Arlong and Shin is having very intense battle with the twins. The twins from Gracious Killer was very tough opponent for Arlong and Shin because the twins is having very great combinations fighting style that consist of several kicking techniques like soccer and very quick sprint.

"Razor nose..we need to think out some plan, these guys combinations attack and speed is very weird and unpredictable " Said Shin.

"What's the matter ? Are you afraid ? Just kill them" Arlong shouted while trying to dodge sudden tackle from Colo.

"You are hopeless razor nose.." Shin said angrily.

"BAM" Shin face got hit by Coco jump kick.

"Who is the idiot and the dumb now huh ?" Coco mocking his enemy.

Shin is trying to retaliating by sending spinning nunchaku attack but Coco dive down and countering Shin attack with low sweep kick. Shin is not panicking and he quickly jump to evade the low sweep but sadly for him, Coco suddenly change his stand and sending bicycle kick toward Shin who still jumping in the air.

"BAM" the kick is landed on Shin face really hard and make his nose bleeding.

"Shit.." Shin was sent flying and crashing to ground.

Arlong condition is not better than Shin either, He getting beat up pretty badly by Colo. 

"Let's play some ball game brother !!" said Coco.

"Okay..let's play them to their death" Said Colo.

Coco suddenly taking out some kind of metal ball with small spike around the surface from his back. Coco tossing the ball and it landed on the ground in front of Colo.

"Free Kick" Coco shouted and he began to sprint toward Arlong while Colo take some stance as if he will kick the metal ball toward Arlong.

"BAM" Colo suddenly shoots the ball toward Coco direction who still running toward Arlong.

"Goal"

"BOOM" Coco shoot the ball on the mid air  toward Arlong face.

"Fuck !!" Arlong trying to block the incoming metal ball with his Kiribachi.

"Clang" Arlong successfully block the metal ball but his Kiribachi is shattered because the metal ball is very powerful.

Shin who saw Arlong where in danger situation is immediately dashing toward Coco and attacking him, but Colo suddenly rushing toward the bounced metal ball and shoots it toward Shin. Metal ball flying with very fast speed and land on Shin stomach, Shin got hurt quite badly by the attack and make him kneeling while cough some blood.

While Shin is down, the twins is ganging up against Arlong who already losing  his weapon. Arlong trying so hard to defend the twins combinations attack but in the end he still got tricked by the twins and got shots in back by the metal ball. 

Back to Lance battle against Marley and Wendell.

After Lance got hit by Marley claws and get bashed by Wendell head, Lance begin to take the fight seriously and he using his soru to the max and suddenly appear behind Wendell.

"Dragon Fist"

"BOOM" Lance fist is connected toward Wendell back and sent him flying.

"Bones Trap" Marley who only seven meter away from Lance suddenly put his hand on the ground and lot of bones spear is pop out from the ground and piercing toward Lance.

Lance immediately using his geppo and dashing toward Marley and engaging close combat. After exchanging several blow each other, Marley realize that Lance is stronger than him.

"Skeleton King" Suddenly Marley body was covered by many bone layers and transformed himself into some kind of giant skeletons armor.

"Scythe Of Death" Marley who already transform into some kind of skeleton monster is creating very long bones scythe and began to attack Lance with dangerous slashes that make hissing sound around it.

Lance immediately activate his armament haki and dragon armor scale on his bodies. Marley scythe attack is very devastating, although its not enough to gave Lance serious injuries, Marley scythe attack is creating very sharp wind blade similar to rankyaku but it has very wide attack area and it can cuts everything around Lance like butter including those fainted and injured guard.

When Lance was busy to avoiding and blocking Marley attack, Wendell suddenly attacking him from behind. Wendell butcher knife is perfectly slashing Lance back but it can only make some scratch on it. Lance was becomes furious and send continuously shigan fist toward Wendell.

Marley immediately react and slashing his scythe again toward Lance.

"PUCHI" lot of blood is splattered on the air.

