Isekiel muttered in surprise. Ah. I've asked him to make my eyes a different colour and seems like he did. (He smirked saying there were nothing he couldn't do). 
But why red? Was he surprised because I looked like a ghost? But the black idiot's eyes were pretty.

Isekiel seemed to have realized that now. He quickly stepped back and apologized. 
"Excuse me." 
Umm but you didn't have to back away like that. Isekiel and I were just standing not being able to do anything, not even our eyes meeting. 
He stayed still for a while until he asked.

I answered fidgetting with my hair. 
"I-I suddenly disappeared last time, right?"

"I was expecting it too but it is relief to see you have gone back to your place safely." 
Gasp. What are you? A saint? How do people like you who make others feel so refreshed exist? It was a great choice I chose to come back here. I would have felt guilty if I made a kid like him worry all along. Wahh.

The North boundry is separated by a huge ocean with diverse marine adaptations..Both dangerous and familier ones.
 
The South is the system of Huge mountains ranges and high peaks..The middle ones are all green..while on left side the ranges are all rocky and messy and towards the right the ranges are all snowy which adapts killer beasts and humanoids..

Then lies the East..That is all covered with thick,deep forests and wildlife. It is the 3rd most mysterious place on the palnet..No one knows what lies in the centre of that forests but there's a saying that whoever reaches its centre(The  Chroma -Point), may witness the doorway to the otherworld..basically EARTH!

And the last but not the least are the West posts of Polestar..Its the 2nd most mysterious place on Chronostar..It starts like a huge wall reaching up to the sky..and behind that wall is all mist and fog.

No one has ever went there nor there is any information about it...Its strictly forbidden for common ellites to enter even the range of 3 kilometers near that invisible wall..

The west post is the believed to be the end of the world and only dead ones resites there.Hence this place is always left undisturbed..

.....Relationship between Chronostar and Earth...
According to the Chronostarian's Mythology..Chronostar was created millions of years ago along with the other planets in our solar system..
However..at that time the people who live on Chronostar were not supported by the other lifeforms of the other planets including Earthlings
It was because only Chronostarians have priority over magical talentsand they were tremendously wealthy.. which was not a good thing for the other lifeforms..
According to Chronostarian's Ancient records..The Earth leaders persuaded the other individual planet leaders and envaded on chronostar..
Millions of people died and mines were looted..
Therefore,Being abdruptly dissapointed the Chronostarian's Dieties decided to hide their planet into a different universe..
However .. they weren't able to convince God as doing this will interrupt the nature's balance and thus the only way left to them was to disguise themselves into a whole different dimension but..on the same orbit..And thus the 5 Dieties that held the responsibilty of chronostar sacrificed themselves and got submerged into its core...
The energy then released was afterwards used by the people to open the gateway to a different dimension and thats how chronostar got separated from the original solar system..

Since then the people on Chronostar have a deep grudge against Earthlings as they are been taught about their cruelness since childhood..

They fear Earthlings and thus,never made a contact with them...

The positive ones were all pretty standard publicity and ideas shared by the players. The noob questions were mostly just stacked with more noob questions and there is rage about the almost non-existent character editor. But the bug posts are gathering a lot of attention.
The players that had their characters die had to restart with their characters again like a clueless Nil. Their rage and frustration were aimed at the part where their future advanced characters might die and have to start over from scratch. The posts started to dominate the forums so much that the company gave out an immediate response with a broadcast.
[Hello our dear players! We hope you had fun with your first experience playing the game. Well for the ones who didn't, we made this broadcast to explain the situation about character deaths. We strived to make the game as realistic as possible that includes death and character appearance.
For the appearance, it's your body, so if you are dissatisfied about it, do something about it! We don't promote an unhealthy lifestyle and encourage you to keep yourself fit and healthy. The only ones with exception are ones with disabilities and diseases. But you were asked about it while buying the game, at that time you can get an assist token, where an assistant will help you over the connection, to get you a normal body type.
Now about character death. If your characters would just respawn after dying, other characters wouldn't have fear or emotional attachment. So character deaths are final. When restarting you can leave the character the same and it won't affect the world, because it will be transferred to another server of the game, with all irrelevant memories gone.
But if you are worrying that you can't get to play as your character repeatedly dies, we can guarantee that it won't happen. Because every time the character dies, it does keep some information that is crucial to its survival. This will allow it to have a better start every time it dies.]

[For the ones still complaining, this is the core part of the realism of our game, so it won't change no matter how much you complain about it.]

