The usually boisterous classroom in the academy abruptly fell into silence. Every potentate sat up straight as a uniformed mech pilot walked in front of the class. Joshua's eyes shone as he beheld the dashing man.

The man swept his view towards the boys and girls and mentally shook his head. What was the use of visiting these teenagers? They were at least five years away from being qualified to pilot mechs. Still, he had his orders.

"This is a time of war. The Vesia Kingdom has invaded us once again, and it is the duty of every citizen to repel them with the best of your ability. As mech cadets, your time has not yet come, but that is no excuse for you to slack off! The Mech Corps holds the frontlines so that kids like you can train in peace. Do not squander their sacrifice and continue to improve your skills. The Republic depends on you!"

Every boy and girl thrusted out their chest in pride. A veritable wave of enthusiasm passed over the cadets as they imagined wearing the mech pilot's uniform one day. Every mech regiment utilized a different uniform scheme, which led to a lot of variety in the Mech Corps. Joshua himself only recognized a couple of them, and the man's black-and-yellow uniform eluded his knowledge.

"As a potentate of the Republic, the most talented of you are treasured by us. Certain individuals here have distinguished themselves in their training. I am here to invite a number of you to accompany me back to Bentheim and enroll in one of their most prestigious academies on a fast-track training program. I won't lie, it will be hard, and the amount of drop-outs will be high. But if even one of you perseveres, you will have a bright future ahead of you in the Mech Corps!"

The majority of the cadets frowned or groaned. They knew their scores well enough to realize that they didn't qualify for such an extravagant program. Instead, they turned their attention to Joshua and a couple of other talented classmates. Out of all of them, their performance stood out the most.

"Cadets Joshua, Liss and Maye, you are deemed eligible to take up this opportunity. Are you willing to serve the Republic?"

"We are!"

The mech pilot smiled. "We will send out an information package to your parents. So long as your parents consent to the program, you'll be eligible to apply."

The rest of the classroom envied Joshua and the rest. None of them scored remarkably well in their training courses. In fact, their academy actually ranked at the bottom in the Republic. It couldn't be helped since Cloudy Curtain lacked a rich mech scene until recently.

The founding of the LMC and its subsequent rise changed all of that. Suddenly, their sleepy rural planet became a local hotbed for mechs as the LMC broke out of its shell with the release of the widely acclaimed Blackbeak model.

The mech manufacturer's ascension initiated a sea of change. Local politics had been thrown into a mess, while the influx of tax income invigorated public services. Culturally, the insular citizens of Cloudy Curtain finally opened up to the wider Republic.

Once stoked, the mech fever ran out of control. The enthusiastic younger generation flocked to the LMC like ducks and became the company's diehard fans.

The potentates among them formed a virtual fanclub called the LMC Association. They established a presence in every virtual game including Iron Spirit.

Joshua owed much of his recent success to the Association and the game. The only reason why he improved so quickly was that he wanted to pilot the LMC's higher starred virtual mechs.

Ves Larkinson published a handful of virtual mechs in his brief career. Over time, the members of the Association flocked to one dominant model in each tier. It became something of a badge of pride if the members could master every bestseller mech.

Currently, the list included the following mechs:

1-star: Fantasia 2R Seraphim - Aerial Marksman
2-star: TOC-1S Old Soul - Ambush Rifleman
3-star: HPL-100S Young Blood - Knight
4-star: FFL-25P DarkSpear - Assassin Mech
5-star: CA-1C2 Marc Antony Mark II - Hybrid Knight

The boisterous members of the Association generally reached a broad consensus on the first four mechs. Each of them represented the best mechs of their tier. Most of them consisted of Mr. Larkinson's latest virtual designs.

The only place the members couldn't agree on was the Marc Antony Mark II. As a Hybrid Knight, it was hard to pilot. Only the older members of the Association had reached the Gold League where they could unlock the ability to pilot a 5-star mech, and they all encountered significant difficulties trying to control the Mark II's many weapons.

Frankly speaking, the recently released Blackbeak virtual mech was much more suitable as a poster mech for the 5-star tier. As a pure knight mech, it lacked the complicated and uncoordinated weapon systems of the older design. While it didn't fare very well in small-scale duels, it still found a respectable place in Warntorn Instances and other larger game modes.

The only problem was the price. As a premium design, the Blackbeak sold for a ridiculous amount of gold or real credits. Only a handful of long-time players accumulated enough gold to exchange for the mech. The rest could only stare enviously.

In any case, Joshua had worked hard the last couple of years. Ever since he first came across Chasing Clouds' mechs, he had no idea that he was piloting a product of a homegrown hero. After Mr. Larkinson came into prominence, his drive to master Mr. Larkinson's mechs had grown into a deep-seethed obsession.

At his age, he should still be languishing in the upper Bronze League or the lower Silver League. Instead, he rocketed upwards until he finally broke through the Gold League.

His hard work paid off! The moment he promoted to the Gold League, he instantly spent the credits he'd been saving so far on a virtual copy of the DarkSpear mech, which had gained some notoriety in the Bentheim mech scene.

Joshua tasted bliss as he piloted the assassin mech. He utilized the skills he gained from mastering the Old Soul and achieved a decent amount of success with the assassin mech.

Still, it had been rough the first couple of months. His ranking fell as he struggled to adapt to the higher pace of the Gold League. His game account even demoted back to Silver League at some point, but the skills he learned from the high-pressure upper league allowed him to bounce back to Gold League in a brief amount of time.

His performance in game reflected back in his performance in the academy. Joshua sat at the top of his year in academy. Almost no one his age could match him in a duel.

To be honest, Joshua only accepted the invitation to attend an elite academy in Bentheim because he'd be able to promote his ranking faster.

"I'll be able to pilot Mr. Larkinson's 5-star mechs sooner if I go to Bentheim."

If the mech pilot who visited his class heard those words, he'd wring Joshua's neck. The Vesians have invaded the Republic's borders, and all you can think about is playing a game?!

Across Cloudy Curtain, Joshua consisted of a small number of mech cadets that recently showed a lot of promise. Each of them owed their improvement to the LMC in some way. The passion the mech company engendered among its fans had lit a fire inside their hearts


If the LMC initially stoked the fire, then Walter's Whalers fanned the flames.

Their participation and subsequent return from the Glowing Planet Campaign had captured the minds of the locals.

The proliferation of recordings from the Whalers and many other participants of the struggle to secure the Glowing Planet's resources had captured the minds of the entire Komodo Star Sector.

