A brain storming session were my readers can comment on my ideas with their own suggestions

Relaxing on the hawk throne, I was grateful that Anton had added the cushioning charm to make the chair more comfortable. Tapping my fingers thoughtfully on the cover of my journal, starting with the question I considered most important, I questioned, "Is it possible to change the future?"

Taken aback at the questions, Anton narrowed his eyes and studied the serious look on my face and carefully responded, "That depends on what type of knowledge of the future you have. For the most part, knowledge of the future comes in two different varieties, Prophecies and visions."

Confused, I asked, "Aren't those the same thing."

Shaking his head, he clarified, "There are huge differences between prophecies and visions. A vision is about a possible future, if you know what's coming, you can begin to make changes, but you have to remember, the more you change, the more the outcome is changed as well. It could even change to the point where you have no idea what is going to happen. On the other hand, a prophecy is different; it's impossible to change a prophecy."

"But, if you know the future, shouldn't you be able to circumvent the prophecy." I stubbornly argued. 

Shaking his head, he responded, "That's not how it works, look a vision can be changed because it is only one possible future based on people's most likely actions, but there are still many different choices people could make that could lead to a different outcome. A prophecy is only issued when every possible future leads to a certain event. No matter what choice you make, the ending is always the same. That is why prophecies are rare. Think about how many different choices people make. Now imagine that every possible path leads to the same conclusion. That is why it's impossible to change prophecies."

Nodding my understanding, I clarified, "So if I theoretically knew of some deaths of people I wanted to save, I would need to wait till the last minute to save them. Otherwise, if I take action too early, the future could change in such a way that I would have no idea what was going to happen."

He shrugged and replied, That would be your best bet, but trying to change the future can be frustrating at best, there has been plenty of wizards, who drove themselves mad trying to manage the future."

Opening my journal to the first page, I found two names staring back at me, Cedric Diggory, and Sirius Black. I sure that there were others that Voldemort and his followers killed, but for the life of me, I didn't remember their names. While my memory of this life was nearly perfect, the memories of my previous life have been fading, it's like trying to remember a dream, its easy to remember the dream, but the details become fuzzy.

The most important name on my list is Cedric's name, if I can't save my best friend, then what the hell is the point of knowing about the future. As much as I would like to help Sirius get out of prison, I can't risk changing anything that will put the knowledge of the future at risk. Otherwise, Wormtail will kill Cedric in our sixth year during the Triwizard tournament.

Burying my guilt towards Sirius, I consoled myself that I would take action to make sure he didn't die early. Realizing that I hadn't spoken anything for several minutes, I moved on to other topics that I needed to be clarified.

Deciding to tackle a problem that I had been trying to think of a solution for, I asked, "Do you know anything about the magical trace that gets put on underage wizards when they start school?

Stroking his beard eyes twinkling, he replied, "Ah, the trace, it was a controversial topic in my day, the trace was one of the main reasons why I resigned from the council. That's when I saw the writing on the wall; the council was changing. We went from almost no interference in wizarding lives to hexing and tracking our children. A few years after I resigned, the council was dissolved, and the Ministry of Magic took its place, and I'll bet it's only gotten worse. Although even I have to admit, they figured out a clever way to implement to hex."

Wanting to avoid the trace if possible, I asked eagerly, "How does it get put on?"

Smirking at me, he taunted, "I'll give you a hint; it's something that every underage wizard goes through. Let's see if you can guess what it is."


Running over everything, I've learned about this world, both from the books and over everything I've learned over the last ten years. I guessed, "Does it happen when you buy your first wand."

Grinning at me, he replied, "Not a bad guess, but no, it has to do with your invitation to Hogwarts. The invitation is a magically binding agreement when you send the reply that you will be attending, you must sign your name. That is how the trace gets attached. Every wizard must be very careful when signing magical documents; if a hex or a curse is attached, it is exceedingly difficult to break. The reason why it's so difficult is that if someone willingly signs their name to something, it allows the magic to sink deep within them. Besides, I imagine that if you can break the trace, the Ministry would find out almost immediately, the better way would be to trick it somehow temporarily."

Seeing my disgruntled stare, he consoled me, "But I don't think you need to worry about the trace too much, It is mainly used to track magic out in the muggle world. As long as you are on our property, they wouldn't be able to tell it was you that cast the spell."

We continued to speak over questions and ideas that I had until I realized that I had away from home for most of the day, and my mother was probably about to send out a search party. Reassuring Anton that I would be back soon, I left the tower to head home. 

In the following months, I spent every free moment I had at the tower. One of my favorite spots in the tower was on the third floor. Where there was a library containing Anton's collection of books. 

While I was glad to be able to read more books containing magic, most were useless without a wand. What good was a book of spells, that required a wizard to have a wand?


Before I knew it, the fall of 88 had arrived, and I turned 11, knowing that Hogwarts was less than a year away. I redoubled my efforts at trying to learn all I could, it was slow going, but I was confident that I would probably be one of the most prepared first-year students to attend Hogwarts in a while. 

