The Orion Enterprise annual meeting was held at a large baseball park which seats more than 40 thousand people. With employees and selected partners and VIPs attending, about quarter of the seats was filled. It was very impressive.
To everyone's approval, a lot of freebies were handed out. Everyone at the entrance got a stylish backpack with a program, and several items such as water bottle, pens and notepads, everything was embellished with Orion Enterprise logo. Besides that, in the hallway, people were handing out items such as t-shirts (you can pick your size), coffee mugs, fridge magnets, and there were even baseball mitts. On the seats they were greeted with scarfs, baseball hats, large foam hands and pom-poms, colors represented: white, blue, and gray. Those are colors shown on Orion Enterprise logo. Seeing the amount and variety of freebies, all people lit up and the good atmosphere rose by few degrees.
Meeting was hosted by two MCs who are popular in entertainment industry. It was obvious that they knew what they are doing by the way they engaged the audience. There was number of bands which performed at the beginning, and they were slated to perform during brief intermissions as well. 
JoAnna and Sarah were with Jeff and Aiden in VIP seats, occupying private booth with a good view while snacking on popcorn and peanuts. In the VIP areas large television screens were showing what is happening down on the stage, so even if you don't look down there, you couldn't miss it. They also got a lot of freebies, and Sarah and JoAnna inspected them while praising Sophia's attention to detail. There was something for everyone. Sarah was impressed with a portable battery charger which is small enough to fit in the palm, yet so powerful that can jump start a car. They discussed if this is something that Felix designed or not.
Sophia was the first speaker, thanking everyone for coming and wishing them to enjoy the event. 
During Sophia's welcoming speech Sarah and JoAnna overheard talk from people below their VIP booth. Three men commented how their CEO is good looking. As men below went into details about Sophia's appearance, Sarah and JoAnna agreed how it's sad that after several years of leading the company into record profits, people still saw Sophia as pair of long legs and plump chest.
"Not all men are like that.", Jeff had to interject.
"But most of them are.", JoAnna sadly said. 
Jeff and Aiden could only silently agree with this. They have witnessed their beloved girls more than once in similar situations, no matter how much they tried to protect them. 
All three Hill sisters experienced some level of mistreatment by men who think that women are objects to be used and not worthy to be on the top. JoAnna could not forget Dr. Light, and Sarah remembered her recent encounter in Las Vegas with Akmal who looked down on women in general.
Jeff and Aiden expressed their desire to help.
Sarah was touched by their sincerity. "You are already helping, by showing others how to treat women." 
All four of them wished they can fix the situation, but is there anything else other than educating people and leading by example? It is not something that can be easily solved.
After Sophia's speech the event officially started. MCs took the stage and introduced first presenter. 
Isabella was next to Sophia and she was very impressed with the overall atmosphere. It all looked nice and polished on the stage, but behind was chaotic with presenters mixed in with technical staff and entertainers scrambling to get ready and make sure everything is working as expected. Leah was skillfully navigating between those people behind the stage and giving out instructions which kept everyone in order.
Isabella was very happy when during one presentation she managed to get autographs from both MCs. One is a popular actor, and she is a fan.
"Why are we here? Sophia needs us only for the event after this, right? She is down there, even if we leave, no one will notice, right?", Jeff asked nervously. He was uneasy since he found out that Isabella was in attendance. He didn't see her, but he knows she is there… that was enough for him to stick close to JoAnna. Actually, since incident in Reno with Timothy Cox, both Jeff and JoAnna were clinging onto each other much more than usually, but today was worse. Even JoAnna felt that he is all over her, holding her so close that their hips connect… all the time. He almost made a scene when she went to the restroom and he followed her while repeating reminders to watch her surroundings and to be wary of lecherous women lurking in the restroom. 
Security was alerted to keep an eye out for lecherous women.
Only when Sarah stood up and said she will go with JoAnna did Jeff relax a little and agreed to stay in the VIP booth with his brother. But he was still nervously glancing at the door, waiting for JoAnna to come back. Safe. Untouched.
Back to present… 
Jeff asked why they need to attend this event.
"We are here to support our sister and brother-in-law. It's not about the event.", Sarah responded partly amused and partly annoyed with Jeff's irrational behavior. She didn't understand why Jeff is so wary of Isabella. Sure, she knows that Isabella made a pass on JoAnna, but that was cleared up and in the past. Right?

Aiden decided to stay out of it. He is doing his part by showing up and not complaining. Snacks are not bad, and he is with Sarah. He knows that they will stay until the end of this event, and then there are other activities lined up… what's the point in causing a commotion? Aiden does not care much about supporting Sophia or Felix, but he knows that it means a lot to Sarah, so he will do it.

