First world: High School D&D

 It's a good world to start. But I powered it up a bit, added a few types of new magic, and some important details.

"Where do I start? From the beginning of course. It was a sunny day as I hopped out of my house and towards school... Who am I kidding? I never got to experience school. Why? I'm a shut-in.
     "I play games day and night in my room. My parents didn't even bother talking to me about school. They just let me be. I'm not being carefree just because we're rich. I actually earn a lot from gaming (⌐■◡■).
     "Now I won't go into the deets but my life basically evolved around games. I join competitions, I stream and have my sponsors supporting me, have friends in-game, yadidadida~. Until this one time where I got really unlucky. 
     "Excited to buy an upgrade for my pc, I got changed before hopping out of the house. As I walked through the street, some rock flew out from the window of the house across the street, hit my head, and killed me. 
     "Yes, ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately I have the dumbest reason for the grim reaper to come visit. Didn't even give my life a chance to flash before my eyes a second before I went to heaven ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ .
     "But this is no heaven, is it? Clearly." She said to the dead dog in front of her.
     "Look, just a few minutes after killing this guy and I'm talking to it like a best friend. I think I'm going insane." She muttered to herself.
     "I mean, who wouldn't be when you die out of sheer coincidence that you were walking on the street and some rock flew out of nowhere, killing you. Then you expect to be in heaven but you get reincarnated in an unknown world as a MONSTER, a low-level at that, and to make things worse, I'm a GIRL... I'm pretty sure I was a boy in my past life though..." She walked back and forth as she exclaimed. 
     "Although I have now problem with that..." She looked down.
     'Yep, flat as a board.' Sighing, she just took out an ice shard, sharp enough to penetrate the wolf's body and started looking for a mana stone.
     Mana stones are unrefined mineral mineral that radiates raw magic. They are graded (E, D, C, B, A, S, S+) according to how dense the magic is inside. The stone may be the size of a boulder but have the density of 2.5 magic inside. It means, it only has 25 magic and is only grade E.
     Mana stones are use by almost everyone. Alchemists, blacksmiths, and adventurers are the ones who mostly uses them. 
     Astarte found the mana stone, pinky-sized, and examined it. 
     'I have no idea how to know what grade a mana stone is...' She thought to herself before finally crushing it before putting it in her mouth. A faint gold light surrounded her body and she felt the magic surging through her veins.

     'Damn, that tiny stone was a C grade stone? I zoomed through 7 levels and even got an extra skill from it.' Astarte rejoiced. 
     "Why does a measly wolf like you have a C grade mana stone in your body?" She looked at the dead wolf beside her. She shrugged as she then distributed the points she got from leveling up.
     'Since I'm not a tank, I'll let my DEF be for now. I'll focus on INT, AGI, and Magical DMG since I'm a mage. INT for more total MP, AGI for my speed, and of course Magical DMG for my spells and active skills. Though I'm a mage, ranged fighting isn't my kind of style. I'd rather hit and run from different directions and luckily, this body really suits my fighting style. Flexible and light. However, my problem is my reach. This body is shorter than average. I don't even think it reaches 5 feet.
     'I think I'll also add a bit to my Strength since I can't lift stuff if I'm weak af. To my physical DMG... Hmm, I think I'll add it to my priorities too. I can't always rely on my ice powers. What if I run out of Mana? I wanna punch a monster so hard it'll have a one round trip around the world. I just hope this body can take it. Though it's not a monster for nothing right?
     Astarte finished adjusting her stats before she climbed on a large tree, set up traps around and slept for the night.

