The book is an Epistolary novel where the protagonist writes his daily events into a letter amd sends it to an unknown individual. The individual was not revealed within the story. He writes about his high school crush, his childhood trauma and his first Relationship and how he made friends after his only friend died or commited suicide. It really gets exciting to get on this journey of this school boy which everybody does go through at some point of their lives.

"This is a very normal mental self-protection mechanism. When we experience grave harm, if someone helps us greatly, we'll be extremely thankful for that person, and we'll naturally think that that person is very safe. It's very simple for adults to handle such situations, but it's different for a child. The current problem stems from two points, one, Emma's less than 2 years old, and her actions are fully instinctive; two, the impact and harm she experienced are way beyond normal situations because not everyone witnesses their parents'... Death. This caused her to be irrationally reliant on Mr. Adrian, and her subconscious tells her that she's only safe when she's with him, so she can't accept being away from him!
"Of course, this can be treated. If she refuses to talk or make a sound as she did in the beginning, the extreme pressure that causes her to ignore everything other than the person she wants to hold on to will make it extremely difficult to treat her. Fortunately, Emma cried earlier, and vented half of the negative emotions that she accumulated from the incident, so she'll slowly recover after gradual counseling. It goes without saying that Mr. Adrian has to assist in this because her reliance on him is so strong that it can't go away in just a day or two. If Mr. Adrian doesn't have the time to do this, I can only give Emma these medicines."
That was what Dr. Shaun concluded about Emma's unusual behavior because she had been crying in Adrian's arms for a long time even though they tried to comfort her. After wailing for a long time, she was so tired that she even slept on his shoulder, which was why they had time to consult the doctor about her situation.
Needless to say, Adrian was not satisfied with the result. In a way, Dr. Shaun meant that he needed to stay by the little girl's side, but how would he have the time to? Putting aside the post-production work for 'The Shawshank Redemption', he needed to follow up on 'Terminator 2' that was about to be screened, as well as 'Jurassic Park' that was under preparations. He would not mind if he could bring Emma over to America, but would that be possible?
Unfortunately, upon seeing the old Watson couple's earnest looks, he found it hard to reject them. No matter what, their son and his wife indeed died because of him, although he was the only one who knew.
If Adrian was not aware of their existence, he would not have conversed with them, and would not be bothered at all. This was just like how he considered the single mother in Edinburgh, but neglected the many screenwriters in Hollywood. Humans were just contradicting beings.
After the final discussion, the old Watson couple decided to rent another apartment in London, and they invited Adrian to keep the little girl company for some time—since their son and his wife had just passed away, it was inappropriate to invite an outsider to their home—they would then arrange for someone from a related agency to take care of Emma.
During this period, Adrian would not have to bear any of the expenses. The Watson couple had quite some savings, and the London Bus Service Co. Ltd compensated them with a lump sum. A thorough investigation had been done on the event, and it was confirmed that the bus driver had a moderate heart attack that day. Luckily, there were not many passengers on the bus. That being said, there were a total of 4 fatalities including the Watson couple, 7 who were severely injured, and 11 who suffered minor injuries. For the capital of the "British Empire", this was considered a terrific traffic accident. As such, London Bus Service Co. Ltd would likely be doomed due to their carelessness in their employee's medical examination.
Other than that, Adrian could leave England anytime he wanted to. Nonetheless, since they needed to find an apartment, and Emma followed him closely all the time, he had to let her stay in his hotel room for the next few days.
This was not an easy thing to do, and he understood from the two days why little demons were the hardest to take care of.
"If you're done, can you put on your pants?" Adrian was quite irritated when he spoke, "Also, if you can, please stop pulling the corner of my shirt, I'm not going anywhere."
"I'm sorry," Emma, who wore her pajamas after getting down from the toilet seat, lowered her head as she responded.
Upon seeing her like that, Adrian felt troubled. As compared to the first day they returned from the hospital, she had been doing much better, and at least she was willing to talk—though she only spoke simple words, and was mostly at a daze. If she were to isolate herself again, it would be a huge problem.
It was not a groundless worry. In fact, on the day they returned to his hotel room, he refused to stay by Emma's side when she showered, thus she ended up curling her body on the ground and cried. Therefore, Adrian could only comply with her, but she still did not talk for two days. Apart from following him around everywhere, she also hugged his leg and leaned against him when he sat down.
