The arrow flew so fast, my eyes couldn't keep up with it. I looked at the tree and saw an arrow hitting the middle section of the tree.

"That's so cool grandpa!" My eyes were trembling with excitement. 

In the evening of the same day, Grandpa told me stories about his bow. Why he won't sell it, for that bow must have a price of Php 300,000 or so.

"Listen lil' Vance, this bow was given to me by a Chinese elder for saving his daughter, which was your beautiful grandmother ofcourse" My grandpas smile didn't leave since he started talking. I couldn't blame him, my grandma was really beautiful in the pictures. She died of old age 3 years ago. I was 7 at that time. 

"We also used bows in the war. We used it so the enemies won't spot our location when we, well, you'll understand in the future. For now, lets sleep" My grandpa smiled at me.

Opening my eyes, blurry vision of the room greeted me. Signs of tears falling in my cheeks. It has been a hour of continuous gnarling at the other side of the door.

I walked to the side of the bed and pushed it with all my might. Lifting a wide wooden plank on the floor, I saw a case made of hard materials inside. Lifting it, I put it in the bed. "This is not the time to be afraid" I mumbled and pushed the bed near the door. I also pushed cabinets, table near the door making a small fortress around the door of chest level. Creating a little space to go inside, I stood in front of the door. 

"Sorry mom, we may not have the sweetest relationship, but I knew you still cared for me..." I spoke all the things i couldn't speak to my mother because I didn't have the guts to do it before. This conversation doesn't make sense. I don't know if she's still there. But I know for sure this is the first step of me overcoming my fear. 

"Sorry mom" I kowtowed in front of the door for I will do a thing I didn't even think of doing before. I opened the door and run to the space I created before and closed it. 

My mom rushed forward but can't seem to do anything about the fortress I made. Tears fell down in my face as I held the bow looking at my mother.

"I really wished we could have been a normal family you know? Going to amusement park, mall..." I spoke with all my heart while pointing the bow to my mom. I just...

Whoosh~

The arrow flew to the door. I can't. Tears continuously fell down. How could I? I still remember the times when it was still harmonious in the family.

"Eat your breakfast Phi" My mother shouted to a 8 year old boy who was playing with a bow toy.

"Yes mumm" The boy shouted as he left his toy in the floor to eat.

Holding the bow again, I pointed it to my mothers head, as I thought I was prepared for the consequences to follow.

Whoosh~

The arrow struck at my mothers left eye as she slowly slid down and lost vitality.

"Mom" I mumbled as I also fell in the floor. My heart was beating normal, but something in me just felt lost. I closed my eyes as I reminisce the moments I spent with my family. Nothing fancy, no trips, just pure golden memories. I smiled, while tears slid down my face. I got up, and pushed the things aside, to get closer to my mother. I think I'm wrong but I thought I saw tranquility in my mothers eyes.

Bowing to my mother, I spoke things of gratitude, regrets to her. 

Walking pass her to get the arrows, I saw a ancient looking book beside her body. I didn't know where it came from because my view was limited. I also never saw that book so I'm sure it wasn't from this room. I took the book and saw a fierce looking skeleton drawn inside a circular emblem in the cover. I opened it and was horrified, there were writings and drawings so life-like I thought it came out alive. 
'For untold years, King of War, Gor, built a kingdom to hide the remains...' 'The enemies of the kingdom found evidence of it and killed him. How could he, the King of War, let them do as they wish. He rised from the death and become the fearsome Wraith King, slaughtering anyone in his path' The book ended with a picture of a skeleton standing above thousands of corpses. 

Sweat ran down my body as I could feel things you shouldn't have felt no matter how realistic a book is. At the back of the book there was a picture of a man dripping a drop of blood. I took the arrow at the door and poked it at my finger. I pointed it at the book and the blood got absorbed.

Green lights shone from the book as it materialized into a skeletion of 6 feet high. The book became a skeleton? I would have never thought I would see something so fantasy like in my life. 

The skeletion was wide, with red cloth hugging his neck to his right shoulder. With a fierce looking sword at his back. It was full of carvings, both cloth and sword. The skeleton was bare with green lights like fire shining in his eye sockets.

"Wraith... king" I mumbled as my heart trembled, this was like the novels I read to escape the reality I lived in. I'm sure the skeleton won't attack me because I kinda summoned it.

