"Why are you here again?" she asked while munching the chips. It's been exactly two hours since Jungkook stayed in the house with her and she felt like she's been missing a lot.

Jungkook grinned and munched down the chips top while watching Ironman. He was cheering for Ironman while she was about to cry.

"I miss Jimin already," she suddenly blurted out. Jungkook, on the other hand felt bullets pierced his heart when his brain processed the information.

Suddenly, he felt his mood go down. He didn't have any guts to cheer or watch the movie anymore. His appetite for the chips vanished.

"I'm going to cook some foods," she excused herself. When she got to the kitchen, she immediately slapped her face. She felt the energy of the room drained and she knew why.

It was because of the thing she suddenly said that changed everything. How could she face him now? She blinked three times before jumping up and down three times. She was cursing herself for saying such a stupid remark.

"Do you have any cold drinks?" he suddenly asked. She shrieked before she got a grip on herself.

"shit, why do you have to scare me like that? Oh yeah, there's soft drinks on the second shelf. If you want ice pops or sweets, it's in the bottom shelf," she said while pouring the flour on the bowl. She cracked three eggs and did her thing while he was watching her back.

He was feeling awful about himself. Even after hearing 'I miss Jimin' from her, he couldn't help but to admire her. He was examining her back and his thoughts went overhead. He groaned and walked towards the refrigerator. His eyes glistened when he realized that this refrigerator is full of fluids and foods.

"I must say, you're fricking organized. Did you make those popsicles and juices? You're using washable plastic glasses,"

She laughed and uttered, "what can I do? I have to save the earth,"

It was almost 3 in the afternoon when she went to the living room and brought the pancakes. She took the empty bowls and trays and dropped them on the sink and started washing.

She was eager to go to upstairs and sneaked to their library, Mark's library. Although most of the books there were about laws, business ethics and educational resources, she made sure she stocked novels and other outstanding books.

"you make the most delicious pancakes in the world" he moaned out of delight while eating the incredible pancakes. She laughed and took some and went upstairs.

"where are you going? I'm all alone here,"

She raised her eyebrow. She wanted to say, "is that my problem?" but she knew better, "I'm going to Mark's mini library,"

He thought for a while before he carried the plate and walked ahead of her. She gasped and moved him aside, "excuse me mister, I know the way,"

He scanned the shelves and tried to find a book that's interesting. He was not a fan of reading but he has couple of books in his room.

"can you suggest a book to read?" he asked while looking at the educational books in front of him. He was, for sure, not going to read medical books.

She chuckled and gave it a thought. "I've read Me Before You and After You by Jojo Moyes. I literally put their genre on each shelves. Find anything that you like. There's romance, adventure, comedy, horror, crime and anything else," she said while grabbing her latest collection, Tracy Madison's books.

Her gaze was intense while she was debating on what to read first. Finally, she decided to read A Taste of Magic first. She sat down on the arm chair that looked like a bookshelf chair. Of course, this was the chair from her father and she truly treasured it.

Time passed by and it was already 6 in the evening. The sky had gone darker and the air was getting colder. She stood up and closed the windows and the curtains. She looked at Jungkook who was peacefully sleeping on the chair. After he finished reading one book, he had no energy to read another one.

He secretly took a book and covered his face and then off to sleep. It was pretty much obvious but she did nothing about it. She wouldn't force people to read books with her. As a matter of fact, she loved reading alone.

She decided to wake him up since it was late already. "Jungkook? It's already late," she softly said. Surprisingly, he woke up and looked at her in the eyes before blinking.

"what time is it?" he breathed out as he placed the books back to the shelves. She rubbed his eyes and yawned.

She chuckled and opened the door, waiting for him to go out. She switched off the light and closed the door behind her before she could answer him." It's already 6 in the evening. I can make a quick dinner. Mark will be back after an hour or so,"

She walked down the aisle and to the stairs, straight to the kitchen. Jungkook sat down on the chair beside the kitchen table and waited for her.

"is vegetable chicken salad fine for you?"

He nodded and said, "I'll eat whatever meal you cook," he wasn't the type of person to reject foods. He wasn't a picky eater. He was taught by his mom to accept the food served in front of him and finish the food on his plate, just like a good child.

After her father's tragic death, she distance herself from everyone, including her mom. She wasn't fully prepared for moving on from the event and now, her mother found another man who'll fulfill her after him.

Jungkook, a player, stone-hearted faced the same event. His mom died when he was little, leaving him and his six other brothers with their dad. He then knew that his father found another woman and would like to marry her which he was so furious about.