˝So this is the part where I can choose where to appear? So this must be a barrier, so that I can only do it near where I left. But how do I do it? Just decide to materialize…?˝ My words are cut off since I materialized 3 meters above round, where my ghost body was floating.
Just in the last moment, I land on my legs and roll to kill the drop momentum. I have cold sweat while the stuff I had while I disappeared fell behind me on the floor.
This scene made everyone in the cathedral stare, with some grumbling and snickering here and there.
I sigh, pick up my stuff and look around with the hopes of finding anyone from my group. But alas, no luck with that, so I walk alone to the information booth where I am greeted by another attendant. An male cleric, with brown hair and green eyes.
˝Hello! I am one of the Nils that joined the cleric guild… How long was I away resting my spirit? I have no clue.˝ I greet nicely, but become confused as I don't know how long I was away resting.
˝Hello! You were away for about a day. So what can I do for you?˝ He responds courtly.
˝Am I the only who has come back from resting from our group?˝
˝Yes, you are the only one who has awoken till now.˝ He reaffirms me.
˝Alright, I read through this holy magic theory book over the night yesterday. Do I need to read the other four books first or can I start my training already?˝
˝Good. You can go exchange that book here for the other basic books, or you can go to the guild member booths and search for a tutor that will teach you how to use the holy magic theory. I would advise you to do the latter and after tutoring come exchange the book, so you can read in your free time.˝ He gives me some useful suggestions.
˝Thank you! I guess I will go find a tutor. Will see you around then, bye bye.˝ I wave and leave toward the guild booths at the right side of the cathedral.
The booths were also adorned with ornamental carvings and behind the counter there is a whole wall spanning bookcase that could be called a small scale library. Behind the counter there was a silver haired, white eyed man with pointy ears- an elf.
˝Welcome to the cleric guild administration counter, how can I help you?˝ He asks with a neutral face.
˝Hello, I am a new Nil guild member. I have studied the holy magic theory and was told that I can get here a tutor on how to actually use it. Can you help me?˝ I ask with a curious yet innocent expression.
˝Yes, let me get the list of the currently available teachers.˝ He walks to the bookcase and searches for a moment before dragging out a book.
He opens it on the counter and turns the pages. In the meantime my stomach grumbles.
The elf glances at me for a moment before looking down.
˝You can decide on a tutor, but I advise you to go to the market to get something to eat first. Magic takes a lot of energy and we don't want you to just collapse in the middle of training.˝ He explains patiently while still turning the pages.
˝Yes, I will do that right after finding a tutor.˝ I answer awkwardly.
He nods and stops on a page, he turns the book around and pushes it to me.

If you just want to learn how to use holy magic, you can pick anyone from these, but Jhanandra is an elf that dedicated her life to research holy magic. She will have a deeper understanding and will explain it in more detail, which should also make your learning and later research easier if you decide to study it.˝ He explains with a proud expression.
˝Can you explain it in more detail?˝ I ask hopefully.
˝Well, she will probably help you activate your mana core, teach you how to manipulate the mana efficiently, how to effectively use and collect karma strings, as well as teach you at least one spell for free. If you are a good student, you will reach further with her as your tutor than others.˝ His behavior became more prideful, probably because she is a fellow elf.
˝I decided, I want Jhanandra to be my tutor. At what time do I have to come for the lecture?˝ I ask the attendant.
˝In about 2 hours at the least. She researches late into the night, as she sleep in late.˝ He answers with a slight frown.
˝Thank you! I will be back by that time, Goodbye.˝ I say my farewells and leave for breakfast.
Walking through the city I enter the market area, all the buildings here are multilevel shops which belong to merchants and crafters with catwalks[1], which are tightly connected in a circular layout around the square with stalls of smaller merchants around them.
I decided to go look around the stalls for cheap food, since I will need the dew for learning skills from my tutor, and I can't waste too much on food.
I stopped at a stall that was grilling some meat and vegetables which released a very sweet aroma. The stall is manned by a pair of hobbits by the looks. They are short, curly haired, with short pointy ears and big but not hairy feet .
'Wait, what is a hobbit and why do I know what they should look like?' I thought confused.
˝Hello! Can I ask what it is that you are grilling?˝
˝Welcome! This meat comes from a Toskr squirrel. It has juicy and tender meat, marinated with our special honey sauce. This here is a mix of local vegetables and fruit, grilled and covered in honey.˝ The hobbit man answers while continuing grilling.
He has short brown curly hair, brown eyes and a muscular build even if he looks like a 10 year old.
˝Isn't it too sweet with all that honey?˝ I ask.
The female looks at me a bit more carefully and exclaims.
˝Ah! You must be one of the new Nils! Well in the fairy country everything is more or less sweet. Fonn, give him a piece to try.˝ She nudges the man.
The girl has long dark blond hair with hazel eyes, along with a childish charm.
He nods and gives me a piece on a toothpick. The smell is so nice, that I don't even care that it came from a squirrel.
˝Wow! This is so good! How much for a portion?˝
˝A portion is 3 red dew.˝ She answers.
˝I'll take it!˝ I exclaim.
Fonn starts to put the portion on a solid wooden leaf and I glance at the pair's characteristics.
˝So… Like you guessed, I am a Nil. So I am a bit interested in which races are available and their characteristics. Can you tell me about your race?˝
˝Ah, so you are curious? Well, we are brownies, small wingless fairies that are tied to the earth and home. We rarely travel since we like the coziness of our homes too much, but have two magic elements instead of one, like the other fairies. We are mostly skilled in earth and fire magic. That's why we are good at cooking and crafting. By the way, my name is Hes. What is your name?˝
I take my food and introduce myself.
˝My name is Baldr, nice to meet you two. Do you have anything interesting to tell me about this place? I want to understand this place a bit more before I have to return for training.˝
˝Well, this is the South End market square. The buildings around here are mostly merchant houses and crafting guilds. The merchant houses have a bigger array of products, sometimes even from foreign lands, while the crafting guild are all here to attract potential customers for their members or to gather materials. Here in the center are stalls of local small businesses.˝ Fon explained while he continued to grill.
˝And what are you training? A combat class, right?  Since you look like you don't know about the crafting guilds and merchant houses.˝ Hes asks.
˝Yes, I am training in the cleric combat class. I just came out to eat right before I started training.˝
˝Oooh, we got ourselves a cleric~. Well thank you and come again! Rush hour is about to start so we won't be able to talk anymore.˝ He explains.
˝Ok. See you again sometime!˝ I say goodbye to the two brownies and leave.
I finish my meal while looking at the market square a bit more before returning to the cleric guild. Just as I am walking through the door a tall and slim elven woman with white hair and yellow eyes rushed with a ton of things in her hands, crashing into me from behind yelling ˝I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!˝
She crashes onto the floor with all her belongings, while I was sent in a straight line towards one of the guards.The guard doesn't even flinch and sidesteps causing me to crash into a pillar.
˝Ah sorry! I didn't see you there!˝ She stands up and runs towards me.
She pulls me off of the pillar, puts me down on my back and chants a spell. A white light glowed on her hand started to heal my scratches and my nosebleed.
Shaking my head, I looked at her again; she looked like a beautiful angel and her panicked expression made her look even cuter.
˝A klutz…˝ I muttered.
She blushed with embarrassment, stood up and left to pick her belongings without saying anything anymore.
'Shit, did I say that out loud?!' 
I panicked and hurriedly stood up to help her.
˝Um, hello sorry for what I said earlier. I was still absent minded a bit after that crash. Let me help you.˝
She looked at me and pouted.
˝It's ok, it was also my fault. But don't call me a klutz!˝
˝Haha, I won't do it again. My name is Baldr, a new Nil in this city, what's your name?˝ I ask with a smile.
˝My name is Jhanandra Lucyne. This towns researcher of holy magic.˝ She said with a proud smile.

