Ezekiel started moving towards him practice arms around her shoulders and brought her in for a close hug and says in a soothing voice." there is no need to apologize you had done nothing wrong to me although my life was bad I have no regrets I've done what I wanted to do although there are a few things I wish I did do like get a girlfriend have a family I like I've always said that's just life we just got to do with what we have and make the best of it so don't cry for me".

Stephanie : but..*sob* you had such a miserable life...*sob* and the god of your world just look the other way and let you suffer*sob*... as a goddess myself one of his kind how can I not be sad as he watched one of his own children suffer...*sob* and yet through all that you don't blame, hate or curse the Gods that had watch you suffer*sob*.

EZEKIEL : why would I hate them it was a luck of the draw and I just so happened to draw the bad end of the stick so why should i hate them I did with what I had and made the best with what was given to me why should I hate them.

Stephanie : but... Before she could finish your sentence Andres Cuts in and interrupt her. 

Andres : even though he's a little bicth and a pussy he is right you know there's no point in crying over it there's nothing you or the other gods could have done about it besides you saw his memories even if he don't like any of it he didn't let it get to him he has a strong heart, strong mind, and strong will so you should not pity him you should be happy that  he does not hate you guys or curse you guys even though he's a little bicth.

Ezekiel : is it really necessary for the name calling?

Stephanie :*sob* he's right there really isn't any need for name-calling and what did you mean the other gods couldn't help him. she says  as her eyes were still red and puffy but at least she stop crying.

Andres : hahaha is there a need for name-calling of course there is why because he's too soft hearted, is irritating, and annoying as for your other question he not originally from that world. but in his thoughts he was thinking something else (he's not even from that universe or trivirs).

Ezekiel : damn that shrink was right you're a total dick you know that  you could be more nice instead of being such an ass.

Andres : I could but I'm not going to cuz I don't want to so get over it. besides you won't have to deal with me for long.

Ezekiel / Stephanie : what do you mean not for long.

Andreas : hahahahaha look there goes the couple again speaking at the same time and in sync. well like I was trying to tell you before we were interrupted I will be fusing our souls together and as for my memory I will create a system to store it I he got the idea from all the books and stories we read.

Ezekiel : what do you mean fuse are spirits together how you going to create a system.

Andreas : let's just say the things for the novels that we read are possible like there's a world of Naruto and they they exist and for all the books in The Maze mangas anything that is created out of people's imagination. or they're not technically created from nothing there exists the world and just so happens bits and pieces of those worlds tend to leak into the imagination or mind of people. as for us using our souls together well I was originally supposed to watch over you and protect you but there was a fatal error you're too soft so hopefully by fusing my soul and your soul together we can at least we balance each other personalities out and make are soul stronger.

Ezekiel : can you at least make the system a girl I don't want to have to listen to your voice no offense but dude that would be kind of awkward wouldn't you agree.

Andres : hahaha no offense taken and yeah I do agree with you so it will be an AI that is a girl with my current knowledge and i will have to be unlocked slowly as we get stronger that sound Fair.

EZEKIEL : that Sounds reasonable.

Stephanie : hay are you two forgetting about me.*pout*

Andres : yes

Ezekiel look at Andres angry with a vain poping out of his forehead 

Ezekiel : shut up Andres and no we weren't it just that he know all about me more then I know about my self although he is a jurk I trust him it dose not mean I am trying to ignore you.

Stephanie : * sigh* I know I just fill left out I'm I am the one that brought you hear to give you a chance to live happy life you deserve .

Ezekiel : know and I appreciate it. shows a kind and gentle smile.

Stephanie blushed and Andres look at them with intrigued eyes and an idea hit him with a cunning smile that no saw.

Andres :  hay Stephanie I have a proposition for you if your interested.

Stephanie:  what would that be. with questioning look in her eye

Andres : how would you like to be the sprit of the system since I will not have any of my memory so the only thing that well happen is that are personality will combine so it will basically be Ezekiel 2.0 it will be him with a personality up grade so he is going to need someone looking out for him and me I guess if your worried hire up don't be trust me.

Stephanie :*sigh* as much as would love to just like you said I would have deal with the hire ups.

Andres: ........ try ask well my and Ezekiel are fusing together it going to take some time so the only request I have for is somewhere he can build his Fondation and able to guarantee his wish come true.

Stephanie : *sigh* will try to ask as for request I well personally see to it.

Stephanie only wished Professor Hund was a little more competent, at least then she wouldn't have to be wasting the hundred points he had given her, learning something she would have otherwise learned in class.

The Library seemed to be completely empty apart from a librarian who Stephanie thought had to be an NPC—the Librarian just seemed so unreal—and Stephanie herself.

"Finally," she breathed as she found the book she was searching for.

If someone had told Stephanie that a day would come when she would visit a library without being forced, she would have rolled her eyes and probably laughed. But now as she held the leather-bound book in her hands, she couldn't help but frown. 

Books reminded her of her mother. Someone she shouldn't be thinking about unless she wanted to cry in no time. 

Whenever she thought of her mother, she thought of fire. Its colored flames devouring anything in its path with unbelievable hunger. Insatiable. Impossible. 

Whenever she thought of her mother, she remembered her father. And then all she would be able to feel is a deep rooted anger and hate. Hate for the man who had abandoned her and her mother. The very hate that threatened to make her abandon life as it currently was. 

Then when things got really bad, she would think about the very last words her mother had uttered.

'...remember Stephanie, no matter what happens, you have to be the best. Always be number one.'

Clutching the book to her chest, and staring at her black combat boots, Stephanie made her way to a section of the library that would keep her hidden.

She bumped into someone,

As she raised her head and recognized who she had bumped into, Stephanie couldn't help but feel angry. Not at the person but herself. Not at the very person who threatened her mother's last words, but at her weak self for making it happen.

