There's a reception desk so in all due likelihood we need some sort of permission to train, don't we?
I head to the counter and ask the first receptionist I see.

"Hello, are we suppose to book visits before coming in here?"

"Good afternoon and that's not necessary. All I'll need is your phone and I'll be able to designate a room for you."

"Alright," I say as I hand my phone over.

Really, a lot of shit goes through this phone it's pretty ridiculous. Does that mean that they are also tracking us through our phone? Everything within the academy needs this phone in order to serve its purposes. So basically they are able to track all of our transactions by looking at the history of the cellphone, right?

"Here you go, you have 1 hour in room 233."

"How do you get to room 233?"

"Just take a left from here and head up the elevator, if you keep on walking you'll find it on the left-wing of this place. A map is also provided in case of future visits," she says as she points to the wall on her right.

"Alright."

I walk away and look at the map. This place has 4 floors, each floor's left-wing has room numbers 0-49 while the right side has 50-99, an elevator goes down the middle and some emergency staircases are located every 10 rooms. I go up the elevator and walk to room 233.

I put my phone on the scanner and go in. The room has one touchscreen tablet on it and a glass window that looks into an adjacent room. The adjacent room is completely empty with nothing on it so far, I'm guessing it's for training inside of and these controls do the settings? There's also a door in order to go into the room.

I walk towards the touchscreen and click it. I see 6 different settings. "Gravity," "Type of training." "Training duration," "Oxygen levels," "Temperature," "Rate and speed."  I can guess what gravity oxygen levels and temperatures do, but what about the other three?

I click the Type of training, Woah, that's a lot of settings. Each with a small explanation. "Ball tossing" Balls are thrown onto the target and the target has to either dodge or destroy them. I see this sounds simple, I'll select that. Another sub-menu? 'Select object breakability," the options are Magic Glass, Magic Wood, Magic Iron, Magic Iron alloy, and Magic steel. I'll select magic wood, I still can't break common Iron and glass sounds way too easy.

 The other settings Gravity and oxygen levels. I know that normal gravity is 9.8 meters per second square but I'm not sure what normal oxygen levels. It does have a base setting of 190,000 ppm so I'll leave it there. (Normal oxygen levels in ppm within 25km of the atmosphere is 209,500 ppm)

I'll make the gravity 13 meters per second and as for temperature, I'll leave it at the base setting (50 degrees Fahrenheit.) Now as for rate I assume is the number of balls thrown and this is measured per minute. I'll put it at 120 so I get two balls every second as for speed I'll make it about 30 km/h. I think that's all...nope. There's still training duration. I'll put it for 15 minutes since it's my first time and I only have an hour.

Alright, I head to the door and there's a place to put my phone on before entering. So, I am allowed to leave this here then? I place my phone there and the door opens, a message display on the center, 'walk to the center to start the training'. Alright, time to head in, oh shit before that. I place my bracelet next to the phone, alright now I'm ready. I walk to the center and the door closes. 

The next moment I feel a large amount of magic surrounds all around me, where do they get all of this mana from? The next moment I feel heavy and it becomes harder to breathe. Shit! This was sudden. The gravity isn't that much of an issue but I feel breathless right now.

"The training will start in 3..." Alright, let's see how it goes. "2...1...now."

A ball is thrown at me followed by another half a second after. I dodge the first and second one but the third comes straight at me. I send a fireball towards it and it doesn't break, the hell? It gets closer and I punch it with fire fist, it broke but it still hurt my fist. I sense another one coming from behind me and more coming right after. Shit, this is going to be difficult.

After 15 minutes of pure dodging, breaking and getting hit I finally ended. I definitely have way more magic, I can feel that I'm nowhere near depleted and yet I'm tired, I have no idea how my fatigue relieving magic didn't keep up but I guess it didn't. I guess this is what she means by magic output and magic control. I feel so out of breath, I focus on fatigue relieving magic until I'm finally able to get up. 

This will definitely make me stronger, I can feel it. I use the same setting again and start all over until the hour is done. I have a lot of magic left and I don't feel fatigued due to fatigue relieving magic, I wonder if I'm allowed to do more training.