Dan finaly bought the new CDVR headset especially made for the newest mysterious game released with it. A very interactive world full of adventures, wars and competition, free to be discovered without the danger of PRO and P2W players.
Because the characters don't always follow what the player wants.
What will happen?

Thomas watched as the archangel and demon divided, flanking him there in the sands, both moving in tandem. It was quite clear to Thomas what was going on as he gripped his scythe and swung it around himself in an arc of protection that drove the two executioners back somewhat. That flashing blade dipped and rose with every swing making it hard to judge just where he would launch his attack from. The archangel was the first to lose its composure, watching the scythe flash by the mace wielder jumped forward only to cringe as the blade suddenly reversed, sweeping from the side in a deadly silver arc.

Jumping back the demoness dove in, coming in low to the sands with her vicious daggers aiming low to castrate or disembowel Thomas, yet like her companion, she too was driven back as Thomas side stepped the lunge and swung his own scythe over head and down, the nasty point aiming for the nape of the demoness' neck, forcing the dagger weilder to roll out of the way in a hurry. With quick foot work Thomas stood opposed to the two killers casually swinging his weapon as his eyes mocked their efforts.

Readying up the pair once again separated to flank him however this time Thomas wasn't as accommodating. As the pair parted Thomas stepped forward directly engaging the archangel with the mace, the golden weapon swept back and forth in a panic as the scythe swung with practiced ease in Thomas' hands. From this initial push he had all but confirmed the identities of his three attackers, the crowd didn't matter, they were the chickenshit looky loo's who were quick to gang up and mob a weak foe but were the first to avert their eyes when the truly strong dropped pressure on them.

No, it was the executioners and 'caesar' that he focused on, well, more the latter. The former pair showed their combat experience was pathetic. The archangel looked impressive but apparently didn't know its weapons from its arse. As for the demoness, as exposed as Thomas' back had become the demoness had yet to even try to capitalize on his distraction. Rather she tried to reposition to support the angel but instead fell victim to the sweeping arc of the scythe's haft, the length swinging up under her pointed chin and slamming into her jaw. The demoness' head snapped back as blood and broken teeth erupted into the air.

The angel moved to try and reach the demoness but came to a halt as the scythe reversed course and flipped over in Thomas' hands. He might no longer be a swordsman but his body still recalled some tricks which he now brought to bare against the unfortunate archangel who stopped dead as the scythe's pointed tip tore through her midriff and up under her ribs into her chest! Blood spewed from another mouth as eyes went wide, the golden orbs held disbelief and regret as weak hands reached down to grasp the cruel blade buried deeply under its chest.

The demoness screamed in pain and rage scrambling towards the pair as Thomas ripped his blade free of the Angel's chest showering him in a fountain of crimson, gritting his teeth he swung the scythe parallel to the ground, the silver arc now tainted in crimson blood as it swept across the demoness' shoulders tossing the crying, bloodied head from its shoulders to bounce across the sands. Breathing slowly, Thomas flicked his weapon, splattering the sand with even more blood. Looking around, the crowd was fleeing. Their executioners were dead, the show was over, thus lime rats on a sinking ship the host of watchers fled.