Without as much as a word of apology whatsoever, she clambered away, constantly repeating to herself.

"I would be number one. I'd always be number one."

Nessa couldn't do anything but watch as Stephanie walked away shaking her head and holding a book like it was a lifeline. She had been idly walking to the bookshelves when she bumped into Stephanie.

Nessa partly blamed herself. She hadn't been looking where she was going; instead she silently wondered why Professor Avery had been so reluctant to help her.

She constantly replayed what the professor had said.

'I can't help you, at least not directly, not yet.'

But still, the more Nessa thought about it, the more she felt like grey hairs were replacing the black locks on her head.

Thinking is bad, she reminded herself as she made her way to the bookshelves. After moments of browsing, Nessa finally picked out a brown leather bound book and returned the way she had just come to a section of the library she thought no one would go to. 

Surprise became evident on her face the moment she saw Stephanie there too. She bit back a curse and went farther down the aisle sitting a few paces behind Stephanie.

Nessa spent what must have been hours reading the book. With satisfaction, she finally closed it. She finally understood. All Professor Hund had said was right, albeit ill explained. 

Nessa breathed deeply as she tried to sort through her thoughts. What she had just read in the book. She finally understood why it was easy for her to cast darkness magic. It was because her Ki flowed in the same pattern as darkness itself.

Everything in the world has Ki and everything is made up of a combination of the six elements. Each element in its own nature has its own Ki pattern, just like mages have their own Ki pattern.

The reason why it was easy for Nessa to cast darkness magic was because her Ki flowed in a pattern that 
resembled the pattern of darkness.

But that didn't mean that she needed to change her Ki pattern to cast a different element. It merely meant that she needed to adjust her flow-rate.

If she wanted to manipulate that very element in nature however, although she needs to adjust her flow rate, she would also have to take control of the element's own Ki.

What Nessa still didn't understand was what it meant to take control of the element's own Ki. Plus, if magic could be this simplified, why had Professor Hund insisted that certain elements are more easily manipulated in nature, than cast?

Not willing to rest until she knew everything, Nessa stood and made her way back to the bookshelves. This time she picked at least three books that she thought would help her.

Moments later as she walked towards her seat, she locked eyes with Stephanie. Behind her eyes, Nessa could see notthing but fury and extreme determination. 

'Gosh,' Nessa thought, 'Now I understand what it means for your fundamental element to be fire.'

Unwilling to waste any more time, she made her way to her seat. Her butt had barely touched the leather seat, when she opened the first book and started reading. It didn't take long before she discarded it and branded it useless, at least for now. The book kept talking about how it was easier to weave high end spells for group A elements than group B elements—not what Nessa was searching for.

A moment later another book was opened in front of her, and faster than the previous one, she discarded the book tagging it beyond useless.

The third book however, was a lot more useful. After five minutes of reading, Nessa already understood why it was easier to manipulate group B elements than cast them.

It is simply because,  the elements' Ki are easier to manipulate than even an individual's own Ki unless the individual had a pattern similar to that element. Whereas it was the exact opposite for group A elements.

Nessa thought back to the time Professor Hund had turned out all the candles in the classroom. Although she couldn't notice it then, now she could have sworn that she saw beads of sweat on Professor Hund's face.

Fire was a group A element, meaning it was easier for the Professor to manipulate his Ki (like making a fireball) than to manipulate the fire Ki (which was how he had turned off the candles.)

Nessa smiled as understanding shone on every portion of her face. If what she had discovered was true, it meant that even easier than making a dark energy ball, she should be able to manipulate darkness itself. All she needed to know was how exactly, she needed to manipulate darkness Ki.

Nessa made multiple attempts to try changing the form of shadows, but she could have as well been trying to light the night sky with a candle. Seemingly not satisfied, Nessa picked up the second book again, to see if there would be tips on how to control the world's Ki.

Just as she was about to begin reading, a hand appeared over the book. Nessa traced the hand up its arm, until her eyes landed on its owner's face.

Stephanie looked even more alert than she normally did. When she spoke, the words poured like several oceans on a beach. With so much authority. 

Nessa was tempted to say yes to what Stephanie had just demanded. The words still rang clear in her mind

"I challenge you to a duel?"

Nessa is a young paranoid girl who has no time for useless romance and cares about no-one but herself and her family. She's given a seemingly harmless gift which ends up changing her world as she knows it. Literally. 

Stuck in a different world with nothing but her wits and her brother, Nessa struggles to complete a game and escape a world filled magic, monsters and self made villains so she can return to reality. She soon finds out that this is indeed more than just a game and she was nothing more than a pawn in the hands of people far stronger than she was.

Despite the fact that the mc is female, she's neither a hero nor a villain. She's the most paranoid and untrusting person you might ever meet. So if you're looking for a story where the mc swooshes in to save the day every single time, I'm sorry this is not your read.