"Alright, you've done everything, so wait on the bed. I'll be out very soon, so don't sit outside the bathroom as you did before, okay?" Adrian mentioned gently.
The little girl nodded. Although she looked stiff, she was still very adorable.
At the very least, she did not ask to stay by his side when he used the toilet or showered. Upon seeing her leave, Adrian sighed to himself, then quickly began showering. If he did not finish as fast as he could, that little fellow might knock on the door.
Once Adrian was done, he left the bathroom in his pajamas. Though Emma was already on the bed as she was instructed, she left the bedroom door wide open, and was looking in his direction with her big eyes.
"Okay, little fella, it's time to sleep." Adrian entered the bedroom, then took the picture album that was placed on the bedside table. "Today, I'll talk about… Tom Thumb… This isn't appropriate, I'll go with the Three Little Pigs."
Subsequently, the little girl shut her eyes and curled up in his arms. After adjusting the bedside lamp, Adrian began reading softly. Similar to the previous days, he read for about 10 minutes before the little girl fell asleep. He sighed a breath of relief, then turned off the lamp, but was not completely relaxed. This was because he knew that she would wake up after 10 minutes if he were to get off the bed now, and she would look for him anxiously.
'I wonder how she noticed? Does she have a sensor in her body?' Adrian wondered as he stared at the ceiling. 'Why did I agree to this? Shouldn't a doctor take care of her if she's mentally hurt? I have many things to do.'
The moment he thought about this, Claude's infuriating voice echoed in his head, and he was almost mad at him. Since he had to readjust his plans due to the incident, he naturally had to inform the others in America. Laverne did not react much and assisted Adrian very well according to the instructions given, whereas Claude was surprised and sorry about the accident, but he quickly laughed and mocked him after.
"Eddy, I really can't believe what I heard! My dearest, dearest, dearest best friend, Mr. Adrian Cowell, actually became a stay-at-home dad in London—alright, considering your pride and that little girl's age, I'll call you a male nanny, you're welcome. This is very interesting information, and it's enough to keep me happy until Christmas." When Claude laughed at him through the phone, Adrian was so sure that he would punch him in the face if they were actually talking in person.
After sighing again, Adrian looked at the little girl who was sleeping soundly on his chest. Though he could not see her expression, he could feel her chubby cheeks. 'Forget it, why should I regret it since I've already made my choice? In any case, arrangements are being done for other matters, so I just have to use my time wisely. Besides… Emma? Watson…'
In the beginning, Adrian did not notice this, and he only came to a sudden realization when he was reading the little girl a bedtime story two days ago. He was not entirely sure, and even though the spelling was right, there were many people with the same name, and he could not tell how she would look like in the future as she was still too young. Nevertheless, he made an affirmative judgment. 'I came to London because of the 'Harry Potter' series, and I somehow encountered this, so on what basis can I say that this little girl isn't her?'
'Alright, I should rest. Whether she is or not, it has nothing to do with the present. I have plenty of things to do tomorrow.'
The next morning, Adrian brought little Emma to the hospital, where Dr. Shaun did a few simple tests for her, asked about her recent condition, and reminded him to bring her for regular checkups. Later, he checked out from his hotel room, then picked up Madam Marsen who was hired to take care of Emma and headed to the new apartment.
Situated on Mauridi Street, the apartment was a few streets away from the little girl's original home. This was because the old Watson couple did not want her to recall the incident upon seeing the house. Madam Marsen was roughly 45 years old and she was a kind woman who was good at soothing children. She visited Emma when Adrian still stayed at the hotel, but unfortunately, the little girl neither rejected nor accepted her, and she would hide in his arms when the woman got too close with her.
The two of them had good impressions of each other, and especially when Madam Marsen was told about the whole incident, she respected Adrian even more. "There aren't many kind people like you who would do charity and help others selflessly, Mr. Adrian. I'm sure that the Watson couple will be able to rest in peace in Heaven."
"Thank you." Adrian did not comment on it. However, it was undeniable that it was the act of charity he did that gained the trust of the old Watson couple.
Since his daily life was not too affected, Adrian had to handle his work. He did not want the post-production team to come to London, because it would only be a waste of money and time. Furthermore, it would not do Emma any good if he were to bring her to the studio. Thankfully, there was something called a videophone.