Thomas lifted his gaze to caesar. That figure gripped the edge of the viewing box in rage before turning away for the exit only to stop when he heard Thomas call out, "You are formally ejected from our party Ridley."

Caesar whirled with a snarl of rage as Thomas looked up from the blood soaked sands. Next to him lay the executioners who he reached out and tore their disguises away. The sandy haired body limply clutched at his spilled guts, looking at Thomas with tear filled eyes holding not but anger and hatred. The demoness was revealed to be Mina, which brought a sigh to his lips. So much for making her part of the harem. Before her avatar dissolved Thomas knew the real life girl had long since been ejected from her pod, but if she wasn't brain dead from being decapitated at 99% realism, she was likely paralyzed from the neck down.

Glancing around the empty arena as his former two party members shattered he sighed and sat on the filthy sands. His own pod was locked with no way to log out, thus he'd just have to wait until either someone let him out or school shut down and forcefully logged him out. Hopefully the former once Ash and Ingrid realized he was missing... the latter situation sucked. Forceful rejection from a pod always put extra strain on the body and mind, for the rest of the day he'd feel like he was dragged under a bus.

Idling on the sands Thomas decided to practice on his own a bit, getting use to his new class even more. From the brief fight he had learned that he could still move quite deftly, much like his old class. The only problem was his gear. Looking down at himself, the cowled robe that made up the Necromancer starter package was rather bulky and bland, it felt like he was trying to fight while wearing a tent. When he got the chance he'd have to see what kind of replacement gear he could use, the moomoo like robe was just not his style at all.

Time crawled by as Thomas practiced his moves on the empty sands, he had tried keeping track of how long he'd been stuck but lost count and gave up on it quickly. Trying to count the time was driving him batty to begin with. Suddenly a prompt opened up over the field dragging his attention away from his thoughts. The window showed Ash and Ingrid looking back at him with concern. "Well guess you found me? Where did they stick me?"

Ash looked to have been most distraught, her makeup was messy and her eyes puffy, "An unused classroom, looks like someone wheeled you in here between classes."

Thomas nodded looking to Ingrid, "How's Mina?"

Ingrid frowned glancing aside, "Dead. They found her in a pod upstairs, she bit through her tongue. Apparently from what the examiners had claimed was that the nerves to her spine were fried, paralyzed she chose suicide. And before you ask, yeah he's dead too. Heart failure in the pod next to hers. There was a third empty pod that had been used but we couldn't find the user."

"Ridley." Thomas growled through clenched teeth, his fists tightening in rage, Lucifer flashed behind his eyes wanting something so strong it was literally tearing the virtual arena apart in its intensity.

Ash and Ingrid blinked, "What about Ridley? He left a few hours ago due to feeling sick... wait... you aren't suggesting...?"

Thomas nodded grimly, "Ridley was playing judge and jury and sicc'd those two on me. The arena is set for near max realism."

Ash's eyes nearly caught fire as rage quickly took over her once worried visage, "I'm gonna kill him."

Ingrid laid a restraining hand on Ashley's arm and shook her head, lightly inclining to the screen. Thomas stood alone in that bloody arena but his avatar was distorting, the very arena sand around him was smoking as a heat erupted from his avatar. The lone necromancer seemed to explode and be replaced by a hulking figure of crimson fury, fingers dug into the glass the sand had become as the beast that was Lucifer manifested completely. Ash covered her mouth looking at those red eyes so filled with rage as error messages began erupting on the screen.

Ingrid hurriedly grabbed Ash yanking her away as the monitor imploded. The near by pod started with a sirens wail. Announcements came over the PA system for students to collect at muster zones as the school network was advising an immediate evacuation. Ash's phone rang and as she answered Samuel screamed into it, "Get the fuck out of there girl! The system has detected Lucifer, or at least his impending release, if you are near Thomas get the fuck away from him now!"

Ingrid growled looking from the phone to the pod whose entire structure actually seemed to be losing out to the heated contents. "What's going on Samuel? I thought you said he had Lucifers power, not that he was Lucifer!"

"There's no time! If you are near him get the hell away now! I'll explain when you get a safe distance, now move your asses girls!"

The pair looked at each other, to the phone then to the pod, "But Thomas..."

"Listen to me! He's fine! You two won't be if Lucifer wakes up and you're the first people he sees. Run. Don't look back. This is the first we're talking about, Thomas is in no danger it's you two at ground zero!"

Hanging up the pair ran, Samuel hadn't explained what was happening but from Thimas' last message before Lucifers powers started going ballistic it could well be guessed. Ridley had tried to assassinate Thomas using Mina and the other to keep his own hands clean yet somehow he'd revealed himself to Thomas and when he learned that the mastermind had fled leaving his stooges to die something snapped. As they burst outside an explosion ripped through the other side of the building, both girls ducked and covered, glancing back warily to where Thomas had been imprisoned. Yet, no sign of him could be seen...

Elsewhere, a sturdy built young man was throwing things into a suitcase, while a pair of eyes watched the hurried packing with some wonderment. Lilith watched her flustered son, this was a first. Never in his life had Ridley ever fled before a challenge, this made her wonder just how deep the shit pile he stepped in went. "Alright my darling Riddie, tell mummy what happened and we'll smooth this all out."