"Hmm?" Stephanie raises her eyebrow as she sits on crossed legs questioning us. Her fierceness look was quite tempting. What the hell am I supposed to tell her? I'm also shocked as she is. I don't understand what happened earlier, everything's a mess. Stephanie turns her head and looks at me.
"I don't know either! When we enter the headquarters, Clark was inside on one of the rooms. As I went in, I noticed him standing as he was looking at something then the next thing I know he was running towards me yelling that there a bomb then... the bomb went off." I answer with an irritated look on my face.
Stephanie didn't expect what happened. She turns quiet after hearing my statement. I can totally tell she's surprised but she not showing it on her face. Clark was still lying on the bed, slightly being gloomy.
"So, how did you guys survived?"
"The bomb was not that big, it is strong but couldn't take to whole headquarters. When Clark run towards me luckily we hid on a something like a plank of wood but Clark fell on top of me then one part of the roof knock him down it pierce on the side of his stomach. Good thing I have gotten rid of it."
Stephanie nod on relief but something was quite bothering her.
"How did you know that there's a bomb planted there? You saw something am I right? Brother?" Stephanie looks at Clark in sharp eyes. Come to think of it he did say that there's a bomb before it went off! Just what did he saw earlier!? We both look at him in suspicion. Clark was still in his cold faced not getting bothered by it. God, I hate his face!
"It's about father..." Clark says as he sits upon the bed.
Stephanie both shocked by what he said. Wait? What? Father? Theirs? They're hiding something from me...! They never told me about their father? How is it related to this shit?
"Wait! What father!?" I yell at them confusingly.
"Shut up! I'll kill you if someone heard you!" Stephanie's deadly eyes glare at me. Those mad eyes are definitely telling me something is wrong. 
"Is it... Okay to tell William?" Stephanie asks Clark with hesitant.
Not okay... to... tell me...? W-what...? I'm so dang confused.
The rooms fell silent, no one was willing to talk and break the atmosphere. Stephanie looks away trying to avoid the situation while Clark was resting his eyes. Leaving me confused as hell, can't fit in on the conversation.
"The reason why we established the Dark knight is... we want to find out the real cause of our father's death." Clark says in his cold tone. Both of them somehow turn gloomy. They both suddenly feel down but the terrified look on their faces was still there. Their father? They... never told me that... I thought the only reason they built it is that they want to kill some assholes who are being too greedy and a threat to the underworld. Having that kind of reason is impossible... suddenly interfering on the underworld just to slay some asshole is not.... something that can be easily done. What they're really after is seeking their father's death truth. I grip tightly on my fist despise of not knowing the truth.
"So what really happened?" Stephanie stands up on her seat not being able to carry anymore longer while arm's crossed her piercing gaze facing Clark.
------Flashback------
----Clark's POV----
As I was sneaking on the enemy base actually it's not really their base, it's just like a house that just used I think for their meeting place, the hallway was unexpectedly empty. William was left behind taking care first of the mess earlier before coming along. The house was an antique design, it was quite spectacular for someone to use it as their so-called hideout. I was wandering my eyes around and I noticed something's not right. My men were behind me high on guard as they pointing their guns waiting for an ambush while I was there walking calm but my guard isn't off. Hmm... 
Suddenly an eye-catching room caught my attention. Its door was filled with attractive design, wavy curls covered the entire door as the light shines on it. Why do I feel like something besides this door? The urge to open this door inside me is eating me away. Ugh... Damn...
"I'm going in, others guard the door and the rest continue the search." They all nodded and move on their positions right away. The ones who will continue patrolling continue walking forward leaving the others who will stay behind me.
"Guard the door, I want to be alone." I was about to enter the door giving them cold shoulder they both hesitant to follow my orders.
"What?" I glare at them threatening them to stop their foolishness. This is irritating... They both head as soon as they saw my terrifying face. Those piercing glaze on my eyes making them no choice but to move on their positions. God...
As I enter the door, a dusty library surprised me. The bookshelves were all covered with spider webs, not just the books but the whole room was dusty. Does someone even clean this place? *cough cough.  I was looking around the room, all the books were just about economic and stuff, nothing important. I spotted a table in the room, it has a letter and a file. I got curious about whether this file is the one I've been looking for. Top secret? The file's name was quite alerting, as soon as I open the file the information in there got me shocked. It's like the feeling of finding out the truth all this time. A mix of excitement and fearful emotion lingering me down my spine of what kind of truth I'm about to see.
"Father's real Identity!?"