Lance who noticed Marley incoming attack is suddenly grabbing Wendell fat body and throw it toward Marley scythe attack. Wendell fat boars body was getting slashed vertically and his was splitting in half. Wendell is accidentally killed by his own Captain.

Back to Arlong and Shin battlefield versus the twins.

Arlong and Shin is getting cornered by the twins metal ball attack. Bruises and bloody wound is all over Arlong and Shin body , both of them is panting heavily.

"I told you we need some plan you idiot" Said Shin.

"....alright..i will take the hit, while find a chance to take down one of them" Said Arlong.

The metal ball is hitting Arlong and bouncing again and again, Arlong trying to catch the ball but metal ball always slipped from his hand because the ball speed is to fast. The twins is already know Arlong and Shin simple tactic and they were keeping their distance but unexpected thing is happen.

Pinto suddenly appear behind Coco like a ghost without the twins knowing.

"COCO" Colo is shouted and immediately trying to chase away Pinto.

"Shahaha..feel like breaking watermelon" Said Arlong while holding the bloody metal ball.

"Noooooo !!" Colo shouted while withstand the pain from Shin attack.

"BAAM" Shin nunchaku hitting Colo back neck so hard and break the bones inside.

Arthur screamed as he came upon the still burning orphanage, outside of which numerous children could be seen huddled up together all covered in ash and weeping as some of what Arthur assumed were caretakers in the orphanage were trying their best to calm them down, as they stared in shock and tears at the scene while more onlookers stood at the side all holding their heads in shock.

Arthur ran to the group and searched the huddled up children for Fairy "Come on, please don't be in there, please" he begged but not seeing her he turned to the nearest caretaker and grabbed her shoulders "Where is she!? Where is Fairy!? Where is Silky!?" he screamed

The caretaker didn't even have time to respond as two more people appeared behind Arthur, these being Coco and Velvet also staring in horror at the scene but quickly turning to Arthur who was looking into the flames with determination.

"Arthur, no" Coco said jumping in front of him, holding her hands up to stop him while Velvet went to the side of the caretakers and began to inspect any of the children for injuries while also keeping her eyes on Arthur.

Yet Arthur's determination was set and as a part of the orphanage collapsed distracting Coco enough that she turned around and covered her eyes to see if there was any potential danger that Arthur bolted past her and into the flames.

"Shit, Arthur!" Coco screamed turning to Velvet "Velvet get us an emergency evac for us and the children, I'm getting the idiot" she said before dashing into the flames to follow Arthur.

"Coco!" Velvet screamed

The master's trust in me is waning after my failure to exterminate your family, and I really can't be having that" the man said as he loomed over Silky as she collapsed onto her side gasping for air. "Honestly, I would just leave you like this; let you bleed out in say, five minutes? But you and your family have a tendency of not dying, so, please do say hello to the mistress for me will you?" he said as he pointed his finger at Silky as a light grey orb appeared at the tip of his finger.

"Goodbye, and good riddance" the man said as the orb grew larger before compressing back down and launching forward towards Silky.

Silky could only helplessly stare up at the blurry visage of the man in fear, her eyes beginning to burn as she strained them to stay open or that's what she reasoned in her delirium, yet her eyes kept burning even as she closed her eyes. Yet the burning kept getting more and more intense until just as the orb was about to hit her that her eyelids burst open and a white flame enveloped her eyes. Sending a wave of energy out in a circle around her, the energy dissolved the grey orb that was in it's path.

Until the circle of force was nearly a three meters in diameter around her that it then began to exude an unstable red and orange glow that quickly burst into the sky in an explosion, creating a pillar of fire while incinerating everything around her.

"The man, of course having felt the danger quickly jumped backwards before the flames could reach him, yet his reactions were too slow as the explosion crashed against his body sending him flying back and through the wall of the meeting room and into the hallway, his body buried in a pile of debris as fire enveloped the orphanage.

