Level up you hear it here, there, lot a of RPG yeah... Well I try to think going down in this thing. There still level up so I can't go.

"Compliments, Great Mother of Reproduction…"
"You came on your own in the chaos for the Evil Demon Ancestor. You are the asylum provider of the Dark Night, the reproducer of the land…"
"You gave birth to the Evil Demon King, the wielder of desire…" 
"You are the eternal believer of the Darkness, the protector of the everlasting empire…" 
…
On the second level of the library, Fang Yuan was holding onto a book that was made out of pages of goat-skin, and was currently reading a poem complimenting the Mother of Reproduction.
This goat-skinned book looked very ancient, and the words on it had a brownish-yellow color like that of dried blood. It even smelled like fresh blood when touched. 
"'R'lyeh Textbook', seized from Kun Shi Sect…" 
After removing the book from the wooden shelf, there was a small paper slip that had the book's source written on it.
"Kun Shi Sect? It seems like an organization that believed in Evil Demons and was filled with messed up humans and Night Family Clan. Their god is the most powerful Evil Demon King—Desire!" 
Fang Yuan flipped through the pages, but unfortunately, the book stopped halfway as if someone had intentionally torn the rest of it.
"That's right… This textbook is only for Demon Hunters to familiarize with the evil sects and forms. As for the information on how to proceed further to ceremonies, ingratiate Evil Demons, and how to achieve power by using objects, they would only entice people to join their ranks if they were put out there. The pages are either destroyed or secretly kept on the third level." 
He lifted his head slightly and saw a ladder.
It looked very simple to climb up the ladder, however, there were already several demon statues and Demon Hunters protecting the second level. The protection for the third level would definitely be stronger than this. 
Fang Yuan stole a glance, his eyes shimmering with a golden glow before promptly stopping regrettably.
"The system of the Night Family Clan originated from the Mother of Reproduction. Evil Demons are at the top, followed by Voodoo Corpses, Sons of Plague, and others that are high ranking descendants. Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls, and many other clans with many breeds are next, followed by the mixed-bloods, cross-breeds and Mutated, and lastly the Spellmasters and degenerated humankind." 
Fang Yuan sorted out the ranking among the Night Family Clan. It was based on the purity of their blood—the closer one was to the original ancestor, the larger one's power was. 
Of course, a sudden transformation couldn't be excluded, but it was a special case.
"Talking about the research of blood, the path of a Dream Master isn't too bad either!"
Fang Yuan touched the space between his brows. He also accomplished a certain achievement in this aspect. He had completely cultivated the blood essence of the Witches; even being able to transform things like the branding that was engraved onto a True Spirit. Furthermore, as long as the True Spirit was present, he would still be able to use the power in his blood even if his body was eliminated. 
At this step, he had already raised his blood to a higher level and didn't need to restrain and adhere to the subject's blood. 
"If I split them into high-class, middle-class, and low-class, the Vampire clans would belong to somewhere between the low and middle-class. The highly skilled ones definitely have middle-class blood, and the one that I met has a thin bloodline and belongs to the low-class. As for the Voodoo Corpses, it should have high-class blood… As for those with supreme-blood, those are no doubt the Evil Demons!" 
Fang Yuan shook his head. "However… as soon as the real Evil Demon appears, it would be an S-grade mission. Being the Demon Hunter that I am now, I won't even have the qualifications to observe from the sidelines."
After the Mother of Reproduction vanished, Evil Demons had become the top of the Night Family Clan.
However, their activities were very secretive, and they barely show themselves in person—even their names were taboo!
If their true names and nicknames were known, it was completely possible for Evil Demons' manifestation or original body to appear and grant a certain power. Even life forms could change.
Of course, Demon Hunters loved to call this process "Degenerate"!
"Currently, a high-class Voodoo Corpse caused the Demon Hunter branch to act as if they met a very strong enemy. A Demon Hunter's power, hehe…"

This means, that as humans, Demon Hunters have the advantage of producing more hunters, so they were able to have multiple people attacking. 
As for the Night Family Clan, their reproduction skills had dipped to its lowest after the Mother of Reproduction. It didn't matter if it was the power granted by Evil Demons or the initial support that the Blood Clans had, their ability to reproduce was far from the rate of producing new Demon Hunters. 
Otherwise, the Dark Empire wouldn't have been destroyed then. 
"It's said that… this 'R'lyeh's Textbook' is a copy of the 'Dead Sea Ancient Book.' Not only are all of the true names of the Evil Demons recorded in the real 'Dead Sea Ancient Book,' but the ceremony on how to communicate with the Mother of Reproduction is also written down… It's a pity that it's only a legend. Neither the Demon Hunters nor the Night Family Clan had been able to receive any additional accurate news."
However, Fang Yuan began to get interested in the last paragraph of "R'lyeh's Textbook."
He had a deep impression of the Mother of Reproduction.
It was able to give birth to the existence of an entire clan! Judging by level, he's afraid that it was almost on par as Sages. 
Even more so, its nature might be that of original energy.