It sounded like an adventure drama. The Whalers arrived at the Glowing Planet and survived through several crises before they limped back home with a huge pot of gold. Billions of credits flowed into their account, and in the first couple of weeks they threw out party after party. The entire planet revelled in the success of the gang.

Only a handful stood still at the losses. Walter, Dietrich, Fadah and the other cadre quietly consoled the survivors and set aside two-hundred million credits for their pensions. It was the least they could do, and they didn't lack for money now in any case.

Once the partying had subsided, a contentious discussion ensued within the gang. Some of the older members wanted to retire with their riches, while others wanted to continue the good fight but with better mechs.

"Haven't we struggled for years in the mud for a big score like this?" An older member asked. "Look at how much we earned! We're richer than most companies right now! I bet we're worth even more than the LMC right now! The time to pilot mechs is over. If anything, we can hire others to pilot mechs in our stead!"

Even though a couple of members agreed with that position, Dietrich quickly thumped his fist on the conference table. "Is retiring all you can think about? Then go ahead and leave, but don't expect to get a large share of the prize. This money belongs to the Whalers! As far as I'm concerned, this is the time where our gang can flourish! With the Vesians knocking on our borders, the last thing we should do is to put down our mechs!"

The argument went back and forth for both sides. While many Whalers wanted to leave behind their old profession, others wanted to expand their organization and become more formidable in everyone's eyes. These hardcore members couldn't imagine a life of peace and leisure.

Once the two sides entered a deadlock, Walter finally intervened. "Walter's Whalers will continue on until we all drop dead or drop out. Those of you who wants to retire may do so. If you fought alongside me on the Glowing Planet, then I'll make sure you earned your fair share. As for the rest, don't expect us to be generous."

A substantial number of members who advocated for early retirement had in fact been left behind on Cloudy Curtain. They never shed their blood on behalf of the Whalers. Instead, they stared greedily at the tens of billions of credits the Whalers had earned from the sale of their mining haul to the Republic.

Walter's words instantly doused their greed. Most of the freeloaders subsequently quieted down and expressed no further interest in a retirement. Each of them could only expect to receive about fifty-thousand credits, which was a pittance.

In contrast, Walter treated those who experienced the tough campaign on the Glowing Planet and wanted to leave for one reason or another more sincerely. Though the Whalers still retained the lion's share of the pot, Walter issued a billion credits to the retirees, turning all of them into enviable pensioners.

Once everyone who still expressed a desire to leave had left, Walter addressed the loyalists who stuck by his organization.

"I won't lie to you. Much of the money we've made will be spent on mechs, ships and equipment. If you think you'll be able to drink the finest drinks and eat cloud rice every way then you're mistaken. We have a lifetime opportunity to become an elite outfit and I won't squander it away by wasting it on luxuries!"

No one outwardly objected to his decision, though plenty of members complained within their hearts at Walter's excessive frugality.

"In the coming months, we will build up our strength. Our first order of business is to fill up our roster and expand our scope. I hope to we can grow our numbers to the point where we can field a thousand mechs at a time."

"A thousand mechs!?"

That was half a regiment! So many mechs would turn the Whalers from a rural bully into a regional powerhouse. Though they'll never be able to surpass the Three Tyrants who ruled over Bentheim, such numbers gave them the qualification to contest over other minor star systems!

Each outfit that returned from the Glowing Planet intact experienced similar transformations. These lucky gangs and mercenary corps outpaced their rivals and competitors by far and began to recruit en masse.

The balance of power in the Bentheim region decisively shifted in their favor.

Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop that his father painstakingly built with a mountain of debt, Ves somehow needs to make ends meet with the bank breathing down his neck.

In the midst of his despair, he found salvation from another legacy his father had left.

6) elite or A class = those who have at least 3 quasi elite tier pokemon plus 1 elite tier pokemon.  generals of regional league armies .   elite 4 of region, head of various departments of pokemon league , gym leaders , evil organizations executives ,  head of various hidden clans , quasi master level breeder etc .the big shots.master of aura / force/element energy etc . pokemon type masters .Master of any attribute/types or equivalent . 400 to 500+ years of life expectancy in normal cases . most of them eventually makes it into the champion class.....

7) champion class or S/SS/SSS class = whose who have at least 1 champion class pokemon.  they are said to be mosters in human skin . due to extreme energy/aura etc reserve they devolop & control there are said to be human form king class pokemon.  and they age atleast 10× slower . like average lifespan of a champion class trainer is 500 to 1000+ years in normal cases . they are walking disasters . 1) F class  = poor people at the lowest level of society without any redeeming perks to them . lives on the mercy and donations of league , rich peoples etc .

3) D class  = normal low class office workers,  F or E class trainers  , basic level breeders etc . these are the basic units of league for proper governance. Includes low level grunts of various terrorist organizations. 

4) C class = middle level office workers,   low government officers , D and C class trainers . normal intermediate breeders . Normal martail artist with basic type powers  . They have some privileges like staying in pokemon centers free for 1 week each months . Includes team captains of various terrorist organizations.

Very few of such beings are all over the world.  but it is guaranteed each region's atleast have 1 of them . there average lifespan is above 1000 years . hell they even look like they were at the age when they reached this class . Even if they are criminals according to leagues , the league will simply ignore them if they dont cause ruckus or wreak havoc

Wang Tong couldn't care less. A good fight was a good fight regardless of which league the opponent belonged to. 
The most game changing difference between the TPA and the IPA wasn't the METAL suit but the players themselves. Unlike the players in the TPA, IPA players had never been mind-opened. Their in-game power depended solely on the amount of time they spent in the game.

Wang Tong opened his inbox and noticed a challenge from an IPA player named "Crazy Diamond." He was a level thirty-seven player which meant that his soul energy was equivalent to one hundred sols in real life.

The soul energy of the IPA players was fixed and did not fluctuate as it did in real life or in the TPA, which made the IPA players extremely deadly in prolonged fights against a TPA player.

Crazy Diamond was equipped with a tier three METAL as dictated by his level of thirty-seven, which required a tremendous amount of time and money to reach since the DREAM corp. discouraged power leveling for the sake of maximizing their profit.
 
Wang Tong accepted the challenge, knowing that the challenger would have to be the cream of the crop.

Three seconds later, the match was on.

By the time Wang Tong arrived at the arena, a few hundred audience members, most of them IPA players, were already there waiting impatiently. It had been a while since any TPA player accepted an IPA player's challenge. The previous matches had been so unbalanced that it was practically bullying. Perhaps that's what the few hundred IPA audience members came here for, to see another helpless rookie from the TPA be bullied.

