The class slowly filled in as students took their seats. Jin was surprised to see a new teacher today, it was a tall man carrying a thin long book. He explained himself to be the teacher in charge of explaining the meridians and basics of soul force. 

Wei Jin was quite curious about how the people of this city compared to those of the ancient world. He had read the books about this yesterday and quite amazed at how the body of the people in this world is structured. It was very different from the basic human back on earth. It looked mostly the same at first glance but there were some subtle changes that made all the difference.

The lecture went on about explaining various basic concepts which he found out to be complete bullshit. 

("This is quite odd…") Jin thought to himself. 
("If everyone derives their knowledge from the same source then why is the information so corrupted? The easiest explanation would be the 'withering through the passage of time', but it simply isn't enough! 

I believe that noble families of the old world restricted their knowledge so that the common rabble won't get out of hand. After they died, everything was lost. People now can't even read those old books and have grown lazy enough to not even attempt to translate it. A single decade should be enough for even an ordinary person to translate the whole set of books perfectly. Not to mention these memory amped cultivators. After all, who would spend years studying a book when you could do more fun things like pillage someone else's work or find other sources. 

Not many people have the patience to sit and read. Besides if you just sit and read, you would start having problems feeding yourself. In this day and age, dying from hunger is a real issue. Sigh… this is why modern countries specifically establish research organizations and institutes.") 

The next teacher was actually another man with ridiculously muscular physic. His deep burrowed eyes scared the shit out of even the most uppity kid. 

He took everyone out to the courtyard and taught us how to punch and kick properly. The bare basics of martial arts. 

All in all, the day ended with everyone punching a 'cushioned' wooden post till exhaustion.

You know for a fact that the world isn't full of sunshine and rainbows and that reality is very cruel.
Children disrespecting parents, brothers backstabbing each other, murderers roaming free are common stories you hear every other day.
You sense that something deep is slowly dying.
You also sense that what is about to happen next is really important.
Thinking this, you go deeper until you reach the core of the planet.
The core is not what it used to look like.
It used to be filled with vitality and life, just like a newborn child.
Now its life is fading, just like an old man slowly dying on his deathbed.
Remember that planets have a lifespan of millions of years.
 
So even though the core is dying, and the planet is about to be destroyed, it can still take a few thousand years.
You sense that someone is speaking, but you know that there is nobody around you.
 
Then a thought enters your mind, 'Is it that ball of fire in front of me?'
And now, since you can't understand the speech of the Will of the Earth, let me translate it for you.
It says, "Gone are my good days when I used to run around the big ball (Sun) and have a lot of fun, now I am getting sick and weaker and cannot do that properly anymore."
Then there is silence for a while.

It sighs.

Let me give strength to one of them so that he can give me hope as well. Though he might not be able to fully cure me, at least he can delay my death. By that time, I can figure something out."
Hearing it think this way, giving all the help it can to one human being and being nonchalant about its death, you can understand that it is either foolish or old and smart enough to make this decision.
It goes on, "Since my death is approaching, I can only bestow a few things. Since there is nobody capable of opposing a law on my body, I will do my best and bestow a few laws. And then there is a special metal required to keep those laws.
Let's send some of the useful ones in the form of a meteor. The lucky monkey will have his intelligence boosted to an absurd degree and then he might actually qualify to use the laws through the special metal. Why don't I create a soul bond between the special metal and the Monkey? This way, even if he dies due to the laws, at least his soul will be safe."
Then there was silence for a long time.
Finally, it says, "Sadly the lucky monkey won't be able to utilize those laws properly since there is a lack of Heaven and Earth energy on my body. The first monkey to give the special metal any amount of heaven and Earth energy would probably die due to the suction force. So let's add a setting to save that monkey's soul as well."
There was a noise of something being formed and then the Core looked a bit less bright as if it had lost something.

"Derek will be your personal trainer, right dear?" Mom says ripping the ear buds from my ears. I blinked and sagged into the cushions of the car, wishing I could sink away. 
"He'll also be living with us since his.... sorry." Dad says pausing at the look on Derek's face. Yep, I know he ain't that old but it was fun teasing him.
" I hope you realize he's a werewolf, and that vamps and... pups don't get along." I grumbled.
" Khaleesi!" Mom scolded. I shrugged and smiled at Derek who raised an eyebrow.
" By the way can I get blood bank or something? I had to drink an animals blood to sate the thirst." I say nonchalantly. My mother sighed rubbing the bridge of her nose and temples.
"We've already installed a fridge in your room and library. Don't go through it to quickly." Mom says. I nodded my head and held my hand out. 
" What?" She asks.
"Ear buds,mom." I say smiling. She smiled.
"No."  Surprised by her answer I froze. She said no? Ah, well. Shrugging I sat back and brought my phone out, typing in a few words, the Jeeps radio system went off with my music so I sat back and stared out the window.
"Khaleesi." Both parents growled.
"Fine." I tapped the pause button and leaned back. 

