The whole class clapped after Jiang Chen's introduction. Mr. Parked smiled and gave a shake hand to Jiang Chen. Addressing the entire class, Mr. Parker said lightly," You guys should consider yourself as Euro Million winners to be taught by Mr.Jiang Chen. He is one of the renowned researchers of Harvard University. He also published numerous books,articles and journals.So, make sure that you guys utilize this opportunity well and gain required knowledge. Don't trouble Mr.Jiang. If I ever receive any complaint, your credits will be reduced and disciplinary punishment will be severe. So, make sure you behave well".

Feng Mian felt like crying out. She looked at Zaw and said, "What's wrong with everyone today ? They have a smile plastered on their lips all the time but either their aura or coldness gives a serious warning. Earlier it's Icey ...Now Mr.Parker !! Both of their body language gives a strange vibe"

"Stop acting like a cry baby !! There is a lot more to come. This is just beginning", he responded helplessly. 

After giving few more instructions, Mr. Parker pointed towards Ziyi and said, "Icey !! You are the course rep and STEM rep. Mr. Jiang is new to the university. Assist him regarding timetable adjustments or Course works". 

Ziyi nodded in agreement and replied, "I will". Jiang Chen chuckled and mockingly said, " Then, I may trouble miss Zhang in the near future..Please don't find me to be troublesome"

'This fellow !!', Ziyi cursed inwardly. But in front of the HOD, she gritted her teeth and plastered a fake smile, "Please don't be ceremonious prof. Jiang. Feel free to ask me whatever you need help with!! I will try my best to assist you". After listening to her reply, Mr.Parker nodded and walked out of the lecture theater.
 
"Thanks miss Ziyi. Then meet me after the lecture now. I need to have a discussion with you"

"okay", Ziyi replied coldly and sat in her seat. Feng Mian, Zaw and Aseem remained quiet contemplating who should initiate a conversation with Ziyi. Finally, Aseem and Mian pushed Zaw next to Ziyi to speak with her. On the other end, Jiang Chen was looking at the lecture slides, Mian and Zaw swapped the seats.

"Stop sulking...Mian is scared to death. Aseem is trembling already. Do you want to kill everyone with your coldness ?", Zaw complained.

"Why is here ?why didn't anyone update me that he is back in the UK ?", Ziyi asked in a serious tone.

"They sent you an email in the afternoon. You didn't check it. I called and texted so that you will be mentally prepared before coming to the class. But, you didn't respond", Zaw answered calmly. In fact, he called her several times but she didn't respond. None of them expected that Jiang Chen would be back in the UK, that too as a professor at HBS. Three of them knew that it's not a coincidence. But with the current things in their plate, it's going to be really hard for Ziyi.

Ziyi cupped her eyes tightly with her palms feeling tired. After 20 seconds, she opened her eyes. She could see Jiang Chen's radiant smile fixed on her. His eyes showed deep yearning and they always display a gentleness when they see her. They seem to be deeper than sea and anyone who stares at his eyes could be easily absorbed into them.

Lost in her deep thoughts, Ziyi snapped back to reality and hit her head..."Ziyi!! what's wrong with you !! why are you thinking about that guy ?? Remember....he is not yours to begin with !!"

For five long years, without giving upon a single day, he searched for her !!

[[This chapter dives into their past a bit! Well, high school. About Halfway through the writing will be different, I hope it doesn't mess you up to much! <3 ]] 

Kaia swayed slowly to the music. She didn't know when or how Alex had pulled her into his embrace, or even when she had started dancing along with him. Her chin rested on Alex's left shoulder, while her left hand rested on his right shoulder. She could feel Alex's warmth through the palm of her right hand, which was placed in Alex's left hand. Her cheeks started to tingle with warmth as her mind stirred with the realization of what was going on. The area around the small of her back also started to feel warmer by the minute as she continued to sway along.

Alex looked at her and softly exhaled. Dipping his head down next to her, he suddenly whispered, "Kaia...look at me, please…" Startled, Kaia looked up. Kaia gazed up into Alex's mesmerizing blue eyes. His eyes looked like they did back in the old days. It only reflected her, like she was the only one in the world. Except for this time, there was a trace of longing and something else, which she couldn't entirely make out. Kaia slowed down as she heard the song ending. 

Noticing Kaia's attempt to break free from his embrace, he gently tightened his grip on her hand and pulled her closer. With a wistful smile, he said, "Let's keep dancing. I don't think we ever had a chance to dance since we married. Plus, the next song is our favorite..."

~~THE PAST~~

~THE PAST~
    
It was during Year 12 of Upper Secondary School (3rd/junior year of high school).