This secret information was unknown to the Hulk from before as it was seen in the reports on the second level. 
Legends said that the Sacred Weapons came from the first Demon Hunter that suddenly appeared in the Empire that the Heirs of Darkness controlled and brought hope and light to the human race.
Since then, Demon Hunters suddenly appeared and toppled the violent rule of the Heirs of Darkness, and through the power of the Sacred Weapons, they were able to vanquish evil and finally made the human race this world's dominant race.
"Such a pity… there's no information about two of the three Sacred Weapons. The only one that can be confirmed is the Sacred Cup!"
"The document exclusively recorded… that the first Demon Hunter invited the warriors among the human race to taste the Sacred Water in the Sacred Cup. Then, he was able to produce more and more Demon Hunters. The so-called Sacred Cup is actually the creator of the Sacred Water!" 
Fang Yuan's finger moved along the words, a fire burning in his eyes. "Furthermore, there are also imitations of the Sacred Cup divided amongst the Demon Hunters branches, and hence, they are able to provide Sacred Water. However, the difference is immense… thus, cultivation is done in the headquarters. In addition to that, the headquarters of the Demon Hunter Union holds the most power to ensure that there won't be any accidents."
The person in charge of the three, true Sacred Weapons were all heads of the Demon Hunter Union who rarely revealed themselves in front of others.
As for the power they held, it was said that they could shock the Evil Demons, and even destroy and kill them! 
"Sacred Weapons… and Sacred Weapons imitations—maybe I can get two of them to observe and perform my research on…" 
Fang Yuan set aside his determination and promptly opened another book to read.
"'Fundamentals of Pharmaceutics'?"
He looked at the cover and his eyes lit up. "No wonder it's on the second level of the library, there's no way that this information and documents would be sold outside!"
After flipping over the cover, a hint of the smell of ink wafted out into the air. It was also mixed with the fragrance of some herbs, making people jerk awake.
"This book is only about the fundamental techniques of pharmaceutics. Please carefully learn about them. If there are any difficulties, ask your tutor! 
"This book requires the prerequisite subjects 'Identifying Herbs,' 'Illustrations of the Night Family Clan,' 'Foundation of Anthropotomy'… if you have yet to finish these studies, then please finish them before reading this!"

He didn't care about the others and continued reading.

We, Pharmacists, believe that there are three types of spiritual energy—natural spiritual energy, energetic spiritual energy, and animal spiritual energy. The combination of these three forms a true life form! 
"Natural spiritual energy is present within nature, whereas animal spiritual energy is within an animal's body, including humans… As for energetic spiritual energy, it is deemed as the most unstable one, it is ever-changing and especially loves the Night Family Clan!
"The concoction of medicament by practicing pharmacists is a process of using various means to purify the natural spiritual energy and energetic spiritual energy. 
"The true, finest medicament can directly supplement the two spiritual energies and balance them out with the animal spiritual energy in one's body, achieving various curing goals."

Within the study of the fundamentals of pharmaceutics, the author directly explained in detail about this world's pharmaceutics and philosophical view. Fang Yuan was amazed by it while he was reading.

This is the story of a boy who lived a secluded life in the mountains, tending his farm, rearing his fish, and dreaming his dreams. Eh? Did I suddenly conquer all worlds and become the big boss? Or am I still in a dream?