In my personal library and after a long and awkward silent lunch....

I spread the book out on my coffee table, my laptop next to it, placing dictionaries of all kinds on a stack besides me I began to work through the words starting with the title page. 'Historicum ibi de Sole RAPTO.' I searched it into the laptops Google first, tapping my pen on the table. Hijack the story of the sun. I burst out laughing at the words. Google mixed the words up! ( It actually did, Hijack was meant to be something else. And then there's also the fact that there's supposed to be another word that Google seemed to have missed.) I began to fiddle with both the title and Google's answer. Shuffling the words, that are in Latin until they actually made sense, Quod Fabula autem quod sol populo, is what I got, now let's translate it word for word this time.  (Google messed with my title! 😭) Now the translation;
The history of the sun the people. Ayie this seems to be taking to long! translating the rest took three weeks, in between all of that I was busy with trying to find out what I was except for a vampire, I went through Derek's torture and Stiles and Scott's games. Lidia had approached me and had invited me to her group. I had said no right off the bat, her face had froze and her lips had twitched it was quite the funny scene. Then I was also busy with the translation, and the fixing of my translation device. I stretched as I finished the last page of the book. 
( Okay this is really ancient stuff so bare with me please, it's apart of the story so I have to add it the action and adventure part comes when Scott, ya know.)
Creatures of the sun have roamed the Earth longer than those with two feet and no power. They often lived on high mountains and reflective surfaces in hopes of being closer to their energy source. These creatures are descendants of the great and almighty sun God Ra, ruler of life and light, the center of the stars. Each of these sunlings have special characteristics that resemble that of the sun, either their eyes are a firey red, their skin a scarlett hue or their hair like rivers of blood. Or a simple orange instead of red, sometimes, though rarely white. They could take form of any living creature that crosses their paths and their magic is like none other.... but their dying. The God of Ra has been missing for centuries, unable to guide the new generations and unable to aid in their downfall. Soon they will be nothing more than powerless deity's who stand on the thrones of the world's.* Tilting my head* These are slowly turning into humans and there is nothing any one could do, some chose to stay in their beast forms, finding shelter from the chaos the world's were thrown in because of the missing God. Over time these Creatures were known by a name, Solbeastia. They have integrated into the Society of Vampires and have then since been lost in time..." (Did I mess that up?) They spoke of other history relating to the sun people but not the beast. Dying I rubbed my forehead all that translating just for scrap.

Liluim, a young Crafters who used to live in the Savage Lands of Southern Africa had died one night and was reincarnated into a world where myths and legends is an every day occurrence.

Alice's PoV

My bad mood quickly disappeared as I ate the meat, Kelz is great cook he said I can find him if I want him to cook for free but his condition is to eat with me. Of course I agreed happily. He left after helping me washing the dishes. 

I looked at the title of the book the hut gave me, I can't understand it but I have a guess the word must be Seman. Keyrs the one who used Magic on us to translate language doesn't work on reading? This is very troublesome. It means I have to learn another language? 

I frowned, how am I going to learn Magic then? Kelz said the hut has anything I want. Maybe the hut has something to translate this book but I don't want to go back. I don't have a choice do I?  

I went into the place were the hut was in, but I saw nothing.

"Hey! I know you're there! Stop hiding!" I yelled like a crazy woman if my classmates saw me like this, I would hide from them forever. "Or else…I'll burn this place! I'm not kidding."

Silence, no response. 

I heard a cry behind me, I turned back and I saw a young girl crying she was trembling with fear looking at me with wide eyes. Great. I scared her. Now what?

I smiled awkwardly, "Shuush, its okay." I tried to calm her down but she scampered like a cornered mice. I look at the little girl running away from me, am I really scary?

"Pfft!" I heard a snicker, I didn't bother to look I knew it was the hut.

"Ha. Ha. Funny." I said dryly, "Now let me in."

The hut didn't replied.

I screamed.

"You think I'm joking? When I said I will burn this place." I muttered while holding a flint and a knife. I borrowed it from Kelz he was confused why would I want it but I didn't say anything. I gathered some dry grass and leaves.

"What are you doing?" The hut asked, it will respond to me now but it will not let me enter.

"Burning your place."

"How? You don't know any Magic to make fire." 

"I don't need Magic to start a fire."

"Impossible!" 

I smiled slyly, so this world don't know how to start a fire without magic. It was no surprise to me though. I mean they have Magic! Why would they find a way to make fire when they can wave their hand and poof there's fire.

"How about a bet then?" I grinned. "If I can make a fire without Magic, you will be my servant for a hundred years. If I can't I will give you new knowledge you would never know." I'm not sure how old the hut is but I'm guessing it lived more than a thousand years. My proof? This is a world of Magic. Anything is possible.