In the ‘90s era, Adrian Cowell was just a rich young man living it up in Los Angeles who had spent years in indulgence and often caused trouble. Unable to allow his behavior to continue, his parents changed their will before their passing and he was no longer able to live as extravagantly as he did before. However, Adrian's fate took a turn one night while trying to fix his bedside lamp which led to Zhang Haoxuan, a man from the future who had time-traveled after being intoxicated, to possess his body.
Assuming his new identity as ‘Adrian’, he utilizes his absurd memory for films in his former life as Zhang Haoxuan, as well as Adrian’s wealth and connections, to replicate films that have been produced in the future — determined to dominate the Hollywood scene.

Chapter 12: Operation Holmes

Henry loved spies.

Ever since he was a little boy, he wanted to be a secret agent. He had Regina buy him walky talkies, a tuxedo, and other crap that he thought would make him a super spy one year for Christmas.

Operation Cobra probably started in part because of his James Bond fascination.

When Emma moved to town he couldn't be happier. She was a cop. She knew how to do operations. It made Henry feel a bit like Robin to her Batman—or Batgirl he guessed.

Though, Henry didn't wear tights.

And Emma didn't have a Batmobile.

But he enjoyed the fact that his birthmother fed into his spy fantasy for a bit. His mother, Regina, never did (save for the Christmas presents).

It wasn't that Regina discouraged his obsession with all things spy, but it wasn't like she encouraged it either. Or when she did play along, well, she just wasn't Emma.

That didn't mean that Emma made the better mother. He still considered for all intents and purposes that Regina was his mom. Yes, he knew she had done some awful things and that he by all intents and purposes her mom card should be revoke, but she had been the only mother he had for the past eleven years.

He really couldn't tell this to anyone though. Not even Emma, who probably would understand. She'd get too upset though. And Grandpa and Grandma Charming, well, they thought Regina was the devil.

Which while probably true, she was still his mother.

Henry sighed as he took out a notebook from his bag. It probably wasn't the best idea to take notes—real spies didn't do that—but this was Storybrooke. And besides, this was Operation Holmes and Sherlock Holmes took notes.

Well, one of the versions of him on TV did. Or maybe that was Watson.

Would Henry be more of a Sherlock or a Watson?

He'd use Watson for now, since he was the one taking notes. Besides, Emma was trained as a detective.

But back to the notes:

Operation Holmes: by Henry Mills (aka, code name Watson)

Target: Just Harry. Agent Holmes says he's a mysterious stranger in Storybrooke. According to Holmes, Just Harry is short, has curly hair, and looks like someone we know in town—not that observant, but she has a lot on her mind. Also, has noticeable limp. Was found walking near all those Victorian mansions—a.k.a. where people who didn't piss Mom (that much) live.

Goal: Find out who Just Harry is, so that Agent Holmes will stop compulsively eating all the Break and Bake cookies. Note, Holmes's ridiculous attempts at using Google and Wikipedia have been eliminated from the record since Watson does not wish to embarrass her.

Status: Unresolved.

Case Status Updates:

1) Watson and Homes went to the library. The librarian, Belle, seemed not that receptive in Watson's interest in The Hounds of Baskerville. It probably didn't help that Watson thought there were explosions in said novel and was told otherwise. Holmes, meanwhile, didn't find a single thing in past records of The Storybrooke Mirror.

2) Holmes asked Hook about having a kid. Hook was asking her out and stared at her butt. This did not go out well. Though, personally, Watson thinks that maybe Homes should give Hook a chance if purely for shallow reasons. He might be creepy, but the eyeliner is sort of hot and so are the leather pants. Then again, he is a villain.

3) Holmes and Watson are discussing whether to allow the town's villains (Watson's mother and Mr. Gold) in on this operation. They know everything, but is allowing them in really a good thing? Will they even help?
Strategies:

1) See if anyone's acting suspicious.

2) Look up who has a house in the fancy snotty neighborhood.

3)See if Just Harry pops up.

4) Ask him.

5) Order another cookie.

His list wasn't that great. It showed him just how pathetic his investigation with Emma was going, but it did help him get his priorities straight. Like, getting another cookie.

"You're going to ruin your dinner."

Henry inwardly groaned when he turned around to see his mother. Regina looked…weird.

Relaxed almost.

He hadn't seen her wear jeans since before he brought Emma to town.

He took a big bite of the cookie just to get a reaction.

Regina laughed. "The Charmings are going to love that."

"Hello, to you too, Mom."

Regina smiled. "Mind if I have a seat for a minute?"

He shrugged. He really didn't know if he wanted her to sit there or not. A part of him wanted her there. She was his mother after all and he missed her, but she was the Evil Queen.

Regina sighed. "How's everything going?"

"You haven't called." Henry said.

She hadn't. Not in the past three days. It was weird. Usually she called everyday.