After the hour is done I head back down to the reception an asked about it. Apparently, you're allowed but it's not recommended since there's a good chance you'll run out of magic halfway or/and you will feel too fatigued to continue. All of your magic usually takes about 1-2 days to recover apparently. Two things which I don't really have to worry about that now. 

I can't get fatigued as long as I have magic and my magic pool is huge. My recovery rate is also 2-3 hours so I don't have to worry about that. I guess I should get back to doing the daily assimilation. I got a pass for 2 hours, I played around with the temperature, gravity, rate, and oxygen concentration settings until I finally was close to running out of magic power. 

I feel so sluggish, I head back to the dorm, it's 5:00 pm and I'm already tired as hell. I get back to the dorm at 6:00 and again this kid is hunched over some papers. I guess he's the ideal roommate since he doesn't pry too much. As soon as I got onto my bed I blacked out.

I woke up again at 11:00 p.m., 5-hour nap huh. I already feel refreshed physically and I can feel that I have all my magical power back, as for my mental state... I still feel sluggish. I get up, this guy is still on his research, I look around. There's a bag with what looks like uniforms inside of it on top of the drawer. The upper shirt is white with some designs while the bottom is plain dark blue. Are these our uniforms?

I walk over to Andrew and tap his back.

"Hey, Andrew, are these our uniforms?"

He turns around startled.

"Um... Yes."

So these are our uniforms then? There's no issuing of uniforms in America though, I mean maybe a private school does that but here? Wait, now that I think about it. If that's the case is the class structure different since it's a magical school?

"Is class structure different here?"

"...As in?"

"What is the usual schedule here?"

"Oh, um, usually from 7:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. we have regular classes about history, math, science and stuff like that. From 11:00 to 12:30 comes the magical theory part of the day. Lastly, from 12:30 to 5:00 there are special classes. 

These classes are usually practical training of our elements and we don't necessarily take them every day. They are usually held at any of the arenas or in the training facilities the teachers will implement certain settings onto the computer. 

You don't have to take every class but you are required to take at least 3 classes of these types a week. The reason why it's only three times a week it's because usually you're depleted on every class and you need to let your mana recover. 

There are also special one-on-one classes that you can take if an instructor takes interest in you, these classes also count towards your requirement. I'm an exception to these classes since my type of power is geared more towards support rather than fighting. In that case, I'm required to go to the Research facility every day. Well, I enjoy going to the training facility since-"

"Alright, thanks for the information."

He looks dejected again but quickly forgets it, turns around and starts with his diagram again. 

If I don't shut him up now I get the feeling that I'll learn more about alchemy than I plan to. Now, onto what started this talk. I walk to the uniform bag and open it. I take out one of the uniforms and a note falls out of it.

I open the note, 'Hello Luis, this will be your uniform and you'll wear it starting next Monday. If you have any questions about classes ask Andrew. Next, on the first day of school, you are to report to the Principal's office in order to get oriented. From: Principal Robinson.'

So I have to report to her office on the first day? That's not really a problem I guess. I'll continue training for now.

After the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the world was afraid of the might of nuclear threat. Due to this scientist tried to find a way to create a more controlled way to create a weapon. 

After a breakthrough, some scientists found a way to use nuclear waste and alter it in order to give people special powers. Numerous human experiments were made until finally there was a breakthrough. A little after this many advanced countries became able to succeed, however even if there was a breakthrough, the rate of people who were able to acquire powers after being exposed to the waste was still low. 

After numerous experiments in 1990, all the countries of the world decided to gather and sign a treaty to stop human experimentation. However, when the first generation of children was being born the radioactive molecules in the air gathered in different spots and created gates to different realms. These gates contained massive resources and along with it come monsters and new civilizations. These gates were successfully hidden from the public by governments around the world.

It's now the year 2014, Luis is living a regular life in New York. Not liked by anyone, he was adopted his aunt's family due to his parents' death. His only moments of peace were when he trained his body and when he watched and read anime and manga, and hangs out with his cousin. One day during one of his runs a strange bag fell on him, which will lead to a change in his life.