"Achoo!" Ling Yun sneezed forcefully. He was in the midst of picking his teeth and almost bit his own tongue. 
"Someone must be talking about me behind my back!"
If Ling Yun had heard Zhang Ling's suspicion about him, he would have stumbled so badly and injured his tongue! 
On the other side, Cao Shanshan placed her hand gently on Zhang Ling's forehead. She was checking if Zhang Ling was healthy and sane to make such a deduction about Ling Yun. 
"I think you've been reading too many fantasies to have such a wild imagination!" Cao Shanshan asserted as she knew the reason for Ling Yun's sudden change.
Whether it was through deliberate training or pure coincidence, a person would go through drastic changes as long as he fulfilled the criteria for overcoming his own physical limits. 
The most obvious enhancement would arise in his fitness level. As for the others traits, it would depend on his bone potential, as well as his ability to comprehend and analyze situations. 
As she assumed all these were the reasons for Ling Yun's sudden development, Cao Shanshan missed out on the truth. Zhang Ling's suspicion was right.
"Oh and…" Zhang Ling was stopped before she could even continue.
"Can't you just say everything at one go? It's getting on my nerves!" 
"Well… I can keep my mouth shut if you really don't want to hear this," Zhang Ling gave Chao Shanshan a face of disregard. 
"Fine, tell me," Cao Shanshan pleaded politely in order to get her best friend to speak. 
"You shouldn't have asked to meet Ling Yun outside just now". 
"Why not? I need to teach him a lesson for humiliating me in front of other students!" Cao Shanshan said as she started to be riled up. 
"No… What I meant was that you had the wrong choice of words," Zhang Ling responded with a pitiful tone. 
"What? What do you mean by that? Which word did I use wrongly?" Cao Shanshan clarified worryingly. 
"The words you used were along the lines of daring Ling Yun to meet you alone outside, the students at the sides were all ridiculing this particular sentence."
It didn't take too long before Cao Shanshan understood Zhang Ling's point. She became flustered. 
"If those blabbermouths are to twist and tell tales about this, you should know better than me what the consequences will be…" Zhang Ling uttered, not wanting to comment too much. 
Shanshan's mood did not stay cool for too long before the situation drove her hopping mad again. 
"It's all that fat ass Ling Yun's fault!!" Cao Shanshan shouted, with steam rising out from all over her body.
Zhang Ling gazed at her furious pal, pondering in deep thoughts. 
There's no love without hatred…
Over at Hostel 305…
"Ling Yun, twenty minutes more to the start of the lesson. Are you going for it?" Chai Hanlin, who just woke up, asked in awe. 
"Sure, of course I'll be going," Ling Yun said as he proceeded to get ready. 
"There will History and Geography lessons later. Both the subject teachers don't have a good impression of you. So don't take it to heart if they say anything unpleasant, alright?" Chai Hanlin advised. 
At this stage, all the Grade 12 students were already streamed into either Liberal Arts or Science classes. Class 6 was one of the Liberal Arts classes. Other than the compulsory languages they had to take, they would learn a combination of three subjects. Namely History, Geography and Political Science. 
Ling Yun assured Chai Hanlin everything would be fine before making their way for classes. 
"Ling Yun, I want to apologize for what happened yesterday night. I'm sorry for not being able to stop Wei Tiangan and his people from locking you outside the hostel gate," Chai Hanlin finally got his words off his chest. 
"It's fine, I don't blame you," Ling Yun forgave Hanlin as he understood the importance of depending on himself instead of others. 
"But… Ling Yun, you have never retaliated before, why did you do it this time?" 
Ling Yun slowed down before looking into Hanlin's eyes to explain. "I have my own limit. I can stomach it for the first few times. However, if they decide to continue playing with fire and cross that line, I will teach them a lesson!" 
"No wonder… Given your build, you could have easily beaten them to a pulp. Your tolerance level must be high to put up with their shameless acts," Chai Hanlin got overly excited as he recalled Ling Yun's majestic bearing last night. 
High tolerance level? No way! Instead, I am probably the most unforbearing individual in this world.
Ling Yun giggled at Chai Hanlin's comment. 
The guys' hostel was only a 200 meters walk from the classroom. Before they realized, the two of them had reached their destination. 
Ling Yun found Grade 12 Class 6 and went into the room, only to hear someone announcing his arrival before receiving stares from his classmates. 
Ling Yun cast his gaze across the classroom and managed to pick out a few familiar faces. They were the infuriated Chao Shanshan, her best friend Zhang Ling, the bootlicker Gu Yuanlong as well as Wei Tiangan, who deliberately gave a poker face. 
"Wow! He actually turned up!" 
"Of course! So that he can boast about his out-of-this-world doings just now!"
"But the next lessons are History and Geography. Let's watch him make a show out of himself!" 
"Have you guys heard the story of how he made Cao Shanshan angry… hehe."
Students exchanged comments between themselves softly, as if Ling Yun's majestic prowess exhibited last night and earlier today deterred them from mocking him out loud. This was especially after Jia Meng had two of his teeth knocked out by Ling Yun. This showed how much people hated to have pain inflicted upon them. 
Ling Yun gave zero concern to what came out from the mouth of those gossip mongers as he went on to get himself a seat instead, picking a seat at the last row, at the corner of the class. A lofty and beanpole-looking student by the name of Zhang Dong gave up his seat to Ling Yun before taking the seat beside. Zhang Dong's results had always been above average, which posed no problem for him to admit into a second-grade university. 
"Hey brother, that was savage!" Zhang Dong murmured after both of them sat down. 
"Haha… It was just so-so," Ling Yun replied despite not entirely comprehending what his tablemate meant. 
"History's next?" Ling Yun queried after checking out Zhang Dong's timetable.
"Yup, and sad to say, it is two periods long. You have to be careful brother, Mr. Wu might find trouble with you". 
Subsequently, Ling Yun retrieved all his History textbooks from Grade 10 to 12 out and put it on his desk. 
Hey, this history textbook is so new. It looks like the previous Ling Yun has never touched it before.
As he had just arrived in this world, he had to seek his own methods to attain resources and learn about this world's history and civilization. This book's insubstantial content might have been inaccurate, but it was still better than having zero knowledge at all.
Zhang Dong could not believe his eyes as he witnessed Ling Yun reading a Grade 10 History textbook. 
"Stop kidding me. The examination is in two months' time. You won't be able to improve much by being hardworking now." 
"I wanna enrich myself," Ling Yun replied and his eyes never left the pages. 
Having no other option, Zhang Dong unreservedly pulled out a book from his stack and passed it to Ling Yun. After all, better to start late than to never start.
"Take this, I have marked the key points. It should be able to aid you tremendously in enriching yourself."
As long as one was enriched with the philosophies and beliefs to live a life with the corresponding values, they would not die a meaningless death. 
Ling Yun took a glance at Zhang Dong's debilitated textbook and rejected him sincerely. "Thanks for the offer but I don't need it." Thereafter, he continued browsing his own textbook.
Looking at the way Ling Yun read through his book, Zhang Dong doubted that he actually absorbed any information. He thought he was probably just skimming through instead. 
Sigh… He's just doing it for the sake of looking good Zhang Dong sighed as he placed his book back into his pile. 
*Ring Ring*
 Mr. Wu, the history teacher, made his way into the classroom as the alarm rang. As Mr. Wu paced towards the center of the stage, he sent sharp stares over the classroom. He was enraged and disgusted upon the sight of Ling Yun. 
"Class, greet!" Chao Shanshan announced in her crisp voice. The school belle was also the class monitor of Grade 12 Class 6. The students stood up subsequently, one after another, except for one.
Ling Yu was so engrossed in reading about the classical school of thoughts by the sages during the Qin Dynasty and its history. He had no idea everyone else was waiting for him to stand up.
Mr. Wu, who had been staring at Ling Yun from the beginning, let out a deep hum to express his unhappiness with him. Zhang Dong frantically tapped Ling Yun to alert him.
As Ling Yun looked up to see his classmates on their feet, he instinctively got his a*s off his chair and paid attention to the front. However, in his mind was a discourse by Lao Zi, the founder of Daoism Philosophy. 
"The Dao begets One, One begets Two, Two begets Three, Three begets the Ten Thousand Things… The person reflects the Earth. The Earth reflects Heaven. Heaven reflects Dao. And Dao reflects its own nature…"
This must be the way to cultivation! Ling Yun thought to himself.
The chant repeated itself inside his mind, over and over again. While all his classmates had already taken their seats, he stayed erect, unconscious of his surroundings. 
Mr. Wu's face darkened, as he yelled furiously at Ling Yun. "Ling Yun, you either stop playing a fool and focus on my lessons or you get the d*mn hell out of here!" 


Lingyun's tribulation has failed and he has descended onto Earth in the degenerate age. Step by step, he will rise up against the natural order!

