March

The cold wind is slowly being replaced by a hot and humid air, where it is the general call for one specific vacation for student to take their minds out of studying - Summer.

Although, it's really a bother some ride before the said vacation. In the first week of March, where it is the most busiest week of the month, the preparation to the students exams and finals. Then the next is the submission of requirements, and projects teachers announced within last year. Lastly, it's the practice of the graduation ceremony. 

This month really is the busiest time of the year.

Within the first week, all I do was to procrastinate at home, and do all the lesson reviews at school. It's all nothing but logical, memorising, and calculations. For what I can do the most is the calculation part. I didn't even bother to review everything except for math, to the point where I can use deduction skills in history I watched from documentaries, grammar and vocabularies in novels; and anatomy, biology from slaughter movies. 

All in all, I passed, and atleast have an above average scores.

This leaves to the second week of March, submission of requirements and projects.

Requirements includes all of the activities, assignments, and depends on the teacher, notebooks. Fairly enough, I managed to submit almost everything in all subjects, the only ones I wasn't able to submit was an a assignment or two. Regardless, I passed that as well.

Next are the projects, the most stressful part. Especially if it is the theatre project. Science and history only gave a magazine project that consists with at least two topics that was already been discussed. The mother tongue, and English subjects gave a theatre of either a story from a children's book or an original story. Lastly, PE, Music, arts, and Health subjects, another theatre with a musical production.

In a brief result discussion, the science and history subjects gave a somewhat of a high grade results. English and the other subjects was a class project, since I can't do this by myself, all I did was suggested that I'll be the technical stuff. They gave me the most generic background music in history. Complains aside, I nailed the execution pretty well. Although I did ask the class director to not mention my name to everyone, except for the subject teachers. 

In the end no-one suspected that I did all of that. 
Anyways, the whole class was given a high score in the project.

Then its the third week of march, the graduation ceremony practice. A typical week for organising the graduation ceremony. Section by section is being lined up behind the stage, and one by one a students name was called. Some are practising to not cry over the real graduation ceremony, some just casually talks about their plans in senior high-school.

But for me

I'm bothered by how nostalgic, yet cold feelings.
Feelings like someone left before they graduate...

Did something happened to me in elementary?

I can barely remember anything happened to me since I was a child.
But the fact I felt this before is creeping me out.

"Who are you?" I muttered under my quiet voice.

Pre-Chapters: The protagonist's everyday life in February, valentines day to April

The glacial wind swept through the huge sports field in Kuoh Academy, signs of the coming winter. The sun had been laying low for a while now, and Fall had lasted for just a blink. Female students wore the famous bloomers, much to the delight of the male population of this school, but they were now putting on jackets to shield themselves from the ambient cold atmosphere. Today was sports day, the whole afternoon would be dedicated to further oneself in terms of physical development, or it would be if the Japanese education system wasn't so lacking in this aspect. As much as Japan's culture abhorred anyone different from thin, they didn't put a whole lot of emphasis on physical education.

I watched the students running around the field while their physical education teacher was observing them with... great interest. Mr Kozuki, the sports teacher, was small, obese, and overall disgusting. He looked like one of these teachers from adult anime animation... the kind that forces themselves on students then blackmail them. He had a bad reputation among students due to his appearance, some wondering why someone that was so out of shape was their physical education teacher. I had yet to manage to pin a crime on him, as the man was quite slippery and didn't leave a lot of evidence behind him but I already caught him doing the same kind of activities you would expect from the Perverted Trio that hadn't joined high school yet. 

Kuoh Academy has become a prestigious school that raised the bar for entrance through the roof, therefore most if not all students here were at least from the upper region of the middle class. Some were even heirs of big companies so, in such an environment, blackmail would be extremely effective. If there was some sort of relationship between a student and a teacher, they would immediately blame the teacher, accusing him of **** and ruin his life even if both parties were willing, but that didn't mean the student would get out scot-free in terms of reputation. She would be disowned at best, and simply kicked out at worst. 

I simply couldn't let such evil go rampant among my cute students... Who was I kidding, I probably couldn't care less if this happened, the ones I had an interest on would be able to retaliate with ease since they were either devil or practised kendo and the others simply didn't enter my radar at all. No, in reality, I was currently gathering a dossier on Kozuki's behaviour due to boredom in between classes. Ever since I got a taste of fight, I realized that my pool of interests became smaller and smaller. Teaching was one of the few things that I liked now, but most of my other pastimes were uninteresting to me. 

I noticed that some students were now looking at me. It wasn't shocking considering my popularity in school, although I was extremely tall, maybe too much for some of these women, it was safe to say that I was prime material for them, and my position as a teacher did nothing to stop them from 'thinking' about me, in fact, the chances that it only heightened their fantasies were high. 