Crazy Diamond spared Wang Tong a glance and asked, "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Of course."
"Even if I’m going to use my METAL suit? Don't complain later that I didn't warn you about it."
Wang Tong nodded with a smile. He was not here to win the battle, he was here for the experience, and it was the experience rather than scores that would make the best METAL fighter. The stronger the opponent, the more experience Wang Tong would get out of a fight and therefore the more meaningful the fight was. 

"METAL!" Crazy Diamond clasped his left arm with the right hand with a crisp movement, while rays of bright light tumbled out from his body, from which an elegant METAL suit emerged.

Crazy Diamond wore the "Wraith III," tier three ability-focused METAL suit. Its appearance had excited the IPA audience who let out a wave of sardonic jibes at Wang Tong. Disregarding the difference in soul energy, the ability of this METAL suit alone would be able to devastate most TPA players. 

Many TPA players had complained about the Wraith III's dirty, if not nasty, ability. They would rather fight with a combat-focused IPA player who was stronger, than a weaker IPA player wearing a Wraith III, if they would match with IPA players at all.

Hearing the audience's laughter, a smirk flashed on Crazy Diamond's face. 
He had sent out the challenge as a taunt and had never expected any TPA player to accept it. Despite the fact that his virtual soul energy was only sixty-five sols, the Wraith III METAL suit was all he needed to defeat most TPA players, and any seasoned TPA players should have known that. His opponent's acceptance of the challenge was a telltale sign of inexperience. Nevertheless, Crazy Diamond would not turn down a victory when it was already in his pocket.

"Can we start?" Wang Tong stretched his neck muscles. They had become stiff after days of inactivity while being buried in books. 

"Anytime, turn your METAL on."
"I will have it on when I need to." Wang Tong didn't want to waste precious time on explaining his lack of a METAL suit.

"The TPA players do look down their noses at us, fine, get ready!" Crazy Diamond had fought many pompous rookies in the TPA just like this one, and all of them had bit the dust in the end. Although IPA players were just ordinary people in real life, in the PA system, they could be as deadly as any TPA player, and they were even more deadly if their power was overlooked. 

A swift slash fell toward Wang Tong, carrying an icy chill with it. Instead of countering the attack, Wang Tong took a quick step back; first things first: he needed to warm up. 
Wang Tong's retreat had emboldened Crazy Diamond to usher a round of relentless hacks and slashes with greater speed and intensity, engulfing Wang Tong in a plethora of attacks. 
The quickly escalating battle kept the audience on the edge of their seats as they let out raucous shouts and cheers.

It seemed counter-intuitive to think that IPA players were stronger than TPA players when placed under the same rules, but it was not far from the truth. One of the IPA players’ advantages was their steady soul energy. It allowed them to partake in fights without taking a break to recuperate. A TPA player's soul power, on the other hand, would fall short after only one or two rounds of matches. In other words, neither victory nor defeat meant much to an IPA player; it was all just a game.
Because of this disadvantage, most TPA players avoided fighting with an IPA player. Despite the satisfaction a TPA player might get from a victory against all the odds, the cost of losing a battle was humiliation—a cost not everyone was willing to pay.

As Crazy Diamond's attack went on, Wang Tong registered that his attack was not as haphazard as one might expect from a recreational player. Instead, it was rather structured and well planned. He was able to read Wang Tong's moves fairly accurately and respond with precise positioning.
Although Crazy Diamond's moves weren't perfect, Wang Tong reckoned that they were the results of countless hours of training. 

Crazy Diamond, on the other hand, had felt increasingly puzzled as all attacks so far had been evaded; yet, Wang Tong's footwork had seemed rather ordinary.
Even if all of his strikes had missed the target, dragging out the fight would still slowly drain Wang Tong's soul energy, and allow Crazy Diamond to gain the upper hand.

Crazy Diamond's attack had been slowly picking up speed since it started and by then, it was falling toward Wang Tong in such a rapid and frenzied fashion that each strike seemed to have disconnected with the next as if it was a testament to his username: Crazy Diamond.
Wang Tong, on the other hand, retreated and countered whenever the opportunity presented itself. He reckoned that Crazy Diamond's confidence in his relentless attack was hinged on his METAL's defense capability. In a real fight, rarely could one see a TPA player attacked so recklessly since even the most calculating fighter would make mistakes that led to serious consequences. But the IPA players needed not to worry about consequences, which led Crazy Diamond to undermine prudence—a fatal error that would eventually be his downfall.

An opening appeared suddenly in the web of hack and slash as the strenuous weaver had finally dropped his thread. Wang Tong seized the opportunity and thrust a fist through the opening. 

"Konng..."

Despite Crazy Diamond's effort to pull himself back, he absorbed the full force of Wang Tong's punch. The punch sent him tumbling backward, he stumbled a few times on the way, but still, he was unharmed. Wang Tong felt a strange tingle; Crazy Diamond should have been severely injured by then.

Einherjar Wannabe's counter attack had silenced all kinds of noises in the arena. 
To untrained eyes, the victory had been in the bag for Crazy Diamond. Wang Tong had been pushed into a vulnerable position under a barrage of frenetic attacks, running around like a homeless dog. But it seemed true of what they say: "Every dog has its day."

Crazy Diamond steadied himself, and without a word, the outline of his figure suddenly blurred and then faded away into thin air like ink dissolved in water. 

This was the stealth ability of the Wraith III and what was dreaded by many TPA fighters. It was not merely a visual illusion, but the result of advanced technology. It absorbed waves of soul energies so that even a veteran who specialized in anti-stealth tactics would not sniff out a hint of the wearer's presence. This type of ability wasn't entirely made up for the game since it existed in real life, but it existed only on tier four METAL suits or above that were given to elite assassination units. 

Although it was a rare sight to behold, it wasn't anything unheard of in the IPA league.


Wang Tong couldn’t wait to live his college life - girls, parties, and the dorm life - everything he had ever dreamed of. But, instead of a letter of admission to the college, he had received a ticket to the planet Norton and a contract with the Confederation as a space settler. Soon after his arrival, the Zerg overran the planet and obliterated its defenses in a matter of moments. What awaited Tong on Norton was more than just an unbearable environment - its gravity alone was five-times stronger than earth - there were also swarms of bugs, constant hunger, thirst, and desolation...

'Is this a coincidence?'

He believed this at that point.