After almost 9 years overseas because of a study abroad program, Alex finally returned to the U.K. He originally planned to come back to the U.K. after finishing middle school (9th grade in terms of the U.S. or Year 10 in terms of the U.K.), but his parents insisted on having him attend at least one year of high school in South Korea before making a final decision to return. So reluctantly, as per his parents' wishes, he stayed in South Korea for another year. He never would've expected that following his parents' demands would be the best decision he ever made, as well as the reason why he wanted to return to the U.K. even more.

That was because the summer after his first year of high school, he indeed became hesitant to return to the U.K. His parents who had plans to pair him up with Mi Sung—a hailed goddess at her middle school due to her beauty, brains, as well as family backing—were thrilled by their son's change of heart. Little did they know that his plans would not only change again, but he would fall in love with the "wrong" girl.

Kaia and Alex officially met again during summer break in Korea. Kaia wanted adventure, and since her father had a business meeting with some directors for a movie contract deal. She decided to travel with him, making it out as if to learn the business. 

Kaia took every chance she had to site see and walk around the area she was staying at, her final destination being the beach nearby. She slowly walked on a cluster of boulders standing at the end. Watching the waves crash over and over.

The darkness closed around her. She heard someone speaking behind her, but it was Korean, so she didn't pay any attention. Then the voice started to get louder and closer. Kaia raised a brow and turned to see what was going on, only to be face to face with a guy. The main features being, beautiful blue eyes, and blonde hair. He wore a black wetsuit and carried a red beach towel.

Kaia blinked looking at him then around her, wondering if he was actually talking to her. She read a few books, and her Korean wasn't that great. Only picking up a few words, Kaia shook her hands in front of her with a confused expression. "Wait! Slow down. My Korean isn't the best, "she explained not entirely sure if he'd understand. He didn't look Korean, so she hoped.

The male stopped and cleared his throat, "I was saying the waves become rougher at night. You shouldn't be on the rocks."
Kaia smiled lightly."His accent being strong and sticking out.

Surprised, Kaia smiled with a nod, "oh-- okay, thanks."The wind blew her soft curls around and over her face. Brushing some stray hairs behind her ears, Kaia began to climb back to the beach. 

Now standing beside the male, she looked over him. "Are you from the UK?" she asked tilting her head. The male nodded, "yea, from the sound of it you are too. Let's see; you have to be from the city. You don't have a country twang to your words."

Kaia nodded a big smile appearing on her face."Yes! I didn't expect to meet someone from the UK here, "She rubbed her arms lightly. Nodding, the male watched her. Kaia felt a bit awkward, so she held her hand out, "I'm Kaia." 

"Alex. "The male said, a smile finally forming on his face as he shook her hand.

It didn't take long for them to bond. They met at the beach almost every night, taking turns listening to each others iPods and talking. Every day they got closer and closer. Towards the final week of Kaia's stay in Korea, Kaia received a note to meet Alex on the boulders. 

Kaia stood there for hours. The night was chilly, and the wind from the sea didn't help. A depression fell upon her around the time she figured Alex wasn't coming. Kaia let out a sigh, but just as she did, she felt a hard shove as she went face first into the water. 

Kaia emerged with a gasp flailing her arms, only to be knocked back under by another wave. She was always sheltered, so she never learned to swim. The salt water made her eyes burn, wasn't as if she could see anyways. She tried to come back up, but another wave rolled her around underwater until she was slammed against the rocks. Then everything went dark.


While unconscious, the person who pushed her called out for help after a few minutes. Alex and a few school friends where little ways across the beach, so when he heard a cry of help in that area he quickly sprinted.

While waiting for emergency vehicles to arrive he done CPR. He didn't stop until she was in an ambulance. 

Alex went to the hospital, where they took Kaia and waited. Her father arrived shortly after. Seeing Alex, he was ready to explode, but the doctor came out with a report. Kaia's father turned to Alex, " Thank you for saving her, but leave and don't come near her again." His voice was harsh and deep. Alex had no other option but to leave.

It was the day before Kaia had to jump on a plane and fly back to the UK. She was dressed in a sparkly blue evening gown, and her hair was pulled up in a curly updo. She wore crystal-studded earrings that twinkled in the lights. 

Kaia accompanied her father to his business conference/event. There were many stars, directors, and other CEO's. One of them being Alex's father, who was followed by Alex. 

Kaia walked around with her father meeting different people. Alex caught sight of her first. He did a double take at first, shocked. Alex tapped his father lightly on the back of the arm leaning in."Father, who are they?" he asked pointing towards Kaia and her father. 

Alex's father turned his head and groaned, a look of disgust coming to his face."That's the Crestfalls; They own the rival company in the UK, "he explained before walking up. He pulled Alex with him as well. Even though Alex wants to protest, he followed.