Noticing where the looks of the girls running were going, Kozuki snarled and spat on the ground, knowing that the massive English teacher was sniffing around his business. He had yet to manage to blackmail his preys in this school because of him, plus my general disposition and looks made him both hate me and fear me. I simply smiled in his direction, making him flinch back in fright and fall, eliciting mocking stares from the students. As I was about to leave the field, I heard a somewhat sultry voice behind me, from someone I sensed sneaking behind me. " Ara ara Mr Aellias, I didn't know you had such interest in young highschool girl... " 

I sighed but held a smirk on my face. I wouldn't consider Akeno for my peerage, but I wouldn't mind having a fling with her, the problem was that she would get too attached to me and if I had no intention to take her more permanently, it would become problematic in the long run. Her attempts at seducing me were working but simply not working enough so that I would change my original stance on her. Too many things in the canon work made me not wanting a serious relationship with her, and contrary to Rias, I wasn't willing to try and change her. It could be different in the future, as we were 3 years away from canon, but for now, I didn't entertain the thought. 

But that didn't mean I wasn't willing to play along with her. 

" Miss Himejima, I think of you as an exemplary student, thus I would like to know what someone like you isn't in her classroom right now since I know that you are supposed to be studying maths. " I said, smirking, which she reciprocated, knowing that I wouldn't punish her for it. She was too much advanced in her studies for the courses of Highschool, even in a prestigious school like this one. 

" Mr Aellias, I am flattered by your thought of me... but I am not as good as you think, I've been a bad girl recently... " she accentuated her chest by putting her arms under it, and she walked towards me, putting an extra sway on her hips, " I think it is your duty as a teacher to... handle cases like me... " 

Akeno arrived in front of me, and due to my height, she had to crane her head up to look into my eyes. Her head was at the lower end of my chest, and because of this, her hands at the perfect height, as she 'accidentally' grazed my privates. The mirth and lust in her eyes could not be mistaken.

She obviously caught my interaction with her queen, I simply smiled and headed towards her. I knew that nobody was in the surroundings due to my exceptional senses, which took time to be accustomed to, so I could act normally with the Gremory heiress, without putting a mask which quite frankly tires me out. Neither the old me nor this new me liked to play a persona, I just wanted women and fights, although I could now imagine myself teaching people in martial arts. But alas I knew how necessary it was to not expose oneself, even when strong, the people behind you would stop at nothing to take your spot, no matter how immoral their methods could be. 

That was another reason why I wanted strength more than anything else, to be a bit freer in how I interact with others. It was also the reason why I felt so comfortable with Rias. Compared to Akeno which always had a mask on, despite how seductive she acted, Rias felt more natural, her attraction to me, although I could feel that her arranged marriage weighed heavily on her mind, felt more truthfully. I had no doubt that Akeno was interested in my, but she didn't look for men, a boyfriend or something like this, she looked for a pillar, something that I wasn't willing to be for someone I barely met, no matter how much I've seen of her in the show already. 

Rias, on the other hand, didn't seem that much desperate, although she was a bit reluctant at times because of Riser, she at least managed to come off as genuine. Surprisingly enough, even if I was sure that she had heavy suspicions on my identity and my power, she didn't act on it openly and seemed content to simply interact with me. That might be one of the reasons why she started to train so harshly, besides my little speeches, since she knew that if she didn't win against Riser, there would be no future between us, although I wouldn't sell myself so soon. It also seemed like she had planned to fight for her marriage rights quite early, making me wonder why the hell canon Rias didn't lift a finger to resolve her problems by herself. 

Even if her peerage was a bunch of deeply hurt people with a lot of problems, they still held a lot of potential, demonstrated by their astonishing rate of growth. It was nowhere near mine, even without the help of the system, but it was still praiseworthy. After all, they didn't have the help of a cosmic entity that wanted them to fight to death other people.

I reciprocated the cheerful smile she sent me and sat next to her. We didn't do anything together yet, expect to visit together Kuoh multiple times under the pretence that I didn't know much about the city on a Saturday, but our relationship was great and still growing. The original interest grew and the teasing from the beginning became seducing. She didn't know I knew what she was, but I have multiple times implicated that I felt as if something was different with her. Since she did the same with me, we entered some sort of match where the winning conditions are who can uncover the other's identity the fastest. 

It was fun and I didn't have to actively deny everything thanks to this. I didn't know how she, or more specifically how she and her peerage managed to gain that much information on me, but what she discreetly slipped in our conversation was already more than what I felt comfortable sharing until my plans could start. Maybe I underestimated Koneko's senses. 