Sarah and JoAnna went to check out vendors in the hallways. JoAnna had to convince Jeff that it's OK, because Sarah will be with her. "And besides, Isi is down there at the stage with Sophia…" Only then did Jeff relax a little. 
Sarah and JoAnna returned not long after carrying large trays filled with junk food. They had French fries, hot dogs, onion rings, candied pretzels, corn on the cob and even cotton candy. Considering how much Sarah and JoAnna love junk food, that was like feast from heaven. Jeff and Aiden didn't approve, but when they saw their girls so happy, they couldn't say anything. And they ended up eating as well. 
About half of the event was done when Sophia came back to the stage, personally introducing director of the department with largest contribution toward company's record profits… she introduced Felix. It was his first presentation for the day.
Sarah and JoAnna had to admit that their brother-in-law looked dashing in a light summer suit. His smile was enchanting to the point that Sarah and JoAnna heard gasps and sighs from numerous ladies (and few men) sitting below their VIP booth. His sight was a bit off; he didn't look at the people present or any of the cameras, but no one minded that; they assumed that he must be looking at the notes someone is holding on the side. But Sarah and JoAnna knew that he is looking at Sophia. 
Someone nearby mentioned how he is not married and that spread like summer bush fire between ladies (and few men) whose eyes sparkled while watching Felix on the stage. On big screens above the stage he looked even more handsome, if that was possible. His French accent only added to his appeal, and many females admitted later that they were not able to hear what he is saying because they were in some form of a trance. For those who did pay attention to content, they could see and hear that Felix's presentation went great. 
When he finished, number of ladies from the audience stood up expressing their disapproval and asking for him to return to the stage. Only when someone notified them that Director Martin has more appearances, did the ladies calm down. That moment marks the beginning of the unofficial fan club for Director Martin within Orion Enterprise.

"Until few weeks ago I would say that there is no such thing as destiny. That we are all masters of our lives and that everything depends on our actions, or lack of it. But I can't help but wonder: why did I not push you away? ... Why does it feel like everything will be OK as long as we are together? ... You are a piece of me that I never knew was missing. Is this destiny?" 
"Mmm... if that is destiny, then I approve it.", Aiden lightly kissed Sarah's shoulder and rested his chin on it.

Coach told us the lineup before the game and...it was different. Never mind the fact that Noah wasn't batting early in the lineup, but also, Zeke was no longer the cleanup hitter. 

"I constructed this lineup this way for a reason. Sanchez is a good pitcher and has great endurance." Coach told us. "I want our best hitters to get the most at-bats so don't think too much."

"But, Garret's a lefty...he's at a disadvantage, yet you put him first." Noah said. 

Coach nodded. "But he has the next best average and on base percentage after Zeke and Jake. It would be a waste to make Jake hit first and then Zeke second. I'm not saying it'll work out, but this is what I'm hoping for: an early lead. We get up on that scoreboard, and then pitching and defense will hold them down."

Kyle looked nervous. "How about we score lots of runs?" Some of the guys snickered. Kyle clung to my arm out of nowhere. "Please! Jake! You have to do your best!"

Noah pulled him off me. "Stop that. You know Jake doesn't like that."

"Get a grip, dude." Dave slapped Kyle's arm. "If you can't find the courage then just sit down. There are others who want to pitch too."

"You're not even allowed to pitch today." Kyle glared at his twin. 

Dave sighed and put his hands on top of his head. "I wasn't talking about me. Just go hard. There are plenty of pitchers in the pen."

"I don't need you to tell me that." He huffed and headed for the bullpen to warmup before the game. Other pitchers and both catchers went as well. Everyone started to warmup properly now that the nerves had settled. 

The game started at 3pm so it wasn't surprising that students started to fill up the stands as we were warming up. What was surprising was how many Servite students showed up. Especially since they're an all-boys school. 

"This will be the biggest crowd we've played in front of." Noah told me after warmups. We were waiting in the dugout to take the field. "Even bigger than any tournament game."

I glanced at him. "How can you say that?"

He grinned and looked out in the stands that were completely packed. "Because this time, everyone here is here to see us play. There aren't any random spectators. Everyone is here to cheer for us or for Servite." 

I shivered, not liking the fact that Noah was making this a big deal. 

"Look! There's Willie." Noah pointed at the scout in the center, behind home plate. He was sitting with other men that didn't look affiliated with either high school. "I guess there are some spectators who won't be cheering." Noah corrected himself. 

"Are they scouts?" I asked

"Should be." Noah nodded. "I see Mr. Cameron too." He pointed at the reporter. "Really makes you feel how important this game is." Noah grinned, excited to play.

The whole dugout seemed to share in his excitement as well. It felt like a championship game was about to take place. A winner take all. 

I took a deep breath to relax. 

"I don't want to see any freebies out there, Kyle." Coach instructed when he came back to the dugout. "Zeke, take it from here."

"Freebies?" I whispered to Noah as Zeke stood up. 

"Walks." Noah told me. 

"Let's give it our best today." Zeke said as the team gathered around him. "I don't care if you trip and fall. If you miss a fly ball or a grounder. If you make an error or three. As long as you get back up and continue to keep trying." He looked around to make eye contact with all of us. "We have a great team this year. The best I've been on. We'll go farther than any other team." His eyes narrowed. "We slipped up against Golden West. That won't happen again."

"Yea!" The guys chorused.
I nodded. I slipped up too. Just by not going. They could have used me that day, I know it. No one wants to blame me outright, but I know it's on their minds. 

"Let's win this!" Zeke exclaimed with a light in his eyes. 