Until he was stopped in the same way.

It was to relieve pressure from Patu by switching from one top to two top - leading to a gang-like teamplay.  

If they kept letting possession get away, it was possible that the opposition would utilise the back of the field to score. However.

Patu suddenly made eye contact with Ho Yung, who was clearly watching the Corinthians change tactics.

Ho Yung was screaming. 

Casemiro, who calculated that he wouldn't be able to catch up, attempted a brave side tackle.

He managed to bump the ball but Patu found his balance and continued kicking and running.

As before, Patu struck out his foot having read into the goalkeeper's directions.

Patu was young but famed for having a foul mouth. He glared to the side.

The boy who crazily chased him down diagonally and blocked the shoot was none other than Ho Yung. 

'What a rat. When did he catch up to me?'

Ho Yung's super-save.

"Hey! Run!"

Ho Yung trapped the flying ball safely and shouted.

No matter how high the pass success rate is, or how many times a team gets to shoot, if they don't score, it means nothing.

Soccer is ultimately down to goals. 

This is why Sao Paulo FC, who needed a win, gave up the possession rate for a different tactic.
Namely, the strategy which 'gives up the flesh for the bones'.

In the midst of it, Ho Yung's sprint was beyond imagination.

That moment, Ho Yung spotted a dismal Patu. His footsteps naturally lead there.

It wasn't a planned action. Just instinct. 

He ran down, spreading his arms, shouting.

"Woaahhahahahhhhh!"

He would take on racism with skill.

Patu tried to swallow his anger as the game continued but a closed door never opens again. 

One sprint had mild success 30 minutes into the second half, but thanks to Casemiro pulling off a back tackle, it didn't lead to a goal.

The result was a red card.

It was an ungentlemanly act but a tactic was a tactic. 

The remaining time was a little bit of a concern but he exited, trusting his teammates. 

5 minutes until the game ends.

As expected, a vicious attack was led by the Corinthians. 

Sao Paulo FC's morale was touching the sky and did not let the Corinthians focus only on attacking. 

The ball distribution stemming from Ho Yung made the game a complete mud fight and there were fierce battles for possession everywhere. 

Both teams burned up all the energy they had, as deserving of the last match in the season. 

There was no side that wasn't desperate. 

But it was only natural for it to lean one way. 

The opportunity came from Sao Paulo FC's Ho Yung.

33 minutes into the second half.

A sneak pass that Ho Yung connected to the left created space to the back.

"Here! Again!"

He shouted and ran to receive the return pass.

There was no way back.

If he failed this attack, that was it.

The last chance. 

Ho Yung lifted his head. 
He spotted Douglas, who was weaving around the penalty box searching for an opportunity. 

Ho Yung lifted his foot at that moment.

He kicked long to the right and brought the tempo up instantly. 

The move that everyone falls for, even if they know it's coming. 

He made a perfect shooting angle, bending it to the right, 45 degrees.

Three defenders crowded him but the ball had already left Ho Yung's foot.

The mid-shoot, which had been curved with an instep, headed toward the opposite post.

The sound echoed around the field.

"Ah!"

Damn. 

The shot bounced off the goalpost and bounced out.

But it wasn't the end. 

"Eeeeek!"

The ball did not bounce out but landed in front of Douglas, who had been prowling the goal like a hyena.

As soon as the whistle sound pierced the field,  Ho Yung let out a scream. 

It would have been natural for him to collapse on the floor comatose but he felt an incredible surge of energy.

It may be only a youth competition, but it was the first winning trophy that would be listed in his official career. 

He jumped with ecstasy.

Ho Yung embraced his teammates and felt reality sink in as he held the gold plated trophy.

He may have only joined halfway in the season but it was true that he was crucial in this win. 

Who could have imagined a little boy from Asia could have achieved such a feat!

Only the golden ball remained. 

He was anxious but decided to enjoy this moment. 

The last moments of being eleven that he would never experience again. 


That afternoon, he let his family know of the good news and called Bum Gon Cha for the first time in a while.

He gave Ho Yung his congratulations, told him that there were some important things to discuss and arranged to meet in November when he returned to Korea.

There was a project he wanted to offer Ho Yung.

After agreeing, Ho Yung attended the party held to celebrate the U13 win.

The committee of Sao Paulo youth soccer organisation held a meeting in Victoria Hashipe.


















The topic of debate was the golden ball of the U13 league and the nomination of the best players in each position. 

The process of selection was as follows:

These scores were combined to select the award recipients. 

The most likely contestants were SC Corinthians' Alexandre Patu and Sao Paulo FC's Ho Yung Wu.

Patu's league score was 15 games, 10 wins, 2 ties, 3 losses, 19 goals and 8 assists.

Ho Yung had 10 games, 10 wins, 16 goals and 4 assists, putting Patu in the lead. However, Ho Yung took the win in the end.

It was normal for the golden ball recipient to come from the winning team and there were no incredible differences in their scores, so there was no need for further discussion. 

Although, it was abnormal for an Asian player to be given the golden ball, so there was an aspect of caution.

"Anyway, this year was a brilliant year."
" I agree. In one league, an Asian comes around and holds the winning trophy, in the second league, a young boy born in '92 scored 40 goals."

"A boy born in '92, do you mean Neymar? I heard that Santos FC already recruited him. Haha. I'm looking forward to the league 1 next year."

The members had a lot to talk about.

They checked the results one last time and the meeting drew to a close.

"Yes. This is satisfactory. Although Ho Yung isn't a Brazilian, he'll grow another level with this trophy. I'm sure this could evoke something in the other players too."

The results were announced in the ceremony at Sao Paulo city centre Estadio do Pacaembu the next day.

Best scorer was SC Corinthians' Alexandre Patu.

Best defender was Sao Paulo's Ho Yung.

Standing outside the testing department of the Special Power division first time in my life I felt hopeless.
While other sixteen-year-olds would spend their life having fun with their friends, maybe they would even have a girlfriend I spent it training and studying, Training, not just my body but my mind and my senses to near absolute perfection, no injury or emotion could distract me. I was always ready for battle. The reason for this strenuous training was my dream. A dream dreamt of millions of young people; I wanted to be a galactic warrior, representing humanity in the galaxy.

In the previous era actors, singers, athletes, politicians were the most recognizable people on Earth, but now everything changed, a great Galactic Warrior was more important than every one of those occupations and had been worshiped like gods.