A few weeks after my birthday, I was watching the twins run around the house. They never seemed to run out of energy. Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I turned to see my father standing behind me. He made a motion with his head, indicating I should follow him.

After arriving at his study, he found his way to his favorite brown recliner. He motioned for me to take a seat, sitting across from him. We sat in silence, the only noise being the pop and crackle from a small fireplace. Knowing that my father would speak once he was ready, so I just enjoyed sitting with him. 

In a low voice, he said, "You know, you'll be leaving us next year for Hogwarts, So I was hoping to spend more time with you before you left. It seems like I've barely seen you over this last year. I was hoping you might want to start coming to the workshop with me."

A pang of guilt flashed through me, regarding how much time I've spent at the tower lately. 

He continued, "I know you normally spend your mornings with either your grandmother or your mom learning. But, I thought that it's high time for me to do my part in your education. No son of mine isn't going to excel at charm-work and enchanting." After looking around to make sure Leaning in close, he whispered, "Your mother and I have a little bet going on about what will be your favorite subject, charm-work, or potions. She keeps on bragging about how much of a head start she has, considering that she has spent years teaching you all about potions. But I'm confident that my workshop will lure you into the wonderful world of enchanting, by the time I'm through showing you how everything works, I sure potions will seem rather tame."

Ecstatic that I would finally be allowed to go to the workshop where he did all his charm work. I eagerly responded, "Nothing would make me happier; I have always wanted to see how you make everything in the shop."

The next day at breakfast, mom eyed me suspiciously, while dad smugly sipped his coffee. The twins, oblivious to the silent competition going on between mom and dad, started complaining that they didn't want to begin schooling with grandmother. I winced, feeling sorry for them, as their hands were destined to cramp up, trying to meet grandmother's calligraphy standards.

When breakfast was finished, we used the floo network to travel to Fawley Wondrous Enchantments in Diagon Alley. The front of the shop was full of enchanted items, on one side of the shop where larger things like magical tents, vanishing cabinets, school trunks enchanted with various spells woven into them. On the other were smaller, more delicate pieces, such as mirrors, clocks, and other small household items. 


Seeing the front of the shop was always exciting, but I had never been to the basement where he enchanted everything. Heading downstairs, we came to a massive steel door containing our family's crest. He pulled out his wand and tapped the stars seven times in what seemed like a random pattern. Once he finished, the door swung open, showing a vast rectangular workshop. Tables lined the walls, full of items, and knickknacks that he was working on. 

 The middle of the workshop was empty except for a table in the very center, surrounding the table was a large circle etched into the stone floor. After studying the strange loop for a moment, I turned to my dad and asked, "What is the circle for."

Seeing what my attention was focused on, He responded, "That a protective warding spell I cast so that I can experiment with new spells and enchantments inside safely. You have to be careful when doing experimental enchantments; if you mess up your charm work, there is a chance for the results to be rather explosive."

Eager to see how objects were enchanted, I asked, "Are you working on anything new right now." 

Popping open his briefcase, he reached in and pulled out some old parchment and replied."Well, that's what I was hoping to show you, recently at your grandmother's, I came across some old drawings of your grandfather's work that he had been working on outside the warehouse."

Looking over the parchment, I saw several sketched broomstick designs on the parchment. Confused, I asked, "I thought all grandfather's work had burned up in the fire or had been stolen by Whithorn."

In a somber tone, he replied, "I think that these were some ideas for future designs that he drew at home but never got to take them to the warehouse. This may have been one of the last things my father worked on. I was hoping that we could work on it as a project as father and son."

In my mind, I began imagining how we were finally going to take down Whithorn and the Nimbus Racing Company, finally getting revenge for my grandfather. Eagerly I asked, "Can we be finished before I go to Hogwarts next year?"

As soon as I asked the question, dad started shaking his head. He replied, "There's no way we could have it finished before you leave for Hogwarts. Designing a quality broomstick isn't as simple as putting charms onto a broom and flying off into the sunset. Many standard charms don't last very long, to make charms last longer. Enchanters often have to design variations of the charm, to see what is most effective. That's why there is such a variation in the quality of brooms. My father spent years designing custom charms for his design. If there weren't any variation in spells, all flying broomsticks would be equal. If we want to build a broom that can beat the nimbus, we'll have to start from scratch, not to mention, brooms have dozens of spells laid into them, so we will have our work cut out for us. There are other factors as well such as materials, matching the best type of wood to charms can be tricky, one variation of a spell may work great with one kind of wood, but perform differently in another type. It will take years for us to build a broom better than the nimbus. After all, they have a twenty-year head start on us if we want to make a broom faster than theirs, we will have to get creative. 

Hearing the magnitude of the project didn't sway me at all. I would do anything, to get revenge for the pain and suffering Whithorn has put my family through, I would go to the ends of the earth. Growing up without a family in my previous life has made me realize that the most precious thing in my life was my family. May God have mercy on anyone who dares to harm my family, because they will get none from me.

