Bulma finished going over the reports sent by Big Gete detailing the status of the Prometheus Empire. She chose to use the royal palace on Planet Garden as her temporary work space. The Empress was worried about how the situation on Earth was progressing. She warned Raditz and Reiss to contact her if something went wrong. So far, there were no communications from Earth, so things should be progressing smoothly. But she was still unable to shake the growing sense of unease.

A group of Saiyan guards flanked her as she made her way across the bridge leading to the landing platform. She was eager to return to the Menagerie and unwind on the ship. As she walked to the shuttle landing pad, she saw two familiar Saiyans kneeling nearby in her path. When she was close enough to the the kneeling Saiyans, she cheerfully asked them to rise. 

During her stay on Planet Garden, Bulma had become more familiar with Toma and Celipa. The pair of Saiyans were wearing black and red Promethean armor.  Celipa had requested a pink leotard be made because the color wasn't an available uniform under suit color. 

"What do you guys need?" she asked. She hadn't expected to see them at the landing platform waiting for her. "Did you guys want to train on the Menagerie, with Nappa?"

"No, we wanted to know if the Emperor needed any help?" the short haired Celipa asked confidently, crossing her arms.

"Well, Celipa wanted know, I just came for support. I know there is no way a Super Saiyan needs any help." Toma clarified. "I think she's obsessed." 

Bulma smiled and laughed as the female Saiyan quickly turned to glare at her friend. Toma didn't understand what he had said to earn such a glare. It was true that in the last few years most of her conversations revolved around beating the emperor or becoming a Super Saiyan.

"I haven't heard anything, yet." Bulma answered. "I'm about to head to the Menagerie, if you come along, you guys can stay updated."

The pair nodded and followed along to the waiting shuttle. Even though Bulma enjoyed flying herself, recently, she had been using Saiyan pilots. She did this to make sure they understood the operation of Promethean ships. 

The empress had become close with Celipa over the years. She found the female Saiyan's attitude a breath of fresh air. She was completely unconcerned with their status differences, either from brashness or stupidity, either way Bulma enjoyed her presence.

When the shuttle docked with the Menagerie, Toma separated from the two women to find Nappa. Toma found it hard to believe how much the bald Saiyan had changed since the time of King Vegeta. Now he was a respectable member of the Prometheus Empire willing to converse and train with others. Toma had to admit Nappa was thorough in teaching the training methods he learned from Emperor Raditz with those willing to learn. Toma found Nappa in the ship's galley talking with Commander Lime. He knew the two of them had gotten close over the years, which was surprising to Toma.

"Nappa, you guys waiting on word of Emperor Raditz?" Toma asked approaching the table Nappa was sitting.

"No, Lime was telling about me about an outbreak of pirates in the East Galaxy Area." Nappa said.

"The East Galaxy Area?" Toma thought about what Nappa said. "Is there really anything out there?"

"We aren't sure. Most of the information is sketchy at best." the commander informed him. "I'll see you on the bridge later." Lime nodded to Nappa before leaving the table with her tray.

"I guess you must be bored on Garden if you came all the way up here." Nappa probed. Usually Toma stayed on Garden helping to train the younger Saiyans.

"No, Celipa thought the Emperor might need back up." Toma shrugged. Nappa released a hearty laugh at the response.

Bulma and Celipa were sitting in the private lounge outside of the Emperor's quarters on the Menagerie. Celipa listened, wide eyed, as Bulma went over the plans for expanding the empire. She found that the Earth woman's plans were quite far reaching and long term. Celipa understood that the Emperor, or rather the empire, would need as many strong warriors as it could get. Fired up from hearing about the future of the empire, Celipa decided to go train. Bulma allowed her access to the private training rooms.

Commander Lime was sitting at the communications hub, her station, when she received a forwarded communication from Big Gete. According to the message, a Promethean ship, the Shadow, was in distress and needed assistance. The Shadow was tasked with exploring the East Galaxy Area. Its mission was to investigate the pirate situation, while prospecting for resources or new technology. The Menagerie was the fastest ship in the fleet and would be able to reach the Shadow in just a few hours.

Bulma was sitting on a elegantly designed couch in the Emperor's quarters. She was wearing a pink robe and her hair was wrapped in a yellow towel. In her hands was a datapad with her sister's book loaded on the screen. The book was her sister's first bestseller and Bulma had yet to actually finish it. She had gotten over halfway through the story, but she wasn't usually in the mood to read after working through documents all day.

"Empress Bulma," Commander Lime's voice spoke over the intercom.

"I'm here." the Empress responded.

"We've received a distress call from the Shadow." Lime explained, "The Captain would like to investigate."

Bulma considered the request to investigate the problem facing the Shadow. She did want to help if possible, plus they might find something useful. However, she was still worried about what was happening on her homeworld. There still wasn't any word from Earth, and Bulma didn't want to check at a bad time, making the situation worse.

"Tell the Captain he has my permission to investigate." Bulma answered. She was confident Raditz would be fine. He had some of the strongest people she knew helping out against the cyborg threat. 
The Menagerie traveled through the black sea of stars at its fastest speed towards the coordinates of the Shadow. While the ship was waiting in the Garden System, the crew's duties had become more lax. The crew of the ship manned their stations with great bearing and professionalism when the Captain gave the order to move out.

"What the hell are you doing!" Bardock glared at Yamcha. He was ready to blast the Earth man into dust for kicking the cure out of his son's hands.

"It seems the bio-weapon was a success." Yamcha grinned. "Kochin should be pleased by the results of the test."

BAM!

Yamcha was struck by a fierce punch to the face by Bardock. The ponytailed Earthling didn't react to the pain at all. Two trenches were dug by Yamcha's heels digging into the ground as he tried to stop.

"Tsk, Tsk." Tien shook his head from side to side sarcastically, "That wasn't a nice thing to do to your ally."

BAM!

Bardock attacked again this time delivering a bone shattering kick to Tien's midsection. Krillin looked shocked, seeing his friend get blown off of the plateau they were standing on by Bardock.

"What!" Krillin didn't know what else to say.

"Look at their heads! They have gold vein things attached!" Bardock explained as best he could.

Krillin noticed what Bardock was talking about when he looked closer at Yamcha. There were golden vein like wire attachments running from the back of his head to his forehead. Tien quickly flew back and landed next to Yamcha. The pair's eyes glowed golden before they powered up their Ki.