"Win!" The team yelled together before the starters took the field. 

I jogged out with Noah and the other infielders. Julian rolled us fake grounders and we threw them back to him to prepare ourselves. Kyle was throwing warmup pitches to Alex, and the outfielders were throwing long passes. Everyone looked ready. 

The umpire only gave us a minute or two before calling up the first batter. Kyle got set on the mound as the batter got in the righty's box. 

Kyle's first pitch was a called strike on the inside. His next pitch looked to be outside, but the batter swung and sent it out of the infield. 

"Ahh!" The crowd let out gasps as the ball traveled to the outfield. 

Mahki tracked it down until he got to the outfield fence. He put his right hand on the fence, then jumped for the ball as it got close. He was able to snatch it and prevent the home run. 

The crowd clapped and cheered for Mahki's catch. I looked to Kyle on the mound, slightly worried how he would feel starting off with an almost home run. 

"We've got your back." Noah clapped with his glove, letting Kyle know that he shouldn't get down on himself so soon. 

Kyle nodded and took a deep breath before getting ready for the next batter. Even though he looked calm, he started off with two balls before getting the batter to swing at something high. On a 2-1 count, he connected, putting the ball into fair play. It was a pop up that looked like it could be a bloop single to right field. I immediately ran to cover second base. 

Jason started to back up for it, but Noah called him off. "I've got it!" Noah tracked it down to the grass and made the catch for the second out. He smiled as the crowd clapped for him. He then threw the ball back to Kyle on the mound. "Two outs."

"Two outs!" A few of the players repeated. 

The third batter stepped up after everyone got into position. He fouled off Kyle's first pitch to him. And then again. And again. I kicked the dirt, trying to remember what this batter had done in the Golden West game. It's hard to recall when I know that Servite didn't score any runs. Golden West had won 1-0. 

"Nice pitch!" Noah told Kyle. "Keep it up."

Kyle threw the fourth pitch outside for a ball. Then the fifth was in the zone, but slightly high. The batter swung and the ball soared up high. But...it was just that: high. I backed up, heels to the grass, got under it, and caught it. Three outs. I rolled the ball to the mound as we all jogged back to the dugout. 


Jake has it rough: a missing dad, an abusive mother and a hidden talent for baseball which sends his mother off the deep end. Sent to live with a foster family, his love for baseball is revived, and with their help, will Jake start to shine like the future superstar he is?

"Maricar. Hoy! Maricar!" Napatitig naman si Maricar sa kaibigan.

"Ano na? Bakit natulala ka na lang dyan bigla?" Iniwas nito ang tingin kay kara. Tumalikod ito at pumunta sa mga table para punasan ito.

"Wala. Hindi ka lang namin mapigilan dahil gusto mong pumunta ng stage at agawin ang microphone sa singer namin."

"I did? Omg! nakakahiya. Siguro pinagtatawanan na ako ni Loren." Napatakip naman siya ng mukha. Ang kapal talaga ng mukha mo Kara.

"Pero sure ka yun lang talaga ang ginawa ko.?" Lumapit siya dito at kinulit pa ito tungkol doon.

Naiinis na lumingon ito sa kanya. "Kara wala ka bang gagawin?"

Yun na nga wala siyang magawa dahil Sunday. "Wala."
"Kung ganun umuwi ka na lang sa inyo. I'm working Kara I can't entertain you."

Nagkunwari naman siyang malungkot. "Bakit pinapaalis mo na ako, hindi mo na ba ako mahal?" Nagkunwari pa siyang nagpupunas ng luha kahit wala naman talaga.

"Kara, ang arte mo. Wag kang magdrama dyan." Sungit nito sa kanya.

"Eto naman ang sungit, meron ka ba? may extra pads ako." Agad naman siyang tumakbo ng akmang babatukan siya nito.

"Karaaaa!..." Natawa naman siya sa reaction nito.

"Eto na uuwi na. GG eh. Bye."

PAGKAGALING sa Restobar ay dumeretso siya sa mall, bumili muna siya ng skin care niya sa Watsons. Napansin niya kasi na tumutubo na naman ang mga Mt. pinatubo niya sa mukha o mas kilala sa tawag na pimples. Hindi namam siya matagyawatin pero syempre dahil sa dirt na na-aabsorb ng balat natin kaya nagkakaroon ng pimples. Palabas na siya ng makita niya ang babaeng gusto ni Loren. 

Anu nga ba ulit name nun? Ah! Cristy..ay hindi Cris-Cristine. Yun! Cristine nga.

Lalapitan niya sana ito ng bigla niyang makita si Lorenzo na palapit dito.

Napatigil siya at agad na tumalikod. Napahawak siya sa kanyang dibdib. Hindi niya maiwasang masaktan dahil magkasama silang dalawa. Alam naman niya na gusto talaga ni Lorenzo si Cristine at wala talagang pag-asa na magustuhan din siya ng lalaki ng higit pa sa pagiging magkaibigan pero hindi niya pa rin kaya. Masakit pa din.

Minabuti niya ng umalis bago pa siya mapansin ng dalawa. Ayos lang yan Kara! makaka-move ka din kahit di naman naging kayo para mag-move on ka. Fighting!

