Those are the best possible  answers many of you may have answered but in my opinion those answers are nothing more than a guess as for me this is a fundamental force of reality that have been unknowingly used in many scientific studies such as but not limited to Newton's three laws of motion, gravity, electromagnetic force, atom, electricity, magnetism.

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

[A/N: Oof I asked the wrong person.]

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

All the students who were present perked up in interest as they waited for the teacher to brief them about the current situation. They were extremely attentive: it was the first time the school addressed the situation in detail after the resurgence of the aura.

"The direct cause of Genetic Awakening is linked to the meteor shower that occured in September last year. According to scientific research, the meteor showers brought an unknown substance to Earth and that substance is known as the Awakening Concentrate. The Awakening Concentrate evaporated and entered our atmosphere. If you are interested in this, you would have known that Awakeners had gradually been appearing on Earth since that meteor shower." 
After hearing Mr Li Hong's explanation, the students immediately gained clarity.
The timings of the events matched perfectly. It had been after September the previous year that some humans with extraordinary abilities had started to appear in the country. 
In general, the students had noticed, the Awakeners were similar to the mutants in X-Men. The main difference was that the mutants had their powers since birth, whereas the Awakeners's powers appeared later on in life.
Chatter filled the classroom.

Since the emergence of the Awakening Concentrate, the number of human Awakeners has increased. As lives among species are equal, genetic changes have also affected other species, including animals and plants, so everyone must be careful. Try to avoid going to secluded and deserted places as we do not know what mutations animals and plants have undergone. It could be dangerous. Do you understand?"

"Ten seconds."
After his failed explosions, Lou Cheng remained calm and changed his footwork. He agilely followed Han Peipei like the northerly wind and continued to shorten the distance between them.
Han Peipei didn't feel nervous at all as she was very confident in her probing ability and ducking skills.
When the distance between them was shortened to a point, Lou Cheng raised his arm and prepared for another seal while approaching.
"Again?" Afraid of receiving any mental assault which might slow her down or numb her mind, Han Peipei took it seriously and made the odd sound again.
Surrounded by the odd sound waves, Lou Cheng exerted strength from his five fingers, changed the seal abruptly, and chanted a different ancient word,
"Attainment!"
Bang! He sprung out suddenly, piercing through the air with crispy sounds, and reached Han Peipei in no time, with his arm swinging rapidly.
"Err… " Han Peipei's vision was blurry. The enemy was right in front of her, leaving her no room to dodge and no time to produce a loud sound to affect his hearing and balance. She had no choice but to concentrate her strength and receive the attack with a punch.
Lou Cheng's tendons flicked to withdraw his arm, his foot stamped, and his weight shifted to avoid Han Peipei's punch and move to her side.
"The nineteenth movement of the Ice Sect, Cold Swallow!"
Bam!
Lou Cheng visualized thunder clouds above an ice-bound river. His right arm cut downward like a club, aiming at her head.
Simplified Physical Invulnerable Move, Severe Warning.
Bang!
Han Peipei threw another punch to barely block this strike. Her entire body felt frozen and her mind had a temporary short circuit. She stood there stiffly with white frost appearing on her skin.
Lou Cheng threw his left arm out and stopped at Han Peipei's neck.
"Round one, Lou Cheng!" announced the referee.
In the broadcast studio, Chen Sansheng blurted out,
"14 seconds!"
Han Peipei had lost in 14 seconds…


Here martial arts are no longer intangible legends. They have been passed on from generation to generation and from century to century. After the confrontation with science and technology, they have completely integrated into modern society and all kinds of martial arts competitions are taking place across the country as superiority among scholars are hard to reach a consensus but not as difficult among martial artists!
Lou Cheng has inherited the lost skills of the greatest martial arts sect. Towards his original dream and the glory in his heart, he advances step by step, becoming the warrior of this modern city and the hero of the era!

Isekai isn't a complicated subject when you relate it to the Otaku's Journey where a regular individual suddenly becomes awesome because they are not a NEET anymore but a super powerful chick magnet...

However, there's more to this trope than what meets the eye. You all must know by now what this trope-becoming-a-genre means by now, right? It's basically being sent into Another World.

However, though it's recently become popular, Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz did it before being Isekai'd by Truck-kun became a meme. The amount of Anime references on this is amazing!

...Amazing, but also limiting in a way. The true potential of Isekai can't even be reached by those who awkwardly try their hand at writing, their eyes become tainted by the tropes already established.

So instead of introducing you to all those meaningless tropes that only work if you're writing a very specific Power Fantasy, let us talk about the bare bones basics to get this trope to work.

Firstly, you need to transport someone to the Other World somehow (magic is the most generic but not mandatory. You can even make it a 'portal' from science fiction as well). 

Secondly, you need a world to transport them to. 

Thirdly, an overarching plot in the story.

And lastly, your character needs a drive (it can range from surviving to being the best at being a trap).

Anything other than these four points are just established tropes people keep reusing like the oddly familiar RPG-esque Medieval Fantasy World to the fact it always has to be about fantasy elements.

"Isekai's are great because the reader understands the very vast world as much as the main character."

My only question to those senseless writers who take this benefit at face value is: So what?

I've said in my Shounen Formula analysis that overarching plots must be mixed with motives.

For example: What does the character want? And what does the world they travelled to want?

Maybe the world wants to be saved in your typical Demon King Vs Hero plots. However, what is the point of your character being Isekai'd into that if his existence of being an Earthling means nothing?

In Knight and Magic, they added a robot otaku and engineer even though his past was irrelevant...

Do people not even care about 'mystique' anymore?

Even Isekai Smartphone was a better Isekai than the uninspired Fantasies churned out these days...!

Jobless Reincarnation (Mushoku Tensei) isn't getting an Anime Adaptation for no reason. The entire point of why that Isekai actually worked wasn't because it showed the character as a baby but because the author already aligned his motives with the plot.

He wanted to become a better and more hardworking person than in his past life, and the world was just the right stage for the main character to do just that! That story also showed clear understanding of redemption arcs and was much more aware that people don't change at the drop of a hat even if they realised their errors. It takes repeatedly going against your nature and understanding empathy to truly change inwardly.

What I'm trying to say ISN'T to create a world that has a plot that perfectly aligns with his goals but have a more broader creative ambition than just shoving any old nobody into a Medieval Fantasy World. No one cares how powerful your character's Holy Sword is compared to others nor do they care about a guy who is cheating the game of life.

What people want is drama and the consequences of being reincarnated when your motives doesn't align with what the world wants. If you shove a normal guy into a Medieval Fantasy World where a Summoned Hero must help humanity... he might not choose to save the world, but might even take the Demons side since to him, all Humans of this other world are just aliens. Not only that but they most likely don't have methods to send him back if he actually had a life on Earth before being summoned.

In other words, if you're going to write seriously then stop thinking of tropes and 'what is now popular'.

Isekai is supposed to be about someone from beyond, an alien like us, transporting to someone else's home world. How they deal with that change is exactly what Isekai is about... not Fantasy!

If you don't have a reason to use this trope, don't as it only worsens what could become a good story if you focus on other areas. Don't simply use it as a tool for giving the MC what amounts to amnesia.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.