         * According to Selvy, the <<Star forger>> is a very difficult and painful cultivation skill for ordinary people that take tremendous time and resources to keep up with it, but because of his body, the Skill fit perfectly with him to the point that the <<Star forger>> only use 5/10 of his solar radiation to strengthen his body from the root while the remaining fifth charge his other natural abilities, and as long as he keeps absorbing solar radiation his <<Star forger>> will keep running naturally, making him stronger all the time and achieve the 24h/7 days cultivation, especially after his cells widened by 10 times upgrading his absorption speed.

               Jack closed his eyes and felt the gentle rays of the sun shining on his entire body, he felt so comfortable, his body is getting stronger every second, he stayed like that for about 30 min before returning back home while his adopted mother Sam still sleeping, he took a cold shower, brushed his teeth and wore his clothes for school, then he went to awake his little Ashley. 


Jack said while trying to remove the blanket: "Ashley wakes up or we're gonna be late".

Jack looked at Ashley with some helplessness, this lazy girl is getting more rebellious.

Auron's clothes still wet because of the rain when he arrived on the sixth floor. However, it was not for long because the clothes magically dried by itself.
When Auron arrived on the sixth floor, a heavy pressure landed upon him. It was because of the gravity field. Starting from the sixth floor onwards, the scenery was the same as the five previous floors.
What made it different from the previous floors was gravity. On the sixth floor and above, the gravity was three times from ordinary.
Everything became heavier. Even Auron's armor and sword became heavier than it supposed to be. This slowed down Auron's movement. He had to put more energy just to raise the same sword. Auron took a step forward. His steps were heavier due to the weight.
The sixth floor took the same scenery as the first floor, an empty field. What fortunate was the number of the monsters here was not as many as the previous floor. There were only 200 monsters each time it spawned.
Due to the size of the field and the number of monsters, this made the place felt emptier. Auron looked around him and could not find anything. No monsters and no other soldiers.
Auron checked his quest. It was the same as the first floor's quest to collect the [Smole]'s head. However, the number had gone doubled. He needed to collect 200 of them. Fortunately, this floor was not as chaotic as the first floor with 30 thousand monsters.

Auron pondered for a bit of his recent fighting experience. Then, he collected the monster's head.
Auron knew this one battle was not enough for him to adapt to the gravity. So, Auron walked to look for another enemy.
One hour passed since he arrived at this place. During this one hour, he had fought with another four monsters. After these four battles, he more or less had adapted with the gravity on this floor.
Since he had already adapted with the gravity, Auron became braver. He searched the enemy more actively. Auron even fought against two enemies at once.
However, Auron still took care of his health carefully. He only fought at most with two enemies at once. If he met with more than two enemies, he would escape from them and look for other enemies.
Another hour passed, Auron had killed 20 monsters. It was only 10% of his quest's goal. Auron quickly looked for another enemy.
Several hours lasted. Auron had spent more than 10 hours on this floor. Although the number of monsters not that many, the number of people on this floor also not that many.
There were around 74 soldiers that were currently on this floor, including Auron. Because of this, Auron was not in any dangerous situation. But, his quest's progress also great.
Currently, Auron had collected 180 heads. 20 more heads and he could go to the next floor. It seemed this floor was not that difficult compared to the fifth floor.

Having received good news from Iris, Dax formed a thin smile as he exited the CAS-7A which had landed in the middle of a barren grass field.
"How good to see you again lady Eos, if I can call you that."
"... Well, seeing as you already did, there's nothing to do about it."
With a single flick of her hand, Eos created an elaborate throne made out of pure mana crystal which she sat down on in a graceful manner while some dirt made a tiny stump in front of Dax.
"Take a seat."
"No thanks, I'm good standing. So what is all this about?"
Crossing his hands as the CAS-7A quietly lifted off the ground behind him, Dax waited for Eos to get to the point. In response to Dax's attitude, Eos was quite annoyed as she formulated a gravity spell formation under the demonkin and increased the gravity serval folds in order to make him kneel.
"Why don't you kneel first?"
"Nah, can we stop this dick measuring power contest already? I have other stuff to do."