"You? Give me knowledge I don't know?" The hut laughed like it had heard the most funny joke in the world. "I don't mean to brag, but I am the most knowledgeable person in the whole world of Thera!" 

"Oh really?" I chuckled, "Then let me give you a question if you answered wrong…"

"If I'm wrong, I will agree to the bet."

I smiled, "How many elements are in this world?"

"Are you mocking me kid?" The hut sounded angry, I rolled my eyes why did he sound like I insult him? 

"No, just answer." I frowned, "I'm serious about this question."

"Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Light, Darkness, and Space. There are seven of them, although the humans think Creation is part of the elements they're wrong."

"You're wrong." I bluntly said.

"I'm not stupid kid, my answer is correct and you don't have any new knowledge." It sounded disappointed.

"Actually there are more than a hundred elements in this world." 

"You're crazy! Just go away!"

"The element of Water is made up of elements. They are oxygen and hydrogen." I explained but the hut didn't listen instead he changed the subject.

"Do you know why I don't believe you?"

"Why?"

"If you know what the element of water is made of, then why can't you use Magic? To use Magic one must use their imagination but it is very mind draining if it isn't clear. This is the reason why Mages chant to use Magic. Arch-Mage doesn't need to chant because they can chant within their mind." It explained, I need to use my imagination to use Magic? Wow! It is very easy.

"What about the Magic to translate language?"

"It isn't Magic. Its a Spell. Imagination is also the key but one must be a Wizard. Go away!" Well at least the hut explained how to use Magic. It was a shame though I can't make the hut as my servant but I will show him I'm correct but first lets kill some beast!

Next, my goal is to kill some beast to increase my level. I had a feeling the King will call us back.

Antonio's PoV

"Fireball." I pointed at the Three-Eyed Wolf who was badly injured in our battle, it was fun but I have to end it. The wolf howled in pain as it burned after a few minutes it died. I should have imagined the fireball will explode to kill it immediately, it was pitiful to look at it dying slowly with a painful expression.

"Can I ask a question Antonio?" The soul, Rei. He told me his name after we escape from the King a few days ago.

"Hmm?" I hummed in response.

"Why did you say something when you're using Magic when you can do it without chanting?"

"Because its cool."

"Cool? You mean you feel cold when you are using Magic?" Rei sighed in pity. "You have a disease. May the God of Life bless you." 

I sighed and I didn't bother to explain. 

"I don't have one."

"Yes, you do."

"What is it?"

"Stupidity." He said simply. When he first talked to me I thought he is a guy who has a good attitude, boy I was wrong. So wrong.

"I should find some priest to exorcise you out of my body." I said.

"Just absorb the Mana already."

"Okay." I touch the corpse of the wolf and absorb the Mana from it, the wolf's body disappeared and I heard a explosion in my brain. After a few seconds I felt like I was in heaven. It was addicting the feeling of absorbing the power. I killed a lot of wolves, I started at the One-Eyed Wolf since its strength is the equal of a 1st Level Mage or Knight, a Three-Eyed wolf is equal to the strength of a 9th - 5th Level of a High Mage or Knight.

"Congratulations." Rei said in a flat voice. "You are now a 7th level High Mage-Low."

I smiled, my level increased a lot the King was right being summoned from an another world has its own advantage. "Let me try to use Air Walk." Air Walk is a Magic I made from making a platform of Mana to step on Air but I can't do it with my level alone, Rei said to try again when I am at Wizard level.

"Here I go!" I jump and I imagined a platform below my feet and used Wind Magic to propel me higher, "It worked!" 

"Idiot, feel your Mana pool only a quarter of it is remaining. Go down if you don't want to break your bones." Rei warned angrily, "You need to feel your Mana Pool when doing Magic! If your Mana runs out you will damage your mind and body!"

I listened to him but I was disappointed, "My Mana is not enough for flying…"

I felt free when I was flying to escape from the King, I want to do it again.

"The way you use your Mana is horrible!" Rei reminded me for the hundredth time, "You need to learn to control your Mana efficiently."

"I know, but how?"

"I can't teach you properly because I am a soul inside your body." Rei said, "You need to have a teacher, go to the Forest of Evina. There is someone I knew when I was alive, her name is Telu she is at the 1st Level Master-peak. She can control Qi perfectly. I'm not sure what her level is now though since it has been four years ago when I saw her."

"Will she teach me willingly?"

"Maybe, I think she will ask you a request." Rei said, "Let me warn you, don't agree to her request if you do. I will make you regret it." 

I nodded.

"Just tell her the truth about how you are from a different world and Seth was killed by the King. That's it."

"Why do I need to tell her about Seth?"

"Just listen to me." Rei seemed like he didn't want to talk about it. Just who is Rei? If I told Alice about Rei would she be able to guess his identity?

Their whole class was transported to an another world without any warning, confused by the sudden change of their lives they made mistakes which caused them to regret it.