Wanting to banish the violent train of thought my mind was wandering down, I asked, "what are we going to name it?"

With a wistful smile, Dad responded, "When I was young, dad always said he was going to make a broom that could shoot across the sky like a bolt of fire. What do you think about naming it the firebolt?"

I need to listen to music in order to work usually I'm writing romance stories so I listen to the type of songs that have love in the meaning with the lyrics and tune and it helps me come up with new ideas. Tho I must say it doesn't always protect you from writers block which i have dealt with a few times while typing out my thoughts and creative story ideas. I finished writing the basics of the EXP system, and now stuck in the elemental system (almost done, but need some creative ideas!)

Voidne is the unluckiest person in the world.  Just like his mother, he needs to work 5 times harder than normal people, just to achieve the same thing.

But one day the unlucky Voidne crossed through a wormhole by a mistake, that sent him into a parallel universe to occupy the body of the Voidne from that universe.

The new parallel universe was more advanced, and a new game was about to get released.  It was a VRMMORPG, that is going to be super popular.  Even companies were going to fight over occupying this game.

Voidne who was the unluckiset person in the world, is now the luckiest person in the world...

After Flora logged into the workshop, she dumped the books in a corner and set up the page-turner.
Taking a sip from the Potions Guzzler, she returned to the still running simulation grounds. 
In the morning, she had forgotten to check on the Blade-Rollers. The poor robots were both in bad shape. One showed severe damage through overheating, the other had four ruptured appendages, and both of their sawblades were blunt.
"Mine is the broken one, Milady. I pushed the movement and rammed a few trees. Aitoshuri did several long term tests. I'll transmit her data to you."
A row of stats appeared on Flora's HUD. Running continuously, the sawblades worked up to two minutes on their highest setting before overheating and half an hour in their lowest setting. Not bad, not bad at all. 
"Outstanding job."

Flora returned to her workbench to work on the octopus. Now she had a pretty good picture of the joints and the motors for them. 
She decided to equip two of the tentacles with tools as tips. With a heavy heart, she sacrificed one of her two Doom-Moon multitools and a knife/bender/gripper hybrid for the other arm. 
The octopus should not only help her with crafting but also with fighting. Laser eyes were an absolute classic. She browsed the doom moon laser-turret manuals and the marketplace for ideas and appropriate parts.
Now, she had included all the functions she wanted. 
Next came the fun parts. 
Rationality told Flora to armor the octopus, but thinking about Aitoshuri's needs and real-life octopuses, she had a better idea: Display fabrics!
These fabrics could change their colors to such a degree, that they were used as TV-Screens. The military used them for camouflage and the fashion industry for special effects.
Her drawn picture with notes finished, she started to build the robot.
Mainly, she used the tier-1 materials from Doom Moon. Unfortunately, she couldn't create a whole laser system with them, so she had to substitute with tier-0 materials, that was also the case for the casing with the display-fabric.
With more efficient motors, she solved the worst of her energy problems, but her plans for skin and the laser eyes had thrown her back. She splurged on a high-efficiency mana battery that Aitoshuri could hoard mana while not working and use it for high-load phases.
The octopussy quickly took shape: Eight limbs equally spaced around a roundish head. For the eyes, Flora found some cute heart-shaped laser crystals and immediately bought them.
Comparing her creation to a picture of an actual octopus, she decided to stay more on the cartoonish side of design and forwent the beak and the mouth opening at the bottom. The ability to spew poisonous ink would be awesome, but she had enough on her plate for the first version - maybe in the future.
An easy solution would be using toxic materials for the tentacles. Aitoshuri could hug her opponents to death!
Flora experimented with fusing the toxic waste and the hull material of the Doom Moon and came up with suitable material. It wasn't as strong as the pure material, but she liked the toxic effect.
Suddenly she got another idea. What if she could integrate a kind of inventory space, so Aitoshuri could pick up and store things directly? Flora had disliked stooping down in the sewers and collecting dead creatures like the kingators. 
After a quick research, she found a solution. Unfortunately, robots couldn't have a separate inventory. You either could include ordinary bags, or you could give them an access slot to your own inventory. When Flora thought about it for a bit, she realized that the latter had advantages as well. Flora included the inventory-access under the head.
'We'll see how it works out.'
Finally, she finished the design.

Flora burned to print the robot!  But she refrained from it because it would be a great project to inaugurate her very own printer. 

The next idea came to Flora when she thought about what to do subsequently. Flora whistled. She was on a creative streak! 
In the martial arts classes, the other students had their pets on the walls of the room. She could use the page-turner and let Aitoshuri read.
Envisioning the mountain of books and the page-turner amidst wolves and tigers, she decided to build a library container. She could hide all the bad romance in it, and nobody would see the books! That alone was reason enough!
Another 3x3x3m Container took form. This time, Flora inserted shelves and the page-turner and gave it four extendable legs to save space in the classroom. She connected the page-turner and the container, no need to waste mana and nocks on two devices when one could do the job.
On the outer casing, she air-brushed a shelf with old books and the inside brown and orange grained. She added a light and a long grappler that the AIs could fetch their books themselves from the shelves.