(DIRECTIVE CONFIRMED, TARGET ACQUIRED. WAITING FOR AUTHENTICATION.)
Having a brief staring contest, both Eos and Dax mentally prepared for a long and bloody fight to the death while both of them were smiling at each other.
"Okay then, the 22nd sanctuary want to know your future intentions."
Backing off slightly, Eos took a relaxed pose in her throne as she stopped supplying multiple offensive spells with mana. In response, Dax also calmed down slightly as he called for the hidden drones all around them to back off. 
"I want what's mine. If the Empire freely gives up the FTL drive of my craft which landed inside the Empire's borders and the return of any and all technology belonging to me I'll size all offensive operations."

"Yeah, it is. But I believe I've already sent countless envoys to the Emperor saying as much, of course, they have all but been ignored as he enjoys the protection of multiple sanctuaries and believes himself outside of my reach."
"Well, isn't it exactly what he is?"
Showing a smug smile, Eos believed she had Dax where she wanted him, little did she know it couldn't be further from the truth.
"Not really no, I just haven't gotten tired enough of this game yet. The only reason why I haven't just started openly nuking everything is because of the goodness of my heart, that can change at any moment. You people look at us and see we lack mana, naively thinking we're weak because of that, but in all honesty, I'm just waiting for the point anyone does something which allows me to bring the full extent of my equipment to bare… The real question is how the 22nd sanctuary will align when that finally happens."
"... I am in no position to make a comment on that."

The way Eos answered the question told Dax everything he needed to know, allowing Dax to go ahead with several different plans to weaken the Empire without a direct confrontation. If things worked out as he believed they could, there was a chance he could split the Empire apart.
"But that's all something we can discuss another day. I'm out here in the fringes of the Empire to recruit personal that the Empire has forsaken, interfere and I will retract my earlier promise to leave the 22nd sanctuary alone. Your choice."
"Ha, what could you-"
While Eos took a relaxed expression, Dax pressed his attack as he realized he had the archangel exactly where he wanted her.
"Most of your combat forces are already here, that means the sanctuary is mostly unguarded. I wonder how many tactical class weapons of mass destruction I would have to expend to reduce the entire area to a heap of molten glass? I'm guessing it's less than what I currently have ready to fire."
"There's no-"
"But are you absolutely sure you want to take that bet? Especially when I do exactly what I said I wanted to do and your surviving subordinates learned that you went to war just because of some dragonkin nobody in the Empire cares about? I'm pretty sure they'll eat you alive."
(Realize when you are beaten and give it up, that way you can still save face and we'll have a chance at being friends when the Empire falls apart.)
For the first time doing their conversation, Dax let a smile show on his face as he waited for Eos to respond and back off.
"Fine… We'll be watching you."
"Of course you will~ I expect nothing less."
As Eos dissolved her throne and got up on her feet and was turning to leave, it appeared she suddenly had remembered something.
"But there are still other sanctuaries heading towards your subordinates."
"Yeah there is, will it be an issue if we kill them all?"
"Yeah it will, they're precious allies of the 22nd after all."
Leaving with those words, Eos' tone of voice told Dax that he could go right ahead and massacre them all, it seemed that the allied sanctuaries of the Empire were not as united as it seemed from the outside.
"Well, that works out perfectly. ICI get me out of here."
Looking into the sky the way Eos had left while the CAS-7A landed behind him, Dax formed a large bloodthirsty smile.
"This is command addressing all units: Engage and destroy all remaining hostiles, no mercy."