They were famous, influential and essential, having humanities fate in their hands. Their era started when humanity started to develop supernatural powers, and humankind got noticed for the first time by alien forces. It came with a lot of benefits but also some significant problems. Earth has been reclassified as Class E planet, and that came with a lot of new technologies, diseases were wiped out, world hunger ended, pollution was nonexistent. But there was a catch Earth had to participate in the Galactic League, a survival league which tested a species right to exist. If you were a winner in the league, you received help if you were a loser you could get wiped out.

Not surprisingly humanity doesn't do very well but still, our Galactic Warriors try, and I wanted to work with them until my test scores have arrived. If a person only looked at the first half of my test results, they would be amazed by it. I don't want to brag, but my test scores were so high that they would be one of the top scores humanity have ever reached. The test measured fitness, brain activity and I were outstanding in any of those categories; my problem came with the second test, it estimated the supernatural abilities one possessed. And I only had one, an S class one but only one; It was powerful but useless in the league. 

One Earth there were heaven crossed geniuses, and I was one of them, while they could live their life out in luxury with the supernatural powers they can never be mighty or take part in the league. Why ? you ask.  The association was all about survival, and even though our forces were superior to most peoples even to most galactic heroes, our powers didn't help in survival. 

It was also recommended to possess a full set of powers, which were three, one for the body, one for the mind and one for the soul.
My power was I was able to curse people, in another era, I could wipe out armies with my ability but now that wars were of the past and the world was dependent on the galactic league it wasn't as useful.

Those with S class abilities would get money from the government to not use them, so I didn't have to worry about how I should make a living. I could live the rest of my life in luxury, but that wasn't enough for me. There must be a way to use my one ability and become a Galactic Warrior. 

 Society glorified the warriors and brainwashed their people to want to become a warrior because it was hazardous and most sane people wouldn't want to do it. I wasn't one of those who has been brainwashed I was perfectly aware of what they tried to do on me. Oh, yeah but what about humanity? There were multiple reasons why humans didn't care about it unless there was a significant reward, one it will take hundreds of years till the earth would be wiped out by the league, second, those with high-level powers could escape the destruction, and they could bring their families with them. So why would they fight if there are no proper benefits? Brainwashing was needed plus benefits, they were small kings of the earth, and most of the earth rules did not affect them. Even with these benefits many who had the potential didn't want to risk their lives in the league, and they lived their lives out in luxury provided by the state.
 
I didn't care very much about humanity or the benefits; I was perfectly capable of breaking the rules without getting caught and didn't want to be worshiped. My reason for wanting to become a warrior was traveling and challenging myself; it was hard to leave earth unless you had an enormous amount of money or you sold yourself to a foreign force. Real freedom came only to the Galactic Warriors any effect would be glad if a warrior would visit them if warrior leaves a woman with a child when he goes the planet that could help the gene pool of the earth or they can persuade to stay with various methods. The galactic league was a significant force, and unless you want to disappear no one would mess with them, so the persuasion has to be kept to legal methods. 

I wanted this freedom more than anything, and I would rather die than give up on it.  I started to formulate a dangerous plan.

Six months later.

My power has grown, and if they measured it right now it might have passed the S class, as I was researching curses I was focusing on curses that came with positive effects and also adverse effects, they were a higher level of evil than what people usually thought what curses were. By cursing a person with these type of curses the adverse impact of the curse is stronger than what you would get with just a simple harmful curse, they were also harder to cast than standard curses. My idea was that I could use them on my self and make them balance each other out, there were multiple problems with my theory.

Curses had some unintended consequences that were not considered harmful or positive effects, but if they were used together with other curses, they could mess with the negative or positive effects. 
First I wanted to pair up curses so that the negative parts would cancel each other out. For example, one curse would make your body temperature go to extreme degrees but would give you good muscle control another would lower your temperature to dangerous degrees but would give you high intelligence, if I paired them together I would get both positive effects without the adverse effects. But life would be too easy if I could have solved it that fast. It was hard to cast both curses on the same being and they had unintended neutral effects which working together would become a significant adverse effect. So I couldn't pair them, and my dream of possessing infinite power has been shattered, but I managed to set them up in a ring formation, in which the first and last curse is connected, and that made a perfect balance. But all of the curses had to be cast at the same time, and that made it almost impossible to practice. For the curses to work, you had to have some conduit or be extremely knowledgeable of your subject. To trigger a bunch of curses at the same time with conduits it was impossible.  To make it short, this technique could only cast on yourself and only once, you either survive and gain powers or die. 

If I would have told anybody about my plan they would call me crazy, my parent thinks I am traveling the world and not that I am on a suicide mission.  My idea was probably not new, but any smart person could see that it wasn't practical. The curse skill didn't appear very often, and it was perhaps the first time it was an S rank skill, a level which you would need to cast multiple curses at the same time. Even if you had the S rank curse, you would still need to make calculations, and you would realize how crazy it is to try it without experimenting and give up on it. Probably no one has gotten to this point, supernatural powers were somewhat related to their user's personality, and people with "curse" personality wouldn't want to fight in open battles, so they wouldn't even want to gain powers that would be useful in situations like that.


I know I was crazy and I was okay with it. While I couldn't experiment with multiple curses on myself, I could practice casting various curses, and I have gotten good at it. I started to recite a magic spell, which wasn't necessary but it made me more confident, and that was enough. " abracadabra... " you can't go wrong with the classics.

The curses have all hit me at the same time, and I lost consciousness for a second. When I came back to myself I realized that it worked, I could feel the new powers coursing through me. I cast six curses on myself, and that should have given me three new skills. One by one I was searching for them one of them was an elemental power that it came from my mind it was an ice power another power was the power of a berserker which the ice power made controllable and last one was the power of illusions.  Or it should have been the last but another power appeared, which I didn't plan, it was formless and dissipated anything that it touched and another one which was related to life. 

The happiness of succeeding disappeared fast, and If I could, I would have felt fear, slowly my consciousness has gone to sleep.

It was like I was sleepwalking I was on auto mode.
I deleted the email and walked to the testing center again.  Auto mode me didn't seem much different from my conscious self, so no one noticed that there was no light in my eyes. 

Testing wasn't perfect but usually, no significant mistakes happened, the worst I heard was when they mistakenly tested, and someone had A-level powers instead of B. 

Unconcious me was at the reception he could only say " Retest please "  I repeated till someone noticed it and talked to a supervisor.  The retest has shown that I possessed two extra powers berserk and ice both at A-level. The skills I gained after those hadn't been taught.