Old Plum nodded his head while forming a satisfied expression on his face after seeing his disciple's reaction.Then the old man said. "So, what do you plan now?"
Shin thought for a moment before replying. "Who will refuse to take such an amazing path, but walking on it is going to be hard."
Old Plum smirks and said. "Is it being a Practioner is always been like that?"
"Turning into a Unique Cultivator from being a Dual-Practioner?" muttered Shin to himself before looking to the old man and said. "So what will be my training plan now?"
"Wonderful!" exclaimed by Old Plum before saying. "We don't have a training plan for now because I need to discuss it with Old Fatty Benn."
"For now, you should continue your training regime while we are finalizing the details of your new training routine."
"At the same time, you should start creating your 'Unified Strengthening Technique'. And forget about the 'Qi Refinement Skills' that you have, and use these ones instead."
Then three Martial-Art manual suddenly appeared at Old Plum's left-hand before he throws it at Shin.
Shin catches the manuals with his left hand before reading it one by one. "Reinforce Iron Bones, Jade Dragon Scales, Thunder King's Constitution."
Shin knitted his brows before looking at Old Plum doubtfully. "You want me to learn these skills? But they don't seem to compliment the Yin-Yang Martial-Arts."
Old Plum looks at Shin as if he is looking to an idi*t and sneered. "Kid. Do you think that you know my self-created Martial-Arts better than me?"
Of course, Shin knows about that, but he still can't help himself to become doubtful. And Old Plum can't help himself but shake his head after seeing the expression on Shin's face.
Old Plum releases a helpless sigh before saying. "Hay~st. You still never change, Kid. Always been doubting everything that doesn't seem to coincides with your ideals unless it is proven."
"Tsk! Alright, This 'Qi Reinforcement Skills' are originally one. And it is one of my Masterpiece Martial-Art Skills. I divided it into three different parts so that it can be used in the lower realm since it was originally for 'Ascension Realm' experts."
Shin then nodded his head and said. "So you also made this 'Qi Reinforcement Skill' to complement your Yin-Yang Martial-Arts?"
Old Plum nodded his head reassuringly before saying. "Of course!"
Shin nodded his head once again before asking. "Then how do you call this 'Qi Reinforcement Skill'?"
Old Plum suddenly knitted his brows before replying with a little doubtful voice. "Sacred God Physique."
'I knew it!' shouted Shin inwardly and said. "You know, I'm starting to notice something, Old Geezer. Why are you only teaching me the other half of you real Yin-Yang Martial-Arts? I feel that you don't trust my ability at all."
The expression on the old man's face suddenly turned stiff after hearing that. Then he said stuffily. "W-What are you talking about?"
Shin clicked his tongue dissatisfaction and said. "Tsk! I'm not a complete idi*t, Old Geezer. I know that you are concerned about the seed inside my inner heart."
"But if you keep caging me for not letting me use the other style of your Martial-Art, then you are just limiting my growth."
"This Martial-Art is called 'Yin-Yang Arts'. And it is clearly stated in the first Chapter that for every 'Yin' there will always be a corresponding 'Yang', or vice versa as they need to be together to produce all that comes to be."
"Given that, I will never be able to showcase the true greatness of this Martial-Art if you are only going to teach me the half of it and keeping the other half."
'This rascal always has a silver tongue at convincing people.' Old Plum stared at his disciple with profound eyes and sighed helplessly. "Kid. I know that you want to get strong, but you are still not ready to learn the other style of the 'Yin-Yang Martial-Art'."
Shin looks at Old Plum with determined eyes and said. "And how can you be sure that I am still not prepared to learn the 'Black Dragon Style'? Is my progress with the 'White Tiger Style' not enough."
"Because you just undergo a Demonic Possession just recently." answered Old Plum almost instantly, and shutting up Shin's mouth.
Old Plum looks straight to Shin's eyes before continuing. "Do you know why my Martial-Art is quite special compared to the other Martial-Arts?"
"Because of its dual-styles?" said Shin with unsure tone.
Old Plum clicked his tongue before continuing. "Tsk! Some Martial-Arts also have dual-styles. There are even some that have multiple styles."
"What is special with my 'Yin-Yang Martial-Arts' is it can nurture two kinds of Internal Qi. The Sacred and Wicked Internal Qis." And while saying that, Old Plum produces a black and white Internal Qis with each of his hands.
Shin's eyes suddenly turned bright as he became amazed at what he saw.
Old Plum ignored Shin's reaction and continue. He raises his right-hand with white-colored Internal Qi while saying. "This is what I call the Sacred Internal Qi and symbolized Yang Energy. It exhibits light, heat, and dryness. It can also purify some evil energies."
After that, Old Plum lowered his right-hand while raising his left-hand that have black Internal Qi. "This one, on the other hand, is the Wicked Internal Qi and symbolized the Yin Energy. And it exhibits the darkness, cold, and wetness. And I called it wicked as it is a berserk type of energy."
"And as you can see the Sacred Internal Qi is pretty much stronger than the Wicked one. I purposely made it so that I can control the latter's berserk nature."
Then Old Plum pauses for a moment to combine each of his hands, making the two types of Internal Qi to fuse with each other. Then an alternating black and white Internal Qi was created.
After that, Old Plum continued. "Meanwhile, this Internal Qi is my 'Natural Force' and I called it the 'Yin-Yang Force'."
"Even if this Force is not as strong as the 'Emperor Yan Force', 'Ice Queen Force', and any other supreme Natural Forces, it can still contend on those Forces on an equal footing."
"And the element that is affiliated to my 'Yin-Yang Force' is can either be a fiery-hot flame or an ice-cold frost. It can also be both."
After the demonstration, Old Plum retrieve the Internal Qi and return it in his body before looking at Shin seriously and saying with a solemn tone. "But your case is pretty much different."
"You have a Seed of Hatred inside your inner heart, and what's worse, you already experience a Demonic Possession. So the moment you started practicing the 'Black Dragon Style' your body will produce a Demonic Qi instead of the Wicked Internal Qi."
"And since the Sacred Internal Qi and Demonic Qi are on equal ground, controlling them are going to become a troublesome matter. Especially that they are passively rejecting each other."
"So given those, it is too dangerous for you to practice the other style of the 'Yin-Yang Martial-Arts'. Or else, you might transform into a 'True Demon' if some accident happens. And at that time, no one can save you anymore."
Shin turned quiet after hearing that. And after a few minutes of silence, he releases a helpless sigh before saying. "Then it can't be helped."
Then Shin is about to stand up and plans to leave when Old Plum opens his mouth. "Two conditions."
Shin pauses his movements before looking at the old man. Then Old Plum continues. "I'm going to give two types of conditions. And if you manage to achieve either one of those two, then I'm going to teach you the other style."
Shin sits on the ground once again before waiting for Old Plum to continue.
Old Plum releases a helpless sigh before adding. "If you are able to hold yourself in 'White Dawn Boundary' state for an entire hour, then I'm going to teach you the 'Black Dragon Style."
"The other one is if you are able to show me that you are capable of wielding both Sacred Internal Qi and Demonic Qi simultaneously, and it has to be without any kind of problem."
Then Shin suddenly asks instinctively. "Then how about if I managed to achieve both?"
Old Plum was gotten off-guard by that sudden question. Then he smirks at Shin before saying with a sneering tone. "Then I'm also going to teach you the whole set of the 'Absolute Yin' and 'Extreme Yang' skills."
Shin clench his hand as he simultaneously got excited and motivated. After that, Old Plum gives a few more instructions for Shin on how he is going to change his usual training regime.
And there are other things that have been added on the list of what he is going to do. Now, he needs to read some records regarding the 'Worldly Origin' and 'Secret Arts'.
He doesn't need to combine his Internal Qi and Mental Energy immediately, or learn any kind of 'Secret Arts'. For now, the only he needs is to get some idea of how those two systems work.
Before Shin leaves, he suddenly remembered the original reason why he came here. Then he tells Old Plum what he has experienced earlier.