LUO YAN was sitting inside the library.  It was a huge library with dozens of shelves full of books.  One even needed to climb a ladder in order to get some of the books.  The books were separated between educational and literature.  The educational books were further separated from different arts and sciences.  While the literature were differentiated by genres.  
 When Luo Yan first entered this place, he was truly shocked and amazed.  He didn't think that a house could have a library this big.  According to his older brother, their father loved reading that's why their mother didn't hesitate to include a library this big when she was designing the house.  That only further proved just how much their parents loved each other.  
 After the family's conversation during breakfast, Luo Jin immediately announced that he would start teaching him today.  Now, Luo Yan was waiting for him in the library.  He wondered first why they couldn't just study in Luo Jin's room, and then he remembered that his brother's room was in the second floor.  Luo Jin was probably worried that he'd be tired if they studied there.  After all, the house's stairs was quite high and long.  With his current condition, he might stumble and fall if he wasn't careful enough.
 When Luo Yan realized that, he only smiled.  This younger brother of his was really just a big ball of fluff inside.   
 After a while, the door of the library opened and Luo Jin entered.  He was holding a stack of papers.  He walked towards Luo Yan and sat beside his chair.  He put the papers on the table in front of them, chose one and put it in front of Luo Yan.  He also opened a pencil case with a mechanical pen and eraser inside.
 "First, I want you to answer the questions in this paper.  It's okay if you don't know the answer.  Just leave it as blank and just answer what you can.  I will check your answers after," Luo Jin unceremoniously said.
 He wanted to know first the current level of understanding his second brother had.  If it stayed in the fourth grade level or if it regressed.  After finding the result, then he would coordinate with the tutors that his father hired.  He didn't want his brother to be called stupid by others.  He could but others couldn't.  He wanted his second brother to be the best in the eyes of others.  No one was allowed to insult him.
 "Okay, Ah Jin," Luo Yan said.
 He looked down at the paper in front of him and his face immediately turned black when he saw the questions on it.  It was a Math paper.  A first grade Math paper!  10+1... 8+5... 7+9...  The more he saw, the blacker his face became.  He literally could feel his brain hurting.  It's like this paper was physically attacking his IQ.
 He glanced sideways at Luo Jin.  He was looking at him, his eyes full of silent encouragement.  Luo Yan forced himself to calm down.  His brother was not deliberate.  Most probably, Luo Jin just wanted to test his level of understanding.  But still.
 In the end, he only sighed and answered all the question on the paper.
 "I'm done, Ah Jin," he said and pushed the paper to Luo Jin.
 Luo Jin took it and checked the answer.  He nodded in satisfaction when he saw that his second brother answered it all correctly.  "Very good.  This one's next."
 The next one was actually a second grade Math test paper!  Luo Yan still endured and tried his best not to gnash his teeth.  But when the next paper came and it was still a third grade Math test paper, he couldn't do it anymore.  Because at that point, not only was his brain hurting, even his stomach and liver were complaining to him.
 He breathed deeply before turning to Luo Jin, his face already the mask of innocence.  "Ah Jin, these questions are too easy.  Are there anything more difficult?  Can I pick the next test?"
 Before Luo Jin could answer, Luo Yan already picked the stack of papers in front of his brother.  He quickly looked through it and his face blackened again when he discovered that the highest level of questions in every subjects was in sixth grade.  He sighed and just picked a sixth grade Math test paper.  He answered it easily then gave it back to Luo Jin.
 Luo Jin was a little bit doubtful when he saw his brother picking a sixth grade Math test paper.  But when he checked the paper and found that his brother managed to answer everything correctly, he was amazed.  He suddenly remembered that before the accident, his brother had always been the top of his class.  Just like their older brother.  That's why Luo Jin also started to study hard.  Because he wanted to be like his brothers.
 Luo Jin was happy to know that not only his brother's intelligence did not regress, he was still as smart as before.  With the best tutors, his brother would definitely be able to catch up to high school level in no time.  Maybe he could even go to the same high school as him this coming new shool year.
 "Well, this is good.  At least with this, I could confidently tell Dad and Older Brother that you didn't turn stupid."
 Luo Yan almost resisted the urge to smack this brother.  He swore, when those tutors came, he would show them how smart he was.  At first, he wanted to act low-key and just showed gradual progress.  There's no need for him to work hard after all.  Even if he chose to be a salted fish all his life, this family would certainly support him.  But with this experience, he found out that he couldn't take being treated like his IQ was on the same level as that of a child.  Then it's better to be treated like a genius.
 He wouldn't allow his IQ to be attacked again.  Because seriously, it might really caused long-term damage to his brain.

As soon as Luo Yan graduated, he immediately got an offer from a prestigious gaming company. He thought all his hard work finally paid off. And he would finally reach the pinnacle of life. But then, on his first day of work, a potted plant fell on his head and he died.

Though games are games but many players want the games to be realistic because they want to able to do things, they can't do in reality.
That's what games are for.
They allow players to escape reality.
Though games are very good for entertainment but they are also criticized because players get addicted to them and they waste their time so Fu Yan was trying to create a game that would be widely different from all those other games available.
His main focus was to give freedom to players to allow them to do whatever they wanted to do in-game though there would be some restrictions but mostly they would have the freedom they wanted.
The second point was to make it a widely different game by giving it a genre of educational entertainment.
This was the other task that he gave Qing to solve.
The idea was to add puzzles in the game which after being solved would give players boast or something similar.
Fu Yan was not the first one to think about this idea. Many Top-level game companies also thought of this point but it was very hard to implement because when one person solve the puzzle, he would tell others and they would solve it by the same process and creativity would end there.
But Fu Yan had something that they did not have and that is "AI". 
Qing would be given the task to add puzzles and in-game educational entertainment.
She was currently gathering data from different sources.
The first option is to replace puzzles every day whether they were solved or not and the second one was to monitor the puzzles data. If one puzzle had been solved 5 times, it would become invalid and would be replaced.
Now here came the tricky part. If one wanted to replace puzzles in a game, they had to release patches for that players would become annoyed because they would want to enjoy the game not download updates after updates for it.
So Fu Yan was stuck at this point and this was also the main reason why his game was not finished yet.
He had already finished the game development book and was ready to return it to the library.
"I should ask Old Shun if there was any book related to this problem in the library that I can read with my level."
After thinking that he went to his bed and laid down.