"Go then! I'm not leaving without her!" Arthur retorted as he rammed his body against a still standing door, now charred from the flames surrounding it but luckily having not caught flame just yet.

Just as his body impacted the door it fell from its hinges sending him and the door to the ground. Yet Arthur didn't let it faze him as he quickly stood back up and looked through the room which looked to be the epicentre of the explosion judging by how everything was thrown against the walls as well as a large hole in the wall which lead into the hall way that Arthur had come in from, the hall having been blocked by smouldering debris leaving this as his only other path.

Arthur's eyes eventually locked onto the body which he recognized as Jazz, except her body badly burnt from the flames, making her almost unrecognizable as only her back was badly damaged leaving her front only mildly burnt, yet, none of this was what Arthur locked onto, the first thing he saw was a bright red pool of blood surrounding her head where he could see a hole the diameter of a coin going through her temple.

"Dammit… where are you?" he muttered as he ignored the dead body of Jazz and kept looking around the room his eyes locking an a small charred foot peeking through some of the fallen debris "Fairy!" he screamed running to the debris and beginning to dig through the charred wood, ignoring the agonizing feeling of the flesh on his hands burning off him, his efforts only proving fruitless as what he found was not Fairy, but her disembodied and charred leg.

"Arthur! Over here! Coco screamed, as another crack resounded throughout the building sending a flaming beam falling towards her, where she quickly rolled out of the way of, then running a bit more to the side to avoid the small debris it sent out around it.

Arthur quickly looked up to where Coco was, his eyes immediately locking onto a small purple clad figure laying amongst a small crater at the edge of the room. Arthur immediately shot up and began to run towards the purple figure, stumbling over himself due to him not keeping track of where he was stepping.

Yet, just as he had gotten halfway to her he saw the debris from the hole in the wall begin to shift as a figure stood up from the debris and walk a few feet forward once he was free from the debris.

"Ahhh…" the man groaned "A miscalculation, I should have expected her to be the new maiden…" he sighed, cracking his neck, his eye's locking with Arthur's as he looked around the flame filled room, his eyes opening in surprise for a moment which was soon replaced with a slasher smile.

"Why, hello there! You're the boy the little miss was with this morning" he said with a venomous tone, "You should have just left her alone, now you have to die" he said lifting his hand and pointing his finger at Arthur, holding them as if they were a gun, a grey orb appearing at the tip of his fingers which was quickly shot out to Arthur, who quickly rolled to the side, avoiding the grey bullet.

"You! You're the one who did this!?" Arthur screamed

"Hmm? Oh, nonono, that honour goes to the little cur behind you she just had to awaken her powers before I could finally rid this world of her." The man sighed as he swung his cane around in circles.

"Arthur, she's not doing well!" Coco said, as she kneeled next to Fairy's unconscious body, having ripped off the sleeves of her blouse and using them to make a field tourniquet as well as to cover the stump of her leg.

Arthur didn't react to her, his eyes instead locked on the man standing across the room from them his expression turning more fierce and angry by the moment, his hair and eyes slowly turning black as he grew more furious.

"She's a child" Arthur screamed as he willed Cross to awaken, transforming his right arm into a giant black claw.

"Hmm? Interesting…" the man whispered as a small glint appeared in his eyes.

"What the…" Coco muttered her actions stopping as she stared at the sight of Arthur with an oversized claw for an arm that was nearly as tall as him.

"Why do this to her!?" Arthur screamed as he charged at the man slashing cross down, diagonally over the man, yet his claws didn't meet flesh and were instead met with a metallic 'Clang!' as the man had blocked Cross using his cane, not even stumbling in response to the force.

Letting out a disappointed sigh the man said "Haaa… It seems that this weapon of yours packs no punch, how disappointing. And to answer your question, because, I was tasked to, she and her family are a threat to my master, therefore, I am here to exterminate her once and for all." He explained "And now you and your little girlfriend there are on the list, can't be having you go, now that you've seen my face" he smirked as he pointed his free hand at Arthur "Now please, would you kindly just perish so I can deal with the little miss?" And fired off another aura bullet at Arthurs stomache, which threw him backwards and into the air.

