Welcome to Beach Read containing nine of Marie Force's single title contemporary romances, all of which have been reader favorites! This is about a boy who gains power from everything he reads. He also has some other issues to deal with, like the chaos, but he is also part of the chaos. His abilities and powers will continue to grow and manifest, but which side will he stand on?

P.S. I am just in 8th grade so don't judge too much, but leave some suggestions or reviews so I can continue to grow as a writer and make the story better.

If someone were to text you a funny joke, how would you react?

In the States, if you're an English speaker, responses are typically, but not limited to: lol, haha, huehue, keke, muahaha, mwahaha, hehe... annnd the list goes on. Not to mention all those emojis. 

In your local friend group (F to those without friends) how do you react to something funny? Just curious. Feel free to comment at the end of the chapter.

I might update this chapter later on with how people 'laugh' from differing countries. That is if anyone actually reads this. 



After reading the upteenth Chinese cultivation novel, tired of the repetitive cliches, I thought to create a fan-fic of a cultivation world I would prefer.

I then realized that would be a great disservice to both you and me because

a.) I don't nearly have enough imagination juice to put forth a decent cohesive story.

b.) It would be a waste of both your and my time aka life.

So apologies to both @KingofEveryone and @whydoineedanamerly, no story from me. Also an apology about the title, it was literally the first thing I saw when I was thinking of a title. 

You may be thinking, "So.. if this isn't a fan-fic, what is it?"

I dunno.

Henry- The next day at school I told a really really short story about a girl on her first date.
STORY-
"In my junior year of high school, this guy asked me on a date. He rented a Redbox movie and made a pizza. We were watching the movie and the oven beeped so the pizza was done. He looked me dead in the eye and said, "This is the worst part." I then watched this boy open the oven and pull the pizza out with his bare hands, rack and all, screaming at the top of his lungs. We never had a second date."
Henry- But apparently that was to short and was not funny at all so I had to tell my next story I had planned out for the next day.
STORY 2-
"Rosie Hall buys a self-assembly, flat-pack, cupboard from her local Homebase store.  Reaching home Rosie reads the instructions carefully, counts the pieces then assembles the cupboard in the bedroom. It looks really great and she is delighted. Now, Rosie lives near a railway line and as the train passes by the cupboard collapses.  Undaunted by this misfortune she re-reads the instructions and reassembles the cupboard.  Once more, another train passes and the whole cupboard collapses again. Rosie now frustrated and thinking that she must have done something "wrong" re-re-reads the instructions and re-re-assembles the cupboard.  Shortly, a train passes and the whole cupboard collapses yet again for the 3rd time. Rosie is now fed up, cross and rather angry so she 'phones the customer service department.  She is told that this is quite impossible and that they'll send along a fitter to take a look.The fitter arrives and assembles the cupboard.  Again, a train passes and the cupboard collapses.  Completely baffled by this unexpected event, the fitter decides to reassemble the cupboard and sit inside it to see whether he can find out what causes the cupboard to collapse.  At this point, Rosie's husband comes home, sees the cupboard and says, 'Oh, that's a splendid looking cupboard,' and he opens it to look inside. The fitter, who had been wondering how to explain his position in Rosie's bedroom cupboard, blurts out, 'You probably won't believe me, but I'm standing here waiting for a train."
Henry- "And that's it for today" The class clapped as I walked to my seat and sat down.

