I am not sure if i will share the other books or not it all depends on how well this book does.

But honestly this is one of the best book series that i have ever read and i hope that you guys enjoy it.

But honestly this is one of the best book series that i have ever read and i hope that you guys enjoy it.

Mastery levels of the various movement tecniques and the requirements for each level were defined in the book, in most cases initial understanding was achieved when all the moves had been learned. Proficency, the second level, required flawless integration in real time depending on the situation, advanced necessitated the user to internalize the moves thanks to countless repetitions, removing the need to think about what to do and greatly improving execution speed, at the mastery stage the moves themselves lost meaning and formed a complete whole adaptation pattern, in particular all kinds of variations not described in the book but useful in a given situation would naturally be executed by the user. 

Huang Mu still had a nebulous understanding of the fifth level, but from what he gleaned that was the ability to create new movements based on the user's understanding, something he was far from able to achieve.

Huang Mu was however reasonably confident that he had achieved the third level, advanced, in all facets and in the ones he practiced the most, like dodging and creating quick bursts of speed he had likely touched the boundary of the mastery level.

His ability to "cowardly slink away" as the rest of the kids called it, had earned him a few nicknames along the way, but to Huang Mu they were more like badges of pride, it showed that the rest of the pack had to resort to verbal bullying now that physical violence proved too difficult to achieve.

Another path where he made great strides early on was body forging. Luckily the valley transfers happened in the spring and the temperatures were reasonably high even after dusk. Huang Mu learned during his first week that bunking with the rest of the kids was a quick road to suicide, especially after the episode where he got badly beaten, as he later learned probably on behalf of elder Pin, and his lucky recovery thanks to the mercy of the passing elder, he decided to take matters in his own hands and try sleeping outside. 

The white body forging foundation tecnique was comprised of a set of exercises to strenghten the user's muscles, skin, bones, tendons and finally internal organs. 

Muscle strenghtening emphasised on one hand muscle flexibility through a series of stretches mimicking beasts, namely the elephant bend over, the crocodile plank, the bear walk, the tiger pose and the hippo tuck, to be perfomed before and after exercising and on the other a series of strenghtening compound movements like pull-ups, push-ups, dips, squats and deadlifts. 

Huang Mu discovered a crooked, holed giant trunk close to the food storage and the start of the woods at one end of the valley and made it his home. It was hard however for him at first to sleep alone and close to the possible danger coming from the occasional roaming beast, he installed a very basic noise alarm system at the entrance of the trunk which would hopefully wake him up in case of an invasion and used the full muscle strenghtening routine to completely exhaust himself every night in order to forget about the situation and sleep.

Why indeed? Being transferred to this small office was some sort of a demotion for a top editor like Tohru James. His presence there was some kind of an odd happenstance that Yanee wanted to get to the bottom of.
However, her initial impression of the man won, and Yanee decided it was better to steer clear out of his way as much as possible. She would just do her best at what was asked of her and stay away the rest of the time.
She reckoned she was lucky she'd have a very capable superior, thus she wouldn't be needed much at work. Her previous interview with the man gave her a chance to talk to his assistant at Niji International and learned that Tohru James mostly kept to himself and didn't really need help. In short, being his assistance was a piece of cake. But of course she still needed to work on projects like a normal editor, and there would be times she needed to work with him since she's his assistant.
Or so she thought.
By afternoon, Yanee had already memorized her new boss's schedule. She had also taken the initiative to learn some of his tasks ahead of time as she was told it was her boss who would be showing those to her. She studied them anyway as there was nothing else she was busy with after learning his schedule.
"Here we go…"
She puffed her chest as she gathered her bearings in front of the man's door after lunch. He had told her earlier to look for him after she had her briefing with Chummy, Her friend said that her boss had been waiting for her to return from her vacation since he had a big project he wanted to work on, and so now she's here.

Yanee knocked nervously against the door, and the man's baritone called out from the inside to beckon her in.
"Sir?" she called out, and the handsome man paused from his work to look at her direction and signaled for her to come and sit on one of the chairs in front of his desk.
There was a huge pile of documents on his table that made Yanee wonder what was going on. After all, there was nothing about them mentioned in her briefing. Since she was his new assistant, she was supposed to know everything he was working on.
Then again, she remembered that this guy wanted her to learn the ropes of the department first before giving her a task. This might be what Chummy had told her earlier so she was not asked to memorize other things aside from his schedule.
"Sit there," he said as he removed the glasses he had on and placed them on the table.
He normally didn't wear spectacles, and Yanee had to admit he looked really good even with the pair of glasses on. It didn't make him appear nerdy. Instead, he looked very much like those handsome intellectuals Yanee was totally a fan of.
Urgh…
Despite saying she didn't dare have a crush on her boss, Yanee still wished he'd stop being this handsome. Even without romantic inclinations, looking at him made her heart race and she had to forcefully remind herself of how much he gave her a hard time the last they talked to calm herself down.
That bad experience and her total dislike about office romance were her salvation against this illegally handsome man. If she wanted to survive, she had to put up an armor – a tough one.
"I have finished memorizing the schedule, sir," she reported.
She didn't bother with other pleasantries such as welcoming him – he wouldn't care any other way. She had tried small pleasant talks with him before when she interviewed him for the magazine feature and was shot down and curtly told to get down to business.
"Un-memorize them then. We have other urgent business to take care of," he said nonchalantly as he put his glasses back on and started going through the documents again.
Huh?
"E-excuse me?" Yanee wanted to make sure she didn't mishear him.
Did the guy just tell her to forget what he asked her to memorize earlier?
"Aside from being late, is being deaf also the norm for you?" the guy countered shocking Yanee.
She sat straight up, her feathers totally ruffled. What did this guy just say?
"Excuse me. I just want clarification as I was told to memorize your schedule just this morning."
"And I said to forget about it just now," he countered, as he put the documents back down again.
He removed his glasses and placed them on top of the paper before giving her a look, and surprisingly, a rare smile. However, Yanee was too annoyed to appreciate the beauty in front of her. Well, she didn't want to acknowledge his handsomeness in the first place. She's not a fan of crushes at work as well. So, from now on...
Potato. You're a friggin' potato, so stop smiling, she mused, unhappy as she looked at her boss.
She wouldn't say that out loud, though. Even if she heard that he was somewhat a nice boss, she wouldn't dare give him a reason to sack her.
"These are possible new projects," Tohru James said, indicating the paper in front of him, and Yanee's annoyance toned down.
She looked at the stack of papers and wondered what those were. As if reading her mind, her boss picked up one set of documents and handed it over. It was a proposal for a series. It was a literary work – children's general fiction proposal and Yanee was impressed with it immediately. Even if she disliked literary works as she preferred magazines, she couldn't deny the appeal of the series and could already imagine its popularity once it came out on paperback.
"This is great," Yanee said with excitement in her eyes.
"Is it?" Tohru countered with one brow raised at her questioningly.
"Definitely! I would love to work on this," Yanee nodded.
She reckoned her boss was showing this to her as he wanted her to handle this project. She totally misunderstood.
"Ms. Lee, what kind of department are we?" he asked in light tones.
"The literary department?" she wondered why he was asking her that.
Tohru nodded. "That's right. So, what books do we have that are earning a lot these days?" he prompted again, and Yanee had to search her mind for the title of the book which was number one in sales.
"The School Patrol," she answered.
The mentioned was also a series dedicated to kids and was the number one bestselling series in this department. Yanee didn't really memorize the books they had ongoing in the department, but since the book was popular, she was able to answer.
"That's right," Tohru agreed, before turning to her again with a questioning gaze. "So please tell me Ms. Lee, why do you have to personally handle a project that already has a very good following?"
The question made Yanee frown. Well, the following didn't matter. A project was a project, right? But of course, this was Tohru James. The guy had a penchant for doing things the hard way. Instead of working on already popular genres, he preferred to work on the least popular one and develop it into gold. It was how he earned his reputation back in Niji International.
Seeing as she seemed to understand that, Tohru James took more of the documents from the table and handed them to her. "Give this to the editors. Let them handle these," he ordered and Yanee clamped her mouth shut as she stood.
Since there weren't any initial problems with the proposals, it seemed they wouldn't be handling projects personally. But her boss called her here so there must be something for her too, right?
She was on the way to the door when she couldn't take it anymore and turned to her boss. "Sir?" she called, and Tohru James looked up at her again.
"What are we going to work on then?" she finally asked as she tried her best to remember which genre sold the least in her company, and she nearly groaned out loud as she realized what it was.
Tohru James grinned. "Do I have to answer that Ms. Lee? You already know the answer, right?"
Yanee of course nodded, the light vanishing from her eyes as she answered. "Romance."