Flora beamed to the Riverstones HQ to print it. 
While waiting for the printer to complete its job, Svetlana entered the building.
"Hello, Auntie Flora!" Svetlana greeted her. "Thank you for the funding. We used it to upgrade the printer, among other things."
"No problem, dear. Everything that is mine is Robby's anyway." Flora looked at the printer and felt a pang of conscience. "In a few hours, I'll get my own printer. Of course, I want to update it as well. Should I update yours to 'S' first?"
Svetlana coughed. "The update to S is very hard. Don't underestimate it! And to be honest, we have no funds for it at the moment. Of course, we aspire to have an S-rated printer long-term, so your help will be appreciated."
"Sure, and meanwhile, you can use my printer if you want that extra quality. I'm moving to a new lair, and the printer will be in a separate hall from my living quarters, so you can visit anytime without intruding."
"I never heard from someone who upgraded their printer alone. You can hire other crafters to register their blueprints on your printer. The price for an S-rated blueprint is 1000 VirDos."
Now, it was Flora's time to splutter.  "Just for registering? Not the blueprint itself?"
"Right. You didn't know?" Svetlana scratched her head. "Well, we wouldn't pay you money, but you would get lots of contributions points. I already sent you some for the upgrade to A. 
*Bleep*! I forgot to send you the voucher for hiring squats! I'm sorry Auntie, the last week was at the same time hellish with the new employees and heavenly because of all the excitement about my rising synchronization!
I'm now at 69% and hit a ceiling. Do you have any advice?"
"Have you tried using different bodyparts?"
Svetlana stared at her frowning. "What do you mean by body parts?"
The printing of the Library-Container finished. 
Flora signaled Lana to wait a moment while she logged into the workshop and looked through her cloud-drive. 
'Where is the Stehaufmaennchen?'
After she recovered the file, she ordered the printing.
She joined Lana and watched the candy cane alike structure being built.
"I designed this tumbler for training my sync. When you hit it, it will bounce back." Flora pointed at the colorful stripes. "You can aim at the blue band with knee, yellow with your elbow. On the top are some smaller dots to hit with your finger. Try it first when it is standing still after that when it is swaying. Don't forget to train to aim with your butt and bosom, as well. You never know when you need fine control in these areas!" 
"That's handy! I saw the tumbler at the forum a view hours ago!
It's a new item in the Cetviwos-Shop. Guess they directly used the rights they bought from you."
"Oh, well. I don't expect much sales from such a simple gizmo." She looked at it. "I could add a feature that gives you challenges, lighting up some of the rings and a body part, and you get points for hitting it correctly. And you wouldn't have to announce the moves to the System." Flora grinned. Yes, she was on a creative fire! "Would you be interested in such a device, or is it too much pressure?"
"My old job consisted of disarming bombs. I'll be damned if a *bleep*ing tumbler pressured me!"
"Give me 10 minutes!" 
Flora logged back into the workshop and took a sip from a mana potion.
'Cables, L.E.D.s, sensors, a display, a mana-plate, and a control box, and we are ready to go!'
First, she put an L.E.D behind every stripe and dot of the tumbler.  Then she sculpted a human doll that looked a bit like Svetlana, marked the body-parts, put lights behind them, and put it at the top of the pole. 
At the base, she installed the display and a big 'Start'-Button.
Then she wired everything to the box. 
Flora realized that it was the first time she had to program a control box. Until now, she had cheated with using the AIs to control the devices.
Thankfully, the programming was more like putting phrases together than actually writing the code: 
Define zone_x: Where the color of the pole is the same in the region of L.E.D_x.
Define bodypart_y: To the lit doll body part corresponding body part of the player.
At Button press:
Light up one random L.E.D_x of group tumbler-lights. 
Light up one random L.E.D_y of group doll-lights.
Wait 5 seconds or until Hit in L.E.D zone_y with bodypart_y.
When Hit: Counter +1.
Show counter.
Repeat 10 times.
When Flora checked the time, she realized that she had only needed 6 minutes. So she added a menu-button and up and down arrows for adjusting the time for the hit and the number of rounds.
Flora rechecked everything, shrugged, and ordered to print it two times.
It was a bit rough, but that was normal for a prototype for proof of concept.