Shin suddenly raise his right-hand before catching the incoming leaves with it, instinctively.
"Oh~♪" Old Plum's eyes suddenly turned bright after seeing that. Then he flicked his right wrist once again. And this time, he sends five falling leaves.
Shin did the same thing and caught the five of them. After that, Old Plum continues while Shin keeps catching all of the leaves that ware sent towards him.
They continue to do that until Shin failed to catch all of the incoming leaves. And with that, Old Plum finally confirmed something. He looked at Shin and smilingly said. "You don't have to worry, Kid. What you have experienced is quite normal."
Shin knitted his brows before asking. "So what really happened?"
Old Plum smiled mysteriously while stroking his beard with his right hand. "It is an indication that your 'Immediate Response' talent is in the process of evolving."
At first, what he heard didn't immediately sink in on his head as he suddenly got off-guard. Then he suddenly became shocked, before being excited. "What!? Really!?"
Old Plum laughs at Shin's reaction before instructing his excited disciple. "And remember, immediately do your usual training regime if you experience something similar. It is to rip off the most benefits that you can get from it."
"But don't get your hope rises that high. It is just in the process of evloving, transfoming it into Ultra Instincts is still too far off."
After that, Shin stood up and thank the old man before walking back towards the Mansion.
Shin didn't immediately go back to the game when arrived at the Mansion. Instead, he walked straight to the study room, or to be more precise, it is the Springfield Family's library.
Even if the technology at this time is quite advanced, there are still some things that are better be written on a book and papers than being in the storage of personal Advance Watches or computers. And one of those are Secret Manuals that are containing some important information.
Shin walked around the library while looking for some books regarding 'Worldly Origin', 'Secret Arts', and 'Unified Strengthening'. And when he got all the manuals that he needs, he immediately walked out of the library with a pile of books.

Shin pause his steps and nodded his head at General Springfield while greeting the later. "Hi, Grandpa! Let me borrow these books for quite some time. I need to study them."

Among the rest of the enemies, there were two Pugilists, one Mage, and four Espers. Stephanie was one of the Espers!

In Wattpad, most books have character interpretations 'portrayed' mostly by celebrities. If you're an avid user, you know what I'm talking about. Since I'm so accustomed to Wattpad culture, I thought of doing the same here lol. I envision Blair to be played by Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf in season 1 and Whitney's character played by the TV show, Glee's Quinn Fabray also in season 1, but with a bob hairstyle like in the later seasons.

Horror flooded my brain as I felt my back touch the wall. Blair's eyes were dark and narrowed, our faces inches apart from each other. I was sure she could hear my ragged breaths as she inched closer, and I had to blink rapidly a couple times to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

"Montgomery," at first her tone was unnervingly sweet, the smile she wore making goosebumps arise, "While I adore the idea of having my mother off my back every once in awhile, the men in her life often concern me as they do affect mine as well."

She was so close to me, the sweet scent of her perfume entered my nostrils. I was beginning to get lightheaded by our close proximity, and for a second my eyes drooped down to her gloss coated lips.

"Why didn't you come forward and tell me about this sooner?" 

I tried to formulate an explanation in my mind, but when my mouth opened, only air had come out. There was no explanation, my choice to stay silent was purely based on my fear of her.

But how could I say that? I didn't know what to answer without offending her. One wrong term and it was a kiss goodbye to my life in Belleview. 

"I-I.." 

It felt like I had lost all circulation. My shallow breathing was the only sound I could hear to assure me that I was still conscious.

"You what? We're not leaving here until you give me a reasonable excuse." her icy, forest orbs bore deep into my warmer ones analyzing my features as if looking for any sign of dishonesty.

"I...I'm sorry..."

"That's not the answer that I'm looking for." she crossed her arms, keeping her gaze steady on me. 

I had never been on the receiving end of this side of her. This was the Blair that everyone feared. The cold, relentless queen that did anything and everything not to allow anyone disrupt her rule of order. If word got out that our parents were dating, I would be dragged into drama and business I never even knew existed. 

"I-I didn't know how you would react if I told you," I uttered, my attention casted on the floor, "I'm... so sorry that you had to find out like this. I won't do it again, I swear."

The room fell into silence. It was the second time I was trapped in a bathroom with Belleview's HBIC and I kept wondering how the hell did my life turn out this way. What did I do to deserve it?

Blair staying quiet made my anxiety grow by the second. It made me uncomfortable to know that she was thinking, probably thinking of the many ways she could ruin me.

A sigh filled the air, and what she said next made me relieved. "Very well then, you're dismissed." 

My eyes shot up at her to see a blank expression. There was no trace of anger, and that was the only importance I took note of that made my heart leap with gratitude to what god above.

"Thank you." I scurried out of there as fast as I could, not looking back. When I returned to our table, the food had arrived. However, there was something odd about the sudden change in the lightness of air around us.

I wanted to ask what was wrong, but I didn't want to get caught in the middle of the two adults. My father had a displeased look on his face while Stephanie ate her salad in silence.

"You're back," my dad acknowledged while I took my seat, "Long line?"

I sent him a tired smile, nodding, "Mhm."

He passed me the rest of his dish, which made my brows contour at the sight of some unknown meat. I looked up at him with confusion. 

"Pulpo a la gallega," he attempted to pronounce its name, which I found a bit hilarious in my opinion, "Octopus. It was Stephanie's suggestion."

"Oh."

Not wanting to be rude, I picked up my fork and took a bite of the foreign dish. The idea of eating octopus was odd, but I wasn't surprised since we were eating in a fancy restaurant.

"How is it?" Stephanie asked, dabbing her lips with a napkin. Behind her, I saw Blair approaching and I felt my cheeks flame in memory of what happened not long ago.

"It's good." I answered her, truthfully. Her lips curled and nodded, taking a sip of champagne from her glass.

"Seeing as the night is still young, how would you two like to visit the mansion and have some tea?" Stephanie's invitation made me nearly choke on the food I was chewing. 