Why? Why is it that every time I get angry , enraged and change forms I lose sight of what I was doing or lose sight of my surroundings, I am angry and I hate myself for it every time. I hate myself even more whenever I scare Ruka or anyone, it makes me feel like a monster because I can't control that part yet. I was sitting down on a log while I was looking at the river trying to get my thoughts all together and everything else that I have been feeling as well when suddenly I heard a stick break from behind me, when I turned around I saw Luka starring at me while approaching me carefully. 
"Lilith..... you okay" asked Luka worried 
"..... I ..... I just hate the fact I lose sight of my surroundings and I end up scaring people especially loved ones and it hurts, everyone looks at me like a monster and sometimes I think that I am I-I....." I said as I bit my lips trying to stop my tears from falling 
"Your not a monster Lilith, your you, and it's okay to sometimes be scared I mean really it's fine that's normal, everyone is scared of somethings or of people that's just because we sometimes judge people for either their appearances and we sometimes forget that not everyone is the same, everyone goes though hardships or even tough childhoods however that doesn't change who they are as a person ... ugh listen when I was growing up I was in the same position as you, I was also and still am looked at as a monster but, I don't let that define me as a person, yes people get scared that's normal because it's like an instinct we all fear about things that we don't know about and so it up to us to decide if we should let it define who we are or how people see us or let it cloud our judgements, I am going to say this Lilith I wasn't scared of you none of us were we were just shocked to see you act that way and it's okay to be scared about having people you care about deeply seeing you as a monster it's normal however just know that we all love you and always will no matter what okay, now what do you say we clean up those tears and head back hmmm?" Asked Luka
I didn't respond I just wiped my tears and nodded then headed towards the others. A few years ago if someone would have told me that I was going to run into my mate in collage or that I would reconnect with my little wolf pup or find out about who the people who were raising my and my siblings weren't out real parents or anything that had happened to me would happen I wouldn't have believed them like at all but, it was nice to have people around me and showing me things that I didn't understand or comprehend or anything at this point however I am glad that I have people in my life. As I was in my own thought I felt a big push and the next thing I know my but started to sting then I noticed that Luna and Shadow had knocked me on my arse and Ruka was hugging my arm tightly hell the three of them alone were hugging me like I would disappear again and never come back which I don't blame them to I do have a tendency to run away when I am upset but, it was nice getting hugged for like 20 minutes. 
"Do you feel better now Lilith?" Asked Luna 
"Am I okay? Are you guys okay? You guys aren't scared of me?" I asked confused 
"Lilith Hunny we all have gone through what you have minus some stuff however the stuff revolving around the wolf we all have gone through it, your father and I as well as are family, it is shocking to see it happen but, with more training we can control that part" said mom 
"Your mother is right" said dad 
"No matter what even thou I was scared I still love you mommy" said Ruka 
"And I will always love you, we all love you and that's never going to change" said grandma 
"Thank you" I replied feeling a bit better 
After a very warm and heartfelt moment we headed back to the house.
"Umm are th-" "no I sent Rocket to clean up" said grandma 
"Ah okay sorry and thank you" I replied then thanked Rocket once we got in the house well when I saw him. Even thou they said that they still love me no matter what, I will always see myself as a monster and I will always hate myself even more. Once we got home everyone looked at me and said that they were going to go to the store and would be back, before I could say anything Ruka came up to me and said that she was a bit tired, I mean it is her nap time, so I nodded my head at then as to say okay then picked Ruka up and headed towards my bedroom to put her to bed. Once she was on the bed and asleep from me reading her a bedtime story I went into the bathroom then look at my self in the mirror after I washed my face, when all of a sudden curtain thoughts started flowing into my head, my reflection was moving around when I was standing still, all I could hear are my thoughts and nothing else, 'they are scared of you', 'you are a monster', 'you hurt someone again', 'I should just die', 'no one wants a monster by their side', 'die no one will care', I shook my head trying to shake these thoughts away, but they just kept getting louder and louder then my eyes started to wounded around the bathroom looking for something, my eyes stopped at my razor, picked it up and began to run it across my skin on my wrist. I came back to my senses when I felt a sharp pain across my cheek and then my wrist began to throb however I looked up as to see who it was that had just slapped me, god how much I wish I didn't look up because I saw my Shadow and Luna looking at me with such a pained expression as if they were the ones hurt and slapped. 
"Lilith what the hell!!!!" Yelled Shadow 
"Why did you do that to yourself?!" Yelled Luna as she held a warm wet hand cloth to my wrist to try and stop the bleeding
I didn't know what to say at first because my brain was trying to process what just happened then I spoke.
"I don't know ..... I don't even remember doing this, all I removed is going to the washroom to wash my face then I started to hear my thoughts saying things and then next thing I know I was slapped" I replied 
"Lilith look at me" said my brother  
I looked at Shadow to see that he was reaching for my head then began to pay my heading saying the opposite of what these thoughts in my head were saying, my eyes began to tear up however I didn't let any tears falls until my sister said something to me that I didn't even know about.
"Lilith I know what you were thinking about, so listen to what I am about to say because I have also been there, to that dark and cold place, we aren't scared of you okay when we said we weren't scared of you we meant it okay let that sink in for a bit also it's okay to cry it just means your human, that your not a robot, so if you ever feel like you might go through those thoughts again then please come to any of us and we will help you so let your tears out it's okay we are all here for you and we aren't going anywhere" she said while she treats my cut
I just look up at them and then let everything I had been keeping inside out, my pain, frustration, fear, hate, anger, everything out for four hours then I had passed out due to the exhaustion, pain and being light headed. When I woke up it was already the next morning, I had slept the rest of the day away yesterday great.

