a dark haired girl who was reading a book in her phone said to the boy sitting next to her.

The boy, looked at her and raised his left eyebrow, seemingly questioning what book she was talking about.

"Reon, she's reading a part of the Keepers Series. When will you publish the books, Reon? We'll buy the whole set after the release," the nonchalant counterpart of the dark haired girl asked, asking about when their cousin will publish the set.

"Oh. That set. I'm not producing it yet. I'll have another person read it before I announce it to the public," Reon, the boy, answered.

The cheerful girl stopped momentarily after realization. She turned back to Reon in a slow manner.

"Sveta? That goddess of Novaculite Regional School? Hmm, I saw her photos. She's good to be a model. She's told to have a good character too. She's good to be a friend. It's a pity that we haven't met at the Green Conference, or else I would have befriended her," the cheerful one shook her head in disappointment.

"You're too kind to say the word 'good' for a comment. What happened to the group of friends you created yesterday? A change of heart?" Her twin spoke in a nonchalant tone, not even showing any expression even though her words are sharp.

"Velle, you should try to change that attitude of yours when we go to the new school. Although you don't feel much about saying those things, you can hurt others unknowingly. We're not back at the old school where everyone is used to you," Reon reprimanded his insensitive cousin.

Velle just shrugged her shoulders and got Valeir's phone to read a story.

"Don't worry about sis, Reon. I have a friend at her class who can help keep her in check," the cheerful one smiled as she tried to appease her protective cousin.

"Hais, Valeir, we are not always there to understand this psycho. She'll inevitably create an enemy for herself with just her tongue," Reon looked at the nonchalant cousin sitting by his side.

Alexithymia, Velle's personal trait that is characterized by the dysfunction of emotional awareness. Meaning, she usually treats herself like a robit without feelings and she can't appreciate emotions.

The twins, Velle and Valeir, are like two opposite poles. One lacks emotions while the other is full of it. And Reon worries for these cousins of his as much as he worries about his own love life.

"Back to you, Reon. Are you sure about winning the heart of your beloved? Mom said that there are two, no, three other boys clashing against you. And they also have unbelievable backgrounds. Can you fight with that writer 'title' of yours?" If Velle and Valeir's EQ are different, then they are totally similar in their sharp tongue. Valeir smirked as she looked at her cousin who raised his eyebrow once more.

"Is that a challenge, Valeir Lyra Delicere?" Reon asked his challenging cousin. Valeir once again smirked as she nudged Velle and disturbed her reading.

"What is it?" Velle asked without a change of expression.

"What is the percentage of Reon winning against three equally talented boys?" Valeir asked as she let Velle do the solving.

"25%. If Reon has any other advantages except this talent, then he has a higher chance of winning," Velle nonchalantly said as she went back to reading. Reon is now fuming in anger as the insult of his cousins hit a sore spot. He was about to retaliate but the driver butted in.

"Young master, young misses, we are now at the Briller Group Headquarters," the driver of the limousine said as he steered the car towards the underground parking lot.

The security is tight but they managed to enter with just their appearances. Only the executives can use this parking lot.

"Young misses Delicere and young master Rizan, we are happy to accommodate you but the CEO is still in a meeting with your parents. Please do wait in the Entertainment Building," the secretary of the Briller Group CEO said as she invited the three to a wide space where they saw another boy playing a ball by himself.

There are various sports equipments in the area, and there are even gaming consoles and computers in the second floor of the building, a library in the third floor, a music room in the fourth floor, and a mini concert hall in the fifth floor.

"Uggh, why do I always encounter my competitors? My life sucks," the boy playing with the ball said.

"Shut up, Hein. You're still better than me because you got to fight for her. Man, if I'm younger," a man obviously older than Hein peeped from the third floor and said regretfully. He's Hein's older brother, Harvey, studying to be a pilot in college.

"I don't really understand how adults talk. Competitor here, competition that. Do you guys have any other topic?" A small young boy shouted from the second floor, joining the conversation. He's Hein's younger brother, Hiro.

"It's the two-year period now, Hein. It's obvious that you'll see us everyday from now on. So don't be like that," Reon said as he entered the elevator with the twins to move up to the floor where the library is.

They saw Harvey reading a leaflet about another country's tourist attractions.

"The others will come later so don't be surprised by this, Hein. Control your temper," Harvey said, pertaining to Hein who was still dribbling the ball downstairs.

The twins and Reon just found themselves a seat and grabbed a few books to read while waiting for their parents' meeting to finish.

The next ones to arrive is Kenji the musician, and his older brother Kurt, a medicine student with the same age as Harvey. They directly went to the fourth floor where the musical instruments are located after Kenji teased Hein about something. Probably about Veta once more.

And the last to arrive is Javier. He looked lonely as he's the only heir of the family, without any cousins or siblings. He went straight to the second floor to accompany Hiro.