Skylar and Cody sneak past some vampires as they past them in the halls. She turns to Cody. "You forgot to mention that these bandits were vampires!" She whispers to him.
He shrugs. "If I told you than you wouldn't have helped me."
"I know!" She rolls her eyes.
They stop by a corner.
"Look, if anything happens here.." She looks around the corner. "I want you to go to a place called WolfHound. Tell them that princess Skylar sent you. Okay?"
He nods. "Will do." 
"I don't know. I just hate the idea of a human here." A vampire growls as he tells another. Both stood around the corner. 
"There is two here. I probably can take out one but I-"
Cody jumps out in the open. "HEY!"
Both vampires look at him. 
"Cody!" Skylar stands beside him. She looks up at the vampires. "Hi." She smiles at them.
Their eyes open wide. 
"KILL THEM!" The vampires run at them.
Skylar quickly grabs Cody before running away. "What were you thinking?" 
"I wasn't! All I want is my master!" Cody growls. 
Skylar turns a corner. "I can't believe you did that!" She stops when there is only a door in front of her. She looks behind her. 
The shadows of the vampires are seen running toward them. "They went over here!" 
"Ugh!" She quickly opens the door and shuts it behind her. She sits Cody down before looking out at the hallway through the crack of the door. She lets out a sigh of relief when she sees them running away. "Good." She looks at Cody. "Now, lets just find your master and get the heck out of here." 
"Look.." He points to something. 
"What?" She stands up. Looking at the direction he is pointing. Her eyes widen. "Oh.." Rows of prison cells laid in front of them. It was non-ending. 
"What is this place?" He asks scared. 
She looks up. More rows laid above as well. "Well, I'm guessing either this is where they sleep or a large prison." 
"I thought vampires slept in coffins?" He asks her. 
She nods. "They do.." 
They walk forward. 
"Keep to my side." She whispers to him. 
Something snaps at Cody as they pass some cells. 
Cody holds onto Skylar's hand. "No problem with that.." He looks around scared. 
They walk up to a large book. 
She touches it. "Whoa.." She opens it. 
"What is it?" He asks trying to see. 
She flips through the pages. "Its a list of the prisoners..." 
"Prisoners?" He looks at the cells. "So its doing what? Telling us what they did?"
She shakes her head. "Not exactly.." She reads. "Its about what they have.."
"Like what? Skin? Eye color?" He asks her confused. 
"No..more of what kind of powers they hold." She continues to read. 
Cody climbs up on her. Looking over her shoulder. He looks at the pages too. When she flips to a page he stops her. "Wait!"
"What?" She looks at him. 
"Him! That's my master!" He points to the man on the page. 
She reads. "Prisoner 1209 was brought in for testing. Probably has the "chosen power." She raises a brow. "Chosen power?" 
"Master said some people were after him because he had a power that many wanted to do harm." He sighs. "I hope we find him soon." 
She smiles at him. "I promise we will." She rips the page out. 
"What are you doing?" He asks her as he jumps off her. 
She reads the prisoner number again. "I'm going to use the number for him so we can find him. Come on!" She walks off. 
"Oh.." He follows her. 

*Next Scene*

Willow walks with her teenage daughter, Angel, and her newborn son, Cole. 
"Mom, why do we have to come again?" Angel wines. She would rather be at her friends out than out with her mother and little brother. She had long black hair like her fathers, who isn't around anymore.
Willow laughs. "I told you. The school is opening up again and I want to make sure you have all the right magic books." She stops to look at some books outside of the book store. 
Angel rolls her eyes. She spots a cute elf boy winking at her. She twirls her hair. 
"Don't do that." Willow tells her without evening looking at her. 
Angel growls. "I wasn't doing anything." She crosses her arms. 
"You need to at least play them a little before giving in." Willow picks up two books. "I'll take these." She tells the bookstore owner. 
Angel groans. She looks back at the elf boy but is surprised when she sees her cousin Cali, Misty's daughter, flirting with the boy. "How dare she!" She stomps her foot. 
Cali looks over at Angel. She winks at her. Knowing what she is doing. She had long curly dirty blonde hair. She flipped it for the boy.
"That bitch!..." Angel whispers under her breath as she stares at Cali.