"Evacuation is a go! Mare, Solaris get the VIP's to the secondary landing site and out of the area. Lilly, Alice secure the site, I'll deal with the flies that are swarming towards this place. Iris, get all the equipment you can out within the next 10 minutes and torch the rest."
Having received the go ahead to engage and destroy all hostiles in the area at the same time as the time for the evacuation started, Lux and her subordinates went into action.
"Okay, time to move people! We'll protect you but we need to move now!"
Floating into the air above the first group of Ta'ai citizens, Solaris did her best to seem reliable as she spread out her glowing wings and spoke in a dignified tone of voice. Meanwhile, Mare took a more silent approach as she jumped up on the outer wall and took aim, shooting dead any nearby crystal infected monsters as the gate opened. As the evacuation started picking up speed, so did the attempts at stopping it.
"Bring up the flank! Don't let them get aw- Arg!"
Unluckily for the angels belonging to several different sanctuaries of the Empire, Lux was their opponent. Against opponents who couldn't deal with attacks coming from over the horizon without relying on slow and predictable magic attacks, it turned out to be more of a slaughter than a fight, although Lux had to deplete a significant part of the stockpiled monitions to achieve such a result. In the end, the evacuation of the surviving Ta'ai people went on without any major problems (except for some of them how panicked when they saw the massive space planes landed) and within the day they were all relocated to the village where some of the survivors of the incident magic academy still remained.

As Zhao took another large swig of his glass, the two and a half meter tall dragonkin started laughing so loud that the walls slightly shook while hitting his own knee with a closed fist and demonstrated his truly inhuman power at the same time.
"Oh don't thank me, thank your daughter! She's the one who made me unable to decline her request. Now, less talking and more drinking!"
"Yes! You really are a genius, Dax!"
"Of course I am!~"
"... How long has it been since Zhao woke up?"
Having finished her inspection, Lux walked in on something that made her briefly at a loss for words the same way Xi felt, both of them having extremely tired expressions.

"... And how long has it been since they started drinking like this?"

Apparently Xi and her mother Girshu had returned to check up on Zhao who had recently recovered from his injury, only to find the dragonkin drinking together with Dax and already on their 3rd bottle of high proof alcohol. 
"Still! You really did quite a number on that lad of ours! Even if I haven't seen him training yet I can immediately tell that he's no longer afraid of death."
"Yeah that kid sure was a rough gemstone when I first saw him, the talent was already there, I just polished him a little bit. Now he has really just taken the first step, over the next hundred years he'll shine brightly."
"A hundred years!? Ghahaha! give me 50 years and I'll have him shining better than you ever could!"
"Yeah right, sure! With that fluffy kind of martial arts, I'll be surprised if he can even kill a kitten. The only real way forward is qiton martial arts!"
"What was that!?"

But all of a sudden the mary mood came to an immediate end, at least for one of the participants as Dax was still having a grand old time.

Realizing what was about to happen, Lux quickly scanned the room for any valuables which were about to be broken, sadly she was too slow.
"What did you just say!"
Standing up faster than he should have in his condition, Zhao struck Dax with a straight right in the face, making him fall to the floor.
"Oh, you're on!"
Shaking his head, Dax got back on his feet as he charged at Zhao, immediately running him through the outer wall with a smile on his face.
"Dad!"
Worried about her recently recovered farther, Xi ran out the hole Dax had created to find both of the grown men in the dirt laughing.
"Eh?"
"Ghahaha! That was one hell of a tackle!"
"Hahahaha! Yeah, it was! that hook of yours wasn't half bad either! It seems like I still have a lot of things to learn."
Suddenly acting like old time friends after beating the shit out of each other, Xi was extremely confused. Meanwhile, Lux took a deep breath as she suddenly got an even more tied look in her eyes.
"They're just playing around… Dad, I need to talk with you!"
Trying to get through to Dax Lux walked over to him as he was rolling around on the ground with his new best drinking buddy.
"Yeah I know, I've seen the report. I know we're fucked no matter what we're doing."
"Then!-"
"In that case let me have this, we can talk after."
"... Okay. You have 24 hours."


After crash landing in what turns out to be a fantasy world, the orbital marine Dax will have to fight the powers that
occupy the world to reclaim the technology that got stranded along with him and eventually repair his crashed ship
to return to his own world.
On the way he discovers the rule breaking power of mana, a special particle that seems naive to the world he now
is a part of. Feeling seriously outgunned Dax places a priority on regaining his lost weaponry that is scattered
throughout the world, ranging in size and effectiveness from electromagnetically powered assault rifles,
powered exoskeletons and autonomous drones from the size of a spying UAV to heavy assault ships.
But the marine is not alone in his search those weapons, the powers of the world he now finds himself a part of is
quickly realizing that something outside their realm of understanding has graced the planet and that those artefacts
trapped inside large floating black sphere’s hold vast strategic value. Dax is then faced with a complex problem,
he must secure the technology that he needs to leave while at the same time make sure the tools of war from his world is not misused at the cost of being made a target by powers he fails to fully understand.

