Emica Kana is 18 years old. She has always loved writing stories., They were her escape from reality. She always wished that a man would come and save her like they always do in the stories.
Well, she got her wish.
Emica entered a small writing school that was near a river. Her friend had joined her. But, the teacher had an odd vibe around him. Emica became a little scared of him. She especially became scared when the teacher started to pay more attention to her. One day, when she runs from him, she falls into a world of adventure, risk, and abnormalities. 
But, her teacher is what scares her more than this new world. What secrets and schemes did he use to get her here?

It's an assassin's job to kill and many in the field have a policy; all witnesses must be terminated. Purga, whose real name only the dead are aware of, follows said policy religiously. That's until she is caught during work by a young man who is happy to know he'll be put to death and actively encourages it. To him, being a witness was a blessing, to Purga it was a curse.

Isekai isn't a complicated subject when you relate it to the Otaku's Journey where a regular individual suddenly becomes awesome because they are not a NEET anymore but a super powerful chick magnet...

However, there's more to this trope than what meets the eye. You all must know by now what this trope-becoming-a-genre means by now, right? It's basically being sent into Another World.

However, though it's recently become popular, Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz did it before being Isekai'd by Truck-kun became a meme. The amount of Anime references on this is amazing!

...Amazing, but also limiting in a way. The true potential of Isekai can't even be reached by those who awkwardly try their hand at writing, their eyes become tainted by the tropes already established.

So instead of introducing you to all those meaningless tropes that only work if you're writing a very specific Power Fantasy, let us talk about the bare bones basics to get this trope to work.

Firstly, you need to transport someone to the Other World somehow (magic is the most generic but not mandatory. You can even make it a 'portal' from science fiction as well). 

Secondly, you need a world to transport them to. 

Thirdly, an overarching plot in the story.

And lastly, your character needs a drive (it can range from surviving to being the best at being a trap).

Anything other than these four points are just established tropes people keep reusing like the oddly familiar RPG-esque Medieval Fantasy World to the fact it always has to be about fantasy elements.

"Isekai's are great because the reader understands the very vast world as much as the main character."

My only question to those senseless writers who take this benefit at face value is: So what?

I've said in my Shounen Formula analysis that overarching plots must be mixed with motives.

For example: What does the character want? And what does the world they travelled to want?

Maybe the world wants to be saved in your typical Demon King Vs Hero plots. However, what is the point of your character being Isekai'd into that if his existence of being an Earthling means nothing?

In Knight and Magic, they added a robot otaku and engineer even though his past was irrelevant...

Do people not even care about 'mystique' anymore?

Even Isekai Smartphone was a better Isekai than the uninspired Fantasies churned out these days...!

Jobless Reincarnation (Mushoku Tensei) isn't getting an Anime Adaptation for no reason. The entire point of why that Isekai actually worked wasn't because it showed the character as a baby but because the author already aligned his motives with the plot.

He wanted to become a better and more hardworking person than in his past life, and the world was just the right stage for the main character to do just that! That story also showed clear understanding of redemption arcs and was much more aware that people don't change at the drop of a hat even if they realised their errors. It takes repeatedly going against your nature and understanding empathy to truly change inwardly.

What I'm trying to say ISN'T to create a world that has a plot that perfectly aligns with his goals but have a more broader creative ambition than just shoving any old nobody into a Medieval Fantasy World. No one cares how powerful your character's Holy Sword is compared to others nor do they care about a guy who is cheating the game of life.

What people want is drama and the consequences of being reincarnated when your motives doesn't align with what the world wants. If you shove a normal guy into a Medieval Fantasy World where a Summoned Hero must help humanity... he might not choose to save the world, but might even take the Demons side since to him, all Humans of this other world are just aliens. Not only that but they most likely don't have methods to send him back if he actually had a life on Earth before being summoned.

In other words, if you're going to write seriously then stop thinking of tropes and 'what is now popular'.

Isekai is supposed to be about someone from beyond, an alien like us, transporting to someone else's home world. How they deal with that change is exactly what Isekai is about... not Fantasy!

If you don't have a reason to use this trope, don't as it only worsens what could become a good story if you focus on other areas. Don't simply use it as a tool for giving the MC what amounts to amnesia.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

But one day the unlucky Voidne crossed through a wormhole by a mistake, that sent him into a parallel universe to occupy the body of the Voidne from that universe.

The new parallel universe was more advanced, and a new game was about to get released.  It was a VRMMORPG, that is going to be super popular.  Even companies were going to fight over occupying this game.