" Well, what do the most beautiful girl of this campus wants with a boring teacher like me? " I said, a smirk on my lips. Although she blushed, she had gotten a bit used to these cheap compliments, even if she still reacted to them, as she knew I genuinely thought that. 

" I think you underestimate your effects on the female population Mr Aellias. " she closed the distance between us and stuck close to my arm. " I'm not sure someone that can swoon the entirety of the female students of this school is exactly 'boring' " she said, smirking back at me.

" I said, flexing a bit for demonstration, feeling the strain it put on the extremely large suit that barely fit my body. The reaction was what I expected, as I saw her pupils dilated a bit and her breath got a bit more intense. She didn't watch my body for too long, however, since we were dancing around each other, an action like this could be considered her loss if she didn't react. 

" Yes, I think that you may be a bit too good at... capitalizing Mr Aellias. " Her seductive voice sent shivers through my spine. 1. Get all A's. I still want good grades, plus I know it would make my dad happy. 
2. Be more involved in school activities, like maybe join a sport, team, or club. High School has a lot of those compared to middle school and I didn't do much in middle school. Time to make some memories. :)
3. Spend more time with my besties. Even though I want to go out and try new things, they are still my best friends and I want to spend time with them. Even its its studying for stupid school test together.
4. Get a boyfriend. :) Only if dad approves though. Now that I think about I don't know, how he feels about me dating... I'll ask him if it ever seems like a possibility.
5. First Kiss. <3 I know totally depends on number 4, but I can dream. Haha.

But this was expected, judging from his conversation with Aokiji, he could tell that the latter was a gentleman. He was willing to let Masato and Aohi tag along and helped them to pursue Sakai Keiko and Suzuki Aichi. The others must've been lovely people as well.
After all, birds of a feather flock together.
"Kimura, Chiba, did you guys do any research on Akichi High School before coming here?"
"A little bit, but I heard about Akichi High School from a net pal. There was a huge fire outbreak at Akichi High School five years ago. Many had died in the incident," Chiba Shiori brushed a strand of hair from her face. The movement lost the sense of beauty in contrast with her appearance. She calmly said, "Now that the new campus is constructed, the old campus has long been abandoned. I've seen pictures taken by netizens too, that's why I want to come and have a look tonight."
Kimura Kazuki did not say anything, signaling that he did not know much.
Masato exclaimed, "You two are way too reckless, not even doing any research before coming to explore." Especially Chiba, a moment ago, Yamazaki thought Kimura was incredibly daring. He would have never expected Chiba Shiori, who was a girl, to be so bold to come alone as well.
The others nodded along when they heard what Masato said. Seemingly, they knew more about this place.
Aokiji strongly agreed with Yamazaki. He continued, "I had specifically done some research for this activity before I came. You guys probably don't know how the fire broke out five years ago."
They walked toward Akichi High School while listening attentively to Aokiji.
"Akichi High School was located at a remote place, it was a gated school where students would typically live on campus. Mobile phones were prohibited, and should it be found it would be confiscated immediately. This left the students nothing but studying and club activities, basically there was no time for entertainment."
"As time passed, the students became depressed. At Akichi High School, good students were usually placed in Class 1 and Class 2 while bad students were placed in Class 3 and Class 4."
"The incident happened in Class 4 of the second grade. Back then, the students in this class were forcefully sent to Akichi High School by their parents owing to their lousy grades and unwillingness to study. Because they were bored, they gathered and discussed playing a game to enliven their monotonous high school life."
"But one person had to be sacrificed in the game…"


Time travelling from the majestic era after the Recuperation of Reiki, he became Kimura Kazuki, a 16-year-old high school student in Japan, one year before the Reiki Recuperation.

Tentatively, he set out to hone himself to the bone, burning candles at both ends to stockpile resources in preparation for the imminent Recuperation of Reiki. His goal was to be many steps ahead of all humanity when the time comes.

However, it seemed like fate had decided to play a cruel trick on him.

One year later, the Recuperation of Reiki... did not happen as expected.