You might have needed 40 to 50 credits to understand the knowledge in this book but with my gift, you won't be needing them."
After saying that he pointed his finger towards Fu Yan's head and he could feel a surge of knowledge entering his brain.
Fu Yan was confused with this behavior of Old Shun so he asked.
"Old why did you gave me a gift?"

"You will be the last librarian that I have to train and after this, I would be free from this duty so I want you to become a librarian fast."
Fu Yan was even more confused after hearing this.
"What do you mean by you would be free after training me."

"You see we guardian or you can call us workers are different from librarians. We enter into a contract with this library after we fail to return the books we borrow in time and don't have compensation to pay so we become workers for the library for a period of time to pay what we owe and my settlement was a huge because I lost the book that I borrowed from the library so I had to enter into a contract to work for the library for 3000 years or help train 10 librarians so though only 2134 years have passed, I have already trained 9 of them and you would be the last that I have to train. Though we lose our freedom but we have some privileges. We can access books in the library easily and improve our knowledge and we also have other perks but everything in this library follow the rule of equal exchange so you can understand what I want to say."

Mc POV : 

Its been few months since I have been reborn into  the Harry Potter universe and it's been  uncomfortable  but warming. Uncomfortable due to not bing able to move and not having a personal space , while warming because of the love and doting  I get from my family  as I was an orphan in my previous life.

My training has finally show results and now I am able to sense 20 m around me . My control of magic has also improved as I trained with  having my toys flying around .I also  tried to sense the magic of the surrounding  while successful ,it was painfull to say atleast as I fainted right after due to having my brain overload. I am now three months old and decided on give them hints ,so they could accept my maturing faster then the kids . 

I have already made my plans on what to do
1 )making my family no 1 economic force in the world
2) learning martial arts 
3) gathering information on the magical world 
4 ) becoming influencetial in magical world .
5) becoming the strongest in both magical and muggle world.

As I was thinking about the I need things to do  my mom  come to me with a bag , as I saw filled with toys  and said to me " My little ignis how are  you ? come see mom bought new toys !!"

I grinned and said my first word "Mom!!!" . to which her expression turned suprised then to excitement as she picked me up and said "My baby said his first word  and he said mom !!" .            and then started walking towards the living room where my father was saying "Dear see little Ignis  said his first word "  .  and then said  not bothering to wait for reply " And do you know what he said ?? he said mom !!!!"
 
 Dad stood up waking towards mom and me asking  me "ignis say it again ??" . with a joyful expression he had  .
I did as he asked saying "Mom".  Were my mother showed a triumphant smile seeing which he  showed a forced which did not last long as I said " Dad "  To which he happy if the joyfull  smile was any indication .

We see a young boy playing around the  house or as the other would see it .  The boy seem very fit for his age with cute looks which can make  older women mad to carry him . He is of course our OP  Mc, Ignis.

Nine months have passed since that day he said his first word and he has already successful done a lot of training his magic control had gone off the roof  with him able to control his magic . His  training in senses has also improved with him able to sense 3 km . He was also able to sense magic in the surrounding without fainting . He showed his family  knowing how to walk at the age of five months and with it also started building stamina  by basic running around the house . He had also shown his family that he can read and write with the "help" from his grandparents as they "thought " him how to read.

Today is  my first birthday and also my first year coming to Harry Potter universe .I am  excited as today I  can ask my parents so i can start going to family library to read books ,as I  was banned from going there by his mother caught me red handed reading high level books  saying that I am too young to read that kind of book.

 
 As I sense mother coming I stop running and sat in the sofa  just to see the door to the room open with my mother   coming in  and   sitting down saying  "  Ignis , today is your birthday  so we are celebrating tonight and invited some friends of ours !!"

I replied "ok mother " . 

As the day went by I was getting visible exited which my family shrugged off thinking it was due to my birthday and meeting new people.

At noon people came in with their children which I have no interest in taking to . My birthday proceeded like normal with  me blowing my candle and recieving presents .The others congratulated and introduced there childrens whome I politely greeted and then they started to leave as my party  came to an end  . 

As the people left after the party I sitting with my family as it was family tradition to give the last gift,  my mother asked " Son what do you want as a gift??"

I immediately replied with a grin " I want the permission to enter library and read books "
 My mother visible grew annoyed but still replied " ok but no more then 2 hours until you are older " 
 I replied " ok mother " as I had the perfect memory so it was no problem to me.
   I then went to my room where I immediately fall asleep due to being existed all day  but suddenly woke up in a strange dream ....

The next morning in the Arkhases british manor.

I'ts the day that they decided to go to the Diagon Alley to buy all the school supplies for the school year, it's a brightful day without cloud at sight and the temperature is quite hot and promise to be even hotter in the afternoon, a good day to doing shopping.

The countryside where the manor is located is near of London where the Diagon Alley is located, the entry of the Diagon Alley behind a pub called the "Leaky Cauldron", a popular wizarding pub, it was built by Daisy Dodderidge in the early 1500s, it serve as a gateway between the wizarding world and the muggle world since then. The Diagon Alley is widely known and not only in Britain but also in Europe even if almost every country has something like the Diagon Alley for buying wizarding furnitures. The Diagon Alley is one of the biggest wizrding shop place in the world and the biggest in Europe, just ahead the Place Cachée in Paris in France.