"Gohan, go help your cousin!" Bardock snapped and turned to Krillin, "You up for fighting your friends?" Krillin focused on the job at hand nodded in response.

Gohan obeyed the orders of his grandfather and flew towards Reiss's location. His cousin was doing a very good job at putting up a fight against the cyborg Kochin. He wasn't sure if he could even be of help to his cousin. As Gohan flew, he heard the sound of rock crumbling behind him. When he looked back, he saw that the plateau had crumbled into rubble from the fighters powering up. His grandfather and Krillin were engaging Yamcha and Tien in a mid air battle.

"I'm here to help out." Gohan said as he landed by his now bulky cousin, "What do you need?"

"A distraction." Reiss said without taking his eyes off his foe.

"Do we need to strategize?" Gohan questioned.

"No need, just do what you want and I'll adapt." Reiss answered.

Gohan nodded in understanding and charged his Ki while Reiss and Kochin waited. When he reached his max power, Gohan charged full speed towards Kochin, periodically vanishing and reappearing. The boy stayed right outside of Kochin's reach while he tried to unbalance him.

Reiss watched for a moment before figuring out how to work with Gohan's tactics. When he knew how to proceed, he rapidly closed the distance to Kochin while firing Death Beams at the cyborg. The beams were targeted in such a way that they would narrowly miss his cousin. The beams would appear from under Gohan's arms or legs after he punched or moved. If Reiss was less skilled, Gohan would have died ten times over from the beams.

When Reiss closed the gap between himself and his opponent, he stopped firing the Death Beams and moved on to hand to hand combat. Every time Gohan would dodge Kochin, his older cousin would appear and follow up with a kick or punch to the cyborg. Eventually, Gohan was able to create the opening the blue haired boy was looking for. Reiss moved in with the appearance of performing a twin open palm thrust into Kochin's gut.

PROMETHEUS BUSTER!

Hundreds of tiny orbs erupted from the back of the mammoth Dr Kochin as Reiss jumped away from his victim. The blue haired Saiyan watched as ice began to coat the torso of Dr. Kochin. The cyborg's eyes flashed a multitude of warnings. His body's freezing organ was ruptured, and needed serious repair, along with his energy generator unit. If he didn't shut off all of his body's added functions, he would die. But if he did, he would be too weak to defend himself.

Vegeta's was dancing around, avoiding the life draining grip of Dr. Gero when Kakarot arrived back on the scene. Now that he knew to avoid getting grabbed or firing Ki blasts at Dr. Gero, the fight would be a piece of cake. The prideful Saiyan could feel that all of Kakarot's energy had returned. He must have eaten a Panacea bean. Kakarot looked determined as he transformed back into a Super Saiyan. 

"I'm not done with this guy." Kakarot said to Vegeta.

"Fine. But if you mess up, I will finish it." Vegeta stated before turning to the remaining cyborg. He was wondering why Wheelo was just standing motionless, but it didn't matter to him. The tall haired Saiyan fired a Ki blast at the ground in front of Dr. Wheelo.

"If you are just going to stand around, you can't blame anyone if you get hit by a stray blast." Vegeta taunted.

The glow in Dr. Wheelo's eyes subsided and he focused his attention on the person that attacked him. When Wheelo's eyes stopped glowing, everyone noticed their Scouters reactivate. Not only was Wheelo controlling two people, he was also behind stopping the Scouters. 

"I wasn't 'just standing around' as you said." Wheelo explained. "I was going to kill your friends as the bio-weapon killed your leader."

"What!" Vegeta looked back to see Tien and Yamcha getting off the ground with confused looks on their faces. As far as Vegeta could tell, Bardock and Krillin had fought Tien and Yamcha. All four of them looked worn down from the conflict. 

Raditz was half buried in rubble from being on the plateau when it collapsed. He pressed the button on the side of his Scouter after he saw that it had reactivated.

"Ramen…" Raditz called the Yardratian back. He felt that his Ki was becoming highly unstable and the virus hadn't even reached the contagious stages, which would be worse.

The Yardratian appeared next to the downed Raditz. He was stunned by the battle that was going on, and the condition of his Emperor.

"Don't worry, my Lord, I'll get you out of here." Ramen assured him. The Yardratian brought his index and middle fingers to his forehead and focused on their destination. When he found it, he touched Raditz by the shoulder and attempted to teleport. A spasm of unstable Ki from Raditz disrupted the Yardratian's Instant Transmission.

Celipa had finished training in the gravity gym of the Menagerie and was standing in the shower of her room, letting the warm water pour over her well toned body. She wanted to try fighting on Earth against the new threat, but figured the Super Saiyans had it under control.

BOOM!

The Menagerie was rocked by a massive explosion. The entire ship shook causing most of the crew, that were standing, to fall down. Celipa thought quick enough to float off of the deck to avoid losing her balance.

The enhanced gravity abruptly shut down in the training room where Toma and Nappa were sparing. Red warning rights flashed all around them as they tried to figure out what had caused the explosion they heard. Crew members were quickly moving along the hallways assessing and repairing damage.

On the bridge of the ship, Ramen appeared in a violent blast of light. The Yardratian had fallen to the floor unconscious, he looked wounded and was alone. The bridge crew looked at each other, confused by the situation. As soon as she ran out of the bathroom to grab her under suit to go investigate what happened, she saw Emperor Raditz sitting against the wall in a pool of blood, looking in her direction.

"I know... this is the worst time... but I need your help." Raditz smiled weakly. He was thankful Saiyans had a different mindset when it came to modesty, getting slapped might kill him.

A person from our world dies and is reincarnated in the Dragon Ball universe as the Saiyan Raditz brother of Goku. The new Raditz is determined to leave his mark on the universe and not be forgotten like the original Raditz.

"We have an empress to dethrone!" I said, as I pulled Vegeta up from the ground.

"Yes, yes we do," Vegeta said as he dusted himself off.

"Then, let's go!" I said as I went towards the highest Ki level I could find on the planet.

It was so high, that I couldn't even measure it!

'That power... so, this is what it feels like to be the weakling, huh? I haven't felt like this in ages... you know, it was probably not a good idea to go to the Dragon Ball series with a non-combat power' I thought to myself, 'Eh, who cares? I've gotten this far with it, and I'll go even further beyond, for my family... you know, I never actually thought I'd get attached. But, Kukummer, Piccolo and Launch... I love them with all my heart, and I honestly can't think of a life without them. You know, I probably should've brought Piccolo along to power her up. Ah whatever, hindsight's a bitch...'