Sorry for the short chapter I have been having difficulty coming up with more ideas to put into the story.



I don’t know if he helped me or if he is using me against my family for money or something else. “Why are you doing this?” No answer huh fine two can play at that game, I can also look hot in a completely drenched whit top......wait what am I thinking, I mean he did save me, but what if he actually saved me to sell me um.....I don’t think that’s why right...... yeah I have to be wrong. I see him staring at me so intensely like he wants to eat me or something however there is this feeling about him that intrigues me to him, that draws me toward him what is it that I am feeling? Or what is this feeling? What has he done to me? I just hope he doesn’t do anything. I didn’t know what to put here sorry ? I hope you can forgive me I am not very good at writing books nor is my grammar good however I hope you enjoyed it and leave a comment saying or letting me know how I can improve my writing thank you. Also sorry if I don’t put any of what you read here I the book.

After placing enough support tokens so that a huge ERROR sign didn't appear on his device screen, Gary inserted the token holder so that it clicked to indicate that it was fully seated. He smiled with a maliciousness that filled his lips and licked them.
While Gary might consider himself a cold-minded person, he was unable not to feel excited when a bet was presented in front of him. By orders of Nantensou, gambling in Shoukanjuu matches was strictly prohibited, it could even lead to imprisonment between four months and two years. Still, Gary had a high dose of adrenaline coursing through his veins, which, while he wasn't risking anything this time, was just as invigorating.
"I choose you. New connection!"
He tossed Layset into the space between him and the bully, as if this single action represented summoning. At this, Layset growled loudly, but his growls were no more than soft moans to Gary's ears. The neuro link screen was waiting for a confirmation to start the fight, he just accepted without caring about the terms.
Just as the game started, an intense glow emerged from the apparatus that he was holding with both hands, the tokens that had appeared dissolved as if the five minutes established had expired. In their place appeared three new tokens that Gary had never seen before.
Gilbert, the guy on the other side, seemed not to notice the change, otherwise Gary could swear he had tried to cancel the duel. It also seemed like a sophisticated and mysterious way of cheating to him, but if no one knew about it, it wasn't a problem at all.
On the other hand, Gary felt an unbecoming strength, as if his spirit was strengthened and losing was no longer an option. He was sure that if someone else looked at him closely, they could see an imposing aura surrounding him. Somehow that weight intimidated him.
He read the name showing the console in one corner: Marx. It was the name of the protagonist of his favorite game as a child, a cliched hero who ended up becoming the legendary king. Somehow that had fascinated him so much that he ended up winning the game repeatedly: Pyro Simbol, a strategy game that had inspired the most innocent part of his soul. Now, it was enough to raise his head.
He shook his head hard and focused on what was important, winning.
Gilbert selected his monster as if he were counting the coins in the robbers' bank, then, after a slight blink on the console, a monster not much larger than Layset's appeared. It was a kind of reptile on two legs with a hideous character, the black crest was thrown to one side and its blue skin was parched. Gary raised an eyebrow not knowing exactly how to react to that.
"Caleon, I choose you!" Gilbert yelled.
Gary decided that the lizard was light type just looking at him, he had no way to fly and their defense was quite low at first glance. He took the guesswork out of his mind and prepared to attack, however, he noticed that Layset was fast asleep. A small bubble inflated and burst on its sharp snout.
"Waterjet!" he heard the order and could only react by stammering in the negative.
A jet shot out of Caleon's mouth, pushing Layset against the far wall. The attack didn't result in serious damage but Layset's life points dropped more than Gary would have liked for the first few seconds of the duel. He sighed encouraging himself, after all, he was Marx, the legendary king, a spit on his monster would not define the combat, he hoped that Layset just hadn't realized that the combat had started and that it was not something more serious. No matter where he looked at it, it was not a normal token.
Layset returned between rolling and walking towards the designated space, you could tell that he was not in a good mood. Gary wondered if those kinds of things were programmed into the codes. It was an extremely rare token.
"Lay…" Gary was about to take control of the game when Layset shot out.
He turned his body into a ball by inserting his head between his lower legs, just like hedgehogs, then rolled towards the enemy and unraveled to hit him with his tail imbued with a radiance that covered it completely.
Gary pressed the L1 button to display the move list and saw how the Glow Tail power had been used. If he remembered correctly, Layset was a heavy type monster with a HolyLight element, which made this power understandable. However, Gilbert did not seem to be as calm as Gary, he looked shocked and gritted his teeth with his jaw clenched in disapproval.
The words SUPER EFFECTIVE appeared on the screen.
"Damn," Gilbert whispered, however, the attack hadn't dropped enough points from Caleon's life to consider it even.
Gary, in turn, was engrossed in a matter more aberrant in his judgment. He understood that certain blows or bites were automatic in fights, it were the same attacks that he used to perform manually in the internal local connection. He saw it as pressing "Circle" several times for consecutive attacks that ended in some short combo, but what he saw was very different. Layset had used a power on his own, without Gary giving an order, and that was strange.
"Does my monster ... doesn't obey me?" The very idea made him wince.
A monster that didn't obey was a useless monster, and he couldn't use the hacked tokens because the Debugging System at Nii Square would interpret them as viruses and deactivate them before it could be summoned.
Caleon took advantage of Layset's lack of agility after his attack and used "Water Jet" on Gilbert's command. This attack knocked Layset back, however, perhaps because he wasn't off guard now, he didn't throw it as far as the first time. Without giving him time to react, he threw it in the air with an agile tail movement and with a punch he sent it to the ground.
"A monster that uses light attacks ..." Gilbert said thoughtfully. "That's impossible. Nantensou has never promoted such an element."
He frowned in annoyance and growled no doubt louder than Layset's.
"Your ball may be weird, but it's not up to my Caleon," he said pointing at Gary with his finger. "Lick!"