Naisipan niya muna kumain bago umuwi since tanghali na rin naman. Naghahanap siya ng restaurant na pwede niyang kainan nang mapansin niya ang isang restaurant na may mahabang pila ng mga tao. Anong meron? 

Dahil curious siya ay nagtanong siya sa babaeng isa rin sa nakapila.

"Miss anong meron dyan? Bakit andaming tao?" Nakangiti niyang tanong.

"Opening kasi nito ngayon, bukod sa masarap ang luto nila ay may mga freebies pa sila. Kaya naman pinipilahan."

Nagningning naman ang mata niya ng marinig ang salitang 'freebies'.

"Talaga? Baka naman mahal dito miss." Agad naman umiling ang babae. "Hindi. Affordable ang mga pagkain nila dito. I already tried it, i just forgot to take out for my kids." Nagulat naman siya. Akala niya dalaga pa ito dahil mukha talagang itong dalaga. 

Sana ganyan din ako ka-sexy at kaganda kahit may anak na. Loka! sablay nga ang lovelife mo eh. 

Ngumiti na lang siya sa babae at nagpasalamat.

Akmang aalis na siya ng tanungin siya ng babae.
"Gusto mo bang kumain dito?" Pagkatapos ay lumapit ito saka bumulong. "Pwede kitang pasingitin sa pila. Basta pasimple lang tayo." Nanlaki naman ang kanyang mata sa tuwa. Hindi na siya mahihirapan sa pila. Agad naman siyang tumango dito.

Matapos ang ilang oras ay nakapasok na sila ni Diana. Oo Diana ang pangalan ng babae. Ngayon nya lang naalala na kanina pa sila nag-uusap pero hindi pa pala nila kilala ang isa't-isa. Kaya naman pareho silang natawa. Pagkatapos umorder ay umalis na si Diana samantalang siya ay naghanap ng bakanteng mauupuan.

Pero nahirapan siyang makahanap ng pupuwestuhan dahil sa dami ng tao. 

Biglang pumasok sa isip niya si Lorenzo. Dati pag may bago silang nadiskubreng kainan, agad nilang pupuntahan iyon. Nagpapaunahan pa silang dalawa dahil kung sinong mahuli, siya ang manlilibre. 

Pero syempre dati yon.
Dahil mga teenager pa lang sila noon at may sariling mundo. Silang dalawa lang sa ginawa nilang mundo, pero ngayon mukhang hindi na siya parte ng bagong mundo niya dahil may pumalit na sa pwesto niya. Mapait na napangiti na lang siya sa mga naalala. A bittersweet memories.

Nag-antay pa siya ng ilang minuto bago nabakante ang table doon malapit sa bintana. Pagkatapos malinisan ng staff ang table ay dali-dali niyang inilagay ang tray niya. Kasabay ng paglagay niya ng tray ay ang paglagay din ng isang lalaki ng kanyang tray.

Nagulat naman sila pareho.
"Ahmm. Nauna akong naglagay ng pagkain ko." Ackward niyang ngiti dito.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Sige lilipat na lang ako." Pagso-sorry nito. Mukha namang mabait yung lalaki kaya bago pa ito tuluyang makaalis ay pinigilan niya na ito.

"No. It's okay. You can sit here. Table for two naman ito."

Napangiti naman ang lalaki sa kanya. Nakasuot ito ng jeans at white shirt na pinatungan ng Denim jacket. Simple pero malinis tingnan.

"Thanks. Hindi ko rin kasi alam na marami na palang kumakain sa restaurant nila mom." Napatigil naman siya sa akmang pagsubo ng kutsara.

"What? you owned this?" Nahiya naman siya bigla. Siya pala dapat ang lumipat ng table.

Natawa naman ito sa kanya. "My parents is the owner of this restaurant, not me." Nag-umpisa na itong kumain.

"Ganun din naman yun, considered ka na rin na may-ari." At sinubo niya ang carbonara na in-order niya. hmm.. now i know. Masarap pala talaga ang luto nila. Kaya naman pala pinipilahan.

Napatingin naman siya sa kaharap na may itinuturo. Nagpipigil rin ito ng ngiti.

Napakunot noo naman siya.
"Bakit? anung tinuturo mo dyan?" Hindi na nito napigil ang paglawak ng ngiti. Kumuha ito ng tissue at siya na mismo ang nagpunas ng sauce sa gilid ng labi niya. Napatigil siya sa ginawa nito. 

"Para kang bata." Natatawang sabi nito pagkatapos nitong punasan ang labi niya.

"Salamat. Ang humble mo na, ang gentleman mo pa. Huwag kang ganyan binabaril sa Luneta ang mga ganyan." Pagbibiro niya dito para maitago ang hiya niya. Ang dungis niya talaga kumain.

Napahalakhak na ito. "Your so funny. I like you." Sabi nito.

"Oyy! ang bilis mo ah. kakakilala pa lang natin." Sabi niya.

"No. I mean, I like you as a person not in a romantic way." Pagtatama nito.

Siya naman ang natawa. "Alam ko."