After my internal musings, I had finally made it to the source of the ungodly amount of Ki.

Empress Frieza stood there, in her final form. Looking absolutely terrifying.

Vegeta had caught up to me, looking terrified at Empress Frieza as well.

"I-I... how are we supposed to beat that ungodly power level?" Vegeta whispered to himself.

"With teamwork... let's see... she's at roughly... [120,000,000]... god, that's terrifying compared to our combined [2,750,000]... unless I go full power with my Kaio-Ken... then, we'll be at [50,250,000]... Not even half of her Power Level... We're going to have to wait for everyone else to show up and beat hear together..." I said to Vegeta.

"Alright... we'll... wait for Kakarot and the others!" Vegeta said reluctantly.

"We'll do that and we'll use a special ability of mine to... summon others to me. It'll be helpful in getting some support faster, but most of them are weaker than you... other than five of them, but, better an army of... admittedly, weaklings than nothing... I think altogether, they'd be around... [2,325,000]... give or take a bit" I said, as I started to summon all of my Summons.

"Summon: All!" I shouted as I summoned all of my Summons at once.

The Saibaman, Lich, Zabuza, Haku, LT. Hawkeye, Rukia, Chrome, Edward and his army of Androids, Lelouch, L, Erza, Seras, Sebastian, Alucard, Orochimaru, Itachi, Berserker, Queen Piccolo, Groot, Nappa and a few others that I hadn't summoned recently, such as, Saiki Kusuo [500,000], Kimimaro Kaguya [100,000], Kuro Of A Hundred Plans [50,000] and Snare-Oh [75,000]. These were from, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Naruto, One Piece and one of Ben's aliens from Ben 10. A Thep Khufan, a mummy-like alien.

"Now... [Self-Fusion: Erza, Seras, Alucard, Sebastian, Orochimaru, Itachi, Saiki, Kimimaro!]"

And, suddenly. My world was engulfed by pain.

Ungodly amounts of excruciating pain, hitting all of my nerves at once.

Then, it was gone.

And I felt... POWERFUL!!!

All of this power, rushing to me in an instant.

I know that it's temporary, but. This is addicting.

What's my power level at now?

Good. Perhaps, with Kaio-Ken I could actually manage to match Empress Frieza in strength.

At full-power of course.

I'm definitely not going half-cocked.

And I'll use the Summons to fight her soldiers off too.

"Piccolo. My love, absorb all of the Namekians you can down there" I ordered my beloved wife.

"Of course, beloved husband," Queen Piccolo said with a smile, as she left to go absorb the weaklings that somehow came from the same race as herself.

But it was washed away since, As a powerful man, Kuro would have various wives and concubines so it didn't matter.

Kuros black hair flew softly with the wind as a large being appeared. The only being in this Solar System that would dare and rebell against this race.

The demonic human saw the 4 beauties and he licked his lips.

"You! Give up these women and I'll consider not killing you!"

He snorted as he crossed his arms waiting for this pathetic persons response.

He was the ruler in this Solar System, so he had an air of a Noble.

Kuro heard this and his smile turned into a slight grin.

"Question, did you create the technology to hack into the Universe feed? You know that thing tbey use to communicate between themselves"

Sheila nodded and handed him a bracelet.

He pressed a button and a video feed showed up.

Ontop of tbe feed was 2 words

Under it was his name.

As it began to record it could be seen like a broadcast.

People joined from various races around the Universe since they had heard about the human race but they were considerd slaves, they weren't hurt or raped. But they were treated worse then most other races.

"Hello everyone, you might not know me and i don't give one fuck"

As people began to roll in they saw that he was being polite but at the end of the sentence they widened their eye's in disbelief.

"I'm part of the Human Race and now I'll crush anyone or anything that stands in my way. This solar system will not be my last stop. Mark my words, fellow races out in space. Humanity is rising and were comming to exact our long lived revenge. You can't escape, our power is already growing and I can prove it since this tech wasn't brought to me but it was created"

"If you want to challenge me, And im talking about you foges out their. The human race old foges won't tollerate it. Let this be a fair battle between youngsters like me"

Kuro flicked his finger and the Universe Pinnacle Demonic human was blown up into peices.

"Well then if you don't want your people turned into slaves to be used for manual labors, please, save us the trouble and stop. I, Kuro will allow those under a certain being un scathed. I will help them and I support this being, i wish you can let me talk to you. Once more"

Then the broadcast was ended.

Various races leaders were stunned.

People from different Solar system were stunned.

A day passed and they ventured towards all 10 planets in this solar system and conquered it.

Of course Kuro would love to experience a new school life and enjoy life. But, at the moment he had to save humanity and then he would have all the fun he would want.

He had to cultivate to new heights such as a new realm, he had to do this.

Humans were no breaking to Planet realm 1 grade pretty fast, Heavenly Universe Grade 1 powerhouses were now slowly making their way to Grade 2 Heavenly Universe Grade.

Universe Pinnacle Powerhouses were becoming common in the 3 great sects.

The leo sect and clan were now a subsidiary of the Za Clan and sect.

Currently the Inner and Core disiples in the Za Clan were making a break through to Heavenly Universe Grade 3.

But, they were modest. They held a strong instinct to justice.

And so life on the planet was great, the heavens weren't disrupted since if they tried something, Kuro would have to face them which was something the Lower Ranked Heavens would not want.

The mortals were having a lower level cultivation such as Earth and Sky cultivation levels.

Even if they didn't cultivate they would still abosorb the energys in the world and gradually grow stronger.

And as such humans began to have extensive life spans ranging from 500-100 thousand year's.

Of course humans were happier because of this and those power houses were mostly after the longevity.

Few humans had grown to have special unique traits such as Teleportation Magic or Healing and such.

They were then put as outer disiples of the Za sect and nurtured to become a Special Squdran of sorts...

Curently the whole web in the Universe was dumbfounded after watching the Arragant young man.

They only sighed, most races occupied at most hundreds of planets but they didn't have the increase benefits.

They didn't know of this so they didn't feel jealous of something that they had no clue of.

Most leaders just chuckled to this response since they couldn't see through his cultivation.

But, the stronger old foges understood his words clearly. His base of cultivation was near most of theirs so they we're worrying about there people.