Ridley looked at her in mild annoyance, as much as he loved his mother he had to admit she was a bimbo through and through. What could make the son of the sister of the literal devil incarnate flee? Pissing on the devil's face of course! Sighing he shook his head, "I tried to kill Thomas earlier."

Lilith mind blanked as Ridley said those words, her playful smile was gone as she slumped weakly against the door frame. "Ridley honey, please repeat that, I can't have heard properly..."

Ridley snarled at her turning, "I tried to execute that shit stain Thomas, I had two of our teammates try to kill him in a hacked pod. He won."

Lilith blinked slowly, "Did you apologize?"

Ridley laughed, "Apologize? Sorry uncle luci that I tried to turn your host into fertilizer, no hard feelings right?"

Lilith shook her head, "Oh my poor sweet boy, no wonder you're packing. You simply don't understand my brother. Attempting to kill him is just another day that ends in 'y' for him. No you poor poor child, what would really piss my brother off..."

Her words were cut off as an inferno gripped the wall of Ridleys room, the fire specifically removing that blockage revealing a slender figure whose flesh glowed a striking red. Two ram like horns of fire emerged from the boys forehead as fiery bat wings lazily flapped keeping the figure steady in the air here on the thirteenth floor. Two eyes blazing like stoked coals narrowed on the pair.

Lilith swallowed the dry lump in her throat, "No, to really piss my brother off all you needed to do was try to run."

Thomas, a womanizer and playboy is the very next contestant that the fates decree should be given a new body and life. After hitting on the goddess in charge of restoring him to life Thomas finds himself in an alternate reality where deviance, corruption and evil are the norm. In a world where fantasy meets virtual reality Thomas wanders around experiencing a life where morality is the dirty word. But is this all? Surely there must be more!

Like any tale Thomas will have to survive and face a turning of existence while putting as many notches on his bed post as possible.