Napaisip naman siya parang kanina ganito din yung nangyari, Hindi na naman niya alam ang pangalan ng kausap niya.

At mukang pareho sila ng naiisip ng lalaki.

"By the way, I'm Josh. Joshua Buenavista." Inilahad nito ang kamay sa kanya.

Inabot niya naman ang kamay nito. "Kara. Kara Villena."

"Nice meeting you, Kara."

"Me too."

Nakakatuwa naman ang dami ko atang nakilala ngayong araw.

Naisip niya tutal wala naman ng pag-asa ang lovelife niya ay papayag na lang siya sa kagustuhan ng ina na pakasalan ang anak ng isa sa amiga nito.

Pero nagulat siya dahil sa araw ng kasal niya ay bigla na lang sumulpot si Lorenzo at sinabing ilalayo siya nito, na hindi ito pumapayag sa kasal.

Laking tuwa niya dahil mukang may patutunguhan na ang lovelife niya dahil tinutulan nito ang kasal, ibig-sabihin mahalaga siya sa lalaki.

Makaalis na sana sila ng maabutan sila ng pamilya nila. Nagkagulo na ang lahat, lalo na ng lumabas na rin ang pamilya ng kanyang groom-to-be. Kaya naman para matapos ang lahat ay sumigaw siya.

"Tumugil kayong lahat! ma pa, hindi ako pwedeng magpakasal d-dahil may nangyari na samin ni Lorenzo."

shit! kara, bakit sa lahat naman ng naisip mong dahilan yun pa.

Gulat na napatingin sa kanya ang lahat lalong-lalo na si Lorenzo.

"Ano?!"

shit na malagkit! mukang lalong lang gugulo.

--"I already know that it was you and your band of halfwits that did this!"(Zail)

Yes. It was the Church that set this up.

"Hoh... Why do you think so? Don't tell me it's just an irrational claim you just made so you could make yourself feel like your suffering actually had a meaning."(Priest)

The Priest said in a condescending tone, however the next word that Zail said changed the temperture of the room to absolute zero.

"Influence."(Zail) 

The Priest released a phenomenal amount of bloodthirst as soon as this word escaped his mouth, his bloodthirst sent shivers down Kinata, Tomoyo and the surrounding priest's spine.

The priests that were in the small room where everyone was, seemed to be agitated. These priests whom only had two tasks which were for defensive purposes and for taking away Kinata reacted at this one word.

"...Knew it..."(Zail)

Zail muttered this under his breath as he gave a nod of confirmation. It seems Kinata heard this mutter and questioned her little brother.

"Knew what?"(Kinata)

"That they're the one who set this up. Kinata you're not actually a Holy Maiden, right?"(Zail)

"How did you..?!"(Kinata)

Kinata made an exclamation of surprise as she did not expect her little brother to know this.

"It's because the degree they're taking this to."(Zail)

"My guess is that Kinata's class is actually something on the level of heroes and saints."(Zail)

Zail, or rather, Ibawarai began his explanation.

"Currently the influence of The Divine Church has been declining, and the rise of an opposing church is taking it's place. The Divine Church mostly focuses around the Supreme God Of Order, Grand, and the rest of the gods are seen as freebies that are there because of the kindness of Grand--"(Ibawarai)

"DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK THE NAME OF OUR BELOVED GOD!"( Random Priest)

The main Priest glared at the man, and the man quickly went quiet.

"Continue."(Priest)

"As I was saying, they're just seen as freebies however the opposing church focuses around the Ultimate God Alvario. Alvario is said to be the father of all the gods and the mortal enemy of his first son Grand."(Ibawarai)

"Why does he hate his son?"(Kinata)

Kinata raised a question because the family matters were not what she was expecting.

"It's because--"(Priest)

"--He doesn't."(Ibawarai)

The Priest intended to answer the question however the little boy's voice interrupted him, giving an answer that didn't seem favourable to the Priest.

Kinata tilted her head because she didn't know about the circumstances of the god and his son.

"According to all the different churches, Alvario has an undying love for all his sons and daughters, however Alvario and Grand have different opinions on a certain matter. This matter is about absolute order. Alvario insists that living creatures have some degree of freedom, however Grand wants absolute order."(Ibawarai)

"And how do you know this?"(Priest)

The priest gave a grin as he realized that I have no proof.

"Do you even know the teachings and stories of churches other than your own?"(Ibawarai)

"..."(Priest)

"Thought so."(Ibawarai)

"According to all the churches, not including The Divine Church, the 'order' that Grand wants is a world where there is no disputes and where everything is planned."(Ibawarai)

"Isn't that a good thing?"(Kinata)

"It--"(Ibawarai)

"--Is absolutely not a good thing."(Tomoyo)

Tomoyo who has been listening to the past argument stated this. Tomoyo had a thousand yard stare that contained a bit of melancholy.

"Oi--"(Priest)

"--Why?"(Kinata)

"Because if there was absolute order there would be no love, no hope and no freedom. Goals, dreams, desires that will be left unfulfilled."(Tomoyo)

"Then what about the no disputes?"(Kinata)

"If there were no disputes then the world won't be able to function properly. Disputes may lead to death, be a form of affection and could also be a form of hatred."(Tomoyo)

"But if people die isn't that bad?"(Kinata)

When Kinata voiced this question while tilting her head, Tomoyo had a look of sadness as if something important was purged from her.