Lewis wasn't sure why, but he felt a chill. Looking over at the girl, he shook his head, trying to rid himself of his paranoia. He watched as his parents left. Turning to face Annabelle he smiled. 

"So, do you want to watch TV? Boardgames? Or do you prefer computer games?" He paused. "Or would you like to read a book?"

'What even are those things? TV? Games on a board? What even is a computer? If I say book, there's no reason for me to talk to him.' She ended up thinking for a while. 

"Um, if you can't decide should we just watch TV? If you want to do something else later just let me know." He moved to the other room, waving at her to follow. 

"Okay." 

'Thank goodness for impatient kids.'

She followed him, upon entering the room she saw a large rectangular screen hanging on a wall.

'Oh, so TV is like a hologram? I hope he doesn't ask me what I want to watch…'

"What would you like to watch? We have a lot of movies, and a couple of series to pick from. I can also turn streaming on, and you could pick from that list if you want."

'I give up… Screw it.'

"I'm cool with whatever you want as long as it's action." She had watched a lot of action adventure movies when she was growing up. Though she hoped that earth had the same classification system.

"Are you sure? Is it okay if we watch Aliens?"

She raised an eyebrow.

He realized why in a few seconds. "It's not a dig, I swear!"

"Sure. What's it about?"

"It's a really great action thriller about alien monsters."

"Really?" She wasn't sure what to say.

"Yeah, if you don't like it or get scared, we can turn it off." He smiled as he put the DVD into the player. "It's kind of old, so give the CGI some grace alright."

'I'm just going to pretend I know what that is.'



About two and a half hours later Annabelle was thoroughly amazed at what humans could come up with.

'There are actually creatures like that. There's no way some human came up with that storyline…' She had been so engrossed in the plotless film that she had forgotten to mine information from Lewis.

"So… What did you think?" Lewis spoke up from beside her on the couch.

"The concept is interesting, but it lacks plot…"

"Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to watch Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection. They kept killing off any plotline that semi-developed during the first and second movies. Though the new ones do kind of have a plot!"

'Oh no. I need to stop him before I get to hear all about this series…'

"Lewis what do your parents do?" She blurted.

"Dad acts as the clan head and mom helps him as deputy. They had a meeting clarifying clan policy about humans…" He stopped, realizing what he had just said. "About how we as humans should treat animals. Clan is just the name of their policy creation team."

"Okay." She accepted his explanation.

'Yeah right, brat. That means whatever they are, they're part of a clan. I know for sure they aren't human now thanks to his slip-up. Though it still doesn't clarify what they are…'

She was interrupted in her thoughts by Lewis.

"Hey, do you want anything to drink?" He was nervous and wanted to distract her from his earlier words.

"I'm good. By the way… You have a tail."

"Oh sh**, mom and dad are going to kill me…" 

"Because you lost control of your transformation in front of me?" She was grasping at straws.

"You're not freaking out, does that mean you aren't human?" He hoped against hope she answered yes. If so, his punishment would be less than if she were.

When she didn't answer he started freaking out. "I'm going to lose everything. They'll take away my phone, TV privileges, I won't be able to hang out with friends… PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE." He was beginning to sound desperate.

"I'm not human. But I'm not telling you what I am." She stuck her tongue out at him.

"Thank goodness."

"What exactly are you?"

"A dragon."

"Really? Interesting, I haven't met a dragon before. Can I touch your scales?"

"Sure, there isn't anything interesting about them though. Since I'm immature they haven't glossed over yet or gained their color."

"How old are you?"

"A thousand. You?"

'Hmm, so a thousand is still considered a child. Approximately around the age of thirteen or fourteen maybe? And they seem to think I'm younger than him. Jeez, it's just one frying pan to another. I hope I don't end up in the fire anytime soon…'

"I'm not too sure. I got abandoned in an orphanage, and I don't really have any memories before that. All I remember is that in the last five years I haven't changed, and they started treating me like a monster, so I ran away."

"Please don't let your dad send me back. They might kill me, or worse experiment on me." She tried to look terrified, as if she had been in that situation.

But her acting sucked… It helped that Lewis was also a kid and a naïve one at that.

"I won't, if we explain your situation to him, he'll understand. He'll help you. I promise, when he hears your story, he won't ever send you back there."

"Thank you, Lewis!" She threw herself into his arms. Not having to act the feeling of relief she was experiencing. Hopefully she wouldn't have to re-enact the 'play' in front of John or Shelly. They'd probably figure her out in an instant.

"Can you explain it to them. I really don't like thinking about that place." She had moved away from Lewis. Trying to act timid.

"Sure. Don't worry about it I'll talk to him for you." 

'I feel bad doing this, sorry Lewis. But it's important I'm not found out. Please let me take advantage of your naivete since I can't act worth crap.'

“What do you mean it’s year *****?! I just took a nap, how could fifty-thousand years pass!” 
Fifty-thousand years ago Earth was evacuated, having slept though everything Annabelle must catch up to the times, find her lost brothers, and take revenge for her planet.

After touring my house i understand one thing that this house is awesome, my bedroom is on second floor and when i entered it i was awestruck it was twice the size of my apartment in my previous life it has large king size bed in corner there is fireplace with comfortable chairs, there is large book shelf full with basic books for magic, and ceiling is like great hall in Hogwarts all in all it is amazing.
well most rooms that left me awe is on third floor there is room for magic practice with dummies and all, there is room for practicing potion making with all equipment's, and there is library which has probably two to three times more books than all the books in Hogwarts, there are also other rooms like room for rituals, room for practicing runes making etc.. most important thing, in basement of my house there is vault and in vault there is mountain galleons, when i called zaldy and asked him how many galleons are there he said there are 1.4 billion galleons in vaults i was shocked i mean with that many galleon what can't i buy
after closing the vault i went outside the house to have look there is very high tower beside my house, which is probably for observing the night sky, and there is also very big field behind my house it's for practice flying, after seeing everything i went inside my house and sat on couch thinking of things i should do from now on, after few minutes zaldy came and called me for dinner, i stopped thinking and went to dining room and sat on big luxurious dining table there was all kind of food on table it was amazing, after finishing my dinner right now i am in my bedroom sitting on bed and trying to feel magic.
{few minutes later} 
suddenly there was this feeling like opening valve in my body and some kind of energy started flowing in my body 
which i guess is my magic, i have real MAGIC flowing in me i'm so exited!Muhahahaha..!
(ok, calm down calm down, i still have to make my magic reserve bigger and i still have to learn how to control magic and use it in throwing spell and stuff.)
after calming down i circulated magic in my body several times (i guess it does make my body little stronger) after that i circulated magic toward my hand and tried cast most basic spell of magic world, lumos and there is small ball of light on my hand, and i casted it chantlessly, it worked because of my perfect occlumency, after casting it 4 more times i tried other spells like Levitation spell and other basic spell my magic was drained and i began to feel very sleepy and fell asleep.
i woke up lazily, i fell asleep for an hour after consuming my magic, after checking my magic reserve i was little surprised cuse it is little bigger than before, and also my magic reserve is bigger than every kids my age. after experimenting little and asking zaldy some question i found out that my magic reserve is equivalent to that of average adult magician.
(i think i should go to sleep now and do other thing's in morning, hahah i'am so excited i was able to come to the world of my favourite movie series)
 