"Do we need to go to Gringotts" asked Alexandre to his parents.

"It's not necessary, we keep enough galleon with us to buy half of the Diagon Alley so we don't need to go to these ugly little creatures, they are so arrogant and only love gold, I'm not their biggest fan, but I still respect them and don't have racis thoughts them" answered Jonathan while smiling, then a slight frown came to cover his handsome visage when he said the last part.

"Great, I didn't heard a lot of good on them and I don't really want to go to this bank."

"Even if don't really like them, I still like and highly respect Filius Flitwick, he is half-goblin and he is a very strong wizard, probably one of the strongest of the world, he is a Charm master and won many times the Dueling Championship and is still called Duelling Champion, he will be your Charm teacher at Hogwarts and he is the head of Ravenclaw house, I'm sure you will like him, he is a formidable teacher and very tolerant person and very protective of his students, be nice with him, show some talent and maybe he will teach you the art of Duelling, if one day he proposes to you to learn it, accept immediately, no one can teach how duelling better than him." Said Jonathan with a serious tone in his voice where a deep admiration could be heard. 

"We will go for the Diagon Alley, we will apparate in front of the Leaky Cauldron, don't forget to cast an invisibility charm before, it will spare some muggles to wet themselves if they saw us appear in front of them from the thin air without any notice" said Marcus with a smile.

"Alexandre, take the hand of Jonathan, Aurore the one of your father and Yoruichi, take the mine" said Elena.

The three childrens, as said, took the hand of the three adults, ready to go make some shopping in the Diagon Alley.

"Invisibilis" said the three adults and they, along with the childrens became invisible like if nobody was here and they soon apparated from the manor to the Leaky Caudron.

It was said in the books and in the movies that apparating was very uncompfortable when you are new at this, this is very true, it's a very weird feeling, I don't know how describe it but it makes me sick. We apparated in front of the Leaky Cauldron, after verified that nobody was here, mom, dad and uncle uncasted the invisibility charm.

We soon entered in the pub and I must say that it's look like in the movies but way bigger, it's old, dusty, it's like a old tavern you would see in movies in medieval times. The pub was filled with a lot of wizards and witches and of course magic was everywhere, chairs were flying, glass washing themselves. Without losing any times, we walked towards the exit of the pub and soon reached a small, walled courtyard. We reached a brick wall, dad took his wand and tapped on some bricks with it, sonn the briks started to moove and the wall slowly disapeared to let us enter in the Diagon Alley.

I'm finaly in the Diagon Alley, on of the most famous place in the Harry Potter world, filled with as famous shops, it's a magnificent sight, it's a quite narrow paved street filled with shops on the right and on the left, it's also very crowded and we can only trample on the paved ground. It's probably with stars stars in the eyes that I, with my family, slowly make my way in this famous and magic street, I turn my head in every way to try to catch the sight of everything, almost affraid to miss some of this magnificent sight. Now I can said "I'm in the Harry Potter world", of course I already started to learn magic but we can't said that we are in the Harry Potter world before going in the Diagon Alley or Hogwarts, the two emblematic places are the unavoidable place of this world for every fans of the saga Harry Potter, and it's with joy, euphoria and delight that I slowly stepp on this mythic street, the Legendary Diagon Alley.

We started by buying quills and ink in the shop called "Amanuensis Quills" then we went in one of the most famous shop for every Harry Potter fans, the shop called "Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions" to buy our school uniforms, I also passed an order for a dress robe, exactly the same that Alone wears when he is possessed by Hades in Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas, my looks are extremely similars to him, except my eyes, they are way more beautiful and magic, it's not like I want to brag but I often find Yoruichi lost while staring at them, even Daphne is sometimes blushing when she looks at my eyes, it must be said that their colour is quite unnatural.

We were ready to go to the next shop when someone bumped into me, when I noticed who bumped into me, a slight smil appeared on my face.

After giving Mrs. Diamond a surprise that she will try her hardest to forget, Alistair notices the halo on Rogers chest burst into light fragments and fade away.

She quickly tries to hide her astonishment and says, "You did not have to subject yourself to that since I have already committed to terminating the oath. I hope you know that you will still have to attend classes even if you are sick." 

However, deep down she becomes impressed with his decision to follow through with his punishment even after being let off the hook.

Alistair gives her an enthusiastic smile and says, "Of course! This type of food is the best for me after all!" quickly turning his attention to Roger, who is packaging a box of beautifully cooked food from the table behind Mrs. Diamond, he says, "Now it's time to fulfill your oath with me!"

Without giving Mrs. Diamond anymore time to process the his actions or become upset even further, Alistair grabs Roger by the hand and pulls him out of the cafeteria, barely giving him enough time to stuff the food away into his clothing.

"W-Wait! Where are we going so suddenly?" Roger questions in a slight befuddled tone.

"We are going to the library to teach me how to read! You already agreed so you wouldn't back out now would you?" Alistair slows down in the hall outside of the cafeteria, beckoning for Roger to take the lead to the library.