On his way Dax will have run ins with various powers, some of them hostile, some of them a bit more amenable to persuasion and mutual cooperation. After all, what is a knight, king, angel, demon or grand wizard to a railgun or even a tactical class high energy laser in orbit?

They’re soft targets.


For the record, English is not my first language, so there might be some spelling/grammar mistakes here and there. I’ve been getting better at writing over the last year or so, and have plans to go back and edit my old chapters, but it’s really hard to find the time.

	"You and that door…" Ren Tao continued with a hint of worry in his voice, "it took almost 5 hours to escort half of the population out, it would take another 5 to evacuate the rest, but this door…"

	"This door would not hold for another hour according to your superpower. This is an unmitigated disaster!" finished a vexed Ren Tao.

	Shattering his usual oblivious countenance was a sharp glint of brilliance in his eyes, it was as if the thinker within had suddenly awoken. 

	A few minutes later, Ren Tao could be found accosting Yao Yuan. 

	"A demolition job? Do you fathom what you’re saying, the consequences that it would bring?" asked an incredulous Yao Yuan. 

	Ren Tao nodded obediently, "Of course. The moment the door is broken down, it’ll create a giant pressure built from the air within the base being forcefully sucked out into space. This pressure will be strong enough to carry people out with it, and since the meteorite’s gravity is only 1/12 of Earth’s, if the person is taken too far away from the surface of the meteorite, he or she would be lost forever in space. So, this could be a giant disaster that will probably wipe out tens of thousands of people!"

	Barely containing his anger, Yao Yuan waved Ren Tao away, "If you’re clear with the consequences, why would you suggest such a ludicrous idea? Have you lost your mind? Go disturb someone else… or you’re hankering to leave already? Tell me if you are, I’ll move you to the front of the group."

	Ren Tao though continued stubbornly, "I’m just describing what will happen if we demolish the entrance, yes it is going to be a disaster and I could guarantee not one tenth of the people will survive this demolition… But since the entrance is going to fall within the next hour anyway, why not bet against certain doom?"

	Surprised by Ren Tao’s acute observation, after giving it some thought, Yao Yuan tossed him a report, saying, "read this."

	Ren Tao read the report carefully. It was the report from the geological unit. Using powerful sonar rays, The Hope’s surveillance room was able to tell that the rock layer surrounding the underground base entrance would not hold for another hour. In fact, they speculated the door would only keep on standing for another 40 minutes. 

	Ren Tao was not surprised by the report’s result, calmly he returned the report and said, "We’re facing down certain doom, one way or another tens of thousands of people are going to die. Instead of walking willingly into it, why not challenge death itself?"

	"And how do you suggest we do that?" asked Yao Yuan noncommittally, unconvinced a boy like Ren Tao could potentially provide any useful idea. 

	"First we need to shut down all the air circulatory system in the base. Next, we will use the multiple quarantine rooms to pre-release all the air in the base. Then, instead of waiting for the door to collapse, we will blow it up using C4 that will be strategically placed at the entrance’s weak points. After the door is down, the people won’t need to waste time going through the protocols anymore. With this, we can retreat to The Hope within the shortest time possible!

	Key to the success of this plan is that all the children have already been transported back to The Hope. A short jog in space will not harm us adults who are equipped with the necessary space gear!"

	Yao Yuan turned to take a good look at Ren Tao. He was so surprised by his proposal that he stood up from his seated position. 