Ray who is big fan of harry potter just got out of theater after watching endgame when he saw some people trying to rob a lady he decided to help a lady and was stabbed by muggers

Dying and reincarnating was a fucked-up thing, in one minute you were living you daily life, going to college, studying or fucking your wife/girlfriend and bam, you died, lights off, a weird voice speaking to you and another bam lights on you're in a totally new life.
My name … well I really don't remember, but I was an ex-soldier, four years fighting till I got out, in my old life I loved few things, cooking I was damm good in that, ,movies and series, reading good books, games and cartoons, I had two masters degrees in chemical and engineering, mostly because my work.
Last thing I remember before dying, I were watching the rewrite of the last season of game of thrones, the whole thing was remade according the lasts books since the epic failure that the other last season was.
The next thing everything went black and I was in floating in the dark with a weird voice speaking with me, the voice basically said that I died, I was to be reborn, and the next moment I woke in the arms of a tired redhead woman.
 To resume things, I reincarnated as Brennan Stark, second son of lord Eddard Stark and lady Catelyn Stark of Winterfell, and young twin brother of Robb Stark. While Robb take his appearance from his mother, Brennan had all Stark traits, dark hair and gray eyes.
At first, he was terrified in reborning in this kind of world, it was stagnated, medieval, and dangerous, there are no doctors besides the maesters, who were not that trustful, there are no paper to clean his ass and worse there will be wars and dragons in near future.
To make things worse he couldn't trust entirely in his knowledge of future because the timeline seemed different from the books, as a matter of fact, like in the tv series he was four years older than he was supposed to be in the books. So, with basic math he would be 18 in beginning of series/books.
The only good thing in it was that the mysterious voice told him that he would gain something to help him survive in this world, the bad thing was that he needed to reach the age of 8 before it.
Living in a medieval world was extremely boring, especially if you lived in a really cold area, there was nothing to do besides eat, shit yourself and watch his mother doing crochet, he couldn't even watch the guards training because it was too cold.
 The only good thing was the beautiful wet-nurse that feed him sometimes.
Living in total boredom like that was a torture to a twenty-one century man, so to pass time he spend most of his time making different mental math equations, watching the snow fall or sleeping.
Time passed and soon he made his first, second and third name days the way they call birthdays in this world. Now he could speak and walk properly, and could explore parts of the castle with supervision.
As the son of a lord as soon he could walk he and his brothers started his studies, maester Luwin, was the one who educated them, he teach how to read, the most basic math, about the star and others subjects. 
Unlike Jon and Robb who didn't liked the classes he absorbed most of the teaching of the old man, who always pleased his intelligence and talked that he could be a good maester any time.
Speaking in Jon and Robb, he really didn't spend much time with they, specially Jon mostly because his mother, the only time that he spend with them was in the classes of the old maester.
The way that his mother treated Jon, made him distance away from her.
More time passed and Sansa and Arya were born, and Brennan started to fell anxious, soon he would gain the gift that the voice said all those years ago, what could not come in a better time since the Greyjoy rebellion was near if he remembered right. 
At the age of seven he started his swordsmanship training, with Robb and Jon, under ser Rodrik Cassel the master-at-arms, despite his preference for the books he trained harder than Robb and Jon, knowing the future made him anxious to get the better he could as soon as possible.
He lacked the talent for the sword that Jon and Robb had, but the effort that he put in the training helped him to overcome the two of them, this had the effect in motivating the two who started training even harder, to the joy of the master-at-arms.
Bran had born in that year too.
As the year passed soon his name day approached, around one week before, his anxious were of the cards, the rebellion would happen any time soon and he didn't get the so expected gift yet.
When his name day came, a small party was made for him and Robb, there were some alcohol to the adults and juice and small amounts of sweets for the kids, the music was boring but there wasn't nothing any better anyway.
When the midnight came a ping sounded in his head and some information surged in his brain. After taking a time to comprehend what happened he felt happy and uneasy.
The gift that he gained was a type of "gacha" basically he needed to give an amount of money for a random prize, this prize could be an item like a sword, armor or a book, a creature like a dog or a bear, a unit that could be a human mage or a dwarf smith, or an ability like creating fire or breathing in the water. 
An ability could be absorbed to gain it powers or given to others granting them with the ability. Item were to be used, anyone could use them, creatures were animals or beasts that when summoned were completely loyal to the owner.
A unit could be anyone from different worlds, a unit could be used in two ways, the summoning were the unit would appear is this world, summoned unit were completely loyal, but they had their own emotions and feelings, so they could choose obey or not some commands, plus they needed food and water to survive, once summoned the unit couldn't be retrieved, they would live, age and die like any others person.  
The second way is absorbing them, hen a unit were absorbed the person or absorbed would gain their skills, knowledges and capabilities. For example, if Brennan absorbed a superman unit, he would gain all his powers and knowledge, without his weakness. 
However, if he gained a pack with superman skills, he would only have his skills with no knowledge about how to use or control.
Unit could come, in different levels and stats, a good example if Brennan gained Luke skywalker (child), the unit would be a child with some hidden talent but no training what would be worthless to him, however if he gained Luke skywalker (Peak), he would have a unit in the peak of their skills, with training and knowledge in how to use them.
The prizes also could come in "packs" for abilities, items and creatures and squads for unit.
The prize could come from thousands of different worlds, be it books, cartoons or movies, for example you could receive the capacity of do magic like harry potter or get a character from a movie, like batman or a x-men.
A normal row costed each 100 gold dragons, and any specification rose the price ten times, for a maximum of four specification.
An example, is if he wanted a determined item from a determined world the chance of getting it was almost zero, but if he made a specification the chances rise, imagine that he wanted a lightsaber from Star Wars.
He should specify the world, Star Wars, and the type, an item, so when the gacha rolled he would an item from only this world, the chances rose a lot but there still a chance of him gaining another thing like a laser weapon or an armor.
Each specification made the cost of row rise 10 times, so 1 specification rise the price to 1000 gold and 2 to 10.000. the max specification were 3, at cost of 100.000. 
Basically, you needed luck to gain something useful or that you wanted.
For others paramount lord's son's, it would be a small thing, but the north was relatively poor, most of their money go to buy food from others places, like the Reach and the riverlands, and according his father words the price would probably only rise in the future.
To he gets 100 gold dragons to spend it would be difficult if not impossible.
Luckily to help him survive he got a 10x row for free. A 10x row granted at least one rare rank prize, and how it has his first time it would grant only Uncommon or above rank prizes.
The ranks varied in.
C – Common
U – Uncommon
Ur – Uncommon rare
R – Rare
SR – Super Rare
UR – Ultra rare
USR – Ultra Super Rare
 L – Legendary
LR – Legendary Rare
The higher the rank the more valious and powerful the prize should be. Not wanting to delay the things more, he used the row, a vending machine appeared in his mind and threw ten shining light balls, one by one the balls broke and information of the prizes came to his head.