His father smirked, "Crestfall! Have you met my boy, Alex! He's been studying to take over." Just the name Alex made Kaia's head jerk up to look. Her eyes widened, and she stood once again, face to face with Alex.  Their fathers went back and forth, but the two just stood. Staring.

After the event, Kaia was put on a plane and was firmly told to keep her distance from the sabors. He knew they met each other often and he swore to put an end to it.

School started back two weeks after she returned. She didn't expect to see him again and yet; there he was in the front of her classroom as a transfer student.

 At first, there was avoidance between the two. Kaia was lectured many times to stay away from him, especially after they spent time during the summer. 

Kaia found it hard to stay away; sometimes she even caught herself staring at him. She sighed and leaned on her desk holding her chin up with her arm. 

Naomi who was seated next to her poked her in the side. "Kaia…" She whispered, breaking away Kaia's gaze. Blinking, Kaia turned her head to look at Naomi who was smirking. "You have eyes for sabor?" Just hearing this Kaia blushed sitting straight in her chair. "I don't know what you're talking about.."She said as she cleared her throat. Naomi couldn't help but to laugh a little before she stood as the bell rang. 

Naomi quickly grabbed her bag. "Are you coming?" She asked as Kaia stood from her desk. Kaia smiled slightly shaking her head. "Not today, It's my turn to help with the class chores." She said as she stuffed all of her books in her bag. The students didn't waste time leaving; soon the class was empty. Kaia walked to the front of the class to begin cleaning off the chalkboard. 

Naomi walked up beside her. "Well, I have to head out. I have a date tonight! I will call you after."She said with a small hug before skipping out the door. "Bye!" she said before fully leaving the scene. Kaia sighed softly with a smile. If only she could feel like that about someone… In the open. Her mind traveled to Alex, biting her lip as her hand circled the board with the eraser.

As Kaia cleaned the board, she hummed a particular tune. One that she and Alex had listened to so many times together. 

Alex stood at the classroom door, leaning against the frame as he watched Kaia. He had one of his earplugs in his ear, listening to the same song she was singing. He couldn't help but to smirk at the thought. She still thought of him, and this was proof. Alex slowly snuck into the classroom and up behind Kaia who was struggling to reach the top of the chalkboard.

 Alex smiled and reached up his hand taking hers as he leaned in speaking softly in her ear. "Boo." Kaia let out a screech as she shuddered and turned while holding her chest. Kaia took a deep breath looking at Alex who now cornered her to the wall. She blushed deeply, her eyes searching over him. "A..lex.."She muttered lightly, his name almost coming out as a whisper. Alex leaned in softly kissing her lips. 

Kaia's eyes widened as she gently clutched his school blazer pushing him back a little. "Alex! We can't do this!" She exclaimed, even though her heart ached for him. Alex leaned in closer, his arms wrapping around her. "Kaia, That's our song… Don't act like you don't have any feelings left," He whispered as he grazed her lips once more with his. This time she gave in and kissed him back. The song from his earphones could be heard louder as the room was really quiet.

Kaia Crestfall is the youngest CEO of Crestfall Industries, a leading business in the entertainment world. But despite being capable of such a high position, she still needs to constantly watch her back. Especially with a fiance who has ulterior motives…