Members in the visiting group were envious of the hardware equipment in the AP Training Center. However, everyone knew that a provincial training team couldn't afford them and even if they could, they couldn't afford the maintenance costs.
Just like cars, the more expensive it was, the higher the maintenance costs would be. If you bought a luxury car, you would only use the highest octane gasoline to fill its tank.
The guide introduced all the advanced equipment to the group with pride, like a guy who was showing off his fortune. Then everyone was brought to the reception room where they saw David Mills, the head of the AP Training Center.
"You've just seen our training equipment, and I know that you must be eager to see the real training activities here. But I am afraid that you can't see it." David Mills smiled and continued, "You must know that many famous athletes come here and do their training, which they hope can be secretive. Besides, it involves privacy. So, most of training is done in private."
Hearing this, all of them were disappointed.
In America, people cared about their privacy more than people in China. Even if they weren't famous athletes, they didn't like the interruption from visitors.
David Mills said, "Please cheer up! The latest Adidas Basketball Camp will be undertaken by our Training Center. The camp gathers excellent high school students, and it is open to anyone, including coaches in universities, scouts in professional basketball teams, reporters, and you."
There were a number of similar camps in America. Some coaches, even athletes may host their own camps. There was no doubt that Adidas Basketball Training Camp was the one that everyone wanted to join in. Of course, those athletes who could join in this camp were top players from all the schools in America. Therefore, it could attract attention from the media, coaches in universities, and NBA scouts who were eager to find future stars.
Those young athletes joining in the camp can no only improve their skills, but also attract attention. They were happy to have more people observe them.
It was the first day in Adidas Basketball Training Camp. Dai Li saw that black woman on the training ground again who followed tightly the head coach of the Adidas Basketball Camp, Hyde, an old man around 50 years old.
"Mr. Hyde, please give Allen another chance, please!" The black woman begged.
"Mrs. Hampton, I've explained to you several times. We sent out an invitation to your son Allen Hampton before, but he didn't reply to us that he would come to our camp."
"He didn't have his parole then." the woman said.
Mr. Hyde threw up his hand sand said, "Mrs. Hampton, I hope you can understand. Since we've made rules, we must observe them, right? If everyone who came here and asked for privileges got them, our camp could no longer do what we do."
Eventually, the woman left, disappointed.
Sitting in the stand and watching the athletes, Dai Li screamed in his heart, Are these really high school students?
Besides Dai Li, the other coaches in the visiting group showed their surprise.
"Those high school students bear comparison with our professional athletes of the provincial team, right?"
"In my view, they can play in our national lower-level leagues."
"Far more than that! See that guard! What a wonderful breakthrough, and he dunked directly! This guy can play in CBA."
Yet, the American audience looked more at ease. Obviously, they were accustomed to it.
A reporter beside Dai Li, of about the same age as him, kindly introduced the players for Dai Li.
"See the young lad who dunked just now? He is from New York. His nickname is Son of New York. When he was just an elementary student, he could compete with adults in basketball game already. Among high school students this year, he may be listed within the top 3. And he may be the MVP in this Adidas Training Camp."
"Pupils compete with adults!" Dai Li was shocked. He observed this young lad immediately and found he had A-level talent.
"A-level talent is good enough. He is a strong basketball player in America. I don't know the talent of our national professional athletes."
The young reporter continued his introduction, "that lad who did a three-point shot is a leading scorer in Mountain Top High School in southern California, and he helped his school become state champions this year. Although he is only 19 years old, he is a father. So, he is trying to find a school which could provide him with a basketball scholarship."
Dai Li began his observation again.
"He has A plus talent, and he is good at shooting three-pointers. It seems like this athlete will be an excellent shooter."
The reporter pointed to a big guy under the basketball frame. "He is six-feet, nine-inches, and he might grow to around seven feet. He is thin, yet he has a long wingspan. His ball handling skills are just so-so. But he is good at grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. Just some more weight will make him a wonderful defensive center!"
"This big guy has A-minus-level talent who can be counted as a superior basketball athlete in America, not so good as I've imagined. I thought their talent would be higher in America as the country is a top basketball power. Maybe that is the gap caused by training."
Dai Li took a deep breath and thought again, If we could grow up in America where sports are everywhere around us, maybe our achievements in sports wouldn't be defeated by the Americans.
Again, the reporter said, "Those guys I mentioned just now can definitely enter the NBA, even the lottery. But there is one guy who didn't come this time. What a pity."
"Who? Is there anyone who is willing to ignore such a good chance like this?" Dai Li asked with his poor English.
But the reporter knew what Dai Li meant. He said, "Maybe due to injury or something. That guy is Allen Hampton from Holy Land High School. He is not only an excellent basketball player, but also a great football player. He helped his school get the state championships in both football and basketball. In the last season, he averaged 31.6 points, 9.2 assists, and 8.7 rebounds per game. He is a real genius!"
By football, the American reporter meant American football, not soccer.
The reporter continued, "But the genius is a bad boy. It was said that he was sentenced to jail for carrying drugs when he was 15. Then he broke his parole regulations, which resulted in a longer prison term. After a while, leading a group of people to cause trouble got him another prison sentence. His lawsuits succeeded owing to help from The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The coaches of famous universities don't like this bad boy, I guess."


How could a poor graduate student without any background or connections become successful? With a coaching system? An upgrade? This is not a computer game, but real life we’re talking about!