*Next Scene*

Kat stabs one guy in the stomach while also hitting heads with another. 
"DAMN IT! KILL HER!" The boss yells as he stands away. 
Kat kicks the guy off her sword. She turns to the one she hit heads with. 
"YOU BITCH!" The guy yells as he stands up, wiping his bleeding nose. 
She walks to him. "You could use some manners!" She goes to slash at him but a shot is heard. She freezes up. 
The guy winces as he waits for her to hit. "Huh?" He looks up at her. 
Kat feels her stomach hurting. "T-the hell?" She looks down at her stomach while also touching it. Blood was on her hand. She slowly turns to the boss. Dropping her sword as well. 
The boss has some kind of weapon in his hand. Pointed at her. "Whoa!" He laughs. "They didn't tell me everything about this but man is it cool!" 
The guy behind Kat pushes her to her knees. "What now bitch?" He walks in front of her. He punches her face. "Not so bad ass are you?" He hits her again. Blood running down her face. "Who needs manners?" He hits her one last time. 
"Calm down chum." The boss walks over to them. "I want to make sure she is still alive when I blow her brains out." 
The guy looks at him. "You could do that?" 
"Oh yeah! They said that this thing can do a lot if you shoot it right!" The boss smiles big as he shows his weapon. 
Kat coughs up some blood. Spitting it out. "What...what the hell is that..that thing?" She shakes her head to prevent passing out. 
"Its called a gun." The boss presses it up against her forehead. 
Kat chuckles.
"Whats so funny bitch?" The guy asks her angry. 
The boss holds him back. "Calm down. I got this! Go clean up!" He orders him away. 
The man walks away angry. 
"Now, whats so funny?" He looks down at her. "Because...I know what will be funny.." He unzips his pants. 
Kat laughs again. "So what? You want me to suck your little cock?" 
He growls. Smacking her with the gun. "Oh yeah. I am. And you're going to listen." He goes to pull down his pants but someone speaks behind him. 
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." 
The boss freezes up when he feels a blade against his throat. "W-what do you want?" 
The person sighs. "I don't know. Maybe get your hands off of the lass?" 
"O-okay" The boss puts his hands up. "See? Off her"
The person smiles. "Thank you." He quickly slices the bosses throat. 
The boss falls down. "Damn you!" He says throw a mouth of blood. He goes to shoot at the person but instead gets stabbed in the stomach. "Ahh!" 
"Why is it so hard for you to die?" The person twists the blade. They see the gun behind him. "Oh. Whats this?" They pick it up. "Looks nice."
"Fuck...you!" The man yells at the person before getting his head blown up. 
"You talk to much, sir." The person had the gun pointed at him. Some smoke came out of the end of it. 
"Shit." Kat falls down on her side. 
The person looks over at her. "Kat!" They rush to her. Bending down. "Are you okay?" 
"No.." She removes her hands to show a gun wound. 
"Damn." The person removes their cloak. "Here. I'll apply presser." 
Kat looks at the person. "D-derek?" 
He chuckles. "Hey lass." He tightens up the cloak around her waist. "Okay. Now lets get you-" He looks down at her and sees she passed out. 

S1- The Queen has gone mad. Its up to a small group of people that were outcasts to join together and stop this evil witch. Just as things have gotten better things change when Wolfhound starts to have new problems and some old ones that won't stay in the past! Follow our heroes in their story.

"Yes. Don't be so judgmental. Just because I have wonderful muscles on display and enough background knowledge to kill a man at least five different ways before they even notice doesn't mean I don't like to read."

Hudson stands, walking to where his bag of clothes sits in my closet. I'm pretty sure he's underestimating the ways to kill a man number.

"It's more than wanting to read it. You have to be able to sit quietly and do it when someone else is in the room," I yell after him. It's a process. One I couldn't do if my brother Alex were still here, but thankfully he headed on his way south again the next morning. Hudson, however, hasn't made it back to sleeping on the couch. I don't plan to complain.

When he ducks out of the bedroom, there's a smile written across his face as he holds up a thick James Patterson novel. Of course it's a James Patterson.

"I didn't take you for Patterson man." I lean back on the couch readjusting myself and opening my Kindle again. This could work. A girl must always keep hope.

Hudson shrugs, sitting back in the chair. He tosses his feet up on my coffee table and gets comfy. "Some of his plot points aren't so far-fetched. Now shhhh," he shooshes me with one finger across his lips. "I got into a good part on the plane."

Psft. Like he thinks I'm going to be the one to interrupt our reading time. The only sound between us for the next twenty to thirty minutes is the noise every time he flips the page on his old-school paperback. He doesn't even laugh at a funny part. Are there funny parts in a Patterson book?

I've never read a Patterson book. I'm not sure if it has any funny parts, but it's still the same. He doesn't make any facial expressions. Who reads a book and doesn't make any facial expressions?

I spend the next five minutes staring at Hudson while he reads, wondering what's going on in his big head. His nice to look at big head.

Too nice.

So nice I could imagine us doing this every weekend. Like a couple.