Back in the bamboo hut, Flora found Lana training with the original tumbler and explained to her the game.
When the devices finished printing, they occupied different corners of the hut and started playing.
In the first round, Flora got an easy move: The head of the doll lit up and a stripe near the top. She headbutted the tumbler for her first point.
The next round left her slack-jawed: Left knee to the stripe directly beneath the doll. That was at the height of 1,70m!
Flora to Aidan: "Remind me to make two areas that we can match only the upper body limbs to the high zones of the pole. Maybe implement two game variants, one for gymnasts and one for normal people."
<Power-Jump>!
While Flora hit the pole, she missed the right zone by a hairbreadth. Admittingly a very corse hair, more a dreadlock than natural hair.
The next few rounds went uneventful. Only when the pole wanted from Flora to hit one of the small dots with her elbow, she took another note.
Flora to Aidan: "More mid-sized zones would be helpful as well. Maybe we quarter one of the cylindric stripes at hip-height in rectangles."
After Flora completed the game with a score of 9, she watched Lana finishing her round. Her counter showed 12, but Flora didn't know how many times she had failed. She added it to the improvement list.
Lana's movement looked fluent, and she aggressively attacked the tumbler.  The weird jerkiness was gone, but a bit of skittishness remained.
"So, what do you think? Any suggestions?"
"I *bleep*ing adore it and don't want to stop! But two issues caught my eyes: A finger lit up, and it took me a while to identify which finger because the light spread. The other thing is, I haven't even played five minutes and a quarter of its durability is already gone. My strength isn't that high. If someone with a lot of physical power plays this game, the tumbler will be kaput in no time."
"Good points! The solution for the first one is easy, but I don't know about the second one. Maybe higher-tiered materials?"
"You could try to get it approved as a training-dummy. I know that the requirements are ridiculous because people had exploited it for combat, but you can try."
"Oh, tell me how! I love exploitation!"
"First they made training dummies robots with infinite HP and took them questing as tanks. That got fixed quickly. Then a too clever by a half guild constructed the wall of their compound out of mage dummies. The wall was not only indestructible, but it actually shot spells at the attackers."
Flora laughed. "Great! I want that! Any more feedback?"
"Some of the combinations were a bit challenging, but I liked it. The journey is the reward, right? And without pushing the limits, there is no progress."
"Exactly, but I will implement an easy mode for the beginners. Thank you for testing! I'll send you the finished product as a reward."
Flora to Aidan: "I hope you took notes, she did some excellent testing."
"Oh, yes, no probs! Thanks!" Lana fidgeted. "The topic is hot ATM. I would hurry up the publication. And ... I might stay here for a while, you know." 
Flora smiled and nodded. But first, she went in the corner of the hut and filled up the library container. Although Lana was occupied with the game, Flora still shielded the books from her eyes.
'I'm so childish! I'm sure Lana reads tons of shitty romance novels! And since when do I care what other people think of me?'
The admonishment didn't help. Flora tucked the books away on the last shelf. Not that you could hide 124 books in an otherwise mostly empty library, but she tried.
Flora to Aitoshuri: "Enjoy!"
A fanfare of trumpets sounded, which made Flora smile. She recognized the piece: it was from Bach's 'Jauchzet Frohlocket!' (Shout for joy, exult!).

Regarding the Mech Designer System, Ves had many ideas on where to spend his DP. The most luxurious one would be to upgrade his stealth module on his comm, but that drained pretty much all of his recent earnings.

"It's better to spend them on skills and attributes this time."

The more he thought about the prospect of designing an original mech, the more he realized the daunting nature of the endeavor. Not only did he have to make a functional mech, he also had to make it sell.

A peculiar trend in the mech industry was that mechs with strong strengths and weaknesses sold better than they ought to. This pattern became especially prevalent in the lower segments of the market.

They considered balanced mechs with no obvious traits the safe and boring option. Many of the mainstream models throughout the galactic rim, heartland and center consisted of these kinds of mechs. Even if they were as flavorless as water, their excellent quality control and lack of exploitable weaknesses made them safe to deploy in large amounts.

Generally, the mech industry believed that newcomers should focus on their strengths rather than balance out their weaknesses. Mech pilots sought out mechs that complimented their strengths. Even if their favorite models came with caveats, knowing about them beforehand allowed them to mitigate these weaknesses.

"It's probably too much to aim for upgrading a Skill to Journeyman-level." Ves considered as he finalized the shipment of the final mechs.

Excluding the original show models, Ves completed the fabrication of three copies of the Marcus Aurelius, fifteen copies of the Caesar Augustus Eternal Edition and around thirty-four copies of the Marc Antony Mark II Eternal Edition.

All of this should have taken more than a year in his old workshop, but with his new machines and mech technicians, he finished it all in just over two months. The speed at which his workshop completed the orders showcased the benefits of superior capital and labor.

"It's a bit daunting to sit around so many expensive machines. I also have to be responsible for my workers."

Even when Ves hired Carlos, Calsie and Gavin to help him manage the Living Mech Corporation, he always felt alone. In essence, he never really shed the sense that it was essentially a one-man operation.

Now, with the addition of eleven pair of hands in the workshop floor, every day turned lively. Even as they finally finished all the limited edition mechs, they still had a busy week ahead with the fabrication of the regular silver label Mark II's.

One benefit of his high-profile participation in the Vintage Festival was that the demand for his products spiked up. Marcella often received solicitations for Ves to fabricate a Marcus Aurelius or a Caesar Augustus.

Sadly for the latecomers, Ves had no intentions reducing the scarcity of those mechs. They stopped being rare if too many copies circulated in the market.