Regina sighed. "Mayor stuff. You wouldn't believe how many problems a couple of drunk dwarves can cause."

Henry rolled his eyes. She had to be lying.

"I'm not lying." Regina said.

"I didn't say anything."

"You're rolling your eyes."

Henry sighed. "There's always been drunk dwarves in Storybrooke."

"True," Regina said. "So, what's with the notebook?"

"It's just a journal." Henry said. No reason to get his mom involved in Operation Holmes.

"A journal?" Regina asked.

Henry nodded. "It helps, you know. Writing down things."

"I thought things were getting better."

He sighed. In truth they were better. Now that the curse was broken, Henry felt like he could finally deal with the issue at hand—it helped that no one argued with him that they've been cursed and that he was just a crazy little kid when he said his mother was evil. That would probably hurt Regina's feelings though. So, Henry just shrugged and said. "It's different."

Regina nodded. "Very different. I miss you Henry."

She sounded like she meant it too. Truth be known, Henry kind of missed her too. While he was mad at her—she had cursed his grandparents and an entire town of people—he did miss coming home to one of her famous dinners. Regina knew how to cook, even if it did seem to always involve apples.

Regina could make cookies, Henry thought, with a grimace on his face as he thought about Emma's less than stellar cookies.

"What's wrong?" Regina said catching the not so happy look on his face.

"Nothing's wrong," Henry said.

"Really, Henry." Regina said. "I'm your mother. I know when you're upset."

He sighed. "I'm not upset, Mom."

She looked as if she was about to say something when Granny came over. Henry wondered to himself what the woman's real name was. Surely, she had to have a name besides Granny.

"Here's your cider." The woman barked at Regina

Regina nodded her head and muttered thanks.

"Meeting someone?" Henry asked.

"Just Sidney." Regina replied. "We're doing a new awareness campaign for Storybrooke."

Henry raised an eyebrow. "Over what? How to survive being cursed."

"I have to go," Regina said. "Don't spoil your dinner."

Henry just nodded taking a bite out of his cookie.

There was something odd about the whole visit. He couldn't place it though. And was still thinking about it when Emma came into the restaurant—well, when she got done dealing with the latest dwarf crisis when she came into the restaurant.

Emma shook her head when she saw the cookie. "I could kill for one of those."

No mention of dinner at all.

Henry smiled. "You'll have to order your own."

She shook her head. "No time. Mary Margret and David want us home for dinner in about thirty minutes. Hey, you probably shouldn't be eating that cookie now that I think about it."

Henry shook his head.

"Oh, yeah." Emma said remembering she ruined dessert for the week. "There's ice cream though."

"I'll have some later."

Emma shrugged. "I think I should be saying something about you having too much sugar."

"But you're not." Henry said.

"No." Emma said. "Because you're clearly upset about something else."

Henry sighed. "Mom…Regina was here."

Emma groaned. "How did she torment you this time?"

"She didn't torment me. She was just weird." Henry said, "She was eating dinner with Sidney."

"The reporter?" Emma said. "I thought he went to that place where unnecessary characters hide for a season and a half."

Henry rolled his eyes. "You meant left town."

"Yeah," Emma said. "I thought he left. Though, I guess that was sort of stupid since you can't leave Storybrooke. Well, not like a normal person."

Henry sighed. "Well, apparently they're doing some big mayoral project together. What if she's dating him, Emma? I'm sorry, but gross."

He had images of Regina and Sidney kissing in his head. Sidney trying to act like the dutiful stepdad. It wasn't exactly what Henry wanted to think about. Because Sidney was creepy, it sort of went with the former genie turned magic mirror territory.

Emma shook her head. "Sidney doesn't seem like Regina's type. I think you're fine, Henry."

"Something wasn't right with her." Henry said. "She seemed not so grumpy."

"Well, that is a miracle." Emma said.

"Now what's with the notebook?"

"It's for Operation Holmes." He said. Something then hit him. "Mom ordered cider!"

"What?" Emma sounded completely clueless. Maybe he should've labeled her as Agent Watson.

"Cider!" Henry said, "Just Harry was trying to order cider, remember? What if Mom's meeting Just Harry?"

"Henry." Emma said clearly thinking he was over reacting.

"Emma, it makes sense!" Henry said clearly excited. "If we follow Mom, I bet we'll find Just Harry."