This time the scene depicted was the girl and dead dog, but different to before, they were both surrounded by rats. The rats feasted upon the flesh of the dead dog and nibbled away at the girl's legs.
Perhaps she had felt the pain when she was bitten, her eyelids trembled slightly. She weakly opened her eyes and discovered the rats who'd greedily bitten onto her legs. Startled, she used what little strength she had, she kicked them off her legs and swatted away the ones that feasted on the dead dog's body.
When she looked at the dead dog's open wounds, it triggered her survival instincts and overwrote the companionship she'd built up with the pitiful half eaten dog that only just recently met his demise. Like she'd just seen moments before, she learned by example and imitated the same actions the rats had taken. She bit into the dead dog the best she could then ripped and tore at its flesh. Her mental faculties had long been overridden by her hunger and she was unable to differentiate between food and her recently deceased companion at this time.
She chewed what she could and swallowed what she couldn't. She nearly choked a few times, but she drank the dogs blood as a means to force it all down and stay hydrated.
I couldn't help but wonder who this poor child was and what kind of events had transpired to push her into such a precarious state. I thought deeply over it, but in the end, I still didn't remember anything before I entered this never ending darkness.
Once the child ate her full, she fell onto her back and remained there motionless. When she came to her senses she sobbed and weeped to herself when she realized what she'd just done. The only thing audible in the mansion were her cries of despair and self hatred. The scene continued for some time until she fell sick from the uncooked raw dog meat she'd eaten. She inevitably passed out from the pain caused by indigestion.
Similar to before, the bubble popped when the girl lost consciousness.
The next bubble showed the girl when she woke up again. Again, rats bit at her and ate away at the remains of the dead dog. She repeated the process again, but this time the blood had all dried up and spilled everywhere. She choked on a piece of the dog meat and passed out again. When she fell to the ground the shock from the fall dislodged the piece of dog meat stuck in her throat, but she still passed out due to the impact to her head.
Pop.
The next bubble showed when the girl regained consciousness for the third time. The rats were back, but this time, all that remained were bits and pieces of the dead dog's bones. There was no longer anything for the girl to eat. She was now left starved, in a severely weakened state, and clearly fatally ill.
Instinctively to survive, the girl grabbed onto one of the rats that daringly nibbled away at her leg. The rat had certainly long noticed she'd regained consciousness, yet it still greedily devoured her flesh despite the rat's better judgement on previous occasions. It likely believed the girl was incapable of any form of retaliation by this point and it naively thought of her as a free meal.
Unfortunately, against this pitiful rat's expectations, the little girl savagely smashed it's head against the ground after she grabbed it. The rat's skull was instantly crushed under the force of the collision and it immediately died with one last anguished squeak. His fellow rats fled in all directions, terrified of the little girl who'd been pushed into a corner. Left with no other choice, the child, barbarically ripped into the rat's flesh and tore a chunk of meat off and swallowed. Like a savage beast she chugged the rat's blood directly from it's carcass and forced the rancid rat meat down her throat with the assistance of the blood.
Depicted in several subsequent bubbles were many recurrences of this brutally grotesque scene. The longer I watched as she suffered through the pain that came with such unsanitary meals, the more I realized how her body at some point had gradually changed and adapted to it. With how lifeless her eyes were, I couldn't understand what pushed her to struggle to survive in such precarious conditions.
After about a year of repeating the same pattern of eating and passing out, the little girl added another critter to her cuisine. Cockroaches and any other small insects that crawled about the mansion were by no means off limits to her. In fact, it seemed she preferred them over the tough rat meat.
It was truly miraculous how she'd somehow adapted to her environment the way she had. Eventually, the little girl ventured outside the mansion's grounds into the surrounding forest where she found a source of clean water. No more blood at long last after an entire year. She broke down into tears when she finally found that supply of clean water.
The water and electricity to the mansion had long been cut off at some point before I'd started my observation of the little girl. Her discovery eliminated the necessity for rat blood with her meals and she was finally able to clean herself up as well.
Any injuries her body sustained healed rapidly, much faster than normal humans after everything she'd been through. Her body's metabolism was far superior to your plain old average joe due to how often she'd been bitten and injured over the last year. I was truly flabbergasted by the incredible development of her immune system. How she'd survived all alone like this inside an abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere left me awestruck and astonished.
When she finally had time to catch her breath after she'd grown accustomed to her harsh daily lifestyle she started reading through the countless books littered about the rooms of the mansion in her spare time. It was truly fortunate she knew how to read and she learned all sorts of different things by browsing through the various books available to her.
There were many nights where she suffered through the freezing cold, completely isolated from the outside world; but thanks to the knowledge she acquired in the books she read, she finally learned different methods to start a fire using the materials inside the mansion and forest. She read through many different survival books and cookbooks in her free time; a result of those efforts was she'd learned how to prepare all sorts of different dishes for herself to enjoy.
When her life grew more stable, to the point where survival wasn't the only thought on her mind, I found her on several occasions blankly sitting by a window inside the mansion looking up into the night sky for hours on end all alone by herself. Her eyes which had regained some semblance of life often drowned in sorrow whenever she thought back to her past.
She often called out and pleaded for her mother, father and big sister to return. While on other occasions, she curled herself up into a ball and held her head with her hands while she repeatedly muttered to herself how everything was her fault. She was to blame. She killed them all. Over and over again. Day after day, night after night. When she wasn't trying to survive, she was constantly haunted by her memories. Sometimes, she prostrated herself in front of three graves. She smashed her head against the ground while she weeped and shed countless tears; simultaneously, she apologized and begged them to come back.
She'd gained too much leeway and she now suffered through an endless spiral of guilt, self hatred and resentment.
The process continued on and on, countless times and I realized her mental state that had slightly recovered became gradually more twisted and warped, until it eventually drove her to the brink of insanity.

Transported to another world, our hero must thwart the evil demon lord where levels rule all-

This isn’t some damn generic isekai!