Chapter 5: The Seating Plan
The sixth year Defence Against the Dark Arts class were made up of the students that had managed to get E grades or above at O.W.L level - and due to the teaching methods that Professor Lupin used, the class was large. However, like always, the majority of the students were Ravenclaws, as always seemed to be the way.
The exception to this rule was of course Potions, as Professor Snape always would favour his Slytherin students, no matter how many parents complained. And, of course, Professor Snape required an Outstanding grade.
Selene tapped her fingers against the desk, humming a tune under her breath, reading the first paragraph of their new textbook over and over again. How long would this take? Professor Moody was already five minutes late - it wasn't good form for a brand new teacher to show up even a few seconds late. Five minutes was just unheard of. Moody was sure to be an unconventional teacher, although it would be hard to measure up to Professor Lupin's famed prowess.
It was a shame that Professor Lupin had left. Selene had to hand it to the man, he'd done a lot to help them with their O.W.L. level course. The class was swollen to about thirty, whereas most N.E.W.T. level courses only took in about ten people. With the dwindling numbers of magical students coming in each year passing, the class was conspicuously high achieving.
Of course, Lupin had turned out to be a werewolf. Which wasn't his fault, naturally, but it still put Selene on edge. She hadn't expected the quiet, mild mannered Professor to have any secrets, let alone any he had to hide. Of course, her father had been the one to officially sack the Professor, in his position as Governor. Selene hadn't been let off the hook by her parents either, and she knew that they hadn't considered her black inked 'E' grade to have any founding.
Still. Selene felt like she needed to send a letter of apology to the Professor. Even though she'd already apologised in person for Draco's actions. And sent him a follow up letter over the summer.
She hadn't received a reply.
"Selene!" Cho's incessant voice cut through Selene's daydream, jarring her back to reality. "Listen to me, goddammit!"
"Sorry," Selene rolled her eyes. "I wasn't aware that my daydreaming directly affected you in any way… Guess I was mistaken."
"You'd better be sorry," Cho sighed, glancing around at the rest of the class before leaning in. "My period started this morning. The cramps are insane. It's horrible that we aren't allowed Muggle medication in school, I really need some ibuprofen right now."
Selene nodded sympathetically. "I don't know of any useful charms that could help… Maybe if you go to Madam Pomfrey after class, she might be able to give you some pain relief potion?"
"Good morning class."
Selene jumped, looking upwards and seeing the face of their new Professor, staring at the class, his false eye spinning in its socket. Selene swallowed, risking a sideways glance at Cho, who at least seemed equally as shocked as her. Professor Moody nodded, stumping up to the chalkboard and scrawling 'N.E.W.T. Level Defence Against The Dark Arts' onto it, in slightly scratchy handwriting.
"I am here to teach you how to handle Dark Curses, how to put Non-Verbal spells into practice, and how to survive attacks from deadly dark creatures," Professor Moody continued, voice harsh and barking. "If you're not prepared to behave yourself then you will find yourself OUT!"
No one spoke. Moody waited for a couple of seconds before continuing his speech. "First things first, you need to get to know each other- one wrong foot and you're OUT Belby!" he added, as the boy looked, aghast, at the band of Gryffindors. "Now… How about a good old fashioned seating plan? That's how they did it in my time."
"He hasn't taught before has he?" Cho said, in an undertone, just as Moody stomped towards his register. Selene only nodded, too wary to attempt speaking. "I don't know any class where that's worked out at all…"
Professor Moody picked up his register, running his finger down the lists of names, beginning to pair people together. "Miss Chang?" he looked around, his electric blue eye locating the girl's raised arm in a matter of seconds. "You'll be next to Mr Jordan."
Cho gave Selene a slight disconsolate glance, picking up her back and slowly walking over to the dreadlocked boy, who was positively beaming to be seated next to someone that was attractive. He pulled Cho's chair out for her, smiling a garish grin her way.
"Mr Belby, you'll be with Miss Johnson," Moody continued, not even waiting for the annoyed looking Ravenclaw to find his seat before continuing. "Miss Malfoy," he looked straight at Selene, even though she hadn't had time to raise her hand. "You'll be next to Mr Weasley."
Selene winced, risking a glance at the pair, who were sat up straight, wearing identical grins. "Which one?" they chorused, eyes twinkling. Both of them looked far too cheerful to be up to any good.
"George Weasley," Professor Moody eyed them both for a second, before one of them reluctantly stood up and made his way over to the other side of the classroom, where Selene was sitting, waiting for her imminent destruction. "Miss Harris, the other Mr Weasley. Miss Edgecombe…"
Selene avoided looking over at George, and instead busied herself with the textbook Cho had slammed on her hand, flicking through the index and running her finger down each letter. When she reached the one she needed, she turned to that page, still ignoring the gaze boring into her skull.
Everyone knew the Weasley Twins. Selene had been the unlucky recipient of many of their pranks over the years, whether Fred and George knew her by name or not. There was the incident of the green slime shower in the Ravenclaw Quidditch Changing Rooms, and the time when she had been covered from head to toe in a Muggle sweet called candyfloss. She didn't hate them for it, because you just couldn't. No one hated Fred and George Weasley, no matter how many times they got you.
Well, except for Professor Snape. But he was a notable exception.
"You going to talk to me then?"
Selene tensed, and she hurriedly slammed the book shut, almost catching her hand between its pages. She didn't want to talk to him, he was far too cheerful for a boy that'd just been sat next to the daughter of an ex-Death Eater, and she was too cautious to immediately trust him.
"I thought not..." George continued sullenly, opening his identical textbook to the same page Selene had been reading from.
They were both silent for a while, Selene listening to Moody's description of their curriculum for the year and George doodling something in the margin of page 236.
Suddenly, George turned to her, raised a ginger eyebrow, and asked: "Why is a Malfoy in Ravenclaw?"
Selene looked up slowly, her eyes looking into his brown ones for the shortest possible amount of time before she jerked her head down again. Allowing herself a small shrug, she went back to her textbook.
"Okay - how are you in Ravenclaw?" George smirked, shaking his head. "The Malfoy heiress, a Ravenclaw. Who'd have thought it?" he added, as an afterthought.
"Does it matter?" Selene asked, giving him a slightly curious look. "Do you want to talk to me or something?" Maybe he needed to get checked out by Madam Pomfrey too.
"I'm not even sure why I'm talking to you," George admitted, pushing a hand through his red hair. Selene nodded, glancing up from her book again. "But..." he sighed, and held out one freckled hand. "I guess I am..."
Selene eyed his extended hand in mingled shock and trepidation. She didn't want this. But that didn't stop her muscle memory, the instated discipline that made her take his hand.
"I'm Selene Malfoy," she greeted, giving him a small smile.
"George Weasley," George replied, giving Selene one of his famous smirks. "Although you know that. Come on then, answer my question. Why are you in Ravenclaw?"
He was too easy to talk to. "Er, that's where I was Sorted," Selene began, raising her eyebrow. "What did you think?"
George chuckled, giving her a grin. "You're a fun one," he smirked. "Not quite funny, but fun. Was Daddy pleased?"
Selene rolled her eyes, and looked over at Moody, copying down the notes from the board. "I'm the first one in seven generations of the Malfoy bloodline to be sorted into a House other than Slytherin," she pointed out. "What do you think? But it could have been worse. They had Draco to fall back on though."
"Well, trust me, they fell back on Draco a bit too heavily," George snorted, flipping his textbook open to the right page. "No offence, but your brother is the most spoilt kid to ever live."
"Hey," Selene said sharply, giving George a somewhat heated stare. "You can slag off as many Slytherins as you want, but stay away from my brother. Just because Harry and Ron have a problem with him doesn't give you a right to bully him."
"Whatever you say," George sang under his breath, turning back to his textbook.