After read his earning Brennan felt a lot of happiness, and the panic in his earth calmed a lot.
Varamyr Sixskins a unit type, Varamyr was a person of this world, a wildling and a powerful skinchanger who was famous for controlling six different animals. Unfortunately, he was not a greenseer, but he was an experienced warrior, and his skinchanging were very useful and valious.
As Varamyr, existed is this world, he couldn't summon him, mainly because having a wildling in winterfell was not a good idea plus two of the same person would raise suspicion towards him immediately, well unless he killed the original and replaced he with the unit.
The second was also a unit, and a quite famous one and familiar for Brennan, Geralt of Rivia the white wolf, Geralt was the main character of a Serie of books, games and a tv series, he was a witcher, a human that passed through a mutation to gain the ability to fight monsters.
The third, was also a unit, from the same world as Geralt, Brennan didn't know much about him besides that he is a Grandmaster armorer and Blacksmith, who were trained by an elf, besides being a common human his blacksmith skills were very valious in this world.
The fourth was an ability owned by a character of a book series, if he remembered right from Percy Jackson, Frank Zheng had the incredible ability to transform himself in different animals and mythical creatures.
The Fifth came from a game called Dungeons and Dragons, Druid were guardians of nature, they possess great skill and powerful magic, they could talk with nature and animals, transform themselves into animals, could make the earth more fertile and plats grow faster, a level 15 druid was very near to be a master in his profession, the circle as a specialization of the class.
The sixth, was a pack that contained all abilities of Leo Valdez, from the same world as Frank Zheng skills, he didn't know much of both characters besides some things that he read on a wikia, as far as he know Leo Valdez was a son of Hephaestus, and an important member of the books.
 The seventh, was an item from this world, a pack with five swords made of Valyrian steel, despite its low rank, a single sword could be sold for a astronomic high price, even though it was a normal sword, it would never lost it sharpness and was one of the few materials capable of killing the wrights and the others. Besides it was a symbol of status for a house, that's why the Lannister house offered to pay 1 million dragons for any Valyrian steel sword.
The eighth, the Panserbjørn, were armored polar bears came from a book series that latter was adapted to movies, he knew very little about them besides, they were as smart as a human and capable of speak and think, they possess armors and they were good smiths even though they were bears.
The ninth was a unit, it came from a cartoon called avatar, an earthbender had the capacity to manipulate earth and rock at will, at the master level, one could use it to a great extension, and like others benders they had knowledge of it fighting style. To an Earthbender, was possible also use his two bending, the metalbending and lavabending.
The final was the most common one, was the archery abilities of Hawkeye a famous archer in the marvel comics, quite normal, but in a world where there are no guns knowing how to use a bow was a necessary skill. Hawkeye's skill with a bow were so high, that he could hit multiple targets or shoot several arrows at once with easy.
Each single prize was pretty good, had different abilities, and covered different areas, but even through they could help him survive they were not undefeatable in any way, if he got surrounded it only that a luck strike or arrow to end his life.  
Varamyr was an experient fighter and his skinchanging skills and knowledge were one of the bests in the series, Brennan remembered that all Stark children were wargs, in different degrees, the strongest was definitively Bran, but only after becoming the three eyed crow. Even with that skills, varamyr still a common human, and his beasts could deal with smalls groups but they were easy pray for a large group or an army. Even a small group prepared to fight him could win.
Geralt of Rivia, was great warrior, with great skills in almost any weapon, as a witcher he had super strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance, that could not be matched by any trained human, even among others witchers he was more strong than most, a witcher had a keen nightvision, tremendous resistance to disease, Accelerated healing granting quick recovery from injuries, and could use a very unique and useful form of magic called Signs, in the top of that a witcher had a very long lifespan, Geralt by the end of game series had 210 years and was considered young, Vesemir, had around 600 years and was only a middle aged man.
But he was not invincible either, witchers could be poisoned or killed either by traps or being surrounded, a good example of it was Gaetan of cat school, he was badly wounded by villagers in a trap and almost died.
Frank Zheng Shapeshifting skills, were pretty good are really useful, at its maximum extent it was possible to transform even in a dragon, but even a dragon had weakness, and some scorpions in this world were made specifically to kill dragons, and Brennan was not tempted to try who scales were thicker.
The forest circle Druid, had very good physical and magical skills, he could use some weapons with proficiency and cast a determined number of spell per day, at 15 level, a druid can cast almost all spell of it class, they could control and speak with animals and plants, make plants grow faster, turn the soil more fertile, heal others people, make potions and poisons, conjure creatures and even had a spell to bring back the deads who died range of 10 days.
A druid could deal with a small army, and had skills that allowed him to scape, but had a vey limited numbers of spells to use per day, so the spells needed to be used carefully.
The Leo Valdez skill pack, was mystery to him he only knew that he was a son of Hephaestus, and nothing more, so besides blacksmithing and constructions skill he knew nothing more. 
The Panserbjørn squad were a good complement, they were strong as bears and smart as humans, they had strong armors to protect them from most harmful attacks, and with skinchanging skill it was easy to explain their obedience. But they had limits to, if surrounded or facing a stronger enemy they could die like any other bear.
Hawkeye's archery skill was normal compared to magic, and as strong as it was it need distance, and its effects were minimum even in a war were thousand of arrows were flying around.
Thinking in the near future and analyzing some of events, Brennan decided to absorb all the skill along with some units, he needed power urgently, and by absorbing Geralt, Druid and Varamyr units he would gain all their power immediately, what would help him in the near future.
With Geralt, Varamyr and the Druid skills, he would have power to protect himself and fight with adults easily, the abilities he could develop with time, and there isn't anyone that he could trust with this secret yet.
The earthbender master he would summon later, as protector, a master earthbender could easily came and go from Winterfell without being noted, with easy. And if was necessary was easy to fake him as a mage of some kind. 
The Panserbjørn were easy to explain, he only needed to show some skinchanging skill to his father and the presence of the bears would be easily explained. The armors would be hard to explain but he could find an answer for it later.
As for Lazare Lafargue, he didn't need his skill yet so he would wait and decide about him in later.

The commotion of the new semester turned into a ruckus after a few days, which had then turned into chaos in the span of the first month. That is to say, nothing had changed at all during this entire month. Being in charge of first graders on her third year as a teacher proved to be a challenge for Hee Yeon Kim, but for reasons she could only describe as &quot;complicated,&quot; she had been forced into this difficult task. To say that her experience was lacking was a gross understatement, and it was near impossible for her to manage the ruckus that the first graders were creating. As such, it became somewhat of a routine for the teachers of adjacent classrooms to intervene and suppress(?)* the children of Class 1-3. Perhaps it was thanks to that, or perhaps the children had simply grown accustomed to school after a month, but they had reached the point where they would calm down just enough for class to start. Hee Yeon had to settle for that. Nonetheless, as soon as breaktime started, the children would resume their chaotic commotion, filling the halls with their voices as Hee Yeon sat next to the window, her head in her hands in an attempt to withstand it all.