Thus, most customers turned away when they heard that Ves stopped providing mechs of that caliber. The only model Ves offered freely were the silver label Mark II's. His well-practiced mech technicians eagerly tackled the challenge of fabricating the Mark II's without direct involvement from Ves.

With Carlos and Chief Cyril watching over the eager men and women, Ves had nothing to worry about on that end. They used the new production line for the silver label Mark II's, which not only sped up the work, but also ensured the quality of the finished components.

The LMC sold an average of three silver label Mark II's per week. Despite tripling the rate of production, the drastically higher resource costs meant that his gross profits hadn't really increased all that much.

At this time, Ves also finished tallying up his finances for the end of the fiscal year.

Excluding the recent orders, the LMC accumulated around 700 million credits in regular business activities. The sum consisted of the investment made by the Larkinson family, the profits out of fulfilling orders for the gold and silver label Mark II's and the compensation for fulfilling 'irregular' orders.

Ves only briefly enjoyed the massive sum his company accumulated. Every business had to pay taxes, and the LMC was no different. Even though it benefited from several exemptions meant to ease the burden on startups, the LMC still had to cough up money to the planet and the state at an effective tax rate of twenty percent. The company paid fifteen percent to the central government and five percent to Cloudy Curtain's local government.

Furthermore, he also had to reserve money to pay for his other annual expenses. This included his electricity bill, which ballooned once the company gained the new production line. It also included the annual compensation for Sanyal-Ablin for its combined security, convoy shipment and insurance costs.

"I also can't forget to add the interest payment for the old loan."

After deducting a depressing amount of expenses to his company's account, the LMC was left with only 1.4 billion credits in liquid cash.

Ves amply met his goal of raising a vast sum of money. While it took a short couple of months to earn this sum, he finally gained some options with regards to completing his set of licenses.

He had to be careful with acquiring the right component licenses. With stagnant profits, Ves could not rely on his company to raise more cash in the event he wasted his current savings.

The main problem he faced right now was that Ves felt apprehensive about drafting an initial outline for his design. He vaguely sensed a gap in his mind that warned him that he missed something essential to design a good original mech.

Over the past couple of months, this feeling grew stronger, to the point where it even haunted his dreams. Specters of possible futures where he introduced his first original design with bombast, only to be ridiculed by the mech industry happened every night.

"What am I missing?" Ves puzzled over his conundrum. Was it experience? Inspiration? Skills?

Even without spending his DP, Ves considered himself to be amply prepared for the task. Many other Apprentice Mech Designers published their first original designs without the help of the System.

Leaving out the freaks and the direct disciples, Ves should be one of the most prepared Apprentice Mech Designers without an original design in his belt.

Perhaps he needed a break. Ves had worked non-stop for the last couple of months. Even though he mastered his new equipment and refined his Assembly skills through constant repetition, he still found the work to be tedious, especially since he had to focus his mind to imbue his mechs with the X-Factor.

"I've been wondering if you were still human." Chief Cyril joked as Ves admitted his frustrations. "You've worked harder than any of us. Even I take a couple of days off. The way you're putting all your passion in your mechs is admirable, but if your entire life resolves solely around designing and fabricating mechs, then you're no different from a human-shaped bot."

The remark startled Ves. When was the last time he put down his work and relaxed? He couldn't even recall something as simple as that. "It's not easy getting my company up its feet. I only got this far because of all the effort I put into my career."

Even Carlos shook his head when he heard those words. "Ves, you've got to learn to relax. Even when we studied at Rittersberg, we still partied a lot, remember? What happened to the old Ves?"

Well, this was anyway apparent even before Evan's death as he had started trying to raid our ships. Have you heard about our new Admiral?"

Tornwall asked confusingly, "No, Who is he?"
Ryfon smiled and spoke, "Previously he was a pirate. What do you think?"
Tornwall shrugged as he commented, "Well, I trust Lord so it won't matter to me who he hires. Anyway, tell me more about him."

John asked Eva, "Meanwhile, where are Sally and Josephine? Weren't they coming as well?"
Eva gruntled as she spoke, "I guess Grandma conned both of us this time around."

Georgio thought as he saw Eva and John coming out of the administrative headquarters, 'Geez, why do I have to suggest these ideas to that old hag? That old hag is quite cunning as she was able to take a promise from both of them. What are these days where I have to do these shameful things instead of spying or diplomatic work.'

Eva spoke as she heard John, "Speaking of Sally, she was quite down lately because of your interactions with Prince Lukav. While Josephine is busy teaching the brats from the village about the fighting techniques she discovered recently, I guess she will return as soon as she is out of all the combat techniques."

While returning home from a boring day of work, a black hole opened up in front of John and sucked him in. 

Before he was floating in the blackhole, a helmet latched on to him. "Uploading A.I under progress...Activating Survival Kit" A weird robotic sound appeared within the conscious of John and suddenly a white energy enveloped him... After opening his eyes, John noticed he was teleported to a whole new world. 

A world of magic and he was a user of a system. Arkon, the world John was brought too, was a medieval world which is 10 times bigger than earth. This new world held many new mysteries and this was the beginning of John's adventure. 