"Where's Rowan, brother Reon? I thought that he's coming with you," everyone looked at the door of the library as Hiro's small body peeked to ask Reon about his brother.

Although their older brothers are competitors for love, Hiro and Rowan became bestfriends, being of almost the same age and hobby.

"He's sick right now, Hiro. He can't come," Valeir answered to the boy. The boy looked dejected.

"Well, please tell him that I'll come visit and bring some fruits for him, sister Valeir. I'll be going back to my game now," he said and left the third floor.

When the school's known goddess Sveta Lucy Briller is nearing her coming of age, four different boys approached her with a single thought in their minds: I must win her!

The first one is Javier Emilio Cortez, the heredero of Tri Veisti Hacienda. He's a transferee of Veta's school and accidentally bumped into her while passing his transfer papers.

The second one is Reon Kei Rizan, a writer and the author of Veta's favorite book - Blood Ancestor. They met during a journalism workshop Veta joined.

The third one is Hein Pretium, a well-known basketball player of Veta's school. It was rumored that he has someone he likes, and this someone turns out to be Veta. He never started his move until the other three started their own.

And the last one is Kenji Owen Kier, the second son of a famous musician and inherited his mother's love for music. He was invited to perform at Veta's school during an event.

With these four boys hanging around Veta, the innocent's life will gradually change. Because the innocent finally got to know her lovers.

While Lucid was immersed in his thoughts, Dong-in was struggling to keep his emotions in check and regain his cool. No matter how hard he thought about it, he kept coming to the conclusion that he had gone too far. There had been no need to blow things out of proportion like that. He could have taken care of things quietly, and he had ruined everything by losing his temper.

"Fucking bitch." He murmured to himself, cursing without thought. He paced around the room like a windup doll, wondering how he should take care of the little kid.

"Dong-in, are you there?" A voice rang out from outside the door, and Dong-in trembled in fear, like a criminal caught on the scene.

"W-Who is it?"
"It's me, Ki-Woong. Can I come in?"

Dong-in considered his options. He didn't really want to see anyone, let alone talk, but he knew that alienating Ki-woong wouldn't do him any good. So, he opened the door. Ki-woong was standing there, hands in his pockets, looking at Dong-in with mixed emotions.

Ki-woong was a freshman in high school. Standing at over 180 centimeters tall, he was well-built and had a knack for athletics, so much so that if his high school had had a sports club, they would have tripped over their feet trying to recruit him. Still, it so happened that Ki-woong's high school was a liberal arts school and didn't provide a sports club. They had a basketball and soccer teams, but they were only there as a sort of recreational activity rather than actual, competing teams. But even if the school did have a sports club, it was highly unlikely that Ki-woong would have joined. Ki-woong simply didn't have the time to invest in a sports club, and more importantly, he knew that in order to fulfill his goal of obtaining a stable job and becoming independent, he had to focus on his studies. And focus he did, as he always achieved high scores and grades and was among the highest ranked in his whole school.

Dong-in and Ki-woong had known each other from back when Dong-in was in elementary school, which was almost five years ago. At this point, Ki-woong was like an older brother to him, a real older brother, smart and kind and caring. He often helped Dong-in with his homework, and sometimes gave him advice when he had issues. They also frequently went out of the institute together. Ki-woong was perhaps the only person Dong-in felt was truly "on his side."

"Dong-in," Ki-woong began. His voice was as kind and gentle as ever, and as soon as he heard it, Dong-in choked back tears. "Did something happen?"

Ki-woong didn't ask why Dong-in had done what he'd done. He didn't reprimand him for doing wrong, and he didn't ask for explanations. He simply asked why Dong-in was acting differently.

Someone who worried for him. That's the kind of person Ki-woong was. He was compassionate, and thoughtful, and cautious.

Still, Dong-in couldn't open up to him.

"I know you're not the type of person to use violence willy-nilly. I'm sure there's something more going on, something I don't know, for you to be acting like this. I know you're more mature than this. If there's anything I can do, I want to help. We're not related, but you'll always be my younger brother."

I'm sorry, Dong-in thought. I'm sorry. Yet, the words didn't leave his mouth. He couldn't look at Ki-woong. He feared he would burst into tears if he did. He feared that Ki-woong would see him for who he really was: a repulsive coward.

Ki-woong looked at Dong-in, standing still, head hung low, and sighed as he pat his shoulder.

"I guess I rushed too much. We'll talk again once you calm down a bit, alright? You know I'm on your side."

He was so kind, and Dong-in had yelled at him, cursed at him. Stupid Dong-in. Bad Dong-in. He knew he would be spending a long time reprimanding himself.