Tomoyo was going to answer Kinata however,

"Kinata, death can also lead to good things."(Ibawarai)

Ibawarai said this statement that made Tomoyo glance at him almost immediately, at this reaction Ibawarai gave a gentle smile.

The surrounding priests began to murmer, and the main Priest opened his eyes wide because of this mature statement.

"Death can lead to many things good and bad depending on the perspectives. If there are lots of living creatures that means lots of babies are also made, which also means there'll be more mouths to feed. Some people may do anything for food, and various things such as robbery and murder may occur because they can reap more rewards through that way, this inadvertantly creates a society that looks at their fellow citizens as prey and could even break a country. This can however be avoided if we lessen the population."(Ibawarai)

"Then how about expanding the country?"(Kinata)

"You need manpower for expanding a country, in other words people who have food in their bellies can work efficiently, however there may not even be enough food to supply them, and even if they do human greed is boundless as they would want more than they can chew."(Ibawarai)

"And also, expanding territories could incite wars. Lessening the population is an easier way to take care of this problem, but it seems The Divine Church doesn't see that."(Ibawarai)

It took a few minutes for Kinata to process this information but in the end she just accepted it.

"ENOUGH OF THAT TALK!"(Priest)

The Priest shouted this, it was if someone raised the volume of a microphone to the loudest capacity possible.

"Anyway, using you they could increase the influence of their church and if you refused they may have even used me as a hostage."(Ibawarai)

"How could they?!"(Kinata)

A hint of anger appeared on Zail's face, and Kinata exclaimed in anger, but the Priest muttered something.

"Evidence..."(Priest)

The Priest had a gleaming smile because he noticed they did not have any evidence.

"Hm?"(Ibawarai)

"Do you have any evidence?"(Priest)

"Oh, that!"(Ibawarai)

Ibawarai exlaimed playfully as he crossed his legs on his chair with a cynical grin.

"Kinata, did you pick 'that' up?"(Ibawarai)

"Yeah, I've held onto 'that' ever since the incident."(Kinata)

"Do you have 'that' on you?"(Ibawarai)

"Yeah, I have 'that' in my pocket."(Kinata)

As the pair of siblings were talking someone interrupted their conversation.

"What's 'that'"(Tomoyo)

Ibawarai made a bitter smile.

"Pull 'that' out please."(Ibawarai)

What Kinata took from her pocket was a dagger.

"A dagger?"(Tomoyo)

The Priest paled once he saw this dagger.

"Does the crest seem familiar to you?"(Ibawarai)

"T-that idiot!"(Priest)

The Priest seemed to curse the boy who was probably hired to cause this incident, the reason he did so was because the blade of the dagger had the crest of the Divine Church. The reason Kinata has this is because during the incident Zail kicked the dagger towards the direction of Kinata, and when the 'maid' who was supposedly trying to 'help' her master arrived, Zail made eye contact with Kinata and pointed at the weapon secretively to indicate to take the weapon.

"Now then, ready to go empty handed?"(Ibawarai)

Just as I voiced this question 'someone' took the dagger off Kinata and handed it to the Priest.

"Sorry."(???)

Yes. That 'someone' was Tomoyo.

"Wha..?!"(Kinata)

Tomoyo knocked out Kinata with a chop to the neck.

"Aah... I see now... The plan could've worked because I thought you had some degree of authority, but the flaw was that I didn't know."(Zail)

Tomoyo's face is shedding tears, in other words, she doesn't want to do this.

"Tomoyo, your actually a Holy Maiden Of Grand, right?"(Zail)

She gave a grievous nod.

"There were a few clues, for example your status is vastly different from mine, my base status should be higher than your base status if those numbers of your status were true, and also if you can hide your class's level then who's to say you can't hide your status's level. You probably could also even directly alter what's shown, because you're not actually a Priest Of Lucerna, your actually a Priest Of Grand. You probably showed us your fake status early on so we wouldn't feel suspicous of you."(Zail)

"Zail..."(Tomoyo)

"Yes that's correct, however I truly am a priest and holy maiden of Lucerna."(Tomoyo)

"Then why are you doing this?"(Zail)

"Circumstances..."(Tomoyo)

"haha... I see...."(Zail)

Zail gave a dry laugh, then he raised two questions.

"Then are the other children safe?"(Zail)

"Of course they are!"(Tomoyo)

"Oh, and could you give this to Kinata."(Zail)

Zail handed over to Tomoyo a bracelet.

"This is..."(Tomoyo)

Tomoyo knew what it was and what it meant to him, because she was there on the third year Zail was born. Tomoyo recieved it along with Zail's conviction.

"Now then, let's do this."(Zail)

While Zail was calmly losing his consciousness he glanced at the Priest and saw a disgusting smile. At the last strands of his consciousness Zail said two words.