'If only they had gym class all morning long…'

But if that were the case, then she would have to be on guard, looking out for potential injuries, which would then cause even more of a psychological strain on her. In her current state of mind, however, she wished for nothing more than to escape from all the noise. When she looked up towards the classroom again, she realized that she had to say something.
&quot;Jihoon, you can't stand on the desk. You'll get hurt!&quot; She warned in her strictest tone. &quot;Heejin, don't get so close to the window! Get down from there! There, in the back! Stop running! What if you fall over?!&quot;
Even in the midst of all the chaos, she couldn't help but notice one of her students sitting quietly, in the middle of the row next to the windows. He had become the talk of the school due to his good looks, and he was the one exception in this classroom of constant cacophony. The boy was always reading. He mainly read textbooks, but sometimes would bring in children's tales from somewhere and read those. During class he would always look at her with bright eyes, listening so intently to what she said that she felt almost awkward under the pressure, but it was thanks to him that she felt proud and satisfied to be a teacher. After all, there wasn't a teacher alive who disliked diligent students.

The boy paid no mind to his teacher's rather open observation of him and just kept on reading. He was quite happy with his current lifestyle. The classes taught him new things every day, satisfying his intellectual curiosity, and every day, the knowledge he gained from his textbooks surprised him. Reading and reaching an understanding of the material in the textbooks, regardless of the curriculum, filled the boy with an almost euphoric kind of joy. This was especially true for afterschool math class, which made him feel jittery. He derived an immense sort of satisfaction with every problem he solved correctly, and as his knowledge increased, he almost felt as if he could organize his thoughts concerning his confusing circumstances.

Just as the boy was about to immerse himself in the joy of studying, someone tapped his shoulders. When he turned around, he saw that it was Jihoon. Though only a month had passed since the start of the new semester, Jihoon already stood out from the rest of the class. To put it nicely, he was a very lively child, but in reality, he was closer to a menace. He could not bring himself to sit quietly during lessons, sprinting out of the classroom to go to the restroom (and if the teacher chased after him, he would always run away with a huge smile on his face, as if he was enjoying a game of tag), and during break time, he would jump from desk to desk, like an action maniac who delighted in the thrill and excitement of dangerous activities. He was also very creative, always coming up with new ways to make the girl who sat next to him cry. All this caused the other kids to practically line up to join Jihoon in his &quot;games,&quot; and he had become infamous within the parents' SNS chatrooms. However, being the only son of a prominent family, no one could really touch him, only increasing the frustration of the victims'(?) parents and homeroom teacher.
This same Jihoon had just approached the boy, apparently nominating(?) him as the next victim, but the boy simply looked at him wide-eyed as if he didn't know what was happening. Jihoon had his back to the group of students who followed him and looked down at him. &quot;They say you look like a plaster cast,&quot; he declared arrogantly. What did that even mean? &quot;My mom saw my sister's drawing and she said it looked like you. That's what a plaster cast is. You're plaster.&quot;

The boy went blank at Jihoon's words, confused at the utter lack of context.

Jihoon was actually referring to a bit of a hot topic among parents for a brief period of time. During the entrance ceremony, the parents had discussed the boy's outstanding looks, and someone had mentioned that he looked &quot;statuesque.&quot; Following this comment, the parents of a student preparing for art school had brought up &quot;Julian,&quot; one of the plaster cast busts used as a drawing model. Of course, parents quickly fell into a typical SNS conversation, adding that their own children were just as pretty, or whose children had better looks, but it appeared that their talks of plaster casts had reached Jihoon's ears. However, being completely unaware of this whole situation, the boy sat there dumbfounded.

&quot;He's plaster face now.&quot; Said Jihoon again, almost triumphantly. At these short, nonsensical words, the students began to clap and laugh uncontrollably. Perhaps the boy's blank expression and reaction had somehow struck them as funny. Following this relatively small incident, the boy had gained the nickname &quot;plaster face,&quot; and when Myeong-su, who was in the classroom next door, found out about this, it became his nickname at the institute as well. When the teacher heard of this, she thought it was rather cute, but she was also concerned that the boy's feelings were hurt by the nickname. It wasn't uncommon for children to feel upset at nicknames they did not like and lose their spirits.

However, the boy paid no mind to it, partly because he wasn't sure whether &quot;plaster face&quot; had enough of a negative connotation to feel upset over it, and partly because he thought it was better than what they had called him back at the peasant town. They had taken to calling him &quot;scrofa**&quot; due to the fact that he scavenged in the forest all day, or just &quot;boar.&quot; Rather than being compared to a pig, covered in mud and oinking all around the place, he preferred being compared to plaster.

With the approach of summer, the weather had reached the point where the impatient few had already begun to wear short sleeves outside. Volunteer workers still visited the institute every so often, now that the tough weeds sprouting through the lawn of the yard had grown enough to injure to the children. Though they were promptly eradicated by the volunteers, the teachers still had to warn the children to not go into the grass.

&quot;We'll be off!&quot;

The elementary schoolers shouted out as they got off the institute's van, cheerfully waving to the teacher sitting in the driver's seat. Among the children walking to the gates of the elementary school were the two first graders, Myeong-su and the boy, one third grader, one fifth grader, and two sixth graders. The sixth graders were very composed within and without the boundaries of the institute, and the third and fifth graders followed their every step. True to his status as a carefree, energetic first grader, however, Myeong-su ran into the school grounds, dragging the boy by the hand. The older children did nothing to stop them. Rather, they looked wholly uninterested, their steps seemingly much heavier than those of other students. But Myeong-su was too excited to pay attention to such things, and he just kept on running with the boy, who ran along like a leashed puppy. Though it looked like the boy was forcing himself to go along with Myeong-su, he was actually having just as much fun. He had recently discovered the existence of the school library and was ecstatic at the thought of feasting upon the mighty(?) collections of books within. The fact that all the children from the institute took the van to get to school meant that the boy always arrived before his classmates. Once in the classroom, he left his bag at his seat and headed straight to the library.

&quot;You're first again.&quot; The librarian had just started to open the library, and the boy greeted her, a gleeful smile on his face. &quot;You can go right ahead.&quot;

Having been granted permission, the boy bowed once again to the librarian, who was making her way towards her desk, and ran into the library. The musty scent of the books that had collected overnight filled his nose, and it almost felt sweet to him. He chose three books to read for that day, all relatively thin. His knowledge and comprehension were still not advanced enough for him tackle thicker books, causing him to always reach for the thinner books, meant for the younger students, without caring for their content. Such books mainly came out in series, so he had made it a habit to just go through the books series by series. Though the boy might have been unaware, children's books were not necessarily limited to just biographies and fairy tales, but also included illustrated classical literature and economics, which were enough to satisfy the boy's thirst for knowledge. Thanks to this, he had been able to catch up on his past seven years of no education and quickly learned about the systems of this world, as well as the social environment he was in.

He was also able to fully concentrate on books because they provided an escape from all the sadness and despair that came from being thrown into a completely new society and lifestyle. Or rather, he had no choice but to fully concentrate on books. His memories of the past still haunted him, no matter how much time passed.

Once the teachers' morning meeting ended, Hee Yeon went back into her classroom. Her students, who once seemed like water in hot oil, now felt like powder filling up a lidless blender. Though she had no way of knowing when the blender would turn on and scatter the powder everywhere, things were under control as long as she kept a watchful eye on the switch.
Because classes had not started yet, the switch seemed to be half pressed already, though the students attempted, if only a little, to quiet down when the teacher had walked in. Only Jihoon, apparently still in hot oil rather than the blender, spoke loudly to his friend, while the rest of the students remained in their seats and murmured to each other. The children had no way of knowing that their collective murmurs let to a very loud ruckus. Only one student, called 'plaster face' by the other kids even though he looked more like a 'Julian,' paid no mind to the noise and silently read his book. After almost a full semester of knowing him, Hee Yeon thought that he was possibly in the school's top ranks when it came to concentration and attitude towards learning, and though he hadn't stood out that much at the beginning of the semester, he had started to show great improvement in writing composition and math. When the teacher in charge of the afterschool classes spoke to her about the boy, complimenting him greatly in his skills, Hee Yeon's expectations of him had grown even more. Looking at him now, reading his book, it was hard to imagine that he was from an institute.