But if we don’t market it as one, nobody will read it. Look man, isekai to web novels are what thots are to twitch. If you’re not doing isekai, you may as well just jump off a cliff, die, and pray to all the gods above that you reincarnate as a beautiful cat girl. Isekai is like a slice of humble American Pie. It’s like the child you never wanted, but after you stuck your dick in that glorious isekai pie once, you immediately realized you could never pull out again or ever be satisfied with anything else except for that hot garbage.

I know, I get it, the masses demand le isekai, but we can’t sell out.

Look man, just put isekai in the title and see if it makes a difference. Just call it a social experiment or some BS.

It's finally over... The shoot is finally over...

Kiara slumped a bit as she got out of the room where the photo studio was, exhausted from trying to stay still for the camera.

With an exchange of "good work today" along with a bow, Kiara and her manager Kotori headed out of the building and onto the next scheduled activity. Which was a radio program where she's gonna be a guest on at a radio station which will take them around half an hour to get to by car.

Kiara continued her thoughts about the reason why she was invited as a guest as they made their short and quite trip to the radio station as if she was really confused even though the reason behind was already quite obvious.


each and every singke one  of the inside of the sound proof room where they did their multiple shows all the proper equipment insde of each, from expensive looking microphones attached to some arms that acted as their stands to the sound boards that they used for playing sound effects and a computer where they play the song that they broadcast.

Each one also had it's own sound booth where the audio engineers would control how loud the microphone and the music where making sure that they weren't too loud that the other wouldn't be that audible.

"You must be, Miss Kiara, right?"

A woman in her early twenties that looked like the host of the radio show that she'll be on bowed towards Kiara and her manager as she sees them enter the soundproof room.

It's been quite a while now since she left the swimsuit gravure shoot that's gonna be used for promotion for her debut as a solo artist along side a famous model that happened to join the shoot because she had an empty slot on her schedule after she arrived back at the agency from her shoot for a famous cologne brand in a studio somewhere in Los Angeles, USA.

And now the interview for the radio show that Kiara had went to as a guest was now also about to finish when the female host randomly decided to ask the question: "What did you think of when you were performing at the winter concert?"

Kiara's thought about this completely random  question was: "Was my smile while I was performing stiff?"

She was rather reluctant to answer the host's question because of it being a little bit private...

But with a quick inhale from her mouth she answered: "I was thinking about what if my parents didn't make me transfer here and just let me stay in england."

"I didn't know you were a transfer student from the UK... What's like growing up there?"

The host added with now a curious look in her eyes signaling Kiara who was sat across the soundproof table to think of a good answer to reply with, She had placed a finger under her chin as if she was thinking really hard.


"Well..." She paused for a little bit and continued: "That's a really hard question to answer since my parent's didn't really let me go outside of the house because of the fear that I someone might kidnap me or I might get myself into a accident so I didn't really exprience the outside world except when I was dropped off at school." She finished her answer with a blank expression on her face which had previously been a happy one.

"I see... You're parents really cared about you..." The host's expression was a mix of pity and intrugue towards the young pink-haired foreigner.

"Well, Thanks for coming today." The host smiled at Kiara before saying: "That's it for the interview of the new idol Kiara Alcott." before pressing a button on the control panel in front of her which had serveral buttons on it making the show go into a commercial break before letting her out of the sound proof room.

She looks and talks  like a princess from a fairy tale...

The radio host thought letting Kiara leave the room that had a lot of soundproofing done to it.

A big deal was made after Kiara had her radio interview on a radio show about music when she arrived at the international school that her parent's arranged for her to attend...

Some of her classmates who listens to the radio show that Kiara got a interview on immediatley surrounded her as she sat at her desk which was two rows of desks away from the front of the room where the blackboard and the teacher's lecturn was.

Her classmates also wanted autographs from her but a teacher had already entered the room and they were forced to take their sits to not get in trouble.

They finally left me alone...

Kiara sighed taking out a classical japanese book from her bag because of the first subject of that day being classical japanese.

The same people in her class kept on approaching her and the desk that sat at asking a lot of questions, some were random like: "When is your first single coming out?" and "You said on that radio show that you weren't allowed to leave your house back in the UK without permission, is that true?"

The day went on like this everytime that the teacher had left their classroom, she was treated like a small animal at a zoo.

Why can't they just leave me alone....?

There were also a group that didn't like that Kiara was getting most of the attention but decided to just keep quite and not do anything because her mother was a member of the school's board of directors and they could get expelled for bullying or harrassing her.