"...Damn it...."(Zail)

Hinawakan niya ang kamay 'ko. "No matter how many times we break up, I know that we will always end up with each other." Sabi nito at lalong hinigpitan ang pagkakahawak niya sa'kin. Ngayon lalo naging seryoso ang mga mata niya.

"Paris, let's start over again. Don't leave me again, please?" 

Napangiti naman ako saka tumayo para i-back hug siya. "Not this time anymore my boo even my pinky finger broke." Sabi ko at saka ito humarap sa'kin para yakapin din ako. 

"I love you." Ani niya. 

"I love you too. I love you today, tomorrow and always." And I kissed his forehead. No one can change that love I have for you, my boo. 

Ilibing niyo na lang ako ng buhay kapag nag-break pa kami ulit. And let's be less drama now. Bati na kami pero hindi ibig sabihin no'n na kakalimutan ko lahat nang ginawa ko. Babawi pa rin ako sa kanya. Inimbitahan ko na rin siya sa birthday ni lola at agad na pumayag ito. Nag-presenta pa siya na siya na lang ang magluluto. 

Tapos na rin kami mag-almusal at niyaya niya 'ko mag-swimming sa sobrang init niya sa katawan dahil sa hangover. Sinundan ko lang siya sa labas at baka nakakalimutan niyo, hindi ako marunong lumangoy. As usual, kahit saang swimming naman siguro ako sumama, sa gilid ng pool mo lang talaga ako makikita at paa lang ang nakalublob. Nagulat na lang rin ako nang hilahin niya 'ko. 

"Putangina ka talaga." Sabi ko habang pinagtatawanan niya 'ko. Napakayabang purket marunong siyang lumangoy. Palibhasa shokoy eh. Ay! Siguro kung nagkatuluyan talaga sila ni Irish, para silang shokoy na may piranhang mukhang hipon na pet couple hahahaha! I'm too harsh. Anyway, good vibes na tayo ngayon ha? 

Mukhang ngayong araw na ang bagong simula ulit namin. Sabi nga nila hangga't may kinabukasan o nagigising ka pa eh may bagong simula ka at may pag-asa. Pag-asang ayusin ang buhay mo at ang mga nasira mo kahapon. 

No'ng nalaman ko kagabi na wala pala talaga siyang asawa halos mabaliw ako sa inis sa sarili ko at sa hindi maipaliwanag na emosyon. Ibig sabihin ba nito ay wala na talagang hadlang? Lord, sana ito na po talaga. Nakakabaliw na rin po kasi ang break-balikan namin huhu.






Granny Voredel's 53rd Year! 


Everything is settled. The family and amie; it means friend, some relatives I haven't met before and of course the special guest, Mr. Velasco preparing the dishes he made for lola's birthday. Minsan talaga nakakalimutan ni lola kung sino ang apo niya sa'ming dalawa hays. Gano'n din si mama. But anyway it's not a big deal. Mas masaya nga ako dahil maganda ang trato nila kay Kyle. 

Masaya lang ang lahat at parang hindi matanda ang may birthday. Lakas kasi maka-bagets ni lola eh. Hindi niya naranasan ang mag-celebrate ng debut niya noon dahil sa letseng fixed marriage kaya naisipan naming gawing parang debut ang kaarawan niya. It was really a fun night not until they asked me to sing at the videoke. 

"You know I don't sing." Sabi ko ng may halong inis. Maliban sa hindi ako marunong lumangoy, pangit rin ang boses ko na para kang nakakarinig nang sinasapiang kabayo kapag kumakanta. "Come on Parisha. Soprano 2 ka yata sa school choir ." Ani ni Sydney. Kahit ako hindi alam kung paano nangyari 'yun. Baka sadyang high pitched lang talaga ako. 

"That was when we're in highschool." 

"Ang pa-humble mo naman." Biro ni Lavender. Nah. Hindi sa pa-humble. Pangit lang talaga ang boses ko kaya ayaw kong kumanta sa videoke hmp. 

"Viens l'amour! You're mommy's a soprano too and she used to sing at the church. Hindi naman na siguro nakakapagtaka kung mamana mo 'yun iha." Ani ni lola. 

"Nand'yan naman si Kyle na maganda ang boses." 
Kanina pa rin kasi nakanta si Kyle sa videoke. Hindi naman kasi maitanggi na maganda talaga ang boses niya. "Then why don't you sing together then?" Granny insisted. Urgh! Napatingin na lang ako kay Kyle. For sure aasarin nanaman ako nito kapag kumanta ako. Sabi niya pa naman noon sa'kin nakakasama sa kalusugan ko ang pagkanta. Yabang talaga. Hmp! 

"Just for your grandma, please?" Pagpapa-cute ni lola sa'kin. Hays. Ayaw ko namang sirain ang birthday niya dahil lang sa hindi ko pagkanta. I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Pero isang beses lang." Sabi ko at lalo silang natuwa. Bahala kayo kung mada-damage ang mga eardrums niyo. 

"What do you want to sing baby?" Kyle asked. Wait, I'm thinking for an easy one... How about "A thousand miles?" Ani ko saka nilagay ni Kyle ang mga numero at nag-simula na ang tugtog. Sobrang kinakabahan ako although hindi naman concert 'tong kakantahan ko. 