Kuro just sighed as he went back to the mother planet. No.1.

[Asteria]: Protect me, you say? You three can't even defeat me, and now you still have the guts to say that you will all protect me? Did all you get concussion when I punched y'all yesterday?

[[[In front of the sickeningly earnest faces of Ex, Cali, and Bur, Asteria was left with no choice but to give in to their request.]]]
[Asteria]: …Fine, you can accompany me right now, but you must not interact with me. You will only interact with me when I want it to happen! Do you understand that?

[Ex]: Yes Mistress!

He returned to the beast park. The next morning, a soldier arrived at the beast park to notify that Her Majesty had summoned him.
This time around, the soldier who came wasn't Shi Hu anymore. It was someone that Ren Baqian did not know. When he reached the beast park, he asked around and found out where Ren Baqian was.
Ren Baqian was about to carry Gungun and play with it. Gungun always tried to struggle free from his hands.
When Ren Baqian saw a soldier arriving, he immediately went forward to greet him and ask, "I am Ren Baqian. May I know why Her Majesty summoned me?"
"Just follow me when I tell you to do so and stop uttering so much nonsense," the soldier spoke with an arrogant tone.
They entered the palace and arrived at the same palace hall that Ren Baqian had come to last time. He did not know what the palace halls in the palace were for but it seemed that the empress liked this one very much.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." Ren Baqian saw the red-dressed empress lying on the couch with her hair let down.
The interior of the palace hall was very cold. After all, two basins of ice were placed inside.
"Come forward and speak. As for you, you can step down now," the empress said with a lazy voice.
Ren Baqian took a few steps forward with his head slightly lowered, waiting for the empress to say something.
"Last time, you said that you have a crop that can be grown in abundance while using only a small amount of land, right? Are you speaking the truth? Or is it a lie?" the empress asked.
Ren Baqian's heart skipped a beat. The last time he mentioned this, the empress did not have any reactions. It was only after talking to Caretaker Shi that he knew Dayao Nation was actually lacking in food supplies. He had been trying to figure what was going on.
Now that the empress asked him about it, he immediately replied her in full detail, "This crop is called sweet potato. It can be grown in abundance using only a small amount of land. Its yield depends on the quality of the land. However, even in the worst-case scenario, at least 3000 kilograms of sweet potatoes can be produced. Furthermore, this crop has one unique strength, that is, it has very low requirements for the land it's growing on. It can be grown on plains or on the mountains. Dayao has a few plains and therefore growing this crop will settle a huge part of the food scarcity problem."
When the empress heard these words, she abruptly sat up straight.
"Are you speaking the truth?" the empress asked in a low voice.
"Absolutely true, I am not lying at all," Ren Baqian replied with his head lowered.
"Where can I find this sweet potato?"
"Your Majesty, you can give me one mu of land near the beast park so that I can grow the sweet potatoes on it. We will be able to see the result in four months' time." Ren Baqian did not dare to say he have sweet potatoes on his hands now and told her he could only get them two days later. It was very easy to make a blunder, and so, he gave her an ambiguous answer.
"Alright, I will approve your request. I will wait for a few months to see if your miracle crop will work or not. If you succeed, you will do Dayao Nation a great service and I will reward you whatever you want. However, if you fail, you should know what the consequences of lying to me are," the empress slowly said.
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. I definitely will not take a risk with my head," Ren Baqian replied.
"You better be." The empress nodded her head.
After finishing her sentence, she laid back down on her couch. Then, she continued, "Didn't you say you know how to tell stories? Step forward and tell me a story."
"Yes!" Ren Baqian took a few steps forward. From his current position, he was able to clearer see the empress. Her elegant, almond-shaped eyes were slightly squinted and her facial expression was calm. At this point in time, her usually fearsome face looked much gentler.
Her red dress hugged her body tightly, revealing her perfect figure.
After Ren Baqian swept his gaze across her body, he lowered his head and began to think of a story to tell her.
Journey to the West? This was his favorite story but he felt that he shouldn't tell her this story. The empress probably wouldn't like a story that involved a monkey creating havoc in the Heaven, right?
How about Outlaws of the Marsh? Nope, he definitely couldn't tell her a story regarding a group of bandits initiating a rebellion.
Dream of the Red Chamber? Nope, he had never read it before.
It seemed that he could only tell her the story of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This was the story that he had the deepest impression of. He had watched the television series a few different times. Even though he could not recall the original text, he still knew how to tell the story.
Other than the Four Classic Novels, he also knew Legend of the White Snake and Butterfly Lovers. As for the rest, he couldn't remember them.
After deciding on Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Ren Baqian cleared his throat and said, "Your Majesty, now I will tell you a story that happened during the ancient Han Dynasty of China."
"East flows the surging Yangtze River. Its rolling waves have washed away all the heroes. In the blink of an eye, our rights, wrongs, gains and losses are all in vain.
However, the green hills are still here. How long more can we enjoy the rosy setting sun? 
A grey-haired fisherman stands on the riverbank alone, he is used to the wind of spring and the moon of autumn. He has a joyful reunion over a pot of rice wine.
 All the things, past and present, are retold with nothing but peals of laughter!"
After Ren Baqiain finished reciting Linjiangxian, the empress opened her mouth and said, "Even though it sounds quite good, it feels slightly depressing." 
Ren Baqian smiled. Then, he began to narrate the first chapter, "Three Heroes Swear Brotherhood In the Peach Garden; One Victory Shatters the Rebels In Battlegrounds".
Every now and then, the empress would ask Ren Baqian about the characters, such as, Shi Changshi, Zheng Xuan, Lu Zhi, Gongsun Zan, etc.
When Ren Baqian began to explain and the empress heard the word "eunuch", she commented, "I heard there are eunuchs in the imperial palace of Great Xia Nation. As the ruler of Dayao, I can't possibly defile the citizens of my country."
When Ren Baqian mentioned Empress Dowager He and Empress Dowager Dong, the empress asked with puzzlement, "Why can't women participate in politics?"
"Hmm, during the ancient times of China, women aren't allowed to participate in politics."
"Behead those who have objections until no one dares to say anything. This method work will definitely work," the empress remarked with disdain.
Ren Baqian felt this statement made sense after thinking about it. Someone in the history of China indeed did just what she said and succeeded. It seemed like this empress shared common sentiments with Wu Zetian[1 .Wu Zetian - First empress in the history of China].
During the afternoon, after the empress finished her lunch and Ren Baqian drank some water, the latter continued his story.
In the beginning, the empress kept on interrupting Ren Baqian. Eventually, she did not say anything more and listened to Ren Baqian's story attentively.
For the rest of the day, Ren Baqian narrated 11 chapters. He narrated how Liu Bei saved Kong Rong and how Lu Bu defeated Cao Cao.
His tongue and mouth were dry, but he was still very energetic. All along, he loved Romance of the Three Kingdoms very much, but he seldom discussed it with other people. Now that he met someone who had never heard the story before, he could finally express his love for it. The more he told the story, the more excited and engrossed he got.
Eventually, he even began to pace up and down while making hand gestures occasionally.
The empress did not mind his antics at all. She found his dramatic gestures to be extremely amusing and her lips curled into a smile. It was a pity that Ren Baqian so was immersed in the world of Romance of the Three Kingdoms that he failed to notice her smile.
Beside the empress, there were two palace maids. Even though they did not make comments or give opinions like what the empress did, they were enchanted by the story. They gritted their teeth in excitement as the story progressed. After listening to the story for only a while, they already beamed with happiness.
Very soon, the sky darkened. Ren Baqian finally stopped talking when he saw the color of the sky.
"This story is rather interesting," the empress said. Following which, she told Ren Baqian to go back first and continue the story tomorrow
Ren Baqian was stunned when he heard these words. Tonight, he was going to go back to Earth. How could he continue the story tomorrow? He hurriedly said, "Your Majesty, tomorrow I have to make various preparations for the cultivation of the sweet potatoes, and I still have to clear a plot of land for it. After all, food supply is the cornerstone of a great nation. We can't depend on those unscrupulous merchants anymore. Right now, obtaining a reliable food source is of the utmost importance."
The empress looked at Ren Baqian with a fascination. Then she said, "What you said makes sense. Our citizens' livelihood is a matter of the utmost importance now. Tell you what, you will go back and prepare your so-called 'sweet potatoes' first. After you are done with them, come back and continue the story for me. And don't forget your bet with my imperial kitchen."
The two palace maids looked at Ren Baqian with a lamenting look in their eyes. He was just getting to the climax of the story.
They hoped Ren Baqian could come back earlier to continue the story.