I am a 13 year old who loves reading .I thought that I cold give a try in writing and here I am .Never expected anyone to read my book and Thank you to all who read it.I live in India so we have English as our first language so there won't be many grammatical mistakes.We have compulsory creative writing in English so all of us are used to writing lame stories.I know currently nothing much is happening in the story but I can assure that by the weekend the story will get interesting.

what if, your marriage was not your own choice

The group was merrily chatting while making lunch. The woman whispered with each other while the two old men, Bernard and Paterno, watched them. The three new faces, Chanchan, Mustache, and Bear, finally started a conversation with them. Its a bit misleading, seeing a group of five uncles gazing at the youthful women, but no one felt worried since their gazes were filled with warmth.
Jun strode towards the group, then sat on the chair beside Evo, who was busy writing things in his notebook.
"Are you writing? That's odd. Never seen you write before."
"Have you ever seen me without my laptop? That's right. Right now."
"Your handwriting looks awful."
"You're brutally honest, and you're not helping."
"Why? Is what you're writing important?"
"I liked the idea of setting up a store. Do you know that life only starts when humans settle down? The nomads got tired of moving from place to place and started planting. They then made a small community. People gathered, and civilization finally started. As more and more people settled down, living conditions and technology finally advanced, just like what the ancients did. We need to settle down to start something, and a store can do it. People will need food and shelter, even protection. We can offer that, and you can offer all that."
"If you mean killing infected and making the place safe, then that's easy. We also have experience in controlling an area, so this should be feasible. But what are you writing?"
"I'm planning for the future. I'm writing everything we know about this new world. This could be useful in the future."
"We could sell it and earn what? Food? Are we going back to the bartering system." Jun sarcastically said.
Evo slightly lowered his head and began thinking. He muttered to himself, "We can't. And if we use the old monetary system, only the rich who are probably hidden on their mansions would benefit."
Evo looked at Jun, then said, "We need a new commerce system."
"Don't look at me. If you want me to kill infected, I'll gladly do it."
"It's cooked! Everyone, please get your plates and line up."
"Right on time. I'm starving." Jun said.
Evo followed Jun to get some food. They went back to their seats and started eating their food.
At that time, a hand touched Jun's shoulder. Adrian appeared behind Jun as he was about to swallow a spoonful of food.
"You need to see something."
Adrian spoke solemnly while looking stern. Jun chewed then swallowed the food as he glanced at Adrian. "Right now?"
"Yes."
"Okay, let's go and see whatever it is."
Jun stood up and followed Adrian, who walked towards the stairs that lead to the second floor. Evo got curious and followed the two of them.
"You got any leads? Are they having bad thoughts?" Jun said as they climbed the stairs.
"No, they don't have any guns or any plans. I left when I started hearing moans."
"Ohhh! They're having a party, and they didn't invite me... Those rascals!" Jun said.
Evo smiled wryly when he heard what Jun said. He just caught up to them, and this kind of conversation welcomed him. He shook his head as he grinned. "Marianne would kill you if she heard that."
Jun hollowly laughed, then looked below the stairs, searching for Marianne. He found her encircled with other women, who were chattering nonstop.
"Is she you're girlfriend?" Adrian asked.
"No. Where are we going? You need to eat lunch too."
"We're here. I probably won't have enough time to eat lunch, though."
Adrian stopped in the middle of the hallway, then faced the glass panel on his left.
A tall statue of the national hero, Jose Rizal, towered in the middle of the plaza. Further back were three buildings that have the same height that just varied on their sizes.
The building on the left was the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, also known as TESDA. It serves as the Philippines' Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) authority. As a government agency, TESDA is tasked to both manage and supervise the Philippines' Technical Education and Skills Development (TESD). Its goals are to develop the Filipino workforce with "world-class competence and positive work values and to provide quality technical-educational and skills development through its direction, policies, and programs.
It's a school that offers a wide array of courses like agriculture, automotive, electronics, and other useful skills.
The building on the center was a huge event center, and the one on the right was the District's Engineer's office. Seeing the building, Jun was reminded of his father, who used to work at that building.
Jun became speechless as he looked at what was happening in the plaza. A horde of infected was surrounding a group of people. Police officers and civilians were fighting the infected. They seemed to have run out of bullets since they were using guns to bash the infected's heads.