	Frowning, Yao Yuan started circling around the small area. After deliberating the multiple conditions of Ren Tao’s proposal, he finally said, "Yes, your suggestion might work. Indeed, the crucial point is the balance of air pressure within and without the base. If we pre-release the air in the base, we could bypass the tragedy that would form due to the great difference in air pressure. Now, we just need someone who can accurately pinpoint the weak points in the entrance foundation. If we’re not carefully, we might initiate a chain of explosions that will bring the whole base down…"

	Ren Tao smiled kindly, "I’m here just to get the ball rolling. The rest is beyond my capacity… Furthermore, I believe there is an explosive expert within the Black Star unit. Am I wrong?"

	Yao Yuan stared long and hard at Ren Tao. "I understand. Chou Yue can now be safely released from her post. She might be a bit weak on her feet so help her get into one of the short-distance buses. Also… Ren Tao, I believe you might have something to report to me after this whole disaster is over…"

	Ren Tao smiled bitterly and mysteriously before turning to head down Chou Yue’s direction.

	Yao Yuan didn’t mull on Ren Tao’s situation but immediately contacted The Hope using his communicator. He couldn’t just follow Ren Tao’s suggestion without approval from The Academy, but he believed… Ren Tao had hit the hammer on its head. 

	Not long after that, everyone in the base was told to put on their space helmet and activate their spacesuit’s life support system. Alongside powering up the remaining short-distance buses, the whole enterprise took about 10 minutes. In that time, exhausted military men moved through the crowd, double-checking for safety.  

	After everyone was ready, and the circulatory as well as gravitational system for the base had been logged off, approval from The Academy finally arrived! 

	Yao Yuan acted upon it quickly, ordering everyone to move away from the entrance. Then all the quarantine chambers open their doors. Air in the base escaped swiftly into space through these special channels, it took barely 10 minutes for it to complete doing so. 

	After that, rocks around the entrance started to move. Weakening in its structure was so obvious that even normal citizens could see the door was beginning its collapse. There was a burgeoning commotion among the people but that was quickly stamped down. The reason for that was simple and obvious, it was as Ren Tao had said, the major was the grounding force for the citizens of The Hope. 

	All the Black Star members were also present and the explosive expert revealed himself to be Wa Luo, the impertinent young man who often treated things way too lightly. No one had expected him to be part of the Black Star, much less one of the Special Forces. 

	Yao Yuan didn’t provide much explanation to Wa Luo after giving him the directives, but many was communicated in the wordless salute that followed. In comparison to Yao Yuan who was incredibly serious, Wa Luo retained his happy-go-lucky countenance, his frivolous nature betraying none of the seriousness of the situation. 

	The rest of the Black Star members though knew about the explosive genius that hid behind that flighty appearance. Known as the firecracker, Wa Luo was scarily proficient in setting, measuring, and placing explosives. His moniker was not because he was a colloquial firecracker but rather he could crack the inner workings of fiery explosives like a hacker could crack computers. 

	Therefore, when Ren Tao first mentioned the explosive expert in Black Star, Yao Yuan’s thoughts immediately zeroed in on Yang Wa Luo, the proud collector of prime AV films and connoisseur of the Loli culture, a young man with an impressively deep interior that hid behind a facetious exterior! 

	Armed with the high-tech sonar pictures beamed over by The Academy, installation of the explosives took barely a moment. Entering a state of eternal silence, Wa Luo could see beyond the physical realm the location where the rocks had moved, the range it had moved, the minute cracks in the wall, and possible explosion range. He could literally hear the rock layers moving, sliding into place. Based on his intuition and experience, the explosives were properly set.

	It was an indescribable sensation… The best he could come up with was how Ebon described it, the feeling of being a Perceptor [1]. 

	When Wa Luo returned to behind the safety line, he had paled considerably. He felt light on his head but he still kept that insolent smile of his. 

	He nodded at Yao Yuan whom returned a similar gesture. Taking in a deep breath, Yao Yuan announced, "Explosion counting down. 3, 2, 1…"

	For those who witnessed it from The Hope, a roiling cloud of dust could be seen floating out of the base’s entrance. The cloud then dispersed to reveal a gaping hole, where there had once been the entrance door…

	It had been 6 hours and 50 minutes since the quake…

	And 16 hours to the big collision…