In a world where its inhabitants can destroy a city wall single-handedly, the empress has a kirin as her pet, and the imperial palace of Great Xia has a pool containing a dragon. There is also a Sword Mountain where spirit swords occasionally leave in search of a master .

Deep Within Time: Origin of the Knight

Third Person's POV

A little five year-old girl was sitting parallel to the mirror while a beautiful woman combs her long hair. "Mahiah, sit up straight for me, will you? Mother is having a hard time combing your hair," said the woman who handles the little girl's hair. The Princess then, sat up straight so her mother would be comfortable. 

At a young age, the Princess was referred to as the epitome of a noble young lady for she possesses all the qualities that a noble girl should hold. Her steps would always be gentle as if walking into thin ice. Graceful movements comparable to a swan's have earned her such a title.

Her long black hair, bright purple eyes, cheeks filled with a rosy color, lips shaped like a bow and the strong yet angelic features she possess made her beauty evident at a young age. An asset that she got from her grandmother's extraordinary blood lineage. She has an aura that attracts a lot of attention. They would tend to her needs, slice her food into pieces so she wouldn't have a hard time eating.

Nevertheless, she still has a golden heart and a helping hand for the needy. She needs no crown to prove herself, her aura itself speaks of grace. "Mother, can you tell me a story before I sleep? Isa lang," asked the little Princess. A curve stretched upon the woman's perfectly shaped lips and her gold eyes glinted with adoration for the young girl.

"Matatanggihan ba kita?" The Princess giggled and clung her arms on Empress Milena who stroked her hair a few more times before tucking her into bed.

"What do you want to hear, little dove?" Empress Milena tucked herself in the bed and laid beside her daughter. She used her arm as a pillow and combed her hair by running her fingers from the scalp to the tips of the princess's hair to help her sleep. 

The little Princess heaved a sigh, a little exhausted for the long day she'd spent with her brother-running along the halls of the palace. She immediately felt comfortable in her mothers arms but before her mother spoke, the screeching of the door suddenly echoed across the room making their heads turn.

Upon their exerted effort, two heads peered at the small opening of the door. One belongs to her father, and the other one was her brother sporting a grin upon his face. "Milena," the Emperor called. They both smiled and welcomed them with open arms. 

Mahiah stood up and jumped to her father's arms to welcome him with a tight hug.
"Father!" the Princess squealed in happiness as her father carried her and twirled her up in the air. The wind was touching her face as her father spins to make it seem like she's flying.

"Demetrios!" the Empress scolded her husband for not being too careful with handling the Princess. But in the meantime, she just let it all go with a soft chuckle. The princess's brother namely Prince Dmitri ran to the Empress's arms and made himself comfortable by using his mother's lap as a pillow. The weariness of the young Prince was evident for the young prince was already yawning from exhaustion.

"Palagi ka na lang pagod kalalaro kasama si Mahiah. Your sister had you wrapped in her fingers every time." The young prince just yawned as a response.

Dahil sa ingay ng mag-ama, hindi naging komportable ang Prinsipe habang nakahiga sa hita ng ina kaya't kaagad na napatigagal ang dalawa nang nagsalita ang Emperatris at parang tutang lumapit sa kama para mahiga. "Pero, ina, iyong kuwentong ipinangako mo." The Emperor chuckles at the Princess's cute and sleepy voice before tucking themselves to bed. 

"Are you staying here for tonight?" In the princess's purple eyes, a beam of hope gleamed. "Why? Scared of the monsters?" tukso ng Prinsipe sa kapatid.

"You're face is scarier than the monsters," said the Princess using a tone drained of emotions.

"Mahiah"-pinitik ng Emperatris ang noo ng anak-"you won't get any stories tonight."

Kaagad pumulupot ang maliliit na braso ng Prinsesa sa beywang ng ina at naglalambing na ibinaon ang mukha nito sa leeg ng ina. "I'm sorry, mother. I want to hear a story, please?" Milena sighed and ruffled her little dove's hair.

Demetrios sighed and shook his head before commenting, "Should I be jealous, Milena? They love you more than they love me. I'm supposed to be their favorite, I spoil them more." 