As he flew backwards Arthur threw the claws of Cross into the ground, using them to stop his momentum, eventually ending with him kneeling on the ground, blood dripping onto the ground from the new hole in his stomach, his now pure black hair hanging over his face as he stared at the ground.

"Ah! Your still alive it seems" the man commented "Interesting, normally that kills them outright" he murmured "Well, either way" he pointed at Arthur once again, converging a new aura bullet at the end of it, but he didn't fire as his eyes widened at the peculiar sight of a dark mist exuding from Arthur's body, while the small pool of red blood turned pitch black and began to steam as well.

Arthur pushed himself up from the ground until her was standing, his body still hunched over as cross laid against the ground while his left arm dangled in the air, at the same time the dark mist that was exuded from Arthur rapidly burst out in every direction around him, turning every flame it touched into a strange black colour that let off a white glow instead of the regular orange that was associated with fire.

Both Coco and the man looked around at the flames, Coco in awe while the man was intrigued as to what else Arthur had up his sleeves.

Outside the orphanage everyone stood in awe at the sudden change of the fire as it changed from the infernal red and orange flames into fire as dark as the abyss, yet these flames also lit the area around it in white, the sky also clearing up as these strange flames didn't seem to create smoke.

Nora, while rummaging around in the Beacon Academy kitchen for a late night snack, finds something in the cupboard that changes her whole life.

"Take cover!" Ned cried, letting out all the frustration he had accumulated, cause he knew the result of the Deverour's attack. destruction followed by nothingness.






The group scattered in random, Ned took cover inside an abandoned shack, while Toni and Naa'ri scrambled in the stable, look of terror and disdain filtered their faces of beauty.






The Devourer's attack of mass energy exhibits a thick and purple sphere accompanied by a crackling sound of thunderous lightning. Blue energy circles its hollow chest encased in a darkened bones. After the devourer finished charging, the surroundings hissed and chilling aura creeped all over the remaining living outside the gate.






The hissing sound stopped as the Devourer was about to shoot the purple sphere in the already chaos spread area. Everything fell to silence. 






Moments later, their visions were drowned by the light that engulfed the area. Rays of red and blue mixed, that destroyed all the eyes could see. 






Ned heed the destruction that occurred outside the shack. The ground shook and the walls cracked, all this while the debris of molten brick fell atop. 






A streak purple light was letting it way in to where Ned was. Ned gazed in the hole in front of him. The beam of destruction was closing in, but when it was closer to Ned, it stopped. Frowning his brow, he stared once more into the hole. The ground buzzed of vibration, and his senses seemed to play with him. All the debris that settled on the ground, be it splintered woods, monster pelts, swords, quivers, bows, even the dead human bodies begun to float. 






Before Ned could shout, he instinctively swallowed a lump of his saliva. He stood, kick open the crumbling door and ran to where Toni and Naa'ri was.






The two were in a stable, eyes bulging out, cause right in front of them were mutilated bodies floating midair, what appears to be the old owners of the stable. But Ned wasn't there to help them ease their thoughts. Without delay, Ned bit a skin of his finger and fed the dripping blood to Coco. A matter of second, Coco transformed into its adult form, cracks of lighting streaked all over his furry body. 






"Coco, take them as far away as possible," Ned asked Coco.






Groar!






With Coco's transformation, the two snapped, Toni and Naa'ri were back to themselves, just noticing random things floating in the air. "How did you…" Naa'ri wondered how Ned made Coco transformed into his mysterious form. 






"Ride with Coco, I'll come along," Ned said, looking at Toni with worry on his face. "Naa'ri you too." He ordered. 






"What about you!" Toni asked, gripping Coco's white fur with all her might. 