Just then, the bell rang out, signaling the start of classes.
&quot;Well then!&quot; Announced Hee Yeon. &quot;We'll begin class. Do you know what's for first period?&quot;
&quot;Family learning!&quot;

Hee Yeon smiled despite herself. The students seemed like small birds all singing together. Then she met eyes with 'Julian.' Though she was unsure when it had started, she definitely felt that family learning classes drained her the most, especially when looking at those eyes, filled with such sorrow. The teacher of three years couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt whenever she met those eyes, and she didn't even know why.

"Well, here you go." I gave Erza and Pyrrha their prizes. For Erza, she got a book that contains Esdeath's recipes for all strawberry cakes she made up to now, be it manually or conjuring them with the [Title: Goddess of Food]. While for Pyrrha, I gave her the same thing, but for her own favorite food instead.
Both Erza and Pyrrha look at the cooking book for a few seconds before they start jumping in absolute joys and beyond happy, that they push through all trials in this family game to win it at last. In their eyes, it was worth all the chaos they had to go through, including many betrayals during the three weeks upon discovering the [Resurrection Potions].
"I don't hear any thanks to your Father." Ryun narrow her eyes, causing both Erza and Pyrrha to shiver at this.
"Thank you very much, Father!" Both Erza and Pyrrha quickly shouted before bowing their heads to further prove how thankfully they are. Something they didn't need to do, but with Mother like theirs made it into a habit.
"Well, you girls can head back with the head through that door." I point at the door on our right, where it's glowing white. "Ryun. Mind letting Serafall and Gabriel know that I'll be waiting for them here?" I have already changed back to my original body and felt a little disappointed I couldn't do much with my [Cultivation Bodies].
"Will do my god. Girls. Come on." Ryun opens the door back to the Beelzebub universe, where everyone else currently. "I'll send you a message soon, my god." Ryun said to her god/husband before closing the door after everyone enters through the door.
The moment the door closed, I walk over to the random seats in this place, that's the closest to the door to wait for the other to appear and sat down. Afterward, I produce two [Sword Qi], with one of them containing the [Volition Sword Dao] and the other contains the [Dawn Sword Dao]. Then, using [Rejection] and [Elemental Sight] to gain more insights into these two [Dao] to form new [Dao Techniques] or refine the ones I have created. While waiting on Serafall, Gabriel, Artoria, and Rin to show up.
I grab both of the two [Sword Qi] in my hands, with my left being the [Volition Sword Dao] and the right being the [Dawn Sword Dao]. Just with a single thought, I can erase countless universes with these two [Sword Qi] alone. One that would cause a ripple throughout the entire multiverse and cause massive destruction. The other would do the same, but would cause less damage to the entire multiverse on the surface. Below this surface is hidden with the countless destruction and chaos.
[Volition Sword Dao] and [Dawn Sword Dao]. Both can kill everything, yet also save everything. The concept of killing and saving is two sides on a coin. But, with many differences, that would drive many insane without any chance of recovering.

"Let's get this show on the road!" Black slams the door open, with a big smile on his face.
"Don't slam the door." Kaori slaps the back of her little brother's head. "Greetings, Father." Kaori greets her Father with her head lower a little.
"By the power of our youth, we shall bring victory!" Rock roar with his eyes on fire.
"Great, now we can do something else other than train." Rin spoke out her thoughts, as she walks through the door.
In fact, the entire family is here. Making me raise an eyebrow at this.
"Is there something I'm missing, how come everyone is here?" I noticed, that even Ingui Yoon, Daniela, and even Shigure, as well as my other students, are coming through the door. By the time that everyone enters the [Ark]. The entire place is filled with people that I have met or hear from others are now, here.
"Well." Esdeath is the one to spoke up for everyone. "We came to the conclusion that this is the best time for us to grab all the universes in the multiverse before the three factions could figure a way to remove the curse and/or have someone on their side become a [Tier 10 - Entity]. I got the others to inform your students, ours, and everyone else that decided to join our side to take over the entire multiverse." Esdeath didn't care if any of these people would die and they knew exactly what they are signing up. Most of the people here, excluding the kids of the family are people who are eager for the big incoming fight.
"Huh..." I blink a few times. 'I did not expect this to happen after having a family vacation with Ryun and our two Daughters.' I thought to myself, wondering what happens to everyone else when I was gone for a day in their time zone. "Do I even want to know why?"
"Do you?" Esdeath asks back with a grin on her face, then look at everyone else. "You guys go do whatever for the time begin. Your teacher and the rest of us will have a meeting before the big conquest!" This caused almost everyone to let out a cheer and start moving around the [Ark]. While some stayed behind, wanting to be in the meeting as well or at least hear the important details.
"Usually, I would say no, but this time. I do." I said to Esdeath, as I create multiple chairs for everyone to sit in. With Esdeath and Ryun sitting on my left and right.
"Seeing how we're close to reaching our goal and how the three factions won't be able to do much against us for the time being. I say we grab all the universes we could get for you to absorb into your Gamer's ability. Maybe by the end, you will actually become a [Tier 10 - Entity], then no one will mess with us. Furthermore, by the time this whole thing is over. I'm pretty sure most of us will be done with this whole fighting thing and go on our lives afterward." Esdeath knew that. In the end, chances are, she and the rest would soon stay in the home universe for a long time before one of them, mostly it's their husband, who will become extremely bored and would do something extremely stupid. Yet, something worth doing to ease the boredom.
"I see." I nod my head, understanding that this is a good chance to reap the prizes while the three factions are currently out of the playing board for now. Instead of taking this chance for a small family vacation. "That's fine with me." I shrug my shoulder. "So, how are we going to do this?" I lean back in my seat, giving Esdeath and everyone else my undivided attention.
"Well, first. We need to plan out what universes are the main focus to grab and the rewards we should provide to everyone in the success in taking over said universes." Esdeath knew that without any benefits included in this conquest. An 80% chance of problems will happen no matter what. Including the chances of someone falling to their greed and end up betraying each other. So a reward system will be required.
"Anyone want to be the one to come up with the rewards?" I ask my wives, including my students that stayed to listen. I even signal them that they could provide their own ideas into this meeting to help out.
"I can do it." Raven spoke up, then let out a yawn. But, anyone in the family, including those that know Raven, knew exactly why Raven wants to do this. After all, the job with the least amount of works needs to be done in the long term.
"That's fine. Anything else we want to bring up into this meeting before going to the main point?" I ask everyone since this is meeting will be what decide our courses of action. For the next, who knows how long before reaching the end goal.
"Yeah, how will everyone get to their assigned universe to take over it?" One of my students from the side asked, causing almost everyone to whisper to each other about this.
"Oh, we'll leave it to my husband here. After all, he has many means to solve this problem. It's not really a problem for him. For others? Maybe. But, really for all of us here. Who doesn't know the things he could do?" Esdeath points this out to everyone, causing literally everyone to nods in an agreement with Esdeath.
"That's very true. Teacher always does have many methods to solve many things, where people have a hard time doing the same."
"I'm not surprised. From what I heard, Teacher's husband could even destroy a universe with a punch. A fucking physical punch."
"I wonder what methods he would use to allow all of us to travel the multiverse."
I sweatdrop at this, but kept my mouth shut and didn't comment anything about what Esdeath just said nor pay too much attention to my students and wives' students' comments.
"How about communication? While we're taking over the universes. How do we talk with everyone else that is in another universe in case we may need to report something important or call for backup?" Another student, but under Raven's teaching.
"I can solve that problem." Repellista is the one to speak up before anyone could. "Since Ragna here has already linked my [Lighthouse] to the [Ark] and has helped me create more version of my [Lighthouses]. I can provide everyone a [Lighthouse] of their own. Of course, it will be a limited version since we can't have them fall into the enemy's hands. Though, it won't be much a problem since I will make sure this won't happen. I won't say how, but just know these [Lighthouses]." Repellista took out a small blue cube that is glowing a bit. "Are what allows everyone to talk to each other. Don't worry about being overwhelmed with everyone talking to each other. I made sure to place down multiple chatrooms for everyone to use. I'll be passing these out later after the meeting." Repellista put away the [Lighthouse] as she gave her own input into this meeting.
"Any other questions?" I ask everyone. I glance at my wives, where almost all of them are paying attention to the meeting, with some are bored out of their minds. Yet, that didn't mean they weren't paying attention to what everyone is saying. Even when they are whispering.
"Are we going in blind or would there be some sort of guidebook to let us know what kind of universe we're entering?" Someone asked from the background.
"We will provide a guidebook to the universes you're aiming for, but that doesn't mean you must get one. It can be a challenge for those that want to discover what the universe they're entering themselves. But, we will make sure to tell everyone the exact way for everyone to gain control over the universe since not everyone here can takeover universes with just a single thought." Serafall answered the question, where near the end, everyone glances over at me.
"So, how are we going to do this?" Yuri asks with an eyebrow raise. "Do we just let anyone go to wherever they want or should we go the same route of placing down limitations on what anyone could take on? For example, someone wants to go into a mundane world for whatever reason, but are extremely powerful that could destroy that universe from the inside by accident. This would lead to the universe cutting off any options to allow the person to take over the universe or require someone like Ragna here to come over to take the ownership." Yuri wanted this out of the way before this becomes a problem later on.
"Might as well, since some of us are not suited for certain types of universe." Alice said to everyone, causing many to agree, including those that are more brawn than brain.
"Not to mention, there are people who are not the right role for the job." Gabriel follows with Alice, where she knew from experience how there are things she can and can't do. Though, she is still trying to work on her [Dao of Alchemy] to save her husband.
"Right then. Anything else before we begin the main topic?" I ask everyone once more, looking at everyone. When no one spoke up, "Alright. Let's get this main topic on hand."
Today will be the day, where everything before. Playing around, having fun. Is done. It's time for everyone to get ready, including the kids, if not, back into the home universe until everything is over with.
'This is my life. As the Gamer.' I thought to myself, where this is the big turning point, to see if I can get the full power of the Gamer's ability or not.