Youngho met Sanderson, the Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service, last time he visited London. Although they could talk on the phone, Sanderson wanted to meet Youngho, so he visited London after his work was finished in Sweden.
The reason that he wanted to see Youngho was to provide a special loan for the autonomous state and to make it a strong ally of the British Intelligence Service. It was called a special loan, but it was basically free money that the state could use. Youngho politely declined the offer because he did not want to lean on the UK too much.
The purpose of the loan was to buy intelligence equipment for the autonomous state's intelligence department because the costs of related equipment exceeded a year's expense of the whole state. The loan was offered to relieve the state's burden. On top of that, Sanderson promised that he would provide British military satellite services and various electronic equipment with a high-performance level of a supercomputer.
It was tempting, but Youngho had to give it up since the British Intelligence Service would naturally start interfering with the autonomous state's work if he took the offer.
Sanderson, who was not happy about Youngho's rejection, visited the Arirang Autonomous State today.


"Mr. Sanderson, you must've gone through the trouble to travel this far. How was your trip?"
 
"I had a comfortable trip because you sent me a luxury jet to Baku, Duke. Thank you."

Sanderson returned home happily saying that he would send different types of equipment as well as personnel to install and operate them immediately. Since the UK was not a neighboring nation, the friendship between the autonomous state and the UK would not be broken so easily. Neighboring countries could only be tied to their interests, so often times their alliance was easily broken. That was why a nation had to grow its force to maintain the balance of power with the neighboring countries, or it would be overtaken by others.
Anyway, with the equipment provided by the UK, the autonomous state would be building a trusty relationship with the UK by gathering and sharing information of Central Asian countries. By establishing this relationship, the UK would be gaining a bridgehead in Central Asia through the autonomous state. For now, the autonomous state would have to maintain good relations with the UK which may be a quite substantial friendly force.


"Hey, Chief Sanderson surely promised us to provide military satellite data?"

"Yes. How many times do I have to tell you?"

"I can't believe it. This is too good. With that technology, we'd be able to see everything around the world from our state."

"They will probably give us only the data from Central Asia."

After the first successful exploration into space outside of our system, the countries who warred over resources made an alliance with the promise that they will go find a new planet to colonise.

Of course, the millennia war took a toll on the Earth, starting from 2116 to 3034 it left many places in ruins. Unfortunately technology stagnated to the point that some countries even went backwards in advancement, using cheap but indestructible phones, transportation that runs off of the banned fossil fuels, the technology really digressed. 

What no one foresaw was at the start of the wars of the Allies and the Axis is that one of the leading countries decided to be a bystander. The United Kingdom had a very favourable position in the world in time during wars. The rest of the countries did not really mind all that much, as since they dwell on an Island they will surely run out of resources very quickly, but the reality made them feel sour. The United Kingdom became a paradise of sorts and never once interacted in the wars even until the very end. In fact they were the ones who proposed 'peace' in the form of armed technology that the rest of the world has never seen before. But of course most people weren't willing, but they were when the UK announced that they have made progress in space and will offer spaceships that will allow for galactic exploration on the terms that each country settles on a new planet. 

They all hesitated but in the end they relented and took a few hundred years to absorb the technology given to them and to recreate it into their own, that was also a condition as the UK wouldn't just share technology it had been working on for a millennia for free. A few hundred years after the war, 3400,  the only country left on the planet was the UK. They then colonised the rest of the planet but under very specific conditions. Each continent can only have 1 Mega City which is 1 million km², 3 Super Cities which are 250 thousand km², 10 regular cities which is 100 thousand km² and 100 small cities that are 10 thousand km² each. This would take 26,250,000 km² of the Earth's land mass, which leaves the rest of the Earth, 483,850,000 km² left for either nature or agriculture. Therefore the earth just looks like a green and blue sphere with blobs of metal at different parts of the Earth, much more optimistic than other situations.

Within the capital of Earth, London, in a room in a skyscraper there was around 100 people. These were the UK's most-renowned and skilled pro league players, UK Royals, which was actually organised by the still standing Royal Family. Of course they were not just British as there are people who have plenty of other nationalities here. However over the course of millennia which reaches the current year 5506, a new race of sorts had begun to emerge which is the accumulation of years of reproduction between many nationalities but a strange occurrence happens within their DNA. When born they can have vastly different genetic makeups to their parents, e.g the Mother and Father could both have brown hair but the child ends up with green hair. That is another trait of this Era, people come in all different colours, literally.

They were all gathered around a holographic screen that displays quality thousands of time better than things like 32k pixel quality, it is literally like looking at real things. Of course technology would need to progress this fast, as eyesight and other senses have evolved incredibly to the point that they could see pixels in a 32k pixel screen. They were watching an advertisement that appeared a few days ago that rocked the whole galaxies, the introduction of Niva technology and the World of Niva.