"I'll be fine, I'll tag along," Ned answered retracting a smile of assurance. "Go!"









"Uh," nodding, the two rode Coco. Blasting the timbered door, Coco sped off as far away as his vision could see. Cause even Coco felt the destruction the dragon bore. 






Ned was left with a sword and a wit at its end. His instinct kicked off the top, tried to ran, far-flung as he could. Ned saw grasses standing tall almost ten paces far from him. But when he's almost out of the blast zone, he ran but as slow as he could, his body felt like a stone attached in him. His weight doubled, no, even tripled. Sweat of desperation started afloat his fore. The gravity surge, played with the dragons gulp. 






It was the last piece of the Devourer's attack. By the name itself, it devour. Everything the first attacks had summed, was now being devoured. 






Everything that hovered midair was now being sucked inside the Devourer's mouth. Inside its mouth was an obvious representation of void. Dark, nothingness circled its jaw. 






"Shit!" Perplexed Ned. 






Ned, left with no choice, swung free and struck the Butterfly on the ground. He was now clipped, preventing himself from being sucked by the Devourer. Debris scratched his face, rocks to timber, metals to bricks, everything was moving on his way. 






Ned was now floating midair gripping the hilt of his sword. But it wasn't the end of the Devourer's attack. To end the agony, the Devourer will attack with a breath of blue molten fire. Ned knew this for he battled Devourer's a thousand times before. Judging from the position of the Devourer, which is almost forty meters away from Ned, he was still inside the blast zone. And if the scythe of death intervenes, after the breath, Ned would be left with nothing but ashes. 






As he predicted, the dragon started to channel its blue energy stored inside its bony chest. The blue energy creeped along its neck. Without delay, the Devourer spew energy amassed in its mouth. 






With a boom and a bang. Everything that stands on the dragons way exploded and melted, turning into ashes. 






With a molten breath coming its way, Ned cursed as he had no other way to survive the attack. Even if he used Overclock at full, the distance of the safe zone was far he could reach. "Shit!" He cursed the third. 






Seconds passed, the molten breath was sprayed right in front of Ned. Oozing and steaming hot blue molten lava. 






Before Ned could react. "Tower of an Endless Might!" a shout encompassed the remaining area where Ned holding his dear life. 






Almost four meters of broad white-light boomed its way protecting Ned from the dragons breathe. Moments later, a shadow of a man dotted the sky, getting closer and distinct, the man landed right in front of Ned. Wearing a full plate armor that shined blue from the dragons attack. He lifted his tower shield to increase the strength of the skill while he grip his sword from his right. "Third layer!" He shouted. 






Another layer of white light formed and stacked from the already casted spell. One, two, and three layer of illuminated shield stacked to battle the dragons breathe. 






"Sir Edwin," Ned said. Recognizing the man in front of him. With the shield casted, Ned slowly drifted down on the ground, ending the defying gravity attack of the Devourer. 






Without turning to Ned, Sir Edwin increased his shield by adding another layer. "Fourth layer!" He shouted. Adding not just one but two more layer of light magic. 






Sir Edwin's light brown hair danced in the ball of gleaming blue light. He used his right shoulder to support the tower shield, his left foot bore a hole on the ground supporting all his body while he shifts all his strength between his legs and shoulder. Veins almost popping out, Ned knew the knight was giving it all. 






Seconds past, the Devourer took off unbeknownst to the two. The dragon seemed to be at full, without caring about the distraction it laid waste. 






Particles from the shield slowly drifted off. Ending the skill Sir Edwin invoked from the start. "How are you kid," he said, darting an eye at Ned, laid on the ground. 






"Thank you, Sir Edwin," Ned replied.






"Ned!" Toni cried, revealing herself from the forest nearby. Coco now a fluffy fur balled in front of Naa'ri tagged along with Toni.