Blair looked at her with knitted brows, "Isn't daddy coming home from his business trip in London?"

A small laugh came from Stephanie, and I quickly glanced at my dad who seemed to be alert at the mention of Blair's father. "Oh dear, he didn't tell you? He's rented a penthouse in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He no longer lives with us."

Blair's lips parted, a look of disbelief washing over her. For a moment, I pitied her. She seemed pretty upset at the news of her father but as if remembering our presence, she schooled her features and put on the Queen B demeanor I was familiar with.

"It's pretty late, Steph, and it is a school night. I don't think it's a good idea." my dad spoke for the both of us. 

"Nonsense, I'll have Byron take you home. It's just tea, William." she told him, her tone getting more demanding. He sighed in defeat.

Once the bill was paid by Stephanie, we took separate rides on the way there. Their mansion was further from ours, in the east side of Belleview, where the richer families lived. 

The gates were opened for us by two beefy men at the entrance. My dad looked tired and distressed, and I clasped a hand over his to ask if he was alright. He only gave me an assuring smile. 

The Westwood household was larger than I expected. It looked like a modernized mansion in the Hamptons, making my jaw drop for the second time that night. The exterior alone was already grand, and I had no doubt the inside of it would be even grander. 

The chauffeur, Byron, opened the door for us and led us inside. I was right. A large, what seemed like a Swarovski chandelier hung on the ceiling, lighting up the grand entryway. 

We were greeted by a large man named Terrance. "Ms. Harrington awaits your presence in the tea room. There, I shall escort you."

The sound of heels on mahogany echoed through the walls. Descending down the staircase was Blair, still in her evening dress. "You may escort only Mr. Montgomery, Terrance. Whitney here will accompany me to my room."

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach and I stared at her wide-eyed.

Another smile etched on Blair's face as the man nodded. "Thank you, Terrance and enjoy your tea, Mr. Montgomery." My heart skipped a beat when she held out a hand for me to take. 

I looked back at my father who smiled at me. Pure hesitation was written all over when I took her hand. Nervously, my feet begun making their way up the stairs. 

I couldn't help but ask, "Where are we going?"

"Weren't you paying attention? I told you, my chambers."

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" 

My heart stopped and my entire being froze upon hearing that. I recognized that voice. That was Blair Westwood's voice. 

"O-Oh my G- I am so s-sorry, Blair. I didn't mean to do that. I should've watched where I was going." I gulped the large lump that formed in the back of my throat and my eyes casted down on the floor. 

Silence filled the air between us, and as the minutes passed, the antsier I got to leave. I wanted to walk out, but I knew the second-in-command was hot on my trail. Wait. 

I was stuck in the bathroom with the HBIC of all people, while Delilah Santiago was also after me. Realization hitting, I looked up to meet the piercing green eyes of the she-devil herself.

Claire couldn't let herself think too negatively because once that started she was likely to spiral into a panic. She snapped out of it by smacking both of her cheeks and got back to work excavating the photo box. 
There wasn't much in it. There didn't seem to be any loose pictures from before Claire was born, which was strange. Her mother had obviously had a life before then; she wasn't born until Stephanie Conway was in her late twenties. 
She frowned and looked up at her companion. "Did you find any thick binder-like books up there? I want to see if my mom has anything from before I was born to give us a hint."
Six nodded and a minute later plopped three stacks of scrapbooks down in front of her. "Are these what you want?"
"Yeah, thanks!"
Claire opened each one to see if she could find any that started before she was born. There were about a dozen scrapbooks total and only three of them consisted of pictures of Claire's life. After a while her mom got a digital camera and didn't feel the need to scrapbook anymore. 
The remaining ten had to be from her life before! She pounced on what seemed to be the oldest one eagerly, hoping for answers. 
Having never known any of her mother's relatives, Claire was surprised to find that she had been the oldest of three children. She had a brother named Michael and a sister named Jennifer. 
Why had she never known this before? She had always been under the impression that her mother was an only child whose parents had died before she was born. Were her aunt and uncle still out there somewhere? What about her grandparents; were they actually alive? 
The scrapbooks depicted a perfectly normal and happy family of five. Why would her mother want to leave them behind? 
"What is it?" Six asked after a while. Claire realized she had been squinting suspiciously at the scrapbook for a while so he was probably wondering why. Oops. 
"I'm confused, that's all. I didn't know my mom had any relatives to speak of," she admitted. ���But it looks like everyone here is really close so I don't know why she wouldn't have ever talked about them or taken me to visit them…"
It really didn't make sense to her. Six didn't say anything in response—he was probably just as lost as she was since he didn't understand family dynamics at all—so Claire kept looking. 
She found something surprising as she went. Not once was the name Conway mentioned in any of these books. There were pages mentioning family reunions for the Hunt and Rosell families but that was it. 
It was difficult to tell which one was her grandfather's family as opposed to her grandmother's but it became clear to her that her mother's last name at birth was not Conway. Her first name was definitely Stephanie though; there were plenty of pictures labeled with that name. 
Claire frowned. Had her mother been married before she was born or did she change her last name to hide from someone? 
She had seen Stephanie Conway's driver's license before…and all of the mail that came to this house was addressed to that name or 'current occupant.' She must have changed it officially at some point. 
At this point she was starting to believe her mother truly was hiding from someone. But who? And why did they now want to kill her daughter? 
Her mom definitely hadn't been the victim of a hitman; she died of breast cancer after fighting it for nearly three years. Claire had been left alone all that time so why strike now? Had they known where she was all along or only found out recently? 
There were too many unanswerable questions. Her head hurt. 
She snapped the scrapbook she was looking at closed and sighed. The information she had been looking for about her father wasn't going to be so easy to find, though she did know more about her mother than she did before. 
When she finally remembered Six she noticed that he looked rather bored. She had promised to keep him entertained today after they found something and they had technically done that so she may as well keep the human weapon happy. 
"Come on," Claire said with her best attempt at a smile. "Let's go do something fun."
He was on his feet in a flash. "What are we going to do?"
"You'll see!"
Claire shut the door behind them, leaving the mess to be dealt with later. There was still more searching to do but that could happen once she had done her job entertaining Six. 
The one thing she had going for her right now was this bizarre person's curiosity. As long as she kept it satiated properly her safety should be ensured. She would do that at any cost. She was far too young to die now when she hadn't even properly lived yet!
There was still so much she wanted to do. Her mom wasn't really one for traveling so the farthest place from home she had ever gone was Cape Cod and that was still in Massachusetts. She couldn't die without even leaving the state she had been born in. 
Or without falling in love at least once. She was twenty-two and her entire adult life had been spent working to support herself and her cat. That couldn't be all there ever was; it was too pitiful!
Six's life was even more pitiful than hers, which was why he found her lifestyle interesting. Once she ran out of new things to show him he would probably leave. She did not want that to happen until the danger had passed so even if she had to twist herself into a pretzel coming up with new ways to entertain him she would do it. 
Maybe she should look for ideas on how to avoid boredom on Pinterest. That might make her job a little easier. 
Those lists were usually meant for children but Six essentially was a child in terms of normal human experiences, though his intelligence was more developed. If she did a little tweaking she should still be able to make most of those things work.