"You seemed to be having fun," Cho said suggestively, brushing past a few First Years to catch up with Selene, who was hurrying ahead, one eye on the watch on her wrist. "George Weasley, eh? All the hot guys are hitting on you now."
"I'm pretty sure he's in the anti-Malfoy club," Selene answered, trying her best to ignore Cho's incessant twittering in favour of actually getting to Ancient Runes on time. It was a shame. George had seemed rather nice. But Blood Traitors and Pureblood Supremacists didn't tend to get along. "I mean, my father kind of hates his father…"
Cho stalled in the middle of the corridor, raising her eyebrows as the Weasley Twins strode past, arm in arm, talking loudly about how awesome that class had been. One of them spared her a wink, making Cho's face flush up (Selene wouldn't let that go anytime soon), along with a smile in Selene's direction.
Even if the twins were identical, Selene was sure that the one who had smiled at her was George, not Fred. She didn't even know if Fred knew her first name. But she smiled back, nodding once for good measure, before watching as they disappeared around the corner.
"I think you're becoming a real person," Cho smirked, as she watched the twins walk away. "Not just a nerdy ghost. A real person."
"Shut up, Cho," Selene rolled her eyes. "It's only two people. And they're Weasleys, too. They don't like me, and I don't like them. It's twofold. Mad-Eye will move us, I just need to ask him."
Cho snickered. "You think? Selene, Mad-Eye Moody is probably the most abstinent teacher I've ever had. And you think he'll move you if you ask him nicely?"
"Yes!" Selene snapped. "I'm sure he will! I'll say George was… Sexually harassing me!"
"That's going a tad too far," Cho pointed out. "That's definitely going to make him hate you. And, honestly, if anyone's going to sexually assault anyone, my money's on Nott. Just flash Moody your boobs. That'll get him to move you."
"No," Selene immediately replied, shaking her head. "No, no, no. He's old enough to be my granddad, Cho. And I don't have any boobs to show him."
"Hello, ladies," a suave, swooping voice lilted from behind Selene and Cho, and the tall figure of Roger Davies wrapped an arm around the waist of both girls. "What are you talking about on this fine day?"
"Fuck off, Roger," Cho scowled, sweeping the Quidditch Captain's arm away. "I've told you before, I'm not interested in taking your Love Potions."
"Me?" Roger held one hand to his heart in mock offence. "A potioner? I'll have you know, I got a D at O.W.L. Needless to say, Snape didn't invite me back this year."
Selene rolled her eyes, and wriggled her way out of Roger's grasp (and his rather audacious hand placed on her rear). "I'm not interested either," she sighed heavily. "Leave us alone, Roger. Not every girl wants to fuck you."
"We'll see about that," Roger's eyes twinkled, as he started off down the corridor towards Alicia Spinnet. "Don't count your Thestrals…"
"She'll punch him for us," Cho smiled cheerfully, linking her arm with Selene's. "Now. Care of Magical Creatures?"
"For you," Selene pulled out her wand from her pocket and summoned her timetable from her bag. "I have Ancient Runes. I think…"
"Well, don't pine over George Weasley too much!" Cho grinned. "I know he's a catch, but he's bad news! A womaniser!"
"Nobody could be as bad as Roger." Selene muttered, but Cho was already walking away down the stairs, in the direction of the sunny grounds.

*** Potions class

They didn't cover anything but theory in charms, which Harry listened to avidly, despite knowing most of what was being taught, after all, it's foolish to ever pass up a chance to learn new information.
He was looking forward to Potions quite a bit, it seemed like one of the most important subjects, but what he had heard about it, by listening in on conversations was mostly really negative.
Harry had read ahead, the entire textbook, so he was hoping that he wouldn't fall behind in his Potions education if the teacher did turn out to be subpar.
The Potions Master strode into the classroom, robe billowing behind him, scowl on his face, and oily hair sticking to his head.
'I have to know how he does the cloak billowing thing', Harry thought.
Snape stood at the front of the class.
"The art of potions requires no foolish wand waving, so I doubt any of you dunderheads will be able to get it… but if you can truly learn the art of pioneering, in this class you can learn to bottle fame, brew a fortune and put a stopper on death."
He sneered at the entire class.
"But if you're the usual dunderheads that I have to teach, then I'll be rid of you come OWL year."
He glared at Harry particularly and began to take attendance.
"Harry Potter, our new… celebrity…" Snape called out, his malicious intent obvious in his voice.
Harry idly noticed all of Snape's intimidation tactics and noted them down in case he needed to use them later.
"Lets see if you've done your reading shall we? Potter! Where would you find a bezoar!"
"In the stomach of a goat, sir." Harry replied respectfully.
"What's the difference between monkswood and wolfsbane." Snape snapped back.
"They are one and the same, sir."
Snape looked at him appraisingly before looking away and ignoring him and continuing with the roll call.
"Instructions on the board, begin, you have half an hour." Snape said, flourishing his wand and leaving the instructions on the board.
Ron started to complain loudly, and Snape deducted 10 points from Gryffindor.
Harry inwardly rolled his eyes. Snape was no great shakes as a teacher but complaining and insulting him would only make him worse.
Harry started on his own potion, and found that his cooking skills helped him quite a bit in his cure for boils, he quickly and efficiently completed his potion in 25ish minutes and bottled it, handing it to Snape, and wondering what his reaction would be to his nearly perfect potion.
Snape studied the vial carefully and far more critically than he had looked at Malfoys'.
"Hmmm, passable…" Snape reluctantly said, putting an A into his grade book.
"I'll try to do better next time, sir." Harry offered politely, while still inwardly knowing that his potion was easily worth an O.
Still, Snape would not be conducting the end-of-years, so Harry did not have to worry about his potions OWLs and NEWTs as long as he kept up his standard of work.
*** After Harry's potions class
Snape stared after the departed class, reevaluating his thoughts on the spawn of James Potter. He had expected him to be a carbon copy of the late Lord Potter, arrogant, not studying, laughing through potions, but instead Harry was polite and submitted a potion that was even better than Draco's. Still, the boy was related to James Potter but still, MAYBE, he wasn't as bad as he'd thought he'd be.
Snape grudgingly changed the A in his book into an O, deciding to wait, just a bit, before condemning the Potter child altogether.