John will dominate and stir the world with his new system. Old technologies begone and use my advanced techys instead! Ha! you want to hold a politic, economical and military war with me? Sorry but my system is too broken for you all to counter.

A few days have passed since the book workshop and since Daeshim left New York.  She was now busy packing her stuffs for the book tour and was very excited to go and meet her readers from different parts of the world.  It was unreal how her simple ideas and writing have reached the hearts of so many people in such a short time, she thought as she examined the success that her books have achieved.  Even at the book workshop she could see how people were getting excited to see her, to hear from her and of course get their books personally signed by her.  It was definitely not a book signing session but many readers had attended just for that reason but nevertheless she did give her best into describing the book publishing world and content creating part that she was now quite accustomed to.  It was true she still had a long way to go after this but was thankful for everything that she had the opportunity to discover so far and to be able to share her thoughts and experience with the outside world was even more fulfilling.  

She spent that whole day at the local library where the book workshop was being held and barely had time to hang out with Daeshim and knowing that he was to take the plane later in that evening was even more heart wrenching for her but then she had no other choice as she was committed to the responsibility given to her from work and had to respect that as well.  But after finishing up her work late in the evening, she did rush to his apartment to meet him one last time and spend the last few minutes that they had together.  When she arrived there, he was already in the car as one of the guys was putting his luggage in the trunk and then he asked her to accompany him through the short ride to the airport.  They sat next to each other in the car and Zara laid her head on his shoulder while he was holding her hand and they just enjoyed each other's presence to the fullest before their separation.  And then Daeshim took something out of his pocket and Zara noticed that it was two black bracelets with silver plate on which was each written "His always" and "Hers always" with a heart; he made her wear hers and gave her the other one to put on his wrist and then he took her hand and kissed it gently.  Zara was of course blown away by his cute and sweet gesture, she lifted her head, looked at him and then looked into the driver's direction and back at him, and she then planted a little kiss on his cheek and rested her head again on his shoulder while holding his arm.  

Once they had arrived at the airport, Lee and the other guy got down of the car to give them some privacy so they could bid each other good bye properly.  Daeshim lifted her chin and while caressing her cheek he said with a heavy heart: "It's time to go" and then gazed at her in a loving way trying to capture this beautiful image of her; she was emotional as her eyes were all red but was doing everything in her power not to break down as she did not want to leave him like that but wanted to let him go with a smile.  Daeshim then kissed her forehead and then added: "I will miss you".  She looked at him with watery eyes and replied: "I will miss you too".  They knew they were going to talk to each other and would meet each other very soon anyway, but it was still hard for them to separate as they had just met after a long separation and had just got together and now had to leave once again.  "I will call you every single day, make sure you keep in touch too, and yeah I almost forgot, I have one more thing for you", Daeshim said as he took out a black velvet box and instantly Zara recognized it.  He opened it in front of her: "I believe this is yours".  Zara was about to protest yet again but he put a finger in front of her mouth to stop her "Please Zara, don't say anything, just take it".  And she executed as she did not want to hurt him by refusing his gift for the second time.  

She was then about to get down of the car when he pulled her hand and in the process she fell on his lap, he held his waist with one of his hands and the back of her neck with the other and then gave her a long passionate kiss that Zara felt lasted forever.  They were soon lost in a whole different universe of their own as excitement and sensations came flooding, luckily the SUV had tinted windows otherwise people would have been grossed out over their situation as they continued to kiss fervently, Zara thought and then after a few minutes, he gave a smile after having kissed her and while he was still out of breath he said: "I will be waiting for you".  They then got down of the car and he then walked into the terminal but just before he entered, he stopped, turned around and waved her good bye and then he was gone.  They did spoke a couple of times here and there after that over the phone and video call as he had a quite busy schedule between his movie promotion and new project but they sure exchanged cute text messages every single day.

Lost in the thoughts of Daeshim, she picked up her clothes one by one and folded them properly so they could fit her suitcase and was just about to finish packing when her phone rang, she hurriedly picked it up thinking that it would be him but unfortunately it was not, rather it was Daryl who was calling: "So are you ready for your flight tomorrow?" he asked.  "Almost, I just have a few more things to pack, it would have been so much fun if you could come along", Zara said with a melancholy.  "I know, I wanted to come but I really can't, anyway you would have to do with Catherine, she is not as enjoyable as me of course but at least she will be there with you, anyway I hope you have a good flight, enjoy, bye".

Dressed in a blue pair of ripped jeans and a white blouse, she took her seat in the plane which this time was not a window seat however, she was travelling first class and compared to her life before, it was an upgrade for her and considering the length of time she had to travel all the way from New York to the Philippines, she thought it was a luxury.  She spent a whole lot of time sleeping trying to recover from the exhaustion that came with writing and trying to complete her next novel as she could not do much when Daeshim was in New York; she barely had time to spend at home as she was always doing something with him or spending time in his apartment.  Hence, after he was gone she seized the opportunity to complete as much chapters as she could before leaving for her book tour.  And she was quite satisfied as she was able to cover an extensive amount of work in this way she would be able to devote all her attention into making the book signing sessions a success.  Seated comfortably in the airplane sofa, she started to get bore; she did all by now: she slept, she watched movies, read magazines and walked down the aisle but the long voyage was beginning to take a toll on her.  And she could not even share a conversation with Catherine as they were not sitting together on the plane, they had obtained different seats.  