The first thing to say to all my readers. Damn, I honestly did not expect to finish this any time soon, but since someone mentions how it becoming boring or just not worth reading any longer. I may as well end it here, then prepare myself for book 2, where it may or may not get back in Ragna D. Mercer's pov as the main character.
Anyway, thanks for all those that have come and go, to read this fanfic of mine. I did not expect to last this long and truly thought I would end up like those other authors who would randomly drop their fanfics out of the blue or whatever. In fact, I came close to many times in the past, including my original version of Book 1 of the Gamer series, not this rewrite version. Yet, I somehow get the urge to continue on.
July 13, 2015. This is the date when I first begin and now it's the year 2020. Wow, 5 years in and I'm still typing my stories, even making my own original novel. Something I would never expect to see in the past. Well, I'm glad I finished this story. And for those that think I just wanted to rush this story to the ending. To be completely honest, I was looking for the right moment to end this story since I've already have many thoughts of book 2 and still do. So, better now than never and up making me turning this first story of mine into something bad.
Again, thanks for joining me in this story of mine. Which took me 5 years to finish, if you count the original version, if not, then it only took me over 2 years to finish this fanfic.
Also, for those that think I have drop/abandoned my other stories. I did not. After all, my username on the fanfiction is ImBoredSoJustDoingRandomFanfic and webnovel ImBoredSoMeh. Well, what did you expect from me? Drop it? Not in the slightest. I just need to get in the mood or something to resume in doing them. None of them are abandoned unless I say so.
Now, seeing how some people might be wondering when book 2 of the Gamer series will begin. I'll say, er... before 2021. Hehehe... ANYWHO! Since I now have a free slot while I write my original novel. Other than The Irregular Maker which I will only upload after an arc is done written down. I think I'll pick one of my fanfic or make a new one become my 2 weekly focus. My weekly focus is my original novel while the rest of my fanfic is random.
If you readers want me to decide for me, then just PM or review or something and give me a good reason why I should pick that fanfic as my 2 weekly focus.

Of all the spaces in Chicago that had changed as the Paragons overhauled the world, McCormick Place, a palace of windows, coiffed landscaping and sloped white roofs had rebuffed the anomaly influence. Like some of the city's traditional landmarks, McCormick Place stood as a signal to what had existed before. Unlike the city's traditional landmarks, McCormick Place was liable to get coated in bright banners bearing mythical heroes and worlds far stranger, somehow, than Earth.
Kat could see the setup from the train station, and even if she couldn't, the outfits of the passengers getting off around her would be clues enough as to the nature of the event. At first, the presence of anomalies had seemed the death of the mighty and miraculous heroes of film and fiction, but as it became clear few anomalies match those conjured-up abilities, and even fewer the selfless morals, storytellers dusted off the age-old icons and watched as they soared to greater heights than ever before. Kat had enjoyed them too, as a kid. Then she'd lost her parents, and now any anomaly with great powers put her on an unstable edge. When she bothered with entertainment, she'd take it straight with normals. No PTSD for her, thanks.
Even so, the crowds enthusiasm—a family to her left rattled off all the members of some hero team Kat didn't recognize, a couple to her right plotted out the timetable to see all their favorite actors, and genuine laughter permeated—pushed a smile on to her face. Not that she was having fun—never—but she had to fit in. Who'd go to a convention like this and be sour?
As Kat neared the massive collection of buildings, she sidestepped her way out of the crowd to one of the dozens of scalpers hawking last-minute day passes. A tap of her Tama to another's and she had a badge hung around her neck, declaring Kat a visitor of 'Eternal' rank, which, the scalper assured her, would guarantee her entry into just about any event she could want.
She didn't know where Calvin might be, but Kat could make guesses; the biggest shows, the biggest stars.
Once through the doors and sitting through the line for a necessary coat check—winter cold outside, blasting heat inside coupled with thousands of people would make for a sweaty day—Kat sifted to a vacant spot against the window and pulled up the conference's app on her Tama. Set a schedule.
"Hey, I know you," said the slippery voice of an anomaly Kat remembered well, mostly because the woman's ability had made her such a pain to catch. "Still making good reps off of me?"
Xia hadn't changed much in the three years since Kat had traced her. She'd been one of Kat's first catches, an anomaly Kat had found cooking in the back of a diner-style joint. Xia had been lax with her cover, turning out dishes at such a fast rate that the diner had a lunch-time reputation for getting food out no matter how tight the time. When you could flash-fry with your hands, turning out chicken fingers and fries by the thousands wasn't all that difficult. When you could do the same to a person, that made you dangerous.
"I'm doing fine," Kat said. Xia sported an emerald dress, fairy wings folded along the back with a dark crown, and a pair of teenage children trailed her, looking from their mom to their Tamas to the horde of costumed wonders passing by. "How are you?"
The trackers had something of a book on interactions with anomalies they'd traced. A series of examples, given that traced anomalies covered the range between grateful and murderous. Over time, the general consensus had settled on keeping calm and keeping your distance. Just because an anomaly had been traced, didn't mean they couldn't get their ability-driven revenge.
"Oh, you know, living every parent's dream," Xia said. "Working for the Paragons. No choice in that. And here I am with my kids, trying to have a fun day and forget, for a moment, the life you locked me into, and sure enough, the person I strangle in my dreams every night shows up!"
Kat nodded behind Xia, to her kids, both of which had picked up on their mother's escalating anger.
"Those yours?" Kat asked.
"Of course they're mine. Not that you'd care." Xia pulled a plastic wand from her belt, pointed it at Kat. "You just take. Use. Then leave."
De-escalate. That's what Kat was supposed to do. But she was tired, there were a lot of people around, and Xia had a stupid wand in her face.
"If you don't want to see me, I'm not stopping you from leaving."
Xia worked through this. Seemed, for a moment, like she would hit Kat with the wand, and Kat moved her arm up enough to block. That action, that reminder of the back-and-forth fight that'd destroyed half the diner and wound up with Kat burned and Xia unconscious and traced, untangled the angry knot forming in Xia's mind. The emerald fairy turned her back on Kat, announced to her kids that they were leaving. Kat watched Xia take two steps away before the anomaly stopped, turned back to her, nearly clipping someone in the crowd, and shouted with that ever-pointing wand, "You want to see a real villain? That's one. Right there! She'll ruin your life!"
Kat couldn't deny it.