Milena threw her head back in laughter before answering, "And I love them more than I love you." The Emperor rolled his eyes making the Empress laugh more. 

"I'm just kidding, you don't have to be so depressed." Milena pressed her lips against Demetrios and heaved a sigh full of satisfaction. The kids saw what their parents did gaining an immediate disgusted reply. 

"Don't look, it's bad for the eyes!" The Prince covered his sister's eyes with a hand and did the same to his eyes. Demetrios pulled away and flicked Dmitri's forehead and heaved a sigh. 

"Can we finish the story by sunrise?" says Milena, still trying to hold back her chuckle. Kaagad umayos ang dalawang magkapatid at kinumutan ang sarili.

"We're ready," sabi ng Prinsesa habang magkatabi sila ng kaniyang kuya at nakatingin sa kisame. Papikit-pikit na ang mata ng dalawa ngunit pilit pa rin nilang nilalabanan ang antok sa pamamagitan ng mahinang pagtampal sa kanilang mga pisngi. 

Ang kuya niya'y bigla na lamang kumurot sa kaniyang magkabilang pisngi at iniunat-unat pa ito, dahilan na mawala ang antok ng Prinsesa. Ngunit agad itong umani ng isang bayolenteng reaksiyon mula sa Prinsesa. Kaagad tumayo ang Prinsesa at tumalon upang daganan ang kapatid na hindi nakaiwas sa pagbagsak niya sa sikmura nito. Naalarma ang mag-asawa at kaagad pinaglayo ang dalawa.

"Stop it or else your mother would not tell you the story. Hindi rin kami dito matutulog. The monsters will chase you." Their father threatened to leave so the siblings went still and hurried to go back in place like being chased by a dog. Nagkaroon ng sandaling kapayapaan na binasag ng tawa ng Emperatris bago tumingin sa asawa na humihingi ng pahintulot bago magsimula.

"Ano ba ang gusto ng Prinsesa ko, hm?" Hinimas ng Emperatris ang buhok ng dalawang anak at hinalikan ang mga ito sa noo. "My favorite! The origin of the Knight!" 

The Empress look hesitant for a moment but the Emperor held her hand and assured her. The Empress sighed before starting the story. 

"Once, there was a beautiful Princess who lived in a castle built with marbles as white as pearls and all things forged with gold. Pixies would come to her balcony and fix her hair, artist would draw and admire their palace; and minstrels all over the land would make songs about the beautiful castle and the Princess who lives there."

They ruled a land full of abundance. The land was fertile, caves filled with gems and gold, and the sunlight seems to shine more brightly over the kingdom. Having a lot of power, they felt like they have to influence their neighboring kingdoms with their beliefs. Hearing people's demands, the royal family agreed by sending missionaries in the neighboring lands, colonize them and leave them if they're ready to be an individual land. The Princess-being an adventurous bunch-decided to join the expedition."

"Are your ears made of steel? We've hear this story for like a thousand times!" reklamo ng Prinsipe. "Shut up! It's better than your favorite story!"

"What's wrong with The Turtle Who Turned into a Dolphin, huh?" Napakamot na lamang ng ulo ang Emperador sa ingay ng magkapatid. "Everything!" Sasagot pa sana si Dmitri ng pitikin ng kanilang ama ang mga noo nila at sinuway ang mga ito. Kaagad na humingi ng tawad ang magkapatid at nakiusap na ituloy ang kuwento.

"Her parents did not agree at first, but because of the princess's persistence, they agreed only with the assistance of their most trusted soldier. Setting off to an adventure, they are to cross rivers using vines that hang on the tall trees; climb high walls that would welcome them with arrows and swords; and hopping from one oasis to another to quench their taste. It was a tough adventure, yet the soldier promised to protect the Princess at any cost. Going through the hard stuff, both of them got closer, bearing significance in each other's heart in each day that passes. Little did they know, another mountain was about to cross their path."

A mountain that they cannot split in two. The soldier protected the Princess from the monsters thinking they'd be safe, but the soldier's life was in vain. Nigh! Night! Night!"

She chanted his name and her hand was pushing his chest to keep him alive! Tears glistening in her jaw as she cry for his life. She doesn't want to go back, not without the soldier who helped her in that tiny expedition. But in the soldier's last breath, he made her promise. He made her promise that she would go back to their kingdom and raise the flag that they carried for the glory of their kinsmen."

She agreed and returned with a heavy heart. And standing in front of her people, she gave honor to the soldier by creating the Quadrumvirata. The Thinkers who possesses unthinkable philosophies, arts, and creativity..."

"The Sorcerers, masters of magic and all oddities..." dugtong ng Emperador.

"The Swordsman, commander of brutality and endless endeavors..." sabi ng Prinsipe bago magpakawala ng isang malakas na hikab.

"The Knights, master of all ethnicity, holder of all special abilities, and the top of Quadrumvirata...." pagtatapos ng munting Prinsesa sa kuwento na sinundan ng matinding katahimikan. 

Akala nila ay tulog na ang mga ito nang magtanong ang Prinsesa habang humihikab-hikab. "What's our ethnicity?" The Prince's half-hooded eyes looked at the Princess and answered, "Knights. Now sleep."

"When will I know if I really am a Knight?" Hindi pa rin tumigil ang Prinsesa kahit na pinapatulog na ito ng kaniyang kapatid.

"At the age of seven. At that age, your power as a Knight starts to show," said the Empress. The Princess nodded and kissed them all goodnight before snaking her arms around her brother and slept.

Demetrios took Milena's hand and kissed its back and kissed her goodnight. "Goodnight as well, husband." With a big smile in their faces, they drifted to sleep. But as the saying goes, happiness comes with great despair as it is for love and hate. 

The morning came, their greatest nightmare is about to begin. Milena woke up and found his husband and son sleeping on the bed, but not her Princess! Milena stood up and went straight to the bathroom to check if her daughter's inside, she asked the guards if they saw her leaving but they reported that no one left the room the whole night. 

She ordered the guards to look for her daughter and came back to the bed to wake Demetrios up. "Demetrios! Demetrios, wake up!" The Emperor opened his eyes and smiled but it instantly perished when he saw his wife's cheeks sparkling with water.