Your typical boy meets girl love story...if the boy was a highly trained super soldier and the girl was a target he was hired to kill. Six knew there was something different about Claire Conway the moment he laid eyes on her but he never would have guessed how she would turn his entire world upside down!

Bitch I thought. I felt my face getting red. "that nice of you to care. But unlike you my fat goes to my bum and breast not my face" I said smiling at her.

I heard Mary chocking on her drink when I said it and Jenna face got red. Bitch thought she could come for me. I think the fuck not. I smiled at her and ate my wings. 

I look at Xavier to see if he was angry I said his girlfriend had a fat face. But he face was hard like all ways.

It was soon forgotten about and they started talking about the big football game that was next week. I was surprised how much they took it seriously. Saying they are going smoke the other teams ass which I figured they meant win. 

"Dude you getting the alcohol for this Friday" Ashton asked Xavier. Who nodded. Alcohol, wasn't that illegal I thought. 

"What's this Friday" I asked Josh quietly. 

" we're having a party" he said 

" yeah you should come" mary said hearing our conversation. 

Me a party no way. "I don't go parties, besides my dad is back this weekend" I told her shaking my head. 

"No you have to come, it will be fun we can all get ready together" she said pointing to Stephanie as well. 

"Yeah come on, you have to come" Josh added. I looked at Mary and she had a sad face making me laugh. 

" okay but I won't stay for long and no alcohol for me" I said to them. 

"Don't worry I will personally get you your drink" Josh said making me blush. 

"We are so gonna party" Mary said happily. 

"Ooo you should get ready at mine" I said to them "and Paul can drop off us" I was getting excited. I didn't think I will get excited over a party. 

"Yeah we can do that, will come after school on Friday" Stephanie said. 

They started talking about what they planned to wear. And I felt eye on me expecting it to be Xavier cause he was always staring like I stole his toy but it was Josh. He was just staring at me. 

"What do I have something on my face" I said touching myself. 

"No" he said laughing taking my hands away . His hands was bigger then mine. I looked down at our hands. 

I think I was staring for long cause I heard Mary clearing her throat making me blush. I took my hands away from his. 

"We're leaving"Xavier said randomly getting up and pulling Jenna. He didn't even say bye to his friends. That guy had issues.

"Vanessa do you need me to take you home" Mary asked me. 

"Yes thank you" I said. It was almost 7 and I didn't wanna disturb Paul. 

"Come on let's go" she said pulling me out the booth. " bye guys" I said to other table and the nodded at me. 

"Josh you going home" I asked him. "No I'm gonna chill with them for a bit, see you tomorrow though" he said moving to their booth. Sitting next to a blonde girl that I didn't know. I saw her put her hands on his lap and he smiled at her before I left. Boys are pigs. 


"I wouldn't be surprised if he takes her home" I heard Mary say. 

I was felt kinda berated. I don't know why. He spent all night talking to be but the minutes I was gone he moved to another girl. 

"Look Vanessa, those boys are disgusting horny teenage that will stick it in anything that moves" she said "so don't fall for any of them, they aren't worth it" 

"How about Xavier" I asked all of sudden. Why did I even say that. 

She stopped walking and looked me with a questioning look on her face.

"I mean he has been in a relationship for 2 year" I said saving myself. 

"Oh trust me he cheat on her, but she always forgives him" he said rolling her eyes "girls like that make me sick. Get in" she said opened the car doors. 

I didn't say much in the car. And Mary was singing to the music playing. I thought about Xavier. I wondered how many times he cheated on Jenna. For what I saw today. It looked like a one sided relationship. Jenna was the one putting an effort. But I couldn't judge when I haven't been in one. 

I felt the car stop and the music stopped. I looked out and saw my house. "Thank you" I said pulling her for a hug. "Welcome, see you tomorrow" she called out as I closed the door. 

Walking up to the gate and entering the pin. I had fun today. Made more friends than I thought I would. And I joined a cheerleader team. If someone told me this would be a few months ago I would have laughed in there face. 

I walked in saw most of the lights were off. I knew Greta was probably in her room. I sent her a text saying I was home so she wouldn't worry and call my dad. 

I made my way to my room and saw the boxes were still there. I forgot about them. Taking off my shoes I moved towards them. It was pictures of my mother and brother my makeup and some books.

It was most of my old books and paper I didn't need any more. I moved some of the boxes into the storage. And my room looked more clean. I put all my makeup and stuff in the drawers and my hair stuff in the bathroom. 