It was not an exaggeration what Gilbert said, Layset was level 1 and Caleon was level 6, the difference was small in numbers, but considerable in statistics. Gary clenched his fist, not sure what to do, looked towards the area of the support tiles and realized that he had no alternative. If he wanted to win, he had to do it himself.
Caleon let out an absurdly long pink tongue from his mouth, enveloping Layset and lifting him to drop, then delivered several quick blows with the tip. The Layset life points down to just over half, but it could be considered a critical moment.
This attack let Gary see that Caleon possessed the elements Aqua and Shadow.
"Layset, use ...!" Before Gary could command Layset stood up angrily.
Layset assumed his spherical form once more and shot up into the air to crash down on Caleon. This power was "Tackling" as Gary could see, and it had an effect that was extremely useful to him.
Tackling consisted of a physical blow that delayed the cooldown of all the opponent's powers by three seconds. The time seemed tiny, but a difference of a second could define the combat.
Gary was motivated by the events, two rounds of support tokens had passed and he hadn't used any. If he was honest he had no idea how to play that way, his strength was his agility with his hands and his ability to break defenses and cause states to enemies to finish off with a power. Now everything depended on his mental speed, and it was not that he was short of it, but that his monster did not allow him to strategize.
Mental note: practice duels with large-scale local connection and make the damn egg obey him.
He would certainly do so when he got home.
Layset spent a long time exchanging blows with Caleon, his tail was iron when it came to attacking, but Caleon was much more agile and his power was greater. If the pointy-nosed ball didn't use its elemental attack power, it would do little damage to the opponent. Unfortunately for Gary, Layset was still on his own.
About ten seconds after being Tackled, Gilbert took a deep breath.
"You've put up a good fight, kid," he said with a smile. "But it's time for you to kneel before the power of Vinra."
He grasped his neuro link with one hand and reached out with the other toward his monster, then propelled another forward alongside the first, as if holding a ball of growing energy between his hands. It looked like he was going to shoot a bolt of lightning that would destroy Freez… Gary.
"Now what?" He sighed within himself with obvious disinterest. "A kamehameha?"
"Caleon, use 'Spinning Drop.'"
Caleon used his tongue to grab Layset and send him upward, then leaped next to him and began to roll in the air with surprising speed. As the force of gravity dragged him to the ground, Caleon scrambled to his feet on Layset's back, hurtling down on him. The sound was thunderous.
SUPER EFFECTIVE. Gary clicked his tongue.
Gilbert was sure of his victory until he saw his opponent bite the air as if devouring a piece of meat. If he allowed himself to be poetic, he would say that between his teeth the smoke emitted from his red body of heat escaped.
He backed away without understanding it, but when he noticed the presence of the white ball still on the field, he knew that something had not gone as expected.
"Your 'Kame-hame-BUAAAA' is not enough to destroy me," he said the latter, exaggerating both the words and his expression. It was a mockery that accompanied his evil eyes and sinister smile. "Don't think you can defeat me ... 'Doku'. Tremble at the power of Marx, the legendary."
"How is it possible?"
"Active 'Sanctuary of the Divine Light User,'" he yelled excitedly, "Dispel a third of the damage Layset takes."
His monster's life points were in critical condition, but that token had been all he needed to turn the fight around. While Layset was stunned from the blow, Gary was turned on by the thrill of the duel. It was his turn to shine.
"Caleon, attack," Gilbert yelled in exasperation.