My name is Timothy Philips. I will not bore you with the details. All you need to know is I am one of the doctors who handled the autopsy of the Gold Men boys.
I'll cut to the chase. They appeared to be gold, but that's only the case outside of their bodies. A massive chunk of people was sort of glued together to form a statue made of gold. We soon realized that these golden statues contain blood and muscles and bones and the whole human anatomy within them. Now, one could say here that this is just another case of an art form to bastardize the life of men, and this is only a work of the messed up mind of Giuseppe San Sebastian, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Everything is too intricate and advanced for even professional forensic pathologists like me to perform.
We have three different cases in our hands at the time. There are the bodies that were covered entirely with gold. Again, be mindful that they are not golden people; they are people covered with gold. Their skins turned into gold. There are only a few cases of these men wherein their bodies contained a few gold particles within their bodies. There's also the case of the two bodies that had their insides became gold. Their entire digestive system all be gold while their skin is completely untouched, save for their arms.
The last case, of course, is the infamous Giuseppe San Sebastian. He is a simple case, really. Let me roll out what's in everyone's head already, and that is the fact that his head is gold. Simple conclusion: He dipped his head in the contraband to off himself. Now, this is where the case takes a huge turn. I know it is not my jurisdiction as a doctor to make any conclusions, nor is it my job to make any conclusion, but it is quite evident at this point that he dipped his head in the water.
To be honest, there's nothing much to say about this case when it comes to my part of it, but the best I could say is that whatever it is that Detective Morrison was saying is false. I heard him once say that it is their destiny or something why they all turned into gold. I think that's an unfair analysis of the Gold Men Case. I respect Detective Morrison as a human being, but his belief made it seem like they had no choice other than to face whatever it was that was coming to them. That is very unfair to these poor people, and it is very unfair even to think that he would say that they were in the right place and at the right time when they died. That is horrible, and that is something one should ever say about deceased people, in my humble opinion.
These men are a more prominent victim of an affair way bigger than any of them or any of us, for that matter. If we looked at it subjectively, they are both a victim of the Cleveland scandal and their own will to stop whatever it is they wanted to stop. It is all muddled as to what their goal is for raiding rich people on the street. I do not condone their actions either. However, I will not come here and say that having their bodies turned into gold is something they had coming, or was it something that was a part of their destiny. They are unfortunate people who had an unfortunate encounter with something they never expected to face.
As for the gold, there's also nothing much to talk about them. The gold is real, authentic gold, and there is no scientific way as to how I can explain why these people had a portion of their bodies turned into gold. The only lead we have is, well, San Sebastian's fantasy story.
My point is that this is something a human could do. What we're seeing is not a big crime wherein someone carefully placed human body parts on perfectly made human statues. The case at hand is not the work of destiny or whatever it is that they were thinking about to make sense of that case.
Does it matter at the end of the day? We cannot explain what happened to them. We don't even know if we'll ever be able to unravel the secrets in it. I sure was curious a few years before, but now, I'm not so sure. I feel insecure about the fact that there seems to be nothing we could do to explain it. It ruined my interest in the matter. Why would I waste my time in further research on this phenomenon that one never encountered before?
All I could hope now is that this will be the first and the last of such a thing.
Imagine thinking that these sorts of phenomena have been happening since the Middle Ages, and we didn't know anything about it? Or imagine the prospect of having a future where people would use such a technology that could turn people into gold in wars.
Either way, it's a scary thing to think about wherever I may go.
Now, if you wouldn't mind me going back to the topic at hand, if we dig deeper into the rabbit hole, we'll start seeing some more abnormalities in the victims' bodies. Let me cut to the chase. They're under the influence of a considerable amount of morphine in their bodies, but that is also a phenomenal part of the entire investigation aside from them being gold.
You see, if we follow San Sebastian's letters and apply his convenient recollection to what happened to the case, we can probably infer that San Sebastian died just a few more hours after the other gold men. We also analyzed the two other corpses lying beside the wooden contraband, and it matches up. All of them died almost at the same time.
The problem with this is that the insides of the gold men, you know, their system, is entirely preserved. I do not understand how it happened. I wish I could pinpoint you to an answer as to how their bodies get preserved inside their golden shells. However, what I can tell you, as concise as possible, is that staying within the gold statues made the insides of their body look as if they all died a few hours before we unraveled their system. Finding out about this is unbelievable. Take note that it took three months before we could even see the statues and another month before we could even touch them. It took another year before we were allowed to dissect what's within those statues. It took a year for us to know for sure that there are people inside those golden statues. It seems unreal to think that the victims' blood remains as fresh as ever by the time we conducted the autopsy on them.
To make all that clearer for the ordinary viewers, they died a long time ago, but the insides of their bodies looked as if they just died an hour ago. It seemed like time had stopped inside those golden statues. It's unbelievable. Like, you can't even preserve gold properly. To think that anything inside gold could stay fresh is, well, it's beyond science. I'm sorry, but that is beyond me.
There's a silver lining on this, though. That means we can examine the bodies of the victims with the mindset that they had all just died. Knowing this is why I find the letter of Giuseppe San Sebastian as, well, its fiction. It's a drug-induced fantasy. I'm sure not a lot of people would go by me talking about this regarding a dead person, but this is only the facts we have gathered along the way.
First, well, I'm not sure if detective Morrison already spoke about this, but we found three pounds of cocaine below their hideout. All of them are not at all well-hidden below a wooden compartment a meter away from the contraband. Second, we saw traces of morphine in a used syringe right beside the letter of San Sebastian. Though we cannot prove anymore if he's under the influence of the drugs, we can prove one thing, and that's my third point.
There are traces of morphine in the system of the so-called golden men. Now, I cannot explain how their bodies turned that way, but I can tell the magical realism implanted within the words of San Sebastian, and that is why I am still an astute critic of the man's words. We cannot prove if he's using drugs, but it seems plausible enough for us to conclude that his fantasy is an effect of the opioids in their bodies,
To be fair to San Sebastian, though, he is the only lead we had in explaining the gold men phenomena, but where are the pieces of evidence supporting this matter? Where is the water he speaks of in the letter? Based on what he wrote, it seemed that he used the remainder of the water to dip his head in it. Why? Most of his actions and most of what he wrote do not make sense.
I guess that pretty much summarized the entire case. It does not make sense. It continues to be an enigma none of us could explain.
Facts are facts, though, and the data shows that the men are under the influence of whatever drug they were putting within their bodies. They are drug-addicted individuals who got lucky, or well, I guess, in this case, they weren't so fortunate because they are too unhinged to understand what they stumbled themselves upon in that cabin.
I remembered having a short conversation with San Sebastian's mother. Poor woman, I forgot her name, though, but she seemed sweet and kind. She's very polite too. Well, polite until I talked about the truth behind her son. See, I told her with all honesty all that I found out regarding the case. I was just a doctor doing my job.
I told her straight up. The man is on drugs. None of what he said is real. Sorry. That's just the truth.
And, haa… Well, the woman flipped. It seemed that I had triggered a switch I shouldn't have triggered. In my defense, I was in the assumption that she's well enough to believe in the data I am showing her. She's a determined woman; that I can say. She kept telling her that my words are lies and how her son is an honest to god Christian boy and all that which is a massive contradiction if you think about it because the boy lied to her about whatever it is he was doing while he's under the pretense that he's a hero. He's a hero of drug addicts, that's what he is.
She kept lambasting me for the entirety of our conversation and how the devil possessed her son, haha, I mean, can you imagine the amount of mental gymnastics people would come up with just to make sense of their tragedies? She kept that belief for the remainder of her life. She kept saying that the devil influenced her son and all that… stuff. I spoke to other parents, too, but they weren't as hysterical her. Most of them were reasonably mad, but they did not curse me for doing my job. This woman truly believed that her sweet little son, Giuseppe, who's probably just as much of a junky as most of his friends, was possessed by Satan. I mean, reading his letters is enough for us to know that he's not well. He needs therapy. He seems to believe that he's living in this dystopia Middle Ages world, and for all I know, his words are just something he read in a book about alchemy or some other fantasy novels he might have fancied.
They're all fiction, but we do also have men turning into gold, so sure, I can welcome the devil in the equation too! Hahahahaha!