Deep in the night, under the many constellations, Mythander was currently sitting comfortably high on a tree branch while leaning back against the tree.
He was holding a black leather-encased book in his hand, lightly reading it. "...When the soul departs the body of the deceased, it does not immediately disappear but lingers, it is during this time that it is optimal to capture for use as an ingredient for rituals and other spells or to trap it within a body thus turning it into the living dead. The quality of the ingredient or undead raised is in direct correlation to the strength of the soul, the amount of time it has lingered within this world after its body has been slain and the competency of the one capturing the would or trapping it..."
Mythandar smiled slightly as he read the text while calculating in what situations this information would be valuable as well as assessing and verifying it with what he already knew as to find fault and then correct it. What surprised Mythandar is that he didn't find anything wrong with the text in fact there were some things he didn't even know, which he safely stored inside his memory to fill gaps in his knowledge.
'Well he wasn't an Ach Lich for nothing', Mythandar thought as he recalled the owner of this book, one of the most powerful adversaries he has ever thought not only in pure power but in wits as well. The book he was currently reading was the Arch Lich's research, evrything he has done since he walked the path of a necromancer.' Should have asked for his name', Mythandar smiled as he continued reading.
Not far from the tree where Mythander was held up in his pleasure reading, stood a small building, although it was old and small, one could tell it was well maintained. From where Mythander was sitting one could see through most of the windows in the house, that wasn't much when one thought of the fact that it only had three.
THought one of those windows one could see a beautiful woman with black hair and brown eyes wearing a traditional Miko outfit sitting at a table and enjoying dinner with a cute little girl of around eight years old. The little girl took a lot to the woman and the only true difference would be beautiful purple eyes.
'Shuri...Akeno...how can anybody wish to do you harm', Mythander thought, he pried his eyes from the text of the book and looked towards the mother and daughter duo.
'I do not understand, why hate these two... why harm them if the one you hate is the fallen angel Baraqiel, who have they ever harmed, who have they ever slighted'
Mythander had been looking over the duo for a month now, he had seen them interact with each other and the rest of the Himejima clan, they were always polite and willing to help, kind to the core, but the rest of the clan would always give them the cold shoulder, only a hand full would still be friendly towards them.
' I had thought that they would have moved away from the clan, it would seem Brqiel never thought that her own family would betray her like that...sigh*, anger is like an eternal flame, you never snuff it out when venting it but merely passing it on.'
While Mythander was busy speculating the meanings behind evrything, Shur and little Akeno finished there lunch, after which Shuri told Akeno to start preparing for bed. 
After brushing her teeth Akeno climbed into a futon, Shuri was about to turn of the light and join her but Akeno complained she wanted to hear a story. Shuri could only comply and started reading one to her. After finishing the story she turned of the light and joined Akeno.
Mythander waited for a moment longer until they were in deep sleep before getting up from the tree branch, with one step he jumped off the tree but instead of falling he slowly glided forward until he touched the ground right in front of the little house.
He was about to enter when he saw a flower in a pot next to the door, it was unfortunately dying, Shuri has been trying to get it to grow for a week already without any luck. This night Mythander decided to help her just a little...
He taped the flower with the tip of his finger and if magic because it was, the flower started revitalizing and bloomed into a beautiful red flower.
'I should visit the library and get a book on earths plants' Mythander had a passing thought as he realized he didn't know the little flower name or what family it was from, his knowledge of earth and its fauna and flora was somewhat lacking.
Having taken care of the unknown flower, Mythander stepped into the little house facing thought the door like a ghost and even the crudely made talismans couldn't stop his haunting figure from entering the home.
After entering the little house, he chose an especially dark corner in the room Shuri and Akeno were sleeping in and sat down, the darkness embraced him, literally it was as if it was alive as it folded around him further obscuring him.
Mythander had been doing this ever since he started protecting Shuri and Akeno, he thought it would be best if he was inside of the house so as to be able to react a lot quicker to any danger and to be close enough to protect the two, even if somebody jumped from out of a crack in the floor right next to Shuri he wouldn't even be able to leave a quarter way before being beset upon by thunder, fire, frost, darkness, would attacks and even the very air he breathed and the earth he walked on.
Mythander waited for the assailants, but they never came like the previous nights, the sun rose without any incident ones again.
One Year Later...
Mythander was leisurely lying on his favorite tree branch, a piece of grass in his mouth. He was watching as Shuri watered her garden and Akeno helps her every now and then.
During this whole time, Baraqiel had only visited them ones, for a few days before leaving. This happened about seven months ago. Mythander sighed as he thought about Baraqiel, he could not understand why he would still risk these dangerous missions when he had a family he had to protect.' What was the point of falling in love and having a child when you're never with them?  wish you could one day give me an answer, Baraqiel. That is why I will do something to make you realize there importance.'
Mythander had started doubting his previous plan of stopping the incident, now he was still planning on stoping those 'things' (People that will kill Shuri) from killing Shuri, but he will make Baraqiel believe they succeeded. The only downside about this was that he will have to make Akeno believe it too, thus he was hesitant.
Watching Shuri slowly watering the plants humming, Akeno behind her holding another watering can full of water, Mythander gave another sigh. He felt like he was sighing a lot lately, Sigh*
'We will see when they attack, I just hope I choose as wisely as I am suppose to be'

I met with a God, that's right "a" not "the", and made a deal with him. I will go to four different worlds and make four legends and in return, he would grant 3 wishes and a free reincarnation pass into any world of my choosing.