"Sweetheart, why are your crying?" Dali-dali itong bumangon at pinunasan ang luha ng asawa. Lalo lamang itong humikbi na siyang ikinataranta ng Emperador. Naalimpungatan naman ang Prinsipe at at kinapa-kapa ang katabi niyang puwesto ngunit wala siyang nakapa.

Binuksan niya ang kaniyang mga mata bago isigaw amg pangalan ng kapatid. "Where is she?" Nanginginig ang labing tumingin ito sa ama na ngayon lamang nakuha ang dahilan nang pagtangis ng asawa. Kaagad niya itong inalo at sinabihang mahahanap din nila ito at nagtatago lamang ito sa mga sulok-sulok ng palasyo. 

But he was just playing brave, he was worried with his daughter. The Prince rose up and went running down the halls to search for his sister. He went to their favorite places but to no avail, Mahiah was nowhere to be found. 

He went to the throne room where his parents are shouting orders to find the Princess. With tears in his eyes, he lets his small body collapse on the floor full of filth from the shoes that goes in and out of the hall. "Dmitri, come on, this is no place to sleep." Binuhat ng Emperador ang umiiyak na anak at nagbiro pa ito upang mapatawa ang bata ngunit lalo lamang itong naluha.

"We were just playing and teasing each other, and now she's gone. Kasalanan ko ama, inaway ko kasi siya kaya siya umalis." Hinimas ni Demetrios ang buhok ng anak na sinisisi ang sarili. Natawa na lamang siya dahil sa rasong naisip nito.

"Your sister is not that low, okay? She loves you, trust me." The Prince didn't listen and he just sobbed in his father's shoulder. Months have passed and they still haven't found the Princess. Those are the most depressing months for the family.

But one day, she came back to the castle, full of wounds and sobbing hard. The family was delighted by her return. She was welcomed with marching bands and large banquets but no one knew that it was her last moment of freedom.

Two weeks passed smoothly with no much noise or drama.

The imperial examination hall witnessed a hundred and something candidates taking medical examination as the emperor sat as one of the invigilators.
Health is wealth they say which the emperor believes, this exam, if left in the hands of his corrupt officials will impede his intentions of selecting physicians with skills not status or wealth.
Finally, the results were out and those that passed were called. 
Due to segregation, female were few . Those that passed the preliminary exam were also few.
The list were called out, 5 women emerged victorious while fifteen males also passed. For the females, it was a total victory for only 10 enrolled for the exam.
As the chief invigilator, the emperor gazed warmly at the quiet looking young girl who emerged second best after a male. She's probably the youngest of the lot but talented. The question she picked was the most difficult yet she didn't waiver but tried her best. Her earnestness brought joy to his heart and he scrutinized her seriously.
"My child", he said to the girl," which family daughter are you?", he looked at her sincerely while eagerly waiting for her answer. She hesitated , totally baffled at the emperor's interest in her.
"Oh ho! How dare you ignore the emperor's question!", one of the officials barked at her angrily. She fell on her knees and apologized.
"Your Majesty! this lowly one asks for forgiveness. I was momentarily astonished that the son of heaven will take notice of this filthy one! This lowly servant is from the family called Kim of Jeondo province", she kowtowed fearfully with the impression that she might be punished heavily for lack of respect.
"Haha ha ha ha ha!", his laughter echoed inside the hall. "Child, are you trying to disfigure that pretty face with kowtows?", he asked playfully clearly amused at the girl's behavior.
She froze, why would the emperor take notice of her beauty. The officials were also stunned but didn't read deep meaning into it. After all, it's a known fact that apart from Consort Ki, he has no interest in women. But they were shocked silly with his next action. 
She stopped kowtowing but kept kneeling, daring not to raise her face until she saw a dragon embroidered burgundy coloured  shoes in her visage. Slowly, she looked up to see a Jade ornaments dangling from a red robe , following a golden dragon embroidered on the robe, she dared not look again as she fell on the ground to resume her kowtowing.
"My child, are you trying to turn me into a villain?", he teased her again.
"I dare not!", she cried.
She saw a hand outstretched to raise her up, on her gown she rubbed off an imaginary dirt before placing it meekly in the outstretched hands. 
"You did great and I'm proud of you", he said as he raised her up.
"Bestow her with 50 golds and a hundred bolt of silks", saying that he turned to look at her again, "What is your first name?"
"Myung OK, your highly esteemed"
"You truly are a bright pearl as the name implies... You will do great!". After giving few more words of encouragement and instructions he left.
The hall was thrown into chaos and confusion. Is the emperor finally about to welcome a new concubine they asked themselves.
The female candidates looked enviously at the girl who received the emperor's favour. One of them who couldn't contain her jealousy threw out a sarcastic comment, "Well, if I have the face of a female fatale or a hundred old fox, even a god won't escape my charms".
The officials hurriedly bestowed on her the emperor's gift and led her personally into her quarter, she was to share with another but they left it all to her.
The emperor's heart seemed to be stirring and they dare not compromise.

Dressed in a plain white robe without any accessories or adornment, Princess Eun-hye sat dispirited in front of a royal physician.
A white short hanky was placed on her wrist as he took her pulse seriously and with full concentration.
"No need for formalities, remove the handkerchief and continue properly", she said weakly, her faced waned.
"Yes your highness, then this one will dare be disrespectful". He did as he was told and continued his diagnosis.
After few minutes, his face which she watched carefully broke into a smile making her fragile heart sink.
"Congratulations your highness, you are with child".
"Bingu!", a voice rang out before the door opened to usher in the empress full of smiles . 
"My child, congratulations! We are blessed". She rushed to hold her down as she made to rise up.
"Sit gently, now tell me what you want to eat... this mother will personally ask the palace best chef to prepare them", her smiles grew wider making her spirit lift. Her heart warmed up that at least someone will be happy to share in her news.
"Imperial mother, I'm fine... I just finished eating", she replied gently not to dampen her enthusiasm.
"Really?", she nodded. "Then do you crave any particular thing? sour things, sweet things, spicy or anything at all?".
"No imperial mother, I'm just a little bit sleepy nothing else".
The empress turned to the doctor and ordered a reward for him before telling the crown princess to accompany her share the news with the crown prince.
But she shrunk sensitively from making her secret known.
"No mother, don't tell him", she shivered as she held the empress hands tightly, "He doesn't recall what happened that night". 
The empress signaled for the physician to leave with the warning to castrate him if news of the crown princess's pregnancy leaks.
"What do you mean?". Now that she recalls, the crown prince didn't lash out at her neither did he confront her.
"I don't know exactly what happened", she said but the empress found it absurd. Maybe it's her voice, but somehow she didn't believe her but she didn't bother to find out what happened.
"How long do you plan on keeping it a secret?... Your pregnancy is the palace's biggest news and celebration and won't stay secret for a long time".
"As long as I can", was her short reply.
The long wait of not telling anyone this news might kill the empress but she decided to agree to her request.
"Palace physicians has been chosen, I will investigate them before sending one of them to take good care of you secretly", she finally said in resignation.
"No need, imperial mother... I already have a physician in mind".
"Who?, imperial physician Dong?", the crown princess shivered slightly but regained her composure. 
"Yes, he's my father's friend".
"I know, but we should have requested for a physician higher in rank than him. All the same, I will appoint him to take care of you. We need someone we can trust to keep the secret safe".
After few more exchange of kind words and instructions regarding pregnancy, she left to wrap up things on her side.
"Seja doesn't remember?... is it a good thing or a bad thing?", she asked herself on her way out.
"How long will it remain a secret ?".