"Moon Healing!" Gary activated another of his tokens while pointing the palm of his hand at his immobile monster "Full!"
It was a low rarity token that healed monsters' status problems. Layset was no longer stunned.
From the time that the combat had lasted he had learned a few things:
First, his monster was a useless ball.
Second, his opponent did not use support tokens.
Third, Caleon had as much advantage over him as vice versa.
"Light is super effective against Shadow, Light is super effective against Heavy," he mused.
Layset used 'Glow Tail' once more against Caleon until his points were below half. Another blow from either of them would define the duel.
"This…" Gary stared in amazement at the next token to appear.
Could it be your chance? Looking at Layset's pattern, which was none, the probability that he would land a light power in the next two minutes was almost one hundred percent. He smirked.
Layset regained some life points.
"How come you're not nearly dead anymore?"
"The Sanctuary of the Divine Light User recovers five percent of my monster's maximum health every second for five seconds," Gary explained with a confident pose.
"I ... I refuse to lose ..." Gilbert whispered, clenching his fists. "Caleon uses Water Jet."
"Active 'Grail of Divine Skywalker'" Gary rushed forward knowing what was to come next.
Disregarding a token that apparently had no damaging effect, Gilbert ordered the use of "Water Jet." The attack caused Layset to lose life, but not enough, his strategy was to cause as much damage as possible while the cooldown of 'Spinning Fall' elapsed.
"Use 'Colazo'" Gilbert's commands were getting more aggressive, and he was looking at Gary as if he were watching the death of the most terrible criminal.
When the environment was calm he was perplexed to see two luminous spheres floating around Layset.
"Still," Gilbert said, "I won't lose to a Monster Tamer who doesn't know how to raise his monster properly!"
He repeated the attacks one after another until the cooldown time did not allow him to use anything else.
"This will help keep you busy," Gary commented with an expression so grim it chilled the skin. "I use 'Shining Knight's Cloak' and increase Layset's defensive stats by 1.5 percent."
The token was effective, the numbers seemed poor, but multiplying a monster's stats was to be feared. One point could make the difference, and Gary knew a lot about that from the Pyro Simbol gacha game for terminal -Nii mobile device-, its name was "Pyro Simbol Champions", where you obtained heroes from each of the stories in the saga through invocations. It was a strategy game where whoever had the best statistics, even if only by one point, had the advantage.
Gary sighed as he remembered the headaches the game had given him.
After each attack that Gilbert launched, a sphere was added around Layset, who survived with very few points. Then Gary started laughing like a madman.
"The time has come to show you ... the despair of defeat," he pointed out. "My 'Grail of the Divine Skywalker' places a luminous charge for each attack Layset receives.
"Every attack?!"
"With a maximum of seven charges," Gary explained. "Then it transforms 'em into pure elemental damage, multiplying two percent elemental damage for each charge. My next attack of light will send you to the alley of Tokyo Onless where you came from.
If everything went as planned, Layset would use "Glow Tail" and it would all be over.
The egg rose with anger running through its body, it was undoubtedly very angry. He walked over to midfield and began to carry something Gary hadn't anticipated. Layset's body filled with light and the white particles rose up just like when Gary visited the other world. For a moment he felt nostalgia wash over him, and the overwhelming pressure he felt on himself rose next to the lights.
Layset extended his front legs, letting a blast wave of light invade the room, crashing into Caleon and knocking him out.
"Shining... pulse"
It was the only power Gary hadn't noticed, an area elemental power.