Ki-woong turned around and left, closing the door behind him. As he made for the stairs, he ran across a boy in the hallway. It was the same boy that Dong-in had hit earlier. Ki-woong only knew of him from the many rumors surrounding him. He was much too young for the high schooler to have had any proper interactions with, but Ki-woong had heard that he was uncharacteristically clever and well-natured for his age. Frankly speaking, he had heard the most about his "ridiculously good looks" and his "face that would put models to shame," but neither of those things had been particularly interesting for Ki-woong.

"What brings you here? Do you want to see Dong-in?" asked Ki-woong.
"Yes." Lucid answered. There was no fluctuation in his voice, no emotion. His answer was short, level, almost cold and indifferent. Were all elementary schoolers like this, nowadays?
"Well, that's his room over there, but... Well. Why do you want to see him?"

No answer came, no matter how long Ki-woong waited. Dd he perhaps want to apologize? Or perhaps he was here for round two. Wait, Ki-woong thought. Wouldn't it be a bad idea for the two to meet, then?
"Do you mind if we had a little chat first? Just the two of us."

Lucid hesitated for a moment. After deciding that a small detour wouldn't impact his plan in any significant way, he nodded. The two headed for Ki-woong's room, and Lucid's mood improved as soon as he stepped in. The room was clean, considering it was a high school boy's room, and more importantly, there were many, many books. Books on the shelves and on the bedframe. When he saw Lucid show interest in his books, Ki-woong smiled.

"Do you like books?"
"Yes." The answer came quickly, almost instinctively.
"I guess you do well in your studies, then. But all the books here are mine, so they might be a bit hard for you."
"I like all books. Even if I don't understand their content right away, as long as I keep reading, I can still learn from them, and then I'll come to understand more and more."

He sounded more like Ki-woong's peer than a first grader.

"Oh, well. Alright. You can borrow them later, if you want. As long as it's not something I need right away, I can lend them to you."
"Thank you," said Lucid, bowing his head.
"But before that, could we talk? Here, take a seat."

Ki-woong motioned to the empty bed, patting it lightly. Not a single speck of dust rose up. Lucid took his seat at the edge of the pristine bed and looked up at the older boy.

"Thinking of it, I still don't know your name. What is it?"

Lucid answered without hesitation.

"That's a good name. But people still call you "plaster face", huh?"

Was he expecting an answer? Before Lucid could decide what to do, Ki-woong continued speaking.

"Let me apologize on Dong-in's behalf for what happened earlier. We should be looking after you younger ones, since we're older, and no matter the reason, violence is bad."
"... Is it?" asked Lucid.

What sort of question was that? Ki-woong was taken aback by the unexpected reaction, and he felt the conversation take a different turn.

"Of course. Who is your closest friend?"
"Myeong-su."

The answer was almost automatic, coming out of his mouth without his brain even processing the question. Lucid felt his expression relax. Indeed, Myeong-su was his closest friend, who brought a smile to his face just by thinking about him.

"Myeong-su? Is he a classmate?"
"No, he's my roommate here."
"Oh, okay. Well then, let's give you an example. Say that one day, Myeong-su broke something you really value, and let's say that you got really, really angry. If you happened to hit him out of anger, would you feel good about it"
"No."

The first conditional aside, Lucid couldn't even imagine hitting Myeong-su. And if he ever saw someone else hit him, then he would "punish" them on the spot.

"Exactly. Hitting your friend can't possibly feel good. And Myeong-su wouldn't feel good about being hit, either. So if that happened, then the two of you couldn't go back to being friends, right?"

It was a difficult thing, to explain the ethics and morals of violence to a first grader. Ki-woong himself was wholly unqualified, being only a freshman in high school himself. If this had been about grammar or math, he would have nailed it. Ki-woong felt the sweat beading on his nose.

"It's the same thing with the rest of the world." He continued. "People will sometimes get into disagreements with others, and have problems. Do you think you could live with someone who uses violence to solve those problems every time? Wouldn't it be hard to be with them, let alone be friends? You wouldn't know when that violence might be used against you. That would lead to mistrust and suspicion, right? That's why violence is bad. It leaves a mark on the body, sure, but it also hurts people inside. That's why in this world, where we have to coexist with others, violence is bad and should never be used lightly. That's why I yelled at Dong-in earlier, and why I'm apologizing on his behalf."

Ki-woong felt his shirt stick to his back from the sweat, but rather than feel accomplished at having explained the concept of violence, he was left feeling uncertain. Had he really explained it enough?

"Why are you apologizing?"
"Because it's my duty as an older brother to take responsibility for my younger brothers' faults. I should be making sure that you all grow up to be good people, and I've failed to do that. It's the same thing for you, you know. If you were to do something bad, whether in or out of this institute, I would rush over and apologize. Because you're my younger brother, too. Right?"

Lucid now had an older brother.

"Well then, why did you want to meet Dong-in?" asked Lucid's new "brother."