He wasn't a cold-hearted beast, he just loved one woman who was a childhood sweetheart. Empress seat doesn't appeal to him if she's not the one and he swore to make her one.

She went for revenge but found out it's been all a misunderstanding. The bastard that seemingly betrayed her was actually the emperor.

Hongyue gasped in delight at the Empress's generous offer. The eldest miss's face was slightly flushed, and her eyes sparkled. She looked like a child receiving her present, completely elated. 
She set the spoon in her hand down with a loud clank, and she stood up at once. 

Meanwhile, many of the ministers and court ladies were baffled by the sudden change in treatment. The girl they were once laughing at suddenly shot up in favor, this left a bitter taste in their mouths. Nevertheless, some of the more senior court ladies merely kept their heads down as if they knew of what would happen.

The eldest miss's feet made its way quickly toward the direction of the empress. As Hongyue walked, she passed where the third prince was sitting. Just as the sleeve of her robe happened to brush by Jiayi's chair, her right wrist was suddenly gripped tightly by iron-like fingers.

Hongyue's feet stopped.

Jiayi's right hand had long abandoned fiddling with his teacup and was now on her wrist. His left hand was tightly clutching the armrest of his wooden chair. His hair had somewhat covered his eyes, and no one could read what he was thinking about.

Finally, he looked up, and Jiayi gave a forced smile to the empress. The empress narrowed her eyes. Why did he interfere? When did he become so bold?

"This prince thinks it's unfair for Hongyue to receive a gift. After all, it's probably a reused story she was probably told. It is unworthy to be praised," Jiayi voiced dryly.

Hongyue clicked her tongue.

Nonsense.

She made the story by herself. What reused story? She purposely took the time to create it. Her eyes studied his face. Was this his way of trying to shield her? This wasn't the time.

Hongyue gave a short giggle, "Third Prince, you're mistaken. This miss is too stupid to memorize stories told to me by others. This story is from a dream I had last night. Although I couldn't remember the full details, I made it up as I went."

After her words left her lips, she could feel his fingers tightening painfully around her wrist. Hongyue's eyes turned dark. Was he this afraid of her going up against the empress? She wouldn't have known if not for his increasing strength on her wrist. She flipped her hand with her sleeve and pinched his arm, leaving the pale surface with a dark bruise. Just because Jiayi couldn't go against the Empress, doesn't mean she, Hongyue, was backing down!

Jiayi's fingers didn't loosen. Instead, they squeezed harder, and Jiayi's eyes darkened. Out of the times she chose to be playful, she chose this time.

She really couldn't afford to upset the empress. From her seat, the empress cupped the side of her face with her left hand, her fingers set against her jaw gracefully, "Since the eldest miss said she was the one who made out the story, then it's only right she gets a reward for her hard work. Why are you blocking her? Do you, perhaps, not like the eldest miss? That's no good. Be more accepting of normals."

Jiayi's eyes darkened. This calculating woman!

With the Empress's words, the emperor looked at Jiayi with disapproval. The third prince could only let go of her hand. Nonetheless, he stared stiffly at the carefree Hongyue who walked past him. Hongyue tilted her head up and gave the empress a bright smile, one so pure the empress couldn't seem to find the strength in herself to muster one back.

This eldest miss was genuinely irritating.

The empress gently removed one of her earrings, her fingers moving carefully and delicately.

The string of green was captivating to the eyes but cold to the soul.

Hongyue reached out her hand to receive it when the earring seemed to slip past her fingers, dropping to the ground. Although it shouldn't have been a problem for Hongyue to catch the falling jewelry, Hongyue made no effort to move. Her eyes merely lazily followed the falling jewel and watched the string of green shatter into pieces. The Empress looked shocked, she didn't think Hongyue was going to ignore the falling jewelry like that. 

Jiayi stood still. He was just as surprised at how easy it was for Hongyue to dodge the first trap like that. It was so simple, it slipped his mind.

"Well," Hongyue pushed out her hands again, "Where's my prize?"

Did the eldest miss not see the shattered jade on the floor?

Such an ability to be so bold! Truly admirable!

However, the empress looked lost. Her eyes were focused on the broken earring. Hongyue waited patiently, her hands still outstretched. However, she couldn't help holding back a laugh.

There was the thin sheen of grease of the earring, but it wasn't invisible. While it may be hard for someone else keeping hold of it after catching it, Hongyue wouldn't have any issues. It was just, how to say it—she simply didn't want to try.

So why not just watch it fall.

The jade shattering could not be too different from the Empress's heart right now.

Throughout the kingdom, who doesn't know the eldest miss of General Wei's family is completely useless? Without any powers along with her mentality of a child, Hongyue is mistreated and used as a pawn. However the mistreatment goes too far and the seemingly useless child slowly starts to awaken her claws, her heart bloodthirsty. With a new soul in place, she turns the whole world upside down.

*Inspired by typical Chinese reincarnation novels however it's baked with more than just one little twist. I wanted a novel that different and not as predictable as similar novels. It's my first time writing so there might be potholes but I'll try my best. This will be similar yet different in terms of approach. I'm a big fan of weak to strong novels but if you tell me that once amazing killer suddenly amounts to nothing in a new world with her personality turned all sweet, I'll have to double check myself.