"You asshole! How could you do that?" shouted Yuki. "I trusted you! I trusted you… How could you betray my trust like that?" Tears of anger and frustration threatened to spill over. Yuki hastily wiped them away, unwilling to show her tears to the man before her. 

"I told you I wasn't thinking. I've apologized, haven't I? I don't get why you're making such a big fuss over nothing," Naoki sighed, exasperated. "It was only a blow job. Furthermore, I didn't plan to go there. Like I said, we were brought to the fuuzoku* by this Japanese man that we coincidentally met. My friends were dying to try it, and I didn't want to dampen their mood, so I simply went with the flow."

"Simply went with the flow?" Yuki shrieked. "Did you even think about how I would feel?"

"Seriously? It's not as if I had sex. Enough, stop making such a fuss. I've apologized and promised that I won't do it again. What more do you want?" Naoki muttered morosely.

"You. Obviously. Do. Not. Give. A. Damn. Get out of my house! We are through! Don't you dare show your f**king face in front of me ever again!" Yuki yelled. 

"Whatever. I bet you'll be begging me to forgive you within days, as always." Naoki said over his shoulder as he casually sauntered out of Yuki's apartment.

"Never!" Yuki seethed. Enraged, she slammed the door shut. The resounding slam had a sense of finality in it. Overwhelmed by her emotions, Yuki's knees went weak and she knelt on the ground. Loud sobs escaped from her mouth as tears rolled down her cheeks. Like an overflowing river, the devastating pain and sadness from her heartache flooded Yuki's body. Yuki gripped her chest and curled into a ball, while tears ran down her face, staining her carpeted floors.

After crying her heart out, Yuki listlessly stared out of her window, at the bright full moon glowing like a lustrous pearl against the backdrop of the dark, inky night sky. Slowly, she stood up weakly, and staggered towards the window. Leaning her head against the window sill, she sought solace in the stillness of the night. Feeling the cold crisp wind caressing her face, she noticed numerous tiny white specks falling from the sky. 

Watching the first snow fall of the year, a tear drop rolled down her face unnoticed. "It was the first snowfall, two years ago, when we fell in love and it is the first snowfall, two years later, signalling our end". Yuki's frail whisper disappeared into the silence of the night, as if covered by the falling snowflakes.

Notes:
*Fuuzoku is a Japanese term that translate to sex service. It is not prostitution, but basically provides other sexual services such as handjobs, blowjobs but no sex.

Yuki, 20 years old, broke up with her first boyfriend after having dated for 2 years. Heartbroken, she decided to take a leave of absence from her university and moved back home to recover and seek solace from her family. Not long after moving back, Yuki’s grandmother suffered a bad fall while cleaning the attic and was hospitalised. Yuki, having grown up under the care of her grandmother, decided to help her grandmother finish tidying up her attic. "What about Professor Wang's book? Will it take long to translate?"
"That book is more like a scholarly book. The translation will take about two months."
"I see. Well, I am not familiar with the publishing business, so I am heavily counting on you, President Shin."
"Thank you."
 
Gun-Ho was sitting on his chair in his office, and he was thinking quietly with his eyes closed.
'I formed a publishing company—GH Media—sort of on impulse because I had adequate workers for that business: Jae-Sik and the workers from the design company. I am not sure if the company will generate enough revenue though. I invested 300 million won in that company, and I wonder if that money will vanish in a short period of time. Seukang Li is now the director of the bureau of cultural affairs in Shanghai, China, and he has the power in the field, including publishing books and media. I wonder if there will be an opportunity for me to do something using my connection with him.'
 
Gun-Ho couldn't think of anything for now, that would bring him some profit using his connection with Seukang Li.
"Well, there is nothing much I can do other than to rely on President Jeong-Sook Shin, who is known to have the hand of Midas in the publishing industry."
Gun-Ho then chuckled.
"The hand of Midas? The real hand of Midas should be my hand, I suppose."
 
Gun-Ho then thought of the joint venture opportunity with Dyeon.
'I am moving my current factory in Asan City to Jiksan Town and establish Dyeon Korea at the current location by investing in kind. Once I form a new company—Dyeon Korea—I will have to invest funds in it again. Would 3 million dollars be enough? Dyeon America probably invested in kind with old equipment and valued it at a high price.'
 
Gun-Ho continued to think while having a cup of coffee.
'I will tell them that we shouldn't name the company Dyeon Korea. The company will target the entire Asian market. If other companies which buy our products name their company as Dyeon China, Dyeon Indonesia, or Dyeon Taiwan, that would be overwhelming. I will name the company GH Chemical instead. Its products are a sort of synthetic resins; I guess I can add the word 'Chemical' to the company name. The problem is whether those Americans would approve the name—GH Chemical?'
 