"You mean right now? It's going to take a while to teach you man! I got to get the materials ready and a lesson plan from the teachers and everything." Roger tries to placate Alistair into letting him go so he can enjoy his food while it is still warm.

"No can do! I need to learn by today to understand what I need to do everyday and where to go! Unless you want to be with me all day, everyday!" Alistair smiles mischievously as he follows behind Roger.

"By today!? You are asking the impossible man! You are trying to learn how to read and write in a single day! You got to pace yourself! Besides, I haven't even eaten yet. Let's just hold off until tomorrow, okay?" Trying his best to reason with Alistair, Roger tries to explain the difficulty of the task while mindlessly walking towards library.

"Don't worry! I'm a fast learner and you can eat while you teach me! I'll even make you a deal, if you have to repeat anything even once for me, then we can stop, sound fair?" Alistair smiles brightly at Roger as the walk into a room filled with books and desks from wall to wall.

Roger turns his head from one side to the other, realizing that he just led Alistair right to the library due to them talking about it the entire time. He hangs his head in defeat as he looks at Alistair and weakly nods.

"Fine, then let's start with these." He walks over to a shelf filled with childrens books that explain lettering and pronunciation.

One hour later

Alistair has a plethora of books next to his side while a downcast Roger is sitting across from him eating his food at a very slow pace, seemingly unable to enjoy the taste of the amazing food.

Two hours later

Alistair begins going through the dictionary at a breakneck speed memorizing each words definition and pronunciation. Roger left due to being ignored by Alistair for long periods of time, feeling unneeded.

Three hours later

Alistair learns a better way to speed read through book with the spiral absorbing information as if a black hole, all he has to do is view the page for a brief second and the contents will be memorized.

Four hours later

Alistair begins to realize that the rate at which he is able to retain information is beginning to slow down. To the point where he will actually have to read each page individually. From this, he also feels the spiral in his mind slowing down to a crawl, seemingly satisfied.

Alistair lifts his head up from the books he had his nose buried in. Satisfied with the progress he made today, he decides to head back to his bedroom to sort through the information he was able to find out.

He leaves the library and heads towards his dorm. He enters his room and lays on the bed staring at the ceiling, thinking to himself.

"From what I can gather, I appear to have something very wrong with me. The only mentions in any of the books that I read, regarding my insane hunger are references to zombies, cannibals, and other beasts that roam the wilds."

He touches his abdomen, feeling the cold skin and a slight movement underneath in the flow of a spiral.

"I guess I need to keep my appetite a secret from the people around me. Luckily, I managed to get by on everyone assuming I have a special constitution. However, no constitutions affect anyone's diet. Even if one did though, it would not drive them to the point of insanity."

He moves his hand up to his neck, remembering the scene with the beast back in the wilds, and it's message, "You must grow stronger little one...You are going to be part of me eventually, after all." 

What stuck more on his mind however is the beast mentioned that he had been thrust into a "game". One where it is assumed that he will be the one to die. A cold chill runs down Alistair's back when he thinks of his fate if left up to the beast.

He shakes his head to snap himself out of that state of mind comes to the decision of, "I do not know why my memory is so good for a while, or why my I lose focus when I'm hungry. I'll need to learn more about what I am and grow stronger if I want to live without worrying about being prey to another."

He turns to the schedule he received from Professor Washington previously.

"It seems that I am not the only new student for tomorrow, meaning I will be in the same starting point as the others." He reads the introductory passage of his classes and sees the start date of the semester as tomorrow.

"The first class I have tomorrow will be...?" He turns the page to look at his classes.

It's my first novel and I am writing here to just get some feedback. Please don't hold back and give me everything you got. I'll take mindless rants and very constructive good criticism. I just appreciate the fact that you took the time to read and review if you did!

Further update. This novel is now on pause. I have been taking everything in from the experience of writing this novel, both positive and negative feedback. I will revisit this novel in the future after I get a more concise picture of what direction to take it in. In the meantime, I am going to be writing another novel on my own time and after I finish it, I will begin the daily upload process. After I finish, I will come back and revise this story on my own time and re-post it after fixing everything I want to fix.

Fifty years had passed since the dark days, the world has become stable. Thirty years ago the animals in dormancy began to wake up. People wrote historical records of all the past they could remember of; Human wars, description of eras, technology, past discoveries and common knowledge.

The population kept going down until now, schools were made to share the knowledge of the old generation.

Supernatural events kept happening in the world, natural disasters were locked in some zones of the world. Animals life cycle and reproductive rate became accelerated, each animal generation was stronger than the previous one.

Human population faced another setback after a third of the born childrens were under the dormancy status half of the day. All kind of solutions were tried for it, nothing worked. Most of the children who had it died while sleeping.

But then, the first child survived. After his fifteenth birthday there was no longer dormancy. 

He "awoke".

The moment he awoke faint traces of light could be seen from his skin, dissipating in the air as he recovered the sobriety. He lost the protection but gained life. In his eyes world became more colourful, he could see dim traces of light all around him and feel as if a marvelous substance where filling the entire space.

As he awoke it was like the first spark of a chain reaction, the humans who were under dormancy began to woke up. Not all of the people who fell asleep in the beginning were alive. Almost all of them died leaving behind no more than ashes. The same can be said for the animals.

The dormancy status will be described in the future as the way the living creatures who could produce resonance with the universe energy, named ether as a way to commemorate the human ancestors who once believed on it, try to adapt unconsciously their bodies so they could evolve into beings who are blessed by the ether and can get to control it.