The supervisor was apologizing profoundly, but unconscious me wasn't upset and didn't even bother talking with him, he walked out and to the nearest Galactic Center. I was there thousands of times, but I could never step in, I knew the registration procedure by heart so even unconscious me could register. I didn't bother with the reception I just used one of the machines there.

After my registration was confirmed, I could go to one of the capsules and prepare for my first battle. The tablets or pods could make a simulation of Galactic fighting, but I didn't bother with the simulation or at least unconscious me didn't worry, if I had been conscious I wouldn't have been confident enough to start with the battle that would risk my life.

Simulation mode and real mode both had two major versions one is versus and the other is survival, at least my unconscious was sensible enough to choose survival mode.  In survival mode, the capsule will teleport you to a testing planet where the world would try to kill you, and you will have to survive for a time limit,  if at the end you have a half breath in you, you will pass the test.

My time limit was one hour, but for my unconscious self, it could have been a day or a week, he didn't know the difference his only instinct was to survive and be a galactic warrior. 

The teleport has brought me to a green planet full of trees, grass, and plants of which existence was unknown to me, a smart galactic warrior knew thousands of plants, animals on that alien planet most things could kill you, but you couldn't know everything. My unconscious or more accurately subconscious self didn't bother deciphering which plant could hurt, kill or poison him. Even I couldn't wholly know, but I was sure that everything could potentially kill me on this planet.

My subconscious self had a peculiarity usually people could use one or two powers at the same time, those who could only use one would die more frequently, but I could use all six of them at the same time. The berserk power created a blood red aura around me and made my physical strength go through the roof usually this would damage the body, but the rapid regeneration let me reach an even higher level of intensity. The ice power made and armor around me which like lense spread out the berserk aura making anybody hard to look at me. The illusion powers created another layer around that made berserk bloodlust even more real and made me see. I was seven meters tall if someone hasn't pissed himself after seeing a giant devil, the illusion powers made me a hard target to focus on. The last power helped me negate gravity so I could even float in the middle of the giant devil aura making me an even harder target. 

My subconscious for perfect survival optimized this configuration, it had limited range of attack, but the insane strength speed and my high regeneration plus the armor made my close combat power one of the highest on earth, and with my near perfect defense I could get close to anything.

I wasn't lucky with my first battle when the place I arrived was in the middle of a mouth of a giant fly eater which happily closed his mouth swallowing me and the ground around me whole. The aura and the illusion weren't effective against plant beings, but my ice armor was holding, then what I guess were acids in its stomach couldn't penetrate my shield, and it gave me enough time to claw myself out of his stomach with a ferocity of berserker. Wines and moving trees with exploding fruits were trying to kill me next. 

Most of the wines have missed, and the ones that came close have been ripped to shreds, the tree was firing exploding fruits my subcon didn't bother dodging some of the seeds of the exploding fruit managed to penetrate the ice armor, but the regeneration took care of them and didn't even slow me down. This reckless fighting style would have scared the toughest galactic warriors, and it did scare some of them. Usually, people didn't let other people spectate their battles, but I didn't care there were thousands of people watching through a live stream, and it grew by the second. After I punched through the exploding fruit tree, the spectators were in the hundreds of thousands, and it was still growing. Later reading about the Red Devils first battle always seems like a dream to me.

It was a long hour, watching my life in the hands of my subconscious. It was a dream that if it ever ends, it will end in death but things kept coming at me, and they died. When the last few minutes came, there wasn't anything near me that could have harmed me, and the berserk aura was so strong that you could look at the sun but not at me.

The spectators were at the millions, and it would have been more, but the F rank Galactic battle streams were limited to the planet the warrior was from. 

Only crazy people would choose their first fight to be an actual life or death battle, and they usually die, so the system gave me high scores.   " Congratulations You have become a level E Warrior, " said the voice of the system.

When humanity started to develop special powers it automatically became a part of the Galactic League. A league that can bring fortune or destruction to humanity.
Will the warrior called Red Devil save humanity or will he be the doom of humanity? Will he get the freedom he desires or slave to the system forever?

While Alex life was calm, the things outside the ranch wasn't such. The statement issued by the league had set a storm in the outside world.


This news was shown off to the genius of many regions and they all were told that to rise above others this Parameter must be reached.


While the elders of these geniuses explained the points regarding this future goal of theirs, some of the genius asked them about the skills and current power levels of their counterparts.

They wanted to know their rivals strength and hence the strength of the top ten strongest with their age and possible strength was sent to them by the league council as a way of increasing competition.

The top ten strongest under the age of fifteen were:

1) Alex Bart (Kanto): 11 years ;                pseudo king - electabuzz and Slowking; 
Elite - shiny pidgeot, Snorlax, Claydol.

2) Cynthia Shirona ( Sinnoh) : 11 years;
Psuedo king - Gabite 
Elite - Lucario, spiritomb

3) Steven Stone ( Hoenn) : 13 years;
Pseudo king - Metang 
Elites - lairon, lucario

4) Diantha ( Kalos) : 12 years;
Pseudo king - Gardevoir
Elites - sliggoo, gourgeist

5) Lance ( johto) : 13 years
Elites - Dragonair, Charmeleon, seadra

6) Wallace ( Hoenn) : 13 years;
Elites. - Milotic, whiscash, swampert

7) Lucian ( Sinnoh) : 13 years;
Elites - Bronzong, Mr. Mime, medicham

8) Caitlin ( Unova) : 12 years; 
Elite - gothitelle, reuniclus, musharna

9) Bruno ( johto) : 14 years;
Elite - Machoke, poliwrath, Onix

The ranking only showed the Pokemons they possess till the elite level as for lower ones were ignored. 

The rank from fifth onwards may have some changes if other Pokemons were to be included too but the top four had pseudo king and hence their position was stable.


The lower rankers felt pressure from the top while Alex just crushed them completely. 

He was the only one who two pseudo king and hence he was undisputed top ranker.

 For the sake of security of these trainers, only the top 100 people of this group were revealed this information. And it was only told to them. There wasn't any written printout of the ranking for security reasons. 


The only place where the ranking could be found was in the league's database and that too under intense protection. Although it didn't stop the spread of rank completely, due to the backwardness of the time in terms of communication it may take a tear before completely spreading and by that time the ranking may be outdated.


This ranking had two information revealed . Firstly, The strength of the  young generation. And secondly, The people of the top 10 were sure cut for the future position of elite four and hence one must work hard to seize these ranks.


The rank along with new parameters made the trainers work harder and gain strength. Their reaction was pretty calm but not all were calm and cool after reading the news. 