"You go first." Sabi ko kay Kyle na nginisihan lang ako. Tignan mo hindi pa 'ko nakanta mukhang inaasar na niya 'ko. The song started so as he singing. I know I'm not the only who's falling in love with him when he sings. Kapag narinig mo talaga ang boses niya malalaglag na lang ang panty mo sa sobrang kilig. 

"And I need you..." He looked at me. "And I miss you..." As I continued the lyrics before we sang together saka niya ako hinayaan sa chorus. 

"If I could fall into the sky
Do you think time would pass me by?
Oh 'cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you... Tonight."

This is the very first song I sang with him. Bigla akong nakaramdam ng magandang feeling habang kinakanta ko nang kasabay siya. Mukhang magiging paborito ko pa yata 'to. Sabay naming tinapos ang kanta bago niya ako halikan sa noo. Kilig na kilig naman ang mga loko sa amin. At sa oras na natapos namin ang kanta hindi ko alam kung iniinsulto ba nila ako o pinupuri talaga eh hahaha! 

"Maganda naman ang boses mo eh." Mahinang sabi sa'kin ni Kyle. 

"Nang-uto ka pa. Hindi ka kakain ng cake bleh." 

"Bakit? Birthday mo ba?" Sabay ngisi nito. Kalma, hindi naman ako mababaw mapikon haha!

Tapos na ang birthday ni lola kaya naman nag-simula na kaming mag-linis ng mga kaibigan ko. Oo may maid kami pero ayaw ko namang pahirapan sila. Pinag-pahinga ko na rin sina mama at lola at saka dumiretso sa boutique dahil hindi ko pa ito naisasara. Hinatid naman ako ni Kyle ro'n kaya 'di na kaylangang mag-alala. 

Nang makarating kami sa boutique, nagtaka ako kung bakit napakalinis at halos wala na rin ang mga trabahador namin. Hindi na lang rin nila isinara ang boutique tsk! Chineck ko naman muna agad ito bago iwanan. Baka mamaya may nagtanim na ng bomba sa loob edi bukas wala na kaming negosyo. 

"Hindi man lang sila nag-paalam na maaga silang mago-out. Lagot nanaman sila bukas." Sabi ko nang makasakay ako ulit sa kotse at muli na niyang drinive. Napansin kong biglang tumahimik si Kyle ngayon at mukhang malalim ang iniisip. "May problema ba?" Tanong ko rito. 

"Nah. May iniisip lang ako."

"Then tell me what's bothering you." 

"No need. I can handle it. I just want to do some stroll tonight to make me feel better. 'Wag mo 'ko alalahanin hindi naman nakakamatay ang iniisip ko." Sabi niya sabay kurot sa pisngi ko. Hindi ko na lang siya kinulit na magsabi kasi baka mabadtrip lang siya sa'kin. Akala ko rin ihahatid niya na 'ko sa bahay pero bakit nag-iiba ang direksyon namin ngayon? 

"Teka, hindi 'to ang daan pauwi."

"I know."

"Saan naman tayo pupunta?" 

Hindi na niya 'ko sinagot at nagpatuloy lamang siya sa pagda-drive hanggang sa parehas na naming natatanaw ang Eiffel Tower. Dito niya rin kami ibinaba. "Anong ginagawa natin dito?" Tanong ko ulit. 

"Wala naman. Gusto lang kita masolo hehehe..." Sabi niya at tila nahiya pa ito. Napangiti naman ako ro'n at hindi ko napigilang kiligin. Pinagmasdan namin ang magandang tanawin habang yakap-yakap ang isa't-isa. Nagpaalam rin siya sa'king may bibilhin lang siyang pagkain kaya naman pinayagan ko ito dahil nakakagutom rin. Maya-maya'y nakarating din siya at hindi lang pagkain ang dala. 

I know it's only January pero 'yung mga ginagawa niya ngayon eh pang Valentine's Day na. May hawak siyang teddy bear, box of chocolates at isa pang box na cute ang balot. Masyado siyang mahilig sa mga kahon. "What's in the box Mr. Velasco?" Ani ko nang makalapit sa kanya. "Freebies ng chocolates." Sabi niya at saka inabot sa'kin. Sis ang bigat. Mukhang hindi biro ang laman. Agad ko itong binuksan at isang cute na nilalang ang bumungad sa'kin. Sobrang na-touch ang puso ko nang makita ko ito. 

"Oh my gosh! Ang cuuute!" At saka ko siya binuhat. Isang pembroke welsh corgi puppy. "Hindi man siya galing sa'kin, pero 'yan na muna ang anak na ibibigay ko sa'yo." Sabi ni Kyle. Natawa naman ako sa sinabi niya. Busying-busy na ako sa kahaharot sa bago kong baby na freebies ng chocolate. Ginawa pa nilang freebie ang bawal sa tsokolate. 

"Sana hindi mo 'ko makalimutan habang nilalaro mo siya." Ani niya at saka ko siya nilingon at panibagong surpresa nanaman ang ibinungad niya sa'kin.

" hey Dr. Pierre may I ask some questions?"- she asked calmly

" Are you losing your fortune?"