Gun-Ho started having a headache. He wanted to get some fresh air and get some rest. He headed to Dujeong Town in Cheonan City and went into a massage shop behind the Lotte Mart.
"This is so good. I feel so relaxed."
 
After having a massage and while he was walking out of the massage shop, Gun-Ho gave a call to Director Yoon who had been working at the new factory construction site in Jiksan Town.
"Why don't we have lunch together today?"
The two men went to a Galbi* restaurant called Gyeongbuk Palace. Money was good. Gun-Ho had nice food all the time, and he could get a massage whenever he felt like it. He was living large.
 
Gun-Ho received a call from Suk-Ho Lee from Geyongridan Street. It was the first time in a long time.
"You have been busy, right? I am just calling you to hear your voice."
"How's your honeymoon life? Aren't you having a baby yet?"
"Speaking of which, I decided to expand my business."
"Expanding to where?"
"I saw a nice place in Itaewon Town."
"Oh, really? You will do fine since you are good at business."
"But I am a bit short on funds to expand my bar. Are you willing to invest about 200 million won in my business?"
"Haha. I don't invest in anything; especially between friends. If things go well, that would be great, but if things don't go well, I might lose a friend. I don't risk that."

"I have more than 200 billion won in my stock account. However, I will never be involved in a personal monetary dealing with anybody. "Yeah. I actually wanted to meet in Itaewon Town, but some of them complained that it wasn't a convenient place for them to come. I think they are all the same: Itaewon Town and Gangnam Station. Don't you think?"

"Jae-Sik is working for a publishing company?"