Emma didn't look like she bought it. "It's quite a stretch. I still think if I Google the right thing—"

Henry shook his head. Google wasn't going to help. No matter what combination Emma typed in, she wasn't going to find that kid. He was sure there was some connection with Regina. And he was going to prove to her that she was right.

"I got to go." Henry said.

"Go?" Emma said. "I thought that we were going to go home. David said he was making ribs. I like ribs."

"It won't be long," Henry said. "I have to check out something."

Emma shook her head. "Can't it wait?"

"I just have to grab a book I left at the library. You can wait here."

"Are you sure?" Emma asked.

"Yeah," Henry said. "Get yourself a cookie?"

That worked. Emma liked cookies just about as much as he did.

He only now felt slightly bad about lying.

Henry sighed as he walked towards City Hall. All he was going to do was take a sneak peak in his mother's office. If she was telling the truth she was going to be there. Not a big deal. If she wasn't…well, then he was right.

But what would she want with Just Harry?

"Excuse me," Henry turned around startled as he looked to see an older looking woman smiling at him.

Okay, she wasn't that old. But she was definitely older than both of his moms. She wore her dark hair a little past her shoulders and was dressed in a dark pantsuit that resembled one of Regina's. The one thing that stood out about her were her shoes, bright red and pointy they matched the same shade of lipstick she used.

"Do you need any help?" Henry asked.

"Actually, I do." She said. "I wanted to meet my grandson."

"Grandson?" Henry said. "You mean Just Harry?"

"Just Harry? Is that a name?" The woman asked.

"Um, that's what we call him." Henry said. "I'm sure he has an actual name, but—"

The woman smiled as if whatever he said was cute. It wasn't. He was just babbling. "It's okay, Henry."

"You know my name?" He asked.

"Of course, I know the name of my own grandson." The woman said before giving him a big smile.

Grandma?

Operation Holmes was quickly forgotten.