The position of the Elite Four of a region is yearned by every trainer regardless of the age but the age requirement that the current decision making body of the Pokemon league had set smashed the dreams of many people. 


People had selectively ignored the alternative that the league had granted to the people as it was too difficult, almost nigh impossible for most people. 


When this declaration was made public most of the people , especially adult who were overage or parents of some skilled trainers who had some chances of leading and achieving the goal were especially furious and tried to make the league change the parameter but none of them had any effect on their decision. 

They left processions and demonstration regarding this matter.  But the league made sure none of these are printed or shown to the world. Their entire actions were isolated under the joint efforts of the league. 


In this matter, all the top decision makers of all the regions were rigid and this had caused many trainers to be dissatisfied and angry with the league's current order. A new organization of these disgruntled trainers known as the anti league association was created in secret. 

The older trainers felt that the league was trying to stop new people from getting into the position of power and only their friends or people with whom they had relationship were allowed. And this secret organization was created by people with these views and never tried to achieve the result. 

This organization was established in every region and had many skilled trainers who were above the prescribed age and couldn't reach this parameter and hence lost their chances of the trial. They thought the path that league offered them was just a way to kill all those who opposed them and hence never regarded the second method. 




In a secret cave  , 

In the cover of the night, Dozens of trainers had arrived together and gathered in group. They all wore a mask to hide theory identity. 


The matter they had gathered here about is almost equivalent to treason. Abd hence it was better for them to hide their identity and face and prevent others from knowing about them.


A couple of minutes later a person rose from the crowd. Most of the people here wore a Pokemon mask or something similar but this person wore a demon mask having a red face and two horns on his forehead.

" Good evening to all my fellow compatriots. Today we have all gathered here because we all are oppressed by the Pokemon League." He said with venom in his voice.

" They take our chance of rise and obstructed our growth. How many of us here are advanced trainers but they did not give us a chance to show our skills. 

They send many of us common people out into the Badlands to be left to die. They say that it is a test but we all know what they really want is our death. With our death there will be less people opposing them and their rule will be stable. 

We must eradicate this decaying league and then create a new one which doesn't press down people and stop their rise.


Let us join hands and create a new world order while destroying the one which rules the human world for thousand of years." He shouted passionately


Attracted by his words the other members shouted out in unison," Eradicate the decayed order and create a new one." 


Seeing the members in the mood, the demon masked guy continued,"The next thing you need to do is get the ranking of the top trainers. These trainers are the ones which league regard as their successor. 

We all are still too weak to defeatthe league as we are now but if we take down the next generation, we will hurt them and they will be forced by us to negotiate about our demands. 


It may take a look at ng time, but we must not lose hope. This is the start of a revolution which will bring a storm to the entire world. So who is with me?" 
" I"

Multiple people shouted together.



The current goal of these people was the people in the top trainer ranking. And this put the life of the trainers in jeopardy once again. 


Similar meetings happened throughout the Pokemon world and at least 40 such organization were created as a way to counter the league and it's tyranny.


The members of the Anti- League association made all the meetings in secret to prevent the leak of news but it wasn't that much of a secret. 


League had been in existence for thousand of years and hence there are many spies around who keep on lookout for these unsavory agents. 

The leagues is especially strict with these traitor. It may take a moment for the real powerhouse to deal with them but the higher ups thought of something else. 


They want to deal with the rankers and every powerhouse reach his peak after bathing in the blood of his enemies and hence they became the whetstone for the future of the league.

New organization came into being in retaliation to the former orders. How will this affect Alex and how long can Alex hold on? Stay tuned..

Outside the game, many viewers were quite amused by what was shown inside the Mystical Sanctuary through the screen.
In the final half an hour, Dark Flame Steeds had advanced into the Mystical Sanctuary in pairs fearlessly. There were no other Champions except the Fallen Angels in the area; and if there were any surviving Champions, they were quickly killed by the four teams of Fallen Angels.
"These Fallen Angel maniacs."
Seeing the Angel Faction's League Leaders and Fallen Angels' members not sustaining even a scratch and were roaming around aimlessly, countless Demon Faction players had started to criticize the Fallen Angels. Since the Golden Battle Flag was held by Qin Ruo from the start, there were no other player who got to hold the Golden Battle Flag for any period of time. As more and more players were killed, the rankings on the Leaderboard were also changing rapidly.
Originally, there were about fifty men from the Demon Faction on the Leaderboard. They predicted that there should at least be six people entering the top ten spots.
Yet, they did not think that things would turn out so weirdly.
The Demon Faction only had four players who had the most scores and were able to kill, at best, three people in the Sanctuary.
Yet, the Fallen Angels, except for Qin Ruo whose kill count remained stagnant at one person, in the Sanctuary were able to score at least two kills and above. Every single one of them! Especially that Wandering Soul, who had already killed six people and risen up to be the top player.
"This is so hateful!"
Many Demon Faction players were so pissed. Only two out of the four players, who obtained three points, were able to enter the top ten rankings. However, they were, at this moment, killed and kicked out of the Mystical Sanctuary. Even though they too had the same score as the Fallen Angels, but because they had died early, their names were pushed to much lower ranks on the Leaderboard!
At this rate, the Demon Faction could only score one-fifth of the ten Demigod gears.
This was a great humiliation to the Demon Faction players.
Unfortunately for them, in Savior and Sinistress's opinion, this was merely the beginning of their nightmare.
Although the League Leaders in the Angel Faction were not clashing at all, the battle hadn't ended yet. The clock was still ticking and there were still twelve points left to score in the Mystical Sanctuary.
Twelve points.
Even if the twelve points were enough to change the rankings drastically, Qin Ruo wouldn't give anyone the chance to do so—he won't allow any Demon Faction player acquire those Demigod gears at all.