The taxi door opened and the driver got out of the car slowly. He was a slightly chubby man in a yellow short-sleeved shirt. 
Three men then appeared from within the vicinity of the amusement park.
One of them was bald, and one had a skinny face with a mustache that gave him an air of cruelty. Their eyes gleamed with a sense of danger.
The last person caught Ye Lingchen by surprise. It was Younger Master Wu from Jiangnan Tannery, Wu Junjie!
"How is it? Did you bring her here?" said the skinny man in a voice as vicious as his character.
"She's in the car," said the driver. "Most likely too scared to get out of the car."
"Hehehe, that's good!"
The skinny man made a dissonant maniacal laugh, glancing sidewards at Wu Junjie beside him, and said in a cold voice, "You're sure she's the daughter of Wanrong Automobile Group's chairman?
"Absolutely!" Wu Junjie looked inside the car, his eyes revealing a cold look of vengeance. "Although the Wanrong Automobile Group was secretive, Jiangnan Tannery is still able to dig out some information!"
"Excellent!" The skinny man nodded. 
"Get her out of the car!" Wu Junjie ordered with a grim smile on his face. He walked up to the car and opened the door. "Miss Xu, please get out of the car!"
"Wu Junjie! It's you!" Xu Wanqing's face was pale. It would seem that she was in quite a bad state of shock.
"Hehe, Xu Wanqing. Even if my Jiangnan Tannery goes under, I'll make your life hell!" Wu Junjie glared at Xu Wanqing. "You're the little princess of Wanrong Automobile Group right?!"
"You!" Xu Wanqing's expression turned ugly.
"Haha, it seems I'm spot on!" The skinny man approached them. "With that, that makes my job much easier."
"Who are you?" Xu Wanqing asked after biting her lips.
"We're from Sun Nation's Earth's Gate." The skinny man's eyes flashed a vicious gleam. "I heard that your Wanrong Automobile Group is researching autonomous vehicles, right?"
Xu Wanqing's expression turned dark, an ominous feeling filled her heart. "Wu Junjie, you're helping the people of the Sun Nation?!"
"What about it? It's all because of you!" Wu Junjie had a crazed look in his eyes. "I've lost everything. This information can bring me riches and women. Of course, I'll have to make the best use of it!"
"Well well, I didn't expect Wanrong Automobile's little princess to look so pretty!" The skinny man smiled teasingly, with a glimmer of perverted lust in his eyes, then stretched his hand towards Xu Wanqing's cheeks.
Xu Wanqing's body trembled while she backed off, barely getting out of the way.
Her eyes showed signs of terror, then said with a trembling voice, "We're in China. If you do anything rash, you will die!"
"Hehehe, you Chinese have an idiom that says, "the worst is just death[1]". It's been a long time since I've met a woman of such quality." The skinny man licked his lips, eager to push himself on her.
"Since she's our hostage, why don't we enjoy her for a while. It'll be fine as long as she doesn't die." Those cold words threw Xu Wanqing's heart into a chasm, causing a look of despair to creep onto her face.
 "Thank you sir for your offer." Wu Junjie was overjoyed. He did not expect such a wonderful turn of events for him. He had long yearned for Xu Wanqing. At that moment he was running out of patience, eager to jump on her.
The four of them looked at Xu Wanqing with their eyes filled with an intention to toy with her, as though how a cat toyed with its prey. Xu Wanqing could only back off helplessly as her body trembled.
Right then, in an instant, a majestic voice representing justice could be heard.
"Hold it right there. Let go of that girl!"
That voice caught them off guard. They glanced at their surroundings and finally noticed a person standing on the roof of the merry-go-round. That person was wearing a mask, and in the middle of that black mask, was a blood-red Y.
"Superman Y?!"
Xu Wanqing and Wu Junjie both exclaimed at the same time.
However, one was from surprise, while the other was from fear.
"Superman Y? What's that?" The skinny man gave Wu Junjie a dubious look.
"He's someone that just got famous recently. He seems strong and mysterious," Wu Junjie explained in a serious tone, his mind going wild as though ten thousand alpacas stampeded within.
'WTF! Is Superman Y this amazing?'
'How can he appear right now at a crucial moment?'
"Superman Y, save me!" Xu Wanqing immediately shouted, seeing a potential savior.
Ye Lingchen stood on the high ground staring at them, his eyes displayed an arrogant look as he nonchalantly demanded, "Let go of her now, raise your hands up and surrender, or I'll punish you in the name of the moon![2]" 
Ye Lingchen had always carried a Superman Y mask with him. After all, that was a symbol of his identity. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be useful in this situation.
"Superman?" The skinny man was stunned at first, then chuckled. "What's this? Calling yourself a superman after wearing a mask?"
"Come out!"
With his orders, people started coming out from all corners of the amusement park immediately.
They were hiding all over the amusement park. With weapons in hand, they all crowded over towards Ye Lingchen with a vicious look on their face.
Xu Wanqing, who had never seen such a scene before, was scared speechless.
"Hehe, a Chinese superhero? This is just too funny." The skinny man looked at Ye Lingchen excitedly. "I think you've been watching too many movies. Today, I'll destroy this superhero of yours!"
Ye Lingchen leaped and landed with a cool pose, his gaze remaining unfazed. "I gave you a chance. You guys...come at me together!"
"Brothers, get him!"
The thugs roared, then raised their weapons and charged at Ye Lingchen with full force.
"Wata[3]!" 
Ye Lingchen raised his hand and sent a punch to the person right in front of him!
That thug immediately fell to the ground. 
After that, Ye Lingchen executed a sidewards kick, landing straight at another thug's third leg, causing his eyes to tear up immediately.
"Wata!"
"Wata!"
Ye Lingchen was dominating. Each of his attacks cut through their defenses. All those within a meter of his body were all knocked down to the floor, incapacitated.
Such a scene was even more amazing than an action movie. The skinny man, Wu Junjie, and even Xu Wanqing were all dumbstruck.
Such a person was just too unbelievable.
Within three minutes, the world turned peaceful once again. The thugs were all knocked out.
As for Ye Lingchen, he lightly dusted his shoulders as though he just did something inconsequential, after which he slowly approached the skinny man.
"That...that's superman!" Wu Junjie's expression turned bitter, at the verge of tears. Without any hesitation, he knelt to the ground. "Superman Y, we're both Chinese. Please forgive me…"
[1] 牡丹花下死做鬼也风流  (To die under the Moutan peony, even being a ghost is freeing *Literal translation*) This is an ancient Chinese idiom. The Moutan peony here refers to a woman. In this idiom, the general understanding of it is to show that when faced with death, one would choose to die fulfilling one's carnal desires. As for the in depth scholarly approach, it would be to say that death is the worst it can get, be it getting killed by someone or dying from exhaustion under a woman's skirt. Gah, idioms. It's a pain to translate them. Rant complete :P

[3] In raw, it's "我打!", which would literally translate to "I hit!". However, with the constant recurrence of this phrase whenever he hits one of the thugs, we believe this is a reference to Bruce Lee's "Wata wata wata" sound that he makes when making quick hits in succession. Also, it sounds cooler this way instead of "I hit, I hit, I hit!" isn't it?