It was almost 9 by the time I was done. I should be in bed by 10 I didn't wanna wake up late tomorrow. I had a shower and changed into one of my brothers t shirt and climbing into bed. I set my alarm for 6 o'clock so I would have time to get dressed and eat breakfast. 

I watch some friends on my laptop. That was my show. I have watched over more than a hundred times. I could never get tired of watching it. I felt my self drifting off when Joey was trying to learn French.

I saw him sitting at the back in the dark class room. With the window light on his face. I could tell he was angry. "Come here" he said his voice calling me to him like a siren song. 

I felt my legs moving towards him before I could stop myself. He smiled as he saw me moving towards him. "Good girl" he said his voice vibrating through me, I almost moan. What the hell was wrong with me. 

I was standing in front of him now breathing hard. Not knowing what he wanted to do to me. He was playing with the ends of my skirt looking at pleased. 

"I always want you in a skirt" he said pushing it up making me gasp. He paused and looked up at me. He was waiting for my answer so I nodded at him. Too scared to speak.

The morning quickly came. I jumped out of bed and got dressed. I was to angry to actually clean myself. My hair was messy and I dressed roughly. I went downstairs. "hey Blaise, I made breakfast." Crystal said. "not hungry." I said. "oh, I made it for you so you can eat. You never had dinner last night." Crystal said looking sad. I felt bad. She piled up my plate for me. I walked over to her. "look I'm sorry." I said softly. "it's fine." she said. "clearly it's not fine. You want me to eat so I will! " I shouted. I picked up the plate and ate the food, even half of the plate. By then some people came in and looked at me. Why were they in my house.

The I threw the rest of the plate towards Crystal. It hit her in the head and smashed. Shards of the plate were on the floor. Crystal started crying. She ran upstairs almost tripping up. "nice one Blaise, you just upset your mate." Stephanie said, punching me in the arm. I grabbed her arm and bent it back. She screamed in pain. Looks like she had a broken arm now. I growled at her. Eventually I arrived at school. To my surprise no one was there, no students, teachers or even cars were parked. I saw someone come towards me. I got out of the car. The boy looked angry. The Moonstone Pack will hear about this." he said again. I've had enough of this. "Crystal is weak. She can't even defend herself. As her mate I always have to protect her. "she's not weak at all. She tried to save our father in a battle while everyone was fighting." he said. "oh good for her. Still she has no strength." I responded. 'oi your such an idiot, you hurt our mates feelings.' my wolf said in my head. I ingored him "stay away. I'm gonna follow you and pick her up from where ever she is." he said. Follow me?, you wish. I finally got to the entrance of where my pack was. The main village I guess. People saw my car and looked away. Ugh, why was I to be feared? I eventually got home to my house. I saw Stephanie talking with crustal outside, they seemed so happy chatting. Crystal was laughing. Stephanie had been healed. I parked the car and got out. Right now I hated everyone I don't know why. Crystal started crying again when she saw me. I walked over to her. Without thinking I slapped her across the face. She cried again. "Oi really, stop being so mean and heartless!" Stephanie shouted. "I'll do what I want, when I want." I responded folding my arm over my chest. 

"if your gonna hurt like this, you may as well show who you really are." she said. I didn't say anything. "got cha" Stephanie whispered. She said it loud enough for me to hear. That was it. I felt my eyes flash from one color to another. I could feel everything start to change. My veins were showing more than usual. I shifted. My clothes ripped again. "crystal go inside, I can take him." I heard Stephanie yell. She listened. I growled. Why me? Why was this happening? I can't control it.

"Blaise, this crazy. Just stop and shift back" Stephanie said. I just growled at her. There was no way I was gonna listen to her.

Stephanie's POV

Holy heck! I shouted in my head. Whatever this was, I had never seen him do this. This was all new. I tried to tell him to stop and shift back but he just growled at me. I was scared. I had to inform the guards at the entrance to keep the gate sealed shut so he can't escape. There's a wall around this pack, we are trapped here. I shifted into my small wolf. I hoped Blasie wouldn't try to crush me. His wolf was massive compared to mine. 'I'm going to see the Elders.' I mind linked him. 'fine go ahead, I'm not stopping you.' he mind linked back. I ran off. I wasn't really going to see the Elders. Yes this pack is the oldest pack and largest pack in the world, but we have the craziest Alpha.

I was almost at the main village when I saw someone I had never seen before. I shifted back. My clothes still on of course. For some reason my clothes only ended up with only one hole, I guess it depends on how big your wolf was. Gosh I've been reading to many of those books again. I walked over the girl. "are you okay? I've never seen you before." I said. "I guess no one notices me. I'm Sophia the Omega of this pack. Everyone here hates me." Sophia said. I never knew she was Omega. I'm going there to tell the warriors to shut the gate and secure the area completely." I said. "so, does that mean no one can go in or out" she asked. "exactly. I'm trying to stop our Alpha from hurting everyone." I said. "why, why you try to stop him?" she asked. I stopped and bent down so I was at her level. "Alpha Steele is my cousin. I know he's crazy but he hurt his mate." I said. "oh." was all she said.

Blaise was the most traditional man I'd ever met. He was literally 21 but he went to school because he could. "basically if we secure then pack territory then he can't escape, which means he can't hurt anyone other than his pack I guess." I said. I stood up and we kept walking. "the next thing to do is stay away from him." I said. "I know. The last time he saw anyone everyone ran away in fear. Everyone's afraid of him, our Alpha. I wonder what secret he's hiding?" she said questioning what she asked. "I know. And being there when I saw him hurt his mate made me angry. I tried to intervine but he just got angry and hurt me." I explained. Finally we got to the entrance. The walls were high so no one could see what we were upto. You could say that our pack was the odd one out.