Naa'ri thought, what kind of people did I joined into. A mysterious girl, that if I fought, I will surely lose, and a Hollow kid whose brother must be called danger, he's always in action. And a cat, whose I'm after, which is not ordinary from the start, can transform into its mysterious  form with the help of Ned. I wondered how did Xi thought of them.

"I was supposed to be sent to earth. But I ended up in a completely different world. A world where magic exists. And here I thought I`m a Hollow - born without magic. That was until my system activated and guided me to embrace my past, deal with my present and prepare for my future."

"With the memory of my past, information from earth, and a bizarre world I`m in, my system will do everything to ensure my survival and venture the unknown. But first, I must deal with my past to move on, leave the island, and explore the world and become a Legend!"

"But how can I, if my Master is all weak and alone?"

"May the Maker have mercy upon my enemy, Because I won`t" - Ned, Becoming Legend.

Jaune Arc wanted to be a hero. To help people, protect them. But destiny had other ideas, unfortunately, and he was born with a body broken to the point he couldn't. Instead, he sought a different way to help people. If he could not wield the weapons of Man to protect Man, then he would make them for others to wield in his stead.

"That is a very accurate analysis." Sword Demon nodded in agreement to Coco's words.
"Still, you should know that I don't wish for you to do anything like that," Coco said.
"I know… Which is why you should treat this as me merely completing my 'Daily Mission'!" Sword Demon turned to head into the jungle after he had said this. He was just about to venture in when he stopped. "Oh, yeah. No need to tell anything to my comrades, either."
"I refuse…" Coco said this and left in the opposite direction, showing her back to Sword Demon's.