Trindai listened to the pleading and denial with only half an ear. He was surprised he hadn't become more furious than he was, but Keen was on war foot and that somehow made an attack more understandable.
     Admiral Radovic wanted Keen to allow him to throw explosives on the launch port from the sky and for once the council was united in their refusal.
     The liaison from the Republic of Mars, William Anderson advocated caution, but even he had declared that he would support the federation if they took military action against the renegade officer.
     The third sky kingdom, New Sweden, had no official liaison in Verd, not anyone alive at least. A woman named Anita Kirchenstein-Yui acted as their temporary official here, and she had been livid from the moment she found herself among the few survivors landing outside Verd.
     To Trindai's supreme shock she refused to take part in any military action against Brigadier Goodard and his soldiers. Diplomatic channels and restitution were words she used frequently though, and Erwin winced visibly every time she used the latter. Still, they had been massacred. Of twenty sky ships only four landed safely and another two crashed with survivors, and still she refused what she called an escalation of armed conflict.
     That was something more that cowardliness. It was cowardliness raised to an ideal worth dying for, and Trindai was at a loss how to react. In his world you fought for what you believe in, and you made sure you had the best weapons and the best training, because if at all possible you should never have to fight, just show those big, ugly fists to anyone who needed threatening.
     That woman was prepared to die. She wasn't happy about it, quite the opposite, but she just wasn't prepared to use armed force to defend her beliefs. That made no sense at all. The third sky kingdom had no right to exist at all if it was undefended. The presence of outworlder soldiers proved that. If you had soldiers you had fighting, somewhere.
     He looked at the woman. Hair as black as those from the Sea of the Mother or Khi and face resembling that of a Khi citizen. That made her stand out. Most of the survivors were light in complexion, more so than the average outworlder.
     She was also far shorter, almost short enough to go unnoticed here. Made up for it with energy in abundance though, and a hatred so strong it made her position on armed resistance just so much stranger.
     Her stand, though, didn't make Erwin pull his reins the least. He begged. He threatened. He lied and he promised. He was a man possessed, and Trindai had seen his share of soldiers close to hysteria to recognize deeply hidden combat memories emerging from the black corner where they had been safely stuffed away. There had been rumours, and the blossoms of death in the air confirmed them. Something had gone terribly wrong that day fifteen years ago when outworlders first came here, and Erwin had been among them.
     Trindai remembered. A younger man that day, but old enough to be colonel. Dragon flowers they had called the spectacle in the sky. Now he knew what those flowers were. His soldiers were just starting to bury their fruit.
     Had Erwin lost friends that day? Probably. Family? Maybe. How many had died? And how had they died? It smelled of dragons meddling. Ira, Rhuin or Khanati might have the power to take on a sky ship, but the dragon flowers had been all over the world. Trindai could hardly recall anyone old enough to remember who hadn't seen them. It had the stench of meddling dragons all over it.
     He watched Erwin storm out of the council chamber spitting angry words in English on his way. The anger was understandable, but the outworlder general with his men were only a trains ride from Verd and Erwin's allies were high up in the sky, and everyone had seen what happened to sky ships trying to land under outworlder opposition. Keen couldn't afford to take that risk.
     William shrugged and apologized on Erwin's behalf, and behind him an outworlder gathered together his collection of flying gadgets. Red News. One of the team from the first surprise landing on the training grounds.
     Trindai smiled at the man. He had been ordered to. Mairild probably thought a military man abhorred the presence of a mere citizen during an important meeting. He didn't. If the outworlders could use their own version of the farwriter to tell their own what happened here Keen stood to benefit, and Trindai was far more interested in results than the means to get them.
     With the newscaster, he tasted the foreign expression in his mouth, out of the room they sat down to discuss how to meet the new threat without resorting to a military gamble.
     William didn't have much help to offer. He promised to sign a statement where they protested against the killing, but there was little more he could do.
     "I'll send out scouts," Trindai offered. It had to be dragoons. Horses would be too visible at close range, which meant putting the Imperial Guard in the field.
     "And Verd?" Minister de Saiden asked. He echoed Trindai's thoughts.
     Trindai tried to look thoughtful, but this was only part of a rehearsed performance for the rest of the council. "The brigade has enough training to take care of the patrols and be used for the training of a second brigade as well," he answered.
     Olvar nodded, as did Mairild and Makarin. Tenanrild looked unhappy but she agreed as Trindai knew she would. Even Glarien nodded his approval and that gesture quickly brought the others in line.
     "We still have a lot of wounded to care for," William translated Anita's words.
     "We will do our best, but we're stretched thin I'm afraid," the Minister of Education, Irtina de Gelven, answered.
     "More so than we had hoped," Garkain, Minister of Craft, filled in unhelpfully.
     Tenanrild glared at him. "Could not blame them. Not asked to be killed in the sky," she said. Minister of Transportation, and with a severe attitude whenever the transportation of anything ended in disaster. Garkain would pay for his choice of words for a long time.
     "I think we could help you," Anita persisted with the help of William.
     That got everyone's attention. Even William halted his translation and gaped at her.
     "And just how do you plan to do that?" Irtina asked. "You aren't all doctors I guess."
     Anita smiled, a sad, longing smile. "No, I am the one of two who survived. My husband is the other and he's dying in that pigsty you call hospital," she added.