Lucid felt that he shouldn't answer with the full truth and chose to remain quiet, which caused Ki-woong to realize that he hadn't gone to apologize.

"Will you tell me what happened earlier?" Ki-woong asked again, leaning slightly to meet the boy's eye level. Lucid simply gave the same answer he had given to the teacher.

"Hmm. I can't really tell what started it from what you just told me. Can you think of anything?"
"No. I don't really know. That's why... That's why I wanted to talk to him. To ask him why."
"Oh, so that's why you came to meet him?"

Lucid forced himself to nod. He wasn't quite lying. That truly had been his intention, at least until he had changed his mind.

"You really are smart, and nice, too. I almost got the wrong idea about you. As I told you ealier, it's not easy, even for adults, to settle things through conversation. Same goes for me, too."

Ki-woong smiled and ruffled Lucid's hair. The boy, however, was already deep in thought.

"A society where we coexist," he thought, "settling things through conversation... Violence might be used against me."

If Lucid "eliminated" Dong-in as a way to get rid of the cause of it all, then logically speakig, that meant that he would have to go on eliminating "everyone" who might pose a threat to him. But how could he possible eliminate them all, and how could he prove that they could become "causes"?

Most importantly, he would have to continue living in this "society," and he felt that maybe, there were rules in this society against this type of "removal." Perhaps, even "that" world, the world that he had determined to be violent and barbaric... had rules against it.

This was something he had to keep thinking about. His own rules, the rules of this world, and the rules of that world. He would have to consider whether they were right or wrong, and he would have to consider this for a long time.

This was the day when Lucid was hit for the first time in his life, and the day when he first began to contemplate his views of the world and of society. It was also the day when, though he hadn't gone through with it, Lucid first considered using his magic to hurt someone.

Members in the visiting group were envious of the hardware equipment in the AP Training Center. However, everyone knew that a provincial training team couldn't afford them and even if they could, they couldn't afford the maintenance costs.
Just like cars, the more expensive it was, the higher the maintenance costs would be. If you bought a luxury car, you would only use the highest octane gasoline to fill its tank.
The guide introduced all the advanced equipment to the group with pride, like a guy who was showing off his fortune. Then everyone was brought to the reception room where they saw David Mills, the head of the AP Training Center.
"You've just seen our training equipment, and I know that you must be eager to see the real training activities here. But I am afraid that you can't see it." David Mills smiled and continued, "You must know that many famous athletes come here and do their training, which they hope can be secretive. Besides, it involves privacy. So, most of training is done in private."
Hearing this, all of them were disappointed.
In America, people cared about their privacy more than people in China. Even if they weren't famous athletes, they didn't like the interruption from visitors.
David Mills said, "Please cheer up! The latest Adidas Basketball Camp will be undertaken by our Training Center. The camp gathers excellent high school students, and it is open to anyone, including coaches in universities, scouts in professional basketball teams, reporters, and you."
There were a number of similar camps in America. Some coaches, even athletes may host their own camps. There was no doubt that Adidas Basketball Training Camp was the one that everyone wanted to join in. Of course, those athletes who could join in this camp were top players from all the schools in America. Therefore, it could attract attention from the media, coaches in universities, and NBA scouts who were eager to find future stars.
Those young athletes joining in the camp can no only improve their skills, but also attract attention. They were happy to have more people observe them.
It was the first day in Adidas Basketball Training Camp. Dai Li saw that black woman on the training ground again who followed tightly the head coach of the Adidas Basketball Camp, Hyde, an old man around 50 years old.
"Mr. Hyde, please give Allen another chance, please!" The black woman begged.
"Mrs. Hampton, I've explained to you several times. We sent out an invitation to your son Allen Hampton before, but he didn't reply to us that he would come to our camp."
"He didn't have his parole then." the woman said.
Mr. Hyde threw up his hand sand said, "Mrs. Hampton, I hope you can understand. Since we've made rules, we must observe them, right? If everyone who came here and asked for privileges got them, our camp could no longer do what we do."
Eventually, the woman left, disappointed.
Sitting in the stand and watching the athletes, Dai Li screamed in his heart, Are these really high school students?
Besides Dai Li, the other coaches in the visiting group showed their surprise.
"Those high school students bear comparison with our professional athletes of the provincial team, right?"
"In my view, they can play in our national lower-level leagues."
"Far more than that! See that guard! What a wonderful breakthrough, and he dunked directly! This guy can play in CBA."
Yet, the American audience looked more at ease. Obviously, they were accustomed to it.
A reporter beside Dai Li, of about the same age as him, kindly introduced the players for Dai Li.
"See the young lad who dunked just now? He is from New York. His nickname is Son of New York. When he was just an elementary student, he could compete with adults in basketball game already. Among high school students this year, he may be listed within the top 3. And he may be the MVP in this Adidas Training Camp."
"Pupils compete with adults!" Dai Li was shocked. He observed this young lad immediately and found he had A-level talent.
"A-level talent is good enough. He is a strong basketball player in America. I don't know the talent of our national professional athletes."
The young reporter continued his introduction, "that lad who did a three-point shot is a leading scorer in Mountain Top High School in southern California, and he helped his school become state champions this year. Although he is only 19 years old, he is a father. So, he is trying to find a school which could provide him with a basketball scholarship."
Dai Li began his observation again.
"He has A plus talent, and he is good at shooting three-pointers. It seems like this athlete will be an excellent shooter."
The reporter pointed to a big guy under the basketball frame. "He is six-feet, nine-inches, and he might grow to around seven feet. He is thin, yet he has a long wingspan. His ball handling skills are just so-so. But he is good at grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. Just some more weight will make him a wonderful defensive center!"
"This big guy has A-minus-level talent who can be counted as a superior basketball athlete in America, not so good as I've imagined. I thought their talent would be higher in America as the country is a top basketball power. Maybe that is the gap caused by training."
Dai Li took a deep breath and thought again, If we could grow up in America where sports are everywhere around us, maybe our achievements in sports wouldn't be defeated by the Americans.
Again, the reporter said, "Those guys I mentioned just now can definitely enter the NBA, even the lottery. But there is one guy who didn't come this time. What a pity."
"Who? Is there anyone who is willing to ignore such a good chance like this?" Dai Li asked with his poor English.
But the reporter knew what Dai Li meant. He said, "Maybe due to injury or something. That guy is Allen Hampton from Holy Land High School. He is not only an excellent basketball player, but also a great football player. He helped his school get the state championships in both football and basketball. In the last season, he averaged 31.6 points, 9.2 assists, and 8.7 rebounds per game. He is a real genius!"
By football, the American reporter meant American football, not soccer.
The reporter continued, "But the genius is a bad boy. It was said that he was sentenced to jail for carrying drugs when he was 15. Then he broke his parole regulations, which resulted in a longer prison term. After a while, leading a group of people to cause trouble got him another prison sentence. His lawsuits succeeded owing to help from The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The coaches of famous universities don't like this bad boy, I guess."