Later, after having had a stopover in Hong Kong, they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International airport in Manila following a nineteen-ish hour flight.  It was definitely one of the longest flights that she had ever taken and while all tired and jet lagged, they were picked by a staff from a local library and dropped to their hotel.  It was not a too extravagant hotel and was quasi small but was good enough to spend some days.  They both shared a nice cozy room with double beds and as soon they finished dinner, they crashed on the bed to have a good night sleep.

The next morning Zara woke up a little bit late and since she had missed her morning exercise, she decided to walk around a little bit to discover this new country; so she left the room while Catherine was still deeply asleep.  She discovered as she walked around the area, different amusement parks that were close by, and the hotel being in one of the oldest districts in the Philippines housed many cultural and historical areas of interest; it also had other different attractions that were easily accessible from there like the National Museum and the Mall of Asia.  The district was also home to many bars and restaurants but far from that you could also discover the levels of poverty which was really heart touching as she go through the narrow and crowded streets.  However, since it was nearly time for her to get ready for the book signing session, she decided to go back to the hotel.  Catherine was already up and getting ready when she returned back from her walk; the event was scheduled to take place at a renowned bookstore from 2pm to 5pm in another city called Makati which is considered as the financial centre of the Philippines.  

Seated by the table with her editor by her side as well as other staff members from the library that were standing around, she took a deep breath to clear her thoughts and to take it all in; she may have signed books here and there but this was officially her very own and first book signing session that was about to take place in a country that was hundreds of miles away from her home country.  It was still hard to believe the success that she had achieved in a very short span of time.  She started writing romance fiction for fun and could never have imagined in a million years that something like this would ever be possible but yet here she was.  In a country whose residents speak a very different language, she had succeeded to break the barrier with her writing and touched their hearts with her words and stories and nothing could be worth more than all the smiling faces that were now fixed on her as they all sat down on the chairs that were placed in the library hall for the occasion.  Dressed elegantly in her business attire, she painted a smile on her nervous face as her editor initiated the event with a speech to introduce Zara.  With their round of applause it was now time for questions and answers as they all seemed eager to get to know their author a little bit more.

Then it was followed by the signing process as each one of them readers came one by one by the table with excitement on their faces to meet her and get their books signed.  The feeling that you get when receiving so much love, admiration and satisfaction was out of this world, Zara thought and she could not be more grateful for all the appreciation and words of support that she was getting while some of them also took the opportunity to give her some presents which she accepted gracefully and thanked them in respect for their efforts.  She was really enjoying her time and felt a great sense of achievement and considered herself as one of the luckiest people in the whole universe.  She could not help but think of Daeshim at this very moment how he was also happy and all smiling at his fan session in London, although Zara was nowhere close to his success, she was still sharing the same feelings as without these people, her book would not have been a bestselling and she would not have been here experiencing this amazing moment. 

As the event drew to its end, they thanked everybody for their presence and support and also the staff members of the library that welcomed them wholeheartedly and did everything in their power to make it a successful event.  She went back to her hotel filled with joy and gratitude and also was very thankful to the Lord for having blessed her with so much after having gone through quite a difficult period in her life and she was glad that she did not give up at that time and kept her faith strong as she could really see the fruit of her patience now.  The next morning as they still had enough time before going to their second location, they went to visit the Fort Santiago which is considered as one of the most important fort in Manila since José Rizal, who is the national hero of the Philippines, was imprisoned there back in the day before he was actually executed in 1896.  You could also witness his footprints in Bronze which represented the final steps that he would have taken from his cell to the place where he would have been executed.  Zara being a history buff was of course enamored by the historical side of the place and was surely having a good time exploring the area.  They finished their visits of the different places of interests, also visited the mall and concluded it with a taste of the Philippines gastronomy.  

"I hope the next event will be as successful as the first one", Catherine said as they headed towards their next location.  She was surely not the fun type like Daryl but was not bad either to spend the day with, Zara thought as she was also someone who loved exploring and was equally hard working when it comes to fulfilling her responsibility as an editor.  She has always been very supportive of her work from day one and was someone very helpful when it comes to developing new ideas, preparing drafts and Zara had always appreciated her final work as she would do a good job in refining, polishing and enhancing the quality of her work.  "Yesterday was so much fun though, I still can't get over it, it felt so surreal with all the love and appreciation", Zara added in a dreamy mode.  Catherine could not help but chuckled at her innocence and then gave her a tap on her knee while saying: "You deserve every bit of it Zara, you have really worked hard for this and this is just only the beginning, there will be more to come with God's grace".