Humans who began to woke up, discovered all their environment had changed. the unlucky ones which where left on the wild could be now under large water bodies, entangled on the roots of the new large trees, under the ground or deep into some beasts territories. The ones who had been carried along by their families where no more than a twentieth of them. And less luckiest than them where the ones who could awoke in the surface, near some resources to live. If the resources were enough, it would mean a big possibility that a human settlement could be near or not that far.

Thie history books named this epoch as the beginning of the apotheosis, the ascension of the peasants. The mortals were a step closer to divinity. The high beings were born again in this world.

The modern world suffered great changes made by the universe energy retraction. The door of spirituality and the struggle for power was left open by the possibility of "ascencion to godhood". Gods were no longer myths and legends, the ancient tools came back to life and the new gods are in need to reign.

On the second floor of a restaurant near Beihong District, a group of young men and girls were seated around two tables. There were more than ten of them.
"Have you heard? Her Majesty wants to set up an educational institution," a tall and strong sixteen-year-old young man said while drinking some wine.
"It is led by that Ren Baqian!" another young man added.
"Humph!"
It was a young girl that snorted. She was roughly seventeen years old and looked pretty and elegant. Following which, she slammed her wine cup on the table.
The rest looked at her and sniggered openly.
This girl was called Liu Yueyao, also known as Yao Zi. She was the girl that got the worst of it during the Great Hunt. She was mocked by Ren Baqian and was eventually chided by everyone.
Subsequently, she received ten strikes of whips and was grounded for a month.
Initially, she wanted to find an opportunity to seek revenge. However, after staying at home for a few days, she heard a news that caused her to be dumbstruck. That glib gigolo was actually chosen by Her Majesty to become her husband.
She could not understand why Her Majesty would fall for that lad.
Not only was Her Majesty the empress of Dayao, she was also the seventh most powerful expert in the world. Moreover, her looks were so beautiful that she could bewitch countless men. Liu Yueyao couldn't believe such a great beauty would choose that kind of man as her husband.
This news almost made her break everything in her room.
As time passed, her hatred for Ren Baqian did not decrease the slightest bit. Instead, she hated him even more now.
Every time she heard news of Ren Baqian, she would be annoyed.
However, the rest did not really care about how she felt. In any case, they were already talking about the educational institution.
"What does one learn in an educational institution?" There were a lot of people that wanted to know the answer to this question. After all, this was the first educational institution in Dayao.
"It should be the same as Great Xia's. Literature, mathematics, art of war, law, etc.!" someone said with confidence.
"Maybe it even teaches Classics too," someone joked.
"That might be possible," someone added.
Classics was the generic term for several doctrines that were passed down from ancient times. These doctrines were mainly focused on teaching one ethics and virtues. They also contained teachings on the relationships between human beings, the society and the nature.
Classics were viewed with great importance in the Yun Nation, the Chen Nation, and Great Xia. However, the aboriginals had all along disliked this field of study, let alone these sons and daughters of court officials.
In Dayao, violence was the solution to everything.
Even though there were laws in place, most people still preferred to use violence.
Everyone dropped this topic after having a short discussion about it. These youngsters spent most of their time practicing their martial arts and playing with their friends. Occasionally, they would meet up to discuss things that happened in Lan City. They at most read only a few books at home.
Actually, none of them really cared about the educational institution. To them, this was just a casual discussion.
Furthermore, they knew they wouldn't be selected to enter the institution.
They understood that only those gifted and extraordinary individuals would be selected.