"Wizard Seymour, please ask away."
Merlin pointed at Ernie and Watson who were standing behind him.
Both Ernie and Watson could sense the elemental fluctuations of an Eighth-level Spell Caster emanating from Wizard Seymour and immediately showed their respects by bowing to him. After all, this was the organization of their Master, Merlin, so they also dared not behave recklessly.
More importantly, there was not a single person here who was weaker than them. Everyone was a highly accomplished Seventh-level Wizard!
"You're the Spell Casters from Subzero Snowfield?"
Wizard Seymour narrowed his eyes as he assessed both Ernie and Watson. As he studied them with increasing care, he grew all the more astonished.
It was because both of them were actually Seventh-level Spell Casters! Merlin had somehow managed to take in two Seventh-level Spell Casters as his slaves and had even gotten them to sign the slave contract. It was simply too astonishing to fathom.
One should know that it was extremely difficult to persuade a Spell Caster in the southern Spell Caster world to sign a slave contract even if there was a massive disparity in power. Beginner Spell Casters were not an exception. They would rather choose to die than sign such an onerous slave contract.
Besides Ernie and Watson, there was also Puppet Number Three. This dark red puppet was completely motionless, but still, it had attracted a lot of attention from the Spell Casters.
They could not detect any trace of life on Puppet Number Three, so it meant that Puppet Number Three was not a living being. Some of the Spell Casters who were more well-informed gradually realized that Number Three was highly similar to the puppets described in the ancient books.
"It's a puppet. This is one of the puppets that can only appear in the golden era of Spell Casters! What sort of amazing encounters did Merlin experience on his trip?"
Some of the Spell Casters were vaguely intrigued about how Merlin managed to find a puppet as well as enslaved two Seventh-level Wizards. Merlin's recent trip outside of Dark Magic Region must have involved some strange encounters.
Previously, it was only Merlin himself that was powerful, but now, he also had two slaves and a mysterious puppet. Just like this, Merlin's accumulated power was enough to rival a powerful Spell Caster clan.
Upon seeing Merlin's entire force, the Spell Casters in the hall gained a deeper understanding of Merlin.
"These two Wizards, how should we address you?"
Wizard Seymour asked in a polite tone. After all, he was not their Master, and thus gave them the proper acknowledgment deserving of a Seventh-level Spell Caster.
"Wizard Seymour, you're being too gracious. My name's Ernie, and this is Wizard Watson. Whatever you need to ask us, please ask away!"
Ernie grinned and stole a quick look at Merlin. He noted that Merlin's face was indifferent and calm, so his Master probably did not mind him speaking up. Ernie let out a sigh of relief at the thought.
"All right, Wizard Ernie. The Spell Casters from Dark Magic Region have some questions about Subzero Snowfield. Is there any Great Wizard in Subzero Snowfield?"
This was the question that Wizard Seymour was most eager to inquire. For an ordinary Spell Caster, a Great Wizard was like an insurmountable mountain. Once a Great Wizard appeared in a place, his eminence would preside over the entire area. It would not only be difficult but also dangerous for outsiders to try to mingle into the community. 
The Dark Magic Region possessed a profound foundation and abundant resources. Should a Great Wizard suddenly came up with the thought of terrorizing it, they would posed not even the least bit of a threat to the wizard.
"Great Wizard? Although Subzero Snowfield is vast, we've never heard of any Great Wizard emerging."
Ernie shook his head. A harsh environment like Subzero Snowfield would not be appealing to any Great Wizard. Moreover, if someone had the ability to become a Great Wizard, he would have the world at his fingertips. He could go anywhere he liked. There was no pleasant environment that he could not reach.
Hearing the certainty in Wizard Ernie's tone, Wizard Seymour secretly heaved a breath of relief. As long as there was no Great Wizard around, then the move would be more likely to succeed.
After all, he believed that they would be able to defend against a Ninth-level Spell Caster with the Dark Magic Region's underlying foundation coupled with so many Eight- and Seventh-level Spell Casters and their unique abilities. Therefore, as long as there was no Great Wizard, the Dark Magic Region would be safe.
"What are the powerful factions in Subzero Snowfield?"
Wizard Seymour began inquiring about the details of Subzero Snowfield. If Dark Magic Region was to really enter Subzero Snowfield, they expected that there would be some resistance from the existing factions there.
Therefore, Wizard Seymour needed to fully understand the dynamics of the various factions in order to prepare themselves.
This time, Watson was the one who replied. "Wizard Seymour, Subzero Snowfield is a very chaotic place. There's no order or any form of stability. There only exist survival of the fittest and endless massacres. Due to the scarcity of resources, Subzero Snowfield has never managed to form a powerful faction. Everyone was fighting for their own survival. Even those powerful Ninth-level Spell Casters aren't interested in forming a faction."
"Huh? So what you're saying is that there's not even a single major faction in Subzero Snowfield now?"
Wizard Seymour's eyes glinted brilliantly when he heard that Subzero Snowfield did not have even a single faction. If Dark Magic Region entered Subzero Snowfield, wouldn't they become the strongest faction in Subzero Snowfield?
In fact, should they continued to grow, and Dark Magic Region managed to nurture a Ninth-level Spell Caster, they might even be able to completely dominate Subzero Snowfield.
No matter how desolate Subzero Snowfield was, it was still a vast area with a huge population of Spell Casters. If they managed to dominate the entire land, the reign might be more glorious than the most glorious era of Dark Magic Region.
It was not only Wizard Seymour that had arrived at this conclusion but the other Spell Casters as well. A look of fascination blossomed on their faces. It would be very beneficial for them if Dark Magic Region could be restored to its glorious era.
At this time, Merlin stood up and said in a low voice, "Everyone, now you probably understand why I suggested Subzero Snowfield. Relocating Dark Magic Region is akin to destroying our own roots. But if we do well in Subzero Snowfield, this could be our next big opportunity!"
Indeed, it was an invaluable opportunity. The feat of dominating such a vast area was not possible even for many large Spell Caster organizations.

Most of the locals informed her that taxis and buses seldom went there due to the rumors spread around town from an incident that occurred years ago, but a homeless person she inquired spoke of a carriage that came by at night that would take any curious soul to Innsmouth in a few hours' trip. Questioning the man where she would find the carriage, Amelia was pointed towards Tiller's Tavern, a bar bordering Miskatonic River. Seeing the rain starting to pour, she made haste, planning to stay inside until nightfall to get her ride.
Amelia arrived to a small, modest bar with dim, orange light flooding out from windows outside. Walking inside, a joyous atmosphere permeated from carefree patrons sharing a drink and a laugh with friends. Two men broke into song with flushed faces, mugs of beer in hand and soon fell face-first into the table, passed out. Moments like these coaxed a giggle from the detective. The front of the bar was a row of vacant stools, except for a woman sitting at the middle. Amelia sat next to her and she glanced at the grandfather clock standing behind the bar counter. Seeing that she had a few hours to waste, she called the bartender over.
"An iced tea please."
The woman tending to the bar nodded and prepared her drink, placing it on the table.
"Thank you," Amelia said, taking a sip of her cold beverage.