But we aren't a couple.

I half close the lid of my cover and set it on my lap.

That draws Hudson's attention. For a man who watches my every move normally, give him a book and hasn't looked my way once.

"Why are you looking at me with that expression?" he questions, not closing his book even a smidge.

I shake my head but I have no idea what he's talking about. "I wasn't."

"Yes, you were. You've watched me for the last few minutes without reading."

"Have not." I'm so busted. How does he do that? "You've been reading. How do you know if I haven't been?"

This time Hudson closes his book, making sure to put the cheap paper bookmark on the page to keep his spot. Who uses bookmarks? You're supposed to find the nearest scrap of paper to keep your page.

"Amanda," his head shakes back and forth in disbelief. "I'm always watching you."

"Yeah, because it's your job, right?"

"No, because I can't take my eyes off you."

"Me?"

Hudson chuckles in a quiet fashion like he can't believe I'm so behind on what's going on.

It's not far from the truth. I am pretty far behind. "What do you think of me?" I finally get the nerves to ask.

"Woman, I told you this already. I think you're amazing and beautiful and nice and kind. You put up with those friends of yours, so you obviously have patience," he says the last with a smile and it makes me laugh.

Hudson drops his book on my coffee table and pushes my feet to the side, taking up a spot on the other end of my sofa.

Like we are two magnets, drawn to one another on the couch — and yes, I get how ridiculous it sounds, but I can't stop my heart from experiencing it. I position my body closer to his. "You really think that?"

Hudson breathes deeply, shaking his head twice and leaning closer. He lightly kisses me on the lips. "Absolutely. New Year's Eve was one of the best nights of my life, but the next morning when you went back to acting as if everything was normal, I figured I should run with it. While it was my greatest memory ever, it was also not something normally allowed in my position. I don't want to believe I used my authority over you to influence how you feel."

I smile. "Your authority over me?" Now who's the delusional one?

"Regardless of whether you think you're in danger," he says rolling his eyes, "I don't want to abuse what we have between us."

I sneak my arm around his neck and press my lips against his.

Hudson pulls back a fraction. "I don't want to do anything to hurt you, Amanda."

"I trust you won't," I say before kissing him again.

Our bodies line up and I tumble backward taking Hudson with me. The weight of his body threatens to be too much, but he holds himself up with an arm braced on the back of the couch. There's an excitement that mingles between us as our kisses grow in ferocity. At this moment I want more. More of Hudson, more of this, more of what is sure to come.

I stopped things between us New Year's Eve before they went too far, but it's not something I plan to do today.

Hudson nibbles on my neck and the space behind my ear and I arch my body closer. So much closer. Anything to make sure every piece of us is touching.

Neither of us speaks until I grab at his shirt, doing my best to twist and pull it above his head.

"Are you sure?" he asks between short sweet kisses against my collarbone.

"Absolutely," I answer as easily as he did earlier in our conversation. There's nothing in the world I want more. Him. Me. Us.

He takes off his shirt, allowing it to fall to the floor beside the couch, and I suck in a breath. I've seen his naked chest before, but in the dark of the room on New Year's Eve, I missed the long scar that runs perpendicular to his left shoulder. I trace a finger against the raised skin, but quickly forget what I've been attempting to do when he undoes the top button of my jeans.

"You have a condom?" I ask because I don't. There haven't been many men in my apartment and even less naked ones.

He sucks in a breath, finishing with my zipper. "I'll get one, but not yet," he says as his hand works its way into the space between my jeans and skin. His fingers contact my pubic bone and my entire body jolts in pleasure.

The Next Day 
Watching her move Kroenen kept himself hidden holding on to another rose, seeing her get changed made him plan what he can do to her body to make her perfect in his eyes. 
While he was watching Helga decided on a red dress long enough but letting her ankles show and a nice pair of low heels to give that much more glamour, today was a dance event at the York Hall that is created for a charity event. 
Swing dancing, modern-day dancing, etc is being held there all day and Helga and her friends decide to go early as Mike says ''A good chance to get drunk early,'' 
Come to York Hall for our once a year dance event!!
Starts 10:30 am - 11pm 
Saturday 1st Feb
All money goes to a good cause.
As Helga reads the leaflet she puts on the last things to finish her luck. Putting her gold with Shappire earrings in and drawing her red lipstick on her pink perky lips she is finished. ''Last thing'' she says while grabbing her favorite Perfume Sensuous from Estee Lauder, spraying a few puffs on her neck and behind her ears, she is ready for the energetic day. 