SUPER EFFECTIVE
COMBAT OVER
He was relieved at the victory and smiled in a more relaxed way this time.
"Well, it's time to fulfill the pact," he told Gilbert who was kneeling on the ground. "Your tokens are mine now."
"Never ..." Gilbert whispered. "Never!"
"Huh?"
Gary was upset, the bets were honored. A man who did not keep his word was not a man. The subject prepared to fight hand to hand, Gary just let the air out of his lungs with amusement.
"Another client for Grandpa, I guess," he thought with a shrug.
He approached Layset earnestly and looked at him. Then he tilted his head to the side.
"TIGER SHOT!"
After shouting that, he kicked Layset that ended up crashing into Gilbert's face, who fell to the ground unconscious. He loved using that technique. Actually, it was about football, not about combat, but it was always good to know a little about everything.
When the man who showed it to him asked what he felt when he performed it, he could only describe it as "Woosh" "Pam" "Swash" and "a huge tiger attacking on the extension of my leg".
He took Gilbert's token holder and put it in his backpack, made sure everything was in order, and felt for the USB he had taken from Mario's computer. Before he could get out of there, he heard a flying vehicle land nearby, the wind it was raising was terrible. He hid.
"What is this?"
"Another bloody criminal."
"They should give the order to burn this stinking pit. Why is Leader Franks so obsessed with this pile of garbage?"
"Apparently looking for a new promise for this year's tournament."
"Everyone knows that the 'Colored Girl' will be the winner."
"I think the 'Tamer of the Skies' has a better chance."
"Come on, come on! There is work. The faster we do it, the sooner we can eliminate all this 'surplus'"
Members of the Containment Force took Gilbert and dropped charges of C4 on the walls closest to the door, then left.
Gary stepped out the back, barely able to jump out onto the street to escape the blast. Those words kept echoing in his head.
"¿Grim Franks is looking for something ... or someone?"