She kept running, the bundle in her hands far too bulky for her arms.  She kept adjusting as it slipped, trying not to slow down.

 Cora eyed her stamina bar with disfavor.  It was emptying faster the lower it became and red was the dominant color.  Even now, it was starting to do that evil flashing dance.  She gritted her teeth, ears straining.

 She wasn't in vain.  Behind her, the faint sounds of pursuit were getting louder.  She knew her path wasn't invisible since she'd neglected any Stealth abilities in favor of a bunch of useless ones that had sounded interesting.  She vaguely regretted not listening to her annoying cousin, but at least a couple of them had combined into Stamina Boost +5.  She'd still been too annoyed to inform her cousin of the combo; besides, he had a big mouth and would spread it all over the forums in pursuit of a little extra Glory.

 Glory, as she'd been constantly informed, could help with innumerable things, such as gaining a title, land or even extra points when you leveled.  The memory of rolling her eyes at her cousin's raptured expression gave her the extra boost of courage to free one hand and chug her only stamina potion.  It had been given to her when she began the quest to find herbs in the forest.  She hadn't given it much thought, thinking she might have to run away from monsters.

 The bar immediately stopped flashing and shot full half-way while her HP bar lowered by a third.  She readjusted her hold on her package and continued running.  Unfortunately, she ran out of forest.  She worried about her HP levels; Cora couldn't remember what her cousin had said about healing.  Was it automatic or did she have to do something?

 She paused at the edge of the rolling meadow.  There was no way she'd make it to the next batch of forest before she was caught.  She hastily scanned her surroundings, noticing a large fallen log.  She sprinted to it, pulling out her small hand shovel and hastily digging a hole.  It was completed within seconds, just big enough for her to unroll the package's contents into it and pile leaves around.

 "Shh," she whispered, running a light hand over the scaly head, still marveling at the realism of the game.

 The tiny dragon looked at her with pitiful eyes.  She'd found her pursuers tormenting the little thing and had objected.  She'd objected enough to snag the creature while they were distracted arguing with her and run.  She was faster than most of them because she was still a Level 1 with no armor and Speed Boost +10.

 The boosts would both wear off soon.  They were only active during the afternoon, but she'd heard that most people only got two or three points to allocate per level.  With her boosts, it was like she'd gained seven or eight levels.  This was probably the only thing saving her, that and the rather 'useless' skill, 'Pioneering.'  It sounded imposing but no one could figure out its use.  She had no interest in telling people that it let you run without falling in forests and meadows.  At least that's what it felt like.  She hadn't run into any impediments during her flight.

 It was one of the things that her cousin Nate was always complaining about.  The boosts would only activate at specific times of the day, and it had seemed rather random when he tried to explain it to her.  Cora had just chalked it up to the game trying to throw in some sort of strategic element to stoke the fire of the collectors.  Heavens knew that those guys would play for literally years trying to collect every little trophy they could.

 She rebundled the bloody rags, stuffing the empty potion bottle in the middle.  The bottle would evaporate if unused in a couple hours, so it made a nice sturdy center.

 Then she stood up.  She'd make her last stand in the middle of the meadow.  Hopefully, the little dragon could escape while the others were distracted.

 Cora ran into the meadow.  She could almost feel the stitch in her side.  She didn't run this much in real life, let alone in a game.  She was more of a walker than a runner.

 When her cousin, Nate, had come up with the idea to play the latest full-immersion VR game, she'd scoffed.  Then he'd won a pair of pods in an online raffle.  He'd been so stoked that she didn't have the heart to turn him down when he'd had one of the them delivered to her house.

 She'd also been a bit scared after watching the news and seeing stories about people literally getting stalked for their pods.  Still, he'd done it in good faith, and she'd lucked into a neighborhood with decent security.

 "There she is!  She's still got our dragon!" A fury filled bellow rung out behind her.

 Cora kept running until she tripped.  She glanced around, startled, only to realize that what she'd tripped on was a rock protruding slightly out of the ground.  On further inspection, it looked like an old helmet of some sort that was nearly buried.  She scrambled to her feet even as a line of text flashed into existence in her peripheral vision.

 "Legendary Quest:  My Kingdom for a Horse commences.  May invite up to five others to help."

 Her breath caught at the sight.  She hastily grabbed on the helmet and tugged it free, stuffing it into her bag, dirt and all.  Then she scooped up the bundle and turned to run, stopping as a ranger flashed in front of her, his eyes cold and angry.

 "Thief!  We've finally caught you!" he proclaimed.  The name "Flash Smokeon" drifted over his head.

 "Flash!  Does she still have the dragon?" Another angry voice asked behind her.

 "It's not yours.  It's a baby you were tormenting." Cora hugged the bundle closer to herself.

 "No, it's a Level 20 monster with only 100 HP." Instead of enraged, this voice was calm and cold almost to the point of apathy.  Cora glared at the woman.  "Astral Goddess" floated above the magician's head.  She was already garbed in a Level 10 magician's robe.  "Hand it over and we'll forget this ever happened, noob."

 "No, it's just a baby, and it's wrong to pick on it." Cora said, glancing around at the party that surrounded her.  Her arms tightened around the bundle as she glimpsed the little dragon digging itself out of the hole at the forest's edge.