 I'm ready, I'll meet you guys outside the hall. Xx-Helga 
Putting on her faux beige fur coat and her clutch bag Helga steps outside and locks her door, steadily walking downstairs her phone beeps and makes a bell sound notifying her someone has messaged her back in the group chat, finally downstairs she opens her bag and reads the message. 
We all are too heading now meet you soon. Xx-Sasha
Smiling Helga is proud of how organized her friends are lately normally Ekwin or Val is the last still getting ready or better yet forgetting something important like passes to get in so all of them have to make the tiring trackback to theirs to find them. 
'I hope they have everything' she says to herself while replying back,
Good, I've just left and now walking there we all should meet up at the same time unless someone... has forgotten something. Xx-Helga

Whilst Helga was walking Kroenen was behind her watching where she was going 'this is new' he says to himself 'normally she be revising or going to her family' holding onto the red rose Kroenen needs to make sure she receives this before she meets with her friends 'thats if she is meeting them' he says in his mind panicking that she may be going on a date 'I won't let any man be near my angel..never'. Looking at where she is turning he plans to where he can drop it without her getting scared. 
After a 20 minute walk Kroenen finds his chance Helga is outside hardly anyone was arriving at this so-called event as Helga was looking at her phone typing, Kroenen makes a dash and drops the flower on the dip of her foot carefully balancing and quietly runs into the shadows.

And with that, the whole group arrived appearing from the corner of the house as Helga put her phone back in her bag she takes one step feeling a Thorne scrape her skin, ''Ouch'' she says while looking down, 'the red rose' shocked Helga waves the gang over and bends down to pick the flower up. 
''Look guys another one'' she says holding it with the note saying ''For you my angel'' 
''you sure your not winding us up?'' Mike says not believing it, ''I'm sure I just..'' Helga starts confused on why she didn't see anyone place it there nor feel it. Looking around Helga's face becomes white as a sheet ''I think something is more serious is happening not just a funny prank'' she says nervously 
''I think we should cancel today'' Sasha says pulling Helga into a hug ''we can't we are ready and we can't let something stupid ruin the while day'' Ekwin says flailing his arms in annoyance ''and having a stalker is just a stupid thing then Ekwin have you ever seen the true stories of what happened to people who let one ruin their life?'' Val says snapping back at his stupid answer.
''Look guys I'm fine I don't want to cause arguments nor to ruin a day out, let's get inside I'll be alright after a few drinks'' Helga says looking directly at a worrying Sasha ''I promise''
''If you say so, let's get in'' Mike replies turning around and going in with Val, Ekwin, and Sasha following suit, Helga follows in behind them clutching on the flower she makes her last search of who might be doing this, as she quickly glances as a metal fence she sees him, 'The gas mask guy' frozen Helga rushes in. 
''Drinks first dance later'' was the only sentence she could get out as she rushes to the bar. 


'She saw me' Kroenen says holding onto a metal bar 'I'll see you soon Meine Liebe' he says to himself knowing if he could have mind control he would radio that straight to Helga.

Helga Von's life is calm and quiet. But her life takes a change for the better or it may make her life worse.

"Let me show you to your room" kakashi said. I looked at him with eyes you could tell I'm up to no good. I looked around the living room and found the book shelf and kakashi's book he always reads in the anime walked up to him waved it in front of him and turned off the lights. When he turned back the lights his favorite book was gone. And boy was it funny. He lost it, he started scolding me then he panicked. 'he will feel so stupid after he finds it. I bet your wondering where could a three year old child possibly put it. I bet your guessing probably somewhere he could reach it with his height. let me tell you where I put it. It's in his pocket. now we wait. this will be fun.' I thought

Sage was a huge Naruto fan. He loved watching it after school. His home life was ok. His siblings loved to gang up on him. What happens if he is reborn in naruto after meeting a god named Mylo. stay tuned this is my first Naruto fan-fic.