Ren Baqian was sitting in Yangxin Palace Hall, holding a list of names that the empress had just given him. It contained the names of students that were submitted by the court officials.
"Shi Gan… is he the grandson of Great Elder?" Ren Baqian casually asked when he saw the first name.
"It's his youngest son," the empress replied plainly.
"Pfff! Great Elder is really young at heart!" Ren Baqian gasped in surprise.
Great Elder is roughly seventy to eighty years old, right? This list states that Shi Gan is only twelve years old, which means Great Elder had him him when he was roughly sixty to seventy years old! Respect!
Ren Baqian continued to read the list. Then, he saw a familiar name.
Tong Lan, ten years old.
"Huh? That girl is not gifted?" Ren Baqian had a shocked look on his face. This ten-year-old girl made him realize why the flowers were so rosy, how was she not gifted then?
"Tong Lan is rather gifted, at least she is more than her grandfather," the empress said.
"Didn't I request for ungifted good-for-nothings?" Ren Baqian pointed at the name list with doubt.
"Tong Zhenye said that they are still young and they can use the two years inside the institution to find their playmates," the empress said as she threw a grape into her mouth.
Ren Baqian was speechless. Are you treating this place as a kindergarten?
However, after thinking about it, Ren Baqian felt that it was a great chance for him to seek revenge on Tong Lan. After all, he had suffered so much in her hands.
A gentleman would take revenge on anyone, of any age.
The notion of letting off a pretty lolita had never existed in Ren Baqian's mind before.
One isn't a gentleman if he refuses to seek revenge when it's necessary.
A great man has to be ruthless.
I have to keep in mind these words of wisdom.
"Hehe…" Ren Baqian grinned. The empress cast a glance at him and rolled her eyes. She most probably knew what Ren Baqian was thinking.
However, Tong Lan was very shrewd as well.
She might be one that tormented Ren Baqian in the end.
Ren Baqian looked through every name on the list. There was a total of thirty-one students, more or less within his expectations.
He was the only teacher, and he could only teach so many students.
After thinking about it, Ren Baqian started speaking again, "Can we get a few students from the commoners' families? They can become teachers of the institution in the future."
After all, the students they had now were sons and daughters of court officials. In the future, they most likely would become court officials as well.
He couldn't possibly be teaching them forever, right?
"That's a good plan!" the empress nodded her head. "But have you come up with a name for the educational institution?"
"Blue Sky Academy!" Ren Baqian had a serious look on his face.
When the empress began to raise her eyebrows, he quickly corrected himself, "I'm just joking, it's New Eastern Academy."
Upon seeing an aura of death exuding from the empress's eyes, Ren Baqian corrected himself once more, "Actually, I'm joking again, let's call it Black Bamboo Academy. I came up with name because I saw a few black bamboos in the bamboo forest just now."
Upon hearing this name, the empress looked slightly satisfied. She continued eating her grapes and ignored Ren Baqian.
"There's still a month to go before the new year, right? Are there any activities for the new year? We will start the enrolment for the educational institution after new year then," Ren Baqian asked. He still did not know how Dayao celebrated the new year.
"There is lantern grabbing!" The empress replied and explained, "In the past, it was a competition among the members of a stronghold or between two strongholds. It's opened to youngsters below 20 years old, and the victor of the event will be rewarded. Those who have performed well will be able to gain the favor of the girls in the strongholds as well. If you want to participate in it, I will grant you a special permission to do so. If you perform well, I might even give you a reward." A smile appeared upon the empress's face when she mentioned that she was going to give Ren Baqian a reward.
"What are the rules?" Ren Baqian bolted upright upon hearing the empress's words.
"A frame will be set up and a lantern will be hung on top of the frame. Each group will have ten members, and the members can be chosen at will. Whoever gets possession of the lantern first will win." The empress's eyes were smiling.
"Don't tell me the participants are allowed to attack each other?" Ren Baqian laughed dryly.
"Of course they are allowed to do so, this is a great opportunity for everyone to showcase their skills," the empress replied with certainty.
"Forget it then." Ren Baqian immediately turned down the idea of participating in the event. He couldn't even defeat a ten-year-old lolita. He would surely die if he participated in the event.
"Don't you want to hear my reward for you first?" The empress's tone contained a rarely seen tinge of playfulness, causing Ren Baqian's heart to throb.
However, his brain was like a rattle drum that stopped rattling immediately. "A true man will never go back on his words."
Since the empress had put it this way, he knew it was definitely something not good. Only a fool would jump into such a huge pit.
"I can give you a kiss!" The empress's voice suddenly became as soft as a mosquito's. However, Ren Baqian could still hear it loud and clear.
Hearing these words, Ren Baqian raised his head abruptly and looked at the empress. At this moment, her face was slightly blushing. The shy look on her face made Ren Baqian feel as though there was a piledriver in his heart.
Ren Baqian put on a stern look on his face. "I feel that, death befalls us all but some die for a good cause while some die for a bad cause. For Your Majesty, I will die with no regrets."
Following which, he changed his tone and put on a helpless look on his face. "It's not that I'm not willing to participate in this contest. Actually, I have acrophobia and I don't dare climb too high up above the ground. Even though deep down I'm suffering, I have no choice but to give up on participating in this event."
The empress flicked her wrist and flung a plate of fruits at his head.


In a world where its inhabitants can destroy a city wall single-handedly, the empress has a kirin as her pet, and the imperial palace of Great Xia has a pool containing a dragon. There is also a Sword Mountain where spirit swords occasionally leave in search of a master .

Bootlicking the empress, Ren Baqian ascended to the apex of life.　　

The golden knight's head slightly jerked, and even though I could not see its eyes, I felt its gaze brushed past me as it made a thorough scan around its surroundings. After a moment, it repositioned its head to its original pose and spoke.

"Initiating techno protocol one, identifying host, scanning, scanning - " Said the golden knight, it spoke in an archaic and somewhat mechanical tone. "Scanning, scanning...."

As it was repeating the word 'Scanning', the knight's head once again moved slightly to scan its surrounding, but unlike before, it seems like it was now searching for something. The knight continued this for several seconds, and at last, with one final 'Scanning' it rapidly twisted its head to face in my direction.

"Scanning Complete! Host Identified!" It announced. "Name: Huang Fen... Gender: Male... Age: 16... Element: Light, Heal... Height: 182 cm... Weight: 63 kg... "

My eyes widen as I listen to the terrifyingly accurate and eerie analysis of myself. I glanced at the girl who was currently paying an unusual amount of attention to the golden knight, which was somewhat disturbing, to be honest. Seeing how attentive she was being to this 'topic', I decided not to bother her for now. My attention directed back to the golden knight, surprisingly, it continued to disclose more information about me. 

"Preferred Consumption: Spicy dishes... Preferred Color: Yellow... Hobby: Baking... Preferred Drinks... "

"Hey, hey..." I mumbled. "What's going on here?"

"I see, I see!" The girl contemplated with her right hand on her chin. "How interesting, a boy's preference... so this what guys are into! It's not that different from what us girl's do, to be honest... how educational!