Kat wandered. Blended in with the crowds and walked through the enormous convention center. Every so often her Tama would beep at her, announce that a show she'd pegged as being high value was starting and Kat would angle in that direction to scope out the line, but she wouldn't go in. Couldn't handle sitting, because then she'd get too far into her own head.
Mynx, the Champion who started the tracker program, never hid its purpose, or the price that trackers would pay. They were recruiters by force, and their targets—victims?—would be pushed into a sort of paid servitude for an organization they had obviously wanted to avoid. Yes, Mynx couched all of this in the sort of high-flung language of unsung heroics, that trackers were doing necessary, valued work that wouldn't make headlines.
Kat hadn't been ready for the hate.
Xia wasn't the first of Kat's anomalies to come back to her with a life turned less than ideal after Kat's interference. Sometimes the response was a dour acceptance, the loss of freedom salved with the hefty helping of reps conferred by the Paragons. They'd give Kat a half-hearted glare and move along. Rarely, she'd get ones like Stanley, who rolled something better after they left behind the paranoia inherent in being a rogue anomaly. Most of the time, Kat earned a confrontation. A slurry of words tasting of guilt, like Kat had stolen something from them, when they, in fact, chose to break Paragon law. Physical threats, like what Xia might have done had they met on a quiet street and not in a heavily patrolled convention center, tended to die away once the anomaly remembered that Kat had beaten them once, and she could do so again.
Didn't make those moments fun, though, which was why Kat spent more and more time cloistered in her apartment. No conflicts there. No reckoning with her life choices.
A sudden chorus of laughter snapped Kat back to the present and she realized she'd wandered into some sort of huge vendor hall. Booths selling every comic and movie toy imaginable littered the area, and for every physical stand, there were a half dozen virtual ones; simple posters with Tama codes that would allow you to visit discount markets or special storefronts on the Internet.
The laughter had come from a performance going on in the middle of the space. Kat thought she recognized the man standing on top of the raised platform, microphone near his lips as he railed off a series of jokes so insider-specific that Kat felt slightly embarrassed she could follow them. Being in her apartment so much meant she caught a lot of shows. Alotof shows.
She joined the crowd, hanging near the back and listened to more of the set. Kept looking around, though she'd still caught no sign of Calvin. Not that her odds were all that great, with a crowd this size. A crowd starting to get to her too, gnawing at her composure. If Calvin didn't come striding into view soon, Kat might just bounce for the day. Come back tomorrow.
The comedian ran his jokes into another series, one Kat didn't know, so she allowed some new arrivals to nudge her away and out of the show's natural pull. Anxiety worked its magic on Kat's stomach, and a confirmation of the hour made clear that it was about time for a meal. And if she needed food, it chanced that Calvin might be too. Everyone had to eat, right?

If the vendor hall had been a cluster of competing offers, the dining area offered competing scents. Apparently mass entertainment transcended cultural boundaries, as Kat picked up everything from curries, to fryers, to the distinct spicy flower smell of plant-based sausage. Operating on a similar appetite schedule, the crowds descended on the space with Kat, cramming into lines and holding out tickets for free samples or meals won at the conventions various contests.
Kat moved deeper, where the crowd thinned as the appealing nets of the entry stalls grabbed most of the people. Here, encircling a giant bar offering themed drinks in green, eco-plastic cups large enough, Kat felt, to hold her entire arm, splayed a swath of two and four person tables with light chairs flexible enough to accommodate the wide range of patrons and costumes at this particular party.
Alcohol came with a promise of familiarity, a moment of relief as Kat pressed herself into an empty bar stool. Some screens overhead showed clips of shows either completed or in progress, though a couple had breaking news bits concerning a violent affair in New England. Apparently Aegis himself had been there, along with a fleet of other Paragons.
"Thane again," the bartender offered, following Kat's eyes to the screen. "They can't keep that one put away. Ought to just end it."
"Right."
Kat wasn't in any mood to discuss the higher question of death vs. life for a criminal like Thane, so she accepted the bartender's verdict and ordered a light brew. After she received it, took a sip, she took a slow turn on the stool to look back out over the tables. The crowd.
And saw him.
It should have been obvious. Calvin looked like a loner, like her. He'd make his way here, to this odd oasis at the center of it all. Kat couldn't see his face, but he wore that same hat, the same ratty jacket. No costume for our hero. Calvin ate something, his back to the bar as he hunched over the table. An easy target. 
Found your anomaly, Gordon. At the big convention, dining hall. Come meet me now, with the bounty.
That message ought to get Gordon running. Kat didn't like admitting to herself that beating Gordon to this one gave her the biggest rush she'd had in a while, but that was life, apparently. Maybe one day she'd take the trackers up on their benefits package and see a therapist about that. About a lot of things.
But not today.
Kat slid off the stool. Slow-walked with her beer in her left hand while her right slipped beneath the fold where her jeans collided with her cream, loose sweater. Pressed up against her hip, with a special chip that let it disarm metal detectors—something the trackers received to assist in their non-lethal ventures —was a slight stun gun. Short range, loaded with a pair of nerve-numbing darts.
She slipped it out, palmed it till the barrel faced Calvin's back. Went right up to him, pressed the gun against his neck, and whispered, "Hey Calvin, why'd you run away so fast?"

Aegis used to take bullets like he took lattes - smooth and with a smile. With his invincible leadership, the growing group of gifted anomalies turned from a tool of humanity's powerful into the ones with that power. Naming himself and seven others Champion, Aegis and his many other Paragons took the world away from those who no longer deserved it, creating their own utopia.

Decades later, that utopia is showing cracks. The Paragons struggle with the weight of the world, one that Aegis may be too old to bear. When new threats emerge from normals no longer willing to live without freedom, Aegis must decide whether to fate one last time to save the world he helped create.