Gu Fei was walking along the muddy streets of Linyin City. The lush greenery in this city lent a serenity that was out of this world. Furthermore, the purity of the air made it utterly relaxing and refreshing. To think a wonderful place like this would have such a troublesome matter happening. What made this all the more annoying was the fact that this matter mainly impacted Sword Demon. Were this Gu Fei's problem, he could have free reign on how solve it, but precisely because it happened to be someone else's business, it made him feel anxious and powerless to achieve anything.
"Mister, I have equipment straight out of the forge; would you be interested in getting some?" Hearing someone ask this brought him back from the depths of his thoughts. It was rather amazing that someone had managed to get so near him without him even realizing it. However, he had never seen someone peddle wares like The Flower Girl[1]! Gu Fei thought of this and turned his head to check the person out, only to be greeted by a familiar face.
"Why is it you…" Gu Fei said.
"I should ask you the same question." Standing beside Gu Fei was, astonishingly, Xi Xiaotian.
"What are you doing here?" He observed his surroundings, looking to see if there was any victim within the vicinity that was hunting her down.
"It's rare for me to travel so far out here, and since there's no group activity holding me back, it's only natural for me to visit and sightsee the various cities of Parallel World," she stated.
"No city would welcome a walking disaster like you," he said.
"That's not necessarily true, for I often contribute to the market's thriving economy in the game! It is you, however, that has caused huge sweeping changes across the Five Unyielding Experts and Ten Great Adepts with just this one trip. These level losses have something to do with you, right?" Xi Xiaotian said.
"I have a clear conscience," Gu Fei said.
"So do I!" She laughed.
Gu Fei no longer had any words. A swindler would never feel ashamed of his or her action, so it only made sense for Xi XIaotian to be unburdened by guilt. This was a warped logic, but there was no rebuttal to it. Once more, he felt the urge to give her a good beating.
"Speaking of which, your emotions are very exposed. That's dangerous as it gives people like me a chance to capitalize on them," Xi Xiaotian said thusly. Gu Fei had also made sure to remove the camouflage paint on his face after leaving the tavern. Who would be willing to continue having their faces smeared when there was no longer any need for it, anyway?
"Is that so? Then, I'm sorry for making you worry about me," Gu Fei said rather indifferently. He was just about to leave when he heard someone go 'whoa, whoa, whoa'. The speaker then drew nearer.
"Whoa! This's too much! Everything has become like this, yet you are actually still in the mood to flirt with the ladies, you rascal!" Coco came stomping out from an alleyway as she made a beeline for Gu Fei.
"Where's Sword Demon? Isn't he with you?" Gu Fei looked around but did not spot the man anywhere.
"I was just looking for you guys! Sword Demon is about to kill off Broken Water Arrow," Coco said.
"That's great! Where is he? I'll head over to help!" Gu Fei instantly perked up after hearing this news.
"Great, my foot! Think of the consequences of such an act!" Coco berated.
Gu Fei wrinkled his eyebrows. He and Young Master Han had already deduced what would be the likely outcome of killing Broken Water Arrow, but if Sword Demon himself had made such a decision, it only meant that he was willing to forgo his friendship with Deep Waters just to protect the latter and his guild, right?
"That guy…" Gu Fei had no words for the man. He did not know if he should be touched by his actions or call him stupid!
"We need to find a solution – a perfect resolution!" Coco stared at him imploringly.
"I take it that you want us to find a solution where Sword Demon won't have to make such a sacrifice yet still prevent Broken Water Arrow's schemes from coming to fruition." Gu Fei made a summary of her request.
"Yup!" Coco looked earnestly.
"I'm not Ikkyu[2]…" Gu Fei answered.
"Oi. How can you still crack a joke at a time like this?!" Coco was infuriated when she saw his cavalier attitude.
"If the situation runs its course, your guild might collapse as a result of Broken Water Arrow's scheme, but Deep Waters would see Sword Demon's sincerity to him; meanwhile, hunting down Broken Water Arrow might prevent him from destroying your guild, but Sword Demon would ultimately lose Deep Waters' friendship. That's an option Sword Demon chose, and we both know how he must likely came to the decision without even a moment's hesitation. I'm sure he won't regret it as it leads to the conclusion he's hoping for the most. Maybe it's best if we respect his decision," Gu Fei said.
"What are you talking about? He was forced to make such a decision as well! Do you really think he wants this?!" Coco demanded.
"Lady. Surely, you know that it is precisely because there isn't a perfect resolution to this matter that he had made such a decision. If there's a perfect solution available, why will we be standing here like idiots?" Gu Fei asked.
"There's gotta be a solution!" Coco insisted.
"Reality is sometimes cruel." He was helpless.
"Uhm. Sorry to bother you…" Unable to bear it any longer, Xi Xiaotian interrupted the two. "The topic you two are discussing sounds really profound… Do you mind telling me what's all this about? I might be able to help."
"Who are you?" Coco asked.
"A swindler," Gu Fei interjected.
Coco was perplexed, yet Xi Xiaotian was unperturbed, even proudly adding, "And a professional one, too."
Gu Fei flared his nostrils and spat to display his disdain. Calling herself a swindler was already shameless enough; the fact that she actually felt pride toward the title made it really intolerable for him.