"Hey!" I choked my words. "Stop eavesdropping on someone else privacy! Plus your logic is - !"

"Huh? I'm not eavesdropping~ " She smirked. "I'm currently engaging in an educational study course. And besides - shouldn't you not be talking? You'll make yourself faint at this rate and wouldn't it be a shame if you are not here to hear all of what the Knight has to say about you ~ ?"

I felt my face heating up when she mentioned the last sentence. Seeing my reaction, the girl winked at me for good measure causing my anger to pique, however, there was nothing I could do about it. I could only watch helplessly as the golden knight continued to spout random facts about me and the girl listening to it enthusiastically, much to my dismay. 

"Dislike: Being belittled... Unpreferred Consumption: Pineapple... Preferred Sex: Female... Fetish: Lolis and Sister Complex..."

"HEY!" From the top of my lungs, I yelled.

My face was now bright red, I was flustered beyond compare, I felt like crawling inside a deep dark hole and hide in there forever. If I was the only person listening to this, I wouldn't have minded it at all, but a second person was present here. Not only was this person a complete stranger to me, but she was also a female! How could I not be embarrassed to death right now?

"Ohh ~ ... So it's like that huh?" The girl grinned. "Brother Huang Fen is both a lolicon and a siscon, fuh... what an interesting combination~ "

"No - wait - you got it all wrong... I'm not - "

"Ah ~ don't worry, it's not like I'm going to spread this around the school saying: 'a potential lecherous pedophile is roaming around the school grounds' or anything, " She chuckled. "I mean, things like this we should just let the disciplinary committee to handle, it's not like I'm a part of it or anything~ "

As she says that, she flashed a gorgeous, almost innocent smile at me. Normally, a smile like that would cause any guy's heart to be captivated, however, all I saw now was the smile of a devil. Who would've thought my savior was such a sarcastic and terrifying person? If I've ever bumped into her again in the future, I'll have to make sure that I won't do anything rash to trigger this side of her personality. 

"Integration complete! Master acknowledged Techno Relic: Roland reverting back to standby mode." 

As the golden knight said that, its body starts to waver and becomes translucent. For the first time since its appearance, the knight finally showed signs of movement. It hovered towards my direction and paused just right above me, it then sank into me and we superimposed each other. I was startled by this but my body was too tired to move and so I have no other choice but to allow it to proceed. My body illuminated once again and like a flashbang, it engulfed the entire room, blinding both me and the girl. 

After the light faded, our visions returned and the golden knight was nowhere to be seen. The girl was stunned by this momentarily but she suddenly recalled of what had just happened and smiled understandingly. She walked over to me and leaned forward while extending her right arm in my direction. She offered her hand to me and gestured for me to get up. However, after everything that had just transpired today and the fatigue of exhaustion, my eyes starts to feel heavy and my breathing ragged. Before I could accept the girl's hand, I fell into a deep slumber.

"Hmm? Where am I? Wait this is... don't tell me that I'm - " 

As soon as I woke up, I found myself lying in a strange room. Each and every corner and edges of the room was decorated with tall standing shelves. The room was quite cramped as there was only enough walking space to barely fit an entire car inside. There were books littered everywhere on the floor, the shelves and even in the air! The appearance of the room was mundane, a single light source hanged high up on the ceiling which illuminated the entire room with a strange brown and yellowish light. The entirety of the room felt ancient and almost nostalgic, almost like an old abandoned library that had aged through time. 

The atmosphere felt strange, it felt mysterious and abstract, sort of like a dream. One would expect that such a confined room like this would normally be rid of any aspect of sound; an extremely tranquil environment. However, as time passes you would begin to hear a tune, a sweet morning melody that seems to melt any sorrow within a person's heart. The tune just served to make the already archaic room more ancient and nostalgic. In the beginning, the room seems like it was giving off a joyful reminiscing sensation in your heart, but as time passes you would start to feel a bitter-sweet melancholy inkling which would quickly progress into a very sentimental vibe. 

"This place seems familiar, it's like I got this feeling that I've been here before but I've never recalled coming to a place like this ever in my life..." I murmured.

I looked around myself.

"No - this place... I'm positive that... I've never been here at all not even once, yet... it feels more than just familiar - it's like the existence of this room had always been with me since forever!"

As I said that, I stumbled backward a little which cause my head to accidentally bumped into one of the floating books in the room. The book was surprisingly thick and heavy, which makes colliding with it extremely painful. 

*Thud*

"Ouch!" I cried.

Using my right hand, I gently rubbed the sore spot on the back of my head. As I remain rubbing my head, the book that I'd collided with vanished and reappeared in front of me, startling me.

"What the?" 

The book positioned itself straight up with its front cover facing me. I winced at the barely readable words on the book cover and was suddenly surprised by its content.

"Purify (Low-Tier): Cost 30 MP..."

After a few seconds, the book starts to open by itself and rapidly flipped through its pages until it reached about half-way of the book. In the pages were detailed contents of a spell known as 'Purify'.

"Casting time: 1 - 2 seconds... Mana Consumption: Very Low... Effect: Cures all low-tier ailments, with the exception of death..."

"Hold on a minute... Spellbooks, cost value on the books, a library... don't tell me that I'm - I'm... I'm right now in the - Great Library!?"