*** Defence class

Defence was the most useless class that Harry had ever sat in. At least in Potions, they were learning something by making Potions, even if Snape was a bad teacher, but in Defence, Quirrell stuttered the entire time, reading the first paragraph of a textbook that Harry had read and deemed useless.
Harry zoned out Quirrell, instead picking up his book on occlumency and reading the third stage. The first had been objectifying his memories as books and the second had been, organising them into a library of sorts.
Harry started reading.
The third stage of Occlumency is building your mental defences. The most important thing to remember while performing this stage is that inside your mind, you control everything. This stage if often easier for younger people purely because their imagination runs wilder and is less controlled. There have been recorded instances of children pushing adults violently out of their minds while just imagining toy soldiers or the like.
For this stage, you must locate your 'mental library' and anchor all your defences around it. You must imagine walls around the library, and there will be walls. You can imagine your own defences as well, your only restriction is your imagination. At first, you will need to concentrate on your defences to keep them up, but once you have thought up walls and some basic defences, and can keep them there for an extended period of time, by concentrating on it, you are ready to move on to step 4.
Harry put down the book. He doubted that he would be allowed to meditate in Quirrell's classroom, or any classroom for that matter, he did not want to give the impression that he was sleeping in class to any of his teachers, even Quirrell.
He picked up his occlumency book again and was about to start reading step 4, when a piercing pain hit his scar.
Harry's hand immediately shot up to his scar. Quirrell was looking at him quite intently, and Harry realised, behind the curtain of pain, the tickling sensation of legilimency, the art of invading his mind.
With a little concentration, Harry finally got a chance to put his theoretical Occlumency knowledge to the test, the boy put up walls and cannons, and started blasting the intruder, who he assumed to be Quirrell without a second thought. It was only after he'd managed to catch Quirrell by surprise and knock him over, throwing off his virtual cloak, that he realised it wasn't Quirrel who was snooping around in his mind.
It was Voldemort.

"From his own experience, Harry knew that luck had never been on his side. At that moment he decided that he wouldn't rely on luck to solve his problems, he had to become smart, beyond the norm and talk his way through life. That's the only way he could survive."

It had been a day since Ciel left the Belle Estate to visit his mentor. While he was away, Kate and Chloe spent their time studying for Saint Claire Academy's entrance exam under Andrea's tutelage.
Claire didn't need to study because she passed the exam a year ago. She spent her time in the library of the manor reading some of the novels in their collection.
'No good, I'm gonna die at this rate.' Kate frowned. She was looking at the Math textbook in her hand and she felt an approaching headache.
[You're exaggerating. Just look at Chloe.] Stella hinted at the young girl seated beside Kate. [She has difficulty seeing because of her eyes, but she still persists in studying. Why don't you try a little harder?]
'Ugh...'
Kate glanced at Chloe who had a look of concentration on her face. She was trying to solve a math problem that Andrea had given her. Her head was bent low, almost a hand width away from the book. It showed how difficult it was for her to read and write at the same time.
Stella was right. Compared to Chloe, her whining seemed petty in comparison. Kate picked up the Math textbook once again with renewed determination. The numbers and formulas flashed before her eyes making her dizzy.
'God, I hate Math. I give up!'
[Tsk!]
'Stella, you know I'm not a genius. I won't be able to pass the exam at this rate.'
[J-Just try a little harder. Don't you want to spend a happy school life with Ciel and Chloe?]
'I can handle the other subjects, but I'm weak in Math. Looking at these numbers makes me dizzy!'
Kate grumbled to no end leaving Stella no choice but to take over. The two of them switched and Kate decided to take a nap in their shared mindscape, while Stella studied in her place.
"The only things you are good at are eating and sleeping," Stella muttered helplessly. She gazed at the Math problems and started to solve them one by one.
Andrea was paying close attention to Kate. She noticed that the girl was having a hard time solving the Math problems she prepared for her. On the surface she was calm, but deep inside she was very worried. In order to pass the exam, Kate needed to get high marks in all subjects.
If she failed even one of them then she would not be able to enter the Academy. Andrea knew that she was not a qualified teacher. Since Kate was having trouble learning from her, she would just hire a Math Tutor instead.
She was about to leave the room to make a call when she noticed Kate's hand suddenly moved. She was jotting down formulas on her scratch paper and solving the problems on the worksheet.
Stella and Chloe solved their questionnaires in silence. Only the sound of their writing pens resounded in the room. An hour passed and both of them put down their pen at the same time.
Chloe closed her eyes and massaged her temples, while Stella stretched her arms from side to side. Andrea picked up the bell near her desk and shook it. Half a minute later, a maid entered the room.
Andrea asked her to bring the children to the terrace and serve them their afternoon snack. She didn't forget to ask them to pick up Claire from the library so the three girls could take a break together.
After the two children left the room, Andrea started to mark their answer sheets. A quarter of an hour passed as she blankly stared at Kate's answer sheet.
"Eh?" Andrea tilted her head in confusion. "Are you for real?!"
Kate got full marks on her quiz, which made Andrea think that she made a mistake when marking her papers. She double checked and triple checked them to make sure that she didn't made a mistake. A few minutes passed before she finally put the paper down.
She gazed at the ceiling with a complicated expression. "Either she is a math genius, or she has a knack for tests with multiple choices."
When Ciel told her that he was unable to win against Kate in chess, she thought that it was just beginner's luck. However, her son insisted that the two of them played three games in a row and he was unable to win even once.
Looking at Kate's test results, Andrea was starting to believe Ciel's claim.
"It's still too early to come to a conclusion," Andrea said as she massaged her forehead. "These are just simple math problems. Even Chloe got a near perfect score as well. I will have to raise the difficulty for the next set of questions."
If Ciel were to check these "simple Math problems" that his mother prepared for the two girls then he would have a complicated expression on his face.
The test Andrea prepared for Chloe was for "Year 9 Students."
The one she prepared for Kate was for "Year 11 Students."
(A/N: Year 9 is equivalent to the 8th Grade in America, while Year 11 is equivalent to the 10th Grade).
Andrea couldn't be considered a very intelligent person. She just thought that making the girls answer questions way above their "Year Level" would help them handle anything that the examiners threw at them. Still, after seeing the tests results, she deemed it best to hire a professional tutor for the two girls.