I choose you, new connection!

Those had been the last words in Grim Franks's speech that morning; right before the First Space Earthquake tore apart Noratris from end to end.

Now a cyber paradise in its entirety, Noratris was ruled by the new monster summoning sports game Shoukanjuu, where only those with outstanding performance had the right to live in the great metropolis.

The Shoukanjuu had become a way of life imposed by the fierce Nantensou company, the current ambitious and dominating giant of the masses that held a sinister secret in its hands.

Willing to expose each of Nantensou's dirty purposes, Gary Bynum, a young man whose aspirations were not far from the word HERO, ventures into the cyber world; however, when a storm of strange proportions destroys part of Noratris' foundations, he is forced to make a trip full of surprises for him that will take him to the deepest and most putrid of the society in which he lives.

Forced to fight in the Shoukanjuu as a method of survival, he will find himself involved in the mysteries that Layset brings with him, the monster who unconsciously guides him towards the rebirth of a lost era in its own history.

Before, the scheduler could do something, it was already too late.  The protection barrier was completely broken and a giant monster ghost stood infront of them. The monster ghost was extremely scary and his face was stricken with several sword cuts. His one of the eye balls looked completely white and his teeth are gnashed. The scheduler was extremely panicked because this is the first time, he encountered such a scary evil ghost. He almost wet his pants but on seeing that there is a girl behind him, he tried to act brave. Even Adhira's heart almost dropped into her hand this time.
The evil ghost stared at them intently for so long... He suddenly smiled cruelly noticing that there are two creatures in its territory and it has been so long since he killed someone. His body was craving desperately for some murder and luckily two souls walked into the devil's den.
"What should we do now ?", Adhira murmured.
"How do I know ??", scheduler responded irritatingly.
"Aren't you a scheduler ?"
"Yes I am...but my class skills are not cultivated to handle the evil ghosts. If it's not for you messing around, we might never be in this situation in the first place", he cursed.
"You must be a poor student then !!", she replied nonchalant.
"............."
What kind of conclusion is that ? He is a new scheduler...that's why his skills are not upgraded. Okay ?? He wanted to show off his skills infront of her, but the current situation is not good. So, he remained calm. "Don't worry too much !! I already informed my mentor and he will be here in any moment", he assured.
Originally, Adhira was really scared and thought that they haven't got any other way to save themselves.But, now that the scheduler said that his mentor is coming, she calmed her nerves.
When giant monster started walking close to them, the scheduler suddenly changed his position. He went and hid behind Adhira.
Adhira: "..........."
Isn't a man supposed to save a woman ?
Scheduler : " Fantasies and stupid novels have created a stereotypical male lead phenomenon. Every girl in this world expect a prince charming to come and save her", he whispered cursing his fate. "That's why I like super women !!"
Adhira : ".......". This man is surely nuts !! No other adjective could define his current state of mind.
"Stop it Adhira !! Now you must delay as much time as you can, before the mentor arrives", she thought inwardly.
The scary ghost bent down and his face was close to Adhira's face. The little girl's puppy eyes looked alluring and shining bright. The ghost killed previously several vicious ghosts but this little ghost looked pretty and beautiful. He couldn't kill her instantly and slowly his murderous aura subsided.
Upon noticing the sudden gentleness, Adhira beamed with happiness and shouted, "Handsome brother !!"
Scary ghost : "............"
Scheduler : "............"
'In which particular angle do you see that evil scary monster to be handsome ? Don't tell me that along with amnesia,she suffers from night blindness', he wondered inwardly.
The evil ghost was pleasantly surprised when he heard the little girl's yelling. A tiny blush appeared on his scary face....
Scheduler : "What the..."
Till now, he used to assume that it's hard for men to withstand a pretty girl's flirting. But, he is wrong !!  Whether you are a living being or an evil ghost, no man can withstand girl's praises.

Hearing the loud scream Aditya rushed to the bedroom and asked in panic, “What happened?”
“The light in this floor is not working. It’s too dark”
So ?
“I am scared of darkness. Don’t you know that ghosts exist in darkness”
So ?
“I am scared of ghosts, you know !!”
Adithya: “……………”

This is probably the first time in the history where a ghost forgets herself as a ghost and scared of ghosts

The Dungeon had taken on a completely different appearance with the upgrade of the Dungeon Core. Before, the hallways were cave tunnels, irregular and confusing. Now, they looked like the hallways of a palace. The ground was paved with marble and the walls were an off-white color supported by luxurious looking wooden beams. Each chamber was divided by sturdy and tall doors that, despite their appearance, were easy to open and close.

Somnus realized then that the entire Dungeon was supported by the Dungeon Core; everything within it, including the environment itself, was a result of the Dungeon Core's abilities.

"What is a Reclaimer?" Somnus asked the Dungeon Core.

Strangely enough, there was no reply.

Somnus narrowed his eyes. Could it be that because the Dungeon Core upgraded that it didn't care about Somnus anymore?

Casually, he stabbed the Dungeon Core with his beam sword. The plasma-like blade pierced straight through the crystal.

"What is a Reclaimer? Acknowledge."

Still, there was no reply. Was the Dungeon Core asleep? Somnus tilted his head, contemplating that Dungeon Core's state.

"Reclaimers were an old Order, created by the Gods. This was more than a thousand years ago, but back then, the Gods created several Orders and empowered them to fight against the Destroyer's Avatar,"

Somnus looked to Arcadia and narrowed his eyes. "What was the purpose of Reclaimers?"

Arcadia pondered. "No one really knows for sure anymore. The last Reclaimers disappeared almost five centuries ago, when they performed a Heroic Summon to defeat the World Boss. It is popular belief that they plundered Dungeons and the distant continents, searching for artifacts and treasures of the previous civilizations."

Somnus nodded slowly. "Apparently, this unit is a Reclaimer now."

Arcadia tilted her head, "This unit? Wait, you mean you are a Reclaimer?"

Somnus nodded. "The Mana Technician Job gave me the Reclaim skill. I desire a True Divination from the Dungeon Core to find out more."

Arcadia sighed and shook her head. The first Hero class in a thousand years, the first Mana Knight in centuries, the first Reclaimer in centuries… how many more absurd abilities will Somnus get? It was as if the Gods wanted to shower this entity with power and gifts, but do the Gods not understand that Somnus is not their ally? Somnus is the greatest threat this world has ever faced—possibly greater than the Destroyer himself.

Arcadia fell to her knees. She was ready to give up—no, she had given up a long time ago.

Emily placed a hand on Arcadia's shoulder and murmured, "Are you all right, Arcadia?"

Arcadia just sighed at the question.

Before she could answer, the richly adorned double doors leading to the Inner Sanctum opened violently.