Advertisements are much longer now as well, however human sense of time has changed. Due to the increasing life spans of where it is not uncommon for someone to reach 1000 years old even in an average household, people's perception of time had changed and therefore the advertisements accommodate that.

The screen showed a world that was all green and blue where you can see other planets from the ground of this lush planet. The World of Niva is set in a medieval-style period where the existence of mana is what propels the advancement of humans. Scientific technology is extremely behind, using ancient objects such as feather and ink, coal to power factories and introduction of cars that are similar to that of the Rolls Royce Phantom Limousine in the 1920s. The technology is very rarely used though as it only brought disadvantages when compared to mana-technology that is much better in quality and brings no disadvantages. Every being in the World of Niva has mana and they have the ability to control mana somewhat, atleast.

There is 12 playable races from the start of this game. Each race has an opportunity to evolve into another race at various levels, which means players are not limited to just these races. Within the World of Niva there are hundreds of races and some races that have not even been discovered. Dungeons allow players to earn EXP and gain items that would usually be very hard to get when killing monsters in the wild. The NPCs are incredibly realistic and the only way to know if it is a player or not would be through the use of the player tags (PT) above their heads, but there are named NPCs which are important characters and may mix with the players, and if it never told you it was an NPC, you would very likely think it was a player. NPCs also have the use of the [System] that is also granted to players.

The screen started zooming in on various areas of the map. Showcasing the different empires and kingdoms spread across the World of Niva. The human empire that thrives with many races, the demon kingdoms that are shrouded with darkness, and the other kingdoms. You could see new races which are unplayable but possibly able to evolve into, in fact if you meet certain prerequisites then there isn't a race you cannot evolve into. It zoomed in onto the Beastmen cities that looked like a massive market with dirty buildings, and then it went to a Kingdom of Faeries where a beautiful Queen and King were busy doing their own things, and then showed the Elves who looked like taller Faeries without the pretty wings but carried a more noble temperament. After going through all the different Kingdoms and places of interest, the advertisement continued onto the advertisements scheduled afterwards.

Huh? Another text from boss.. Guess I wont have this day to myself whats the point of them assigning me free days if its going to get soaked up by some asshole who doesn't want to do his job? 

Looking down at the text received he swiftly drew breath. 'Get over here your on the clock when you arrived. David just quit on us!' 

Quit? But why? David has always been resolved with keeping his job. Finding work these day was like trying to find diamonds in mud. 

Even if that's odd. Azural signed pinching his nose and tightly closing his eyes, head tilted ever so slightly to the right. An annoyed frown replaced his poker face. Damnit, this is torturous.

Picking up his jacket wallet and phone he opened his apartment door. Looking back at his small apartment. Small, but livable. Its been a few years since he purchased it. Small kitchen to the left, living room to the right, maybe size of a medium shed. Ahead a bathroom and his small bed room.

Taking a deep breath, he closed the door. Staring down a long corridor that ran maybe 20 meters with a door on each side every 3 meters. With the world now, you'd expect these halls to be clean. 

To at least look moderately nice, such is not thee case. Its the year 2074, the world is over populated and cities are pacted to the brim with workers and homeless. These halls once having clean red carpet and nice tan walls. Now the red has lost most its color, looking more yellowish. Tan walls peeling and old with mold.

People without homes rest in tents, trash and whatever clothing they can. Outside is no different other than its best to wear mask. As the pollution is through the roof.

Just reaching the lobby by stairs always forced depression on him. So many people, so many sick. This is one sick world of ours, sometimes i don't feel so bad, perhaps i'm just numb to it?

That aside looking out past the surprisingly clean lobby proved a mistake. Outside buildings stretch far into the skies, so far in fact that yellow pollution clouds hang low enough to engulf the towers. Whats worse? I don't even know what the sky looks like. I know there is a sun, i know there are stars and a moon. But that's from videos and books or electronic books.

The yellow fog is so thick that flood lights are constantly used to help. Its mandatory to wear gas mask outside. Less you want to be killed by the pollution and trust me you don't last a week out there, that's why there is so many homeless within a lot of the hotels, and apartment buildings. 

Slipping on over his had and attaching the canisters. Azural walks on to the sidewalk. Cars and buses beep and busy rushing around. Such is the way of traffic, turning right he made his way along the crowds. Ever sen those foggy towns where you can only see 20 feet ahead of you? Ya imagine that, just in a New York styled city, the fog is yellow and its almost entirely dark, even if its actually noon. 

Yep that's my situation right now or for the rest of my life. Azural is 6'1" bit of big oof ya know? That said he held light brown eyes almost like warm autumn. Dirty blonde hair short in length. Never liked hair very much, always keep it at least an inch or two. Or maybe 4. Bah who cares.