"Big Sister, is something wrong?" Chloe asked. "You seemed different compared to your usual self."
"Oh? You're thinking too much, Chloe." Stella replied with a smile. "Make sure you eat a lot. You're still growing so your body needs a lot of nutrients."
"But, If I eat a lot of cake, wouldn't I get fat?"
"Nonsense! There's always room for desserts. Here, have one more slice."
Claire ate unhurriedly beside them. The novel she was reading a while ago was on top of the table. Stella glanced at the title of the book and read it aloud.
"The Webnovel Writer's Chatgroup. Such an interesting title. Is it any good?" Stella asked.
"Well, it's an amusing story," Claire replied with a grin. "It's a story about an amateur writer who started writing for the first time."
"Oh? Is he any good?"
"No. He sucked big time."
"Eh? Then why did you say it was an amusing story?" Stella stopped eating her cake and waited for Claire's answer.
"Because this novel is a true story." Claire giggled. "According to the author, the story is about the everyday lives of authors in an online chatroom."
"Online chat room?"
"Do you know about the internet?"
Stella shook her head. It was the first time she heard the word internet. She was quite curious about what the word meant.
"Do you know about computers?"
"Compu what?"
"Computers," Chloe repeated beside her. "They are like machines where you can play games, type stuff, and talk to people from far away places."
"Is it similar to a telephone?"
"Yes and No," Claire patiently explained. "It is like a telephone because you could communicate with people. However, you communicate through written text."
"Sounds interesting!"
"I believe there's a computer in Grandpa Arthur's study. If we ask him nicely, maybe he'll let us use it."
"Let's ask him when Big Brother comes back."
"Alright, that sounds like a plan."
Claire patted the book gently. "If possible, I want to meet these authors as well and talk with them in the Webnovel Writer's Chatgroup."

"You bastards! How dare you slander the name of this refined, elegant, and charismatic author?" An author using the pen name Ely typed in fury. "Why are you ruining my image?"
"Image? Do you even have one?" An author replied with a ridicule emoji.
"Shut up Fro Fro!" Ely replied in disdain. "Stop procrastinating and write your goddamn story already!"
"Fro Fro! Ely!" An author with the pen name Jhact spammed hug emojis. "Hug please!"
"Refined, elegant, and charismatic author? That's a funny way of spelling the word 'delusional', Ely. xD!" A female author that has the username Nurie joined the conversation.
"SMH! Nunu, who's side are you on?"

The authors of popular novels were up to their usual antics in the chatroom. Little did they know that they would be meeting a new member soon, and this member would give them the surprise of their lives.

Kate once had it all. Clothes, food, a place to stay, and a loving family. However, it all ended when her parents were murdered by a mysterious organization. Stella, her split personality, was the reason she barely made it out with her life. Living and hiding on the streets was a very difficult thing to do for a nine-year-old, but Stella helped her along the way.

A few years passed as she lived everyday in desperation. Tired, hungry, bitter, and on the verge of collapse, she was saved by a young boy when things took a turn for the worse. His name was Ciel Summers, her future dearest one.

Things were going smoothly until she managed to pass the entrance exam to the prestigious Saint Claire Academy. Hidden schemes played behind the scenes as a serum capable of awakening the latent powers of anyone below the age of 15 was developed.

They set their eyes on the elite students of the academy, and kidnapped Ciel, who became an unwilling test subject. It was the beginning of a series of events, which led Kate to discover the name of the organization that killed her parents and the secrets that were buried deep within her body.

Though she felt bad for 'Julian,' class was still just class, and everyone had circumstances of their own. Sure, first graders needed as much love and attention as possible, but 'Julian' was only one out of the thirty-two students Hee Yeon had to look after. She couldn't cancel class just for him alone.

She proceeded to divide the students into groups of four or five and gave them time to decide individual roles. Once the roles were clear, and students had chosen who was to be the mom or the dad, or even uncles and grandparents, the family play began with no issues.
&quot;Here,&quot; said one of the students playing the mother role. &quot;Take this money and go buy whatever you wish to eat.&quot;
The student then pretended to give the &quot;son&quot; some money. This likely stemmed from the student's wishes that their own mother would do something similar.

&quot;No, no. Let go. You can't do that. I told you not to do that. Why can't you just listen for once?&quot;
The students who had taken on the mother's role tried their hardest to be harsh and reprimanding, and the other students cheered and clapped their hands at the superb performance.

&quot;Hey,&quot; said one of the students. &quot;Can you give me some money? I want to play games.&quot;
&quot;What role are you playing?&quot; Asked Hee Yeon, approaching one of the groups
&quot;It's my uncle.&quot;
&quot;…&quot;
Hee Yeon couldn't help but give a small, sad smile.