How could a poor graduate student without any background or connections become successful? With a coaching system? An upgrade? This is not a computer game, but real life we’re talking about!

At the small entrance of a small orphanage a young woman could be seen holding a child in her arms. It was cold that night as it was late November. The young woman carefully stroke the child's head before knocking on the door and waiting, all the while crying silent tears and holding the child close to her chest.

A short but agonising amount of time later an older lady opened the door. As if she expected to see no-one but a child left abandoned she jumped a little, recovering quickly the older woman invited the woman and child inside. As they walked inside the older lady said "I am the caretaker of this orphanage, if you wouldn't mind telling, why are you here?"

The younger woman was clearly better off than most mothers who gave up their children, but still she was there. The young woman's voice cracked as she said "I am hunted by evil people, please take my child and teach him well."

The old caretaker nodded and said "How long do you have before they find you?"

The young woman cried for a short time before saying "Only an hour at best, probably half of that."

The old caretaker held out her arms and said "Though I might have been educated I am by no means caught up with current knowledge. Send books if you can but I will teach him to the best of my abilities."

The young mother cried harder for a moment still not wishing to give up her child. Slowly she handed the old caretaker the child and said "I will, I will send you books and money when I can, keep him safe."

Before the old caretaker could respond the woman ran out the door and into the cold November night air. As the door closed the caretaker could swear she saw the woman suddenly. accelerate to an impossible degree and disappear from sight.

The old caretaker sighed and thought 'My imagination is wild.' before her thoughts could go farther a soft crying could be heard as the child awoke. Quickly walking further into the orphanage the old caretaker grabbed a bottle of milk and sat by the fireplace. For a short time she simply cared for the child not bothering to think of the days happenings any further.

As the years passed a young boy grew. His rate of learning was impressive to say the least and the days passed in silence as he read books that he was told where from his mother. He never truly believed they where from his mother but any time he had voiced this he had been told off.

Other than his impressive learning abilities his body was weirdly strong compared to the other children and never got sick not to mention his affinity for sports. This boys name was Daniel and he was an orphan of the Great European Orphanage. An orphanage for all nationalities and as of recent years a heaven for orphans.

A young mortal found a hint into a secret world, follow him on his journey into the land of cultivators as a seemingly normal mortal.