"Say…" Xi Xiaotian pointed to him as she spoke to Coco. "If even this man is unable to do anything about it, it's obvious that the trouble you're in is something where violence isn't the solution. Perhaps what you need is a bit of knowledge and smarts!"
"Do you really have a solution?" Coco asked.
"Don't be clutching at straws out of desperation!" Gu Fei warned.
The two ladies gave him the side eye, each exuding a thick killing intent.
"This is what happened…" Coco gave a quick rundown of the entire situation to her.
"It's too unprincipled," Gu Fei muttered at the side.
"So that's what's going on…" Xi Xiaotian nodded his head. "It's evident that the opponent this time has already homed in on the personality of this foolish guild leader; that's why he managed to tailor such a scheme that specifically targets your guild. Taking advantage of your guild's desire to emerge victorious in this upcoming City War, he presented something of great value to earn a favorable impression and expectation from the people involved. Once in, he strove to elevate the members' feelings for him to the point where they trust, depend, and even worship him. At the right time, this man would be able to replace that stupid guild leader's position in a single move. Such a plan would usually take a long period of time to come into fruition in real life, but because everything happens at an accelerated pace in games, and with how the skills of an individual can be very intuitively experienced by others, all it takes is a month for everything to reach the current stage."
"Your analysis is very well put," Coco commended.
"Of course, she's demonstrating her skills to earn your favorable impression and trust…" Gu Fei pointed out.
Nobody cared to bother with the man. Coco hurried to add, "Oh, and that foolish guild leader you keep referring to is my hubby."
"Is that so? He's quite capable to have developed the largest guild here in Linyin City," Xi Xiaotian remarked.
"Wow. Seriously?" Gu Fei was astonished. Was it not a little too obvious to instantly change her stance about Deep Waters from 'foolish' to 'capable'?
"One more thing; did you just say that this plan needs a month?" Coco asked.
Xi Xiaotian nodded. "Considering the environment a MMO provides, a month is already considered to be fast."
"But if the City War starts in a month's time, and he has yet to ruin our guild, won't that mean all his effort is for naught?" Coco asked.
"You're mistaken. He's not trying to ruin the guild but to usurp it, instead. He may not even reveal his intention to do so even when the City War begins. He'd seek to use your guild's manpower, material, and financial resources to obtain victory in this city-wide event. Consider this: Who will everyone think has the greatest contribution if you guys win that war?" Xi Xiaotian asked.
Gu Fei and Coco involuntarily looked at each other.
"Now that he has your trust, has become popular, and has even made large contributions, becoming the guild leader will be as easy as pie. After that, I'm afraid whatever benefit or boon you gain as the guild in control of the city will simply be irrelevant," Xi Xiaotian said.
"Indeed. That's the epitome of a perfectly crafted scheme," Coco agreed.
Xi Xiaotian shrugged. "Also, how can you say for sure that he's the one who discovered you guys tailing him? It's possible for him to have accomplices."
"Accomplices?" Coco was stunned.
"This sort of plan, especially in games where guilds exist in a relatively simple and casual environment, needs helpers. There's bound to be a bunch of people who have infiltrated your guild with him. That's to make sure to spread word of his existence and to promote his status among the players time and again. If he is being extremely cautious, it's not impossible for him to designate a few men to take note of his surroundings as he goes about doing his business," Xi Xiaotian said.
Gu Fei was shocked by this. While they were stalking Broken Water Arrow, the man kept to the small fringe groups within the training region. There were players all around them, so avoiding the gazes of those men were not possible. That was why the two could only focus on avoiding detection from Broken Water Arrow as they continued to act as if they were passing by or in the middle of training when others saw them. It would not be all that strange for some of those people to act as Broken Water Arrow's eyes upon discovering their true intention.
Speaking of which, Gu Fei and Sword Demon were careful enough during all that and kept at least a 10-meter distance from their target. Gu Fei had been wondering just how Broken Water Arrow detected them, so the explanation Xi Xiaotian gave helped answer this perfectly.
"I don't recall other players joining the guild with Broken Water Arrow," Coco said.
"Joining together will too conspicuous, so I doubt he'd do something like that. But members who have joined the guild a short time before or after are all suspicious," Xi Xiaotian said.
"Hey!" Gu Fei suddenly recalled something. "Don't Rice Soup and White Sand fit the bill?" Those two were new additions to the guild; it would make sense if they were Broken Water Arrow's accomplices. They must have exposed themselves the instant Coco introduced them with their bogus identities to Broken Water Arrow.
"No, it can't be those two," Coco denied immediately.
"Actually, it doesn't have to be a recruit. It can also be long-time members who have been lying in wait inside the guild. There's also the possibility of someone getting bribed, too," Xi Xiaotian said.
"Bribed?" Gu Fei found this situation getting more and more ridiculous.
"That's right. If the mastermind is a workshop or other profit-based organization, bribery won't be off the table in terms of the actions they take," Xi Xiaotian added.