'Julian' and his group were up next. Surprisingly, 'Julian' had taken the role of the father. Three girls played the part of the mother and two daughters. The mother cleaned the house while the older daughter volunteered to help sweep the floor. The younger daughter, on the other hand, grabbed onto the mother to beg for cookies, which made the rest of the class laugh. Indeed, watching the daughter cling to the much shorter mother was enough to make even Hee Yeon chuckle. In the midst of all this, however, 'Julian' behaving quite oddly, swinging an imaginary axe away from the rest of the family. When asked about this, he had simply answered, &quot;I'm cutting a tree to make a chair.&quot;

The other students seemed amazed by this, letting out a collective &quot;wow.&quot; Even Hee Yeon thought it was quite the spectacle. Making a chair? And not even an assembly type, but from scratch, by cutting down a tree? It just was not possible, according to all logic and common sense. After all, in the Republic of Korea, it was illegal for an individual to freely cut down trees. While Hee Yeon was lost in her thoughts, one of the students shouted out. &quot;How can you make a chair? You don't even have a dad. It's all a lie.&quot;

Such a response was to be expected of a child so young. Children, after all, acted maliciously without necessarily meaning any harm and lacked the ability to even distinguish good from bad. On top of that, only having been in the profession for three years, Hee Yeon lacked the proper experience to respond to such provocations in a timely manner. She hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to take care of this emergency. Just as she regained her composure, an awkward smile plastered on her face in an effort to make things better, the boy spoke.
&quot;There was a forest right behind our house.&quot; He said, as the students all stared at him. &quot;About…thirty minutes into the forest, there were many red cedar trees. You make chairs with them. Red cedars have smaller burls than other trees, so the wood is prettier. It's good for making chairs and tables too, because it's much lighter and harder.&quot;
He spoke calmly, his voice neither too loud nor too quiet, and Hee Yeon let him continue. She had no intention of stopping him now.

&quot;You use a saw to cut the wood down into the appropriate pieces for a chair. It's crucial that you cut along the grain. My father said that if you cut against it, the chair will be too weak and won't last as long.&quot;
The boy stopped speaking for a moment, and silence reigned in the classroom. No one could bring themselves to interrupt.
&quot;Once you have the wood in the adequate size and shape,&quot; the boy continued once again, &quot;you have to sand it down. I can start helping from this point. I smooth out all the edges and corners and then dust it off so that Dad can oil everything. You leave it out to dry, and three days after you sand it and oil it again. If you repeat this process two more times, the wood won't rot so easily, and it becomes a chair warm enough for our family to use. That's what my father said.&quot;

As he spoke, the boy's gaze had gradually dropped lower and lower, and when he had finally finished explaining, he had dropped his entire head to look at the floor beneath him. Looking at him, even the children knew better than to make thoughtless remarks.

The librarian, Miss Lee, took a sip of the coffee she had been staring at, noticing that the instant coffee mix was much too sweet for her tastes, and began her rebuttal.
&quot;Well, I wasn't there to hear it, so I guess I'll just have to take your word on how &quot;it really felt,&quot; but I'm sure you'll find some books on woodwork in this library, if you look hard enough. To be honest, I think that boy is clever enough to embellish his stories to make them sound true. You know, kind of like that one condition where you believe your own lies. What was it…&quot;

Before Hee Yeon could even think of answering, Miss Lee continued without missing a beat.
&quot;Oh yes, Ripley's syndrome! I'm sure he has some inferiority complex or another, considering all the other children have parents and he doesn't. So he made up a pretty little story about an all-talented father who makes him chairs just like that. I guess that's what he considers to be admirable, the young thing. Who makes chairs by hand anyway? In this day and age? You can buy premade, fully functional chairs nearly anywhere.&quot;

Upon sensing that she had become too engrossed in her own story and Hee Yeon was now noticeably glaring at her, Miss Lee quickly fumbled for an excuse to make up for this mistake. &quot;Of course, I'm not saying the child is bad in any way. I'm also rather fond of him. He's the only one who comes to the library first thing in the morning. He can be a bit shy, but who could ever have anything bad to say about such a diligent, reliable child?&quot;

Wholly disregarding the librarian's feeble attempts to placate her, Hee Yeon felt that it was a very plausible explanation for the boy's behavior, even if she was morally inclined to disagree. Should she notify the institute about this?

The boy in question was reading in the classroom, blissfully ignorant of his teacher's dilemma. Morning classes had already ended, and he was now waiting for the after-school classes held in the afternoon. Today's class was math, which was one of the main reasons he had come to love school so much. The first and most important reason would always be reading. Though elementary level math was nothing too impressive, the boy thought it wondrous, almost like a subject that only mages in fantasy novels would be able to master. No one in the peasant town ever dealt with numbers, and the only example of counting they did was counting piles of wood. The boy had learned, for the first time in his life, that precise numbers could be used in daily life.

For a child so eager to learn everything that he could, curricula had no meaning. As the phrase went, &quot;a word to the wise is enough,&quot; especially when it came to mathematics. If a child, any child, took an interest in numbers, they could easily grasp the idea of three-digit numbers in first grade, even if it's meant to be taught in second grade. From there, the concept of four-digit numbers or greater would hardly be an issue. Moreover, elementary school math focuses on practical applications of numbers, providing various situations in which children must use operations to solve problems, and as such, the boy easily taught himself the basics of the subject simply by reading through the textbook. Sena Nagayama thought to herself that the four Furuhashi sisters were doomed and definitely needed a home tutor. Without them, seeing the situation at hand, they would surely be required to repeat the grade.
She also believed that without a tutor, it would be highly possible for the four girls not to be able to get into universities.
While she was deep in her thoughts, Sena Nagayama had followed Principal Endo to the second floor, which housed the sophomores.
With her steps halting at the back door of Class One, her eyes took in the scene before her. Surprised, she asked softly, "Why is a student on the teaching podium?"
What led her to believe he was a student was the fact that Kazuki was wearing his school uniform.
"The physics teacher of Class One left to the hospital for an appendectomy. Kazuki is filling in for him," Endo Etomi explained in a whisper, attempting not to disturb the students amid their lesson.

A second later, Sena Nagayama finally registered the situation. The Kazuki that Principal Endo was talking about was the Kazuki.
She glanced over at Kazuki, who was perched on top of the podium. Although he dressed like everyone else, it only took him standing on the podium to attract others' attention.
This was a student who was average-looking but possessed extraordinary temperament. One glance at him and Sena Nagayama was sure she would remember him.