"Master! It is great trouble!" It was Lod, the goblin who promised to return with treasures.

"Where is my tribute, designation Lod?" Somnus asked, cutting straight to the point.

"Master, please forgives me for returning empty-handed! But it is huge problem! Goblins cannot work!" Lod spoke in a more broken form of the human language than he usually does.

"Define problem. Comply," Somnus said.

"We goblins go to lowest level of dungeon! We finds ore! Orichalcum, Argentmetal, Mithril, Starstone. Lots of ore! Great treasures!" Lod spoke, eyes clouded by terror.

Somnus was about ready to break out the interrogation methods if Lod didn't get to the point soon.

"But then great evil devours goblins! Goblins cannot work!"

Somnus wondered why Lod only spoke about the goblins. When the monsters left the Inner Sanctum, there was a huge variety of them, including a young dragon. Was this monster racism?

"Define great evil," Somnus said.

"Master… it is Nezaras of the Empty Chalice," Lod replied with a hushed tone.

"What!?" Arcadia blurted out, wide-eyed.

Emily looked at Arcadia. "You recognize the name?"

Arcadia became pale as a ghost. "Nezaras… is the Heroic Summon from five centuries ago…"

Emily tilted her head, "I thought his name was Sarazen… oh. Nezaras is Sarazen backwards…"

Somnus followed the conversation quietly, and when it seemed to have stopped progressing, he inquired. "Define threat level. Comply."

Arcadia looked to Somnus and licked her lips. "Four hundred fifty years ago, a World Boss appeared. The last Reclaimers used several ancient treasures to perform a Heroic Summon. They called forth a soul from the distant past and had it possess the most powerful adventurer of that time, an attack mage called Sarazen."

Emily nodded. She heard this story as well, it was quite famous.

"When Sarazen defeated the World Boss, the heroic soul disappeared. Sarazen lost much of his powers because of this. As the years went by, he coveted his former status, until finally, he made pacts with the Heralds of the Destroyer. He became corrupted and desired even more power. He killed the last Reclaimers, attempting to steal their artifacts, but he himself was also gravely injured. After that, he disappeared from the world. To think that he was here this entire time…"

Emily tilted her head, "I never heard that part of the story."

Arcadia nodded, "The Faith has kept it secret. In fact, it was my mission to investigate potential clues that could lead to Sarazen. That is what led me to Somnus in the first place."

Emily raised an eyebrow, "Why were you looking for Sarazen after all these years?"

"The Empty Chalice… his title refers to the Chalice of the First Tear. He stole it from the Reclaimers," Arcadia explained.

Emily seemed even more confused.

"In the ancient days, when the first Hero and Lover of Kion died, Kion shed a single tear. The tear fell upon the ground and it impacted with the force of a falling star, creating a small crater. It was shaped like a chalice and it was made out of Godmetal. Anyone who drinks blessed water from the Chalice will have all of their injuries, no matter the nature, completely healed. It can potentially even extend the lifespan of those who carry it." Arcadia explained.

Emily rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "You are looking for the Chalice, then?"

Arcadia nodded her head. "The Sword of the Divine is dying. The Archlector has tasked me, and many others, to look for the Chalice."

Somnus narrowed his eyes, "It is awfully convenient that you, of all people, found it."

Arcadia and Emily were shocked by Somnus's words. Often, he spoke in a manner not so different from his old self, but then sometimes, he spoke in a very human, and very malevolent, manner.

"Define location of Nezaras," Somnus said, focusing on Lod who had been quietly listening and waiting for assistance.

"Master, follows me! I shows you the way!"

"Somnus, you can't! This is a former Heroic Summon! We have to ask for help!" Arcadia pleaded.

"Request denied," Somnus said pacing towards Lod.

"My Lord, Arcadia is right. It is suicide. He may even be a Herald of the Destroyer now," Emily said. She was against the decision to go after the former Heroic Summon, but she nonetheless followed Somnus.

"Negative. Suicide is self-inflicted termination. Designation Nezaras is forbidden from performing suicide. Require subject to be operational in order to perform weapon tests."

Both Emily and Arcadia were shocked by how unreasonable Somnus was.

"Master is great speaker! Master defeat Nezaras. Nezaras is dead meat. Meat for goblins!" Lod cackled maniacally, rubbing his goblin hands together. "Unless... master is hungry too… of course… then goblins go hungry… again."