     "That pigsty, as you so kindly refer to, is the finest clinic there is, unless you resort to the dirty practices of Ri Khi."
     She had to say that, Trindai observed. He'd almost forgotten just how strongly she held to the views of the Ministry of Magehunting.
     "Any practice that saves lives without taking them is a good practice where I come from," Anita answered. William had to be coerced to translate that, but Trindai had seen Mairild's grimace long before William's words filled the room.
     "Relent! From such unholy thoughts comes the temptation to commit vileness!"
     Trindai shared a silent thought with Mairild. Hepaten ar el de Levius couldn't have stayed his words even if he had wanted to, but the Minster of Magehunting was a fanatic believer in his work and never needed much of a reason to voice his thoughts on that matter.
     The heavyset man originally came from Ira, as did so many of those who hated the forbidden arts the most. It wasn't so strange. Small but powerful Ira was a haven for any user of the arts, and those without that power were treated as second rate humans. Trindai knew more than a few fled Keen for a similar reason. Most ended up in Ira, just as fanatical in their opposite belief. There was a certain poetic balance to be found in that truth.
     He frowned. The last five years hadn't seen many people moving anywhere a horse or their legs couldn't take them. The raiders had put a stop to that.
     William shone with relief as he started to translate Anita's next words, and Trindai saw Mairild smile approvingly before he heard them.
     "We would never resort to magic for the simple reason we don't know any. The refined arts of education and technology are allowed here if I understand."
     Irtina smiled. Anita had tickled her ego the right way, and Hepaten leaned back in his chair once again.
     Trindai let out his breath again. That had been a little too close.
     "We could aid you with medical..." William stopped mid-sentence and interrupted what Anita was saying. He gasped and Trindai had to look at Mairild for understanding. She sat upright as if someone had tied a spear to her back. Her face had drained of all colour
     William shouted at Anita, and to Trindai's surprise Mairild joined in. He could hardly understand a word. There was far too much emotion and the words came too fast for his basic understanding of English to suffice. This wouldn't do.
     "Silence!" He stared at Olvar. They had roared the same command with voices meant for the battlefield.
     It worked as intended.
     "Now, proceed," Olvar said, "so the rest of us can understand."
     "She's insane!" Mairild said.
     "A madwoman," William agreed. "She thinks just because we've established an embassy here you're bound by the treaties we've signed back home."
     Anita growled something. Part of it Trindai understood. De Vhatic had its own fair share of those words, and most never left the confines of barracks. Then she rose, still growling curses and left them with a satisfied grin on her face.
     "Mairild, please, and slowly for the rest of us mortals," Makarin said.
     William stood, but Mairild waved for him to take his seat again. "We need you to explain the words. I understood them, but not all they really meant."
     William sat. "I'll tell you. Please wait with your questions until after I'm done," he said.
     Trindai shrugged. This was council business now. He'd be called to clean up the mess, whatever form it took, and from William's expression it was certain to be dirty.
     "New Sweden has already decided to take matters in their own hands," William begun. "They've decided that Verd is a war zone with insufficient medical supplies."
     Mairild nodded for him to continue as he fell silent.
     "Using the treaty of Perth as an excuse they've declared the fields south of Verd as a restricted drop zone." He stammered, coughed but refused to continue.
     "We must know," Mairild told him.
     "We'll have to declare war on the Terran Federation. She has to be stopped!"
     "What?" Olvar said.
     The room had become utterly silent. They didn't fully understand, but it was clear that more than the present danger had been added to the scales.
     "All signatories have agreed to declare war on anyone who breaks that treaty," William said as if the words had any meaning for the rest of them. "The idiots have already announced that they'll commit the forced drop of a field hospital into a war zone. They have also declared that it will be unarmed and unshielded." William's voice broke, and Trindai saw that he was close to tears.
     "I think I understand where this is going, but be specific. If Verd is going to become a battlefield in a war between outworlder kingdoms we deserve to know," Olvar said.
     "A field hospital is a purely humanitarian organization. The treaty forces them to aid both sides in a conflict, and from what I've seen of your doctors you could use what they have to offer."
     "And the conflict?" Olvar nudged.
     "You don't open fire on a hospital. Never. Not even by accident," William said. "The conflict will not be restricted to Otherworld. You have to help me stop her."
     "On the contrary," Verkai de Partaken suddenly said. The Minister of Law had sat silent and brooding for the entire meeting, but now his face radiated a grim determination. "Well make room for their kind offer. I'll personally see to that our own doctors are present to welcome their outworlder colleagues. We will aid them in any way they want, even to the extent of supplying personnel to the hospital."
     You bastard! You wonderful, cold hearted genius bastard son of a gherin!
     "You'd..." William's voice broke. "You'd declare war on the federation?"
     "Of course." Verkai looked around the table where one council member after another slowly nodded their approval. Even Mairild did. "We could never stand aside and watch such a noble cause succumb to murderers and lawbreakers."
     "You're mad! You won't stand a chance!"
     "We know. We'll face annihilation if need be. Please make sure your government knows, and all other governments in outworld."
     William gasped, but eventually he slowly nodded. He still looked aghast, but a knowing frown took over from his previous look of utter shock.
     "You play a very dangerous game here, but I'll do as you ask," he said. Then he smiled unexpectedly. "Erwin will like this. Oh yes, he will like this very much," William added and laughed.