Danny looked at the names and the teams submitted by the students before the break. It was quite an interesting combination with the special class opting to split from their usual combination to even out the playing field. On the other hand, the misfits were also doing well with their strategy of gathering those quick with their minds and those good with their minds after Jasper's declaration of the prizes and penalty.
More amusingly, the children had come up with names for their teams that reflected their personality. Danny couldn't think of a better match for these names and snapped a photo of it before forwarding it to the principal. Philip would love the gossips and behind the scenes of this interesting class-bonding activity. It was the main reason why Danny was sent to supervise them.
#1: Team Scarlet

Tutors: Lin Lin & Nathan
Members: Jinru, Tom, Jin Si-Han & Samuel
Danny was a little surprised as to why Samuel was in the group. He was aware that the rest of the members idolised the young writer to varying extents but why did that mysophobic german choose that team?
Some things simply couldn't be explained.
#2: Team All or Nothing
Leader: Jasper
Tutors: Elfie & Ria
Members: Mustafa, Khalid, Jeff & Jeremy
Danny took a look at the submitted names for the second group and felt like it was no surprise. Jasper's strong leadership and Elfie's expert support would make a good team. It was a rather well-balanced team and Danny's only concern was for Ria who was the only girl present. Would the dancer be able to cope without her sister interacting with a group of boys?
#3: Team Dreamer
Leader: Jean
Tutors: Alex & Farid
Members: Reggie, Rowan, Benedict & Issac
The third team was something that made Danny burst out in laughter. Their team name couldn't be truer. In fact, as Danny ran through the names on this list, he didn't know if he should be worrying how Issac was the only one who didn't count as a dreamer.
He knew how Farid and Jean quarrelled earlier about the position of the leader and Alex was pressured into voting for one of them to be the leader. Eventually, it was decided that the two squabbling students would play a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide. Farid sulked the entire afternoon when Jean won all three games. The counsellor couldn't help but worry about the dynamics of this team.
#4: Team Action First
Leader: Rebecca
Tutors: Camilia & Jun Le
Members: Dragon, Roy, Teddy & Vivian
True to the team's name, Danny felt a headache thinking about Rebecca's strange request to go to the indoor sports hall for their team's lessons. With the exception of jun Le and Vivian, the rest of them were rather athletic and sporty. Danny really didn't want to judge but the term 'muscle heads' came to mind immediately when he heard the request.
Still, he couldn't deny that Dragon learnt best when he was given the chance to move about while learning.
Now that they had their teams, Danny asked each team leader to submit a crash course training program covering all three major modules after the 2-hour compulsory lessons every morning until the date of examination. The teams were discussing it over the break and Danny was excited to know what these kids would come up with.
For the sake of the slower students, Danny had to revise his lesson plans and put into consideration that the students of the special class had different examination papers from the delinquents. Not all of them took the standard papers for their respective ages. Lin Lin, for example, was too young to be skipping years so she was still taking examinations for eight-year-olds. On the other hand, there were academically advanced students like Scarlet, Jasper and Alex who skipped a year and were taking examinations for eleven-year-olds. Nathan was exempted from sitting for Math and Physics examinations etc etc.
"They would need at least three one-to-one study sessions with me during the next two weeks," Danny murmured and drew out a timetable. He couldn't host a general class for the special students and there simply wasn't enough time after school to complete all the individual lessons.
There was only one way to do this and Danny didn't know if it was a good idea to host private tutoring sessions while they tutored the EC class. Danny decided to take the gamble either way. For now, it was the most effective method and anything conventional can be ignored while his students competed against each other.
Lesson plans aside, Danny was secretly thrilled when his son proposed creating a secure chat room for the EC class and the special class. It didn't take long before Elfie became attached to the other kids and it was something Danny was very thankful for. Without the influence of Wilmer's children, Danny didn't know how to give Elfie a somewhat normal childhood memory of school. Thanks to their influence, he was now able to see EWlfie act like his age, sparkling with excitement and running around enthusiastically doing silly things with his new friends.
The friendly rivalry between teams as they passed teasing remarks and poked fun at one another made Danny smile. So far, the mood was good and nobody has started making any toxic remarks or started any form of drama that Danny always saw in the other classes. Rich snobby kids with too much time on their hands tended to do that. Putting other children down seemed to be some kind of mean sport that every rich snobby child participated in. Of course, the school didn't condone such acts but with powerful parents backing such uneducated behaviour, even Philip's hands were tied.
Strange as it may sound, Danny didn't think that the students in the special class and EC class were too different. In fact, they shared more similarities than other people might think. All these were only possible because Jasper decided to take that first step into meddling with the EC class as part of his grand plan.
In times like this, Danny wondered if fate had a heart. Danny tried for years to encourage the misfits but they'd completely shut him out of their world. All it took was for Jasper to make a ridiculous bet to break down that wall they built. the rest was easy after that as Scarlet built a bridge and the special class crossing it to meet the EC class halfway.
Maybe there was nobody else who could understand the pain the EC class felt until the special class came along. Both classes understood what it meant to be different, to not have a place to belong, to crave normalcy and embrace their true selves. Danny envied how easily the children accepted each other's quirks and personality. The teams started out as strangers but now, they were bonding over food, songs, games and even books during their break.
As a counsellor, nothing was more touching than seeing faith in humanity restored. If children could accomplish things that adults couldn't, it would be totally humiliating for adults to not be able to clean up the mess they made. Both he and Wilmer had to buck up if they didn't want to lose to their children.
The feud with Anastasia must be ended by them.