In the final half an hour, the battles in the Mystical Sanctuary had started to subside.
On the platform where the Golden Battle Flag was, six handsome Dark Flame Steeds, carrying their masters, lined up fifty watching at four players fifty meters away from them.
Majestic Hero, Scarlet Bauhinia, Netherclaw, and Black God.
The four biggest icons in the Angel Faction had now gathered. Looking at the Dark Flame Steed riders, they started to chat using creative means of Elemental Manipulation.
"Black God, your score is the lowest. How about this? You let me kill you this once. To compensate, I'll give you a legendary gear. What say you?" Black ink floated in the air above Scarlet Bauhinia, forming the words he wanted to convey.
Before he was able to complete his sentence, two huge words and several exclamation marks appeared from Black God's eyes!
"Piss off!!!!"
Black God, still as direct as ever, blurted out his feelings right away.
"Oh, c'mon. This is a good compromise… it'll benefit us both… just give me one more point and I'll rise up one rank into the top ten… I could get that Demigod gear from the two stupid Demon Faction players."
"Why don't you let me kill you then?"
"That'd work too! I'll let you kill me if you can give me one set of Tier 5 legendary gears!" Scarlet Bauhinia smiled as he replied confidently.
"Fuck."
Black God was so speechless; Scarlet Bauhinia knew he wouldn't agree to this deal.
If Black God were to kill him, he should at least give him two pieces of legendary gears. There were other Veteran Champions too who held only three points. If he were to step past his corpse and rise up to top ten, he couldn't have Black God go through that easily.
Besides, exchanging two pieces of legendary equipment with a piece of Demigod equipment, this wasn't really a bad deal at all.
More importantly, he still wasn't sure just how many Demigod gears Qin Ruo intended to acquire from this tournament.
After all, the Fallen Angels had now taken up most of the top ten spots on the Leaderboard, with seven points under each of their belts. If something were to go wrong, the other Champions who didn't get to rise up to be top ten could still suddenly clash with the remaining ones if he were to allow himself to be killed now. 
And when they were to clash now, that meant that every League Leader that was present would become rivals and go for another round of bloody scuffle.
Majestic Hero and Netherclaw probably were also worrying about the same thing too.
Thus, they too wouldn't agree to the idea of allowing Scarlet Bauhinia to sacrifice himself.
Then, Black God suddenly had an idea. In a flash, huge words appeared in front of his face.
"Qin Ruo!"
"Two Legendary Gears! Help me get three points!"
As Black God "said" this to Qin Ruo, Netherclaw, Majestic Hero, and Scarlet Bauhinia too turned and looked at the holder of the Golden Battle Flag—Qin Ruo. 
As League Leaders, they knew Black God too had pondered a lot before coming up with such a request.
Right now, there were billions and billions of players watching whatever that was happening here via live stream.
Even though he and Qin Ruo were good friends, asking for favors to acquire Demigod gears like this was surely not an honorable thing.
Besides, to make such request he must have great determination.
Demigod gears… if Qin Ruo were to decline his request, it would not just be Black God's reputation that would be ruined but his entire Black Jail League and Clan's reputation too.
Still, they understood too.
Now that the five big League Masters of the Angel Faction were here… and yet, Black God was the only one who couldn't get into the top ten. Missing out this Demigod equipment would badly affect him and his Black Jail League a great deal—other players might even think that they were just some low-class League.
The pressure that Black God had to endure was unimaginable.
Then, they all sighed in relief after seeing Qin Ruo's response. "I don't want legendary equipment. I just you to promise me something."
The words that were floating in the sky surprised all of them.
Not only them but also the players who were watching the live stream.
He agreed?
Qin Ruo had agreed Black God's request?
To them, the Demigod equipment's value was far more priceless than the two pieces of legendary equipment. Other than that, the honor and glory and the other prizes were quite undeniably valuable too.
If the Fallen Angels were to lose this one spot on the top ten, it would mean losing some glory of their League.
And yet, Qin Ruo agreed with this request!
It was so unreal!
However, they were also curious about the second part of Qin Ruo's sentence.
Promise?
What promise?

"The City Building System will be launching tomorrow. So, if things go well, we, the Fallen Angels, will head to the Underworld tomorrow and initiate our Project Pioneer! If we need help from you and Black Jail, I expect you to lend us a hand." 
Qin Ruo finally revealed what he needed from Black God.
Everyone was so surprised and impressed by this.
A son of a gun!
It was no wonder that this nameless Aquamancer could rise up quickly to become the fabled Winter Demon.
As everyone was focusing on the Grand Tournament, Qin Ruo had already set his eyes on the City Building and Currency Exchange System.
And they could also infer from his words that the Fallen Angels had seemingly resolved all the prerequisite issues in applying for city building.
If this was the case, trading a piece of Demigod equipment in exchange for Black Jail League's full support was quite a good deal.
Why? 
To establish a city in the Underworld was no child's play—it required not only a huge amount of manpower, money and logistics, they would need a powerful army that could help them fend off the pesky Undead Hordes.
Before they could finish the city, no one knew just how long a mere clan or league could hold onto their foothold in the Underworld. Other than that, no one knew what other problems might arise when they were constructing their city too.
If the Fallen Angels could enlist the help of another League by trading off a piece of Demigod equipment, that would indeed increase their chances of success in building their city.

"This is a great deal. Black God, go on. Say yes." Scarlet Bauhinia butted into their conversation.
"If you agree, you can not only get into top ten and acquire your Demigod equipment, you can also get to experience the process of building a city in the Underworld. If I were you, I'd say yes."
"If Brother Scarlet wants to, we too could make a deal…" Qin Ruo said.
"Really?"
Scarlet Bauhinia seemed interested.
"Sure, if you two would help me, I'm certain that our city could be constructed with ease."
Qin Ruo then "sold" the second seat in the top ten. This further impressed the countless players who were watching the live stream—they were so impressed by how generous and confident the Fallen Angels were. 
"Deal!"
Scarlet Bauhinia agreed. Of course, Black Rock also gave him his word.

"These bunch of motherfuckers!"
Looking at the twelve players trading their "rankings" under the nose of billions of spectators, the two Demon Faction players who were lucky enough to squeeze into the top ten were so pissed that they smashed their wine glasses. 
As three Fallen Angels forfeited their ranks and Black God and Scarlet Bauhinia's scores were raised, the duo had also received the system message. They were now ninth and tenth no more—their rankings had dropped to eleventh and twelfth, officially kissing the Demigod gears goodbye.

Other than the duo from the Demon Faction, there were also other people who could only watch these sliding by bitterly.
The developers too were speechless after watching this.
They didn't think that their carefully planned "Grand Tournament", the battle of the century, which was meant to celebrate the Currency Exchange System, would be manipulated and exploited by the players, right under their noses.
They sold out the top ten seats under everyone's nose, via live stream too at that.
And eventually, no one from the Demon Faction got to enter the top ten. The Angel Faction won a landslide victory in the Grand Tournament, with Fallen Angels taking six out of ten of the top ten spots. The other four spots were taken by four other League Leaders.
As the Grand Tournament ended, the never-seen-before Demigod gears were finally revealed!