 "Only cowards pick on the weak," she tossed out, glaring at Astral Goddess.

 "Only the weak object to being picked on," Astral Goddess replied.  She scanned Cora and smirked.  "You're only Level 1.  Did you start today?  Did no one tell you how to level?"

 Cora stayed silent.  She was supposed to meet up with Nate who was already at a whopping Level 10 despite only starting a couple days earlier.  While he'd laughed at her skill choices, he'd also promised to let her into his team to help her level.  It seemed that he'd made it to the top 100 in his class and felt it was despicable that his beloved cousin couldn't even beat a slime.

 She didn't have the heart to tell him that she'd rather use her skills to have fun than to learn to power level.  She honestly didn't want to learn how to beat a slime.  It was the same softheartedness that led to her rescuing the bleeding baby dragon.

 "We'll help you out.  Just give us the dragon, okay?" Astral smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.

 Cora marveled over how the programmers had managed such realism even as she pulled out her only weapon, a simple White Level 0 dagger.  She'd mostly been using it to chop up meat from the butcher with the idea to see if she could cook in-game.  If she hadn't used up her beginning funds on the meat, she wouldn't have been questing in the forest for herbs to fund a better knife and armor.

 At the movement, the rest of the party drew their weapons as well.  They were a multitude of glittery, shiny Levels that pretty much aped the promotional materials for the game itself.

 "I'm not giving you the dragon.  It's wrong to pick on something so helpless," Cora said firmly.

 Even as they raised their weapons to attack, Cora stared at the forest's edge.  A hint of startlement raced across her eyes.

 Even as the first blow reaped away 18 of her 20 remaining HP, Cora's attention was distracted.  She cowered, pretending the bundle in her arms was still the little dragon.

 "Got it!" The ranger behind her, Flash, crowed as he snatched the bundle away.  His expression changed as he flipped it open to find an empty bottle.

 "Where's my dragon?" Astral Goddess demanded, aiming her staff at Cora's head.  "I'm thinking you don't know that there's a death penalty, even if you're level one, right?"

 "Hah!  The noob doesn't even know that?  You get sent to the Underworld and have to level there before they let you out," a warrior wearing fur armor scoffed.  His axe was still bloody from wounding Cora.

 Cora's gaze flicked to them and then back to the forest's edge.

 "Your dragon," she said with a smile, "is over there."

 The group turned in the direction of her gaze and froze.  The little dragon was indeed there, but so were two other dragons, one of which was considerably bigger than the other two.  It was nudging the little dragon and thin tendrils of black smoke were curling out of its nostrils.

 Cora thought it was rather magnificent.  It was a stylized red and black like a proper D&D dragon and even had a frill of gold around its head.  The smaller one was an almost solid black, though goldish hints were apparent on its scales, and it resembled the baby dragon the most.  If not for the fulsome gaze the giant dragon turned on the group of players, she wouldn't have thought that the trio went together.

 "Dragon!  Run!" Flash screamed before following his own advice.  Even as he turned and headed for the forest at the other end of the meadow, the red dragon launched itself with a magnificent sweep of wings.

 "It's Level 90!  Level 90!" Another of the party cried as he scrambled in a different direction.

 "Go, I'll cover for you," the fur-clad warrior told Astral Goddess, nudging her in another direction.  "If we lose any equipment, we'll have to pay to get it back."

 At his words, Cora frowned.  Pay-to-play was definitely not her favorite way to do things.  She always thought that those people were not in the spirit of the game, even though she had been guilty of the same thing in past games.  Her purchases, however, were usually of cosmetic items and not of actual game-use.  Nate teased her about that to the point that she'd quit her last game.

 It was most definitely not wrong to purchase a purple unicorn to ride around on.  It'd been bound to the account so it wasn't as if she'd lose it to a PK.  Cora still stewed about that.

 Cora watched the party scatter, running for the forest.  She heaved a sigh of relief and collapsed on the ground.  If the dragon came for her, so be it.  At least her conscience was clear.

 At that moment, the baby dragon wormed its way into her lap, inspecting her worriedly.  Then it turned to the larger dragon that had trailed after it and made little hissing noises.

 "Now you're safe, little one.  You shouldn't wander around without by yourself around here.  There are far too many wicked people," Cora murmured.  She looked up as the red dragon appeared above her.

 "Aren't you a beauty?" She smiled even as her vision went black.  A string of glowing letters appeared briefly.

 "Stamina overdraft detected.  Fainted stage initiated.  Please avoid overdrafts in the future."

 In her pod, Cora blinked and then sat up, fingers drumming on the lid.  A ten minute countdown blinked on the game display.

 "But that's twenty minutes of game time!" She protested, flabbergasted.

Cora only wanted to play the new game her cousin conned her into.  She certainly never thought that a moment's moral decision would lead to something far more than she ever expected.  Or that it would help in ways no one expected when everything else started going sideways.

Then again, just why did she get stuck in a level 330 area when she was still just level 1??

In a dark room, a man with a depressed look and a young boy with black and white hair where sitting face to face. It looked like a casual talk between teacher and student, but, well it wasn't....