The third and I might say weirdest life of them all I was an elf. I help slay a Demon King with a hero, it's also what got me killed. The hero was actually summoned from Japan in my old world so it was kinda strange.

The fourth life was the most fun I must say.
I was born as a fucking Dragon. During my life, I burned kingdoms to the ground and was a scourge upon the world. I finally died of old age after a hundred thousand years of tormenting that world.

Now finally after four lives and millions of years, I can finally live free again.

I,Zeng Tian, was there on the peak of existence, blood covering my fist.
My mission was successful. I had fought against the dark sect led by the dark arts user Dan Qiang. But at what cost. 
During this fight I had lost all friends, family and love of my life.
We had to do it to protect the He Xie sect. It was the product of 150 years of hard work from all of my friends and allies I made throughout my journey.
A tear rolled down my cheek as I was admiring the sunset from my snowy platform painted in red. Behind me laid the corpses of the people I had just just killed. Beside me was my sword which was made of pure Essence flames. It was crafted by one of the greatest craftsmen in the Mozen Empire. His name was Xiong Jiang and was one of my greatest friends.
Despite being king, he was humble and loved by his kingdom. 
The silence reminded me of my youth when I was still a child. Me and my dad used to climb the hills around our town to observe the sunset just like this.
Then a thought came to my head, there was one skill which I had left. It was the most powerful one I knew. I took it out from my storage ring and on the cover of the book was written " Return of the Gods". This book allowed me to go back in time to a specific but if used wrongly it could cost the user's life.
I opened the book and a huge wave of energy hit my face. All the knowledge entered my brain at once. I was in daze.
This book was actually alive. It had a consciousness of its own
A little spirit came out. It was dressed in a yellow robe with golden accents. A golden glow around it. It had an air of power around it.
It said to me:
"  Are you the one who summoned me from my deep slumber?"
I nodded gently and bowed to it.
"May I know your name, Elder?" I said while bowing.

He replied:
" You are still too weak to know my real name but you shall call me Xiao Ming."

I nodded.

"Now tell me what you desire little one he said"

" Sir, I would like to have all my friends and family back in exchange for my power."

"So reincarnation is your goal. I shall accept your wish on only one condition though."
 
I was a bit reluctant at first but thinking about how I could change the past I accepted.
 "I see that you are courageous my son. My condition is that you achieve greatness in your future life using the teachings from the sacred book ' The Heart of the Dragon' which is the second part of the seven volumes of this martial art. This is also a part of my soul which I have left in this realm. I hope you revive my art. I shall accept you as my first and last disciple. You shall reflect what your name means and reach the heavens with your power, Zheng Tian."

I was baffled because I never mentioned my name to the spirit.

"Elder Xiao Ming, may I know how you know this young one's name?" I asked

"Hehe, I have been watching for more than 10 years. Since you found the book, I have been travelling with you all and you never noticed. The sole reason I accepted you as my disciple is because I saw how humble you are. Beside the fact that you have potential, you also have the perfect roots to adapt to 'The Heart of the Dragon' martial art. " He replied.

"Ok, enough of talking now. We shall start the process of reincarnation. But before I shall tell you the location of the second part of the book."

He snapped his fingers and out came an hologram.

I looked carefully and recognized the place. It was the front yard of my parents' house.
I looked at it whilst a tear started to form near my eye. I was remembering all the good moments I had spent there. The grass and the fish pond in the middle of the yard were all there. The old sakura tree with a swing tied to it. We were never rich but my father spent all his life working as a soldier in the army. He saved up money to buy this house but was never able to live in it for long. He had a disease which caused his death 5 months after buying the house.
Xiao Ming then pointed at the sakura tree and said:
"RIght under this tree, there is a box containing herbs and the book you are looking for. I hope you make good use of them."
He snapped again and the hologram disappeared.
"Now, let's start your reincarnation."
As he said that a giant magic circle appeared under my feet. A pain which I had never felt before was piercing me throughout my whole body. 
Soon after, that pain turned into a warm feeling. My body started to feel lighter as it went on.
After a while, some particles started appearing from my body and slowly I started to disappear.

"Young one, this is a just goodbye. We shall meet again soon. I am looking forward to our meeting." Xiao Ming said.

"Same old man," I said as I grinned.

I closed my eyes as my whole body disappeared.

When I opened my eyes again, I saw a familiar ceiling. It was that of my house. I looked through the window and saw the sakura tree outside.
"I am back," I whispered to myself.