Again? Mumbling under his breath whilst pulling his phone out. From boss 'Where are you?'
Responding he typed up a reply and sent it, before looking up and narrowing avoiding one of those rude shoulder clashings. Urgs hat some folks, not long after did he hear another buzz.

Azural 'on my way like 5 minutes.'

Boss 'Make it two or we will have problems'

Really? No wonder David quit, boss is in his asshole moods today, how lovely. Thanks David now i gotta deal with the boss. S much for a free day, maybe i should request a raise or something. 

"Hey look out!" 

Azural looked up to see what the commotion had been. Only then did he realize that he had long track of where he had been going. Too late all last thing he heard had been a long drawn out..

Uuk and Urah both brothers, yet Urah happens to be older and chieftain of wolf fang tribe. Today marks the day of tradition. Uuk had already arranged 20 warriors to follow him. Where as Urah gathered 3 baskets of many items, gold jewelry, weapons, books, food and human alcohol. Tribulation is in order. For over 200 years the orc tribes has worshiped the stone god. Each competing for blessings.

Wolf fang tribe happen to be the biggest with hundreds of warriors under their wing. Today had been their day to pay tribute. Humans have been very acetate as of late. Wanting to breach the stone gods home. Or what they dare call a dungeon.

They would not allow it! 

Urah planted his hand on Uuk's broad shoulders. "May the stone god bless the best of our fighters.. Lets hope this is enough to please him.

War is on the rise brother be quick, do not keep the stone god waiting."

Nodding diligently both parted before he looked over his small battle group. " Come stone god awaits us!"

With battle cries they followed, their trek short, as they descend into the stone gods lair. 

The dungeon itself has 5 layers with the stone god being at the lowest level. Each layer has its own defenses and to get to the next floor you must cross to the opposite side of each entrance to a layer. Maybe tedious. Granted it was built to last and to survive invasions. 

The orcs had already dismantled most traps, with a few exceptions. Such as treasure trove within the dungeon or secrets that lay well hidden. 

It took at least 15 minutes to cross an entire layer running and triple that should you try walking. Uninterrupted of course. 

Once these halls, corridors, rooms used to be trapped and had plenty of enemies. But no longer as the orc tribes have cleared it out to allow safe travel and for other reasons.

Such as a place to fall back to.

Uuk looked ahead having reached the 5th floor after an hour of running. Even reaching near the end of the last layer, there it was. Large 15 foot thick reinforced oak doors. Closed shut, with their combined strengths all 20 orcs pushed open the gates. As they did so, Uuk looked past the growing gap in the gate. 

It never gets old, each year they pay tribute to the stone god. In return they receive his blessing if the tribute is good enough.

Before them great pillars reach up holding the ceiling aloof. Tattered coat of arms lay draped down the massive stone pillars. Not to mention the tattered red carpet that runs between these pillars. This was a throne room built for a giant. At the very end, stone a titanous stone throne. Its carvings of claws, beast and scaled dragons back in the days. 

Sitting on that throne had been the stone god. Never moving, perhaps slumbering. Its body resembles that of a humanoid dragon. Scale running along his entire body. Horned crown sprouting from his head. Eye browns like bony spikes.

Clawed hands lay gripping the stone arm rest that stand on each side. 

Uuk and his best fighters could feel it. Pressure, a lot of pressure that could make you fall to your knees. Only their strength along helped them not collapse. The room has been dim, thy brought torches, but even they seem to fall to only a smolder. There where large brazers lining the pillars. Only problem is no one can light them. No magical or physical fire can light them.

The only brazer that had been lit and stayed lit for centuries had been the on laying at the bottom of the steps to the throne. 

Uuk spoke whilst others stood silence most their focus trying not to fall to their knee's.

"My lord, we com with tributes. Please we hope this is enough."

What Uuk had learned years ago was that the flames within this middle brazer or what they call the tribulations fire. Is that it doesn't burn or bring pain. But it does take the tributes. As he demonstrated to his warriors, by putting the first basket in. the flame roared up their blue hue engulfing the items. Such as food and alcohol, the next held gold jewels and small trinkets. They took had been enveloped. Whilst the last held weapons. Almost most burned only one held against the flames. It had been an axe. Runes glowering with heat to ward off th fire. 

Uuk had been perplexed by this, until… he heard an audible crack!

Azural finding himself eruptly killed during his walk to work, He is born in a world of monsters, men and magic.

Now one of the many rulers of the Valion region that he has awakened into. 

Azural finds his Morales stripped away from him and replaced with his new bodies emotions. 

What will he do this this second chance of life? Only Azural knows.