Right after Gun-Ho got off the phone with Jae-Sik Moon, he received another call from President Jeong-Sook Shin.
"Sir, this is Jeong-Sook Shin. I've heard that President Min-Hyeok Kim is having a wedding in Korea soon."
"That's right. What about it?"
"So, his father-in-law and mother-in-law will come to Korea to attend the wedding, right?"
"Of course. Why don't you come to the wedding too?"
"Absolutely. I will be there. I just want to talk to his father-in-law who is a painter."
"Mr. Ding Feng? Why do you want to see him?"
"I am thinking of having his solo art exhibition in Korea. I am talking about the art exhibition of the master of northern school literati paintings—Mr. Ding Feng with GH Media's name."
"His solo art exhibition? That could make money?"
"I believe so, and that's why I am suggesting this to you, sir. Mr. Ding Feng's paintings are so great that people will like them a lot. You paid 550,000 won for his painting yourself too. After getting off the phone with President Shin, Gun-Ho grumbled about President Shin's art exhibition idea.
"I doubt it will be lucrative at all. She is trying to do all those work for small money. Say, we bring his paintings, about 30 of them, and we sell each for 1,500,000 won. Assuming we could sell all of the 30 paintings, we would make only 45 million won. We will have to give half of the sales revenue to the painter, and we are bearing the rent for the exhibition venue and marketing cost. We won't be left with much in the end. Hmm. It's a waste of our labor and time. Let me think about how I can turn this into a lucrative business… Maybe I can make some connection with Seukang Li."
 
Gun-Ho made a phone call to Min-Hyeok Kim first.
"Hey, President Shin of GH Media wants to meet with your father-in-law after your wedding."

"She wants to have Mr. Ding Feng's art exhibition in Korea with his oriental paintings."
"Really? I will talk to my father-in-law."
"Can we tell him that Seukang Li recommended this to us?"
"Well, why not? By the way, the international book exhibition in Shanghai is a success. I read a newspaper article about it and it says that so many young people came to the book exhibition to get the pamphlet for the performance to be held at the sports complex."
"Really? That's good to know."
"Young people are so crazy about the Korean top star—Seol-Bing—and Chinese top star—Ye Long. They both will do the performance there. The news about the performance is everywhere on the Internet."
"If it's a sports complex, it can accommodate a vast number of people, right?"

GH Media's president—Ms. Jeong-Sook Shin stated that she was certain that the Chinese history books will be very popular in Korea because of the close historical relationship between the two countries: China and Korea. GH Media purchased three Chinese history books."
"Haha. As far as I know, President Shin didn't even talk to any journalist while we were in Shanghai. I can't believe they just made up things like that and put it in the newspaper."
"Do you want me to go on reading it further?"
"Nah. That's enough."
"Well, then, I will talk to my father-in-law about his art exhibition and will let you know."
 
Gun-Ho then made a call to Seukang Li.
"Hey, I heard so many people came to the book exhibition."
"That's right. I was so worried that we wouldn't have enough traffic there. But you can say it was a success. I do appreciate you, President Goo. Distributing the performance pamphlet at the book exhibition was an excellent idea."
 
"You're very welcome, friend. It's actually a return of your hard work."
"So many young people came. I didn't know Korean celebrities are so popular among Chinese youths. It helped our sales too. Chinese cartoon books and romance books were sold substantially."
"Those books' publishing companies must be very happy."
"Of course."
"Oh, you know what? After visiting the book exhibition, we went to see Mr. Ding Feng's art exhibition that was being held around the same area. He was having an art exhibition with his oriental paintings."
"Oh, he did? I do like his paintings. My father knows him personally. I believe I have his painting at home. Oh, isn't he President Min-Hyeok's father-in-law?"
"That's right. You must have seen him at Min-Hyeok's wedding. By the way, President Shin of GH Media really likes his paintings, and she wants to have his solo art exhibition in Korea."
"Really?"
"We could get connected with the painter this way because of you, Seukang Li. If it wasn't for your book exhibition, I wouldn't have visited his art exhibition."

"If his art exhibition is successful, I want to try an art exhibition of Chinese young painters with their modern paintings."

"And also, if Mr. Ding Feng's art exhibition is confirmed to be held in Korea, please let me know. I will inform the press here that the famous Korean publishing company which participated in our international book exhibition will hold a solo art exhibition in Korea with the Chinese painter—Mr. Ding Feng. And also saying that they discovered Mr. Ding Feng's fascinating paintings when they visited his exhibition in Shanghai after visiting our book exhibition."
"Sounds good. I will let you know."
 