Jun noticed something wrong when the survivors inside fought calmly and systematically. The infected didn't charge at them and instead encircled the area. He then remembered his conversation with that 'lying lieutenant.' The lieutenant said that they were stranded on the plaza square, surrounded by infecteds.
Seeing the situation, he finally believe the claim. Though it was a bit late, he would still try to help them. Not because he was a good guy, but because he was really interested to know what keeps the infected away from them.
Jun took the radio from his dimensional storage. At that time, one unlucky survivor actually got caught and was pulled out from the 'circle.' The survivors near him tried pulling him back and succeeded. The upper part of that unlucky person's body was riddled with bites and was bleeding non-stop. A woman ran and knelt down beside the body.
Jun pressed the button on the radio. "Hey, lieutenant something. Are you still there? Can you hear me? Hellooooo~ Anybody~."
Jun waited for a reply and received an unexpected one.
"You're a fvcking piece of shit." said the man on the other side of the radio.
"I agree," Evo said, who was standing at his side.
Jun glanced at Evo, then chuckled. The two of them were already used to each other. Dissing at one another, was one of their ways to pass the time.
"Is that how you want to thank me for thinking of helping you?"
"You're still just thinking of it?" the man replied. "People are dying here. We haven't eaten for days, and we won't last another day. The safe radius keeps on decreasing! The infected are now five meters away from us! They don't even die and keeps standing up after we kill them!"
Jun became interested in the safe radius that the other person mentioned, but he frowned after hearing the last sentence.
"Aren't you looting the bodies?" said Jun puzzled.
Although he has the unique ability to see extra description, looting the bodies only needed someone to place their hands on the dead infected's body. By some luck, people should be able to chance upon it after spending some time fighting for their life.
"What do you mean by looting the bodies? Do you want us to check their belongings and go out of the circle?"
Jun contemplated for a second. Considering that they were probably using the guns at the start of the apocalypse, they wouldn't be able to loot the bodies since infecteds would surround it. It would also be suicidal to stop and check things out when you're in the middle of a chaotic place. They got stranded in the safe zone, and when they ran out of bullets, they started using the guns as melee weapons. At that time, the bodies should have fallen to their side and not backward. They should have been curious and touched the dead bodies. But why don't they know about it?
Jun got his answer after asking a few questions.
When the infected fell inside the safe zone, the dead body turned into sparkling particles and flew inside the statue. The lieutenant thought that the statue was helping them, and so they tried pulling the infected inside the circle. Things worked for a while, but suddenly, the docile infected charged at them. Then they noticed that the circle radius was reduced to nine meters.
With the thought that no help would come, they decided to kill the infected. Since they don't know of any other way to get rid of the bodies, they used the power of the statue even at the expense of the safe zone shrinking.
"Stop doing that. We're going to help you." Jun said.
"Okay, everyone! Take some rest. Help's coming!"
Jun could hear cheering from the other side. He watched them celebrate from afar.
"By the way, what level are you now?"
"What level?"
Jun became speechless. "Never mind."
Evo suddenly said, "Maybe there's a downside on staying in a safe zone? Like some pros and cons. The place offers safety while taking away the ability to earn experience. It's possible, and the most likely reason."
"Okay. Let's go down first." Jun said then started walking.
Adrian ran up to him. "So, what's the plan?"
Jun casually replied as he climbed down the stairs.
"We're eating."


In less than a minute, the world that we knew had changed. A mass vertigo occurred and for a brief moment, everyone fell unconscious. When people woke up, they learnt that their bodies were strengthened and that they also gained unique skills for themselves. Zombies and mutated monsters began to rampage on the streets.

Jun was a casual thug. When he woke up, he gained an extra ability that will help him survive in this new world. Join him as he journeyed through this apocalyptic wasteland in search of his remaining family. Watch him build his own underground empire and make a haven for his own.

Through this note, I'd like to share my intention in creating this book. I've always wanted a story where I can just freely express myself and not be bothered by the quality of the writing or whether some things make sense or not.

I just want a book where I can have fun and relax myself when I write it. So, don't expect a good quality of writing here and some mind-blowing plot because like I said, I just want to have fun. Hence, I beg for your understanding as the readers. Just try to enjoy it as it is and don't mind the grammars or anything technical.

Just sit back and relax!

And please excuse me for not having a specific time for updates since this book is not my main priority!

My main concern still lies in my first book, The Days When I'm With You and yes, it is a romance. I'm a romance writer. So, as you can see this my first try writing a fantasy. Wish me luck!