After getting off the phone with Seukang Li, Gun-Ho was thinking,
'If we do an art exhibition with Chinese young painters' modern paintings, that can turn into a lucrative business in Korea. Is President Jeong-Sook Shin aiming it? Because she knows that I have a personal and close relationship with Director Li of the bureau of cultural affairs and arts in Shanghai. If so, she is a very smart businesswoman. Oh, that's right. I was told that she worked as a curator in an art museum when she was in her 30s."

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

Director Zhao Jun of the hepatobiliary department was the type who would almost never personally participate in ordinary minor surgeries. As for major surgeries, he had no reason to ask a lowly resident doctor if he knew how to do them. Thus, Zhang Fan was incredibly bored from being teamed up with the director. All that Zhang Fan ever got to do was hold the surgical retractors. Several of the medical specialist doctors would vigorously fight over getting to do the surgical sutures, so Zhang Fan didn't join in. There were some medical specialist doctors who had previously been forced into the internal medicine department. Under Ouyang Hong's new policy of rotating departments for new doctors, they now saw more hope for their future, so these new doctors were all highly motivated.
It also so happened that there were very few emergency department patients that required hepatobiliary surgery, so staying in the emergency department wouldn't help Zhang Fan get the chance to perform more surgeries. He had nothing to do every day. Everyone else in the hepatobiliary department was very busy, but Zhang Fan was the only one with nothing to do. He couldn't even go help patients change the medicine, because the medical specialist doctors here were quite hardworking. They would finish their work as quickly as possible since they were afraid of losing this opportunity.
Every day, Zhang Fan either studied his medical textbooks or performed outpatient services. He would go massage Li Xiao after his work shift, and then he would literally have nothing to do. Zhang Fan was really regretting not having purchased airplane tickets to go back and visit his family for New Year's. By now, there were no longer any tickets available even if he wanted to buy some.
Today, right when Zhang Fan finished outpatient services, he received a phone call from the boxing teacher Wu Yanchao. "Doctor Zhang, do you still remember me? I'm Guli's teacher, Wu Yanchao. Are you able to come to our school when you have some free time?"
This was perfect—Zhang Fan was incredibly bored. Only now did he remember that he had agreed to go visit the sports school on occasion, but he hadn't gone even once yet. He hurriedly responded, "Hello, Teacher Wu. Of course I remember you. I was in Kuake City for the past month for the government program supporting rural hospitals, and just came back a few days ago. I happen to be free this afternoon, would it be alright if I come today?"
"That sounds great. I'll wait for you at the school entrance, then. Approximately at what time will you be coming over today?"
Zhang Fan said a time, and then hastily went over to the hospital cafeteria to eat some lunch.
This afternoon, Director Zhao Jun was working at another hospital as a guest doctor, so he wouldn't be in the hepatobiliary department. Thus, Zhang Fan directly drove his car to the sports school.
This Chasu City sports school wasn't that large. In China, going through the education system and getting into a good college was considered the proper way of doing things. Practicing sports, especially for the sake of becoming a professional athlete in the future, was rarely supported by Chinese parents. They considered sports too cruel on the body, with too many uncertainties.
Wu Yanchao showed Zhang Fan where he could park his car. As they walked towards the training room, Wu Yanchao introduced some aspects of the sports school. "The children here are mostly 11 or 12 years old. The oldest ones here are only 15 years old at most. Those who are talented and have accomplishments will be chosen to go to the provincial sports school by the time that they're older. Those who can't make any accomplishments will also start thinking of other future paths aside from sports."
This sports school had several different sports options to learn that students could choose from. The sports were all sports that could be practiced here. For instance, swimming wasn't an available option here, because swimming pools were too expensive for the school to afford. Wu Yanchao had some boxing students, and he also taught basketball as well as football. Since the sports school didn't have very many teachers, all of the teachers taught multiple different sports.
Guli was still resting at home. She still hadn't recovered 100% yet, so she was unable to join the training. Zhang Fan watched the children train. To be honest, he felt that it was very difficult. Those children had to be quite persistent, being able to go through all this.
"Hey everyone, come over here. Let me introduce Doctor Zhang from Chasu City Hospital to all of you. He's an orthopedic surgeon who performed the surgery for Guli. Doctor Zhang will be visiting us regularly in the future. Now, let us all give him a warm welcome." Wu Yanchao gathered all the students and introduced Zhang Fan.
"Hello." Zhang Fan had no idea what he should say to all these children, so he greeted them very simply.
The children were quite passionate, and almost simultaneously shouted, "Nice to meet you, Doctor Zhang!" Those who practiced sports almost always had extroverted personalities. Perhaps this was a benefit of strengthening the body. Have you ever heard of an athlete who had depression~?
